      Non-lucid + DILD - ToTM attempt

I was wandering with three sisters. From conversation with them, I received an information that they are princesses, an evil queen took the throne, and they are in a serious danger. I wanted to help them, but didn't knew how.

We were moving away from the main road, close to the forest. When getting closer to a village, we spotted some mercenaries of the evil queen. I lied down on the ground. It was cold, I felt grass touching my skin. Two of the princesses hidden behind the trees, but one of them spotted a carriage, and ran to it.

The carriage stopped in front of her. She thought that it was her mother inside, but then the evil queen went out of it. The other princesses ran to help her, and all of them were kidnapped by queen. I decided to try and help them. I grabbed the carriage in the last moment, and it started flying to the sky.

When getting close to the clouds, I lost my strenght and fallen. When close to the ground, I suddenly teleported to another place. It was dark dungeon. I found a torch and lit it. It was empty, I felt alone... left behind. I entered a huge chamber. There was an old man in dark robe in the middle of the room. He had completely white eyes.

He turned around and looked at me. Telepathically he sended my information about who he is. It was a powerful necromancer, surrounded by creatures summoned by his enemies. I grabbed a stick lying on the ground, and wen to the lower level of dungeon.

I opened the door, and faced a melon monster. A huge melon with razor-sharp teeth, walking on two frog-like legs. I bashed it with stick, until it collapsed into a few melon slices. I found another such creature, and killed it too. The stick broke when I dealt the last blow.

The I felt strange. Everything was blurred. The necromancer teleported me to the exit of the dungeon. It was a gratitude for my help. I opened a hatch, and found myself in the basement of my home. I went to the kitchen, and met my siblings.

The eldest sister when looking at the broken stick told me:

      - Hey! This was my stick before!

      - Yeah... it was.

I went outside, and found a huge swing in the middle of my backyard. I used it for a while, and then entered my home.

Suddenly I realised that it's a dream. I took another stick lying for some reason in my home, and went outside. I tried to point to the ground with it, and got teleported to place I pointed. I tried it a few more times, but it didn't worked. I felt that I slowly lose lucidity, and I thought to myself "This is my dream. I am lucid dreaming."

It was enough to make the dream more stable. I tried to teleport with a stick again, but this haven't worked. I though again "This is my dream. This would work now." And repeated my last activity, to no avail.

Then I recalled the basic task for this month. I looked at my neighbors house. I decided to go jogging. I ran for the street. I wasn't running with unbelievable speed, but I was running quite quickly. Surrounding area changed from countryside wih forests at summer, into autumn tones.

Everything get blurred on the sides, only the area in front of me stayed sharp. I decied to turn left, and ran through and old village. I made a few turns around old buildings, and ran back. The road in front of me was empty. I saw my house in the distance. I ran much more quicker.
When getting closer to the gate of my house, I lost lucidity and woke up.
    2. It can be done! I'm hooked :D

      Hey everyone!

I was so happy that some of you commented on my first Lucid and DJ entry. You were right it does get frustrating! I was so close multiple times when I first started going for my second lucid dream (also had my first false awakening within that first week, and my first nightmare in a very long time), but it seemed to get harder to keep focus and confidence as time past, it even got harder just to write down my dreams. I had some really good vivid dreams when I did my first wake back to bed's, but they seemed to get more and more fragmented and unsure. Yesterday evening I could feel myself giving up slightly and I didn't even think of dreaming before I went to sleep. In the morning my BF woke up early to go to the university. It woke me up and I went to the bathroom before I went back to bed.

In my dream I was walking around on the balconies of a very large castle when I suddenly became aware that I was in a dream and I became conscious. I felt the incredible rush of the realization and to ground myself I immediately slapped my hands together and started rubbing them against each other. I did it! I stabilized the dream and I walked inside the castle. It was much less impressive inside. It looked more like a ruin than a castle. I began thinking "what was I supposed to do now?" and I remembered the basic task of the month which said to take a shower in your dream and I started looking for a bathroom. And found a few, but they were both gross and as I was leaving the second bathroom I heard the door to my real room open and I knew it was my BF coming in to say goodbye. AAAAAARGH NOOOOO ! Oh well, I went back to sleep and had a normal non-lucid dream about a kidnapping at a hotel, somehow I turned of my alarm without me remembering it (again!), but maybe that was what triggered my next lucid dream (THANK GOD!)

This time I became lucid in a restaurant at a hotel. I was walking around looking at people's food and one pizza looked particularly good, I wanted to take it, but it belonged to a guy who sat at a table with three other guys and I was not going to risk them getting mad. Again I remembered the TotM and I went into one of the rooms at the hotel, somehow my female childhood friend was there and she goes with me to bath. We are laughing and I remember the water splashing as it hit her back as she bent down a little (She is fairly tall) the water was warm, but I don't remember the tactile feeling all that well (I hope this means I did my first TotM!) After that I went down to the lobby and out back behind the hotel where I meet 3 or 5 DC's that like to follow me around like a gang of some sort. It's nighttime outside and there are stars in the sky. It makes me want to fly, but when I try nothing happens. The others start looking at me weird so I stop, there are so many other things to do after all. As we walk through the darkness we come through some weird places. At some point we are walking along side a road and I remember the other TotM which says jog and observe the change in scenery, but at that moment we arrive at a beautiful house. We enter and I sit down by a table. By this time I am aware in my dream that this dream is very long and I am worried it may be hard to remember it all, so I find a piece of paper and a pen and I start writing the beginning of my dream down, but every time I finish a word it turns to doodles, so I stop and we go out into the big beautiful garden. There is water springing from some rocks in the middle of the garden, down into a small lake. In there lives some sort of large sea monsters, as the others look at them I walk to the stone wall surrounding the garden and sit on it. Here I find a bowl filled with some old stuff, including a piece of cake which I eat thinking I will need fuel for my jog (TotM), but in that moment the dream dissolves and I wake up.

I am so happy I kept at it! It only took me 3 weeks to have my second lucid experience. Hopefully it will be even shorter between the next ones !

    3. Interstellar ISS

      by , 04-04-2015 at 10:34 PM (The Kestrel's Dreams)
      April 04, 2015

I was standing over a large room. It's was if there was a balcony at the top of the room to oversee everything. It was all bare except for a pool. I decided to have it filled, so I could invite my brothers and friends over to swim. By the time it was filled, the others had arrived and we all started swimming. We were like cows/sheep in Minecraft, though; all of us crowded to one corner/end of the pool. And then two of my classmates set up one of those floating barriers so we were all stuck in this space.

I decided I was uncomfortably crowded where I was so I called over to the ones making the barrier and told them to open us up to the rest of the pool. It was my pool, so I could do what I wanted with it. People started to disperse, and I felt better. I realized that there were a whole bunch of nerdy celebrities in the pool, not just my family and friends. Actors from so many different Sci-Fi or otherwise nerdy series were there and I couldn't believe my eyes. Then My little brother, who was floating next to me, smiled and said, "You still think you're awake, don't you?"

I looked at him, confused, and then at my hands. My fingers were all different lengths and there was one too many of them. I was dreaming! I was a little bit disconcerted that a DC had said something like that. Isn't that not usually supposed to happen...? I let it go, and jumped out of the pool to hover above it. I tilted myself so I hung upside down to think of which tasks I wanted to try first. I figured I would do the portable portal task first, so I rummaged in my pocket (I was fully clothes even when I was in the pool) until I felt something paper-like. I pulled out a folded black piece of circular paper. Perfect! I unfolded it and noticed that it was pretty small, somewhere between the size of my hand and the size of my head. It didn't bother me, though, as it would probably get bigger when I placed it on the ground. I was already hanging upside down so I simply slapped the piece of paper down toward the ground below me. It stuck itself to the ground and I shot right into it head-first, hoping the portal would take me to an advanced civilization or the ISS.

I seemed to be falling down a long black tunnel for a few moments. In the next instant I was sitting in a corner of the living room back home. Not really an advanced civilization, but I'll take it.

And then there was a siren or something. I heard the beaming sound from Star Trek, and about 20 red-shirts and 10 medical staff in formation appeared in front of me. The living room had no furniture and these Star Trekkers were small. They started dancing and singing a song about their bananas being theirs and no one else's... There was also something about a marmoset in the song, but I don't remember the lyrics all that well. Three of the red-shirts broke off from the formation with huge gun-like things. I watched as they walked toward me, turned back to their companions, and shot colored foamy stuff at them. Funny thing, only the red-shirts got covered it it even though the medical staff was scattered through out the ranks.

What interesting advanced tech, I thought.

I decided I still wanted to visit the ISS. I had just watched Interstellar that night so I was pretty excited about this. I walked outside, and noticed a Turkey Tom perched on the basketball hoop in my neighbor's half of the driveway. At first it ignored me but then it turned toward me and just sorta stared at me. I told myself to ignore it and reminded myself this was my dream and I could make it leave. I walked out to the center of the driveway and when I looked back at the hoop, the creepy turkey was gone. My cousin was now there, and she handed me the water softener my dad bought last time I was home. She said I would need soft water where I was going.

Holding onto this clunky water softener, I looked up from where I stood. It was foggy, or cloudy, or both. I couldn't see the stars... I jumped up to fly fast upwards but for some reason could only go fairly slowly. I was just passing the tops of the tall trees in the yard when I looked up again. It was still foggy and I could see the silhouettes of giagantic trees far above me. It was kinda cool and beautiful, but I wanted to get out to space... I landed, tried again with a fresh start, but was going even slower this time. Exasperated, I threw the water softener, realizing I had been stupid to keep holding it. I did another RC to stabilize my control; my fingers still looked all wonky and I decided to try flying from the field instead of from the driveway. I flew over the trees lining my yard and landed in the field. As I passed over the trees, the world was suddenly snowy, and I brushed icy snow from the top of a tree. By the time I landed in the field, there was no snow again, and there was no fog but there were still clouds.

I decided to try a different method this time, and instead of looking upwards as I flew, I looked down at the ground. It was closer and I could more easily envision what would happen as I shot upwards, as I'd done this lots of times in Minecraft on creative mode. I used my hands to make a sort of window so I could only see part of the ground, and jumped upwards, thinking of a rocket launching. I shot off from the ground at an incredible speed and watched as it flew further and further away from me. I watched as my house/yard became a circular patch in the middle of a vast plane or wheat/corn fields. I got higher and higher and decided to pause for a moment. I stopped on a dime, and looked around. To the north, there was a huge lake or ocean, and an island on it. I could see a line of houses along the coast of this small island and somehow I just knew that this was the fabled Guinea Pig Island one of my students had told me about last month. I went just a little bit lower to see what kind of advanced Tech they had. I noticed thousands of tiny flying craft. I assumed each of them had a guinea pig in it. There was also some sort of crazy machine at the top of a building. It had moving arms and I wasn't really sure what it was doing. I flew further north and saw various colonies of various advanced-looking civilizations and cities, and then I hit the coast. There was endless water from here on out. I continued flying at high speed over the water, getting higher and higher and higher. Everything got brighter and brighter and the sun, which was to my right and setting, was flaring more and more. Then I hit some sort of threshold and things got gradually bluer and darker. I looked up and could see stars even though I knew it was daytime on the ground directly below me. I got excited and kept pushing, expecting to run across the ISS any time now. I spotted something out of the corner of my eye and there it was! Well, actually it was the Endurance from Interstellar. Close enough, yeah?

I flew up to it and knocked on a window to get someone to let me in. I was tickled giddy that my subC didn't allow any sounds in space. I didn't hear the knocking and I couldn't hear myself when I called out to the guy who was inside. It was Chris Hadfield haha!

      He let me into the Endurance but I woke up shortly after, before I could talk to Chris ; u ;

    4. 02.04.2015. DILD: wonderful, long lucid #100, jogging and flying around a beach and a seaside town.

      by , 04-02-2015 at 09:50 PM
Went to bed at 23:10 for 30 min, then at 00:00. WBTB at 04:40 for 20 min. While lying down, rehearsed the Raduga separation technique and made my affirmations. Had mild anxiety and stayed awake for quite some time (over an hour). At some point, I realized that I was looking at a seaside scenery and the image was quite bright. I quickly imagined bringing my hands forward and moving in the scenery. The vividness of the scenery increased and I was there, walking in the seaside street. Yes! I was so happy! I remembered the jogging TotM and decided to keep on walking and observing the scenery. I was walking on a dirt road and on my left was a beautiful sandy beach.
A few bushes were on both sides and beyond the sea, I saw a strange silvering mountain with some kind of flag on top (if that was real, the flag would be huge) that changed shape as I was looking at it. I kept walking and the scenery didn't change a lot, apart from going uphill and downhill and passing by a few trees. Then I noticed that I was being followed by 2 old men. I felt uncomfortable, so I stopped and pushed them both down - knowing its a dream, so it's not bad to do so - and kept walking. I then reached the edge of a really high cliff.

I jumped and started falling really fast. I feared that I would loose visuals as I was floating very high off the ground, so I concentrated on the feel of the air on my hands - that strangely I could feel on my left hand only. Just before touch-down, I glided forward and flew straight upwards. I was over a seaside town and I was trying to maneuver my flight. Having some difficulty, I grabbed the (imaginary) parachute controls - that I had successfully used in another lucid - and started accurately directing my flight. While on air, I tested all movements and I saw that turning left-right and stopping worked immediately, but gaining height had some delay and didn't always work as expected. So, I continued to fly over the house-tops and through the seaside village, immensely enjoying my flight - even though the control was not perfect.

At some point, I felt that my parachute got stack -at an antenna? - so I just let it go, fell on the roof-top and jumped back up, imagining a new control and continuing my flight. At this point, I think that I lost some of the initial lucidity. Some kids are looking up and admiring my flight, so I land and say: come with me, I will show you how to do this. We walk and we come at the same dirt-road I was in the beginning and there were the 2 old men. This time I recognized them as my Father and my Father-in-law and I was very sorry for what I had done... I hugged them, asked them to forgive me and they said: it's ok, go show these kids how to fly! So we walk further trying to find the high cliff - but it's not there anymore. We reach a home and get inside, where in a large hall there are lots of kids asking me if I can fly and how to do it. I said: you first need to know that you are dreaming - and I demonstrate to them a positive finger-through-palm RC. One-by one they successfully try it (one also extended his fingers), so we conclude that we are all dreaming and I say: come with me to show you how to fly! But as we move outside,
the dream fades and I am back in bed... I tried the Raduga separation technique but I was quite awake. Tried to go back to sleep so I could have another Lucid but I soon realized that it was late and I was well rested, so I got up and wrote this down, very happy for my Lucid!

    5. Non-lucid and [DILD] ToTM attempt

      by , 03-28-2015 at 10:08 AM (Snehk's Dreamlands)
      Pact of the witches

I was with my class in forest. We were felling trees and processing them for timber production. I took a chainsaw, but there was a problem with starting it. I checked the level of oil and fuel, and had enough for two hours of work. There were still problems with it, so I decided to take them to classmates, so they can look what's wrong with it.

I joined to the group. We were waiting for something near a forest inspectorate. Some of classmates disappeared, and the rest went away to continue work. With a few guys we decided to check what really is inside the building of inspectorate.

We opened the door and saw a temple for a dark god. There were witches inside. One of them came closer to us. She was wearing light brown dress, had a red hair and dark grey eyes. She told us about a pact with forest inspectors. They could kidnap people in forest for magical help with tree felling.

We went outside, but two guys decided to stay inside. One guy that went with us was friends with one of the guys that stayed with witches. I said Pact of the witches?! And why did that guy stayed with them? The man told me Don't worry about him, he was an idiot.

We went to our work. There was a huge valley full of cut down trees. I saw other classmates working. Suddenly I heard that they lost some plans, and it was late to look for them. I decided to go and find them. I took a weak flashlight that gave faint light.

I was moing through the darkness. I looked around to see if I can find those plans. My flashlight was running out, but I found another one, lying near a tree. I searched that area, as they could leave the plans close to the flashlight. I couldn't find them there, so I searched the next area.

I went straight a road. Suddenly I saw a creepy face, staring at me from behind the bushes. I wasn't scared, even though I was surrounded by darkness, my biggest fear. I just went back, trying to join with the group.

      ToTM attempt

I was walking in the docks. I saw my father walking there, and two attractive girls from my class. Suddenly I realised that this is a dream. I did a nose plug RC, to check it, and I was sure that I was dreaming. The girls wanted to open a hut standing there. I shouted Stop! Two times and time stopped, right after one of them opened the door. I looked inside the hut, and there was a witch from the previous dream. I closed the door, and fought that I'll do the Basic task 1 after Advancd task 2. I moved the girls to weird position. One was trying to jump onto the roof, and the other was kneeling. I forgot about unfreezing time, so I decided to have some fun with the freezed girls. I stripped them from clothes and did my thing. I woke up rather quickly.
    6. A quick trip through a mirror

      by , 03-26-2015 at 12:15 AM
I came across a mirror lying on the floor, remembered the TOTM and went lucid. The mirror's rather small for this - I take hold of the edges and pull it wide enough to stretch out on top of it. Initially, unusually, the mirror showed me my reflection - I focus on the background behind it, and it goes black. I briefly imagine stars in that blackness, but don't actually see them; that acts as a trigger, and I sink into the mirror as if it's liquid.

On the other side, I'm walking out of an apartment building into an alley. I have a thought that this is supposed to represent somewhere in Wyoming; but looking around at the buildings, the vending machines, this definitely looks like Japan. I wonder if that's just my mind filling in the setting with familiar memories, or if this is actually meant to be Japan; I keep walking, figuring it'll work itself out, and I had no particular goal here anyway.

I cut through a shopping area where people are eating, listening to them talk, no one saying anything particularly interesting to listen in on. I'm uncertain whether I'm visible to others; my initial impression had been that they couldn't see me, which is how I preferred it, but there do seem to be a few people here and there who notice.

Out of the shopping area and onto a main street, there are Christmas lights in the trees here. I cross the street and find the sidewalk's lined with little garden plots, blocked off by ropes - some kind of display, or some kind of competition maybe. One such plot holds a tree that fascinates me - it's white, not much taller than I am, gnarled, no leaves, and covered here and there in pale green moss with small blue flowers. Very beautiful.
    7. (L) Fun, Mystic and going to the mirror world (TotM)

      by , 03-25-2015 at 12:41 PM
I was close to my elementary school. I do not remember this part that well, but I became lucid and I started to fly, but in a weird way.. It could look like I got pulled up in the air with a leash around my waist. I flew to the elementary school, and walked around. It looked very different from what it does in waking life, it was like some of the building I went it to were minecraft on 2 walls and real walls on the others.
The minecraft walls were tall so I thought it would be fun to run up alon them. on the walls there were minecraft wood fences, which were impossible to get over.. So I got down into that room again.
I heard knocks or something, and I look over at an opening to another room. The knocks and the way that opening looked just told me that things was not good there. I walked away and then I heard it from a window. I walked over to the windows and saw 3 dream characters a man, boy and a girl. They played on music instruments while they just looked into the air with a natural face.
I tried to push myself through the wall, but I was not allowed to so I walked away from the windows and I noticed that there now were a mirror where the opening to the creepy room where. I stood in front of it and noticed that I did not have a relfection, and thus came my reflection from the same side I came from, and did the things I did just seconds ago, so it was delayed, which were fun but also weird to experience. My reflection started to get white eyes that started to glow, so I turned my back on it and moved on.
After I turned my back on it, I noticed that there were more mirrors and I got reminded of the TotM, so I thought "Oh yay! Now I can do the TotM" so I ran towards the mirror I was facing and jumped into it. There was no resistance, I went through like nothing was there.
The room I jumped in to were like a flipped version of the room I just came from, it was pink-ish (I can't explain how it looked but it makes me think of a sunset). There was a pile of kids toys on the floor including a mp5. I thought of another thing I had wanted to do for some time, and it was to use a portal gun (Portal video game). So all I expected was that it shooted portals, and it did. I shot it down on the ground and an orange portal appeared. I walked onto it, and nothing happened, so I randomly just shot up on the roof and then I woke up.

This was the lucid dream I had yesterday.
    8. The Pill of Truth!

      by , 03-18-2015 at 10:20 AM
I was at a party at my parents' house. Numerous friends from my past were there, but I was too awkward to talk with any of them. When I woke up from that dream, I was determined to work on my anxiety issues, so I stayed still and waited for another dream to start.

I could see one of my old friends from middle school, Eric. I tried to talk with him but the dream hadn't fully formed yet. I waited a little longer and I noticed that I was in a pink bedroom - it reminded me of a bedroom that I once saw at a party in France. I looked around for Eric but I couldn't see him anywhere, so I decided to go find random people to talk with.

I wandered out of the room and into what appeared to be an apartment complex. There were random people walking all over the place, it was QUITE busy, I guess there was a party going on somewhere. I started talking to random DCs, having conversations with them and working through the discomfort. The more I did it, the more comfortable I felt. One of the DCs that I talked with was this woman that was going to her apartment with her dog, she had vivid green eyes, dark skin, and light brown hair. I talked with her for a couple minutes and she invited me into her apartment where she was having a party. She introduced me to her girlfriend and I told them both how beautiful I thought they were, they thought I was gay.

I walked around for a few minutes, exploring their apartment. It looked like a pretty expensive place, they even had a fully stocked bar with a bartender that was making drinks for everybody. I was getting a little tired of practicing so I decided it was time to do some tasks! I remembered the pill/potion task first, so I walked up to the first DC I saw and started talking with him. He was a bit chubby and he looked like he had down syndrome.
I asked him if he had the pill that I was looking for and he immediately took it out of his pocket and handed it to me. The pill was light green and had a four leaf clover on it. I looked around for some water because I was super thirsty, and I found a water bottle that had the words "Red or Blue" written on it (incubated by ~Dreamer~'s matrix pill dream). I swallowed the pill and chased it with some water, then the world around me immediately vanished/fell apart. I felt like I was falling through a black void. I appeared in my body, back on some bed. I couldn't move, feel, or interact with the body, it felt like I was just watching, completely detached from the world, acting purely as an observer. I could only hear a loud humming, it was very relaxing.

After a couple minutes of relaxing there, I remembered that I wanted to try another task. I made the body move like I was moving it with telekinesis, until I felt like I was actually in it. I left the room and there was absolute darkness. Rather than panicking, I remembered to try some tricks that I had heard about from CanisLucidus and a recent Thread on DV. First, I felt my face, I was looking for a cloth that was covering my eyes. I felt some goggles and pulled them off. I could see that I was in a hallway, but it was night time and very dark still. I felt around in my pocket for a flashlight and pulled one out. It wasn't that bright so I looked for a button on it that would make it even brighter. I pushed a button and it turned off, SHIT. I quickly pushed it again and it turned back on. I then began to wander around the halls. I remember the floor was hard and probably waxed, it reminded me of the kind of floor that I would see in a hospital. I searched these halls for what felt like 5 minutes before I found a room that had some sign of life in it. There was a security guard, reading a book while guarding a library. A few police in training immediately ran past me, pushing me out of the way. They were running up and down some stairs and doing laps inside of this building. I tried to freeze time, didn't work. I began slowly down time while imagining a clock that was ticking slower and slower. I started to hear the clock and everybody moved slower until they were all frozen in place. I moved a few of the guys into very sexual positions, it looked like they were having a full on man orgy by the time I was done. I made time go back to normal and they all collapsed into a pile where they awkwardly exchanged looks of horror with each other.
    9. Lucid #32

      by , 03-13-2015 at 02:06 PM
      Lucid
      TOTM report

I become lucid in total darkness. I say "more light!" but the darkness remains. I try this several times, but it makes no discernible difference. I try to "remove the dark glasses" that are preventing me from seeing. I can feel myself scratching at my eyes, but no visual elements appear. I think about the sun coming up and at first this makes no difference, but gradually I see shrubbery forming in a grey/black mist. Trees start to form. I am in the air above a wooded landscape. I fly around, looking down at all the trees below me. I decide I will fly to my childhood home, "the farm." It appears below me to my right. I see the swimming pool pump house and remember the basic TOTM is to enter a house. I swoop down and pass through the roof of the pump house as if it were not there. I am standing on the floor of the room, i see pipes and tubing, just as it really looked in my youth, if a bit larger than real life. There are some strange cylindrical objects on the floor. I pick one up, it is black and has a WWII "Flying Tiger" face painted on it. There are some strange indentations on the sides that give the appearance of arms. I loose lucidity and the dream fades.

This dream was strange as it was in the 4th hour of sleep. It was not very clear/vivid. I had no memory or thought to access memory of waking life. I had difficulty thinking clearly. Lucidity lasted perhaps 2 minutes. The flying around before arriving at the house continued for a bit.
    10. 3/12/15 - Portal Trouble, Mirrors, and Shadow the Hippie

      by , 03-12-2015 at 05:58 PM
The beginning of this dream was fairly foggy, but I eventually became lucid somewhere in my house. I decided to try to portal to Vi, much like I did during my last quality lucid. I used the same technique as last time, pointing to the wall and drawing a circle with my finger. I then tried to pull the portal up to size, but after I got it to the size of my hand, it became kind of stiff and wouldn’t open any more. I put all my energy into trying to open it, but then eventually gave up.

I walked back to my room and decided to try something different. Instead of a wall portal, why not a floor one? I tried the same technique, and this time it was much easier - in fact, the portal appeared just by thinking about it, instead of having to draw it. I had some false memory about someone telling me that floor portals were dangerous, and you had to have something prepared on the other side to catch you. I didn’t think too much about it, and dove in. I fell through and found myself in a purple void, falling with no end in sight. I felt a slight tingling in my body, which then turned into some strong vibrations. I stopped falling, and was now just floating. I stopped to take moment to realize how pleasant this sensation felt. The purple void was replaced for a bit with an orange and green sort of checkerboard pattern everywhere I looked. These soon faded however, but the vibrations continued for a bit.

I now found myself back in my bed, but I was facing the wrong way, so I knew I was still dreaming. The vibrations wore off, so I stood back up, eager to try the portals again. However, I passed by two mirrors and remembered the mirror TotM. I was a little confused on the description at first, I just thought I had to interact with it and describe the effects. I grabbed the smaller of the two mirrors off the wall, and tried to push my hand through it. It went through with relative easy, and I could see my hand stretching through the back of the mirror. It stretched almost like spandex, and felt kind of funny in a good way.

I then started to grab the other mirror, but my mom barged in my room and started yelling at me again
(she does this a lot in my dreams as of late, but to be fair she has been nagging me almost the whole time I’ve been back for spring break). I don’t even remember what she was yelling at me for this time. I grabbed the second mirror and tried to stick my body through it, starting with my head. However, as I stuck body parts through the mirror, they turned invisible! I had a little trouble fitting all the way through, but eventually turned my entire body invisible. This caused my mom to finally leave.

I somehow reappeared, and decided to go back to trying for the portals. I found a clear spot on the wall, but instead of the pointing and drawing, I just decided to point until a small hole appeared on the wall, and then I tried to pull it apart. Instead, I managed to pull the drywall off. Inside the wall were the wooden studs, which had little termites running all over them. I thought that was kind of disgusting, so I moved to another section of wall and tried two more times, with much the same result. Finally, I tried changing it up one more time. I pointed at the wall with one hand, and then drew a circle around it with the other hand. This actually worked surprisingly well, as the outline of the circle I drew even showed up on the wall. When I completed the circle, it suddenly changed into a large circular mirror. This one was large enough for me to actually get into, so I ran a full speed into it. It offered little resistance except a little tingling, but then the scene went white, instead of the black that it usually fades to.

I had a false memory of someone on the forum saying that running through mirrors takes you to the spirit world. As I kind of waited for the scene to reappear, I wondered if that was what had actually happened. But then the scene started to appear, and I noticed it was a 16-bit video game of some sort. It mainly showed a map of “the spirit world”, which looked a lot like a map from Final Fantasy or something. At the bottom, a dialog box appeared, and actually showed my thoughts on the screen. I was kind of weirded out by this, and decided it probably wasn’t worth it, so when the box asked me if I wanted to enter the dream world, I “clicked” no. The scene now faded to a 16-bit version of my room in 3rd person. I could see my avatar in my bed. A little health bar over him showed that he was about to wake up, but a strange lady walked over and sat on his chest. This led to a somewhat humorous Game Over screen, with the big words “Sleep Paralysis” flashing on the screen. I thought this was more funny than scary, so I laughed until the scene went black again.

I found myself in bed one more time, but everything seemed somewhat normal. I wondered if I was still dreaming, so I walked over to the mirror again and tried to push my hand through it. The mirror gave way almost like liquid, so I knew I was still dreaming. I walked out of my room and found myself in one of my old classrooms from Junior High. I became just semi-lucid at this point. There were computers on tables all over the room. The teacher was there, talking about some evil plan he had to use the computers for. I was more interested by this one girl (who, in retrospect, may have been Vi) playing a Sonic game on one of the computers. I walked over and asked her about it.

“Yeah, I just love how fast he runs everywhere.”
“You think that’s super speed? Check this out.”

I took off into a hard sprint around the room. I felt the wind whipping through my hair, even though it didn’t actually look like I was moving that quick. I somehow managed to run “fast” enough that I ran up the wall, and continued to run around the entire room on the wall. However, just before I finished the first lap, I tripped over a wire from the computers and fell flat on my face. She still though this was amazing, however. “Wow. You’ll probably be better at this game than me.” She hands me the controller.

Apparently this was the newest Sonic game, which (as expected) got horrible reviews. Somehow I knew the plot already - that Sonic and friends got stuck in the spirit world, and as such they had taken completely different forms. For example, I was playing as Shadow, who for some reason had long, Ozzy Osbourne-like hair that was dyed purple, as well as purple sunglasses like Ozzy’s. The internet had nicknamed him “Hippie Shadow”, which I thought was pretty hilarious. The level I was playing was somewhat difficult, especially since the controls were some weird combination of the keyboard and mouse, but I managed to complete it. The cutscenes were even weirder, including Tails being in a romantic relationship with a female version of himself. I found this so weird and hilarious that I woke up.

A poorly photoshopped rendering of Hippie Shadow, just for the lulz:

    11. 2015-03-12 (LD #104, TOTM basic-I & II), stakeout, accident, taxi-guy, TOTM-adventure, kiss doll

      by , 03-12-2015 at 04:36 PM
      2015-03-12

Turns out it was a pretty epic night of dreaming. LD #104 is definitely the best of 2015
and perhaps rivals my September 2014 TOTM LD in awesomeness.

01:30 bedtime (WTF!? come on, 2.5 hours late)

visualization of lotus flower w/flame in throat chakra for a while wall falling asleep

Unknown dream times, mental only recall (no recordings until 09:13 after LD) multiple wakings up to WBTB time

+ I almost mess up a stakeout with repeated offers to give the bad guys more cash after the initial contact

In an outdoors area with parked cars, I'm one of the good-guys in a stakeout against bad guys: I hand cash in entrapment scenario to bad guys, they take it. Comes a question should I give more: I walk forwards offering more money to the bad guys, but my colleague quickly motions/says "no" and I realize that, having already taken the initial money, if I offer more and they accept then by law the bust would be nullified.

+ (f) people in an outside park-like area with a tall tower?

+ wife drives off the edge of the highway, I go DO, the car rolls, she's OK, inside a mechanic's shop?

Driving in car with wife (wife is at the wheel) on highways, I see that we're approaching a large turn to the left and there is no barrier off the right edge of the road, there's an abrupt drop to a long sloping hill doing down to the right. I say to wife "Careful! Look out for the edge!" Instantly the car veers and the right wheels go over the edge. I'm now DO flying behind and above the car following it as it leaves the road, heads down the hill, rolling over several times. I'm in a panic about my wife, screaming and zooming to the car to see if she's OK.

i'm in some internal location (mechanic shop?) we're talking about (our?) car(s).

+ picking up (wife?) at airport on crowded holiday in foreign country, taxi guy gives me advice, walk with him, path turns dark and woodsy, he pees in the dark off to the side, Americans are camping up on hillside starting a campfire & I hear them practicing <foreign language> words.

I'm heading to the airport to pick up (my wife?) It's incredibly crowded with tons of people coming and going, because this is the beginning of <this foreign country's> vacation period. I meet a taxi driver who is telling me about how to use a taxi to (fool the traffic?) to be able to approach the airport.

We're walking down a road, it's night time, there are dark woods with leafless trees/tall shrubs off to the right, the guy goes off into the dark trees to pee, I keep walking, I wonder if he'll rejoin me or not. The road ahead is dark and uninviting going off in to the forest. I notice up the high, fairly steep hill to the left about 15 feet off someone's starting a small campfire, and I hear children's voices, they're American tourists practicing some local <foreign language> words.

      06:45 WBTB
      1x 4mg galantamine (Galantamind)
      Back to sleep
Takes about 5x "20 down to 1" counting of relaxing breaths to fall back asleep
Major success: focused only on relaxation, rejected thoughts of waking/work/life concerns, made it back to sleep fairly quickly! Could it be I'm finally mastering BTS?

      09:13

+ (LD #104) I'm lying in bed on my stomach [same WL position I think] with ex-GF SB. I'm looking at, modifying with my finger a picture of people we were in grad school together with, "Oh, I've erased T.A." I notice/say at one point. We're lying close to each other she's on my left, we're falling asleep, I lift my head up and kiss her right cheek near her right eye, this annoys her a bit because it wakes her up. I lift my right hand up and place it under her left cheek, this also annoys her a little. Just continuing to lie there, she drapes her right leg across my butt, it's a lightly erotic sensation, I like it a lot.

Her foot approaches my face from the right side, bottom first. I think about "having sex with her toes" and insert my finger between her very tightly packed toes. I then notice that the entire bottom of her foot is covered in a white fungus. "Oh! You have athlete's foot just like I do! You need to scrape that stuff off with a scraping stick, and get a pedicure." I'm standing up now next to the bed and she's looking at me blankly like she doesn't want to acknowledge this. I head to the bathroom, then walk back to the bed, SB has pulled the covers up over her head. "Dang" I think, I was hoping for some sexy time, but she's going to sleep.

I notice in her mouth is some sort of tooth tray/mouthpiece. I think this holds the teeth in the proper position for sleep. Looking again at her I notice she now has a transparent horseshoe-shaped brace supporter running down both sides of her face. I mention that this reminds me of a childhood toy, the magnetic yoyo that so fascinated me as a kid:

All of a sudden her braces structure appears on the bed: clear plastic trays on each side, and in the middle a number of metal wire pinball-chutes with metal pinballs moving along on them. Some other object also appears suddenly on the bed (forgot).

This jolts my awareness, and I say s.l. "OK thats odd/dreamlike" and I do a nose pinch. It's inconclusive [I'm lying on my stomach in WL perhaps, nose pinches are less clear then] I say, "OK, if I'm dreaming, I'll levitate now" and lie down on the floor of the room on my stomach. I look down and see that my upper body is hovering over the ground by about 1/2 inch. I'm now fully lucid. I stand up and whip out my (ahem), which is pleasantly dream super-sized, in order to present it to SB for attention, but she is gone, the bed is empty. I think about looking for her/summoning her, but abandon this idea quickly. I look and see the door to the room [it's like a small motel room], see the doorknob, and decide to head outside.

I open the door and head outside, it's night outside and I'm in just my underwear. I move my attention to feel for the temperature and detect nothing, so I'm completely comfortable. I think of goals and notice that the building here is like a two-story motel in a "U" shape. Some of the rooms have open doors, I decide to enter one for TOTM basic (II).

On my way in to the room I remember my rehearsed LD acronym: BE STRONG [Breathe, Enjoy/Engage, Stabilize, T[private, the name of my LD "mascot"], Remember, O[private], Narrate, Goals]. I start with B[reathe] and I take several breaths, perhaps the first time I've ever consciously breathed in a LD other than for nose pinch, it felt completely natural.

I enter and open room, and it's half-lit and entirely empty: not a single piece of furniture and the walls are entirely bare, no decoration. It's sort of run-down looking. It's a small two-roomed area, a front room with a short narrow corridor leading to the back room. I enter the room and head to the back room. As I'm walking I remember "S[tabilize] and I start rubbing my hands. I really feel the warmth and rub them for a little while. In the back room, I remember "T" and briefly visualize my mascot appearing but nothing happens.

I leave this room and outside it is now daylight, the area has opened up and there are small buildings in the distance and a gently sloping hill before me heading down and to the right. I remember TOTM basic (I) and reach into my right pocket with my right hand and feel for a capsule, I feel one and bring it out, it looks like a small white tic tac. I swallow it and call out "REVEAL TO ME THE TRUTHS OF THE UNIVERSE!" with arms upraised to the skies. I wait for a few seconds, nothing comes to me and I move on.

As I head down the hill to the right a guy drives up in a 70's muscle car and gets out, he's sort of threatening looking. I decide to take charge of the dream narrative and call out to him in a firm, demanding voice, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY GIRL, 'GILDA'!?". He's a bit shocked and looks at me with a puzzled expression.

There's a TV screen/painting on the ground to our left, in it are depicted 3 bad guys. (Two males, one female?). They have deteriorated/painted faces. "Man," I say, "they look terrible." I decide we must fight them, this guy and I. We dive into the TV and emerge in their place [too bad it wasn't a mirror….hmm….no, don't think it was, dangit!]. I immediately reach for my lightsabre with my left hand, and ignite it. The beam is weak/highly transparent, but I wave it around and get very accurate sound, I'm pleased with the sound. Not much of a fight, I just wave the lightsaber around a bit, things are getting vague, I decide to leave, and turn off the lightsaber.

Leaving the building I immediately remember my long-term goal of facing Sensei in a lightsaber duel. I ignite my saber again. I start calling out "Sensei! <Sensei's name!>, come on!" I'm walking towards a garden, I hold my hand behind my back and expect to feel Sensei taking my hand, but he doesn't. I call him several times but he never appears.

I'm marveling at the quality of the dream environment. I'm trying to detect dream-like artifacts and cannot detect any. It is an entirely convincing rendering of waking existence. The green grass on the lawn, the textures of the dirt and the ground.

At some point in this sequence I see an open field and think of TOTM bonus, but I don't want to mess with zombies so quickly move on.

I see beyond the grass some people on horses. The dream slowly fades to grey, I try to hold it but
      it ends.

Back in a dream, similar woodsy environment, I see two girls sitting down on a bench, one is "Lucy" and has short dark black hair, looks boyish, but I know it's a girl. Two boys approach from the woods and say they've found <some guy's name>.

I bit in the distance I see a (picture?) of a doll-sized girl. I'm interested and go to her. I command her to become real and to grow to real size. She becomes 3D and a bit larger, I give her a quick kiss. . Around this time I'm fully lucid & realize whas going on and I say "be larger, more real!" and she gets a bit larger and more realistic, I give her a longer kiss, but her lips are still cartoony & not waking realistic. I say again "larger! More real!" and I think she gets a bit more life-sized and realistic, I decide to stop and just make out with it/her because her lips feel good, and do so for a few seconds before waking up.

+ parking meters, ethnic banquet, cruising food table, not much food left, "my friend" recommends his ham rolls which are excellent

Outside on a street, we're trying to figure out where to park. Parking meters line this area of the street. I look at them and you can only use them for 2 24-minute periods, this is not long enough for us.

Inside a building there is a <ethnic> banquet. I walk along the long table, there is not a lot of food left and what is left looks not all that appetizing. Down towards the far end there are some little triangular cabbage pies that look not half bad but a middle-aged guy comes up (I "recognize"/"remember" [false memory] him), and he directs my hands to his meat rolls which I try and they are indeed quite good.

+ spying into neighbor houses with telescope, enter and see the two ladies there in the kitchen

I'm sitting outside on the left side back steps of my childhood home. I have a small spyglass and I'm looking down the hill with it. I'm also looking left into the neighbor's house. I see a woman come to the window and don't want her to see me looking so I put down the glass. Suddenly I'm inside their kitchen and see two young blonde women sitting at a table, some adult is milling around them.

+ throw something down on to my friend MR who's sleeping down in the garden in the dark [he signals me?], woman asks me to teach her son soccer, I decline and want to go back to sleep

I'm on some high balcony, several levels down below me on the back lawn my friend MR is sleeping in a sleeping bag. I can't see him well, it's too dark/foggy. I think at one point he's moved to the left. I throw something down as a prank to land on top of him (a small pebble). I'm looking and looking to try to see him but don't. At one point I think I see two small lights (like animal eyes reflecting in the dark) but I'm not sure.

A mother comes to me with a small blonde curly-haired young boy and wants me to train him in soccer. I don't want to. I say come back later and roll over in bed.

    12. Mirror Lake + Coitus Interruptus (DILDs + FAs)

      by , 03-12-2015 at 07:52 AM
Ritual: Too tired to work late so WTB 12am, woke 4am to finish work. WBTB at 6:15, woke 7:15am with first DILD.

DILD, "Mirror Lake": Woke up with fragile recall... as I was getting down notes from the end of the dream, ended up forgetting much of what came before. Thought about it and some scenes came back, but there might be gaps.

I recall an NLD at my grandma's house involving lots of cats and kittens of all sizes and personalities. I was trying to negotiate conflicts between them and protect the kittens from dogs who seemed on the verge of trying to eat them. I woke at one point (though I now suspect this was an FA) and reflected, oh, those were such obvious dream signs (grandma's house & cats), I should be more attentive.

Not sure exactly when I became lucid; it might have happened around this point. I recall lying in bed, thinking it was just like my real bed but instinctively aware that I was dreaming. (In retrospect, typically, room and bed were nothing like WL.) I lay on my back staring at the complex patterns that were playing across the ceiling in black and white, complex and shifting geometric abstractions.

From there the scene changed. I recall the transition clearly, because I found it interesting how I went from lying flat on my back to sitting in a partially reclining chair in a movie theater without ever feeling as though my body had changed position. Corresponding with my new angle of vision, the patterns on the ceiling have now reoriented to become the images on the movie screen, and transformed from abstract to representational. When I was lying in bed I had the impression that my husband was sleeping to my right (odd because in WL he sleeps on my left); now he is sitting on my right in the movie theatre. The rest of the room was empty in the earlier scene, even lacking furniture apart from the bed: the movie theatre, by contrast, is packed with people.

Having experienced all this so distinctively, especially the odd ambivalence of change/no change in my position, I become curious about my dream body and feel it with my hands. How lifelike is it? I'm impressed with its solidity and the distinct way I can feel the muscles moving under my skin as I twist in my seat. (In retrospect, the muscular movement may have been exaggerated.)

Even though I'm only touching my side and hip, the attention to my body makes me feel slightly aroused, and I am reminded of the recent forum thread where the OP asked if it was possible to maintain lucidity through orgasm. Certainly, I had replied. Though I've done it before, some years ago, eventually I decided not to get distracted by dream sex so it's been a while. It now occurred to me to see if I could still do it, if only as an exercise in maintaining stability. I hesitated momentarily since I was in such a public place, but shrugged off those concerns—this is my dream, how much more private can you get?—and indeed no one around me notices or reacts as I move my hand discreetly downward.

All it takes is a few minutes of pressure with my fingers to get myself off. I watch the images on the movie screen to make sure I don't lose focus on the dream. The intensity passes and the dream remains stable. I once again marvel at how easy it is to orgasm in dream compared to the cumbersome efforts required of the physical body. After the movie ends—I don't recall the story at all—I leave the theater. I remember being impressed at how long the dream lasts and how continuous the spaces feel, though in retrospect I don't clearly remember all the ground I covered.

The next thing I remember is a scene inspired by day residue from work. I talk briefly with colleagues, mostly people that I observe have no correspondence to WL. When I get bored with this and turn to leave, a woman asks, "You're leaving already?" I go out the door carrying a large textbook in one hand. I briefly consider discarding it, but decide to keep it with me for now.

Beyond the doorway I find myself in the hallway of a university building. It's hard to say if it is dorms or classrooms, but there are lots of flyers and decorations all over the walls. I note the peculiarities of my vision: the environment is really stable, with lots of detail, but everything is a bit dim and out of focus. I'm deciding what to do next and recall the mirror TOTM. There are always public restrooms in hallways like this, and there will undoubtedly be a mirror in the restroom, so I walk down the hallway and look for a likely door.

I reach a corner where the corridor takes a right turn to the left, so I continue in that direction. After turning the corner, I encounter something unexpected: the hall is much darker here, as if the lights have gone out, and the way forward is block with big stacks of boxes. Interesting... why is the dream trying to stop me from going down this hall? Curious, I levitate and cross the barrier easily—the boxes were only stacked high enough to be an obstacle to someone on foot.

A voice calls out from the darkness behind the boxes, apparently a guy stationed at a desk there to make sure no one gets past. "You can't go back there," he warns me.

"Why?" I ask, genuinely wanting to know the answer. The barriers the dream is throwing in my way are becoming more and more intriguing!

His excuse is really lame and boring: "There are books being deposited."

"Okay," I respond indifferently. I ignore him and continue to levitate down the hallway. Halfway down I encounter a door on my right. Will the guard pursue me? I have the the impression that he starts to get up from his desk, but I've moved so quickly that I have a big lead already. To further distract and delay him, I throw the big textbook I've been carrying in his direction. Helpfully, this frees up my hands so that I can open the door.

I have the impression that the door was supposed to be locked, but I bypass it effortlessly. As I twist the knob and push the door open, I can feel the distinct tickle of thick cobwebs brushing my right hand. This gives me a creepy thrill... is there actually some peril here? Why would the dream try to keep me out of this room? Just past the door is a pair of light switches on the wall to my right. I flip them but nothing happens. Typical.

Although the room is darker than the hall outside, I can still vaguely see. It is unremarkable: just a storeroom with a few boxes stacked here and there. However, one detail draws my attention: it is very thing I was looking for, a mirror! The mirror is large, at least 3x8 feet, and lying flat on the floor in an arbitrary position as though it is merely being stored here. This is great, I can try the TOTM! I've used mirrors as portals before, but they were always vertically aligned. The fact that this mirror is flat on the floor suggests a new way of using it: instead of pushing or walking through, as is natural with vertical mirrors, I should just run over and jump in as though it were a pool of water. I figure it will work as long as I can avoid any doubts or second thoughts.

I take a running jump and fall into the mirror's surface. My alignment isn't perfect—I end up on my back sinking half into the mirror, half into the floor, but I don't let this bother me. There is a momentary disorientation of unconstructed dream space, then I watch curiously as a new environment begins to coalesce, wondering where I'll find myself.

It was predictable, really: after thinking about the mirror-portal as a pool of water, that is exactly where I end up. I am floating on my back on the surface of a very calm body of water, like a pond, and I can hear a stream bubbling somewhere nearby. This is actually quite peaceful and relaxing, and I think how nice it would be to float here for a while... but I'm already waking up.

FA: There is a brief FA where I hear my husband's breathing on my right—still the inverse of our actual positions in WL—and then I wake up for real.

Interlude: From 7:15 to 8am I wake and write the notes from the last dream, then return to bed. It is hard to fall asleep, taking about half an hour. Everytime I get close to sleep, some unexpected noise wakes me: my husband's alarm clock; a text message; and finally an unrelenting sequence of pounding and clattering at the house next door, as though someone is alternately assembling and destroying a pile of scrap metal.

      Dream 1 - Thought I was awake
I decide to get up and go toilet, everything is completely normal, I'm in my flat and the locations are all correct. I notice that my flatmates door is open (in retrospect I realized that it was the wrong flatmate) and that he must be in the toilet, so I wander down and he just gets out, I then proceed in. I take a leak but cannot aim at all >_< I just get it everywhere, I want to clean it up but then my other flatmate turns up knocking on the door, I say that I'm in there but he still comes in! He just reaches in and grabs some object and then leaves. The door is still kind of open and I hurriedly clean up the mess... I then wake up in my bed thinking thank god I didn't wet the bed O_O

Dream 2 - Lucid and then evil lanterns
I'm lying in bed after having a cup of mugwort tea, deciding to give it a try once more to see if it actually does anything. I close my eyes and roll through my SSILD cycles trying to pump up my awareness. Once finished I imagine the feeling of running, I was just lying there and then I actually started to FEEL it... Surprised but calm, I went with the flow, a few seconds later I was running down a road... I immediately decided that I wanted to complete a dream task for once instead of mucking around (saying this out loud in the dream too, a bit curious to whether I was talking out loud IRL), I had already previously decided to drink a potion that revealed the ultimate truth. I see a man cycling uphill on the road I'm on and he has a potion in his jacket, I try to get him but he's too fast. I then use my dream powers to force-smash him off the bike like a Jedi, then force-pull him towards me. I loot the potion and read it, it's some kind of olive oil, delicious . I seem to be in a different area now too, it's kind of dark and in the distance there are these bobbing lights, I'm standing in the shadow of a building and I think I destroy a couple skeletons. I consume the 'potion of ultimate truth', lo and behold I realize... that the skeletons are the helping me, it's those bobbing lights which are evil sentient floating lanterns trying to take over my dream world. I don't remember too well what happens next, but I beat up some more skeletons, kind of forgetting the 'ultimate truth'. I think I kind of follow the dream and lose a bit of lucidity, but my brother approaches me, he is a skeleton too. He tells me to do something, but I can't remember that either, I end up in the area where I first spotted those bobbing lights, there's a girl on a bridge where zombies are trying to get her. She's a beautiful redhead and no one that I recognize, I smash through the zombies and take her with me, running past zombies which are now strangely sessile and passive. Maybe the zombies were risen by the lanterns?

I felt like a lot happened and I assumed I'd be able to remember most of it, but I think I forgot heaps after losing a bit of my lucidity.

Dream 3 - Lucid and god damnit chucky x2
After the last dream, I found it easy to slip straight into lucidity the same way. It's extremely low level, like I knew it was a dream but I didn't really try to do anything. I'm at someones flat, the girl wants me to crash there and the other guys don't. I get sneaked into her room or something after a long disagreement in their hallway. I wasn't trying to get laid either, it was purely friendship, we started reading a book and I saw a house, it was moving and I could see Chucky the evil doll... I don't want to see him so I try dismiss him, I don't think I had much success because as I looked out the girls window I saw several Chuckys climbing out the window of a neighbouring house. I do a wave of my hands (this has been pretty much the most common way for me to dismiss or interact with the dream world) and try to make him disappear, but it's hard because I keep thinking about him >_<.

I wake up after the dream and after cementing it to memory I slip straight back into the dream, I end up in a similar scenario and pissed off with it I just wake myself up and get up for the day.

      A WBTB with a DILD.

I went to bed fairly early (between 10 and 10:30). I slept until 5:00. I remembered that I had wanted to do a WBTB. I wondered if I had waited too long and had gotten too much sleep. But I decided to try anyway. I thought about doing a WILD, but I really felt that if I got to sleep I would have a DILD. And since getting back to sleep was the big issue, I felt trying to fall asleep naturally would be faster than trying to WILD.

      Dream:

I was at what was supposed to be Disneyland with my mom, sister and Becky. We rode this indoor roller coaster that had these really big hills. I remember it felt so good going down the hills. Then I remember Becky needed to leave. So we all left "Disneyland". As soon as we walked out the gates we could see that it had snowed. The surrounding hills were covered in a light layer of snow. The area looked a lot more like Sedona than Anaheim--but I didn't catch that.

I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures of the beautiful snow. At one point I tripped and landed on the sidewalk on my stomach and started sliding. I didn't care. With my camera still out I took pictures from the ground as I slid across the icy walk.

We finally got to a house that we had rented for out trip. The sun had set and it was getting dark. I took a picture of my mom and sister as they walked up the steps to the house. I wondered if the lighting was too low. I wondered if the picture was going to be blurry. I switched my camera to playback mode to check the pictures. The first one to show up was one of my mom and sister standing in the sunlight. That meant that none of the pictures I had taken that evening of the snow had taken at all. I had a second of disappointment before the thought occurred to me that I might be dreaming. Often when I think that I automatically start floating. This time I felt extremely heavy. Still, I felt that there was a good chance I was dreaming. I was NOT going to take a chance and ignore my most common dream sign.

I was carrying a very heavy purse. I felt that if I set it down I might be light enough to float. But I noticed that there were lots of people surrounding me. Even though I was now about 95% sure I was dreaming I couldn't feel right about just setting my purse down and leaving it. So I tossed it up on the balcony above me. I then grabbed the post and pulled myself up. I knew that I was able to get up to the balcony easier than I would have if it was real life. So now I was quite sure I was dreaming. I looked over at the snow covered hills. Even though it was pretty dark, the glow of the snow lit up the hills. I wanted to fly over to them.

I looked off the edge of the balcony. The hill sloped steeply down. I still hadn't flown in this dream. I wasn't sure why I was still feeling so heavy. But I figured I would give it a try anyway. If worse came to worse and I wasn't able to fly, I figured I would gently fall to the hillside below. So I ran to the edge of the balcony and jumped off. As I jumped up I was able to catch the wind and felt myself being carried upward. That was a huge relief to go up instead of down.

I started flying to the hills and finally started thinking about what I wanted to do in this LD. The Mirror! I wanted to do the Mirror Portal Task of the Month. Oh. That meant I really needed to go back to the house and find a mirror.

So I turned around and started flying back. I flew frustratingly slow. But finally got back to the balcony and walked in the door to the second floor. Inside, I found myself in a large room. On the far wall I saw an orange and white couch that had a very large mirror leaning up against it. The mirror was on its side, covering a good part of the couch. It was about 3.5 feet high and about 6 feet long the way it sat. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to run or walk in the mirror. But I wasn't planning on doing it that way this time. I had had too many failures with running at mirrors. This time I had planned to gently push my way through.

I sat down next to the mirror.

I started with my finger. I pressed the first finger of my right hand into the glass. At first all I felt was resistance. But then I could feel it give way and start to push through. This was going to take way too long. So I just decided to push my face through. That way I would be able to get a good look at what was on the other side before my body came all the way through. So I put my forehead up to the glass. It was cool to the touch. I pushed and felt it give way--like a layer of ice melts as you press something hot against it. Slowly I felt my face come out the other side. I looked around anxiously. It was a bit dark. But then things started to focus. I could see something orange....and white. Oh....no....

I had just come out on the other side of the mirror and now had my face up against the couch on the other side.

Before I could do anything else. I heard a loud door open and close, which startled me. I pulled my head out of the mirror (it left a nice, neat oval hole). A guy, maybe Jeff, had come though and asked if we had seen a drunk guy that had been wandering the area, that he might have come in the house. I said no. But before I could try the mirror again, I fully woke up.

    15. The creepy house

      by , 03-10-2015 at 10:16 PM
      Backlog: 5 March

Average wakefulness, I do my best to fall asleep. I get some very strong and bright visuals with a fast transition into the same room. It gives the inital impression of seeing through closed eyes. I examine my hands for a while, then get up and go to the other room. The dream ends.

I wake up, then have a couple more wildlets I can't recall.

A more coherent scene, now it looks like the dream leaves me somewhere outside on an unknown road. I pass by a small gingko tree and end up in a forest area where I address the dream and express my happiness about being here.

My mental clarity improves and I recall the task I wanted to do today - walk in a house and describe what's happening. There is a lonely tall house in the midst of all the trees and I head in its direction. It has no windows just a single old door that I try to open but cannot figure the direction. It's supposed to be pushed but there is resistance, so I decide to pull instead. It doesn't work because it is stuck. I think about our recent conversation with bemistaken how she would phase through the door, but I don't want a drastic scene change at the moment. I hold tightly the door and pull it. It looks like a door, but at the same time now also looks and peels like a large piece of wallpaper.

And surprise, surprise it reveals just another door. Ah, the typical dream bug! I briefly wonder about the feedback loop causing this and try again. I peel another door to reveal yet another door behind it. Oh, come on! I am not thinking so much about this. Got to concentrate on expecting what is behind the door, yes, it is opening to show the inside of the house. I punch a hole in the now somewhat solid door and pull/peel it to finally reveal the entrace. Yay! No more doors! I get inside. To my disappointment, it's an unpleasant looking place. A completely empty place with creepy stairs going down to the basement and up to the next floor. I start going up the stairs when the scenario worsens and see a kid rush towards the only small window in the place. It appears to be running away from something and I don't want to find out what that is. I decide this is enough for basic and head towards the window.
      I soon wake up.

I deild (3 more scene changes), having some fun after running out of tasks to do.
