    1. Lucid DC help me to put on my shoes

      by , 10-01-2014 at 01:48 PM (4th DJ-Attempt)
      False Awakening, Lucid

.../I woke up in our current apartment, when I have some issues with one of my teeth. It's moving and after I while it falls out. I think it's bad because of it's one of the front side. I look for a mirror to see how bad is it looking. I don't see much difference. It's not that bad after all I think. It looks like a candy mint. I'm sitting on my bed thinking perhaps it was better to happen when I feel another tooth moving. I remember it uses to be a dreamsign! The first thing I do, look fot the tattoo. It's completely distorted this time, no need for more questions. It's wonderful, the place looks so real. It's around noon. I start spitting the pieces of teeth I have in my mouth when I remember it's a useless thing to do, because it never ends. I stop doing it, it's hard because of the amount of pieces there and I try to remember some lucid goal while start to take a walk in the apartment. I see our shoes on the floor, when it comes to my mind PercyLucid's dare! I find the perfect pair of shoes for this task, my beloved shoes from the old days. I take them and go to the balcony to look for my wife to ask her to help me. I know she's there because of it's summer like dreamscape and she uses to study there during those days. She's there, I give her the shoes and ask her to help me to put them on. She looks to me very tender. I sit on the chair, and she put my first shoe on. It's a little bit difficult to put, but finally I have it nicely adjusted to my right foot. Now the another one, I see some laces are inside of it, but I don't care. The same, it takes a little until I have it perfectly adjusted to my foot. I realize there's a stereo recorder on a table and some music is playing in the background. I recall the good feelings of the old days, and I'm very happy to see her again in a dream this way. I give her a sweet kiss before I go inside the apartment to remember some other task to do. The music sounds great! I turn the volume up with my mind. The music is wonderful! I feel very happy, when I get into the apartment, trying to remember some other task. No other idea comes to my mind but the feeling of how much I love her. I stand up, and want to give her a warm hug thinking to myself I do love her. When I turn to get back, she gets upset into the apartment, saying something about our neighbor is going to rise our bill for electricity consume for this month because of the music. I get upset with that guy, thinking to myself for who the hell thinks he is to bother her. I see him on the next house working on his hanging garden. Then I turn to see to the front of our house, there's a huge park. I want to go there/...

      * Unfortunately the alarm clock goes off and I have little time to take some notes which I take the opportunity to post in the Lucid Dares thread. The riff is still playing in my head. I make some voice recording to catch it. I went to work hearing it for a while.

    2. Three Lucid Opportunities In One Night! But Unable To Lethalize My Lightning Storms

      by , 10-01-2014 at 12:28 PM
      From the Lucid Dares thread:

...Meanwhile I undertook further vain attempts at lucid dying last night..

Seems I have a wet patch! No innuendo this time, but I got lucid, sort of, three times last night. First time I let myself be fooled into thinking, it wasn't a dream after all, second time woke me up almost immediately - but I was prepared for the third time.
      And for killing myself.

It started with a scene, that should have creeped me out, but didn't. There was something like a woodpecker-toy high on my shelf - not sure, if you know what I mean - a wooden bird on a spring and when you bend it back, it starts hacking away at the base it's mounted on.
It was the size of a dove, though, and started hacking all on it's own, like in a poltergeist movie, where toys turn vicious. But I was just curious and took a look. That was a hint at surreality already, I must have levitated to get that close a look. Suddenly it started hacking away at an angle and left the base and then I did find it a little creepy. But the insight that this really should be a dream came quite fast. And this time I did an RC, not just scanning about for inconsistencies like the first time. Yepp - lucid. First of all I looked out of the window into the night and summoned my lightning storm - worked great, but again it was a silent one. Same as back then with my meteors, completely silent impacts. I read somewhere that it might be a natural security measure not to dream acoustical uproar which could drown out dangerous real life noises and one won't wake up. Makes sense.

Anyway - out the window I flew and in high hopes for disaster.
I did something which I never tried before - rolling on my back in mid-air and hovering there as if supported by an invisible cloud. There was lightning going on directly over me - but the bolts didn't come down. I only saw flickering light-points, where they seemed to start touching down, but they never did. Shame, I didn't think of Hukif's lovely galaxy dare then. It could have worked from there - I felt a bit like lying on my back on the floor of a planetarium gone mad in overdrive - watching stars dance about hectically. Quite beautiful, but also non-lethal to my dismay.

So I thought - okay - falling wasn't meant to be my cause of death, but lets at least try something.
And I just dropped. I wasn't afraid, because I went down still looking into the sky and didn't see the ground rushing up at me. Yeah - but it also didn't really work - I landed spread-eagled but without any pain and sort of softly. I felt a bit of impact, but that sure as anything was no suicide. And I wasn't a cat, either.
I'm going to keep at it, though! I really, really want to get hit, dammit!

I guess, I'll soon deserve a badge for most prolific lucid lightning produceress, if I go on like this - need to count how many times I tried it already...

Nicely enough I had a bit of dreaming time left even after that, but I didn't try for dares any more then. No clue what graced my night with three opportunities; it would be more productive, informative, if I could say I had worked on it, or took something - but nope - out of the blue.
      __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________

Second time of my life to get lucid several times in one night - first time was four short LDs during the comp, while I did daytime work and was regularly and rather extensively journalling.
First instant from last night wasn't really lucidity - it was me suspecting, and strongly, that I was dreaming by noticing inconsistencies, like not being able to look out of a window. The view was just exactly like my optical problems in lucids, which are thankfully getting less bad and less common lately. But I was silly enough to really concentrate on the view instead of RCing and when it finally fell into place I concluded it wasn't a dream after all.
As said above - the second one was lucidity but I woke up directly after the insight.

      Plus - I identified a new dream-sign: coloured pencils!
Last night it was the fourth time I'm aware of that such a thing appeared completely out of context. I was walking along in a park, and found one lying on the ground. High quality looking and a beautiful dark red - so I snatched it up and took it with me to the amusement of my company.
"You really can't resist collecting trash, now can you?"
Ignorance I say to this - there are treasures to be found in trash more often than one might suspect!

    3. More Broken Recall and Brief Lucid

by , 10-01-2014 at 03:41 AM (INeverWakeUp's Super Dream Journal)
Well my recall has still been pretty broken recently which sucks. I've also realized I've lost a lot of motivation to post DJ entries because of this. However I am going to try and post entries daily again if possible. It's hard to balance school, work and a social life as is...so solitary time is my first sacrifice which means less internet and video games, both of which I love a lot. But hopefully things will improve soon.

But anyway, all I can remember is having a very brief lucid last night and abruptly waking up from it. I've had a suckish trend of waking up about 20-30 minutes before my alarm every morning and I hate it. So hopefully that will stop, but at least I had a lucid! I hope next time it'll be longer and I'll remember a lot more!
    4. Laughing Old Man

      by , 10-01-2014 at 12:39 AM
I was staying at a hostel run by nuns. This nun came up to me and offered clean sheets for my bunk bed. The nun had eyes full of expression and life, and the whitest skin. I went back to my bunk to make my bed, only to find this old man sleeping there with the sheets over his head. He had my sleeping bag all bunched up around his feet. I didn't mind that he took my bunk, but I wanted my sleeping bag back, so I grabbed onto it and started to tug. The old man woke up! I then backed up a couple of steps. He said to me in a deep Italian accent, "You're dreaming." I looked at him and said, "What?" He said, "You're dreaming!" I thought I was hearing things, and I must have earplugs in. I reached up into my ear and pulled an earplug out. It felt like I had another earplug in there, so I pulled out a second earplug from the same ear, and then a third, etc., until there was small pile of earplugs on the ground. I then realized, he's right, I am dreaming! I'm Lucid! I immediately pointed my finger at him and said, "I caught you!" (telling me I'm dreaming). He looked shocked and back away from me in his bed. I then realized just how hilarious the situation was, staring down at the pile of earplugs, and I started to laugh uncontrollably. I jumped up on the bed and sat beside him. He too started to laugh uncontrollably in his deep voice. He then sat up in bed, while we continued to laugh uncontrollably. His body started to glow, and light was bursting out all around him. I then woke up from my Lucid dream. I sat up in bed and continued to laugh.

    5. 015:

by , 09-30-2014 at 10:44 PM (Tides of Sleep)
Notes: I've been having lucid dreams very frequently since eating shit on bike this summer and concussing myself. These almost always occur just after falling asleep and usually end with the sensation of choking, resulting in waking up. I also almost always drool during these events.

      ---

I appeared, quite suddenly, in a long metallic looking hallway glowing with a strange red tint. I perceived that this was representative of some distant war fire.

In reality, I had just sent my friend a Facebook message before suddenly falling asleep. Instead of focusing on the still empty hallway I thought about that for a minute, then turned my attention to my physical body, which felt numb. I could feel myself drooling. Realizing I was lucid dreaming, I decided to stop wasting my time focusing on external factors and focus on the dream.

My first thought was to dream about fighting off a horde of baddies. A bunch of grunts wearing steel helmets and lamellar armor appeared. An axe appeared in my hand. I started to fight.

At first, I couldn't move quickly. Something in my mind was holding me back from fully controlling the dream. I thought "no, move faster" repeatedly until eventually, my dream self could move full speed.

My brain continued to try and derail my lucidity. At one point I conjured some fat dude in office attire to grab me and pull me away from the action. After thinking, very purposefully, "fuck off" a few times, he did so. Almost immediately after that, the part of my brain that wants to confound me conjured my dad and tried to turn my lucid dream into a nightmare.

He was being attacked by several grunts, his hand reaching out to me from between a door crack. I knew my dream was going to have him killed. I threw my axe and stayed one grunt, the other disappeared. My dad lay bent over unnaturally over a couch, I could tell part of my brain was waiting for me to interpret his figure as dead.

"Nope, he's fine," I thought. Dad sprung back up, totally untouched.

At this point, I started to feel the choking sensation and knew I wasn't going to be able to remain asleep. I felt like I couldn't breathe. The dream swirled out of focus. I began to hear my physical body making a choking noise. I woke up and breathed. My pillow was covered in drool.
    6. The rose garden, aiming and missing

      by , 09-30-2014 at 08:51 PM
After going lucid and abandoning the storyline I'd been in, I'm walking to a simple full-length mirror leaning against a wall. I focus on my intended destination - the rose garden, a meeting place. As I place my hands through the glass, I lose all visuals. My hands sink into the glass as far as my wrists, but no further. The 'hole' beyond the surface of the mirror that acts as a portal isn't open enough. I can feel jagged edges against my right wrist, as opposed to the heavy liquid-like feeling of the portal. It's like I've broken open a hole in a frozen lake. I stay focused on the destination and mentally dig at those edges until they give.

I can feel a wall of thorns all around me so that I can't move. I still have no visuals, I think of this as between scenes. I'm annoyed at myself - this is the barrier around the garden, I shouldn't have had to deal with this at all. It was an error in focus, thinking about roses and sharp edges. I try to correct my focus but find myself waking up.
(Though it wound up being a false awakening. Visuals returned when I 'woke up.')
    7. Doctor Who-Themed Dream Fragment

by , 09-30-2014 at 05:03 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary written while awake]

I'm in an episode of Doctor Who that takes place in a big, artificial, vertical column that connects the center of the earth with outer space. I am the current companion, but I'm still me. The conflict in the episode centers around whether or not to set off a bomb at the bottom of the shaft that will blow up the Earth. Different characters present convincing arguments for both setting it off and not setting it off. The Doctor and I, of course, are trying to stop it from being set off. Also, there's a time loop, so we get to go back to earlier in time and get a second chance at stopping it from being set off. At some point [I think during the second loop], I become lucid and enjoy the experience. At the top of the shaft, which is in space, I have to jump through empty space and through a small, circular hole to get into an enclosed space that has air. It's a little scary, but I make it.

[This was a pretty cool dream, and I wish I could remember it in more detail.]
    8. If I Was High

by , 09-30-2014 at 04:09 AM (Xanous' Dream Journal)
      #366 - DILD - 2:15AM

My memory is bad on this one but its a dry spell breaker.

I am laying in bed trying sleep and I have some strange thoughts thinking about when I was in high school I would get high and eat something and then sleep like a baby. I wish I could do that now. I sigh and roll over. I notice my body feels very light causing me to recognize that I am in a dream. I become lucid and think I have entered SP very early in the night. I struggle to move and exit but I think I lose lucidity or just have an FA.

I don't recall much here but I know I was chatting on Skype with OpheliaBlue, CanisLucidus, and Dreamer about lucid dreaming. Maybe it was more of a memory, but I regain lucidity because of and enter some more SP sensations. I am really close to getting the past this, but something smacks into my back and I think someone has woken me up, ruining my "WILD".

I am at a very strange version of work and I think that I have only been asleep for an hour. The dream ends.

    9. 09/29/2014 - Fragments: Untitled, "Decisions, Decisions..."

by , 09-30-2014 at 02:18 AM (Oneironaut Zero: Dreamwalker Chronicles)
      09-29-2014
      Fragment One
      Untitled

A bunch of friends and I were hanging out in my old garage. Eventually, we got into doing acrobatics, and I came to find out that I was able to do some pretty insane moves. It seemed as if I were defying gravity as I easily landed aerials, b-twists and all kinds of other flips and spins. I began to wonder about how I suddenly had these skills but was not able to become lucid.

      Fragment Two
      "Decisions, Decisions..."

I was in a classroom or workshop (or something), and my roommate was there. There was a lot of commotion going on, and I remember my roommate vaulting over a desk. It turns out that we were about to be invaded and attacked by some sort of evil horde, though I can't remember who (or what) they were. My anxiety turned to excitement, as I realized I was dreaming. My mind raced to try and remember what it was I wanted to do, but I was being distracted by the impending chaos around me. I remembered the experiment, and what I needed to do...but I also wanted to fight. The idea of a coming invasion made me absolutely giddy in my lucidity. Deciding that (just maybe) there was a chance that I could get back to my primary objective, after having a little fun, first, I decided to hold off on my experiment and focus on the inevitable battle.

Unfortunately, that's all I can remember. What a waste!

    10. Not Quite Movie Night

      by , 09-29-2014 at 04:03 PM
      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #241: Not Quite Movie Night

I wander into a still-lit movie theater and see my cousin “SU” sitting next to one of his close college friends on his right, his two children on the left. How cool that they’re here! I’m looking forward to joining them for the movie, and the positive emotions remind me of dreaming, making me lucid.

Even though I’m lucid, I still want to walk down and join them for the movie just the same. As I’m about to head down, though, I realize that I’m not wearing a shirt. This bothers me, so I turn around, expecting to find a shirt on the seats behind me.

And there it is, a black polo shirt! Unfortunately, there’s also a discarded condom lying next to it. It doesn’t look obviously “used” but still, eww. I force-push it away with a wave of my hand and it sails out of sight. Unfortunately, even though I don’t physically touch it, I still feel it slap the back of my hand. Gross, glad that’s over!

I grab the shirt and put it on over my head. It’s getting hung up on my big head and just generally twisting around and seeming to go on forever no matter how much I pull it down. I remember my intent to perform a Task of the Month with Dreamer and start getting really antsy that I’m stuck doing this silly errand instead.

I address Dreamer, saying something like, “I can’t believe this! I’m really trying to find you!”

I flail around in the shirt and Dreamer’s voice responds: “Relax, stop struggling…” Yeah, she’s right… I relax my mind and put my arms up in a confident show-off pose and the shirt slips right on! The theater is still the same, but feels a little less stable now. I lunge for the back of someone’s seat, feeling a little worried about how stable the scene is, and the dream darkens into the void.

I open my eyes and see a dresser with a strange shape on it. Even closer to me is Wife, the two of us lying on our stomachs, facing one another during the nap. (I’m still dreaming, but this is precisely how we fell asleep together for this nap.) Wife looks completely lifelike, but I know I’m still dreaming and that this is a false awakening. I try to move my left arm, but I can’t... my mind has even simulated REM atonia! I marvel for a moment at the deadened feeling of my left arm before attempting an OBE-style roll out of my body. The dream doesn’t hold together through this, though, and
      I wake up.
    11. Baking (confusing awakening)

      by , 09-29-2014 at 12:48 PM
Today, I had a strange lucid during one of the first REM periods of the night and I didn't record it well in my dream journal. I had done some MILD affirmations before falling asleep, so maybe this helped.

I was at a baker's, making cakes to sell. The feeling was strange. I had a spark of lucidity, I knew I was dreaming, but at the same time I felt like I was waking up. Without opening my eyes, I tried to hold on to the dream so I would get back in it again (kind of like a DEILD, but the thing is that I'm not even sure if I was awake or the spark of lucidity made me feel awake). The dream seemed pretty stable and I went on doing my thing, but I didn't take much control of it. Soon afterwards, it either transitioned into a non-lucid directly or I awoke for real, I don't really remember.

    12. Repeating High School (Lucid*)

      by , 09-29-2014 at 12:41 PM
      25th September 2014

I stood on the Matric lawn at the front of my old high school, conversing with old friends about the frustratingly depressing news.
Schools curriculum had changed and it was now mandatory that everyone was to complete an extra 5 years on top of the initial schooling we already had.
Being irritated and confused with the entire situation i decide to walk around the side of the old bei brick assembly building toward the tuck shop.Standing next to the Rugby field stands I noticed an old scholl friend hobbly past in a jester like fashion

"What a minute,I'm not at school anymore!", finally catching one of my most common dream signs. The usual excitement washes over me, and I can't seem to remember any tasks or stabilization techs for that matter.
I decide to pace walk up the narrow corridor where i pass many students, recognizing their faces somewhat.

I must have lost lucidity fairly quickly thereafter, as i can't seem to recall the rest of the dream.
    13. Hello, Random Helpful Guide Character...

by , 09-29-2014 at 11:56 AM (Lucid Time!)
There was some nightmare about the military who had shot a kid riding a dirtbike. I didn't want to look at the scene. My friend's parents were involved somehow.
      ...
I am in a classroom, but it feels like I am also in K's house. Everyone is turning in essays but one student just turns in a paper with sharpie written on it that says something like 'I will turn in my essay tomorrow.' Everyone in the class thinks it is funny, even the professor. But he says he is still going to give that student a bad grade.
The professor then rolls down a screen, and says that we are not doing class and simply having a movie day. The movie: some alien invasion movie where giant human body parts fall to earth. The movie is supposed to be really scary and I 'remember' not liking it. But I have to watch it for a grade, it has something to do with what we are learning in class. I might as well at least try to enjoy it. The professor says we can move anywhere in the room, so I decide to sit on the floor in the back of the room.
I sit down, and the opening credits roll. They show the alien invasion that happens through a bunch of severed human body parts. Legs, Arms, Hands, Heads, etc. They are all orbiting in a big vortex above earth. The professor asks some question about how this relates to some kind of art or something.
Then, who I could only assume was Manei entered the dream. After seeing her (my dream guide) for three years, I can sort of sense her energy, so to speak. But her energy felt off. I couldn't pinpoint what. This didn't feel like Manei.
Regardless, the dream went partially lucid.
This character said that she too thought the movie was scary and wanted to be with someone. She put her arm around me. Then hugged me.
While this was happening, I started to feel her energy. A lot of warmth and love. I was actually trying to figure it out. Was I dreaming? Who was this? If this wasn't my regular guide it was somebody who felt very similar. Whoever it was, it was a very good feeling. I wished that she would hold onto me for the entire movie. She fell asleep. Then I started to feel sleepy.
We then both fell over onto the floor, and the dream went wonky.
Everything went blue, and I was in a void filled with a blue cloudy energy. I was OOB, of course.
"Hello. I am p4qRo8y5 (something or other, not Manei). I am here to ask you permission to have spiritual intercourse (sex) with you."
A blue and white hologram of certain sexy things appears in front of me during this question. It fades afterwards. I feel no need to describe them, I don't feel like using a spoiler tag today. Just let your imagination run wild.
"What... NO! I don't know who you are!"
She doesn't seem to care that I said 'no'. I don't even know why I said 'no'. I guess I just thought of the last time I had sex with a dream guide and things got very, very weird.
Anyways, this character, probably a guide, starts talking very fast. She is partially speaking in a language of thoughts and ideas, rather than spoken words. I've talked to Manei and some other DCs before. It's supposed to be faster than talking.
This object appears as a hologram in front of me. It was supposed to be some kind of visual aid for what this guide was saying, but it makes no sense to me.
How did you find your way to this forum?-strange-visual-aid.jpg
"...Recently there was a spiritual rise in consciousness that caused many people around you to become more aware and awake. You, to some extent, but not the full extent did this as well ..."
The waveforms coming from the side of the shape increase. The circles begin to glow in small clusters.
She carried on about a bunch of other stuff I really couldn't care about. I don't remember anything else of what she said, but she talked for a solid minute at light speed while I looked at the diamond thing.
"... I am aware you are involved in dreaming, perhaps having some troubles with it. The problem is that you try to resolve everything with logic and reasoning, when in reality the secret to dreaming is creativity and happiness, the exact opposite. Don't feel bad for it, it is the way the human mind and society is structured. Now, tell me winch one of these jokes you find funniest."

Two jokes are presented to me as what I can only describe as very poorly animated flash movies. In the first movie, a couple of teenagers are sitting around the table. Then, a large anthropomorphic rooster shows up. But it's like not a typical rooster. It has this large cerraded beak and big buggy eyes. He then says "I've got alottt of math homework!", emphasizing the word 'Alot' in a strange way. The scene cuts back to everyone sitting at the table and they all have rooster heads.

In the second joke a boy is standing by a window. There is a city moving by outside so I can only assume he was in a mobile home. There is an Ipod on a speaker rack, and a girl walks by and turns it on. Rock-Metal instrumentals start playing. The window flies open and a flowerpot flies into the boy's face, then out the window. Some dirt is left on the boys face. "Lisa! What did I tell you about playing metal music in the house?!" The boy has a rooster head when he says this.

How did you find your way to this forum?-amazing-rooster-head.png

I then remember seeing a view, something like a you tube page with a whole bunch of these 'jokes' playing at once. Many of them have the rooster head involved in some way. One of them has this woman with these very ugly, scary looking lips. Oh god, please don't play that one.
      "So..."
"Um... Neither of them. Those were not even jokes. Just random visions. ._. "
I get a dream glitch and go backwards very quickly through the scenes in the dream. I am back at the hologram of sexy things. I am then back in the classroom and the movie is still playing. I am then back outside and the military is stopped and looking at a turned over dirtbike.

      I wake up.

Upon waking, I would say that the first animation was funnier.

'The problem is that you try to resolve everything with logic and reasoning, when in reality the secret to dreaming is creativity and happiness, the exact opposite.'

This is very quote-able. I should make this my signature.

This was kind of funny and new: The dream didn't go my way, and suddenly I got aware of the fact, that I am already aware that it is a dream. I tried to will a person to come back by concentrating. Only when that didn't work did I really get lucid then. And optics were very nice - hence I more or less just wandered about where I was - a street with pre WW1 houses with little gardens up front and trees.
But before walking away I turned round to see, what the plaque at an entry-way said, because before getting lucid I had read a name there. And the name was still the same upon looking again, but after first reading instantly started to morph in my direct sight - to a string of numbers finally.
Bit sad I didn't get to do something - it ended in a white-out, optics disappearing slowly from the edges.

      This was number 60!!

    15. Second Half Of Percy's Dare Gone Orgy - Weird Other Stuff

      by , 09-28-2014 at 03:33 PM
Too lazy to record my other dreams, but it was a very colourful night again, riding camels through Bavaria, where Israeli Shekel were suddenly the currency, and in dream I thought they belong to Egypt. I actually thought, I would suddenly remember that Bavaria has a border with Egypt and how practical camels would be in the mountains...
Endless rows of old women with trolleys, selling flee market things out of them, some sort of criminal story, with girls getting abducted, and me having myself abducted, too, to help them. Didn't do any good - some naughty stuff happening instead.

Aanyways - I journal because I got lucid on a street, and I hadn't even planned for that, but in dream I remembered, that I had still not done really everything for Percy's dare without shoving and "trampling" people while manically shouting I would be late.

So I did that, without the clock this time - kicking and shouting and shoving people, didn't know how to accomplish "trampling" them without knocking them out, and that seemed too drastic somehow.
Most didn't react initially, some looked really annoyed, but didn't fight back. Quite the opposite - throwing myself into a thick throng of people lead to - well. To what bodily contact in lucidity almost always leads with me...
In the end it was an absolutely overwhelming street orgy - all I could see were people in various states of undress and action, so when in Rome...
Woke up pretty wired from that - but didn't wake up "too early" this time - that's a new one, actually.
