I'm on a lake. In the lake, there's a small island; there's an enormous tree whose roots cover almost the entire island; at the base of the tree, there's a standing mirror, silver in color this time; and in front of the mirror, there are two steel bars. There's a steel vine covered in thorns that's wrapped around the bars in an arch, serving as a lock. I unwind the thorny vine and remove it. The mirror's open now. Traveling through the basement of a ruined mansion, where the walls have crumbled so much there's a sense of open air and greenery, there's a painting of Joan of Arc commissioned by the woman who used to own this estate, and I'm pleased to see she had it painted so that Joan resembles the commissioner herself. This would be considered disrespectful, which is why it was hidden away in the basement. I'm in an open, airy, bright library where some event is going on, some new release that's drawn in a lot of upper class, scholarly types. It's interrupted by a woman who's some kind of monster I'm familiar with, delivering a hostile message to me and leaving again. She frightened most of the people into backing away. I'm thinking, although these things are hostile and my automatic reaction to them is equally hostile, they only exist because of my "tainted blood," which was what originally created her kind, generations back; thinking about that, there's a shift in attitude, I start to pity them. They're essentially my responsibility, though they're not aware of it.
Morning of August 2, 2015. Sunday. There is a small hill on the side of a larger hill sloped down to my left with a single tree growing on the top and a small cave within the smaller hill that is slightly to the left at first. Looking more closely upon approach, tree roots hang down from the ceiling of the cave. This creates somewhat of an unusual impression that I cannot put words to. It gives me pause to think that, even though the tree is possibly very old, many of its roots are exposed within the cave, even more-so by anyone who wants to mess about in the cave. In fact, I even get the impression of an unsavory character looking around the side of the hill to my right. Going partly into the cave though mostly staying by the entrance, I discover that the roots are actually not roots, but the trunk of some sort of miniature exotic tree (possibly a fruit tree of some kind). The top of the tree is in fact very green and I now see that the roof of the cave has nothing hanging from it as was seen just previously. Now I think that this special tree may even be more vulnerable than the tree above (even though it is unlikely it would have flourished in a dark cave as such) as it is seemingly much younger and certainly smaller. However, it soon dawns on me that I am, in fact, in the cave myself (rather than looking in from just outside) and am looking out at a normal-sized tree in a field that is a fair distance from the cave, as I realize I am looking at a blue sky from my viewpoint rather than the dark recesses of a cave. (There is a brief sense of deja vu relating to something about commentary on dream journals, yet I cannot quite focus and I am in no way lucid and the idea of a dream journal, especially a digital one, falsely seems somewhat abstract and “out of reach”). I am wondering if I should feel vulnerable now that I am in the cave and am not sure if I should exit. I do not really focus on the illogical changes of perspective and imagery and placement that I would otherwise just enjoy in light sleep paralysis (during the speedier imagery before it slows down enough to “enter” when a more interesting setting or location appears). When I was very young, I played near a recess in a hill on Chipmunk Coulee, though the “cave” was not very deep. I remember at least one photograph where I was sitting in the area, which is probably with at least one relative now. I remember the unusual perspective I had at that age (which carried over into some later dreams) of being “between worlds” just by sitting within the entrance (part of me outside, part inside).

Although it is too unclear in memory to thoroughly journal it, last night I had a lucid dream that completed not 1, not 2, but THREE tasks that I had previously set. In the dream, I was outside (TOTNLD Go Outside), picked up and uprooted a very large tree (TOTM Develop a Supernatural Power), AND when picking it up and dropping it, sunk a couple feet into the ground due to the weight and threw tons of dirt into the air, respectively. (TOTW, Dig a Hole). On top of that, I almost completed half of my TOTY by almost being able to swing the tree over my back and onto a house (TOTY part 1 Commit a Crime with a Supernatural Power). Also, I would like to share my strategy for developing super strength in dreams, at least for the use of lifting a heavy object. I first grab the object (as for the tree, I had to hug it to grab a large enough part), close my eyes, try to lift, and then as soon as I feel a lifting sensation I open my eyes and due to momentum, I am now able to lift the object. Task 1: Pick up a tree again, Develop better clarity. Task 2: Punch someone out with no effort. Task 3: Destroy a large statue with my bare hands. Feeling:

Ritual: WTB 12am, WBTB 4–5:30am (working), woke 6:15am with dream. I dreamed I was working in a museum and I had assembled a collection of objects to show people. I had left a bunch of things lying outdoors on a forest path and wanted to bring them in, so I grabbed an armful of tall leather boots (there were least six pairs in different styles) and walked back to the museum. By the time I reached my destination I was only carrying one pair, and thought I must have dropped the others along the way. I wasn't sure where to store the boots I had brought back, but I looked around and decided to lock them up in a tall armoire of Japanese design. I opened up the doors and there was another set of doors behind the first, and another set behind that, three in all before I reached the interior. I decided to take my car to go back and get the rest of the stuff since I had left a lot of things lying on the path and I wasn't doing a good job of bringing them back by hand. I have a third-person impression of watching my car wind its way through a narrow gorge: at times I was afraid the rocks were too close together for the car to fit, but I found it easy to lift the car off the ground and twist it as needed to avoid the rocky outcroppings. After getting safely through the narrow rocks I felt very pleased with my success, and decided that I should spend more time driving like this, using the wind as propulsion. This jogged my memory: wind! Wasn't that one of this month's TOTMs? At that moment I became lucid and decided to attempt the task. I raised my arms and called out in a loud voice, "Wind!" I remembered that the task required not using any active power to fly, but letting the wind pick me up and carry me wherever it might be going. So after summoning the wind, I waited passively but invited it to lift my body in the air. The air picked me right up like I was as weightless as a feather, and I relaxed into it. It was wonderfully pleasant and enjoyable to be buoyed up in this way. Curiously I looked around me, wondering where we might be going. I have the impression of thick flocks of birds darkening in the air in what seemed like abstract geometric patterns. I recalled that the bonus task also involved mastering the elements, and wondered if I could use this same wind to knock things down on the land below without getting buffeted too much while I was floating in it. I peered down at the trees, which appeared to be somewhere between 50 to 100 feet below me (I'm terrible at estimating vertical distances). They were in full green leaf and showed no sign of being blown about excessively by the wind at its current strength. I thought it would be a shame to knock down such beautiful trees, and before I could convince myself otherwise, I felt the air around me destabilizing and woke up.
I'm wading through icy water, tracking someone down. It's dark, the water looks black, and there's this mist in the air, I can't see very far. There's bodies floating in the water, wrapped in cloth. There's another man here with me, he calls me by the name of Logan. I'm focused on the dampness in the air - it caused problems earlier when we couldn't get a fire to catch. Thinking about fire makes me see another time, standing in a large stone hall, standing off to the left of the woman presiding over some ceremony, having to remain still throughout her speech, wearing armor, uncomfortable. There were rows of people arranged in front of us, and as she called each of them up she'd hand them a lit candle, symbolic, but I was looking at those candles and thinking of them as never enough to hold off the chill. Back in the icy water, we've found the person we were looking for in a little area surrounded by bare trees. He's standing off to one side and watching an old woman perform some kind of ceremony, something like a funeral for the old ruler here - I have a vague impression of something strung up among the trees, either the last ruler's bones themselves or at least something representing them. She knows who we are. She tells me that just because I've killed the old ruler, that doesn't make this place mine. The territory is passed down through the blood, and there's still someone with the elf blood to inherit it - the man we've been tracking down. He's not related to the old ruler, and he's more human than anything else, as is she, but that doesn't matter; this territory will remain in the hands of his people, not mine. The man in question objects to this - this is a situation being forced on him. He tells me he's sorry. The guy who'd tracked him down with me makes some sarcastic comment, telling him to quit the humble act; but I believe him, this isn't something he'd wanted. Nonetheless, the old woman's in the right; there's nothing I can do here, we've lost. I tell him it's all right. It's only when I speak and hear the tone in my voice that I (the dreamer side of me) realize he and I (the character side of me) had been sleeping together; we're most likely going to have to end that now. The old woman resumes her ceremony, now involving him. It doesn't take long, just a few words. There's a wreath of pale yellow flowers which he accepts from her; as soon as the ceremony's done he drops it and it falls apart in the water. I'm thinking of the moment I first met him, when he'd been locked up in a cell.
From the classroom to jungle I was in school, sitting in classroom with other people. My English language teacher made us test from relligion. I took a pen, and looked at the test. Suddenly I got teleported into a jungle. I was surrounded by huge trees and smaller plants. I started to climb one of the trees. Looking around while going higher all the time. When I reached the top, I saw a beautiful view. I jumped down and landed safely on the leaves. Next I started to run around and hug all the trees.
I came across a mirror lying on the floor, remembered the TOTM and went lucid. The mirror's rather small for this - I take hold of the edges and pull it wide enough to stretch out on top of it. Initially, unusually, the mirror showed me my reflection - I focus on the background behind it, and it goes black. I briefly imagine stars in that blackness, but don't actually see them; that acts as a trigger, and I sink into the mirror as if it's liquid. On the other side, I'm walking out of an apartment building into an alley. I have a thought that this is supposed to represent somewhere in Wyoming; but looking around at the buildings, the vending machines, this definitely looks like Japan. I wonder if that's just my mind filling in the setting with familiar memories, or if this is actually meant to be Japan; I keep walking, figuring it'll work itself out, and I had no particular goal here anyway. I cut through a shopping area where people are eating, listening to them talk, no one saying anything particularly interesting to listen in on. I'm uncertain whether I'm visible to others; my initial impression had been that they couldn't see me, which is how I preferred it, but there do seem to be a few people here and there who notice. Out of the shopping area and onto a main street, there are Christmas lights in the trees here. I cross the street and find the sidewalk's lined with little garden plots, blocked off by ropes - some kind of display, or some kind of competition maybe. One such plot holds a tree that fascinates me - it's white, not much taller than I am, gnarled, no leaves, and covered here and there in pale green moss with small blue flowers. Very beautiful.
"Anaken"? An event somewhere. It was a grass area. A familiar place but not sure where. Manila? We were looking for a jeep. It's night, so I'm worried I might get lost or end up in a bad place. I imagined a place along the road that's dark. There are trees on both sides. I decided to tag along with others. I think Amben and Sacha were there. It's... dawn? Or late afternoon? We were walking near a plaza area. There are stuff for sale. Grey colors, dim, hazy. --- Notes: - It was clearer when I woke up but I keep going back to bed to sleep some more. - I slept around 11 p.m. Woke up at around 10 a.m., but I kept going back to sleep before that. - Slept to Kelly McGonigal's default mode meditation.
It was night. I was looking up from the ground to the second floor of a house. It has the 3-D strategy video game feel, like Chrono Cross. Somehow, we (me and my party) reached the second floor, inside a room. We were fighting a "monster." Somehow, I thought it was Death. It was simply glowing white but I saw the shape of a scythe. I jumped just as it slashed horizontally. Then I was watching the fight. I saw "Death" throw some kind of power. I caught it by pressing "k" and timing it properly. I used it to heal my allies and also to steal two items. I had to rearrange the items because my party's pouches are full. Somehow, that ended the game. I was in the room. I was talking to people. One of our allies has a mask. She seems female. She has small white shirt that hugs her torso and tight white shirt/jeans. Her mask is all white, without any slits for the eyes or nose. She has long blond hair tied into two "ears." It would have looked freaky. In fact, I was surprised when I first saw her since I didn't know we had her in the party. I asked who she was. One of our party members (also female with brown curly hair, a Spanish look, and slightly shorter than masked woman) said she joined our team before the fight on the second floor. I somehow saw her climb up from the balcony and jumping in the fight at night, which was creepier. I forgot her soon after. It's eating time (breakfast? dinner? lunch?). Everyone's around the table. I saw one middle-aged guy with a hefty belly and slightly long brown hair with a white tank top. (very cartoonish) There were so many of us that we could hardly fit around the table. While we were arranging ourselves, a balloon burst. Somehow, that made me a bit angry, but then it disappeared. For some reason, I thought that we were on a higher floor, and that the air pressure affected it. I thought of the formula 1/x. There was also a vision of our fight before. Not sure if it happened before the fight with Death or after. We were outside. People were turning into rats: one person becomes many rats. It felt like a plague or a curse. I think a person gets bitten by something and it slowly turns him into rats. One guy, Emman, was there helping out/fighting whoever was the bad guy. There were two of them inside the van when I found them. One guy was already turning helplessly into rats. Parts of Emman was slowly turning into rat-like color and texture. I saw movement/bulging within his T-shirt. I helped him out. I think he was with us while eating (which triggered the vision?), so I think he made it. Still not sure how. I was outside. It was sunny. I was running, not out of fear but out of fun. There's a wall ahead of me, and I jumped up and through the rails. There were trees and leaves all around on the ground, with sunlight filtering through the trees. I saw "myself" run up and through the rails/wall. I felt free. I thought of how other dreams felt like this. --- Notes: - Fell asleep while I was in front of the computer, supposedly to finish watching Week 3 of Game Theory. - I was supposed to eat lunch outside and buy groceries. - No alarm, no meditation audio - I just fell asleep. It was noontime. - I think I slept for 1.5 hours.

#409 - DIELD - 6:06AM I have a long and confusing dream about sleeping at my parents old house. The time keeps changing and I worry about getting up for work on time. The early details aren't important, but my parents eventually tell me they are leaving to go to a tomato festival. They leave my room and I lay there for a moment. Suddenly, I hear a terrible scream and cats fighting. I rush to the top of the stairs and see my cats running out of a bedroom at the bottom with tails fluffed out. I wake slightly and relax back into the dream. I am the stairs again and I go down to the room at the bottom. It's dark in there and I feel like something evil is hiding in the room. I spend some time calling out whatever monster may be lurking with various forms of profanity, but nothing happens. Then, I fearfully reach into the room and try the light switch, but, of course, that doesn't work either. I decide this is all stupid and leave out the back door. As I step out, the cats rush past me into the yard. This makes me worry that something is following me so I turn and walk backwards a while. Thankfully, nothing is there. The house seems extra dark now that I am standing in full sunlight and I turn to have a look at the dream environment. The colors of the trees are a extra vivid and bright green, but also very dream like and blurry at the edges of my vision. I feel awe and peace and this makes me want to fly up into the sky. Before I can do anything else, I suddenly wake without warning.
January 29, 2015 Back to Romania!! I was one of three siblings from Romania. While we lived in Romania, there were lots of adventures, mainly running away from this flying monster that was always after us. I'm not sure that we were human; in fact I think we were some medium-sized rodent-thing. After running away from this big flying monster (we were swinging through huge trees that were much more like a jungle than Romania, but whatever) we ended up going through a magical portal which landed us in the field behind my house back home. I got separated from my two siblings, and while looking for them, I found out that the Power Puff Girls lived there. And they wanted to eat us. Well, Bubbles and Buttercup wanted to eat us. Blossom thought it was wrong to eat animals (she must have been a vegetarian). Anyways, Buttercup and Bubbles had laid a series of traps for my siblings and I. One of them was at the little trolley line running from the shed to a large tree. There was another wire running along the ground there, and if we tripped it, we'd explode or catch on fire, or something. The other thing they did... was use our call. We used a call back in Romania to make sure we were all safe (kinda like what Rue and Katniss did in the Hunger Games, but the tune was the one my mentor teacher uses to call the kids to attention). It was so strong in us to reply when that call was made, that when Buttercup made the call, I yelled, "THAT'S NOT FAIR. THAT'S ABUSING THE POWER OF THE CALL." And I came out from hiding. My siblings had also heard the call and were with me then. And so we had to fight the Power Puff Girls. I don't remember specifics about the battle, but we beat them somehow. I remember something about using the trampoline that used to be in the yard against them, maybe we took the net off and trapped them in it? Anyways, after we beat them, there was a tall, skinny man in black who was also from Romania. He had falling into the same portal, and didn't know how to get back. He came out with a huge gun, and was going to catch us, because Bubbles and Buttercup had promised him they'd get him back home if he helped them get us. I convinced him to help us instead, so we could all go back home together. He said I had a good idea, and I replied, "Dude I know I have great ideas, now LET'S GO." I assume we all got back safely. I vaguely remember flying above my house, maybe the portal back to Romania was in the air? Fragment: Class I was teaching a small, extra class and one of my students was there, and her mom, too. Odd Way To Fly... I was learning to fly with this weird contraption where if you blew through a tube, you went up, and if you pinched the tube, you went down. I was in a sort of game with my brothers and a few others (I think Zukin was there), and we were seeing how high up we could go. Everyone was afraid of losing oxygen, but I was like, "screw it, I can't get hurt!" and kept blowing through the tube until I hit a barrier of sorts really, really high up. I think I had a suuuuper low level of lucidity, because I was confident that I wouldn't die even if there was no air. I was so high up that the others flying around looked like ants, I could barely see them. When I looked at the land, it was a little bit like in Minecraft when you fly super high in creative mode, where it's just this big square of landscape. I also remember going through phases of different colored atmospheres, like the sky above me would change color until it was white, when I hit the barrier. I flew back down and reported that there was a barrier before you'd run out of air. Evil Overlord Waterbender I was playing a survival game of sorts on a deserted island. There were two teams of three people each. My team had decided to set up our home base right on the beach. We had built up a foundation for our house with large square rocks (almost Minecraft-y) and used straw and bark and newspapers and magazines to build up a more comfortable floor and walls. I had become the leader of my group (though I'd like to think it was through honest means, I think I was more of a tyrannical dictator). There was a sort of refreshment store right next to our house. They sold a drink called Grape Rape (How could you, subC, HOW COULD YOU) and another, alcoholic drink, called Rum Running. Apparently it was enough rum to keep you drunk until you drove all the way across the state. Like you were supposed to buy it, drink it all, and then drive across the state. IT was like the House Special Challenge, or something. If you made it there in one piece, you got another, apparently. Anyways. The opposing team tried to cut off our access to the water by blocking off the spot where we were going to put a dock, so that we would have to make some sort of deal with them. But I was like hahaha FUCK NO, and went all waterbender on them or something. I raised my arms and the water started to rise from the shore and move out into the ocean. The way the water flowed out was really trippy and hard to describe. It was strait and dramatic, then moved out with 90-degree angles and whatnot. It rose three levels, and then the guy ran away. I threw a huge boulder out into the water, where the guy had been in a boat (as if it weighed nothing) and then tossed out a suspension-bridge-like set of planks that automatically connected to the boulder, creating the dock we had desired. The water had lowered again, but when it rose, the walls of our house got torn down, and all that was left now was the floor made of newspapers and magazines. It was strange, they were like rolled up and filled in the space, so it was lumpy. I was laughing maniacally and gathered my two underlings and we just laid out on the magazines and fell asleep.
I walk through a portal that takes me up to this stone island floating in the air. Mostly it's this pillar of rough stone but the top, where I'm standing, is level. I walk around the tree in the center and through a second portal - this one takes me back down to the surface, just a few feet away from where I started. Superficially, it doesn't really seem like I'm doing anything aside from walking around - but the act of someone passing through the portals in sequence is leaving a mark, setting something up. I think of stitching a thread through fabric. To get to the next portal I have to swim across a river. As I'm swimming, I think briefly about growing gills and just walking across the bottom, it might have been more pleasant. I decide to stick with what I've got. The next portal takes me to an almost identical stone island, except this time there are five portals up here. I step through the first one, and it takes me only a few feet away, in front of the next portal. I'm exasperated by this setup, but I go with it, passing through each portal in sequence. But before I step through the last portal that should take me back to the surface, I step to the edge of the rock and look down, curious about where I am exactly. Far below, I can see a mountain range. There are two rows cut into the side of the mountain, one on top of the other, with closely-spaced openings for doorways carved into the side of the rock. There are rooms inside - I walked along those paths on my way here. I remember looking up and seeing these two floating islands, and wondering how to get up there. But something occurs to me - I look around for the other floating island, the one I was on just before, and confirm it. Yes - it's still floating upside-down, with the flat surface and the tree on the bottom instead of the top, like an Escher sketch. When I was standing over there, I must have also been standing upside down, at least relative to here. I feel dizzy.

im in my house talking with a friend of mine and I was telling her about the dream I had in my last cycle and how even though a dream character had told me I was dreaming and there were all these signs telling me it was a dream i still failed to notice I was dreaming. at that point I remembered to do a check and the person I was talking to lived in Pittsburgh so I knew I was dreaming. I went out my front door to check further and it was grey and wet outside. I took notice to how real everything looked and how it was basically the same as it would be in waking reality but then I noticed these purple flowers on the hill that I only get in the spring. the DC was following me around I feel to make sure I was noticing I was dreaming and I told her I was good now since I was lucid and I told her to leave me and thanked her. I then remembered my intention to meet with this Ent I met in a dream the night before so I called out loud and I could hear my voice travel far distances through the trees on my road. I then heard a lord of the rings type horn that I knew was coming from the Ent. I ran down the road towards where I thought I heard it. I go down the road and called again and I heard it closer and looked where I thought it was. I see a tree move among the others and run to it. it was the Ent and I told him to take me to where we were going before and he spreads wings and flies away. I figured he wanted me to follow him but I wasn't feeling confidence with my flying skills ATM. I climb this rock face behind a house to see where he was and once I get to the top I see him perched on a floating platform. he looks like an ancient bird now and he reaches out his tail which was purple and bluish. I grab hold and he lifts me up and we begin to fly. once we gain some altitude I see a giant drum set with a lot more symbols then the one I have and I was thinking how I would like to play it sometime. as we fly the bird does all kinds of acrobatic maneuvers. I was thinking how I would eventually be able to do all these flying techniques once I learned more. my hearts starts racing partially from some fear and the thrill and I wake with the feeling of still holding onto the bird.
Pulling trees out of the ground, I magically turn them into boards and make a huge pile of them several hundred feet behind me. I plan to build a bunch of things, so I need lots of them. Still leaving some trees in the forest, I quickly gather more than I need just in case I get carried away with construction. Just moving my awareness around, I don't have a visible body, but still manage to physically interact with the world, and rip trees out of the ground just fine. It's easy to float to and fro as I do this.
#388 - DILD/DEILD - 6:46AM I am entering a house with a young and mildly attractive woman. She is being flirty but I ignore this. She's talking about how she goes running to negate the bad effects of smoking. I tell her that this is really pointless, but she assures me that 10 miles a day is more than enough. I remain unconvinced but I let it go. She tells me that she wants me to go jogging with her but I tell her that it would look bad if we are seen together. I sit on a couch in the living and she sprawls across a love seat adjacent to me. I notice she's removed most of her clothes and I can see she has grown much fatter with stretch marks and varicose veins all over her body. I notice she has a pretty face and think how its too bad the rest of her looks so horrible. As I sit I quiet my mind and look around. I can see her family at a dinning table beyond with woman on the love seat. Something looks odd. It's took blurry. I can't make out the faces. This is a dream. No. I'm just pretending. This is real life. I continue to stare at the family. They look so odd and motionless. Wait... No this might really be a dream. I worry that the dream will crash if I do anything, but I decide to go ahead and do a nose plug to settle my internal debate. I blow cleaning through. The dream crashes. I knew it! I wake up and move a bit but quickly decide to hold still for DEILD. I focus on deeply relaxing my body and body awareness. I realize that I feel like I am being dragged like someone is pulling me by my though it doesn't feel like anyone has a hold of me. As soon as I note this the sensation stops. I focus on feeling it again and it starts back up. It slow at first but quickly accelerates to high speed. I feel G-forces in my stomach and gasp. I notice that I am feeling very faint vibrations like tingles in my arms and decide that It's probably safe to move. When I pick up my left arm the dragging stops and I open my dream eyes. It's very sunny in the room and as I get up, I watch my feet move to the floor like I am looking at a foot cam. I am in a very tiny version of my bedroom with no door to exit. There is only a night stand and a window. I see the window but think it would be funner to phase through the wall. I haven't done this in a while and I very sloppily try to push my face through. It feels like rubber so I try to claw and tear through. Unfortunately, as I struggle with this I am sucked back to my body in bed. I hold still and wait and quickly see a scene form. I am laying in a sunny spot with trees around me. The green leaves look extremely vivid but when I try to move the scene crashes. I decide to focus and wait for another scene but quickly lose lucidity. I recall some short and random scenes before waking up. I tell Wurlman about getting lucid. The woman from earlier pulls her pants down and shows me her ass. All those veins. I turn away. Other images that I can't recall.
