    1. A walk after a WILD trip through a tunnel!

      by , 07-23-2014 at 08:10 PM
I had this lucid dream back in February. It was my first WILD!

I am practicing a relaxation exercise and mantra during a WBTB session. I feel slightly dizzy, then hear a roar in my ears. I then experience intense sensations of my body twisting and turning in space. I see darkness, but as I continue to hold into my awareness, I begin to see a vision of a tunnel. The physical sensations slowly translate into a feeling of shooting through the tunnel at hyperspeed! The feeling is almost overwhelming but I stay focused and conscious.

The speed finally slows and I feel like I land on solid ground. It is pitch black. Slowly, the scene around me starts to materialize and I focus on my hands. I am wearing black gloves. It is night time, and cold here. I keep thinking I DID IT but remind myself to stay calm. I look around and see lights far off in the distance. It appears I am way outside of town. There is a creek or canal to my right, and a path ahead. I am in awe of what I just accomplished and what I am seeing, but I don’t feel the dream is very stable. I know I need to stay engaged with the dream to keep from waking up so I start walking. I then see a small hut ahead with lights on. I decide to follow the path to the hut to see who might be waiting for me.

The dream then begins to collapse; everything goes fuzzy and gray. I recently read about LaBerge's spinning technique, so I decide to try it. I spin around as fast as I can. The scene fades to total darkness. When I stop spinning, my vision becomes clear again. I am in the same place, but now it is daytime and it feels like summer. The sky is incredibly blue! I admire a tree next to me and enjoy how bright the leaves are, as though they are alive. I look at several other plants along the path and notice some strange discoloration in the leaves. I wonder if the plants are malnourished. The dream then collapses and I wake up.

    2. 3 Dreams, One night

      by , 07-23-2014 at 07:42 PM
The reason I'm talking about all of these together is because they're all short and not super noteworthy, lucidity is somewhat questionable in all but one.

First off, something that isn't a dream but happened.. I guess?

As I slipped off into sleep I heard my mother say "Goodnight." or something along that line.

Anyways, off to the actual dreams!

First off, I had a dream (which may or may not be lucid) where I was wondering outside my bed. It was a fragment but suprisingly vivid for what it is. There was some sort of video game interface, think as if you were using the interface for Populous minus the big minimap. I've never even played a game of that genre so i'm puzzled. Perhaps I was wandering outside a sleeping body (In which case it may have been an OBE) or I may have just had a dream that started in the bedroom. But this did prove to me dreams could be in the third person.

Secondly, I had a dream about a minecraft server. Someone with the nickname 'Surge' was on there. That's about it.

Probably most interesting, however, is the one lucid dream I had if that OBE-type thing wasn't lucid.

As so often happens, I was just in my house, and reality checks said I was awake, but the sky was yellow, which may be how I became lucid. Anyways, after this, I explored my house a bit. Dream control powers wouldn't work, and a sixth sense told me I had to leave, so I closed my eyes and left the dream. Also, we had a butler and a really old air conditioner that for some reason squirted water on the carpet.

I think I had two others I didn't remember after I woke up, I still don't care because at least I had a lucid dream.

    3. Butterfly Transformations

      by , 07-22-2014 at 09:30 PM
Ritual: wtb 3:15am, last wbtb 9:15am, woke 10:38am, SSILD: WILD

Last sleep, last chance. It was already 9:15am, but since I'd gone to bed so late, and all my previous attempts that night had been without real motivation and had resulted in falling asleep before completing a single cycle, figured I could try once more. SSILD: tempted to mix it with other techniques, but if I was going test this properly, ought to do it straight up. My timing was messy and uneven, but remembered that was okay. Did maybe three cycles on my back, uneven length, afraid of waking myself up too much, given that it was already mid-morning, so turned on my side and prepared to let myself sleep. A few times I ran through the cycles very lightly and quickly, just to get back in touch with my senses. At some point in this process the cat jumped on the bed. I was getting closer to sleep but figured I could work with this if he settled down and didn't just start yelling. Fortunately he decided to sleep on me, and I was able to work that sensation into my rotation. I wasn't cycling regularly, just randomly once in a while when I felt I might be losing touch.

I must have been already dreaming without knowing it, because I thought I was only thinking, and it never occurred to me that the presence of sustained visuals suggested otherwise. I was replying to posts on some online forum made my a friend—nothing to do with DV, no one even connected with dreaming, just an old friend I haven't talked to in a while (AS). He was posting something about falling asleep a certain way and used an acronym like "TILD," and I wanted to reply snarkily with something like, "Does TILD stand for 'talking to yourself in bed'?" At the time, I was convinced this phrase perfectly fit the acronym, so I was apparently already touched by dream logic. So I was trying to type out my reply, and I simply could not type "TILD" properly. I tried over and over, and my fingers kept slipping and hitting everything else on the keyboard. Technical difficulties like this are one of my dream signs, but since I was convinced I was still awake, it didn't occur to me to RC. On the contrary, I thought I was having this trouble typing because I was getting too sleepy! This was precisely the opposite of a false awakening: instead of losing dream awareness by believing I had woken up, on the contrary, I failed to realize I was dreaming because I thought I hadn't fallen asleep yet! (If there's no acronym for this yet, I propose FFA for "false falling asleep," as it pairs well with the more familiar term FA.)

Around then the music started. I could hear a Pixies song. At the time I was sure that it was a song I knew, and it was playing perfectly down to the last note, even though I hadn't heard it in years. (I can't remember now what song it was, if it was indeed a real one.) I knew the music wasn't coming from outside me, and figured it must just be hypnagogic activity. The whole time until now I had been aware of lying in my bed, which was part of the reason I thought that I hadn't quite fallen asleep yet. After the Pixies song played in its entirety and then concluded, a new song started. This one intrigued me even more, because I was sure it was a song I had never heard before. It was lively enough to make a good follow-up to the Pixies, but the singer had an accent that sounded African. It reminded me of the song "Rise" by Seun Kuti, one that I downloaded free from Amazon and put on my running mix—but I'm not familiar with his other work. This song, like one before it, was crystal clear... like so often before I regretted that I am not more musical in waking life, because I felt sure if I were musically literate I could wake up and recreate it. But I didn't feel like rousing myself and trying to hum the melody into my iPhone when I hadn't even gotten to sleep yet.

WILD: At some point around here the transition finalized, and I realized, hang on, I think I am asleep now! I'm in my dream body! I could probably just 'get up' without disrupting anything... so I got out of bed, and even though everything felt extremely lifelike, there was a lightness to my body that I was sure meant I was dreaming. I was impressed how bright and clear everything was, and how mobile I felt, unlike a lot of WILDs where it's dark at first and I'm crawling over the carpet trying to get traction. But perhaps integration wasn't perfect yet, because hardly had I gotten out of bed when I was disturbed by a loud rhythmic noise that threatened to disrupt the dream state and wake me. At first I thought it must be the mailman knocking on the door, because I'm expecting a package. But as it continued without abating, I realized it must actually be construction on the house up the hill. How foolish it was, I chided myself, to do my dream practice so late in the morning! The world wakes up and starts making loud noises; at least during the night it is quieter. (RL: It turns out there's nothing at the door and no construction going on outside, so despite these very reasonable hypotheses about bleedthrough stimuli, the sound appears to have been largely or entirely internal.)

The sound was extremely disruptive and I felt alarmingly close to being woken by it. But I had just gotten into a perfectly good dream and had no wish to lose it so soon (like that time recently when I was woken from an otherwise fantastic WILD by my own snoring—come to think of it, this is another possible culprit for the sound!) How can I deal with this and remain in the dream? The answer occurred instinctively: dance! So I started dancing to the noise. It was a bit like dancing to the sound of hammers, and my dance was correspondingly jerky and spasmodic, but it did the trick! After a while I felt that the dreamstate was no longer threatened, so I paused and looked at myself in the bedroom mirror. Once again, as in the last SSILD, I was impressed how much like my waking self I looked: the hair was different, shorter, but the same face, same eyes. I smiled at myself and could see the smile in the reflection. Interestingly, even though it was a full-length mirror, I have no conception of what I might have been wearing. I wasn't curious about it at the time I was looking, so I have no impression of it now. If I had to guess, I would suppose it was a loose white summer dress of the sort I've been wearing around the house lately (I don't wear these to bed though).

Even though I had come to terms with the noise, it was still loud and annoying, so I decided to leave the bedroom and move deeper into the house, hopefully away from it. It might have diminished slightly by the time I got to the kitchen, but only a little, so I keep walking through to the living room. I notice my fluffiest down comforter is heaped up on the couch for some reason. I pull it off, and as the folds of cloth open I see the dark silhouette of a butterfly within them. I am momentarily confused: is butterfly a dream figment, or is it real? That is, just as I thought the sound might have a source in waking life, it didn't seem improbable at that moment that a butterfly might have accidentally made it into the house. Dream logic prevented me from realizing that, even were that so, how would I realize it when I was asleep in my bed? The butterfly flutters up and flies into the kitchen, so I follow it. Around this time I am too distracted to notice the noise anymore, being completely engrossed in the butterfly. When I enter the kitchen, I notice that in place of the little black one I followed, about the size of an ordinary monarch, there are now two very large butterflies, their wingspans about 16 to 18 inches across. One is slightly larger than the other, a very pale greenish yellow. The other one has the same base color, but its wings have black borders.

I am reminded of the task I had been intending to work on next, "creo animál." However, it seems that the dream has jumped the gun and already created the animal for me, so I roll with it and decide to experiment with "rego animál" instead—apparently forgetting I've already done this one numerous times. I know I should try "intellego animál," as I've never tried anything with that technique, but I'm not sure how to go about it, so I decide to put it off until later. I hold out my hand and command "Rego animál," focusing on the larger, lighter-colored butterfly and intending for it to land on my hand. The butterflies flit around and ignore me. I try again. Doesn't work. What's the problem? They are "animals," aren't they? I mean, in the broad sense of the term, I'm pretty sure insects count. Do I need the "auram" sphere for this, as they are creatures of the air? But I've worked with wind before—I've found it quite straightforward to conjure all the elements directly—yet somehow this is harder. I'm forgetting all the times I have commanded animals very easily in other dreams, and am probably just making it harder for myself by all the Ars Magica rigamarole, but truth be told I like rigamarole... it's more stylish and satisfying than just making things happen in a perfunctory way. I conclude that the main problem is that I'm just not putting enough focus into my intent, and so the third time I sing the command. For some reason, I always get the best results in dreams when I sing to shape them, and sure enough, now the butterfly comes over and lands on my proffered hand.

What next? I walk the few steps back into the living room, and command the butterfly to fly up again and go land on the small table by the window on the other side of the couch. Again, it takes me a couple tries, but the butterfly finally obeys. As it lands there, it turns into a young light-haired woman. I am distracted from this transformation by a young blonde man who is now at my side. He is not the second butterfly, the one with black-bordered wings: around this time she transforms into a dark-haired woman who is standing near the closet. With all this transformation going on, I am inspired to try "Muto animál," so I direct this command to the young man, intending for him to turn into a butterfly. He stands there looking a bit obstinate or confused, so I sing the command in what I intend to be a very persuasive manner, and he finally complies—sort of. He lies down on his right side in a fetal position. He is not lying on the floor, but on some platform a few feet high that doesn't exist in RL (there would just be a wall there). He produces a bundle of red yarn that he stretches along the length of his spine. I watch, waiting for the transformation, but nothing happens. I command him again, and he respond that he is doing his best, but that it will take a very long time—maybe up to a year!—because the timing isn't right.

It's possible that the guy is just dicking me around, but he seems sincere, and he does offer that he could transform more easily into a goat. (OMG! I hadn't even realized until I wrote this that my first SSILD also involved a goat... odd coincidence, as I don't remember dreaming of goats under any other circumstances.) I say that this would be fine, so he gets back up, discards the red yarn, and transforms at once into a brown goat of ordinary size. He warns me that when he is a goat, he speaks in a strange high voice—which seems contradictory at first, because he has already turned into a goat and is still speaking in the same voice as before. However, after delivering the warning, his voice does change. From his description of a "high voice," I was expecting him to start speaking in falsetto, but instead he sounds more cartoonish, like his voice has been sped up. With his new voice he introduces himself to me, telling me his name is "Hemm." I find myself wondering how this is spelled. I imagine it with two 'mm's, but having only heard it spoken, I can't be sure. Should I ask? Well it can't hurt, and might help me remember the name better. "Is that spelled H-E-M or H-E-M-M?" I inquire. He replies that there's no way to know: he was just a blacksmith's son and never saw it written down.

I realize that I should get the names of everyone in the room, because then I'll be able to write a more detailed report when I wake up. So I turn and ask the girl sitting on the small table, formerly the pale butterfly. She tells me her name is "Anna." She is now holding a painting, a vertical rectangle about 24x36 inches, and turns it around to show me the back. "And his name was 'Jakachibe', he was a Japanese thief." I gather that the guy she mentions is represented on the front of the painting, but I barely had time to glimpse the image before she turned it around, and now she is just showing me the back of the canvas, where something like 'Jakachibe' is written in large sloppy pencil letters on a wooden crossbar. I say "something like" because the transliteration of the name is even worse than what I've rendered here—there was another 'h' in it somewhere, maybe even a 'q', something more like "Jaqhachibe," but I can't remember precisely—and I have to bite my tongue to refrain from telling her that "Jaqhachibe" doesn't sound like a proper Japanese name and even if it were, it certainly wouldn't be spelled that way in English. I just smile and nod, then turn to the dark-haired woman who has continued to stand by quietly. She tells me her name is "Caroline." After I hear each name, I am repeating it aloud, to better impress it on my memory.

After talking to each of the women in turn, I notice that the young man who had transformed into a goat has returned to his former human appearance. He is of average height, with wavy blonde hair, short but not too short, a bit tousled, and he has a pleasant, open face. He volunteers that his name—in this form—is "Viryec." Or at least, he says something that sounds like that phonetically, but is probably spelled very differently—"Virjece" occurs to me as the most likely possibility—so I start inquiring more about it. He tells me that his name means something like "sincere effort." This rings a bell—both in sound and meaning, it reminds me a lot of the Pali word viriya, which has been on my mind lately, so I ask him if that term has any relationship to his name. Although he and his name both strike me as coming from northern European stock, perhaps there is some ancient Indo-European etymological relationship with the Pali... but before he can reply, I wake up. I don't know why my dreams so often seem to end just before what promises to be some interesting revelation, but here we are again. Still, I'm not that disappointed because I have so much to write down!

    4. My Art Came To Life And I Danced With Her

      by , 07-19-2014 at 10:31 AM
      [Journal Entry on second paragraph]

This dream was pre-planned and was completely lucid. I had control of just about every aspect of the dream from beginning to end. I first thought of a person (a drawing I created) and then thought of a place (Japanese image). I meditated and had gotten this amazing result that I believe was out of sheer luck. Everything was just about to COMPLETE perfection. Minor details were askew, but it was life changing nonetheless. My initial plan was to arrive in the planned destination and then call out the person's name for her to appear. (she didn't have a name at the time) I gave her the name "Lin," (because she looked like a Lin I guess haha) and I needed us to have something to do for the dream to be more solid. So I planned to ask her to dance with me there since the atmosphere seemed fitting.
      My entry below:

I had the most amazing dream of my life! I was in a strange black place that was difficult to figure out. Then appeared a lot of huge Chinese doors that I ran though one after the other. While I knew I was in the dream world, I tried harder and harder to imagine the place I wanted to go. With each door, the place started to form a bit more into view. I looked around and the place was a bit "lagged," as if I were in a game. I realized that I had to meet Lin and immediately called out "Lin! Liiiin!" My voice was so clear, I thought I was just awake and only "thinking," I was in a dream while yelling in my room which made me a bit nervous at first. I thought that I must at least be yelling in my sleep from the clarity of my voice. And then I saw her standing in the distance. I hurried toward her and was so surprised, it was so difficult to find the right words. I just then remembered what I planned to say . I said, "You must be Lin." She nodded. She tried to say something when I accidentally interrupted, asking her to dance. She agreed and we started a waltz on the deck. I looked a bit more closely at her and noticed her eyes were black and more like a humans. With just my mind, I fixed my dreams error and she looked more like herself. I also realized now after waking up, she was wearing a beautiful Chinese dress rather than what I had drawn to my surprise. She looked and me, smiling, and her voice was exactly as I had pre-imagined. A nice sounding voice with a Japanese accent since she was a Japanese based person. It was actually so strong, I asked her "Sorry, what was that?" Several times. She started talking about this guy there she wanted to avoid since he was driving 2mph or something (only in a dream that would make sense). I couldn't really hear her at random times for some reason. We danced around and she pulled me some ways to avoid someone. I started to realize it was time for me to leave and things were starting to fade away. Lin disappeared and there was a chair, or an erhu, or a bundle of giant spoons in front of me. I wanted to stay just another moment so that I could tell her I had a great time and we should meet again. I used my personal trick to stay in the dream and re-intensify it which was rubbing my hands together. A green bowl suddenly appeared in my hands and I fumbled around a bit to catch it and I figured it was a chance to focus on the bowl to get back the feel of this reality. Everything came back to a clearer view for another few seconds. I knew I was just about out of time and felt myself waking up. As everything started fading I shouted, "I had a great time Lin! We should meet again!" (or something like that.)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I am at my school where a little boy approaches me and asks for a home and a meal. In addition to that he wants me to read him a story. I google horror storys and my phone and choose a story with a witch.
I am in a big truck with to ghosthunters. I find out were on our way to the witch. We arrive and go inside. Everything is old, spooky and made out of wood. I have to duck my head. We go downstairs to the basement and meet the witch. She seems very nice and offers us to stay the night. I tell her if the hunters want to stay then I will too. She shows us our beds which are only 2 wooden planks. She lies down and starts telling us weird sex storys. She undresses and stands up. She asks me to join her and I do . The hunters turn into women too and well, no further explanation needed. I hear a narrator telling us about lucid dreaming and do a nose-RC.
I get lucid. My nose is really big and deformed. I take a look around in the basement and wake up..

    6. The Mysterious Goat

      by , 07-17-2014 at 06:09 PM
Yesterday I came across the SSILD thread on the induction forum, and decided to try it out. Success!

Ritual: Slept about three hours, woke up with awareness of having dreamed though no recall of specifics, but figured since I had been in REM I might as well give the SSILD technique a try. Doing the sense-cycling delayed sleep onset more than I expected, even more than with my usual WILD technique of incremental counting, even though I kept reminding myself that I wasn't attempting to WILD. Interestingly, when I was starting to get closer to sleep I was experiencing much more vivid flashes of hypnogogic imagery than usual, which I attribute to having primed my attentiveness to it with the technique.

On the verge of falling asleep finally, when I sense that I'm in an empty room with plain white walls, and that it's substantial enough to enter as a dream space. "I can work with that," I say to myself, and close the door. The handle has a pleasing feeling of solidity and the door closes with lifelike sensations, so I know this is actually working.

WILD: What to do now? Well, I need traction, so I decide to just use my body a bit until I feel more substantial. Last night my husband showed me a video of a guy doing amazing acrobatic tricks on a pole, and that must have subconsciously inspired me, because without really thinking about it I start emulating him. It's fun because I could never do anything like this in RL (who could? It's real gravity defying stuff) and even in a dream it takes a bit of concentration, so it is a useful way to integrate myself better into this space. As I do it I remember to occasionally rub my hands in front of my face for more traction, and for some reason it occurs to me that it would be a good idea to feel my head, which I've never tried before, but the lifelike sensation of the shape of my head and texture of my hair is very helpful, they make this dream body I'm in feel more like "me." The vividness and clarity at this point is quite high, and I'm wondering what I look like. I see a mirror on the wall (the walls were featureless initially so the mirror seems to have manifested in response to my intention, though not before my eyes... it was just there once I decided to look for it) so all I have to do is position myself properly in order to see my reflection. I'm pleased with how much like me it actually looks, although my hair is different: loose, shoulder-length and with a layered, almost spiky cut. But the face looks just like mine, especially the eyes. It was remarkably like looking into a real mirror, which is not my usual experience of reflections in LDs.

Given how lifelike my body feels and my reflection looks, I decide to play with it a bit. A couple times in my LDs I've experimented with trying to create an extra set of arms, like you see on some representations of Hindu deities, and I want to try that again. I'm now standing on a sort of balance beam, looking at a second mirror that has manifested on the next wall (a little more conveniently positioned than the first) and I start waving my arms and trying to create a second pair. With a little concentration I have a partial success: I think I can see and feel a second pair, but they are moving in tandem with the first. To be more successful, they would have to move independently, all four arms moving simultaneously in separate directions. I try to get the second set to move independently from the first, but I can't figure out how to do it! I realize that I simply have no mental imprint of what this would be like. Perhaps with a little more creativity or effort I could get this going, but I sense that at this moment the strain might be close to disrupting the dream, so I give up the attempt, amused by how tricky this is, and re-stabilize.

What next? I remember my current task: "Creo vim." (I've been working through spell combinations from Ars Magica.) I anticipated this would be a fun one because I had no idea how it would manifest, and deliberately tried to avoid anticipating anything in particular, hoping the dream would surprise me. So I hold out my left hand and concentrate on the spell. Nothing happens at first. How should I do this? I wonder if I should be using my right hand (my dominant hand in waking life), but figure that since I instinctively started with my left, I should stick with it. "Creo vim," I murmur, since I've found that saying the name of the spell aloud can be an effective focus. A tiny bubble manifests in the air above my open palm. It looks like a soap bubble, and as I have this thought, it bursts like one. But I'm emboldened by the fact that something is happening, so I keep concentrating, and another bubble appears. It grows larger and slowly sinks until it is a half sphere sitting on my palm. From there it keeps growing, getting larger and lumpier and turning grey in color, but still completely weightless and seemingly inflated with air. When this mass is about a foot and a half in diameter, it lifts from my hand and sinks gently to the floor, and transforms into a small white goat.

The surroundings have changed around me while I was focused on the spell. I am no longer standing on a balance beam in a white room, now I am outdoors at night, standing on the ground, looking at this goat that has inexplicably appeared. My husband is lying next to me, asleep. Standing in front of me is a horse harnessed to a cart. I ponder the goat, wondering what it might signify. On the one hand, it is an extremely cute little goat, with long white fur and two straight horns that are only a few inches long. On the other hand, it subtly disturbs me for some reason I can't identify. I remembered a trial take of a commercial that I saw many years ago. The commercial was intended to advertise a financial services company, and was showing clips purporting to be the customers. The most memorable one was a dignified elderly gentleman who for some reason was accompanied by an equally dignified white goat. It was so random and surreal, elegantly and subtly satanic, that the image always stuck with me—though I learned later that the scene was cut from the final version out of concerns that people might be disturbed or distracted by the goat. So what to make of this little goat in front of me now? The goat itself was just standing quietly and not revealing anything, until before my eyes it abruptly transformed into a few pieces of ripe and runny brie cheese on a plain white plate. This was even more mystifying.

I wanted to ask someone's opinion about the goat and its transformation, but I looked around and couldn't see anyone else in this landscape. There was just me and my husband, but he was fast asleep and I didn't want to disturb him. Finally it occurred to me to ask the horse, as the only other creature around. I figured the question of the goat's moral status could be answered by how the horse responded to the cheese, so I picked up a piece from the plate and offered it to the horse to sniff. "What do you think?" I asked. The horse readily accepted the cheese and ate it with apparent relish. This seemed to speak well for the goat! "Want more?" I asked, offering the horse a second piece, which it consumed as eagerly as the first. I decided to try a bit myself, and found the taste and texture very much as I would have expected from a runny brie.

There was a cemetary nearby, surrounded by a low wall. I could see the tops of gravestones over the upper edge of the wall, and I instinctively knew that one of them was connected with the goat, so I should investigate it to find out more. The entrance to the cemetary was just across the lane on which the horse and cart were standing, so I walked around them and went inside. From my original glimpse across the wall I had made a mental note that the relevant gravestone was the fourth one in, so I counted the stones I passed until I reached the fourth. It was an old style of slab carved from reddish stone, only about two inches in width, about three feet tall, and with a simple curved top, unadorned except for the text that was carved on it. I knelt down and looked at the inscription. I was pleased to discover that I could read it easily, and one phrase that immediately caught my attention was "Ghast of Vail Light." I took this to be the title of the mysterious goat. It sounded a bit spooky after all, but I loved this phrase! I immediately determined to remember it. "Ghast of Vail Light," I repeated to myself several times, and even said aloud to myself, "Remember that." I wanted to get it just right. Was it spelled "Vail" and not "Vale"? I looked again at the inscription. The letters were remarkably stable, and the spelling was distinct: "Vail."

I hadn't done any tactile stabilization in a while, so I decided to run my hands over the face of the gravestone. It had the cool touch of real stone, smooth overall but a bit gritty in texture, like sandstone, and I could feel the indentations where the letters were carved in. I was still muttering to myself "Ghast of Vail Light." I didn't know how much longer the dream would go on, and wanted to make sure I wouldn't forget. But I concentrated so hard on the idea of remembering this phrase when I woke up, that it woke me up! I wasn't disappointed, though, because I had plenty to write about already.

    7. First Lucid Attempt

      by , 07-16-2014 at 07:42 AM
      Non-lucid
      Lucid

First dream I had during the night was a dream of me scrolling the DV forums (wish I did a RC then) and after that I woke up

Second dream, I went roller skating and saw a guy I know from school in it, one thing I noticed was that I was EXTREMELY short as well. Somewhere in the dream I went off with some random guy with long sandy blond hair, talking about something whilst walking amongst beams and ropes. During our walk, he managed to slip and fall and broke an arm.

Next, I appeared in a massive house, I had a pet tiger who didn't look like a regular tiger, he was fat and round and had a head was the size of a boulder and he often growled like a dog. Somewhere during that part of the dream, I got upset over something (can't recall what) and I started seeing copies of the same person and I thought they were stalking me.

Later in the dream, someone gave me a tour of a room where they head heaps of pets (from cats, dogs, a pelican (who was super aggressive). Next I was in my front room of my house with heaps of birds and somehow ended up in my room. I went to turn on a light and it lit up some kind of billboard hanging on my wall and I thought, that's not what the light is suppose to do, tried to do finger through hand, didn't go through, but as soon as I plugged my nose and breathed out

"I'm dreaming!" I think. I stop myself, since I became a little excited and my dream started fading. I shouted "stabilize!" but the dream faded out

Woke up in my bed, with my laptop sitting there (false awakening), thought that can't be right, did the nose plug again-

      - I became lucid again. But as soon as I plugged my nose and became lucid, I started falling into nowhere. I saw text flying past me, then it went grey and I just kept falling and falling, I tried to concentrate on teleporting somewhere by imagining a door to the Great Hall in Hogwarts, I even tried demanding vocally "take me to Hogwarts!", which didn't work so I thought what else can I do in a lucid, jokingly thought sex, then a sound of a voice message being activated intruded my dream with someone starting to talk about sex and I thought "I don't want this" and I felt myself losing lucidity as well so I forced myself awake.

Woke up, and saw the remains of my dream being sucked away right before my eyes at the speed of light. It was a failed attempt at controlling, I'm still unsure if I dreamt of being lucid at one point, but I definitely became aware at some stage. The only good thing is that I managed to get a RC into my dream, which is something I'm quite proud of. It means I'm getting there . Will try again tonight.
    8. July Basic TOTM - Get Naked

      by , 07-09-2014 at 11:22 AM
With a bunch of Jubilee people heading to a meeting slash conference in an old fashioned church building. I'm torn between sitting with somebody I sort of fancy and playing it cool (can't remember who it was that I was crushing on) I end up sitting on the row in front of her. There's some conversion about the way the conference is organised this time around, with cars parking on site rather than in separate car parks.

I'm outside of the meeting wandering to another building which contains some kind of dormitory. There's a couple of loaves of rustic looking bread on the wall beside a pond, which doesn't seem to have any purpose or meaning (but appear again later on) and down some steps there are other conference delegates and we just hang out a bit.

Everyone else seems to be heading off to the next meeting but for some reason it's a meeting I'm not going to. I laze around a bit and have a snooze. I wake up feeling a bit miffed that I haven't got a dream to journal. It's rained a little while I was resting, the bread looks tempting but is all soggy from the rain and I'm disappointed because I kinda fancied some.

FA - I wake up back at the meeting, I've been sleeping with my head on my crossed arms resting on a little desk for making notes. I think about the dream I just had and think about journaling it, then I realise where I am is a dream location and GET LUCID!

I glance at the people sitting next to me and realise that they're just a dream and I don't have to sit through a meeting I'm not in the mood for. I say "fuck this" and get out of my chair a little clumsily, nearly tripping over the other nearby chairs. I hover forward feeling very excited at being lucid again after a dry patch.

I spot Jofish sitting at a backward facing take at the front of the room. I say "hey Jo, I'm lucid!" He doesn't look all that impressed, so I hover a foot or so of the ground and say "Look! This is a dream!" He still doesn't seem to care and I remember that he's also just a DC and it really doesn't matter what he thinks. I float to the back of the room and people are starting to leave. I look at all their faces, noting that I don't recognise most of them. They are a variety of ages, including some older folk, which is a little surprising because Jubilee is sadly short on that front. I spot a nice looking young lady and start imagining how to get in her pants. The bunch of us start heading back to the campsite and I realise chasing tail isn't the highest calling in a lucid dream, so I start practicing flying along the path. I struggle to get any altitude by jumping (up to about 5 metres but coming back to a few feet above the ground) I try floating because when you jump, you come down, but floating doesn't come with that expectation. Still only a few feet up. I try doing a Superman pose and flying fast but can only go at a rather boring swift walk pace (at which speed, the Superman pose feels a little silly)

I remember the TOTM Basic Task of getting naked, so I turn back to the bunch of people I was walking with, I'm just a bit ahead of them from my flying practice. I rip off my shirt and they all notice that something odd is going on. Because they're *my* DCs, they know why I'm doing this and they're all a little expectant. I aim to pull my trousers down leaving my boxers to last but my boxers come down with my trousers. Immediately, the several young ladies in the group start throwing themselves at me, jostling for the privilege of being unusually nice to me. Then I wake up feeling a little bit miffed that my libido managed to hijack my dream even though I'd decided to do something different but still feeling a little pleased that I was so suddenly popular, even if only with my subconscious!

Apparently, starring a dream feeling horny can set certain expectations...

    9. Yesterday And Today's Dreams

      by , 07-06-2014 at 11:46 PM
(First Dream) It was soooo hard to sleep with the fire works so I don't recall a lot of the dreams. But I recall appearing in a supermarket and going shopping but I was in the form of a spirit. I got scared someone would spot me so I tried to appear somewhere else. Instead I got in sleep paralysis and randomly I thought about a boy on the news who died at a park. I saw a image of a park and candles and got scared he would appear in my dream so I tried moving. Eventually I relaxed myself and saw myself in front of a door. I opened it and appeared in a house with white walls. I walked up the stairs into a room that looked like a office where you could see it was night turning into day. I could see stores, people at a bus stop and a few tombstones on a grass near the building.A spirit of a girl with a black hoodie, grey skirt and orange or blondish brown hair came behind me and breathed on me. I grabbed her and pushed her onto the floor. I saw a black cat outside on the window sill and tried to go through the window. But the girl pulled me back inside. She seemed slow but I woke up after a few seconds passed.

      (Second dream)
I was in the city running around about to take the bus. A boy spotted me and I flew into the sky. He asked his friends where I went but I just kept flying. As I flew i appeared in a really vivid world that was anime style. I saw i was in the middle of a ocean on a ship but I was really small. Like doll size. I was holding onto a metal thing above the ship and i saw a anime girl. But her head was huge and she looked almost like a chibi. I called out to her and I said hi. I ran a bit and saw that in the ocean there were waterfalls. Small ones that looked like it led somewhere below. Maybe into a whirl pool. I jumped off the ship and called to one of the 5 anime characters who were on mini motor boats on the water. I fell in the water and cried for help. One of them came and saved me. The waves were pretty tough. The person told me to hold on tight. I tried but the wind was so harsh I was blown into the sky. I saw them going far and I cried for help as I floated in the sky. Someone came back for me and as I was viewing the rest of the beautiful scenery and their cool large heads I woke up.

      Today's Dream

I recall having a lame dream at first. The last dream I had I was lucid so it was better. I don't even remember my first dream so I'll just write down the last one. I appeared in my house and walked to the living room to see a small boy from TV sitting on the couch. I asked him where Dawn was and if he was a bad guy. The boy told me he wasn't, he was planning to make me his future wife. I was like what!? I doubt it, he's probably just using that as a lie. Than out of no where a DC ran really fast into the living room. I thought it was Dawn in another form but maybe not. He was cute though. I told him I probably won't remember how he looks like when I wake up. I walked out the first door and he opened it for me. Too my surprise my porch was gone and all I saw was the sand and the large ocean in front of me. There were ducks and people jumping and sinking into the water. That's when I notice the water was rising. I tried jumping and climbing the wall than just jumped into the house.I asked the DC what was his name and he told me something like forest stash. I couldn't really hear him, he told me it will make sense if I type it on a search engine. I was confused but than he took me to my bro's room.On the computer was maple story and he asked me what color hair would I like. It was pretty random and I wanted to ask him another question. I asked what his e mail was and he told me than started telling me things in Japanese. I wrote it on paper but noticed it was dissapearing and I forgot everything he said.I kept asking for his email again but he kept telling me it was too long for me to remember. After that I appeared in the room alone. I went to the bathroom and saw a machine that changed the color of the lights. I decided after that I wanted to wake up. Which I did after going into a room and laying on a bed.

I remember the end of my first dream now. I was trying to get home with my dad and family in a car. My dad drove around the block three times till he stopped in front of the house. There I saw a boy cousin who I don't talk much to inviting me and my bro to have dinner at a restaurant. I said no but he kept insisting so we went. There I ordered turkey and the other thing on the menu was labrythyn. Which was crab or fish sperm according to the waitress. I woke up after eating some turkey.

by , 07-06-2014 at 11:00 PM (sparkley guy dream journal)
So like how my many LDs start, I'm in my house walking, and then I do a nose RC, become lucid and I start walking to my fav spot in the LDs I have, my livingroom, I start showing my uncle me jumping and touching the top of the ceiling, my auntie was looking too, my uncle said I can reach it, I was like whatever haha, on my way to the kitchen, I was thinking of everything I can, I wanted to do the hand RC again so I did it, my hand was kinda blue, it worked, so I started jumping like always and I thought of spawning someone so I did, I can't remember anymore so I'll list some of the stuff I remember
-rubbing my hands to make me stay in longer
      -breaking a black plastic bag
-not talking for awhile and being bored, continued jumping
Good thing I stayed up all night, I wouldn't of gotten this lucid,

I also tried thinking of ToTM and all that, but couldn't, I think I was most lucid in that one that the others.

Flying in the nude and eating junk food with Dreamer before visiting an alien planet. (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in some sort of party, somewhere in south california. I was surrounded by people that I have never seen before. I was wondering what i was doing in such party as it did not appear to be anything that I knew before. As I was wondering this, I told myself, "Wait a minute, I moved to Spain, how come I am still here?" After a few moments of confusion I realized I was in a dream. As soon as I did, the dream quality skyrocketed and everything became very clear.

I immediately recalled the basic task of the month, which was being naked in public, something I have no problem at all as I have done it previously. I took my shirt off as well as my pants and my boxers. I had no shoes or sok whatsoever so I was completely butt naked.

I walked through the party and some of the DCs stared at me, a female DC seemed to be very attracted to me. She was very good looking, but I did not want to engage in lucid sex and risk my "to-do" list so I took off right away and started to fly. It felt great to be flying in the nude, it always does since I've done it several times.

After some quality time flying and being very anchored in the dream, I landed in what looked some sort of downtown, with a lot of tall buildings and a lot of people dressed in business attire. I figured I could cause mayhem being naked in the business district, but I did not care, what I did was entering the building and looking for an elevator.

The building on the inside, looking like the Ritz hotel. There was a lot of red and green carpeting, windows had silk covers and there were huge chandeliers and a violin-played soft music. I looked for an elevator to enter it for the "advanced" Task of the Month
(this is a basic task, Opehlia, come on!! LOL You can ride an elevator in waking life) As I entered the elevator, it looked pretty much like the photo posted here on page one (I think I used that photo for another major elevator-dream a few years ago.) Everything appeared to be working efficiently, except for the buttons, which were random numbers, letters and some of them had weird symbols. I felt the excitement rushing through my body, as elevators are amazing in dreams. As I was about to push a button and see what happened, Dreamer entered the elevator and hugged me. She was smiling at me and told me, "I hope you settle soon so we can start to dream together" (this is funny, because Dreamer told me something similar in waking life as I told her I arrived to Europe) I found it funny, because we were already dreaming together, even though I knew somehow that this one could not be a dream-share, since she knew I am still moving and settling.

I told Dreamer, "Well, you know, the Special Task of the Month is to dream with another Dreamviews member, so I am excited you came."

Dreamer was smiling and then I could see her excitement in her eyes, so I suggested to ride the elevator. Before I could press a button, Dreamer did and a very strange noise sounded. The elevator started to shake and move oddly. I hopped the elevator would take us to someplace instead of just break down
(as it happens a lot of times) so I could accomplish the advanced task. The elevator stopped and the doors opened, but it was between two floors. I exalted, "Of course! Why I am not surprised." Dreamer jumped out the elevator and I followed her.

We were in a big lobby, what appeared to be a brunch buffet of some sorts, but there were no chairs. Just a huge table where over one hundred settings. I recalled another task of the month, where we needed to make/eat as much junk food as we could. There was a huge tray in the middle of the table and suddenly, a lot of stuff spawned around the table. Chocolate cakes, cookies, candies... everything hundreds of calories and sugar. I grabbed with my hands what appeared to be a frozen chocolate cake. Dreamer grabbed some random cookies, marshmallows and other sweets. She tossed them on the tray as well. I tossed some whipped cream, some M&Ms and some strawberry syrup. Dreamer emptied an ENTIRE bottle of corn syrup over the mix
(Jesus Christ... this is a nuclear bomb) and started to laugh. Somehow I tossed cotton candy over the mix and started to mix everything. I wrapped it up with some chocolate cookies and more random candies.

We started to eat the monster-junk-food we created. The taste was extremely sweet, too sweet to be honest. Tasted of chocolate, candies, plain suggar and it was so overwhelming, that we both only ate a bite or two.

With that being done, and while I was with Dreamer I recalled the other advanced task, which was visiting an alien planet. In that moment, I also felt that for the special task I had to actually fly with a DV member, so we both took off and left the Earth. I almost lost the dream here and started to allow the dream to take me away, but I felt it would be cool to accomplish all tasks in one shot, so I kept focused on the dream.

We flew through a wormhole and it was very dark. I could feel Dreamer's energy so I knew that we flew for a while together, but at this moment, I struggled to keep up with the dream, until I saw a green planet in front of me. I focused on anchoring on the dream and staying lucid. As I was approaching the planet, the dream became more clear again, and to the time I landed in the planet, I did not see where Dreamer went but I felt that the dream would not last long, so I explored the planet for a bit.

There were some small beings, grey and green colored, non-humanoid that appeared very gentle. I felt they were welcoming me somehow to the planet, knowing I would cause no harm to them.

I explored this planet for a bit longer. They had houses, but they were made out of green ooze and I did not want to touch them in case i broke them. They sky looked like Earth's, but green instead of blue.

I wondered how funny it would be if I found an elevator in that planet and I used it, but as I was thinking this I realized that was dream was fading very fast until I woke up.
    12. NyxCC in the Challenge #2. ★★★★☆

Getting up frustrated about no LDs. i realize that I am lethargic and can barely see. I keep trying to fix this, but can't. I wake up

DEILD back. I get frustrated that I couldn't get back in the dream and get up. Something attacks and I can't even move. It drops me to the floor. I want to get up, but it wakes me.

      DEILD back. NyxCC
I get up. I fly outside really fast and calm down. Dream goals... NyxCC I think, and look around the street, I see a figure getting into their car. I fly there quickly before she has a chance to drive off. I grab her hand before she gets out of the car. She is inches shorter than last time, and wider.
"Come with me, got somewhere to explore" I say, since she seems to be losing interest.
"Ok, I know where we are going, I have a way to get there. Just got to grab something fist." She walks around the car and disappears. Dang it. wake up.

      DEILD back. Enemy attacks again.

      DEILD back. NyxCC
I try to make it out of the house, but my dream body isn't working very well. I lay down and teleport out of the house. I see a lot of cars wrecked in the road. I notice that it is probably my fault, since I am standing right in the middle of the road. I realize that there is no one in any of the cars. Touché dream. I slow down... I try to think of a creative way to find her. I see a body in the wreckage and walk to it and see that it is just legs, not what you normally think of when you think "legs in wreckage", but more like a pair of legs that were made to be that way. On to option number 2, I turn to the sky and don't see what I am looking for, but there are plenty of clouds to conceal it. I decide to just head there. I send out a message to NyxCC on my phone to where I am going (I just touch the phone to send it). I think of where I am wanting to go and direct the wind that way. I start floating over there and realize that I need to fly faster and higher. I walk up a few steps and it sends me from about 5 mph (8 kilo/hour) to about 100 (160 kilo/hour) and about 100 meters up. I notice that I am not alone and I turn around to see NyxCC behind me flying along. She is flying like a DBZ character and looks back to her normal self (normal from what I have seen of her in dreams).

"Try and keep up!" I yell and speed up to double my speed. She flies above me and I turn around and fly upside down. She pushes me down and I start falling. I can see the water coming at me, smell the ocean. I keep going at that speed and pull myself up at the last second before I hit the water. I can feel the water splashing on my back and I lift my head up to the sky. NyxCC is a few inches away from me and smiling. She shoves me down again, but this time I fall into the water. I go down a bit and then float back up. NyxCC is laughing and I start laughing too. I imagine a small island behind me and start swimming towards it. It is a small floating child's playground. I climb on shore and step up to the playground. I try to imagine a ladder to the place I want to go in the sky, but can't seem to find one. I find a small place under a slide and try to imagine that it is a teleportation device. I make some buttons on the bottom of the slide and hit them. Nothing happens. I decide to just apparate and get there. I can see the place in my mind. I grab NyxCC's hand and turn, nothing happens. I imagine it in my head more and more and am in a limbo between both places. NyxCC's hand makes it more real back on the play-island. I try to do this about six times and it wakes me up on the sixth time.

    13. My longet lucid yet :D Zombie Dream

by , 07-03-2014 at 09:50 PM (sparkley guy dream journal)
      Non-Lucid Lucid

I heard about a zombie infectin, I instantly done a RC and it worked, I've been working on them alot yesterday, and I really wanted to have one, anyways, I became lucid and the lights were out, I looked at the lights and said "Lights on!" and they didn't work at first but I kept looking around and they were just on,I went to my kitchen and tested some jumps and I jumped high, I tried flying but still didn't work, I was thinking to do it outside to fly but I hate zombie, I looked outside my liivngroom window and saw these zombies chasing a guy, making scary noises, it was dark out there, I woke my mom up in the dream and she went to the kitchen, I said "mom, you're dreaming, do a RC" and she done it, and she was like "woah how did you do this?" (was watching inception the night before haha,) and i said "It's called sharhed dreaming, you are in my sub-conscience now, and I said, "look how I project kailyn's (my sisters) room, we walked in the hallway, and while I was going to show her, I tried to spawn a door, (didn't work) I showed her and it was different, while we were looking out, I was just happy that I was lucid for a long time, and I was just looking around happy, it started fading away but I saw my sister and her friends coming to the house and running, but there were no zombies, supposedly it was 12AM but I made it light out haha, I was scared I was gonna be a zombie and end the lucid dream, only because I got sprayed by bugspray, anyways, she came and I was just chilling in my sisterss room looking (IT LOOKED SO REAL), my mom went somewhere else, I went back into the kitchen to jump high, cuz that's the only power or something I can do haha, rather than change lights, I did another RC to actually confirm I was dreaming, and I felt more lucid then before, suddenly i was with darius (my friend) we all went outside for some reason and there was a couple zombies, I spawned a pistol in my hands and tried to shoot them, bullets didn't work, we opened the door again and then there were no zombies around except one laying down with his body chopped off in my yard, my cousin raigan had this big gun, so I spawned one, the sights didn't work so I just left it there, and in my neighbors driveway, there was this military truck and we were going to it, darius was trying to kill the zombie, so i helped, i stomped his head, grabbed a chain and whipped his head and he died, that's where it ended, it was one of my longest lucid dreams and I'm so happy that I was actually conscious in that
    14. Lucid, planes, Batman

      by , 07-03-2014 at 05:09 PM
I've finally made a success to my 3-year lucid dreaming drought. All I merely did was reality check a dozen times yesterday, drink almond milk, and eat a banana, and bam, lucid dream. Although they're not as vivid as my dreams were back then, this'll suffice.*

I was walking out of a bathroom stall (one that resembled a theatres) when something appeared odd, and I noticed an old friend, Courtney. I become lucid at this point, remembering to remain calm & not go overboard. Looking in the large mirror, try to observe my reflection and surroundings. I see myself, and it looks like me. I end up grabbing my friends face at some point (her cheeks) to get a full observation of what's going on. I eventually tried to open the bathroom door to see what was outside, but I neither remember waking up nor falling out of the dream.*

At some point in one of my dreams, a bunch of friends and I end up taking a plane out of my driveway. We can't go, since Shawntel is blocking it, but she moves out of the way. When I turn around, apparently it's only my sister and mom/dad in the tiny aircraft, and it's like we rented a private jet to visit dad in Africa. We're figuring out who's going to drive it, and I'm looking at the vacant cockpit were the pilot should be. It was too crammed to be a transportation plane.

Around this time I wake up, disappointed of my lucid dream. I try to sleep into another one, quickly seeing the Hugh Jackman Wolverine sitting in a cell with his claws out. I'm guessing it didn't work, since everything went black and I felt tingly. Soon, I AM the Wolverine, acting as an astral projection for Bruce Wayne as he sneaks through a factory. His sneaking methods awfully resemble Jensen from Deux Ex (since I've been playing it nonstop), and he appears to be hiding his identity. He sees me as his guide, trying to catch up to me as I end up changing my forms many times. After many metal ladders, we eventually fall into the factories' production: a huge river of marshmallow fluff. My form now being Morgan Freeman, I tell him: "Try it, Bruce! It's marshmallow." We continue our ride down this river, and eventually now I'm in the perspective of Bruce, as next to me is the female protagonist of the first Christian Bale Batman film (I don't remember the actress's name). She doesn't recognize me, but I eventually kiss her, where she says, "you kiss just like Bruce." We climb our way out of the river, completely clean and happy, and I make a call to Alfred to pick us up. I think she was fishing for something? She had a pet rat, or ferret that ended up using something to dig around with a tail-thing, and the pet ended up eating a beetle at the end of their rod.*
