    1. Cooling Off

      by , 09-08-2013 at 09:23 PM
This is the second of two lucid dreams from the morning of September 6, 2013. So glad I caught that emotion dream sign for this one because it gave me an exit from a nightmare and brought me into a really nice lucid.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #144: Cooling Off

I'm in a furniture store, looking around at couches. A plump Hispanic woman is seated nearby, answering my questions. The front of the store is a huge glass window with a clear view of the street outside.

      Spoiler for Upsetting dream premise:

The rage is so over the top that it feels bizarre to me. I can't remember feeling this way any time in waking life, so I reconsider my situation and
      I become lucid.

Immediately I feel this huge sense of relief as I realize that there's nothing to be angry about and that none of these awful things have actually happened. I'm still a little shaken from the preceding scene, and I walk to the bathroom where the girls retreated to earlier. I open the door and to my relief it's empty. I close it again.

I take a few deep breaths, cooling off the last of my anger and reminding myself that I'm dreaming. The anger has been replaced by happiness and a sense of peace. I feel contentment at the idea that I took control of this nightmare.

Now happy and relaxed, I remember the goal of getting to the Colosseum. I imagine that the bathroom door now leads to one of the tunnels beneath the Colosseum. I open the door, but nope, still an empty bathroom. I close the door again and walk to the back of the store.

I find myself in a hallway made of cinder blocks. There's some kind of socket wrench lying on the floor and I scoop it up. I feel like playing so I throw the socket wrench at the wall. With a thump it embeds about half an inch into the cinder block. I grab it, prying it back out and throw it toward a nearby mirror. Crack! The mirror cracks rather than breaks, but I'm delighted by how realistic the sights and sounds of this are.

There's a door at the end of the hall that leads outside. I step out into the sunlight, seeing a pavilion with long, wooden eating tables to my left. I remember to hook myself into the scene before continuing further, so I kneel down and run my hands over the small stone squares that make up the flooring. As I run my fingers over the cracks, I see that a tiny river of brown water runs through the separation between each stone. Somehow I can dip my fingers into this tiny stream and it feels cool to the touch.

As I make my way through the lunch pavilion, I lock eyes with a blonde woman in her early 30s. I'm stunned by how realistic she looks. Something about me seems to surprise her as well. For a moment I wonder what she's reacting to, but in the end figure she's just mirroring my reaction. I hop over some tables, reach the other side, and look back at the crowd of people calmly eating lunch. This is why I work so hard at lucid dreaming, I think. I wish that there was some way to permanently capture this experience, but I know there's nothing that can completely pierce the veil between waking and sleep to bring this experience back to me.

As I leave the pavilion, I see an ampitheater up ahead of me. I'm contemplating how to work this to my advantage when
      the dream ends.

    2. Fragments, Palin, and Doctor Who

      by , 09-07-2013 at 07:39 PM
Hypnagogia: A woman's voice saying "Run!" over and over again. Disconcerting. Woke myself right back up.

Nightmare: I'm in a dark cave full of dangerous creatures. So I decide to summon up a pterosaur to kill them for me. I hide behind a door against the wall and listen to it move around; it won't be able to reach into that narrow space, so I'll be fine. Except I start doubting whether the space is small enough, and become aware that I'm not in a narrow space, I'm in the much more open space of my bed.

(Woke up at 5:30 am, half an hour after bed. Back to sleep.)

A connection between the Palin family and a family of actors, a law that makes it possible to win an election without gaining a majority of votes, and a great deal of anger at both these things, though I don't much mind myself.

Birds flying overhead in V formation above my IRL home, thinking about luring them down.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

I'm the Doctor, the ninth, traveling with Rose, and trying to get into a building which is apparently strictly for the upper class and we don't look the part. The guard at the door stops us at first, then lets us in after I wave the psychic paper at him. After we're inside - looks like a casino - Rose asks if the paper made him see us as someone else, or in nicer clothes. I tell her it doesn't change the things people see, just the way they interpret them.

(Woke up. Suspect that last scene was inspired by the 'Run!' hypnagogia. Back to sleep.)

A little dark-haired girl, a relative, who hides behind the furniture and speaks quietly, tells me I should have listened to my visions. I'd just agreed to something, and I probably shouldn't have.
    3. 9/6/2013: fragments: drawing rocks into being, game mod and mom's job issues

      by , 09-06-2013 at 02:29 PM
No entry for yesterday since I'd rather it not be public, but for documentation's sake I did dream about Dave Strider again like I'd intended! Bro, too! I also became lucid briefly to change the scene twice so I was pleased about that :) Tags/categories for that dream are: lucid, memorable, nightmare, fandom: Homestuck. Now for last night's:

      1.
Jake trying to get our mom to buy him a subscription to something on the computer, a game? She won't because she's too busy with job stuff at the moment, and Jake harasses her, asking exactly what she's been doing this whole time since she has yet to gain a single client.

After/at the time this is happening (idk) I'm looking at a Dragon Age mod for a new character race called 'Fajjyn'?? The character is a slightly creepy-looking female with deep eyes, grey skin and bright red hair. Then I hear a short police siren and when I look outside I see the light from a flashlight shining on houses, but the light is pink.

      2.
I'm on the floor drawing with Brandie, using paper and pencils. Somehow she is really fast and near-perfect, and I get frustrated because whatever I draw isn't that good. She tries showing me her technique by drawing a rock, and I copy it but the rock looks too flat. We practice more til I create some decent-looking rocks, but unlike her small, smooth stones, mine are large, black and jagged things that pile up in sheets, literally! As I keep drawing, the rocks become real.

notes: During 1, I was feeling upset with Jake for acting that way but I wonder if it's my subconscious worrying that my mom will back out on everything after she's put in so much effort. The drawing dream definitely came from my worrying about being good enough when it comes to my art. But it was cool to draw something into existence, I'd like to try that again sometime!

Also, I had intended to dream about Dave again, but if it happened, I don't recall it.

    4. Nightmare resulting in brief lucid, basilisk coat and unicorn horn.

      by , 09-05-2013 at 06:49 PM
The lights in my IRL home won't turn on. None of them will, and I think of the darkness as a danger, which makes me wonder if this is a nightmare. I start to head down the stairs, by floating, head first. Yes, this is definitely a dream. I start to do my light-of-Apollo anti-nightmare trick, which after 2 uses appears to be my go-to way of avoiding nightmares now, but then it occurs to me that while I'm here, I could enjoy some lucid dreaming instead. I decide that there is no ceiling, so that when I look up, I'll see the night sky and be able to float up into it - and then I turn over and am pleased to see that this is so. After I've floated up into the stars, I look down to the house again to put the roof back on, and then, as if it was just a task I'd briefly delayed and had to get to now, I start up the anti-nightmare trick, and wake myself up in the process.

(5:08 am, just half an hour after bed. As I was trying to get back to sleep, it occurred to me - this has happened a few times now, nightmares with this timing and on the theme of darkness - I'm starting to suspect this is the result of trying to sleep before dawn. Possibly on some level I'm aware that it's much darker than when I usually sleep, and my dream interprets that as something wrong. Reliable way of getting lucid, though, so that's not really a problem. Back to sleep.)

Fragment: "Ancient papers, and an age a fraction of that."

I'm discussing an upcoming ball with a young woman I'm acquainted with, leaning against her desk while she goes over the invitation, pointing out the bit where they encourage everyone to dress colorfully, and she, thinking herself quite clever and looking for me to praise her, tells me about the black outfit she's planning, so that she'll stand out in a sea of bright colors, and she asks what I think. I tell her I expect that's exactly what the people throwing the ball are planning themselves, so perhaps take that into account. She reconsiders, and asks what I'll be going with, as she can't picture me in anything but black. I say not at all, my basilisk coat is blue, isn't it? - it's entirely black except for the basilisk design but that's enough, and I think about the feel of that dark blue color, the warmth of that creature's image on my back. As I think about that coat I either am or am referencing The Etched City's Gwynn.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

OUAT's Belle is binding Rumpelstiltskin in a contract without realizing it. She was speaking in metaphors and he's got to abide by them literally. While the two of them were attempting to patch things up between them after a fight, she asked him to pretend she's the mistress and he the servant in their deal. He, sitting on the side of her bed, is thinking that they've done this before, thinking of a particular scene in which Julia was a princess and I was her servant, and how utterly beyond my reach she'd been then. (A scene from a dream I had years ago, accurately remembered as far as it goes, though he left out the unflattering parts.) He's been silent too long, and when Belle says something, he jumps up and makes a game out of it, addressing her as milady, going to her window and throwing the curtains open, asking what she'd like for her meal. And although she didn't at all mean that he should literally treat her as his mistress, only that she wanted him to think about things from her perspective for a moment, she's not surprised by the game and she takes it as a sign that all's well between them again, so she gets up to make breakfast herself.

As she leaves the room, she finds a strange object in a corner of the hall - a statue of a unicorn that she hadn't noticed before, with what looks like a real horn. She knows Rumpelstiltskin's been after such horns, so she's wondering why he leaves one just lying around here - unless this is what he makes out of them. She thinks it's odd, and goes on about her chores, when she finds another one, smaller, in a window sill. She knows that wasn't there before, and she calls to Rumpelstiltskin, and turns to see that he's already found the first one, and is looking at it with obvious displeasure. This is something that shouldn't be in the castle.

(Woke up. That last one was almost certainly influenced by watching Legend the other day.)
    5. Reoccuring Kitchen

by , 09-04-2013 at 06:13 PM (Dream fragments and observations)
I wouldn't call them nightmares but I am very frustrated with them. Last night would make five total in the last two months. I think I'll make it a dream sign.

Recently a little mean old chef I used to work for tried to get a hold of me to see if I'm still interested in working for him. I am not.

But the idea bothered me on some level I didn't realize it could. This is the fifth dream I've had in two months about physically working in this kitchen I've never once set foot in before. And it's always the same layout. I should swing by to see if my subcontious is correct.

The dreams always start the same. There is a "breakfast nook" with a range top and several strange small pieces of equipment I've never seen before. It's surrounded by a light colored wooden bar area where old people get to watch me make their breakfast. I'll find myself cooking, then a customer will complain. Or the sus chef will start asking me to do other work and I fall behind.

Once I was late by 12 hours, and got a talking to. Last night I found myself taking a 3 hour break just so I wouldn't have to return to this senario, but when I came back, I found all the other cooks doing my job in frustration and I still had 3 more hours on the end of my shift. Last night I was finally able to clock out of work and end this shift I've never once been able to get through. So I went into the locker room to change and found old people who complained to the front desk I was changing out of my uniform.

I haven't worked for this man in nearly 7 years, I feel like I'm slaving away for him in my sleep! yuk!
    6. 9/3/13 lucid dream- bunch of stuff

by , 09-03-2013 at 04:35 PM (Dark Kikyo's Dream Journal)
I had this lucid dream this morning.

It starts out where I am standing in a field, watching over my flock of sheep monsters, when a giant black mechanical dog as big as an elephant comes and starts attacking them. I looked over to see if the defensive tank I build in a previous dream was working to stop it, but it had been left on stationary mode, so I ran up to it and flipped the switch to defensive mode. I jumped on the top and had to hold on as it started charging the dog. The dog fought back with both teeth and guns as my tank like machine rammed at shot back. The fight took us all over the field, and at some point my parents had come in through the north gate (for anyone who has ever played Oblivion or Skyrim, the gate looked like the gates you use to enter in the cities. Yes, I have been playing too much Oblivion lately) and were watching everything go down. The fight got to the other end of the field, behind a gray stone barn, when I realized I was dreaming and went lucid. Suddenly, becoming very tired of a fight I knew would last a long time, I made the dog machine and my tank disappear, and replaced them with a friendly, normal sized, brown dog. The dog was a little too friendly however, and proceeded to push me down and dry hump me until finally my parents came over and the story of the dream continued. My mom was taking me to a church for sunday service, and for some reason we had to wait in an incredibly long line before we could get in. The church was on top of a hill and the line led all the way to the bottom of the hill. We finally made it to the top, and I noticed this teenager, about 16-years-old, kept looking at me on the way up. Before we went inside he offered me a sip of his drink. We got inside and I was ushered into this room, then found myself alone. I went back out of the room and saw an old friend from high school sitting in the next room. She said something to me and after we talked a bit, then I left. I went back outside and left my mom to whatever she was doing, when my fiancé showed up. We walked around where everyone was now standing in groups, talking. The teenager came up to me again and this time he let me have the rest of his bottle of tea. I said thank you and walked around a bit. I took a sip of it, then threw it away because I got a strange feeling that he did something to it. I went up to a tree and stood under it while my fiancé sat down to my right. I stood there, watching the teenager walk around staring at me, and every now and again he would come up and say something to me, making my fiancé look not very happy. Suddenly, the teenager came up to me again, but this time he was wearing a red super hero costume and a helmet, and he tried to kiss me. I turned my head away and said "No, I don't want to kiss you." so he stopped, but he kept standing there smiling at me, when my fiancé got up and shoved him away from me saying "Don't you ever get near my girl again." The teenager came back with a "If she was happy with you I wouldn't keep seeing her standing around looking depressed." I just stood there, listening to their back and forth, then decided to take a walk down to the road at the bottom of the hill. They both followed me and when we got there their spat continued. I was looking at the teenager blankly when three tan creatures that looked like human sized versions of the monster I created in a previous dream, except without the purple spots, and they were wearing armor and were wielding weapons, popped up and started heading for us. I grabbed my sword and announced their presence to my fiancé and the teenager, who proceeded to pull out their weapons and help me fight. The battle didn't last long, but after defeating one of them I turned around and saw them strike down the teenager. I charged it and slew it quickly. My fiancé took down the other as I ran up to the teenager, dropped to my knees, took his helmet off, and held him up in my arms. He was saying how I should never give up against the evil one and defeat her no matter what, then started saying his goodbyes with tears building up in his eyes. I just watched and listened, feeling very helpless and sad, when he closed his eyes and died. I looked at him for a little bit longer then put him back down. The scene of me taking off his helmet, and him saying his last words, started to repeat itself over and over until I finally woke up.

I don't know what all that about the evil one was, but in the dream I got the feeling it was her that sent the black mechanical dog and the three guys to kill us. Maybe she will make an appearance in another dream, that happens with me sometimes. I really like it when my dreams are continued in other dreams like that.
    7. Sept 3, Advanced Task: Walking on the Ceiling

      by , 09-03-2013 at 01:40 PM
      Green = Dream
      Blue = Lucid

Alright, as far back as I can remember I was staying at a hotel. I went out to my car to get my laptop and found that my passenger door was open, and the car was still running. I automatically assumed that someone had broken in and stolen everything but all my stuff was still there. I had trouble turning off the car and it kept rolling backwards. The emergency brake didn't seem to quite work so I ended up just finding a big tree branch and blocking the rear tires.

When I went back inside I had a hard time getting back up to my room. I kept getting distracted. I remember there being lots of art shows and a group of women who were learning how to use a spray to conceal their bald/thinning spots (It basically just dyed their scalp the same color as their hair). For some reason this was kind of embarrassing to navigate (I got the impression that the women didn't want a man to see this going on), so I tried to get out of there as quickly as I could... which involved flying.

So there I am, flying around the room and on my way out I grab a balloon. So now I'm flying down the hallway with a balloon and people are trying to get it from me. Several people offer me money for the balloon, but I won't accept. After a few such attempts, a cute blonde woman offers me a kiss on the cheek, which most certainly is worth a balloon and I hand it over to her.

At this point I'm floating in the hallway, wondering where I should go next, when
I become lucid and remember the task of the month. Seeing as how I'm in a long hallway, I decide to try walking on the walls and ceiling.

I fly over the nearest wall turn sideways and land. I stand there fore a while to get myself accustomed to this orientation and then begin to walk down the hall on the wall. It was more difficult than I had anticipated and my feet kept slipping. Oddly, they weren't slipping down, they were slipping backwards as if they couldn't get a very good grip on the wall while some other force kept me in place. A few more steps and I was walking like a pro, so I decided to move it on to the ceiling.

The transition from wall to ceiling was a bit tough at first. My first attempts resulting in slipping and swinging around. So I stood there on the wall again, took a few deep breaths, and reminded myself that when I fly I can go anywhere in any orientation. This was no different. I take a short "hop" and now I'm standing on the ceiling. I remember thinking that the stamped tin tiles on the ceiling looked a lot like floor tiles, the realization of which made it a lot easier. I took a few wobbly first steps, then a few confident steps, then I sprinted, jumped out a window, and flew off for some acrobatic flying fun.

      Commentary:
Well, that was quick. I did this task first for several reasons, foremost was probably the availability of walls and ceiling right there. Next was that when I read over the tasks I saw this one as the easiest because it would be a lot like "flying with my feet on a surface" which it was. I might try this different ways to see if other methods produce different and/or better results. For instance, I imagine using TK to "pull" myself towards a wall might be easy enough and work well. It might be difficult but altering gravity might also work. I might also be able to roll the entire building over on its side and then top... which might be funny.
    8. A nightmare, a pair of Mad Hatters, and Faustian bargains.

      by , 09-02-2013 at 07:08 PM
There's some flyers warning about the invisible people from the community just outside of town, causing trouble. I'm annoyed at the whole us vs. them attitude people always have when they talk about those guys, just going to make things worse between us. But as I walk down towards main street, where a parade is going on, I see a few people from that community outside of town, except they're painted with this strange dark camouflage, makes them look like an oil slick. They're trashing the cars parked along the street. No one else notices. My perspective switches to third person - they're invisible. No one else can see them, the cars seem to just break on their own. Back to my perspective - in the parade, two horses are walking past us, and a camouflaged guy jumps onto one of them and digs his hands into its skull until it cracks and blood runs down. The dream switches to third person, so the guy is invisible, and the dream's focus follows the horse as it rears and falls, and the panicking people around it.

Memory gap, but with the impression that things got increasingly nightmarish from there, a fragment about a cabin with a door leading out onto darkness, until at some point I do the light-of-Apollo trick, thinking that it worked last time I had a nightmare so might as well try it again, and that clears things up, but also wakes me up.

(It had only been half an hour since I went to bed. Back to sleep.)

Fragment: OUAT's Mad Hatter chatting with "Joker," a similar Mad Hatter type character but with a playing card style red-and-black costume.

A man riding in the back of a limo is yelling at his driver to turn around. The driver isn't listening. Finally, the driver does turn the car around, and then stops it - not because of the man's threats, but because they've reached their destination. The man in the back of the limo jumps out of the car, but then realizes he recognizes the place where they've stopped.

He's at the gate to a mansion, a place he's been before. The owner of the mansion is just driving up opposite, and when the owner sees this man standing outside his home, he stops the car and gets out, pissed off. The guy who'd been in the limo has made a few comments in the past about the mansion owner's "perfect wife" which were meant innocently but were taken badly, and also a comment about how he thinks he's going to die in that mansion, which the mansion owner interpreted as an intent to buy/steal that mansion away from him. The owner only recently acquired this mansion, and this wealth.

As he's yelling, I, as a disembodied observer, am noting that he isn't looking good. His eyes are paler, he's looking a little scruffy, and in general, increasingly devil-ish - right on schedule. The rider in the limo certainly thinks of him as the Devil, exactly as we wanted, but the man himself isn't aware of the way he's being manipulated and transformed due to the Faustian bargains he's made, he's completely unaware of any supernatural influence.

A truck driving past crashes into the side of the Devil-figure's car and breaks the mirror. Attention caught, the Devil-in-the-making turns away from the guy with the limo, reaches into the truck and grabs the guy inside - a tall, skinny man with curly red hair, and a strong smell of coal. The cab is littered with cigarette butts and many, many matchbooks from the place where the Devil-figure's wife works.

Fragment: A father paying his daughter to take the boat out at a certain time, the creation of an alibi.
    9. 8/29/13 lucid dream- summoning the evil monster

by , 09-01-2013 at 03:43 PM (Dark Kikyo's Dream Journal)
This dream is a very long one, but the first 3/4s of it is just the same basic thing happening. This whole dream my person is played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, for some odd reason that escapes me.

The majority of the the beginning of this dream my character is traveling from her home to another home that I think is a place she plans on vacationing. Her ex husband came along as well and this journey to the vacation home is just a bunch of walking along abandoned roads and talking about random things. When the vacation home is finally reached everyone goes to their prospective rooms and winds down. Mainly I was just walking around the house listening to people talk, and it was when I was sitting on the bottom bunk next to my dream ex husband when I realized I was dreaming, because I am not, in fact, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and I do not have an ex husband in real life. Upon realizing this I went lucid. I got up and started staring out the front wall of the house, which was made of glass. I was watching a bunch of creatures walking around and playing with each other in the front yard when I decided I wanted to create something. I was concentrating, trying to make a creature of my own to play with the other creatures, and I succeeded. Unfortunately the thing I made was more of a giant monster then a friendly creature. It was taller then the house, its hind legs were dog legs, it had long, skinny arms with clawed hands, its head was also canine with sharp fangs, and a skinny neck and body. It walked upright, but it was sort of hunched over, and it was fur-less, with pale white, purple spotted skin. I was watching it run around the yard when I somehow got it into my head that I needed to confront it. I went out into the back yard, telling myself that I was crazy, when the monster rounded the corner and started chasing me. I ran away from it to the far corner of the yard, which was fenced with a wooden fence, when I realized this thing would kill me, so I lucidly made myself impervious to damage. Just in time too, because it grabbed me and started lifting me to its mouth. I stuck my hands out and pressed them against its face, then lucidly gave myself the power to burn whatever I touched. Its face started to sizzle and it dropped me. I came to a sudden stop in mid air before hitting the ground, which was one of the perks of me being un-damageable, then got on my feet and started running from it again. I would also like to mention that my running was fa-nominal; I finally got past my mental barrier of not being fully able to do super human things in my lucid dreams without a mental strain and constant concentration. I ran like the wind when usually my running is very slow, like I'm running under water. Anyway, It chased me around, grabbing me, then when it failed to eat me it would drop me. This happened for the rest of the dream until I finally woke up.

All I wanna say is, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.... Really brain, really??
    10. 8/31/13 - The Great Piss Adventure

      by , 08-31-2013 at 05:05 PM
This is one of my longer and more interesting dreams and my recall is waning by the second. Let's do this!

This dream was either very long or was an extension of the previous dream (basically a DEILD without the lucidity). I don't remember the first parts, save for that my sister was involved and there was a show that I wanted to watch after school. Now to the parts I remember:

I was sitting in English class. There was some trip you could go on that day. I'm not one for doing after school things, so I refused. Besides, I had a show to watch. I said goodbye to my teacher and went to do whatever I had to do next. The school was not like my real one. After I was done with that, I had to hurry back to my English teacher's room, for whatever reason. The buses were leaving soon! I kept asking people how to get to her room, but the school was a bleeding labyrinth! I finally came across one of my friends and asked him, "What's the fastest way to Mrs. Callahan's (my teacher) room?" He replied, "Well, you can go straight through... (this part eludes me) or you can go through Bavaria at either end of the school." In this dream, there were two regions we referred to as "Bavaria" at either end of the school. These places were locker/shower rooms bathed in piss where freaky German dudes hung out (no offense to German people). For whatever reason, I decided this was my only option. I moved as quickly as possibe through the piss-covered rooms, trying hard to avoid slipping and being caught by a German kid. I tried to used walls to retain my balance, but every surface was covered in piss! I was almost free, but the Germans came after me. As I was about to exit Bavaria, some girls screamed as they saw me (the area looked like a store) and some German tried to grab me. I suddenly became invisible to them and everything became grayscale and there were words at the bottom of my vision. This is where the dream ends.

Again, I apologize to any offended Germans!

*The fear of missing the bus is a common element in my dreams, but this is the first time it's happened in a while, possibly because school starts on Thursday.

My recall is faded because I waited to write this, but I clearly remember that the dream was about spiders and that I was scared, being an arachnophobe.
    12. Unknown ET who became my friend and protector

      by , 08-29-2013 at 10:27 PM
It started off with me and a few other people (some of them I think I knew) investigating a secluded woodland area that seemed to be way at the back of the woods. They were all standing around something, either talking about or to it. I came forward to see. I was shocked to discover that it was a small, green-skinned alien (or at least I think it was an alien) with large, childishly curious yellow/green eyes. His attention was fixed solely on me. This scared me more than anything. I turned and began to run. It didn't seemed to matter how fast I ran, every time I turned around it was there, staring at me with that same curious expression. I continued to run but as I did I heard someone say that it didn't matter how much I ran it would always find me. He seemed friendly enough but I was still deathly afraid. Despite what I was told, I still kept running. I had to climb over a stack of chopped down trees. I remember that despite my fear I was impressed at how flawlessly I ran along this large tree trunk. I felt as though my lack of clumsiness came from how desperate I was to get away from this thing. I don't remember in detail, exactly what happened after that, but I knew what happened. There was a brief period where he seemed to have left me alone. Then one day I was walking out of a small building with a white roof that was next to a large wooded area with tall trees. I was walking along a path that led from the building towards a wired fence. When I was far enough away from the building, he showed up at my side. By this point I had the vague sensation that he had been pursuing me for a while and that I had deemed him not a threat, but was still wary-until now. This time when I saw him he had changed form completely. Now he was tall, lean and muscular with fair skin and even fairer blonde/white hair. He was wearing army pants and a white vest. This was the first time I'd seen him this way and I liked it. I certainly felt a lot more comfortable around him, in fact I think I was beginning to return his affection. He wanted to show me his spaceship, which was nearby. On the way he picked me up and put me on his shoulder (which I enjoyed). He and I started talking about me going with him to his home planet. After that things became a bit of a blur again. The next bit I remember was the second most frightening. It was late in the afternoon and I was outside my house when a mob descended towards my house. When I say a mob I think it may have been the entire town. I think they may have been carrying lit torches. For a moment I felt completely alone and then suddenly I was on top of my neighbors house and he was with me. It was at this point I realized not only could he turn invisible but he could also fly. I was scared for my family and convinced him we should lead the mob away, so he picked me up in his arms and away we went. Once again things became a bit blurry except I knew we were on the run. Then we were at this shopping mall that me and my family have been going to for years. We were sneaking through. I was tucked under his arm as he jumped from shelf to shelf, keeping us both invisible. In the parking lot I saw my parents next to a moving truck. I was overjoyed to see them. I think we had just run into them by accident. It was a bright and sunny day. We sat in the back of the truck, me and him. I remember the texture of the wood. It was old and faded with lot's of lines in it. I also noticed that there weren't that many boxes. I learnt from my family that they had had to leave in a hurry. After some complaints from my sister, I managed to convince him to go back to my house to collect the rest of our things. He agreed. I figured it would be the last place people would think to look. He flew us back there under the cloak of invisibility. Once there I grabbed as many things as I could. I felt bad for him, not only would he be having to carry me and keep me invisible, but also the stuff I would be carrying. I'd managed to grab quite a few things when once again a mob showed up, only this time as it was the daylight hours there were no lit torches. We managed to get out of there with the stuff but it was tough. Once we were at my families new house, I was taken back by how idyllic it was. It was made entirely out of wood, though several interior rooms and the garden looked just like our old ones. It was after seeing how my family had managed to rebuild their lives in my abscence that I realized I no longer had a place in their lives. It was when a visiting maid nearly saw me that I decided to go back with my alien friend to his home planet. The last part of the dream was us flying towards the sky, passing some trees on the way. As we got higher, a giant cloud in the shape of the titanic (or a ship like that) came into view, making me wonder if we were heading towards an alternate or parallel universe. That was when the dream ended. When I woke up, my throat was dry, my temples were pounding, my chest hurt, every muscle in my body was sore and I was sweating. I have seen him again in my dreams, four times. The first three times he was in human form, the forth time he was in reptilian form. These were only fleeting moments though, but I know it was him. I never found out his name.

    13. Nightmare

      by , 08-29-2013 at 06:55 PM
I was in my house, of course a different setting nowhere I have ever been before. A homeless dude came up to us (I think he was African-American) and he asked to stay with us on a stormy night. For some reason, my parents accepted, and then he stayed with us. At midnight, I woke up and noticed that he was gone and so was one of my chihuahuas. I remember thinking that he ate the female one, Bella. I woke up everyone, and we were, well up. I'm not sure what happened for a while, but eventually, he came up t us and tried to convenes us that he was good. Again, my parents accepted him and he came back, then did something mean again. He did this several times throughout my dream. My parents stayed at my aunt's house, and left me home-alone with the guy in the house, I was very afraid. I remember ransoms notes, not for anything. I woke up laying down sideways on my bed, very cold, and terrified. Any ideas what this means? Please help!

    14. 8/29/13 Yearly school dream and "Adventures in the Dead Lands" parts 1 and 2

      by , 08-29-2013 at 04:42 PM
If this is too long and you want a good read, I'd recommend skipping to dream 2. That's where the fun starts. Titles of dreams are in red so they're easier to spot

      Dream 1, non-lucid
      "Yearly school dream"

Every year when the school year is about to start (this year it will start September 3rd) I have at least one dream with a wildly different school but the same people, yet somehow I never notice the differences and become lucid.

As the dream starts I am in a class that is suddenly ending. I know that it was second block and leave to go to third block. As I enter the hallway and notice that the school has a hexagonal center with a hall going around it and a hall extending from each side of the hexagon. The building has 3 floors, which I can tell because the inside wall of the hexagonal hallway is made of glass. In real life, the school is more of a + shape, with two of the wings of the building being the gym and the auditorium, the other two are hallways full of classrooms.

After I leave the classroom, I realize I left my books and my schedule inside the room so I retrieve them. A student who never gets in trouble (in real life) is fighting with an unknown teacher for some reason. As I check the schedule the room number doesn't make sense. In real life you can tell the location of the room easily because of the way room numbers are set up. Even though it doesn't make sense I feel for some reason that the room is in the middle school maybe half a mile away. As I leave the school, I realize that it's night time and very dark outside. Once I get around 100 yards away, I realize how stupid that idea is and turn around. 50 yards back I see two police officers leading a large crowd of kids in the same direction I'm heading. As I get closer I ask one of the police officers (who is a gym teacher in real life) what happened. He shows me fragments of metal and says something about flash bangs and bombs. I notice some good friends of mine are right at the front of the group of kids and talk to them. They notice I left before anything happened, and I make a hipster joke saying that I ditched school before it was cool.

The dream ends and I awaken. I try to fall back asleep quick enough to resume the dream. While I'm awake but my eyes are closed I hear the police officer tell someone to get back, and they reply saying that they will. However, once I fall asleep I don't enter that dream with lucidity. Instead, a dream that I liked quite a bit starts.

      Dream 2, non-lucid
"Adventures in the Dead Lands, Part 1"

I'm calling this dream Adventures in the Dead Lands because I'm hoping that giving it a name will make it more likely for me to think about it at night and resume it. I've had a few dreams of similar vividness, with an awesome atmosphere and a consistent plot, and I remember them at least to an extent despite years passing without thinking about them often. I'm hoping by naming this and writing it, it will be easier to remember and have again.

The dream takes place in a land I'm going to call the dead lands. I might map the dead lands and link to the map here while I remember the area well. When the dream starts, I don't know I'm in the dead lands yet, and I'm extremely groggy and tired. It's dark enough that I could barely see. I'm in front of a building that's like a giant weird concession stand. It's about 150 yards long, about 10 feet wide, and about 25 feet tall. A woman tries to take my order, but I'm extremely tired so while I hear everything she says, I don't have the energy to understand and remember what she's saying long enough to make an order. She gives me a paper menu to look at so she doesn't have to repeat what foods I can get. Everything is blurry and I'm disoriented, but I can make out part of the menu which lists prices and sizes of bowls of tuna, like you would get in a can but in larger quantities. I decide to order a small bowl of tuna for $5.00 and walk away.

For some reason, my dad flips out on me but after a while he goes away. I find a Glock 17 on the ground and check the magazine and see that it is empty. I rack the slide to make sure and see that nothing is in the chamber or magazine. After releasing the slide, I put it up to my head and dry fire before dropping the gun and examining my environment. From this point on I'm no longer tired or groggy. I then notice that about 20 feet from the long side of the concession stand that I was ordering food from in a direction I will assume was south, there is a very thick and creepy forest where the trees are dark brown, almost black, and the edge of the forest is where the edge of the grass is as well. Inside the forest there is grass which is almost black, and outside of the forest where I am standing the ground is light brown dirt. There are about 50 other kids my age that are here with me, and I ignore them. I decide to explore the area by going around the concession stand. Once I reach the other side, I notice there are ruins of a small town, and I instantly know I'm in an area called the dead lands, and that all the people that are trapped here with me are going to need to scavenge the ruins to survive.

I start along the western edge of the town and make my way north before going over the small walls (maybe 4 feet) of what were left of the building on the northwestern corner of the town. Inside the building, I see a large oven. The oven's window is completely broken out, and I can see a snack cake in a wrapper inside of it, so I put my upper body into the oven so I can reach it. As I go to grab for it a kid who goes to my school whom I will call T tries to take it from me, so I lean into the oven so I can kick him back with both of my legs. He reacts violently and punches my head multiple times and takes the snack cake. At this time I notice that the dead lands isn't just a location. It's a sentient environment. The wild animals, plants, etc. as well as the buildings, the land, and the creepy atmosphere all share the same sadistic sentient mind. Perhaps it is what is making him so violent?

I continue scavenging heading east and find a grappling hook that works just like the one from the game Just Cause 2. However, I can't use it the same way because I don't have a parachute like the main character in the game does. Additionally, being in the ruins it was severely damaged and works some of the time, so when I'd try to grapple I'd have to try 2 or 3 times. While I was scavenging by myself, T was forming a tribe or gang of sorts so they could pool resources and survive. He got everyone but me into the gang, and they made it a mission of theirs to kill me. To avoid being spotted I grappled onto a small wooden tower north of a small encampment they were working on. They happened to have sent a scout to this tower to look for me as I was grappling, and I notice it is another kid from school whom I will call B. B is a skinny kid, and I know he wouldn't attack me and couldn't beat me in a fight if he wanted to. For this reason I let him live, but regret it as he calls the attention of his forces to me.

I notice that the northern area of the forest is different from the other areas that are extremely thick. The forest just north of the ruins starts with a thin semi-circle of trees, with two large trees just behind, equally spaced from the edges of the semi-circle and somewhat distant from each other. The western tree is grey and dead, and the eastern tree is brown and living. The northern side (the flat side) of the semi-circle forms the boundary to where the forest really begins, where it is thick and creepy like the other areas. The large trees are probably 6 feet thick but no more than 30 feet tall. I grapple to the top of the western dead one, and while I'm spotted doing so they only know that I'm on the tree somewhere.

They gather around and a kid who's a little younger than the rest of us has a can of gasoline and some matches that they scavenged. I crawl down the back of the tree and go along the semi-circle where I'm able to blend in to watch the kid attempt to torch the tree. I see the kid end up slopping gasoline on his hands in the process and decide to head east towards a small group of wooden cabins. Before I make it that far I look over in the direction of the trees and see the tree go up in flames, as well as hearing the kid's horrific screams as he dies from the fire engulfing him. The cabins are incredibly creepy. They are colored naturally using the local wood which is dark brown, almost black. The windows are clear but the inside of the cabins are so dark that I can't see anything inside of them. I see a tall figure, maybe 7 foot tall, wearing a grey-black cloak where you'd only be able to see his face, except it was shadowed so I only was able to see black where his face would be. Maybe there was only a void, and no face even in the light? It observes me for a moment before heading southwest towards the ruins. It didn't kill me when it had the chance so I figure that the Dead Lands did not mind me, but didn't like the people torching it's trees.

I wake up to my alarm clock at 6:00 and decide to turn it off so I can continue dreaming...

      Dream 3, partially lucid
"Adventures in the Dead Lands, Part 2"

I successfully continue the same dream, right where I left off, except now it's in the morning rather than late at night, so I can see easily now. I don't look back at the cabins and instead head towards what is closer to a log mansion than cabin with two smaller cabins near it. The mansion is around 50 feet tall and long and about 30 feet wide. The other two cabins are normal sized. They are slightly lighter in color than the other woods in that they don't look close to black, but they're still a really dark brown. The cabins are on the northern coast of the Dead Lands, and to the south of the mansion there's a field of grass that's about knee high, and south of the field is the thick woods. The grass is OD green at the bottom and as you get closer to the tip of the grass it gets grayer/less saturated, but the top inch is a yellow-brown color like dead grass and the tip of each blade is pitch black. One of the smaller cabins is parallel to the mansion and across the path, the other is on the same side of the path and perpendicular a few feet west of the cabin. Near the perpendicular cabin, there's a truck that's similar to a dune buggy. Some men with guns are in the back, and some of the survivors from the ruins (the kids that tried to kill me) make their way to where I'm at while I'm looking around.

The kids make it known that they won't be a problem anymore, and that they just want to get out of there. One of them is a kid from school who hates me but talks to me because he doesn't have anyone else to talk to. I'll call him S. The guys on the back of the truck might be part of the Dead Lands, because they decide that they'll let me take the truck but won't let anyone that I won't allow. I tell S that if he'll help scavenge the area I'll take him with me, as the truck has enough room for two. Our plan is to scavenge what we can fit on the truck, and then head back past the cabins, along the path which leads west across the northern end of the ruins, and then out to an area that we haven't been to yet.

The others try digging for resources on the northern coast behind the mansion, I tell S to dig around the front of the mansion where there is some wood embedded in the ground, and I decide to explore the mansion. At this point I became lucid because I remembered that I woke up and wanted to continue the dream, but wasn't able to control my dream in any way at all, so I ended up forgetting about it and losing lucidity very quickly. I didn't want to see anything terrifying so I went straight to the top of the mansion to act as a lookout there instead of scavenging it. The attic was used as a bedroom, it simply had a bed, a table, a dresser, and two windows. It was very clean, but I figured the cabin probably wasn't used in at least a hundred years. I looked out the window facing south into the field. In the field I saw my mother's cousin's son who I think turned 3 recently sitting in some sort of swing on a wooden П shaped post where he was elevated about 10 feet in the air. He was about 250 yards away. There were also two absolutely massive deer that were very dark black. I'd estimate they were 12-14 feet tall excluding the antlers on the buck. The other deer obviously was a doe.

The buck's antlers weren't shaped normally. There were two spike like pieces with relatively smaller thorn like pieces coming off of it. They looked like they were designed specifically as weapons used for impaling and tearing through what they're impaling. The buck approached the child, but then ran straight backwards almost comically, but I didn't think it was funny given that I knew what was coming next. The deer tilted it's head down and charged as fast as it could impaling the child. I could barely see the tip of the horn go through his back, if it would have gone any farther it would have cut him in half. The child got stuck on the antler so the swing didn't move back at all from the force. For some reason I didn't mind seeing that happen. The two deer then disappeared into the woods. As I turned around I noticed something outside of the other window, which faced east. I saw a swarm of something moving towards the mansion but I wasn't sure what it was. Before I would have had a chance to run, it surrounded the mansion in it's swarm and presumably killed everyone outside. I then woke up at 7:00 and decided not to go back to sleep because school is starting soon and I'll need to be able to go to bed earlier.

    15. My boyfriend's dreams'.

      by , 08-29-2013 at 03:27 PM
So, here lately, in the past two weeks, my boyfriend has had two dreams about me, and they weren't too good. First of all, I want to let you all know that he never dreams. He just sleeps, a black sleep, no images or dreams, but he had two dreams of me.
The first dream, he dreamed that I had died. He said that he was at work one day, came home, and his mom told him that she was sorry and I had passed, he went to my grave sight, and I was buried under rocks and bricks, he picked up some of the bricks to see if it was true, and I was lying there, motionless, a corpse, with a rose in my hands. He woke up.
The second dream he said that I had left him, I didn't break up with him, but I quickly just stopped talking to him and going to see him, and I never spoke to him again. He was very highly upset about these two dreams, and so was I. I just don't know why he would dream such things about me, ya' know? I mean, come on. I've been completely faithful the whole relationship, and every single chance I get, I go and stay with him, which is usually weekends, maybe one or two more days, and i'll go home for school. I'm not sure what to think about these dreams, I just know that I was dearly upset to hear that he dreamed about that stuff. What are some dream interpretations, and thoughts about his dreams.

      Thanks.
