    1. Yugioh Duel and a Fragment

by , 07-21-2010 at 03:52 AM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. I'm engaged in a 2 vs 2 duel of Yugioh. My dream body is that of Yugi himself, and I'm teamed with Kaiba against Joey and some random DC. Everyone's cards have different backs instead of the standard vortex; my own have the Cinderella Castle from Walt Disney World. The game proceeds for a while, and Kaiba eventually summons a White Eyes Black Dragon which wipes out the other players. As we clear the table, there's some confusion as to whose cards are whose (even with the different backs). Suddenly I'm not Yugi anymore, and Kaiba asks me if I want to a draft of Magic the Gathering.

      2. I'm in a hotel for an unspecified reason with my friend M from college. Our mutual friend Z has died, leaving us to write grief-stricken.
    2. Faithful Friends of a Dragon

by , 07-20-2010 at 04:01 AM (A World In My Head!!)
      July 17, 2010

Synopsis: I'm roleplaying as a male dragon. Bad guys have locked up my friends! But the same bad guys are treating me as a king. Are they trying to pit my friends against me?

Night Time Note: I'm excited about seeing Inception the next day. So I fall asleep really wanting a fun dream. I also try to keep my thoughts as light and airy as possible as I fall asleep.

      Faithful Friends of a Dragon
Bad guys are after us, I transform into dragon - though I probably looked more like a gargoyle. I try to fly away (I'm not the violent type, what can I say? ) But my friends can't fly at all!

Instead we find some pillars. We climb on top the pillars and to our happy surprise the bad guys are dumb. One, they don't know how to climb the pillars, two, even though they could still attack us with their spears they don't! So I dangle my clawed toes over their head mockingly.

But then my dream completely morphs around me. I'm a much larger dragon now.
My friends are locked in a prison that faces my pillar. And everyone is referring to me as a guy. The bad guys treat me as some sort of god, but really I'm just as much their prisoner as my friends.

They try to please me by bringing me an innocent women and forcing her to become my wife. She bows down before me with fear, arms and legs bounded. She asks with a meek voice how she can please me, but I want nothing from her. I don't dismiss her though because I'm worried if I do the bad guys will abuse her. So I keep her near me and try to treat her as a friend.

I don't know if these people are just confused with reptilian bodies, because I don't remember turning into a guy or wanting a woman

They keep trying to please me with gifts, food, or whatever. All the while my friends get nothing. With their prisons facing me, watching me get the royal treatment. They're trying to make my friends envy me! Pit them against me!

I don't do what the bad guys ask of me. Instead I stubbornly perch myself on the pillar and do nothing. Frustrated with me, the bad guys leave me alone for some fresh air. Now was the right time for our escape!

My 'wife' quickly unlocks my friends from their prison. And to my happy surprise no one is angry at me. Instead they help my dragon butt escape out of the castle. I'm back down to a regular gargoyle size, and I feel myself again. The fastest way out is to fly. I carry my 'wife' and tell the rest of my friends that I'll be back for them.

We fly away without any of the guards noticing us. Now I just need to find some place to hide my 'wife'. I find a hobbit sized hole in the valley. When I place her down I apologize and hope she doesn't hate me. I also tell her that technically were not married anyways since neither one of us said 'yes' . Now that my 'wife' is just my friend I fly back to the castle.

But the rest of my friends were way ahead of me and meet me half away! Bad guys chasing them down the valley!

We've captured the king of the bad guys. He was represented by a mechanical toy. I rip him apart! And spread and bury his pieces all throughout this medieval land, making it near impossible to put him back together again.

His devoted minions find me and attack me. They too were mechanical, but android sized monsters. I rip them apart easily! But their magnetized spine would 'gather' the other pieces to reconstruct themselves. I rip their metal spine into even smaller pieces, scatter them miles away, and bury them deep.

Satisfied that the mechanical bad guys could never reconstruct themselves, I wake up!

    3. 07/09/10 Eye of the Dragon

by , 07-12-2010 at 03:07 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
After tossing and turning for what seemed like forever I finally sat up in bed, rubbing my tired eyes. Why was I unable to fall asleep? Normally I don't have any difficulty falling asleep, but this was clearly going to be one of those nights where I wasn't going to heading back into my dreams. Considering that I'd made plans to go back to find Dragor and finish the task of healing him. Well, that obviously wasn't going to happen tonight unless I managed to find a way to get back to sleep soon. Feeling kind of hungry, I left my room and went to the kitchen without turning on any lights. What I found in the refrigerator made me start drooling…

it was a chocolate cake! It looked like one of the most delicious chocolate cakes I have ever seen, dark chocolate cake with chocolate icing and slivers of dark chocolate on top of the cake, a ring of strawberries around the edge of the cake. Being hungry, I figured no one would notice if there was an extra sliver of the cake missing… I cut myself a thick slice of cake and happily ate it. Only then did I realize the slice of cake I had taken was extremely obvious to anyone who took even a fleeting look at it. I was trying to figure out some way to cover my tracks when it occurred to me that I could possibly be dreaming. I did a RC and discovered that this was definitely the case. Since I was in a dream anyway, I went back to the refrigerator and ate the rest of the cake.

Feeling like a pig now, I thought about my other goals for the night. Oh, yeah! I wanted to find Dragor and try again to heal him. With the intent to locate him, I focused on opening a portal and went through it. I stepped from the portal to find myself beside a very familiar looking cave; it was the same cave where I had found Dragor the first time! I hadn't thought there was a chance Dragor would be in the same place as I had found him before… Well, since I had been there before I knew exactly where I needed to go. When I reached the large chamber in at the end of the entry passage I found the same three people there. This time, however, Dragor was walking in front of the other two who were sitting in some big chairs. It was obvious that Dragor was angry at his two companions, he was pacing back and forth and telling them they had better get off their asses and do what he told them before he got really angry. The other two seemed a bit nervous over the threat, but not enough to actually do much… that is they didn't seem to want to do much until they looked behind Dragor and saw me. When he saw the other two staring over at me, Dragor also turned to see I was there.

This time it was immediately apparent that none of them wanted to waste time on idle chat. The three of them attacked me on sight, firing large blasts of energy at me. Witchblade formed immediately and protected me from the power of the blast, the force of it propelled me back through the passage and out the mouth of the cave. I landed there and looked back into the cave where I saw the three of them coming, Dragor in the lead. I waited for them to approach me as I considered my options for getting Dragor on his own. There was a blur of motion as the two guys with Dragor split to my right and left and attacked me from those directions. Now was the chance… I opened a portal directly behind Dragor and charged directly at him, right into his lightning attack and tackled him right through the portal…

The portal I had opened led to an isolated location; a dead world not far from the planet I had been on when I found Dragor. I hadn't specified where the portal should go, I had just directed the type of location I had needed the portal to lead, and I had wanted it to lead somewhere that a big fight between Dragor and me would not hurt anyone else. I surveyed the surrounding area. The landscape that surrounded us was completely devoid of life. Dragor stood glaring at me, the only thing I could see in his eyes was pure hate. And yet I knew that somewhere inside of him there was a spark, a chance for his heart to be healed, a chance for him to be set free of this hate and to live his life how he chose. But he was not going to make healing him easy, it was obvious that he was going to fight it every step of the way, holding onto is hatred in the same manner a drug addict will hold onto their drugs even though those drugs are killing them. He said if I wanted to play, this would be the last game of my life.

All I saw was a blur of motion as Dragor came directly at me in a full on attack. My training with Vegeta must be doing some good, as I reflexively jumped into the air and avoided Dragor's attack, coming down on his back with a hard kick that sent him head first into the dirt where he dug a trench with his face. That didn't even phase him, though, as he did a flip back onto his feet, turning to face me at the same time. He had a smirk on his face. He said he was glad this wasn't going to be as easy as he had thought it would be with me being a mere human. He moved his hands as if he was doing a Final Flash like Vegeta on Dragonball Z, instead of an energy blast, however, a blast of lightning came out of his hands. I used Whiplash to deflect the bolts back at their source. After reflecting back in the opposite direction, however, the bolt of lightning split into two separate bolts, circled around, and hit me from behind, the result was I was knocked over and was sparking all over. Dragor, apparently thinking the attack had done more than it actually had, was laughing at me and asked if I wanted to change my mind about fighting him since he really saw no advantage to destroying an opponent as weak as me.

Ok… it was time to stop being on the defensive and go on the offensive. I had the idea that since I had attempted to heal him he would expect light energy attacks and know how to block them. I thought maybe he wouldn't expect the dark energy techniques I have modeled after Alex Mercer on Prototype…

I had the song Phantom Lord by Metallica playing, but more because it helps me get more energy than because I was using it to focus a spell. I selected Alex Mercer's spike attack, sending dark energy into the ground to have it erupt right under Dracor in the form of razor spikes. Dragor responded instantly, jumping into the air, clear of the spikes while laughing. A bit more dark energy… and a blast of dark energy lightning came from the tip of each of the spikes, centered in on Dragor. Apparently he wasn't ready for that one, as he failed to get out of the way as the dark energy lightning wrapped around him and pulled him into the ground hard as the spikes retracted. So now Dragor was even more pissed off and on his back in the middle of a small crater.

But I also saw that the dark energy inside Dragor was beginning to become more unstable as he had tried to absorb some of the energy in the lightning attack I had just hit him with. With it being unstable, there would be a better chance to draw some of it out. So I switched from Phantom Lord to Silver and Cold by AFI (Your sins in to me, my beautiful one…). The effect of this healing song was to pull quantities of dark energy directly out of Dragor and into me. Even that wasn't as easy as it sounds… he was more than willing to relinquish some of his energy, in the form of flame attacks, sending waves of black flames in my direction. I had to redirect my healing spell, place it in conjunction with Fuel by Metallica (Gimme fuel, gimme fire, gimme that which I desire!", to absorb all of the dark energy as it came in my direction. I was focusing on The Curse by Disturbed to try to stabilize all of that dark energy as it came it, but it was looking like it might be too much energy to stabilize all at once.

No matter how unstable my energy might be getting, Dragor's was much more unstable because he was pissed off. He erupted into a massive blast of fire powered by dark energy. The entire area around him burst into flames, flames reaching high into the sky and scorching the ground around them, burning into the surface of the planet itself to make a large crater there. I could hear Dragor inside the flames laughing maniacally, saying that there was no way he could be defeated by one as pathetic as a mere human, his full power would crush me like a gnat… he continued yelling and laughing, sounding like nothing short of a complete lunatic. The flames around him blasted into an even brighter blast which was nearly blinding to look into. Witchblade was protecting me from the force of the flames as I focused on absorbing some more of the energy…

This wasn't getting anywhere… but it did appear he was expending a large amount of his energy into all of those flames. So maybe I might have some success in using a healing spell at this point. So I focused on using the song Touch My Heart off of the Devil Hunter Yohko soundtrack. The song started playing, and the first thing I noticed was something I'm not used to seeing… it was forming a sphere of light energy around me that was blocking out the dark energy flames. I was able to approach Dragor much more easily than I had expected with the dark energy being blocked out by the sphere of light. When I got close enough to Dragor I was able to move on to the next part of the spell; a pillar of blue and white energy erupted around Dragor,

which clearly got him even more pissed off or maybe it was actually hurting him, because I could hear loud roars from within the energy pillar that I couldn't tell if they were of rage, pain, or both. The pillar of light burned bright until it had burned off all of the dark energy flames and left nothing but a huge charred crater with an unconscious Dragor in the middle of it.

I went over to Dragor, he was alive, though he looked quite disoriented from the entire ordeal. I had some unstable dark energy inside of me… so I was focusing on The Curse by Disturbed (Defying the curse that has taken hold, never surrender, I'll never be overcome!) to stabilize the dark energy inside of me. I had gotten it mostly stabilized when Dragor got up and looked at me strangely, still looking very disoriented. The song spell to use now was Of Wolf and Man (I feel I change, back to a better day… Hair stands on the back of my neck… In wildness is the preservation of the world, so seek the wolf in thyself! Shape shift nose to the wind, shape shift feeling I've been, move swift all senses clean, earth's gift, back to the meaning of wolf and man!) to change Dragor back to his true form, which is that of a blue dragon.

Dragor now had the form of a huge dragon, three heads, shining scales that looked like they were made out of brushed steel, breathing bolts of lighting, roaring so loud that the surrounding mountains were shaking with the sound. The entire dragon was sparking, an electric dragon, it was an awesome sight to see. The dragon finally calmed down and looked directly at me with its middle head, now the dragon had the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen…

Dragor made a snorting sound in my direction before flapping his massive wings and taking flight into the sky and disappearing through a portal that appeared there. He had just disappeared from sight when everything around me faded and I woke.

Confusing, multiple versions of the same dream again but managed a lucid. False awakening too. Enjoy. Oh and I took Choline + Galantamine a few hours after first falling asleep.

      Cold Feet (non-lucid)

I enter my house and take off my shoes. I ball up my socks and place them inside. Wait, it is no longer my house. We moved out. I go up upstairs and see a scantily clad women cleaning the bathroom. I can't let her see me. I sneak into my room and see clothes stacked on the bed a floor. The closet and drawers are cleaned out. Posters overturned on the bed. I sneak back downstairs, grab my shoes, and head out back. Leaving the socks. It is snowing.

I walk down the alley and there is this garage without a door. I go inside and there is a black leather sofa and some people through tinted glass. A girl rides by on a bike and I follow her. I pas a woman that says something about pregnancy and veins. The garage opens up to this sort of backstage area like I am going to a concert. End.

      Cold Feet: The Lucid (dild)

I am lucid in my house. I don't remember how or why. I am upstairs and again there is a woman in the bathroom. I forget all about my goals and decide to kill her. I go into a bedroom and into a drawer. “There will be knife in here.” I think. I open the drawer and dig beneath the clothes to find a knife. It is weird. It is a Swiss thing with drill bits and cooking tools and all kinds of things I don't need. Fine, I'll just strangle her. “That should help stabilize anyways.” I think. I go inside but she is gone. I feel a cold breeze from the open window.

I leave the bathroom and search for the women. I go into the attic bedroom but it is empty. I look in the mirror and see I've got this crazy dragon tattoo on my bicep (none irl). I examine it, taking the dream rather slowly.

I go downstairs and into my living room. I phase through the window (something I've gotten good at, I'll do it again.) I am on my porch.

It is still snowing. Snow covers the ground. Bro and a co-worker shovel snow. I then see my neighbors' house...

and through the window covered with Christmas decorations I see my neighbor and his daughter sitting down to eat a nice, peaceful meal. “Jill” I yell. Nothing happens. I phase through, crash through their window and onto the table. I jump down and try to Force Push/TK him away. He smiles and says “I bet you just need to play Whiplash.” and smiles again. I have just enough time to think of the song before waking up.

      Whiplash by Metallica

Notes: Yesterday I had multiple versions of the shark dream. Tonight, I had multiple versions of Cold Feet. At one point, in one dream, the scantily clad women cleaning the bathroom was my mother. Yikes. And I was on a cell phone or something. Confusing. After the lucid there was an FA. I was sitting on my porch watching the snow. I went inside any my family was there talking about dogs.

      Frags:

I found some work equipment in the trunk of a car, there was something about the Nintendo 3DS, and the police were there.

    5. 07/05/10 Battle Against the Three

by , 07-07-2010 at 02:19 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: Tonight I wanted to do some more training with Vegeta. Vegeta has said if I really want to improve, I need to come train on a regular basis. I'll just have to see if I can keep my motivation up. So I won't go into detail on the training today, but I will just say that we did a bit more practice on what we did last night and then moved on and did the one with the drones… which I had thought was something Vegeta made up, but I have been told that is also from the Ranma 1/2 series… except in the series it was actual bees that Ranma caught, here they are small robot drones. This makes sense… Vegeta really likes the series Ranma 1/2… Next, I planned to track down someone who needs their heart healed. Inside, I am a healer... and I think it has been having a negative effect that I haven't been doing that kind of healing much lately. I also wanted to take a closer look at the locked book. I successfully slipped into a WILD…

My bedroom was dark when I woke up. I rolled over and got ready to go back to sleep. But first a reality check. I discovered this was a dream! I got out of bed as I became fully lucid…

I thought about my next goal. I used my first dream training with Vegeta, in which he once again did some amazing time dilation. Several hours of training fit into only about an hour of waking life time. Maybe even less than an hour. It takes a little time to actually fall asleep and get into the dream state even with the aid of meditation… Now I wanted to track down someone who needs to have their heart healed, to have their inner flame restored. First I asked myself who I wanted to try to locate. I remembered an individual referred to as Xildron, who I found out about from another dreamer. It seems that Xildron used to be a dragon, but got in a fight that ended in his death… and then some idiot resurrected Xildron as a human, which didn't make him very happy. It seems his energy is also unstable creating hostile behavior… I want to find him to stabilize that energy (the way I now see healing someone's heart) then he will be as he was meant to be. I'm not sure if I have enough information to track him… so instead I just tracked down the situation, which would no doubt lead me to someone who needed healing. So with that goal in mind, I opened a portal. I focused on allowing my tracking ability guide the portal to somewhere that my abilities would be needed. A portal opened and I went through it…

On the other side of the portal I found myself in a forest. It was a beautiful place. I walked through the forest for a while. The forest was filled with the sounds of singing birds and a gentle breeze blew through my hair. I wondered if my portal had gotten me anywhere near a situation like the one with Xildron… I didn't see anything that looked right. I decided it didn't really matter. Q keeps telling me I can't heal everyone, so I just have to focus on the ones I can find. So now I just needed to find the individual in the area who needed to have their heart healed. I walked through the forest for a while longer, just enjoying the setting. The forest slowly thinned out as I reached a rocky area at the base of a mountain. A cave opened into the mountain side. I approached the cave. Maybe the person I was looking for was in there. I wondered who might be living inside a cave. I entered the cave, making sure to remain silent as not to disturb anyone.

It started getting darker as I progressed farther into the cave. I adjusted my vision as the darkness became too deep to see well. The cave descended farther back, past a couple of passages leading off to the side. I stayed with the main passage. I finally reached the end of the passage, which was a large chamber. The flicker of torches illuminated the chamber. There were three individuals there. There was one on the left who had reddish skin, which looked like they might be scales, black hair that was basically a long mohawk, that went halfway down his back. The hair flowed down between two horns that were curved and had nasty looking points. He had ratty looking blue jeans on. The person on the right was dressed in black robes. I could not see anything of the thing's face or any other part of his body. Just glowing eyes… and those were glowing with a silvery light. The third man in the middle had normal caucasian skin, long hair that was a really light blonde or maybe silver, and he was decked out in nasty looking armor. The armor looked a lot like the armor in this picture, without the head piece and the lion insignias on the chest weren't lions… they were dragons. The colors may have also been different… I can't remember the exact color of the armor. All three of them appeared to be glaring at me, although it was hard to tell about the one in the dark robes…

I completely ignored the fact I was being glared at as I scanned each of them for a possible spark. The two on the outside didn't have any spark, or at least none that I could see… The man in the center had a spark… I could see that for certain. The man in the center needed to be healed, but I didn't see anything that could be done for the other two. I knew immediately that the other two were going to cause trouble for me when I tried to heal the third one. Now I walked farther into the room until I was right in the center of the chamber. Up until now no one had said anything, all three of them had continued to stare at me. Finally the one in the middle spoke. He spoke in a low growling voice. He asked me who I thought I was, and what did I mean by intruding in their lair. I said I had come to see him. He laughed a laugh that was completely without mirth. He said he had no business to discuss with the likes of me. He said I had made a fatal mistake by coming here, because now I could not be allowed to leave. I found myself under attack.

A massive blast of flames came from the demonic man on the left at the same time as the ground was cracking open beneath my feet, an attack coming from the cloaked figure on the right. I jumped into the air with quick reflexes I didn't realize I had. I found I was flying into the air, the chamber was much higher than I had thought. I flew through a large hole that led all of the way to the surface and out into the open sky. The three people from the cave followed me out. Three attacks came at once… fire, lightning, and ice. I spun quickly and did 3 rapid Whiplash spells, sending the fire at the ice, the lightning at the fire, and the ice at the lightning. That didn't interfere with them for long… All three of them came at me all at once. I made a dive to the ground, falling like a rock and then pulling to a quick stop as I landed. Three massive energy attacks were right behind me. Witchblade formed armor over me at the last possible second before the attacks hit. There was a huge explosion that forced me down into the ground. I felt an immense force pushing me down, it lasted for a short time, and then it stopped. When I finally extracted myself from the ground I saw the blasts had left me in the middle of a large crater… I could hear the three men laughing up above, saying that foolish human should have known better than to intrude. Time to try something else.

As the three of them were laughing, I flew up from the middle of the crater fully covered in my Witchblade armor. I used the spell song Crush 'Em by Megadeth. I hit the demonic entity with a blast of gravity that forced him back into the mountain, forming a crater there. "Heads I win, tails you lose! Out of my way I'm coming through! Roll the dice don't think twice, and we crush! Crush 'em! Now we lay you down to rest, you'll never be more than second best! Step inside you're in for a ride, and we crush, crush 'em!" The gravity had him pinned to the mountain. I heard him cursing loudly about how he intended to burn the flesh from my bones slowly for that. Almost in the same move, I hit the cloaked figure with a blast of gravity which forced him into the ground, forming another crater right next to the crater made when I hit the ground. More cursing. More threats of torture and death. Meh… I've heard it all before, been through some of it. I heard them saying this would not hold them! It didn't need to hold them long, just for a bit while I used a healing spell on the third one. One more blast of gravity would have to hold the third one while I did the healing spell. I had the song Crush 'Em going in the back of my mind to keep the gravity fields supplied with energy. I could hear the song playing in my mind, or maybe in the physical area around me. I couldn't tell if the others could hear it or not.

The third man cursed fluently at me. I ignored his threats, too. I focused on the healing song Devour by Disturbed. "I will devour you, take all the pain away. I cannot stay my hand, from reaching out so that I can empower you. For all eternity. It seems to ease my mind, to know that you've brought meaning to my life." That was going just fine until the other two were breaking free. I tried to divert more energy to holding them, but that interrupted my healing spell… and the action proved to be too little and too late. They were both free now. They attacked me and I avoided their attacks, there was an explosion of flames and some energy behind me. The third man, the one I had come to heal, was right in front of me now. He grabbed me by the front of Witchblade. I looked into his eyes and did a scan. I found an image of a dragon there… A bluish green dragon with beautiful scales and wings, like this picture, but the dragon had three heads…

The man spoke in a low and angry growl. He said he didn't know who the fuck I was or where I had come from, but now I was going to… He stopped short as he noticed my telepathic scan. He roared at me to get the fuck out of his head. A portal opened and he threw me through it before I realized what he was doing… I hadn't been expecting that move, I had figured he would try to kill me… As I felt myself falling through the portal to an unknown destination I woke.

    6. House (Boring) Sex(not boring!) DRAGON!? (Amazing!)

      by , 06-15-2010 at 06:54 PM
Dream 1: I was in my house, 2nd floor. My cousins were there and there was a computer in the hallway.

Dream 2:My Girlfriend (Ashley) and I in my room. Not gonna give details since I don't know how to do the spoiler thingy.

Dream 3: My friends and I were in a Hogwarts like castle. We went outside and it was snowing and people were littered all over the fields. Ashley and I decide to go back in. It's a huge empty space but very ornate and Castle-like. We're walking on the upper balcony, it is very dark here, as if only lit by a few candles and torches. We hear someone coming so we hide in an alcove that has some covering to it. As we're hiding two guards walk by without noticing anything... and then a DRAGON appears, but just the head since its as big as the alcove we're hiding in. He sniffs about and as he's about to walk away my jeans scrape against the brick covering just a little bit and the Dragon turns back. We continue to stay motionless and eventually the Dragon walks away.

    7. #50. Soylent Green

by , 06-14-2010 at 06:51 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
A dream occurs on two levels of reality. In one, the cast and crew of Supernatural go about their daily business of making an awesome TV show. In another, I go about my daily business of building houses. This gets confusing when suddenly I'm Misha Collins, calmly vacuuming up sawdust in the basement while a highly amusing PA briefs me on whatever they're doing next. Also, a suspended ceiling puts itself together in the writer's room and the baseboards I've been staring at for the last few days drift in and out of existence at eye-level.

      shift

I'm in a den, or a living room, and I think this was a mall a second ago. Everything is in dark shades of brown and black. I'm sitting on a brown leather couch facing a wide-screen TV, and along the opposite wall is a set of dark-stained table and chairs. Beyond the table is another room, which is completely white. Right now, it might be a kitchen, but it's about to turn into a slaughterhouse.

I have my laptop open on the couch, though I'm not paying much attention to what I'm looking at. I move over to the table when a ten-year-old boy wants to flip through the channels on the TV, looking for his favorite cartoon. When I look back, he's pulling up a page on another laptop, which is a list of his favorite cartoons, put together by his dad. A static image of one of the characters shows up on a projector behind the couch, and I start drawing it.

It's later. A team of vigilantes/ex-minions have found out what's really going into the meat made by this factory. They/we are standing around the owner, backing him into the white room. The boy* is wearing some kind of Kickass-style costume like the others in the room, and is staring at his father with an incredibly detached expression.

*I wouldn't worry about the little sociopath. I get the feeling that the vigilantes are all puppets on a string to him.

      Practically the Antichrist.

Two men grab the owner and force him toward the wall. He's shouting at them and struggling to get away, but when his back hits the wall, it latches onto him and forces him down a tube. I drift through the wall, and I can see the human sized plastic tunnel he's trapped in. Pistons are forcing the right side of his body, as he's alive and screaming, against the meat grinder. His right arm, part of his leg, and the edge of his scalp have been torn apart by the machine when I see his expression shift, angry but resigned, and the machine eats into his brain.

He probably wishes he'd designed the machine to kill its victims less horrifically, I muse. A straight-razor, perhaps? The machine rearranges itself on my whim, and I wonder if cutting the throat upside-down or right-side-up would be more effective.

Three women are standing in the same room, which, maybe, is supposed to be a different place entirely? They talk about the dead owner's eldest daughter, who has sworn revenge on us/them for killing her father, his right hand man, his lieutenants, the captain who exported the shipments, the cleaning lady, and possibly me, considering I'm short of a body at the moment. Also, for kidnapping her little brother, who I'm half-sure started the coup anyway.

They laugh a little and say they have to get back to camp, so they jump out of the building and land on the ice of a half-frozen river, and start speeding down it as if they're on a slide. I have to keep nudging them closer to shore so their momentum won't carry them out onto the middle of the river, which is slushy and wouldn't hold their weight.

One person crashes into the slush anyway. No one pays attention, and I have no idea if s/he gets out alive.

The women arrive at a rocky shore where a bunch of colourful tents are set up. No one brought chairs, so someone fetches pillows for the half-frozen trio to sit on, and blankets to keep them warm. I, still incorporeal, follow the guy who gets them and see a whole pile of pillows lying on the ground.

      Oh, and someone's getting married.

Soylent Green. Scare Factor: 3.5. Reaction: Lucidity, you escape me. And the meat grinder thing was pretty fucked up, too.

ETA: Oh! I know! I know! It was green, and had a giant lizard's head and sharp teeth that changed direction to spiral inwards and then fan out, and I knew I was dreaming because all of my dreams are just that fucking insane.

I can feel it nudge up against me, feel its scales and warm breath as it bumps its nose against my shoulder, and I'm not afraid because I know this is a dream...

      And that's all I remember.
    8. Link's water dungeon adventure.

by , 01-12-2010 at 06:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
Dream starts off with Link from the Legend of Zelda videogame series travelling to outside of a dungeon by a lakeshore with many flowers and ferns. I cannot remember what the dungeon entrance looked like or how Link got in. He is very muscular and "manly" and proceeds with confidence because he can navigate his way and defeat monsters with ease. There is a bouncy spring at the end of the first hall (which is made of blueish grey bricks), that bounces the person who jumps on it across a cavernous room to the next level, which is elevated beyound normal reach. Link jumps on the spring and starts to fly across the extremely large space but notices a floating bridge high up in the air and is able to direct himself towards it.

Link lands on the stone bridge and walks to the end of it which is blocked by a partially fallen wall. There is a space to squeeze through just big enough for Link and when he's through he is in another extemely large cavernous room, but this one is even bigger than the last and the floor is covered in a deep pool of murky water. The bridge abruptly ends not far from where Link had to squeeze through and it looks as if it has been broken off or crumbled away. Standing at the edge of the bridge and looking to the right, Link can see a tunnel that sits just above the water line and he figures that is where he has to go.

Just then an enormous sea monster jumps of the water and knocks Link off the edge of the bridge. He falls with the monster into the murky water and kind of panics because he cannot fight or defend himself while swimming and there seems to be no ledges at first upon which he can grab to get out of the water. The pool was calm and still at first but is now thrashy and wavy from the sea monsters movements, making it difficult for Link to keep his head above the water. Many of the waves slam him against the wall of the pool and he sustains damage.

The movement of the waves forces Link to the opposite end of the pool from where the exit tunnel is and for the first time he notices that there are other people in the water, also trying to stay afloat. Link sticks his head under the surface and sees the bottom of the pool, which is shallower in this end than the other and there is seaweed growing on the bottom. The other people in the water consist of several men of various ages and a young woman with short brown hair. When the water has settled down the people and Link swim over to the tunnel and pull themselves out of the water.

Link sees that the young woman is wearing a short skirt, low cut top and leather jacket and he feels attracted to her. She looks seductively at him then walks down the tunnel. Link wants to follow but can't because the old man starts talking to him saying that the people have to live in this tunnel because the sea monster has trapped them there. He doen't explain why they were in the water however.

There are bunks on the side of the tunnel and some of the younger men and Link lay down on them. When it seems that everyone else is asleep, Link gets up and walks down the tunnel. He turns a corner and finds that it comes to a dead end because the tunnel is blocked by metal grates and stuff. The young woman is there and Link goes over to her and they start making out. Some of the young men from the group come looking for them and they stop what they are doing and try to act nochalant. One of the young boys asks Link to follow him.

    9. The invisible chinese dragon

by , 11-26-2008 at 12:18 AM (Visions in the Dark)
The beginning and middle of this dream are too fragmented to remember. Here is what I can remember from the ending.

I am walking my friend's dog (a sheltie) at night. It is snowing and there is a frozen fountain to my right and a throng of people to my left. The people are lined up along a train track with digital cameras and photo capable cell phones in hand, waiting eagerly in the cold for a train. There is supposed to be a dragon riding on the train but it is invisible and will only occasionally appear on camera. I drop the dog leash and join the crowd, suddenly having my own camera, just as the train approaches. It is a freight train and all of the cars behind the engine are flat slabs. The night sky is suddenly aflame with hundreds of flashes that make it difficult to see but I just close my eyes and click away. When the train is gone, eveyone reviews their photos. One by one they discover that the dragon has not appeared for them. I check my camera and find that in some shots there is an image of a long chinese looking dragon laying on the the flat freight cars. The dragon has black and grey scales, and white fur(?) and claws. In some of the pictures the dragon appears to be fading in and out of visibility. Since many people in the large crowd are angry that they waited in the cold for nothing, I am reluctant at first to reveal that I have captured the dragon's image because I fear a violent reaction. Some people walk away in dissapointment, but others stick around and congratulate me.
    10. Marathon Dream

      by , 06-15-2008 at 02:55 AM
(original dream occurred June 14, 2008):
I had a dream that my apartment got hit by a hurricane. It rained so hard that you couldn't hear anything, except in the dream, it rained so hard that everything was completely silent. For some reason, peoples' voices were as clear as bells. I couldn't see more than 2 feet in front of myself. My mother and her boyfriend had gone outside to look at the rain, as it was raining pretty hard - the sudden increase in the intensity of the downpour sent us scrambling inside. In the dream, the area must have flooded, because I remember there being a large lake where there hadn't been one, and people perched atop the hills on the golf courses.

(original post titled June 16, 2008):
I had a very, very long dream.

First, I slept for around... probably 14 hours. It wasn't laziness, I simply didn't wake up.

I dreamt that I was a student at some sort of academy, like a wizard academy, but not like Harry Potter in the slightest. This was in a fantasy-type city - first off, think elven architecture. Very elaborate architecture, mostly stone and some sort of golden stuff. Most of it was devoted to the campus of this academy, and the pursuit of wizardry in general.

There were a bunch of other children there - I recall I was a child, just an older child. My brother was also at this academy, if my vague recollection is right. There was a stone ogre/troll in one of the more open areas, except that it was also roofed and fenced... in any case, all of the children who were up to mischief got together, including me, and poured some sort of oil in its ear, which brought it to life. It came to life and wreaked all sorts of havok until it was finally gotten under control. One of the head wizards (of the city) called me in, and told me I'd been the cause of a similar incident involving the same monster before. I remembered it, vaguely, and he showed me a document I'd signed.

The eldest mage commented something along the lines of, although I had learned no magic I had a strong blood-line, and I ought to marry a dragon. I knew the dragon in question, a coppery, gold-colored dragon. Unfortunately, I don't think that giant lizards are very sexy. That was pretty damn weird, although I have to admit that wizards are usually pretty damn weird.

In any case, as the dream progressed, I became the mastermind of some sort of coup of the city. There were rulers, a king and a queen, but their essence was contained in 5 spheres in the heart of the city, that were closely guarded. In the center of the city was a massive lake that was incredibly deep. Anyway, 3 of the spheres were King, Queen, and some sort of snow-man. I don't know what the remaining 2 were. The city's defenses were impenetrable as long as the spheres of the King and Queen remained in place, but I got ahold of all 5 spheres, and I threw them in the lake. The Snow-Man was some sort of guardian of the city, I don't know, but at one point I retrieved him out of the lake. I think the fourth sphere was that of the Master of Ceremonies - in order to actually take control of the city, I had to be sworn in as king. I needed the Snow-Man at my disposal in order to convince him to swear me in.

After this, the dream got more jumbled. I also woke up briefly, although I don't remember much, and I know that I felt really sleepy so I went back to bed.

After this, I had a dream about Cinderella, but not in the sense that we think of her, as this had absolutely nothing to do with the original story. Rather, it was about cinders. Something about a young man, and the girl in question was under some sort of death-spell, and he got a chance to save her by drinking cinders in some sort of potion. But rather than saving her, he wandered off into some sort of dream-land, and failed in his mission. Ever since that point he had been a very morose spirit.

In the dream, there were 5 men who governed various Aspects of something - I don't remember what the thing was. In the dream, it presented itself as a web-page, but I know that it wasn't a web-page, that was just the manner in which I browsed it. It was like a collection of information, and you accessed it through these personalities, and he was one of them. He had a long face and ash-grey hair. Each man had an Aspect, one had the Aspect of Strength, but his was the Aspect of Death (or something like that) due to his history. I was considering switching from the guy governing the Aspect of Strength to this man and his Aspect, because of some information that I needed to browse, but I was reluctant.

I woke up after this. I felt better/not as sleepy, although the dreams were very weird, but I had slept for a disturbingly long time. Usually that happens when I dream actively, and I felt like I'd been dreaming almost the whole time that I was asleep. I think these dreams were influenced by the fact that I've been playing too much D&D. Maybe I should ease off on RPGs for a while.
    11. Several stores and an island zoo.

by , 08-07-2007 at 05:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
There are two shop keepers (a husband and wife) who seem really creepy and insist I view their wares. They hover over me at all times and are very intrusive. Their shop is outdoors and consists of only two large bookshelves loaded with vhs tapes, dvds, and many different versions of the Bible. The couple will not let me leave until I buy something. Because I cannot see anything I am interested in, I try to stall by picking up some chinese sweet and sour chicken balls which are sitting by a coffee maker on a little table betweeb the bookshelves.

The shop keepers get upset that I am eating chinese food because it is "not very christian of me." I tell them that I am not a christian and they get extremely angry, but just then other customers arrive and start browsing around, taking the shopkeeper's attention off of me. I look through the dvds hoping to find something interesting and notice that almost all of them are in foriegn languages. I eventually find a nature documentary in english on tigers (my favourite animal) and hastily make a retreat from the little outdoor shop. It is not until I am quite far away from there that I realize I did not pay for the dvd, which I find amusing.

I cross a large field until I come to a road. I follow the road and it leads into a temperate forest. I walk for a long time until I see a large big box department store in the middle of the forest and go in. The place is huge but I do not see anyone around. I walked past the eletronics section and picked up a set of headphones that has a super long cord. I put the headphones on and have the overwhelming desire to plug them in. I feel that I cannot leave the big box department store until I do so.

I came across a large stereo system and try to plug the headphones in, but I cannot find the outlet. An eletronics department attendant suddenly shows up and plugs them in for me. I walk away from there, even though the headphones are still plugged in, and head towards the exit. The cord is long enough to let me make it to the other side of the store. When I exit the place, I discard the headphones and cross the small parking lot to a large highway that leads out of the forest. There are no people or cars anywhere in sight.

I follow the highway for a long while before it dissapears around a large hill. I do not follow the road anymore and walk straight up the hill. There is another hill beyond a small plateau and I can see some sort of walkway or bridge at the entrence of some sort of park. The bridge looks as if it is made of bronze and has art nouveau designs all over it. I walk under the bridge and see that the park ahead of me is some sort of zoo or animal sanctuary. I turn around and see that the bridge has disappeared. The hills are gone as well and it seems that I am on an island as all I can see is water behind me.

The animals of the park are not in cages and roam around freely like the people. I am afraid that I am going to see someone get mauled, but the animals are content to ignore the humans as long as no one bothers them. I see another hill and walk towards it (I am constantly going "up" in this dream). A white male lion chases a yellow male lion down the hill towards me. Just as I fear that I am going to get run down, the yellow lion turns suddenly. The white lion barely misses me as it attempt the same turn to keep up with his target. I lose sight of the lions behind some trees. I realize that there seems to be no more people or animals around and I feel like I am alone on the island.

Suddenly, a huge anthropormorphic rhino wielding an axe, appears out of nowhere and starts chasing me. Despite its large size it is incredibly fast and I have no time to think about what to do other then run. Because I am not fast enough, and I tire quickly, the giant rhino quickly runs me down and I get an axe in the back. I die but I don't die. A reset screen appears infront of me, like a videogame, and I am given the choice of choosing a new character, or continuing as myself. The two other character choices are large muscular men in loincloths. After a brief WTF?! moment on my part, I select "myself" and get ready to run again. I am placed back at the part where the rhino appears out of nowhere and I automatically turn and start running. I can hear him closing in behind me but I jump and grab a low hanging tree branch and scramble up as fast as I can. This gives me a chance to catch my breath and plan my next move.

The rhino cannot follow me up the tree but he circles it a few times before getting the idea to strike the tree trunk with his massive battle axe. I feel somthing in my boot and pull out a small combat knife. I jump out of the tree while he is distracted and circle behind. I stab the rhino in the small of the back with the knife, which cripples him, and he can no longer chase me. I walk up the hill and find myself surrounded by many lions lounging about. I assume they are male because they all have thick manes. In the distance I can see a white temple or castle and there is a large, black, winged dragon wrapped around the tallest tower.
    12. "Isle of Bailiwick"

      by , 09-24-1977 at 01:33 PM
Morning of September 24, 1977. Saturday.

This was another very long dream that I had as a teenager. It was one of those “I’m in a very long movie” dreams, complete with music, and sometimes even beginning and ending credits as often happened when younger. Girls are vanishing from beaches near Sanibel Island. The soundtrack (beginning one and ending one) is the theme from “She Waits” (1972 TV movie with Patty Duke that has nothing to do with uncharted islands or dragons). The boat moves along, somewhat in an arc. Somehow we get knocked out (Toby and I) in an attack by the dragon-creature near the beginning of my dream (a gas can hits our heads in one version), but we don’t know what it is until much later. So, while we are “asleep” within my dream, and the speed-boat continuing on its own, we end up at the Isle of Bailiwick.

There had been reports of a creature of some kind that attacked one girl. Brenda B (not Brenda W), a girl I knew, was the most recent victim. My best friend Toby T and I set out to try to solve the mystery. It has something to do with the so-called Bermuda Triangle. But we end up on an island filled with; you guessed it, only girls. Of course they are wearing clam shells as “bras” and seaweed and seashell-based jewellery. They worship a dragon-like creature that is somewhat like an alligator but a bit bigger. There is one scene where I am climbing on the rocks, and I am “attacked” but it is more like a movie scene. It reminds me somewhat of the cardboard alligator (made mostly with cardboard boxes) used in a school play in real life years prior, which was dragged along with unseen strings by the Captain Hook character. When it opens its mouth, it does seem a bit “fake”. I move about on the steep, jagged black rocks along the shore, though, wondering if I will escape the island and get back to our boat. Indeed, it does seem for a short time that I am making its mouth move with arm motions and unseen strings as it hisses.

Toby and I are tied up with seaweed “rope” to a tall wooden post, back to back, inside of some sort of old stone structure on the island. The girls are lead by LR, someone who is somewhat dominating, but a bit crazy and meandering in real life, even to this day, with hardly any memory of anything in her youth (or so she told me recently). There is one area that is sort of like an unfinished artesian well, with the water coming up to about “floor” level (somewhat like cobblestone). I see bubbles and such, but the well is too small for the dragon-alligator to come up, only for the girls to sing to her in prayer and appreciation (very similar to the movie “Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women” from 1968). I can hear the sounds of the creature echoing, though, “she” travels through underground caverns - filled with ocean water and some fresh water areas - under the island.

I am freed from the ropes near the first part of my dream and taken away to a different area and have to…interact with each member of the “tribe” including Sandra R and Patty A, oddly, in different rooms set up somewhat like a hotel! However, it means my eventual death, I assume, or at least not much else to do for a long time. I do not interact much with the leader, though, as I don’t really like her much (and there are other girls who do not like her or who just want to go home - that is, the ones who remember lives outside the island cult). It is like a “dragon mother” cult, where even babies are sometimes stolen from coastal towns and brainwashed into the fairly simple cult mentality, needlessly based on survival in a primitive place, when modern towns and medical supplies are within a boat trip (the leader allows some to die in childbirth instead of using modern medicine - boy babies are mostly sent to coastal town orphanages on some sort of primitive raft). Toby somehow escapes but returns later.

Eventually, everything blows up (some sort of feedback loop from fire from the “alligator-dragon” going into the place-of-worship “well” area, and me tricking it to go a certain direction). Some girls survive, though. We (Toby and I) return on the original small motorboat, and life goes on.
    13. Dragon Wagon Train

      by , 03-03-1973 at 06:10 PM
Morning of March 3, 1973. Saturday.

The main influence had apparently been from watching “Mackenna’s Gold” (here being my first viewing). However, there were typical western elements (like a long wagon train) in-dream that did not really feature in the movie and seem more likely borrowed from “Gunsmoke” or elsewhere. There are large groups of men (cowboys) chaotically rolling around down through shallow canyons like some sort of singular mass of colors (I view this from a high place), like human hedgehogs meandering everywhere like an ocean wave over the dusty land, filling sections of the canyon four people high - and wagons that expand like balloons and flutter out like sails in some areas on the sidelines - hundreds of men traveling by rolling around randomly down the sides of hills, piled up and rolling off each other, instead of walking or riding a horse. Human beach balls.

I am in a covered wagon at times with an unknown dark-haired girl who is apparently sleeping, on the other side, but the ride is very bumpy though the wagon rocks gently at times as well. I look out through the front and see no driver or wagon master. It does not look quite right; almost like a random set of small thin timbers going out at odd angles into the trail ahead, including one going up into the sky and somehow staying in position. I only occasionally think I see one horse on one side. It is still going in the correct direction, I suppose.

Light shines and moves (like the headlights of a turning car - though there can be no cars, can there?) through the prairie schooner’s canvas at times. I begin to have contradicting thoughts that we are inside a Chinese dragon of the type one sees on Chinese New Year. It must be a parade where the wagons are connected and look like a probably colorful Chinese dragon on the outside. I do not seem to recall any back story for this situation. Still, it is fun as long as I do not have to be observed being inside the dragon’s stomach. People cheer. Was I eaten? I do not think so.

A man in a top hat walks into some sort of store. There are at least three shelves behind the counter. They are selling treasure maps. The treasure maps are large rolled-up carpet-like items, standing vertically on the shelf almost like rolls of material for dressmakers. The cheerful man waves with his right hand and approaches the counter to buy a treasure map, but the entire scene is (or becomes) more like a drawing from a 1940s magazine advertisement. Being static, it still seems like a real-life situation and “resets” a few times, though, again, like a page of a magazine (or perhaps a panoramic curtain print) stuck in front of me instead of a “real” and dynamic scene.

They are very strange treasure maps. I somehow attain my own. You have to roll it over the entire area (from the right beginning spot) in order to study the map and go to the area where the treasure is under a section of the map. Does it just get bigger and bigger? Distracting. Then the huge map lying over the land near a canyon is more like just newspaper. Perhaps a mistake was made (and I received a newspaper instead of a valuable map, or maybe the map had a newspaper section somewhere out at one corner). I stand on thin newspaper beyond the edge of a cliff and somehow do not fall. The giant, expansive newspaper loudly flutters in areas where it is somehow suspended horizontally in the air beyond the cliff; reminiscent of a cloak flapping in the wind for a time; the loudest sound around (it sounds like several people shaking open newspapers at the same time, with an interesting echo added to the effect, an echo that “falls” into the valley below). Looking out over the canyon, where does the newspaper end and where is the treasure map? Perhaps I should walk back onto solid ground or perhaps stay put. I feel rather embarrassed standing on the floating newspaper when the treasure is probably close to the store or nearby building.

    14. Golden Dragon (Myoclonal Modulation) (Gold Series)

      by , 04-11-1971 at 10:11 AM
Morning of April 11, 1971. Sunday.

      Dream #: 1,574-02. Reading time: 1 min 50 sec.

My best friend Toby Taylor and I enter a castle, though it becomes a hall of our school in appearance. No one else is around.

A narrative begins, implying each of us has to choose a different door. The inference is that one of us will win a valuable prize, and the other will gain nothing and may die.

Eventually, I pick the door on the left (with the number 1 on it), and Toby chooses the door on the right (that features the number 2).

After I open the door, I immediately find myself sliding down a big pile of gold coins. I feel happy as I look to my right and see Toby also cheerfully sliding down the same hill of gold coins at about the same speed I am. We excitedly grab clusters of them as we are sliding and let them flow between our fingers.

Eventually, from below us, there is a sound like a lion’s roar. I realize we are both sliding toward what may be the open mouth of a dragon. (Even so, the element of fear and surprise is minimal.) I start to wake around this time and consider that instead of a dragon, it may be a furnace or fireplace in a basement or boiler room. I also sense it is perpendicular to the direction we are sliding rather than in our path.

This dream interprets my status of seeking somatosensory awareness while I sleep - to progress toward either achieving consciousness or greater awareness for vivifying and sustaining my dreaming experience. My instinctual and liminal summoning of coins began in early childhood.

Sliding, usually a vivid sensation, is a typical form of imaginary kinaesthesia (caused by the lack of discernibility of my physical body while sleeping). Sliding (as with other kinaesthetic events such as floating, falling, or flying) has nothing to do with symbolism or wordplay.

Using a door in the dream state is an activity I instinctually or liminally bring about to concurrently vivify or change a dream’s narrative upon stepping through the doorway.

There is more to the history behind the causation of this dream. It ties in with loose associations with incidental sleep apnea. I include this because I mentally summon and light a candle (a source of fire as is a dragon) when in undefined liminal space. Additionally, there is likely an association with the heater I sometimes had near the center of my bedroom. Its noise would sometimes wake me in the middle of the night.

After this dream, I read a Harvey comic book (with Casper the Friendly Ghost) that involved characters deciding which of two doors to open and ending up as mindless servants when they touched both doorknobs at the same time.
