Non-dream stuff; woke up early not remembering any dreams in particular. Eventually fell asleep again and then woke up at around 10, then being woken up "more" by the door. Some non-lucid stuff: Dream fragment 1: I remember seeing a big (to me) naval vessel from camera-like perspective, I think it would be a destroyer or frigate-class, which I think are the two smallest classes. I remember getting the "keys" for it, but don't remember actually driving it. Dream fragment 2: I remember being in a car like a modern Nissan and I think I was in one of the front seats, though initially my point of view was at a low height but the car was moving on its own, as there was nobody else in it, and then I was a little bit concerned about how fast it was going to go down a hill, because it was a T-intersection and I was trying to put a seatbelt on. Dream sequence 3: I remember a place like a campus or open gardens for some sort of educational complex. It was day, but probably cloudy as things looked a bit grey and I don't remember sharp shadows. Probably around mid-day. Me and my partner were walking along some concrete slabs that were the paving in this trimmed grass garden area, he was ahead of me, and I was seemingly fixed on my phone and we walked through a building and I realised I was holding an apple pencil on my right hand, to which I thought "wait why did I bring this but forget the tablet?" so I put it in my right pocket. I seem to remember I was wearing my casual pants, as it were, which I likely wouldn't have been in the context of the dream if it were waking life. We got to a T or corner with the paving and went up some long but not very high steps, only about 3 or 4 steps, into a building. As we walked in I remember metallic catwalks and fluorescent tubes on the ceiling. There was a reception with a lady, with glasses. She was focused on whatever she was doing and I was still fixated on my phone, noticing on some level that my posture was very bad. We went up some metal stairs on to the catwalk tier and pushed a metal door and entered a room. It had dark wooden board flooring, the walls were a similar colour, and the end of the room had 3 or 4 massive old-style industrial windows. I made particular note as we walked into the room that there were some paintings; portraits of contemporary, people, oddly enough at least one of them was a teacher from the university I went to in waking life. Then there was a man standing in the room, I realised, as I turned after reaching a point near the windows, and he had his arms crossed but not because of us or anything, was just his pose, and some big men started to come in carrying some stuff, which I didn't make note of. The man addressed me and said "do you have an order?", to which I said "do I have an order?", realising suddenly what he meant after I asked it, I said, "no, I don't have an order", to which he replied something about it being best we weren't in that room then. I did somehow feel that we had entered a room we weren't allowed to enter. Anyway, he walked out with us from the room, as we had nothing else to look at inside anyway and the men were busy bringing stuff in. As we walked back out into the main lobby, it was transformed from before; now it matched the other room, dark warm, red-ish wooden colours. We went down the stairs, which now were wooden stairs with red carpet of some kind, and I said something and it sounded loud, to which the receptionist, still there and now seeing to some other people, asked me to be quiet or something to that effect. The man replied something to me and we kept walking down until we reached a window with an alcove, and the three of us sat there, as there was a red pillow thing. For some reason now I remember being sat at a table, but in any case we were having a conversation about something and the man asked something like "were you looking for the old paintings?" (I think I mentioned something of it) and he said how that other room used to have very famous paintings and started recounting which ones. Oddly enough, my partner who is not artist, understood perfectly what paintings they were and who the painters were. I was simply confused, as I never tend to remember most painters, even famous ones, despite being an artist myself. I remember my partner and the man were on the other side of the table now, it was definitely a table now and made of the same dark red hued wood, looking glossy. My partner started saying something about "how ridiculous it is that my phone now has to level up to increase its battery life" and as I watched them talk about whatever I suddenly noticed I was getting a bit of a visual aura. I do remember something about my own phone having recently maxed some leveling up attribute and having taken many years to do so. There was some kind of transition and I don't remember what the context was now but I saw things in a camera-like way and could highlight people and objects in an orange-tinted interface and examine what they had on them remotely. Some notes: In fragment 2, the context within the car was a clear dream-sign, but unfortunately in that context I never seem to remember to RC because of how "important" it seems to do certain things in that moment. In the long dream sequence, it's odd that I was so fixated on my phone, only explained slightly by the dream with the leveling up thing.Normally it could be the other way around, like if we've gone shopping, my partner will be the one looking at the phone and I'll be the one leading our walking. The building we entered felt like a library, both before and after we went into that room with the paintings. The apple pencil is an item I've only recently come into contact with, so it's interesting that it has actually carried over to my dreams, but it did feel odd that its accompanying tablet wasn't present.I remember feeling like I could get embarrassed for carrying the apple pencil while looking at my phone which is an android phone. Somehow I felt there was some conflict. The fact that I explicitly made note of my posture but did not try to correct it could have been a cue to do a RC. Some physiotherapy I received recently was all about posture and it made me far more conscious of it than I have ever been before, so I will correct posture more often than not when I notice it's an issue.I felt like the man we spoke to was the curator of the art in that building. It was curious to see the receptionist, as she looked like the one from my other recent dream journal entry, and her reception desk was not too dissimilar despite the completely altered context. The visual aura in the dream was odd. I started to cover my eyes to check that it was one in the dream, as I would in waking life. It's the first time this has ever happened in a dream.Me and my dad get visual auras at complete random. There is no associated migraine or pain for them as there are for many people, and the cause of our visual auras seems to be unknown. The aura in the dream didn't look quite like what happens in waking life but it did bother me and obstruct my field of view.
Non-dream stuff; woke up at around 8:30 and had a dream (the first fragment) but couldn't remember it that well so went back to sleep again and woke up at 10:10 and then came to the computer to write down all of the non-lucid dream stuff below. It took about 40mins to write everything, not counting the notes... Dream fragment 1: I don't remember much here, but I was at a place similar to the house I'm in now, in waking life. It was day, near the end of the day and I was out at the back as were other neighbours. The walls were short, instead of being tall like in waking life and the view was not of a town but of the countryside. This area seemed to resemble an area a bit west of where I live. There was a black cat. And it was playful and smart and it would catch mice and handle them differently to other cats. At one point I'm sure this cat talked. But something was odd about him, he was too smart and so I grabbed him and realised his fur was not that of a cat at all, even though he looked like a black cat, he was some sort of little raccoon thing that had tricked us and recently there were fires out in peoples back gardens, small fires, and I knew he was the cause, as I saw him play with matches before. I got rid of him somehow, in a way that wouldn't make him return, but I don't remember what I did. (Have the distinct impression I gave him a good smacking for being a cheeky little thing) Dream sequence 2: I was in the car with my partner, I was as usual in my passenger seat and we were driving along a motorway. It was night and there was nobody else on the road. At times my perception of vision changed, to outside the car to scenic views of the road. We went around a long corner and I could see mountains in the distnae as well as forest closer by. I remember seeing displays with double green arrows on them, like it was a racetrack or something, but it wasn't, even in the dream's context. As we kept going we reached a part where the 3-lane road was splitting into two 2-lane roads, one which ramped down. We continued head on and then there were some cars on-coming on one of the lanes and their driving looked a bit funny; as we reached the end of this road segment we realised that had been a one-way 2-lane road and just everyone else was avoiding us. I remember we were waiting in a queue to get into a petrol station to get fuel, and it was day at this point. Dream sequence 3: I remember being at some sort of hall, that looked like a supermarket really, but there were big theatre curtains and lights and I was there supposedly with my partner, but he looked different, though I felt it was him in the dream. Then there was another man, a dream-character I've not seen and he looked smug. He approached us and there was some sort of crew getting things ready for presenting him and in the dream I was aware that my partner had to go with this guy to the stage for some reason. They gave this man the cue to go on stage (which was not raised, since this was a supermarket...) and I peeked from behind the curtain and saw the spotlights focus on him. I looked at my partner saying "come on you gotta get on there" and he didn't say anything and started to look pale white, and I asked some relatives of this other man what should we do and they were shrugging and saying they didn't know. Eventually we both went on to the stage and the smug man was surrounded by upper-class looking people and when we approached him he smiled at us and welcomed us but we could see he had that "I'm actually really angry" smile. The next thing I remember was that I was in some sort of mine or cave, and now things looked like a game, but the smug man was here somewhere too and my partner was at a house and I just knew where it was. I got on a mine cart of some description and sped up, trying to "remember" (in the dream context) where to go, going over some abyss on the rails at one point and then reaching a split and deciding to continue going the way I was already going. I reached an end and though the caves were dark I distinctly remember they looked a dark de-saturated blue. The smug man had caught up and was here already, and I was starting to want to get away aster. Here there was a wooden door and for some reason I knew it just led me to more caves so I opened up some interface and "pressed" a H key which made me start using an item or spell. It teleported me to the house my partner was at, which was like it was out of Hanzel and Gretel but bigger and as a mansion. It was day and there were some clouds. I walked in and told my partner the man was coming. I saw a glossy cobalt coloured camera and went up to it and punched it with my right fist and then grabbed it by the tripod and smashed it against a window until it was nothing. I said to my partner in a fake eastern european accent; "not very good spy" and I smiled at myself. Then I saw through the windows a big blue truck approach. At first I thought he was gonna hit the house, as it was a massive truck and looked like a petrol tanker. But instead he blocked the front of the house with it, but again, job poorly done because I could still use the front door, and I got out and quickly hid somewhere on a bush before he could see me and as he got out of the driver seat I pounced at him, gripping him by the shoulders initially and then attacking him with my fists and he tried spitting on me and blowing on my face and I ignored it and got a claw weapon out and started scratching the man all over (who now looked like a sweaty redneck and not a smug man at all), and he struggled and I saw damage numbers fly all over the place and he asked with surprise something like "how can you deal so much damage?!". I defeated him and I got in the truck and my "camera" changed to third person view of the vehicle, which was taller than the house and I drove off against some trees that just got knocked down and kept my momentum (that wouldn't happen so easily in waking life) and I realised this was actually a missile truck, loaded with 18 missiles; on a control interface I saw an interesting option of "teleport payload to target" and I remember I could see a top-down view as a map of the local region; I tried the option and unfortunately I could not see the target I wanted in range, so I drove the truck further, into a city. By the time I reached the city I'd damaged the truck a bit with some clumsy driving through forests and some of the payload was gone, I was down to 11 missiles and I was going to look for a target again, when I saw some man in a suit come toward the truck and waving at me all like "oh no no no!"; there was a small sub-station behind him and the dream more or less ended here. Some notes: - The presence of fire in the first dream fragment was probably related to the fact that last night shortly before bed there a car fire out back. So the little mischievous animal was more than likely a representation of whoever might have done it. When I realised the creature was not at all a cat I did think it was very odd, and through most of the dream there was a nagging doubt in my mind about it. - Throughout the entirety of dream sequence 3, my partner was very passive, and though he did say things back at times, I really don't remember what he said in any detail. - The map in dream sequence 3 reminded me of Fallout 4 and the capitol wasteland from Fallout 3, as well. - There were many times through all sequences and fragments which would have been good prompts for doing a RC. Unfortunately the game-like nature of sequence 3 made it exceptionally difficult to question anything, as I was too entrenched in my role. Dream fragment 1 and 2 were the ones that made me think "that was odd" a few times, in the dream. - The missile payload truck was not at all like anything specific from games I've played but rather was dream-generated, as was were many other aspects of sequence 3. - I remember a music played when I was on the truck approaching the city, something like "the bad guy's gonna get it! hyaaa! the bad guy's gonna get it!" but it reminded me, even in the dream, of the intro song to the game Borderlands 1 (the music being Ain't no rest for the wicked).

Non-dream stuff: Woke up and got up at about 9:20. Remembered a few segments from the last dream I was having. Sequence 1: I was looking at an interface for picking a map in a real-time strategy game, for some sort of Command&Conquer game. I remember my partner being next to me and as I generated a random map with a "continental" style, I thought it looked a bit different and too small compared to most, but my partner said "no, have a look at the preview, it will be fine", so I clicked on preview and then my vision went into the screen and the map thumbnail image; as it zoomed in, the map became detailed and I viewed it from above but my vision kept zooming in closer and then there were 3 player factions, one being mine, another being my partner's, and the last one being someone else or an AI. We all started with some vehicles specific to our factions and the cars were racing through beaches and roads, with my vision still zooming now on a car I had, which looked a bit like something out of 1940s Germany, with white/grey colours and chrome accents. The AI had some military trucks, including one with a mounted gun, and they were chasing me and gaining speed, but I overtook my partner's cars and they blocked the chasing trucks a bit. I remember now seeing in first person, and the car was stopped near a road tunnel that oddly enough was just after an intersection with a main road and a road that went around a bend behind a hill. I remember it was a clear sunny day and there were tropical forests. Sequence 2: Then I was at an area with pavement in a town, this was an open area on or near a quay and was reminiscent of my native country; there were subway entrances and this was all still part of the game somehow, I felt. In one of the subway entrances some gangsters were running up the stairs with sub-machine guns and I threw grenades and rockets at them, watching them not blow into pieces but fly around with wonky physics, just as one would expect with most games. Their "AI" was also poor; they ran against walls and corners sometimes and just idled even though I was being aggressive. Then I noticed I had a toolbar thing on my interface and picked a massive plywood plank item, and placed it over the entrance; for some reason it was steady standing on its own and was large enough that nobody could pass; I read a little tooltip on the interface saying I'd recently placed a blocking barrier and could not do so again for 15 minutes, but that I could upgrade any existing ones to increase their duration; this barrier I placed was going to last for 1 hour, apparently. The people that showed up the steps from behind the barrier, that I could still see just over the top, looked a lot less threatening, and in fact some were complaining like "hey I gotta get to work, come on!". I pretended to not care. The dream ended at some point soon. Some notes: Although I separated both sequences into their own parts, they were part of the same dream, I just can't remember what went between them exactly; I don't remember a sudden transition from one to the other. The RTS map interface looked a bit like C&C:Generals and Warcraft 3; I remember the players had assigned colours and numbers, like for teams. The other generated maps were more representative of real Earth continents, picked at random, but the one I thought was odd just looked like a coastal section of a place. The fact that the whole of the sequences took place in a game context makes it very difficult for me to remember to question reality. Even when I am playing games in waking life and remember to do reality checks, it is difficult for me to pick good moments, i.e. weird ones, because games are generally very predictable and the only "weird" things that ever happen are bugs, the frequency of which depend solely on the specific game. The vehicles in the RTS were supposed to be base-starting vehicles, so in a way I should have remembered to do a RC over this, because in the dream context, the dream-awareness indicated something different from what actually happened.
Morning of July 26, 2018. Thursday. Reading time: 1 min 24 sec. Readability score: 66. I am driving an unfamiliar car. The driver’s side is on the left (implying America). Brenda is on the passenger side. There are no threads of my conscious self at this point. We are going north on Highway Seventeen (the original one). An outdoor seminar on dreaming is occurring in an area we pass to my right. Brenda cheerfully points and says, “Bobbleheads.” (This is what I call people who talk or write about dreams or their so-called meaning while having no understanding of the dream state.) Something about the scenario seems off, and I try to consider what it is. Brenda’s head is now slumping forward. Her head is Betty Boop’s. I wonder if she is a clockwork girl that has suddenly malfunctioned. For a moment, I consider I may get into trouble for stealing or taking advantage of a movie prop. Her forehead seems to have an electrical outlet (the American type). Glancing at Brenda (or Betty Boop) again later, I see her changing into different dream characters at the rate of about two per second, cycling through many diverse personas. Finally, “she” becomes George Harrison and continues to talk about Bobbleheads. We continue on our road trip with a cheerful disposition. We arrive at a music studio. George has a meeting with several music producers. Once in the room, however, it seems to be a class on economics. Going up to the front, where a chart on an easel displays an upward trend (a linear representation of the waking process), I see that all the students are equidistant identical ceramic chicks (yet still living entities), which turn their heads left to look at us. They chirp similar clouds of small triangles, circles, and squares, mostly of red, blue, green, and yellow, of which float about above their heads for short periods of time. They seem to be asking why most humans are unable to communicate with them. (This is emerging consciousness simulacra of which first occurred around age three. What wonderful nostalgia.) (Zsuzsanna and I were talking about “Route 66” yesterday, though she has never seen the show.)
INT. TUNNEL - NIGHT I drive into a dark tunnel through a mountain or under a river. The power must be out. I hear a voice announcing over the radio or telepathically in my head: "There is a UFO overhead." (I.e., in the sky over the tunnel.) I become LUCID but I sense I'm not very deeply asleep and I don't know what to do with the lucidity anyway (not having made a clear plan beforehand), so I pull myself awake. What a waste of consciousness!

I am driving my Subaru on what feels like a Californian freeway. The lanes seem small, as well as the freeway itself. It may be only a few lanes wide. There are also other, similar freeways traveling in all directions around this one. The resulting surrounding is one of complexity and crowdedness, as well as one of depth - a literal spaghetti bowl of freeway. I am down towards the bottom, where a portion of the sunlight cannot reach. Outside my window, there is a view of the complex concrete in dim lighting that I think would constitute an intriguing and captivating photograph. The proximity and near standstill of traffic allows me to hear a woman in a car somewhere above me cough. Now, as I drive up a slight incline, I realize that my car is not even started. There are no lights on on the display. I turn the key to start it, but it only chokes. Still, the car is accelerating and braking, albeit less than in a fully functioning manner; stepping forcefully on the accelerators seems to give the car less power than it has while climbing a steep hill. I've now parked somewhere out here (there seems to be nothing else around) and watch a few people walk by. I must've stopped to try and resolve my vehicle issue, as I spot a couple standing around that I decide to approach for assistance. The man is perhaps in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing a sleeveless tank top that contributes to his stereotypically redneck appearance. He is accompanied by a cliché blonde girlfriend. I approach and relay my situation, asking if he can help, saying I have my own jumper cables. He coolly and impassively tells me he can help, telling me he too has his own cables, instructing me to bring my car around. I am grateful, though I hadn't expected a decline, as it really is quick and isn't a major inconvenience. Ignoring his unnecessary addition about his own cables, I go to get my vehicle. As I drive back, I am unable to find the man again. There are three tiny and partially filled parking lots on this uneven terrain, and I drive through all of them to no avail. I am in some building with the cousins. This place feels like an arcade or some type of attraction. It is large, dim, and airy. We pass through a large something that seems like a bounce house when I realize they have left me behind. It produces a bitter sadness, neither of the two components outweighing the other, the combination resulting in an ambivalent resolution. I think I end up talking with some others, though not entirely in an attempt to fill the transient void. Now, I am crawling out of an entrance to this structure. The material does not give like inflated vinyl should - it is hard and slick. There is a small wall on which one must down climb, and this is a sort of game. There is something similar to a jump rope that the climber draws taut across their body, resulting in the removal of their body below that line. The climber must then attempt to climb up/down. I position this rope to have it cut my legs off first, wanting to save my arms. After the line is positioned, the inferior body parts then dissipate, like the common conception of something disappearing by magic. (fragment) I am in an opulent house, in which there is a room occupying a large corner. There may or may not be a bath tub. There is a bed, with sheets of white and very light hues. The space is very minimal, aiding in its elegance. I think that I am staying here and that this is my room. I think I am showing it to my girlfriend Melissa. It feels like this is downstairs.
In the dream, I’m watching a film. I think I was watching it on a screen at first, but in the part I can remember well, I’m just standing on scene, watching as events unfold—or, rather, fail to unfold, as this seems to be the kind of film where nothing much happens. The main (and only present) character, a man, is in a kind of apartment with a desk or a dresser that he’s sitting at. There are no walls: I can see directly into the strange landscape beyond, where the horizon is dominated by mountain peaks, including two volcanoes. The action is divided into distinct segments, with each one ending anticlimactically. In the last one, the man calls his girlfriend on his cellphone, but nobody picks up. This seems to illustrate the unremitting futility of life—or at least you’d think it does, based on the dramatic treatment it gets. But once that comes to an end, all sorts of odd things start happening: a nearby pool of water starts to bubble, and one of the volcanoes erupts. I’m now in the backseat of a car with several other people, trying to get somewhere safe. But then the other volcano, which is straight ahead of us, also begins to erupt, the bright magma spilling over the rim. The woman who’s driving comments on it. I tell her she’s got the name wrong—she’s thinking of the other volcano. The one ahead of us is Vesuvius. And then I start laughing because of course what matters in this situation is making sure we get the name of the volcano that kills us right. I’m also laughing because I’m fully aware of how ridiculous this geography is. I know none of this is real, and that makes it hilarious. As if in acknowledgement, all kinds of odd and impossible things are appearing out of nowhere around us, even as I watch. A gigantic man wearing a striped shirt materializes off to our left, over a large body of water. He steps from island to island, striding in the same direction our car is going. I’m still laughing too hard to speak, and so it’s someone else in the car who says it: “I found Waldo.” They also seem to find the whole thing funny. 28.4.18
At first, I dreamt that I was in the front yard of my friend (Z)'s house. Our dads were sorting our clothes, yelling at us and getting rid of what's "inappropriate" (Basically just crop tops and shorts of any kind.) I remember there was a dark blue crop top T-shirt with three rings near the bottom, which would expose the stomach area. (Z)'s dad said, "Oh, hell no." And threw it into the "inappropriate" pile. I also feel like I remembered seeing a long sleeved crop top with a Disney character on it, like Winnie the Pooh or something. At one point, other people came, and we were all trying to sneak away from the piles of clothes. I remember it was pouring rain at this point. We were pretty successful, until I realized that someone else needed to escape. My American history lessons must be leaking into my dreams, because, at this point, I ended up helping a runaway slave. He was in his late teens or early 20's, with short hair and (I think) a light blue, button up shirt. Although the rest of the environment was modern (cars, etc.), the guy that I was helping looked and acted like he was still from the 17 or 1800's. So, my mind decided that we were in the 1700's, although there were still cars and modern streets all around. We got into a car, which had an interesting design. It was wide and rounded, reminding me of something out of The Lorax. I'm pretty sure that it was red, and on the inside, the levers and stuff were a lot longer (easy access?). The doors were also different; the hinges were around where the middle of the windshield would be, so it was... Interesting. He drove for a bit, quickly and recklessly, to go north quicker. After a few minutes, we realized that if someone saw him driving, they would report him as a runaway. Because of this, we switched spots (while the car was still in motion), and decided to pretend that he was my slave to avoid suspicion. I think I woke up at some point in the middle of this dream. I had another dream, but all I remember is that I was walking in a forest, on some kind of quest. There were patches of snow, and a path, which led into a cave. I don't remember any of what happened, but it was I nice environment.
I am going on a trip with some other people—vague impressions of preparation, of using a computer in a lab to take care of some paperwork I need for it—some kind of registration, maybe. It seems to be a long trip. We are traveling by car, and after a while, we stop at a gas station. I go inside to find something to eat and am pleasantly surprised to discover they have marzipan here. I pick out a couple small bars of it, along with some other food for the road. A little while later, I’m in a room belonging to my friend Nina—it seems to be in the same building, with the gas station just on the other side of a door. I’m examining some small statues on the shelves. The statues illustrate the “eight ways of dying”—which actually seems to signify ways of living, the idea being that they’re lifestyles that don’t really deserve to be called living. There are two complete sets of the eight, and they both go about illustrating them in different ways. I looked at all of the statues, but the only one I remember vividly was the eighth one of the second set, which I was looking at as I woke up. The key symbol seems to be a snail, representing an unthinking, animal-like life. But while the sculptor of the first set has just portrayed the snail, the sculptor of the second—who seems to have a more fanciful take on things in general—has portrayed the snail crawling over a human corpse in a colorful stage of decomposition. Where’s Nina so I can ask her about these, I wonder. I can also vaguely remember a couple other statues, also from the second set. The second statue showed a woman lying on a massage table surrounded by jars and bottles and things, and the fourth didn’t seem to have any living figures at all, but looked like a mineralogist’s work table might—rocks of various kinds scattered over it and a jar of rocks in the center. 15.4.18 (Note: I think the Buddhist ideas here are pretty clear, but it may be less obvious that it’s also drawing pretty heavily from Plato.)
I had many dreams this morning, pretty much all focused on landscapes and scenery. I didn't actually record them throughout the night so I thought I'd share here, sort of going through my thought process. I was playing minecraft I believe, a new update that introduced a large height limit and bigger and taller biomes. The mountains were large, the cliffs were tall, and the grass was spread wide. There weren't as many trees as one would come to expect. As I flew around and explored the view became more lifelike and less blocky. There was a real neat sheet of ice that went from a lake all the way up this mountainside. I tried to get a better look at it, but I was distracted by the other cool things around. Everything I saw gave me a sense of amazement, even though there was not much really to look at. I saw a big row of some sort of structure. They seemed to be cave entrances, or dungeons or something of the sort. There must have been over 50 of them side by side, and they had redstone mechanics to get inside. I left them alone and flew higher to better investigate the way this mountain was built. I think the dream above was influenced by this post from reddit, even though the two look nothing alike. I woke up somewhere around here. Realized I was in the same position I had been when I went to sleep. I was on my side facing the left which is the opposite side I normally lie on. I normally find this position hard to fall asleep in. I turned over on my other side and feel back asleep I now found myself trying to explore more of the area I was in before, however it looked nothing like it did before. I wasn't in minecraft anymore. I was in a wooded area of a mountainous forest. There was a lot of debris and trash lying around. It was kind of like exploring a place long abandoned. There were the typical rusted cars and fallen trees that looked like someone made them into shelters. This particular dream felt like it happened a few times throughout the night. I woke up from the previous dream lying again on my side facing to the right. I lied on my back and went back to sleep. I was now at the waiting room at the Dentist. I was called in at the same time my dad was in the other room. The dream skipped past the actual cleaning part, and went straight to when the appointment was over. I was standing outside the door of the dentist's room and my dad had come out of the room he was in. I could hear my dentist tell me my teeth were good and to keep doing what I have been doing with my teeth. She then said she still had some work to do but I walked away.. I said to my family that she was clearly lying. She even paused before she said what she did. This is something a dentist actually did tell me once and it caused me to actually stop taking care of my teeth for quite some time. I knew my teeth were bad, yet the dentist in the dream was being lazy and also didn't want to hurt my feelings. We left the building before mother could get her teeth checked. At some point throughout the night I realized I was actually in a dream. I couldn't see much. The dream felt sort of unstable in that it kept fading to the void. I tried engaging my senses but it didn't seem to help. I touched a wall but couldn't really feel it. I tried walking around and grabbing a ladder but it was starting to feel like I was watching myself do it instead of doing it myself. I got to the top and looked at my hands and they were all blurry. It was like my eyes were crossed. I did indeed have 10 fingers, but I couldn't focus on what I saw. I woke up fairly quickly. The dream took place in a shack on a mountain. Must have been a beautiful view outside, but alas, it was not meant to be. Another cool dream was exploring a house I had seen. Actually come to think of it the house appeared out of nowhere. I recall being in a very tall cave. There was what looked like mincraft tnt lining the ceiling and walls far away, but mostly it was just a dimly lit open area. Like it was all excavated out for some project. I really felt at home(hah get it) here. I wanted to explore and see what cool things may be in here, but suddenly I saw a house forming around me. I started to get irritated that the cave was disappearing around me just for some stupid house, but I looked around the newfound environment anyway. It was a modern house with all new appliances and glossed marble floors. It was a single story home with perhaps 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. I say 3 because when I got to the end of the house there was a bathroom and then a bedroom. I felt disappointed that I had reached the end of the open house exploration without seeing anything that really caught my eye. Until, at least, I saw a small doorway in the bedroom to another room. It was an odd shaped door and it led to another bathroom. I was interested now, and I saw the bathroom had a urinal, claw tub, and a large and expensive shower. I was sold on the house now. This extra bathroom made the whole house worth it. I was again in the forest, kind of like the one before with the abandoned car and such. This time I had myself a dog. It was either a lab or a mastiff and it was on a rather short leash. It led the way as we explored the area and tried to find civilization. It wasn't long before we got into a town and I had to pee. I saw a street sign with the town name on it but I don't remember now where I was. I gave up on the idea of relieving myself due to there being no way to deal with the dog without the fear of someone stealing him if I tied him up somewhere. The dog and I swiftly left the city and went onto the next, going through yet another forest. I found some tree to wet and we continued our journey. We would up in another town and the dream ended. I "woke up" in a car without my shoes on. My family texted me to meet them at some restaurant. I got up after a few moments and noticed it was very early dawn and my dog from the previous dream as happily sitting at the end of the road. I noticed a bank across the way and saw my family's car in the parking lot. I walked over and they told me they were going to the restaurant next door, but had to pick up cash first. I agreed to meet them there, but had to go back to the car to get my shoes...
I’m an observer watching a scene unfold on a boat—but really, it’s more that I’m looking at it and the people on deck while being aware of the situation playing out there in a more abstract way. There are some documents I need for traveling on this boat, and I’m not sure if I have them or if I need to go through some process to get them. The scene shifts—I’m now exiting a bus. But instead of winding up outside as I had expected, I’ve simply stepped onto another bus. I quickly take a seat behind the two women who entered ahead of me and wonder where this one is going to take me. The scene shifts again—this time, I’m waking up in the back of a car my parents are driving. It feels as if I’m younger in this one. We’ve just stopped by a building I recognize as the one where my father’s workshop is. That means we’re not far from home now. I fall back asleep. The scene shifts yet again—this time, I’m in a grocery store. And this time, I know it’s a dream, although I still seem to think the last bit with the car was waking reality. I think it would be best if I sleep for the remainder of the trip, and so that means making sure this dream lasts. I look around. There don’t seem to be anyone here but me. It's reminiscent of the specialty grocer’s down the street from my old flat on Svornosti. That means there should be a counter over in the corner where I can get some coffee. I go over and find the counter is there, and that there’s somebody behind it. There’s nothing displaying prices, so I just put down three bills, possibly dollars, which seems like a more than fair price. But the woman tells me I have to make the coffee myself using the machine there. It’s an odd contraption, like no coffee maker I’ve ever used, but after messing around for it a bit, I get it to pour some coffee out - Turkish style, with the grounds at the bottom. I drink it. This isn’t a conscious attempt at stabilization, I don’t think—just something that struck me as a pretty good idea—but it may have had that effect, as it’s normally hard for me to stay asleep so late in the morning. I consider where to go from here. Perhaps home, where the car was headed—only I have no idea where I am right now. But if I fly, perhaps I’ll see some familiar landmark from the air and be able to find my way from there. And to fly, I’ll need a high place to launch from—so it looks like I’m headed to the roof. In the meantime, I’ve noticed six or seven wolves between two shelves on the upper story, which is a sort of balcony over one half of the store. They all trot off in a single direction as I watch. Are they coming after me? But I wasn’t planning on sticking around here in any case. I climb a shelf and phase through the ceiling. I now find myself in a room lit by a warm light. A long mahogany table laid with bright red dishes is some distance off—set for an elaborate meal, it looks like. It's quite pretty. I continue on my way, climbing another shelf and jumping through the ceiling. This time I’m in an attic-like room near a big calico cat that, in typical feline fashion, seems entirely unimpressed by my unusual method of transportation. But it’s about then that I wake up. I also wake up remembering something else—not something I heard, but words that seemed to be impressed on my mind. It went something like: “Use the gifts you’ve been given, human.” I don’t know who said it—perhaps it was the cat?—but it seemed somehow independent from the rest of the dream, like it was taking place on a different level. Good advice, in any case. 12.4.18 - (Happy Lucid Dreaming Day, everyone!)
-1-I was walking to a friend's house while it was raining. Also, I was suddenly going 100mph in a 35 zone. I slowed down, but I couldn't read the speedometer. A cop was present, but he left. Later, I found that the minivan I was driving was suddenly on its side on a walkway, with me standing on top of it. The walkway had almost no friction. People even slid under the car, ending up okay. Everyone got out and cleared the area when I told them to. After that, I slid the van effortlessly to the road. -2-I was at some boot camp for some reason. We had to race around a dirt course with yellow posts in the ground. This was inside a room of a seemingly one-story building that was poorly maintained. Nothing made any sense. -3-A bald guy was supposed to drive 3 people to "school", including me in a light-blue 90s car. He stopped in the middle of the driveway near the road, while I signaled for him to wait for me. I wanted to grab a water bottle, so I ran back to my house. The weather was sunny/clear with little wind. The deciduous trees were full of leaves (they shouldn't be; it's only March). -4-I was stuck inside Aperture above ground, only a wall or two away from the outside. All exits seemed to be inaccessible. For some reason, I found another person (some random dude). I proposed the idea of building a map of the area. Luckily, I found a cluttered room with everything I need inside.
-1-A world where I switched houses every week. At the last house I remember, there was a cop car circling it on its property. When I followed it all the way around the house, I found that it had stopped next to an ambulance. -F-Something about Smash Bros. Melee
I was at the location of my old house about 100 years prior. Multiple houses were missing, and some streets were only driveways. A thunderstorm was going, and a gray, modern vehicle passed by, which I thought nothing of. A few seconds later, I stood on the street and saw a bunch of skyscrapers on the lake and to the south. This could have triggered lucidity, as much of this made absolutely no sense. Time-travel that wasn't even accurate, skyscrapers right next to logging roads and randomly placed, and a modern vehicle in the past. Heck, even the idea of being near my old house should have given me a cue. The only thing that made real sense was the coloration of the skyscrapers, and the cloudy weather. Later on, I was running in traffic at night when I became lucid and started my routine. I got through about a third of it before waking up unexpectedly. I was standing on a very wide 2-lane road with fir trees on both sides. [New Scene] On the way to Grays Harbor (still 10-20 miles out), I commented that the tide was in, because the water level equaled the height of the perfectly flat road, which was partially and uniformly flooded. Fir trees were present in random places. The weather was cloudy and extremely calm. Everything seemed to be increasingly more dead (except for the trees) the closer I got to the coast. The area felt static and unchanging. Lucid Time: 50-80 sec
Day 18: Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM Woke up at: 6:40 AM Dream 14: For Dear Life I remember exiting out of my grandma's neighborhood during the dead of night. My brother and brother-in-law and I are sitting in the backseat of an oversized truck, which my sister is driving. None of us are wearing our seatbelts, nor did I find any around. I'm clinging onto my seat as my sister swerves around town. The seat is straight metal, so even trying to maintain a grip is impossible. We stopped by a water fountain as a red light mercifully saved me from falling off the car. Dream 15: Expected Laziness I'm in an unidentifiable interior setting. It resembles a library, combined with some sort of coffee shop. It seems some people from school are preparing for a race. All of them are getting into position, and I manage to sneak my way past them and into another room. Two people I know are there, N.Rio and Mike. Both of them are sitting on a black couch in front of a window. Looking out the window, there was another white cuboidal building off in the distance. N.Rio and Mike are both on their phones. And since mine was (And still is) broken, I just stared at what they were watching. I remember coming across as awkward and nosy, but beyond that there wasn't much else. Dream 16: Rolling Chairs are Awesome Now it's lunchtime. Talking to some DCs, I bring up the undeniable fact that rolling chairs are the best thing one could ask for. To demonstrate my point, I tell them I can get from place to place without even getting out of my chair. My destination? The other side of the cafeteria. Rolling around at the speed of sound, I race my way past the cluttered cafeteria and to a table where the lunch ladies are sitting, across from where I was at. I hand them my chair, pretending that there's something wrong with it, and I ask them if I can go to the restroom. I guess I thought it was weird that I'd show up there for no reason and head back, so I improvised a reason for doing so when I got there. Day 19: Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM Woke up at: 7:30 AM Dream 17: Dang it... I remember having a really vivid dream today, but my two puppies woke me up so I forgot all about it. They bark when they're hungry, thirsty, angry, happy, jealous, or when they feel anything at all.
