    1. Wolf transformation / Annoying religious girl

      by
      Hyu
      , 08-16-2011 at 11:28 PM (Hyu's Adventures)
I'm in Germany at a friends who's trowing a party.
There's a few people there I know, plus a girl I've just met.
Her first question after being introduced is: "Do you believe in god?"
This annoys me. If this is the first thing she wants to know about me, it has obviously got to be very important to her.
I reply with: "Which one?" thinking that she'll get the message and not talk to me for the rest of the evening, or at least drop the religious talk.

I don't mind religious people at all, as long as they aren't annoying about it, and I have a very strong feeling that this woman is exactly that kind of person.
To make things worse, she doesn't get it.

"What do you mean? Our lord an savior Christ of course! Don't tell me you're one of those atheists..."
"Yes, I am an atheist. But I could simply believe in another religion as well, you shouldn't generalize the term god like that. There's other beliefs out there you know."
"Yes, but they are all false, and you are a bad person for not honoring our lord."

You've got to be kidding me...
I roll my eyes and walk away.
There's no point in arguing with such people, I consider them borderline delusional.
I grab some food from a buffet when I notice the girl followed me.

"If you ask nicely I can teach you the way of Christ and save your soul you know... you can be forgiven!"
"Listen girl, what you're saying is terribly offensive. Being religious does not make you a better person than I am."
"I uphold moral values the same way you do and I need no religious teachings to tell me how to do so."
      "You should leave me alone."

But she doesn't... instead she tells me that I'm going to hell.
I contemplate explaining the difference between beliefs and facts to her, and how what she's saying is being offensive but I quickly decide against it.
I've met people like her very rarely, but this is extreme.
I look at the balcony and think: If only I could just fly away. This party sucks!
If this was a dream I could just jump and begone.

I feel the urge to try to levitate...
I look at the girl who's now staring at me, looking genuinely sorry for myself.
This makes me angry, I could slap her in the face.
She seems to have no free will, just an empty shell... like a DC...

      Hmm... I look around.
Nothing's off, everything seems perfectly fine... still... is this a dream?
I try to retrace my steps... how did I get here?

I have no idea... I must be dreaming!

I approach the balcony with the girl pursuing me.
Just before reaching the balcony I try to RC, but as my hand approaches my nose I finally know that I am dreaming, even though I haven't performed the RC yet.
So I just jump off the balcony and fly away.

It is nighttime, but I can see somewhat clearly.
I fly over a forest, enjoying the nice and fresh air, and not being annoyed by that girl anymore.
Flying... it really never gets old, it's such an amazing experience.
But I feel like doing something different.
I feel like running. Running as a wolf! Just as I did in Dancing with the wolves, Dragon at Stonehenge - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I approach the ground and shift into a big white wolf mid flight and enter the forest fully transformed.
As I run though the forest I quickly notice that it's not the same as last time.
Last time was a magical experience, but this time it is not.
It doesn't feel surreal at all, and the forest appears normal and boring... not to mention it is rather dark which is bad.

Maybe last time I wasn't on earth? Maybe it was because I was with Olivia?
I keep running faster and faster, trying to remember what it was like last time and hopefully teleport into the same scene.
As I reach higher speeds my fur starts to sparkle and my vision becomes distorted.

My vision normalizes and I'm certain that I've teleported back to the location I was in last time.
It feels magical yet again. The forest is beautiful and oddly bright even though it's the middle of the night.
The sensation of the air brushing through my fur is absolutely amazing.
I wonder if I'll be able to meet Olivia or whoever she was yet again.
I attempt to relocate the hill we were on last time and find it after about a minute.

      But she is not here.

I howl into the night hoping that she'll hear me and come visit me...
    2. My Most Realistic Lucid Ever

      by , 08-13-2011 at 12:53 AM
So I finally decided to start an online dream journal. I will most likely only post lucids and memorable dreams. I know there are several grammatical and wording errors. I tend to type/write a certain way even though it might be wrong.

      Warning: Kind of long

      Lucid Dream
      Lucidity/Clarity: Very realistic
      Notes: WBTB

I woke up still feeling sleepy this morning. Instead of going back to sleep, I went to talk with my sister for awhile. We talked about dreams for about 15 minutes. I went back to bed.

I fell asleep after about an hour. I realized that a dream was starting so I made to sure pay enough attention so I knew I was dreaming but not enough to wake myself. After a few moments, I realize that I am sitting in a classroom. I can hear students talking and the teacher calling roll. I was afraid to move because I was able to feel my body still in bed but I was also able to feel my dream body. I waited awhile longer for the dream to stabilize. I moved my dream arm to see if it was safe to continue.

Suddenly the dream hit me at full force. Everything felt incredibly real. It almost felt realer than real life if that makes any sense. I looked around the classroom, felt my desk, and listened to my surroundings. This really helped stabilize the dream. I had no fear of waking now.

The teacher was still calling roll. The dream characters was also very realistic. They all had their own individual conversations. I had no interest in listening. I decided that I would leave the classroom. I almost reconsidered and had to remind myself that I was dreaming and I didn't have to stay. I made my way to the door. "Where are you going?," the teacher asked. I told him that I was leaving. I was laughing to myself because I would never do such a thing in real life. He want to know my name to put on the roll but I ignored him.

The hallway was full of teenagers. Some were talking with friends or going through there lockers. I didn't know what I wanted to do in this dream. I decided to summon a creature. I imagined an alligator like thing. It was able to stand upright and talk for some reason. The creature grabbed me and tried to eat me. In fear of losing control, I let him do it. I was about halfway into his mouth when I decided to do reality checks. I observed my surroundings again. The air was hot, moist and smelled like stomach acid. The smell was so strong I had to keep myself from gagging. I remembered that throwing up wasn't necessary so I stopped feeling nauseous. The walls the creature's throat was very smooth, warm and a little slimy. Despite being halfway into the throat, I was able to see its stomach. The stomach acid smelled really bad and had a neon green color. I knew being closer to liquid would probably increase the smell so I decided to crawl out of the creature's mouth. I felt a little strange because of the dream characters staring. Usually dream characters disappear when I don't think about them but these characters never left. I felt a little better when I saw the creature gagging in the corner.

I exited the school. I didn't remember walking out of it. I was worried that I would wake up soon so I did reality checks again.(Note: I find the nose RC to be very useful and reliable. You don't have to use your hands to do it and you can do it at any time.) I also took this time to observe my surroundings and re-anchor myself to increase stability. Again, I was astounded by how realistic everything was. I was able to feel the slight breeze and coldness of the air. It was late afternoon and the sky had a dark purple to blue gradient. There was a neighborhood outside the school. Most of the houses had two stories and had similar styles which reminded me of a neighborhood in a dream I had several years ago. There were many trees. Each house probably had a tree or two in the yard. There were people walking around. They all wore costumes and walked house to house. I had a feeling that it was Halloween. I also felt that it wasn't Halloween but something very similar to it.

I walked into the middle of the street. "Let's show them my "costume"," I thought to myself. For some reason, I found the thought to be funny so I laughed a little. I did the usual thing I do when I transform. I threw myself toward the ground to stand on all fours while imagining my usual wolf form. I think it looks similar to the Mexican wolf or a wolf with brownish black fur with light brown splotches in some area.(I'm not really sure about this.) The nearby dream characters began to screamed and run away. I started laughing and felt empowered. I felt proud that they were afraid of me. I usually would attack and kill for fun but the sound of their screams and expressions made me feel a bit guilty. I saw one of the characters pointing toward the sky. I then realized that they weren't afraid of me but of the large meteor hurling toward the neighborhood.

Now somewhat afraid, I returned to my human form and ran to look for cover. I had somewhat forgotten that I was able to stop this but I doubted myself. While running, a boy, around seven or eight years old, started to run with me. He had brown/blonde hair and blue eyes. He was also looking for a place to hide. We ran into the backyard of a house. There was something like a storage area. It had a roof but no walls. We sat underneath it for a few minutes. I was still able to hear people screaming in the distance. I waited for the impact but it never happened. I was confused so I just decided that it wasn't that big and wouldn't effect my current area.

I went to explore some more. The boy followed me. I wondered if I should speak to him but I knew that this dream was long enough. I would most likely forgot most of it. While I was deciding if I should wake myself up so I can write in my private journal, I watched the sky. The sky was the same color as before but there were small orange streaks that would occasionally fly across the sky. I stopped walking when I reached another street. There was a house or two and an overpass. There was a city in the distance.

Suddenly, a larger meteor appeared. People began to panic again. I felt confident that I would be able to stop it. I wanted to save the city and the dream characters. I remembered Kamehameha move from Dragon Ball Z. As I got into position, I realized that the meteor was moving very fast and would hit the city if I took too long. Instead of yelling out the entire name, I yelled "-hameha" and thrusted my palms into the direction of the meteor. Nothing happened. I was a bit disappointed until I saw a small blue flash on the meteor. The meteor exploded into dust with a very loud crack. The people around me cheered and thanked me.

I suddenly got tunnel vision and lost feeling of my dream body. I knew I was probably waking up and remembered to stay still. Once everything turned black, I imagined a new scene so I can continue.

I managed to enter a new dream without losing any clarity. I didn't get to do anything eventful because I woke up about thirty seconds later.

Sorry about the really long post. This dream was the most realistic dream I have ever had. I felt that summarizing it would make it less fun to read. If anyone actually reads dream journals.
    3. 16/7/11 (day sleeper) Mayan Pyramid....not so lucky this time.

      by , 07-17-2011 at 12:46 AM
Tried repeatedly to get to the pyramid, never became lucid enough to get there. Ended up having lots of random sex with Yule Brenner in his 'West World' costume.
Tried to track down the wolf from my previous non-lucid dream to say "Hi!". Think I caught up with him/her so hit the deck to appear non-treatening and said "I've not been able to shape-shift much of late" and then failed to turn my hand into a paw....lame

    4. 15/7/11 Non-Lucid portion of a dream.

      by , 07-17-2011 at 12:29 AM
Was non-lucid at the time or arriving at my grand-parents house (the house hasn't existed in that form for a good 20 years). I went into the back garden and saw a black wolf with a few white and possibly brown hairs on it's muzzle. It had yellow eyes and was looking right at me, it's ears where up and it's tail not wagging and hagging low.
I only glanced at it for a moment and must have not considered it a threat as I just carried on doing strange non lucid things I can hardly remember.

    5. Dancing with the wolves, Dragon at Stonehenge

I've averaged about 5 hours of sleep the past few weeks which is obviously not very good for lucid dreaming, and I kind of stopped trying because it felt like a hopeless endeavor until I have more time.
I still occasionally try to WILD during naps, which works sometimes, but nap dreams are always quite short.
This is the first day where I could sleep for as long as I wanted in a long time.
I went to bed wishing for a nice lucid.

      1. I'm at Uni. Someone tells me that they have seen wolves around here at night.
They suggest that I close my windows at night because apparently wolves come and kill you in your sleep if you leave them open.
I don't really believe any of it though.

        __
      2. I wake up in my bed and I am startled by a bright wolf right next to me.
I check my windows. Yep, they're open, but why? I never leave them open.
I quickly notice that the wolf isn't hostile at all, in fact he looks kind of cute.
I pet him and he's clearly enjoying it...

        __
      3. Dancing with the wolves
I wake up again. Well, that's not right, how can I wake up twice in a row?
Oh. I'm dreaming, of course! How exciting! It's been some time since my last DILD.
I immediately start contemplating doing all kinds of things when I notice that the dream is about to fall apart.
I feel the buzzing vibrations all over my skin and my vision is fading to black. Shit!

My first reflex is to spin wildly, even though I usually try to DEILD in these situations.
Lucky for me, the spinning stabilizes the dream and the vibrations stop.
That was close. I try to remain calm and take a walk in my apartment trying to get my emotions under control.
I end up next to my bathroom and I hear someone singing in my bathroom.

It's a female voice humming a melody. I can also hear water drops.
Is someone in my bathtub? I walk inside my bathroom and I find Olivia Wilde in my bathtub.
This is a huge surprise. Fortunately I've calmed down and I'm able to control myself and keep the dream stable.
She's wearing clothes in the bathtub for some reason. Blue jeans and a grey shirt.

        "Why don't you join me?"

The bathtub is wider than in waking life, there's easily enough place for the both of us.
Why not? I enter the bathtub. The water feels nice and warm.

"So, what is Olivia Wilde doing in my bathtub?"
"Why don't you ask your subconscious?"

Clearly a reference to this dream: Experimenting with Dream Control - Creating Worlds & Meeting Olivia Wilde

"Am I not technically asking my subconscious already?"
        "Haha, you're good."

I wonder where this is going.
Suddenly Olivia imitates the howling of a wolf.

        "Okay?"
"I want to run. I want to run aimlessly through the forest and enjoy this wonderful night."
        "Will you come with me?"

        "Sure"

She stares deeply into my eyes.
I can see the reflection in her eyes changing, it looks very interesting and she has very beautiful eyes.
Suddenly I can feel the air brushing over my skin.
We're outside now, in front of a forest I do not know.
I understand that she just teleported the both of us here.

It's the middle of the night, but everything is lit rather well by the full moon, which is bigger than usual.
The lighting gives everything a rather mysterious but beautiful look.

        "Let's run!"

Olivia turns into a big wolf right in front of me.

It's bigger than a wolf in waking life, but that doesn't prevent it from looking absolutely adorable.
        She howls again, very loudly.
Then she takes off into the forest. After a few meters she stops and looks at me.
        She's waiting for me.

I feel like I'm supposed to turn into a wolf, and even though I know that I suck horribly at transforming into other beings, I give it a try.
And oddly enough, it works perfectly.
As soon as I have transformed myself into a white wolf, I can feel the urge to run through the forest.
I howl loudly before entering the forest, and Olivia mimics it.

We're running through the forest as fast as we can. We're ridiculously fast, I'm guessing that we're going about 100km/h.
It's quite hard navigating the forest at these speeds, but oh my god, it feels SO GOOD.
I can feel every single hair in my fur moving with the wind and I can see so clearly in the dark with my wolves eyes.
This must be what WakingNomad feels like all the time.
It's such a wonderful feeling to experience the world as a different being.

We stop on a high hill where we can overlook the whole forest and we howl into the night.

        __
      4. Dragon at Stonehenge
I open my eyes and quickly realize that I am waking up.
I try to avoid moving in order to DEILD.
Even though I have moved a bit, I'm still confident that I can enter a dream.
I feel a sort of "click", like something has changed.
For some reason I look to my left, even though there's nothing of interest there in my room in waking life.

Olivia is lying right in front of me, our bodies are nearly touching.
This startles me, I totally wasn't expecting this and my vision instantly blacks out.

But then I feel myself falling and I hit the ground.
I'm in the middle of the city.
I get up and notice that everyone is looking at me.
Right, I'm wearing nothing but shorts.

        "Move along."

Everyone starts going back to their normal business.
Haha, DCs are so easy to manipulate.
I summon my dragon wings and take off into the sky.
I pick a direction and fly towards is as fast as I can just a few meters over the ground.

        "Faster, FASTER!!!"

I can feel the shock of breaking the sound barrier, and suddenly everything feels sort of calm.
Except for the pressure on my skin which becomes greater the faster I go.
I'm not really sure what I'm doing, but this feels great.
I haven't flown for too long, I missed it.

Mid-flight I decide I want to teleport to Teraluna.
But I can't summon my phoenix wings whilst I have my dragon wings out... or something?
I simply unsummon my dragon wings and then attempt to teleport which works.

SHIT! I'm still going just as fast as before.
My feat touch the ground and I try to break as hard as I can by quickly spreading my wings again.
I'm sliding over Yuya's terrace at abnormal speeds, and I manage to stop just centimeters before hitting something.

"Quite a dramatic entrance, I'll give you that."
        "Yuya!"

I give her a big hug.

        "You're in a good mood!"
        "Of course I am!"

I notice I still have my dragon wings out.

"I will turn into a dragon!"
        "Okay?"
"I turned into a wolf before, I can do it!"
"Of course you can. Hey, let's go fly together!"

Yuya opens a portal hovering over the ground.
We both jump in. I come out on the other side transformed into a dragon.
This is earth! We're just above the clouds.
Yuya comes out of the portal, she has many watery wings, they look beautiful.
We both dive through the clouds, flying straight down to catch speed and break off the free fall just before hitting the ground.
We fly over open fields and I occasionally roar deeply to make it known that a dragon is flying in the skies.

We slow down when I see a familiar object.

Stonehenge! I don't think I've ever been here before.
We land on one of the pillars, there doesn't seem to be anyone else here.
For some reason I have to think of WakingNomad. I remember reading that he's been here a few times.
It feels appropriate to let him know that I was here, so I roar as loudly as I can up into the sky.

I put so much pressure into roaring that I am accidentally spitting quite a bit of fire.
The sound is deep and so loud it causes the ground to vibrate.
As I stop I see that flames are still travelling towards the clouds.
        I think I overdid it "a bit".
        I look at Yuya.

        "Oops?"

We both start laughing and I loose my transformation and fall off the pillar to the ground back in human form.
Yuya drops to the ground right next to me, she probably lost her balance as well.
We keep laughing like little children. Life is good.

    7. Senior Ball Spoof/CPR/Flying on a Wolf's Back!

      by , 06-04-2011 at 08:04 PM
The first dream was in like Tim Burton's rendition of Gotham City, but my mind told me it was New York.

Our class decided to have our Senior Ball there. I recall standing on various street corners and watching my classmates walk by. They saw me and acknowledged me. I was comparatively under-dressed. I followed them into the building where the event was taking place. The inside looked like a bookstore.

      Weird.
And the other people from my class were no longer in immediate view. For some reason, I was holding two dirty incense burners. I also had to explain them to Mrs. H who was apparently screening students at the door who were high or carrying drugs or anything like that. Together, we cleaned the burners off into a garbage can.

My next dream took place in a Tops grocery store and I guess I was supposed to Test out for CPR in a lifelike situation or something.

Inside, I met that new girl, Courtney. She was the one testing me, and she actually played the part of the dummy for scene-checking phase. For the rescue breaths, she brought out a very strange contraption that you put your mouth around and it's designed to make the process more difficult. I finished up with that and walked outside. I drove my truck across the street and felt like I was being followed so I circled this building in it's parking lot once to lose any creepers. I went back to the Tops parking lot and parked but then Mike pulled up before I could finish parking so I bumped into his truck ever so lightly.

In my next dream, I was somewhere outside a neighboring town and I don't remember how it started, but I do remember flying up out of the woods near the west branch of the lake.

It was nice because the shores were just forest and it seemed untainted by populace. But wait a second...I'M FLYING ON THE BACK OF A HUGE WHITE WOLF!

It was so vivid. First time I've ever flown in a dream. I seemed to have some difficulty keeping the wolf aloft, however. As I looked at the water, I could see the rocks on the bottom. I think it was unusually shallow because my mind wanted it to be. I don't like deep water. I came down gently on the east shore and walked into the woods. My wolf then shrank to pocket size! I carried him. Then in the woods, I encountered another white wolf, this one with a pink spot on his back. He was vicious, so I desperately tried to make my wolf fly so that I could flee. We flew up and over this suburban neighborhood. There were red-brown houses with nice courtyards and enclosed patios. One family saw me and started to freak out. I landed next to my own family in this strange suburbia. I wanted to protect my wolf. The family that had freaked out showed up. They claimed that my wolf was their dog. Yah, bullcrap. I believe I woke up before anything bad could happen. But the whole flying experience was just amazing.
    8. Wolf Dream

      by , 04-24-2011 at 03:36 AM
In many dreams of mine, the same fragment has happened:
"I am sitting down in some place, usually my kitchen, when I flip the page of the book I'm reading to a big picture of a wolf staring head-on at me. I feel a small surge of terror when I see it because it's moving and growing as if it was running towards me. My sight swings back out of my body and to my right, and I see the wolf jump out of the book at me, and I wake up."
The wolf image would look kind of like my avatar, but with it's body behind it.
    9. animal cabin; killing roach; bleeding hands; pointy top and fat base

      by , 04-22-2011 at 02:16 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

I was in a cabin in the woods with my old friend, M. It may have been night at first. We were looking out a wall-sized window at the forest landscape. It was like the window was about 2 or 3 meters above ground-level. There was some other shack-like structure standing just beyond the house.

The scene became light, as if the time quickly went from night to early morning. As it did, M and I spoke about the shack. Apparently there were trees growing out of the top of the shack. They were kind of thin and they didn't have much of a canopy.

M and I said that before the event, something like a flood or an earthquake, we hadn't been aware of the trees. But they had been there all along. But after the flood, we were definitely aware of the trees growing out of the shack. In my mind's eye I saw the waters of the flood quickly subsiding down the sides of the shack.

I now saw someting like a beaver gnawing away at one of the tree trunks. The beaver was enormous -- maybe 2 meters long. It had big, black eyes, like a teddy bear. I looked away from the window, as if I had to go do something else, something like packing up to leave the cabin.

I wondered about the beaver. The beaver had been so huge and the tree trunk so thin that it seemed to me the beaver should have been able to have chewed all the way through the tree before I had looked away. But it hadn't been able to do so. I thought that maybe the tree was bigger than I'd thought it was.

I now looked to the opposite side of the cabin. There was another wall-sized window, this one level with the ground. The light was much brighter. It appeared to be a grey day.

Just outside the window there was a car which was parked so its right side faced the window. Between the car and the window there lay a huge, brown, furry animal. It was like the beaver on top of the cabin, but it was also more like a bear.

M had become my mother. This was my mother's cabin. I turned to my mom, who was still looking out the other window. I asked her something about these weird animals. She replied in some matter of fact way. She then made some comment about huge wolves that were attacking people.

I looked back to the window with the car. I now noticed that just inside the cabin, right by the window, there was another big, brown, beaver-like animal curled up on the floor. It was like some kind of pet, like a cat.

Behind the car there was another weird animal. This one was like a huge coyote or a bobcat. But it was all black. Its eyes were huge and black, again, like teddy-bear eyes. Its fur was kind of long and disshevelled, but soft looking, almost like pulled-out cotton candy.

I wondered if this animal was dangerous, like the wolves my mom had been talking about. But it occurred to me that this black animal was actually a cat-like animal. A wolf would be more of a dog-like animal.

I had to go outside to put my stuff into the car so I could leave. But I was kind of afraid to. I was afraid of some of the wolves showing up and attacking me. It then occurred to me that as long as the black animal was around, no wolves would attack.

Apparently my brother and sister were in the car. They had been waiting for me to come to the car so we could leave. I was now walking out of some bedroom with some stuff. I may have been holding something (like wadded up tissue?) to my chest. The room seemed to have a greenish tint to it, as if from light coming in through dim curtains and reflecting against light-green walls.

As I was heading to the front door of the cabin, my mom started complaining to me about how I had taken so long to get ready that I had missed the ideal opportunity for getting back home. The drive home would be twelve hours long. If we had left earlier, we would have been able to miss the snowstorm that was coming. But now we would be driving right into the snowstorm.

I was now in some spacious, one-story house, all by myself. For a moment I was in the living room. The living room was huge. The back wall had a huge window running along it, letting in a lot of grey light.

I was then in a small bedroom. It was night. The light was on in the bedroom. The room was really cluttered. I looked at the clock on the dresser. It said something like 11:45. I looked out the slats of the window blinds. I saw the street below. It was like I was in a house. I may have seen a car passing.

I walked away from the bedroom, possibly toward a doorway. I thought to myself that it was really good how well we had timed our trip back home. We were already home and the snowstorm was only now getting ready to start.

      Dream #2

I was in some bedroom that was a lot like mine. But the floor was barren and possibly something like concrete. The floor was really grimy and dusty, with a little bit of trash like paper here and there.

I saw a big roach run across the floor. I was a little annoyed, and I decided to kill the roach. But for some reason I also decided to sweep and clean the floor while I was hunting down the roach.

At some point there were also two men in the room. They were both white, possibly British, and kind of old. They may have been wearing black suits and bowler hats.

In the middle of cleaning the floors, I suddenly thought this would be the perfect opportunity to kill the roach. I grabbed something with a flat bottom, possibly a shoe, but possibly a flat object like a book. I slammed down on the roach.

I caught the roach so that its head was just coming out from under the book. I didn't think I would be able to kill it this way. But I kept smashing down harder and harder. Eventually a bunch of fluid began pouring out from under the book. The fluid was clear and kind of brown, like some kind of liquor. After a while I was satisfied that the roach was dead.

I turned around and stood up. The other men were just finishing cleaning up the place. Either they or I said something like, "You see, if you only keep this place clean, you'll avoid having to deal with roaches."

The men were now standing over at a table by the wall. There was a third man, kind of an average, middle-aged guy, a little overweight, kind of pale white, but overall healthy looking.

The man had two black cases with him. The cases were like computer cases, but they were small. They were made out of backpack-like fabric and were also very well-padded. The old men first lay the cases on the table. They then took the cases off the table and began to sit them on the floor. At this point in time the cases may have been unzipped and empty.

I wondered if it was a good idea to lay the cases on the floor. After all, the floor had been so dirty that it had attracted the roaches. If the cases were important, wouldn't it be kind of bad to get them dirty by putting them on the floor?

      Dream #3

I looked at my hands. Apparently they had gotten so dry that they were cracking and bleeding. But now they were cracking a lot. It was like whole slashes were running down the backs of my hands. I thought I would never be able to heal my hands, they were so cracked and bleeding.

      Dream #4

There was some man who was dignified and at the same time kind of like the ringleader for a circus. He was right up in my face, talking to me about something about society. He was trying to make his argument by using the analogy of some kind of object with a pointy top and fat base.

But for some reason, I got an image in my head of something which was the opposite of what the man had been talking about. I may have seen a spinning top. This had a pointy bottom and fat top. But I may also have seen a clear, plastic cup for soda. It didn't have a pointy top or base. I may hav seen some other kind of clear, plastic toy.

At some point either I or the man started to question the validity of the argument being made, since none of the images being conjured up had the pointy top and fat base.

(Side notes: In Dream #1, the trees growing out of the shack most likely come from a photographic image from the work of Jungjin Lee. I saw her work a few weeks back at the Aperture Foundation.

The weird animals at least partly come from a fetish video I was watching on YouTube. It involved an adult woman in a diaper, playing with a huge teddy bear. But I also think the image comes from the werewolves in the Twilight movies.

Also, I've recently read a couple of books which have involved lycanthropy lately. One is Bruno Bettelheim's The Uses of Enchantment. The other is Hereward Carrington's 1921 book Problems of Psychical Research.

Carrington's book is available on the free book website gutenberg.org. I think it is also available for free through Kindle.

Here is the link to the Gutenberg Project version of the book. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/23660...-h/23660-h.htm

While I'm on the topic of the Gutenberg Project, I might as well mention a small essay I read by Henri Bergson, simply titled Dreams. I don't agree with the entire theory. But I find Bergson's overall insights to be a lot of fun. Anyway, I thought of you guys when I read it.

    10. Marine Biology School, an Alternate Past, and Ryan Weirdness

      by , 04-14-2011 at 03:56 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid - AP

The first dream I had, I'm almost positive I was lucid, but all I remember about it is being in a forest. As soon as I woke up from it, the details were gone.

      ~

I was with Kacey. I remember being at work at first, and then we were at some marine biology school. That's where she was studying. I went to sit in on one of her classes. My data analysis teacher, Dr. D, was teaching. I thought that was cool that she taught biology and statistics.

I sat down at a desk, and pulled out a bowl of oatmeal. I was eating the oatmeal throughout the class. Dr. D taught and showed us some film clips of marine life. When she showed us the clips, she turned the lights off.

When the class was over, she turned the lights back on. I got up out of my desk, and looked in front of it. There was a huge pile of oatmeal spilled there. And I mean HUGE, there is no way anyone could eat that much oatmeal in one sitting. I commented on it to Kacey, saying that I guess I spilled some. She said
"Yeah, that's why someone asked what that sound was." Apparently, it made a weird noise when it spilled.
I cleaned up the oatmeal, scooping it into a plastic shopping bag. I put the bag in a suitcase, which was lined with plastic. I bundled up the plastic, and threw everything away. I looked back in my suitcase, and the oatmeal was still there. I threw it away.

Then, I remember some guy coming up to talk to me. He looked about 30-35 or so. He was blonde with a mustache, and had a high-pitched voice. He asked if I remembered him, and started talking to me about my dad, and how he had been one of his patients. He said his voice was so high because he had "X syndrome" (fragile X syndrome in waking life). He walked away. I could not for the life of me remember who he was.

I went outside, and the guy was out there smoking a cigarette. Kacey had said something to me about me needing to avoid him or something. He started talking in his high-pitched voice again.

      ~

I was with some friends, some people that I'm not close with in waking life. We were all apparently close friends though. It was a group of about 5 or 6 of us. We were at a restaurant, Cracker Barrel maybe.

Then, I remember starting to go back in time. I started to experience an alternate past. I was with the same group of friends, and we were at a gay club. It was an actual gay club we have close to town in waking life, but this one was in a different town. I thought about that for a second. It was dark in the room, definitely a club setting. We were all laughing and having a great time. The time setting was either right at the end of or the end of high school. We were sitting at a table with a bench waiting for the drag show to start. I remember a little bit of the drag show. It was kind of movie-esque. I remember thinking to myself at some point
"If I would have done this, I wouldn't be the same person I am now."

Then, I remember it being stormy. It wasn't nighttime anymore. We were in some other building now, and were being herded into a hallway with lots of windows because there was a tornado warning. My old 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. B, was directing us where to go. I remembered seeing other people go into these interior rooms with no windows. I was baffled: Why would my teacher bring us into this room? There were windows everywhere. You could see how dark the sky looked out the windows.

I decided to say something. I asked Mrs. B why we were out in this room when there were so many windows. She said we had to be there. I started to argue with her, yelling about how stupid and unsafe this was. She yelled back. I think there was some physical fighting involved. I knew I was getting in trouble, but I didn't care. I was pissed.

Then, I remember being in a bus, driving away from the area. The sky looked clear, but then I saw a tornado form. It was a smaller tornado, but I saw it pick up a barn. It wasn't too far behind us. I "remembered" when this had happened in my "real life".

      ~

I was in my room with Ryan. He had apparently moved into my family's house with me. I thought about how awkward that would be, with him staying in my room and my family being there. He came into the room wearing this dark blue button-up shirt with a light blue shirt underneath. His pants were blue plaid pajama pants. We were apparently going out to eat or something, and I didn't have the heart to tell him that his outfit looked bad. He said he really liked that shirt. I thought it looked like a girl's shirt.

I remember there being some big, black grill-type thing in the middle of the room. It was more like a box, that when you opened it, it started to get hot. You could see the hot, glowing metal. You closed it when you wanted it to shut off. I opened it, and there was some wolf in there, but it wasn't a real wolf. It bit my hand and I laughed, because it didn't bite it hard. Apparently the wolf-but-not-wolf was my friend.

I then remember something about my cat, Belle, being caught in there and needing to be let out. I remember seeing her running around my room.

Then, I saw that Ryan had cleavage. It wasn't weird
      until I woke up.

    11. A Wolf at the Door, Flying with Balloons, and Some Others

      by , 04-03-2011 at 04:10 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid - AP

All I remember from this dream is that I was talking to two guys about shared dreaming, or something about dream interpretation. I was asking them some questions. I felt like they had some sort of authority on the subject.

      ~

I made some weird apple drink. It looked just like apple juice. I made it in one of the tall, clear glasses we use at work for our cold drinks. I put it in a bag to take with me wherever I was going. I thought the drink was going to taste amazing. I remember one of the ingredients being apple cider vinegar. When I got to where I was going (can't recall where that was), I took the drink out of my bag. I looked at it, and thought that there was ice in it, when really, there wasn't. There were, however, croutons floating at the top of the glass.

I took a sip and immediately spit it out. It wasn't near as delicious as I thought it was going to be. It almost tasted like warm, sweet pickle juice. I tried it again, and spit it out. Another girl was next to me, and said something about the drink.

Then, I was outside somewhere. I was with my friend from work, Nate. We went down this path that went down a hill, and came across this bicycle. It was purple and flowery. Nate said he was going to take it. He took it, then went home.

Then, my boss found me at the bottom of the hill. She asked me something about Nate stealing a bike. I said I was there for it, but I wasn't going to go get it from him or turn him in. She got really upset with me; I think she suspended me from work. I didn't care though; I didn't want Nate to get in trouble.

Then, I remember trying to find Nate. I found his house. There was a pick-up truck parked outside in a gravel driveway. I remember being very happy to see Nate. I told him about my boss.

      ~

I was with my family, and we were going on a vacation. I think we were in the Bahamas. At any rate, I know we were on an island. We were staying in a little vacation home at the edge of the island. We were standing on the beach outside the home. There was a man with us, showing us around and showing us the vacation home. He told us to be careful at night if we were going out, because the wolves came out at night. I remember pondering how people even went out at night there because of that.

Then, I remember being inside the vacation home, close to the front door. It was nighttime, and my mom opened the door from outside. She was trying to get me to help her fight off this wolf that had followed her to the door. At that moment, the wolf bounded through the door, and jumped on me. He had me pinned against the wall. I was pretty scared. I remember feeling his gray fur against my hands, as I tried to push him off. I remember feeling his weight against me, and how heavy and bulky he felt. I don't remember who got the wolf off of me, but someone did.

Then, I remember my old friend/an ex, Jake, being there. I told him about the wolves. A lot of the time he was there, I remember him acting childish and pouty. I don't remember much else about him being there though.

      ~

I was outside, in what looked like my old high school's courtyard. It was very cloudy and windy outside. Kacey was with me. I had a binder in my hands, and was holding it above my head. This was causing me to float through the air when the wind blew under it. Kacey had a balloon, and was using that to do the same thing. She told me to try it. I got a balloon, and floated around with Kacey as the wind blew us. We were laughing and having a great time, as the wind would take us high into the air, and then back down.

Then, I had to go back inside to take a Data Analysis test (this class is on my mind a lot, apparently). I entered the classroom, and it was HUGE, way bigger than my actual Data Analysis classroom. There were also many, many more people, and two professors were teaching it, as opposed to one. I remember one of them being an older man with gray hair. He was going bald. All of the tables and seats in the classroom were white.

I sat down in the back of the classroom to take the test. I thought I had been very prepared, but as I took the test, I didn't feel near as confident as I thought (this actually happened a few days ago in waking life, though not to this extreme of an extent). I was one of the first ones done, so I got up and left. I went into the hallway to find my balloon, but it was gone. I tried to get another one from someone. They gave it to me, but I went back into the classroom and left it, hoping that it would still be there when I returned.

Everyone was still sitting down, even though many were done with the test. I figured I probably needed to stay as well. I went back to my seat. There was a black woman sitting next to me. She was still working on her test. My test was still sitting in front of me. There was a stack of tests in the middle of the table we were sitting at. I started to compare my answers to some of the answers on the test on the top of the stack. Hmm...mine seemed way off. I also didn't remember doing the last extra credit problems that everyone else had filled out. I looked, and I had done them. Whew. I then saw other people had the plus/minus sign next to a lot of their answers. Shit, I meant to do that, but forgot. I then was trying to remember if there was a question about confidence intervals, because I thought that was supposed to be on the test. I put my test on the top of the stack, turning it over first so no one could see the answers. Well, that didn't work, because apparently, I had done my test in red pen, and it had bled through to the other side. The black lady sitting next to me asked me if the last problem was way off. She drew a half of a box around my bottom answer in red pen to indicate what she was talking about. I shrugged.

Then, the tests were taken up. We all had to stand up and listen to the old man professor talk. There were boxes of cinnamon rolls in some of the seats around us (and yet again, work creeps into my non-work related dream). The boxes were a clear turquoise/teal-ish color. A girl next to me opened one of the boxes, and broke a piece off of a cinnamon roll, and snuck it in her purse. I thought about doing the same; I started to open a box, but decided not to at the last minute. I then thought that since she had done it, others that saw her would follow suit, as that is only human nature. I then saw a few other people doing the same thing.

We were filing out of the classroom, and there were balloons people were taking. I wanted one, but by the time I got up to where they were, they had all been taken. My other one was also gone. Bummer.

    12. Wolf and Rain

by , 03-10-2011 at 08:35 PM (Nocturn Core (Abridged))
I was in the car with my dad driving. We were on a one way road and had to stop at an intersection. He pulled around the cars in front of us and parked the car in front of a huge, bright screen mounted to the curb. The front of the car bumped the underside of the screen. I looked up at the screen itself, and my vision warped.

I was in my bedroom on the computer. Like some kind of background train of logic slipped into place, I suddenly realized I was dreaming. I laughed at the strange sequence of events… What did my computer have to do with my dad driving around? I wondered how long I had been dreaming. Not very long, I realized. I immediately felt the dream fading as it always does, but I transformed myself into a wolf to put pressure on my hands and feet. I felt that would help. After a brief jog through a forest, I started flying around the world in one frame of reference. In the bedroom, I was gently floating through the air. I laughed when I saw what I was doing in the room. This was the dumbest stabilization technique I’d ever come up with. I turned back into a human. I had brief sexual thoughts, but I reminded myself not to pursue them this time. I would learn much more from experimenting with the dream state. I drifted down to a sitting position and rubbed my hands together. I brought them into view and saw that I was wearing black leather gloves. That explained why my skin felt so leathery. I pulled the gloves off and tried rubbing my hands again. It worked. The skin on my hands was so finely detailed afterward… I noticed every little stretch in the skin. I reminded myself not to get lost staring into them. I pinched myself in an attempt to inflict minor pain. I wanted to ground myself further in the dream. My hand just felt numb. I tried my arm, too – also numb. Whatever, I thought, at least pain wouldn’t distract me. As soon as I started toward the door, things became fuzzy and blacked out. I patiently waited without mental comment.

“Furley?” I heard my mom calling Austin from downstairs – that was her nickname for him around the house when we were younger.
Her voice caused me to lose a little lucidity for a moment. Time to get up, I thought… Wait! My mom wouldn’t be in my dorm room, I reasoned. Vision rapidly came back, and my lucidity was back to where it had been before.

I “respawned” at my computer desk after a few moments. Chelsea walked into the room and handed me a soft drink from a fast food restaurant. About half of the drink remained.

“Are you done with that?” I asked, taking it from her. I wanted to try Coca Cola in a dream. I haven’t had it in a long, long time in waking life because it’s so acidic. The taste was convincing, and getting a drink was refreshing since my throat was so dry. I checked my hands… No gloves. Good! I noticed I was really warm because I was wearing my hoodie. I took that off and tossed it on the floor. Keeping myself warm wasn’t at all necessary… If anything, staying cold would keep me alert. Chelsea gave me a weird look when I pushed the chair back. She had been talking to me about something, but I wasn’t listening. I felt a little guilty, but it didn’t seem like it was that important. If it had been, I wouldn’t have been able to ignore it.

“Come with me…” I said. I grabbed her hand and led her out of the room. We went down a flight of stairs. I recognized our old house in Texas from the general layout, so I knew where to expect the front door. It was wide open. Clearly, I was on the right path.

“Where are we going?” Chelsea asked. I figured I could tell her she was a dream character, or I could let her see that we were in a dream for herself. I chose the latter option.

“Don’t worry about that. We’ll see.” I wasn’t sure myself. When we reached the door, I saw that it was raining. I smiled. I love rainstorms. “You don’t need shoes,” I told her, urging her out of the house even though she was barefoot. I didn’t notice I was wearing socks until I stepped onto the wet driveway. Just intending for them to go away was difficult, but I knew it would be better if I could feel the cold driveway under my feet. Chelsea was hanging back by the door to avoid going into the rain. “What’s wrong? Come on!”

“We do need shoes,” she objected. Sighing, I grabbed her arm and pulled her outside. “Wait!” she objected again. “We have to close the door!”

“There’s no one else in that house,” I laughed. “Stop worrying. Look at all of this!” Where there should have been houses, the terrain was just flat. It was nostalgic in ways – the same trees were there – but with all the buildings missing, it was so foreign. As we walked into the rain, the dream rapidly faded.

I found myself in my computer chair in my dorm room. I relaxed in the chair, attempting to go back to sleep. I wasn’t aware that this was a false awakening. A program called Dream Apache tracked my dreams from the previous night. It even listed the durations of each dream so I could determine the order in which I had them. I waited almost a full minute (53 seconds) in this relaxed state before my head seemed to swell. Was this what it was like to cross the threshold, I wondered? Tunnel vision went to darkness, eclipsing the blinking message on the screen that said “DREAM ACTIVE.” The program even told me where my dream body had gone, but I didn’t pay attention to that.

I felt hands grip my ankles. Interesting… I was dreaming again for sure. The hands were soft, but the force behind them was strong. I felt a forward tug. I was being pulled somewhere.

      The rest has been omitted.

    14. Cars, Wolf Path, Plane Hatch, Feeding Birds

      by , 02-25-2011 at 12:28 AM (* The Sandman's Dream Journal o/***)
I was with Rona. There were two cars. The first one seemed like a '67 style Dodge Charger. It was a fast car. Rona's was the style of a '67 GTO. The V lines were exaggerated. Rona was saying how it used to be a police car and it would go much faster than the other car.

      --

It was night and I was trying to get home. I turned right down a narrow path with brush on either side. It seems I could have gone home another way, but I didn't know how, and this path was right here and would get me home faster. The only thing is, there were wolves a entering the path.

I was terrified, but started running faster as though I could outrun them. I had all the endurance I needed. I started to growl at the first dog, and I guess it worked. I kept running and there was another wolf up ahead. I ran easily, but then the dream ended.

      --

I was in an airplane and there was an open hatch. It was like a vacuum sucking up some potato chips. The hatch led to hell, or at least some evil place. It was trying to suck me up, but I didn't allow myself to be sucked up into it.

      --

I saw several small birds of prey. They were the size of falcons, but looked more like hawks. The background landscape was mountains, but the foreground was flat and grassy.

I had better food ready, but when it came time to feed them, all I had was seed. Now I'm inside and there isn't as much room. I decide to feed the birds anyway. Now they are only crows. I'm disappointed, but I threw out my food for them.

Now one of the birds is much smaller. I'm with someone who takes the bird into her mouth, though not to eat it. In my waking life I used to have small birds that liked to pick at my teeth and would stick their whole head in my mouth.

The space I'm in starts to get very cramped. In waking life last night I was stapling reflective insulation in my attic and cramped doesn't approach how little room I had. My dream ended as I looked out at the avian activity.

      --

I was in a middle-eastern bazaar at night. There were large baskets hanging above me for sale. The country I was in was not a democracy, and that made me uncomfortable except for one thing: certain things were legal, and I was having a user-dream the whole time...so I went with it.

    15. forest, friend's house, show, computer

      by , 02-10-2011 at 12:38 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

I was in a forest, possibly a snowy forest. There was an animal like a wolf that would eat humans. I may have seen it.

I was then at the house or apartment of an old friend of mine. My friend had me go into some bedroom. The bedroom was dark. There were clothes all over the floor. A mattress lay in the middle of the room. The mattress was also covered with clothes.

My friend kept insisting that I try on some of the women's clothes he had. But I felt like he was just trying to put me into a position where he could do something bad to me. I also felt like he wanted to do something bad to my family as well.

I was then watching some show on a stage. The show had an old variety-show feel, but it was somehow related to an anime. There were some really hot girls dancing around on stage. They were dressed in jeans and tight shirts, just casual clothes, but they had something to do with the anime, too.

At some point I came to understand that the plot line had something to do with lesbianism. This really turned me on. The show was now controllable, as if I were watching it on YouTube. I did all kinds of frantic forwarding and rewinding, trying to get to the point where this assumed hot lesbian scene had occurred.

But suddenly, the screen went blank. I realized I had been watching this on my computer the whole time. My computer's screen was black, with only a cursor blinking in the upper left corner. I started to smell a plasticky, burning smell. I could tell it was coming from my computer's disk drive.

I knew I had burnt out my computer. I was pretty sure I couldn't get a new one for a while. I wondered what the heck I was going to do.
