    1. Fighting vampires in the parking lot of doom

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

In a previous par of the dream I can barely remember I had kicked some vampire butt alongside J. J and I then saw an infectee down the street and we deduced that the vampires were infecting people again. We cured here with magic and located a large subterranean parking lot where they were having meetings. There were two vampire girls guarding the entrance. One went away (I think we scared her) and the other one led us to a group of three vampires. I told her to go away and we started fighting.

      Fragment:

I was on another relic hunt. This time, I was partnered up with some, really douchey 'hero.' He was a celebrity, or something, and was just so full of himself that I had to constantly restrain myself from choking the shit out of him. We were searching for precious stones and ancient jewelry, scouring through dark caves and tombs and whatnot. After all of our journeying, when we were finally able to find the treasure that we were looking for, he started acting like he was too good to even help carry any of it; saying something about how they were "just stones" and they were beneath him. I seriously just wanted to slap him.

      12/20/2010
      Fragment One (Lucid):

(Damnit. I completely lost a lucid dream, last night. And from what I can remember, it was a pretty good one.)
I remember walking around at night, having just realized I was dreaming. I believe I was in an apartment complex, walking down the sidewalk, with patches of grass all around. There was a little light around - kind of blue-ish, but too bright to be moonlight - and my shadow was being cast, on the large white wall of buildings, to my left. Fortunately, I do remember looking at my hands, to stabilze the dream, which I've been trying to get back into the habit of doing. I tried to think of something to do, but I couldn't remember what the tasks of the month were, and I eventually recalled WakingNomad's RPG, and my Djinn character (which is another good thing, because we had just recently talked about it, and I was able to immediately think about it, upon becoming lucid - which is sometimes rare for me). While continuing to walk, I just inhaled, clenched my fists, and felt a surge of energy swell within me. Looking at the large shadow of myself, upon the wall, I could see that I now had the wild hair of my character, and even though I don't remember looking down, but I could tell that I was no longer wearing my shirt. Having this new sense of power, being back into the body of my Djinn, I lept into the air and went flying, searching for something to do.

There is a lot, around here, that I don't remember. The dream was very long, and had something to do with mutant vampire things... I can hardly even remember what they looked like - only that they were ugly. At least one of them were being held in some kind of wooden structure, down at the base of what I believe was a flight of stairs. I know that I interacted or had a conversation with one or more of them, but don't really remember a damn thing, other than that I was lucid. I do, specifically, remember reminding myself to go back over the events of the dream, so that they would be easier to recall, when I woke up.

(I vaguely remember waking up, in the middle of the night, and being too tired to get out of bed, to write my notes down. It's just an obscure blur of a notion, but I'm pretty sure it happened.)

      Fragment Two:
Something about my mom having brought home food, after I'd just eaten something that I didn't really enjoy. She said something about if I wasn't going to eat it now, I couldn't have any of it later. So, not really all that hungry anymore, I still ate whatever of it I could.

    3. 11/17/2010 - "Blood in the Water"

      "Blood in the Water"

I was in a sunlit cove, but deep within the hull of an enormous, old ship. Also on the ship was a coven of vampires, and I vaguely remember a small number of lycans, but I'm not 100%. MJ was with me, along with a few other unfortunate humans, and we were being held in the ships bowels. Apparently, I and a few others were going to be turned, against our will. MJ and the rest were going to be completely drained, and/or eaten. This coven consisted of dozens upon dozens of vampires on board, and only a handful of us. We knew we had no chance of escape, but we were going to fight like Hell.

...It wasn't really much of a fight.

There was a long sequence of watching the vampires just rip through our numbers, brutally tearing humans limb from limb and gorging themselves on the seemingly gallons of blood that soaked the chambers and hallways. People screamed and ran for their lives. The sounds of a slaughter filled the entire vessel. I don't remember what it was, but a few of us - the last alive - figured out a way to blow up the ship. It was something of a suicide mission, but it was the only possible thing to do.

I remember the explosion. The ship's hull had been completely sealed from the sunlight, for obvious reasons. But when the ship exploded, nearly killing me and - as far as I could tell - the other survivors, all of that sunlight was unobstructed. It flowed into the void that used to be an enormous ship, while the ship, itself, was literally blown to pieces. Most of the vampires were instantly obliterated. I was thrown into the water, and remember beginning to sink. I swam toward the surface, as fast as I could, but I kept feeling someone grabbing at me, frantically, from below. It was a vampire, and there were more of them surrounding me. I paddled for the surface with my arms in a panic, kicking my feet - more to keep the pursuing hands from getting a grip, than trying to actually go upward. Luckily, when I got to the surface, I was floating in a bath of sunlight. The vampire completely stopped giving chase. Not a single one of them could swim those last few feet, to reach me. Looking down at the vampires, with my head still underwater, was an amazing sight (though creepy as all shit). The top section of the water was a layer of orange from the sun, and it just got progressively darker blue, beneath. And there were those creatures; just staring at me, descending into the darkness because they couldn't come any further. (It sticks out in my head as the most distinct visual of the dream. I may draw it, one of these days. Here is a photo manipulation, for now. )

On the surface, rescued by a blistering sun, I slung my arms over a piece of debris - exhausted. Incredibly, I had no fear of the vampires being able to reach me, and I completely relaxed, with the lower half of my body still hanging in the water. I looked around and saw no one. There was nothing but wooden planks scattered around me; remnants of the great ship, which was probably still sinking beneath me. I was sure I was the last one to make it out, though I was not surprised, since there weren't many of us left, in the beginning of the end. But I was wrong. I finally spotted another figure in the debris, hanging on for her life, just as I was. It was MJ. She and I were the only ones that had made it out alive.

I swam over to her and we just allowed ourselves to float with the current, for a moment. By this time - seemingly out of nowhere - there were other people in the cove, large boats just floating passed and around us. One would have guessed that the massive explosion had never happened, if not for the large piece of wood we were floating on. We tried to wave people over, to pick us up, but all of the boats just traveled on by, as if they didn't see us. We could see that the driver of one of the larger boats was a man with a shotgun. We called out to him to let us aboard, but he just glared at us as his boat hummed passed, not saying a word. Finally, though, we made it back to land, on our own. The atmosphere seemed to have changed again, and this was now just a massive party; people dancing and drinking in the, quite beautiful surroundings of rock and water. Instantly, our spirits were lifted. We got to partying our asses off, with the unspoken understanding that some serious 'We fucking survived!' sex was in order.

Woke up before we got that far, though.

    4. #152. Vampires & Unicorns

by , 09-23-2010 at 05:06 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
Actors are running amok in my dreeeeaaaaams.

      09/21/10

Don't leave your distractions up to me. Things will get dark.

I'm leaning over the stone railing of the balcony, stretched out under afternoon sunlight. The balcony overlooks the city below, with its clay tile rooftops and climbing ivy. This place is teeming with life, and I allow myself to bask in its positive energy. Looking at the roads below, I can see -

      Wait.

"Is that guy riding a unicorn?" I ask.

The soldier standing next to me, dressed in forest green camo, puts a hand above his eyes and squints. "Oh, yeah. That's the pizza guy."

"The pizza guy." I repeat flatly. "Of course."

The pizza guy has convinced his unicorn to go up a flight of steps. As he turns the corner, I see his face. I bury my head in my hands.

I appear outside next to him. "Really, Misha?" I say, "You know what'll happen if they catch you?"

      He says something.

I shake my head. "The stage is set." I make a grand gesture with a sweep of my arm. "Your distraction is ready."

How many pizzas would you need to feed a platoon of soldiers, anyway?

      Vampires.

The girl looks maybe thirteen years old. She's quiet and sullen, and thirty vampires are following her through the darkness.

She didn't mean to turn them. Well, not all of them. As their sire, she's responsible for them, and needs to keep them under control.

I really need to kill a few, she thinks.

      She keeps three.

"Rosie," she says, "It doesn't have to be this way." She's staring at the animated corpse of her friend. She turned Rosie into a vampire to save her life.

Rosie laughs, trapped as she is within the circle. Still grinning, she'll speak the words that will damn her friend forever.

      Flashback.

This is the girl vampire's past. She's still human, up in the building that I just left, protected by a platoon of pizza-ordering soldiers in forest green.

The soldiers are all dead, attacked by vampires. The girl is injured, bleeding. There is one soldier left, a recurring character. He turns around to reassure her, tell her they'll be all right. He lowers his weapon.

"Look," I say gleefully. "You can see the precise moment that she turns."

She's a vampire now. She kills the soldier.

I stand on a narrow walkway, facing off against the creature I've been hunting. It's been hiding among the humans, wearing the face of a beautiful redhead. Right now, she's snarling, defensive, and her fangs are in full view. The Doctor, meanwhile, is hovering over my shoulder, looking like he might intervene.

I'm distracted for just a moment, and the vampire turns her back and jumps off the landing.

I glance back at him. Wordlessly, we agree on a course of action. The Doctor moves away from the edge, goes back into the main building to save the day.

I survey the area, quickly. It's a six-story drop, at least. It dimly registers that I'm dreaming, and before I can change my mind, I'm jumping after her.

The ground rushes up to meet me. I hit the tile floor, narrowly missing a set of wooden pews. I look around, noting that I'm in the sanctuary of a large church.

      End recall.

      Eight (Non-lucid)
      ★★★☆☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

The aerial surveillance camera pans quickly and zooms in, tracking the movement of eight military transport jeeps as they blaze through the pine forest, kicking up light brown dirt into the air behind them.

"Eight?!" says a voice. Was it my own? "There are supposed to be nine. . . You don't think he. . ."

The boy, Achilles, stood before us, as his men removed the dark burlap bags from our heads. He begins talking gently to us, still trying to win us over, but the feigned kindness quickly turns into malicious indignation as he remarks on what all of us have already noticed.

There are only eight of us.

What happened to Crazy Tom? Abandoned? Left for dead? That's certainly what this scumbag wants us to believe. . .

I have to know the truth. So, when Achilles finally finishes his tirade and turns to leave, I make my move. Toggling Super Jump I leap into the air, higher and faster every second. Still airborne, 150' up, I turn myself back from whence we came and start the search for our comrade at arms.

Traveling at speeds in excess of 200MPH tends to get you places quickly. Soon enough, I spot an opening in the trees. I know this is where I'll find Tom. More than that, I know Achilles set a trap here. Still, that's not going to stop me.

Setting down, I immediately spot the remains of a crashed and burnt jeep, but upon further inspection I fail to find any corpses. Determined to locate some kind of evidence, I venture further into the forest, which quickly turns to swampland.

A woman's laughter echoes behind me. Could this be the trap? I ponder as I whip around toward the source of the surreal sound. There, in the pale moonlight, amidst the moss covered trees was indeed a woman, and she wanted me to follow her.

She takes me to a thin veil of vines under a large fallen tree that has created a natural archway. Beyond the green mess I can see movement and activity. It doesn't take my curiosity long to get the better of me after the woman passes through the gateway. Cautiously, I make the plunge.

The dark swamp is now a resort, with people everywhere, lounging about and in the many clear watered pools. Something is off. A sinister presence becomes apparent as several of the 'guests' and the woman from before slowly circle around me, moving ever closer.

Shaking my pitchfork at them, I shout, "What have you done with him! Where's Crazy To--" Lethargy strikes me as I feel a sharp prick on my neck. The swamp-woman is biting me, and there's nothing I can do about it. I feel drained, helpless, but it doesn't hurt. . . No. . it actually. . . feels kinda. . . go--NO! With a burst of will, I right myself and try to shake her off, but the other guests take their bites, too. . . latching onto my flesh. . . I really am helpless. . . aren't I. . ?

No. . . My struggle is weaker this time, and last only a moment. The power they have over me is remarkable. Most of me wants to give in and enjoy my demise, and the part that wants to fight, to live, is quickly fading. . .

      I die, willingly.

A bunch of frags last night because I didn't sleep well. I'm surprised I even recalled anything at all. Watched True Blood and that influenced many aspects of my dreams.

      Fragment #1

I'm in a car, sitting there waiting for someone. An older man is with me. I know who he is in the dream, but waking, I can't remember. Dom's character from Inception opens the car door and sits down in the driver seat. I scoot over (somehow we can fit all of us in the front seats) Dom tells me to start cleaning up the car, how could I get it so dirty? I begin to clean it with the older man giving me helpful advice on what to use, and how to clean. There was more, but I can't remember.

      Fragment #2

I'm a knight, and I'm searching these tents for survivors. A child calls out for help, a little creepily, but I go anyway. Two children are there, a blond girl and a boy. They peek from their hiding place and tell me to come into the tent. I already know what they are. Vampires. They want me to come in the shade so they can feed. I feel bad when I go in, pretend to be stupid so they attack. I drag the girl out into the sun, but I forget what happened to the boy.

      Fragment #3

It's winter, and I'm taking pictures of these strange peacock/eagles that have landed on this dock. It's red with gray underfeathers. Another comes, black one, and tries to hurt the first. I throw snowballs at it, stunning it and making it fly away. A second one tries to hurt the first and I hurl a big ice ball at it. It slumps over dead, then turns into a man. The red bird shapeshifts into a man and says not to worry, the others were evil.

There was more to this dream, but I can't recall.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Dream: Tearing it Down
      ★★★☆☆
There has been a recent strand of some kind of white powdery substance circulating the streets. People who take it are usually never heard from again. As it turns out, this stuff makes anyone into a demi-vampire whose uncontrollable transformation turns the unfortunate soul into a young girl (age ranging from the late teens to early twenties).

After unwillingly becoming one of these beings, I partake in some shenanigans whilst transformed, seducing an 'important' person in my old church, only revealing my true intent once I had gotten him into his car. He ran screaming, to my delight.

Afterwards, I'm conscripted by two true vampires and a small band of demis who reveal to me, along a tropical stone beach, the source of the white powder. Lining the ocean-side, as far as the eye can see, are oil-rig-like structures pounding the ground into a fine, magic dust and releasing pillars of smoky pollutants into the atmosphere.

We destroy everything, sparing no one.

Lucid Dream: Taking a Bite Out of Crime
      ★★★☆☆
      Ridiculous people are being ridiculous.

Their ridiculousity triggers my lucidity, but everything is super hazy. I stabilize by grabbing something extra weird and purpley and then chomping down on it with mine mouth teeths. The rush of sensations is enough to pull me into the dream, and solidify my control.

I'm outside on a town street. Various shops and other places of interest frame the sidewalk. Some cars pass by on the intersecting street up ahead, but the few cars on this street, including one puke-green PT Cruiser, are parked in a parallel fashion.

Naiya shows up out of nowhere and we immediately stop a criminal using basic dream powers like TK, or something. After that, we hang out for a bit before I let myself wake up.

Really wish I could remember more of this one. =/

Fragments: Do You Remember That One Time At Band Camp?
      ★☆☆☆☆
Several fragments of me seeing Naiya in what I believed to be RL, and asking her about the dream from before, go here.

      Dream: Into the Stratos!
      ★★★★☆
I have the pleasure of being pre-Shippuden Naruto and joining all the needless drama going on with Sakura. She gets upset and runs off, just before some bad dude comes and stops the squad from leaving. Sosuke tries to leave by fighting his way out, but gets put in his place quite handily.

Switching perspectives, I'm now myself, hanging out in tall grass for gods know what reason. But no matter, it's time. . .

Teleporting to the meeting location, I find Sakura standing there, wiping her face. I ask if she's ready to go; she nods. Taking her arm, I teleport to the next target. The kid--he couldn't be older than ten--sees me and waves. I motion to him and we all begin to run toward the ship. By now, they'd be looking for us.

Time was short, so I decided we needed to move faster. And what's faster than teleportation? Pulling the three of us together, I instantly transport everyone to my space cruiser. We get inside, I take the controls, and we take off.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of trouble getting the damn thing out of the atmosphere. I waste a lot of fuel, and burn out most of the ships engines, before switching to auto-pilot. At that point, I have to actually fuel the ship with my lifeforce in order to keep us all from plummeting to our deaths.

Now well on our way, but with me on the verge of death, Sakura is kind enough to transfer some of her life energy in order to keep me alive. But not until I ask nicely.

      Dream: Adventure Time!
      ★★☆☆☆
Flying over Africa, I can't wait to explore the vast and exotic stretches of water below me. There were small basins, large bayous, medium sized lakes. So many environments to adventure through!

      And adventure I did.

      Dream: Beached
      ★☆☆☆☆
Hanging out in front of the beach-front property me and my friends were planning to stay at, I wait for them to show up. . .

      Still waiting. . . . .

      Vampires Trying to Kill Me

Occasionally I have dreams where I'm being chased and someone's out to get me. I never know in my dream who it is, just that they're after me. So I'm in this house that's like three stories high. I remember I keep trying to get out of the windows to get on the roof. In other dreams, once I'd get to the roof of a house, I'd usually fly places, non-lucid. I open the window, push out the screen and crawl out the window. Then it's like groundhog day and I'm back in the house again looking for another window to get out of. I think I managed to get out of all the windows in the house at least once each. I turned around at one point and a vampire was trying to pull me back into the window. Makes sense. Andrea has been reading the Twilight series, so I suppose vamps have been on my mind.

    10. Dream of June 15th, 2010

      by , 06-16-2010 at 12:15 AM
This isn't actually where my dream started, but I can't quite remember how it did. All I know is that I had been in a forest.

After walking through the forest for a while I came to a marsh. I was traveling with two other people but I can't quite remember their appearances, but I think both of them or one of them was part animal. We found a tiny house in this marsh and decided to go in it. The inside of the house was made of wood and it looked old and abandoned. Moss was growing in some areas of the house and the floorboards were wet and rotting. We decided that we wanted to live in this house.

After deciding to stay we start house cleaning. One of my friends looks in the sink of the cabin. We then decide that we are going to wash laundry, but we didn’t seem quite serious about it. It was almost like we were playing make believe. The one that had looked in the sink now puts clothes in it and starts washing them in the water that was already there, which is dirty and stinky. They then say that my clothes smell, which are the clothes they’re washing (they also happened to be the pajamas I went to sleep in). We all laugh at their comment, perhaps because they were washing them in dirty water. After that I started washing clothes in a basin in the living room (btw we weren’t using washing boards), and then I started washing a doll’s dress in the water on the floor, which covered the living room floor and was fairly deep. When I dragged the dress through the water it puffed dirt and algae.

After doing laundry for a bit I decided to find out more about the house. My view changed so that I could see the outside of the house. It then seemed as if I had clicked something so that a window came down with stats on the house. One of the things that it said was that vampires were supposed to live in this house (o__o) and the name of the house started with a ‘P’. Since I don’t like vampires and I was worried that some would come, I left the house.

I can’t really remember actually walking to the next place, I more like just appeared. Now I and my friends were at a different house on a deck. There was my dog’s doggy pool on the deck and we washed laundry in it.

After appearing at that other house and goofing off there I appeared at a different place and my friends were no longer with me. I was now on a cliff on a path with widely placed white stones. The dream felt a lot more like a video game now and as I walked down the path enemies appeared. They looked like they were part dog and deer but with no fur, white skin, and they stood on their hind legs. I fought them and killed them easily, but while I fought them I didn’t really feel anything, it was more like I was watching myself do it. I continued walking down the white path until I came to an open area. I continued to fight monsters in the new area I was in, but while I was fighting I was backstabbed by a woman.

When I woke up again I was in a small room with brown walls and a concrete floor and it was filled with boxes and other storage containers. I got up too look around but the lady noticed that I had gotten up and killed me again, or at least tried to. After she tried to kill me she left. I sat there for a while after she had hit me over the head but then I got bored and went to explore the house. I started to walk down the hallway but one of the servants noticed me. The servant looked part bat, for he was covered in brown fur and he had large pointy ears on his head. At first the servant was going to try to kill me too but I told him that he wouldn’t be able to kill me since the lady had already “killed” me before and I appeared to be fine, so instead of killing me he just asked me to leave, but then kind of forced me a bit to go back into the room I was in previously. Once I was in the room he went out the door and then to the kitchen. I watched him as he walked there through the doorway, and once he was out of sight, I followed.

I feel a steady pull somewhere, like I'm being summoned. Images of an immense stone cavern, alive with a bright blue energy.

I seem to be on a road trip with my family. We get mixed up with the local vampires, and I have half of the population out to kill me. I'm standing in a hotel room with off-white walls and a duvet on the bed, talking to a woman with short blonde hair. She's an important figure to the vampires, and she's giving me information that might help me survive. We're planning something.

Memory of a red metal door and what might be a gymnasium. Being chased by the vampires, slamming the door into the face/arm of one of them as I run outside. It's daylight, but I'm not sure if that bothers them. Outside a brick building, patches of green grass growing weed-like in the gravel.

Space dream. Mentions of Kyle Katarn. I'm in a ship, dark metal interior. A DC thinks he's intimidating, but I don't feel the least bit threatened. Semi-lucid, I'm thinking about writing things down later. Sex dream.

Weird FA. I still feel half-stuck in the dreamworld, but not immersed in it. I think about waiting at the Twin Towers that Walms mentioned as a possible meeting place, pull up an image of what used to be there. I'm standing on top of the north tower, beside the antenna. I think about the Task of the Month, jumping off a skyscraper. I watch my dream avatar jump from the building and land on her feet, as if I'm watching a video clip. The scale is all wrong; the DA is too tall in comparison to the building beside her.

I'm Neal Caffrey from White Collar, helping to catch people. The dream-plot is nonsensical, and my surroundings are wavy coloured lines over white. I talk to Peter Burke about the people we caught by running into them with more wavy coloured lines that might have been a car.

"OMFG A CAT!" I shout, pointing. A cat walks along the driveway. I have no idea what context could turn this into a momentous event. Maybe all the animals are dead?

    12. #46. I Am Legend

by , 06-14-2010 at 06:43 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
We're driving down the highway in a tan-coloured Oldsmobile. The driver seems to think the speed limit is optional, which really wouldn't bother me, only he doesn't actually have his license yet. Also, he doesn't seem to be in control of the vehicle, if the wildly oscillating steering wheel is anything to go by.

"Whoa! Whoa!" I shout from the backseat. "Oncoming train, ONCOMING TRAIN!"

"Ben, stop," says my mom from the passenger seat.

Ben reluctantly brings the car to a stop before we get to the train tracks. I breathe out a sigh of relief and glare at my brother.

"You know," says the fifteen-year-old comfortably, "Sam could totally supervise my driving -"

"NO!" My mom and I say simultaneously.

Ben slouches in his seat and gets the car moving again, now that the train's past. The car gradually speeds up, and he throws my mom a look that reads See? I can totally drive without giving Sam a heart attack.

A copse of trees blocks the road a little bit farther along. It's night. We need to hike through the trees in order to get to the road on the other side.

We're not a few steps in before I can feel a tingling feeling up my spine. I sense a malicious intent, which lingers, as if the blood that's been spilled here has never properly washed away.

"We should hurry," I say quietly. "This isn't a good place." I should know, this is my dream after all. Vaguely, I wonder if this is going to turn into a nightmare. If it is, am I sensing evil, or creating it?

There are men sleeping, haphazardly strewn over the grass-covered ground in various garishly coloured sleeping bags. I hurry Mom and Ben along, out of the campsite through a path in the bushes. I know it the moment the men wake up.

"Go! Go! I'll meet you at the car!" I shout at my family. Somewhere between eight and a dozen men come rushing onto the path, heedless of my attempts to block them. I can't move, I can't shout, I'm completely helpless -

"KIYA!" I lace a high-pitched shout with all of my fear and anger, forcing the men's attention onto me. I move out into the middle of the clearing, still pulling their attention, focusing on the present rather than the danger that faces the others. I need to be able to move.

"KIYA!" I shout in challenge, feeling ridiculous, catching a third-person view of myself as Eliza Dushku.

A man runs at me, using his momentum - and considerable bulk - to ready a skull-crushing punch. I sidestep. He misses. I use his momentum against him, throwing him out of the way.

      It's on.

Another man rushes me. I catch him by the arm, twist, breaking it. I throw him over my shoulder and he crashes to the ground, where I aim a kick at his neck, killing him instantly.

Two come at me. I send one stumbling with a kick to the solar-plexus. He trips over the corpse and I disable the other one with a ridge-hand strike to the throat, crushing the windpipe. He collapses to the ground, gasping for air, and I'm already rushing a stunned thug, sweeping his legs out from under him. I pound three high-powered kicks into his left temple before he can blink.

A thug is picking himself up from beside his friend's corpse, looking enraged. I'm behind another one, hand across jaw, and I pull, breaking his neck. I don't see Trippy until he has a hand around my throat, lifting me until my toes barely brush over the ground. I twist, tearing - tiger claw - rigid fingers across his face, ripping into flesh. His grip slackens and I turn around to meet another attack, evading arms and deftly clawing an eye out of its socket. He's out of the fight.

One of the smarter ones is readying an incantation - I'm in front of him. I grab, twist, tear his arm off, leave him to bleed out.

Another. I aim a kick for his groin, surprised when I hit the inner thigh. Hard. Time slows for the others, and I admonish myself for losing focus. Concentrate on the dream. I pull my leg in, I lash out with a side-kick to the groin. He's down. I smash his head in.

I hear a dark chuckle from across the clearing. Trippy is struggling to his feet, one hand pressed against his bleeding face. He laughs. I want to know what's so funny.

"You think we're monsters." He laughs again, eyes closed for a moment.

He's down before he knew what hit him. I kick him repeatedly, into the gut, into the side of his head, until he's nothing but a mangled corpse leering at me with a dead grin.

I put down the others with brutal efficiency.

I meet Ben and Mom at the car, which happens to be a Chevy Impala. Not meeting their eyes, I mention that we're going to have to wipe down the car, inside and outside. Apparently it was used to run over people while I wasn't looking. I'll have to dispose of these clothes, too. They're black, so I can't see the blood-spatter, but I just murdered a bunch of unarmed humanoids, and there was blood spraying everywhere, so -

"I'll clean the car," says my brother.

I take a deep breath. "Yeah. We should go."

      ---

Some time later, I meet up with an alternate version of my mom, driving the Oldsmobile. We talk about the forest/campground, but she isn't entirely sure what I'm talking about. In her world, we kept driving right past the damned place.

I get to thinking about alternate endings...

      ---

They have Ben. My mom has disappeared, but they have Ben and he's a prisoner of these things and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

There's a young boy, maybe ten, being carried from some kind of ceremony, half naked. I have a bad feeling about this.

I take a breath, calm my mind. I can stay out of sight for now, wait for an opportunity to rescue him. I'm practically incorporeal right now; it's not like I could do much anyway. Although, I think, as I watch them drag my struggling brother out of sight, waiting could be easier said than done.

      ---

Colourful round wooden tables are interspersed throughout the clearing. I couldn't see the place before I followed Ben in. My brother is sitting at one of the tables, eating the same grilled cheese sandwiches as all the other humans. On his left is the vampire he's been bound to, and on his right, a human slave, eying the former nervously.

I get a bit of insight from the slave, who, apparently, was a member of the local Resistance before he was captured. He still hasn't quite lost the suicidal tendencies.

"You realize," he says to Ben, keeping his voice low so the vampire won't notice, "That these things are just using you, right? We need to fight them."

Ben snorts. "You're just saying that because they're planning to eat you."

Apparently they keep humans as cattle. Charming.

Also, Ben's been brainwashed. This could be a problem.

      ---

I'm watching the loading area, a gravel parking lot leading into the back doors of the complex. An Oldsmobile drives in. I move closer.

A group of three or four slaves is conversing with the driver. One of them was talking to Ben earlier. Kel, I think his name was. I recognize the leader of the group: Damon. Fanatic.

"What do you want with the Aur'i, Reader?" Damon asks, as my mom steps out of the car.

"Your masters have taken one of our own." Mom tells them coldly. "We want him back."

Fuck me. Readers' powers are the opposite of my own, divine while mine are hell-powered, and they're positively toxic to the Aur'i (vampires). They're more of an allergy, for me.

"The boy, yes?" says Damon, "What of the girl?"

      Ah, the Dushku persona.

"Not one of ours," Mom says, "She didn't violate the Accords by attacking you."

"A pity," says Damon. "I'll pass along your message to our Masters. You may leave now."

Ignoring the slight, Mom tips her head and goes back to the car.

Damn it. I've got to get her a message before she leaves. I take off along the side of the complex.

      ---

"Sokka Katara Sam!" Ben gasps, clutching his head. I hear him, glad that he's finally broken through the mind control.

      Lay low.

      ---

I break out into a full-on sprint, moving as quickly as I can around the back corner of the loading bay. When I stop, I hardly even notice that I'm not out of breath. I wave my arms at my mom, staying carefully out of the slaves' sight.

I gesture towards some scaffolding near my hiding spot, which should be hidden from any observers. My mom exits the car and heads toward the spot I indicated, and I slink along more carefully, hidden by the various construction materials along the way.

"You had to choose this spot?" asks my mom, visibly shivering.

I'm surprised, but I look more closely at the wall. There's warding magic emanating from it.

I smile sheepishly. "I can't feel it like you do." I tell her, "My power meshes with the place."

"We'll talk about it later." She pulls an iron chain out and throws one end to me.

I catch it. It feels like ice-water is crawling over my skin.

Covered by the protection of the chain, I explain the situation, highlighting the layout of the compound and detailing Ben's chain to the Aur'i. I'm so caught up in the story that I don't notice the patrolling slaves have noticed us. Noticed the chain, rather, since we're invisible.

"That is a forbidden magic here," says Damon, indicating the iron chain.

"Is it?" I ask, adopting a really bad light Jamaican accent. "It is looped through this equipment like a spider's web."

      "The reader," hisses Damon.

"You're Nomad?" asks Kel, indicating a nationality.

I glance back at Mom, but she's disappeared along with the car. Good.

I have an image of dark skin and bright colours. I take the appearance of the girl in my mind's eye and let the chain fall from my hand.

      I can work with this.

    13. Humans -for- vampires, apparently

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      13.06.2010

      Humans for Vampires, Apparently (Non-lucid)

      Fragments...

Spike (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) got stabbed in the stomach. I was crying and helping him along. We got to my sister's house, I banged on the door. When we went inside, there was Edward (from Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter) with a weapon concealed as some household item (like an umbrella). He's crouched down and looking antsy. He's not happy with me barging in.

Earlier...I walked up to Spike, and when he turned around I saw that he was all pale(r than normal) and looked sick. I joked to him that 'he was still attractive though'. He started burning/blistering in the sunlight, though it wasn't that bright and we were under the shadow of a roof thing. Maybe that's when I saw he had a stab wound?

'Oops, I Did it Again' by Britney Spears was playing in McDonalds at some point. What's the McDonald dreams???

We (me and ?) were chasing after a woman who'd apparently caused this. Think we saw her at an airport. She was a mix of anime and real life and it was curious who she seemed out of place,
and reminds me of Lum from Lum Invader (pictured above, only taller, older and deep green, shiny hair).

She/the enemy was sorry and sowed up Spike's wound in apology.

Notes: I don't actually find Spike attractive, so that remark was interesting. I haven't heard that song in forever either. And this is my second McDonalds dream...is it because of APH or is my subconscious is just craving Mickey D's? XP

      Raptors (Non-lucid)
      ★★★★☆
      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I wasn't going to write anything today, but I can recall bits and pieces of a pretty freaking cool dream. It was one of those dreaming of being lucid kinda deals. I don't think I realized I was dreaming once throughout the whole thing.

I'm in a parallel universe in which me, my Mzzkc persona, is, in actuality, a vampire. I'm in a group with some other vampires, a lot of people I know from college, it's like a fraternity of sorts. I'm accepted as a part it, however I am not truly one of them. As I become aware of this back story, as if by magic, we are tasked with taking apart a maze of piping, surrounding a small building, in order to obtain metal rods and free the girl trapped inside.

It is then that I realize I can fly. My flying makes quick work of the pipes and before I know it, we're on our way to God knows where. Some stuff happens, I'm still flying. My DCs don't like the fact that I am flying. Jeff makes a cameo when my brother needs help with a particular problem. I think it was adjusting to the dream world, or playing music, or something. They go off somewhere to do their thing. And now here I am, with a bunch of DCs, and I get the crazy idea I can start to make stuff happen. So, I summon a jaguar to attack all the people nearby. Lo and behold, it works! What fun!

Oh, wait, I think, I can summon Raptors, too! So, I summon a Raptor. It appears from behind the nearby fence and starts eating everyone that it can get ahold of. Sweet! More Raptors! As a torrent of Raptors starts to appear, one after the other, I fly up into the sky, away from harm.

Before I know it, Raptors are appearing by themselves. While I am aware of the moment each one comes into existence, I start to fear they will turn on me. Oops. They come at me, one after the other. I TK throw two of them away, but another one gets too close for comfort. I grab its head and direct it away from me. Then, using a method (it's a will based, attention shifting technique that I can't explain in words) I developed in previous LDs, I forced it and, subsequently, all other Raptors to leave me alone.

The dream progressed from there, I ended up in a large crowd of people I supposedly knew whom were celebrating something. They were trying to keep some object in the air as they walked into this large atrium. I spoiled their fun by setting up a sort of TK barrier that bounced the object up everytime it hit it. I thought I was helping.

I kept going by myself, and wound up in a small bedroom having a conversation with a girl in my scholarship program. After that, I went into the other room where Jeff and my bro were playing acoustic guitar and bass.

Another dream branched off of this one, but it wasn't quite as awesome. Unless, you consider my friend, CTB, buying Hasbro's Nerf division for $100,000, and appointing me as one of the Head Developers, awesome.

I think I finally figured out why DCs don't seem to like it when I display any kind of power in my dreams. >.>

    15. The Jacuzzis

      by , 09-09-1985 at 03:09 PM
Morning of September 9, 1985. Monday.

Watch out…for the horrible vampiric monster…the…Jacuzzi!

I have said before that I have had hardly any serious nightmares in my life. The more vivid one in my young adult years was during an early afternoon nap. This was the first version of a short series of dreams (only the first one being an actual nightmare), where the name was semi-lucidly altered to something like “Chalcosi” (from “chalcosis” - or chronic copper poisoning), relative to their skin having a paler copper-color when dying.

It was of a horrible legendary creature that supposedly only lived seven weeks. They liked to eat people. They were to blame for the majority of missing people cases. I somehow fell in love with a “teenage” (in appearance only) version of the vampiric creature who I spent time with on a couch in the middle of the night as the rest of her family went out to eat people. This creature was born as a dangerous albino snake with boa-constrictor-like potential. It then changed into a killer albino tree-dwelling rabbit that sometimes leaped upon people at night. It then becomes a larger lemur-like creature (still albino) - becoming more monkey-like in some ways, and eventually an albino human-like creature with somewhat shark-like teeth (and growing as such, a lost one always being replaced, but almost immediately). As they neared death, their skin became a slight coppery color. Their hair was always white. I guess sometimes they wore wigs and sunglasses to hide their true identity, as their eyes remained snake-like. They lived in groups of a dozen or so at various ages.

Of course, again, this horrifying creature was known as…

A Jacuzzi! Watch out for the Jacuzzis, they are coming to eat your neighbors!

I awoke from the first version of this in a strange hypnopompic state. I felt dizzy and out of place and was hearing applause and disembodied voices, including the impression of a cheerful announcer talking about someone winning a Jacuzzi on “The Price is Right” - this as I saw the faces of the creatures fading in disorienting spirals. It was only then, after I was waking, that I slowly remembered hearing the word “Jacuzzi” on “The Price is Right” (which I only caught parts of now and then at a sister’s house during this time). I looked it up and finally remembered that it was a fancy whirlpool bath and not a dangerous monster.

Updated on Tuesday, 28 June 2016: I can now look at this and easily recognize an unusual atypical and subliminal form of water induction (since “Jacuzzi” is a hot tub brand and in fact a whirlpool bathtub implies an essence of the Merkaba as a tornado does) and the strong metaphorical references to circadian rhythms (and even evolution). Albinos also symbolically represent moon induction (which is often linked to water induction relative to the symbolic “tidal” shifting of consciousness in dreaming and waking). Even more curiously, “Jacuzzi” rhymes with “Suzi”, the anglicized form of my wife Zsuzsanna’s first name, more relevant here as I have a relationship with this female Jacuzzi. The unlikely rabbit stage is a symbol for something emerging from the unconscious mind as a rabbit lives in a burrow and even this was a Source clue, as Zsuzsanna lived in Maryborough when we first made contact. Not only that, the age of the girl matched Zsuzsanna’s age from this time period - and to add to that even more curiously, she had a period where she drew vampire animals (and certainly not everyone has an interest as such). This is all very interesting and in fact, validates yet again that most dreams have precognitive layers of one form or another.
