    1. Racing

      by , 11-26-2013 at 11:39 AM
Dream fragment: I remember racing around an unfamiliar office and I was kind of sliding on air at high speed past some coworkers, but at one point I seemed to loose momentum in front of someone near a piano. I also remember something about going around the world, but that was more cartoony, like in a Wii game I have called Exerbeat, where going around the world is used to track one's progress. Some women said that they did not know one could go only partially around the world and did not need to do it all at once.

    2. Desert World Part 2 & 3

      by , 11-26-2013 at 10:53 AM
Back again to my desert planet. The second dream I had was very brief and it sort of carried over to my third dream so I'll add them both together.

Second dream: I appeared out in the middle of the desert. Dark golden sand dunes spread out as far as the eye could see. There was some sort of military operation going on. I found the entrance to a simple bunker, heading down beneath the surface. Some camo tents were pitched around it. I was following some soldiers. We hopped onto some ATVs and took off away from the main site. A dust storm started to pick up and the last thing I remember was riding through it.

Third dream: Again I was out on those dunes except this time there was a battle going on. There were actually groups of boulders scattered around the area so I ducked behind some of them to stay out of sight. It really was the most ridiculous thing. An army of midgets were fighting against Nazis. I was transported to another area with a group of women and children. The area we were in was more rocky. Light reddish dust stirred up underneath our feet. Rocks surrounded us, from pebbles to a small mountainous area of dark brown and black stone. It was my job to get the women and children to safety, away from the battle. One soldier had followed to help me. We ran. I was in the lead, he brought up the rear.

Out of my peripheral vision I saw some black shapes start to appear from behind the boulders we passed. We stopped and stared in horror as a group of dog-sized cockroaches started to scurry in our direction. The soldier bade me to take our group and run, saying he'd stay behind to try and buy us time. I didn't want to leave him, but I had no choice. The women and children came first. As we took off again I could hear his screams. I didn't have the courage to look behind me, knowing what I'd see.

I felt a sense of urgency niggle at the back of my mind. We were being followed again by something else. I ushered my group into a cave. It was dome-shaped inside, with ledges carved into the rock like shelves. We climbed as high as we were able and perched on them. No sooner had I ascended two velociraptors came running in. They hissed and tried jumping for the ledge I was on with another woman. We backed up as far as we could, just barely missing their snapping jaws. In the entrance to the cave I noticed a large shadow. As it traveled closer I'm sure my eyes widened comically as a huge Predator appeared, decked out in gear and weapons. With his combi-stick he quickly dispatched the two raptors and stood still waiting for the women, children, and I to climb down from our ledges. I knew he wasn't going to harm us. I walked up to the Predator and thanked him. I woke up after that.

I told this dream to a coworker, and apparently the females in her family had an uncanny knack for interpreting dreams. I was confused by it, until she pointed out some things. I can say that once the dream was interpreted I felt very vulnerable, as it alluded to my childhood. It was interesting to realize how obvious the symbols were. I suppose it's easier for someone else to see things you cannot.

Well, I should be doing h/w but I distracted myself. I suppose it would be best to actually get it done so I can get some sleep. Until next time.
    3. Flood and Ruin

      by , 11-26-2013 at 09:20 AM
      Jan. 21, 2003:
I've been studying that so much I dream about studying for it. I had a nightmare the other night that I was taking the Art History exam and they'd invented a brand new type of architecture that was on the test.

      Feb. 15, 2003:
I had this dream about a farm, only the farm was failing and everything... it was like everything was going to hell, and nothing was working out... all the the buildings around it, etc., were failing... and it worked like a sort of medieval manor and everything, well, we were under attack by enemies, to boot, and had to keep retreating, losing more and more land, and then there was a flood the destroyed all of the crops.

As for the family... there was the dad, who in the dream was 'my' father, and he was a real jackass, and he ran the farm/manor like a dictator, and then there was his younger brother, aka 'my' uncle, who was this little bald man with a deformed back, but he was very crafty, very shrewd, and knew a LOT more about what was going on than the guy supposedly in charge... and then there was 'my' sister, who was like drop-dead gorgeous and was marrying some nobleman... and then there was me. Boo, me. I found out that not only was I not getting ANY inheritance, 'my' dad was paying for her education but not for mine, and it made me insanely pissed off. That and I had fallen in love with some guy who was supposedly of a "lower" class than me and therefore 'my' dad was incredibly disappointed in me and thought I was a failure or something.
And, of course, there was a flood. And we got attacked, and buildings were abandoned, and the peasants starved and whatnot.
I guess this wasn't a very cheerful dream...

      ______________________
The scenario started out with me in an apartment, with my mom. It was a junky looking place, paint peeling off of walls.

I went outside, and checked the town out. It was a bright day, possibly the middle of the day.

Soon enough I got lost within the labyrinth of a place, and tried ot make my way back. The route I'd chosen to go back home took me through a run-down section of the town. Old houses, worn with age, plagued the area; It made me think that this was a boil on the town's face.

I tried to ask some people as ot where the apartment complex was but nobody was able to speak english; they all spoke in a language I'd never heard before. Puzzled, I make my way through the maze, and eventually find my way back.

Night had fallen the instant I stepped inside. And what was waiting inside, but a trusty dog. It was not a golden retriever, however - this one was a keshond. It greeted me, and I took a seat on the floor.

The dog layed across my lap, and I stroked its long, black fur. I eventually heard a knock on the door, and went over to answer it.

When I opened it, I walked into another dream.
      ______________________
I walked into a large house, it looking much cleaner and newer than the apartment. Stepping inside, I could smell the fresh country air leaking in from the windows.

I heard footsteps around the house soon after. Panicked, I swiftly made my way out of the complex, but not quick enough to see, out of the corner of my eye, a woman.

She was a medium, I knew that instantly - how, exactly, I could not figure out. In fact, I'm still perplexed as to how I knew such.

As I made my way down stone steps to the road, I hear from the back of me, "Do you know whos scizzors these are?"

Curiosity overtaking me, I look over my shoulder. Instantly, I felt a sucker punch to my emotons as I whisper every so quietly, "Oh my God."

The pair of safety scizzors belonged to a friend I had a long time ago - one of the only ones I'd had at the time. I'd moved away, and never heard from him again.

Warm tears began to streak down my face as I stare up at them. It was small, but I could clearly see the scizzors. She began hurriedly walking down the steps, saying somehting about the hospital, but my emotions had completely overtaken my body; I was frozen in place.

I shut my eyes to wipe the fluid away, and therein changed the scenario.
      ______________________
In that instant, I was inside of a van, which was pulling up to a flat house. I got out, and inspected the outside. My mission was clear: I was to plant a device in this persons' house without them knowing. It was their birthday, and we wanted to discreetly let him know we had a party planned.

I walk up to the house, and quietly open the front door. I dive for a counter, hiding behind it, as he'd come to inspect why the door was open.

I make my way to the east side of the house, going for a corner. I planted the device on a windowsill, being careful to balance it. It was a birthday timer, set to go off at 12:00 AM, which was approaching fast. It was going to shoot off tiny fireworks, set off sparklers, and so forth.

I make my way out of the house slyly, being sure to quietly shut the door. There were more people outside now, several cars litterred the frint yard. People waited outside, drinking some sort of alcoholic drink that was red at the bottom, and yellow on top. When offerred one, I turned it down.

We all began to count the seconds down. Ten, nine, eight, so on and so forth.

The device goes off, and we could hear tiny bangs echo from the house. It had worked.

We all flooded in through the door, and began to celebrate.

I soon woke up after being hugged and kissed on the cheek by the birthday kid.

    5. 20/11/13

      by , 11-25-2013 at 11:20 PM
Another dream that starts on a beach. This beach is rocky and has coarse sand. There's only a few meters between the sea and the face of a cliff. The weather is grey, it could start raining any second. To the far right is a large estuary.
I'm sitting on a rock at the foot of the cliff just looking out towards the sea, thinking. A small boat emerges from the estuary trailing a very long cable behind it. I watch it as it drags out a much larger boat. The larger boat is creating massive waves as it moves through the water. The smaller boat turns around so as to swing the larger boat around. The waves aren't subsiding like they would in real life, in fact as they hit the rocks they seem to just get larger. The small boat takes off towards the horizon and disappears with the larger boat now far behind.
The waves continue to grow, if I don't move soon I'm going to get stuck and subsequently drown. I wait for the opportune moment and sprint down the beach to a safer place.

The dream shifts a little bit. The waves have stopped. The cliff is gone. The beach is less rocky and wider, with shallow pools dotted around. It's started raining lightly though the sky is not as dark; occasional rays of sunlight making their way through the clouds.
Looking down I can see tiny spiders. If it wasn't for their shadows, which are somehow much larger than the spiders themselves, I wouldn't have even seen them. I'm in bare feet and paranoid that they will bite me I run. I have no clear direction in mind, just somewhere without spiders. It takes me several minutes to find somewhere.

I'm next to one of the shallow pools, there is a large, irregularly shaped boulder jutting out from the sand. There's someone else there. I think he's my friend. He hands me a bunch of small rocks and asks me to make a sculpture with them. I agree and get to work, using one of the harder, coarser rocks like sandpaper and filing down one of the others. I'm making a sculpture of a naked woman, but I keep screwing up, getting proportions wrong or something. So I have to keep making it smaller to fix it. By the time I'm done the sculpture is only a few centimeters in height. My friend's gone. The dream ends.

    6. Some time

      by , 11-25-2013 at 10:59 PM
The dream starts on a beach. The sea is a couple hundred meters to my left. To the right is an endless expanse of yellow sand.
There is two of me, younger me and older me. Younger me looks about 16, older me looks about 24. Somehow I am both of them at the same time.
We are running from an unknown enemy. Though I never saw them in the dream I think they're a bunch of black vans with people with guns in them.
We're running, and we come to a forest. The beach just instantly stops at the tree line and becomes densely populated with trees. The vans won't be able to go through there. [here the perspective shifts from both mes simultaneously to just the younger me] Older me pulls a gun out of nowhere. He tells me to go on ahead. I know what he's thinking, he's going to sacrifice himself to buy me more time. I am sad as I run into the forest. I look back and see older me standing, waiting for the enemy and the dream ends.

      Sunday 11.24.13

Last night, bed around midnight. 3rd night in a row meditating on bed before sleep. 3rd night nice, interesting dreams.

      DR
Going through a futuristic building with my futuristic rifle. It has a small screen, laser sights, and a few control buttons. I'm leading a group of people out of there.

I take up a position behind some concrete blocks, with my back to the wall. I take an aim at the distant door on top of short stairwell. We are expecting the enemy. The door opens and enemy soldiers in black, shiny uniforms walk cautiously inside. I see my gree laser dot and stream is on them, but my rifle had shot down. I fumble with the controls to turn it back on.

    8. Hugs

      by , 11-25-2013 at 10:36 PM
We were on a field trip and one of my friends that had traveled to America was there. (In the dream though he said that he just got back from Canada). All around me are some teachers but they are leaving. He gives me a hug and continues hugging me until i pull away and tell him we can't hug now. (In my school if you hug someone of the opposite sex you get suspension
) So he stops. When we go outside, we walk and we talk for a bit. After all the teachers leave i tell him that i have no problem hugging him and that the only reason i told him to stop hugging me is so i wouldn't get suspended. So he looks around to make sure that their aren't any teachers and then gives me a longer hug. We sit on a bench and we keep talking and one of my friends come up to us and sits with us and says "I know i'm being a third wheel" so i give her the get lost look and she still goes "I know this is awkward" and she makes no move to get up and she says "I can stay here for hours". Right now i'm proper pissed off at her and then i wake up in my dream. Then i don't remember what happened but then i woke up for real.
    9. I Just Want To Find The Bathroom

      by , 11-25-2013 at 10:21 PM
      Dream 1:
I am a member of some sort of death camp or something. This starts out as a run of the mill nightmare - I'm terrified of being executed. The people running the camp use some sort of liquid, rather than a gas, to execute prisoners - it soaks right through clothing, rubber boots, etc. (it doesn't matter) and kills you pretty much instantly. The chambers they keep/use this stuff in look like 1960s era technology. One of these chambers malfunctions, spilling the liquid all over the place - it kills a bunch of little kids who are walking single file through the hallway, but it also kills a lot of the officers who are leading/marching them along, as well as the ones operating the thing... as soon as they realize what's happening, they start trying to get away from the liquid creeping along the floor. I overcome my horror at the situation and decide to escape, but not before locking the heavy metal door behind me. Because f*** those guys.

I escape and it's some sort of heavily forested environment. I am half-dead when I encounter a band of orcs. They decide not to kill me. Eventually, I join their ranks, after a few rites of passage (I'm a dude in this dream). During all of this, there are some skirmishes over territory. One of their older (and more respected) members is old and ailing. Their way of dealing with situations like this is to hasten the warrior's death, rather than letting it drag out. With a great deal of ceremony, they build a pyre, and set him atop it wrapped in ceremonial robes. He's doused with some sort of flammable liquid and they set the whole thing on fire.
I get mortally wounded in one of the border skirmishes. It's a gut wound, which means I'm going to die slowly and horribly anyway. They wouldn't normally allow the honor to an outsider, but I've proven myself to the group over and over again, so I've earned the same honorable death. The dream ends with me climbing atop my own pyre and being set alight.

      Dream 2:

I dreamed that I was walking by a bus stop with my brother. The landscape was flat, more like the Midwest than where we currently live. A coworker of mine (T) was there waiting for the bus. My brother and I were going to a bar on a local riverboat (it was John's or Jack's or something). We invited her to come along, but she only had 11 minutes until the bus arrived, so she didn't have time to hang out at the bar with us. She'd been standing at the bus 76 stop, but realized that she needed the bus 71 stop around the corner, so she said she had to go.

My brother and I continued onto the boat. We saw that there was somehow an amusement park on it, and there was a spinning ride that was called The Eagle. We went up the steps to the park (the bar was below) and debated getting on the ride. While we were discussing it, the boat departed from the shore. I pointed out that none of the various rides had safety measures (like railings to prevent you from getting too close to the ride while it was in operation). M and I agreed that it was too unsafe, and decided to head down to the bar.

As we make the decision, the riverboat starts to tilt. Something's wrong, and the boat is starting to sink in the water. It hasn't fully sunk, and the staff is trying to calm everybody down, saying the situation is under control, even though it pretty clearly isn't. The bar starts evacuating their patrons to the upper deck, since the lower deck is getting perilously close to completely flooding.

The boat tilts even more, and water rushes across the deck. Somehow the whole thing turns completely upside down. My brother and I have moved close enough to the edge that as it gets submerged, we're able to avoid getting trapped underneath the boat. We hang on the edge of the capsized boat while I try to figure out if we can make it to shore by swimming, or if we should stick close to the submerged boat and hope that enough of it stays afloat that we can hang onto it. I decide that it's too far to shore, and any rescue operation is going to be looking for us here. I suggest to M that we stay with the boat.

      Dream 3:
I am at a museum. There is a huge (like 50 feet tall) tank of water. It's set up so that when you touch it or it comes in contact with a conductive object, lights and patterns flash through it. They drop a metal ladder into it and I'm worried that it's going to break the glass as it scrapes against the side. They're demonstrating the effects that it produces, but the effect right now is underwhelming - all of the lights and colors are inside a little box that a scuba diver in the tank is holding. I was expecting the whole tank to light up. I decide the whole thing is a waste.

      Dream 4:

For some reason, I have a collection of Barbie dolls and My Little Ponies. Some of the Barbies are themed (like one has tiny Sailor Moon costumes and there is a Darien doll). Another has a white dress, and I have a package of clothes with long white gloves and high heels, and am thinking about opening her and putting the gloves and heels on her.
I am organizing these toys. They are on what looks like a store rack, but they're mine. I want to play with them, but I realize I'm far too old for that, and that if I open them it might ruin any value they have to collectors.
I am going to play with one, but then my mother starts a fight with me, and when I come back to my Barbies, the mood is ruined. I get some ponies out, but they are only made of colorful stiff cardboard, so I'm disappointed. I toss them up into the air, and they rise higher and higher, and are picked up by a gust of wind, and disappear into the sky.

      Dream 5:
I am flying a kite. It's a very large kite. I am with a blonde girl with chin-length wavy hair, and she is watching me fly it. Rather than a string, the kite is attached to a bolt of fabric. It's difficult to hold onto the spool because the wind is so strong and the kite is so large.
The girl asks if she can fly the kite. I hand her the spool and she tosses it into the air. I get angry and say,"Why did you do that? Now I'll never get my kite back!". The spool bounces through the air across the field. I run after it and manage to grab it. The girl asks to fly it again, and promises she won't throw the spool again. I'm an idiot in this dream, so I tell her fine, she can fly the kite as long as she doesn't throw the spool. I hand her the spool, and she throws it again. I yell at her again.
I look in the direction of the kite, and there is a huge rainbow in the sky. It is so brilliant and intense that it looks solid. I want to take a photo of it, so I dig through the car (which is a subaru SUV) for a camera. I find what I think is my camera and turn it on, but when the shutter extends from the body of the camera, I realize it is not mine, but belongs to my friend. I frantically begin digging for my cheap little point-and-click. I find it, but it won't take a photo no matter what I do. I'm getting very frustrated because the rainbow is fading. I start trying to take a photo with my camera, but it doesn't work, and when I finally get a photo, the rainbow has faded to traces of red. I'm really disappointed, but a faceless friend (the one who owned the other camera) reassures me that he got a good photo of it, and he will share it with me once he gets it off his camera. I feel somewhat better.

      Dream 6:

I am in a rundown sort of house. There's a great-room that leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom, and above it is a closet, bathroom, and bedroom. I am staying here with my aunt, and have just arrived, but apparently my aunt is She-Ra.
I'm trying to find somewhere to put my coat away. There is a coat closet at the top of some rickety stairs. I shut myself in the closet because I want to be alone. After I eventually put my coat away, I begin to look for a bathroom. There is a bathroom in the downstairs bedroom, but it's IN the bedroom, and I'm really uncomfortable about this because there's no way to lock the door even though there are 50 different controls for the lights. I head upstairs where I know there's a bathroom. I wander through some bedrooms, but I can't seem to find the bathroom, even though I know it's there. For some reason I end up in the coat closet again. I hear some yelling and crashing, like someone is having a tantrum in one of the bedrooms next to the closet. Suddenly the wall collapses. I guess the Hulk is living there too, because he's peering through the crumbling wall and looks as confused as I am.
"What are you doing in there?"
"I just want to find the bathroom "

    11. Ghost Carnival

      by , 11-25-2013 at 10:18 PM
Original journal entry dated Sept. 10, 2002:

First part is unrelated to the second, they just kinda faded into each other - I was with my family, only it was with my uncle I's extended family. My brother was there, but in the dream he was a little sister instead of a little brother. I dreamt we needed gas, but first we stopped at this one restaurant, and there were lots of badgers inside, and I talked to a waitress who was a friend of my mom's, she was complaining about her hours. Then I went with my family, we needed to get gas, for some reason they were filling up cereal boxes with it and carting them around, I told them this was really really stupid and they told me to either shut up or walk, so I got out of the car and started screaming at them and threw my box away, and made my brother/sister get out too. Then their car blew up. And Melissa Etheridge, in the guise of Alice from The Brady Bunch, came and saved everybody and gave my brother and I a ride home in her truck.

Ok, it's funny when I write it down, but in the dream I was very, very angry and upset and screaming at the top of my lungs. I hope I wasn't yelling in my sleep again.

There was a vaguer dream slightly beforehand but I don't know if it belongs with the one I'm about to describe. It was... sky-rides. You know, like the buckets that go along those lines, between the poles, and people sit in them... sort of... yeah, me and mom and my aunt and uncle were riding those, I think it was on the way to the tour... they were almost like a monorail but hung upside down on the line and they were open to the air.

Then the nightmare, less angry and family-oriented and far more creepy. I had a dream that mom and her friend, for whatever stupid reason they had, decided to go on this one tour with my uncle K and aunt L. It was through something called "The Basement", a really big haunted region, and it was supposed to be this awesome, scary tour, with the catch that all of the haunted stuff was real. Actually, "The Basement" was only a section of the total area, there were other places with names like "The Attic" and stuff, but I forgot the names, and they were pretty minor areas compared to The Basement anyway (it was the biggie). So we got split up from aunt and uncle and lost our tour group, and it was all grey and misty and totally deserted, and I was scared shitless. Mom told me that she went on the tour a long, long time ago with my dad and she didn't see any ghosts, really, except for one that bit her on the top of the head, except that was at the Carnival, which was a ways off. Lori Beth only seemed mildly disappointed that we hadn't seen anything so far. I was wishing that I could magically and instantly teleport right out of the place, since I was terrified and I hadn't even actually SEEN anything. Mom told me that if I got really scared I could go and find my uncle, since he was some sort of weird anti-ghost void type person (i.e. could repel ghosts). We were getting closer to this one old house type place and my mother's friend was debating whether or not we should go inside. I personally didn't want to go anywhere, much less any place that looked that ominous. It wasn't the usual Victorian mansion, more like an old farmhouse but a very large one that a richer family would own (like a plantation house only not so, you know, Southern or elaborate).

Then I woke up absolutely terrified
    12. 1st Normal dream recall

      by , 11-25-2013 at 08:23 PM
Had a dream, but I was not lucid.

Woke up, took me a minute to recall that I had had one. As soon as i realized I had had one, I tried to calmly lie back and focus on it.

Between waking up and realizing the fact that I had had a dream, I had turned in bed, I could re-think the end of it, but I didnt move back to my origina position and I wonder if that effected my recall, as I constantly felt pressure on my left side of the face, as I slept chest downward, face burrowd in the pillow, 45 degree facing my right side.

UUUggghhhh. I was dreaming last night that I had to answer help desk tickets about the Christmas lights that I just put up in the front yard. I had to troubleshoot them because they weren't working. It was terrible! I kept waking up all night about it and I couldn't just tell myself to stop thinking about it because there's nothing wrong with the lights.

I woke up after every single sleep cycle last night. I don't think I've ever written so much in one night before

      Salmon patties
I'm in the house somewhere. I ask my second daughter if she wants a salmon patty; she says she does. Belatedly, I realize I should ask the other kids if they want one too. I ask my oldest daughter, and she wants one; my youngest daughter isn't around, and I come up with an excuse not to find her and offer her one. My son doesn't cross my mind. Now I'm in the kitchen (one I'm not familiar with - I think it must be a vacation house).I'm using the portable burner + skillet (I dreamed about this a few days ago, too). The first patty has been on for a few minutes and is about ready to flip. I realize that I could have put the second patty on at the same time (the pan is big enough) and saved a few minutes. I go to grab the second patty and put it on. I'll have to pay more attention to them, but at least they'll be done faster.

When I go to add the second patty, I see that the whole burner + skillet is in a giant clear plastic bag. I hope the bag so close to the skillet that it melts; but getting closer, I see that it's touching the edge of the skillet and has melted onto it. I try to peel it away without making too much mess, but I'm finding that's not possible. Worse, I find the bag was full of packages of ground beef. Worse yet, a couple of the packages were laying between the patties and the skillet, so I was cooking the ground beef instead of my patties. I hope that, since they're in Styrofoam packaging (the usual yellow trays) they weren't cooked too much, just thawed a little. I grab all the packages (there's a bunch) and go to put them back in the freezer. There's a whole pile of plastic debris covered in raw meat juice - what a mess. I want to clean it up before my wife sees it.

      Baby monitors
I'm looking at baby monitors. I'm currently looking at one that does regular checks on the baby's vitals, makes sure it's still breathing, etc. If something's wrong it doesn't wait for <something> - it notifies you right away. You can wear an earpiece that delivers all this information to you in real time, or you can use optional accessories to set off alarms in case of trouble. There's a picture of one such external alarm: on the wall, I see an hand with a mechanical thumb positioned next to a button sticking out of a bell-style alarm. When something is wrong, the thumb pushes the button and sets off the alarm. If you don't like bell alarms, they also provide electronic ones.

      Electronics reality TV
I see a couple of guys driving in a car along a winding mountain road, talking about Tech. They're talking about a competition they're in, something related to electronics. The whole thing is done in superhero motifs, with the professors being the superheroes or supervillains and the students being their apprentices / minions. They spend a while describing each professor, his name, his skills, and his personality.

Now I'm in a room with one of the superheroes and his apprentices. I'm there because one of his students got sick and I'm the replacement. It seems this is some kind of reality TV show where the losing hero gets one of his students voted off each week. The hero I'm with hasn't been doing so well. It's week five, and it looks like another of his students is on the way out. Also, this is the first week that personal performance affects the voting ratios, so the voting is going to be even worse than usual. There are a bunch of papers in the student's personal area describing the process and how his own failures had contributed. A girl nearby is tearing up - she doesn't want to be voted off.

Oddly, the professor doesn't realize I'm a replacement - he thinks I'm the original. He's talking to me about how "I" have plenty of skill but don't apply myself. He's trying to get his point across clearly without seeming to be personally attacking, but he's being very roundabout. I finally tell him that I'm not his student but a stand-in. Now he's showing me some of the work done by the other student. Right now, he's showing me a thing that's supposed to dampen vibrations. It's a wooden box with an articulated lever and a switch. When he first shows it to me, I assume it's one of those silly toys that flips its switch off any time you turn it on. He turns it on and a metal paddle swings around, touches the box it's mounted in, and vibrates very weakly. It's pretty pathetic. He shows me another mode of operation in which the paddle goes between the two D-cell batteries that power it; it looks like it's trying to split the D-cells apart. This worries me - batteries aren't something to handle roughly - and I look more closely. They're not even in battery holders, just attached straight to the board - glue, maybe, or solder? I see a couple of other things attached directly to the batteries, and it looks like he may have even drilled into them. I ask the professor about it, and he tells me it's fine.

      Destroying a room
Three guys are in a student's room, preparing to destroy it. One of them is crazy - he's really enjoying himself, and to motivate the others he has a bomb strapped to his own chest with a thirty-five minute countdown visible on a huge blue 7-segment counter. The others are working as fast as they can to be finished and away from the first guy. The first guy is going around the room sticking small explosives on just about everything. The second guy is following behind adding wireless blasting caps. The third guy is checking their work.

On one wall, the explosives guy has attached clear containers of glowing pink liquid. The blasting cap guy is putting a second container of the liquid above the first. This second container has a pouring spout and a heating element. One of the units near the end of the wall is having problems and is pouring early. Most of its pink liquid has poured out and into the bottom container; I wonder if this will make it explode prematurely, but the guy isn't concerned, so I assume there must be some other detonation mechanism.

Now the three guys are leaving the apartment. It was the corner apartment on a long single-story building. They're expecting the school administration to be waiting for them and are surprised when no one is there. One of the opens the door, reaches inside, and locks it. They figure locking the door will make pursuit a few minutes slower.

Now my wife and I are getting into our nearby van. It's been backed into its space, so everything feels backwards. We're getting confused about whose side is which.

Something about driving into a bank's drive-through, except it's down a ramp to an underground room.

      Fukushima infiltration
I' m walking with someone in a huge plaza dominated by a huge fountain. The fountain's pool is shallow - its walls are a foot or two high - and rectangular. In the middle is a pillar with a giant ball at the top. Everything is gleaming white. Every so often, water starts shooting up out of the pillar, raising the ball even higher into the air. After a few moments, the water pressure goes down and the ball comes back down to rest on the pillar. I point out the sight to my companion, and we keep walking around the pool, on our way to somewhere. The next time it happens, we get splashed by a little of the water. I mention that it's Fukushima water that's been treated and cleaned; it's a PR stunt to show how safe everything is. My companion becomes furious - he doesn't trust them at all - and storms down some nearby steps leading into some kind of administration building. We're having trouble getting inside, because there's a whole crowd of people leaving. We have to force our way against the tide to get inside.

Now we're inside, in a small waiting area. I'm sitting in an overstuffed chair; my companion is standing at a counter, talking to someone over a phone (like in a prison visitation area). He mentions a name; immediately, an executive is walking down the hallway, yelling to the lady on the phone that the name my companion mentioned is the top name on the list of "if they ask about this, direct them to management." It seems my companion gave a different name on the form when he was filling out the reason for his visit, so his real question caught them by surprise.

Now the people are gone, and he's taking the phone apart. He thinks there's something in the phone's guts, maybe a small slip of paper containing the secret they don't want anyone to find.

Now I'm watching a group of guys going through a fridge that's full of platters of party food. A lot of it looks really good, and it's making me hungry. There isn't nearly enough to drink relative to how much food there is; that's suspicious. I get distracted by a random thought about fridge organization, about how silly it would be to organize the food by <something>. If you do it that way, then it might make it easier to add stuff to the fridge, but it would significantly increase the retrieval time, so it wouldn't be worth it. Back to the fridge hunt, the guy poking through the fridge is looking for keyholes. There's a strange sense of deja-vu, that he's done this before and found a keyhole, but he's having trouble finding one now. He finally finds a tiny one at the bottom of the door; but since he doesn't have a key, there's nothing he can do with it. He goes back to looking through the fridge for anything out of the ordinary and finally comes across a beer bottle with something in it. Triumphant, be pulls it out, thinking it's what they've been looking for; but once it's out in the light, he realizes that what he sees inside is a stick of dynamite. He quickly puts it back in the fridge, and the group heads back down the hallway.

Elsewhere in the facility, I'm holding a beer bottle with something in it. I'm in the corner of a rec room; there's a toilet here. To be less suspicious, I decide to use it. Unfortunately, there's no stall, so I pull an easy chair over in front of me to try to be a little more modest - without the big chair there, anyone in the room can look at me. Thus protected by the chair, I try to get the thing in the bottle out. I end up pouring out some of the beer into a trash can. I think about tearing the label off, but I decide that would be more suspicious than leaving it on. It's a Sierra Nevada of some sort with a diamond label on the front of the bottle.

      Free produce
I'm driving, stuck in a long line of cars. I see that up ahead there's a table where people are giving out bags of fresh produce, but only to people who walk up to the table. People are pulling out of line, walking up to the table to get their bag, then getting back in their cars and getting back in line. I consider doing this myself, but I don't care that much, and I hate trying to force my car's way into a traffic jam. Now I'm past the table, walking. I see my in-laws carrying a funny plastic container into which they've transferred their produce; they seem pleased with it. I see another lady from the church with her own container; she's also pleased. I have a moment of regret that I didn't get some myself, but I still don't really care.

      Biking invitation
I'm at my computer in the office. A friend IMs me an invitation to go biking with him and some friends. There's a bike path that goes along a beachfront, and it's "not too far" away. I pull it up on Google Maps. The path is unusual: there's what looks like a narrow, short river with a narrow beach on one side. The bike trail runs right next to this beach, occasionally passing through threes. The trail isn't just a straight line or a loop; it goes back and forth through the trees, often crossing itself . I'm still not sure where it is in relation to me, so I try to zoom out. Zooming out is going really really slowly, and there's no marker on the bike path to indicate where it is. I finally manage to roughly figure it out; it's on the east side of the city, 81 miles away. I have to turn him down; that's just too far to drive, since there are other nicer trails that are only 45 minutes away. This trail looks really short; we'd be going back and forth if we were there for any length of time.

      Friends
I'm driving behind a house. It has a nice, green lawn surrounded by a "fence" of small pines. I turn left after passing the house. On my right, I see some friends walking up a driveway. Now I'm with them in the garage. Jeff, Seth, and Ben are there, along with a lawn mower. Ben is far too nicely dressed to be mowing lawns. Jeff is dressed in working clothes, but he needs to be leaving soon. Seth is drinking a beer. Off to the side of the room, I see a fridge with a glass door - Jeff's beer fridge. Looking inside, I'm surprised to see that it's almost empty. That's not like Jeff at all. Jeff says that something's come up and he won't have to leave as quickly as he thought he would.

      Dream recall from today's WBTB/naps.

      Dream 1(fragments):

There was some story, main character was talking to some weird characters, including deformed portrait, and then went on some quest. He was carrying a glowing weapon and started exploring some pyramid shaped crypts and a small dragon was following him around.

      Dream 2:

I was watching someone streaming space rangers 2 and there were some weird quests for getting items. Player had to combine some items from various planets, gotten via trade, to get quest items. One of compinations was bathroom + water, and it made soap(so random). Also there was some draconic race in game that player talked with a couple of times.
Then i wake up and try to DEILD, but with no result, but then as i get off the bed
i feel that i am dreaming but it fades out quickly.(I am actually not sure if i actually woke up or if it was FA from the start)

      Dream 3(fragment):

      Was watching some videos.
