    1. Night of boring dreams

      September 23, 2010

      Asleep by 2am?

      Beatles fragment
I recall there being some Beatles-related dream, but had a lot of difficulties with recall at the WBTB today. I recalled the dream fully when I woke up, and when I got out of bed to record it, it was already gone

      WBTB at 5am.
Took two green tea extract caps, but have since found out my Co-op stuff has a very weak amount of EGCG in it Set my alarm for 6:40am and settled in for a WILD. Fell asleep at some point.

      Pets fighting
Mum had a large white parrot and a tiny black budgie in a rabbit cage together. The budgie was doing it's best to piss off the parrot, by pulling on his wings and such. The parrot started trying to harm the budgie by pressing him into the wall of the cage with his beak. Mum got worried, so she held the parrot off while I got the budgie out of the cage.

I noticed mum had tied some string around the budgie's wings to prevent him from flying off, but I still held him protectively. I remember her saying his breed was called an anteater, because he's all black.

False awakening happened between these two dreams. It may have even been real, but I just remember waking up, and attempting to redo the WILD.

      Music class
I was attending a music class with a kid. The teacher wrote a staff on the board with some sharp signs. She wrote some notes to a classical piece (she even called it "boring classical piece" or something like that) and told us we could figure out which notes came next By looking back and seeing which notes have been changed already, like a pattern. Not being very good at patterns, I racked my brain trying to see which note would be changed. I thought I had it, but the dream dissolved before I could hear the answer.

After this dream (ended via alarm), I thought that perhaps I hadn't woken up at all. It didn't feel like I had.

      Back in bed...

      Work dream
I was at this basement of a warehouse. I was with a co-worker, and she was taking off for food, but said she'd be back. Only, she never did come back. I had a lot of extra duties, since I was trying to run Dispatch from this new place I'd never been before.

I'm talking with this new field supervisor on the phone. We listen to some messages, and he hears that one of his mobile drivers scheduled to work tonight, left a message saying he can't work mobile anymore (just a few hours before his shift was supposed to start). This upset me. It' completely unfair of staff to do that (it's happened before IRL!). This guy hasn't outright quit, he just wants off mobile, but tell him to suck it up for another night. He's still responsible for this shift! We started reviewing a list of people on his team currently, who (in my opinion) were trustworthy staff, and who have been fickle.

I'm out at a family gathering with Jack and some family of his (all DC's). There's a girl who's never been there before, and says something about ghosts, and we all take in a breath, because the kitchen, in particular, has seen some haunted activity in seances past. I say we should try the ouija, but it needs to be fast, since I leave in 10 minutes. I'm throwing something in the trash, and my arm seizes up and feels like it is stuck to the cabinet door. I manage to break away from the paralysis, and I remain silent about what happened. However, when no one is looking, I check to see if the door was sticky (it wasn't) and tried to mimic the same arm motion to induce the paralysis again (I couldn't).

Back at work, I'm talking with someone in HR. She's praising me because the work I do at Dispatch has made her job so much easier. I'm outwardly very humble, but inwardly, I know that I've been rocking my site. She mentions needing to send me back up to the hangar in Airdrie again (the place I started out my dream). I tell her I'm not the best choice, because I don't have a vehicle. I look at the schedules and see that the Field Supervisor shift has been extended, but it falls an hour short of the start of my shift. The HR-lady tells me to give it a shot and ask him to drive me, anyways. It's the new F/S (his name appears as "Isk" on the schedule, but I call him Isaac), so I'm not sure that I can appeal to him, since we don't really know each other yet.
    2. Lucid Dream #11

by , 09-23-2010 at 10:48 AM (Warbenifit156's Lucid Dreaming Adventures)
      Lucidity: 6/10
      Vividness: 6/10
      Length: ~30 Sec.

So I was in a house and I did a random reality check. It had an algebra question on it and I changed it so I went lucid. So I decided to try to summon someone, a girl that I could have sex with. Then I ended up making a doll witch was pretty weird so I tried to make a human being. But that didn't work either. Then I had another false awakening.

    4. Stumbling Through Dreams

      by , 09-23-2010 at 06:20 AM
      Hello,

My name is Mandy and I finally got around to joining the website. One of my good friends recommended it to me after a few chats about dreams. I never really looked up much about lucid dreaming and have had some interesting experiences without realizing what is going on. To start, I will post a few dreams I have had in the past and then just keep updating with dreams I do have.

You may see a pattern with my posting and know that I only have weird dreams and nightmares. My dreams have been that way since I was younger so most of the graphic/scary things are very normal for me.
    5. 1/5 Tue, Am I the Good Guy or the Bad Guy?

by , 09-22-2010 at 05:41 PM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
Good night but a strange night. My cycles were about 60 minutes instead of 90. And for a period before the lucid, I was drifting in and out of sleep for about 5 minutes at a time. That's how I managed to count 5 dreams in only about 6 hours of sleep. I probably had 3 or 4 more tiny dreams that I didn't record. I think I would become a bit lucid in them and I would instantly drift into wake. I'd do an RC but I'd be in my bed every time.

0400: Finally asleep. It took me almost 2 hours, during which time I got up for a while and read.

0459: D. First cycle! But might notes are illegible. Here's what I decipher: Seems like I was asleep for a long time. I dreamed about my billy. I wants see if my buys construed. This is mad with me bran verses. Like my dreams are changed on my waterbed? Um yeah. No idea.

0559: C. I'm at a beach house next to a rocky ocean coast. Oregon, maybe. I'm outside. It's bright but just a bit hazy. I'm alone but I feel my father is around and that the house belongs to a friend of his who were are visiting. I'm using a laptop, paying bills. I have a physical letter that is some kind of offer to bid on a house for $200,000. I fill out the form online but stop to think before submitting it. I decide not too. My father walks out and asks if I'm getting an error on my computer. Something about "Phone recognized". He says it happens when you close a window. I close the window and see several error popup windows cascade across the screen and then close one by one. The owner of the beach house also comes out and explains they probably need to restart the router. We try to determine when exactly the problem started. But I hadn't closed a window while I was working so I only saw it after my father asked me to try.

0648: D. This was one of the really short dreams while drifting in and out of sleep. I'm on a computer. I'm programming while Alt+Tabbing back and forth to a movie. My sister sees the movie and is upset. Then the cat jump on my lap.

0730: D. I'm in the Daisetta house watching a basketball game. It's night outside but the lights are on inside. Lance is in the room, working on a computer. Both basketball teams are wearing red and it's confusing. I find this strange. I try to talk to Lance but he's focused on his work and isn't interested in the game. The game is important, like a playoff game. Lance gets up and put on a coat to leave. He's dressed for rainy weather.

0821: B. I'm driving home at night. I pull into the parking lot and Hugh is waiting for me. We talk about the plan for me to pick him up from the airport. I think, wait, aren't you supposed to be out of town? I'm picking you up, not dropping you off. This is weird and I become semi-lucid. But the parking lot is familiar and nothing else strange is happening. So I lose it. I walk to the elevator. There are a few old Asian ladies. One tries to talk to me in sign language.

I get on the elevator alone and head up to my floor. As it stops, I hear a creaking noise. The elevator slowly starts to tip over to the right with me in it, like a sinking ship.
Oh, I'm dreaming. God I hope I'm dreaming. I stay cool. "This is my world and I can do anything!" As the elevator turns horizontal, I jump out and hover in the elevator shaft. The car falls to the ground. I'm looking in to the building and it's looks dark and damaged, like on Star Trek when they take heavy damage with smoke and broken pipes in the corridors. Three superheroes fly out of the corridor and hit me while I'm still hovering in the elevator shaft. This knocks we out of the building and into the dark downtown Los Angeles skyline.

My stability and control aren't great. I look at my hands and that helps a lot. I'm still flying. I look around and see rooftops and buildings below. This is cool. Now the three superheroes are zooming around and attacking me with fireballs. They are dressed in brightly colored tights, but I don't recognized them specifically. I think, "Am I the good guy or the bad guy"? Oh well. I fight back with my fireballs (they are blue today) and fire breath.

I try the flying backward somersault with mixed success. As I'm upside-down, my vision goes black and disoriented. I recover. I keep defending myself with fireballs. At one point, 5 mirror images of Spider-Man jump out and attack me too. I throw a Street Fighter Guile Sonic Boom.

False awakening. I'm in my own bed. I know I'm dreaming but I feel like I'm in my physical body. I can feel the sleep paralysis of my physical body. I look down and see my foot with distorted toes wiggling. I try to move my dream arms. I try to focus. Dream fades and I end up moving my physical arms.

    6. Testing lucidity/Infallible RC is not so infallible

      by , 09-22-2010 at 03:17 AM (Serenity's Silver Millennium)
      September 19, 2010
      New dream colour PINK!

      Testing Lucidity (but not lucid?)
I was testing something in the dream. I only remember lying on the couch, but I can't recall if whether I thought I was still awake and about to sleep/dream... or whether I knew I was already in a dream, but for some reason needed my couch? I'm leaning towards the former.

Infallible RC is not so infallible
My company for this dream was Elise and Jack and this DC dude who rather liked me. He was trying to build or accomplish something... This detail is a bit fuzzy on me. I remember there being a car he was trying to fix, vaguely. We were in this house, and I spent most of the dream evaluating his actions to determine if I wanted to sleep with him or not.

At one point, I was in another room, and he was yelling at Elise for something. Losing his mind. So, he has anger management issues. That's a negative!

So, we're all standing out by some train tracks. I did a RC, and so did he. Elise wanted to know what that was all about. I explained to her that I do RC's when I become aware again, and then try to maintain my awareness.

Not a bad plan, only... My infallible RC is not so infallible. My back hurt and I felt weighted by gravity... Hmm. IWL, I do more than one RC, but never do in dreams. New plan: more RC’s I guess. Better awareness? More logic questioning? Bah.

Anyways, so we get off the train and I’m in a new dream! I'm a teenager, not myself. I approach this other girl who I guess is my sister, but I don't seem to like her (or her friend) very much. But I walk with them and talk about my friends. We've formed guilds in our school. And one was called distorted... I remember catching that (it’s the name of my old Warcraft guild) and "woke up."

False awakening. I remember waking up disoriented and thinking it's 10:15 in the AM. Almost time to get up anyways, might as well record the dream and start my day... Wait... wasn't I supposed to sleep for a night shift tonight? Woke up for real. Nose pinched. Truly awake this time

Since my recall is back to being quite stable and solid, I'm going to destroy it and venture back into DEILDs for a bit...

      by , 09-21-2010 at 06:29 PM
I can only remember fragments from last night but I can remember a few parts that were vivid.
My friends and I were at some amusement park and were on a ride that you are elevated upwards in a cage and then dropped until you slow down at the end. However one my buddies was riding on the outside of the cage for some reason. We went on the ride again after he survived however we were with our parents this time as well. He decided to ride the outside but lost his grip and was killed on the way down it was bizarre and terrible at the same time.
After this dream I proceeded to have a false awakening at my home 200 kilometers away (im in Uni right now staying there) which I can barely remember and I awoke thinking that 'it was just a dream'. I then started speaking to my family about the dream I just had right after a false awakening I can't remember their replies and that was all I can recall.
    8. Crazy Layered Dream!!

by , 09-21-2010 at 12:06 PM (Beyond the Horizon)
I went to bed after listening to some new songs, and the weirdest dream I have ever had.

In a room in a warehouse with LostInLA and other church friends. I knew I was in a dream, but I wasn't lucid; it was part of the story. Me and LostInLA wanted to have a shared dream, so we lay on these reclined chairs and took a pill each. I bit into mine and tried to swallow the liquid inside it. As I did something was wrong; people said "No Kevin!"
I think I took the wrong pill.

I went into a dream, I felt like it was my own mind. I was walking around in my dream. It was a normal place and the dream was very stable and deserted. I was thinking about how I would be in this dream for ages because dreamtime is faster and I was supposedly two layers down.

I was walking up this road toward the spot where I had my first lucid moment. I looked behind me and the sun was setting until it was night.
      *MEMORY GAP*

I looked up and It was morning in my dream and I made my way towards where I entered this dream. I saw some stairs which I climbed. At the top there was a doctor's office. I asked the receptionist if I could sit here because I was tired of just walking around. She said yes.

There were two other people waiting for the doctor. My church friend Rachael came out of the doctors office and I said "What are you doing here?" I thought it was just my dream. She said something like "I've been here since I got sick."
      *MEMORY GAP*

I realized I was dreaming FOR REAL sometime later. Everything was white and I yelled "Increase clarity now!" three times and rubbed my hands, but again, it felt like I was doing it for real in my bed and that it was too late.

      WTF?!
I think that lucid dreaming feels so real that I think I'm really doing the reality check. Grr...

I woke up into the first dream, after everyone was crowded around me shaking me to wake me up.

Later, I showed LostInLA my cast coming off; I pulled my arm out of it and it was all sticky and gross. She was like "Ewwww..."

      I woke up.

There was much more than that though. Something about a bus.

    9. WILD Within in a Dream

by , 09-21-2010 at 07:28 AM (...from the dark corners of my mind...)
DJ Log: September 21, 2010 – Morning, 2:00AM (USA Eastern)
      Text color legend: · NON-DREAM · NOTES · DREAM · LUCID ·

(Note: I have not attempted to WILD yet in waking life.)

I am preparing to sleep on the floor at a friend's house. The room is a small living room with a couple of couches, a table, and a TV. There are several other DCs preparing to sleep on the couches and other areas of the floor. My laptop is sitting on a small table near where I am laying on the floor. The screen of the laptop is illuminated bright blue, but I cannot read anything on it. I get up and walk outside a sliding glass door onto a dimly lit patio. The air is calm and it is very cool outside. There are a couple of pill bottles sitting on the table. I reach up and pull a shower curtain closed around the table. I open the first bottle and take a tablet out. While holding the first tablet, I open the second bottle and take a large capsule out. I put both of them in my mouth and pick up a glass of water. While tipping the glass to my mouth, I notice that there are more than two capsules in my mouth. I reach in my mouth and remove a couple of partially dissolved capsules and lay them on the table. I think to myself that I'll just save these for later.

After swallowing the pills, I walk back to the area on the floor which I previously prepared to sleep. I lay down and adjust my pillow, then pull a small blanket over myself. I close my eyes and after a brief moment, my vision begins to flash and my body starts to vibrate. I got excited for a moment when I realized I was having my first WILD. I experienced a FA, placing me back on the floor at the friend's house. I sit up on the floor and become lucid. I realize that I am dreaming, and nearly just had my first WILD inside of a dream. I was lucid at this point, but had no control. Everything begins to fade as I jump up and look around. I try to look at the floor and stabilize the dream, but it's too late. I am already back in my own bed with my eyes closed, staring at the back of my eyelids. This was the dream's exit.

(Note: I was trying to decide whether to attempt re-entry, or get up and write my journal. I chose the latter.)

    10. DILD Class 1 & Fragments

      by , 09-19-2010 at 06:44 PM (Ranbow Island - Otis's Dream Journal)
Not a lot to report as far as dreams last night. mostly just some fragments. One i can remember very clearly though and it was a FA:

I woke up and sat up in bed. i noticed the candle on the table was still lit, and walked over to blow it out. but the lid on the jar was sealed. i turned around to tell my wife, when i realized that a candle can't stay lit in a jar with the lid on.

I don't remember anything after that.

      DILD Class HW:

<@puffin> 1) pick three of the above reality checks and explain the pros and cons of each.

Nose Plug: While very simple, and easy to remember sometimes it dose not work. Several people have stating passing a nose plug RC in a dream.

Location RC: This could work splendidly if you dream about the location you visit on a daily basis, but this would not work for me. My dreams take place in places resembling those from my past like my parents house, or my home town. I have not seen either in about 2 years so remembering to RC when seeing them would be nearly impossible since i never see them...

Reading RD: I'm sure trying to read a webdings book would be key number 1 that you were dreaming, however if you are so into your dream that you can understand the gibberish this RC would pass. This would also fail to work if there was nothing to read at your current location.

<@puffin> 2) why is it better to question reality everywhere, and not just when something specific happens?

Because you could be dreaming about something from real life, or having a FA. I once had a dream i was out shopping in my home town. I didn't even think to question reality because it was something I was used to. In order to really become aware you're dreaming you need to question everything even if the same thing happens at the same time every day like the mail man delivering mail..
    11. #149. Chasing Zoe

by , 09-19-2010 at 06:32 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
Do you think this counts as anachronistic naming, or am I just getting lazy?

WBTB after #148 (which was better), so I'm posting this one on its own.

This may have almost been a WILD.

      09/18/10

When I come to, I'm lying on the floor. I'm also dreaming. I place my hands on the floor in front of me and run them through the grey shag carpet, trying to stabilize.

I get up, and go to walk out the door. I notice the lights are off. I decide to test whether I can turn them on and off, since light levels often change during my dreams. I flick the switch, but nothing happens. Huh.

I'm walking through the hallway, feeling the rolled on paint, trying to remember what I was supposed to do.

I pop my head into a bedroom. There are people lying all over. There are a few on the bed, a few more lounging on the floor.

"Hey," I ask my in-dream roommate, a girl on the bed who looks like Halle Berry. "Have you seen Zoe?"

"She said she'd be at the party tonight."

The dream fades into the party. I'm somewhat surprised; that's almost like teleportation.

      Lose recall.

My parents drop me off at an apartment in downtown Calgary. I have two half-empty cardboard boxes with me. Both my mom and my dad are very disapproving about my decision to move to Calgary.

We're driving through downtown, away from the skate park my brother wanted to go to. I see a couple of the people from the No Limits parkour group (I don't know them IWL), practicing as we drive by. I point them out to the other people in the car.

      Different dream.

Zoe has a little brother, in this dream. I steal a set of Janitor's keys from him and he chases me through the building.

      Scare Factor: 2/10
      Rating: 3/10

    12. I has a dream!

      by , 09-18-2010 at 08:27 AM
In this dream I remember being in a ghetto of a city. Some small black kid was dragging a bigger black kid toward the fence I was walking by and he said that they needed help. I knew someone, well, that was a buddy of my dads who worked in the "ghetto rehab" if you will. I then went to go greet him, as I did something made me think that I was dreaming, I started getting excited and decided to see if I was dreaming or not. I jumped up like 15 feet in the air and grabbed like a metal leaf decoration that was hanging from the ceiling. I clearly remember the mans face I was going to meet, and I remember being afraid of it, Not sure if it was a 100% lucid dream, but I think part of it was. I also believe I had a false awakening. Was pretty tight, too tired to think of it right now.
    13. Caught an INRALD/Flying

      by , 09-17-2010 at 08:53 PM (Serenity's Silver Millennium)
      September 17, 2010
      Additional

      Asleep by about 2am...

Caught an INRALD, somehow - Lucid - 1/5
I remember tossing and turning in bed, and randomly wondered about whether I was in an INRALD. Not too sure what set me off on that. I just remember thinking, "I could be dreaming this, right now."

I vaguely recall getting out of bed. I can't remember if this was a dream, or RL. Some unconsciousness happened.

      Flying - Lucid - 1/5
I remember flying in another short, chaotic dream, which made me lucid. Walms was involved again, somehow. Memory is really blurry.

WBTB at 5:45am. Unintentional. Cold meds wore off. Back to bed by 6:20 (couch actually. Jack's movement was making me nauseous).

Nothing to recall! My night feels like it was backwards. I recalled dreams in the first 3 hours of sleep, and nothing in the last 4 hours... Not even an INRALD to catch. I was void zoning for 4 hours.

      Feels like I haven't slept a wink
    14. Morning of 9/16

      by , 09-16-2010 at 01:20 PM (SCPantera's Dream Journal)
This was an unusual one: my wife and I decided to go to IHOP for breakfast. When we got there, we noticed there were only a few cars in the parking lot, so when we got inside and found several dozen old people seated and eating we were surprised. Also, there were apparently no waiters or any other staff. More people slowly collected at the front of the restaurant. I watched Barry arrive on a bike, only it wasn't quite Barry; he was shorter and a bit thinner but had a chubbier face. Just as I was getting annoyed enough to leave, Laura and I were suddenly on a city bus with the old people. Angry and confused, I asked my wife why we were taking the bus home when we drove there in our car. I pulled the string to signal for a stop, but a man standing at the front said, "Sorry, we only stop at the nursing home." The bus then did this sudden turn to run up on the sidewalk, where it narrowly passed by another bus parked at the curb. I realized that this was clearly a dream since normal buses don't do that, however I didn't go lucid, I had a false awakening upon which I described this dream I just had to my dad.
    15. 9-15-10: The Report

by , 09-16-2010 at 12:42 AM (Alone With my Mind)
      Non-Dream Non-Lucid Lucid False Awakening

I find myself in my ASB (student body) classroom. with the old student body class and counselors. I thought I didn't run for student body, this year, but I simply dismissed it as insignificant (whoops). As usual, at the beginning of the week, we were assigned reports to carry out to our classroom. My friend Z and I exited the room and found ourselves in an unfamiliar school with white and green walls. This same school was the school I went to to help my neighbor set up her classroom. I realized my friend Z wasn't in ASB as we gave the report, but again I dismissed it as not a big deal (another whoops). We finished and left the classroom, and I found myself as K of the Penguins of Madagascar (WTF?). We were trying to break open a brick wall off a school to get inside, as the school was in lock-down(?) or something. After several attempts of trying to total the wall, R simply ran the Hummer we were in through the wall, and I found myself closing my eyes, and opening them to appear my bedroom. This was a false awakening, I thought, because something was just off, and I became lucid. A long haired man walked into my room, and he appeared hideously warped. He had no visible face, his arms were dropped, his clothes were tattered, and his legs were limp. As I said, "R. P., is that you?", (I have no idea whose name I called out, I just remember the name) and he walked faster than the speed of light, and slurped near my left ear.
