    1. Fail Prank

      by , 06-14-2010 at 01:01 AM (Zukin's Dream Journal! <3)
A stoner decided to get back at the school. He decided to strap guns onto the feet of every drug dealer in school. He put a gun on my foot. I was deeply offended. Everyone was in panic because all of the drug dealers had guns! I was able to get the gun off of my foot, and hide with my peers. Our 3rd hour class was hiding in the surrounding bathrooms. I joined them, and noticed that T was there. I asked him what he was doing in the girls bathroom. I heard gunfire from the halls, and one of the girls clung to him. Ugh.

We eventually made it back to our classroom and our chemistry teacher decided to put on a movie about the chemistry of fires. I looked at his TV and noticed his TV was on fire too!

"Your TV is on fire!" I shout.

He looks at me for a second and says, "Oh no, it's always like that."
    2. Bass Comic Fragment and Car Fire Fragment

by , 06-13-2010 at 04:20 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. I'm reading a comic targeted at bass players, in some world where music is much more prevalent than it is here. Tabs are printed in comics like the one I'm reading, and the lessons show different famous groups' interpretations of the same song (Thelonious Monk's ensemble, as an example). The other page of the comic has parody scenes of real world comics, including a Peanuts parody in which Snoopy is preparing for anal sex. There are words printed, so I fail that reality check chance.

      2. I see, in sequence, two car accidents. The first is horrible and flaming, but the only other spectators are a car of punk kids wearing sunglasses at night. They deem the chaos "awesome," and their dad, driving in the front seat, cries behind his own sunglasses. Secondly, I come across another flaming crash. This time, I go to help, but the passengers (all women) are unhurt and manage to walk out easily, disdaining my efforts to help.

      Different Tests:
I started this dream out as lucid, unfortunately, I can’t remember how I became lucid. I think I was in some fantasy land, just have that feeling because I can’t exactly remember the land, etc…. but I decided that I wanted to fly. At this time, it was dark and I had a friend nearby, so, I told them to look up at the sky. I could see the moon in a crescent shape and it was rising up pretty rapidly into the sky. At this point, I decided that I wanted to see the sun so that when I fly, I can see the landscape and just didn't like the dark in general. Suddenly, rays of yellow sunlight penetrated the air from behind us. It was kinda odd having the sun and the moon at the same time but I never turned around to see the sun itself, just saw the rays. I think I got distracted a bit, because, I ended up deciding to try some elemental attacks. There was a metallic cube with a circle in it that was floating infront of it which I decided to try some attacks on. I started with electricity and I pointed my finger at the cube. It didn’t work at first but then I said “this is my dream” and tried again. I could seem blue sparks come out at the end of my finger. Since I was mostly interested in seeing it work, I was satisfied and decided to try fire next. Again, my fingers were pointed at the cube and the circle and it’s surroundings were engulfed by the flames. Finally, I tried to freeze it and it froze, since, I could see the ice, bubbles in it, reflections, etc…. I wanted to get somewhere and wanted to teleport but decided again it in fears of the dream ending, since, I lost my lucidity in my last LD, so, I decided to fly.

I decided to try and float at first, so, I sat in the lotus position and concentrated hard and could feel a strange tickling sensation in my feet but nothing happened. Then I decided to go buy a flying pill. I went to some large store, but, don’t remember how I got there. I didn’t have any money, so, I picked up what looked like a penny sized object from a nearby slot. When the previous customer left, I walked beside them and somehow acquired 2 coins which looked slightly bigger than my penny. Funny enough, I think the cash opened on my side since I remember walking and it just came out and hit me, so, I put it in. I asked the guy(I think it was him) on the counter about flying pills and if they had them and he said that they ran out. He was also wearing a blue uniform similar to walmart but it was only the top portion and no writing on it. I was suspicious and felt like he was hiding them from me, so, I went to the next counter which was conveniently placed around a corner. Between the two counters, there was some shelves behind some glass which had purchasable items on it such as food, etc…. I looked back at the first counter to make sure that he wasn't looking this way since he was doing some something at the back and then looked at her. I think she was wearing glasses but that’s all I can recall. I asked her for some flying pills but she also said that they ran out(must be really famous pills). I started to ask if any of their other stores have some and pointed at another store which was in the same plaza across from us. I think she mentioned that it was also sold out as well, so, I asked if any other stores had some, but, before she could answer, I told her that I’ll look around. I returned home and I recall just walking from the store as if it was near my house(I think it was across from it).

I was a bit disappointed but noticed a black guy who was wearing a grey t-shirt in his early 20s follow me. I knew him in the dream and I think he was one of my roommates. Anyways, I walked back home and went upstairs. The walls were colored light purple which interesting enough looked nice and just seemed to fit. The stairway was on the narrow side and seemed a bit cramped but would fit two people easily. After walking upstairs, I decided to walk back down and meet him on the stairs since I knew what he had with him(call it dream psychic). He told me about the flying pill and gave me two things, a pouch(I think it was that, can’t exactly remember what it was) and a sleeping pill which looked like a small pill which had a grey metallic color and had two wings on each side. I thanked him a lot and got the feeling he didn’t want me to lose my mind(what a great DC, lol). I went outside and ended up doing something first(distracted again I guess) but I lost the pill and started to look around for it in the grass. I couldn’t find it and was disappointed yet again. At this point, I remembered that I didn’t need the pill, so, I went back inside my house to create some wings. I sat down, possibly on a box in the dark and concentrated on imagining them and how I would look with them on as well as possible. The wings were to be large, grey, similar to what I’ve always seen wings appear like in movies, anime, etc…. After a while, my shoulder area felt a bit strange as if something was growing and then I started to feel like there was a good amount of pressure there and that I needed to do some pushing of my own. I was thinking of looking into a mirror after they were fully grown but never got the chance.

Thoughts: Well, my third LD and I was definitely more conscious than my second one, can't really compare to first since that was too long ago. This LD was soooo long, even within the LD, I remarked to myself "This LD is really long, I don't think I'll remember it all" and I was right. It took a good amount of time to recall and piece together the different events and I got distracted a couple of times, kinda makes sense since I've been reading about people being distracted from their specific goals. I think this occurred in my 4th or 5th REM cycle, thus, the length

    4. School Trip To A Mansion

      by , 06-10-2010 at 09:32 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
      Black=Awake Blue=Lucid Red=Dream

Location: A mansion and its courtyard

I was on what was aparently a school band trip to what appeared to be a very larged mansion. The dream started with us in the lobby and my band director, Mr. Bird, was giving a talk about alcohol and how we are going to get in so much trouble if we bring any on to the trip. I started to freak out since I thought I had half a bottle of liquor in a little plastic water bottle in my bag which I was apparently wearing. I then "remembered" a dream I had about filling a plastic bottle half-full of liquor and then dumping it out in the sink since I didn't want to get in trouble, so I relaxed a bit. (Now my mind is making up memories of dreams I had while in a dream? My mind confuses me sometimes )

We started walking towards what was a large dining hall filled with a very long table which looked like it could hold 100 people. It was only me and about 10 other people whom I thought I knew at the table though. We had skipped dinner and decided to get up and go see our rooms. In order to get there we had to go up a ladder through a very small square hole in the ceiling. Once we squeezed through we were in another floor of the mansion and when we were walking away I could clearly make out the dark hole I had just came from.

We came to our room after a few minutes of walking and I unlocked the door with a key I had found in my pocket. When I walked in I noticed a large couch to my right and two lavishly decorated beds to my left. I continued to go past the doorway to the room with the bads and walked into the kitchen. There was a stove, a sink, and 2 open counter spaces. When I turned around I was looking where the couch had just been which had transformed into another lavishly decorated bed with my friend sleeping in it. Not wanting to wake him I decided to go outside and get some fresh air.

Once I walked out my room door I was outside of the mansion standing in front. It seems that my habit I had been making of doing a RC every time i walked out a door paid off, because I plugged my nose and
became lucid. Just to make sure I was lucid I did it again and, sure enough, I could breathe. I was getting too excited, because the second I became lucid, I could feel my dream body and my real body at the same time. It was as if I was still standing there in the dream world, but I could see through my eyes of the real world and feel my blankets on my bed. Through my dream eyes I could seethat my dream body had started walking towards the back of the mansion, while my view of my dream body was looking at my mirror in my room seeing a reflecion of myself in the real world.

I quickly thought to spin to stay in the dream world. I hoped that is was my dream body that started spinning and not my real body, and luckily it was. I was back in my dream world 100% aware and lucid. I continued to rub my hands to stabalize the dream a bit more, and just for some extra protection, I walked to the backyard instead of trying to teleport, something I've wanted to do. I remembered that what I thought was my most important dream, goal to me was to master the four elements. Seeing that I had already practiced with fire in a pevious lucid,
(Burn Zomebie, Burn!) and was pretty decent at it I decided to try and "master" it, so-to-speak. I continued to practice moves I had seen in a T.V. show I had been watching, and did flips and complicated twists while controlling the fire and maintaining a balanced stance all at the same time. I had succeeded at this and decided to try and make a wall of flame as high and as big as I could. I looked towards the open field behind me, and focused all my energy into a small wall of fire maybe 2 feet high and 5 feet wide and pushed it out through the forest.

Before I knew it, the wall had grown so big, that I could not see the end, nor the top of it! I pushed with all my might, and the wall pushed back, as if it was made of bricks. But hey, this is my dream. I can to whatever I want. So I really focused hard, and managed to push the wall of fire acress the plain with a single move. I watched as it disappeared into the countryside when a small, crumpled piece of green paper hit me in the head. I turned around and saw an elderly man trying to teach a small teenager something.

"Remember, no matter what changes, 1 through 4 remains the same," he told the kid. I looked at the paper, and noticed it was like tin foil. "Excuse me young man, could you give me back my emerald?" I looked back at the paper, and noticed it had turned rock hard, and looked just like a large emerald. I threw it back to the man and he thanked me. "See, that's what you have to do," he told the kid. I started to walk away, and right as I turned around,
      I woke up.

My body lifts into the air as the elevator plunges into a free-fall. Alright, don't panic. I can control the speed of my decent via Flight.

Oh, right, that means I'm dreaming. So, enacting my plan, I Fly down in tandem with the elevator. Unfortunately, the pull of gravity turns out to be a little too strong, and now I have less than a second to right myself before the inevitable impact. Luckily, I pull it off, and my feet and legs take the full brunt of of the blow.

Prying open the elevator door, I walk out into the lobby. High profile contractors are still streaming in through the sliding-glass doors. What was my goal for tonight again? Pyrokinesis, wasn't it? Yeah, that sounds about right.

My plans set, I raise my hands to either side of me. Then, pulling from my Heroes archetypes, I create a good sized orange flame in each one and begin to light the room ablaze. Jettisons of fire expelled from my palms and caught on the walls and ceiling. The DCs didn't really seem to notice.

After the room was burning sufficiently, I felt the need for higher levels of destruction. Waving my arms around as if I were Fire Bending, I manage to increase the size and strength of the fire on one wall. Heading over to it, I bask in the heat of my creation. I say something along the lines of, "It is not the fire that warms me, it is I who warms the fire." Then, I take a bite out of a nearby sandal. It was delicious.

Placing the last bit of childhood memorabilia on the metal shelf, my assignment complete, I walked away fearing the worst. If the rumors were true, then the very essence of my childhood would soon be set ablaze by my platoon's sergeant. As the last of us finished up neatly arranging their most cherished possessions, the sergeant pulled out his flask of whiskey and began drenching the rows of precious memories with alcohol. When it ran out, he whipped out a lighter, lit it, and dropped it onto a nearby rack. A hot inferno shot up viciously and began to spread, consuming everything in its path.

My fellow soldiers passively watched the blaze, but I wasn't going to have it. "Those Pokemon cards are worth money gorrammit!" With that, a commotion ensued. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to my cards through the throng of moving people and the fire, so I did the next best thing: pull them to me with TK. Reaching out my hand, I focused on the boxes of cards, trying to bring them to me. But it isn't until someone knocked into the shelf that I was able to free them from the fire, unscathed, using only the power of my mind.

"Private! What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

"Saving money!" I shouted back, disrespectfully.

I ran off as everyone left the large, curved, window-lined, modern building. I'll show them. I'll meet them at the rendezvous point whether they like it or not.

Exiting from the entrance, my view split off and I saw everyone else had already left in a small yacht. I took to to the air. My flight controls were slightly awkward, but I couldn't help thinking how impressed everyone would be once they saw I could fly.

Making my way to the cylindrical tech station in the middle of the lake, I flexed my flight skills, showing off to no one in particular. When I did eventually reach the station, the sergeant proved speechless when confronted with my newfound abilities. Unfortunately, I screw it all up when I get too close to the water, hit it, and am unable to get back out.

      "Do you hear that?"

      THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

The two men before me looked at each other, nodded, and began tearing away the old mansion wall. The sickly green wallpaper tore away easily enough. In fact, even the steel-lined vault-like wall was able to be pulled away, layer by layer, by these men who probably had some kind of super strength going on.

Once the last layer was pulled away, a faint sigh echoed slowly through the room. There, in the wall, amidst all the wooden studs and shredded insulation, lay a body. This girl had been contorted and stuffed into the walls long ago. And yet, while she was no longer alive, neither was she fully deceased. In a sickeningly quick motion this remnant of past transgressions twisted, pulled, and tore its way out of the wall. She was headed straight at me.

Mouth hung open, black wet hair strung about her face, and eyes as black as the darkest pits of hell, she lunged at me. Aghast, I take a step backwards, rationalizing the situation as I do. "It's okay," I tell the DCs around me, "She just wanted someone to know she was here." Obviously, this statement was more to help me than the lifeless characters about me, but it did its job. Smiling at the creature inches from my face, still uneasy, I turn away to rejoin the house party.

Time passes, and I find myself on a couch. For some reason, I turn around to see what's going on in the living space behind me. Many people I don't know are hanging out around a table, drinking, laughing, and socializing.

A bright flash pulsates through the room.

Suddenly, everyone around me had transformed into demonic monsters. Fire roared around them and licked the walls of the once pristine house. Everything was charred black and the red glow of the flames shone menacingly off the wide serrated tooth lined jaws of the patrons before me. In unison, they all turned toward me. Verily freaked the fuck out, I duck my head out of sight behind the couch. Still lucid, I do my best to recreate the flash that enabled this shift of perspective. Sure enough, a white light shoots through the room.

      Everything was back to normal.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

The following excerpt comes from an hour+ long LD.

      Is that. . ? A Mew?

"Mew!" the pink Pokemon coos as it floats about in the air before me. It's stylized, exactly as it would be in the anime or a drawing. It seems like it wants me to follow it. Sure enough, it starts zipping away through the brightly, and naturally, lit building motioning for me with its tail.

I take off at a run, but it just isn't fast enough. Fly gets toggled on, but I'm still only barely able to keep up as it darts over and around various beams and corners. Before long, I lose track of it. Not giving up, I go the direction I think it went, which leads me outside to. . . my court?

There's the Mew, hovering high above my driveway. Dropping to the ground, I follow it to the street in the middle of the culdesac. The cloudless blue sky shone brightly and clearly, and to my surprise many more small airborne Pokemon scattered the sky around my neighborhood. I felt oddly at peace.

The Mew, still in the air, motions to the street below. Particularly, it motions to a strange portal. The portal looks almost like an old oil spill: A shiny, dark, blue, film-like, center with moving wavy gold loops along the outside. The whole thing is sparking visible bolts of electricity all around the inside. I couldn't make out what was on the other side. I didn't know what the Mew wanted me to do. I figure jumping through it wouldn't hurt. Maybe someone I know will be on the other side? I take the plunge.

The oddest feeling rushes over me as I quickly slide into the opening. I don't have time to savor it as I'm spat out into a brand new world that is. . . also my court? Weird. Weirder still is the blood red, black streaked, sky above me. It is unsettling. I don't have time to take that in either, because before I know it some humanoid creatures start to approach me. They look mostly human, but their features are augmented by spiky jaws, white bony skin, and claw like fingers. At least they're wearing clothes.

"Git 'im." One of them says to the other. It try to pull out my Katana, but they're on me too fast. One gets my arms into a lock behind my head, while the other subdues my feet. Things are looking really bad. What the hell was I supposed to do now?

Fire! Instinct takes over and large jets of molten hot fire shoot out of the ground around me in an large Area of Effect. This feat startles the creatures into loosening their grip on me. Instead of simply breaking free, however, I take control of the very earth itself, forcing huge jagged spikes to jut out of the ground. The creatures are killed instantaneously. Their bodies and clothes are rent to shreds, freeing me from their grasps.

I think I'm free and clear, but almost right away I see there are more of them coming for me. One of them has a really long Katana. I reach down to my side and quickly pull out my sword. It's not nearly long enough. Before I can use a finger trick to extend it the guy with the Katana attacks me. It's all I can do to block it in time.

The others start to surround me. There's around five or six of them, all with similar features to the last two guys. They're grinning widely, some of them let out a sinister chuckle. I'm freaking out. I keep my stance, but back up as to not let any of them behind me. An almost paralyzing fear and worry gripped me. What had I gotten myself into? Everything was so nice and peaceful before. . .

Regardless, I had a battle to fight. I strike out at the guy with the Katana. My cut only goes skin deep. He looks down at it and laughs maniacally, mockingly, violently swatting my blade out of his skin with his own. He swings at me again. I block, backing up even further, now entering my garage. I perform a quick volley of assaults, faster than the average eye could follow. All of them hit their mark, but again, all of them only pierce the topmost layer of skin.

I was getting nervous. It had to be my blade. I needed a new one. How about his? Instinctively, I pull on all my archetypes that involve severing limbs. I ended up focusing on the Monty Python and The Holy Grail scene in which King Arthur fights the Black Knight. I swat down at his arm sloppily, I don't need to actually cut it. Sure enough, his arm plops off nice and cleanly.

Their smiles turn to displeased grimaces as I grab the long blade from the air before gravity could take hold of it, throwing my old one to the side. "What the hell?" the now armless creature bellows. I proceed to quickly sever the right arms of all the creatures in the same manner, lightly and sloppily 'pushing' on their shoulder socket with the tip of my new sword. "Aww, that's just fucking idiotic," says the guy who had previously owned the Katana.

Suddenly, they all look out to the distance. What's going on? Is something happening out there? The same one speaks again: "You all go and take care of it. This kid ain't got nothin'. I'll deal with him myself." He regenerates his arm and sword as the others take off into the darkness outside. I'm still slowly backing up, on my garage stairs now.

My opponent gives me a smirk. Sensing my continued fear. We're at the top of the stairs. He rushes at me, I quickly open the door and step to the left, parrying as I did so. Before he could recover, I whipped myself and my Katana around severing his blade arm in a downward thrust. I follow that up with a swift kick to his side, knocking him clumsily into the house. Before he can come back out, I sever his other arm and close the door on him. I focus on the lock and do something to it so it can't be opened from the inside.

After a moment of waiting, I realize I'm home free. I discard my blade and head out to the street. What was this place? Could Raven be here by chance. . ?

      Black = AwakeBlue = LucidRed = Dream

      Location: Northern Mexico

I was at a campsite in northern Mexico. After starting to walk out of the camp, i found my view completely covered by a map of where i was in northern Mexico. I was right next to a river, which i noticed after i stopped seeing the map. I saw a horse hitched to a post next to me, and decided I would try to ride it. Right was i got on the horse, a fit, tired looking Mexican man came over to me and told me to follow him. I continued to follow him for a few minutes along an old dirt path which led to an old, western style town with large cement walls all around it.

We started riding through the town, and it seems deserted. As we exited, i got off my horse and started following the man on foot. I then looked at my hand, and there were all 5 fingers on each hand, but my right index finger was half gone, down to a little stub. I quesitoned this and yelled, "Am I dreaming? Is this a dream!?
      I am dreaming!"

"Sweet!", i thought to myself. "What should i do?" I started thinking. I the decided to stabalize the dream by rubbing my hands, even though there was nothing really wrong with it in the first place. It was then that the horses started going crazy and the Mexican man yelled, "Look out!" I turned around, and there was a zombie running towards me, with a pale, white face and eyes as dark as could be. He stopped about 5 feet away from me and started screaming in a low, ghost like shriek that hurt my ears. It was then that the Lucid TotM popped into my mind, use pyrokinesis, so i yelled, "FIRE!" and pushed my arms out, trying to "push" the fire at the zombie, but nothing came out.

I was starting to think, "how can i get fire to come out?" It was then that i noticed the zombie screaming in agony, not trying to intimidate me this time. I tried to use fire again, and yelled as loud as i cou;d, "Burn Zombie!! FIRE!!!" This time i held my arms out in a Dragon Ball Z type thing, and noticed a large light spot on the zombie, as if somebody was shining a spotlight where i was trying to burn him. I was a little confused by this, but i just went with it and the zombie started slowly falling to the ground, singed as if there really were fire. It was once he was dead that suddenly, fire appeared! And i could control it!

I could feel no pain, only a soothing warmness where the fire was. I played around a little bit, amazed that i wasn't getting burned, even though i knew it was a dream. I started walking along the path again juggling fire balls, which I definitely can't do in real life.
That goes for the Fire conjuring/controling as well as juggling. After about 2 minutes of amusing myself with the fire, i noticed somebody having trouble at his campsite. I walked over and noticed a campfire going, a tent, a picnic table, and a Coleman Grill. He was having toruble lighting it, even though there was a campfire behind him, and the fact that he had a lighter in his hands. I walked over, asked him if he needed any help, and he replied, "Yea man, i need to heat up these beans I got here." I then noticed a can of beans next to his stove. I said, "Stand back," and lit the gril for him. He proceeded to thank me and asked if I wanted anything in return, But before i could think of anything, I woke up.

by , 12-13-2008 at 06:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
Dream starts off as an underwater exploration thing. The submarine surfaces in a two storey warehouse where the lower levels are submerged and the upper level is not. There are several men who are exotic tatoo artists and they start drawing designs on the side of the submarine. On the upper level of the warehouse there are many young girls, including myself, and we are all dressed as ballerinas. An instructor arrives and gives us the task of putting out small fires that have appeared around the second floor. Water is provided on rolling carts that have buckets of water on them. When the fires are out the instructor divides the group of girls into two, saying that one group will go home while the other group will stay and learn how to dance, but I wake up before I learn which group I am in.
    11. Clock Watchers

Original dream dated May 9, 2008:

I had several dreams, probably around 4, all of them related by the fact that the characters in the dreams all passed through the same downtown bus station. The buses all went to different, and distant, destinations, but each main character (or busload of people) witnessed four disembodied hands that popped into existence and flew around like birds. This scared them, because they knew it didn't "belong" in their world, although they weren't all sure why. It was evidence of some interdimensional leak.

One busload had orphans on it, the dream followed them but I can't remember much, beyond that they were also anthropomorphic puppy children and I think there were three of them. One dream dealt with a superhero who had a vision of being a little boy trapped in the closet of a burning building - the little boy himself had been prescient, and had seen this coming and been unable to prevent it despite telling his mother about it minutes beforehand. His parents had been fighting, he had left the stove on, it exploded somehow, killing his father and starting a massive fire, and he hid in the closet and locked the door. His mother was pounding on it, trying to get him out. He escaped by crawling down a chute into the basement. There were gremlin/rat things in the basement that had orchestrated this whole thing, all to get him on their side, so they could steal a magical hat that his sister had - but he only had a sister in an alternate world. They successfully stole the hat while he distracted her, but I'm not sure what happened after that.
    12. The Beach of Disappearing

by , 11-06-2006 at 06:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
Dream takes place on a long stretch of beach at night. There are sticks and logs and seaweed all over the place that was probably brought in with the tide. I am walking with someone and even though I cannot see his face and he does not remind me of anyone I know in waking life, we are friends in the dream. He is wearing a grey, hooded sweater, dark knee-lenth shorts. I cannot remember what I was wearing. We seem to be the only people on the beach and there is no other illumination except for that of the moon.

My companion and I are walking barefoot through the soft, cool sand. We carry our sandals and try to avoid stepping on beach debris. After a while of walking and talking (I cannot remember our conversation) my companion points out an orange light in the distance. We walk to it and find an old man has build a little fire amidst some piled up logs. I want to sit by the fire but my friend wants to keep walking. He seems upset that I want to stay with the the old man, and he slowly walks off into the darkness.

I have a long and interesting conversation with the old man about various topics but I have all but forgotten our conversation. When I became bored of talking to the old man I walked off in the direction that my companion had gone. I did not notice until I was some ways away, but I had forgotten to pick up my sandals when I walked away from the fire. I searched the beach for what seemed like forever, but I could not find my friend in the dark. The old man's fire was a speck in the distance and it was becoming very cold, so I decided to head back.

When I got there I found that the old man was gone and my sandals were missing. I was upset about several things so I sat by the fire until it almost burned itself out, waiting for someone to come along. No one does though, and the dream eventually ends.
    13. Vincent Valentine and a False Awakening

by , 09-19-2006 at 08:29 AM (Visions in the Dark)
The dream starts off in a with Vincent Valentine (a character from the Final Fantasy 7 franchise) walking down a road in a dark forest at night. There are few buildings here and there but they seem abandoned. There seems to be no other people and there is only one car (a black 70s trans-am), parked on the side of the road. Vincent gets into the car and drives for a while. The dream becomes a bit fuzzy here and there is something to do with trying to find two children who are lost in the forest, but I cannot remember most of the details. Eventually Vincent arrives at a small town just outside of the forest, where he disappears from the dream and the town begins to resemble my neighbourhood.

Everything in the dream, up till this point, was viewed in a third-person perspective but now I am in the dream and everything is from my perspective. Or perhaps this is a completely different dream, but to me they seemed to run right into each other.

I have a false awakening and sit up in bed because there is a very loud sound that roars somewhere directly above, followed by an explosion that rocks the entire house. The loud noise that woke me up sounded like a commercial airliner and sure enough when I look out my bedroom window (through the billowing smoke and flames) I can see the remains of a giant aircraft that has crashed just metres from my house. I am terrified at this point because I think everything is real due to the false awakening that I have not yet realized has occured.

The smoke and the fire spread very quickly and the walls and various stuff in my bedroom catch fire. I run upstairs (my bedroom is in the basement) and frantically look for the fire extingusher in the hall closet, but I notice some people standing in my driveway. I run outside and the people turn out to be volunteer firefighters. I tell them that my bedroom is on fire and one lady from the group rushes past me and down the stairs. Even though I am panicking I try to follow her with the intention of helping extingush the fire but when I get to the top of the stairs I can see that the entire basement is engulfed in flames and the lady is nowhere in sight.

The dream ended there and I wake up for real, sweaty, shaken, but relieved that it is all a dream. I did various RCs to make sure I was really awake!

    14. Old Dream: Breaking A Curse

      by , 07-22-2003 at 04:02 AM
Original entry dated July 21, 2003:

First, I dreamed there was a fire in Tucson, Arizona, and this woman was trying to beat back the flames and save her house, and she wound up getting horribly burned.
Then the dream changed and we lived on the plains in Africa, or it was in Australia, and there were all of these fires, and animals were running away, etc. and as soon as we thought we'd put them out the fire would come back again...

And there were these reservoirs/waterholes... made of concrete, or something... that used to serve some sort of purpose, but now people just swam in them.
Then we were driving through the country in this horribly beaten up truck and stayed in this house... the houses were like 10 miles apart and most were deserted anyway... anyway, the one guy's great grandmother was dying, and they were sure she was gonna go tonight. I'd been being pestered/tormented by ghosts and spirits and stuff and the house itself was actually particularly bad in that respect, but he said to go in and talk to her before she died, about some sort of ritual that was supposed to help me, where I walked down an aisle with my head down and the priest prayed for me... or whatever... I don't remember the specifics, only that it was done a certain way and she knew the right way.
    15. Blocked fire hose

      by , 12-21-1996 at 06:21 PM
Morning of December 21, 1996. Saturday.

This was a long dream but with not many clear events. The location is ambiguous and somewhat of a fifty-fifty rendered composite of our Gellibrand Street apartment (in Clayfield - Australia) and my sister’s house on Loomis Street in the USA.

A fire starts in the house across the street, which seems to be some sort of “poetic justice” in-dream and not a personal concern. Eventually, it is discovered that firefighters are using our water supply to put out the fire. I notice this when I close the front windows and two fire hoses are then blocked. In a short time, I am ordered to reopen them by a few authorities that come onto our porch.

Instead, I turn off a cassette player that is playing a cassette tape of my personal affirmations that my brother Jim is listening to at a loud volume and otherwise ignore their request.
