    False Awakening

    1. Subway Terrorism and Two Fragments

by , 09-08-2010 at 01:25 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. I'm taking a trip with my college friends into New York City. We ride the subway, then get off and start to negotiate taxi prices to get to our next destination. There are 15 of us, and the lady at the counter just kind of laughs when we ask if we could get a decent rate. At this I snap, and pull out a sniper rifle. I order everyone to the roof, and they obey fearfully.

Everyone lines up along the ledge of the roof, while I take a fortified position near the back. I start sniping, one after another, and feel great sorrow when I catch one of my friends with a bullet. Soon the police arrive, but without proper backup, and I snipe several of them. I then notice a stunning woman in a white dress swinging her legs out of a nearby window. I put my scope on her, but then notice she too has a rifle. She smiles at me and starts shooting at the crowd. Eventually the police get a machine gun emplacement set up and start to pepper my position, and the concrete blocks that shield me start to give way.

I awaken into my dorm room at college, where I get up and breathe on a mirror. I start writing the salient points of the dream in my breath as my friends are playing Mario Party in the background on the N64. It's hard to get the words to stay (failed RC), but I feel satisfied at some point. I then real awaken, angry...

      2. I'm playing backgammon and discussing world issues with former president Bill Clinton.

      3. I go to a concert in Columbus Ohio where Avenged Sevenfold is doing an experimental set and recording it directly to Youtube.
    2. Fragments...

      by , 09-08-2010 at 12:52 PM (Ranbow Island - Otis's Dream Journal)
I had two dreams last night, but i only remember bits and pieces.

      1. I was on the floor of my younger brothers room. John Deer Green walls, cream carpet. His computer desk and bed were behind me, and his room was laid out the same way it was before i moved out. I sat up, and was able to look out his window, and noticed his room was very high up. My parents house was only ground, and i thought this was odd.
I woke up because of cats.
When i went back to sleep i was on the floor of my brother room again, I sat up once more, and this time there was a man on the ground, he looked rather small from this distance. The man threw something, and a voice behind my yelled "Cover!" I ducked, and an apple came through the window, began blinking violently, and then exploded. Then an orange came through the window, and did the same thing. I was trying to avoid them by rolling around on the ground, and one landed on me. I grabbed it, started to panic, but thought wait Fruit do not explode."
I woke up, and there was some traffic outside the house.
I was back on my brothers floor, there were strange toys everywhere and I sat up. The voice from earlier was behind me again so i turned around, and there was a man sitting at the foot of my brothers bed. He held this massive multiple CD case, and shook his head. "You'll never sell this for 800 dollars." he said. I became confused "What are you talking about?" i asked. He turned he case around to show me one of the dvd's missing out of the case. "You're missing the Zeddacus Zerrander collection." I remember tilding my head to the side and saying. "But i don't own any Legend of the seeker dvds"
The dream was done again, and i rolled over to look at my wife before closing my eyes.
Once again i was on the floor of my little brothers room. this time it was a Renaissance era battle field in a 14x12 bed room. Talk about crowded! I remember getting up to defend myself when i was run over but a balista from behind. I began cursing loudly, and thinking. "Who the fuck runs someone over with a Balista?!?!" The battle stops, and i find myself sitting at the edge of my brothers bed. There is a lady and a man in the bed, getting ready to sleep. The man in the bed says he's sorry for running me over but he was trying to get somewhere. I ignore him, and look at the floor. there is another man in a sleeping bag there. He starts talk, but i can't hear him. I don't remember if I jumped next, or fell, but i landed in the mans sleeping bag. I could barley move, so the man left, and let me fall asleep.

2.The second dream also took place at my parents house, outside in the yard i think. I don't remember much else but but I know after a bit i began to wonder why i was there. I don't remember anything else after i began to question.

i begin to think when i was waking up, they were fake. I forgot my reality checks :/
    3. At a camp/Another false awakening

      by , 09-08-2010 at 02:18 AM (Serenity's Silver Millennium)
      September 6, 2010

      At a camp - 4/5
I'm staying in some group cabins at a camp. Another lady comes into my room. She helps me clean up the garbages and some clothes-folding as we chat. She has a light British accent.

"I think the camp might be haunted," she says to me.

"Well, I heard that it was built over a native burial ground," I say. "That usually guarantees a haunting."

We leave the room and there's a party happening in the common area. It's now night time. I chat with my new friend some more, and I could've done all night, but we realized we should socialize with the other people too, so we promised to chat more later.

I saw a girl go outside to the deck, so I followed her out there. We both lounged on these deck chairs that could be manipulated like lazy-boy chairs. Another girl came out, and the three of us chatted. Then the other two brought out nail clippers and started working on their toenails huh I was a little put off by this, so I went back inside.

The next morning, I'm standing outside with a group. I'm looking at the gravel and I think, "What if this was a dream right now?" I immediately recognize the dreamy feeling and had a quiet "Oh!" moment. I stare at my hands (which looked normal) to ensure that the dream remained around me. I thought about finding Darren (I miss him), so when someone asked me my attention, I replied, "No, I'm going to stick around for a bit."

I walk back towards the cabins, and momentarily gazed out over the lake, mountains and trees. "I really want to fly out over that," I thought. "I want to find Darren though." Suddenly the dream faded out.

False awakening. I chained back in to the sounds of a stream. I then saw the stream and thought, "Oh cool, that worked out well!" Then it faded out again. I could still hear the stream, crickets and fishing lines in my head, but I couldn't get an image. I let it go, and chained into a new scene.

I was standing in a house. "Great, now let's try to find Darren," I thought. I realize I'm still wearing my pajamas, so I snap my fingers and change my clothes. I'm about to walk out through the front door when I see a guy just loitering, waiting. "That's unnerving," I thought. So I went through the house, out the back, and pushed off the ground to fly.

"Take me to Darren's house please!" I shouted and intentionally spun. The spinning kept going and went black and I wondered if I ruined the dream this way. When it stopped, I was still in the air, over a new community. Hmm.

Once again, sensing this was wasting my lucidity, I decided to find my old school and conjure up my brother. Unfortunately, my dream wouldn't let me come down (it was like I kept catching air pockets) and I woke for real.

Decided, upon awakening, that perhaps I should be asking Danny for his help in finding people. He's the only one I can ask for that appears.

      Another false awakening
Can't remember what the real time was, but the FA time was 6:20am. Happy it was still so early in the morning, I fell back to sleep. I possibly had another LD here, but I can't recall it. During this FA, I remember wanting to try WILDing again. I remember feeling like someone (probably Danny) was pulling on my arm and rubbing it, trying to get my dream body working. And me thinking I was just imagining this feeling . I also recall there being a point where I had some paralysis bleedthrough into a dream, but I'm having troubles remembering more.

    4. Dreams (9/6/10)

      by , 09-06-2010 at 05:17 PM
DREAM #1: I'm sitting in the passenger seat in my stepdad's blue Ford pickup and my mom is in the driver's seat. We are speeding near an iceberg with a few penguins sitting on top and there's a moat of freezing blue water around it. "Hang 11! Hang 11!" yells my mother, whatever that means. I realize the gas and break are under my feet but the steering wheel is on my side. Before I can hit the brake, my mom swerves the car and we keep racing down the icy road, wherever we are. Later in that dream, I remember sitting in a small wooden boat on a lake at sunset. An eccentric man with a full head of bushy hair gracefully rows by me with a cooking spoon.

DREAM #2: A women in her late 40's with long blond hair and ugly teeth is repelling down a building and she's wearing a white dress that's sliding down. Confused? Me too. Later in the dream, I'm walking my dog. It definitely looks like fall. In a pile of sand, I write, why did you reveal my body to everyone? or something like that.

DREAM #3: A man with blue eyes and thinning hair is in a bubble bath, singing a disgusting song and is being crazy. I then realize I'm dreaming, and get out of bed. I'm still wearing the same shorts and tanktop from when I was asleep, and everything looks very real. I walk downstairs where my Mom is making coffee, and I do a reality check, the pinch nose one. I can't breathe though, so I think I'm awake, and then I actually wake up. Is this my first false awakening?
    5. #140. Ultimate Knowledge

by , 09-06-2010 at 05:13 PM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
I watched The Last Exorcism last night. It was boring, and the shaky cam made me nauseous.

I'm sitting in the hotel lobby, because it's really hard to sleep after a dream like this. Everyone else in my party is still in dreamland, of course.

I just have more fun there.

      09/06/10

In which I'm confronted by a creepy little demon girl.

The case contains four Books from the Akashic Records. I pull off the lid reverently, and the three of us peer into the box.

I pull out a dusty, leatherbound edition, and turn it over in my hands. The cover is blank, but the unwritten words pop out at me in red script.

To read this text is to risk eternal damnation.

I open the Book without another thought. It falls open to a spot near the center, revealing an illustration of a beast with horns, wreathed in flame. So this is the comprehensive guide to demonology. I skim the Latin text, translating automatically. The demon has a name something like "K'nushekkal". I turn the name over in my mind, not willing to risk saying it out loud.

Actually, I think about it. Just to see what would happen.

I'm more interested in the other two books.

      fade

I hear movement, and wake up in a dark room. I feel like it's my bedroom, but the place bears no resemblance to anywhere I've ever lived.

The blankets are bunched up at my feet, and I sit up, bringing my knees up to my chest. I'm looking at my hands, trying to count my fingers, but I can barely see. It's just light enough for everything to take on a dark blue hue. I peer at my fingers, touching each one with the other hand.

"One, two, three, four, five, six." I mutter. The number's not right, but I think I might be seeing things.

No. I can see the pinky digits twisting into each other. I'm dreaming.

I feel a puff of breath on my ear, almost a laugh. "You're a natural," says an otherworldly voice. I can hear the smile in it.

I turn my head slowly to the left, not moving another muscle. A little girl in a white nightdress, maybe twelve years old, is leaning against the side of my bed, grinning up at me. Her irises are such a dark brown that it looks like her eyes are all black. The whites of her eyes seem to glow.

And her nails are digging into the skin of my forearm, holding me in a vice-grip.

Before I can react, she's pulling me through a tear in the dream, straight through the back of a bookshelf. Dark grey mist howls around us, and I can feel her pulling me down. Screams linger at the limits of my hearing, and a tendril of fear slithers through me.

What the hell, I think, giving myself over to the sensation. I want to see where this goes. I close my eyes.

When I open them, I'm standing in the bedroom, across the room from the demon. Her hands are clenched into fists and she's scowling.

"Hm," I say, tilting my head to the side, "You're one of the demons from The Book. I recognize you." Not by sight, of course, but the pages left an imprint.

I cast a glance around the room behind her. Like I thought, the demon is standing next to The Books. That's irritating. I really want to read the other three.

The demon tenses, and I grin as I rush her, landing a hit that sends her sprawling to the side. I keep up my momentum, going to grab the box.

She hits me from the back. I spin around to face her, but she's running at me again. We land on the ground, each trying to pin the other down. I can feel her demonic form at this point, even if I can't see it.

I have her pinned by the arms when I realize that I won't be able to contain her. Calmly, I come to a conclusion. Without a physical weapon, I start to sever her limbs from her body. I pick up an arm and throw it away from the rest of her, cut off her head and kick it away from the rest of the body. I'll scatter the pieces around the house. In the time it takes the demon to pull herself together, I'll have read at least some of the other books.

I'm sawing apart a Barbie doll. Then I wake up.

    6. Three lucid dreams and my first false awakening!

by , 09-06-2010 at 02:17 PM (Nom nom nom, Mmmattelicious...)
I had these dreams a couple of weeks ago. This happened in the same night and was definitely one of the top three dreaming sessions I've ever had. I've had around 15 lucid dreams this year, but no false awakening. This time I got one!

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING SLEEP PARALYSIS

LD1:I'm in a big house with some other people, the walls are covered with doors of glass and for some reason I'm in a fight. A girl enters the room and she attacks me instantly. I reach out with my hand towards her and makes it into a fist. As if by some invisible force, she almost gets crushed. Her eyes widen with shock and fear. I fling my hand to the side and she flies through the room with incredible speed. I pull her back infront of me and she slides in under a table. She gets smacked up and down all the way to the roof and back down again as I do an up- and down motion with my whole arm. I laugh evily at the ammount of power I finally have with telekinesis. Two other people comes rushing in the room and I make all three in the room face eachother in a tight bunch. I make a chain wrap itself around them all and I laugh some more as I watch them struggle in vain.

LD2:I'm on top of a large mountain with some guys. We're doing some kind of "Jackass" show and I light a ball of hay on fire and throw it at one guy. He panics and everybody laughs. Suddenly the fire spreads and I notice that the whole mountain is made out of hay. Within a few seconds the entire place is on fire and we run for our lives. I run through some woods and end up at my old house which I used to live in when I was a kid. There, next to a car, is my family. "Wait a second... This is a dream" I say to myself. I try to convince my family that this all is a dream and they don't have to fear the fire. They refuse to listen to me so I give up and walk away. I enter a plowed field and while standing there in the mud, I try to think of something to do. I can't really think of something as I remember how I had dominated with telekinesis in my last dream. I decide just to fly some and it feels awesome as usual.

LD3:I'm at a big lake with my dad and my youngest brother. I instantly know it's a dream and I convince my dad that it is. "Look, I can shoot pinecones" I say and pick one up. With it in my hand I hold it up towards the sky and it shoots up and out of sight. Ten seconds later it falls down just next to us. My dad wants to try it out and my brother too. They aren't as good as me at it but they do alright. I decide to take a swim in the big lake and as I dive off the cliff I can hear my brother yell something behind me. It sounds as if he doesn't want me to do it. I plunge into the water and it's as if I'm being propelled by an invisible force. I decide to try to fly out of it and makes a jump, just like a dolphin before on my second try, I am soaring through the air. A couple of seconds later I start to feel my body.

FA1:I wake up and I'm sure I've overslept. The neighbours are playing real loud music and I get pissed off. I wake up for real and realise I've had my very first "False Awakening"

This was the first time I could use telekinesis properly. And I've had two lucid dreams since then, in which both I could use it without any problems.

      Keep on dreaming, HARE BRA!
    7. My first 2 Lucids!

      by , 09-05-2010 at 11:47 PM
      My first Lucid Dream!

Extremely Vivid dream of me looking down at my hands and seeing the number of fingers changing I realized i was dreaming and It stopped.

      Second Lucid dream straight afterwards

Yus, i just hand my first long lucid dream wooh! I attempted a V-MILD , I visualized a scene at school, and after reciting " the next time i dream, i will realize i'm dreaming" I soon fell asleep and was in the dream world. I was lying on a bunked and someone was in the room with me , so i did a reality check . I plugged my nose and BAM i could breath!! OMG i felt so excited almost to the point that the dream would fade out. I got this urge of proness suddenly flow over me, I remember during my excitement that I had to remain calm and to do a twirl to keep my dream intact It worked!. Straight after i recovered, an epic idea flew into my mind. Lets teleport to the place I visualized , school! All i did was think about teleporting and suddenly my dream world went black, I thought the dream was over but I saw vivid black objects, my dream was simply loading. After a small amount of time which felt like an eternity I appeared in the school!

So I appeared in class, firt thing on my mind "sex" there was a hot girl sitting infront of me, but there were heaps of other students sitting around. I asked my dream to make them dissapear and one by one the all walked out of the class :O ! I tried to float but I failed. I was so happy that I forgot my previous intentions and started masturbating , it felt so good, but i stopped because I remember someone saying that if you do this you might wake up to a sticky mess. I suddenly became aware of my real body and twitched, my dream stopped. I woke up suddenly thinking "my first lucid yesss!" But then I instinctively did RC by plugging my nose and I could breath! My first False Awakening!

I appeared back in my last dream and I felt High haha. My friends Alex was there and we were walking out to a car park . I saw this hot irl from my school and was going to talk to her when I realized I was only wearing jeans , no shirt and no shoes. WTF? So i walked back to find my stuff and was woken up by an after shock from the recent earthquake we had and wrote this!

      Thanks DV!

I know I had a pretty long and vivid dream, but I can't remember it. All I can remember are these two FAs:

      ---

I was in my living room holding a white bowl. WA was about to throw up. I figured that if he did so in the bowl it would be easier to clean up. I let him barf in it and then I washed the bowl out in the sink.

      ---

I was looking through my fridge for some breakfast, and saw some blueberry pancakes. I thought they would indeed be delicious, but I had to finish the mac n cheese too before it went bad. Which one to choose?

    9. Night of 9/2-9/3

      by , 09-03-2010 at 01:22 PM (SCPantera's Dream Journal)
This dream may or may not have been longer, but here are the parts that I can remember.

I was living with my family again at our old house on Broadway, only there was also this other guy living with us who kind of looked like Gabriel Iglesias only shorter and not quite as fluffy. Anyways, I was in what must have been my brother's room (because A) it was really heavily cluttered and B) there was a scene coming up where I was in my room, which was different) and my brother was there too when Gabriel Iglesias guy came in and demanded something. We were both blew him off so he took out an uzi and sprayed the room; he didn't hit me at all but it killed my brother. Shortly, it cut to a courtroom where I was watching the verdict in the murder trial; GI guy was somehow found not guilty. So I wake up in my bed some morning after but I'm all depressed so I just lay there for a while. When I finally got up, I found my dad and GI guy in the kitchen packing up my brother's stuff. I asked if I could look through it for anything I could use (there was kind of a neat looking fan, and a lot of our old Nintendo hardware). As I started looking through his stuff, I said, "I know we didn't get along, but now that he's gone I kind of miss him." Then I broke down in tears.

Now here's the kind of weird part: I sensed something was weird, I guess probably from the emotional breakdown so I thought, "AM I DREAMING? REALITY CHECK!" But instead of doing a proper reality check I ended up just waking myself up.

      Oops.

There was a little bit of dream bleeding with this one too. I woke up into reality trying to figure out how I could sneak some concentrated potassium chloride into GI guy's bloodstream.

So it seems the new mantra has a bit of a gaping flaw, and I suspect I know why. Namely that I haven't associated it with an actual reality check. I'll maybe fix this in the future, but for now this'll go on the back burner.
    10. Blast those dancers!

      Blast those dancers! (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I had an odd night. I woke up a few times and dreamed odd stuff. I had a lucid. It was about time. I had been 4 days with no lucids.

      Third:

I had a few things to do. I grabbed my car and I drove somewhere. I was waiting for my wife until I saw something odd and I decided to RC. I had six fingers. In addition, my fingers were small, smaller than usual, like half their real size.
As usual, I took flight to steblize the dream. I have been flying for a while. My lucidity was not great because I did not start a certain task like I always do but I followed the flow of the dream.

It was day and I was flying over downtown. I saw several skyscrapers and a few parks. I started to hear music. I found very disturbing that music and I remembered that it was the same music I heard while I was working at the Olive Oil store in the past. It was the dancers! I said to myself that it could be cool to blast them off, but I did not find it very important.

I landed close to the place were I heard the music. I was walking around downtown and it was pretty empty. I saw a couple DC and ask them if they knew where the dancers were. They indicated me. I saw some buildings. Those buildings were recalled from one of my childhood neighborhoods.

I took flight again and saw the dancers from above the sky. I tried to create an energy blast to throw it at them. I did not feel like I attempted really hard, so I failed.

I landed inside the room where the dancers were. It was like a ceiling-less bar location. I saw several tables around and a few DC, but not many.
I was suddenly in another location and I was totally into the dream. I cannot remember this part well, so I am sure I lost lucidity at some point. I had some chit chat with this DC and we flew once more to the place where the dancers were. This guy had a lighter and some alcohol plus some paper. As I could not blast them, I though in making a fireball. I was worried if I was going to be busted and go to jail. I remembered I was dreaming and nothing could happen. I threw a few fireballs (made with the paper and lighter, not with my own powers) and threw it to the place. A fire started and everyone fled. I asked to the DC if the police would guess who it was and he said they would probably do.

I had a False Awakening in my room and I was next to my wife. She was waking me up because the clock was ringing. I wondered if what happened was real or not. I woke up for real.

      Missed dream signs:
      - Unknown.

      Noticed dream signs:
      - Something odd.

      Reality check performed:
      - Hand check (failed. Turned lucid)

I pull myself out of bed, even though I really don't want to. I'm tired, and miserable, and everything's just a bit blurry. I drag myself into the kitchen and sit down, staring into space. Really, this whole thing seems a little... off.

I hold up my right hand. "Two, three, four, five, six." Seems normal. My hands are leaving little motion paths behind them, just like they would in a dream. I dismiss the phenomenon, though. The paths aren't distinct enough to really be noticeable.

Never mind that I'm sitting in the back-room kitchen of the motel my grandparents used to own. Never mind the fact that my grandma sold this place years ago.

I feel shadows forming in the corners of my mind, indicating traces of worm-like creatures on the verge of existence in the other room. I go still. If this was a dream, I could deliberately induce a nightmare. That would be fun.

Maybe I am dreaming. I'm standing behind the glass doors to the patio, looking out over the lawn and the pine trees planted around the perimeter. There's a bunch of things I could be doing if this was a dream.

I hold up my left wrist and bite down on the skin there. I catalogue my reactions. No pain, which doesn't strike me as strange, not really, because I can feel my teeth and lips on the skin there.

      I'm tired.

      End recall.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING

      23:30 GMT – Sleep

      Adventure in Southeast Asia
I am in an exotic country, like maybe India and I feel both the weather and the socio-political scene is unstable. I am staying at this colonial style house that was lent by a friend. We both live in the west and she stays away from this house for months in a row. There had been intense rains and since I was coming to here she wanted me to check if everything was ok and not flooded. It was ok, but intense raining started all over, so I could not guarantee it would stay that way.
There’s also a lot of commotion on the streets and I decide to take the van just outside the gate of the property, ready to leave at any time, just in case something goes wrong and things heat up.
I am also being spied on and followed and I already spotted this guy always looking over my shoulder wherever I go.

      3:40 GMT

Some other dreamer’s house and memories?
I am lying in bed, with my laptop and I am checking dream journals and replying to some. I found this guy who found out he is dreaming about some house for some time and he suspects it is the house of some other dreamer. I also find out I have dreamt a few times about his own house or more precisely, some surroundings around his house - it's on top of a mountain or hill and there's a road going there with a little tunnek trhought the mountain.
I am going trough this when I hear some noise. I look around and my room isn’t really my room. I am at this big house, I don’t know of whom. I go out of the room and the noise seems to come from the kitchen which is one or 2 doors on the left. The house is rectangular, with a large hallway in the middle, crossing the house from one side to the other.
Everything is absolutely dark but there’s some clarity coming from under the kitchen’s door. I wonder if there’s someone inside, open the door and after all it is also dark. I assume the light was some reflection, maybe from the moonlight.
When I decide to go back to the room, I suddenly watch this scene as if hovering on a different plane/dimension: a guy is coming down the hallway from the room (just as I did), because he heard some noise in the kitchen. But unlike me, he is surprised by a room mate coming out of the kitchen. He says something like “Damn, you scared me. I didn’t know you were back tonight.” But the other guy was in an incredible bad mood and told him something in the line of “sod-off”. Then the scene fades and I continue down the hallway, back to the room.

Then I am falling asleep in the dream, when the room door opens and I jump up with fright. This time it is my boyfriend P. and I also wonder “I thought you were not coming back tonight!” - I thought I was already awake and he was real, because in RL he was actually not sleeping at home this night. Then I really woke up amidst some confusion.

      5:00 GMT

Messing up a palace with crumbles
I’m sitting in an armchair of a palace, eating breakfast cereals from the package and wondering what I’m doing there. Maybe it’s from some friend’s grandparents or something. I look around and think “Hmm, maybe I should explore this place a little bit.” Then a maid appears, looks surprised to see me there doing that – not the behaviour you’d expect of someone living in a palace. I feel embarrassed of the mess I made with crumbles on the chair. I say I’m sorry and promise to clean up later, but she refuses, after all that’s her job so she just moves me away to the side and cleans up the mess. Ok, ok. I get it. I pack my cereals and move on. I am decided to explore the palace but all sorts of distractions cross my path. For example, this lady close to the entrance door wants to know if I remember if she paid the entrance or something like that. I don’t know what she’s talking, but I say I don’t remember, so she gives me money to pay... whatever.

      Mirror portal
I am in front of the mirror above the sink in my bathroom. I realise I am dreaming and I sink my hand in the mirror. It was even more clear than usual. I decide instead of plunging there to take some liquid mirror with my hand and play with it. I drop it in the sink and try to solidify it there, but I don’t succeed, it stays liquid. Everything is getting dark and I feel I am loosing lucidity so I focus on the mirror that now transforms into a screen. For a moment I feel my face on my bed and realise I'm sleeping belly down, but manage to hold on the faint dream.
There’s only darkness around and this screen in the middle. On the screen there is a lady in uniform asking me where do I want to go. It looks like a flight company commercial or an interactive help post at an airport. I even laugh saying to myself the lady looks a flight attendant from Lufthansa (german company). I really don’t know where to go and while I think, all sorts of images of places but also just flashlights and patterns succeed on the screen at amazing speed but also amazing clarity. Then a map of the world appears and I am asked where I want to go. Stupidly the first idea that occurs to me is Germany (because of the Lufthansa connection) and I am sucked into the screen. But I can’t hold it steady and I wake up in my bed (or so it seems).

      False awakening
I open my eyes, I’m in my bedroom, it’s early morning. Some light already coming in. I look around feeling disappointed with the previous lucid experience. And then I realise my bedroom’s door is open. I always close it to sleep, or else the cat will bite my feet all night. I get up to close the door and check if the cat is inside or outside, but I find it all too strange. I mean, not the room, everything looks just like it should, but the door open when I am pretty sure I closed it last time I woke up and went to the toilet... I decide to reality check and I sink my hand on the wall. Great! I am still dreaming!

      Entering Nighthawk's dream
Still in my false bedroom I face the mirror on my wardrobe and decide to continue from there. I like using mirrors as portals, so I think again where I want to go in front of the mirror: from frivolous things to really important things I decide for the frivolous, mostly because I am still training so I have to take it easy. So I decide to go visit Nighthwak. I jump in the mirror, dwell in the voidness for a while and find myself in a lab. What went wrong? But then I see him there. He looks younger and I realise it must be one of his memories, from the university. He saw me eventually and he looked interested in exploring my presence in his dream. He signalled for me to wait a little while, but when he returned it wasn’t really him anymore and I sensed I had lost the connection and was just projecting. The lab was now an open air space, so I decided to move on, since this experience was no longer working.

Trying to escape a collapsing dream
I am walking around in this open air space that looks more and more like a park, with ponds, little bridges over canals, suspended gardens. I am thinking about where to go next and decide I must sit and do some meditation to go back on tracks – in terms of focusing on the really important things to do. But this dream here is kind of collapsing – maybe because it wasn’t mine? The bridges started moving and now end up in the middle of nowhere in the air, two gargoyles in stone detach from this stone balcony and attack me. I feel I need to get out really fast or I will wake up. No mirror around so I think about jumping in the water of the pond. But instead of mirror-like it is now murky, I see strange creatures swimming around, crocodile-like. I don’t feel so attracted to jump on it. Now the murky waters are rising and I’m losing ground. I climb to some brick wall and decide to jump from there to the floor and hope for the best.

      End of the adventure
It worked. As I fell on the grass, I sank and landed on some other dream. I was somewhere in the Middle East. Also in a garden. All was shining in warm colours, red and orange, really beautiful and in the end of this garden there was this beautiful and amazing mosque, also reddish. I was stunned with the scenario and thinking that I could sit there. That’s when I saw a group of angry men pointing at me, running in my direction. That’s when I realised I had landed over this kind of big stone or wall, which apparently was sacred for them, or the whole garden was and he fact I’m sitting up there it is extremely offensive to them. As they approach me and start bringing me down from where I was, I ask forgiveness but I am still smiling, commenting with them that their mosque is really something special. They think I’m crazy. Then I realize I have to jump again but they just don’t allow me to do that. I have men grabbing my arms, others grabbing my legs, I can’t move. Shit, I have to develop a method to jump without really jumping, just with thought. And I really need to build a place to go just sit, because dreams are crowded with monsters and armies and just plain distractions to get us away from our objectives.

    13. First Lucid!!!

      Date: 1/09/10
      Lucid
      Non-Lucid
      ----------
      Method: DILD
I woke up and I was in my bed, a dim light was on below me and it was night time. I thought that maybe I was in a dream, so I pinched my nose - I could still breathe. I got excited and jumped out of bed however I could not seem to leave my house. I tried flying but that didn't work. Instead I made a few portals all in a row on a blue mattress leaning against the wall. The portals were all geometric shapes (circle, square, star etc.) and I looked through some of them before deciding on going through the heart shaped one. The other portals disappeared and I grabbed the edges of the heart shaped portal and stretched it bigger then stepped through.

The portal took me outside and it was now day time. The sky was REALLY blue with just a few clouds. I was walking up the hill outside my house with my Dad. We continued walking through the Estate and finally we reached an empty lot which had been turned into a bush-like camping area. My sister, brother and Mum were already there and starting a barbecue.

      ----------
I was in my room - it was daytime. Instead of a wall though to close off my room there was an open divider leading into another room. It looked a lot like my old classrooms in primary school. Two classes of students (approximately grade 6) were sitting on the floor as Mrs. M and Mr C (my grade 6 teachers) taught the class. I sat next to my beanbag sort of bored...

    14. Soap opera dream and false awakening

I was having an AMC dream. JR discovered Annie was sleeping with some politician dude. They were getting it on in a car. JR discovered them and had got upset, but this part of the dream faded.

False awakening. I "woke up" in bed. I spent a moment lying there and recalling the dream. I was also quite surprised I had fallen asleep again. I didn't even feel it coming.

      Edited for TMI content...

I wondered about the possibility of this being a false awakening. I then noticed that, consciously, I did feel different. Fairly positive now that I'm dreaming, I thought to myself, "Only one way to check, and that's to get out of bed!"

As I slowly rolled over and got out of bed, I marveled about the fact that this really did feel like I was moving my real body. I began to question whether I was truly dreaming or not. I rather felt that getting out of bed would feel floaty, especially since in lucids, I don't normally feel gravity and weighty. This felt exactly like real life. Future note, WILDs may feel exactly like this. Especially when I think I'm awake...

Anyways, I was thinking a lot about this whole "Am I moving a dream body or my real body?" thing, and I heard a voice in the back of my mind, "Don't over think it, or you WILL wake up too much and move your real body." This voice sounded female, to my surprise (I usually expect Danny to tell me these things). It was probably myself; but in the past, Janine (my first DG, before Danny) often sounded like me... I wonder if this was her, again?

I didn't spend too much time looking around the room. But I did notice that the bedroom door, positioning of the bed and my endtable were all as they should be. This made me question, again, whether I was lucid or awake. I looked at the clock on my endtable. The numbers should have been a dead give-away. I could barely read the clock... it looked tired-eye bleary and I couldn't really make out any numbers. I concentrated harder. Does that say 4:41 or 4:48? I rubbed my eyes and looked again. It says 4:48. "I don't have to get up until 5:30," I reminded myself. "This is perfect, I can sleep longer!"

Completely forgetting about the false awakening, I crawl back in bed beside Jack. I noticed he was awake and reading something on his phone. We had a short discussion about him not staying up this late and my alarm rang.

Alright, so even if I hadn't gotten distracted, it's not like I could've done much with the lucidity, anyways. My guess is, this all happened just before 5:30, waking time. Maybe about 5:25, but this whole scene felt a bit shorter than 5 minutes. Still, this is a great note for future WILDs... I guess this is considered an INRALD (I'm Not Really Awake Lucid Dream)... I thought I was pretty good at determining lucidity by how it feels alone... and normal DILDs, I think that still holds true. But this whole new foray into INRALDing and WILDing... when I honestly think I'm awake, it really, really does feel like I'm awake! Further proof that I REALLY need to RC upon waking up...
    15. Night of 8/31-9/1

      by , 09-01-2010 at 12:21 PM (SCPantera's Dream Journal)
      Had another lucid-for-a-few-moments-but-lost-it episode.

It started with a longer sequence for which I only remember some. I was with a few people whom I suspect were my parents (at least one of them was my dad) and we were in a car going to what was some kind of mall/fast food restaurant combination--it had a drive through window. We ordered and picked up...something, but we forgot to order something we needed so I got out to go into the store and get it while they circled back around to pick me up. When I came out, as I got into the car my dad asked, "Do you know what 'los loco lobos' means?" to which I replied, "The crazy dog."

Cut to me sitting in a theater watching some romance movie. It featured an Asian couple from New York City. The only part of the movie I can remember was a segment where the girl went into this long-winded monologue about how her boyfriend was so awesome because he had all these manly, rugged qualities because he was such a "Minnesota man", which I recall thinking was outrageously stupid because they were both from New York City.

Cut once more to me in bed; I would wake up, my wife would tell me something, and then I'd go back to sleep. This would happen over and over. At some point she woke me up and started reciting sappy lines from the romantic movie from before, and when she did so I thought, "Oh god, I'm in a nightmare now!" semi-jokingly, then did a nose pinch reality check which failed. Had a quick "Yeah!" moment, then got up quickly (thus far I'd been thinking my last lucid slipped away because I stayed laying down) to get to work. My wife was now babbling incoherently, trying to get my attention so I waved her away since I was planning to clear out my apartment as a start to environmental control practice. I started to head to the front door of my apartment to turn on the light (since it was still dark in the room), but the dream dissolved to awakening. Reality check passed; lost it again quickly unfortunately.

It's nice that I'm still getting lucids and that they seem to be occurring with a little more frequency, but I need to find some way to stabilize them.
