    1. 29/10/2016 - why are they always so meta?

      by , 10-30-2016 at 05:28 AM
here's something odd. in a small part of my dream last night, i was browsing /r/luciddreaming and found that somebody had made a post about never being bothered to climb past a ring of mountains that constantly surrounded their dreamworld. this is an incredibly vague description, but the person who made the post showed me what he was talking about by making his mountains surround my own dream. he was a shambly, lost looking guy with scruffy dark clothes and intense bags underneath his eyes. very heroin-chic.

according to him, the mountains were supposed to be present in every lucid dream regardless of who the dream belongs to. so we went to the top, while i simultaneously read his post. i wrote down what i remembered as soon as i woke up

"what's the big deal with the mountains? i'm never bothered to go over them but i finally did, after months. I expected something new but instead all i saw was an endless black lake and the sky where stars grew until they were ripe for picking."

the view was absolutely breathtaking. below the mountains were the sunlit-but-gross winding roads of my little semi-suburb in hong kong. the air was always dry and grassy but as soon as we reached the top, everything was completely dark black and indigo. the sky was filled with stars that moved with our hands like dust. they really did grow larger if you waited long enough, actually.

as for the lake, it was flickering and neither of us had the guts to look down for fear of what we might see.
but now we had discovered what lay beyond the perimeter of his dreams- nothing but the sky that grew above us and the water that plunged beneath us, neither of them ever ending.

      I remembered 1 dream:

I was at one of the largest corn mazes I have seen and it was sunset. I was chasing after these familiar people, but I couldn't catch them. I didn't know who they were, and every once in a while, they would look back and laugh at me. I tripped on a stick, and fell face-first into the dirt. Then I had a false awakening, and I was in my bedroom. One second later, I fell asleep in that dream, and right after that I woke up.

Another riveting dream from my crazy mind. This one went from intriguing to weird. Like my dream just gave up making sense halfway through and went here, enjoy the crazy...

My friends, inexplicably, are trapped in the basement. I made the mistake of going downstairs to see what the cries are for, and they trapped me too. We're scared, cowering in the hall, lined by jail cells on either side of us. We're held by gunpoint and forced into the cells. I'm with two other people, a guy and a girl. I don't know them. I have a gun stashed in my waist, and I realize I could be our only hope.

I shoot the leader in the shoulder and the neck, but of course it's not fatal. Thought I killed him, and I let my guard drop. He shoots me and I get hit in the side. He goes upstairs, and one of his goons comes down to tell us to stay put. I sit down and the guy sits in my lap. He's younger than me, about 12-13, and scared. The other girl and I are trying to comfort him.

The goon shoots into our cell with a shotgun, and it hits the guy in my lap in the shoulder. He doesn't cry out in pain - he sighs and moves off my lap, more annoyed than anything. As we sit, they bring more kids down and lock them into the cells around us, chaining them in. We decide we have to escape.

A girl comes downstairs - apparently she's a witch. She heals the guy with me and then unlocks the cells and the chains so we could free the kids. The bad guys come down and we scatter; the witch stays behind to hold them off and let us escape.

I run upstairs and realize it's was my old apartment. My boyfriend's there, and we run out and get in his truck to drive away. We get lucky and escape, moving out in the process. They didn't see us. I realize how lucky we are because apparently I realize no one else managed it. We go to my current apartment and as we were unpacking, we realized we haven't grabbed everything and we have to go back.

I'm freaking out, but I tell myself it's okay because if I get scared I can just wake up. This oddly doesn't send me into lucidity completely. I'm vaguely aware that I'm dreaming, but not enough to let me take control, just enough to keep me from being afraid.

We run across the front of my apartments through the grass to get to his truck. We run down some stairs past a pond, and there were two boulders rolling around in the water (???). Floating on top like beach balls. I joked they were cannon balls and this cracked me up in the dream (I have no idea don't ask). The boulders were splashing and rolling, and water kept splashing us. We were both soaked and since I had flip flops they kept slipping off so I had to keep going back to get them. There was a party going and tons of people were on the lawn. After the third time of running back to get flip-flops the dream sort of shifts.

I was Stewie from family guy. As I turn on the grass I'm in a suburban neighborhood, no longer at my apartment. I was sitting in a driveway and Brian (also from family guy) was standing behind me.

He and some other people were standing around drinking, making fun of me. I got up and asked Brian for a favor. I don't remember what I asked or what he said, but he laughed me off. I was upset. I took a drink from one of his friends and downed it. I remember writing in a journal that 'I wanted to drive away and never come back. But I'm drunk so I can't. So I walked away instead'. Which I did.

And when I wandered away I became myself again. I was back at the apartments, by the pond. I found someone's phone, with the name Tara on the screen. I stumbled around the pond and got to this bridge walkway thing. A bunch of people were rushing by. I casually said 'Tara?' to a girl running by. She didn't respond so I asked if she knew Tara, and she said no. I asked where she was going, she said 'there was a fire on___ street! My. Family's there!' and I realized that's where I'd left Brian and the others (my family still, apparently) and I rushed to go see them.

I'm apparently on a hill because now I have to run down giant stairs to get to the houses. I mean there's like a huge foot wide gap between each stair, and they're actually mini tvs playing ESPN Sportscenter, instead of real steps.

I distract myself trying to walk and watch at the same time and remember thinking this is why these aren't mass produced. They're doing an interview. The man interviewing is in a dinosaur costume, talking to a little girl that just got rescued from the house fire I'm rushing to. I wake up when I reach the bottom of the steps more confused than I have been in a while.

Honestly one of my favorite dreams of the year! It was so vivid and memorable and I woke up kind of wanting to make a book out of it! I loved it.

Ashley and I get caught up in this guy's attempt to outsmart the mob. He had a flash drive and he's trying to get it to someone else (not sure why, I get the idea there's some sensitive content?) and we have to help and stay with him for our own safety. It's never explained but I get the feel that we accidentally know too much; the people hunting us don't care we shouldn't be involved, and they'll kill us for what we know and to get to the flash drive.

We are on the run, having left our lives behind. Again it's not mentioned but it's just the feel that I get. We've reached New York - our destination - and we're outside a public library. We're trying to get money from some machine, change from dollars so we can make a call. Mob guy gets a few quarters from a stranger while we're fighting with the machine, and he goes off and makes a phone call to verify where we meet the other person. This person is gonna take the flashdrive and take the blame from us. We'll be free, able to go back to our own lives.

Apparently the call he makes was traced. He tells one of us to watch him, and if he gives the signal were being watched, we need to run for our own safety. Turns out he's in love with one of us, don't remember which one, and he wants to protect us more than the flash drive now. I volunteer to watch while Ash finds us an escape route.

Now it's kinda blurry. He's approached by someone and a lady comes up to me asking if I've seen her son. While I'm distracted the mob guy disappears. I look up, hes gone, and I panic. I run back for Ash and I'm not sure exactly what happens. It gets a little choppy. I remember running through the library. I remember thinking it was a false alarm and then somehow we're actually being chased by police. We find a little boy, maybe the same one the woman asked about? And I remember thinking that he's caught in all of this now too and we're gonna get him killed.

At the end of the dream we've jumped ahead a few years. I've broken away from Ash and the guy (I think she's who he fell in love with). I'm gonna go design candles and alarm systems (?) and apparently I'm the one who invents Scentsy. Apparently the company I run off to join is part of the mob and I don't know it yet. I'm about to close a deal for the company and I'm faced with this mob guy; the one that I suddenly realize is who we were gonna give the flashdrive to. He set us up and he's what caused us to run that day in New York.

I panic; I somehow know it's him, and he recognizes me. He grins at me. I can't run now, and I don't have original mob guy or Ashley to help me now. I wake up with a start and an urge to run to New York and start a really weird business.
    6. Laser beams and Digitized Multi-tools

      by , 10-02-2016 at 07:07 AM
      Lucid
      Side note
      Non-lucid

Pretty cool lucid, can't remember all of it though.

I gained spontaneously lucidity. It was a very bright day and I was on a trampoline. My sister was talking to me. She kept annoying me so I created a laser from my finger and shined it in her eyes. It acted more like a red-dot laser and a small flashlight simultaneously. I made a cranking motion with my other hand and it became brighter. She left me alone after that. My lucidity levels dropped and suddenly it snowed really hard making several feet of snow.

I kept trying to create a tool to melt the snow but it didn't work. I walked into my house but it was super dark even though it had windows. This was a past dream sign of mine, and every time it turned out really bad so I walked outside again. I tried “grabbing” it from the corner but expectation just wasn't helping. I decided to run right through the wall of snow and felt the sting of the cold on my face. It significantly raised my lucidity so I tried to summon the tool again. I first started by creating a pen out of thin air. I managed to actually create it inside my vision giving me confidence of my dream control. Then I imagined the pen turning into a tool.

The snow levitated from the ground and then digitized around the staff forming new parts of it slowly. In the end I was left with this weird red stick with a small black figure of an elephant. I used it to melt the snow and create new snow. My sister seemed vaguely impressed in the background. It had tons of buttons all over it so I pressed one randomly and it created a bunch of bees.

I panicked and pressed a “world reset” button. It brought the world back to the way it was before I had changed it so I dived into the snow again. Afterwards I slowly lost lucidity until I had almost none at all. The dream changed into a portal-like game I was trying to solve with an underworld theme. After doing that for about three minutes I spontaneously forced myself to wake up, so that I wouldn't forget this lucid.

    7. Finding Myself

by , 09-11-2016 at 04:50 PM (Exploring My Mind)
More radio silence for an entirely different reason this time around. These past handful of days, I've been recalling little fragments. Although they were little, however, they held important significance. Each one dealt with a pretty symbolic subject matter corresponding to stuff that's been going on in my life lately. A shame more detail for them wasn't recalled.
Which leads me to how things have been IRL these past few days. Lately, I've been undergoing a change in attitude. It was a busy week for me and my family, as we had my aunt and cousin over and we never see them since we moved, so we did a lot of stuff. One thing of note we did was go to the beach.
The beach holds a lot of meaning to me, when it comes to lucid dreaming anyways. First and foremost, it's a relaxing place. Everything about it; the sounds, the breeze, the vastness of it all. It helps that we went at dusk. It also holds meaning due to my use of it in my lucid dreaming story Dream Gazers, as a meet-up place for the protagonists' shared lucid dreams. I find myself thinking about lucid dreaming a lot whenever I go to the beach anymore, and sometimes it can bring on strong, vivid dreams. In this case, it didn't, but that's okay.
Since that night at the beach, I've sort of been re-analyzing my path in life and what I'm doing, where I'm going, what I want to do now. My life got turned upside down last year, and I've been scrambling to piece it together since then, barely able to grasp hold of something concrete. It's just difficult, sometimes, figuring yourself out, y'know? I've had to re-adjust all my expectations, all my feelings, all my views after losing someone special, and now, I think I'm starting to gain a foothold.
Multiple plans of action have been laid out before me, and in thinking hard about these things, I've felt a lot more happy and clear headed these past few days than I have in a while. I've been doing my standard LDing practices in the course of that time, but I haven't been 100% going at it, as I've busied my mind so much with the future. In any case, that's done nothing to throw me off the track, and I'm thankful for it. To cap all of these thoughts up, I remembered (and wrote down) a non-lucid this morning, with moderate detail. ^^
I was visiting my friend's house (call him A) and hanging out with the girl (K) from my prior dream (I'm starting to think she may be a dream sign) where she asked me to that dance. IRL this girl is A's niece, and I'm good friends with both of them. Strangely, A appeared to be absent. K said he was upstairs, but while we hung out down in the kitchen eating breakfast, he was no where to be seen, and we certainly couldn't hear him upstairs. What was strange about the setting of this dream was that it was shot like a movie. I could see myself in third person, and multiple dramatic effects and music scores would play when certain things happened. At one point later in the dream, I rushed back into the house, my mom and aunt following closely behind me. We were running from something outside, but I don't recall what it was, or if we even knew what it was.
Also later on in the dream, K appeared on the news. Nothing bad had happened, thankfully, but I don't remember why she was on the news or what they were talking about, yet she was sitting right across from me still. She looked at the TV with an amused expression, and we resumed our daily activities.

So that's been me these past few days. Life's just being life.
    8. Dream Sign to an Oblivious Mind

by , 09-06-2016 at 08:05 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Monday morning's dream was a pretty teeny tiny fragment, involving a super smart yet annoying guy barging his way into my house and demanding me to solve his riddles.
This morning, however, was a bit more fruitful! Especially due to the re-appearance of a dream sign of mine.
      But first, middle-of-the-night-wake-up-fragments.
I was on a huge ship in the middle of an ocean being ravaged by a raging storm. Alongside the storm was, of course, a sea monster, and the whole crew (me included) had to square off against it in an RPG-styled battle. And thennnn!
I was homeless, and wandering the cold, dark streets of a city I didn't really recognize. I was trying to find shelter in whatever place I could, till eventually I met this family who decided to take me in for the night.
      Now for the non-lucid.
I was in the house I used to live in, and sitting on the couch nearby was my ex and her boyfriend. All three of us were getting ready to watch a movie, but I was feeling pretty glum and sour about the situation, so I moped my way over to the kitchen area and pet my ex's dog for a little while. Eventually, I decided I'd just leave, and this was no small undertaking as I knew it'd be a long 6 hour drive back home. I relayed my plans to the two of them, and my ex pleaded that I stay and enjoy the movie. I, however, was resolute. I headed out. The in-between here is a blur but I do remember driving my way home on dark roads.
Too bad I didn't do an RC. I've been training myself IRL to reality check whenever my ex sends me any messages, or if I catch a stray thought about her. However, she hasn't appeared in my dreams much lately; this was the first time in a little while now.
    9. From Mundane to...Ehh??

by , 09-04-2016 at 03:16 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Haven't posted any entries in 4 days, but rest assured, I'm ALIVE. Rather than not posting due to no recall, however, I didn't post the entries for the 1st and 2nd of September simply because they were extremely mundane dreams.
Literally all they consisted of was me hanging out with my family and going about day to day business. Nothing really to write in depth about.
The dream I had for the morning of the 3rd (or, yesterday, as of this time of writing) was an interesting one involving the concept of inception.
My cousin was going to get married to this jerk of a guy, and I wasn't okay with it, so I decided to pull a Leonardo DiCaprio and delve into her dreams to perform inception. A dream about dreams, as it were. Deep.
And then, this morning's. All of these dreams don't have a whole lot of detail recalled, but rather, specific plot points. One thing that has been improving though is my ability to recollect these things even after falling back asleep, as usually that's enough to simply wipe my memory of it if I didn't write it down.
I was hanging out with this girl I used to know really well IRL (we haven't hung out in literal ages), and we were sitting on this outdoor park bench. Yet, half of the area was covered in what appeared to be a house. So it was like half outdoors, half house. I can't even find a good way to describe that, it was a sort of reality warp-ish type of dream scene, the kind your dream self can understand just fine, but in real life you're like 'wtf'
Anyways, strange dream scene aside, we were sitting on this bench, a nice breeze blowing through, and just sort of happily people-watching. All of a sudden, she turns to me and nervously asks if I'd like to accompany her to her school's Snowball dance. Shocked, but pleasantly surprised, I happily accept. Almost immediately, in comes a lot of people I know and associate with this girl. They just begin walking by, mumbling their thoughts about that turn of events.
Sorry if this one sounded bizarrely described, but that's cuz it really was sort of bizarre. It had a nice peaceful atmosphere, but a lot of weird stuff that you'd usually only notice upon waking (or maybe not, in the event of a successful DILD, which has yet to come. But that's okay!)
Anyways, sorry for the radio silence, and happy dreaming.
    10. 31th of August: Games, death and concern (4 non-lucid dreams)

      by , 08-31-2016 at 10:36 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
      1:00 - 6:40
      Demonic Crime Scene
I'm a disembodied observer inside a game world. I follow a playable character around as a youtuber, Rockleesmile aka Nick, talks about the game. I just see the game, but Nick's voice is easy to recognize. Nick is giving praise to this game and calls it Dead Space 2. The playable character does look like Isaac, but the game is an open world puzzle game with monsters that remind me of Dark Souls. Then Nick shows me the jetpack and how fast you can go with it. I am impressed. It looks fun. My memory here is a bit fuzzy, but I feel like I took over the playable character for a while to just fly around the level.

I continue as a cameraman. Nick explains that he has been stuck on this level for a long time. He goes into a large metallic building with wandering demons and two robots. These robots switch between a sad expression to a happy one. The two seem to be important to the puzzle. I force Nick to focus on this. With my influence, he solves the puzzle. The two robots start to fight and draw attention of a tiny demon that is wandering outside. This little black, transparent blob that's no bigger than my fist. The demon is annoyed by this fighting inside the building. It slaughters all the robots and demons inside the building. The path in no longer blocked.

I manifest a body and go deeper into this building. There's a crime scene and I have to solve puzzles, a lot of evidence on the ground. There is a cross on the ground made of black smoke. Red light shines from inside the smoke periodically. There are glowing red marks on the ground, about 15 of them. There is a big orb floating in the middle, I know that it's a soul. It's black, indicating that it belongs to a demon. There is a calendar on the ground and small vials on certain dates. I investigate these vials, at least one of them should have glowing green liquid inside. I break the first one I pick up. I notice that it's hard to do things that require precision, I feel like I'm drunk. (I should have RCed.)

      WBTB from 6:40 to 7:10

Short dream: Hanna and Tuomas called me. They asked why I hadn't contacted in a long while. I started telling them about my health problems. As I focused on talking, my mind wandered like it does in waking life. The result of this inside a dream is a new dream scene. I was flying above a small fantasy village, like Shire from LotR, while still on the phone with Hanna. Hanna and Tuomas were very understanding. (It's like I see a dream with my mind's eye, while focusing on something else. I do it all the time. I also woke up after this.)

      Fighting Tooth Fairy
I see a map and believe that I'm on a sailing ship. I'm trying to find the dock. I zoom in the map, but it doesn't help me too much. I force my vision out of the map, we are about to crash otherwise. As the map closes, my vision is in the sky, same angle as Diablo-games. The ship hits the dock and disappears. The crew is safely on the dock. A bit bizarre, I think. The wooden planks of the dock are a few centimeters underwater.

Dream skips a bit. I'm a cameraman again, following my brother's character. He went inland from the dock and is fighting a fleshy bull monster. I tell him how the monsters in this area are difficult. A charge attack will straight up kill you. Then I remember that my brother is level 38 and I was here at level 20. I tell him he might be ok. My brother is using a bow and arrow.

The next monster he encounters is a massive black salamander like creature with a large head and a huge mouth. The monster has small dragonfly-like wings. Reminds me of Dark Souls a lot. The arrows are not doing anything. I notice that the monster opens it's mouth periodically. I tell my brother to aim for it's mouth. My brother does so and it seems to work. A bright white light shoots out of the beasts mouth. Then we see a huge crystal inside it's mouth. The monster stops fighting us. It congratulates us on figuring out his weakness. I ask what the things around his neck are. "Extra teeth. I'm a tooth fairy."

The monster goes back down to a small canyon it crawled out of. We approach the edge of it. There is a small giant lying dead in the canyon. The corpse has some sick armor on. "Can we take those boots?" I ask the tooth fairy. "Sure, you earned it. Just take the boots though." The boots are shiny white metal. (And I think the real name for these are greaves and sabatons) I still have no body and my brother's character seems to be gone. A female knight in white armor takes the giant's boots and puts them on. She now has the complete set. She looks badass. (I woke up and focused on recalling as much details as I can, fell asleep for a bit more.)

Short dream: People gathering outside, getting ready for a competition. There are teams of 3-4 people. I see this vividly. I just stare at each character, because I don't usually see dream characters this vividly, their faces are often blurry. Not this time, I see everything clearly and without needing my glasses. (Some level of awareness, but not quite lucid.)

    11. All For Her

by , 08-30-2016 at 08:47 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Hit another two day snag of no recall. Whereas lately I've been recalling a pretty similar handful of fragments and small non-lucids, this morning's dream was a very long non-lucid, all recalled in a lot of detail. So, without further ado, here's the latest dream adventure:
The real world was set up as a sort of role playing game, with items, stats, levels, and magic all being just a normal part of this dream's universe. In comes me, just a humble guy from the local village, preparing a large building in honor of the upcoming arrival of a very important guest. This guest was apparently some famous girl, a girl my dream self seemed to be rather infatuated by. It was normal to be though, as everybody in the village adored her. According to local rumors, she had mystical powers. Some said she was the chosen one. Me, I was just happy to be setting up this nice place for her. According to the people who assigned me the task, the building would need prepared for her to stay in while she visited the village. I even had to go grocery shopping so there was plenty food and drink for her.
So the girl, I sadly cannot recall her name, arrived. I took her on a tour of the building, and she was extremely impressed.
It's here where things get hazy. But next thing I know...
In a twist of fate, the girl turned on the townsfolk. She revealed her true evil intentions, and transformed the building into a deadly dungeon filled with traps and monsters and just all around evil crap. It had turned out that all my preparation of the place was really just a trick to get it in good shape for all the previously mentioned things. I was devastated. Heartbroken. The townsfolk held me responsible, saying that I must go deal with her or suffer the consequences. And so I did.
Heading into the building, I was surprised to not find any traps or monsters at the front door, but instead, the girl herself. She was acting more like her kind self from before, but this illusion didn't last long, and she quickly transformed into her true form, a hideous red monster with wings.
It was then that I knew what I had to do. Running outside, I quickly found a climbable pathway up the side of the tall building. I scaled it, and reached the open-roofed top, where I found some potions to help me conduct a powerful magic spell. The spell, which took quite a moment to prepare, transformed the entire building back to normal in a dazzling flash of light. As for what happened to the girl in the aftermath...nobody saw her ever again.

An explosion of detail, if I do say so myself... Let's keep it up! Also, what a dream.
    12. Almost Lucid: Government Chases and School Antics

by , 08-26-2016 at 07:46 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Had a two day period of no recall, but I didn't let that deter me, and this morning I was able to recall two non-lucids. What was frustrating about the second one, however, is that I was almost lucid! Well, frustrating isn't quite right. It's more both heartening AND frustrating, nice and bittersweet. Here's the first non-lucid:
I was being chased by these government agent types; they were an army of about 10 men and women dressed up in black suits and equally black sunglasses. They were after me for reasons I didn't know, but what I did know was that I needed to hide. I ran all over the place trying to find a good enough hiding spot. Seemed like we were in a sort of hotel-like place. I ducked through a stairwell, noticing a guy as I passed by who I knew from real life, somebody from my high school, and for some reason, he was wearing a sombrero. He shook his head and looked away. Eventually I found a tucked away corner behind a column and waited. They passed me by, and the leading lady was barking orders left and right, having the group split up. Did I get caught? Well, let's hope not. Dun dun dunnnn.
      The second dream:
I was in a classroom that looked like my old psychology class's classroom from high school. I was minding my own business, but the guy I recognized from high school in the previous dream was also in this classroom (no sombrero this time, a shame...) and he was ranting like crazy, to the point where it was bothering others. I couldn't take it anymore, so I slammed my hands on my desk, stood up, turned around, and shouted at him to just shut up. He gave a snappy retort back at me, and the entire class fell silent. I gave him a glare and sat back down in my seat. Suddenly, I got the strangest urge to do a reality check. All I could think was, I should probably reality check right now. ......And yet, nah...I'll do it later. Dismissing that thought, I noticed a fictional character from a game I play walk into the classroom. In this game, she's a little sister to the main character, so she happened to be my imaginary little sister here. She was bringing me cookies, which cheered up my grumpy mood a little. All I can say is...CURSE YOU, DREAM-SELF!!! On the one hand, I'm delighted my non-lucid self is thinking those thoughts. That's a good sign of progress. BUT SO CLOSE. Yet so far. In a dream that wasn't all that weird, funny enough, at least compared to the antics of the dream before it.
    13. Fireworks and Christmas Dinners

Here's this morning's collection of dreams, which had a sort of holiday theme going on.
I stood in a grassy field with a friend I vaguely know in real life. It was night time, and we were waiting for fireworks. All of a sudden, multiple fireworks shot up into the sky. They were abnormally huge, and all the more beautiful because of it, filling the sky with a multitude of wonderful colors. Before I could really get out a word about how great it all looked, this friend of mine kissed me. That's all I remember here. Pretty odd my friend was involved in this manner, as I don't know her all that well!
I was swimming in a pool that looked a lot like the pool we used in P.E. class in high school. As me and a bunch of other swimmers were heading out and back to the locker room, one of them collapsed by the entrance, having a sort of seizure. A guy I know IRL, we'll call him D, who I don't like very much appeared out of no where and was suddenly giving the collapsed guy medical attention. D looked up at me and held out his hand, asking me to give him my phone. I hesitantly complied. Seems like there could be multiple ways to interpret this one. Hmmhmm hmmity hmm.
I was at a Christmas party with a good portion of my family, as well as a couple of familiar coworkers and people I didn't know or recognize at all. It was a fairly nice party, with lots of tables, food, and nice music playing. We were all standing in line at a vending machine, but when it was my turn to pop in some change and pick my drink, I couldn't for the life of me figure the thing out. Standing directly behind me was an old coworker of mine, we'll call her W, who was starting to get quite angry at how long I was taking. She eventually slapped the change out of my fumbling hands, yelling about how I needed to get a move on and let everybody else go. My cousin, who was standing behind W, told her to take it easy. I slumped my head and walked over to the nearby fridge, which had a smaller selection of drinks.
I saw one that caught my eye: Strawberry soda in a very fancy bottle. I picked it up and went back over to my cousin, who was now standing next to this girl I didn't recognize. They were both drinking bottles of beer, so when the girl saw me approach, she gave a cold look at my bottle of soda and rolled her eyes. Seems everyone just wasn't having it with me at this party! Her and my cousin sauntered away, talking about something incoherently.
In real life, I actually have never had alcohol to this day, and I don't plan on it. If I were at a party like this, that's pretty much exactly how it would go. I'm happy with the amount of detail recalled~
    14. Fragment Onslaught

by , 08-22-2016 at 09:24 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Didn't sleep too well last night. As it would turn out, I had a pretty good 2 hour nap late into the evening, so come bed time later that night, I really wasn't all that tired. Therefore, the night was spent sort of sleeping but frequently waking up, much to my dismay. Luckily enough, I was able to recall multiple dreams, but on the downside, they're all basically fragments. Here they are anyways:
I was eating at Olive Garden, when all around me the customers and waiters and waitresses all started going crazy, dancing around like lunatics, throwing things at each other. I huddled up further into my booth and continued to enjoy my breadsticks. Clearly my dream self has important priorities!
I was in this huge house with a lot of my family as well as complete and total strangers. The front side of the house was open to the outside street, where multiple houses alongside it were selling goods. Not much of note here.
I was in a small room that looked like something out of Homestuck, and on the wall, projected, was a cool looking animation of David Strider and Jade Harley. This fragment may have been a part of the same house dream just before it. Funny I had Homestuck appear here, as I've not been into it in a couple of years now.
I was on an alien world, and everything was blowing up. ......
My ex and I entered into a contract of sorts, and we were living together and going about our day-to-day pretty happily. Still learning to get into the habit of reality checking when she's involved, as she's basically the biggest dream sign I have.
    15. The Red Tree Mystery

by , 08-21-2016 at 05:05 PM (Exploring My Mind)
Since starting back in my lucid dreaming practices a couple of weeks back, I've recalled quite a few dreams, almost one every night, barring a few days, but I've yet to put any of those in here. With that being said, here's this morning's, in which I recalled two pretty sparse fragments and one non lucid dream.
My dad was insistently questioning me about shower curtains. Literally all I've got on this one. What could it mean? Are the shower curtains symbolic of the walls we put up around ourselves? 6deep8me.
I was in a very ritzy looking cafe, enjoying a cup of coffee and browsing my phone, looking at various pictures of a girl I thought was cute. Again, just a fragment. Unlike the strange nature of that first fragment, however, this dream had a nice, fluffy, happy feeling to it. Now, for the actual full non-lucid:
I was in some sort of ruins, and could see a sort of heads up display that looked like No Man's Sky's HUD. Lately, it seems like NMS has worked its way into my dreams in subtle ways. I was exploring these ruins on some sort of vague quest, gathering up materials and items. Eventually I found my way into a big building, which looked like something straight out of the game The Witness. It even had a similar puzzle inside of it that I was required to solve. Floating above the ground was a chrome-colored monolith with a red tree insignia on it. Touching the monolith made it dive into the ground, and several huge, red trees sprouted up around me. A river of orange-ish colored water began flowing between the crevices in the floor. How would I solve this puzzle? Unfortunately you get the cliffhanger that never ends on this one, as that's all I can remember.
