    1. Leaf Pile

by , 11-09-2014 at 08:51 PM (Xanous' Dream Journal)
      #378 - DEILD - 4:54AM (1 of 2)

I am at work and I use my laptop on the production floor. It keep playing video loudly and I have to click them away. Break time comes and I kick back in the break room to try to WILD. I feel floaty and strange like usual this brings my awareness back and I wake slightly.

I realize that I failed my WILD so I go into DEILD mode. I have general SP issues and trouble getting out of it. Eventually I roll over and have some kinky sexy time with the wife just get the dream going. It wasn't really a sex dream but it was fun. After a minute or two of that I get up and turn to the door. My wife says, "Ok. You go have your lucid dream now." I smile not looking back and walk out of the bedroom.

As I try to make it to the front door the room stretches making it farther away. I feel immobile and have some trouble seeing. My physical eyes open but I close them right away and DEILD.

I imagine being at the front door feeling the floor with my hands. I am surprised that I can feel something right away. I expect to feel the hardwood but it feels something like groutless tile; the kind at the grocery store that gets waxed. I notice some gritty feel like dirt.

My vision returns and I see the door mat that we keep inside. I smile and stand up quickly reaching for the door knob. The basic TOTM is on my mind and when I step outside I look for a pile of leaves. There are two bushes on each side of the porch steps in waking life but here in the dream one of them is the pile of leaves I am looking for. I walk to the edge of the concrete and turn around. I put my hands out and fall back into the leaves. I hear a loud, dry leaf sound... CHISSHSH. As the leaves disperse, I feel and see a dry dead bush appear. I land softly and slide on my back several feet as I hear something like the sound of a buzzing bee hive.. BUZZZZZZZZ. I recognize this sound from one of my son's toys as I wake up.

    2. "Dream Difficulties"

      by , 11-08-2014 at 05:56 PM (Threecat's Dreamtime)
Wake from an NLD. I lie still and wait to DEILD. Body begins to roll to the side, which signals beginning of REM sleep. I roll off of the mat and fall through space. Eyes flicker open somewhat, and I can see stars in a black sky. I accidentally open my WL eyes, though, because I can suddenly see light streaming in from beneath my sleep mask. I close them and wait for my "dream eyes" to open on their own. They do, and I see I am flying swiftly over a dark, deep purple ocean. The stars are still out. I can feel the wind on my face. Ahead of me, on the horizon, a white number one appears.

Memory is fuzzy here. Certain I did not lose consciousness, but unsure of how narrative unfolded entirely. I land down in the water, and there is some sort of game being played by a bunch of DCs. I try to persuade one of them that she is strong enough to lift me up and throw me out of the water. She says she is not. "Oh come on," I say. "Look at those triceps!" She laughs and tries to throw me. She just sort of pushed me out of the water. She says she can't. "But really," I say, "You can." I'm trying to get the dream to bend to my will a bit! She tries again (and throws me a bit higher) and reiterates that she can't do it.

I mess around for a bit more (can't remember what I was doing--interacting with DCs, asking questions and what not, and I specifically remember rubbing my hands to stabilize--and then it occurs to me to complete the tasks of the month. I think about what the tasks are, and remember the leaf task. I am in a back yard. I begin thinking I will materialize the leaves by pretending they are on the other side of a wooden fence. I say, "You're around this fence!" and run around the fence. I briefly see the outline of what looks like a pile of leaves, but then that pops out of existence. I try two more times, and nothing happens at all.

I run around for a bit, thinking I might find a pile of leaves somewhere. Nope. I then think to call for help on my phone, and pull it out of my pocket. I figure it will take too long to punch in the numbers though and toss it away. Instead, I head inside to get help from a DC.

Near me is a blond girl. She attempted to assist me earlier in the dream, but I rebuffed her because DCs are too unreliable. I now ask her if she knows where any leaves are. We go inside the house, and she nods and points to some storage boxes. One of them is black and I open it up. Inside there are only Christmas lights. "These are just Christmas lights," I say, and then get annoyed. This always happens. DCs always trick me and waste my time. I run out of the house. The DC runs after me, trying to get me to come back. I ignore her. Looking around, I see a bunch of leaves lying around on the grass. I think I might be able to rake them up, but then pull an Ophelia and scoop some up in my arms. Some of them are crackly, but others are rotten and gross. I make a very small pile. I look at it and decide I'm not jumping in that.

I try to think of the other basic. Oh yeah, tell a kid they are dreaming. I am on a path in the woods, and a jogger is coming towards me. She is a kid, maybe like a high school student, but I check just to be sure:

"How old are you?" I ask.

She stops running and faces me. "16."

      "You're dreaming!" I say.

"If you don't shut up, I'm going to hit you," she says.

I back off, and she continues jogging.

I continue on the path until I find a small cabin/mobile home (don't ask) in the woods. Inside are some DCs. More conversation that I can't remember. However, I hear voices up inside a treehouse-like loft. They are discussing someone messing up their abilities to dream. I ascend the wooden ladder up, and see two people I know semi-well from WL. However, I understand that they are DCs and not their real selves. They are crouched over a dream journal. When they see me enter the room, the girl (it's a girl and a guy) moves to cover up the DJ so I can't read it.

"It's just me," I say. "The dreamer." They are smiling now in a mocking way. I sort of lose it here, and demand to know "why you guys (meaning DCs in general) always tease me?"

"Because we can," the girl responds.

"But lots of dreamers get help from their DCs. They teach them fun things like how to fly. You guys always try to trick me."

The girl now laughs and says, "You can't even fly."

I get mad and grab the guy in my fist. He instantly turns into a small, faceless rag doll. The transition was seamless and sort of shocked me. The girl disappeared altogether. I fling the doll down on the ground and leave.

Back in the house, I remember the advanced task--cut off your hand and serve it up for Thanksgiving dinner. I look around and see a half-eaten plate of food: there is some cornbread there and some other stuff I don't remember. I realize that if I hadn't scared the DCs away I could have served them my hand. I leave and begin running back to the first house (where I tried to complete the leaf task.

Once inside the original kitchen, I approach the block of knives. They all appear to be light, serrated blades, and I am not keen on sawing through my wrist. I am hoping for a cleaver, and find a small one, but it is not heavy enough. I finally settle on a knife that probably does not exist in WL, but resembles a butcher knife. I RC to make sure I am dreaming. I then (to be honest, fearing the pain) test the knife by slicing into my index finger. I don't feel anything, and think maybe I missed (lol). However, a line appear on my finger, and I start bleeding. The dream quickly fades and
      I wake up.

    3. My Own Prison

      by , 10-06-2014 at 06:43 PM
I have a personal conviction not be violent in my LD’s; however, in the LD prior to this one I’m about to describe, I was violent. I guess I got scared, and resorted to violence. This is what happened in the following lucid dream (DEILD):

I entered the dream in a highly lucid state. I was inside my log cabin. All the windows were boarded up, and it was dimly lit. I went to the front door to try and open it, but it was locked. There was no furniture, or anything, the cabin was completely empty. The cabin has a vaulted ceiling, with a 2nd storey balcony, that overlooks the living room. I slowly floated up into the vaulted ceiling area, so I could see if the 2nd storey was also boarded up, and it was. Lowering myself back down to the first floor, I thought to myself, “Am I on a LD ‘time out’ for misbehaving in my previous LD?” Is this some sort of punishment? I’ve always been able to fly right through walls, doors, ceilings, and objects, so I thought I’d be tricky and blast right through the ceiling at a high speed, and breakout of this prison. I prepared for the escape by looking uninterested for a few seconds. With great speed I shot upwards towards the ceiling, only to find that I came to an abrupt stop, buried in complete darkness, and unable to move. I wormed and squirmed, but I was immobilized. Feeling total frustration, I woke myself up.

    4. 9/12, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 27, 10/1 Quick notes mostly on LDs

      by , 10-05-2014 at 08:20 AM
Paraphrasing most entries so no hashtags...some just cut & pasted from digital DJ.

      *Sexual content in many spots.
10/1 DILD: I was so angry at people cutting in front of me at an elevator line that the emotion instantly lifted me about 1 yard/meter off the ground which immediately clued me in that I was dreaming. I let the anger carry over into my lucidity and was venting telling them how I can just fly to the top of the building...I don't need this f-ing elevator...and I can smack you around if I want to, rip off your clothes, so there it turned sexual and I ripped of a few women's clothes with TK floating above the crowd feeling omnipotent. It was quite fun but I should have moved straight to some goals and ended up waking up as my wife got out of bed (99% sure that wasn't an FA). 213

9/27 I believe 3 separate lucid events and that HH's SSILD and visualization were the keys. After low key game. Waited 1 hour after waking to record dreams due to breakfast ready. The first one I went back to sleep trying to get more and I think I forgot too many details. I think it was the dream in the #shopping area and I'm #lookingFor #lostItem shopping bag I set down on this couch or chair and its missing when I go back. The lucid part is sexual with a sexy woman something about her curves and fine body. 210

The second lucidity event I am walking past the #school that is having a big sports or Olympics day with all the students competing in different events but I paid particular attention to students playing #rugby. When I first look at them I wondered if they weren't wearing football pads but upon further examination or dream transitioning they were clearly not wearing football pads and I could see them doing a rugby scrum. This transitioned to me playing with them and narrator talking about how one of the ways to score is kicking the ball through the uprights and one of the guys kicks the ball forward and I leap up to catch it but a taller guy catches it first I continue running down the field leaping into the air and I realize that I'm dreaming I have a lot of fun bounding across the field. 211

Third lucid event seems to start as a DEILD As I am visualizing in bed and I get the scene of a sexy woman and as I enter the scene there is a table, paper and a pointed plastic writing pen and ink that you dip it into and I write different messages to see how well I can write in a lucid dream. I forget exactly the first words I wrote but they came out pretty good but when I tried to write "dream" and it was very hard to read and I had more trouble with the ink getting more runny and not sticking to the writing device and the colors were getting too light to show on the white piece of paper. I've then start to remember that there was a sexy woman when I first came into the scene and I could see her sitting on the far end of the table. As I go to move towards her it gets a little foggy but I stay patient and focus first on her toes and her toenails painted with nail polish and slowly work my way up her leg with her body reforming. I reach under her dress
and caress her sexy legs and butt and remove her underwear. I reach for her wonderful warm moisture before working my way up to her top before waking up. 212

9/21 Lucid #sex with perfect, perky #Russian girl. Her breasts her butt! Her skin so soft after some hesitation from her I showed her she wanted me bad and she let me touch her everywhere. Thought about fingering her behind but afraid the dream might come up with a surprise there. Later sex with M, the friend of wife with twin sister. I told her it is okay...it's just a dream! She says "Your c*ck is so big! After exploding inside her my wife and I walk out of party and through a #shopping area with various #stores with groceries and #restaurants and my DC wife is proud of her stud "since it is all a dream" my new pick up line. I am scanning all of the DC's we pass. One lady looks interesting but I'm looking for a certain type since I already had 2 women so far this dream. 209

9/20 Awesome vivid tsunami dream where I am calm and lead a rescue.
WILD/LD 1: I thought I was just visualizing when a dream materialized. I hear Girl Friday downstairs and go down to hook up. Go semi-lucid as various people judge my interest in her but regain it when I see a girl in lingerie laying on the floor trying to seduce me. She is too young. I pick her up and hold her like a father would. 206

LD 2: I think that I WILD again. I am laying in bed visualizing when I find myself in a scene laying under the stars. I remember the striking feeling and realism of opening my dream eyes wide to soak in the whole view with so many stars in every direction. It was extremely beautiful and felt like a spiritual experience. I remembered my personal goal that I tied into the TOTM. 207

LD 3: Awake again visualizing and enter non-lucid dream at some point turned DILD.<snip> He leaves it unattended on oven to overflow and the oven starts to fill up with water like a clothes washer but it's open so the water would flow out onto the floor. I start to try to turn it off and then realize this is a dream the oven can't just turn into clothes washer. I fly up from there up out of the house but then I remember Girl Friday was there and I fly back down into the house but I seem to have messed up the visuals but I stay patient. I go into the living room in a bit of a fog I go sit down on the couch next to where Girl Friday was in the dream. I reach out for her and she seems to be forming back into my dream and I'm looking down at the floor and there's this round item rolling back and forth by itself that was cool. I think I'm forgetting a lot because I waited until the morning to record everything until I'm actually getting up. I did record the tsunami dream during wake back to bed which I'm doing shorter now. Factors for improved multiples? Vivid dream at beginning of night. DEILD focus. Visualization at each awakening. Stop and ask if dream. More frequent random natural self awareness. Back to lumosity. Adding a little fat back into my diet. 208

9/19 LD 1: This whole thing, this whole discussion and scenario has all been a dream! Start to get naked then decide to do nose plug=can breathe but am I fully plugging it, do finger through palm and proceed to get naked. I call for Girl Friday to come in and as I hear her (or someone approaching) I wake up. 204

LD 2: A noise (my wife leaving) wakes me up and I DEILD back into what looks like the same scene as my previous dream except I notice a mirror and look into it to see myself as a woman who looks like a thinner version of Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I decide to open my blouse and check out my breasts. They are small but nicely shaped. I sit down and take off my pants with plans to check out down there but I transform back to myself with my normal junk down there and all. I fade back to bed and fade in and out of some dreamlets including one with a little Asian girl I felt drawn to protect named Ashikara. I am trying to find her again in the fog and a little blonde girl pokes her head around a corner and disappears. Possible NREM lucid but not counting this part after the LD with me as a woman. 205

9/18 Examining source of smoke makes me lucid. Smoke coming from underneath carpet, pull it back, embers present, hole under carpet, look closer and hole gets bigger, think it looks like mouse hole and a mouse comes out. There are many orange ear plugs down this hole. Earlier I attempted the glottal RC and had trouble hinting a dream already but the above scenario confirmed it. Convincing FA. 203

9/15 Standing over bed seeing fleas on bed made me lucid. Wife there also. 202

9/12 I see Cameron Diaz and realize I am dreaming. I walk up to her and give her a kiss on the lips and then look at her again and she still looks mostly like her but with no make-up. I think FA after. Also DEILD focus bleeding into NLDs. 201
    5. Amazing multiple LUCID DREAMS

      by , 09-18-2014 at 07:34 AM
Last night was my second SSILD attempt - plus I practiced ADA for second day- and I had an amazing LD, actually many lds chained with DEILD.
In short, during SSILD I lost exact somatosensory senses, felt moving and I knew I was close... I drifted and then was in my bed again. Did a finger through Palm RC:+!!
After some trial, I freed the rest of my body and was lucid with my family. Ate some strawberry chocolate (was delicious and very real in my mouth) passed through a wall, flew to the night stars and the scene fainted--in bed again.
New RT:+ lifted again (and the same three more times until the end of my lucid) and tried sinking into the floor - went slowly one floor down (and my kid was there). Then (after drift+RT) asked a personal question to the dream. No answer but a strong pushing sensation (drift+RT) and through the wall again and outside running and flying over a road on the countryside. Thought about going to the great pyramid and after a while I saw it in the background. Flew towards there (discovered that flying towards a target works better) but it was far away.
I was in a beautiful touristic location with many people. Run and parkoured down some path in the rocks and was at an attraction like a hollow pyramid or chimney. The great pyramid was far but
I drifted again and this time REM was over: RT (-).
Woke up very very happy. First lucid after 3 months of no lucidity!

    6. 9/4, 9/6, 9/7 & 9/9 Carried Away - DEILD + Recent DILDs #200

      by , 09-09-2014 at 10:09 PM
      9/9/14
*Lucid nap or 3rd wbtb (one wbtb during night, one got up for about 30 minutes and ate one portion of oatmeal 8-8:30am, third one simply got up to use the restroom and straight back to bed quite sleepy! ~10am? led to DEILD or in dream DEILD)

~1115 350 wbtb very tired! Browse pictures on phone until semi awake but still exhausted but got to some interesting dreamlets before dozing off.

Held #hostage and I say that I need to get my asthma inhaler in my backpack but I plan to pull out my gun. #clever Woken by wife.

During the 3rd mini wbtb I repeated out loud "I'm dreaming" repeatedly maybe total of 40 reps with breath/breaks. I either had and in dream DEILD or I had a mini awakening and DEILD in which I thought I heard someone at the door downstairs and I decided to take it as HH's (and as I'm saying this into my dream journal there was a quite loud creek/pop at my bathtub and the goosebumps are apparent! I realize it is just normal settling of the house but it sure was louder than normal.) Anyway when I heard the sound in the dream that sounded like someone at the front door I took it as HH's and I just focused on going back to sleep. When I do, I get very strong vibrations and I knew I was entering a dream if not already in one. The first sensation was of someone coming behind me and rocking me around in the bed. Then I start lifting up off of the bed and I am happy for this, it feels fun and is further confirmation that I'm already dreaming. Then the third sensation is of me sliding backwards like on a roller coaster laying sideways like I think I am laying in bed actually at the time and just going and going and going backwards at a good pace. There's even the sound of a roller coaster and its wheels rolling along the tracks at high speed. This goes for what feels like a good minute and I think to myself well enough of that and I seem to be kind of floating in a bit of a foggy void. This is late late in the morning and I'm guessing that my dreaming mind doesn't have much left to offer up. I do start getting a vague image of a sexy woman and we start having sex floating in this void. At one point I turn her over and
      Spoiler for X rated:
It feels great but the image quality is still very poor. I turn her back over and decide I will experiment with an
      Spoiler for X rated:
      This feels even better
then I get the sound of my bedroom door opening and then the feeling of someone grabbing both my feet and tugging on them once as if to say hey what are you doing still asleep. I get a strong urge to confirm whether or not this is actually happening and as I am apparently dreaming of myself rolling around in my bed and feeling like I'm completely naked I notice that I can't open my eyes. This makes me suspicious that I'm still dreaming and I sit up in bed (still in the dream) and I blindly growl like a crazy person having a bit of fun. I get the strong urge again to make sure that I'm still dreaming and I then force my eyes open to a view of my sleep mask actually now fully awake but eyes still wanting to close some more. If it were not for this strong urge to make sure someone was not inside my room I think I could've gone on dreaming some more but perhaps with weaker recall of all that happened before, who knows. I'm at the moment of transcribing this trying to decide if I should try again but it seems too late and probably a waste of waking life since the odds are very low. I have also become quite awake now transcribing all of this. I also feel that over-sleeping will cut into my dreaming tonight. Although the visuals left much to be desired, I am very happy that my presence in a lucid dream was back very strong as compared to my last several lucid dreams. I had a much stronger sense of self. Also, the sensations were very strong. With my day practices becoming rote again yesterday, I looked up and did exercise 4B from the open beta exercises and it drew some inspiration for me. The mechanics of this particular wake back to bed and DEILD are still unclear to me. 200

Quick notes on previous 3 LDs:

Time doesn't make sense=lucid. #timeInconsistent . Time was showing much earlier in day when it was just night. Bounce/float in house=fun. Peek out front. Go out back to 2 different neighbors. Maybe 3 minutes. Wake otherwise might have forgotten. Low recall. 199

      9/6/14

Mom visiting soon IWL. In dream she brought my eldest cousin on her side and we had a long hug. I wanted my #Mom to give me #hug too but my cousin really seemed to miss me. Too much? Then she is accidentally brushing her hand against my junk? #dcBoldness Wait she keeps doing it. I ask her if this is a dream and then realize a DC could give me any answer true or not so need to RC but still hugging. Try float then glottal RC. The lucid was almost lost with glottal RC which confirmed I am dreaming. Though almost lost, it still felt very dreamy and I caught that it wasn't over and extended dream patiently waiting in void-like fuzziness/grayness imagining a beautiful blonde unfortunately got one that seemed to be based off another cousin but wasn't an exact match for her. Undressed her and had intercourse. FA recording dream. 198

Friend has an assistant named Wuellda? So and so said she would be here..wait no she told me that...what in a dream?..exactly! #dream thought of.

11? 230 I'm finally turned 21. A countdown clock or app confirms #tracking. I can finally get into that cool #club and will go tonight. No one can hold me back anymore. Gambling on a cards table game to get #money for something. This feels like it would be my son's dream as I recall no excitement when I turned 21. #casino

Earlier there was a fight in lazy river where floating with son. Before people #fall from water slides not following rules. Before I am #driving and getting directions from passenger to a 15 floor building, repeatedly asking is that it...no, I see it is just a water slide tower. FA caught: talk to wife from edge only air escaping sound #gasping and some hand movements. #362 - DEILD - 4:14AM

WBTB was tough! I tried staying up longer but only made it 5 or 10 minutes. I was super tired and didn't bother trying to WILD hoping to ride the galantamine out later in a DILD or DEILD.

I wake from a non-lucid dream about putting up Christmas decorations in my old house. There are multiple people from parts of my life that don't mess. I feel confused and unsure what to do.

I roll over throwing and arm up but it puts me in awkward position. I hit vibrations almost right away but I feel so uncomfortable at the same. I try to tough it out knowing that if I can get past this I wont even feel my physical body. I eventually have to break out of it and adjust myself.

After a few minutes, vibrations start up again and I spend a lot of time trying to break into the dream. The paralysis is strong and I can't seem to transfer over to my dream body. All I can manage is some wiggling motions at first. Several minutes later I start making it out blind and can only feel along the wall and them get slammed back in my body.

Much later I make it outside though I'm still a little unstable. I recall that I have been missing the feel of the air when I step out in my lucids so I check it. It feels really cold outside. Too cold for comfort. I shift my attention away from it and I notice it no more. I remember my goal is three part; find Robin Williams, ask for my fortune cookie, and make a patronus. I begin searching for Robin and I see a red SUV parked on the street. I punch the window and make a fist-sized hole but it really hurt and my hand didn't go through like I expected. I pause looking at my hand. "OUCH!" I shake away the pain and just open the car door. There's is a woman in a tan business suit at the wheel but she seems really drunk and disoriented. I shake her and she is barely able to look at before passing out. I cop a feel of her right breast before I walk away.

I see other cars down the street with head lights on. One turns off and I get a direct hit from the lights blinding me. This disorients me and the dream crashes. I think I might DEILD but the thought of all that effort made me just roll over and give up for now.

Sorry for all the tense changes and conversational tone, I rushed this a bit.

So I have some really fuzzy WILD that I admittedly had forgotten to stabilize (oops), I start off and I’m in my own dining room, but I’m standing next to a couple of dudes and I’ve got no idea who they are. Immediately they start saying they need my help saving some Princess; while I do like to see where the story in lucid dreams takes me, I recall how often I get annoyed when I get sucked into dream plots before completing my goals, so I tell them to wait a sec with a hint of annoyance in my voice and I walk outside through our backdoor onto the balcony.

My lawn looks a little bit Autumn-y, though I think the most unusual thing was the fog. Yeah, the area was pretty foggy, and I couldn’t see further than a couple hundred feet. I eventually focused on a few points here and there to try to clear up some of it and I find that far out past some woods are a bunch of mountains, which to me, are an obvious confirmation that I’m dreaming. For whatever reason, I decide to ignore these anyway and come up with a plan of my own.

These random dudes followed me outside onto the balcony and are wondering what I’m doing, and I basically just ignore them as I decide I’m going to fly directly up into the sky and somehow come crashing back down. I climb onto the railing of the balcony and make a confident leap up towards the sky. I don’t go very far—I end up kind of floating around a little above the house like I’m in space. The guys are watching me astounded, but I’m just a little frustrated as I try to push myself up towards the sky.

It was weird—first I tried swimming up, but it ended up going pretty slowly. So, instead, I tried to envision that the air under me would give me some sort of push towards the sky. Not only did it work and I felt myself suddenly rising, but it gave me the momentum I needed to keep going. Eventually I felt myself rising pretty steadily, the wind going past my face. Though it didn't last long, this moment was pretty vivid. I'd even look down and it would look like the ground was literally being eaten up by the fog. I kept rising, and I ended up passing these flaky clouds--they weren't soft and liquidy, but more like... thin cotton candy. Weirdly enough, my cat was sitting on one of these clouds. Just lying there, chilling, watching me fly.

I laughed at this sight, and took a moment to stop and lower myself down to him to say hi. He gave me a couple of blinks and I kept going about my way. I flew up and up, though I never passed or even saw space. I just kept flying up towards the blueness of the sky. It always felt out of reach, neverending.

Eventually I stopped, gauging it was high enough. I had no idea how high I actually was, or how long it would take me to fall. It was so foggy, I couldn't see the ground, and since I could never reach space either, everything around me was just blue. And I was just... floating.

Then my wonder turned to confusion as I realized the problem: how was I going to get down? While I was skilled enough in flying, I was certainly not skilled in not flying while flying...er, or something to that effect. All I was familiar with was landing, which I couldn't do a thousand feet in the air.

I got a little creative and came up with the idea of pretending I'm flying because I'm tensed up, or holding onto something. Although there was nothing actually there, I gripped the air like I was holding onto something, and I tensed up my body as if I was really trying to hold on tight. Though it wasn't visible, I did get the feeling that something was in my hands, and my feet gradually started dangling, as if it was the reason I was still in the air.

I let go, and I immediately started falling--well, everything was still blue, but I felt like I was falling. Apparently there's no such thing as terminal velocity in my subconscious, because it constantly felt like I was accelerating. I would go down and down, and the air would whip past me, and I'd get butterflies in my stomach. This feeling lasted for maybe a dozen seconds--it was right when I started wondering if I was stuck, if I'd have to wake up or get creative to get somewhere, when suddenly the fog unveiled itself and the ground was right there.

Yeah, fog is trippy, I didn't see the ground until it was 20 feet away.

I hit the ground on my stomach with a slight bounce, but it wasn't painful in the slightest. Actually, it was much more shocking, like a sudden adrenaline rush or as if there was an unexpected drop on a rollercoaster. I desperately held onto the dream though, feeling the grass with my hands and taking in how it smelled, and thankfully I didn't wake up. As soon as I was confident I'd stay in the dream and the shock faded, I stood up casually and brushed the grass off my clothes. I noticed I ended up in my lawn, so I started heading back up the balcony.

One of these other dudes asked me, "What was that for?"

All I said was, "Just proving myself as a God. So, what was all this about a Princess?"

      Lucid dare done.

So now he started telling me about how some Princess was captured by this other clan in the jungle that they're rivalling against. Honestly, it's some cheesy plot where people go to war over some hot 17-year-old chick.

He starts telling me more but mid-conversation I feel the dream fading, so I let it happen and perform a DEILD. The moment I'm back in the dream, I'm in the jungle they were talking about.

(side note: still forgot to stabilize)

So the guys I was with were all dressed pretty urban-y like they were actually civilized, but these jungle people I'm with now are all dressed like cavemen. These guys expect to get their Princess back?

I went around talking to some of them to find they don't actually have any sort of plan to get their Princess back either. I'm a little annoyed, so I try to think of my own. I see one of the dudes I met earlier (still dressed civilized unlike the rest) and ask him for more information on our side, if we have any weapons or even a base. He tells me their clan is part of some snowy place which apparently borders the jungle (biome logic; are we in Minecraft?), but as I glance around for it, he hastily tells me that it's getting dark and that we should be getting to sleep. I ask why that's so important, and he says that the rival clan is guarding the snowy territory.

I then wonder why we're in the jungle, but I just kind of say, "okay, whatever," and lie in the grass beside him. Eventually that other dude that was with him in the beginning of the dream came by us as well. We just kind of hung out, not saying much, and I took note of how swampy and wet the grass felt. Vibrant green leaves were on the ground besides us as well. Eventually the dream fades, and I DEILD again.

It's nighttime, and instantly I stand up and think, "oh wait, this is the perfect time to do something important." I started basically writing the plot in my head--I decided that back in the snowy territory was some stone or whatever that possessing would defeat the rest of the clan (on hindsight, it really would've just been easier if it was in my pocket, but oh well). Now would be the best time to get it, because everyone would be asleep.

I made my way to the snowy place in which I just instinctively knew where it was, but to my dismay there were people all geared up with guns that were guarding the place. I wondered how I'd get away with this, then decided I would transform into an Arctic wolf as a disguise. Since doing this task, transformation has never been a problem for me, and I especially could relate with already having specifically transformed into a white wolf in a snowy territory. Most of it was will--I just ran through the edge of the territory, and looked down at my hands until they began pounding against the ground. I felt fur surround my body, and I knew the transformation worked.

I look around and the guards are completely ignoring me, I see this hill where there's this glowing blue stone at the top of it, so I end up trotting over no problem towards it. The guards continue ignoring me, and I even manage to get the stone in my mouth. I get a little nervous at this point, and just try to casually walk back towards the jungle. My nervousness gets the best of me however as I hear a shout to my right--one of the guards saw me with the stone, and boom, just like that, all of them were on me. I took off at full speed, somehow managing to dodge their bullets. I made it back into the jungle, but they kept chasing me, and the commotion quickly awoke everyone else. For whatever reason everyone else had guns too (maybe it was because of the stone?), and everyone was quickly wide awake fighting clan versus clan in a nasty gun battle in the jungle. I turned to human form as well which wasn't too hard, kept the stone in my pocket, and quickly summoned and took out a gun from my other side. It was a simple trick I used a lot in dreams: act like I was pulling out a gun from my right pocket, and it would suddenly be there in my hand.

What was most interesting about this part is that I felt invincible--nothing really affected me, but I could kill anyone by just looking at them. So I did, in plain sight as well, just shot the DCs I knew were from the other clan.

I don't really know why, I guess it was just coming to the end of my dream time, but I felt the dream fading once again. I knew it was getting late into the morning, so I decided that would be it--but not without taking the stone out of my pocket and quickly finding one of the dudes from the beginning of the dream. I gave him the stone and told him to use it to get the Princess back. He mumbled something back, but it was so fuzzy I don't really remember what, and just kept going about shooting these other guys. Because of that, I'm going to assume whatever he said was a good thing.

I woke up, and I like to think that they ended up succeeding in getting back their Princess from the jungle.

I find myself semi-conscious and decide to attempt a FILD. Almost immediately I hear the crackling noise from my last SP experience. The crackling intensifies as I move my fingers faster, and I decide to attempt an OBE. This fails and I decide to try to visualize a new dream instead. However, this too fails and I find myself awake. In my childhood bedroom. My friend T is trapped in a glass box on the floor and is screaming and beating on the side.

I realize the FILD worked after all, but I'm still scared. I leap out of the bed, screaming "I'm having a lucid dream!" I trip over something and find myself in the void.

I decide to try a trick I picked up from CanisLucidus's dream journals and imagine swinging a sword around in one arm. I begin to hear shouts and clashing steel and wonder if I'm going to end up in the Coliseum. I'm not sure if I'm ready for something like that, and soon I end up right back in the hallway outside my childhood bedroom.

I realize I'd better stabilize and start looking at my hands. I feel stability slipping away, and since my last three stabilization attempts lead to early awakenings, I decide to just skip it and go for my lucid goal: eating a Krispy Kreme burger and drinking an IPA.

I fly (perhaps literally) down the stairs, briefly marveling at their similarity to the real ones. I decide the burger won't be in the fridge, since I don't want to microwave it. Rather, I think to myself, "that's right, my parents said they'd leave it for me on the piano bench." I go into the living room, and sure enough, there's a greasy white bag with "Krispy Kreme" written on it. I pick it up and it feels pleasantly warm.

I consider taking a bite right there, but I want that beer to wash it down. I go into the kitchen, expecting it to be in the fridge. But there's no beer there. I try to make my expectation more specific: "OK, there's a Flying Dog IPA right in the ice tray in the freezer..." I open the freezer door, and the beer is right where I thought it would be. I take it out
      and wake up.

Not trying to stabilize seemed to help prolong the dream here, although I got the impression that the dream wasn't particularly vivid. I wonder if I'm doing my stabilizations wrong: perhaps focusing too intently? Anybody have any ideas about what to do differently?

    10. Lucid #2: Juvenile Delinquency

      by , 07-15-2014 at 11:47 AM
I have a long, meandering dream which ends with me being shot. As everything fades to black, I think with some frustration, "I hope my next dream is better." I become lucid.

I'm in a supermarket. I shout out "I'm lucid!" and start running down the aisle. I slap a 12-year-old kid in the back of the head for no reason, then slow down. I know if I get too excited, I'll lose lucidity. I look behind me and maybe apologize, but the kid doesn't bother me.

I try the "hand examination" method of dream stabilization and look at my hands. They're a mess. Three fingers on one hand, the other has fingers blinking in and out of existence. I keep focusing, trying to will them to become normal, but it doesn't happen. Soon, the dream fades to black.
(Unsure if this was part of the same dream or an exit, or if it matters).

I find myself in the void and attempt to spin out of it. I spin slowly at first but nothing happens, so I decide to spin faster. I find myself in the kitchen of my childhood home, where the original long dream started. In the dream, I label this as a false awakening and think, "this makes sense because I tried to WILD from here."

I look at my hands again to stabilize. They're still a wreck but may look a little better. However, they're not returning to normal and I fear the dream will end soon.

Out of the corner of my eye I see a fish statue I recognize from my house, except here it's painted bright red. I decide to throw it through the family room window. I first do a nose-pinch RC to ensure I'm dreaming, and I am. I head towards the fish and
      wake up.

Dream: This dream was strange, but great at the same time. I wont even try to explain the dream in chronoligical occurence. I will list the things i can remember, here we go: I start out at road, and i find a girl. I dont really think, i just act on instinct. I have however had this dream before, or atleast a similiar one. I put her on my back, and start walking. Now onto the events that happened after: -Me and the girl arrive at a restaurant, i put her in a seat and start talking to some of my friends. We eventually leave, but i notice something strange. Whenever i am not holding the girl, my gravity is messed up! -At this point i am lucid, and i try my best to ''fix'' the gravity, i eventually get it down and now i have normal gravity! I was super stoked over this, since gravity was one of my short-term dream goals! -I am in a car graveyard, i spot fredriksten festning. I look at the ground and at fredriksten. It feels strange having a dream this vivid and clear, and being lucid. -Me and the girl try our best to swin through some kind of water challange. -Me and the girl mow down some guy fighting a few kids. -Me and the girl arrive at stonehenge-like place with a mean looking guy in the middle, i realize the girl is some kind of prophet needed to beat this man. We scare him off and move on. Eventually we meet the same guy again, we defeat him using the girls powers. At this point the dream messes itself up, and it becomes some kind of pixelated jump game. Throughout this entire dream i woke up, and fell asleep MANY times.

My recall is a bit patchy and my level of lucidity wasn't very high and kept coming and going, but I managed a basic task nonetheless :-)

I got lucid from a DEILD using an odd dance manoeuvre as my anchor (hopping into the air and touching my left knee against my right elbow, alternating with the opposite way around) I came into my LD on a sunny street with lots of old buildings (a hodgepodge of Tudor, late Victorian redbrick, and other stuff - I wasn't looking, really)

I still felt a little unstable in my dream because I had a residual sensation of my sleeping body's arms, so I decided to look at my feet and legs and work up to my arms. I was wearing the same clothes as I had been wearing that day in waking life.

Once I saw my dream body's hands, I knew I wasn't in immediate danger of waking up again, so I started leaping into the air to get a better view of the scene and find an interesting DC to interact with. I saw a few faces with greater clarity than I usually get (most of my DCs have very vague faces indeed and seeing clearer faces is one of my personal dream goals)

I got a little distracted by a couple of DCs who probably ought to have taken a pregnancy test and might have got me one of the advanced tasks! This is a sure sign of fading lucidity for me, but after a while I realised I was still lucid and tried to remember the tasks. The only one I could remember was the kiss-a-guy task, which I probably remembered just because I didn't like the idea of it at all! As I was still on the street with the old buildings, I started looking for male DCs to smooch and ended up in a warehouse / workshop with some big burly men working on manly metalwork type things in hard hats and such. I approached the nearest one, probably about my age with designer stubble, and went to kiss him. He cooperated because in my dream he was only there for the task, so it made no sense for him to so otherwise. I gave him a quick peck on the lips and moved on.

Anyway, as I said, I only managed one basic task, and I've missed out what felt like about 20 minutes of not-really-lucid that I don't remember very clearly (including a big section with my little girl sleeping in a small tent in my bedroom - dreamsign?) So if there's a one wing option, I'd be happy to take that and see if I can improve on this attempt some time over the next couple of weeks

    13. 5/25 & 5/27 I'm Scared Placeholder DEILD, WILD, DILD, +DILDx2 During 2 Part Nap

      by , 05-27-2014 at 09:01 PM
5/25/14 DEILD, WILD, DILD between clear awakenings ~4am 7am 8:30am

5/27/14 2 Nap DILDs between awakenings and NLDs- day off wake from each around 10am & 11am; shutters in odd place, good waking awareness

I think the return of multiple LDs in a night is due to the self-hypnosis script that StephL posted and so far I have used only once but I think it was more effective for me due to the over 1 year of background work on self-awareness and other lucid dreaming fundamentals...I guess we'll see.

I hope to fill in the details later but Girl Friday was there a lot.

I'm scared that I may start to nap too much. I never had much success with naps and to have 2 DILDs in one 2 hour nap session this morning could draw me in to more naps.
    14. Carnival Chain

This lucid is from the morning of 5/11/2014.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #208: Carnival Chain

I have a false awakening where Wife is bustling about the room getting ready for something. I’m groggy and not seeing anything too well, but I follow her as she heads out the door. There’s some kind of event that we’re supposed to be getting ready for, but I have no memory of what it is. I do remember wanting to have a lucid dream, though, so I feel frustrated that I’m expected to get up.

I follow Wife for a bit and suddenly we’re outside by some docks. She’s dressed in a white sundress that I’ve never seen her in before, holding hands with our two children “E” and “R”. She looks beautiful. I wish that I could go with them but I’m almost too tired to move.

I tell her that I’m going back to bed, which she seems to accept. Somehow I stagger back to the bed and as soon as my head hits the pillow, I attempt to WILD. Right away I get the sense of motion and I can’t believe how quickly it’s working. I go with the momentum and experience a moment of massive acceleration before
emerging in a mid-morning carnival scene that I know is a dream.

I’m not pleased with the vividness of the scene, so I rub my hands together and then stare at them, trying to draw out as much detail as I can. It takes a few frustrating moments but finally fine details start to emerge. One oddity is that my hands are covered with cuts and scrapes like I’ve been fighting or working with something sharp.

As the scene comes into better focus, I see that Wife is walking here with me at the carnival. We pass a sandwich vendor who stops us and begins an emphatic explanation of what it takes to make the turkey sandwich. He says that the “traditional” sandwich of “turkey on a donut” is outdated and that rye bread is the wave of the future. It sounds crazy to me, but I try to grasp the details, hoping for some flash of insight. It never comes, though, and
      the dream fades.

I hold on for DEILD, and in a few seconds I’m back in the carnival scene. I take a few steps but something seems to be stuck in my throat. I try to sort of gag and clear my throat, but it’s still there. I feel like there’s some kind of waking life problem and remember that I’m sleeping on my stomach. I have this vision of the pillow pressing on my throat and in a few seconds, I’m out of the dream.

I flop onto my side, get ready for DEILD, and re-enter the carnival scene a few seconds later. Wife’s here with me again, and says something flirtatious. I’m feeling very interested, so we make out for a bit before getting down to some sexytime. I’ll spare the details here, but it's interesting that after the "festivities" the dream continues long enough for us to wander around the carnival a bit more.

      Finally
the dream breaks, and I DEILD in one last time to the same carnival scene. Wife and I pass by a carnival barker who’s inviting passerby to try out the “lucidity machine”, a large, boxy contraption that he says is guaranteed to make you have a lucid dream for only “4 quarters”.

I encourage Wife to try this out. “But you’re already having a lucid dream,” she replies.

      “Yeah, but you’re not.”

She wrinkles her nose. “Four quarters seems kind of expensive.”

“It’s not real money,” I tell her. “Please just try it.”

I’m exasperated by all of this. Wife shakes her head and continues to skeptically study the device as
      the dream ends.

    15. Cruising Forcefully (Task of the Month)

      by , 05-02-2014 at 05:27 PM
I'm on a cruise ship sailing into port. I'm lounging on the Lido deck and looking at the ship parked next to us, which appears to be from Royal Caribbean judging from the distinctive crown and anchor logo. Everyone else is buzzing about going ashore, and I should probably be getting ready myself, but where am I? I have no idea what port this is. I have an idea that feels brilliant: I'll check Google Maps on my iPad and see what my current location is. But it's not so simple. Google Maps takes forever to load, refuses to show my location, and seems really hung up on a landlocked plateau in South America. I give up and run to my cabin. There's a Costco reusable shopping tote on the floor, and I ponder whether it belongs to me or to one of my roommates. I'll have to see where I can get one for myself. I pop into the bathroom and use the toilet. I look out the window as I'm going -- and realize that this isn't a toilet, but actually a lounge chair on the balcony and people on the ship next to us are watching me pee. I look over and realize my stepmother is sitting on the lounge chair next to me, and she has a look of disgust on her face.

I must have started to wake up. The dream ended, but I realized I was still physically asleep while my mind was awake. I needed to take advantage of this!

I really can't remember my last dream (in fact, I didn't remember anything from the cruise ship until I got up later) but I can remember only one of the tasks of the month: use the Force. I picture an inflatable blue ball, sort of like a cross between a basketball and a soccer ball. I toss it around a bit using the Force to guide it up and down, back and forth. The ball deflates and one of my coworkers appears, a woman who is not that bright. She offers to show me where I can get an air compressor. I follow her until she finds the appropriate model. Then, using the Force, I shove her away and prevent her from saying any more useless things. Then I use the Force to insert the needle attachment into the ball, connect the hose to the needle, and telekinetically flip the on switch on the air compressor.

I feel that using telekinesis just isn't enough. I let the Force flow through me, and suddenly I feel thousands of Expanded Universe characters crying out in despair over being erased in the new movie. That's a shame. I really liked Jaina Solo.

I try to think of other things I want to do, and I see a door open. Inside are a couple of men wearing suits. I remember a dilemma I was having with my boss and I summon him out of the room. Then I use the Force to pin him against a wall and tell him, "You will approve my request to supply power to the display models in my department." He looks terrified and nods in agreement. I can hear birds chirping outside and realize I'm losing the dream. The problem with using the Force for everything is that my sense of touch helps me stabilize. I summon a light saber so I can grasp the hilt. Unfortunately, instead of a "real" light saber, I get my friend's toy light saber. I feel the plastic hilt and try to focus on summoning a more realistic light saber like one from the movies, but I wake up too quickly.
