    1. Task of the Month for May 2015

      by , 05-26-2015 at 02:20 PM
Was having a nld it was around 5 am I woke up and realised I must put my mind more into LD mode so started imagining myself coming Lucid by looking at my hand s and then saying I am dreaming - then I wanted to remember where my body was in bed and say my name out loud and some other names I have that friends call me coz I have been reading the great thread started by Sageouse about memory ( which I really like and am still reading as there is sooo much more to LDreaming as everyone keeps saying on that thread!)

Anyway this time I forgot all that and remembered I wanted to try for the task of the month when Ny told me about it in last message. So I wanted to smell and taste a lovely ripe pear - so I did !

I was going along in my NL and feeling quite perky I started to engage with some of the DC around me, flirting, so I started getting the feeling of Lucidity in that way I think ... So I came to the end of a row of DC and I saw a deep dark pool of water - just from one second to the next I knew I had to dive into the water to get Lucid/ so I jumped - it was very dark and deep so didn't feel that great but suddenly I knew this was a dream and remembered my goal. I imagined a pear floating towards me and took hold of it and smelt it- yes it smelt like a pear - I bit into it - yes it tasted yummy like a pear - I woke up soon after this as the water was not that enjoyable ; dark, murky etc.

Lucidity was not vast - I noticed my dreaming space was quite small - I could not see far around me - it will be great to see far and wide one of these Lucid Dream day/Nights

So I think that means I have done a totm!? If so its my first

    2. May 21st 2015: Sex, Consoling Crying Girl, Astronaut Pilot, Becoming Tree

      by , 05-22-2015 at 12:23 AM
      Thu, 21 May 2015:
1st feel transitioned to dream but float to confirm. Slow! Yes. Darkish. Wife gets out of bed and goes to toilet. I wonder if she did in waking and go in front of toilet and dance around to see if I get a reaction. Not really but she looks up and either she has no face or it is blurred and hard to make out. Shortly after back in bed needing to turn over.

Later after a WBTB, I get comfortable.
I feel I have transitioned again but when I make a small move to get out of bed it feels like I risk moving my waking body and waking up. I try to float again but nothing and then I mentally push my whole body towards the right front corner of my bad and my dream by jumps up on to the corner of the bed! I walk out of the room this time and out to the loft

and I think about my day time visualization: floating up and then over the loft and I do. I float down to the landing or ledge where we could display items but we don't. From there I float down to the floor. I get some audio of my son asking me what I'm doing but I know it's just from the dream I head to front door and I walk out. Before I walk out I can hear what sounds like a crowd of people outside and I like that I will be able to walk through the crowd and pick out some beautiful DC's! as I walk out there is a crowd and I find one girl.
      Spoiler for sexual content:
and then I think how I wanted and planned to go about things like this more consensually. I cross the street and there are 3 women wearing choir robes like you might see in church. I think about the church connection but continue over there with my dirty intentions. I look at them with the look that I know they all want a piece of me and one by one they go to work
      Spoiler for sexual content:
and there's a little girl nearby that approaches and starts crying. I decided I had enough and switched to consoling her. I no longer felt like I was naked but neither did I put on any clothes or really consider this. I tried to commit to memory what she was saying as she was crying but that part is gone. She hugs me back as she cries.

I walked back to the other side of the street and there was another woman crying a little more gently, whereas the girl was more sobbing. I was going through the dream details in my head to better commit them to memory when I felt what was a false awakening but I wasn't sure at first. I was back in my bed and my wife was playfully touching my arm but then started tickling me under my arm and I kind of moan like she is going to wake me up but I tried to feel if I was still asleep and decided that indeed I was. I did an in dream wild again (like earlier in the month) closing my dream eyes until a new scene forms through my closed dream eyes or maybe I open them up gently but either way I was in a long room not very wide but plenty of space. There were a number of pieces of equipment to the end of the room in front of me and this pilot or astronaut in a suit

like a pressure suit and there was a small one man rocket or flight craft that was warming up its' engines

and pointing towards the ceiling though there wasn't really a ceiling or a sky but mind you this all felt very indoors. he gets down from the rocket contraption having started the warm up process and is talking to me and something in my head makes me wonder what they wear under that suit and he hears my thoughts and unzips his outfit and shows me that he is naked underneath. I see his penis and everything. he's zips it back up and continues to prepare. I look back towards the part of the room I was in before that was basically behind me when I was facing the astronaut guy and my son is sitting and doing his studies and back towards where the astronaut was there is now a TV and something risque is on TV. it seems to be some r-rated version of MTV where some chunky lady is walking around without a top on. I start to lose a little lucidity here as I wonder if we should change the channel but after a bit I realized it doesn't matter regaining some lucidity. I start thinking about how it seems like the scene is going on for a long time and I start thinking about my goals. I jump to memory peg number 5 and after a bit of a scene fade I find myself standing over my wife

who is sitting in a chair in our dining room. number 5 is the smell task of the month and I remember how I smelled her hair earlier in the day freshly washed with a nice scent to it and the dream seems to replicate the scent but it was a little more faint almost as if the dream accounted for the time that has passed since the fresh washing of the hair. I then think about how I reset memory peg number 2 back to the lucid dare to become a tree and I start stretching out my arms like the branches of the tree and my feet down like the roots and I get the sensation of my torso and arms growing and expanding upwards

but I'm not too sure how much of a tree I became with no mirror around. I then thought of memory peg number 6 and this is the talking to the monster under your bed for task of the month. I decide that there is a bed just ahead and I walk that way but I don't see one and the dream is fading a bit and I decide that I will just arrive back in bed, my dream bed and then I can get out of bed and talk to the monster from there but it doesn't work
and I soon find myself back in my actual bed needing to urinate but I stay still and try to reenter the dream but eventually realize I am too wake and need to relieve myself before trying anything else. when I go back to bed I do get a lot of great visualisations that seem to take legs which like in my previous LD aftermath several days ago I wondered if I might be in a dream state with the amount of effect I have over what seems like HH's. very long lucid series! 8 milligrams of G + 500 milligrams of choline. #326 & 327

      20 May Lucid
I was outside of some warehouse building with a group of others. There was a large metal door that was red or orangish in color around us. We were just outside hanging out, me and another guy were closer and there were three or four others. The outside was green grass and not fully level ground but no trees or anything else around. There were little mounds possibly some dirt showing, not very detailed. Another guy rode up on a bike and kind of past us, I think I had a weird feeling about him. Suddenly just his bike rode towards us and crashed into the wall of the building. I quickly got away from the area we were in thinking we were about to get attached. I was the only one to really move. I watched for a little while and there was no action. I got a kind of moment of clarity and did a finger check. There have been these points in a dream where I am beginning to realize it is a dream. It is more in 3rd person almost and I have to force it to go into 1st person so I have arms and whatnot. I was lucid, I reached my arms out and touched the grass. I thought that I need to slow down and focus and remember something I want to do and not just go with no goal in other recent dreams I have had. I really wanted to get stable and clear in the dream and a good thought as to what I wanted to do. I found some items on the ground and really went through them and touched them with my hands. There were large bolts and some tools so I touched those and picked them up felt their curves and points. I decided to try phasing again. I have had no luck with this in the past so I had an idea to keep telling myself it wasn’t there and it was a clout or mist that I could walk straight through. I walked around the building so I could see the door again. On the way around I thought I might see people I was with before but it was desolate. I walked right up to the door all the while thinking about phasing, I approached I was telling myself it wasn’t even there and oddly enough I went straight through it. I did a fist pump and walked down a hall in a large warehouse. I touched the walls inside since I felt a little unstable after the phase and cleared the dream a bit. I didn’t have any other goals at this point so I was really just exploring. The ceilings were very high and the warehouse was pretty dirty, may have been industrial as well. I peeked into a couple rooms looking for people and found no one. I approached another door that I was going to phase through but right when I got up on it I realized it was unlocked and partially open so I just pushed it open with my shoulder. I checked a couple more rooms and ran into one with a bunch of people in it, I yelled hoping to surprise them and got mostly looks of disgust. I woke up shortly after this and don’t remember any more.

      1 May Lucid
This may have been a DEILD since I was pretty much lucid right away. I am not writing this right after the dream so it is a little blurry and I am not sure what was before and after it. Before this I had some sort of conflict about people not wanting me around. I remember thinking how blurry things were and I was at some house outside. I was next to some rounded railings and rubbed them a little bit as an environmental interaction to clear up the dream. I did this and said “there it is”. I was LUCID at this point, I remembered before that I looked at a different house down the road and there were a ton of people down there, I kind of did a jump/float over to the house from my house. When I landed I picked up some rocks in the yard and rubbed them between my hands to clear up the dream a bit. I touched the rocks a couple of times, the rocks were fairly pointy and sharp. I got to the back of the house that I was heading to and no one was around. I thought of a task of the month and remembered the smelling one. I found a drawer inside the house and started to rummage through it. There was a lot of junk in it and I was looking for something that would smell. I ran across something that I thought would work but kept digging. I think ran across a grape lollipop and thought hey that should smell. I got it unwrapped it and took a big whiff, it was grapey but not as strong as I had though, I then put it in my mouth to taste and really didn’t taste like much either. I woke up shortly after this.

T.O.T.Y. (Task of the Year) Fairest of All, Pandora's Box, Pegasus, & Nemean Lion

T.O.T.M. (Task of the Mouth) Bonus Task

Note: This is a collection of dreams of the past one or two weeks, and I didn't know when they happened because I didn't have time to write in my real DJ or this one. However, Dreams #4 and #5 happened today with true clarity.

      ~ Dream #1 ~
      40% Lucidity

Approximate Real Life Time: About one minute

Approximate Dream Time: Around thirty minutes

      Backstory:
I played Wizard101 when I was little, and I guess one of my favorite Greek Mythology houses in that game appeared as the setting.

      Story:
I used a portal to get into Pandora's room, and she was there. (I was on the ceiling) Well, it's going to be awkward taking it from her. Oh well. I took it from her using the force even though she said, "No!" a few times. I took it from her, and went back through my portal into that beautiful setting I described in the Backstory section. Then I placed down a small Greek Column Pedestal, and carefully placed Pandora's box on it. I got a new net from out of nowhere, and I decided that it would be useful to catch evil spirits that come out of the box. I placed the net on top of the box, and I opened the box using the force. A lot of evil spirits came out, and all of them were caught in the net, I sealed the net, so nothing can ever come out of it. The last item in the box was hope, and I let it go free into the world.

      Dream End.

      ~ Dream #2 ~
      60% Lucidity

Approximate Real Life Time: About one minute

Approximate Dream Time: Around thirty minutes

      Backstory:
      No Backstory Needed.

      Story:
I decided to go directly finish my task. I found the Nemean Lion and it was very fierce and mean when I met it. I decided to make it into my pet. So I shrank the huge lion into a cute, adorable cat. I also asked Aphrodite to make it as cute as possible, and as lovable as possible. I went to a kitty cat contest, and all the other ugly cats lost against mine. We won first place, but I don't think I fixed the deadly, golden fur problem, yet. Anyways we won, and we both became good friends.

      Dream End.

      ~ Dream #3 ~
      60% Lucidity

Approximate Real Life Time: About one minute

Approximate Dream Time: About a few years

      Backstory:
      No Backstory Needed.

      Story:
I was Paris, but here's a twist: I'm the Paris of the modern world. I didn't live in the old times, and there were still Greek Gods (i.e. like the Percy Jackson Series). I had to choose one of the Greek Gods for being the fairest, and I chose Athena because I wanted to be a smart person. In the dream, I went to Harvard, and many places. I was smart and I became what I wanted to be, and I know more than the people around me. It was a thrilling experience. I didn't get anymore detail other than that.

      Dream End.

      ~ Dream #4 ~
      90% Lucidity

Approximate Real Life Time: About ten minutes

Approximate Dream Time: Around a few hours

      Backstory:
Dream Background: I was on a battleship / ship training for element controlling.
Well, this one happened today, so I know it's a WILD, because I just woke up a few minutes ago naturally.

      Story:
I dreamt of 4 sections that each contained the elements in this order from left to right: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. These four sections are for me to perform the Task of the Month. The Earth section contained stones, leaves, tree parts, and many objects that will help me build a mountain. The Air Section had a huge boulder for me to lift into the air, and fly it to a chalked circle target. The Water Section had a huge lake, which I had to drain. On the Fire Section, there was a huge, large pine forest that I had to burn. All the sections had dark, grey clouds over them, except the Air Section which had white mist like if it were on a tall mountain. I started from the left then to the right.

I started the Task of the Month. On the Earth Section, I used the power of the Earth to lift all those boulders, leaves, trees, and rocks to make a mountain. After all of the materials came together, there it was, a huge mountain. On the Air Section, I lifted the huge boulder using air, and placed it on the designated spot for where it was supposed to be. For the water section, I saw the lake and I spun it into the sky. The water drained through slinky-like shape into the sky. Moments later, the entire section started to rain. I was onto the Fire Section. I started a fire in the center of the section, and moments later, almost the whole section was on fire. Since I was finished with the Task of the Month, I decided to explore the dream world a little bit.

I walked through a dark, metallic corridor like those in a ship. Each door had those circle-ly, wheel handles that are required to open doors. At the end of the corridor, I can only go right, and I noticed some light towards the end. I turned right, and a door was open. Inside was a man, and it seemed like he was in an apartment building because in the window, I can see what I see when I look out of my real life apartment window. It was night, and I think everyone was asleep except for the man and me. He talked to me about some stuff (I lost some lucidity during this part). Later, I walked out of his door, and there was another side of the corridor that led to the outside of ship towards the right of the door. I asked him what's outside of the ship. And he said it was a surprise.

As I reached the end of the corridor, he closed his door, and I noticed the rainy, cloudy weather outside. I also saw a Pegasus outside the door, and I climbed on it, and asked it to take me to Mount Olympus! Except, we were in the middle of the ocean. I opened a portal to Mount Olympus instead. When Pegasus landed through the portal and we reached Zeus's Throne, we see his Master Lightning Bolt just lying there for free. So, I decided I'll get it and tip-toe away. I climbed onto Pegasus again and we flew all the way to a far away Island. I relaxed on this island, and I have finally escaped from Zeus without him knowing, I was in a 5-star hotel's beach asking a servant for a tropical drink for me and Pegasus. We both drank it and felt accomplished. The dream soon faded away.

      Dream End.

      ~ Dream #5 ~
      100% Lucidity

Approximate Real Life Time: Around ten minutes

Approximate Dream Time: Around a few hours

      Backstory:
Dream Background: I started this adventure thing on doodles last year, and I thought it would make a good lucid dream adventure. I also made a ranking system for it. I would start at Level 1, and every level would have 15 more experience points than the last level up requirement. A Level 1 Player would need 5 EXP (Experience Points) to become Level 2. A Level 2 Player would need 15 EXP (5 + 10) to be Level 3. There is a certain map for the world, and I was in the Midnight City. It was at night, and the city is mainly filled with blue, glowing skyscrapers.

      Story:
I was on a bridge from the Fields (an urban town with large fields next to Midnight City) to Midnight City, and after I crossed it, I met a man whom ran really quickly. I seemed like he was going to rob me. I decided to battle him. He attacked me, and I attacked him. We both had swords, but he had a gun, too. He used his sword when he was near me and used his gun when he was further away. Eventually, we battled at the Bridge. I jumped into the water under the bridge, and he came after me. I used my water bending powers, and drained the whole lake to push him into the sky while he was falling.. Now, he was is the dark grey, and nearly black clouds. He probably is going to die from fall damage rather than my water pressure. I decided to go under the bridge, so he will have no chance of landing on me. He fell on the bridge, and nearly cracked it. Later, it started to rain. I think it was because of the whole lake of water still in the sky. This dream also slowly faded away.

      Dream End.

    5. The monster under the bed

      by , 05-17-2015 at 07:31 PM
      Date: 16 May

      Wbtb

I fall asleep and have a brief non-ld where I am with family members in this unfamiliar house. It's dark in the room and I am trying to fall asleep but they keep on talking so loud. At some point everybody leaves and I find myself in a large movie room with big screen TV and loud bass systems. I think to myself that I find it really weird people are so obsessed with these things. A large TV, so what? Now, it would be much cooler if actually you were making this whole TV into existence, if you were the cause of all the music - ie. if you are dreaming all this. Then this will give a whole new meaning to the experience. I take a moment to imagine how it would feel.

Memory gap. I end up in another room where I feel my awareness come into focus and I realize that I made it to the dream. My mom is also here for a bit. I remember a few goals and also the advanced task of doing an in-dream wild and briefly consider trying it. However, this is not among the goals I reviewed during the wbtb and now I can't remember (also irl at the time of journalling) whether this is still the current month's task or already last month's. I decide I don't want to end up doing an old task and drop it altogether. There is a large earth globe in the completely empty now narrow room and I do a mix of telekinesis and wind blowing it around wondering if that would count towards air bending. After I have enough fun with levitating it around, I recall the other basic task - become friends with the monster under your bed.

I move forward and cautiously open the door to the next room, hoping this will work to reveal something handy. It opens into a dark room, which I disregard and continue forward. There is a bed just ahead of me and I lean down and look to see what's below. There is a ton of junk piled up. While I try to think of a monster being there I get a flash of disappearing transparent eyes. I decide to stare in the stuff below in the hopes that something will show up. After a while, I begin to see a movement under some rags and follow it. It stops and then starts at another place. I dig a bit to finally find the monster - a grey mouse! The little beast is so hyperactive it is hard to keep it in one place and as I try to hold it and make friends it even bites me! I think about the task again taking mental notes of what is going on. Ok, it has to calm down so I start caressing it. I do so for a bit until it finally calms down, I make another mental note about this and conclude that we are now friends.

The dream seems to end but it's actually an FA. I find myself journalling a page and a half worth of dreams with a lot of details and also noting my goals for the next dream. The tablet then malfunctions and keeps giving me a gaming radar with the bad guys as red dots coming near. I'm getting really confused about this since I think I have solved all my problems for the moment. It then switches to a cool 16 bit game with characters unknown to me. I decide to play it for a bit and it actually works like a normal game - very complex and thoroughly thought out. Yet I can't comprehend how this game self installed on my tablet. Why do I have this game? And then it hits me! This is an FA and I just wrote a ton of dreams for nothing. But the game - well that was pretty awesome, I think to myself, I played quite a bit of a dream game. I'm super amazed at this. The dream soon ends.
    6. Huge Progress

by , 05-16-2015 at 11:09 PM (My Dream Goals)
Although it is too unclear in memory to thoroughly journal it, last night I had a lucid dream that completed not 1, not 2, but THREE tasks that I had previously set. In the dream, I was outside (TOTNLD Go Outside), picked up and uprooted a very large tree (TOTM Develop a Supernatural Power), AND when picking it up and dropping it, sunk a couple feet into the ground due to the weight and threw tons of dirt into the air, respectively. (TOTW, Dig a Hole). On top of that, I almost completed half of my TOTY by almost being able to swing the tree over my back and onto a house (TOTY part 1 Commit a Crime with a Supernatural Power). Also, I would like to share my strategy for developing super strength in dreams, at least for the use of lifting a heavy object. I first grab the object (as for the tree, I had to hug it to grab a large enough part), close my eyes, try to lift, and then as soon as I feel a lifting sensation I open my eyes and due to momentum, I am now able to lift the object.

Task 1: Pick up a tree again, Develop better clarity.
Task 2: Punch someone out with no effort.
Task 3: Destroy a large statue with my bare hands.

      #437- DEILD - Time unknown

I fell back to sleep after waking from this dream. I only recalled it during my morning meditation. Lucky.

I wake up slightly and find myself in that halfway point between wake and dream. My arm is up over my part of my face and I find it uncomfortable. I consider adjusting, but I worry that I'll wake up too much if I move. Ignore it and focus on relaxing my body. I don't notice the usual vibrations this time, but I feel myself sink deeper. I try focusing on lifting up or floating and I quickly rise up out of my body and automatically land on my feet.

I walk around the house for a bit thinking hard what my goal is. I see random rooms and objects, but I don't really pay much attention. I know I want to try a TOTM and after some effort, I recall the in-dream WILD task. I quickly stop and become stiff as a board and fall to my back. I look at the ceiling for a second then close my eyes hoping for the best. I am a little worried this will fail as I let go of my dream body and relax, focusing on lucidity. After a second or two, I feel myself lift up again. I am standing blind for a bit and I ferociously focus on seeing — I don't want to fail this task. Then it dawns on me to just "open my eyes". I am now standing in a meadow on a trail leading into a forest. The amazing thing about it is that the entire scene is filtered over with red. It's beautiful and slightly ominous at the same time. As I am enjoying the scene, I notice my physical eyes have partially opened. I try to maintain the dream, but the waking world slowly comes into view ending the dream.

This pic doesn't do it justice, but it's close.

    8. May 5th and May 10th 2015 LD's Brief Notes: TOTM's, Starry Sky, Ancient Canyon

      by , 05-13-2015 at 11:53 PM
      May 10th
(already noted in TOTM thread if you read this there)

      Brief notes…

-DILD: in an office waiting for Ken. Is he even coming to work today? I remove my earplugs twice. I decide to look around office while I am waiting maybe there is someone who can tell me if he is expected to come in today. Cute women...hmmm…wait! I am dreaming! Go around the office a bit checking out the women and then into the void.

-visuals come back with women around, have sex, some fading in and out of the visuals

-I think of the smell TOTM, memory peg#5 and settle on smelling the perfume of a woman I am embracing - it is very nice and familiar floral note from somewhere in the distant past, possibly reminiscent of lily of the valley (void)

-waiting for the fade to fade - I eventually find myself at a long table like in a school cafeteria. I look around excited that the I have managed to get another dream scene after another trip to the void. With me turning around from the table to look around at the rest of the room I loose some visuals and think TOTM. I think of the wind carrying me task and the wind generates with no effort and lifts me up easily and pulls up towards those typical white ceiling panels, up and through and to another level of them above and then I get swept sideways up and sideways into an outdoor red sandstone canyon with village structures and tents below.

It feels like I am in some ancient place and just enjoy as I get swept down the canyon and up a bit for nice views in spots. (void)

-Later I think of the fun wind task again and get swept up towards the night sky. I can see some stars but the more I look, the more stars that come into view. So many beautiful stars in a beautiful night sky that I almost want to cry.

-during one of the trips to the void I did some dancing in the void - some concern about moving my waking body and decide to just float in the void and stay patient. Getting some nice lucid time on my G-nights (usually Saturday night/Sunday morning). 8mg G + 500mg C. Chemical enhancement experiments started after LD#300.

      May 5th

College freshman girl "if dreaming" thoughts cue me in. I'm walking down the school hallway and it's the beginning of the school year, there are new freshman students arriving. I see one girl who is very attractive and I try to make eye contact before we pass and I also have a glance looking back towards her. I think if only she looked at me with a strong stare it would be like one of those moments in dreams. Wait a minute! I am dreaming! I go to the nearest girl and immediately start making out with her and getting fairly frisky. I have been given freedom, dream freedom! After a bit of that I wake directly to my alarm. My alarm ended this one but likely also near end of REM. #320
    9. Alien Eyes / Smell TOTM

by , 05-13-2015 at 12:35 AM (Xanous' Dream Journal)
      #435 - WILD - 4:15AM

I did a WBTB coffee (2tbsp coffee grounds + 1tbsp sugar) at 4AM. Chug and and crash focusing on WILD.

I quickly recognize the usual sensations but it hard to get out. I realize I need some stimuli and the first thing I think of is sex. During the enjoyment, I notice a very young girls is sleeping next to me in the same bed while some woman is riding me. I begin to feel awkward and want to get away. I notice that I am deep enough in the dream now, so I push the woman off and mutter, "That's enough."

I easily stand up and wonder into the bathroom. I have an embarrassing situation that I try to ignore so I look into the mirror to distract me. My face distorts and I now have large aliens eyes. Instead of the deep black associated with gray's, I have white glowing light like my eye are made of some sort of reflective material. I marvel at the glowing light from within for a second and then decide to try playing with the mirror a bit. It looks really dirty witch is distracting but it seems like there is a different room past my reflection. I press my face into the glass and it stretches like soft rubber. I pull back and try to focus on something in the background, hoping to fall in, but I suddenly wake up.

      #436 - DEILD -5:08AM

Having realize that only 15 minutes passed since I drank coffee, I decide it can't have kicked in much though I feel mildly stimulated. I relax focusing on my face as I body awareness meditation and quickly pass out.

There is something about my brother visiting my house. Me setting at table telling myself that I am dreaming, but not caring much. Maybe I thought I had it under control, but lucidity slips away. After talking with my brother, I decide it's time to lay down for WILD.

I am in a room eating white grapes with a small boy. Then try to eat something like a grape, but rock hard. The dream fades to darkness, but I hear a voice telling me to hold me focus and wait (meaning DEILD).

I have WILD sensations, but I am able to blindly get up. I jump around to stimulate my dream body. It feels super odd. I begin to float so I open my eyes. I am now standing in the room again. There is trash everywhere and the little boy is just looking at me. He gives me a grape and I taste it. Bland. I recall the smell TOTM and quickly search the floor. I spot a banana peel, pick it up, and give it a good sniff. Nothing. I try again breathing deeper, but now I am too aware of my physical body. I remember breath is the only connection to waking world. I stop and try an orange peel that's near the spot where I found the banana. It has a mild, undefinable scent. I now recall my monster TOTM and tap the boy's elbow. "Common!", I say as I start to look for a bed. I wake up.

    10. Goddess of Wine

      by , 05-13-2015 at 12:24 AM
      Backlog: 28 April Part II

I do a quick mental review, briefly think about tasks, toss around and then fall back to sleep.

About 60-75 mins (timed) worth of sleep, with about 3/4 of it lucid. Yet, I remember only fragments here and there mostly of some of my actions.

Earliest point. It seems I became lucid in the first couple of mins after a brief nrem period. No distinct bodily sensations upon falling asleep. I immediately recall a number of the tasks. The speck of dust totm comes to mind again and I allow myself to be lifted up in the air. I briefly think about the bird glide dream flying mode and that it actually doesn't involve active flying but using the wind as well (in the case of no flapping). The wind carries me over the streets of this unknown town. I then get down to street level and try to recall other tasks. The only thing that comes to mind is Earth bending where you have to create a mountain. I look ahead thinking about a mountain appearing and as I stare in the distance I begin to distinguish the features of a mountain and the view is quite clear too! Feeling very excited about this!

Near the same location as the mountain totm, on the streets, I wonder what to do and think that I should try the totys. At the moment, I don't remember almost any of them apart from the (God of Wine) drinking contest task. I spot a nearby bar just to the side so I enter ready to get drunk. I'm trying to pick what to drink, not remembering if the task required a particular alcohol or not. There is a large beer glass waiting invitingly on the counter. Yet, the DCs around look terrible, and this whole place smells like spirits in a rather unpleasant way. I don't like the atmosphere so I leave and walk around allowing the place to change. In the end, I opt for entering another place altogether like a bar again, but looking much better. At this point I am aware that am supposed to have drinking buddies or rather the other competitors Hercules and Dionysus.

A number of DCs join me and I think they are appropriate, wearing antique clothes, though Hercules isn't as muscular as I would like him to be. And the other DC (God of Wine) turns out to be Leonardo DiCaprio! I find this particularly amuzing and think that he fits the role of Dionysus. I then finally correctly decide that we will be drinking wine and grab a bottle from the rack near the wall. Slightly confused as to whether we are supposed to be sharing the same bottle or each should have his own, I pause for a minute. Then a couple more bottles materialize in the hands of the DCs. There is also a third DC. We raise bottles for a cheers and then the other DCs drink some of their wine. I start pouring the contents of the bottle in my mouth. This takes longer than expected for a dream, but other than that is extremely realistic in terms of sensation. It really feels as if I am drinking, and pouring the contents of an entire bottle, hence the length in drinking time. This even worries me that the dream might end from too much focus on only one thing, but the bottle is finally empty. The other DCs have no more desire to drink and I emerge as victor in the contest!

      End of memory. Dream transition.

In the next part of the dream I do not do almost anything actively, but rather try to spend as much time in the dream simply walking and looking around. The strategy is successful, but overwhelmed with the amount of information, I don't recall amost anything in particular detail. As I go from one place to the next I am convinced to have discovered the key to spending max time in the dream without interruption, that you can have an entire REM intact without the fade outs.

Actually, I do remember now that I feel the need not to look for too long at particular objects. My clarity was much better when I was moving and only paying minimal attention to specific objects, as compared to when I was paying more attention to them. I felt like I had no interest in them whatsoever either, I saw no point?

Fragment: I read a female name somewhere and I repeat it many times out loud because I want to remember it upon waking. I even make some DCs shout it. No idea what the name was.

At some point I find myself inside this place and recall another of the element bending tasks - to set something on fire. Me and another DC are in a building so I try to set one of the corridors on fire by summoning flames on the walls. I also get the other DC to do the same, but neither of us is fully successful - though we manage to get the corridor to be covered in orange colored fire like decorations.

I continue walking around, trying to maintain my attention, but notice this is becoming quite tiring. As I enter the next room, it is a dark room and everything is very blurry. I immediately begin to feel that this has an effect on my attention (especially after so much exercising it) and that am starting to lose the dream. I try to flip a light switch, but of course it does not work. At this point I try to will the lights to turn on, which lights up the room, but by increasing light coming from the outside. Nevertheless it has the effect of restoring the balance in the dream. I am rather mentally exhausted at this point to keep focusing on the dream and thinking what else to do. There are a few DCs in bed and after some contemplations, decide to enjoy some side activities, which are unsuccessful as the male DC is not very interested

I lose lucidity and then this becomes a non-ld scenario with me and the male DC with confusing explanations from his side. We continue exploring the building.
    11. The Evil Queen

      by , 05-12-2015 at 11:27 PM
      Backlog: 28 April Part I

The earliest moment I recall from this dream is that my PC gets broken and me and mom are calling service overseas, trying to fix it. As part of the procedure we need to participate in a court hearing.

The scene changes to outdoors, where I see Emma Swan give a presentation as part of the hearing. I go ahead, talk to her and have a false memory about another cool movie where she was playing. I make more compliments as we go along.

At some point I experience being myself and also being part of the story, fully participating as the main character. I am the evil queen, who (I'm told or remembering) wants to become rumplestiltskin. There is a super cool magic object that belongs to the dark one, a golden hooded cape, where I can see his image live as a spirit talking to me. She (the evil queen) is supposed to put the cape on, thus becoming one with rumple. I also have rumple's dagger, which is the same color as the cape. I put it on and look in the mirror. The cape later transforms into a long nice red leather jacket and I look really good. I consider taking a photo, though know that there's no point in doing that.

Little John's people are outside of the castle now. I can see them by looking through the windows. The castle is structured somewhat like a normal building (from what I can determine while being inside), but appropriately decorated with velvet carpets and wooden stairs. I move from the current room to another, apparently causing noise that alerts them and they are about to storm the place. My brain switches to chase mode and I flee up the stairs, reaching the last floor.

At this point my awareness /neurotransmitters begin to reach threshold levels. I cut through the mosquito net on the window and jump on the nearest tree. I contemplate that I can get down in any possible way because I have powers.

Yes, not only do I have powers, but it is a dream! Memories of past tree climbing scenarios and flying flash through my mind. I recall the speck of dust task and try to see if I will be able to hold still in the air. I create strong wind to support me from below, and once I feel it bodily, I move forwards from the tree top and onto the air where I stay a bit in upright position. The wind then carries me forward over a short distance. Finally, I decide to make a few cautious steps in the air, continuing forward until reaching an elevated section of land and trees. There is a peculiar sensation on the soles of my feet while air walking.

I take a moment to orient myself, thinking again how this is a dream and that I wanted to do the smell basic task. I realize that I'm standing near a pine tree, see those lovely green needles near my face, but take a moment to decide what I would like to smell. I opt for smelling the bark as for my dream logic, it should smell even stronger than the needle branches. As I come closer to the bark, I feel a fresh breeze on my face as well as many tiny moisture droplets in the air in between. And then I inhale - it's a distinct smell of pine tree. It's really nice and as I am about to have a second go - the wbtb alarm wakes me up.

    12. Drones + Smallpox + Bed Monsters (NLD + FA-DILD + DILD)

      by , 05-09-2015 at 09:55 PM
Ritual: It was a great night for dreaming, probably because I went to bed so much earlier than usual, though I've also been especially attentive to my RCs for the last couple days. I went to bed a little before midnight, and I'm also currently on the East Coast, so the clock was three hours ahead of my usual time zone. My sleep was punctuated with the usual half-dozen wakings, though I didn't do any specific night practices other than try to pay attention to the transitions between sleeping and waking, and in this I was not persistant or prompt enough to pull off a WILD or a DEILD. But by around 6am I woke up from the first DILD, spent until 7:30am writing it down, then went back to bed and lucked into a second one.

NLD, "Drones": I'm standing by a floor-to-ceiling, wall-length window in a big hotel suite, looking out over the curve of a bay. From the height we must be somewhere between the 20th and 30th floor, and to the right I can see another tall building, or perhaps an extension of the same hotel, following the curve of the beach. Ahead and to the left is the flat horizon of the sea. It would be a pleasant view if it weren't for all the drones hovering in our field of vision, each one carrying a sign with a single word on it, white block letters on a black background. The words seem to be completely random.

"It's like some dystopian future," I comment to Peter Dinklage, who is standing to my left. I muse about what it would be like if the drones were weaponized, and turned on us like machines tend to do in science fiction. Though a chilling thought, they are awkwardly constructed without any armoring, and look like they would be easy to shoot down.

Then I notice that although they are not armed with guns, each drone is fitted with a camera, which is just as bad in some ways. Are they conducting mass surveillance on us? The cameras are all pointed directly at us. As I watch, a see a few drones of a different type fly in very close. They are not carrying signs, and they are disk-shaped, topped with a transparent dome through which we can see tiny people inside operating them. The pilots can't be human: even though I am standing next to a dwarf, they are much smaller than him, the size of babies, but with adult features and pointed ears. One of them waves at us, and Peter Dinklage says something like, "This is really disturbing."

FA-DILD, "Smallpox": Shortly after this I have the sense of waking up, though it is not a typical FA; I do not find myself in bed. I feel like I am standing in the same spot, in the same room, only awake now. Everyone else who was in the room a moment ago is gone, and there is no longer any impression of a view. The light has changed, becoming greyer and dimmer: it felt like late afternoon a moment ago, now it feels like early morning.

At once I notice that something is wrong with my body: a dense network of small patchy blisters is completely covering my skin. I look at myself in third person, as though in a mirror, and see them everywhere: covering my face, my chest, my arms, every patch of visible skin is mottled with these raised lesions. I know exactly what they are, too, I've seen them before in historical pictures: these are smallpox pustules, apparently in an early stage, since they are slightly lighter than my natural skin color and haven't scabbed or opened yet.

Immediately my rational mind rejects the scenario: didn't I get vaccinated for this? I realize I don't specifically remember getting a smallpox vaccine, but... isn't that because smallpox is extinct? I can't recall the details but I'm sure I remembered hearing that. Surely it's not making a comeback, like measles, because of all these anti-vaccers? But that can't be right—if smallpox were coming back then vaccinations for it would have become available, and I'd have been first in line.

This can't be happening. I try to will away the pustules but nothing changes. I remain unconvinced. This can't be happening, it must be a dream. If I can levitate, I will know it is a dream: I put my mind to it and though I do not levitate properly, I can feel that gravity is definitely different from waking life. So it is a dream! Okay, that's what I thought. Thank goodness I don't really have smallpox. Now I just need to fix my appearance.

I go into the bathroom and look in the mirror, trying to will my skin smooth again. The pustules are stubbornly persistant, but a lock of hair turns white and I decide to transform the rest of it for fun. It instantly turns stark white, but the texture remains smooth and silky. This gives me the idea to turn my skin jet black, like that of a drow elf. I concentrate and most of it transforms, but there are still pale patches on my forehead and upper cheeks, and when I look down at my legs, they are a streaky grey that is fading out toward the ankles, more like body paint than skin pigment.

On the bright side, changing the color of my skin finally got rid of the pustules, leaving it smooth again. Now I just want to even out the color, but the pale patches resist my initial attempts to darken them through will alone. I try to use my hands, as though spreading pigment over the resistant areas, and this helps a bit, but it is not an easy fix. As I peer closer into the mirror during this process, I notice that my eyes are solid black. I can't remember if this was the correct color for drow eyes, but I really like the effect. By the time I complete the skin transformation, my hair has faded from snow white to a yellower bone white, and this looks better and more natural with the jet black eyes and skin.

During this process my hair has been going through stylistic variations, always long and straight, but hanging down in different ways, and smeared with substances like blood or oil. I figure this makes sense for drow fashion, since living underground they probably don't bathe all that often, making hair treatments like oil very practical, whereas the bloody streaks look impressively gruesome. Although my skin won't stay pure black, it doesn't fully revert to its natural shade either, but retains traces of color, like streaky orange-browns on a muted blue base, while the hair stays yellowish-white.

WBTB: I woke up and spent over an hour writing the report of the last dream, but afterwards it was still early enough to go back to bed. Although I was not sleepy, it was a pleasantly lazy morning, and I enjoyed drifting in hypnagogic imagery. There was a period of ambiguity where it became increasingly difficulty to tell if I was having waking or dreaming experiences, and then I slipped again into full dream.

DILD, "Bed Monsters": I was wandering through the large house belonging to my in-laws where I am currently staying, and I had lost count of the number of bedrooms... there had to be more than twenty. Just how big was this place? At that moment I realized, no, of course it is not so big in waking life, it is because I am dreaming that the size has been exaggerated. Dreaming, eh? Wasn't there something I had meant to do, if I found myself dreaming in a bedroom? Suddenly I recalled this month's TOTM, to make friends with the monster under your bed. Oh! I should get back to the room where I'd been sleeping! I dashed back so quickly I was afraid I would destabilize the dream, but luckily it stayed intact.

I peered under the bed but it was a pleasant open space. It looked like there were a few banal things stored under there, but nothing looked sinister or monstrous. I felt around for something to work with, and my hand closed around a small plush object, which I withdrew and examined closely. It was a small brown teddy bear, only five inches long, with a plump, pear-shaped body and tiny beady eyes. There was a lighter brown oval around the bit of stiching that served as a nose. I was impressed with the detail with which I could perceive it, but had no idea how was I supposed to "make friends" with it. It seemed totally inert, a harmless stuffed animal. I set it on the thick folds of the comforter piled on the bed. "Dance!" I commanded. It just sat there. "Dance!" I tried a few more times, but it remained inaminate.

I walked around to the other side of the bed, setting down the teddy bear on a dresser. I turned away for a moment, and when I looked again it had changed: now it was a sort of bell-shaped plastic structure hanging from the ceiling by a string. I couldn't tell what its purpose was, but it still appeared to be an inert object.

It occurred to me that I had been walking around and standing right next to the bed completely heedless of the space underneath. If there really were monsters under there, I'd have to watch out for my ankles! I wondered if this was the problem, that I didn't really have any lingering childhood fear of monsters under the bed. Perhaps I should try again with more intent.

I bent down and looked under the bed from this side, trying to keep the idea of monsters in mind. I still didn't see much under there: it was a light and airy space, just like in waking life, completely different from the overstuffed space under my bed at home. But I did see a scrap of cloth within arm's reach, so pulled it out. It turned out to be a little crocheted cat, only about three inches long, white with some orange spots. I guessed it must have been made by a total amateur. The body seemed floppy like it was unstuffed, and as I turned it over in my hands, I discovered that it was actually crocheted in a single flat piece with the four little legs sticking out horizontally, so only when it was folded in half along the back did it look plausibly like a cat. The head was the only piece that appeared to have been crocheted with any semblance of three-dimensionality. As I studied it closely, I saw tiny points of bright green contrasting with the dominant the white and orange: there was a little green tuft on the trip of the tail, and projecting from the head was a narrow appendange like the antenna of a cartoon alien, also topped with a green point.

However, this object also showed no sign of motion or life, so it would be hard to say I was "making friends" with it. But then my eye caught a glimpse of orange fur near my feet: my cat had appeared! I wasn't surprised that she had turned up: when thinking about the task in waking life, I had reasoned that she really was the monster under my bed. Though I adopted her when she was about five months old (the best guess of the shelter) she had been living in a feral state before that, and even after five years of comfortable indoor living she still has the edgy instincts of a street cat: she hisses at the slightest provocation, and holes up under the bed for hours whenever a stranger is in the house.

I knelt down to ruffle her long, soft fur, which felt totally life-like, but I noticed the color was off. In the dream she was calico, with big orange patches, but I remembered that she was a tabby in waking life. I wondered if she could qualify as my dream bed monster—though right now she was acting very pleasant and relaxed, and I figured it probably wouldn't count because I had already made friends with her in WL.

Yet again I peeked under the bed, and this time at last I found the perfect candidate for my experiment. I felt that it was connected somehow with the tame cat at my feet, as though all her feral qualities had separated into a different animal. This one had a tortoise-shell coat, all the same colors as a calico but in smaller, more mingled patches. Although the fur resembled that of a cat, the body suggested another animal entirely, with a narrower head and tapering snout. I was pretty sure it was a fox. Best of all, it was already hissing and snarling at me! This was the monster I had been looking for!

Now all I had to do was make friends with it. I began calling to it in the cooing, overly affectionate voice I might use with my cat. "Come here... lovely sweetie... lovely sweetie. I have treats for you my love... treats for you my love." The animal reacted as any feral creature would, holding its ground and continuing to hiss and snarl. I could see the tension locked into its body, poised for fight or flight. I reasoned that since it was a dream monster, the best approach would be to hug it, but that wasn't obviously wasn't going to be possible while it was still under the bed. I needed to draw it out first.

I reached under the bed and the animal snapped at the air and threatened to bite me. I considered drawing my hand back for a different approach but decided to let it go ahead and bite, inspired by that wonderful scene in Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind where Nausicaa tames the fox-squirrel by remaining calm and patient when it bites her finger. Plus, since it was a dream I didn't have to worry about physical harm. So I kept reaching toward the animal until it bit down on the middle of my left index finger. The pain was surprisingly clear and sharp, but easily manageable. I kept thinking of that scene from Nausicaa and projecting similar expectations on this situation. I felt the animal relax enough to take a few steps closer to me, but it had not yet emerged from under the bed when the dream abruptly faded. Intriguingly, even after I had fully transitioned to wakefulness, I could still feel a distinct itch in the second joint of my left index finger where the animal had bitten me.

    13. 02 - 07 May Ld Summaries

      by , 05-07-2015 at 10:38 PM
Busy week. Posting a super short summary for reference.

      02 May

      # 1: With Rumplestiltskin again, this time lucid. We talk and explore around.

      # 2: aggression induced ld, dodging bullets by slowing time and phasing. Later went after the attackers using super strength.

      05 May

      # 3: distractions . Later recalled the basic smell task - found an aromatic candle, which unfortunately didn't smell at all. Then smelled a little bottle of shampoo next to it, smelled like one of those aroma essential oil extracts.

      07 May

      # 4 (++): Wild + deild and unidentified ld fragment: remembered the basic task again, smelled the air - cold and fresh with a gentle tree scent. Met a friend - actually imposter DC, talked a bit, listened to dream music in the distance. Memories of a cave scene.
    14. Wind Propulsion (DILD)

      by , 05-07-2015 at 07:02 AM
Ritual: WTB 12am, WBTB 4–5:30am (working), woke 6:15am with dream.

I dreamed I was working in a museum and I had assembled a collection of objects to show people. I had left a bunch of things lying outdoors on a forest path and wanted to bring them in, so I grabbed an armful of tall leather boots (there were least six pairs in different styles) and walked back to the museum. By the time I reached my destination I was only carrying one pair, and thought I must have dropped the others along the way. I wasn't sure where to store the boots I had brought back, but I looked around and decided to lock them up in a tall armoire of Japanese design. I opened up the doors and there was another set of doors behind the first, and another set behind that, three in all before I reached the interior.

I decided to take my car to go back and get the rest of the stuff since I had left a lot of things lying on the path and I wasn't doing a good job of bringing them back by hand. I have a third-person impression of watching my car wind its way through a narrow gorge: at times I was afraid the rocks were too close together for the car to fit, but I found it easy to lift the car off the ground and twist it as needed to avoid the rocky outcroppings. After getting safely through the narrow rocks I felt very pleased with my success, and decided that I should spend more time driving like this, using the wind as propulsion. This jogged my memory: wind! Wasn't that one of this month's TOTMs? At that moment I became lucid and decided to attempt the task.

I raised my arms and called out in a loud voice, "Wind!" I remembered that the task required not using any active power to fly, but letting the wind pick me up and carry me wherever it might be going. So after summoning the wind, I waited passively but invited it to lift my body in the air. The air picked me right up like I was as weightless as a feather, and I relaxed into it. It was wonderfully pleasant and enjoyable to be buoyed up in this way. Curiously I looked around me, wondering where we might be going. I have the impression of thick flocks of birds darkening in the air in what seemed like abstract geometric patterns.

I recalled that the bonus task also involved mastering the elements, and wondered if I could use this same wind to knock things down on the land below without getting buffeted too much while I was floating in it. I peered down at the trees, which appeared to be somewhere between 50 to 100 feet below me (I'm terrible at estimating vertical distances). They were in full green leaf and showed no sign of being blown about excessively by the wind at its current strength. I thought it would be a shame to knock down such beautiful trees, and before I could convince myself otherwise, I felt the air around me destabilizing and woke up.
    15. May 3rd 2015 One of My Longest LD's: Sex and Exploration

      by , 05-05-2015 at 12:09 AM
I am zooming along at a good pace and there is a fork in a covered retail and food area like an outdoor mall with mostly covered sections. I veer to the fork at the left and something about the decision or the way I made the action cues me in…wait a minute, I am dreaming right now! I go around the shops looking for something interesting to check out. I see a few DC's here and there, including a couple in some kind of dessert shop.

I fade into a false awakening of being in a laying position in bed but I feel like I am still in a dream and in my dream body with no visuals at first. I start to see a view of a wall next to the bed mostly obstructed by a sleep mask. I am doubtful that this is my actual sleep mask and is in fact a dream sleep mask and I am in our old bedroom at M Blvd so obviously this is a false awakening.

I go for the TOTM to do an in dream WILD. I pull down the sleep mask and search in the darkness of my closed eyes. It still feels like I am laying in bed but I can see the room again and it seems like the same room. I decide to float up out of bed just in case I start moving my waking body. After a few seconds of nothing I start to float up in the laying position

I move on out of the bedroom door. There are two females in the living room area, one particularly petite and the other average sized. I thought about some things that I had read from some who want to put some moral taboo on dream sexuality and I decided that such thoughts were BS. I reminded myself of that decision and held each of their hands and led them into the bedroom on the other side of the living room.

After a while the visuals started to fade but I just danced my way through the void until the visuals came back up and I found myself in a very different house.

I decided it was time to go outside and headed toward what felt like the front of the house. I came to a door and reached for the handle but all I could see was a dead-bolt lock with the key side facing me and no key in hand. Instead of summoning a key I decided that the door would be unlocked and would open with a simple push and it did. I look out to a huge field with many large trees and brush hiding what may lay below.

I fly up and out over the landscape at a leisurely pace a little ways and start to get some declining visuals and decide to fly back towards the house that I came out of. As I approached it, it was a large stately house with several large balconies on the left side of the house.

It looked like either the sun had just set or that it was just before sunrise, a little darker than when the sun is fully out, but with that special lighting at those times. I see several windows with lights on and think about peeking into them to see what I might come across but instead go to a door on the left side of what looks like the back of the house.

As I enter there are a few DC's in the large room and they are introducing me to two blonde women that are coming down large and wide wooden staircase.

This is obviously a mansion house of a wealthy family that has many craftsman features, the kind of features that you don't often see any more except in restored homes. The home didn't feel old at all however. I wasn't looking for any more DC interaction and decided to explore the house instead.

I went up the stairs sort of float walking my way up and turned back towards the back of the house and into a great study.

I was planning on looking out the window to the field I flew over earlier to see what it looked like but got interested in the various intriguing items on display. One was a little statuette that looked like it was made of stone with faded paint. It was fairly simple, not intricate, figure with what looked like a crown on their head, not unlike a chess piece that was made to resemble a person. I decided I would try to morph it and it shortened and curved into the shape of a figurine of a small girl leaning over something…interesting. I see a figurine of a polar bear and without really thinking it morphs briefly into a deer with large antlers before becoming a brown bear.

I look around to my left and there are what look like a lot of nicer antique souvenirs. One is a wooden stick looking item stained darker and with some decoupage design on it that looked like something you might find in a nice tiki bar. The dream started fading again but this time I eventually could feel that I was truly back in bed. I tried for a while to see if I could drift back to sleep without moving but eventually had to a adjust my position and was too awake. #319

Took 8mg G + 500mg C around 620am after going to bed late at 2am (started G experiments one time per week after LD#300). I estimate that I woke from the above series around 8:40 first trying to get back to sleep and tossing and turning a little before eventually looking at the time on my phone showing 8:58am. Continuing "this could really be a dream right now" daytime practice with RRCIS but slacking a little too much.
