    1. (September 23,2015) Destiny, and a dragon

      by , 09-24-2015 at 01:02 AM
Trying to get back into dreaming stuff.

So im writing this a little bit late, but its better than not writing it at all.

I find myself in some sort of futuristic building, with blue lights around me in tight hallways. I have a red and blue shot gun in my hands as I am in danger. Servitors from the game destiny, appear and tha map goes into lockdown, sounding alarms and closing certain path ways. I fight the servitors with my shotgun successfully and fight my way out into what looked to be a junkyard full of old metal and trash. when I walk out of the building, the exit is very tall and wide, and then a dragon appears at the exit after I have left and it sees me. I quickly run behind a pile of metal as it starts breathing fire outward towards me. I can see the flames shooting around the pile of metal I am hiding behind and I can feel the heat of the flames. I then wake.

    2. Crashing into the pink and gold planet, The easter island heads beach, Destiny

by , 08-27-2014 at 04:53 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am at the helm of a spaceship exploring another solar system. I can recall there is an inner system of gas planets and an outer system of gas planets, leaving room in the middle for a belt of smaller rocky planets to orbit. This is the area that command has asked us to explore.
Anyways, I end up falling asleep at the helm, only to be awoke by the ships alarm because the radar has picked up that we are near the surface of something. I wake up and see that we are flying dangerously low over the surface of a very strange planet.
The planet has a bright pink surface, with pink boulders scattered about, and there are huge golden crystals jutting out from the surface. In some of the crystals there were evidence of carving as though an alien civilization had carved out the inside of the golden crystals into homes.
Regardless, we are about to crash. I begin turning the ship upwards, and fire the main engine. The main engine is rather slow however, and after about fifteen seconds and almost no change in velocity we run out of fuel.
The ship ends up crashing into a large golden crystal. I somehow survive. Command scolds me for falling asleep at the helm and killing my entire crew... But I was alone.
I know that I am going to die, but I figure I might as well explore some of the hollowed out crystals in my space suit before I run out of oxygen. I think eventually I do run out of oxygen and discover that what I have been doing was actually just a training simulation and I failed because I fell asleep.

I do not recall much at all about this dream. It feels like I might have actually had this dream years ago and perhaps only recalled it now. I don't even recall the plot of the dream, only the location that it took place in.
I recall a beach with Easter island heads on it. Everywhere. They all looked exactly the same but some were broken. Some were tipped over. Some had palm trees growing out of them. The beach is beautiful. The water is clear and blue, and the clouds in the sky looked amazing. It was a very vivid dream.
I can also recall being on a boat and going down a river that let out into the ocean. I think Manei may have been there but I am not sure.

H has invited me to go to a convention/event type thing where we are going to get an early-release copy of the game Destiny. Anyways me and a few hundred people are waiting around in what sort of feels like the cafeteria to my old middle school. (Yes we get to put a because there is a connection to my old middle school. In fact, we get to put two. I hated middle school.)
Anyways I am sitting at the table with H and my cousin and many other people. I look around and think that the crowd is awfully young to be playing this game. I mean this is an officially sponsored event by Bungie, and I think that Destiny is going to be rated T or M, so having almost the entire crowd by eight-year-olds is a little odd. Granted, there are some older people in here, but me and them are in the minority.
Also, to add to the childishness of the event all of the tables boxes of crayons and coloring pages. I don't remember actually coloring anything, but I think H was. We sat there for what felt like a really long time and caught up.
Anyways, to decide who gets an early-release copy of Destiny you get to draw a card out of this jar. If you get a white card, you have to leave, but if you get a card that is sort of a teal color then you win a free copy, and get to stay and play in a big LAN party with everyone. I end up getting a white card but somebody else lets me have their card, them having a teal one obviously. I wake up a few moments after they give me the card.
    3. Space race and malfunctioning robot

      by , 01-12-2014 at 12:07 AM
Friday: A mountain "full of fog, 'wolves' and 'sheep'", where a woman who'll wind up becoming a historical figure is setting out to show the other side that some of their 'wolves' have deserted and are now helping her guard the 'sheep.'

Today: A guy in space, traveling toward Earth along with many, many other ships in some kind of race, the ship he's in seems made up of many different old parts, pieces are falling off along the way but he seems to have expected that. He's full of rage. There was something to do with lots being drawn, and his younger sister had been one of the winners, which would have meant she was safe and wouldn't have to take her chances in the race with the rest of them, but her parents (from whom he's estranged) had convinced her to give up her slot, that she must live or die and "become ashes" with them, so that they wouldn't be separated in the next life and lose her forever. She told him about this as he was looking over her ship for her, and he found something wrong with it, something that had been sabotaged, that would prevent him from communicating with her after the journey even if they both survived. He fixes it, and is furious.

Still the same storyline - there's a woman somewhere "left behind", the place all the people in the race and the lottery were abandoning. She wakes up with a gun next to her - not hers - and sees someone who says something to her. She, outraged by what he said, says "I don't look like a nice person to you?", and shoots him. Her logic being that if he couldn't recognize a good person when he saw one, he must be a bad person. As she shoots him, her face changes in some subtle way, something to do with her teeth, and I'm aware that in this place, now, people physically change to reflect their actions, and this is part of what the others were escaping from.

A conversation between a man and a woman in a bedroom as she's tying sheets together into a ladder, preparing to escape:
He: "I thought you might have missed it."
      She: "Missed what?"
      He: "The window."
She: "I can't miss the window. You're my destiny - war."

After an incident with a robot - it appeared human and was programmed to act as a caregiver to a group of four kids, something had gone wrong with it and put the kids in danger. Now someone's complaining to someone else about it - one's in law enforcement, the other's in politics, not sure which one is which. The one listening to the complaint responds, "I believe I oversaw the (something). And (something) to call in some backup." But when she says 'backup', she's not talking about something official. I see an image of two guys, not in any kind of uniform, one's scrawny and one's a little overweight, they have some connection to photography, possibly the press - they're the 'backup' she was referring to.
    4. Thurs Oct 11 (1:27-7:03)

      by , 10-11-2012 at 02:41 PM (Glieuaeiel's DJ)
      It's Your Destiny (6:58)

A red-haired anime girl repeatedly walks up to my character and hands him a note. Half the time, she folds it into a paper airplane and blows it at him like she's blowing a kiss. The other half is a similar animation that also involves her blowing something at him. It's obvious that only these two animations were made, and they alternate randomly for variety. In both, after she delivers the note, she uses a pink rod about the size of a penis, which turns into an umbrella, and she floats away.

Some girls I know who have played the game before tell me that no matter how you play it, your character ends up with that girl. It has something to do with your destiny. I'm resistant to this idea, but there's clearly a different girl following me around in the game to enforce my destiny. The next time I see her approach, I get ready to do battle. I'm not exactly excited at the concept. I have a premonition that this battle will involve throwing fireballs, though, so at the least it will give me inspiration for lucid dream control, when I ever have one again. [D'oh!]

Indeed, one or two golf-ball sized fireballs are thrown. We also try setting traps on various pieces of furniture, but I'm not sure exactly how to set them off. Anyway, this girl is herself not an expert at this kind of fighting, so I'm not completely flattened. Some people my age are standing in a nearby driveway (it's dusk), which complicates things, because I think we're supposed to keep our abilities a secret. As I'm looking around, I notice an uncanny coincidence: of the three groups of people standing nearby, all are holding or manipulating a car tailgate/rear bumper, and our spells start affecting all three bumpers at once. It's such a strange coincidence that I start to wonder whether maybe destiny has something to do with it.

There's a man walking around the bar, singing enthusiastically along with the background music (which is Copeland's Hoedown). Our battle ends at the same time as the music.

      Gingerly (6:58)

My family is walking into a building through a room with a lot of dog poop in it. Fortunately, there's a clear path around the side. Unfortunately, my mom trips and falls into the dirty part, then rolls through the dirty part before coming to a stop. That last part was totally unnecessary. She could have stopped herself somehow. My sisters are making loud, disgusted noises.

On the way out, I consider going around the other way, but it turns out that there are a ton of cobwebs between the car and the wall of the garage. Not worth it. So I go ahead of the group back around the original way so that I can open the door. We're talking about how this was just a routine checkup for our dog, but last year's checkup was routine and it led to discovering an illness which she hasn't recovered from to this day. So we're hoping for good news, but we're worried. We're also trying to coordinate times and places, because there's something I need to go to on my own, and someone else will have to pick me up.

      Burnt Sugar Cookies (6:58)

Last night, someone made SO MANY sugar cookies. Dad shows me the box. They're all a little burnt, so they're brown rather than beige. They're going to be used as rewards. Dad also shows me the container which is supposedly full of grease from all the cleaning that had to be done afterward.

We try talking to my middle sister about something stupid she's doing. Mom's been trying to convince her to stop, but she isn't listening. I decide to pipe up and try to calm things down. I admit to her that I don't know as many of the details of the situation as Mom does, but I still agree with Mom's assessment that she should stop. I try to give some reasons, but I'm not sure that she listens.

Later, we're sitting around the dinner table. Dad tells everyone about how I've solved some of my professor's "Challenge Problems." I hadn't been planning on bringing it up, because that would be bragging. But now everyone's looking at me expectantly, so I say yes, I solved two of them. "Both of which I've already seen from other sources," I add. My eldest sister says encouragingly that there's no problem with that; it's all about "unifying the notation." I nod. I'd never thought of it that way before.

      Springtime Traditions (6:58)
      Spoiler for Springtime Traditions:
      Frags:
      • Someone asks me my year in school, so I hold up three fingers. "Fourth?" they ask. I suppose the little short wall between us might have gotten in the way, so I raise my hand higher and say, "Ah, no, third," and they say, "Ah, of course." I wonder if my pinky wasn't folded over far enough the first time.
      • There's a free bottle of alcohol lying around, so I grab it. Reading the label, I see that it's apparently bourbon. Excellent; I haven't tried that kind yet. [IRL I have this thing where I kind of want to try all the different kinds of alcohol, and then maybe never drink again after that. Who knows.] I put the bottle in my backpack. I still feel weird doing things like that; I feel like it should be illegal for me to possess alcohol. But it's not, anymore.
      • I witness an awesome piece of scenery, and I try to impress it on my memory. It might have involved clouds.

    5. [Falling In Love With a Loser]

by , 09-11-2012 at 11:36 PM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
[Tuesday, September 11th, 2012] [ND] [Falling In Love With A Loser]
(I took a nap around 11:30am after copying down my dream journal to notepad.)
      It's a Game-show! And I'm on it!
I'm sucked through a flesh-hole into a watery room that fills and empties with water. Breathing underwater doesn't seem to be very hard, because everyone else and I can do it pretty easily. It's a game-show. A pretty made-up actress asks questions to contestants on TV, and a dumb puff-fish answers: "You're attractive." Others answer too. This must be recorded.

I met a little blue sea-horse, she was very sweet and familiar. I grew fond of her instantly. There were problems with her emotional stability; however, she was like the Moon and the Sun sometimes. She was so very unique and harshly beautiful. She was also capable of dark moments. But there was something about her that said I could trust her.

Another contestant: A "black" fish. He was pretty funny, and spent most of the game being an entertainer. There were more contestants, but none that I can recall directly.

Another contestant: Stewie- who could switch form with octopus form. I start the game from HIS perspective. Through his eyes, I win a few games out of pure ingenuity. I'm still in love with the sea-horse through him. After a few game phases, I shift out into my own being again.

I remember an image flashing through my mind of a ripped off limb, an arm gone from the socket, and a leg torn badly.

I remember hearing some characters from American Dad speak...
Wife: "Stan... There's Canadians playing here. Aren't you worried?"
Stan: "This show isn't rigged, it's completely fair! Meaning I have the unfair advantage. I can just kick their ass with my win."

It starts off and the little blue sea-horse and I start the game trusting each other. We help each other and win with each other in mind. But after a few games of trying to impress the little blue sea-horse, she becomes intimidated. She sees me as slightly selfish (shellfish lol). And I must have begun to change, because she didn't like the new me.

I don't remember many specifics of the games themselves unfortunately; I just remember bits and pieces and residue that still lingers...

I end up winning the entire show.
"I WON!" I was the winner! ...I felt kind of awkward saying that for some reason... I dropped on my knees and slid across the arena room's center, throwing my hands up as a sign of revel. But that was awkward too... I looked up at the Little Blue Sea-Horse, she was talking sweet to another puff-fish. I had... lost. The Little Blue Sea-Horse I had tried so hard for, had swam away with the current... and I wasn't sure who to blame but her, the current, or... me? That was the lesson. For anything that happens in life. The only one you can blame is yourself. You are the only one in control of fate, the only one who has the power to change your path. Your destiny exists, it's the most probable one; but if you do nothing, your future WILL fit to a mold. That mold is destiny.

But... If only I had stopped to "listen" to my Little Blue Sea-horse... Maybe I wouldn't have lost her.

The last thing I remember: Emma and I were trying to exit the arena-room through the flesh-hole.
"Well, I guess it's time to leave." I wondered how high up I would have to swim after this. I mean... assuming this place was actually underwater. I couldn't remember how I got in here. I stuck my hand in one of the holes that were in the horizontal line of holes and stretched the skin. I could feel the cold water instantly on the other-side. When I pulled my hand back in, I got to see Emma's head DRENCHED and her hair a mess, her face pale as snow from shock.
"You know, it might help a little bit more if you go out of these feet-first."
    6. Destiny - Ship Layout

Since I am still unable to recall my dreams, which I am now convinced is related to constant tiredness / headaches, I figured I'd do something else.
I remember there being a thread on DV about dream cartography and thought it would be a cool idea to try and remember the layout of Destiny and draw the schematics.

Destiny is a recurring story-arc in my non-lucid dreams: Click Me

I can recall most details surprisingly well, and it turned out quite alright.
I don't think I'd be able to do this for something like Haven though.

      Anyways, here's the schematics:
      - Fully pressurized / breathable sections are green
      - Engineering components and unpressurized sections or sections without air recycling are red
      - Fluid containers are blue
      - FTL / Hyperdrive system is orange
      - Deck-to-deck connections are pink
      - Outer hull sections are grey

      Habitation Deck: Link
Not shown are desks installed during ftl.
This is where the crew was most of the time.

      Engineering Deck: Link
This is where I spent most of the time, either idling in the cockpit or doing maintenance on various components in the engineering section.

      Payload Deck: Link
The lowering platform was never installed due to time pressure, and it wasn't clear what it should look like.
Ideally the entire payload bay ground should be able to be lowered.
The idea was to be able to lower big objects onto the ground after landing on other planets / moons, or deliver payloads into space.

Size compared to the NASA Space Shuttle: Link

      Wingspan:
      - Shuttle: 23.79m
      - Destiny: 79.5m

      Length:
      - Shuttle: 37.24m
      - Destiny: 64.5m

      Gross Liftoff Weight:
      - Shuttle: ~109t
      - Destiny: ~470t (no payload)

I kinda feel like making a 3d model of destiny now, but I haven't modeled in quite some time and I'm not sure I'd be able to.

    7. Destiny - First Contact

      , 03-05-2012 at 03:24 AM (Hyu's Adventures)
"Destiny" is a recurring dream scenario.
It is the name of the first faster than light spaceship, on a controversial mission to investigate a signal that can only be of alien origin.
Here's a summary of current events:
Recurring dream about a spaceship mission to find extraterrestrial life. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I have had a few more dreams about Destiny, but none of them drove the plot further.
I always find myself in the cockpit starting at instruments, but nothing ever happens.
      Tonight something did happen.

We're all strapped tightly into our seats.
      It is time.
A female computer voice is counting down to zero.
Once the countdown runs out we will begin the breaking maneuver to get out of ftl.
It will last approximately 20 minutes, which will most likely be rather unpleasant.
The artificial gravity system will compensate most of the g-forces, but if the acceleration maneuver was any indication
then there will be a considerable amount of vibrations.

      My assumptions weren't off.
The first few minutes of deceleration weren't too bad, If I had to venture I guess I'd estimate that we are experiencing about 2 g's right now.
However, after more than 10 minutes, this gets tiring and stressful.
The skin on your face feels like it is trying to peel itself off.
And that's the time when the vibrations start.

The hyperdrive is designed to operate at a specific speed, and it turns out that it does so surprisingly well.
However during the acceleration and deceleration phase, when the ship is still at ftl but far below the optimal operation speed,
saying that it is running sloppy would be putting it mildly.
Imagine an old car engine with a rough idle and a piston not firing properly.
Now imagine that engine having enough power to propel 400 tons with ease.

It's not just the vibrations, it's being shaken around what really wears you down.
The noise of the ftl drive is phenomenal though.
It is the sound of raw power; The sound of a thousand lions roaring over the echo of a thunderstorm.

I can barely appreciate the view. My eyes are focused on the main console, expecting a warning light to go off any second.
I miss most of the spectacle right in front of me. Slowing down to the speed of light, the view gradually shifts through the color spectrum, producing all sorts of fractal patterns.
But no alarm goes off. No warning light. Not even a check light.
As we drop below the speed of light, we are shortly blinded by a flash of light.

The vibrations and the g-forces gradually decrease.
We are back in normal space, coming to a stop.
Finally! Those 20 minutes felt like an eternity.

      "Initiating hyperdrive cool down phase."
"Hyperdrive will be available in approximately 20 hours."

      We'd better hope so.
Without the hyperdrive it would take a few thousand years to get back home.
It is safe to say that without it, we are screwed.

Everyone's pretty nervous. Nobody knew what to expect, but we were all expecting something.
We find ourselves not too far from a blue gas giant.
It doesn't seem to have any moons.
I find this a bit disappointing though I have no idea what I had in mind.
An inhabited planet? That would have been a bit ridiculous I guess.

But then a vague beep catches my attention.
The most important beep I will ever hear in my entire life.
The HUD highlights a location close to the gas station and has it marked as "UNK_00000"
UNK stands for unknown artificial object.
Non-artificial objects are marked with AST for asteroid instead.
UNK can be anything from an unofficial or military satellite to space debris.
But this time it is none of those.

It is in fact an alien space station orbiting the gas giant.
This is the only time where calling something alien is not premature.
Who else could have built an artificial structure orbiting a planet hundreds of light years away from earth?
We plot an interception course and point all of our sensors at the structures.

Catching up with the planet doesn't take very long, but synchronizing the orbit is a more time consuming task.
You can't just point the ship into the general direction of the space station and hit the throttle.
If you go too slow you get caught by the gravity of the planet, if you go too fast your orbit becomes elliptic.

The wait is painful. There are so many questions.
Is there anyone there? If so, how are we going to communicate? How will we make contact? ...

... We sit in front of the station for a prolonged period of time, trying to find out all sorts of things with the on-board scanning devices.
The station has begun to light a path towards what appears to be some sort of hangar bay.
It is clearly inviting us in...

... We have landed inside of the hangar, which surprisingly seems to be pressurized.
There must be some sort of force field in place keeping the air inside.
The air mixture is mostly nitrogen / oxygen... just like on earth.
A single hallway leads out of the hangar.
It is again lit by lights inviting us to step inside...

... I am walking through the corridor in a pressure suit, accompanied by our language and culture specialist.
We're not wearing the suits because the air isn't breathable, we're just afraid that if we do encounter any other living organism in here,
we might be contaminated by potentially dangerous bacteria.
The atmospheric scanners on the ship found the air to be sterile though...

... We enter a big, well lit room.
It is divided into two by a transparent wall...

... We are not alone ...

On the other side of the wall, a humanoid being is waiting.
I become so incredibly nervous that the feeling becomes so intense that I can no longer feel it.
      I just walk forward.
Thousands of questions answered within a split second.
Are we alone? Is there other intelligent life?
But those are immediately replaced by an identical amount of new questions.
Why would other intelligent life be humanoid? Why do they look so similar?
The odds for that are so insanely low.
Anyone who knows the basics of evolution would tell you that the likelihood of extraterrestrial life being similar to us is so low it is ridiculous.

Yet here I am, approaching this woman who looks more similar to humans with every step I take.
Eyes, eyebrows, a nose, a mouth, teeth, ears, two hands with 5 fingers each, thumbs.
Her hair is very different, it looks very organic, almost plantlike.
Her skin texture is also slightly different, but the only thing that is really obvious at first glance are her hair and her clothes.

      She smiles.
      I am so close now.
I look into her eyes, without any plans on what to do.
      I just follow my curiosity.

Her eyes... they remind me of something.
They are so vivid. So detailed.
I need to see them more clearly.

I unlock my helmet and take it off.
I don't worry about the consequences, I don't even think of them.
      I have to see.

I approach the transparent wall until I am nearly touching it with my face.
I take of my right gauntlet and press my hand against the wall.
She does the same with her left hand.
Our hands would be touching if there was no wall separating us now.

I can now see her eyes clearly.
      I know those eyes.
Those eyes so vibrant and colorful that they defy the capabilities of human vision.
Those eyes with an unlimited amount of detail.
The deeper you stare into them, the more details you can see.
It would be so easy to get lost in them.

I have only met three woman with such eyes in my life.
One is Yuya, another is the "hibiscus girl". http://www.dreamviews.org/blogs/hyu/...verload-23438/

The last is a mysterious woman from the future. A "twinner" as MoSh would say... http://www.dreamviews.org/blogs/hyu/...s-women-15610/

      Is is her...
Those eyes I wouldn't forget in a million years. They are so unique and the memory of them so powerful.
It is her, in the form of an extraterrestrial being.

This leads me to the obvious and only possible conclusion.
      I am dreaming.
      This is a dream.

I am not sure whether to be sad or amazed about this.
I feel both, so strong that I cannot distinguish between them.

She whispers something, but her voice cannot penetrate the wall.
My desire to know what she said is so incredibly strong I can only barely bear it.

The wall slides away and she hugs me tightly.
I am so confused, so full of joy, so ultimately sad.
My hands are shaking, I can barely stand. I have no control over my body.
She whispers in my hear with the most gentle voice I have ever heard:

      "Soon"

      The dream fades away.

I wake up still full of confusing emotions.
I can't decide whether I am overwhelmed by this amazing experience or by the sadness of the feeling that this "story" might have come to an end.
I think "This is why I dream"

I wasn't really able to write these down until now, I just had lots of things to do.
I have noticed that my dream recall has been acting a bit weird over the past few days.
I just seem to remember a ton of dreams, though most of them are very vague and fragmented.
My dreams don't seem to be more vivid or any longer though, so I'm not really sure if it's "better".
Nevertheless it feels weird remembering like ~10 different fragments a day.
These are a few interesting ones.

      Totm Attempt #1: Butterfly
I WILD during an afternoon nap, trying to complete the Totm.
I'm quite confident that I'll manage to succeed on the first try.

My dream starts on "the beach".
For some reason some of my WILD's randomly seem to start out on this beach.
It always looks the same, and it is always dusk.
I remember the Totm and approach the water in order to walk on it.
This is going to be easy I have done this many times before.

But as I approach the beach I suddenly spot a butterfly.
It is extremely colorful, with very colorful and vivid patterns on its wings.
      It's emitting glowing particles.
I follow it, intrigued as to where it is going and completely forget about the Totm.

      Totm Attempt #2:
I have another dream of being lost in an unknown hotel.
I become lucid and remember the Totm.
The dream is unstable and I'm not thinking very clearly.
Instead of stabilizing, I start running around aimlessly, attempting to find a water surface.
The dream quickly fades to black and ends.

      The hibiscus girl:
I had another dream about the hibiscus girl: Another mysterious woman / Emotional and sensory overload - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Unfortunately my recall of it is quite bad.

This time we are on the surface of another planet.
She has a red hibiscus attached to her left ear, looking very similar to the one drawn on her bikini last time.
We're having a discussion, I demand to know who she is.
She refuses to tell me though.
It seems clear by now that she is reading my DJ, I'm considering that she might be a DV member.
I make the comment that she has an "unfair advantage" over me, because she's able to read my DJ, yet I know nothing about her.

But she keeps denying my requests, and says that she likes being in control.
I remember that last time she was able to drag me to another place by simply looking into my eyes.
I attempt to do the same thing to her, and manage to drag her to the beach.

This surprises her quite a bit, but it also seems to amuse her.
I say that I never stated that I write everything down in my online DJ, she might be in for a few surprises.
She makes a comment that makes me believe that this is some sort of game to her.
I somehow understand this reasoning though and begin to share it.

      Totm Attempt #3:
I decide to attempt the Totm yet again. I'm determined to complete both tasks.
I do it during an afternoon nap yet again since I had some success last time, except that I got distracted.

Surprisingly, I enter the dream on the beach yet again.
This time I decide to stabilize the dream though, and calm my mind.
I rub my hands and slowly approach the sea.
I feel the sand beneath my toes. It's still moderately warm.

For some reason I'm a bit nervous as I start walking on the water surface.
Oddly enough I seem to be afraid to fail, even though I've done it many times before.
      Fortunately, it works flawlessly.
I walk on the water, deeper into the sea with my arms stretched out for additional balance.

Alright, so far so good, controlling elements is next.
I look at my right hand and make it catch on fire.
This is quite straightforwards as I have manipulated fire many times before.
But what other element could I possibly manipulate?
Water...? No. That's probably too hard.

I create an arc of lightning between two of my fingers.
I think that I have completed the Totm for a moment, but then realize that lighting isn't exactly one of the 4 elements.
What were the other ones again?
Fire, Water... Earth? I wouldn't know what to do with earth...
      Wind it is.

I compress some of the air around me into my right fist and release it forwards.
This creates a shock and air is propelled forwards.
The pressure upsets the water surface.

I'm not really satisfied with the result though.
I do the same thing again, this time compressing much more air.
This time it creates a small tornado, that runs flat over the water surface.
It lifts some of it up and sprays it all over the place.

I'm quite satisfied, and happy that I managed to complete both tasks within a single dream.
I decide to dive into the sea to see if I'll find something interesting, but it doesn't take long until I wake up.

      Destiny:
After a long time, I've started having dream fragments of "Destiny" yet again: Recurring dream about a spaceship mission to find extraterrestrial life. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
None of them drove "the plot" forward though.
I was always on board the Destiny completing a random task.
My memories of the dream fragments are quite vague.

non dream - lucid - non lucid

Ugh, what a busy week. I remember a lot of dreams, but for some messed up reason most of the good ones were on days
where I had to leave my house immediately after waking up, preventing me from writing them down properly.
This is what I remember from these dreams:

      Destiny
I'm on board the Destiny, getting quite excited.
We're close to our destination, just one day to go.
My co-pilot aka first officer enters the cockpit.
We exchange looks and I feel quite weird.
I think we had sex earlier today. We've both been in this spacecraft for over 2 weeks,
so the sexual tension was strong in both of us and it must have just happened.
I remember that we decided that no-one should have sex during the mission to avoid potential issues within the team.
I feel bad for breaking a rule I was originally in favor of, but I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones who have done so.

      Training with Liv
I'm on Teraluna teaching Liv how to fight more effectively with the help of Yuya and Faye.
Liv is stronger than I originally thought, but she's clearly nowhere close to Yuya or myself.
Liv's main problem is that she isn't very confident in her own abilities, and somewhat shy to use some of them.
Some of her abilities require her to dance in what I can only describe as a "sexy way".
This seems to be very uncomfortable for her.

      What is a Dream Guide?
I'm hanging out with Faye. I'm having a rather interesting conversation with her about Dream Guides.
She's saying many quite complex things, but the basics I can gather is that according to her,
a Dream Guide is someone who's main role it is to help me achieve goals in my dreams.
She also explains that she is very different from Yuya.
She is mostly a projection of my subconscious and a little bit of something else.

      Ice cream with Yuya
I'm on Teraluna with Yuya, at some kind of ice cream bar I guess.
I order the biggest chocolate sundae they have, and it is huge. o_o
It's served in a glass bowl shaped like a blossom.
We're sharing it, but I have no idea how we're supposed to finish this.

I eat too fast, like I always do, and get a massive brain freeze.
I am amazed that I am able to experience this pain so powerfully in the dream, so I deliberately resume eating too fast.
I get another brain freeze and say "Amazing!"
Yuya laughs and tells me that I am absolutely insane.
I say "I never claimed otherwise"

      Oracle
I am in the past, in Greece I think, in some sort of temple.
Some women dressed in white tunics escort me through the temple to a surreal looking room.
There's a crack in the floor with colorful fumes streaming out of it.
I sit in my designated spot noticing that I am a women myself.

I become semi-lucid and call out to Faye asking her for help.
She appears disguised in a similar Tunic and tells me that I am an Oracle, and I need to help someone take an important decision.
I tell her I don't know how to do that, but she insists it's ok, because the fumes in this room will cause me to get high, which will help.
I indeed start to get quite high.

A women enters the room, with an extremely fancy dress. She must be very important.
She asks me something and I give an answer that feels right, but doesn't make any sense whatsoever to me, and sounds completely out of context.
For some reason she knows exactly what to do now though and leaves happily.
Then I get distracted by my own boobs and start fondling them.
      *cough*

      False awakening
I get up, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth etc.
After getting dressed I get into my car, drive to university, and get stuck in a traffic jam on my way there for maybe half an hour...
I end up at university and hold a lecture for about an hour until I notice that something is off.
I wonder if I might be dreaming and think back and am easily capable of retracing my steps.
      Nope, must be awake.
Then I notice Faye is sitting in my classroom.

I say "You've got to be fucking kidding me", realizing that I just had an insanely long FA.
Some students laugh at me. I'm pissed, and I ask Faye if I just got trolled by my own subconscious.

non dream - lucid - non lucid

I've had a lot of dream fragments related to this lately.
I dream them completely out of order, but they clearly belong together.
They're all non-lucid and play a few years in the future.
This is a try to connect them and fit them into chronological order, now that I feel I have enough fragments for everything to make sense.

      • Working for NASA
I own a company specializing in all kinds of modern computer toys.
We mostly develop futuristic user interface hardware, but recently we've gotten into the development of air plane cockpits.
Most companies want more modern hardware than what is currently used.
It's not like our stuff is insanely more user friendly, but it looks much more futuristic and it isn't really more expensive than the traditional stuff.

NASA hired us to design all user interface devices on a new experimental spacecraft.
It's supposed to achieve high speeds using a small nuclear reactor powering experimental Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
This would allow traveling to close planets such as Mars in much more reasonable time frames.
We're supposed to design everything in the cockpit, and all other interfaces all over the ship.
We're also in charge of creating a simulator where pilots can train flying the spacecraft and to figure out what the most user friendly control to operate this thing are.

NASA doesn't agree with some of my ideas. They prefer designs where the pilot has little control over the spacecraft for some reason.
I don't understand this and most of my designs feature direct user input, such as a joystick to freely maneuver the ship.

Although I'm not working for NASA directly, I still get to play with their stuff and I spend many hours in the simulator I'm designing.
After some time we get the bad news.
The government has canceled all funding for NASA, so the project is scrapped.
This doesn't directly affect us since we get paid on a monthly basis, not on project success.
I feel very sad though, I never understood why most people lost interest in space exploration after the first few Apollo missions, and now
        they're scrapping the whole program.

        ______
      • Back to Europe
I get a very interesting phone call from a company in Europe.
They specialize in the development of nuclear fusion.
The technology is solid, and produces clean renewable energy at an extremely efficient rate.
However for some reason there exists nearly zero funding for this.
I'm not sure if this is because it gets grouped in the "nuclear energy" category by the media and politics, which is stupid,
or if there is some sort of conspiracy going on.
The energy is clean, and the reaction doesn't produce hazardous radiation or any other dangerous by-product.

Anyways, they want us to design the whole reactor controls and everything.
They want a super futuristic look to help them finally convince the media that this is indeed the future of energy generation.
This comes in handy because I was planning to move the company to Europe all along.
The US military is pressuring me to work on fighter jets and similar things all the time, and it makes me very uncomfortable.

After relocating to Switzerland I am working with said company on their reactor.
They finally got the permission to build it. I also work on a supersonic airplane project.
I enjoy working with everyone, they are not as secretive as the guys in America.
They like explaining how all their stuff works and I get an immense insight into fusion reactions and supersonic airplane designs.

        ______
      • Taking things into my own hands
The fusion reactor is a huge success. Some people are still skeptic, but most governments are buying the green and renewable energy.
I make a ridiculous amount of money on this project and also quite a bit on the supersonic airplane.
I talk to the guys responsible for the airplane a lot because they also work for the ESA.
I ask them how reasonable it would be to put a small fusion reactor onto a spaceship to power Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
They confirm that it would be much more reasonable than a nuclear reactor, and would save an insane amount of weight because you don't need
the very heavy contamination to protect the crew from radiation.

I tell him jokingly that I worked for NASA before and still have all the computer, simulator and user interface designs, we should get some sort of
        new project going.
A few days later he comes into my office and acts quite secretive.
He asks me if I was serious about those designs.
I tell him we never officially sold them to NASA, so I still own all of them.
He says I absolutely need to come to some sort of ESA meeting.

I have to sign the biggest NDA I have seen in my entire life to enter the ESA meeting.
It's over 200 pages long, I jokingly say that signing this feels like selling my soul.
In the meeting I learn that the ESA isn't messing about.
They have developed a technology that allows traveling faster than light, or rather work around the problems associated with approaching the speed of light.
It's very technical and I don't understand most of it.
It involves forming a bubble around the ship, it reminds me of Star Trek.

Finally most people besides some company heads and ESA directors leave.
I am requested to stay in the room.
More technology is presented, and it is clear that the presentation is going towards a space ship project.
It all sounds oddly reasonable, even though most involved technologies are somewhat experimental.

The final problem that is mentioned is financing, ESA does not receive enough of it for a project of this magnitude.
They want to do some small tests with drones followed by a manned mission into another solar system, using the FTL drive.
I say that given my recent acquirements I'd be willing to develop all computer systems for free and even invest some money into the mission.
A few more company heads follow this movement...

        ______
      • FTL
I am now working full time at a special facility used for this mission alone.
        It is absolutely huge.
We launch the first FTL testing drone into space.
I am sitting in mission control overlooking most of the technical systems.
The drone is ready to test the FTL system.
Everyone in mission control is extremely excited as we wait for the FTL countdown to run out.
As the drone accelerates, our information becomes more and more delayed as it approaches the speed of light.
        All connections are quickly lost.
But this was to be expected, we don't have technology to transmit information faster than light.
The drone is supposed to fly ~1 light day within a few minutes, then stop and transmit a signal.
If we have a position signal tomorrow we know it worked.

        ______
      • Hyperdrive
We've tested 3 drones now, each one with a better FTL system. The 3rd one worked absolutely flawlessly.
The engineers have dubbed the system "Warp Drive".
I have adopted this into the user interface for the spacecraft.
The director is complaining about it, he says Warp Drive would be very appropriate due to the connection to Star Trek.
I suggest calling it Hyperdrive instead. He seems pleased with that.

        ______
      • Destiny
All details of the project are clear now, and the ship is being built inside our facility.
It uses a small but very powerful fusion reactor to power a new form of Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
It can generate an artificial gravity field, making life on board much easier, and enabling us to cancel out the extreme acceleration forces of the engine.
Without this the passengers would be crushed by the g-forces during acceleration.
It is also capable of atmospheric flight. It will fly into space by itself.
This is actually necessary because it is way too big and heavy for a payload delivery system.
It is also very solid, with a thick hull. This ship is not build around value for money.
It looks very different than anything else we've send into space so far, compared to it everything looks extremely fragile.
ESA plans a crew of 8 people for this mission.

We're discussing the name of the ship.
Someone suggests calling it "Ikarus", something about challenging destiny.
I ask why not call it "Destiny" then? "Ikarus" has a bit of a negative vibe.

        ______
      • Pilot
I am playing around in the simulator.
I often go into the simulator claiming to test stuff, but I'm actually picturing myself being a pilot on the mission.
I bet everyone knows about it, but I don't care, it's way too much fun. I'm also quite good at it.

The director intercepts me as I leave the simulator. He says we need to talk.
We talk about how I know every detail about the ship, how I designed most of it.
Then he says I have by far the best simulator scores, which surprises me a bit.
        He suddenly acts extremely serious.

He offers me the position of captain on the mission, he wants me to fly the Destiny.
My mind is blown, I immediately reply with "Yes!"
He asks me if I'm sure, if I don't need to consider the risks.
I tell him that this is absolutely not necessary, my decision is final and there isn't a doubt on my mind.

        ______
      • Trouble
        The Destiny is nearing completion.
All vital systems are installed, it's basically just missing the outer hull.
But there is trouble. Some governments are voicing concern.
The media throws some unreasonable accusations at us, that going faster than light might end the universe and whatnot.
Telling them that we've already done it 3 times and the universe still exists does not calm them.
I'm on some TV show defending against other random accusations, explaining why they make so sense.

        ______
      • The Signal
The director informs me that they have received a signal a few years ago, from an unknown source flying by earth.
He shows me the data... it doesn't make any sense.
According to the positioning of the source of the data it must have moved faster than light.
It was broadcasting a specific position nonstop.
The director tells me that it is assumed the signal was of alien origin.
I finally understand why some governments are concerned with the mission, we are going to the location broadcasted by this most likely alien object.

        ______
      • Lying
Destiny is ready, so is the crew. The official launch is in 2 months, however we are actually going to launch in 2 days.
I understand how governments are afraid of a mission that could potentially make contact with another species, but
I really want to do this, and so does everyone else on the project.
By faking a late launch date, and claiming that the construction of the Destiny isn't finished yet, we try to avoid the inevitable shutdown by the governments.

        ______
      • Launch
Launching the Destiny is incredibly easy.
You just open the hangars of the construction facility and fly it out to space.
This is why we were able to keep the launch date a secret until now.
We haven't received any official "no-go" from any government, so technically launching isn't entirely illegal.
We are going to get into trouble though, that much is clear.

I'm sitting in the Destiny with my crew.
I am the main Pilot, Nicole is my Co-Pilot. She had very good simulator scores and is a trained astronaut.
She's never been to space though.
There is an engineer on the crew to maintain the thrusters.
The 5 remaining people are 4 scientists and a language/culture specialist.

The hangar doors are open, everyone pointing a camera at the facility can now see that the construction is finished.
We are fully fueled, ready to go, just waiting for the signal from mission command.
The hangar is right at the end of a very long runway, so we can just roll out and launch.

I'm very nervous when I get the signal to launch. Thankfully the process is entirely automated.
We're slowly rolling out, after about 100m the MPDT engage.
They are absolutely brutal, you can really feel how much power those things have even though they're operating below 0.1% of their capacity right now.
They need to be though, the Destiny weights over 400 tons with fuel.
I am really nervous as the Destiny finally takes off. It's not like I'm worried that something would go wrong, it's just the excitement.
The ship climbs at a progressively faster rate and the thrusters become stronger and stronger.

The beauty of starting to see the stars during the middle of the day calms me down though.
I verify if everything is in order. Everything is perfect.
We enter orbit and bring the ship into the correct position for the acceleration maneuver for FTL.

        ______
      • Decision
We're in orbit and in position.
We have a video conversation open with mission control.
They have just been told that we have to cancel the launch.
We are ordered to come back down immediately. He obviously isn't pleased to announce this.
Some official government type figure is with him demanding to comply immediately.
They have voted a few minutes ago that the project is too dangerous... right...
The mission director tells me to "try to cancel the acceleration maneuver".

It is very clear what he's doing. The acceleration maneuver hasn't begun yet.
He gives us the opportunity to say we cannot cancel it and continue on with the mission.
I block communications and ask the rest of the crew if we should just go for it.
        Everyone agrees that we should.

I enable the coms and tell the director that I am terribly sorry, but it is too late to cancel the acceleration sequence.
The gov. guy gets really angry and demands that mission control remotely cancels the sequence.
The director explains that this is impossible.
Due to the nature of the mission, remote control would make no sense because we're out of reach most of the time anyways.
The gov. guy is furious but accepts that he can't do anything.

I activate the acceleration sequence. It is quite dramatic.
Even though the artificial gravity field compensates most of the vibrations and the acceleration forces, it still feels extreme.
We're being shaken violently and even though the ship indicates we are experiencing 3g of acceleration, it feels like much more, but it doesn't hurt the way more g's would.
The acceleration maneuver lasts multiple hours. It is extremely tiring feeling such forces for so long.
Finally, as we reach our wanted speed, the engines quiet down and the vibrations stop.
We are now cruising about at many times the speed of light; the ship feels perfectly stable.
Without looking outside you wouldn't be able to tell that we are racing at a mind-boggling speed.
The outside looks very beautiful. The vision is distorted but very colorful.
You just hear the gentle humming of the fusion reactor and the MPDT's working at very low power.
We will arrive at our destination within approximately 2 weeks.
Everyone is happy that everything worked out so far, and that we managed to actually pull it off.

        ______

I have had multiple dreams about the next 2 weeks.
I'm either piloting the ship, which is basically just staring at instruments or doing some maintenance work on some ship components.
So far everything is working fine, a few hiccups in diagnostics but that's about it.
Nicole and I take shifts staring at instruments, even though if something goes wrong navigation wise, there's nothing we can do.
You can't exactly make a course correction going many times the speed of light.
I'm trying not to think about what would happen if the hyperdrive fails. The truth is no one knows, but it most likely wouldn't end well.
We're all wondering what waits for us at the rendezvous point, or if there is anything at all.
I think I'm the only one fully expecting something or someone to wait for us at the rendezvous point.
I'm convinced that signal a few years ago was form an alien probe designed to catch the attention of species capable of FTL travel.

I'm usually just sitting in my seat staring at what seems to be stars rushing by, wondering what's going to happen next.
I occasionally glimpse at the instruments. They always display that everything is alright and that we're on the correct course.
It's oddly boring, but the excitement of what waits for us keeps me entertained.
I sometimes wonder what's currently happening back home.
