    1. False Awakening to Father Room OST + MILD

by , 09-24-2014 at 10:28 PM (Inner World حلم Gamma Waves)
I am awoken from my brother presence as he enters in the room. That's when I begin to open my eyes as my father enter insides as well. My Father ask me did I not want any food? I began to pull off the covers. I began thinking that I probably won't get to go back sleep now. That's when my mother appeared and said yes I didn't want anything. I got up and had one of my arms up as if I done something really accomplishing. After that a false awakening occurred and I was lying down again without having my eyes open yet. I started thinking ah it was a dream but then I ask a question to myself, what if I am in a false awakening right now? That's when I started feeling my fingers and hands spiral out of control and my mouth became shut sort of like it suck inside it's own self making me unable to open it. I knew I was lucid, that's when I tried to open my eyes as the dream tried it's best to give me a nightmare. The pain was really bad as I could feel my arm attach to my stomach however I kept smiling and saying inside my head to keep going through the pain as I manage to get up from the bed. That's when my head was trying to turn around entirely backwards. My legs were crippling causing me a very difficult time to stand up. I began to say I'm walking on sun shine yea yea while laughing despite the pain and eventually chose to wake up before leaving the room. Lucidity Time: 46 seconds

The city of cool people at the end of the volcano (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was trying to go to a secret town, and I believe I was in a video game of some sorts because I was seeing the dream in third person during a scenario that involved the inside of a volcano, but the lava was purple and I believe it was poisonous. From here, the dream went back to first person. There was some sort of skeleton with a shield that was stalking me:

I was not afraid but I figured that I had no weapon I no way to fight it, so I just started to run avoiding the lava until I went through a big door and appeared in another room. Here there was a lot of lava, but now it was normal lava. At the very end, I saw a huge door that was made out of stones, but these were very cracked, so I figured that I needed bombs to shatter it, but I had none and I tried to look for an alternative. I saw a couple of big roman vases that had water on them, but the water was boiling and the vase was super hot:

I figured that moving the vases would help me proceed, but I did not try because I would burn my hands, as I figured that the vase was very hot in addition of very heavy (it was like 4 feet tall.)

I was able to find some secret entrance that took me to the woods. I explored the woods until I found a secret village. There were about 20 houses, each of them were next to each other making a square shape, and in the middle, there was a plaza. I figured that I needed to talk with certain people in the right order to be accepted there. I had memories of being at this place before and I was able to recall that, but i had no idea how to do it or whom to talk to. I tried to use my phone and Google for advice but I could not get my phone started. I believe it did not even turn on.

It seems that you needed to be cool to be accepted here, otherwise, you could get killed. I started to see some people coming out from there houses and they told me we had to party and figure out if I was cool or not. There were several tables with drinks and food (the plaza was empty earlier) The tables appeared to be pretty fancy:

There were also several speakers, huge speakers and very loud music. In a split second, there were lots of people dancing and having fun, so I got involved and started to have fun as well. There was a small black bee in the party as well, said bee did not sting anyone, but it was flying around and sometimes resting on people. The bee stooped flying and jumped onto my pants. I tried to ignore the bee to not loose my cool.

    3. Weird phone messages at the abandoned movie theater.

Weird phone messages at the abandoned movie theater. (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was with some friends and a female friend told me to go with her somewhere and that she would drive. I jumped in her car and right away we were at the place. While she was parking, she jumped of the car before it was parked and the car crashed by the wall. She also hit a bus and the bus flipped over by some bushes and trees that were at one of the corners:

There was a cop right next to us, but the cop did not seem to car. She grabbed the edge of the bus and lifted it, placing it on the wheels so it could be towed easily.

We went to a movie theater, but it was abandoned. Despite that, the chairs were in great shape and there was some soft music player. I believe that you could see stars also. We were sitting next to each other and see started to kiss me very softly. She told me she was in love with me.

I notice that the chairs were made out of letters and I had right in front of me a word that could read, "LESBICWORD" and I wondered why would it say that. There was also another strange word, but I was not able to recall it upon awakening.

She hugged me and kissed me more. I could feel a soft wind coming from a cracked wall. Also, her phone rang and suddenly, there was the voice of an automated system that said:

      - You need to accept the statement.
      - You are there, I do sense you.
      - This call can end, you can't hang up, you need to accept.
      - This is the 9th attempt.
      - Are you meditating?
      - Please do answer.

The automated system said these sentences a few times until I woke up.
    4. 8-Bit love story

by , 09-24-2014 at 05:42 PM (Lucid Time!)
The first part of the story was taking place in this midevil city guarded by a kindly dragon. The entire city was a castle built into a small mountain, and everything was 8-bit, like an old video game.
There was a story about two lovers who were really old and were not sure if they still liked each other. The man was really small and scrawny, at least at first and the woman was really big and fat.
The man said he was going to do something so that they could love each other again.
      ...
The man and the woman were talking once more, but the man was standing behind a counter. He then said that in order to love his wife he decided to get really huge and fat like she was, so he went to the market and bought ten live pigs, and killed and ate them all. He then stepped out from behind the crate and revealed that he was huge and fat like the woman. The woman was really happy for him.
      ...
Then something happened having to do with an evil wizard attacking the city. He cast a spell that made it rain miniature spears out of dark storm cloud. The man and the woman ran to go inside but because they were both so big and fat, they were both hit by spears and killed.
      ...
The story was a side quest in some kind of retro game that I was playing.

The story had some tie-in to me walking around my university and seeing the man from the story, but before he became fat. He was following me, asking me if I had seen the woman that he loved, and I told him I knew the story, but didn't know where she might be.
I think I ran into S while walking around as well.

    5. The building on the lake

      by , 09-24-2014 at 04:59 PM
A woman's looking over a small art collection - sketches of the building she's in from various earlier eras, collected in a large book. On the wall directly over the book is a recent painting of this same building, but showing it thousands of years earlier when there was a lake here, with the door opening directly onto the water. She finds this painting a little funny - unlike the historical sketches, she believes this one's a sort of what-if image. The building's old but it's not that old. But the man who commissioned the painting, the owner of this place, she's thinking of him as being oddly precise about where the lake should be in relation to the building; as far as she's aware there's no evidence that there was ever really a lake here at all. The title of the painting is Lake Hae or Hayle or something along those lines. Although the building in the painting and the building in modern times are identical, somehow in the painting it gives the impression of being someplace sacred.

She turns the pages of the book - she's careful with it, it's very valuable. After the sketches of the building there are a series of anatomical sketches and portraits. She's on a page showing several sketches of an old man, mostly bald and with a sort of rounded profile. As a disembodied observer, I'm fond of the sketch, sort of nostalgic about it - both about the subject and about the sketch itself. She keeps turning the pages, and there's a sketch of a young man with a very square jaw; looking at him changes the scene.

Still in the same room, but a couple centuries earlier; the walls are lined with bookshelves. There's a woman sketching, holding a conversation with a man sitting in a chair. A servant comes into the room - he's that young man from the sketch - and the man in the chair stands up to speak with him. A man all in black and with very long black hair, he's the same man who owned this building and that art collection in modern times.

    6. I'm not a witch, I'm an angel

      by , 09-24-2014 at 02:21 PM
I was dreaming about Harry Potter I was at Hogwarts and at one point I realized I must be dreaming and closed my eyes and reopened them. I kept telling everyone, "I'm not a witch, I'm an angel." I was with a group and we were on a high up roller coaster, it was terrifying. Then I separated myself from them after a female witch tried to talk to me and tried to get me to become a witch, but I lost her, and was outside and there was a staircase like the outdoor staircase in Pittsburgh, and someone said I'll find Damon for you because they thought I love him, but I said, "Aaron Dottle is my soulmate" and walked down the staircase and got away from them. I saw greenish purple round circular castles. I somehow found my friend Halley Katz and thought God said to the back of my mind, "Find someone you love". And me Halley and one other person smoked weed together in a dirt area under a bridge I think. One person smoked a joint and I smoked a bowl first I did it wrong put the bowl in my mouth then turned it around and smoked it right. I took two hits once with the lighter the first time it was already going so I didn't need to use the lighter. Then a person was trying to attack us. It was scary and there was much more to the dream I just forget about it. It was at the staircase that I became lucid, but I lost the lucidity later in the dream. I felt no affects from the weed, because I woke up right after smoking it.
    7. Camping In the Snow, Do I Have a Fever?, and Riding a Push Lawn Mower

      by , 09-24-2014 at 02:16 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I wrote down the words "Texas toast" and "3 sisters" in the middle of the night, but I remember nothing about it.

      ~

I was on a trip with my family and some extended family. I was sitting on a couch in a room. An ex-cousin (he was the son of my uncle's ex-wife) who in IWL was really mean to me when we were kids was there. I had a feeling he wanted to tell me he liked me and that he could now that we weren't family anymore, but I don't remember if he did or not. I was hoping he wouldn't.

Then, we were going to go somewhere in Oregon that had a warm beach (I don't think there's a warm beach anywhere in Oregon), but we had to camp in really cold and snowy parts of California to get there. I remember my brother being there with me. We were in the snow, and night was falling. You weren't supposed to be out of your tent at nightfall because it was dangerous, and because it would get way too cold. There were other people around camping as well. I believe everyone had separate tents. I was thinking about how it would get so cold, you'd have to really bundle up in layers before you got in your sleeping bag for the night. It's like there was a special way you were supposed to dress to sleep so you'd be warm enough.

We accidentally stayed out after dark. We were by an extinguished camp fire. All the sudden, this huge beast came out of nowhere and started to eat people out of their tents! The beast reminded me of Nunu from League of Legends (of course there's a League reference here ). My brother and I thought we were screwed; there was no way that beast wouldn't approach and eat us too. He then calmed down, though, and went into a tent to sleep. This was our chance to safely enter our tents without waking the beast. I grabbed mine and picked it up and started to carry it to a location further away from the beast. The beast then came out of the tent again. A speech thing appeared above his head that said "I'm starving!!!". He grabbed the person out of the tent next to him and ate him all in one bite. He then went back into his tent. Hopefully, we were safe now.

      ~

I was on break at work. I was taking my temperature with a digital thermometer. I put it in my mouth, highly doubting that I had a fever. I walked around and did a couple things while taking my temp. It beeped and I took it out to look at the screen. Wow! It said 111.12. Well, I guess I did have a fever after all. I touched my forehead and it was quite warm. I wasn't supposed to be working with a fever, but I didn't tell anyone yet.

I was then clocked back in at work. I was talking to someone else who worked there, a guy, who, when I think about it now, seems familiar but I can't remember who it is, about my fever. He then asked me which thermometer I used. There were 2 or 3 digital thermometers lying about, and one old school glass thermometer. I picked up one of the digital ones and gave it to him. He put it in his mouth to take his temperature. He put it under his tongue weird though, so I wasn't sure how accurate his would be. He was looking at my calendar that is on my wall IWL while he waited.

He then finished and gave the thermometer back to me. I took my temperature again. This time, I took it out, and it said 3.35. What? Maybe I didn't have a fever. Maybe I had been standing too close to the oven when I took my temperature before. Hmm...

I was then in the back with an old friend, Dakota. He was washing dishes. There were three different 3 compartment dish sinks back there, each used to wash a certain type of dish. I knew the deli used one as well. I don't remember the type of dish he was washing; it was some kind of white container-looking thing, and there were a lot of them. He was showing me how to do it, when to move it to another sink, etc. I wondered which one was the deli sink.

      ~

I was riding around on this red push lawnmower by holding onto the handle and standing on another part of the handle. I was outside of an apartment complex. I remember passing a black man whom I think also mowed the lawn before. I was going around the parking lot. I then went to the side of the building and pushed the mower into these long, clear plastic boxes that had plants around the outside of them. When I pushed the mower in, the plants would instantly become shorter and trimmed. Nothing fell off of the plants; it's like I would take the mower out, there'd be a short delay, and then part of the top of the plant would be gone. I kept doing in again and again in one box, making sure I got all the plants. I don't remember if I moved on to another box or not.
    8. Lucid playing with the dreamscape perspective

      by , 09-24-2014 at 12:54 PM (4th DJ-Attempt)
.../I'm staring at some sort of catholic rite, where a niece I never met in WL, is doing her confirmation (however it's said in English) in front of a very old Bishop or some high catholic authority specially dressed for the occasion, who can barely move his hands, sitting on a chair standing with its back to me. Somebody pushes a table between my niece and the bishop, and he's having problems to get rid off that. I find the whole scene funny. Then he stands up and start giving cakes to everybody, he turns towards me and throws to me a big piece of cake that I skilfully catch in the air still laying on my bed. I stand up and stare at some dreamscape about flowers (daisies?) that triggers my lucidity. I realize I'm on the roof of a building. I start moving jumping on the roofs, there's a guy who follows me wherever I go. I see him on the roof of a lower house, and asks me to be careful not to step on the floor, but on some structures to avoid getting my shoes stuck with some sort of glue. I'm upset because of I didn't mind to step on the floor in the first place, I think he doesn't have any idea about I know it's a dream and that I just want to get on the ground. I jump to another house, until I get to the ledge. It's a building of more than 7 floors. It's pretty high here. I can see the other houses from here. The ground is very dark, and the walls are white. It's a big open space surrounded by the houses. I want to jump straight down there, but I don't want the adrenaline rush of the fall if I don't get to properly fly. I remember, long ago I wanted to put my foot on the ground as I was a giant, from this higher point. I step on the ledge and visualize the whole scene as the floor is at my level. I want to step directly on it without falling. I step forward, but I close my eyes, hoping not to fall and to step on the ground. It works! Now I'm down here and I'm happy I got to this lucid-goal I failed to do long ago. I see the guy is running in front of me. For some reason, I call him "Siegfried" and laugh at it. I want to go to the toilet but I reject this idea because of I find it useless in a dream. I start running in stead, then start flying some centimeters above the ground. I want to leave this place, but I don't want to leave the guy alone. I think I will stay here. I turn and land on the ground, to find a commode or some, which is out there. I see some little stickers of ducks and remember something about them that I start looking at them, absorbed by the dream, I go on trying to put some order and wanting to take them with me/...

      * Unfortunately I didn't remember any of the TotM or lucid dares this time, and I didn't do the goal as it was meant to be done: With me standing as a giant on a sort of Lilliput town.

So I crawled once more into such bushes, as I had found the schoko bunny in last time. And there it was - maybe 30 cm in diameter white and golden, Roman numbers and with a ridiculously thin chain, like you would find it on a normal watch for the pocket.
While forgetting about it - I had unconsciously acquired a dress - so up I went out of the shrubbery and running over a meadow and shouting how I would be late.
I'm afraid I woke myself up with the latter - before any city was in sight. I might even have shouted for real.
      Sigh...
Well - next time the shouting will commence once I'm among people to scare and trample over.

I would also say, I have enough to do with my remaining three dares - soo - please block me for now ~Dreamer~! Thank you!
Yepp - that was that. We've got a visitor from Wales since two days - that's sort of an excuse for not doing more, almost nothing to be honest, this more or less just fell into my lap. Bit ashamed about that, the me..
I also remember normal dreams, but it feels right now that it would be a bit too personal to get deeper into that.

    11. Mon, Sep 22, 2014 / LUCID / Completed advanced tasks of the month

      by , 09-24-2014 at 02:10 AM
This dream felt awesome because I was experiencing kind of a dry spell for a week.

      Gaining Lucidity

I found myself sitting in my bunk bed at my dad's house, my sister was chilling beside me. I was feeling kinda disappointed because I thought I had failed the MILD I had attempted and also because I've been having poor dream recall.

But the I founded absurd that my sister was there, considering that a lot of times she is an actual dream sign. I did a RC, the one of looking and then looking away at the time, using my iPhone... And just like that... LUCID! Thank you.

I get out of bed, go through the door, and went directly to the balcony (of a 4 story apt) and I start flying around. I felt completely euphoric and the flight just felt so authentic, the wind, that feeling you get in your belly from jumping from high places and stuff. Really cool.

Advanced task of the month i

I remembered about the task and found myself again at my house (I later found out that I was at my mom's house this time, not my dad's) , I grabbed the first thing I found, which happened to be a broom, and used it as a wand. EPECTRO PATRONUM... and by a christmas tree that my mom has hidden somewhere, an OWL appears, a little one with a big head and big eyes!!! It looked awesome, and I felt like a wizzard or something lol

The owl looked something like this:
      seeing with closed eyes-cute-baby-owl.jpg

Advanced task of the month ii

Then I grabbed the broom I used as a wand, went through the front door (my mom's place is a 1 story house) and started flying like a witch... I was flying around town and remembered task ii, I did the first one, why not do the second one?

I see a basketball court beneath me, and close to it I see some houses! Just beneath me is an old, poor and abandoned house, I didn't go there because it probably didn't even have a toilet, plus I wanted it to have some people inside (specially some girls )

I land in front of a house, the door was opened and just by it I see a two-headed dog just standing there looking at me (probably the craziest and sketchiest thing I've ever seen).

I enter the house and I see a woman in like her 50's but looks kinda like a junkie or something like that. I see a bathroom prepared with two toilets to choose from.

Super mellow I start getting inside one of the toilets, a dark grey , square, retro looking toilet.

I get in and feel the cold water in my back. I flush and I feel myself doing a 360 degree turn very slowly, and getting wetter, and then everything goes dark. I stayed in that dark, wet place for a bit and then got out feeling accomplished.

      Having fun

Then I get out of the bathroom an look myself at a mirror for a long time, it just felt so real, I couldn't find one thing that wasn't as authentic as in real life. It is just so cool to look at yourself in a mirror within a dream...

I then headed out of the house, saw the old lady again and then saw some hot girls about my age, going in and out of the house talking to the lady and to some friends outside. I go where they are and then start having some fun with the hottest one, she at first started saying "noo" and giggling and that kind of stuff that girls do, but then I went like "this is my dream" and had some good old "fun" with her... the whole time I was having "fun" a guy friend of hers was talking to her, trying to get her attention and messing with me, but I ignored him.

Then I got out of there and found my mom's house again, I find my skateboard and started doing some tricks, it feels awesome to skate in dreams, I felt completely invincible and euphoric. I did some tricks inside my house and then I did a huge "kickflip" through the closed front door and over a long three set of stairs, landing super clean, it felt awesome.

Then I did some other stuff but gradually started losing lucidity, going from fully lucid to the point I started interacting with dream figures, as I was with real people, but woke up with fresh memory of the dream.

    12. My First Weird Lucid Dreams (Marijuana?)

      by , 09-24-2014 at 01:37 AM
Hello, I have two lucids dreams. to put in my journal and share with you all.
The first is pretty odd but short.

The day before the night I had the dream, I was biking back from a friends house, slightly toasted, .Anyway, I remember going down the main road on my bike, It was a gray sky, and I remember seeing a green Jeep go past me and thinking, Hmm that's a cool car.

Then, that night in my dream, the exact same thing happened. Then it occurred to me what if i'm dreaming. Then I thought of the possibility of a lucid dream. I got super excited and told my self to start biking faster and catching up with car. It definitely felt "Real" but when I got near the car black holes started to appear and I woke up.

I saw my literature book under my elbow, and the sky was nice and sunny. it couldn't have been earlier than 10 Am due to the position the sun was going through my window, I told myself holy shit, I just had a lucid dream, I can't wait to tell anyone. And feel back asleep.

Now whats really weird, is when I woke up again, the book was not even in my room, the sky was gray, and it was 8 24 am.

So I'm guessing I had a lucid dream, inside a regular dream? Because the 2nd dream didn't seem to have the same feeling as the lucid dream. and I definitely did not question if i was dreaming in that one.

Anyway, here is my second one, which lasted a lot longer.
(Sorry this is a long journal entry)

It has been about a month and a half since the dream I just told you about. Last night, I got somewhat baked again and meditated for quite a while. Practicing my chakras and yoga.

I went to bed and woke up in a dream. I was walking my dog down a long road. A road I am quite familiar with. I started to think. What If I am dreaming? I started to get tingly all around. The feeling you get before you go on a roller coaster. I told my self to try and fly. I concentrated. Low and behold I was flying maybe 3 feet of the ground about the pace of a jogger. It was crazy. What was weird was, my legs almost seemed to disappear, and I was just floating. I will admit there were occasional waves of fear. But the excitement kind of took over that. I started to walk again think HOLY SH!T, excuse my language earlier I am not too sure the rules on that,
I tried to fly again, but it wasn't working. So I took a jogging started and lifted off. The feelings were pretty dang realistic. I was almost numb, like my insides? but could feel everything. At the end of the road, my dad showed up and started yelling at my dog for jumping on him. It almost seemed like I lost the lucidity at that moment, because I couldn't seem or know to control things.

Well that's my first two experiences in this new awesome world. I'm just curious if anyone else experiences lucid dreams at a higher rate with Mary jane in your system. I hope no kids are reading this...
    13. Climbing Beanstalks, Getting Nowhere (NLD + DILD)

      by , 09-24-2014 at 01:18 AM
Ritual: WTB 1am, WBTB 4–6am. Plenty of hypnagogic imagery but hard to fall fully asleep, last noted time at 6:45am. Woke at 7:30 with dream as follows.

Alchemy: First experiment with phenylpiracetam, 100mg. Stacked with 300mg Alpha-GPC (50%), and 200mg L-Theanine. Took in first hour of WBTB (in retrospect, I think this was too early and interfered with sleep). In second hour of WBTB, drank yerba mate tea (this was also probably overkill, as it turned out).

NLD: I was in a big auditorium. No memory of what was going on there, but I was trying to climb a big pole in the center (maybe I was already prospectively thinking of Jack and the Beanstalk?) However, I felt weak and uncoordinated, and couldn't make it up very far.

Later, I ended up in conflict with a guy. He was lean and wiry, small-framed, with a short trimmed greying beard. He and my husband had been in tiny vehicles on an indoor track and this guy, for no apparent reason, started aggressively crowding my husband into the side of the track. I was so angry I chased him. He got off his vehicle and disappeared into the crowd. I kept watching his movements and followed up until I was finally able to catch up. At the last minute I wondered if I was really going to go through with my intention to beat him up when I caught him... and decided yes, he needed to learn a lesson. So when I got close enough I immediately threw a punch, dodged his return blows, and finally knocked him down to the floor.

He had a dream device on him—I took it to be his journal, but it resembled a long strip of chromed metal, several inches wide by about sixteen inches long, with some holes running along the center area. I took it away from him as a punishment. I wanted to hide it somewhere it would be hard to find, so I took it into the women's bathroom, where he presumably wouldn't think to look. There was an incinerator in there as well as a garbage can, but I decided that I couldn't destroy his journal, no matter how much I disliked him, because dreams are too important, even his. I just wanted to inconvenience him for a while, so I put the device in an inconspicuous shelf where I figured someone would come across it eventually. There were a lot of dream herbs and supplements on the shelf, apparently free for the taking, but I reminded myself that this was a public place and anyone could have tampered with them, so I'd better leave them alone, and stick to my own at home which I know are clean.

DILD: It was around this point that I remembered to RC and realized I was dreaming. My goal was to work on the fairy tale TOTYs. I had actually come across a sandwich bag containing a handful of Giant White Beans in my RL kitchen the other day, and thought that these would be ideal to plant outside to grow the beanstalks. So after getting lucid, I headed straight for the kitchen and grabbed the bag, then went outside to plant them in the little plots of soil that abut the wall of the house. I felt like I was rushing, but the dreamstate felt shallow and unstable so I was motivated to act quickly.

In the dream it was drizzling lightly, so the soil was soft and easy to work. I planted the beans by hand, three in the first plot, and then went to the next plot to plant three more. But by the fourth bean I realized that they might take a long time to germinate if I didn't hurry things along. Fortunately I had a plan for this. I had been meaning to work with the Ars Magica Form "Herbam" for a while anyway, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Would "Creo" or "Rego" be the proper technique for this case? I decided to go with "Creo" since I was growing the beanstalks from seed.

I held my hand over the soil where I had just planted the fourth bean and intoned, "Creo herbam." After a little concentration it readily responded, a thick sprout emerging from the earth. It didn't look so much like a beanstalk as a huge stalk of asparagus, at least six inches in diameter. I figured that would be okay, as it would turn out sturdier this way... and I like asparagus. I quickly planted the other two beans in the second plot, but the stalk was growing rapidly and was already a few feet tall. There were still two more beans in the bag but I decided to save them... what if I needed to plant another stalk to get back down? Jack probably saved a few beans if he was smart.

Remembering how much trouble I had experienced attempting to climb in the previous NLD, I came up with a better idea. While the stalk was growing past chest height, I grabbed onto it and let it lift me as it grew. I wondered if this would still count for the TOTY, but figured probably, in terms of altitude I was certainly climbing, even if the stalk was doing all the work!

We went up and up. I was waiting to reach some kind of surface or platform that I could step off onto. How did this go in the story? I don't think I've ever actually read the original, and started to regret that I hadn't done a bit more research, because it was hard to imagine what kind of solid ground Jack could have encountered at the top of the stalk. Did he step onto the upper surface of the clouds? Or was there some kind of floating island? I may have been overrationalizing, but it annoyed me that I couldn't remember how this was supposed to work.

The dream seems to have responded to my confusion, because the space around me became ambiguous. I had started outdoors but now felt like I was indoors again, still on the beanstalk, which was still growing. However, it was now "growing" through what was effectively a visual loop: I noticed the same attic space passing by again and again in front of my eyes, like a skip in a record. I attempted to wait it out but it just kept repeating, so finally I figured, okay, I'll take the hint, I'll get off here.

Around this point the dreamstate was feeling very thin and shallow, and my senses felt poorly integrated. I had to focus my attention for a moment on just on staying engaged in the dream. When this awkward passage resolved, I was back in a room that somewhat resembled my RL bedroom, only now the beanstalk seemed to be growing from the middle of the bed and burst right through the ceiling. I didn't have the impression that any giant was in the vicinity. Maybe I needed to climb it again? But the hole in the ceiling was only big enough to accommodate the beanstalk. I would have to widen it if I wanted to crawl through.

This reminded me of my separate and fallback intention to work on Hansel and Gretel if the beanstalk idea went awry. My new strategy involved breaking off pieces of a house and eating it, to encourage it to turn into the gingerbread cottage of the story. I reached up with my hand to tear a piece from the edge of the hole in the ceiling. It broke off easily in my hand like rotten wood. I took a bite: it has the texture of a dry crumbly cookie but not much flavor. I tried to conjure the taste of gingerbread but I don't notice much change. I went wandering through the house looking for a witch but there's no one else home.

There's a vague section here. I can't remember if I actually ended up climbing the first stalk to end up outside on the roof, or if I just walked outside to check on the other beanstalks, but at some point I am outdoors again, and I observe that the other beanstalks I planted also grew at some point but are now brown and withered. I can't remember what became of the first one, but evidently it couldn't get me any farther than the roof. Still no giants, but I see what looks like a higher platform on top of a neighboring building. I break off a length of one of the dead stalks and try to use it to pole vault myself up onto the platform. It gets me almost to the top but not quite.

Occupying the center of the wall leading up to this platform is a very tall bookshelf, only about three or four feet in width but running all the way up to the top of the thirty or forty foot wall. After my second or third attempt to pole vault up, I realize that I can't make it all the way to the top using this method, so I get off on one of the uppermost shelves. I don't think I can finish the climb directly from here, but I have another idea. My weight is already destabilizing the bookshelf, pulling it down and me along with it, so I realize that I might be able to use the rebound effect to launch myself onto the platform. As the top of the bookshelf sinks all the way down to ground level, I climb over the top and position myself on the back of the shelf (which is level with the ground and facing up after the bookshelf has fallen all the way down). I anticipate that the whole shelf is going to rebound back into its original place, and sure enough it does. Using the force of its rebound, I jump off when I'm near the top and finally make it up onto the platform... when the dream ended.

Note: Although I managed to get a fair amount done despite adverse conditions, the dreamstate was low quality throughout. I stayed up during the WBTB about twice as long as I had originally intended, which meant I took the supplements way too early so that they were actively inhibiting sleep by the time I returned to bed, and drinking the caffeinated yerba mate on top of that was evidently a mistake. But it is hard to argue counterfactuals because sometimes if I don't overdo it, I don't get lucid at all, so it's always a tricky balancing act.
