    1. 9-28-14 The cat defies gravity

      by , 10-02-2014 at 06:24 PM
A man in a cartoon was killed by various sentient industrial-grade film cameras.

My sister and I were playing hide and seek in our house. Instead of stairs, we had holes in the floor with ladders.

As I was looking, I was walking backwards for some reason. I abruptly turned around, and just inches from my face there was a black cat, standing on its hind legs leaning out over the edge of a table, absolutely motionless. It's mouth was wide open, and it stared fixedly at me with yellow eyes.

Then I found my sister. It was my turn to hide. I hid in a closet. When she found me she was incredibly sad, and her eyes were red and wet. She had had an enormous mood swing.
    2. 9-27-14 World War V

      by , 10-02-2014 at 06:19 PM
I lived in the country during World War 5. One of my friends had a job as a mail carrier, and she hated it because she has bad knees.

I was riding down a road on the back of a flat-bed pickup with a bunch of noisy teen boys. They were all carrying rocket launchers and machine guns and grenades and stuff. As we drove down the interstate, we would occasionally drive passed a big billboard. At that point, the boys would all jump off, run up to the sign and just DESTROY it with their weapons. Pretty epic.
    3. A Big Fly Crawls From a Small Pipe and Bites Me

      by , 10-02-2014 at 04:02 PM
Optimized 1 minute 45 second read.

      Thursday morning, 2 October 2014.

A Big Fly Crawls From a Small Pipe and Bites Me

      Dream # 17,454-02.

I am in the bathroom of my current real-life home. I recall I need to replace a tap spindle because the shower’s hot water does not turn off completely. (In reality, the spindle threads had worn; the handle turned without tightening.)

I focus on an area near the ceiling where a small pipe capped with a bolt juts diagonally downward. (The feature does not exist in reality.)

Something undetermined inside the pipe, seemingly alive, is slowly pushing out the bolt. It turns out to be an unnaturally big green bottle fly doing this. It emerges after it pushes the bolt out. (There is no backstory implying how it got inside the pipe.)

The fly painfully bites the middle of my right forearm, which I assume may be fatal. Without emotion (because of dream state intuition), I sit at the foot of our bed to wait for Zsuzsanna.

An unfamiliar man of about 40 (this dream’s protoconsciousness) sits in our lounge room. I do not perceive him as an intruder. I think he might be here to help me with either the plumbing or my presumed medical emergency (even though such an immediate response would be impossible in reality), but he does not react.

Upon waking, I realized my dream’s pain was an exaggeration of “pins and needles” caused by uncomfortably sleeping on my right arm. (I often sleep on my left side, unlike here.)

A life form emerging from somewhere, especially an enclosed area, correlates with my anticipation of exiting the dream state. It is as simple as that.

The fly (somatosensory anticipation from neuronal energies increasing) emerges from the pipe (REM atonia decreasing through spinal neurons).

There is an additional association with achieving arm and hand mobility and strength because I swat at annoying flies in real life. My dream’s beginning exemplifies REM atonia by focusing on a tap handle unresponsive to a hand tightening it.

If you still do not understand dream content causality, review the following:

I am uncomfortably sleeping on my right arm. REM atonia (natural immobility while sleeping) is also a factor here.

The dream state responds to this by presenting a situation where using my right arm (to tighten a tap) is infeasible.

Spinal (to the upper end of the “pipe”) motor neurons (“buzzing fly”) increase my awareness of my wrongful sleeping position until pain (“fatal” fly bite) becomes the predominant focus.

Sitting at the foot of our bed in the last scene demonstrates metacognition as a precursor to wakefulness.

    4. Another College Fail Dream, and Dallas's Bagels

      by , 10-02-2014 at 02:05 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I had some college courses I had signed up for, 4 or 5, but had only gone to a few classes. I was trying to recall the last time I attended class. I wanted to drop them, but it may have been too late in the semester and I was going to have to fail them. I had someone that I was with look on a computer at my grades for me because I was too embarrassed to. I don't think there were any failing grades, strangely. but I kept thinking about missing tests and how that had to affect it. I then thought about the teachers calling roll every day and my name still being on the roll because I hadn't dropped the class yet.

      ~

Dallas was ordering food. He got a sandwich and a bunch of everything bagels, some in a bag and I think he was carrying one. I was thinking about how that couldn't be healthy for him to eat so many bagels. I wasn't hungry, but I had food too. I went to go into this room that was supposed to have a long table and some chairs in it to eat on, but looking through the window, I saw a bunch of small desks and chairs in two vertical lines. No one was sitting in them. I opened the door and saw there was a teacher in there, a young man. I suppose he was getting ready to test his class or something. We still wanted to sit in there and eat, and he seemed ok with that. He then asked me to hang him a croissant. He pronounced it very French-like. I was looking around for them but didn't see them immediately. I then saw a plastic container with some slightly overdone croissants in it. I handed him one. I then sat down.
    5. Roller coaster at college

by , 10-02-2014 at 01:25 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was having some dream about walking around my university. I was standing outside the student center, kind of the main building of my university. There is an amusement ride going around the lake in the back of the center. It is some kind of roller-coaster only it doesn't go above ground. It just makes use of the terrain. Also, there is only one car, that holds four people.
I watch it go on a cycle and think about how fast and jolty the ride looks. It does not look like fun. But of course there is some DC telling me that I am a big baby for not going on what would be a rather mild ride. He says he is going to ride it. But the dream characters on it seem to be having a great time. On the second cycle it ends up coming off of the rail and rolling into the lake. Lucikly, the safety harnesses come loose and the people swim safely to shore.
Karma for that guy who called me a baby.
I walk off and somehow find myself in the wrong part of the university. I tell some other dream characters what happened to the ride.

Eventually I think I may have run into Manei, and gone to semi lucidity, but the dream got hazy and I either woke up or carried on.

    6. Another LD: Video Games sure come to your dreams eh?

      by , 10-02-2014 at 12:57 PM
Another LD: Video Games sure come to your dreams eh?
As I was slowly falling asleep I wanted a little nap before school, a Minute later I heard voices in my head...but it felt like it was near my ears.
I was in A Dream it was like some video game type thing, a DC version of my Dad was near me, I looked over to my right way over to the right there was a thing forgot what it said but, it was kindof like corrupted data.
Forgot Dialogue but it made us go inside this place, my Friend Adnan was there.
      Became Lucid around this point.
"Are you Lucid?" I asked him, "No." he replied.
We ran up the stairs we were standing on somekind of balcany.
He took his hood up and pulled his sweatshirt up to his mouth, and walked outside.
I thought it was kindof rasist, I thought to my Mind. There were Terrorists outside, and he is muslum and pretended to be their leader.
We crawled outside on the balcony, I saw some guys point at us I thought they were going to shoot but they didn't.
I paused in the dream like in a video game, It was on Resume game I went down to Level Select, and went to Babyhood. I jumped off the balcony feeling as I'm shrinking, I had small baby hands.

Then everything went Dark, my eyes were shut I opened them I went to the clock It was 6:30 so a twenty minute LD?

    7. Home, School, Mountain Dew

by , 10-02-2014 at 11:25 AM (One Up Seeker)
      1. I was in my house, downstairs. I had just walked to the front door and looked out the window. Through the window I could see a pretty big sized tree that was filled with food. There were baskets on it on each level of the tree, each level was like a platform. I looked in each of the baskets. One basket was full of bowtie pasta with shavings of some sort of green plant spread over it. There was a basket full of salad; all types of greens and such above the one with the pasta.
There were 2 other baskets, but I don't remember what was in them. I remember hearing my dad talking to our neighbor about this tree, and how he couldn't eat the pasta for some reason. They talked for a while it seemed, and of course my neighbor ended up leaving the tree there anyways. After that, I went into our China room(Everything in it is filled with expensive china glassware). As I did so I noticed a mirror on the wall closest to our staircase. I went up to it and looked at myself. I noticed that my hair looked different, it was darker now.

      2. I was with 2 friends, and we where on the corner of my street. We had just seen a long rectangular block on the corner, so we went up to it. On the side of this rectangle there was a narrow door, we opened it and went inside. Inside, there was a small room, and I mean really small. The entire room was just like the structure of the rectangle. As we looked around I noticed a board on one of the walls. On it was 3 words (that I'm assuming were the title of the board) and some drawings beneath them.
I remember reading the words, looking away, and then reading the words again. The words changed(I'm not sure if I became lucid or not). I continued looking around. Suddenly, outside I heard a school bus pass by. I went to the door, opened it up, and went outside to see what was going on. I saw the bus driving away, but something else caught my attention more. There was a golden retriever sprinting full speed straight to where I was standing.
I tried getting into the rectangle and closing the door, but the dog was too fast and got to me before I could close the door. He squeezed himself inside and walked around. I petted him just to be friendly and so did my other friends. The room was so small that it wasn't even wide enough for the dog and one person to walk through. Eventually we got the dog to get out, and as he was getting out my friend went up to the door and tried to lock it, but as he did the dog decided to come back in. We both pushed on the door with all of our strength to keep the door closed so we could lock it, but the dog was stronger and pushed open the door.
When he got back inside we petted him again to remain friendly and he walked through the room again and then walked out. As he walked out the second time I remember reading the words on the board inside the room. Again I saw that they had changed, but I'm still not sure if I became lucid(pretty sure I didn't). After that I walked outside of the rectangular room and started walking across the road to my friends house. As I did so I noticed that my friend was already standing in the doorway with her door open. She was upset.
I walked up to her and asked her why she was upset, she said that she missed her boyfriend. I continued to walk inside and stood around. Behind me came her boyfriend, and when they made contact with each other they literally stuffed their faces together making out. While they were doing this, I remember touching a wall and feeling the texture of it for some reason.

      3. I was inside of some building with my friend Andrew. We were sitting down eating. I had just bought a mountain dew flavored rice krispie/brownie treat. It was white, brown, and green all in a swirl. I bit into it and it tasted amazing. Later on I remember getting into a tense argument with Andrew.

      4. I was in school with my friend Dylan and we were on our way to Law Enforcement class. Mr. Hoffman(the teacher) told the entire class that we were switching rooms for the day, and gave us the room number to go to. The number he gave the class was in the 200's. I made my way to this class, and on the way there I lost Dylan. As I walked by myself I noticed that the school was rather dimly lit, and it seemed almost empty.
      (will finish the rest later).

    8. A Date and a Werewolf

by , 10-02-2014 at 08:22 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
      2:30 p.m.

I was in a bar. I met three guys. We talked a bit. I was interested in one, but as we were handing out numbers (I think I went around a fence to get to the other two), he went ahead (and I saw him through the fence). It was in a park. I looked for him but he's no longer around. I was able to get his e-mail though so I sent him a message.

I was in a hotel. We were there for an event. We went from one floor to another to get to the restaurant. We went through a series of... "tunnels". I don't know why there wasn't any elevator or stairs. Then we had to guess which tunnel door leads to the proper floor.

When we reached the restaurant floor (lower), I realized I left my wallet in the car (Who owns it? Is it open? Do I need to get the key?), so I had to go back. I walked around the restaurant first to check out some sweets (I woke up smelling sweets. I think someone cooked.).

I had to go back "up" through the tunnel, but I don't know which hole to get in. There was another guy who was looking for it and thought he found it. He was trying to open the door to the "ceiling". I then received a "message" on the lower left corner of my vision (like in Facebook). I then "teleported" to the proper floor, just beside the tunnel hole on the floor, and saw it open and the guy went up. I cheered and said I teleported. He seems happy and so are the other people there (salesladies?).

I was with some corporate guys on the stairway, but we're on a high floor, exposed to the elements. The stairs is outside the building somehow. I was thinking maybe I should have gotten a "height" accident insurance (in case I fall).

Somehow, we were done with whatever we needed to do at that floor. We went back down the tunnels again, this time going through a rather big and detailed circular (wooden) door.

We went there and saw a dead guy on the floor (we're in the parking lot area inside the building, on the higher floors). Somehow, I remember "seeing" the corpse earlier (probably when I was teleporting). There was a groundskeeper/janitor/guard there. I was with the guy (looks nerdy and around middle age). The guard said that he was killed because he has money. Maybe the guy who borrowed money from him killed him. There was also a guard dog. He has a leash, and the guard was holding it. I liked the dog, but then he growled low. I didn't feel fear. I looked at the nerdy guy, and he was shifty. He was afraid of the dog. I'm thinking the dog was just reacting to new, unfamiliar people, but I doubted it (just like I doubted the guard's words about the murder). The nerdy guy moved behind the dog and I followed him. The dog was still staring and growling at the location we left behind. The night is starting to crawl in. I told the guard to release the dog's leash immediately.

Then it was dark. I saw the moon somehow through the open spaces outside. The werewolf jumped in from somewhere above us. The dog was barking at it, but couldn't move because his leash is tied to the wall. I "sped up" and removed it from the hook (the leash looks flimsy enough but I didn't/couldn't cut it). Once the dog was released, I put on my claws and faced him together.

The alarm sounded, a mnemonic induction technique from LaBerge. I was seeing an area at night, with a McDonald's nearby. I was already lucid. I was also thinking of teeth, somehow, but I was also hearing the induction and paying attention. Then after five minutes, it repeated. Damn stupid alarm.

      --

      NOTES:

      - I slept around 12:30 p.m.
      - I slept on my right side.
      - I was trying to focus on breathing and thoughts before sleeping.
      - Felt so tired when I slept.
      - I woke up refreshed, if a bit annoyed at the alarm.
    9. Seven Foot Tall Man with Glowing Red Eyes

      by , 10-02-2014 at 04:20 AM
I swirled from one lucid dream into the next, and this is what happened. I appeared on a road in an old fashion small town. The air was very thick and warm, not earthly. There were several organic looking green discs floating about 10 feet off the ground. All parallel to the ground. They looked like the green slime we played with as kids. It was a clear night and I could see tons of stars behind the floating discs. I tried to fly above the discs, but they blocked me, so I floated upright a couple of feet off the ground, and headed down the road. Suddenly this tall 7 foot man, with brownish skin, and dark hair appeared from nowhere. His eyes were glowing red, and he looked upset. I floated closer towards him. He asked me in an abrupt voice, "Why are you floating? I've never seen this before. What's going on?" I landed on the ground right next to him. His eyes turned from glowing red to brown. I tried to explain to him what I was doing, but I could not talk. My speech was being totally blocked for no reason at all (very strange). I tried to talk two more times, and I only got some crackles out. Finally on the forth try the words finally came. I said, "I'm Lucid dreaming. Anybody can float in a Lucid dream." He said, "Oh, I've never seen this before. Can you come and show my girlfriend?" I said, "Sure!" We walked off down the street. I looked up and noticed the green slime discs were gone, and it was a beautiful star filled night sky. We eventually found his girlfriend, who was as equally tall, and had brown skin and dark hair. He explained to his girlfriend that I could float. She got excited about this and wanted to see. I told her, "Grab onto my hand and we can float together!" She smiled then grabbed onto my hand. We then floated 2 feet off the ground together. Suddenly, my Lucid dream started to fade. I swirled again, and went to the next Lucid dream. I hope she didn't hit the ground too hard when I left! I didn't even get to say bye.
    10. Getting back into lucid dreaming

      by , 10-02-2014 at 03:12 AM (Delenn's dream journal)
For some reason I want to try to lucid dream again. I thought about it a few days ago. That evening I had a lucid dream! I was pretty excited to have one after months or years of not thinking about lucid dreaming at all. I got to fly, and I kissed someone. Heh!

One interesting point is that the evening of my lucid dream, I was woken up at 5am by an Amber Alert on my phone. It was very loud and I woke up very abruptly. My lucid dream came after I fell back asleep.

I used this information the next night: I set an alarm for 5 hours after I went to bed. It did not work (I had no lucid dreams), but I will keep experimenting with this idea.

I have started my paper dream journal again. My dream recall is improving already. I also read about the All Day Awareness method (ADA)-- basically becoming more aware in my every day life, and thereby becoming more aware when I am dreaming. In this way the entire day becomes one big reality check. As I am a beginner I decided to focus on just one sense at a time--sense of smell, sense of sight, etc. Sense of smell is especially difficult for me because I don't think I have a very good sense of smell.

      My goals right now are:
      1. Lucid dream again.
      2. Say hello to someone in that lucid dream. This is a modest goal, but honestly I can't recall ever purposely speaking to someone in a lucid dream. I am naturally a quiet person so this doesn't surprise me. I think just speaking aloud will be a good first step.
      3. Increase awareness in my every day life.

I am going to start keeping track of how many lucid dreams I've had. I know I've had at least 5 in the past, but because I can't recall exactly how many, I'm just going to start the count over at 1.

    11. What Does This Dream Represent!?

      by , 10-01-2014 at 11:50 PM

I was having a non lucid dream at a school and started looking for a way out.
But the doors kept showing me walls so I kept running around until a DC grabbed me. I became lucid and it looked like Nelson Mandela mixed with another person. He started pulling me on the dirt ground next to a younger girl who was laughing. He asked her to look for a tombstone. I asked him if it was for him and he said no, it was for me...I started to panic and appeared on a bed in a room downstairs. Than creepy music from a very vivid dream I had months ago started playing. So I closed my eyes and started to bite my rubbery hand to try to wake up. I reappeared on the bed again and started biting it again and woke up.

After I was calm I went back to sleep and was having a non lucid dream. I was with a boy and he seemed like the perfect dream guide I wanted in my dream. We walked into a room downstairs and started talking and singing on the bed. But clones busted through the door and were annoying us. I knocked most of them out the door and locked it but they just opened it again. Suddenly the atmosphere started to change and it was darker. I was going to jump out a opening I saw in the window but the DC boy cried out to me to stop. I sighed and went up to him. It was time to face my fears...I walked into a hall where I saw my cousins and a old friend talking in a circle. Than out of no where a creepy girl spirit tried to scare me. I was going to run but I started to sing and dance to entertain her so the atmosphere can change into a good one. She seemed pleased and started to fade away. Than a lady from the olden days(Maybe during those monarch times)came up to me and said something. I turned to see a bright green hill with a clear blue sky and paintings on the sky of a rainbow, king and maybe angels.I flew to the setting and shouted out to the dream "What does this dream represent!?". The ground suddenly began to shake and a castle rose from the ground. There were people from the olden times running to hold onto the castle and maybe civil war guys running at us with guns in the sky. But there was one loud gust of smoke that shot into the air and out of it came a civil war or other type of old tiny soidger. I asked him what the dream represented again and he shouted in a loud voice "Prison!"Than they began to shoot the citizens and a lady pointed for one to shoot at me. He shot at me but it felt like nothing. I started to walk around and everything changed. It was like the ending to a movie. A random boy came up to a lady and asked what happened to the candy apples on the tree. The lady said it couldn't grow any anymore. Than the boy asked why not again and the lady shouted at him.I continued to observe the scenery and there were fruit roll ups shaped like tounges licking each other. The weird part is I could taste it and they tasted good. XD

    12. Chuck Norris!

by , 10-01-2014 at 10:52 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Waiting in line for some cafeteria food at a university, I suspect I might be dreaming. I do a reality check by seeing if I can put my hand through the cinder block wall. I can! Now that I'm dreaming, I don't have to wait in line at all. I use telekinesis to pull fried chicken from across the room into my outstretched hand. Catching it, I put it on my plate as I hold my tray with my other hand.

Not that interested in food since I'm dreaming, I just sit down at one of the cafeteria tables, and run my hand through them like water. It feels really cool. After a bit of doing this, I look up and see none other than Chuck Norris sitting across from me. "Holy Sh!t, it's Chuck Norris!" I yell to get everyone's attention. I forget I'm dreaming as I assume everyone would appreciate being graced by Chuck Norris' company....
    13. Difficult Steps in Life

by , 10-01-2014 at 10:43 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Very interesting colors and shapes swirl around as my whole experience for a bit. Then I decide to go to a class I hadn't attended in a while. Some sort of English class, I'm not really sure what it is about yet. But most of the term has passed, and I think it's a good time to check in and see what's going on. I walk into the classroom, filled with college kids, and am warmly greeted by the teacher. I'm flattered she is so nice, considering I haven't been to any of the classes until now.

I look for my seat, but get a strong urge to use the bathroom, so I step out for a brief break so I can focus better. I go down a hall, and see a stairway. Two people are in the stairway, discussing where the bathroom might be. They don't know, and neither do I. Instead of following them, I trust my intuition, and go a different route, pretty confident that they will also find a bathroom in time.

I try to go down another stairway, but run into a large group of people, all walking slowly, carrying their book bags and talking to one another. I make my way past them, turn down another hall, and see a urinal at the end. It is strange that there are no doors to the bathroom. It looks to be a room that the janitors must use for something. I go up to the urinal, and am surprised to see that it is actually a sink, with a faucet at the top, and a urinal basin for the bottom.

I don't want to pee in the sink! So I look around and spot a toilet right next to it. I set something valuable down on top of the urinal/sink, and relieve myself in the toilet, keeping careful watch down the hall in case someone comes this way. Two people turn the corner, so I stop peeing out of respect for their sensibilities, mostly relieved so I'm okay, and go to wash my hands. One of the people goes to use the toilet, and I worry about splash back on my item I put on the urinal, but try not to worry about it.

Suddenly, I'm misted by a blast of water spraying from some unseen source. Ah, this must be the hand washing water... I wash my hands in it, careful to let some water pass behind me and not to block the entire jet of water so the people behind me can have some too. But they are more annoyed that I'm washing my hands in that water than anything.

Alright, I better get back to class now. But I'm lost. I have no idea where I am. All I know is that my class room was on the second level of a massive bridge connecting two large buildings to one another. It must be B-Wing. I try to back track my steps and end up outside the building. I know I didn't go outside to get here, but it is sort of familiar, and I think I can get there this way just as well as the other way.

Walking around the building, I approach a large group of people just relaxing outside, laying in the sun, happily talking amongst themselves. There are a few builders taking a break on the hill, eating their food and enjoying the sun right next to the stairs up to B-Wing. I can nearly see my class room through the doors atop a few tall flights of outside stairs leading up to the bridge area. To my right is a goat with long blonde hair, and a rather human like face. She says hi to me, then starts talking to the builders. I'm not sure if this goat/woman speaks English, or if I can understand goat language really well. I am a goat whisperer after all.

No time to ponder that now, I'm late for class. So I walk past all this, shoot a quick smile at goat/lady, and approach the stairs. As soon as I take my first step on the stairs, I get that heavy leg thing. My legs feel like they each weigh 100 more pounds, plus like they're bungee corded to the ground, and are now unresponsive to usual motor control. It takes all my effort and focus to move just one foot up to the next step. There are many steps to go, so I use all my focus and concentration to consciously move my legs to get me up the steps in a timely fashion. My automatic movement part of the brain seems to have turned off for some reason, so all of the motion is now conscious motion.

It seems like it has taken so much time to climb the stairs that the class must surely have ended by now. But I push on anyway to prove to myself that I can overcome this obstacle, and also because the teacher might still be there so I can talk with her. Is it an English type of class?

/// I interpret this as I know the next steps to take in life, but they're hard. Although no matter how difficult they are to take, I can do it, and there's something important to be learned once I've taken these steps. Also, if I weren't so distracted by bathroom things, I could have learned what I needed to by now. Focus!
    14. When the Spiritual Guide Knocks

by , 10-01-2014 at 10:20 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I am sitting alone in a big apartment complex, listening to the rain pitter patter on the roof. It's night time, and I'm not sure what to do really. I faintly hear a knocking outside, but it's not at my door. I consider ignoring it, but decide to see who it is, since it is raining outside, and someone might need some help.

I go outside, and around the building to the front side of it about 100 ft around the corner and see that it was my spiritual guide knocking at the door. I got the impression he was trying to offer me a ride. He is now just about at his car, and about to drive away. I run up to him before he leaves, and tell him that I'd like a ride.

Once I get in the car, my good friend from school is now the driver, and it is day time. We're on a snowy mountain road, driving faster than I would drive given the conditions. There is a narrow band of dry road that is totally safe, but on each side is a slippery mix of snow and ice. My friend turns a corner too sharply, dipping into the slippery area, and the car spins off the road. Now air born, we are falling toward an icy river that looks really unpleasant. I see a snow bank just below, and think how nice it would be if we landed there instead.

We do! The front of the car sinks deep into the snow bank, far enough that we have to use the rear doors to get out. As soon as we get out and climb away a little, the snow gives way, and the car falls into the icy water below. As soon as it splashes in, I see my spiritual guide again next to me, with his lower robes all wet like he had been playing in the water just now.
    15. The Return of the Rabbit

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #242: The Return of the Rabbit

I’m riding in the back of a Suburban with several of my business partners. “PM” is the man behind the wheel and we’re driving slowly around a dirt loop, listening to the soundtrack from the video game that we’re working on. The music for our battle scene concludes and breaks into a slower section.

There’s a new part, a soft solo of a guitar-like stringed instrument that I’ve never heard before. It's beautiful! PM turns back to say, “I thought this part sounded fucking badass.” I enthusiastically agree that the new music sounds “all badass”. PM’s driving very erratically but not very concerned about it. I become semi-lucid, noting that this is probably a dream. I start laughing when he plows right over a stop sign
and now I’m sure that this is a dream. PM is laughing too, and stops the car.

We all get out and there are several of the guys here, PM, “Leroy”, and probably “Z” as well as maybe more. I put my hand on PM’s upper back/shoulder and kind of massage it, wanting to stay really connected to the dream. “Hey man,” I say, “this is a lucid dream. This is the first time that you've been in one of these with me. I’m really happy you’re here!” I feel very happy to have these guys here with me and I enjoy the swell of positive emotions. I tell PM that I’ll do my best to remember the new parts of the song and that I wonder whether he’ll remember them too.

We walk down a dirt path through some trees and night falls quickly. We’re moving through an industrial area by the water and I think that I’d like to summon Dreamer. I look down to see that there are 4 shadows in the group. Must be me, PM, Leroy, and Z? I hold out my left hand, imagining that Dreamer will take hold of it. I feel something vaguely like a hand, then look down again to see a fifth shadow (in a dress!) holding onto my hand.

I look over and Dreamer is standing next to me! Her hair is blond rather than purple now and very short, the bangs bluntly chopped almost in the form of a bowl cut. She’s just wearing a shirt and some kind of pants, though, not a dress. We smile at each other. “Hey guys, this is…” and then attempt to introduce Dreamer several times. I’m mortified that twice in a row I completely goof her waking life name before finally getting it right. I feel awful about this, very embarrassed.

The guys continue ahead and Dreamer and I walk just behind, coming to an abandoned wharf. I recall that we had recent, very specific plans for this dream (to try to heal one another’s sniffles, ha ha…) I ask her whether she remembers and she replies, but I have a hard time understanding her. I move really close to Dreamer’s face, trying to understand her or read her lips or anything, but it’s not working. For a moment I wonder whether there was a kissing task, but no, that wasn’t it, maybe that was someone else’s lucid dare. (Correct, actually -- this was a dare that Dreamer completed a while back!) I quit focusing on her lips and on this mumbling problem, assuming that her speech will sort itself out if I just quit worrying about it.

As we walk further along the water, we talk about how nice it is to just stroll through the dreamworld. I tell her that I’m glad that we’re getting to hang out in such a stable dream and how relaxing this is. I feel peaceful and happy, which reminds me of the patronus task. I tell Dreamer that I want to try the patronus and she moves close to wrap me up in a hug. I extend my right arm and she places her left hand under my wrist, almost to support it. I tell her that I feel super happy in this dream and that I think the patronus is going to be easy! She enthusiastically agrees.

Immediately, pulses of blue energy pour out of my fingers and float to the ground in a big ball. And now scampering along the ground near our feet is my bunny patronus. “Oh, he is cute!” says Dreamer. As he hops around, the bunny turns from a blue, glowy patronus into a real bunny. He hops further along the wharf. Dreamer grabs my hand and pulls me along to follow him. We follow him for a while through an old, crumbling breezeway until
      the dream ends.
