    1. Old LD - Nightmareville

      by , 09-07-2015 at 06:01 PM (Dimension X)
This is an old LD that I had around 8-10 months ago. It's still a lucid dream, so I figured I'd add it in now.

I don't quite remember how it began, but the general setting was a dark town set in a old spooky Prague style. It was night time, and the sky held a large moon. It felt so real. I could feel the cold air on my face as soon as I arrived. I could even smell rain. The small town itself was in a circle shape around a circle cobble road, with some sort of mausoleum in the centre. On the outside of the road between the road and the houses, there was a spire fence surrounding it all. I've drawn it below, in case my description is lacking detail:

That's what it all looked like. Nothing much happened, except I saw weird creatures, big and small, walking around and morphing into different shapes and other kinds of creatures. I remember trying to make someone appear to see if maybe they could help, but it wouldn't work.

I'm not sure what to make of that creepy town. It seems important somehow.

      Any thoughts on this?

    2. The Festival

      by , 06-15-2015 at 08:33 PM
I was in a festival in a small town a bit far from mine (I don't recognised exactly which). It was already dark, the town was full of colourful lights and music, and everyone were out partying. I was with my girlfriend and some other people, and I suddenly realized that we didn't have a way to get back home at the end of the night. I phoned my dad because he took us there and he could still be around, but he was gone and he had already arrived my hometown. I took a look on my cell looking for someone from my hometown who could be there, but I found no one (and it was really hard for me to use my cell). I stayed for a while thinking how to go back later, but finally I didn't mind about it and kept partying.

      [Time lapse]
After some hours I'm walking the streets, now with some different friends. One of them has the looking she had years ago, when I first met her. We leave the festival, like we are going home, but I don't really know whose home are we going to. After the dream, I realized those streets were similar to some from my hometown.

      [Time lapse]
We arrive a place made of wood, looks like a skiing resort, but I don't remember going that high. There's many people with elegant clothing, and I think I wasn't with my friends by then. There, still outdoors in front of the main entrance, I find an extrange pice of furniture designed to keep hats on it. They are all the same; white fancy sailor's hats, with golden cords and emblems. They look so ridiculous to me that I start climbing the selfs, steping over those hats and laughing.

      [Time lapse]
I'm in the front of a house, still dark, and there are some people who I can't recognise. Suddenly, a furious man comes, holds one of my legs (making me fall to the ground) and starts pulling me to the street. Then, hidden next to a car, he takes a long PVC pipe and holds it over his head, threatening to hit me. In that moment, a friend appeared (now awaken I don't recognise him), took that PVC pipe away from the furious man and threw him to the ground. The man who tried to hit me started then yelling about how we couldn't hit him because of him being someone very important. Then, suddenly, I see an scene (I'm not there) of that man in a hospital bed.

    3. 3 girls in town

      by , 05-22-2015 at 06:06 AM
Me and two guys we were in town. We met three girls. One of the guys was talking with them. I do not remember the conversation. But one girl with blond hair, looking at me. I am watching her. She was very beautiful. One girl was dressed in white (maybe jacket). When we left, I told one guy, he was like one girl who is giving signals. He was very happy because he did not know.

      A very beautiful dream.

    4. Jumping Up and Down

by , 04-20-2015 at 08:46 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was in some sort of town. I was with some parkour people. We were jumping up and down walls/roofs/heights. I remember crawling along on top of the wall.

A dormitory of sorts. I was living with some people.

      ---

      Notes:

      - Slept at 3 am, woke up with alarm at 8, but went to sleep again until 10 a.m.
      - Drank Oishi Choco oats or something before sleep
      - Shimmy-dropped from heights yesterday during parkour training. It was scary.

    5. Old Woman Running (NLD)

      by , 04-07-2015 at 07:49 AM
Recall: 3/10. I'm in the town where I grew up but I'm an old woman. I'm jogging and despite my age I feel like it is effortless, so I decide to run the five miles to my house outside of town. I am crossing an intersection as I decide this, and suddenly something sails through the air and nearly hits me. It clatters to the pavement and I see it is an empty half-sized soda can. I look around for where it came from, and see a black man, evidently a vagrant, who is shouting and throwing them at me. He seems angry but I can't make out his words. He throws a second and then a third can.

I try to go another way to avoid him but find myself in a cul-de-sac that leads through a narrow alley into an even darker square surrounded by tall buildings. It looks creepy and dangerous, and from the lack of light I assume that the alley is the only way out or in. There is a dumpster in the alley and a guy going through it. I have no reason to go this way and fear for my safety if I do, so I return to my original route. The ground of this cul-de-sac street is covered with bananas, layers of them flattened and smashed against the ground, filling the air with a fruity, overripe smell. I don't remember my town being so heavily involved in the banana industry, and it doesn't make sense given that bananas don't even grow around here, but I can't discount the evidence all around me. As I leave the cul-de-sac and return to the main street, I am running over such a thick layer of smashed bananas on the ground that I have to take extra care not to slip and fall.

Some clothes in a shop catch my eye, and I pause to look them over. There are two outfits that seem ideal for an elderly woman like me, or at least, they look like the sort of thing you often see old ladies wearing. Both consist of a zip-up top and half-length pants in matching polyester. I try on the pants of one set, but don't like the texture of the cloth, and although it looks like I'd still be able to run in them, I wonder if they would end up chafing my legs. I decide to stick with my knee-length black lycra running tights and put them back on.

I start running home again. Then I remember how some people use the mental image of a repetitive motion, like running, as an anchor during their WILD attempts. I think it might be fun to give this a try and see if I can run right into the dream state. Even though conditions are ideal (given that I'm already dreaming at the time!) my attempts amount to little and I don't get lucid. I have the impression I started thinking this while I was actually in the process of waking up.
    6. 05 Jan: guru spying

      by , 01-05-2015 at 10:54 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

I am at some exotic place, like an old church semi-ruined, where groups gather to have workshops like tile making and other artistic works. I go downstairs for a break and pass by a hallway where I see on my periferal vision a man with a hooded cape, sitting on the floor against a wall, like a beggar, but not really begging. It's only a few steps ahead that I realized: “didn't I just see my guru?” I look back but he's already gone. I go after him through a door to the outside, a maze of crowded streets like in some middle eastern village. I finally spot them and keep trying to reach him, but he Is fast and I keep loosing him at every corner. He knows I am after him, but he is like a jedi master, he wanted me to see him, bu not to meet him, just to know that he is keeping an eye on me.

    7. The Meditation Break

by , 11-10-2014 at 05:17 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Guiding someone along a path, I send them around a river as I navigate the rocks and earth in the middle wearing waterproof boots. I slip and fall in the icy water up to my waist, feeling the water get in my boots. Happy they are dry, I ignore the accident and we move on. Reaching an adorable old city made from red stones, we take a break to eat. Many meditators are also relaxing here for a lunch break, having a good time together.

A woman tells us all that it's time to go back for the next meditation, and we all get up and start walking along the road. I follow them this time rather than taking the cold river pass.

Suddenly, I am somewhere else almost like a time traveler, but without the continuity, rather a gradual fading out and back in. I think it would be nice to go back to that town from earlier, and set out down the road toward it, this time in the evening. I find myself on a longboard, and enjoy the ease of travel along the flat road. As I approach the town, I see it is now fenced off, and a van is parked just inside a chain link gate. I roll closer and some people see me. They are doing something that would upset others and cause trouble if more people knew about it. To protect themselves, they try to kill me in case I might tell someone.

Quickly turning around, I kick off fast and tuck into a speedy position on the board. Despite going uphill now, I manage to gain speed just through willpower as I outrun those guys in their van. I turn down a dark road, and lose them. Hopefully for good. A guy approaches me as I am looking at dark places to hide along the road - in a tree, next to a fence, etc; and he tells me there is a key to the car right underneath it, and points to a car in a nearby parking lot.
    8. Lucid playing with the dreamscape perspective

      by , 09-24-2014 at 12:54 PM (4th DJ-Attempt)
.../I'm staring at some sort of catholic rite, where a niece I never met in WL, is doing her confirmation (however it's said in English) in front of a very old Bishop or some high catholic authority specially dressed for the occasion, who can barely move his hands, sitting on a chair standing with its back to me. Somebody pushes a table between my niece and the bishop, and he's having problems to get rid off that. I find the whole scene funny. Then he stands up and start giving cakes to everybody, he turns towards me and throws to me a big piece of cake that I skilfully catch in the air still laying on my bed. I stand up and stare at some dreamscape about flowers (daisies?) that triggers my lucidity. I realize I'm on the roof of a building. I start moving jumping on the roofs, there's a guy who follows me wherever I go. I see him on the roof of a lower house, and asks me to be careful not to step on the floor, but on some structures to avoid getting my shoes stuck with some sort of glue. I'm upset because of I didn't mind to step on the floor in the first place, I think he doesn't have any idea about I know it's a dream and that I just want to get on the ground. I jump to another house, until I get to the ledge. It's a building of more than 7 floors. It's pretty high here. I can see the other houses from here. The ground is very dark, and the walls are white. It's a big open space surrounded by the houses. I want to jump straight down there, but I don't want the adrenaline rush of the fall if I don't get to properly fly. I remember, long ago I wanted to put my foot on the ground as I was a giant, from this higher point. I step on the ledge and visualize the whole scene as the floor is at my level. I want to step directly on it without falling. I step forward, but I close my eyes, hoping not to fall and to step on the ground. It works! Now I'm down here and I'm happy I got to this lucid-goal I failed to do long ago. I see the guy is running in front of me. For some reason, I call him "Siegfried" and laugh at it. I want to go to the toilet but I reject this idea because of I find it useless in a dream. I start running in stead, then start flying some centimeters above the ground. I want to leave this place, but I don't want to leave the guy alone. I think I will stay here. I turn and land on the ground, to find a commode or some, which is out there. I see some little stickers of ducks and remember something about them that I start looking at them, absorbed by the dream, I go on trying to put some order and wanting to take them with me/...

      * Unfortunately I didn't remember any of the TotM or lucid dares this time, and I didn't do the goal as it was meant to be done: With me standing as a giant on a sort of Lilliput town.

    9. The Unfamiliar Town

by , 08-10-2014 at 06:13 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
      1:12 p.m.

I was in a small community. It's unfamiliar.

I decided to hide in a store, a place that I somehow thought they'd never look. People looking for me. I'm not from there. I don't know what they want to do. I think I was female, and the owner of the store (also female) said that one day, someone needs to take care of the store and marry her son (who is still a boy).

A storm or a fight. I/We have to hide.

I was in a building. Yellowish color theme. The floors are fooling around. The elevators disappeared. Good thing I ended up in floor 27, so I just took the stairs to go down. I/We ended up in the basement. White theme. Some things to explore. I felt excited, although I think the place is prohibited.

      - Went to sleep several times, last being around 11:56 a.m.

    10. Nuclear Crisis Averted

by , 07-05-2014 at 06:25 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I am some sort of god-like entity, an awareness with power, lacking physical form, helping a large group of people and animals live their lives. I become aware that there is a hostile ship, going to another land to bring back nuclear weapons to use against everyone on the island I am familiar with. Going over to it, I attempt to stop it with lightning strikes. Despite several direct hits on the ship, it continues on and reaches the distant shore to pick up the nuclear weapons.

I take human form, and go to speak with the leader of this operation, but he kills me before I can do or say anything right as I enter a wooden lodge he is in. Still having an awareness of what's going on in the lodge, a large group of women enter, all dressed the same, all with their hands in their identical bags. They surround him and say something to the effect of, "You had this coming for a long time, now the time has come" He tries to run, but a group of women hold him as he is assassinated. All the women had guns in their bags.

Now a young boy just on the outskirts of the town, holding hands with a young girl, we watch the town mill about. People going here and there. Boats coming and going. The large ship from earlier has turned into a smaller ship with no where to go. Very peaceful, a dam slowly raises out of the nearby river, filling a large reservoir.
    11. 1/31/14 - town name

by , 01-31-2014 at 08:37 PM (Leaving the matrix)
Dream Fragment: Me and a group of people are crowed around in a spot in the middle of the street. The people are all from different eras. They are all bickering about what the actual name of this town is. They all have been calling it different things, and I wonder why we are all from different time periods.

      ______________________
The scenario started out with me in an apartment, with my mom. It was a junky looking place, paint peeling off of walls.

I went outside, and checked the town out. It was a bright day, possibly the middle of the day.

Soon enough I got lost within the labyrinth of a place, and tried ot make my way back. The route I'd chosen to go back home took me through a run-down section of the town. Old houses, worn with age, plagued the area; It made me think that this was a boil on the town's face.

I tried to ask some people as ot where the apartment complex was but nobody was able to speak english; they all spoke in a language I'd never heard before. Puzzled, I make my way through the maze, and eventually find my way back.

Night had fallen the instant I stepped inside. And what was waiting inside, but a trusty dog. It was not a golden retriever, however - this one was a keshond. It greeted me, and I took a seat on the floor.

The dog layed across my lap, and I stroked its long, black fur. I eventually heard a knock on the door, and went over to answer it.

When I opened it, I walked into another dream.
      ______________________
I walked into a large house, it looking much cleaner and newer than the apartment. Stepping inside, I could smell the fresh country air leaking in from the windows.

I heard footsteps around the house soon after. Panicked, I swiftly made my way out of the complex, but not quick enough to see, out of the corner of my eye, a woman.

She was a medium, I knew that instantly - how, exactly, I could not figure out. In fact, I'm still perplexed as to how I knew such.

As I made my way down stone steps to the road, I hear from the back of me, "Do you know whos scizzors these are?"

Curiosity overtaking me, I look over my shoulder. Instantly, I felt a sucker punch to my emotons as I whisper every so quietly, "Oh my God."

The pair of safety scizzors belonged to a friend I had a long time ago - one of the only ones I'd had at the time. I'd moved away, and never heard from him again.

Warm tears began to streak down my face as I stare up at them. It was small, but I could clearly see the scizzors. She began hurriedly walking down the steps, saying somehting about the hospital, but my emotions had completely overtaken my body; I was frozen in place.

I shut my eyes to wipe the fluid away, and therein changed the scenario.
      ______________________
In that instant, I was inside of a van, which was pulling up to a flat house. I got out, and inspected the outside. My mission was clear: I was to plant a device in this persons' house without them knowing. It was their birthday, and we wanted to discreetly let him know we had a party planned.

I walk up to the house, and quietly open the front door. I dive for a counter, hiding behind it, as he'd come to inspect why the door was open.

I make my way to the east side of the house, going for a corner. I planted the device on a windowsill, being careful to balance it. It was a birthday timer, set to go off at 12:00 AM, which was approaching fast. It was going to shoot off tiny fireworks, set off sparklers, and so forth.

I make my way out of the house slyly, being sure to quietly shut the door. There were more people outside now, several cars litterred the frint yard. People waited outside, drinking some sort of alcoholic drink that was red at the bottom, and yellow on top. When offerred one, I turned it down.

We all began to count the seconds down. Ten, nine, eight, so on and so forth.

The device goes off, and we could hear tiny bangs echo from the house. It had worked.

We all flooded in through the door, and began to celebrate.

I soon woke up after being hugged and kissed on the cheek by the birthday kid.

    13. Nov. 17 Dream Journal: Cats, Thugs, and Rock n' Roll

      by , 11-17-2013 at 10:02 PM
Before going to bed, I practiced MILD -- I noticed that the color red is a recurring theme, especially when it is on a person, like clothing or hair color -- and practiced making that a cue. As you'll see, I dropped the ball.

Dream one had me in a Baldur's Gate-esque world, but the "graphics" are updated to at least 2010 standards, a la Dragon's Age -- which, by the way, I'd throw gobs of money at an updated Baldur's Gate. Anyways, my party and I are settling into a wooden house in the city, and we are turning in for the night. The house we are in had two rooms (which I never saw) to the left and right of the entrance in the "main" room, which sinks a foot lower and features a hearth in the middle middle (so it actually has a bit of a Warring States-era Japanese design). Straight across the entrance is a ladder that leads up to a loft area (which I'll get into detail later).

Our party seems to be pretty big, as Dream Knowledge tells me that others in our group have settled into other houses nearby, and that I'm sharing a house, hostel style. Of note, two of the people I'm teamed with are a married couple in their late 20's-early 30's, and they are both pleasant spellcasters wearing robes. The wife is in a red robe with green trims (missed MILD cue alert), while the husband is in a navy robe with yellow trim. I think the husband resembles a classmate as well from middle school, who I want to say is K, that I never really was friends with, but hey, whatever you say, Dream Logic. It also appears that the town/city we are in is a little bit hostile, because there was an exchange where we are strategically planning how we should assign rooms (i.e. if we are ambushed in the middle of the night, where should we sleep so we are best prepared), and I say something like "don't worry, I'll sleep anywhere and decide what class I'll be based on that."

I'm now suddenly climbing up the stairs to the loft -- I'm staying there, apparently. The loft area is surprisingly modern looking, including working electrical lights and a sliding-pane window. There is also a private bathroom in the corner. It's also a little messy, with a ton of clothes hanging on hangers all around the wall, and some piles of clothes strewn here and there. There's a giant bed in the middle (bigger than a King-sized bed) that takes up 75% of the available space, and there are some heavy-looking covers. In short, I would absolutely live in a place like this in real life.

I also notice an adorable kitten in the loft, so I reach down to pet it. It's an orange calico kitten, and is really affectionate and playful. After playing with it a little, it lays on its back for me to rub its tummy. It's a trap. The second I do, the kitten snaps like a bear trap to love-bite/claw my forearm. I find it even more adorable at how cat-like this cat is, and after freeing my arm, I call out to the others to come see. I demonstrate by placing my hand on the kitten's tummy again, who reacts exactly like I expected. It's visibly trying to gnaw my arm (and it's soooo cute while it does), but it's just so small and tiny that it barely managed to draw blood (Red blood on my arm. Missed MILD cue alert).

It still "hurt" though, so let that be a lesson: Cats are pure evil, no matter how cute they are.

ANYWAYS, the scene changes, and now I'm alone in another house in the same town. I'm in the kitchen area, because there's a modern looking stove and fridge to my left. There's a small wooden table and two chairs against the wall, and the entrance is in the wall to my right. Straight across, by the fridge, is another doorway to a darkened room, and I emerge from what appears to be the storage/stable. It's dawn, and I'm aware that I'm in red plate armor (missed MILD cue alert), and my weapon of choice is a grey-white claymore. I'm pretty happy with my gear. I'm also alert, and as expected, I'm ambushed by assassins posing as villagers. I dispose of the first attacker, who is dressed like a villager from Might and Magic VI. I think I cleaved her, but she "disappears" with no blood, like I'm in a PG-13 movie. Another attacker runs in from the side, and I turn around and backhand him. Bloodless murder is the most morally-cleanest murder.

At this point, I get agitated at all these assassins and yell out "I know what's going on. Just show yourselves." To which, maybe 8-9 people dressed as villagers meekly come out. I pan, "What am I, Abraham Lincoln?" (lol at my own brain). It's at this point that Dream Knowledge reveals that these villagers need my help. The dream fades at this point.

Dream two posits me at my high school during an assembly in the gym. The dance club(?) is putting on a swing dance routine. For whatever reason, I think something like, "I can do the Charleston," and just like that, I'm suddenly part of the dance routine. I wasn't sure what the Charleston is before I Googled it, by the way; but apparently I'm rocking whatever swing routine my dream calls the Charleston on the dance floor. The "dance" evolved into a 50's rockabilly concert, and I'm now dressed like the band during the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. I'm also playing a red Epiphone Riviera (which I theorize I was able to identify so vividly because it's an actual guitar I have. Also, missed MILD cue alert) on a pretty modern looking stage. Everyone is doing the Twist. The dream fades.

The dream picks up again with a snow theme. The following happens, but I lost track of the order of which came first:
-I'm outside in the snow (pretty sizable amounts -- the snow blankets the field), and Garfield (from the comics) is laying down in the snow next to a snowman (snowcat?) of himself. He's saying/thought bubbling/captioning something like "perfection is the origin of stress." I don't know if those are wise words or dream gibberish.

-I'm upstairs in a room (it resembles a room in my brother's house, actually), overlooking the driveway. I'm worried that the snow is going to make it hard for my mom to drive, even though she hasn't driven in years. But when I look out the window, I see that the roads are cleared up, and there's only about half-a-foot of snow (a snowplow is seen leaving my vision frame). The driveway isn't cleared yet, but I see tire tracks on it, which leads me to believe that the roads are accessible.

I wake up, and I was really expecting it to be snowing in real life.

      by , 11-17-2013 at 09:41 AM
Original journal entry dated April 28th, 2002:

I woke up with blood under my fingernails, and all over my blankets for that matter. I don't remember any of my dreams but I guess I must have been having more nightmares. In any case, I tore my face up but good and was hoping that nobody would notice this morning, which they didn't, which is good.

The first dream was about a city. I think it was in England. It was old, and I was in the past, maybe Puritan times, I dunno. It was somewhere cold, rocky, and misty.
There was a plague in the village, and there was always a procession of corpses being carried to the graveyard. I suppose, then, that the plague was bad, but not so bad to the point where they couldn't bury all of the bodies.
And yet, everybody was dead. Maybe not DEAD dead, but dead inside. Except that one man murdered his wife, and then the Priest came and they took away the body... one more dead person, despite the cause, didn't matter... and then, either I died or my wife died, but I can't remember which. But there was a crazy, crazy old lady in one of the more dilapidated houses, and she wielded an axe... nobody went there, and maybe she died of plague, or maybe she DIDN'T die because nobody went there. But my wife died (I was male in the dream). Or maybe I did. And they said a few prayers, and everything was washed over with gray... there was an old stone building, it was haunted... come to think of it, the whole town was haunted... and all muddy... it was miserable.

And then the other dream. My brother and mother and I were living in bare shacks high up on stilts, in the mountains. It was snowy and windy and very cold. They had wooden planks for floors, and the wind whistled through the chinks. When I looked out, I could see the tops of pine trees.

      Fraggle = Fragment

      Fraggle:

Something about my sister wanting to spoil my niece and I was trying to stop it.

      Fraggle:

Something about me running a race (long distance?) and the people in the little town I was running in didn't want me there and tried to chase me out of their town.

Sigh...I've got to do better with my awareness...
