    1. Pilot

      by , 03-13-2016 at 02:19 AM
I was viewing the dream from the 3rd person, like a movie. A fleet of space cruisers was leaving to regroup with more ships, because they realized they would need more ships for their mission. So they get back to a planet (I think Earth) and a giant ship opens up the bottom of it's hull and the three ships dock inside it. Somehow, now the ships are small and are inside of the hull of a modern fighter jet. I forgot why, but the pilot takes a jar of tiny flying insects and lets them loose inside of his plane where the other ships are still docked, then closed the hull back up.

The dream changes to 1st person now and I'm looking at the pilot and another Air Force Officer standing next to me. The pilot was standing in the cockpit of his jet when we look over into the distance and see a nuclear explosion go off about 3-5 miles away. The sky becomes cloudy and turns black and red. I can see the fiery mushroom cloud and the shockwave approaching from the distance. The wind started to pick up and the officer standing next to me died. Then the shockwave reached us and the pilot looked at me and screamed in pain as his skin was peeled off from his head, then his muscles, and then his blood until he was just a skeleton in a pilot's outfit. My teeth felt loose and weird, so I hunched over. Then two of my teeth feel out, one of them had a filling.

      And then I woke up.

      06/27/15 - Medical Rescue

Note: I finally managed to remember a dream again, so I can add something to my dream journal. It's not one of my cool video game
dreams, but I'm glad to get a start.

I am at St. Mary's Hospital, just turning into the parking lot in my red Dodge Neon. I am ready to start my new job as a help desk operator and an IT service person. I park and head into the main hospital building as the last of the sun disappears below the western horizon. My new job is a night shift position, so I am just getting to work when everyone else is heading home.

I know exactly how to get to the data center because I have worked here before. I take an elevator that went to the 4th floor, but I need the 3rd floor. Since the elevator had skipped my floor, I take the stairs to the 3rd floor. The data center is right where I expected. I go into the room where I expect to find the computer operators stations. It turns out it has been moved. This room just has the leftovers of an office party. My eyes are drawn to some cupcakes. A man notices and says I should help myself. I thank him and help myself to two.

I unwrap one of the cupcakes and start eating it as I walk down the hall looking for the operator room for the data center. I soon find it.
I'm not happy to find a coworker from the first time I worked here is still here. Her name is Susie, and she clearly hasn't forgotten me. She gives me a dirty look and says to get to answer the phones. I am mad. I tell her I don't have computer access yet, so I couldn't
even reset a user's password. Susie seems annoyed but says nothing.

A man comes in, and I recognize the boss from when I worked here before. His name is Brian. If he remembers me he doesn't show it. He says while my computer account is being setup I can get started with my training with the helicopter. I do a double take. Helicopter?
When I question that, Brian says yes. I must be trained to fly their medevac helicopter. He says it is the responsibility of the night operator to fly the medevac helicopter in case of emergency.

Surprised, I follow Brian to the roof to find a helicopter there. Apparently there isn't any real training, Brian says I should fly the helicopter to St. Joseph's hospital then back, the manager would confirm it. I wonder what I can do with no instruction. I get into the helicopter and look at the controls. I mess with a couple switches and the helicopter starts. I take off and fly erratically for a bit before I get control of the helicopter. I wonder how I'm going to find St. Joseph's from the sky. I manage to do it and I come in for a rough landing. I have to wait while my visit is confirmed. I eat my second cupcake while I wait. Finally I am told to head back. I look forward to showing Brian I was successful in spite of getting no instruction. I lift off much better than the first time. I fly over the city, looking at the lights I am heading for St. Mary's Hospital when I wake up.

      Friday 8/23/13

Last night bed 11:15pm - 8:30am I had a drink of water before bed and when I woke up at 3:13

      DR 3:13am

I'm walking with a group of people on a low berm, that was built long time ago to protect a town and fields from overflowing river. It's coverd in short grass. There is a field of grass on my left, and empty field on my right. There is also a large house nestled between some trees and some other greenery.

I hear a loud thunder and red lightning stuck very close to us. We all scatter. I run down the berm, but come back up and stick my head out to see where the lightning struck. I hear a voice saying, that lightning can be yellow, orange or almost red.

I see smoke coming out of the house area. We all rush there. I see fire had started on the roof. I tell my friend to go to the right and start putting out the fire from there. I walk to the left, into the garden, through a metal fence with unlocked door. I grab one of the long garden hoses and turn the water on. The stream is wery powerful and it reaches long distance to the fire. I start dousing the fire and have some success.

Now I'm inside. I see more small fires starting and I hear the sound of a larger fire crackling and red colors reflected on the walls from fires in other rooms.

I grab a very long hose and again start spraying water. I'm able to extinguish few of the isolated fires. I move to a very large walkway, that looks like a indoor patio. I'm draging my hose and yell at someone to put the water on. The pressure is so strong, it starts pushing me around a bit and I'm worried to get knocked off the patio, because railing is not reliable. I already leaned on the railing once and it seemed like it's only put there, not attached to anything. I noticed same thing happened to another person on another patio. The railing is made our of white carved columns. I grab it and lay it down, so others don't make a mistake of leaning on it.

So thet other person adjusts the water pressure and now it's perfect and I can extinguish some more fires.

      DR 8:30am

I'm sitting in a space shuttle with a few others. Inside looks like a cross between Star Trek shuttle and a wide bus. It's clear that it's a space vehicle. I'm in a right forward seet and when our sqadron leader sits there, I move to the left forward seat. Behind us are a few rows of seats.

I see on a monitor something is not right, I look to the rear window and there is another shuttle fireing at us with two guns. Shots are like short bluish lines.

We are still in the shuttle, but now we are docked at the space station, or larger ship. Same cabin, but instead of seats we have beds. Some unused beds are at the back wall and untill we get more people, I suggest we stack them up to make more space in the cabin. Right now we can't walk to the back, beds are so tight next to each other. So someone rearanges our beds, but not the way I wanted it's even more tight now. But all is good, we are all in great spirits, as you would expect a new pilot, who doesn't know what he gotten himself into.

The front of the cabin resembles more of a classroom. There is a desk for our leader. She is a grown woman and will be spending most of the time in our cabin/squad room.

We all sit on our beds and are talking. Someone has a question and I say that female pilots are better than male.

We are watching some phenomenon now on blue skies and taking bets?

Suddently we are under attack. Everybody grabs his futuristic hand gun. I have one too, but for some reason left it someplace. I'm so mad that finaly I have a gun in a dream, and that gun actually shoots and I leave it behind. So I rush through corridors to a place I think I left it. As I run through some door, I bump into 2 guys in futuristic space suits. They are 2 new members of our squad. I tell them to rush and help others fight. I get to another cabin, look through drawers and find my pistol. Yesss.

Now we are outside, in space suits. Looks like a surface of either artifical space body, or station, or even our ship. But it's large and resembles moon surface with lots of metalic elements. Skies are black, since we are in space. We are observing an aerial fight between space ships. I aim my weapon that looks like a small batan and it fires automatically. I watch the projectiles that look like fist size blue balls of energy chase after enemy fighter jets. Someone tells me, or I realize, that if I keep my weapon aimed at the enemy, it will lock on target and fire by itself, this time it guarantees a hit. So I start doing that. Some large enemy ship is decloaking and taking aim at us.

As I was falling asleep for an afternoon nap, I remembered another fragment from the night:
      DR:
I'm suppose to be taking antibiotics and my mom askes me if I am. That's when I realize I started taking them 2-3 days ago, when I sitll had about a week to go.

      NAP DR:
We are in a hotel restaurant. They offer 3 local meals for just $1 each. We decide to try them all later.

      DR:
I hear a person telling someone about taking a gift or money for good work, and she is not telling it to me.

      Another EDIT:

I'm just sitting, watching TV when I ask myself "what happened to my lollipop. I just remembered, I took a yellow small lollipop from a bowl of lollipops.

EDIT: it's hot, ocean is on the left and make a decision to walk in the water to cool off.

    4. Number Games and Ninja

      by , 01-12-2013 at 05:49 AM
Had a nice sense of freedom in this one, which left me feeling liberated enough to do Basic Task of the Month. This one was light and fun the entire way through, and even my flight malfunctions didn't get me too upset.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #55: Number Games and Ninja

Wife and I are seated on the floor with a dozen or so small children. The kids are probably 5 or 6 years old, but for some reason we're all taking a Japanese class together. We're working on a craft project while some unseen teacher barks simple instructions which Wife and all of the little kids easily follow. Not me, though. I'm fumbling around trying to glue something onto a paper plate and looking like quite the idiot.

The kids titter at my ineptitude. Wife shoots me a look of disbelief. The unseen teacher bellows more instructions and again I'm the only one who's not getting it. It's all really embarrassing and I think, "Well, I'd better hope this is all a dream. Because otherwise, this is humiliating." I use the nose pinch RC
      and become lucid.

Wife seems to have vanished, so I walk out of the room while the class continues to work. I seem to be in some kind of apartment, and I turn down a short hallway into a semi-dark, rather sparse bedroom. My friend "Leroy" is wandering around in here and I say, "Hey, [Leroy]! It's another lucid dream!" He ignores me, though, and seems to be looking for something.

A large window overlooks a nighttime city scene. It looks like we're about 10 stories up. I phase through the glass and step out onto a ledge, preparing to fly. I leap away from the building, ready to take to the sky... and give a little yelp as I plummet to the street below. I land pretty softly, narrowly missing a parked car. I relax my mind for a moment and then take to the air again.

I'm flying over a huge, grassy field that I think is supposed to be this city's equivalent of Central Park. The grass is short and extremely well-manicured. Golf course grass. Even though it's night, the park itself is strangely well-lit, and a few DCs are wandering through it. I see a couple of fancy archways and a miniature replica of the Arc de Triomphe.

Most interestingly of all, I see a ninja crouched behind a boulder, hiding in the shadows. Perhaps another forty feet away, there's an Imperial Stormtrooper and a man dressed like a World War I-era pilot searching carefully around the park, presumably looking for the ninja.

I remember the Task of the Month -- have a DC guess a number between 1 and 100. I swoop down to where the ninja is hiding and say, "Hey! I'm thinking of a number from 1 to 100. Guess what it is." The ninja seems horrified to see me. He presses his palms to the sides of his head, in disbelief that I would so bumblingly blow his cover. He points excitedly behind me at the Stormtrooper and the pilot. Guess they really are looking for him. "Oh, I see!" I tell him. "Sorry about that. Let me ask them instead."

I'm worried that the Stormtrooper will sound too garbled, so I address the World War I-era pilot. "Hey! I'm thinking of a number from 1 to 100. What is it?"

He thinks for a moment. "22?"

It occurs to me that I didn't actually think of a number from 1 to 100. I feel like a bit of a dummy. Okay, 38. 38 38 38. "Hey, man, sorry about that. I forgot to think of a number before I asked. Will you guess again?"

He pauses. Then a slightly sheepish guess of "Uh... 23?"

"No, but that's okay. Thanks!" The pilot and the Stormtrooper move toward the boulder, but I see that the ninja is long gone. The Stormtrooper growls something angry and garbled and I think how glad I am that I didn't try to play the guessing game with him.

I wander the park a bit more. The sun has apparently started to rise because it looks like early morning now. The number of DCs has picked up. I know that there's something I should be doing in New York, but I can't remember the task.
(Task I was trying to think of: Transform into King Kong, climb the Empire State Building, and battle the military.) I think it's Task of the Year, but I incorrectly believe that there's something I should be doing in Central Park. I turn a corner past a food vendor, and rub my hands together. It doesn't feel as real as I'd expect. Things feel like they're slipping and I wake up.

    5. Open Concept Aircraft

by , 11-17-2011 at 10:02 AM (Visions in the Dark)
I'm on a large commercial passenger plane dressed as a stewardess but sitting in one of the seats like a passenger. The plane has no walls between the cockpit or the bathroom and everyone can see everyone doing everything. Instead of a second officer beside the pilot, that seat is the toilet; you have to go and sit beside the pilot at the front of the plane to relieve yourself and all of the passengers can see you because there are no walls.

The plane is high in the air over an ocean. I am sitting in my seat drinking champagne from a crystal stemware. I drink a lot and eventually have to go to the bathroom. No one else on the plane has tried because they are too embarassed and are trying to hold it. I know I can't wait that long and go up to the toilet and relieve myself. I am not filled with anxiety or embarassment like I would in a similar situation in waking life.

The pilot strikes up a conversation with me and orders me more champangne. The toilet seats turns into a regular pilots seat and a curtain appears and divides the passenger area and pilots area. The pilot says he is bored and for a while our conversation goes on and I cannot remember what was said, but at the end of the dream I kneeling beside the pilot's chair fellating the pilot.
    6. TIE Fighter and Hey Arnold!

      Dream Fragment

I was a TIE Pilot I was flying. I think I was in battle.

      Dream

I was in the body of Hey Arnold it was like I Quantam Leaped. Something bad was going on and I waved to some guys whn I left a bank. Then a police officer said "Hey, kid!. Don't wave to them, there bad people!" He had some kind of speech impediment.

I then went home and it was different instead of a board house it was an average house. I went to the kitchen and talked to Grandpa (Arnold's Granpa not mine) He was still crazy and spoke in his usual voice.

      Side Note

During the Hey Arnold dream I was partially lucid.

It took me like 4 hours to get to sleep.
Before I got to sleep I was in a park and my friend threw a ball at me and it woke me up.

I was sitting on an airplane with my girlfriend Dakota to my right, and a mother and child to my left who were watching T.V. together.

I was on my iPhone registering for this website about condoms, when the "fasten seatbelt" sign came on.
The pilot announced that we had to put on our seatbelts and that we couldn't watch T.V. at the moment so the mom told her son to say goodbye to the man on T.V. and he did.

Suddenly, we sky-rocketed downwards, watching the altitude meter race downwards.
It wasn't very scary, somehow I knew we were going to be fine right before we hit the ground.
It felt as if I had done this before.

As we were falling, Dakota told me she wished she had an iPhone like mine to give her hope, so I gave mine to her.
Right before we hit the ground, the captain pulled upwards and we rolled towards an enormous tree.

Everything was suddenly in third person and the plane was tiny, and very far away.
It jumped over tree roots and landed in a field.
Suddenly, a gigantic mutated chicken came out and started pecking at the plane.
It was about 5 times the size of the plane.. And extremely ugly.
A few mutated crabs were crawling around the plane as well.

non dream - lucid - non lucid

I've had a lot of dream fragments related to this lately.
I dream them completely out of order, but they clearly belong together.
They're all non-lucid and play a few years in the future.
This is a try to connect them and fit them into chronological order, now that I feel I have enough fragments for everything to make sense.

      • Working for NASA
I own a company specializing in all kinds of modern computer toys.
We mostly develop futuristic user interface hardware, but recently we've gotten into the development of air plane cockpits.
Most companies want more modern hardware than what is currently used.
It's not like our stuff is insanely more user friendly, but it looks much more futuristic and it isn't really more expensive than the traditional stuff.

NASA hired us to design all user interface devices on a new experimental spacecraft.
It's supposed to achieve high speeds using a small nuclear reactor powering experimental Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
This would allow traveling to close planets such as Mars in much more reasonable time frames.
We're supposed to design everything in the cockpit, and all other interfaces all over the ship.
We're also in charge of creating a simulator where pilots can train flying the spacecraft and to figure out what the most user friendly control to operate this thing are.

NASA doesn't agree with some of my ideas. They prefer designs where the pilot has little control over the spacecraft for some reason.
I don't understand this and most of my designs feature direct user input, such as a joystick to freely maneuver the ship.

Although I'm not working for NASA directly, I still get to play with their stuff and I spend many hours in the simulator I'm designing.
After some time we get the bad news.
The government has canceled all funding for NASA, so the project is scrapped.
This doesn't directly affect us since we get paid on a monthly basis, not on project success.
I feel very sad though, I never understood why most people lost interest in space exploration after the first few Apollo missions, and now
        they're scrapping the whole program.

        ______
      • Back to Europe
I get a very interesting phone call from a company in Europe.
They specialize in the development of nuclear fusion.
The technology is solid, and produces clean renewable energy at an extremely efficient rate.
However for some reason there exists nearly zero funding for this.
I'm not sure if this is because it gets grouped in the "nuclear energy" category by the media and politics, which is stupid,
or if there is some sort of conspiracy going on.
The energy is clean, and the reaction doesn't produce hazardous radiation or any other dangerous by-product.

Anyways, they want us to design the whole reactor controls and everything.
They want a super futuristic look to help them finally convince the media that this is indeed the future of energy generation.
This comes in handy because I was planning to move the company to Europe all along.
The US military is pressuring me to work on fighter jets and similar things all the time, and it makes me very uncomfortable.

After relocating to Switzerland I am working with said company on their reactor.
They finally got the permission to build it. I also work on a supersonic airplane project.
I enjoy working with everyone, they are not as secretive as the guys in America.
They like explaining how all their stuff works and I get an immense insight into fusion reactions and supersonic airplane designs.

        ______
      • Taking things into my own hands
The fusion reactor is a huge success. Some people are still skeptic, but most governments are buying the green and renewable energy.
I make a ridiculous amount of money on this project and also quite a bit on the supersonic airplane.
I talk to the guys responsible for the airplane a lot because they also work for the ESA.
I ask them how reasonable it would be to put a small fusion reactor onto a spaceship to power Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
They confirm that it would be much more reasonable than a nuclear reactor, and would save an insane amount of weight because you don't need
the very heavy contamination to protect the crew from radiation.

I tell him jokingly that I worked for NASA before and still have all the computer, simulator and user interface designs, we should get some sort of
        new project going.
A few days later he comes into my office and acts quite secretive.
He asks me if I was serious about those designs.
I tell him we never officially sold them to NASA, so I still own all of them.
He says I absolutely need to come to some sort of ESA meeting.

I have to sign the biggest NDA I have seen in my entire life to enter the ESA meeting.
It's over 200 pages long, I jokingly say that signing this feels like selling my soul.
In the meeting I learn that the ESA isn't messing about.
They have developed a technology that allows traveling faster than light, or rather work around the problems associated with approaching the speed of light.
It's very technical and I don't understand most of it.
It involves forming a bubble around the ship, it reminds me of Star Trek.

Finally most people besides some company heads and ESA directors leave.
I am requested to stay in the room.
More technology is presented, and it is clear that the presentation is going towards a space ship project.
It all sounds oddly reasonable, even though most involved technologies are somewhat experimental.

The final problem that is mentioned is financing, ESA does not receive enough of it for a project of this magnitude.
They want to do some small tests with drones followed by a manned mission into another solar system, using the FTL drive.
I say that given my recent acquirements I'd be willing to develop all computer systems for free and even invest some money into the mission.
A few more company heads follow this movement...

        ______
      • FTL
I am now working full time at a special facility used for this mission alone.
        It is absolutely huge.
We launch the first FTL testing drone into space.
I am sitting in mission control overlooking most of the technical systems.
The drone is ready to test the FTL system.
Everyone in mission control is extremely excited as we wait for the FTL countdown to run out.
As the drone accelerates, our information becomes more and more delayed as it approaches the speed of light.
        All connections are quickly lost.
But this was to be expected, we don't have technology to transmit information faster than light.
The drone is supposed to fly ~1 light day within a few minutes, then stop and transmit a signal.
If we have a position signal tomorrow we know it worked.

        ______
      • Hyperdrive
We've tested 3 drones now, each one with a better FTL system. The 3rd one worked absolutely flawlessly.
The engineers have dubbed the system "Warp Drive".
I have adopted this into the user interface for the spacecraft.
The director is complaining about it, he says Warp Drive would be very appropriate due to the connection to Star Trek.
I suggest calling it Hyperdrive instead. He seems pleased with that.

        ______
      • Destiny
All details of the project are clear now, and the ship is being built inside our facility.
It uses a small but very powerful fusion reactor to power a new form of Magnetoplasmadynamic thrusters.
It can generate an artificial gravity field, making life on board much easier, and enabling us to cancel out the extreme acceleration forces of the engine.
Without this the passengers would be crushed by the g-forces during acceleration.
It is also capable of atmospheric flight. It will fly into space by itself.
This is actually necessary because it is way too big and heavy for a payload delivery system.
It is also very solid, with a thick hull. This ship is not build around value for money.
It looks very different than anything else we've send into space so far, compared to it everything looks extremely fragile.
ESA plans a crew of 8 people for this mission.

We're discussing the name of the ship.
Someone suggests calling it "Ikarus", something about challenging destiny.
I ask why not call it "Destiny" then? "Ikarus" has a bit of a negative vibe.

        ______
      • Pilot
I am playing around in the simulator.
I often go into the simulator claiming to test stuff, but I'm actually picturing myself being a pilot on the mission.
I bet everyone knows about it, but I don't care, it's way too much fun. I'm also quite good at it.

The director intercepts me as I leave the simulator. He says we need to talk.
We talk about how I know every detail about the ship, how I designed most of it.
Then he says I have by far the best simulator scores, which surprises me a bit.
        He suddenly acts extremely serious.

He offers me the position of captain on the mission, he wants me to fly the Destiny.
My mind is blown, I immediately reply with "Yes!"
He asks me if I'm sure, if I don't need to consider the risks.
I tell him that this is absolutely not necessary, my decision is final and there isn't a doubt on my mind.

        ______
      • Trouble
        The Destiny is nearing completion.
All vital systems are installed, it's basically just missing the outer hull.
But there is trouble. Some governments are voicing concern.
The media throws some unreasonable accusations at us, that going faster than light might end the universe and whatnot.
Telling them that we've already done it 3 times and the universe still exists does not calm them.
I'm on some TV show defending against other random accusations, explaining why they make so sense.

        ______
      • The Signal
The director informs me that they have received a signal a few years ago, from an unknown source flying by earth.
He shows me the data... it doesn't make any sense.
According to the positioning of the source of the data it must have moved faster than light.
It was broadcasting a specific position nonstop.
The director tells me that it is assumed the signal was of alien origin.
I finally understand why some governments are concerned with the mission, we are going to the location broadcasted by this most likely alien object.

        ______
      • Lying
Destiny is ready, so is the crew. The official launch is in 2 months, however we are actually going to launch in 2 days.
I understand how governments are afraid of a mission that could potentially make contact with another species, but
I really want to do this, and so does everyone else on the project.
By faking a late launch date, and claiming that the construction of the Destiny isn't finished yet, we try to avoid the inevitable shutdown by the governments.

        ______
      • Launch
Launching the Destiny is incredibly easy.
You just open the hangars of the construction facility and fly it out to space.
This is why we were able to keep the launch date a secret until now.
We haven't received any official "no-go" from any government, so technically launching isn't entirely illegal.
We are going to get into trouble though, that much is clear.

I'm sitting in the Destiny with my crew.
I am the main Pilot, Nicole is my Co-Pilot. She had very good simulator scores and is a trained astronaut.
She's never been to space though.
There is an engineer on the crew to maintain the thrusters.
The 5 remaining people are 4 scientists and a language/culture specialist.

The hangar doors are open, everyone pointing a camera at the facility can now see that the construction is finished.
We are fully fueled, ready to go, just waiting for the signal from mission command.
The hangar is right at the end of a very long runway, so we can just roll out and launch.

I'm very nervous when I get the signal to launch. Thankfully the process is entirely automated.
We're slowly rolling out, after about 100m the MPDT engage.
They are absolutely brutal, you can really feel how much power those things have even though they're operating below 0.1% of their capacity right now.
They need to be though, the Destiny weights over 400 tons with fuel.
I am really nervous as the Destiny finally takes off. It's not like I'm worried that something would go wrong, it's just the excitement.
The ship climbs at a progressively faster rate and the thrusters become stronger and stronger.

The beauty of starting to see the stars during the middle of the day calms me down though.
I verify if everything is in order. Everything is perfect.
We enter orbit and bring the ship into the correct position for the acceleration maneuver for FTL.

        ______
      • Decision
We're in orbit and in position.
We have a video conversation open with mission control.
They have just been told that we have to cancel the launch.
We are ordered to come back down immediately. He obviously isn't pleased to announce this.
Some official government type figure is with him demanding to comply immediately.
They have voted a few minutes ago that the project is too dangerous... right...
The mission director tells me to "try to cancel the acceleration maneuver".

It is very clear what he's doing. The acceleration maneuver hasn't begun yet.
He gives us the opportunity to say we cannot cancel it and continue on with the mission.
I block communications and ask the rest of the crew if we should just go for it.
        Everyone agrees that we should.

I enable the coms and tell the director that I am terribly sorry, but it is too late to cancel the acceleration sequence.
The gov. guy gets really angry and demands that mission control remotely cancels the sequence.
The director explains that this is impossible.
Due to the nature of the mission, remote control would make no sense because we're out of reach most of the time anyways.
The gov. guy is furious but accepts that he can't do anything.

I activate the acceleration sequence. It is quite dramatic.
Even though the artificial gravity field compensates most of the vibrations and the acceleration forces, it still feels extreme.
We're being shaken violently and even though the ship indicates we are experiencing 3g of acceleration, it feels like much more, but it doesn't hurt the way more g's would.
The acceleration maneuver lasts multiple hours. It is extremely tiring feeling such forces for so long.
Finally, as we reach our wanted speed, the engines quiet down and the vibrations stop.
We are now cruising about at many times the speed of light; the ship feels perfectly stable.
Without looking outside you wouldn't be able to tell that we are racing at a mind-boggling speed.
The outside looks very beautiful. The vision is distorted but very colorful.
You just hear the gentle humming of the fusion reactor and the MPDT's working at very low power.
We will arrive at our destination within approximately 2 weeks.
Everyone is happy that everything worked out so far, and that we managed to actually pull it off.

        ______
      • Travel
I have had multiple dreams about the next 2 weeks.
I'm either piloting the ship, which is basically just staring at instruments or doing some maintenance work on some ship components.
So far everything is working fine, a few hiccups in diagnostics but that's about it.
Nicole and I take shifts staring at instruments, even though if something goes wrong navigation wise, there's nothing we can do.
You can't exactly make a course correction going many times the speed of light.
I'm trying not to think about what would happen if the hyperdrive fails. The truth is no one knows, but it most likely wouldn't end well.
We're all wondering what waits for us at the rendezvous point, or if there is anything at all.
I think I'm the only one fully expecting something or someone to wait for us at the rendezvous point.
I'm convinced that signal a few years ago was form an alien probe designed to catch the attention of species capable of FTL travel.

I'm usually just sitting in my seat staring at what seems to be stars rushing by, wondering what's going to happen next.
I occasionally glimpse at the instruments. They always display that everything is alright and that we're on the correct course.
It's oddly boring, but the excitement of what waits for us keeps me entertained.
I sometimes wonder what's currently happening back home.

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING PRECOG

      Crazy co-pilot
On a plane to (I think) London. Co-pilot is describing the weather at destination. He says that it is a bit rainy but... “Oh, wait” (silence)... “actually it is a bit nasty, but still we can probably make it... Oh... Wait...(silence)”. People on the plane just say “Oh, c’mon, just start the damn engines!” . Then co-pilot says “So, we go anyway. Mind that if something happens, it’s not our fault.” And I’m wondering “Don’t they have safety rules to comply with? A limit to the risks they can take?” Then a guy sitting by my side just says - trying to assure me - that this co-pilot is crazy and checks weather forecast every ten seconds, but that I shouldn’t worry, weather is just fine.

      Piloting a Helicopter:
I was in some city at night, possibly New York since that's what I thought it was. There was a large skyscraper which stood out since there were no other really large buildings nearby. It was silver covered all over with windows. The middle of this building was caved in, so, that the two remaining sides were standing out. The city especially the streets surrounding this building were very foggy which made it difficult to see around. I found myself flying a helicopter above a building which I assumed was the hotel that I was staying in with some of my family members. There were a lot of cars on the roof and my family members were also with me. We planned to evacuate the helicopter, even though there didn't seem to be any problems at all. My sister decided to jump first and ran towards the open door. I told her to get a parachute first but she showed me that she has one and jumped out. She opened her parachute halfway or so and landed in what looks like a tire yard surrounded by a fence, but, she's ok. My mother goes next and after she jumped, she opened the parachute a bit too late and ended up landing in a small patch of water near the tire yard. I only knew this because I saw the splash. My little brother was next. I don't think he had his parachute on and I couldn't help him out. As I recall, both my mother and sister were on the roof top pointing for us to land the helicopter. I tried to land it on the roof of the building and came close where in some cases, it was touching, but, for whatever reason, I couldn't maintain it. Pretty soon, I seemed to be losing control since it started moving towards the edge of the building(tried to keep it over the building). It went over the edge and I can't recall the rest.

      Airport Stealing:
I put something like bags away. I think I was at an airport. I decided to go around and steal some stuff. Since there were people waiting to be called for their flights, they were sitting on some chairs with their bags and stuff on the shelves behind them making it the perfect opportunity. I just walked by and started to steal them. In some cases, I decided not to, one case involving 6 or 7 wooden pencils. I can't recall what happens after.

Thoughts: The first dream was definitely interesting. It was pretty dark but the overall ambience was great. I got to pilot a helicopter, too bad I wasn't lucid. However, I think I was starting to fear the outcome of the situation had I crashed it and since I was having a hard time controlling it, that would have happened eventually. If fear is my dreamsign, I would have probably became lucid before it happened which would have been great, so, I guess I came close to lucidity As for the second dream, it was pretty hard to remember much from it even as I tried to remember the details
