    1. The Black Rice Farmers

      I can remember fighting for lucidity during some dream about driving down a dark road at night. I could also tell that I was partially awake as I could feel my waking life body back in bed. I was flying, and doing pretty well. I could feel my DG's presence as well. After a few minutes the dream ended and I woke up.

      I am watching a history program, something to do with a man who was famous for leading an army and conquering a large area of land. The man looked a little like king Henry, but I was told that he was not in fact king Henry.
      So anyways, his army is cutting a swath across the countryside when they come across this small tribal village that grows some kind of black rice. The village is in this river valley surrounded by these tall exotic trees.
      The king Henry conqueror seized the village instantly. The women were raped, then killed. The children were taken to be brought up as soldiers. The men were enslaved and forced to continue farming the black rice as it was very nutritious and helped the conqueror's soldiers fight better.
      I can recall the narrator of the show talked about how the slaves were actually paid in dirt. This was a joke done by the conqueror's soldiers as more dirt meant that they could farm more.
      I can remember some shots of his army being stationed in the village. They have this massive wooden tower on wheels that the conqueror rides in. The tower is also equipped with catapults.
      ...
      The dream glitches and I become one of the conqueror's soldiers who is responsible for watching over the slaves. I guess the dream made a mistake there, because unlike the conqueror, I actually had morals.
      I come up to one of the men while he works in the feild. I think he was the leader of the village. If not, he was important to the farming village. I 'Remember' there is another village that we did not conquer because it was high in the mountain, and did not normally make contact with the outside world. I tell him I will lead him to a safe village high in the mountain. He says he wants to gather the rest of the men in the tribe and escape with whoever is still alive. I tell him that it is too dangerous as the other soldiers still want control of the village.
      ...
      I recall seeing some of the black rice in my hand. The dream glitched a little here. I can also recall that for some reason, there is this big mound of sand in the middle of the black rice farm.
      ...
      The man tells me that I have somehow 'worthy' of his trust, even though we haven't gone anywhere yet, and I begin to lead him out to the edge of the fields. Once we make it into the jungle, we can feel a bit safer because we are not as easily spotted. We walk along the edge of the river, following it upstream. At one point, there is a massive stone bridge/dam that we must cross in order to continue. The bridge is broken at one point, and we must jump across. The man I am helping goes first. I am a little afraid that I cannot make the jump, but I manage to do so as well.
      After I land, I am taken OOB and see myself and the man. We begin walking upstream again. Faster now, and knowing that soon we will be climbing a mountain.

      I become partially lucid and realize that I am losing the dream but am fascinated by the story that is playing out, and I really want to see what happens next. I manage to hang on a little longer.
      Some of the conqueror's men are heard coming, on horseback. It's just a random patrol. We duck behind these standing stones that are nearby, hoping that they do not spot us.
    2. Ride like the wind

      I was watching from as if behind a rider’s eyes as he rode his horse. They jumped over many obstacles that got progressively harder (at one point, fences), and I marveled at it, wondering how the horse didn’t get worn out.

      It switched to an omniscient view. Apparently I’m spying on the rider as he’s delivering a package. It’s a really long piece of metalwork, and I wonder how he’s carrying it without any issues, but after watching him, I see that he’s keeping it well in hand, even though it’s almost longer than the horse.

      They arrive at a pen, and the horse jumps over the enclosure - I see Spice sleeping on the dirt ground, but the horse jumps over him with ease.

      Me and a woman are there waiting, sitting behind some kind of square crate. I look over and see that Spice is a few feet to the left than where he was before.

      Notes: I have ‘ride a horse’ on my goal list but hadn’t thought about it much lately. So to have this dream out of nowhere was amazing. Feeling the horse jump over obstacles and running was an amazing feeling. I hope to have another dream like this!
    3. Evading death

      3rd person dream following a character shortly after his mother's funeral. This man believes he's just been 'granted a power to evade death.' He's currently out riding with the woman he used to be engaged to and his closest friend, who is now pursuing that woman himself. Watching the two of them together, he decides there's nothing here for him and turns his horse away, thinking about traveling.

      Years later, the same character is white-haired and recording his memoirs, dictating them to a recording device. He's describing that 'power or curse of evading death' and his wife, who'd been listening, rolls her eyes. She's heard that story of his before. Losing interest, she leaves the room. In his dictation, he's just started describing the moment he was summoned to his mother's deathbed, to take the last of her life and inherit her power. As he speaks, his dead mother appears in the room. This is something he's used to, although he's the only one who can see her, and although she hasn't appeared very often recently. She dislikes watching him let himself grow old. But he's only allowing himself to age as long as his wife is alive, so they can grow old together; after she passes away, he intends to go back to feeding off other people's lives. Still dictating, he remembers the last words of advice his mother had given to him on her deathbed: 'In this life, do not just feed. Remember to dance.'
    4. Three Lucids and Sugar Cookies

      Lucid Dream 1
      I don't know where I became lucid. I wanted to find Angel Falls or the Colosseum so I started to fly above wooded land. I knew that I should try to find a jungle so I willed it to start to turn into palm trees. I somehow threw something down there that made it start to turn into a jungle. I was pleased.

      I flew low to the ground and looked forward and up and little, commanding Angel Falls to appear in front of me. I came to a clearing with a little town, and two houses stood out to me. One was made of dark, polished wood but was made almost completely out of glass. It was very modern looking. There was a house next to it that looked very homey and was about two stories tall. I knew instantly that it was a hotel. The grass was neatly trimmed around these two houses, There might have been a pickup truck next to the glass house, and I think that there was a shed next to the hotel. I decided that I could take a detour, and lighted down in front of the hotel. I walked up the sidewalk and on the the front porch. I think that they had a screen door. The people there instantly welcomed me, and I felt at home. My room was directly to the left, like at my mom's house. I had a bed that sank almost to the floor when you laid in it.

      I remember the buzz of conversation, and I went into the main room. There might have been a dining room table. One of the women who worked there was wearing a maid's outfit and holding a plate of sugar cookies. I reached forward and took one. It was exactly how sugar cookies are supposed to be, so soft that they nearly break just picking them up. I know that she was talking to another woman while I ate around 3-4 cookies before stopping out of politeness/didn't want to get fat.

      I left the house and wanted to find another hotel to stay at, because I thought that this was really cool. I walked across the dusty road and thought that I had bee in this dream for a while, accompanied by an exhilarated feeling. I think that this was the dream where everything got narrow very suddenly, the feeling that usually precedes waking up. Everything in my vision got squished together, and my nose was really long and narrow. I think that I woke up. It's like all this happened, but it also didn't happen. I flew out over the edge of the mountain that I'd been on which declined steeply. There were two hotels there, one was interesting looking but looked unreal, like something made of clay. The other one almost made the cut. It had a rounded top and looked similar to a Colosseum. It looked too small though, and also had that air of fakeness.

      So I kept flying. I wanted to see a log cabin hotel, and pretty soon I was fast approaching a long line of log cabins. I immediately knew that they were rented out by people who came here in the summer/winter. There was also a fairly small town next to the cabins. But, there was a huge mansion that was in the corner of the town. I flew above the town and looked down, and the mansion was almost a third as big as the entire town put together. I was going to pass the mansion by, but then I caught a glimpse of a bedroom through a burnt sienna colored stained glass window. I was pretty high up, so I swooped down to the entrance of the mansion. This is where I started to lose lucidity. I remember water, I think. I guess that I got lost or something because I kept on going in and out of the building. I remember a ledge, and one of those things that covers the top of a bed, that filmy and fluttery material.


      Lucid Dream 2
      I was at my grandparent's house. My brother was there as well. Everything was dim and gray. there was a gigantic spider, bigger than a trailer, that was circling the house on a set track. My brother and I were mostly hiding on the front porch, but then I decided to be brave and try and kill the thing. Oddly, I don't remember seeing any trees in my grandparent's front yard. My brother stayed on the front porch while I circled around to the back porch. I remember trying to run really fast,and constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure that it wasn't there behind me. I think that I saw it coming, once. Also, I went to the back porch because I somehow knew that we had to attack the spider from the front and back at the same time. That doesn't make much sense, though, since it was impossible for the spider to be in the front and back yard at the same time.

      My brother had a sword, as did I. I remember seeing the spider scuttling around the side of the house and hiding behind the porch while trying to get within distance to attack but not close enough to get grabbed by one of it's legs.

      When I was walking further into the backyard I thoughtlessly did a reality check and counted 6 fingers out loud. A moment later I paused because I knew that I should have only five fingers. I realized that I must be in a dream. I know that I flew around and did cool stuff, but I can't remember any of it! I do remember doing a nose plug RC and being completely taken by surprise when I could easily breath. I tried it again, and knew that I was in a dream when I could breath. I remember a field.

      Then I had a false awakening, of sorts. I 'woke up' in the same place that I'd been in before I'd become lucid. I checked my hand, and counted five fingers. I was still a little doubtful, so I triple checked, and each time I had five fingers. I shrugged and continued to walk forward, non-lucid.

      Note:This dream was probably influenced by the movie Charlotte's Web, which I watched yesterday.

      Lucid Dream 3
      I was with a group of my friends. I forget how I became lucid. I thought that we were all having the same dream, and that it was really them. I was super excited when I told them to check their hands, because they were in a dream. They all looked down in confusion. I remember seeing N with his face scrunched up in confusion. I looked down at my own hand. I whispered "wow" because it looked as though there were tiny cracks all over my hand, very strange looking. I think that K came over and was curious as to what my hand looked like.

      I told J that we were going camping, and hiked a blue backpack over my shoulder. I was pleased that I'd be able to check off a task in my personal summer goals list. I commanded there to be a field of purple violets in the next field. I went over the hill, but it was really bumpy and I wanted it to be smooth so I held out a flat hand and made a wiping motion over and over. The landscape slowly flattened, but it was if the violets had been sheared because only short green stalks were left. I remember a field with corn that had grown about up to my thigh. I was disappointed that the field was ruined, and continued onward. We came to a road at the other end of the field, with a farmhouse, maybe red. Around this point we started running from a man who was trying to kill us. I remembered promising my friends that we'd go horseback riding as I was fleeing. I could only see that ground beneath me as I ran with all my might. A horse appeared underneath me, tan colored. It had an odd gait, but I was content.

      I remember running across a rickety bridge and trying to cut the ropes before the man could follow me across.

      I was on a rock in the middle of some very dark water. I was close to the shore, but I'd still have to swim to get there. There were a few rocks scattered around me, along with some floating pieces of driftwood/rafts. I was absolutely terrified in this place. It had a slimy, creepy feeling. I was scared that something would come up from underneath and grab me. I wanted to conquer my fear of this place, though, so I began to thread seaweed/thread/rope between all the stranded rocks and such, like I was making little bridges so I didn't have to step over cracks. It calmed me.

      Dream 4
      I was in the place with the glass house and hotel. I was trying to continue up a hill, but it was so steep that I found it impossible. KM was climbing it with ease, and I loathed her because of it. There was someone else with me who disliked her as well. When we reached the top and looked down, the view was breathtaking. KM laughed and said that she wouldn't be testing it out

      I remember entering this pathetic little dog who I loved in a dog contest.

      I had to skate up the mountain which had just climbed, and you had to control these three lines and keep them in line with the lines printed on the ground, sorta like a video game of some kind. It was nearly impossible, I only got two stars and whatever machines I was using got damaged. Someone said that they told me so.

      The judges said that I did bad.
    5. Jailbreak and Horses

      Alright, tonight was a rather strange assortment of dreams, and I hope I can recall them with some decency.

      The first dream I had revolves around something like a jail break. I apparently know these two guys in this sort of
      posh prison. It's not so much a prison, as it looked way more like a boarding school than anything. The headmaster
      of this institution is blind, and I'm working with this girl to get my two friends out. through some sneaking around, we are
      able to notify the two guys that tonight was the night they were going to break out. We ran up to their rooms, told them to rush it and pack, and
      then, somehow, we just walked through the front door, albeit rather quickly. When we got outside, it was almost as if the scene came
      from an old fairy tale. I smelt pine in the air, the streets were clear of frost but you could still see your breath, and I could hear
      the soft movement of water - not too fast, not too slow.

      It was at this point the phone woke up and I was broken from this scene, but as soon as I could, I drifted back, focusing on that very spot. When
      I got there, I could tell the world around me was fading, so I opened my eyes (in my dream) and spun around. It actually worked in keeping
      the dream alive!

      There is a bit of a disconnect between how I got from there to this estate, but the next portion of the story takes place there. We talk to who I assume to be the father
      and mother of a sister and brother, though I'm not sure if they are the same people in the jailbreak or not. They invite us out to ride their multitude of horses, and
      we take a turn around the track that surrounds a lake (again, still on their estate). The son of this couple and I both take black horses, his a stallion and mine a mare, and we take off. There are more people on the track than just us, but they're just sort of there, racing along, being people walking around the lake, things like that. Anyway, we're racing and we round the first corner round the lake. The son, who had passed me on the turn, couldn't keep his hold and fell off his horse. The horse proceeded to run and jump in the water; that was the last time I saw that horse. I was about to keep going and just finish up the lap, but then a little boy falls into the lake. I get off my horse and, along with some other characters, pull him out of the water onto the bank. At this point my own horse disappears and instead turns into a girl (around the same age as the boy we had just pulled from the water). The girl runs to the small pond next to the road, on the other side of the lake, and jumps in. I ask if she wants to continue down the track, and she adamantly refuses. I turn back to look at how long the track really is: maybe a kilometre or two - tops. By the time I turn around to face her, she has vanished.

      At this point I notice that no one else around me has horses, and they are merely walking about. I follow suit and take the not so long walk back to the estate. A discussion there ensues about what we ought to do, and the father and mother suggest another race. Instead of the multitude of horses, now I see they have but a few, and the black mare I had ridden previously was no where to be found. I instead got a grey mare, slightly spotted with black around the hooves and snout.

      We mount up and ride again, but for some reason we stop; the son and I take our horses, his being a blonde, chestnut mare, mine being the aforementioned, and let them circle the pen on their own. We go back into the house for a little while. The son, whose features and voice I cannot distinguish, was talking to his sister, whose features and voice I can also not distinguish, about the records he held with horses. He was missing the times for a dash of some sorts, and that it needed to be below 20 seconds.

      The siblings then start discussing how riding while reading is quite easy and fun, but I realise that it doesn't suit my taste to multi-task in that fashion. The father and the mother say the best part of riding IS riding, so you shouldn't do anything else but that. The father then offers to go with me once more around the track.

      We get up and walk towards the pen where my horse and the son's horse are taking small warm up circles. Upon seeing up, they jump over the end and sprint past us. The father said to just go and wait by the pen and the horses will come back and then we can ride them around the lake once more. Upon entering the pen, I realise that I am not alone, but instead I'm with another handful of people.

      I see my mare running towards the pen, but she then turns into this blonde woman, decently tall in stature, delicate, but not petite (but she was by no means fat; she was, rather very realistic with a decently slim waist, decent bust, blonde hair that fell to her hips, and clad in a dark green dress that fell to her feet). She was carrying a sort of pouch, and somehow I knew that you needed to be the owner of a certain artefact before you could call her yours. I was not the first to point this out, as one of the people standing in the pen said what she had on her mind: "you're looking for the one with the bottles, aren't you?" She responds with, "Indeed I am. Can you point to me who is my master?" The character she is talking to looks over in my direction and says, "the one in the grey shirt."

      It was sadly at this point I woke up. I got out of the dream so quickly, I didn't even realise it was fading around me. I tried to re-enter the dream, but was sadly unsuccessful.

      During the first part of the dream, the jail break part, I knew I was in a dream, yet it was more like the story was unfolding and I wasn't in my own body. I was merely a visitor in this scenario. When I left the dream due to the phone ringing, upon re-entry I feel like I really "opened my eyes" to the dream world. The details became clearer, I could hear things, smell things, really have a grasp on the world around me. While I don't remember how I got to the estate, I do remember that the riding was a big deal.
      What was really interesting, but something that did seem quite normal in the dream, was that the horses turned into people. From what I gather, the boy that me and some dream characters pulled out onto the bank was actually the son's black mare. Once I got off my horse, she turned into a girl of roughly the same age, who refused to take me along the track, and instead wanted to play with the ducks and such. My second horse turned into a beautiful woman who, thinking back on it, seemed like she was garbed in more Celtic-like gear than anything else.

      I'm still not quite sure what my "dream signs" are. I am simply aware that I am dreaming, perform a reality check to confirm, and go back and go along with the story, as I thing it's supposed to happen. There doesn't seem to be a real consistent theme in the dreams I've written down in the Dream Journal. But, from the last one to this one, what is consistent is that I'm with a blonde girl right before my dream fades. Although the one from my last dream and this one were completely different (the last one was petite, bubbly, very playful, whilst this one was not fat, just taller and slightly bigger in stature, and far more calm). Not sure what it all is supposed to mean, but hopefully some recall on future dreams will shape what my dream signs are and maybe show the significance of the girl.
    6. The Quartruple Wedding

      Zahidah, Mei Ling & Meriliyn were all wearing white lacy form hugging wedding dress. All of them looked really pretty.

      I was walking with Zahidah before and saw a photo of a photo session that involved wearing a wedding dress and a veil that covered half the face from the top of the head to the nose. You couldn't see that person behind that veil. We saw a sample of the photo framed up behind a glass window of a photo shop.

      The dream went through the havok of choosing a wedding theme and a dress for each of them, they were excited the whole time including me. I was mostly going around taking pictures of the whole thing and ended up being the last one to choose a dress.

      The starting a the wedding was at an open space with the 4 grooms wearing white tux coming driving horse drawn chariots. The grooms were laughing and waving at everyone. Following behind them were more people on carriages and horse drawn trucks throwing flowers. They rode from one end to the other end of the field.

      The girls came from the same place as the guys, all 4 of them wearing their wedding dressing and a parade of people behind. They did a really complex route and everyone cheered. The girls rode away turning behind showing off their long train lace, laughing and excited.

      This whole time I was watching at the side line taking photos and trying to hold up my wedding gown still draped on my arm. I was slightly disappointed that I was not taking part, but I was still awed at the magnificence of the whole wedding parade.
    7. Shambala jungle

      I wake up in this jungle area, I am underneath some sort of ruins of a dome supported by pillars. I hear something in the distance, I stand up it is dark out I see what I think to be a large kangaroo jumping away from me. Then something comes towards me after a bit, it turns out to be two very large horses. one bigger than the other, they are much closer to me now I feel slightly afraid because of the force I sense behind them.
      I try to keep a stone pillar between me and them as they start circling the dome.. my fear dissipates though as I can sense they have good intention. they are beautiful and mystical in there own way.

      It skips to a different part of the jungle, there are many people scurrying about. it reminds me of a rainbow gathering but with huts, I come upon this place called the shambala temple. I go across the way to a small hut where there is this chubby grey shaman alien looking man. I talk to him for awhile, only remember the part where he says I shouldn't get married. then I ask why, he says idk maybe you should get married. I will marry you two tomorrow! then I leave to go find my mate and tell him. apparently he's been arrested for trespassing with others. I see a goofy picture of him. there is some piece of paper that says he will be there for 20 days.

      if anyone has opinions or interpretation they would be appreciated.

      I am with some guys at a weird place. There are horses everywhere. There are casual horses, dressed horses, silver-armored horses, gold-armored horses... For some reason there is a huge guy there dressed in heavy silver armor and he is chasing us. At some point i turned around and see him holding a long spear and a hand ballista. He loads the ballista with the spear he's holding and he is aiming us! We run! The spear hits me in the head on the bone behind my right ear... and it ostracized!

      "Dude... I felt no pain"
      "Yeah man, this spot doesn't hurt. You were lucky!"

      I accept it... After that there was some chasing with the horses going on. I rode a horse and climbed (with the horse) on a tree, so that the other horses couldn't reach us.

      I am with my parents in our car, going home. I am sleeping in the car. I wake up and notice we are in Kifisia avenue (just an avenue). My fother stops and gets out of the car in order to pee. The place were we stopped doesn't really exsist in the specific part of the avenue we were in. I sleep again. I wake up and find myself sitting in a tabble and there are my parents and many other people too. Seems like Friday's or something... I get up, frustrated, beacause everyone is eating the best desserts and except that the didn't get anything for me, they let me sleep in a restaurant full with people... I say to my mother:

      "Why didn't you get me anything?"
      "You were sleeping..."
      "You should WAKE ME UP!!!"

      Everyone is looking at me, as i leave the table in order to find someone to order something. As i walk through the tables i see a girl dressed in a sexy maid outfit, but i keep walking... I walk up some stairs. I can't find someone to order anywhere. A counter, a bar, a waitress, NOTHING. I go back to our table. I see the girl again. Her clothes are now different. How did she change so fast? I look at our table.

      "Hey mom, i can't find anyone anywhere... unless..."
      "...it's a dream..."


      I am lucid. I find myself sitting on a bed, without noticing the change in the dream.
      "It's a dream... Hold it!... It's a dream!"
      I do the nose RC. I can breathe normally. I try to think something to stabilize the dream. I let my nose, and rub my hands, but i don't like the feeling. Holding my nose again makes things much better. I think of activating my other senses. I can't hear anything. I turn around and open a window. Nothing...
      "...cars..."
      There is traffic sound now!
      "...wind...ffffff"
      I can hear wind! That's cool! I think about smell, which i rarely have in dreams.
      "...cake..."
      Nop... It's ok. The dream seems stable enough. I think of spinning to change scene. I close my eyes and think about it... Naaaaah... I open my eyes and i am now lied in the bed i was sitting. I close them again and try to imagine a new place. I open them a little and i have a mixed image of my room and my dream. I close them and feel i am waking up.


      And i woke up...
      I note not to try this means of transport again for some time. I need to concentrate on a dream guide. Hopefully i 'll learn more about stabilizing my dreams this way.

    9. The Trapped Knights

      I was playing a game. Warcraft: Frozen Throne? I was making knights and horses, and then putting knights on them. I was to defend a small area. There are two openings, and I have to last for a certain amount of time.

      There are bandits/enemies on one side, but then they ran to the other opening. I moved my knights to that side. Strangely, the bandits destroyed the... something, in that area, and so now we only have one opening to protect.

      Then I was on a table, eating a delicious chocolate cheese cake.

      The beach. Party? I also recall trying to download Ubuntu 8.04.

    10. Draft Horses

      I have not kept up with this journal for a while. Not surprisingly, my dream recall has really fallen. Oh well, back to it:

      The Draft Horse

      I am at home. My mother and father are there, and my father has a new horse in the chicken coop. He leads this horse out, and I find out it is just a colt. My mother explains that even though it seems to be full size not that it will grow to be very large. He tells me that it is a young Clydesdale. As I watch, the horse grows to full size, which is about twice the size of a normal draft horse.

      Pathetic, isn't it...

    11. Floods and dolls

      There was some kind of evil organization or something that was kidnapping people buy forcing them out of their houses with a flood. They would somehow conjure water until the houses filled up, and they would ride by on horses and pick them up.

      I woke up in a house with no roof (like some kind of doll house) and began to wonder around. I find my friend A sitting on a table, pouting. I ask her what is wrong and she says "It's your fault I am here!" and continued yelling at me in distain like a five year old. I pick her up and say "I know, I'm sorry" and begin to search for more people. I find my friend Sar and a bunch more people I know irl. I realize we are all wearing the same green and white dress.
    12. Wolf Attack; Hair Phone; Killed by Arrow

      So busy, I don't know how anyone else keeps up with their journal!

      Yesterday:

      I was in a specialty store. It was full of people buying things you really had to get at this store for the quality of the product and type of product.

      It was a long line, and all I had was a little salami--not worth standing in the line. Then everyone turned around and I was towards the front. Didn't seem fair, but whatever.

      I needed to go to my truck to get something, but there were dark ash grey wolves beyond it. They were the size of coyotes. I knew I could make it to the truck, but not back to the line. I went anyway.

      The close wolf was close enough to get me and he was really ferocious looking.

      Another Hell sequence. First it was Purgatory "to look down on me," then it was Hell. About 5 people were there and one was in a clown outfit. Colors were red and yellow and decorated as if for kids.

      It wasn't scary, but it was Hell.

      In another dream I forget most of it, but I had a long hair coming out of my back that I could communnicate through like a phone. The end was a speaker.

      I was going to tell a lady I talked to through the hair-phone that I was going to cut the hair and then I couldn't use it as a phone, but I thought that was gross to tell her, so I didn't. I never did cut the hair
      either. ???

      This is the second weird hair dream I've had. Once I was reading a poem made out of braided hair--now it's a phone made of a piece of hair.

      Now, on to last nights dream:

      My alarm clock went off to NPR news. This bled into my dream. I remember I was controlling a little remote control corvette in front of a real corvette. In my mind this corresponded with the news some how.

      Then, there was a bridge that disconnected me from the other side. It disallowed me from crossing something, but allowed others to cross to me. Strange.

      Then there were these storm troopers dressed in black, on horse-back, with bow and arrows. I didn't have a weapon. they poured in to where I was on either side of an out-door type room I was in.

      I knew they would kill me because I had nowhere to escape and there were so many of them.

      Two weird creatures flew in and landed on the wall. One was an alien lizard, the other some other type of alien lizard thing. I was going to try to at least take one of them out, but I was about to be shot by an arrow.

      I couldn't believe I was about to be killed. I was afraid of the pain. I did get shot in the back, but it didn't hurt.

      Then I woke up.

    13. Assorted hatsu-yume fragments

      So... first dream-bits of the new year.

      1. Riding horses to pack down soil that was recently plowed up.

      2. Eating entire bags of carrots and celery at a picnic because I didn't want a ham sandwich.

      3. A strange version of Bejeweled keeps booting itself and my laptop up.

      4. Finding our family's cat, Sophie, in a cabin at a national park that had evidence of a bear break-in.

      5. Investigating a strange hotel where the exterior doors all lead to different dimensions. One of my expedition partners has a wolf on a leash. Near one of the doors, there's a falcon of some sort with a reddish-brown back sitting on a dead tree. I say something along the lines of "Hey, Mr. Falcon" and it perches on my arm. As we all head toward the door, I notice a hot orange glow through the cracks of the door. The wolf starts straying in the opposite direction while its handler tries to pull it back toward the door. I ask the falcon if it thinks going through the door is a good idea, and it responds negatively. So instead of exploring that part of the hotel, we end up eating falafel and scrambled eggs from a food cart.

      My family and I were going on some sort of road trip, and it was in the afternoon. The first thing I recall about this dream is that we were pulled over to the side of a long highway with no other cars in sight. There was, however, a farm-like setting along the side of the road. There was a tall white wooden fence surrounding the massive property our van was parked in front of, as well as a couple different barns inside the property. They had the average wooden walls with red and white colors, but flat roofs instead of the rounded ones, which were also made of wood. I could infer this without actually seeing the roofs.

      I didn't look back at the van, but my mother, sister, and I simply walked a few feet and got to the farm property. The stakes in the white fence were extremely far apart, so it was easy to enter. There was an upside down L-shaped post with a hanging wooden sign, painted yellow. It read "welcome" in white letters. When we passed the sign, there was a sharp turn to the left, and a narrow path leading directly into a very large barn. On either side of us was the same type of fence, wide stakes, except it was the height of my waist now.

      We passed a few people on the other side of the fence; one was a girl wearing a cowboy hat, and she was probably around twelve years old. She was also holding a small horse under her arm, as if carrying a pillow. The horse's legs were pretty short, and it probably weighed only seven or eight pounds.

      We arrived at the large barn. The tall rectangular-shaped door was open, so we walked inside. It was big inside; I'd estimate it was at least one hundred feet long and at least fifty feet wide. At the entrance that we came in, along both sides of the barn were stalls; inside them stood horses. I saw hay piled in a few of them as we walked down the barn, and once we got around halfway there were no more stalls against the walls. At the end of the barn, there were three square-shaped holes in the top of the wall, around four by four feet. There were long rectangular planks of wood, placed parallel to each other, going upwards to make stairs.

      That was where we'd be sleeping tonight, and I knew it was getting dark. I was the last person to crawl up the stairs and into the small attic-like room. It was tiny, probably half the size of a kid's bedroom. There was one king-sized mattress on the floor in there, and there was only a bit of actual floorspace left to put our belongings. "I'm not sleeping in here if this is how small a room it is," I whined.

      Tale of the Races




      Entry 2: May 2009

      I was in the wilderness with some old man who lived out there. There was a heavy snow storm coming down on us as well. We were not in any type of shelter, just standing in the forest. The old man and I were looking over some paperwork he had on the human body. Just then we noticed two horses racing down the mountainside. I realized it was my brother and my younger cousin. Then I magically knew there was a man at the top of the mountain you paid $79 to ride a horse. The horses were pounding down the mountainside seemingly out of control. One was a chestnut and the other was a bay...they both had rope halters on them. Then I noticed a herd of deer on the road side....
