    1. Exchanging Walls at Gellibrand Street

      by , 08-29-2017 at 02:29 PM
Morning of August 29, 2017. Tuesday.

My family and I as we appear now are living back in an altered version of Gellibrand Street in Clayfield. Over time, there are some abstract concepts of needing to remake part of our house (though it was actually an apartment) by switching two front wall sections. This mainly includes exchanging a wall with a window with an area where there is more plumbing (with two silver metal pipes).

I somehow manage to have this done (with no dream self memory regarding the physical dynamics of the act) whereby the walls have been exchanged. The room with the window is now closer to the entrance and the room with more plumbing is at the right (front of the building viewpoint).

At one point, I start to realize that, because the pipes come from the ground, it is not possible to connect them properly unless many adjustments are made and new parts are purchased. I look at the pipes coming up from the floor and see there is nothing they will presently connect to, as what they were meant to connect to is now in the other room.

I then decide that it is not feasible to rebuild the house with this orientation (again, relating to the pipes), so I undo it as if it never happened (though I wake up realizing I am on my right side instead of my left).

This was part of a longer series of dreams, including resets and partial repeats of this one, a few other dreams related to pipes, and a few unrelated dreams (all in all, about fifteen non-lucid and semi-lucid dreams on this particular date, which is not uncommon, not including the hundreds of hypnagogic sequences).

In this case, I was vaguely aware of my conscious mind creating my dream’s dynamics and symbolism (which is quite common and has remained one of the puzzles as to why other people do not seem to understand the meaning of their dreams).

Exchanging the walls directly relates to absentmindedly sleeping on my right side for a time instead of my left. I mostly only sleep on my left side as sleeping on my right sometimes causes indigestion and anxiety (one reason being that the stomach and its weight is naturally oriented to the left side of the body). The pipes in this dream relate to the digestive system (though in other dreams, depending on the dream type, can also relate to the circulatory system, the dynamics of dream induction and waking as directly related to the glymphatic clearance pathway, among other causes). The pipes in this dream were mainly in two locations from the floor, one lower than the other, which associates with one being symbolic of the esophagus and the other, the duodenum. The causal effect is based on the norovirus I had yesterday.

Although different types of dreams have entirely different meanings (which many people typically fail to differentiate), often simply waking transition symbolism, biological symbolism is quite common in my dreams, even in some stages of hypnagogia, where I clearly see patterns of the neural web (as in just prior to this dream), which can often be used to automatically control dream state induction (especially in lucid hypnagogia, where I “step into” the preferred dream setting). Ordinarily, water symbolizes induction into the dream state (often a river or stream or, within certain stages of sleep more towards morning, the ocean). Though that is true here, it takes on different dynamics out of subliminal awareness that I am “sleeping on the wrong side” after the very common water induction (at least two dreams per sleeping period for over fifty years) begins.

From “My Dream Journalist Creed”, article 1: It is wholly unreasonable and offensively ignorant to assume that the time spent in preparing for bed, going to bed and going to sleep (and including the dreaming process itself), and waking up and getting out of bed in preparation for the day, is completely excluded from the dynamics and symbolism of the dream state, especially as this is one of the most basic and continual events in life. Waking up for the day is the most important act that a person can perform. Without it, there is no life, no conscious self. This is why many non-lucid dreams are inherently symbolic of the basic need for the return to consciousness (to attend to physical needs or as an alert to an unknown environmental noise), yet in virtually infinite ways.

    2. Connecting and Fixing Pipes

      by , 08-29-2017 at 09:43 AM
Morning of August 29, 2017. Tuesday.

I am living with my family at an unknown residence. There are similar associations as with another dream of this date regarding plumbing and connecting pipes. However, in this dream, the pipes are mostly white plastic whereas in my other dream, they were silver metal.

The bottom of the house is about three feet above ground level. I am on the right side of the house, which may be loosely modeled after the one on Gellibrand Street in Clayfield. I see that I need to reconnect at least two pipes, possibly more. One pipe has a different type of softer material that bends easily and is partially transparent. I notice that one pipe has an irregular hole as if cut at an angle and making somewhat of a triangular flap, its texture almost being like a bicycle tire. I put pressure on it to see how big the hole expands (to check how extensive the leak could be) and the pipe breaks in half.

I then consider that I need to buy a new connection. The connection is like a combination of about three pipes and the softer piece that now almost looks like a large sandwich bag tied around the area where two pipes connect at about a ninety-degree angle. There is another person present, unknown, yet who seems to be a friend who is watching me, possibly here to help.

An unknown younger male in the front yard of the house next door (to my left) comes over to annoy us. I tell him that he is trespassing and punch him in the face and stomach a few times. Illogically, I somehow do this while sitting cross-legged on the ground even though he is standing. He does not react at all.

I have had similar dreams (relating to pipes) all my life. Sometimes they have a completely different mood and essence than in other cases. I recently had one of trying to get water to containers in a miniature zoo within a three-tiered cage (“Plumbing Troubles in a Three-Tiered Miniature Zoo” of August 26, 2017).

I am going to have to assume that this dream relates to bad indigestion and stomach clenching related to a virus of yesterday that lasted about twenty-four hours. Generally, plumbing has been validated to mean at least four different things depending on the dream type; blood circulation of the real physical body (in real time, especially when a limb is going numb from a problematic sleeping position), the digestive system (including a need to rehydrate), a need to wake and use the bathroom, and neural energy patterns related to circadian rhythms based on a certain type of coalescence waking symbolism. Although the presence of the preconscious as an imposer seems to suggest coalescence waking symbolism (especially as I punch him to no avail), it seems more about healing the physical body and the digestive system in this case, especially considering the “plastic sandwich bag” association. This may be an incidental carryover of the miniature zoo dream but with a different meaning unless the zoo dream was considered as indirectly prescient. Otherwise, I have had many precognitive dreams related to my physical health since early childhood. Unlike other forms of prescience, it can possibly be explained by the body being “aware” of a potential condition before the conscious mind is, yet which sometimes occurs years in advance.

    3. Head Shop Visit

      by , 06-15-2016 at 12:18 PM
June 14, 2016: #2 of 3: I am in what appears to be a head shop examining various pipes made for the purpose of smoking marijuana. They are very cleverly made out of various materials such as wood, glass, and stone. One of the pipes is very intricately carved out of wood. It has a recess for your chin which places the outlet of the pipe right at your lips. It is intended more as a work of art and sculpture than as a practical means for smoking pot. It appears to be carved out of mahogany or some other dark, hard wood. I pick it up, examine it closely, and even fit it to my chin to see how it works. I wake.

    4. Bathtub with Grill

      by , 06-26-2015 at 12:26 PM
Morning of June 26, 2015. Friday.

I seem to be in the fictional tall pipe house yet again (in an unknown region - but some versions are similar to my older sister’s house on Loomis Street in America and with the fictional utility room and storage area at the southwest corner), but this time it involves an unusual bathtub that has a large grilled rectangular prism adjacent to one end that is implied to be directly above the large utility room (with the high ceiling) that is on the first floor though with a dirt floor in most versions of this setting and now apparently has at least one tall pipe leading down from the bathtub drain to the room below (though it is usually the toilet that has the long narrow vertical pipe that becomes misaligned). The focus is very vivid and “realistic” materialistically but somewhat nonsensical in terms of aesthetics and potential design. The large grill is a box-like structure (a grill-like plane on all sides) on the faucet end of the bathtub. The faucet comes out through about the central area of the side of the grill that faces the bathtub, it seems.

I find it remarkable in afterthought how such a three-dimensional fictional structure can be created so convincingly as such in a dream. In my dream, I decide to clean the grill, at least the bathtub-facing side, which is quite rusty as well as dusty (and I briefly contemplate why I had not tried to clean it previously) - in fact, the dirt and rust is nearly solid within all the grill spaces, though the faucet seems to be working fine (though the box-like structure seems like just a fancy cover for the pipes going in and out at the end of the bathtub - the bathtub being more near the central area of the bathroom in an unlikely layout). Over time, I use a whisk broom and, even though all of the spaces are cleared almost effortlessly, some of the vertical bars, being quite thin and mostly now composed of rust, break off easily at a light touch, though not that much damage occurs and all the spaces are otherwise cleared completely of rust and dirt so that it even appears somewhat shiny again. I notice how I can now see inside the structure (as well as through the spaces of the adjoining perpendicular grilled plane) and the running water is much louder as well - including a clearer metallic gurgling sound within the structure. It is loud but pleasant.

Looking down through the top (horizontal) grill of the structure, I see that the water going through the bathtub drain ends up on the dirt floor in the utility and storage area below, though it is presently a small puddle. I am not concerned about this odd plumbing setup and it does not even strike me as unusual or requiring fixing (or adjusting the tall pipe alignment).

This dream seems primarily an intriguing (though greatly exaggerated in size) distortion of my cleaning of the front room computer’s CPU fan the other day by removing the fan’s cover (where the vents were almost solid with dust clumps - causing the computer to not stay on). I did find the “realism” of my dream (in terms of solidness, movement, and effect change as well as the motions of my hands in my work) quite interesting.

    5. The Refurbishing Wand

      by , 05-11-2014 at 07:21 AM
Morning of May 11, 2014. Sunday.

My wife Zsuzsanna and I live in a huge mansion (with a false memory of having moved there just recently, but I am not sure if our move is complete yet) with so many rooms, it is probably difficult to count them all, especially as some have not been used for a long time. The house is very old and in disrepair and, I think, belongs to the owner of our present home (a recurring association).

I soon discover that I have a device that is like a wand or small rod. It has multiple functions that work depending on which one is needed the most at a particular time. This basic idea has been somewhat sparsely recurring over many years, but sometimes with different associations and workability.

In this case, the wand does several things, including removing any sort of patina, rust, cobweb, or dust, and also automatically repairs things (such as broken pipes or holes in plaster).

My dream is very long but mostly only involves directing the wand at the various fixtures and such in the rooms that need cleaning and repair. I am amazed at how dark rust and such is transformed into smooth shiny silvery metal. Cobwebs are dissolved from corners of tables and some things are automatically polished. Screws are tightened automatically and any nails that have partly come out or any wood that has been damaged is also restored to original condition.

Some of what I do is random, though, as a few rooms need far more work than others and I only do parts of the more difficult surfaces and areas, which I plan to do additional work on later. I move the wand about and make “stripes” of transformed silver in the deeply rusted pipes and such, with a similar effect as filling in an outline of a shape with a pen or pencil (recurring over many years) - yet I am not aware of any adjustment to make the “brush” (or range) wider (similar to a brush in a graphics program by association). I am enjoying my work, though. There is not any physical stress involved, though I do know it will take time and effort.
    6. 2/8 Subway and our water valve..lol

      by , 02-08-2013 at 09:25 PM
      Bed: 12:00
woke up: 4:30, back to bed 4:34 (not enough time for vivid dreams apparently)

My dreams were not that vivid and I think the reason was once I woke up at 4:30 I just went straight back to sleep.

      1. The first dream I had I was trying to get subway, and I was driving around this weird area that I felt as if I knew where it was in the dream world, and it had some loose connection to real life as to where it was but it was just not a logical connection. At one part of the dream I was with a group of people including this one girl that I knew a long time ago. The place was kind of an outdoor place with public tables that looked like the outdoor seating at a mcdonalds restaurant except without the umbrellas and more set in stone rather than cheap metal or plastic and it was roomier, so more people could sit at one table. I saw a group of people but in my head I knew it was 6 people? anyways so the next thing I remember is I'm leaving and apparently its dark now and I drive to a subway but I have to go through a closed gas station to get there. I walk in one door and Im looking at the gas station from a birds eye view and for some reason the guy behind the counter is still there, he doesnt say anything even though Im walking through his store and the lights are off. I finally get subway at the end before I wake up.

      2. I dream my dad was in our house for some reason, my parents split and he lives about 7 states away lol. We were in the dining room except it was an office now that he was living here. It started snowing inside the office and his papers and whole office started to get wet so he was like oh shit its probably the water filtration system. So we go to the basement and I look at these large pipes that aern't there in real life. Theres one red cap right near another red cap thats connected to a giant cylinder of metal for something else and I tell my dad this is probably it and he comes down to watch. I open the cap and theres this disgusting puke like substance spewing out and for some reason I know its called "peroxide ____" just dont remember the second word. I start saying GET A BUCKET and i run away and throw up then i find a bucket a few yards away. I go back to put a bucket on the floor and my dad just shoved a carpet under the spilling puke stream so i put the bucket on top of the carpet/doormat thing. Thats about all I remember.
    7. Pipe Dream

      by , 11-08-2012 at 07:44 PM (Cinder's Dreams Gallery)
      (LOL PUN)

My dream(s) is/are fragmented, and I can't remember the sequence because I forgot to recall.... AGAIN!

I'm in my dorm for a while, then I think I went out to do a test? (I don't remember walking out), but anyways I got the result and it was really bad.

I went into some kind of portal thing and appeared in some kind of dimension filled with interconnected pipes. I have no idea how but I managed to go down and go into some kind of door.

I'm in Valucre and I'm roleplaying as a wolf that wreak havoc everywhere.

I'm going around shooting a certain group of people with a gun that doesn't work, but somehow manage to banish/kill them when they are shot at enough.
    8. A very strange set of dreams.

      by , 05-26-2012 at 02:42 PM
Ok, so this was a really weird nights's sleep.

I can't remember going to sleep, but it was some time around 1am. I had not been drnking, and have never done drugs; so it wasn't either of those. It was, however, extremely hot. reams that I can remember, and tonnes of short seconds-long dreams.

So it started with me at some kind of dock late at night, there was a woman in chinease attire (red) and a strong looking guy with typical film-set style fighting gear on. Me and him were fighting; and it became apparent that this man and woman were the bad guys. I had a team of people around my age, late teens, behind me; a girl, a guy with short hair and somebody else. The docks themselves were long and made of stone, but did not extend into the sea very far, there was metal scaffholding and crates and barrels and tarpooling everywhere. I eventually either won, or the guy got away. The girl on our team told me that I had to get into thier lare, as it was strange that I should win (I obviously couldn't have.), and the short-haird guy (who was in a comms-van) agrees, so I am sent into the bad-people's lare. I walk along the dockside and down a slope into a tunnel which leads to the lare. Once inside I find that it's more like a maze of high-up platforms, walkways and gas pipes. I reach a bit where the walkways spiral down a massive shaft, of about 50m in diameter, and some kind of piping system leading down the righthand side. Instead of walking down the pathways, I shimmied down the pipe system. on my way down I reallised that the pipes were covered in spiders (not very nice :/) but I continued anyway. once at the bottom, it became evident that the floor was made of lava or something like that, which explains the heat I thought. At this point I stopped and looked around the walls. I started to notice that there were lots of skectchs pinned to the walls around the pipes (obviously somebody had been down here before), and these sketches were fan-mail or character-sketches of everyone I had seen in this dream. At this point the girl who had been talking to me earlier started talking to me again (she was either on the comms or had followed me, I can't remember). I told her what I could see and she said: "hhmm... but that just doesn't make any sense, what's so important about those?" I told her, rather scared now, that I thought that actually it seems like we were all inside some kind of webcomic, and this is what the creator has drawn/recieved. She started to cry and then everything went fuzzy.

I then woke up in real life (I think, although I'm pretty sure it was real life) to find that I still had my shirt on, which I struggled to take of, then put on the floor beside my bed. Shortly later I drifted into dreams focusing on why I had my shirt on and what if someone had come into my room or perhaps I was drunk, but no, that didn't make sense either because I don't drink. Well perhaps it's just hot. These thoughts swirled around as abstract dreams for what I presume to be about half an hour. At which point I wake up again to realise I still have my pants on (I sleep nude), so this was really quite strange for me. After that I drifted back to sleep.

[The next dream was weird, very weird.]
I was at my computer, playing MineCraft. When I reallise that there is an option I've never seen before; one to make 'structures' generate. I click it to see what happens, then the whole world starts to transform into an ice biome (for those who don't play minecraft, it's a randomly-generated cold area of the game, with hills and such). But this was a strange one, because there was a giant semi-opaqe black cubiod, in which these domes started to be built using leave-blocks, stone and spawning a golden apple in the center. Many of these spawned within the box, at may different sizes. By this time I was actually in the game (to be expected for a dream), and rand for cover as I thought that the generation engine had broken and was going to fill the entire area with stone and leave, so I went and hid under a pile of ice blocks, peering out to the world [apon looking back, I realise that here I may have actually died in the dream, but I din't realise]. I saw a penguin, and then it flashed forward to a later date. I was in a tunnel that was extremely long, but squre with twists; like a mineshaft. I was at the end of this and talking to my brother and step-father. It turns out that the reason for this shaft is to hose a very long set of instructions written on signs for someone to make something. It was some kind of robotic drilling apparatus with a buit in Artificial Intelligence. My brother says he needs something, so we go to the start of the mine (not sure how so quickly, that thing was *huge*). Apon ariving there everyone else goes about thier own buissness [here's where it starts going wierd]. I then go out of the main semi-circular igloo part (description: big, about 30m in diameter, animal-skin rug on the floor, stone furnace at one side, to entrance to cave at the back with a small washing area on the right of that (as if you were looking at it), with an entrance and hat-stand at the opposite side, which lead to a small corridor that ran around the front half of the main igloo with a door about 1m to the left of the main igloo's door that lead to the outside), and see that there are two penguins. That quickly turn into daleks. They're scared and ask me to keep them safe if they'll defend the igloo from the other daleks. This seems like a good idea to me. But looking around that the rest of my family in the igloo, I realsise that they are walking without using thier legs, so must be daleks in disguise. I look at the two dalek-penguins, that tell me to run. I turn and run down the corridoor to a small wooden-door, which I enter. After going throught the door I end up in a small wooden office, with a gas-lamp and meet an old-woman (a proffessor at a university, I think) leaning over some old-looking books. I ask her how she got here, she says to to me that it is I who got into her place, and continues to tell me that theis place makes no sense, and that I must run to get out. I thank her for her words and walk through another door in her office. This door brings me out on about floor 10 of a 50-story 1960s style office-block. I can't go up without entering certian rooms. I enter the first and inside is someone [around here my memory gets bad], how asks me questions and gets me to talk; I ultimatly leave with this peice of paper that is part of the puzzel, and move up a level. This repeats itself about 14 times. I then go to the next door, which I can see through the gap into before I go in. I see a teacher at a black-board and a helper at a desk to the right reading some sort of old books. I walk in and tell them (quite angrly) that I kow that thier going to ask me to answer questions or perform some kind of test to let me get whatever it was I needed to find. The woman (teacher) tells me I should know better than to shout at a teacher, at which point I loose it and tell her that actually, seeing as we're all dead (but this point I'd worked out I was dead and thought that these people were other ghosts) I died after her, and thus was in a time when education was better (her books looked like they were from the 1900s), so I was clever enough, and didn't need her test, then said: "so, where is it that I need?" A little boy of about 11 put his hand up and told me that I needed to take him upstairs. I walked over, took his hand and started walking to the door with him (he seemed happy). The two teachers just looked at me dissapointedly, asking me to take this test or I'd never understand the ways of this realm, when I refused they just looked sad. I eventually took this boy out of the class and back into the '60s sky-scraper. At which piont he said that I had completed the final challange and was free (or something like that, he seemed happy). I walked off and saw a door that I thought was the exit. I walked through it and out onto the street, where there were other people. It was at this point that a large grinder-support fell on me and killed me again. As I was drifting into darkness someone told me that I was dreaming. "darn." I thought, then woke up.
    9. Smoke Shop/ School supply store

      by , 03-30-2012 at 01:16 PM
The dream starts off on the outside of a store front. I was with my best friend Andrew Carder and he was trying to convince me to go into the smoke shop. I was being reluctant because I am not eighteen and I thought I saw my football coach in front of the store. Next thing I know I am in the shop, I don't even remember walking in. I was walking in the back of the store looking around and I see a section divided from the rest of the smoke shop by a wall. I look behind the wall and there are pipes made of hallowed out balls of glass. I turn around and face the last isle of that side of the store. There seems to be a good amount fog coming from that Isle. The next thing I remember is that I am walking in the front of the store and I see an isle that sells school supplies like computer ink and composition paper and stuff like that. I run into a group of dads with their sons and one of them asks me where the printer ink is. The other father sarcastically says "like he knows where it is". I pointed the first father to the ink isle and I told the sarcastic father "I guess I do know where the ink section is asshole. I then woke up.(That night I got 10 to 11 hours of sleep. I went to bed with a full stomach.)

    10. Catchup Post for April 10-16

by , 04-20-2011 at 10:14 PM (The Lab Notebook)
      Non-lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

WARNING: This entry contains potentially triggering adult content. Reader discretion is advised.

      Night of April 9-10

I'm walking through an outdoor shopping center somewhere. I'm wearing my white lab coat from work. [It's a costume, not a uniform. I teach in an after-school science enrichment program.] For some reason [that I can't remember now], somebody [possibly one of the handlers of the below-mentioned mascots] signs the end of my right sleeve with a green pen. I'm slightly concerned that my lab coat isn't perfectly white anymore.

A local baseball team mascot walks out of a dentist's office. He has a huge smile made of brilliantly white foam teeth. Seeing him again makes me smile and feel nostalgic, because I haven't seen him in such a long time. The mascot also has a Distaff Counterpart in a much less elaborate, striped, bodysock-like dinosaur costume. There are little kids coming up to and greeting both of them.

      Night of April 13-14

I'm watching Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. There's a scene in which Juliet's father, upon finding out what's going on with her and Romeo, rapes her. You can't really see anything, though, since they're both covered by a sheet. The theme song from the movie plays.

      Night of April 14-15

I'm at a big party at a house. It's sunset, or just after. The hosts of the party call all the guests to come outside onto the front lawn and sit in several shallow arcs, facing the hosts. I sit down in one of the arcs with a bunch of other party guests, all of whom are actors from various Star Trek TV series, and all of whom are in costume as their characters. The hosts get us started playing a game: We each have to think of the funniest, cleverest Star-Trek-themed pickup line we can, and then we have to take turns sharing them, going in order along the arcs. As my turn is approaching and others are sharing their pickup lines, I struggle to think of something really clever, but I can't. When my turn comes, I say, “Of all the souls I've encountered in my travels, yours is the most... hot.” It's definitely not as clever as most of the other pickup lines that people came up with. [None of which I can remember now, of course.]

      Night of April 15-16

I'm trying to fit two pieces of rod or pipe together and lock them in place using an interlocking mechanism that is built onto the pipes. They're very dirty and rusty. I discover that I've accidentally broken off one of the parts that are supposed to interlock, so it won't work right.
