    1. Competition night #14

      by , 08-10-2014 at 03:54 PM
      Dream 1:
Faffing about trying to move out of a building. My brother keeps running off to pack more things and I'm getting impatient.

Eventually we get going in a van that contains another van. My brother derives down the road at breakneck speed, barely missing cars at the junction at the bottom of the road. I tell him off for that.

      Dream 2:
I've run out of clean undies (all packed in the van?) So I start looking for somewhere to hand clean some dirty undies. As I keep going, there are more and more bits and bobs in the sink, with people adding things as I try to clean everything and the sunk growing to accommodate the heaps of junk.

    2. The Refurbishing Wand

      by , 05-11-2014 at 07:21 AM
Morning of May 11, 2014. Sunday.

My wife Zsuzsanna and I live in a huge mansion (with a false memory of having moved there just recently, but I am not sure if our move is complete yet) with so many rooms, it is probably difficult to count them all, especially as some have not been used for a long time. The house is very old and in disrepair and, I think, belongs to the owner of our present home (a recurring association).

I soon discover that I have a device that is like a wand or small rod. It has multiple functions that work depending on which one is needed the most at a particular time. This basic idea has been somewhat sparsely recurring over many years, but sometimes with different associations and workability.

In this case, the wand does several things, including removing any sort of patina, rust, cobweb, or dust, and also automatically repairs things (such as broken pipes or holes in plaster).

My dream is very long but mostly only involves directing the wand at the various fixtures and such in the rooms that need cleaning and repair. I am amazed at how dark rust and such is transformed into smooth shiny silvery metal. Cobwebs are dissolved from corners of tables and some things are automatically polished. Screws are tightened automatically and any nails that have partly come out or any wood that has been damaged is also restored to original condition.

Some of what I do is random, though, as a few rooms need far more work than others and I only do parts of the more difficult surfaces and areas, which I plan to do additional work on later. I move the wand about and make “stripes” of transformed silver in the deeply rusted pipes and such, with a similar effect as filling in an outline of a shape with a pen or pencil (recurring over many years) - yet I am not aware of any adjustment to make the “brush” (or range) wider (similar to a brush in a graphics program by association). I am enjoying my work, though. There is not any physical stress involved, though I do know it will take time and effort.

    3. Friends and invisibility, renting a vacuum, and a bad school day

      by , 09-24-2013 at 07:43 PM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
My friends and I were having one last get-together before I moved away from the area. They were my old friends from my last few years of high school, and we were all sitting at this big picnic table that was out on the very edge of a wooden pier in the water. To get to the table, you had to cross another huge loading dock that was covered in shipping containers and fish, and also a a swinging wooden bridge that connected the two and was very wobbly. My friends were asking why I had to leave so soon and suggested I stay a few more days, but I knew I had to leave. I was staying in a big RV in an empty grassy field next to the dock, so technically I could've stayed as long as I wanted, but I really wanted to leave. We ate food and talked about the past for a while, and then I headed back to my RV. As I was crossing the wooden bridge, I heard them talking to each other, saying things like "He didn't have to leave so soon!" and "Well, he's never coming back, he never wanted to live in the south anyway." I went into the RV to pack up and secure some things, and noticed someone had put bacon in my pantry instead of in the fridge/freezer. It was still cold so I put it back in the freezer, and then took something else out of the freezer to put in the pantry. Then I realized I'd forgotten something back at the picnic table, so I ran back over there. But when I crossed the wooden bridge, the table was no longer on a pier anymore, it was on a hardwood floor with shelves in surrounding it. This didn't seem strange to me, though. I walked up to my friends but they didn't say anything to me, and that's when I looked at my reflection in the glass covering over one of the shelves and realized I was invisible and nobody could see me. I thought, "If I can just scare them, they'll be able to see me!" so I grabbed a little figurine on a shelf, broke off its ears and turned its eyes black so it looked super creepy, and then made it move in front of one of my friends. She screamed when she saw it, and immediately afterwards was able to see me. Then she told the others I was there invisible, and they all in turn let me scare them so they could see me as well.

It was late at night, and Cory and I were out looking for a place that would rent us a steam vacuum. I guess there was a huge stain in our carpet and we couldn't wait until morning to clean it up. We came across a stip mall that had a Stanley Steemer store, but I said they wouldn't be open and we should just go elsewhere. Cory said we should go check anyway, and it turned out they were open, but when we went up to the service counter, he immediately asked to reserve a copy of the new RoboCop movie on DVD. I was totally shocked because we only had the money for the vacuum and he'd just wasted it to reserve a movie that didn't come out until next year, so we went home vacuum-less.

It was the first day of school, and I was sitting in art class. The teacher had assigned us a project involving mixed media, and I'd chosen construction paper, highlighters, and colored pencils. I was trying to make a portrait of Yinepu, and worked very hard on it because I wanted it to be perfect, but I couldn't get the pieces of construction paper I'd cut to stay properly and had to resort to using the pencils for his head, and I was disappointed. I wanted to go back and fix it, but the class was over. As I was walking through the halls, everyone kept looking at me and giggling, and I had no idea why. After a few minutes of enduring it, I grabbed one of the gigglers and asked her what was so funny about me that made everyone laugh, and she pointed to the area above my head. I reached up but there was nothing there, and I realized they were seeing something I couldn't see, so I ignored them. Then I realized I had a lot of books from all my different classes, but I hadn't rented a locker yet, so I went up to the office and asked to rent one. The lady said it would be $65 for the year but when I paid the money, she said lockers wouldn't be assigned until tomorrow. I said "But what am I supposed to do with all these books?! I can't carry them all everywhere!" but she wouldn't help. Then I went to gym class, but the teacher wasn't there yet. There was a magazine rack next to the bleachers that had a copy of a Superman magazine with a drawing of Wonder Woman dressed in a Superman outfit. I was the only one there, so I just went out onto the middle of the basketball court and started rolling around like a cat. Then another student came in, a man with glasses who looked too old to be in school, and he asked me what I was doing. I told him "The teacher said today was act like a cat day." to see how many people I could get to join me in my silliness, and he actually believed me and started crawling around the floor. Soon, more students came, and the whole class was on the court acting like cats.
    4. Jam-packed move

      by , 09-07-2013 at 02:44 AM (Keitorin's Dream Log)
-A man lost his water creature. The setting was some kind of enclosed space with foliage and streaming water. Best way I can explain the creature is if it were a tadpole version of the dragon from the book I’m reading:

Whene can i Quit smoke week?-363835.jpg

Except the dragon in that book is still young at that size, that’s why I say a tadpole version. =P The creature is really just a bit bigger than a lobster.

I remember being there in some capacity and looking the other way when I hear he lost it, as if I didn’t want to get involved.

-We’re (me, mom and dad) packing our stuff in a car to move, but it looks too crowded in to me. Mom asks me to get in, but when I do, I feel very claustrophobic and have to get out. There’s a big desk in the back.

-Before moving, I go to a pool to say my goodbyes. I think I wasn’t polite as I could have been.
~Carrying like three bundled up white blankets to put into the trunk, mom is helping me. I notice that you can see semi-provocative BL images on the sides of a couple of them, but I decide to pretend it ain’t no thang and continue packing them in.

-We’re in a hotel type place and there are a few people coming and going - seems like one of them is going to stay there after we go. I am sitting on the floor or leaning over and tickling the toes of a little girl sitting on a coach as I wait. She gives me a grumpy face and kicks her feet away. Mom is disassembling the desk. I worry that she’s mad about it for a moment, but she actually almost seems gleeful as she breaks it up. Someone says “we still have two minutes” - just in case the people staying there next seem antsy.

Inspiration: Water creature - probably from the book I’m reading. Pool - possibly inspired by Free!. Same with the BL.

Notes: Why am I having so many moving dreams lately? o_O

Emotion: Panic/claustrophobia, feeling like I was rude
    5. Moving away from home

      by , 08-31-2013 at 01:59 AM (Keitorin's Dream Log)
      1) I go in the bathroom to change (at grandma’s house?), but Rane is in there changing too. When I put on the clothes, something isn’t right. They’re choking me but I can’t get them off. Rane starts helping me but is taking too long and I’m starting to panic, I start getting lightheaded and reach back to pull some Velcro apart, and the clothes fall off.

We get in a bit of a fight, something about not trusting. I say something sarcastically to her. ‘So I should just…and trust…”

      2) We’re preparing to move. There’s a truck outside. Dad is cooking something. I step down on a step where food is (spaghetti sauce?), but no one says anything about me getting the food dirty.

I ask mom if I can get my jacket, but she says I won’t need it?, but I want it.

Inside, the cats were put into rooms to keep them out of the way. Jazzy loves all over me when I go in. One cat gets out at one point and I put them back in a room. I feel sorry for them.

I remember one door was open a crack, I figure two cats must be sharing a room then if no one is using one - hopefully it’s Smoke and Jazzy since they might get along better than Spice and Jazzy.

I also remember trying to turn the lights on but they wouldn’t come on, the rooms were dark. I figured mom must have turned the breaker off. I wonder if the cats are scared of the darkness.

      3) We’re heading somewhere in a vehicle but I’m not happy and want to go back. I say something about how I will, and mom makes fun of me. ‘Oh, you will?’. There’s a white screen projecting in the back, and symbols pop up telling where we need to go. One is a Y symbol.

      4) Like 5 people getting into a pose for something.

Possible inspiration: A lot of these dreams had shades of dissatisfaction in them! Maybe that’s why I was in such a bad mood today. :/ And they were connected. I wonder if I've been falling back asleep and waking back up with this gathering of fragments. 2#: Had spaghetti the other day. Think one of the piece of clothes in #1 was a skirt I was thinking about wearing yesterday.
    6. Rabbits and Graduation

      by , 03-29-2013 at 10:39 PM
I had some difficulty initially falling asleep which disrupted attempts to use a mantra. Attempted DEILD last night. Wasn't successful at entering a lucid dream, but it did result in a very long non-lucid that resumed every time I went back to sleep.

These dreams are non-lucid but there is a very, very low level of semi-lucidity running through them, especially the later ones. I was not lucid but had some idea on a very basic level that it was not real, although I didn't realize it was a dream or even unconsciously influence the dreams. The fact that Bun popped up in the first dream was a clue that my dreaming mind was aware on at least a basic level, as summoning and petting Bun was one of my lucid goals. It's especially telling that in the dream, I was aware that this Bun was not the "real" Bun but she was still a perfect replica.

#1 - I have a pet rabbit again. I have named her Bun, after my last pet rabbit, and she looks exactly the same as my "old" Bun. I understand that this new rabbit is not my old rabbit (who died of old age) but she looks and behaves a lot like her. I don't feel sad in this dream. I feel happy that I have my rabbit back, in some form, again.

This is interesting to have popped up in a non-lucid dream, since one of my lucid goals is to summon Bun, pet her, and keep her in my base so I can play with her whenever I want to see her again. This was one of the goals I meditated on as I fell asleep. Alright, I know that's sad, but I miss her a lot.

On a side note: domesticated house-rabbits can be trained with very simple commands. They're devious, though, and not nearly as obedient as a dog.

I am building a cage for her. The cage came in a box, in several pieces, and is about 6' long. I've built a rabbit cage before, but this one is put together very oddly, so I'm having some difficulty.

In addition, New Bun is not trained like Old Bun is, so instead of obediently waiting in the same room as me while I prepare her cage, she keeps running off into areas of the apartment she shouldn't be in. I'm in an old bedroom of mine with light brown carpet. New Bun keeps chewing on the carpet and furniture, even when I tell her "No". I'm not angry, but I am a bit exasperated, because I spent so much time training the last rabbit not to do that and I don't want to have to do it all over again. I keep chasing after New Bun and carrying her back to my room, which is difficult because holding onto a squirming rabbit who doesn't want to be carried AND doesn't want to go where you're taking her is like trying to hold onto an angry water balloon.

She runs off AGAIN and this time I find her wriggling behind a server case, where there are a ton of wires. She's nibbling on the wires and doesn't pay attention to me scolding her. I pull the wires aside and try to grab her, but she wriggles in further. I disconnect the power so she doesn't electrocute herself. I have to move the entire case and disconnect all of the wires in order to get to her, and by now I'm pretty irritated.

I carry her (still as squirmy as before) back to the room and set her down. "Stay!" I command. She doesn't listen perfectly, but doesn't try to charge out the door again. I finally finish putting the cage together, and she bounds into her cage and settles down for a nap.

I wake up. I meditate on the dream and attempt to re-enter.

I fail at a DEILD and when the dream picks up again, I am non-lucid. My "mother", a woman with short blonde hair whom I have never met, comes into the room where I am petting Bun. She tells me that I need to get ready for my graduation ceremony. I close the door to Bun's cage and tell her goodbye.

The dream jumps locations and I am in a graduation ceremony that is being held at a place that is somehow simultaneously a yacht club and a water park. There is dance music playing and there is some sort of after-party. DJs have divided into Red and Blue teams, and over the course of the party, people are supposed to vote on which team's mix they like the most. Blue Team wins, although I don't particularly care. They put their mix CDs up for sale, but I'm not really interested; it's all super clubby "bro" techno. The party ends and it's time for me to pack my stuff up and move.

I wake up and use the bathroom. I meditate on the dream as I do so. When I lie back down the dream resumes. Throughout this section of the dream, I am almost nearly awake; I'm more aware that this is dreamlike but still not aware that I am dreaming, and do not affect the dream even subconsciously.

A friend of the family is helping me move to college. He looks like Dwight Shrute, for some reason, but he's not nearly as much of a jerk or nearly that creepy. The blonde haired woman - who was my mom before, but is now just a friend - rented a U-haul so she and her family could move their stuff, and is allowing me to pack some of my stuff in it since I'm moving somewhere that's sort of on the route to their new home. It's a long trip, and I ride in the back of the cab. "Dwight" chats with me the whole time. I want to chat with him about a movie about a group of people who make video games, but I can't remember the name of the movie and it's frustrating me.

Toward the end of the trip, the blonde woman reappears in the passenger seat - I hadn't known she was there, I think to myself, and think that it's so odd that she suddenly appeared there, but don't gain lucidity. I begin to look through my wallet; I only have a $20 and a $5. "Dwight" had paid for the gas and the blonde woman had paid for the U-haul, so I feel like I owe them something. I am debating the tackiness of handing them $25 total and telling them to split the money amongst themselves when I wake up.
    7. 01/06/13 Search For Nomad

by , 01-06-2013 at 08:40 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      01/06/13

      Where's Nomad?
I am flying in my Fire Valkyrie to the moon. I land on the moon and get out to take a look around. My current goal is to find Nomad because I haven't heard from him for a while. What seems like a long while. I have become convinced that the Templars have something to do with this, and I intend to investigate and see if I can find him. I focus on opening a portal. I want to find out what happened to Nomad. A portal opens and I go through it. On the other side I find I am in a place I don't recognize. It is very green and very beautiful, but I don't see any sign of Nomad.

I wonder why I have been brought here. I am still feeling convinced that the Templars did something to him, and thus I figure they probably somehow interfered with my portal to find him. I'll just have to find out directly from them. I open another portal and go through it. I am in another place I don't recognize. But this time I am not alone there. And as soon as I arrive there are alarms going off, people running around… I wonder where I have ended up. I am in the hallway of some kind of underground facility. Some kind of attack hits me, and it is draining my energy. I look around some more and I realize the people around me are Templars, and they don't look very happy to see me there. I grab a guy as he goes past me and tell him I just want to ask someone a question, nothing more. He looks rather doubtful about that, he doesn't seem to believe me. I tell him I want to know what's happened to Nomad. He chuckles slightly and asks if the nomad has wandered off… that is what nomads do after all. I tell him I want to know what he and his people have done to Nomad. He just looks at me with a blank look on his face. He clearly doesn't know anything. I tell him I want to talk to someone who does know something. A man comes down the hall, he says that would be him. He says he hears I have been harassing his people to find out where Nomad has gone… well, he'll put that question to rest right now. He says neither he nor any of his people have anything to do with my inability to get in touch with my friend Nomad. I don't believe him. I tell him he is lying. He asks if I ever considered that Nomad simply doesn't want to talk to me. I tell him he's wrong about that, and I know he did something. He says no, neither he nor any of his people did anything. Accept that and be gone. And keep them out of my dreams… or they might have to really do something. He is pissing me off. I tell him to stop lying. He says to be gone while I still have the energy to do so. The attack I have been getting hit by has continued draining energy. I tell him I'll show him how much energy I have left… I tell him this is for whatever they have done to Nomad, and I drop an immortal fire right there, the white fire incinerates everything in the area. I am now standing in a ruined underground facility. The attack on me has stopped. I realize part of the reason I am so pissed off is that I don't really have a clue what has happened to Nomad… I wonder how I will ever find out and I wake.

      B and E Without The B
I am in the yard of a house that is for sale. My mother is there with me, she says she thinks this could be the house we are looking for. She says we should go inside and look around. I ask if we should really be doing that. She says as long as the door is unlocked we can go in and look around. She goes over and tries the front door, and it opens. I follow her inside and we look around in the house. It is a large and very nice home. I am thinking there is no way we could afford to buy that home anyway. I am about to say something when I spot a cat in the corner of the room. I am officially distracted and I go after the kitty. The cat doesn't run away so I go right over to the kitty and start petting. It is a cute little tabby cat with the softest silkiest fur I have ever felt. The cat begins to purr softly. My mom has left the room to look around some more, and apparently she startled up another cat. A cute little tortie comes into the room.

I approach the second cat and start to pet. The first cat follows me, one cat for each hand. I pet both cats at the same time and hear purrs in stereo. My mom returns to the room and sees me with the cats. She said she doesn't think the cats come with the house. I comment that they had better not be abandoned kitties. A woman I don't know enters the room. It turns out she is one of the home owners. She asks what we are doing in there. I tell her I am loving on her kitties… they are sooooo cute! I scoop the purring tortie into my arms and continue petting. The woman says we weren't invited in here and should leave. My mom says she is definitely interested in buying the place. The woman seems to slightly change her attitude. She is still annoyed at us for being there but is now trying to hide it, she is clearly hoping to convince us to buy the house. My mother and her start talking about money as I continue to love on the two kitties. A third cat enters the room, I put down the tortie to pet the new cat. The new cat is a solid white cat. So many cute kitties! I am in kitty cat heaven! I am loving on the cats when I wake up next to my own pretty kitty.

      Ambush!
I am playing a virtual reality version of Assassin's Creed II, but I am playing as a female Assassin. I am walking through one of the cities looking for anything interesting. I think there are still some glyphs I need to find before continuing the missions. So I look at a map contained in my iPad which is effectively disguised as a book. I locate a building that has a glyph that I have not yet decoded and head for it. There are buildings in the way. I am about to start climbing one when someone yells out. It is a guard. I think better of climbing the building as I don't really want to get in a fight right now. But in spite of the fact I don't do anything out of the ordinary the guards seem to identify me as someone they don't like and they come towards me. When they get closer one of them calls me an 'Assassino' and they all attack me. I pull my sword out to defend myself, wondering what the hell they decided to attack me for when I hadn't been doing anything.

I hadn't even been looking for a fight. So I am in a fight now and there are five enemies. I'm used to the fighting system of the virtual reality version so I take them out quickly. Now for that glyph. I head towards the building while staying on the ground so I don't trigger another attack. Well that is what I am hoping… but it doesn't work. I step around a corner and a group of guards immediately attacks me on sight. I wonder why they are doing that. I know for a fact I am not notorious right now… well there is a tiny bit of notoriety due to the previous fight… but not enough to trigger an instant attack. So I defend myself again. By the time I finish with the four that attacked more of them have joined in, and there are a couple of brutes involved so my counter attacks aren't always working. I ask a guard what they attacked me for and he just tells me to give up and die. So I keep fighting until I finally get rid of this wave of attackers. I look around and see everyone is watching me. A couple of civilians run away screaming while one cowers against a building and begs for his life. I put my sword away and tear down a couple posters with my face on them to get rid of my notoriety. I am clear now. But that hasn't helped me in the past. I am almost to the building. I approach the building with the glyph and I find I am under attack yet again. I think maybe this time I'll avoid the attack and just run away. So I do, and they chase after me yelling that I'll never escape. I am about to jump into a hiding spot but then more guards come after me. And more… and more… it seems they never stop coming. I realize I am going to have to fight after all, and now there are way too many of them. I wonder if I'll be able to handle all of them. I check my supply of medicines and find I have a full bag. So I turn and fight them. The ones susceptible to counter attack aren't a problem, though the brutes are a bit of an issue. I get hit quite a few times by them and I have to use a couple of my medicines. I finally win the battle, which I think was against… I'm not sure how many guards. But it seems to go on forever. I wonder if there is any point in trying to get to the glyph I've been after. Is there any chance to get to it before being attacked? I am trying to determine the best course of action when I wake up.
    8. Problems with Water

      by , 04-04-2012 at 10:46 AM
      First

I'm in a bunch of people that are being moved from a city to another area, where the water is clean. We need to stand on boxes and they are using an excavator to throw us into a truck. A womans leg is severed in the process and flies of the truck. A young girls asks if she is alright and she say it's okay, since there will be clean water where they're taking us.

The destination seems to be a large concrete facility. There is a large pool of water flowing trough the building. The girl is swimming with the woman, with her leg now back in place. They are happy to be able swim but the water is not good for drinking. We go looking for drinking water.

      Second

I'm in a store and there is a counter with drinks, coffee and such. The others order what they want and when it's my turn I just want water. There is a self service automat for water but what comes out seems moldy and dirty. I ask what's going on and a service person gives my water from the faucet in the kitchen.

After we get the drinks we apparently need to pay them at the checkout. I join the line even though I just have water. I don't know if it costs anything.

      Third

At the coffee place with N. I see the name of a comic their selling. It's in some language I only speek a little. N notices it and tells me what one of the words in the title means. I know another one and we are happy we have decoded the whole title. We sit at a table with three other people. The seem to be speaking at least two different languages. I comment about on of them, a gir, being able to speak three European languages, but not English, which I think is weird since English is so usefull. She understands me and replies to me in Finnish. I'm impressed since she actually knows four European languages.

    9. African Takeover

      by , 01-17-2012 at 05:36 AM (LMR's Mental Adventures)
I wake up; my mom comes rushing in the room packing stuff into a suitcase. I ask her why she is packing stuff up. She tells me that the Africans are taking over. I don't freeze with fear, I start packing all of my stuff into a bag pack. I look through the window and see the Africans closing in on us. I then begin to rush towards the door. While rushing towards the door I realize that I don't have my iPod. I run back to pick it up. While running out of the door I see some large Africans walking up the stairs holding boxes. I scan the area to find my brother and notice slowly walking down the stairs on the other side of the building. We meet up in the parking lot. While in the parking lot we run and end up at my grandma’s house miles and miles away from my house. All of my family is in my grandma's. It kind of feels like a party. I ask my grandma where T and B went. She says they are in my room. They both run out like party animals and I get energized and forget my house has been taken over. Then I began to mock T because he’s wearing summer clothes in winter. He tries to defend himself from the mocking but just gives up. Somehow my mother, brother, and I manage to make it back to my house. I see Africans rambling and moving stuff around in my room. Then I go up the stairs and burst through the door. When I enter I go on a crazy rampage eventually making the Africans retreat.
    10. New house

My family mobed to Florida and we had a really big house. The second floor had a balcony. I was walking around the house, just exploring all of the rooms. Upstairs I came to a hallway. On the right was a room with bright red wallpaper and a cherry wood table. I kept going and at the end of the hallway I entered a wide, open room. It was really bright, despite the fact that there weren't that many windows. You had to walk through this room to get to the other rooms. One of them was going to be my mom's room. I can't remember what any of the others were for. I walked back into the hallway and passed the room with the wooden table. Something about that room gave me a bad vibe, like I shouldn't go in there. I ignored it and went back downstairs.

My brother was on the couch and my mom was standing by the kitchen. I told her I really liked the house, but it was a little hot since we were in Florida. She told me I'd het used to it. After that I felt my nose becoming clogged and it was hard to breathe. This often happens to me in real life. I woke up and my nose was clogged also.

      Vesterguard's Dream

29-08-11 Fragment. I think Puffin is flying around in circles above me. Someone is telling me that they need a person or a swallow to increase the chance of success. Might be Celia of Weeds.

I am picking up a coffee table for a family friend (or family member).

It is not that big and it has to get loaded into a truck. I am loading the truck in my grandfather's drive way trying to make everything fit. The way I do this is by both using a side opening and the rear.

Think my grandfather is talking about a guy that both him and Steen are afraid of. Telling me that I am packing it all wrong.

I tell them to get off my back as I am trying to help, besides I am pretty confident I can make room for all of it.

I notice the coffee table we have just picked up has some severe scratches from transport.

They keep bitching about my packing skills and I tell them I will kick their arses if they don't lay off, which they don't. I run towards them, they flee inside the house and downstairs. The stairs are wider than normal and where the toilets are.

Besides this there is a thin yellow brick wall securing that no one falls down and the wall behind the stairs is covered in mirrors. They keep running from me so I pick up a big hammer from just outside the door and know one of the bricks out of the wall and throw it downstairs.

I break some table and make a mark in one of the mirrors and I think to myself that it might be tricky replacing that mirror in the position it is in. I feel sort of gleeful for this.

I am lying in my bed in our new flat in Japan. I want to.. ehm.. please myself, but my mum is calling me that food is served. I know before my sister tells me that it has meat in it.

I do stop to think about sushi alternatives without fish (?) but sort of forget about it again.

“But mum, it has beef in it”. It doesn't matter my mum say, though it certainly matters to me.

She brings the pack of food up to my room and on it, it says: “Vegetarian, with Beef”. This of course I find utter ridiculous, but also wonder briefly if it is some sort of tofu solution.

My mum or my sister tells me that she is already late, and that she may in fact have missed the public transport.

      skip

There is a guy in my room, or I am in his and he tells me that he has an electrician coming over because there is no juice in his lamp output.

I look up and it looks like the one in my ceiling, though this is neatly attached to the wooden ceiling.

I plug one of those screwdrivers in that will tell you if there is current, which I find there is. I tell him there is plenty of juice, but that he must have done something wrong.
    12. Spider Apocalypse

      by , 08-29-2011 at 04:55 AM
Had this one last night, really weird. Includes Britt, Laura, Dani, Niki, and myself.

So I'm at my old house on that dead end street again, and I'm in the living room with my dog (he's a wiener dog). I'm petting him while he's knawing on his basketball toy, when I hear this sound coming from outside, under the window facing the driveway. The best I can describe it is someone sucking jello through a straw, mixed with a dying animal and chewing. It was really gross. I stood up and tried to look out the window to see what it was, but that didn't work. Suddenly my stepmom came stampeding into the living room shouting about something or other, looking really freaked out. She scooped up my dog and said we had to leave town, and went out the back door. I followed her asking why as we walked down the driveway, heading to the street where my car was parked. When we got to where the noise came from my stepmom stopped walking and looked down at the ground. There was a look of pure horror on her face, and she started to cry. I took this chance to snatch my dog from her. She plopped down on the ground and started poking whatever was there, muttering something about "the spiders". Somehow I knew what she meant by that, and started to get really scared. I didn't want to look at what was on the ground, but I felt I had to. I took a quick glimpse, and saw the body of a small dog, or what used to be one. (Don't know where this dog came from; I only had one.) It looked like it used to be a pit bull, but was shrunken down to the size of a chihuahua. All of it's flesh, blood, and organs had been "sucked" out of it, leaving only a pile of bones vacuum-wrapped in it's skin. Also, what used to be the head was nearly separated from the rest of the body. I knew this had been the work of a spider, and started hustling to my car.

(Random 'facts' I knew about the situation that I was thinking about as I was going to my car: 1) In this world, there are grey/black spiders the size of your hand. They are growing in numbers and slowly taking over the Earth. 2) The spiders are really hard to kill, but can easily kill you. 3)The spiders attack you by jumping on your neck, biting you, and sucking everything up, like a vampire dust buster thingy. Then they crawl inside the wound and eat everything else. 4) In some rare cases the spiders don't eat the flesh of humans; instead they kill them, enter their brain, and control them like zombies. 5) In order to escape the spiders, I needed to leave where I was and head south, FAST.)

Once I got to my car, I put my dog in the back, along with a big duffel bag of stuff I suddenly had with me. There was already a bunch of stuff in my car. It like we had already planned an evacuation, but didn't want to leave until we were sure the spiders were going to invade. I got in the driver's seat. My stepmom, who had managed to snap out of it, went in the passenger seat. I really hated her (I do in real life, too), but I wasn't mean enough to abandon her in the spider apocalypse. (At this point my thoughts turned to the "past": my dad had died from fighting the spiders; somehow my stepmom and I decided to ignore the fact that we hated each other, and just stick together to better survive the spider-thing. You know, like how when people are stranded on a desert island, they're sort of forced to work together or die.) I started driving off. While I was driving I noticed the whole town looked really spooky. All the trees were dead and black, and the grass was yellow and patchy, mixed with dry dirt. There was nobody outside at all, except some dead bodies. There were no lights on, anywhere. Everything looked really run-down and crappy. All the cars were rusty and junky (broken windows, doors left open, flat tires, turned over, crashed, etc.) and were just lying around wherever, while the houses were abandoned and destroyed (broken windows, doors open, nasty shingles, empty, etc.). The sky was sepia tone (which is cool because the sky really was like this one day), but I couldn't see the sun or any clouds. I drove for a while before my stepmom started telling me some directions to a "safe house". We stopped at a building that was once white, but now almost grey. It looked like a trailer home without the wheels, or windows. We went up to the door, and my stepmom knocked. A lady answered the door; she was tall and skinny, with greasy black hair pulled back into a pony tail. She wore way too much makeup, but her eyes still looked sunken in and tired. Oh, and she wore orange shorts and a white shirt. "Hiii, welcome to Hooters!" she said. I gave my stepmom a "WTF" look as we went inside. The Hooters lady closed the door. Not only did the building look like a trailer home on the outside, but it did on the inside too. It was really long to my left and right, but so narrow that I could barely turn around. There was nasty, thin carpeting on the floors, and nothing on the walls. Besides some other random people lying in the hall, the only thing there was a round wooden table with a pile of wadded blankets on it. The Hooters lady went to the table and grabbed a ragged, thin blue blanket. "Will you be sleeping here tonight?" I wondered why she was still acting like this place was a restaurant; it didn't look like one, and I doubted she had any food to serve us. My stepmom said yes, and so the lady led us down the hall to the left until she got to a door. She opened it up and threw the blanket inside, let us go in, and then closed the door. There wasn't any light, so it was hard to see, but I knew there was a bunch of people in this room too. I 'went to sleep', and woke up the next day. I went out of the room to try and find the Hooters lady to pay her, but she was nowhere to be found. I went back to ask my stepmom what to do about this, but I couldn't find her either. I decided I would just leave, since my stepmom was probably dead, and I didn't want to hang back and get killed myself.

I got in my car and drove until the sky was blue again, and there was plant life/people around me. I got off the road, stopped at a motel (it was white on the outside, but I didn't see the name of it), and got a room. The guy led me to my room, explaining I'd have to buddy up with someone because they didn't have any open rooms, with everybody trying to escape the spiders. He opened the door for me, gave me my key, and left. There were two twin beds in the room, with a window in the middle and white walls (like my dorm room, except plainer looking and sorta junky). To my surprise, the other person in the room was my friend Brittany. We were both surprised to see each other, and happy we had both survived the spiders. I asked her where the rest of her family was; she was quiet for a few seconds, and instead of answering, she showed me around the room. She had some clothes in the sliding door closet next to the door, and some bags/clothes around her bed. It was sort of cluttered, but that's to be expected. (It's hard to be organized when you're on the run from spiders, and have to live with everything you own in a motel room.) She told me she'd been living here for a while, and that it was really safe, and the people running the hotel didn't even charge anyone because it was a safe house now. I set down my one bag next to my bed (which only had one old sheet on it), and went back to my car to get the rest of my stuff. Once I had everything inside the room, it was even more cluttered, but we could still walk around easily enough. My dog suddenly appeared in the room, which is weird because I lost track of him for a while there. I was about to close the door, when suddenly a gray spider ran through. Britt and I screamed. I just so happened to have a crowbar in my hand, so when it jumped at me, I whacked it really hard. It made a 'crack' sound, and blood spattered everywhere. The spider flew over to the window, but disappeared when if fell in our junk.

I shut the door all the way and locked it. We knew the spider was only stunned because I had hit it with a blunt object, so we had to find it and kill it before it woke up. I started searching for the spider while Britt looked for a sharp object. While we searched we were freaking out. I said, "Where did that come from?! I thought this was a spider free area! Are they migrating that fast?!" Britt said, "Dude I don't know! Just find it! Maybe it hitched a ride on somebody's stuff when they came here? Like somebody didn't look over their shit properly or something?" Britt pulled out an old rusty handsaw from somewhere. It had a red handle, and all the teeth were worn off, but it was still sharp. She demonstrated how we would properly kill the spider when we found it. "I think it might have fallen below the window," she said. I moved some of my stuff from below the window, and found the grey spider. It was just lying there, still stunned. Britt rushed over with the handsaw, put it on the spider, and pushed down. I helped push too. We managed to cut the spider in half (the outside of it was steel hard, but the inside was soft and fleshy, so once we pushed hard enough to cut through the skin the rest took no effort). Blood spattered from the spider again. Once we knew we had killed it, we did a high five. Britt went to get somebody to dispose of the body. When she opened the door, Laura was on the other side.

Britt and I were surprised/happy to see Laura. She came inside holding a cleaver. We asked her how she found us, and she told us she was staying in the motel with Niki, and had seen me bring my stuff inside. She showed us her cleaver like it was her prized possession, and told us how it was really good at killing spiders. I talked to her while Britt went to get someone to take care of the spider. After a while I looked outside the window. The view was really pretty. It was an ocean bank, surrounded by long grass with two trees on each side. One was a palm tree (right) and one was a willow (left). The sky was blue with a few white clouds. In the middle was some random guy fishing. He was all decked out in fishing gear and stuff. After catching a small silver fish he left, so I could see the water better. It was clear blue and sparkly. It dropped off from the bank immediately. While I was looking at the pretty view an orca swam up and purposely beached itself on the bank. I wasn't sure whether to be worried or not. At first I freaked out, thinking it was a sign of the spiders coming, but when I looked at it, it was smiling and rolling around happily, so I knew it was okay. After it went back in the water I looked back to Laura, who was still talking about all the spiders she had killed with her cleaver.

Britt came back in the room, and with her was Dani. She said she had found her while looking for someone to clean up the spider. We were all happy to see each other, but after a while I asked Britt if she had actually found anyone to take care of the spider. Dani answered by saying her dad was coming with a wood chipper. We all looked at her, surprised. "Your dad is here?" I said, since everyone else seemed to be parentless. "Yeahhh...?" said Dani. "He has a woodchipper? Cool!" said Laura. Dani's dad entered the room carrying his "handheld woodchipper" (he had to duck to get through the door). We all said hi. Dani's dad grabbed the two pieces of the spider and threw it in the wood chipper. He left to go outside so he could finish the job without getting spider-puree in out room. We all started talking about what we were planning to do. Dani apparently had just gotten here, so she had no idea. Britt said she had been here for a while, and was planning to move further south soon. I agreed that that was a good idea (since I wasn't sure about where that spider came from). Laura agreed too, and we decided to head out tonight together. Laura went back to her room to pack up, while Britt and I packed up too. Dani stood there until her dad came back to show us his spider killing tool, which was like a shiny dagger. Dani and her dad left the room, leaving Britt and I packing. This is where I woke up.

    14. 03/15/11 Party Crashing, Moving Day, Eternal Dream

by , 03-15-2011 at 10:54 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: I am starting a two month experiment based in Mortal Mist with a couple of other users, KayTea and mentalenforcer, to make a MILD attempt at least once per night for two months straight. It seemed like this would help keep KayTea motivated, and I also think I need to get more consistent lucids and recall. I used to have a lucid most every night, sometimes more, and good recall. My numbers have crashed lately, so I hope this will get me back on the right track again. This is night one. I had one lucid, though the lucid is not the one I was aiming for in my MILD. I had the dream I was aiming for in my MILD, but it wasn't lucid… well, I guess that's sort of success…

      Party Crashing
I am at what looks like an office party, I am not very pleased because I have been forced to give up on looking for a game design job for the time being and I am working at a hospital data center again. This party isn't for the data center staff, it seems the hospital never really shows their appreciation for us, rather it's for the nurses. I won't argue that the nurses are important and to be appreciated, but why do us data center computer operators always get ignored? I feel entitled to some of the celebration. They have lots of cake, it looks delicious. They won't notice if a little of it is missing… so I take a piece. The icing is the best I have ever tasted short of my mother's homemade frosting!

I eat the cake, taking time to enjoy every bite. I want more… I take more… and then some more. They are bound to notice the change now. Sure enough, they notice me there eating cake and they know I'm not supposed to be there. One of the nurses asks if I'm not from the data center, I don't want to lie, so I say yes. She says it's nice to meet me, help myself to cake if I want it. I think she might be being sarcastic, but her smile is genuine. No one minds that I'm here, so I help myself to another piece of cake. If I have to work here, I'll do it on a sugar high!

      Moving Day
I am with my mother and we are looking through our new house, which is nothing short of a mansion. This house is already ours, the only thing we are doing now is looking through the place and figuring out where we are going to put our stuff. We'll need more stuff to fill a house this big! Right now the seller's stuff is still in there, but it is in the process of being moved out. Movers are coming in and going out with loads of stuff. I leave on my own and explore areas that the movers haven't come to yet. There are so many rooms, I am planning on where I'm going to put all of my crap. I must have more crap than I do in waking life. My mother is telling me not to take up too much space with my stuff. I wonder why since there is so much room. There is much more room than we need… why are we moving into a place so big? We wouldn't be moving into a house like this! This triggers a RC and I find I am dreaming.

Yay! I start by flying, I head up a wide flight of stairs to the upper level of the mansion. It is the third floor, and I see there are many windows up there to take advantage of natural lighting. I want to go outside and fly. I take a chair and try to smash a window… strong window… I hit it harder and it breaks, I clear the shards out and then leave through the window. It's time to complete a task. What do I want to do? I remember working on a video game a friend and I are making, so I decide to dream about that. I look to find a place I can use to start development of the area without starting from nothing. I am still looking for that when I wake. Damn.

      Eternal Dream
I am in what looks like either a small town or maybe an area on the outskirts of a larger city. It is a pleasant area, quiet with a lot of nice shops along the streets. There is a larger shopping center at the main intersection with a store that reminds me of Walgreens, and a grocery store, an arts and crafts store like Michael's, and a bank, but everything else is a bunch of smaller shops.

As I explore the place I make note of the shops. The antique shop on the corner across the street from the shopping center is exactly how I'd pictured it. Other shops along the streets include a jewelry store, a boutique that seems to sell some unusual clothing and souvenir type items, a book store that has both new and used books for sale, a martial arts dojo / exercise gym,

a community college type place, a gun shop, and a place that announces it sells everything Renissance. There seems to be most anything anyone could want, and some things I wouldn't have thought of. Cool. I am making an effort to remember this for when I get home, I can model this stuff. I wish I had a camera or something with me to remember the place better. I continue exploring, heading towards what looks like the main city. But I can't go any farther… there is a massive sinkhole? The crevice is so deep and there is boiling lava in the bottom of it… um… wtf? I head in the other direction. I find a residential area and then another sinkhole / crevice, more lava. I wander back into the area I started in. Something is odd about the gym. The exercise machines which have always looked a bit like torture devices in their design are actually torture devices.

The people working out aren't working out, they're being tortured… burned… crushed… flayed… having their bodies forced into unnatural positions… the people I had thought were personal trainers are the torturers and they are taking pleasure in every cry of pain and plea for mercy… this isn't right… I go to look for a way out of town again, and I find a small bridge over one of the crevices. It is narrow and perilous. I try it anyway. As I cross over I am attacked by fire demons or elementals or something like that, and I wake up in bed. I get up, I have my own place, but that doesn't seem odd to me. I go into the kitchen and get a drink. It's time to get up. I want to go look at the book store and see what I can find out about creepy dreams like the one I just had.
    15. Spilled fish

by , 03-11-2011 at 07:53 AM (Trial and Error)
(a dream I remembered from a few years ago)

Me and my mom had apparently just moved into a new place. There were boxes everywhere, no furniture, just boxes everywhere.
We were trying to gather up our pet fish had begun to swim out of the tank. Some flopped around on the floor, and we had trouble getting them since they were to slimy and smooth. Some were swimming around in tiny patches of water around the house. We kept trying to grab them out of the strange self sustaining hunks of water (only strange after awakening) but we could never seem to grasp them.

After a while we had got some it, but were freaking out because we knew the others were going to die. I notice my mom is not in the room anymore, and I hear a shriek come from the neighboring room.
I yell to her to ask her what happened.
She walks out holding two dead hands of a man. They were greenish blue, decaying slowly, and ripped up.
She says "You don't want to know."

The shock from the randomness of what had happened collapsed the dream at that point.
