Date: 19/06/2012 Place: My holiday caravan Time of getting into bed: 11.50pm During the day I drank 1 x 500ml Monster energy drink WILD attempt (first ever) Strangely enough I decided to try it without prior sleep (don't ask me why) this took a good hour before I really felt the effects, but here is the results; Went to bed, relaxed, tried to get sleepy and restful. Took some time but finally felt in the right place. Found sleeping on my side the most comfortable (my sleeping position of choice) Was continually interupted by random banging noises - was sleeping in a caravan and sounded like the walls moving / creaking? Never noticed this before so really annoyed me!! Each time I was awoken I ignored it, and relaxed again - partners loud breathing kept me awake but after using it as a beat to keep my own breathing slow, it became unnoticeable. I found this bit easy. After some time I was clearly getting close, I could not feel my body, I kept experiencing swaying / floating sensations and my 'mind' was totally immersed. It felt a bit like I was mildly drugged up, I couldn't feel my hands or even the quilt around me. I didn't feel the need to swallow (which I have a bit of a habit of doing) I continued counting to ten, and saying ;I am dreaming' each time. I often lost my place and had to start over but remained calm. After an unknown amount of time, my body lit up as if on fire, but not painful. I had vibrations running through my body, which I tried to feel and control (sort of worked) it was not a bad sensation, but so real and intense that it did 'light' my brain up. Almost like going from sleepy and hypnotized to being conscious and SWITCHED ON. My ears popped as if I was underwater, and I tried to enjoy this strange sensation, telling myself I was about to enter a lucid dream! This sensation was exactly the same as the sensation I had when getting lucid a few nights ago. I feel like I know that I'm lucid, but I have to DO something to break through the barrier. Last time I raised my hand and pulled myself out from my 'body' so to speak. this time I didn't get a chance to. My initial idea was to 'roll over' into a dream. I didn't do this in time. Unfortunately I must have gotten too excited as I 'woke up'. I did a quick RC to make sure it wasn't a FA, which it wasn't. I jotted in my journal and tried to re-enter, but by then my heart was racing so fast and I was wide awake. It did give me incentive to try WILDing again though! Dream 1 - Non Lucid dream I am at a festival, trying to get back to my tent. There are lots of people walking around, and a large queue of traffic blocking the way. It is also very dark and very muddy, however I am not worried, I just keep walking. Dream 2 - Non Lucid dream I am somewhere, and trying to get home with my partner. We have no money to get home, but a limo pulls up looking for some famous people. We get in, pretending it is for us so we can a free lift home. It takes us to the home of the famous film stars who own the limo. We get out the limo and go in their house. Their house is big, spacious and obviously they are rich. We help ourselves to their stuff but we are not trashing the place as that would be rude. Someone knocks on the door and we panic, and hide. They soon go away and we decide it is best to disguise ourselves as the film stars so that no body suspects us. We put on their clothes, for me this consists of a dirty, white string vest and some large boots. I then have a string necklace around my neck, with beads and random bits hanging from it, a bit broken and messy. I also wear a long, dirty, thick trenchcoat. We then put egg yolk all over ourselves. No idea why. I believe we got these from the fridge. Dream 3- Non Lucid dream I am going through a drive through, although the actual company is not one that I know of (made up?) the men who work there are nice, but incompetent. They wear police helmets, and apologize for the delay. I finally get the food and drink but after drinking the fanta, it is warm. I hand it back and complain and they are nice, and agree to replace. However it takes so long to get a replacement that we decide to go for a short walk. We step out the car and see a strange gift shop. It is clear we are in a place I am unfamiliar with in my dream as I sort of explore, like a tourist. The gift shop is brown and had a big skeleton outside, it appears to sell strange and bizarre gifts. I don't go in, however, I turn left towards the main shopping area, across a square where people walk / talk / go about their lives. Here I see someone watching me / staring. I try to ignore them but I have a feeling they are going to talk to me and I really don't want them to. I am not scared, but don't like them so I try to mingle with the crowd and hide. It works. Next thing I know I am in a pub garden, playing pool (or snooker) with a friend. I notice my partner isn't here and ring them, trying to get them to join us. He will not join us because he cannot bring his own beer into the pub. I tell him we have water and this sort of changes his mind. Dream 4 - Non Lucid dream I have got some baby rats as pets. They are in a cage but I take one out to hold, it is fast and I drop it on the floor. I then try to pick it up but it is so small I lose it in the fibres of the carpet, I then search for it and find it - it is now an insect but I do not seem to be bothered by this transformation in the dream. I follow it a while then carefully pick it up, putting it back in the cage. ***NOTEWORTHY*** FIRST WILD ATTEMPT! The sensation I describe as 'lighting up my body' was present again Ears popped during WILD I love rats and had many pet rats in the past I recently attended a music festival A festival and a drive through have been been in my DJ recently I recently played pool with a friend
The dream begins with me running away from a house caontaining distantly fond memories. I run through the woods (very special to me considering my earth sign and other dreams in which i attained lucidity by making water appear in dry spots in woods, creating tall elegant trees, etc.) and come out into an openeing viewing a lake. On opposite side of me was a house brightly colored. Instantly I am across the lake on the other side I was just looking at. A man was standing next to me in casual work clothes. I look up in the sky and am instantly capnivated by its magnificant beauty. The sky was filled with very dark (but not scary) cloudes almost to the brim of my view. A cloud that kind of rolling through the sky, making small holes in the dark clouds and releasing a very illuminating bright yellow light. The man says,"beautiful isnt it?" I look at him and reply,"yes it is." We have a little conversation about his kids or childhood or something and i then decide i must return home so I leave the man and trail back through the woods. As i enter the woods my dream shifts to I floating downward into a decolet looking town. I land in small park or clump of trees and grass. I see a line of abandoned buildings except for one and head towards the lit up house. I see a skeleton man on a stage coach with no horses rolling down the road kind of far away from me. Then i see another person across the street waving me over but not to be seen by the skeleton man (who was dressed in elegant attire.). I make my way to the beginning of the street and am about to cross it when i notice the skeleton man coming closer. I wait for him to pass and throw rocks at him. He looks over, but continues his pass. I then go to the house and knock on the door. A golden retreiver answers and gesterures me inside saying," oh please come in they've been waiting for you." I follow the dog through a library style room and into a small hallway. I see a man and a woman holding a little girl in their lap watching t.v. The man sees me and says,"oh we we're wondering when youd be back! you havent swam with us in over a hundred years!" I start to question what they were saying and start to panic a little. the last thing i hear is the man say," we're losing him, he's waking up." and to no surprise, i awaken. I love this dream.
NON-DREAM · NOTES · DREAM · LUCID · I am driving up with my family, up to a magnificent, victorian mansion decorated with massive, striking red Swarovski crystals. It looks a little creepy. I feel like I am roleplaying with my family. We progress through dark, dank stone rooms with metal rings half buried in the stone floor, used for cleansing. We also move through musty, faded victorian style bedrooms, yet we come across no one. I open a door. There is a woman bound to a chair in the middle, in a bad state. I know it's a trap, but we walk in anyway and the lady turns into a rotting skeleton who chases us out of the room. In RPG style my family try to defeat the skeleton, as our gold coins increase.
I was walking through the park. There were a lot of people with fishing rods. I assumed that they were going down to the river. I kept walking until I came to a narrow dirt path. I took it and walked up the hill. At the top of the hill, the trees ended abruptly and opened up to a small peninsula on the lake. Waves were crashing against the rocks. On the grassy peninsula was a house. It looked rather new, but there wasn't anything, or anyone, inside. I stood hiding in the trees looking at the house. I've been here before. "It's just a hologram," the voice of a little girl says. I look down and see a little girl looking up at me. Sitting next to her is a strange creature. It looks like a skeleton with a dark robe on. I didn't pick up on any terribly malevolent energy from it. "How do you know?" I return, and look back at the house. "There's no entities in it. In the other dimension that the house exists in, there are many," she replies. Before she even spoke, I knew that she was right. I remembered a dream I had before where I was on this same peninsula and looking into the windows of the house. There were many, many entities there. "We're in the hologram," she states. "How do you know?" "Peel away my skin to find your demons underneath," she chanted. Her skin began to peel off. The creature next to her reached for the back of my heel with its skeleton fingers. When it touched my heel, the skin rotted away to reveal bone. "And when those who pray for other reasons pray, they shouldn't be disturbed. For those who pray for evil should not notice if something around them were to change," the little girl continued to chant. Her sentences slowly lost cohesion to meaning and my reality slowly peeled apart. The last thing I heard before waking up was, "she hasn't even ate a damned near rail today," in a southern boy's thick accent.
I'm either dreaming or having HI of some small brown skeleto walking towards me on my bed. I don't know how I know but it feels like I'm in my from Cali. Anyway I have a ps3 controller and I'm pressing the right trigger to kill it, and nothing is happening. I break out of the dream, and immediately feel a tug. Dang it's not over. I don't even bother trying to get out of bed because I know it's going to be a full on struggle. I wait.,,nothing happens for a few minutes, and then I feel feet trampling through my bed. My body auto wakes up and I have chills all over me..fuck it's going to be a long night...probably due to stress. I relax and try to not think about the things that are on my mind. I end up dreaming that I'm working in a store with S and some other people. She's datIng some guy who's treating her like crap and I asked her was it really worth choosing him over me...the scene changes before I get a reply. I'm in an office and people are discussing all the things they did right as a company last year and the entire time I'm negative about what they say. They mention a safey rating and I tell them I'm going to die...there's a bit of sarcasm and screw it to the way I counter whatever they bring up. I also remember going to a party...this happened befor all the sp.
The dream begins with me on a bike on a very step mountain. I already know I"m dreaming, and the words -- "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming!" -- are bouncing around in my head. I begin to pedal the bike down the hill, a voice behind me says to stop going so fast, so I speed up faster. I'm going so fast that when I hit a bump I get shot up into the air. I'm now flying over the trees. I feel so free, but it's a bike it doesn't fly, so I crash onto a building with may floors but no walls. There are monsters on the building, skeletons and dogs, and possibly zombies. I began to fight them knocking them over the sides. I even trick a skeleton to fall off the side without my help.(This whole dream takes place in the dark by the way.)I then fall off of the building and find myself in a barren landscape, with cracks criss-crossing the whole desert. There is a farmhouse and scattered water towers around. There is also distant shapes of mountains. In a sudden thought I tell myself I want to run fast. So I turn toward an open area and start running. "Run fast." I say to myself and before you know it I'm running at a super fast speed. The color of the dream changes to be a yellow grainy sand color, but then switches back to normal mis-run. I then stop running and turn my attention to the sky. I used the same technique as how I got myself to run and I started to fly. I was flying just as fast as my running. I started to bob and weave above and under water towers. Rubbing them as I go past, so that I stabilize the dream. The same color change that happened with the running also happened with my flying. I then told myself that I wanted to find the DV Academy. I keep lying until a large building comes into view on my left. I bank towards it, steadily slowing down until I land softly on the ground. I look at the entrance and it says DV Academy, but instead of heading inside their is a small shack behind me that says DreamViews. I enter the shack and this is where I believe I became semi-lucid.Inside the shack is my mother, my friend from school, and some random lady. They're all wearing old style clothes. I then realize that I have to use the restroom. I exit the house and enter a snow filled area, I then turn to the side of the shack. There are stairs leading up to the top. I'm about to head up them, but a shadow that disappears behind the house, makes me think otherwise. I run into the house, and lock the door behind me. "Whats wrong?" My friend says, as she looks at me with a questioning look. "There is something out there." "Did you use the restroom?" she asks. "No, I got scared." "Jordann, don't be stupid there is nothing out there." she tells me as she tries to open the door. I don't letter and it soon becomes a wrestling match. The lock of the door breaks off and I am encased in a cocoon of fear."Mom!" I yell as I run into the old kitchen. Allison broke the lock to the house and there is something out there. My mom drops what she is doing and runs towards the door. The dream ends with my mom trying to fix the lock.

Last night I induced sleep paralysis. I went into the state more quickly than I usually do and I was praying in my head. The more I prayed, the more waves of buzzing sensations coursed through me. Normally I enjoy sleep paralysis episodes, but this one made me anxious. I couldn't loosen up or let my mind settle. Eventually I fell asleep and had quite a few dreams but the last one I remember clearly. I was in my room and there was a guy with me. He was shining a red lazer in my eyes and saying he was going to control me like this. I closed my eyes to prevent this but I could still see the light through my lids. So I took a magazine and shielded my face with it. I could still see the red light! The guy was becoming more angry with me and pushed me to the floor. I struggled with him and rolled over, straddling him. I took the lazer from him and shined it in his eyes. I kept screaming "Shut up!", over and over at him. He shut up. I had somewhat control of him. He was still gripping my arms tightly so I chanted "Let me go!" over and over as well. He let me go. I crawled off him and kicked him aside. He was dazed and his expression blank. His skin began to change. He grew deformed. His eyes were gone and he looked like a skeleton with a film of old orangey macaroni and cheese all over him. I freaked out and tried to escort him out of my room. He stopped at the doorway and shook out of his daze. "What happened?" he asked. I pushed him out completely and told him to go look at himself in the bathroom mirror. He did and I shut my door. I could hear him screaming and wailing and breaking things. Since my room doesn't have a lock I had to lean against it in order for him not to break in and he tried that. He pounded on my door and screamed, threatening to kill me. Eventually he left but the pounding on the door came back. It was my little brother. He wanted to be let in because the guy was after him too. I let my brother in and shut the door behind him. The deformed guy attempted to break in again. My brother wasn't scared or vulnerable like he usually is in my dreams, he wanted to kill him. That's where the dream ended. I woke up breathing very hard.
I'm at my own house party, i have a few family friends over and I'm just sitting with them, until i hear my cat hissing and crying out. I run outside and find it being attacked by this wild dog in the bushes.. but i don't really get a close look at it.. it's been happening for a few months now and I'm getting sick of it and worried for my cat. I put my cat inside and i go back out and spot the dog, i notice that the dog is a skeleton from neck down, (but this doesn't seem strange to me) anyway, i fight with the dog and kill it by strangling it, and as it dies its face kind of like melts (it was disgusting), i freak out once I've killed it and pick it up (its really stiff like a decoration stand kind of thing) and i put it on the side of my house and went back to the party. When i go inside i notice i have lots of blood on my hands but before i can wash it, someone starts talking to me. After I've washed my hands and start to head outside the same person follows me from the bathroom outside to see what im doing, i walk around waiting for her to go but she wont and she starts to walk to the side of my house where the dog was put, i try to distract her but she wants to go there to see something. I prepare myself for an explanation, but when she said nothing i had a look myself, THE DOG WASN'T THERE?! i look around more, and notice that in a pile of cans, paints, glues ect that pieces of the dogs skeleton where placed around it, but it was carved out to look like decorations. I picked up a piece of the skeleton and see that someones made it look like candle holders, or pieces to a bed ect ect. I dont know how its happened and im left confused.
1st dream: I was in a forest at night time with the Mystery Inc gang. We came upon some Legs (dressed in clothes that were starting to rot) that would cover over by leaves, than we uncovered the rest of the body and discovered a disturbing sight, The rest body of was a skeleton, expect for the unattached head which looked as the person did in Life. Than we came upon other skeletons but part of their bodies (eg.Hands) looked like they haven't rotted yet. Than we came to a hedge and looked through it and saw a mummy (you know the Egyptian kind) and than the parts that didn't rotted and the skeleton hopped over the hedge. End of that Dream: Dream 2: I was kidnapped (I didn't see it happen), and was sold to a Raja in India who took me for one of his wives (since I looked very beautiful) . He consider me to be important since he made me wife number 1 also known as Rani (Queen), since I was dressed in very Queen-like fashion, unlike the other wives according to Raja (from what I could see in the mirror in the Raja's bedchamber I was wearing a very fancy sari but what's odd is that I had a headdress similar to the one Cleopatra supposedly wore) . We were in the Raja's bedchamber and were getting ready to have sex to see if I would get pregnant (being the Rani, was a big responsibility since I would have to produce a son). We just laid down on the very big bed and the dream ended. Dream 3: I dreamed it was morning and my door was open, and through it, my sister's door, somehow I know sis was still home. And I check the alarm clock and it said 12:00pm and than sis came out of her room and I thought "how odd sis had work today at 8:30 so what is she doing still here?" Than I woke up for good.
I was with a friend from elementary school, B, and we were looking through the grass on the cliff we were on (we often hunted bugs as children ^_^) when B screams, scared of something. I look over to see something strange in the grass. As first it looked like a fake skeleton. I picked it up to find that it was real. It looked like a small monkey like creature about 1ft long. I look to the direction we had come from (I just knew it is where we came from) to see that from the angle we were at there was a secret passage to another dimension. We crawl into it to see a bunch of bizarre things. The only one I remember is a bunch of birds having some sort of military drill. Me in the dream had some sort of "I told you so" moment (apparently in the dream I thought stuff like that went on XD) dream skip (still in the same dream though) I suddenly knew that the Queen of this land was from the future, here to prevent the start of a mutiny. For some reason, she was starting to forget the time she had come from, which did not have strange things going on. It was much more how the real world was. I was trying to get her to remember something from her time. And she thought of a memory of meeting some of her friends by a car, but her memory was becoming contorted by what she had seen in the time period she was in. And I knew that if she could not remember her memory properly she would be trapped in the time period. dream skip (still in the same dream though) I was in a group of people outside the queens castle. Everything was ok until she called out someone in the crowd on something. The person got angry and began to rile up the crowd. I turn to see it is B as an adult. I realize her attempt to stop a mutiny was actually a self-fulfilling prophecy, and she was the one causing the mutiny. That is when my alarm went off -_-
I was floating over a preschool which had various Mario video games in floating boxes. I landed on the box for Super Mario Bros (for SNES) and beat most of the game using cheats. I floated some more and came to a ranch-like place. Behind one of the buildings there were people selling jackets. I told my mom that I didn't want one, but then I saw that they had one that was the most beautiful periwinkle. The person selling the jackets explained to me that it was one of their two blue ones, called lilac. I walked around to another building, where there were a couple of my cousins and some DCs I didn't know. There was a cord you could pull that made a chess board appear on the wall, which people could then walk on to control their pieces. Every now and then, though, a shock wave would go over the board, zapping everyone who didn't jump fast enough. I went over to the open pipe we were using as a shower and wet my hair, then went back to the place near the chess board. A bunch of my friends had turned into cats made out of a bunch of little metal spheres. We went over to where our horses were. There was a really, really short horse. At first I thought it was my horse, but I remembered him being taller. I found my horse a little ways off, but when I got closer I saw that he was super thin and the wrong color. I led him over to the other horses and (literally) jumped onto his back, but he collapsed before I'd even touched him. I pulled him up and got on a second time, and he tried to bite me. Something seemed weird... I was facing backwards, but his head was in front of me. If I turned around, he would keep biting me. Then it dawned on me--the saddle was on the wrong side of his neck! The people in charge started discussing which horse they could put me on instead of LJ. "Umm... Can I get down?" I asked. They were like, "uh, if you can." So I jumped down from him, nearly getting squished twice, and got a safe distance from LJ. I wondered what had happened to him to make him so bony. He was like a skeleton. I decided not to try riding him again for awhile.
Morning of August 26, 1997. Tuesday. I dreamt of a skeleton that was buried in Cubitis (where I have not lived since 1978). The identity of the skeleton remains unknown. A strong wind blows dirt from it as I watch. Eventually, instead of a skeleton, it turns out to be edges of many interesting magazines and books. (Human remains becoming something else over time, or having been something else even when there does seem to be a real change, has been a sparsely recurring dream event.) Because skeletons, ghosts, and similar concepts relate to unfocused conscious awareness within a dream when books define a clearer conscious focus (though I do not become lucid), such a dream symbolizes increasing neural activity towards waking. Wind represents the passage of time.
Morning of November 3, 1979. Saturday. A living pelican skeleton walks about in my family’s living room in Cubitis (though I was living in Wisconsin by this time in real life). My dream is very intense and vivid, with an augmented sense of wonder, but not eerie despite the imagery. There is a vibrant positive energy present. The pelican skeleton eventually jumps up onto a dresser (along the west wall of the living room) and then spends time seemingly looking at itself in a mirror (perhaps in puzzlement of its “twin” in the mirror) and moving its wings of bone. I am also vaguely aware of other activity in the room, something like small balls rolling around and possibly small mammals of which I do not directly focus upon. It seems very alive and vibrant, as if I am viewing the scene through some sort of x-ray vision. There is a lot of energy in my dream, and other events are happening, but this is the main one and the focus of my dream at its most vivid level. (It reminds me, in conscious afterthought, of an image from the Time-Life book “The Birds”, which I had since I was very young. This dream is a unique version of the otherwise typical type of autosymbolism in the last segment of my dreams that relates to associations with vestibular system ambiguity and not knowing where my physical body is in unconsciousness. Although there is a lesser semi-lucidity here, my dream self typically does not have viable access to either my unconscious or viable memory or thinking skills, or viable awareness of my conscious self in waking life. This, in fact, is why the mirror is rendered, as a mirror is a type of autosymbolism that represents this division of liminal space. The skeleton form represents how my dream self is not my complete conscious self in waking life, combined with the flight symbol that is precursory to the actual waking transition (and of which is rendered in over one in five of my dreams, at least once per sleep cycle).

Morning of September 6, 1977. Tuesday. This was a long dream as a teen (seemingly with a few “resets” in the first versions), first dreamt in Cubitis in 1977. It recurred many times over several years (until the movie “The Fly” 1986 version was released and in which a scene matched my much older dream). The “soundtrack” of later versions was the music from the movie “The Black Hole” (1979) which I had the soundtrack record of. Lisa M and her family are moving back to Cubitis, having driven down Highway Seventeen from the south, though I am not sure why. It is seemingly midnight or just after when they pull stealthily into their driveway (of tiny broken up seashells, bits of clam shells, and sand). I run and inform my parents regardless of the later hour, with somewhat of a sense of awe. (In reality, ironically, she had begun public high school for the first time after her family moved - the same one I would have went to - but shortly after I stopped going.) In my dream, a fictional song called “Grasshopper” (supposedly by Kenny Rogers) was part of my “dream-movie’s” background music in later versions. (Two of the lines of the song were “When we were kids we used to play in the backyard” and “Grasshopper, grasshopper, come back to me” - slightly similar to the melody of “Matchmaker” from “Fiddler on the Roof” - possible association with the grasshopper fiddling in the “Ant and the Grasshopper” fable.) Over time, I learn of some unusual and disturbing issues; “this” Lisa was not the “original” Lisa; at one point, something to do with being right-handed or left-handed due to an injury from doing cartwheels, I think, which is based on a distorted memory of a story about losing virginity when doing too many cartwheels or riding a horse. The “new” Lisa is some sort of shape-shifting creature, possibly from another planet (though this is not certain). The grasshopper as a deuteragonist may be associated with Jiminy Cricket relative to morals and conscience (or presumed guilt), though greatly augmented. Later, a human skeleton is found in the concrete flower-box in front of where my bedroom is (outer west-most wall) when some new coleus plants are to be put in by my mother. Surprisingly, it turns out to be the real Lisa’s skeletal remains. It seems that the creature had somehow taken at least partial control of the parents to move “back home” to produce offspring. This mind control wears off at one point. (The focus on death is likely more about Jenny C, who was murdered about a month earlier by another male a couple years younger than me). This also loosely foreshadowed a real-life experience I had while fishing one morning. My mother had used plastic milk jugs as filler for the flower box. When I reeled my line in at one point, I mistook a plastic milk jug filled with sediment for a human skull, which gave me palpitations a temporary shock. The fake Lisa had vanished when the news was spread about the shape-shifting alien invader. I later (for reasons I am not certain of) communicate with her again very late at night. It turns out that the real Lisa had been deliberately replaced by the female grasshopper-like creature that could mimic people (much like the movie “Mimic” that came out years later but the creature being far more human-like in my dream). Earlier versions of my dream ended with the same scene as in the new version of “The Fly” (1986) where the large insect “foot”/leg moves out and comes down in the same way with the same timing, personal mood and reflection, and “color” upon my seeing the movie for the first time. There is one final scene where a small white shaggy dog (unknown Maltese) is barking at the creature as I fall backwards in my presumed “death”. (This turns out to have been precognitive of my wife’s life as related in the June 2014 dream “A Long Journey with my Wife”.) Parts of later versions of my dream seemed similar to scenes from “Five Million Years to Earth” (1967) as well (“Quatermass and the Pit”). She becomes a mother and produces thousands of locust-like creatures that destroy the world; nothing but empty trees and bare ground as far as the eye can see, which again, uses the soundtrack from “The Black Hole” (same ending theme to my “dream movie”). Grasshopper-like creatures leap around almost like a sense of playful horses from an underside view, but…no more people, ever (other than myself). (There is no logical pondering of what will happen when all the vegetation is gone, which would likely be not that far into the future as I already see a lot of leafless trees over the infested landscape.)

Morning of November 22, 1975. Saturday. My dream starts out with a detailed backstory with fictional characters possibly implied to be living in Arcadia (as that is where the final event likely takes place). There is a family curse where an unfamiliar man of perhaps about thirty was warned, I believe by his grandmother (and possibly other family members), not to ever become a sailor or go near the ocean at any point in his life. There had been a sampler in his family for several generations which depicts rats leaving a ship that is implied to be destined to sink, which is hanging on display in a local museum. The edge of the boat is shown and the gangway is visible, with three rats on the gangplank in running position from upper left to lower right, diagonally positioned. This design also seems to represent the family’s coat of arms. Eventually, I become corporeal and part of the scenario. I am with my best friend Toby at a public gathering in an unfamiliar setting. He is seated to my right. The unknown man has decided to go to sea as a ship’s captain (apparently without moving up the ranks). He is dressed in a captain’s uniform and is explaining how he no longer believes in his family curse. There are at least two other speakers at the gathering. The speakers take turns sitting on chairs to the right of the podium (my left). There are probably less than twenty people at the indoor venue. The podium and speakers are perhaps about six feet from the first row of the audience, who sit on singular chairs. Time passes. There is an uneasy quiet growing, followed by an eerie clattering (reminiscent of wooden wind chimes), followed by another eerie silence. Toby is looking off to the right. I tap him to get his attention, saying his name. The unknown would-be captain has become a skeleton, now sagging slightly on his chair, still in his uniform, unmoving. A hush falls over the audience as the dream, now at its most vivid point, quickly fades. The preconscious personification, who never regarded me directly, was rendered as an unknown male who wanted to go to sea (return to sleep, as water represents the internal biology of sleeping and dreaming) as a captain (dictating control of his sleeping and waking habits). Instead, he became a skeleton to symbolize the cessation of the dream state and to activate the waking stage. This was foreshadowed by the sampler of the rats leaving the ship. Rats basically symbolize nighttime circadian rhythms (as they are primarily nocturnal, excluding pet rats) and the gangplank is actually oriented like a clock to represent a time around four or five o'clock in the morning. The sampler also implies leaving the potential to sail upon the ocean (analogous to not returning to sleep). Additionally, the background of the sampler was yellow, which represents sentience and a precursor to dawning consciousness (waking). This was my last longer and clearer dream of the morning. There was no fear created in this dream; just a subtle sense of awe and curiosity. The foundation for this dream was water induction (my most common dream induction). It is possible that my dream was influenced by a cover of DC’s “Ghosts” comic book (volume one issue nine, cover date November 1972), one that I had looked at fairly often, even though there is no implication of a ghost in this dream, only the skeleton as symbolic of the cessation of my dream.
