    1. Short lucid.

by , 06-26-2017 at 04:49 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
Recall has been spotty at best in the last couple of days.

      Apartment?

I'm in a large apartment building. for some reason I think I'm in Sweden in a no go zone (I was watching youtube videos of this the night before). I think there were people after me so I'm running down a stairwell for some reason shutting off the lights as they go. I think it's to scare the people after me? I spend quite a long time doing this.

I emerge outside and see my dad in a truck I ask him to give me a ride but he says no and leaves me there. I am frustrated not knowing where I am. I become lucid looking at the ground. I float in the air a bit. I go do time dilation by putting my hand on the ground. I forget something in the sequence but I try to stack the time dilation into 3 lucids. I start counting but as an effect of doing it wrong my vision blurs and I wake up.

Other dreams involved flying around semi lucid.

    2. Blackness, Vauge Voices

by , 06-26-2017 at 03:55 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      [PRE-DREAM]

I did not get a wink of sleep last night. My older brother was watching television, I couldn't calm myself down, and the room was freaking hot as hell. Because of this, I ended up staying up until 12 PM! I did have problems with insomnia beforehand but they never escalated like this before.

      [DREAM]

Because of this I ended up not having that many memorable dreams. I vaguely remember hearing some voices but whether that's because my overactive waking mind or not is left to be determined. I don't remember seeing much either, since it was drowned out by my waking thoughts and stuff.

      [THOUGHTS]

I really have to fix my insomnia problem if I want to do the CAT method after all. Starting today.
    3. TOTY Success - Rampage on an Elephant, Very Beautiful View

      by , 06-23-2017 at 10:38 PM
I finally got back to the TOTY tasks (in the BOLD section)...

11pm+ up 1148pm to bathroom 12am-btb 550am something based on recent thoughts and events. *605 btb perfect again! The earliest dream I recall at the moment is at <snip for privacy>. Next memory is riding on the hood of a truck on the side of the hood with one girl and the other more in the middle of the hood close to the windshield maybe CM and her sister C at this point (transitions to little Ms CM and my younger brother in law). It feels a little precarious sitting on the hood as we make some turns but the driver is driving slow so we don't fall off easily it seems. At some point we get off and I see yellow shoes on the street and as we drove a little further I wondered if it was her shoes that fell off and I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to try to go get them in traffic. We start walking wherever we're going and I see this vending company dropping off this taffy candy like thing, a refill of the machine I think and it looks like we're outside of a school. It looks like we're going in to the school probably a high school and I think how I thought last night that I didn't fix my hair when running an errand and I say to one of them that I wasn't planning on going anywhere so I didn't fix my hair or wear anything nice. Oh before that when we're walking I was saying you know your brother C (I'm confused, he's my younger brother in law) is real nice, it's nice to have a brother like that, but she's walking next to me instead of him and she's smiling. I asked "I wonder what you would call me?" and she just smiles. I was thinking something like Uncle or Brother and it looks like she was thinking boyfriend. Anyway we go into the school and it transitions to looking more like a hospital and more than a few horror scenes with injuries etc but I don't seem to be bothered by it. I'm mainly concerned with where she went and I ask one of the people we're with and they said that they think she walked down that way, so I walked down the hall with all of these open bays with patients in them and I must have realized how crazy this was or my lucidity just came to me and I realize that none of this matters, I am dreaming, and I just start dancing there in the hospital to the song of the summer "standing in the bright lights" whatever the name of the song is. At some point it transitions to a classic rock song from maybe the 70s. One of those pop rock songs. After a bit of dancing I think about the task of the year and try the same thing I tried before and this time it works! I basically say "that sounds like an elephant" and sure enough I start hearing the sound of an elephant, it's bugle cry and stampeding feet and it hasn't fully materialized last yet but I can hear it more and more and the hospital scene around me has turned gray and I see a flash of gray and I jump up floating up in the air and land on what I take to be the elephant until it materializes and I go riding off in what now is an open plains area and I say there is the jungle up ahead and shortly after I'm stampeding through a jungle on the back of this elephant. I remember how the task mentioned what sounded like a bit of a violent romp through the jungle and I didn't think that would be my kind of thing but it was quite a bit of fun especially knowing that none of this is real, no one's really being hurt. I now intentionally seek to trample villagers and small huts on my path through the jungle and I succeed in doing so but the joy was really in just the brisk gallop through the jungle. I get to this ridgeline and I'm looking down over this beautiful valley where the jungle starts to clear and I am taken by how clear and vivid and beautiful all of this is, much like I was taken by the extreme vividness of what I took to be HHs when I was first going back to sleep after short wbtb. In hindsight I think I was already dreaming at that "HH" point, probably NREM and then nothing before the REM started. By the beginning of REM my awareness wasn't there but it came back to me towards the end maybe 5 minutes before waking. Anyway back to the Jungle scene: I'm almost in tears at the beauty and completeness of the scene below me and I consider making myself wake up to recall everything fully. I don't remember making the decision to wake up but I wake up shortly after, whatever the reason. The strong set of grassy sea practices during wake back to bed, even if wake back to bed is short like in this case, seems to be a very effective for producing strong lucidity.
    4. Three dreams | Summary of the week

      by , 06-18-2017 at 07:41 PM
I got three non-lucid dreams, but I'm not writing them down now. I'm too lazy and they weren't that interesting. But here's what they were about:

#1: A city and a little poor boy
      #2: School and books
#3: My crush, some other boy and a store

Now I'm going to do a summary of the week, because that's what I do with my other DJ too. It's very simple, I just count (yes I count them) how many normal dreams, LDs and SPs I've recalled in total and for that week. Here it is:

      Total:

      Dreams: 968
      LDs: 93
      SPs: 29

      This week:
      Dreams: 12
      LDs: 2
      SPs: 29

That was it! I like doing this, because then I have a good change to view how the recent week has went in the dreamland.

    5. Pretty bad week for me

      by , 06-16-2017 at 04:11 PM (Nef's dream journal)
Bad or near to zero recall, 5 failed WILD attempts, deep sleep.
I really should RC more, so i can increase the chance of success . But then , I don't want to have an unstable DILD , dild never went good for me. I want to have a WILD , finally a lucid dream where i was lucid from the very beginning so it may be more stable , and would take more time , before I wake up.
Plus I need to find that dreamguide of mine, tried many times and failed to find it. I wonder if I have one? Or I have to create one myself?
Next week exams will be over so after I've done with them, I hope I'll have some LD's with the feel of relief.

    6. What?

by , 06-13-2017 at 04:39 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
      Kicked out

I'm standing in the doorway to my dream home with someone. Asuka is mad at me and telling me to get out because I'm drunk. I explain I'm not drunk and try to prove it in very long and coherent sentences.

      Raven's explanation.

I'm on Facebook chatting with Raven Knight. She sends me a message that reads: Read the signs. and has a link with it. I click it and I'm standing inside of her post. I see four dream journals scrolling down. I seen mine with the purple title's Raven's, Noad's and someone else's maybe viatorem's... There's text above the four journals... but then I notice another dimension to the text. The words hich I can't read are arranged to form other words. Read the signs she said I remember.

I'm inside the supposed dream she wants to show me. In it I am Bjork and Raven has me by the hand and we are flying through the forest. "This is how you died." she is saying. Then I see myself as a woman standing in front of a train. "No" I say... "It can't be." I'm frightened by it. I see myself get run over by the train. Then I see myself as an angry spirit chasing after the train. Then I realize that I never was Bjork... but a spirit who thought she was bjork when asleep.

      Fun with vehicles

I'm flying over a world map. I go past Israel and over by Saudi Arabia and wind up in some muddy place. I find a humvee jeep and steal it. People are chasing after me.

      Looking for a place

I wind up at Cousin K's looking for a place to stay. She has three houses all over town. I find one where she is currently and it's night time. The house is filled with friends of hers. I am smoking a cigarette. I am in the living room and I ask if I can rent a room in one of her houses, I tell her I am working overnights so money isn't a problem. She kind of nods. I get up and walk around, one of her friends follows me and asks me for a smoke. I notice sets of stairs everywhere I go exploring until I wake up.

    8. Oh noes!

by , 06-09-2017 at 03:34 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
I managed to get 2 hours of sleep in.

      Practice

Just a dream about sparring with someone. I was trying kung fu blocks and strikes. My opponent was blocking quite well and was surprised by my improvisation.

      Xereniak

Dream about being at his house. there was a big part that was slightly outside. We were on strung up sheets like a blanket hanging over an area. The gravity didn't effect much I was sitting on the edge of one. A woman came up to me from a tier up and had a smaller sheet in her hands she flung the other end to me. She says it's a mormon thing... okay, so I grab the ends and we wave it up and down. Not sure what the point of it is but seems fun. She disappears and I jump up to where she was. Spot Xereniak down below and tell him to come play the game. He won't and he's mad because I apparently left gatorade and empty coffee cups all over his house. He is flying about collecting them.

Later I go down and his dad is in a living room with a GIANT TV. It seems to be 4D or something seriously. The entire room seems to waver and shake depending what's on screen. Staring at it makes me dizzy. I suddenly realize I am smoking in the house. I decide to go outside with it even though his dad doesn't notice or seem to mind.

      Bjork in trouble

Just remember Bjork screaming at me and someone else. Her hair is unkempt and doesn't look well. She's yelling at us to get out get out. and she's shrieking. I will not get mad or upset at this. She probably needs healing.

    9. Observation Deck

by , 06-08-2017 at 07:51 PM (The Secret Life of Demons)
      Train Platform (nl/ld)

I'm hovering as I'm searching for something I'm not well aware. The dream in front of me, which I've stuck my head into, reveals a train platform. I observe a man and woman step out onto the platform from out of nowhere (they looked like they entered via invisible door). The pair are rushing, a man already on the platform looks as though he's expecting the pair. He stops them though and gestures to the water. I see that he's telling them they can't go this way. The man appears frustrated and rushed, holding onto the woman while assessing the water as though he's considerating a creative option. I'm now gazing at the water too which is entirely flooding the earth and is about to rise to cover the platform. Not much time left, they better get off that...

The couple exits in the same manner they arrived.

      Stealing from a Baby (nl)

I'm somewhere, still searching for something. This time I'm less searching and more exploring. While doing this I get hungry and some black woman has a car, with a cooler, and delicious snacks inside. I see her retrieve something for herself and I invite myself to her stash of edibles. She's selfishly generous and while she grants me access, I can tell she's unhappy about sharing. What she fails to realize is that I don't give a fuck what she thinks. I continue my exploration as I enjoy a banana yogurt combination thing. I reach a bridge, with that cup of heaven in hand, but begin waking before I can get a foot onto it.

      Notes

For whatever unknown reason the train platform reminded me of Shred, Asuka, and Data--not that I'm very educated on any of them, it just felt like them.
    10. In Search of Another

by , 06-07-2017 at 02:04 PM (The Secret Life of Demons)
Trying to Locate Man of Shred (ld)

It's a long way from where I am to where I need to find him. Worth the travel, if I can ever find him. The dreamscape is vast and the circles my mind has chosen to reside in (out of necessity) make travel inefficient. A father figure leads me through the country. He takes me through a field of tall grass which is clearly a road, but without cement. We enter a village area, the houses are smaller, about the size of single room lofts. Now I'm walking along the sidewalk and viewing the homes in the area as I pass them. The sunlight is softly fading through the windowpanes; the visual is quite lovely. Most of the homes are empty, but some have potted plants along the windowsill (inside). The town is quiet and deserted. I'm pondering the reasons for the emptiness and why we're taking our time to move through the town. I have no conclusion for why we've lingered.

      Home (nld & ld)

I've traveled home, without that father figure. I'm tying up loose ends and am on my way out from the dream. Right before I leave, the house beside mine produces a tone I recognize. I step out of the car to gaze up at the window it's originating. The tone I heard was very similar to a Tibetan singing bowl. I stare at the window, gaining some degree of lucidity, but the person is hiding. I think of Shred but I realize that it might be best to not proceed inward. He is calling for my attention with the tone, but there's no attempt for him to leave the house. Also, I'm on my way to the airport so there isn't enough time for me to knock on his door (I was seconds away from waking). I'll have to come back later.

      Notes

I feel as though I did find him (my spirit). Sadly, my recall has been neglected as I focused attention on restoration instead of exploration. I'm hoping to flip this now that I'm feeling restored to a greater degree.

    11. Dogs

by , 06-04-2017 at 04:16 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
      A visit.

I'm in the lobby of Cowboys casino where I occasionally play poker on my weeks off. A dog approaches me. It's C's dog Daisy the mother of my dog. She has a strange white knitted dog skirt on her. I pet her and rub her belly. C comes up to me and we leave in her van driving around. I forget what happens after.

      Court

I get badly beaten by remote viewers dressed as cops. I wind up in a courtroom with Bjork. She's ordering a restraining order and give a bunch of false testimonies against me. I'm given a chance to speak so I tell the court she's not even herself it's all manipulation by the remote viewers. I play a video for them of Bjork in a strange market, A person at a stand who has a dark aura give a sales pitch for a large flat item which she buys and then takes home. I then say that is how they got into her house to control her. Everyone looks at me like I'm insane. Judge rules I'm not to go near Bjork's house and that a shield will be put up with armed guards to keep her safe. They ask me what do I say to that: Piece of cake.

      Animal Guide

I'm going for a walk with my dog but I'm in a wheel chair because I can't walk from the beating. I'm on a street like one in chilliwack when a Lion crosses our path. My dog is suddenly off leash and approaches the lion. I am terrified that i will see my dog die. the lion acknowledges him but doesn't harm him. I turn my wheel chair around and the lion crosses my path. I am wondering why he isn't eating me or my dog right now. He just stys blocking my path not doing anything as if he's trying to tell me something. Note: When Asuka used to get attacked a lot I would get dream of a dog biting my arm. I'm curious if this is a similar messenger from Bjork?
    12. Whole lotta WTF.

by , 06-03-2017 at 03:54 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
Getting my sleeping schedule back to normal... Which will be adjusted again when I start nights next week.

      Confused

Kind of a divergent dream. I'm standing in a kitchen or on top of a wooden landing. In both versions a woman is pointing to a ladder which I go to climb down. In the kitchen version it's Asuka who is making herself look like bjork because she knows I like her looks, and there is also a trap door in the floor where the ladder is. In the wooden landing version it's bjork, but her smile is a little less sincere, a smile that is only trying to conceal something else. It's almost as if she's telling me to leave almost the way you tell a drunken customer that he's not only overstayed his welcome and is on the verge of causing an embarrassing scene - that he has already almost crossed the line. But what that line is: I'm not sure... I don't have much to go on as usual, no context, just half remembered dreams and tail ends of conversations that don't say as much and are as ambiguous as ever. She is also smiling in a way that says," come back tomorrow or another day when you are more yourself and we can conduct our business as usual." But what that business is exactly is a mystery wrapped inside and enigma and buried in so deep in Pandora's box that I could spend a lifetime, no... an ETERNITY trying to solve without more information or proper information...

I think what asuka is doing is kind of replaying the scene and trying it make it a more happy moment. I guess that's a better thing for Asuka to do, instead of giving bjork a series of nightmares.

      Creepy Hospital

Well, I've worn myself out typing that last dream so I will type the rest with less detail. In this dream I am outside a hospital that is a top secret military science gone wrong hospital. No outsider is allowed in and I'm with a bunch of protestors outside the fence clamoring to be let in. Me and another passerby have a small conversation about it at some point. we both agree that we saw a large skin sample being carried by a window that was made up of pig and human. At one point a giant black baby with acidic skin crawls out of the window and burns the grass. People in hazmat suits with flamethrowers burn it to a crisp. Disturbing.

I get bored of this somehow and check my phone. I'm on a bjork app where she is about to have a live chat with her fans on the app. I immediately want to ask her about my dreams. Does she think I'm mad for having them? Does she still pay attention to dreams? Does she remember me in her dreams? etc etc. But I decide not to, because I remember she already has a history of stalkers. The last thing I wanna do is scare her with strange questions so I put my phone away.

FA, I get out of a sleeping bag by the hospital. K from work walks by and says we better head to work soon. but instead I find a trapdoor that leads me to a basement where Alex Jones is living and is doing a live broadcast on the hospital. He says I can watch TV on one of his monitors. I begin watching one but he changes the channel and I give his shit for changing it because the show was getting good dammit. He just shrugs and continues his broadcast.

      Dark Tower Craft

Third person perspective dream of me watching. Roland from The Dark Tower and his Ka tet consisting of Jake, Eddie and Susannah are in a land rover driving by a mountain. Oy is running behind the vehicle. At the base of the mountain right below a sand cliff. They run into a Zergling Hatchery and get pulled under ground by a tentacle. I'm supposed to save them so I send a bunch of dragoons to destroy the Hatchery. they start getting killed from Sunken colony tendrils. I look and can't see any sunken colonies, but I spot that the earth is different in a line directly behing the Hatchery. so I shoot a gun at the line and kill all of the sunken colonies. I am about to spawn more dragoons when the dream ends.
    13. Successful Sled Ride! (FA-WILD + FA)

      by , 05-22-2017 at 04:43 PM
Ritual: The new Twin Peaks started last night, so I watched the usual Sunday shows in their second round and didn't get to bed until after 2am. I woke around 7 or 8 and looked at my iPad a bit, enough to wake up my mind, with the usual vague intention to make this into a WBTB, but the only other mental preparation I did was to remind myself that dreaming involves proprioreception, so I should pay attention to my whole body as I fell back asleep. It was 9am when I woke after the dream, which I felt had lasted only a few minutes.

FA-WILD: During my WBTB, my husband mentioned that he was going to the grocery store this morning, so when I was half-woken by the sound of the garage door, I knew he must have left. This much was evidently a real perception, but right after that, still believing I was half awake, I heard voices. I knew my brother was in his room on the other side of the house, but I couldn't account for the other voices. [DL: My brother lives on the other side of the country, and the room I thought he was in does not exist.] Was he on the phone? But there were several voices, and the sounds of people moving around. Had he invited friends over? Then I recognized one of the voices as that of my maternal grandmother. [DL: She died over twenty years ago.]

Despite the dreamlogic, these observations did actually make me wonder if I was dreaming the voices, not because of the incongruities that would have been obvious to a waking mind, but only because of my conviction that if my husband just left for the store, then no one else (besides my brother) should be in the house so early in the morning. I tested to see if I was getting any dream imagery, and sure enough, when I partially closed my eyes, the four flaps of a manually closed cardboard box appeared superimposed over the rumpled covers of the bed that I had thought I was seeing with my waking eyes. [DL: In retrospect, is it apparent that everything I observed after hearing the garage door was already in dream, so I was mistaken in believing that I had woken up. My mind was half awake, despite the dream logic, which is what led to the confusion about which perceptions were dreamed and which were real.]

I realized that if I was already seeing dream imagery, then if I was careful I could probably "get up" out of bed and into the dream just like I do in WILDs. This was easily done. I crossed the room, an accurate likeness of my bedroom, and opened the window to look outside toward what I understood to be my brother's room, on the second floor above the attached shed. [DL: The shed has no second storey.] The ground was covered with snow, and I did recognize that this was incongruous with the current season. It gave me the idea to do the TOTY that I had attempted a couple times earlier, the sled ride.

The last shot of the final show I watched last night was a woman diving backwards over the edge of a boat to go scuba diving. It made an impression on me because I had only ever dived into water face first, and at the time I had tried to imagine what it would feel like to enter the water that way. Now, as I was about to jump out the window, I decided to do it backwards like a scuba diver. For a moment I felt like I was falling and wondered if I would actually hit the ground, but then the nongravity of dream caught me pleasantly in an inverted arc, and I settled gently to my feet.

I remembered the last few times I had attempted the sled task, and how I had overcomplicated it to the point where I kept waking up before I could finish. This time I decided I'd better just get it done, even if my solutions weren't elegant. So instead of going to the trouble of finding or manifesting the necessary sled and mountaintop, I just asserted these conditions into existence. I'm on a sled, riding down a mountain. As is typical when I "brute force" things in dream, initially it felt like a fiction, but soon I began to feel plausible sensations of sitting on a sled and sliding down the snowy slope. It was far from my best work, but it sufficed.

I was sufficiently familiar with the task that before I had even intended it, my sled slipped through an irregular opening like the mouth of a cave, into a wide dark space. But then I wondered if this was good enough—I hadn't read the terms of the task in ages. Would a cave suffice, or did it have to be a proper hole through the surface of the earth? I couldn't remember, so I decided to play it safe and conjured a perfectly round hole, like the sort of thing you might see in a cartoon, just in front of me on the lower floor of the cave. My sled and I slipped right through, and at this point my interest perked up, because I didn't know what to expect, and had not planned or intended anything past this point.

It was dark down here, and I had no sense of the borders of the space, yet I could see the details nearest me perfectly well in the nonlight of dream. The place felt public and even familiar—familiar as a type rather than a specific location—but I can't think of how to relate it to anything in WL. A "town square" might be the closest analogue, but of course in WL town squares don't tend to be in enormous caverns underground.

I felt my mind shift over into observation mode and began to take deliberate note of the things I saw, but at the same time I felt really hungry and couldn't resist impulsively tasting everything. [WL: I hadn't eaten much for dinner and had even felt hungry again by the time I went to bed, so this was a genuine bleedthrough sensation.]

My sled had disappeared in the transition through the hole, so now I was on foot. The first object that I passed, on my left, was a piece of fabric that had been fashioned into the form of an elephant, about about eighteen inches wide. It was attached to the top of a pole stuck in the ground, elevating it to just above waist height. I pulled the fabric elephant off the pole to give it a closer look as I continued to walk. White was the dominant color, but the details were stitched in brightly-hued threads, red and blue and green. The base fabric had a thick pile, almost fur-like, akin to what you might see on a stuffed animal, but the object overall was flat, lightly padded like a thin quilt. My hunger impelled me to take a big bite, and in my mouth it had the taste and texture of a sort of bland taffy. (Tastes are rarely very distinctive in my dreams.) I dropped it and moved on.

The next object I encountered was also on a waist-high pole, and about the same size as the elephant. This one was made of paper and a bit more three-dimensional—it resembled a large origami fish folded from patterned paper. The taste and texture were even less remarkable, but I was so hungry it felt good to be chewing something.

As I observed with mild amusement the way my hunger was driving me to try to eat things that didn't even resemble food, the rational part of my mind responded that this being a dream, there was no reason I shouldn't try to eat literally anything I could see. I put this to the test, breaking off random bits of any surface I came across and nibbling on them. One thing I remember distinctly was a table. It was a round table covered by a long, dark-hued tablecloth. I think there was a vase of flowers in the center but otherwise it was bare, so I grabbed a hank of the tablecloth and started noshing on that. I was cramming far more in my mouth than I ever would in WL, but I didn't worry since I knew that this stuff had no real substance.

I was still in snacking mode when I came across a white-bearded gentleman in a navy blue blazer. The bronze buttons caught my eye, and without so much as saying hello, much less asking permission, I reached out and twisted off the top button, bringing it to my eyes for a closer look. Tiny convex letters around the top spelled out "Bartholomew," and a small human figure occupied the center of the button. "Saint Bartholomew?" I asked the gentleman from whom I had taken the button, while trying to remember if there was really such a saint or if I was just free associating. [WL: I still wasn't sure so I googled it. Apparently Saint Bartholomew was an apostle, and although I was not consciously aware of that, I suspect the influence of day residue, because in The Leftovers last night several disciples were mentioned, and I've never been able to keep disciples and apostles straight.] The man shook his head, and when I looked again at the button I saw the letters rearrange themselves into the name "Balthus," which seemed to make a bit more sense... in a way that I can't entirely explain. Still hungry, I licked the button. I thought it tasted a bit sour and metallic, a bit like licking a D battery but without the tingle. The bronze button had been darkly tarnished but now gleamed where I had licked it, so I licked it a few more times to polish the highlights. I looked at the letters again and now they read "Ubewiz," a name meant nothing to me, though I thought it sounded vaguely Polish. [DL: I just noticed the symmetry between the verb "polish" and the adjective "Polish," so I suspect dreamlogic lay behind this observation.]

FA: I woke up (so I thought) and immediately fished my dream journal out of the bottom drawer of my bedside table. [WL: This was a realistic detail, because although usually I keep it right on the table next to the bed, for the past few days it has been in the drawer.] I flipped through it and couldn't find a single blank page, but I didn't want to waste any time so I started writing my notes in the margins. I was jotting down keywords: "Bartholomew, Balthus, Ubewiz," read the first line. Then I included brief notes about the fabric elephant and origami fish. I hadn't gotten very far when I woke up again and realized that I had been taking my initial notes in a false awakening and would have to start over, so once again I pulled my journal out of the drawer and wrote—grateful for the blank page this time—"Bartholomew, Balthus, Ubewiz."

    14. Dream - Stack 'Em High & Demolished Grounds

      by , 05-21-2017 at 02:42 PM
Date of Dream: SUN 21 MAY - 2017

Dream No. 117 - Separated Sections

Dream 117 A - Stack 'Em High (Lucid Dream 7)
I forgot how I became lucid but I knew I was lucid because I was always consciously aware of things. I was in a small storeroom with this large filing cabinet of three levels. On the third level, there was some nest with one egg inside it. I was ambitious about getting the egg out of that nest for some reason. The first thing I did was call for Dreamy WB.

She entered the storeroom very quickly after I called. First, she ended up giving me the biggest hug ever in dream history and I am not joking when I say this. In the dream, I said that hugging her was like hugging a really soft sponge... We hugged for quite a long time. Then she helped me by lifting me up to the nest. It's like she was partially lifting me and still hugging me at the same time. Still, I couldn't reach it. So then Mr. B came in and he lifted Dreamy WB up. So the chain was now Mr. B on the ground, then Dreamy WB, then me who this time, successfully got the egg. I don't remember what happened after that.

      Dream 117 B - Demolished Grounds
I came to Killester for a visit and my main objective was to look for WB. As I made my way to the quadrangle area, most of the place looked destroyed like a mini world war 3 had broken out. Additionally, there were these metal wire construction fences blocking off some areas, including the walkway from the year 9 area to the oval. To get over the fence, I once again found myself using the Balloon Mario method based on Super Mario 64 DS. When I got over the two lots of fences, I made my way to the oval. When scanning the oval, there was no WB... Only junior PE classes in action.

So turned back and went to the edge of the quadrangle. When there, I assessed my surroundings again and thought that maybe WB was having English in the library. Usually, there is an accessible staircase next to the art rooms but in the dream, there was not. The only available staircase was the main one where the lift was. So I went back over the fences and then scanned the area where the staircase was... Supposed to be! The main staircase was non existent, at least so I thought. There were remnants of the top half of the staircase in which the bottom half had been broken off like the school had demolition day. I looked to see where there were accessible stairs. I eventually caught sight of the newly placed staircase which does not exist in the waking life Killester.

Leading up to the staircase was this long wooden walkway and in the middle of the walkway, I noticed Mr H conducting a choir. Still, I thought I'd stop by the choir in case WB was in that... But I soon noticed she wasn't. There were a lot of girls and so the space of the walkway was very crowded. Additionally, some strange gravity was always making me fall backwards and almost tip over off the walkway. Eventually, the weird gravity started to affect the girls in the choir as well.

The dream scene then skipped to me talking to my mum in the car. I was saying to her that I was going to stay longer as I realised the year 12 graduation assembly was today. Either I don't remember what happened after that or I woke up.

      V Behind The Scenes V

      116 A: Why Lucid?
Although Dream No. 116 A followed a non lucid plot, I felt like I was really aware of my surroundings and the things that were happening. When I am non-lucid, my goals appear to be blurred and I sometimes use crazy methods to get them... Like you know what you want but then at the same time, you're not sure how to reach that goal. In a lucid dream, I clearly know what I want my first resort is to call Dreamy WB. It's sad that I don't remember how I entered the lucid state as it would have been good to write the reality check here to prove it to anyone reading... As well as just to basically share insight on how I got lucid, not just that I was lucid. I think I might do a comparison chart below as to what non-lucid dreams feel like, compared to lucid dreams.

      Non-Lucid Dreams

      1. Summoning Dreamy WB

There are multiple approaches in non-lucid dreams. First, I find myself looking for her
rather than just calling for her. Also, I sometimes my get the real version instead of
the intended dream guide. Although I'm in non-lucid dreams, I can still tell who is who,
even in the slightest personality differences... It doesn't always have to be nice and
nasty. Sometimes, they're both nice but the real one acts more informal and teen like
whereas the dreamy figure acts more motherly like. Basically, she's unpredictable in
non-lucid dreams and sometimes, I can't even get her at all.
      2. Interacting With The Environment
Anything can happen in a non-lucid dream. Also, it's like the environment controls me.
I can't really interact with the environment fully, I can only do what it tells me to do. For instance, I know I could have reached WB's place if I wanted to but because it was a
non-lucid dream, I remained lost because I was unable to command an instant change,
rather the plot just flowed as it was going to, all the way until the end of the current REM
      cycle.
      3. Ambitions
My goals aren't so straight forward. Additionally, I find I may only set a certain task if a
problem arises first. I guess dreams would be meaningless if there wasn't a storyline to
      follow along to.
      4. Dealing With Problems
In non-lucid dreams, the solution doesn't come to me straight away. Additionally, I may appear scared of confused in front of the enemies I face. Even if I start out strong, I feel
the enemy always finds a way to weaken me before my dream ends. Especially in nightmares, I am completely helpless and cannot even feel my dream guide's energy around anyway.
      5. In Summary
The dream tells me what to do. The more violence, the less I can feel energy and instead, I feel rather deserted and lost.

      Lucid Dreams
      1. Summoning Dreamy WB
This works pretty much all the time! The first thing I do when I realise a lucid state is call specifically for Dreamy WB. Additionally, if there is no response, the lucid state allows me to keep persevering whereas in a non-lucid, I could risk losing focus.
In lucid dreams, she always arrives promptly and greatly assists with the task at hand.
      2. Interacting With The Environment
I find that I interact better with the environment, having a connection to it rather than being the environment's puppet. I can actually also assess the sensations. For instance, I may not have described Dreamy WB's hug so vividly if I wasn't lucid. Additionally, in Dream No. 93, I knew it was fading, whereas if I was non-lucid, I wouldn't have realised that the dream was exiting.
      3. Ambitions

In lucid dreams, I know what I want and am able to stay focused, even if non-lucid aspects of the lucid dream try to set me off course. Most importantly, I find myself having an ambition as soon as I enter lucidity, there is no hesitation.
      4. Dealing With Problems
So far in lucid dreams, I haven't encountered any real evil yet. I predict that it would be the same as the above 3 points. I predict Dreamy WB going to the root of the problem rather than me having to go on a quest to get help. Also, I think I may be able to assess the dangers before making a move rather than suffering from a wrong choice, influenced by non-lucid plots.
      5. In Summary
I have a higher awareness and I actually know what I want, rather than being lost and confused and just pushed around by a pre-written story plot. Additionally, since Dreamy WB can be summoned from the start, nightmares won't be a lonely, heart attack causing encounter

    15. Behind The Scenes - Dream No. 113

      by , 05-14-2017 at 07:49 AM
I was ecstatic once I woke up and realised I had this dream. This is actually the first time I have had a task to accomplish in a lucid dream rather than just aimlessly bumming around in them.

      Dream No. 113

      The Realization
As soon as I became lucid, I was instantly aware that there was a task waiting for me. Just yesterday, I lifted my practice to extreme measures compared to usual. I wrote a pretend letter to my "Dreamy Guardian" and this morning, I also thought I'd try WBTB. I quietly said to my dreamy guardian before bed, "Can you wake me up at 5 in the morning?". I found out in the morning that I woke up at 5:42, so she was 42 minutes late but it was still in the 5:00 hour span. I then said to myself in the morning, "You're not falling asleep until 6", so I'd at least I'd have 15 minutes awake. I don't remember staying awake until 6, I think tiredness took over early, so I may have only spent 5 - 10 minutes awake. But the time I had the stick dream was after this 5:42 AM WBTB period.

      The Stick's Attitude
When the stick appeared, it was just laying there, waiting for me to do something to it. I think this dream's approach was like "if you leave nature alone, it will leave you alone"... Also like "If you harm nature, you'll be sorry" OR "never underestimate the power of nature". The term I used to describe this stick to my family this morning was "this little passive-aggressive stick".

      Tournament Abilities
I realised I had used both abilities in dream. Now that I'm awake I realize I could never damage the stick if dreamy WB didn't paralyse it... It just kept growing back on me. I imagine that the stick was undergoing rapid mitosis to replace damaged cells but Dreamy WB must have induced some form of apoptosis (controlled cell death). I also think that the head was the only part that could re-grow and no other parts of the stick had this ability, just like a plant can keep growing but if you pull it out of the ground, it eventually dies.

I'm so surprised that the dream took into consideration the 30 second rule for Tier C (and Tier B) enemies... And it was exactly 30 seconds, no time manipulation like 29 or 31 seconds. Also, the dream didn't mess up my counting either, it perfectly went from 1 - 30. It's like the dream knew I was using myself as a timer and the rules of waking time were kept.

The second ability "bandage" was used in the toothpick scene. I did specify that Dreamy WB would use the correct body part to cover the surface area of the injury... I described her hand or her whole body, but I never thought about just a finger, so the dream one-upped me there. Come to think of it, her hand would have been way too big to get into the eye area, so her finger was just the right healing instrument.

      Staying Focused
It's like the dream was using my mum to distract me out of lucidity. What I find amazing is that I was able to stay so focused and not be forced out of the dream... This is the first time I was able to stay so focused. I remember in Dream No. 93, that dream spat me out when I wasn't finished.

      Physical Attack
In the battle terms, I did state that my primary attack was "ice flail". Now I am not a master of lucidity yet and so I am still susceptible to some aspects of the dream manipulating me. What the dream did do was manipulate the purpose of my primary attack into breaths rather than a piece of equipment. And it went through the whole elemental cycle too. I think the dream knew I wanted ice and that's why it put that element last... The dream was testing me to see if I would be tempted by my other 3 potential elements. As I knew I'd be cheating, I did make it so that fire, earth and electricity would have no effect.
