Dark Souls-ish Dream - The Lost Gun

      Genre: Dark Fantasy

      Legnth: Medium

      Lucid Non-Lucid

I am standing in a large central hub of a dark, twisted world. This hub is essentially a gorgeous train station, however it is ancient and crumbling. Vendors of all sorts of goods are set up throughout the train station, and other "players" are scattered around, talking to each other. I stand in front of a bandaged vendor, and from what little skin shows I can tell that he has been horribly burned at some point in his life. He has just improved my favorite gun. A gorgeous, ivory-plated six-shooter, with an extended barrel and runic carvings throughout. Its a classic pistol, flint-lock and like something out of the revolutionary war. I really don't know anything about guns, but somehow I knew plenty in this dream...

I have just spent tons of this universes currency on him improving it, and I am excited to try it out. A "player" - someone that I know is another adventurer and survivor like me - comes to the same vendor, smiling. She has white hair, a reoccuring theme three nights in a row for me. I smile back, and put my gun on the table to pay the vendor. He thanks me for the business in a gravelly, damaged voice, and I reach down for my gun to go test it out.

      Its gone.

Looking around, I see the white haired woman making her way quickly out of the Station, pushing past players and looking about anxiously. That bitch just stole my beloved gun!

I run back and buy another, totally un-upgraded pistol in haste. It will have to do. I holster it next to my musketeer sword, my other weapon, and chase after her. She sees me hot on her tail, and breaks into a run, choosing to go the way of the sewers. As I run after her through the muck - phantoms materialize out of no where in the shape of british red-coat sailors. I fence with them quickly, knocking one blade aside, and putting a few bullets into his back. I leave the other one and run after the thief once more.

I finally catch sight of her as I reach the end of the sewer. Many more red-coats have formed behind me, but I pay them no mind. She enters a door that looks very much like an old schoolhouse door, and I crash in after her.

      The Schoolhouse and Skrillex

As I crash into the door, I find myself in a gutted school room, also looking dusty and ancient. My girlfriend is asleep on one of the beds, and I actually notice that it seems to be more of an infirmary than anything, though I know she isn't sick. I forget my quest for the gun instantly, and I lay down to go to sleep. Before I can, there is a knock on the door, and a girl I recognize from my college campus asks if her and her friend can come sleep because of some strange situation I can't remember. My girlfriend shrugs so I say yes, and she proceeds to bring about thirty people into our room.

      So much for one friend?

One of the kids begins to play a Skrillex song (a dubstep music artist), and I tell him that I have some nice speakers in my room (which I do). I take his iPod and then realize that the remix of the Skrillex song doesn't actually exist... Wait... Is this a dream? I think to myself, as my alarm goes off.

Phew! That dream was a doozie, and I was ALMOST LUCID! Gahhh. I think I was way too tired to lucid dream though, as I was already starting to fall asleep at 9PM and ended up finally going to bed at 1:30AM

      More to come tomorrow!
    2. Lucid and Singing at 7-11 - 04/21/2013

      by , 04-21-2013 at 06:39 PM
I'm not usually one to sing around people, at least not on my own, so when I found myself in the middle of a 7-11 singing along with the overhead music I became lucid. It's not uncommon for me to have music in my dream or sing inside my mind while in the grocery store but this is a new treat for me in a lucid dream and I go with it.

The song I'm singing is All-Star by Smash Mouth, not my first choice for a musical number but apparently easy to remember. As I begin singing I start walking around the aisle, checking out my control and it occurs to me that I should make the most of this neat scene. I have always wanted a musical number in my dream and now I have one.

As I finish the first stanza I slightly raise my arms and the dozen-plus people in the store all stop in place, shopping baskets in hand, and begin singing the chorus. It sounds really cool and I'm totally digging on making this happen.

"All that glitters is goooolllddd! Only shootings stars break the mold!"

I continue singing and I'm even impressed I can recall the words so easily. the novelty of singing in a dream isn't wearing off though I find I'm not so keen on my voice as the solo participant. Still, I keep singing as I slowly walk among the stock-still shoppers.

"It's a cold place, and they say it gets colder
You're bundled up now, wait 'til you get older
But the media-men beg to differ
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture."

"The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
The water's getting warm so you might as well swim
My world's on fire, how 'bout yours?
That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored."

And again the people erupt into song and I'm thankful to blend in with the harmony.

      "Hey now, you're a rock-star
Get the show on, get paid..."

I don't know any of these people but it's funny watching them standing there like an awkward music video.

      "All that glitters is gooolllddd!"

As they sing this part they raise their arms in the air and wiggle their fingers for emphasis. I can't help but smile. :)

"Only shooting stars break the mo-o-ollld!"

The song ends and I'm slightly glad the pressure is off. My throat feels dry and scratchy and I wake up, still smiling and feeling happy.

      I'm an All-Star! :D

    3. Saving my little sister

      by , 04-21-2013 at 06:28 PM
My memory of the dream starts from the point where I'm walking down a street in my neighbourhood and I notice some people yelling near the block my house is on. I come closer and I see 3 guys wearing skimasks running around, I think they were trying to steal something from one of the nearby shops when probably they were noticed. Not especially odd, since they were stealing literally in broad daylight.

Apparently my little sister, and I believe one of my older sisters, are with me and one of the criminals managed to get his hand on my little sister to use as hostage. He held a gun to her and threatened to shoot her if anyone would try to get near them. As soon as I saw a gun pointed at my defenseless sister as she was being used by those pieces of scum, I felt some kind of fearless strength suddenly rising within me extremely fast and I knew I was going to save her no matter what.

There were three guys, one was holding my sister and the other two were frantically running around him. I spotted an opening when the guy holding my sister aimed his gun at someone else and I ran for him, knocked him over and ran away with my sister running on front of me, so I could take any shots aimed at her with my body. All three of them start shooting at us, and as we were almost around the corner of the builings one bullet grazed her arm and I took a bullet to my back and my left arm.

We escaped the robbers, or whatever criminals they were, and now we were in a room much like my bedroom. My sister is lying down and she is happy I saved her. I am standing and I just can't seem to shake the feeling that even though we made it, she got hurt in the process, and that I should have prevented it. I know we're in a house where my parents and other sisters are as well and decide to go out of the room to do something, I don't know exactly what. At this point my memory of the dream stops.

I woke up shortly after this dream and it left me feeling a bit sad for about 10 seconds or so, which is extremely long for me. I guess this dream did a number on me

    4. 21st Apr 2013 WILDing in the dream again, Abstract shmup, Dragon, False Awakenings

by , 04-21-2013 at 12:10 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Dream recall from today's nap.

I was at home, and i decided to do some WILD attempts, the room looked completely different but i didn't noticed. For some reason i was trying to do WILD in the uncomfortable corner of the bed, i noticed that and moved to the better position.
Then dream skipped and i was going through some greyish town ruins and there were some zombies that i was shooting.
After a while i was back at home and i was playing some abstract shmup. It was in the space and there were energy platforms floating around, enemy was attacking with spaceships and there were also tanks at the platforms. And out of everything that shmup was using Hellsinker OST for the music. I got through a couple of levels, each of which was ending with an boss fight versus some big abstract spaceship.
But after i have done that game suddenly not just switched to the first person, but i was actually in the game. I was walking down an spiral set of the dark red spiral stairs, descending into the darkness. It was deep underground. Soon i have reached some kind of island, floating in the middle of the darkness. At the island there were ruins of the castle and a few more buildings. I crossed the bridge, and music started playing. As music was catching on, glowing white dragon flew out of the darkness and stopped above the island. Shortly dragon became darker and he started talking about something(can't recall what), shortly i recalled
one of my dream goals and realized that i am dreaming, but before i could do anything, some force started attracted us together, and everything went pitch black. I feel weird sensation, like my body was changing in some way or getting fused with, but shortly everything stopped.
I woke up but the room looks different so i am still dreaming, i get up and rub hands but dream fades out again.
I wake up once again and it's daytime, i look at my hands, 5 fingers on the right, 3 fingers on the left, then suddenly back to 5 on the left. Balcony door was blocked by some garbage, so i decide to do small trick with the window nearby. I go backwards through it while expecting it to disappear and as i start falling backwards i notice that window is not there anymore. I feel the wings and fly around while randomly shouting commands for transformation and doing visualization(And completely forgetting how to do it properly ), i get my hands to slightly change, but once i look back at them they change back. I even try visualizing that dragon from before but no dice. After a while dream fades out and i wake up properly.
    5. Clay Sculpting Mastery, Toy Plane Exploration

by , 04-20-2013 at 08:58 PM (SuperSN's Journal of Eclectic Dreams)
      Fragment:
Django from Django Unchained came to his original plantation and started killing all his captors, just like in the movie.

      Dream 1:

The first I can remember of the dream is me looking down on a meditation group from a floor above. All of them were sitting in what looked like a habitat for an animal at a zoo. There were waterworks, stones, grass, very natural things, but it was enclosed by a 2 foot high wall. After a sort time of me observing their meditation, a man in a black polo and khakis starting putting up tan tarps held up by poles. I went down a floor and asked the man what was going on. He told me the meditation session was over, and he was covering the area. I turned around and saw two friends of mine, both fathers. The one who I am more acquainted with, Dave, started talking to me. I can't remember what he said, but he pointed to a door to what looked like a closet and told me to take a shower in there.

The room was perfectly square. There was tan tile on the floor, a shower head coming out of the middle of the ceiling, and a receptacle for towels on the left side of the room (from coming in the door). I stripped my clothes, apparently tan cargo shorts as well, and hung them on the wall. I proceeded to take a shower, but I inadvertently seemed to be getting water all over my clothes and the towels. I got pretty miffed, and I managed to get the water under control. I also decided now would be a good time to masturbate. I came buckets, twice. I turned off the shower, got a towel on, and saw a secret door in the back corner of the room. I cracked the door open just slightly, and saw a long room with tons of stuff with clay. Clay sculptures, clay pottery, clay dioramas. There was even a clay puppet of sorts, moving in the same motion over and over again. It was propelled by nothing more than some carefully placed metal plates to direct it's movement. As far as I could tell, it was moving from the momentum of it's previous movements.

I walked in the room and ogled at all the art. Dave came in and started commenting on his work. As with before, either I couldn't remember what he said, or I didn't care. After a few sentences from him, he took me by my shoulder and walked me over to a chalkboard. He drew 2 circles, and populated them with various different things. He asked me to draw a circle and do as he did. I attempted to craw a circle, but it was horrible. He laughed and laughed at my oval/circle. I erased it, and tried again, but he only laughed harder. I did this a few times before I woke up.

      Dream 2:

Me and my brother were flying in a small plane fit for two. He was currently driving. He made a comment about how he couldn't fly very long stretches, and landed down in front of a visitor's rest stop with a fast food restaurant in it. We went in, and sat at a table. He told me to take the plane and find Miami Beach, and to report back on where it was. I've never been to Miami Beach. As he went to the restroom, I headed out of the building to see that the plane, previously normal-sized, was now vastly different. It looked to be a tiny green toy plane, like something you'd see on a playground, like those animals with springs under them. I didn't seem to be confused though. I straddled the green wooden wingless contraption and, as luck would have it, it started to fly. Since there were no controls or anything, and it was about the length of me, I had to control the plane with my own body weight. To turn, I tilted my body in the direction I wanted to go. To speed up, I tilted my body forward, and to slow down the opposite.

Even though the plane wasn't very fast, quite slow in fact, I was out of the (literal) woods and close to the beach in no time. I came across a sandy trail, with lots of snakes in a 3 foot area. Derryl from The Office was on the trail. I hovered next to him and asked him how to get to Miami Beach, to which he replied through the trail that snakes currently were in. He made some ballsy moves to get through the snakes, and never looked back. Deciding I couldn't or wouldn't go through the snakes and completely forgetting that I had a plane, I flew away from the trail. Eventually I made it to the beach, which was surprisingly thin but still highly populated. Lincoln Log-esque buildings, green roofs and all, lined the beach all the way down. The tiny bit of sand left not occupied by buildings was dotted by people enjoying their time by the sea. Most striking however, was the fact that there were many more of my type of planes flying around the beach. As I was flying through the beach, a woman in her thirties flew up next to me with the same exact plane, and unintentionally copied all my movements She seemed to be enjoying it, but I slowed down and let her pass me.

I flew inside a hotel's lobby that was open to the beach and large. There were children in swimsuits playing in fountains, there were gift shops, and heavy set men buying commemorative T-shirts. After being satisfied with my people-watching, I flew out of the hotel.

There was a but more to this dream involving canyons, scientists, and rare geometric poisonous insects, but I'll just say that flying in the little green plane has been one of the nicer dreams I've ever had.

    6. Random fragmented dream

      by , 04-20-2013 at 05:35 PM
      Hey guys!

Here's my dream, it was pretty all over the place, so if you have any thoughts on it, that'd be great! Also, some of the symbolism perplexes me because I had no contact with it yesterday. It starts out and I'm doing my field tropical biology program, basically going from place to place, moving around a lot. For the courses we had free time, people went hiking, but I didn't even though I really like it (in the dream it's kind of like i have extensive memories of some of the course but i didn't actually do a lot of it in the dream). Anyway there were two really memorable scenes for me:

I'm with some people guarding some antiques in a shop and this strange bejeweled turtle creature enters and it really want to take something but I won't let it. It was really aggressive and started trying to tug some object/paper (?) out of my hand, it even turned the lights off so i couldn't see it. It snapped at my fingers which was really painful, cracking some of my fingernails in half. Even so, I managed to retain the object. That turtle seemed evil.

In the other scene I was at school and I walked over to my friend's room (well more than just a friend) and the door was open and I was going there for some reason. I walked in and he was there, sleeping in his bed naked. I felt really awkward, so started to leave, so he wouldn't see me. Once I got to the door, I look back and he was sitting up in his bed just kind of looking ahead. All of a sudden two other girls from my trip came and were talking to him (they don't really know him in real life) and so I couldn't... Instead, I hugged my friend, Edwin, who then reminded me of a big part of my project for class that I had completely forgotten. I don't really remember too much more, wish I had more details, it was very choppy...

Background: I am currently a college student studying abroad in Panama. I was dating the "friend" before I left for Panama and will now be returning in a couple weeks. I'm definitely anxious/nervous about that at the moment. I also just don't understand the turtle part. Thanks!
    7. Two very vivid dreams.

      by , 04-19-2013 at 09:45 PM
Well, last night I had two dreams that were surprisingly vivid. They weren't lucid, but I still felt the need to document them somehow and this site came to mind, since it's so awesome. This is also my first DJ post, so bear with me...

The first dream I had took place in first person, like almost all of my dreams do. My family went to some friend's/ family's house, and I apparently spent most of the time in the attic. Anyway, we took a trip to a nearby amusement park, and things were going okay. Then, I somehow got separated from the group, but I knew where they were. In order to get back to them, I had to travel across one of many narrow, parallel bridges that crossed a HUGE body of water. I started jogging across one of them, with other people running the opposite way. As I was jogging, I noticed people looking at me weirdly and/or mocking me, but I couldn't figure out why. When I got to the other end of the bridge, however, I noticed that I had a rip all the way down the front of my pants!!!!!
I literally crawled on the ground all the way to the parking lot to avoid more embarrassment....... Hey, it made sense in the dream!

The weird thing about this dream is that, in real life, I had recently torn a pair of pajama pants that were REALLY comfortable, but I still wear them anyway. Must have affected my dreams, I guess.

After waking up from a stomach ache, I went back to sleep, and the second dream started. Actually it was the same scenario as the first dream in terms of visiting a friend's/family's house. So there I was, it was night time, and I was out in the street with my real-life-friend Dominic (he's the one that told me about lucid dreaming in the first place). We found some weird golden glowing ball, and I touched it (or picked it up, can't remember). The dream kind of cut to back inside the house, but I assumed that we ended up finding nine of them total. Then, I went upstairs to a dark room and noticed another one. As soon as I touched it, a Wii U Gamepad lit up nearby. I looked at it, and it told me I had contracted something called the "n10 virus". By touching 10 of the balls in relative succession, I had gotten the virus. What the virus does is that if you consume any food within the next ten days, you DIE. Now, in the dream, I actually knew what the virus was ahead of time, and so did Dominic, so I told him that I had it. Some more stuff followed, but it wasn't really related.

As soon as I woke up, I was convinced that I had had that dream before, and that that's how Dominic and I knew about it. It was pretty triply.

WOW. I can't believe I just wrote all of that. Just felt the need to tell someone about all of this. Anyway, thanks for reading!

    8. 19th Apr 2013 The source of disturbance, Searching for the forger, Touhou-like game

by , 04-19-2013 at 08:46 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Dream 1:

I was some kind of... ghosty dimensional being, there was another one that i was with as a team. We were in some bizarre monochrome world that was getting filled with colors with each movement(trippy). We felt some kind of disturbance and went to investigate it. There was the road and we had to pass one area that was guarded by some other ghosty beings to reach the point where we needed to go. At first we were just going to fight them, but i thinked up a plan that one of us could distract them while another one gets through. He started distracting them and i got through, i used some sort of energy attack on the way to help him a bit too and shortly, we both were through.
We reached some more colorful natural place, and that's where the source of disturbance was. I saw an "solar cactus" that was radiating an immense amount of heat, and there was an some item near it, which was the source of disturbance for sure. I went towards it, going around some thorns on the way, and picked it up(sadly can't recall what that item was).
After that we went to the mountain area and we were looking at the map of the world and searching for the forging shop, none showed on the map. We checked a few towns, no dice. Then we noticed some train passing by and we went to check there. Luckily the master of the forging was on that train and we got him to help us to forge this item that we found into something. Then dream ended.

      Dream 2(fragments):

I was watching some video about "How to properly TAS an racing game" for whatever reason. The author was playing some motorbike racing game and describing how to use some tool to create TAS(Tool-assisted) run of it.
Later i was playing some game that looked like touhou, but scoring was more something like chaining. There was a boss one attack of which created a wall of boulders, and the more boulders were destroyed, the more dense boulders were moving towards the player character. Once boulders became too dense i used some kind of special attack to destroy them all, but then realized that UI is missing GFX for it and went into some kind of editor to add it.
    9. ALIENS!!! + Meh -50%

      by , 04-19-2013 at 01:12 PM
Aliens aliens!! I ran inside scared out of my physical body. I slammed the door shut, but before I closed it, some girl ran inside and just vanished. I ignored it and closed the door. I looked out the window, a swarm of Aliens walking around, I was terrified... It was scary. Then all of a sudden I ran behind the couch to hide, staring at the door, the door opened, an alien came inside, then I woke up. (I'm not sure if it was a real awakening). Then I went back to sleep, the dream continued/repeated!
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was sitting in my seat at school, this girl that sits infront of me had to move. So she just moved somewhere else (I have no idea where) then I said "I just lost 50% of my interest sitting here...."

    10. Faux Volcano! and Sitting for Old Review Tests

      by , 04-19-2013 at 10:19 AM
Night of April 19, 2013. Friday.

This is another dream where I revisit my teenage years to take some review tests. A few friends are with me. The teacher seems nice. I am not sure of the grade; it is possibly eleventh grade (but with an intermediate association to make up incomplete work). I seem to be back in Florida. The questions are related to basic mathematics and I easily answer them, as I already had seemingly done this same work a few times before, but it is something to do with time taken over test scoring in this case.

Later, the location of the tests changes to some benches under a large shelter in a large park (but still near a school building). It may be at Lake Katherine. It seems to be at night and it is very dark out (though there is minimal lighting from the ceiling of the open shelter).

I decide to get up and walk around to get a break from the test. I am vaguely aware that I am hovering and floating in the air at times and I become semi-lucid.

In the far distance I see a high mountain to the north. (The school building and park shelter are to the east of where I am standing.) A volcano is erupting, sitting atop the highest area of a larger mountain (instead of the smaller separate volcanic mountain being at ground level) and I see larger rivers of lava flowing down from the mountain on the right side of it and a little more on the left (but not as thick and glowing as the other side). It even seems to be near a high cliff. I have a brief thought about there being no mountains like this in Florida, but I still accept the scene. I run back to my classmates shouting “Volcano, volcano!” and point to the north. There will probably be time to get away, as the volcano is very far away.

I look back and see that the scene looks completely different even though it was beautiful and perfect when I first saw it and there was no doubt that it was “real”. The “volcano” is really close now, but it is only an image on a large billboard that features a Lava Soap advertisement. It is now just across the road from where we are. Also, there is some sort of electrical problem, causing lights to go on and off. (The billboard lights also flash.) I walk around and the other students soon join me. There is something said about the school closing for the night when the teacher returns. I notice that some lights are from a large porch (which is on the other side of the billboard) that extends out over an embankment just off the road. (It seems to be a large back porch but this is not certain.)

I see that there is a very large electric rock tumbler on the porch, which is bigger and about twice as long as an oil barrel and aligned east and west. It is making a loud rumbling and crackling noise and also causing the lights to flicker on and off in the house and high-set open porch (though it seems no one is home). Red muddy waste water is flowing out from a rusty hole in the rock tumbler and it looks vaguely like lava and is flowing under the nearby billboard.

A little later, we are back in the same area. I see a large flow of water, mud, and rocks that is fairly close, and start shouting “Mudslide! Mudslide!” (Perhaps the rock tumbler broke this time.)

I had a rock tumbler when I was much younger, but it was only about the size of a coffee can. They are used to smooth down stones, using about three or four erosive stages (each sand grain grade a size smaller), to make them more suitable for jewelry.

Although this dream features the common porch-as-liminal-space event (waking transition segment), it is atypical, the main difference being that I am not actually on the porch at any point. Still, this is where the essence of the preconscious is visibly active, though not a threat.

    11. A little nightmarish with a taste of Ryuuko's first flight

by , 04-19-2013 at 10:03 AM (The Erratic dreams of StaySharp)
Well this is the first dream in my DJ which I'll tag with nightmare, though it doesn't qualify as a real nightmare since it didn't get me unnerved at all.

I was in my home (which of course looked totally different like always, the rooms were rather thin and long stretched), my girlfriend was present as well but barely participated at all. At some point I had a weird somewhat painful feeling in my mouth and then half of a tooth broke off. I was somewhat annoyed but didn't remotely react to the situation like one would in real life, at some point the half tooth in my hand suddenly was a row of 3 which stuck to each other as well as being half soft and crumbly (really weird consistence). Then the PSU of my PC started to smoke and I just calmly turned off the electricity, one ore 2 more minutes later I had a thought along the lines of "Well fuck all this, this is a dream anyway". (Yeah, even when I have something nightmarish I don't really care)

I don't really know if there was much of an intermission here, maybe just a few seconds maybe 2 minutes.

I thought that I wanted to have a lucid dream, I was sleeping before (definitely didn't open my eyes) but I've just been seeing some phosphenia, I focused on what I've seen and I tried to see grass and a simple green landscape. It was hard but I had success! What I've been seeing slowly morphed and I barely felt my body at all. After a minute or 2 I was in a forest and I turned into Ryuuko as much as I could, I didn't feel much from my new body but at least I had my wings, I used them for strengthened jumps to get up into the trees, but that's where my dream ends already. I lost awareness and woke up soon after.

Well this was my first real DEILD and my first success in really getting into a dream from a state of phosphenia. There's been at least one case before were I was very close already though.
I guess my first WILD may really draw close

    12. His own gas station

      by , 04-19-2013 at 09:31 AM
My memory of this dream starts from the point where I'm at my university, in one of the classrooms on the second floor. I'm sitting next to my best friend and a few tables to the left I see more of my friends. It seems we're about to have a test and the teacher goes around the room to hand out the exam sheets. One of my friends, Feicko, thinks the teacher is cute and makes a pass at her. I don't remember her response because as soon as I looked at Feicko, I remembered that he wanted to have his own gas station and that I promised to support him.

All of a sudden I find myself in my sister's car on the side of the highway and I see some of my friends driving by, and I know they're headed to Feicko's new gas station. As soon as I saw an opening, I joined the traffic on the highway and it just so happens that my best friend is driving behind me in a similar car, the only difference is the color: I'm driving metallic silver and he's driving black. Not far from where I joined the traffic the road bends to the right and I decided to follow it. But then I saw all of my friends exit the highway on the right just before the curb and I immediately step on the brakes, because I don't want to miss this exit and find another way to get back. So I put the car in reverse, back up and take the exit.

Now I'm standing next to the guard rail. I can see Feicko's gas station and although it's easy to reach, I stand there wondering how the hell I'm going to get there. Then all of a sudden one of my teachers from elementary school shows up, only to show me that there is a green mini pipe(exactly like in the super mario games) hidden in the guard rail and that the other end is near the gas station. I try to go inside the pipe, but it's just too small and I tell him that. He says that it's not that difficult, you just have dive in it hand first as if you're jumping in a swimming pool. He then proceeds to tell me that the small size sometimes makes it difficult to get to the end of the tunnel and that he once was stuck just before the end. This freaked me out, because the tunnel went underground and if you were to get stuck, no one would find you and you'd die. After this either my memory of the dream or the dream itself ends.

Too bad I couldn't become lucid this time, despite all the oddities stacking up in front of my eyes . Well, next time I'll succeed!

    13. Unbroken

      by , 04-19-2013 at 02:40 AM
I was going to give you some back story on Saja and Liam, but it seemed incredibly stupid when I typed it out. I often become Saja and almost every time I have a lucid dream I go looking for Liam.
      Lucid
      Non-Lucid
      False Awakening
The layout of my house is huge. It also seems to share something of the more important houses I have lived
in. It is also, in part, Lowe's. I'm making my way down a wide hallway with cream-yellow walls and dark walnut trim and flooring. This part looks a little like my house in MA. I take a right at the end of the hall, the next one has a heavy dark walnut door with little lanterns on either side. I open the door and outside is the Lowe's parking lot. There are racks of flowers on either side, and then standing placidly between them is a team of horses hitched to a small wagon. It's a string of six. Well, I guess they're ponies. They are all paints, and only one of them is black and white, with black flecks all across his coat. I look at that one fondly. All the others are variations of chestnut and white.
I decide I want to ride one. I almost choose the last one in the train but he's tethered at the back of the others,
so I pass him by and walk to the less pretty first horse. This one is mostly chestnut and has very little white aside from a diamond marking and some white in his mane. The top of their heads are even with mine, making them fairly small.
I'm pleased by how small they are because I'm short, and I can climb onto his back without standing on something. I straddle the pony and grip his mane. He starts walking forward. The dream feels more vivid here, like before I was just on the edge of lucidity and now I've found it. I start experimenting with control, using my mind to change his path since I don't have any kind of reins. The parking lot is cold, there's some snow on the ground, and few cars. I lead the horse back toward the door and slide to the ground. I pat his neck. Something startles me, and I can't actually remember what. I run inside and slam the door, then take off down the hallway. Hoping that they didn't see me, and that if they did I'll be too far into the house for them to know where I've gone.

There's a lapse, I'm in the same building but this time it looks more like Lowe's. The aisle is also open
to the outdoors. A co-worker is talking to me. I stare at the wall behind him trying to figure out what's different about it. What's there that shouldn't be?
"....Did they put a bathroom here?" I ask, a little incredulous. This is one of my aisles after all.
"Why yes, it looks like they did." He says. I stare at the blue wall, which is just like the stalls in the bathroom. I can see the
      seams now.
"There's no handle on the door, must not be finished."
Somehow I know this is the Women's stall, and there's a Men's room a couple aisles over.
My co-worker wanders off outside and again I feel like I'm on the edge of lucidity, then pushing into it. It's a beautiful day out, and suddenly I wonder what the exterior of the building looks like. I run outside, feeling unnaturally fast. This section is actually a second floor, set higher than the main part of the building. The concrete is new and yellow-white. I run along, rushing past my co-worker who says something I can't remember. I fling the door open and run inside...

Another lapse and I'm in a hospital-like section. I'm here for tests? I think? I need to go to the bathroom
first. I walk down a long, wide hallway. It feels deserted. At the end is a bathroom. I can't figure out what's weird about it, despite the fact that there aren't stalls and there are just chairs by the sink. At first I think the chairs are toilets, until I sit down on one and realize it is, in fact, a chair. The cushion is yellow, wider at the front lip and more narrow by the back of the chair. I frown at it, I really need to go.
The room is kind of C or [ shaped. I go further inside, it's all white-pink tile with pale pink stalls. Finally!
The bottom of the stall panels are tall enough for me to duck under. I go into the first stall and am disgusted to see flecks of urine on the seat. I hear someone else come into the bathroom, and I'm suddenly embarrassed. Even as I'm doing it I wonder why. I duck under the wall and go into the next stall. And then into the next one. Which...puts me in a kind of mail room. It's dimly lit and there are bags as tall as my hips full of mail, with people rushing in and out. An old man with white hair is directing them.
"Trying to find the bathroom?" he asks.
      "Yeah.."
Behind him I notice the wall is the side of a stall. He gestures to it. I smile and duck underneath. It puts me on the far side of a
string of stalls. When I turn the corner I'm walking with a tallish black girl, wearing a green t-shirt, her hair is pulled back into a fluffy bun. I feel a moment of vertigo. I hear myself say that I'm Saja and that 'd been looking for her everywhere. What had I just been doing? Something odd happens here, my vision doubles and I'm standing a couple feet from the black girl and a slightly taller willowy woman with long brown hair. I've separated from the woman, like I'd just been inside her. I can see the back of my head, the wavy black hair. I've become Saja.

"Hey!" I call after them. The girl in the green didn't hear me, but the other woman tenses and when I call
after her again she glances at me, whip quick. Then pretends I don't exist.
"Hey, I KNOW you!" I say. She looks extremely uncomfortable and leaves as quickly as she can without breaking into a run.
The girl in the green looks startled, and suddenly I become real to her. The woman had been pretending to be me.
"Who are you? What just happened?"
      "I am Saja."
      "Do you know her?"
"Yeah..." I say something I can't remember. I look up at her. I'm little next to her, she's almost a head taller than me.
We walk out of the bathroom, next to it is a kind of study with a long table. It's dim and cozy, dark red walls, a banked fire, bookshelves lining the walls.
      "
Can you use magic?" She asks me curiously.
I smile a little, walking over the threshold behind the girl. "I am magic."
There are people gathered around the table. A male dc sitting across from us is trying to influence the dream by telling them all 'my' story.
"How do you know anything about her? Your family is broken, disgraceful. Thieves and murderers, all. Why, your father could
come in here right now and murder us all--slit our throats where we sit." I can feel the others start to believe him, but what's the benefit of being lucid if I can't change anything.
"That sure would be a trick, wouldn't it? Considering he's dead." The man is staring hard at me, and it takes me a minute to
realize that I'm lying. "I killed him myself, murdered the bastard in his sleep."
Another moment of vertigo, the man is smirking at me, like he wanted me to say all that. "No wait." I amend. "That isn't my story at all. You want to hear my story? All of it?" He rolls his eyes and leaves the table. The green t-shirt girl and a few others sit down. I remain standing.
"Have you ever heard of the Serpent?"
The all give me blank looks.
"Alright then, I'll tell you about It." I try to decide where to start. I try to tell them about Ru-em, the province I'm from in
the Midlands, and how our culture developed, how we learned to plant and harvest. Then I shake my head, trying to clear it. That's not where I want to start. "There is a creature, on the edge of existence. It moves from world to world, consuming all in its path." Someone rolls their eyes at me, bored. The girl in the green t-shirt is rapt.
"It's massive, as big as the sky." I can see it, the purple-black scar against a clear blue sky. How the world shook. "Ancient.
It crashed through our reality and into the earth, and down into the Spirit of our world. Which it would eat until nothing remained."
I move around the table, to a smaller one in the corner. The girl and a couple others follow me. I sit down and they take the seats across the table. There's a small spiral notebook.
"It wasn't really serpent-like." I pick up a pen and begin to draw. "More...like a--" I think a slug, but decide not to say that out
loud. "Like a whale and a manta-ray and--"
      "And a worm?"
      "Kind of like that, yes."
She stares down at my small drawing, the ridges by the tail fin. "It looks scary."
"It is." I pause, thinking that no one wants that horror to visit their door. I look down at the paper and decide I want to write
something down. I open a pen and write "Saja is magic."
It's clearly legible, actual words. The ink is a little thin, but I can't have everything.
I tug at the cap of a marker and worry for a second that this effort is going to wake me up. The dream wavers as I pull off the cap and settles again when I set marker tip to paper.
"Liam is alive." Instead of black, the words come out pale translucent green. The tip has split so the letters, while I know what they are, blur together.
I try to write it again, but the tip is still messed up. I stare at the notebook and smile. What am I doing here, playing these little games? I could be off looking for Liam. I leave the table and then the room, when I reach the hall I start to call out for him.
"Liam! Liiiiiaaaam? Are you here?" I call out several variations and my eyes are drawn to a window. For some reason the blinds
are on the outside. 1" aluminum blinds. I see blue eyes and then a smile through the slats. My heart pounds with excitement. It's never been so easy to find him! The man opens the window and I rush to meet him. I pull up short as he's trying to dip inside. It's not Liam. Not even close.
He's scrawny, medium-height, with gray-brown hair and sharp blue eyes. His teeth are crooked and yellow, he's dressed all in black. Skull-cap, jacket, jeans. All black. I frown at him.
      "Who are you? Where's Liam?"
      "What d'ya mean 'where's Liam', Liam's dead."
Panic grips me for a second but I refuse to believe him. "You're lying, he can't be dead. I would know."
"Wooould you?" He has an accent, faintly Scottish. "From all the way over here?"
      "I would."
"I don't know what to tell you, swee-heart. He's definitely dead. Been dead a long time."
"Stop saying that!" I yell, twisting my hand into a fist in his jacket. "He isn't dead!"
"Suit yerself. Don't say I didn't warn ye." He laughs at me, I hate how amused he is at my expense.

I'm in my bed. I can hear talking in the other room, thinking my boyfriend is watching something on his computer. I get up, decide to ask him if he wants something to eat. The voices get a little louder and I distinctly remember hearing them on the episode of Revenge I watched before laying down. I approach his door, which is cracked open. I wonder if he's watching Revenge, something he never watches. I go inside. His bed doesn't look right, it's all gold and red. There's a woman wearing blue striped shorts and a white tank top curled up along his legs near the foot of the bed.
What? I frown at the form huddled under the blankets. He turns restlessly and it's not my boyfriend at all.
"God damn it, I'm still dreaming." I say, surprised. The man blinks awake and startles into a sitting position.
"What are you doing in here?"
Before he can even finish the sentence I glance to the wall behind me. It has a wide window, I recognize it as one of the rooms from the building. I grin and run to it, open it and shove the screen out. I throw myself out and land in the hallway down below.

I land at the foot of a concrete staircase. At the top is a door with a sign above it saying who is broadcasting inside and has radio station numbers.

I can hear them through a speaker by the door. "Just like Jack and Ron except, me, obviously like Jack, doesn't have a problem clearing the saliva from my throat." It makes his voice sound less thick. A man comes outside and notices me listening, he tips his hat to me but my eyes kind of slide around him. He's tall, wearing a black ball cap a dark green t-shirt and black knee length shorts.
A tv screen on the wall at the top of the stairs flickers to life. It features a short blonde woman who looks vaguely like Amanda Bynes, wearing a bring pink uniform and hat, standing under a spotlight in a black room. She is trying to act out their radio show and is getting mixed reactions.

I frown, what am I doing? I was looking for Liam. I find I'm standing in front of the tv, I head back down the stairs. The hall there ends in a glass door with a metal bar across the middle. I push it open and rush outside, calling for him. The dream feels brittle, like it's about to fall apart. The walls are...papery. Thin. A man on a motorcycle rushes past me and stops. He flips up the visor and for a second he looks exactly like Liam. I rush to him and him to me. He pulls of the helmet. The closer he gets the less he looks like Liam. It takes me a second to realize it though.
      "Are you him?" I ask.
He looks puzzled. My heart sinks a little when I realize he's a stranger. "No, you're not, are you."
      He smiles apologetically.
Wouldn't he be here if he were alive? Maybe he really is dead. The man from earlier moves up beside me.
      "I told ya."
      "Stop it." I snap.
"Tried to warn ya." He says. The buildings to either side of me are beginning to break apart, like sand in the wind.
I realize I am close to waking and I try to focus to hold it together a little longer.I ignore him. Even from here I can see muddy black waves crash through a line of structures, tearing them to shreds and beginning to flood the parking lot from 3 sides. I stand and observe.
"What do you think will happen if I let it have me?" I ask, I feel a little hopeless and wrung out. What's the point of anything if
      Liam is dead?
      "Likely you'll die."
I stare at the water. It's consuming the building closest to me.
"Here, step on that." The man shuffles a large thin piece of blue foam board at me. "Fat lot of good it'll do you."
He then escapes back the way we came. The water lifts the foam board, it starts to float away under a black truck. I step onto the corner, and it rises with the water. Water takes the path behind me, it's too late to run now. The board won't last me long, there's no way it can stand up to the raging water. Cool air blows the hair back from my face. The board is swept from under me and I remain in the air. I flap my arms like a bird and rise above the water, deciding I'm not quite ready to die. People beside the front of the Lowe's/Hospital/House are pointing up at me in awe. The water is receding, leaking away from the parking lot. I see a small group beside what looks like a...firetruck shaped like a four wheeler. I direct myself toward it, the police officer there is tall and fair skinned. He has bright blue eyes and I can see a little red under his hat. He holds his hand out to receive me as I alight on the top of the ladder extending from the top of the four wheeler. He helps me down. The top of my head barely reaches his shoulder. He looks strikingly like Liam but I know it isn't him, this man is only an echo. He knows exactly who I am though.
"You look just like him, you know."
He takes it as a compliment and smiles a little. "Thank you."
The police officer/Liam Echo turns away from me and speaks to the small group of survivors.
"Let's head inside where they are waiting to treat any injuries." He touches the brim of his hat when he glances at me, and then
his eyes rest on a legless woman in a wheel-chair with an IV drip. He says it's a miracle she survived. Given her health problems, the quality of her existence, I wonder if it might not be kinder if she had died. I'm not mean enough to say it though. He leads them inside, there's an emergency room bay just over the threshold.
Beside the door is a table. I walk to it. I notice there's an egg sitting in the middle of it. I pick it up and it slips from my hand, cracking against the table. It makes a noise like breaking, like it's boiled, but when I shake it I can hear the yolk. I test it between my hands and cracks spider out from the palms of my hands.
Now I'm curious. I throw it at the ground and the shell breaks away, but the yolk remains egg-shaped. Tough but still obviously a liquid. I begin to laugh, the revelation hitting me like a stone. I'm extremely delighted.
Of course, this is the message my subconscious wanted to send. Though the egg looked fragile, it could never actually have been broken.
I pick up the yolk, thinking to show the police officer. He seemed like he would enjoy a neat epiphany like this.
"Hey! Check this out!" He turns to face me and I throw the yolk. He isn't expecting it so he misses entirely and it breaks in
the most awkward spot. The crotch of his pants.
"Oh...I am so sorry! I just....wanted...to show you the egg!" I start laughing again, he looks a little amused and bewildered
and embarrassed. I leave, my last view of him is him trying to brush away the yolk. I decide it's time to wake up.

    14. Nightmare - Menthol

      by , 04-18-2013 at 06:09 PM
      12 am S
3 am W drank a strong peppermint tea (three tea bags). back to bed at 330. didn't actually get back to sleep for a while after that
4-430 am S had to be closer to 4 considering all the dreams.
5 am W - nightmare, wrote everything down and went back to sleep an hour later
      6 am S
      9 am W - final

Had gone to my grandmothers house when she wasn't there ((nothing like their RL house)). I cleaned up some stuff on a counter and when they got home told them I had. 'thats nice dear'. There was someone there they didn't like.
      Transition
My grandparents were no longer around and the house was a little different. K and B were behind a bar and in a kitchen. Me, L, and random guy were in the living room. ...sexins ensue... i'm invited to play with K and B and go around to do so. i cant seem to kiss K right - something just keeps feeling 'off'.
      Transition
I'm in some sort of apartment. The guy 'next to' us (it was kind of embedded in our apartment and connected to another apartment network as well (used shadow memory of a previous dream to briefly touch on what that network looked like - I was never there in the dream)). had just installed an awesome AC system. The controls were in our apartment though. Apparently they had to wire it that way because of the buildings design. They guy there came out and talked with me, my mate, and a friend of his. They all started talking about some game and/or the computer. At some point I was outside the apt along with the neighbor guy. One of my cats (oci) was there as well - he slinked back into the apt - clearly uncomfortable where he had been. i think i was smoking outside. while the guys were looking at a comp, I started focusing on a magazine. I got about 1/3 - 1/2 way in when it got to the main article. It was all on a movie that was coming out soon. It was filled with gory shot after gory shot - all stark whites and reds. It started with an image of a chick kinda grainy and turning her head - very reminiscent of the grudge. I told my mate that I wouldn't be able to see this movie - too disturbing. I keep flipping though and the article doesn't end - the rest of the magazine is nothing but those disturbing images. I close the magazine.

      Spoiler for Nightmare:

((this dream was really confusing to write - the location kept changing in my memory. i might have been mixing two different timelines))
There was some sort of fungus being spread on all the pot crops - government conspiracy. Wanted to find and hide the little bit that I had, but the cops got there too soon. They weren't after pot though. Eventually it was just a large group of people being held in a smallish space At some point in the dream the space was larger - like two houses to either side, one above, and a common area in between. Some of the 'prisoners' were organizing a resistance. They met up above. There was a slip of paper with someones # hidden on it. I was trying to find it and somehow call them - they could end this captivity. They guys name was Travis or Tailor or some other T word - I don't think it was actually a name, but it slipped away quickly. A person's head was snapped in front of me by invisible hands - she knew too much and was going to spread that knowledge. A friend was getting pulled out of the captivity 'room'. She was special in some way - had money or friend in really high places. They said they were neither holding nor not holding her and moved her elsewhere (i'm assuming somewhere nicer).

((So, i'm thinking that the Peppermint tea Definitely had an effect on my dreams. Dont know if i will ever try that again though as the nightmare was extremely vivid and disturbing.))

((oh yeah, when i was writing in my DJ after waking up at 9, i realized i had tool's song parabola running through my head))

    15. I will fight off kidnappers with martial arts

      by , 04-18-2013 at 11:33 AM
      Went to bed around 10:00pm

11:30 kidnapper in a car garage in our van wants to take my kids - I retaliate, I rescue the kids, I prepare to fight using martial arts which i don't know in real life. I felt sure that I would win. I don't remember dreaming the actual fight - i think the dream ended on my intension to fight and sureness of winning. It felt very empowering. A surprisingly vivid dream for this early in the night. A typical mother protects her kids dream.

"12-30 this us a reas," - at first I assumed that I was not awake enough to make sense while typing. But now given my struggles with typing in the morning, I assume that I just did not double heck the result. It could have been a clear sentence in my mind.

4:00 cannot remember anything and distracted by my husband while trying to recall
