Lucid #186: Michael Scott Vs. the Zombies

The cast of The Office is sitting around in a big room that looks like a warehouse with a random bathroom stall stuck in the middle of it. Michael Scott is attempting to give a rousing speech to cheer everyone up but instead just makes everyone feel really uncomfortable.

“Cheer up, gang,” says Michael, flashing a toothy grin. Everyone slinks down in their seats. Stanley looks back disdainfully. “Everyone, you are about to experience one of the best things about my youth… the 1980s.”

The scene changes into a video game where I’m now playing as Michael Scott from a first-person perspective. I see some cash lying on the seat of a toilet. As I gingerly try to pick up the money, I realize that I can’t take it because my cash is already “full” in this game.

There’s an abrupt shift into the front of a restaurant. An unseen female voice narrates: “In this scenario, Michael must act violent and unstable so he can gather information about <something something>...” I see a zombie shuffling around at the base of a short set of nearby stairs. I vault over the rail and kick him in the face mid-leap. This is great fun. I remember my intent to have a lucid dream, so I decide that I can’t get too into this video game or I might forget. And it finally hits me that
I’m dreaming right now.

A huge, balding zombie comes shambling toward me and I punch him in the face. I leave the room and move into another hallway, relaxing my mind until the zombies stop coming toward me and instead just pass harmlessly by without paying me much attention.

I reach a bend in the hall, rub my hands together, and move toward a large, open area. Just then, a female zombie puts a hand on my shoulder and groans. I’m relaxed about this and say, “You,” (I point at her), “are a dream character!” She smiles, her face changing until she looks like my high school English teacher. Then she walks away.

The room I’ve entered is a huge atrium with a glass roof, 5 or 6 stories high. Two young women, maybe college age, are seated at a table handing out some kind of literature. I’m mildly curious what they have to say but I see a nighttime street scene just through the door. I’m having huge trouble remembering my goals so I think it’d be better to get outside.

I get outside, start to fly, and then abruptly have
a false awakening back in bed. I’m staring at the alarm clock. Oddly, rather than showing the time, it’s counting down from 9. I have no idea what this means. I hear Wife whimpering in her sleep next to me. She says, “If people look into my brain, they’ll steal my ideasssssss…”

The alarm clock hits 1, goes dark for a moment, and then starts at 9 again. I realize that I’m still dreaming, but it’s just a moment before
I wake up for real.
2. Laura the Monster Slayer?

by , 02-16-2014 at 08:08 PM
It's a little unclear, especially the beginning, I'll try to see what all I can remember...I was at my place of work (Alamo Drafthouse Cinema), I guess in the main hallway because there were lots of lockers. Some of my co-workers were vampires. I wasn't really afraid, I didn't see them as a major threat, they weren't trying to attack me. I'm not sure if I realized it at this point in the dream, but later on I was aware that I was a vampire slayer. However, in the beginning, I felt like I was friends with them or maybe even a vampire also. But apparently one of them (Andy?) had been bitten by a werewolf and was turning into a weird hybrid. That I was afraid of.
Somewhere along the way, the dream scenery changed briefly. One of my co-worker's mother's was throwing away... a model window? It was like a miniature version of the big window in my bedroom, even had the colorful cloth with the Ajna symbol above it like I do IWL (in waking life). I couldn't believe they were throwing it away, I wanted to keep it for some reason. Then I realize there was a smaller one stacked inside of the bigger one. Felt like I couldn't take them both? So I decided to leave the smaller one and take the bigger one. It felt sturdy, like it was made of metal.
Back to the work scenery. My were-coworker had bitten someone else before I could stop him! I felt like the werewolves were more dangerous - faster, stronger, more primal - than the vampires, and the were-vamp hybrids were even more-so. Very quickly more and more people were being turned. They wanted to turn me, like it was their mission. I became lucid at some point around here, and was trying to take complete control to fight them. I couldn't make the things I wanted to materialize come about. I wanted a flame thrower, I figured it was the fastest most effective way to fight them off, so I started pretending like I had one in my hands trying to set them on fire but it wasn't working. I did have a steak from the first part of the dream and was fighting them with that, but it was difficult, there were so many of them. I decided since I couldn't make a better weapon just appear out of thin air, I would find one. Began trying to open the lockers to get better weapon. I thought for sure that would work, but locker after locker I just kept finding shoes. =| Really cute shoes I wanted haha. Most of them were browns and blacks, with heels. Finally I called out loud something like "Why do I keep finding shoes?" to see if my subconscious would tell me what they symbolized/why I kept getting them instead of a weapon. I got an answer, just a voice going through the hallway (which I think now more resembled a school hallway) but I couldn't hear the answer clearly (I've had that same issue before in past lucid experiences when trying to ask my subconscious questions). I tried asking for the message again more clearly, but it didn't come. I felt like the answer I didn't hear well was a bullshit answer, something like "Because it's just what you do"? Whatever. Thanks for nothing, subconscious. Still fighting off were-vamps and checking lockers when I'm able, I finally come across a straight razor, like for shaving. Also, since I became lucid I tried doing some really bad-ass fighting moves, like back flips and other gymnastics type stuff. It didn't feel like I had total good control so I was sort of able to, but it felt slow and sloppy. I tried slitting someone's throat with the razor, it didn't work out that well. It was like it just made a little cut. Hmph. I ended up in a "locker room" in a part with a bunch of showers. There were a few girls showering in there. I felt like all of my co-workers had been turned but for some reason I wasn't worried about all of them attacking me, just most of them. I think I was trying to hide in one of the showers? But they didn't have curtains and weren't really good for hiding so.. yeah, they definitely found me. Around this point, I was frustrated with trying to fight them all off and it not really working and I finally realized maybe that wasn't the point. I remembered something I had read before about dreams where people are being chased, confronting what's chasing them. I decided maybe I had to just let them get me to understand the meaning of the dream, and I wasn't afraid since I knew it was a dream. I was ready to surrender. So I told them "Ok, I'll let you guys change me if it's done by Garret and David" (two guys at work I think could be different sort of people from everyone else, and I'd be most likely to be interested in if I weren't already attached to someone). I think they went to get the guys. Very fuzzy here, I may have changed my mind and said Andy can just do it to get it over with already. Then I guess I woke up before it happened.
3. 1/25/14 - animals fighting stairs

by , 01-25-2014 at 08:01 PM (Leaving the matrix)
I'm in this strange house, people from all MTV reality shows are walking around the halls and up and down the stairs, and they have naked skin tails, and they begin to fight like animals. I walk past them and marvel at how animal like the people are, the way they act. I go up the stairs before one of them goes after me, then I go into this lit up bright room from the daylight outside a window. There's a desk and an old man sitting there and another chair. I go and sit down and he tells me about stuff, I don't pay attention. Then we are outside at this handball court at the part near my house, it's me and two men, this bell shaped UFO appears in front of us and we back up against the cement wall of the handball court. I turn to them and see they are frightened, then a bright white beam come from out from th bell and shines on us, it begins to drag our bodies into the air towards it, but we all grab onto loose rocks, the guy to the farthest end loses his grip and is sucked into the bell. And leaves us. Then I'm back in that building, I hurry to the up stairs towards the office, but the stairs have changed, I guess which room is right and I was correct, I go and sit in the chair before, and wait. Then the other guy who was with runs in and sits in a chair and waits. Then finally the old man comes, he's wearing a USA astronaut suit, and he laughs at us, we get up and push him because we know it was him who got abducted and he came back like this like it was a joke or weird plan or something, then we begin to storm out but he stops us and says something, I don't listen again, then it's a different scene and me and the other guy are in this back yard, we hop a fence and her sits down, then I hop another fence, and he turns into a girl and is dancing behind the fence but her head is above it because she's tall enough, I see her leg go up higher than her head, but I can see through the wood fence because the slits, and I see her holding fake legs and her real leg standing her there, I tell her stop trying to fool me, then I hop another fence away from her and bust into this abandoned old house, and see begin to walk passed this old emerald and gold dresser, but then I see light seep out, so I stop and turn to it, and open the doors and see a doll, I yell at it for hiding from me, then it speaks and says I wasn't ready and then it gets this horrifying look, so I throw it to the ground and run into the dresser, and go through the gold riffles of light.
4. The One Where I Fight Samuel L. Jackson

Lucid #179: The One Where I Fight Samuel L. Jackson

I have a false awakening but I notice that I’m alone (Wife is missing) and the bed has been turned 90 degrees. Right away I realize that this is a dream.

Something grabs me by the leg, pulls me out of the bed, and drags me to the floor. I look up and Samuel L. Jackson is standing over me! He says something along the lines of “You’re not going anywhere,” and starts to stomp down at me. I think that I should do some tricky/clever dream control thing but I feel too much like I’m in a fight to get it together.

We struggle for a moment until I manage to get my arm wrapped around his ankle, push my foot into his crotch, and then push up, lifting him off of his feet. He falls onto his back and we wrestle around kind of grabbing at each other’s feet to gain control. His head looks close enough to reach so I lash out, kicking him straight in the face. He flops back and stops moving.

I sit up and as I approach Samuel L. Jackson, he changes into a smallish, delicate-looking woman in her mid-20s. She looks Mediterranean and overall completely different from Samuel L. Jackson. “Help me, I’m pretty hurt...” she says, sitting up just a little bit. I feel bad for her, so I pick her up and carry her with me. I notice that she’s very cute but the fact that 15 seconds ago she was Samuel L. Jackson makes me quite uninterested.

We phase through the wall of the house out into the night. I want it to be morning, so I do a hulk-jump or two, expecting the time of day to shift. It does, and before long it’s early morning. We’re on a sidewalk outside of a cafe with a canvas awning.

I walk inside the cafe to find Wife sitting at a table with two strangers, one a heavy, hipster-looking guy and the other a pretty woman in her early 30s with short, brown hair. “I’m having a lucid dream,” I tell them, mostly to explain the fact that I’ve just carried a woman into the cafe with me.

“Ah,” says Wife, giving me a “Oh, another one of those” kind of look. I join them at the table along with the woman formerly known as Samuel L. Jackson, who now seems relatively unhurt and integrates herself naturally into the conversation. The hipster and the brown-haired woman are authors and they’re talking with Wife about their new book. The conversation is strange and it’s hard to understand details.

I’m also distracted by the food. There are little plates of small chocolate bars that I keep sampling. They taste delicious but they fade too quickly, almost as if they were so light and insubstantial that you only get a moment to taste them. At one point, Wife remarks, “He even thinks this is dream food.”

“I admit it, I do!” I say. Everyone chuckles like I’m an amusing eccentric.

Somehow the scene changes to a featureless room with three books lying on the floor. The two writers and the woman who once was Samuel L. Jackson walk out through the door, chatting about something.

I examine the second book. It’s by the writers we ate with and it’s about how early civilizations made fantastic technological leaps forward by using ideas that came to them in lucid dreams. I’m excited by the whole premise of the book. I really believe that it must be true. (I'm also partly offended that they acted so skeptical that I was having a lucid dream.)

“I really want to read this book,” I tell Wife, and she agrees that it sounds right up my alley. Now that we’re alone, I enjoy a little time making out with Wife
until the dream ends.
5. The Rivals

This dream is from the morning of 1/1/2014.

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #177: The Rivals

I'm sitting at a table with Wife looking through some photos when I somehow become lucid. She steps away from the table and leaps onto a nearby bed, posing and smiling seductively. I feel super amorous and move eagerly toward her. But to the side of me, I notice four other guys moving toward her, all of them looking just as eager as me. Wife looks playfully at each of us as if she's choosing.

I'm so angered by this turn of events that I punch the closest rival in the face. He crumples to the floor, his face immediately becoming a bruised mess. He shrinks into a little troll monster with a pinched, sour expression and then just sits there, not moving. Now the other men have all vanished and I leap triumphantly onto the bed and sexytime commences.

We get about fifteen seconds of fun before Wife does this strange transformation into a half-sized Wife replica doll. Total mood killer. I pick up the doll and it's light as a feather. I feel sad and guilty, wondering if my attack on the DC caused this. I walk out the door carrying the doll and it transforms into a slightly wilted bouquet of flowers before disappearing entirely.

Now I'm in some sort of indoor carnival. I walk past a vendor with curly, slightly 80s-looking hair and a mustache. I slow down and note how vivid everything is. I remember that it's been a few weeks since my last lucid and I reflect on what a shock it is to experience the realness of lucid dreaming after some time off.

I approach a circle of benches and there's Wife, sitting by herself on the right side of one. I approach her calmly, hoping I can keep her DC more stable this time. She looks up at me and we smile at one another as the
dream ends.

Dream 1 : I am on a mountain with a lot of people. We're bicycling. We decide to split into two teams and one of the team goes to the top and the other one goes down(I'm in the team that goes to the top). I go up a bit and realise I forgot something from a guy that is in the other team. Accidentally, I fall from the mountain right near that guy. He gives me a backpack and then we decide to get back into one team and we start bicycling to the top.
Dream 2 : I'm in my bed and I decide to check if someone interesting was on kvirc because I was bored. When I go on the computer there's new chat room in there(Orangeish color). I see Hathor28 and she keeps writing stuff I don't remember.I start talking with her and she says that she can't sleep.
Dream 3 : I'm in my room and there's a ghost that keeps following me. The ghost says I have some powers and it tries to teach me them. I try telekinesis and I have A BIT of success at it. That bit was the ghost moving things, not me. The dream skips at a burned mansion and there are other people trying to learn magic and stuff. We fight a lot of monsters but we still lose. This girl with black hair and grey eyes (and a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice armor) does some weird movements with her hands and gives all of her power to this guy near her. She dies and the power goes to the guy and he starts doing weird parkour stuff and kills all the monsters.
Dream 4 : I'm in school and everyone gets an armor to role-play. Me and my classmates run to our classroom and start roleplaying. Everyone talks with each other but when I try to talk with someone I get totally ignored. We go and sit in our seats and wait for the teacher. Eventually, the teacher comes and puts a guy from our class at the blackboard for resolving a math problem. I stand up and tell the teacher that what he is doing on the blackboard is wrong and I run there. I stand near the blackboard realising that I actually know nothing and I start laughing.
Dream 5 (fragment) : Something about my profile picture getting cut.
7. Six dreams

by , 12-11-2013 at 10:48 PM
I kept waking up due to pain in my throat, so I ended up with six dream fragments. These are my dreams in chronological order.

DILD:

A friend I know in real life is walking beside me in the autumn woods just behind her house. She looks a bit strange to me, inflated like a balloon and stretched around the eyes, but I don't pay much attention to it. The path we're walking is clear through the brush and a light dusting of snow hides under thick branches. I already know where we're going: A large circular camp with an odd hide tent and fire-pit that has died in the cold gusts.
We both have guns slung over our shoulders (a Ruger M77 for me and a Ross rifle for her if anyone's interested) and mine was cooler! By the time we reach the encampment she silently moves behind the tent. I thought that was kind of odd, but whatever. It's a dream, weird shit happens. Seconds later, I hear a shoot ring out, and a bullet whips by my face. I got to seeeee the bullet. My dreams are the best bros ever.
Because I'm awesome in both my real hunting and dream hunting, apparently, I swing the rifle off my shoulder in a fluid move and engage the bullet. It only takes a moment for me to aim from twenty yards and pull the trigger.
Dream ends. Saltwater is gurgled and Benadryl is taken in copious amounts.

Slightly graphic
WILD:

I'm sitting in someone's living room with a government-style dossier in my lap. Paper targets litter the floor and the bulls-eyes are ripped apart by large-caliber bullets. The dull sofa I'm chilling like a baws on is torn and stained in more place than the dreaming human mind can count.
So, I open the flimsy paper book and a severed human head greets me. His skull is ripped open in five spots that look to be about .22-size organized in a triangular shape but it looks to have been bleached under water. A vague sense of familiarity encases the picture when I realize I passed the guy on the street last week.
This carries on with multiple people I can barely consider acquaintances: A late cashier I saw being yelled at by their boss, an elderly lady I helped walk across the street and another foolish skateboarder who fell trying to jump eight steps. Each had nearly identical wounds to the first but the last picture has thin blunt force trauma instead of entry wounds. Guess which one.
Dreams ends. I wake up coughing slightly.

DEILD:

I'm in a gigantic skate park in the middle of the night. I'm not on a skateboard: I'm on a hoverboard. With a laser gun. Not a ton to this dream: I just hovered(?) around shooting other people on their boards between my sweet moves. Nobody else was recognizable due to a paintball-esque suit, but I didn't the feeling that I knew them. You know how your dream tells you stuff like this. But, when someone got shot and fell off their board, they disintegrated on the floor in pixel-like dust.
I didn't win, but I didn't lose either by the time the dream ended.

DEILD:

So I was a swan. A black swan, precisely. I'm not really sure why, but when I tried to move my arms they were big black wings. "Oh, I'm a black swan!" Not gonna argue with my mind there. I flippered, floppered, swan-walked around a little on a strange little hill before I decided to go flying.
It was pretty awesome. One of the better dream flights I've had, because I felt the need to actually FLAP and all. But I knew what would make it cooler: Mid-air fights. Another swan, maybe. I just let my mind process it. Before I had time to really react, three Arado Ar 76 (German jet fighters) pull out of the clouds.
Aaaand, I spit fireballs at them, from my awesome black beak. Rolling, diving, twisting and turning around the pit-patters of machine gun fire and then fireworks as I ignited their engines. Every time I put a plane down another one came out of the clouds until the sun set.
Dream ends. More saltwater gurgling.

WILD:

This one was pretty awesome. When I used to LD a LOT, I created this thing called the Hallway. I used the Hallway as a cool way to access dreams I could remember or plot-lines that my subconscious would be cool. Basically, my mind's eye thinks it's this insanely tall, narrow corridor that stretches out longer than I can see, with monotone brown doors on both sides. Each door has plaque on it where I can "write" whichever dream or things I want in my dream.
I got to revisit the Hallway again, and I picked a dream that looked exactly like the Hallway, because I figured that'd be awesome dream-ception. When I stepped into the new hallway, however, there was only one door. And a centaur behind me. Just as I was stepping through the next door after dodging a charging centaur, the dream ended.
I had to get up and do some crap, but I just passed out on my bed later.

Non-lucid dream:

I was playing a violin. I have no clue how to play violin, but it sounded quite nice. As I played the violin, however, surges of strange colors would flood my vision and twist the environment like I was stuck in a kaleidoscopic tube. There's not much I can say other than each note turned into a specific color or in a predictable way. Associating sound with visual context would be a cool way to learn music in real life, though.
8. Slower Motion Within Slow Motion

by , 12-09-2013 at 10:06 AM
Morning of December 9, 2013. Monday.

My dream, mostly with lucid focus, begins as a sort of practice in martial arts in a building that has a long hallway (south to north). It seems to be on the second floor and seems vaguely modeled after the King Street boarding house though with partial layouts reminiscent of my high school in Florida. Over time, I deliberately do all of my movements in slow motion, which seems kind of hilarious. I run down the hallway (in a sort of leaping run) and it feels very “real” in the sense of the slow motion aspects.

Another person comes up to me, but I just punch him in the jaw. It seems that he also has the ability to move in slow motion on his own and it is also hilarious as he starts to fall backwards in slow motion but is able to stabilize himself and stay standing somehow - which is good, as he was smaller and weaker and I did not want to actually hurt him. (I actually wait for seemingly a long time to see if he recovers as such as he is falling - or seems to be falling - in slow motion.) Another person decides to make an annoying comment (I can tell this by some sort of telepathic awareness), but (just as he approaches and before he opens his mouth to speak) I deliberately place them into a much slower slow motion than the present ongoing slow motion speed. I figure that by the time others and I leave the martial arts school, he will only just then start to form his mouth into the first word of what he was originally going to say and no one will be there to hear him. That also seems hilarious.

9. Last Weeks Dreams

by , 11-25-2013 at 01:36 PM
18Nov13
Underground in some dirty gloomy place. It's quite dark as well. A bunch of combatants are gathered there and are forced to fight to the death. The combatants I recall specifically is a female ninja with a chain and spike type weapon and a large man with a huge scimitar. The dream transitions to myself being there with someone yelling at me that I let Snow die.

19Nov13
It's a nice sunny day at a huge lake. I'm running along the shore with another guy. We are fleeing from a group of people who are chasing us from a boat. We run into a robed humanoid creature with tentacle face like an octopus/squid. Guy I'm with attacks it's face with a large knife.

21Nov13
There's a pirate ship with a girl dancing on deck. I'm somewhere else. The dancing girl goes through a door below decks, and finds herself in a small cabin. In the room is an old sailor sleeping. He stands up and start spinning and dancing with the girl. Now I'm the one there with the girl dancing. We kiss and fall back on the bed. I wake up.

23Nov13
In some subterranean environment. There's multiple clans residing within the cavernous space. Each clan has there own fortress and all the clans are warring. My friend and I are apparently upset with our place within the clan so we plan to sneak away. Our fort gets attacked and we slip into a lower tunnel that leads away. We are intercepted by M. He's not going to allow us to leave, so we split and flee in different directions. M chases me, as I flee through the caves I run into another person in the clan. I lie and tell him M is crazy and a traitor. The other guy confronts him and they start to fight so I slip away.

I don't remember much from it, but here we go.

I am on this mountain. The sky is purpleish with touches of red and the grass is bloody red. There are a lot of people fighting. There are a lot of seats in the color of black. I have a bow and I keep shooting arrows at people. I suddenly get this feeling I'm dreaming and do a RC. After realizing that I'm dreaming I stabilize but the dream doesn't get any clearer. I put my hands together and imagine ice in them. They get colder and I try to stabilize without any succes. I yell : GIVE ME A CLEARED LUCID, GIVE ME FULL AWARENESS and all that kind of stuff to make my dream more awesome. There appears Kris and he tells me that if I keep getting all those things I will create another person (wut). I stop doing it and that's pretty much all I remember.

Kris appearence was pretty normal(As it usually is) but for me... I had black long hair and I wore some ninja clothes (Pretty much looked like Dannie)

New thing I remember : Kris did a surgery on my leg to get a bone out of it.

11. 12NOV13 Im on a Plane

by , 11-14-2013 at 10:12 PM
I woke up on a plane (or maybe a rather large train) beside someone. The attendent asked which meal i wanted. I was some dish i cant recall or chicken. I told her i would take option B. I started walking around and my sister was there. We were laughing because we had hung a bunch of paper christmas decorations (cut out trees and snowflakes) but we also hung cut out sharks and jellyfish randomly.

I headed back to my seat, but apparently it was the wrong place. A guy shoved my off and pinned me down when his foot. I felt really weird/feeble in that I couldn't get him off. I thought then to club him with something I had in my hand, but that made me realize i was dreaming and wake up.

12. Nov 12 Dream Journal: Drunken sailors ear-ly in the mornin'

by , 11-13-2013 at 05:52 AM
I knew I had a couple, but I can only remember one dream. I'm surprised I could recall a dream based on how little sleep I got, much less one as vivid, though. Anyways...

I dream that I'm on a wooden ship, and I'm part of a guild or kung-fu school. I'm the senior-most student/member of our guild on the ship, and we are all dressed in light blue robes and white pants.

We are in the middle of being boarded by a rival guild/bandit ninjas, who is dressed similarly to us, save for more black in their motif. They are after something on our ship, and Dream Knowledge says whether or not they find it, they are leaving no witnesses. Shit just gots real!

At this point, they have breached the lower deck, and are surging up a flight of stairs, where two of my guild mates and I are defending the top. Everyone is fighting with oars (hence my theory we are on a ship), and using them like spears. It also happens we are all expert oar-fighters, which, I guess is a thing.

My guild mates are fighting their boarding leader, who is also their senior-most student/member. He's a smug bastard. Despite the numbers and higher ground, it's clear my guild mates are just being toyed with by that guy, who is fighting with one-hand behind his back.

I help where I could, but I'm also pre-occupied with their number two guy, who is a fat, grinning idiot who somehow made it past the stairs. He reminds me of the fat bad guy from Full Metal Alchemist. He somehow knows my every move, and all I can do is keep him at bay. Dream Knowledge tells me they have more guys near their level, and I'm the only guy on our side who can fight any of them one-on-one; therefore, it's imperative we hold them here. I feel crummy now, since my guild mates really wanted to help, but I dreamed them to be such pushovers.

I also fight their leader, who backhand-compliments me about being good for something something. What a dick.

My alarm proceeds to wake me at 5:30 to work for the next 15 hours. Death at the hands of smug dicks would've been more preferable.

13. Oct. 24 Dream Journal: When people stop being polite, and people start getting real!

by , 10-24-2013 at 08:16 PM
Dream one has me in a snowy town, possibly medieval Europe. I think it's the same town as the one from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, even though I've never seen the movie straight through, so I'm not even sure there was a snowy town in the movie. Anyways, it's night time, and there is an uneasy vibe going around. I'm sneaking from building to building, trying to avoid as much attention as possible, but every single building here has giant glass panes for a wall, and the interiors are well-lit by fireplaces. I only get as far as I could because no one bothered to tilt their heads and look outside. I can't say for certain, but I think the townspeople are afraid of me and would form a mob if they knew I'm back.

I finally duck into a wooden building, the only one where there aren't any giant windows. It is apparently the home of two sisters; they are both redheads in their early 20's, and they are dressed like extras from Fable. Dream Knowledge tells me one is evil, and the other is good. Evil sister pushes good sister towards me in a "take her, not me!" manner. Luckily (for her and my conscience), the dream fades before I can do anything horrible.

I'm next in a two-story house with eight or nine other housemates. Hijinks ensue in vignette format, but I can't tell/remember which order they go in for the most part. But the following happens:

-I accidentally hit an old hippy lady wearing dreads with a basketball while she is eating. She is annoyed, but not mad.
-One of my housemates is named Raj, and I work for him on his website downstairs in my office area. He is probably a dream version of my old boss.
-We cook some sort of a spaghetti dinner at a really long table together. The dinnerware are really colorful.

What I do know is that in the last vignette, I spar with Craig, who resembles a cross between Craig Robinson and the guy who plays Tyrese in The Walking Dead. Either way, Craig loves to watch 70's MMA on TV (yes, yes, my brain knows it doesn't exist back then. It just did that to troll the bros), and I'm the only one in the bunch that's willing to practice with him.

Sparring with Craig causes my dream to shift into a Battle Royale setting, and I'm one of the poor fools trapped inside a Japanese high school. Only, this school is built like a tower on an island, and is tall enough to reach into the sky (hey, not the most efficient architecture, guy who designed this school). There are apparently 999 levels, and my goal is to reach the very top. Fortunately, my dream posits me near the very top, though the dream fades before I could do anything.

14. Canine creature and railway tracks

by , 10-23-2013 at 10:02 PM
There's this strange, vaguely canine creature with a head almost completely covered in bony ridges, giving the impression that it has a skull for a head. It changes shape, sometimes looking insect-like, a vast serpent thing with many legs, and very rarely, it takes the form of a woman. It serves a certain human man who found it on a cliff, and the first time it changes into a woman it freaks him out immensely - he's wondered if maybe the creature is actually a person under a curse, but he's not at all sure which is the true form. At the moment, he's thinking "(creature's name) is the answer" - the moment he thinks that, something else bursts into the room and the creature leaps up to fight it.

(Woke up. Back to sleep.)

A narrator of a play saying "Young Romeo spies the young witch Barathia in the woods, but..."

A person I know IRL is annoyed at me over a misunderstanding, and posting passive aggressive messages about it online. I wonder whether I should correct the misunderstanding or just leave it alone.

I'm standing on a street corner with someone, waiting for the light to change, when I see two people walking towards us, including that IRL person from the previous scene. The light changes just then, and I know I should probably wait for her to catch up, but I hurry across the street instead. I follow the guy I'm walking with down onto the railway tracks, and there's something I really enjoy about walking along the tracks at night. A train goes past.

Still walking with that same guy, we've reached the trailer where his mother lives. When he knocks on the door, this guy he dislikes answers, some bigot his mother's dated in the past, but last he knew it was over between them, he wasn't expecting him to be here. They say something to each other I can't hear, I can just tell the guy in the door looks angry, and then the guy I'd been walking with turns around and leaves. He's really upset. I tell him to come back with me, we can go spend the holiday at my mother's place, she'll like having us over. At one point he decides to go back and kick that guy out of his mother's house and I physically hold him back.

3rd person, Julia's fighting something from a distance and thinking that at this rate she'll run out of supplies. She's thinking about trying to start a dialogue.

Loosely FMA-based: I/Mustang am skimming a file Julia/Hawkeye wrote, something private or at least not intended for me to read. The text's very small and I don't bother reading it in detail, but it has to do with problems she saw in the military. There's photos with it, mostly pictures of us and someone else who'd joined up with us when we were younger; the last picture is of our whole unit on a train, out of uniform. Unlike the text, they're all positive images.

On that train, when that last photo was taken. I'm waking up and realizing me and Winry fell asleep sitting up, she's wound up leaning against me, the table in front of us is covered in papers, diagrams, there's a bowl of something next to me that's gone cold. Switches to 3rd person, showing us and the rest of the unit, some other people who've been working with us, and Julia/Hawkeye sitting a little apart. She's looking around at all of us and feeling fond but conflicted: she's always had to stay a little aloof, because she can't let us find out she's working against us.
