    1. 4/27/18: Runaway

      by , 04-27-2018 at 09:24 PM
At first, I dreamt that I was in the front yard of my friend (Z)'s house. Our dads were sorting our clothes, yelling at us and getting rid of what's "inappropriate" (Basically just crop tops and shorts of any kind.) I remember there was a dark blue crop top T-shirt with three rings near the bottom, which would expose the stomach area. (Z)'s dad said, "Oh, hell no." And threw it into the "inappropriate" pile. I also feel like I remembered seeing a long sleeved crop top with a Disney character on it, like Winnie the Pooh or something. At one point, other people came, and we were all trying to sneak away from the piles of clothes. I remember it was pouring rain at this point. We were pretty successful, until I realized that someone else needed to escape.
My American history lessons must be leaking into my dreams, because, at this point, I ended up helping a runaway slave. He was in his late teens or early 20's, with short hair and (I think) a light blue, button up shirt.
Although the rest of the environment was modern (cars, etc.), the guy that I was helping looked and acted like he was still from the 17 or 1800's. So, my mind decided that we were in the 1700's, although there were still cars and modern streets all around. We got into a car, which had an interesting design. It was wide and rounded, reminding me of something out of The Lorax. I'm pretty sure that it was red, and on the inside, the levers and stuff were a lot longer (easy access?). The doors were also different; the hinges were around where the middle of the windshield would be, so it was... Interesting.
He drove for a bit, quickly and recklessly, to go north quicker. After a few minutes, we realized that if someone saw him driving, they would report him as a runaway. Because of this, we switched spots (while the car was still in motion), and decided to pretend that he was my slave to avoid suspicion. I think I woke up at some point in the middle of this dream.

I had another dream, but all I remember is that I was walking in a forest, on some kind of quest. There were patches of snow, and a path, which led into a cave. I don't remember any of what happened, but it was I nice environment.
    2. Eight Ways of Dying

by , 04-15-2018 at 09:14 PM (The Fourth Factor)
I am going on a trip with some other people—vague impressions of preparation, of using a computer in a lab to take care of some paperwork I need for it—some kind of registration, maybe.

It seems to be a long trip. We are traveling by car, and after a while, we stop at a gas station. I go inside to find something to eat and am pleasantly surprised to discover they have marzipan here. I pick out a couple small bars of it, along with some other food for the road.

A little while later, I’m in a room belonging to my friend Nina—it seems to be in the same building, with the gas station just on the other side of a door. I’m examining some small statues on the shelves. The statues illustrate the “eight ways of dying”—which actually seems to signify ways of living, the idea being that they’re lifestyles that don’t really deserve to be called living.

There are two complete sets of the eight, and they both go about illustrating them in different ways. I looked at all of the statues, but the only one I remember vividly was the eighth one of the second set, which I was looking at as I woke up. The key symbol seems to be a snail, representing an unthinking, animal-like life. But while the sculptor of the first set has just portrayed the snail, the sculptor of the second—who seems to have a more fanciful take on things in general—has portrayed the snail crawling over a human corpse in a colorful stage of decomposition. Where’s Nina so I can ask her about these, I wonder.

I can also vaguely remember a couple other statues, also from the second set. The second statue showed a woman lying on a massage table surrounded by jars and bottles and things, and the fourth didn’t seem to have any living figures at all, but looked like a mineralogist’s work table might—rocks of various kinds scattered over it and a jar of rocks in the center.

      15.4.18

(Note: I think the Buddhist ideas here are pretty clear, but it may be less obvious that it’s also drawing pretty heavily from Plato.)

    3. The Dentist, the forests, and the dream house.

      by , 04-15-2018 at 02:15 PM (Exterminate)
I had many dreams this morning, pretty much all focused on landscapes and scenery. I didn't actually record them throughout the night so I thought I'd share here, sort of going through my thought process.

I was playing minecraft I believe, a new update that introduced a large height limit and bigger and taller biomes. The mountains were large, the cliffs were tall, and the grass was spread wide. There weren't as many trees as one would come to expect. As I flew around and explored the view became more lifelike and less blocky. There was a real neat sheet of ice that went from a lake all the way up this mountainside. I tried to get a better look at it, but I was distracted by the other cool things around. Everything I saw gave me a sense of amazement, even though there was not much really to look at. I saw a big row of some sort of structure. They seemed to be cave entrances, or dungeons or something of the sort. There must have been over 50 of them side by side, and they had redstone mechanics to get inside. I left them alone and flew higher to better investigate the way this mountain was built.
I think the dream above was influenced by this post from reddit, even though the two look nothing alike.

I woke up somewhere around here. Realized I was in the same position I had been when I went to sleep. I was on my side facing the left which is the opposite side I normally lie on. I normally find this position hard to fall asleep in. I turned over on my other side and feel back asleep

I now found myself trying to explore more of the area I was in before, however it looked nothing like it did before. I wasn't in minecraft anymore. I was in a wooded area of a mountainous forest. There was a lot of debris and trash lying around. It was kind of like exploring a place long abandoned. There were the typical rusted cars and fallen trees that looked like someone made them into shelters. This particular dream felt like it happened a few times throughout the night.

I woke up from the previous dream lying again on my side facing to the right. I lied on my back and went back to sleep.

I was now at the waiting room at the Dentist. I was called in at the same time my dad was in the other room. The dream skipped past the actual cleaning part, and went straight to when the appointment was over. I was standing outside the door of the dentist's room and my dad had come out of the room he was in. I could hear my dentist tell me my teeth were good and to keep doing what I have been doing with my teeth. She then said she still had some work to do but I walked away.. I said to my family that she was clearly lying. She even paused before she said what she did. This is something a dentist actually did tell me once and it caused me to actually stop taking care of my teeth for quite some time. I knew my teeth were bad, yet the dentist in the dream was being lazy and also didn't want to hurt my feelings. We left the building before mother could get her teeth checked.

At some point throughout the night I realized I was actually in a dream. I couldn't see much. The dream felt sort of unstable in that it kept fading to the void. I tried engaging my senses but it didn't seem to help. I touched a wall but couldn't really feel it. I tried walking around and grabbing a ladder but it was starting to feel like I was watching myself do it instead of doing it myself. I got to the top and looked at my hands and they were all blurry. It was like my eyes were crossed. I did indeed have 10 fingers, but I couldn't focus on what I saw. I woke up fairly quickly. The dream took place in a shack on a mountain. Must have been a beautiful view outside, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Another cool dream was exploring a house I had seen. Actually come to think of it the house appeared out of nowhere. I recall being in a very tall cave. There was what looked like mincraft tnt lining the ceiling and walls far away, but mostly it was just a dimly lit open area. Like it was all excavated out for some project. I really felt at home(hah get it) here. I wanted to explore and see what cool things may be in here, but suddenly I saw a house forming around me. I started to get irritated that the cave was disappearing around me just for some stupid house, but I looked around the newfound environment anyway. It was a modern house with all new appliances and glossed marble floors. It was a single story home with perhaps 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. I say 3 because when I got to the end of the house there was a bathroom and then a bedroom. I felt disappointed that I had reached the end of the open house exploration without seeing anything that really caught my eye. Until, at least, I saw a small doorway in the bedroom to another room. It was an odd shaped door and it led to another bathroom. I was interested now, and I saw the bathroom had a urinal, claw tub, and a large and expensive shower. I was sold on the house now. This extra bathroom made the whole house worth it.

I was again in the forest, kind of like the one before with the abandoned car and such. This time I had myself a dog. It was either a lab or a mastiff and it was on a rather short leash. It led the way as we explored the area and tried to find civilization. It wasn't long before we got into a town and I had to pee. I saw a street sign with the town name on it but I don't remember now where I was. I gave up on the idea of relieving myself due to there being no way to deal with the dog without the fear of someone stealing him if I tied him up somewhere. The dog and I swiftly left the city and went onto the next, going through yet another forest. I found some tree to wet and we continued our journey. We would up in another town and the dream ended.

I "woke up" in a car without my shoes on. My family texted me to meet them at some restaurant. I got up after a few moments and noticed it was very early dawn and my dog from the previous dream as happily sitting at the end of the road. I noticed a bank across the way and saw my family's car in the parking lot. I walked over and they told me they were going to the restaurant next door, but had to pick up cash first. I agreed to meet them there, but had to go back to the car to get my shoes...
    4. The Gifts You've Been Given

by , 04-13-2018 at 12:55 AM (The Fourth Factor)
I’m an observer watching a scene unfold on a boat—but really, it’s more that I’m looking at it and the people on deck while being aware of the situation playing out there in a more abstract way. There are some documents I need for traveling on this boat, and I’m not sure if I have them or if I need to go through some process to get them.

The scene shifts—I’m now exiting a bus. But instead of winding up outside as I had expected, I’ve simply stepped onto another bus. I quickly take a seat behind the two women who entered ahead of me and wonder where this one is going to take me.

The scene shifts again—this time, I’m waking up in the back of a car my parents are driving. It feels as if I’m younger in this one. We’ve just stopped by a building I recognize as the one where my father’s workshop is. That means we’re not far from home now. I fall back asleep.

The scene shifts yet again—this time, I’m in a grocery store. And this time, I know it’s a dream, although I still seem to think the last bit with the car was waking reality. I think it would be best if I sleep for the remainder of the trip, and so that means making sure this dream lasts.

I look around. There don’t seem to be anyone here but me. It's reminiscent of the specialty grocer’s down the street from my old flat on Svornosti. That means there should be a counter over in the corner where I can get some coffee.

I go over and find the counter is there, and that there’s somebody behind it. There’s nothing displaying prices, so I just put down three bills, possibly dollars, which seems like a more than fair price. But the woman tells me I have to make the coffee myself using the machine there. It’s an odd contraption, like no coffee maker I’ve ever used, but after messing around for it a bit, I get it to pour some coffee out - Turkish style, with the grounds at the bottom. I drink it. This isn’t a conscious attempt at stabilization, I don’t think—just something that struck me as a pretty good idea—but it may have had that effect, as it’s normally hard for me to stay asleep so late in the morning.

I consider where to go from here. Perhaps home, where the car was headed—only I have no idea where I am right now. But if I fly, perhaps I’ll see some familiar landmark from the air and be able to find my way from there. And to fly, I’ll need a high place to launch from—so it looks like I’m headed to the roof.

In the meantime, I’ve noticed six or seven wolves between two shelves on the upper story, which is a sort of balcony over one half of the store. They all trot off in a single direction as I watch. Are they coming after me? But I wasn’t planning on sticking around here in any case. I climb a shelf and phase through the ceiling.

I now find myself in a room lit by a warm light. A long mahogany table laid with bright red dishes is some distance off—set for an elaborate meal, it looks like. It's quite pretty. I continue on my way, climbing another shelf and jumping through the ceiling.

This time I’m in an attic-like room near a big calico cat that, in typical feline fashion, seems entirely unimpressed by my unusual method of transportation. But it’s about then that I wake up.

I also wake up remembering something else—not something I heard, but words that seemed to be impressed on my mind. It went something like: “Use the gifts you’ve been given, human.” I don’t know who said it—perhaps it was the cat?—but it seemed somehow independent from the rest of the dream, like it was taking place on a different level. Good advice, in any case.

-1-I was walking to a friend's house while it was raining. Also, I was suddenly going 100mph in a 35 zone. I slowed down, but I couldn't read the speedometer. A cop was present, but he left. Later, I found that the minivan I was driving was suddenly on its side on a walkway, with me standing on top of it. The walkway had almost no friction. People even slid under the car, ending up okay. Everyone got out and cleared the area when I told them to. After that, I slid the van effortlessly to the road.
-2-I was at some boot camp for some reason. We had to race around a dirt course with yellow posts in the ground. This was inside a room of a seemingly one-story building that was poorly maintained. Nothing made any sense.
-3-A bald guy was supposed to drive 3 people to "school", including me in a light-blue 90s car. He stopped in the middle of the driveway near the road, while I signaled for him to wait for me. I wanted to grab a water bottle, so I ran back to my house. The weather was sunny/clear with little wind. The deciduous trees were full of leaves (they shouldn't be; it's only March).
-4-I was stuck inside Aperture above ground, only a wall or two away from the outside. All exits seemed to be inaccessible. For some reason, I found another person (some random dude). I proposed the idea of building a map of the area. Luckily, I found a cluttered room with everything I need inside.

by , 03-18-2018 at 09:59 PM (Fantastical Adventures)
I was at the location of my old house about 100 years prior. Multiple houses were missing, and some streets were only driveways. A thunderstorm was going, and a gray, modern vehicle passed by, which I thought nothing of. A few seconds later, I stood on the street and saw a bunch of skyscrapers on the lake and to the south. This could have triggered lucidity, as much of this made absolutely no sense. Time-travel that wasn't even accurate, skyscrapers right next to logging roads and randomly placed, and a modern vehicle in the past. Heck, even the idea of being near my old house should have given me a cue. The only thing that made real sense was the coloration of the skyscrapers, and the cloudy weather. Later on, I was running in traffic at night when I became lucid and started my routine. I got through about a third of it before waking up unexpectedly. I was standing on a very wide 2-lane road with fir trees on both sides.
      [New Scene]
On the way to Grays Harbor (still 10-20 miles out), I commented that the tide was in, because the water level equaled the height of the perfectly flat road, which was partially and uniformly flooded. Fir trees were present in random places. The weather was cloudy and extremely calm. Everything seemed to be increasingly more dead (except for the trees) the closer I got to the coast. The area felt static and unchanging.

    8. Day 18 and 19: Vivid Burst

by , 03-03-2018 at 04:55 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 18:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 14: For Dear Life

I remember exiting out of my grandma's neighborhood during the dead of night. My brother and brother-in-law and I are sitting in the backseat of an oversized truck, which my sister is driving.

None of us are wearing our seatbelts, nor did I find any around. I'm clinging onto my seat as my sister swerves around town. The seat is straight metal, so even trying to maintain a grip is impossible. We stopped by a water fountain as a red light mercifully saved me from falling off the car.

      Dream 15: Expected Laziness

I'm in an unidentifiable interior setting. It resembles a library, combined with some sort of coffee shop. It seems some people from school are preparing for a race.

All of them are getting into position, and I manage to sneak my way past them and into another room. Two people I know are there, N.Rio and Mike. Both of them are sitting on a black couch in front of a window. Looking out the window, there was another white cuboidal building off in the distance.

N.Rio and Mike are both on their phones. And since mine was (And still is) broken, I just stared at what they were watching. I remember coming across as awkward and nosy, but beyond that there wasn't much else.

Dream 16: Rolling Chairs are Awesome

Now it's lunchtime. Talking to some DCs, I bring up the undeniable fact that rolling chairs are the best thing one could ask for. To demonstrate my point, I tell them I can get from place to place without even getting out of my chair. My destination? The other side of the cafeteria.

Rolling around at the speed of sound, I race my way past the cluttered cafeteria and to a table where the lunch ladies are sitting, across from where I was at. I hand them my chair, pretending that there's something wrong with it, and I ask them if I can go to the restroom. I guess I thought it was weird that I'd show up there for no reason and head back, so I improvised a reason for doing so when I got there.

      Day 19:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 17: Dang it...

I remember having a really vivid dream today, but my two puppies woke me up so I forgot all about it. They bark when they're hungry, thirsty, angry, happy, jealous, or when they feel anything at all.
    9. 18-02-24 Remote Viewing Events

      by , 02-25-2018 at 12:41 AM
Had two or three dreams that were kind of like remote viewing events. I just saw a street, and a car driving. I think it was an Audi. The scene looked so normal and real, like I was somehow seeing a real place somewhere.

    10. The Art of Defying DILD

by , 02-23-2018 at 02:12 PM (Inner World حلم Gamma Waves)
I find myself in the middle of the night in a car. As I am about to start the engine I see a man who is driving from left and then right. He bumps in to the back of another vehicle and flips to the side of the road. I get out of my car to call 911 but I could see ambulance already on their way. I take a few minutes to run to them but eventually they drove right pass me and to the scene.

As I run back to the scene I was introduce to this detective. She tells me we are going over to a part where we suspect dangerous criminals live. I ask her have you done this before and if she'll be okay on her own. She said yes but if she needs my help she'll let me know. We both pulled out our guns and enter the forest in till we appeared on a road.

As we are walking on the road we hear a bullet zoom right passed us. It came from twelve clock , I look at the tree's in the distance and could see a man in a tree made house holding a sniper. I tried shooting at him a couple of times but then someone at the far left in the woods also began shooting. I begin wondering if we were cornered so I told lets take shelter at this abandon cabin not too far from us.

The weather was clouded grey but now began to rain. I look out the cabin windows and could no longer see them at their original positions. I assume they were coming to us inside the cabin. I pulled my knife out and enter inside the first room closet to the door. I told her to hide in the closet that would be straight across the hallway all the way down. So that when they open the door she would have a clear shot.

I decided to leave the room door I was in slightly open so that it could possibly distract them. Even if they enter I would take advantage of the situation by hiding at the side of the door and use the knife in a close up fight. The door opens and I could hear someone footsteps can closer and closer to my room. Then the door brushes against my shoulder, I act on my instincts and turn around to stab him in the neck.

I am surprise when I see it is my brother. Unfortunately I had already stab him as he drops to the floor holding his neck. The shock and confusion made me realize there's no way I could have just killed my brother. I become lucid and told the detective with me that I am going to go get some air. I look out the cabin window and jump while now flying through the tree's. My then flying turned in to floating so I decided to land at a near by road.

I could see people who appeared to be near by neighbors talking to one another while making jokes. A woman who resembled a video game character was having trouble starting her car. I approach it and took her out of it as it was car I wanted to test my driving on. She then runs from me and I notice there's no key. If I had better dream control I would have been able to start it off.

I walk towards the neighbors to see if they had any cars. When I got to them I was puzzled to just hearing them repeating the same phrases to each other and then laughing about it. It happen over and over again so I decided I would rather not talk to them. I then had a false awakening.
    11. Bloody Gums

by , 02-11-2018 at 05:10 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 12:00 A.M.

      Woke up at: 9:00 A.M.

      Nightmare:

I'm in my parents' car when I start picking at the inside of my mouth. There's something...stuck up there.

So, logically of course, I pick at it with a freaking pair of scissors. I finally get that thing out (That think being a piece of my tooth); Then my gums start to bleed. I stuff my mouth inside a towel and wait for it to pass.

My mouth feels numb just thinking about it...
    12. I thought I got a nice new car :(

      by , 02-07-2018 at 04:01 PM (Slash's Mind Cave)
I can't remember how the dream began, but I remember being in the house I grew up in.

I was in the kitchen and saw a really fast, nice, silver car pull into the driveway quickly. I didn't see who was driving it, I was confused. I opened the front door and found it was my mother, and I found that it was a Mercedes AMG. Then I looked up the driveway onto the road and saw another silver Mercades, slightly different, less sporty, sitting on the road just outside the driveway.

I was like "Where did you get this car! It's amazing!"

My mum said "It means you can..." and then something interrupted her, I think it was my sister.

Then I asked again and she can "It's for y..." and she was interrupted again.

I asked one more time and she was interrupted again. "Gahddammit" I thought... I just wanted to confirm the car is for me, but I didn't want to just assume it is.

Then, from the kitchen I saw a really nice modern rally car. Orange and black. It drove really fast into the driveway and did a skid. My mum was like "what the heck". I was like "whoaa did you see that?" Then I think more cars came. I think we assumed it was the car company my mum went to, and they've followed her back, to try sell more cars or something ridiculous like that.

Then I went out to the driveway, and suddenly my whole family was in the house and in the garden and driveway. I used to see my family a lot in waking life, but not so much any more. All my cousins looked young, the age I remember them most at. Now they are all grown up so it was weird to wake up from this.

I remember noticing that I was wearing a woolly jumper that I've been wearing recently in the past few days, IWL. I think I took the jumper off in the dream for some reason.

Then I woke up. During the dream, the whole time I just wanted to drive that Merc AMG. I woke up disappointed

    13. Work, Car, Void

      by , 02-03-2018 at 11:19 AM (Slash's Mind Cave)
Tryna build my recall. As I write this entry I find myself remembering little glimspses of other dreams from the past few days. I won't bother trying to record them but I'll take it as a good sign. I can't even remember this morning's dream in a linear fashion, it's just an explosion of glimpses in my mind.

In my dream, I was in my old job. I've had a few dreams with this particular element in it over the past few months. I also owned my last (late) car again. I drove about in my car before and after work, just like I did in real life. I smoked in the car, just like I used to.

I was late to work, just like I used to be. But I was more late than usual. In fact this lateness has happened in every dream about my old work. I only vaguely remember dropping shopping off to customers.
I remember driving about Glasgow in the work van filled with customer shopping. But only briefly.

I remember a massive element of this dream was "The void" which I've been referring to a lot IWL in my efforts to spread enlightenment. I was teaching people enlightenment throughout the entire dream.

I remember being in my car with an old friend, we were smoking. We went somewhere, I can't remember where, but I was getting later and later for work. I think I eventually said "screw work!" or something along those lines.

      Note to self:
I am noticing "The Void" more and more in-dream. This is really good, it means my enlightenment is truly sinking in. But I have a feeling I can take this further and use it as a sleep/dream yoga. Especially when lucid. I seem to wake up a lot when noticing The Void. I often refer to enlightenment as "super lucidity", so it makes sense. I get super lucid and wake up.

    14. I Guess You Can borrow That; Return With Lucidity

by , 01-31-2018 at 05:06 AM (The Fourth Factor)
I am traveling in a foreign country, driving a car down a dirt road—although there’s a bit of a traffic jam at the moment, and nobody is actually moving except the pedestrians, who walk between the cars and on the side of the road. Two women wearing some kind of sari-like traditional dress walk past. I think about giving them a lift—something I wouldn’t ordinarily consider doing, but they seem particularly trustworthy somehow.

At some point, I suddenly find that the car is full of people, and I’m in the backseat. The two people in the front seats are wearing police uniforms, and two or three other people are standing between the rows of seats. I ask a man in a white business-type shirt standing to my left if this is a police chase, and he confirms that it is. I have heard about this—of officers requisitioning vehicles so they can go after somebody who would otherwise escape them. I suppose that’s OK—not that I get any choice in the matter.

The next thing I remember is walking through a public building, talking with the same man. He’s asking me questions. One is, essentially, whether I can take any time off work. I reply that I can’t. I’m working remotely even now, on this trip. He is concerned that I’m not recovering from something, which he seems to feel is my fault, and wants me to undergo a scan of some kind—he’s holding the equipment now, beside a machine there. This is a little exasperating, as I’m already pretty sure this has to do with some kind of control issue, which isn't exactly news. But what’s more troubling is the fact that he’s mentioning things that happened since the car chase, and I don’t remember anything between now and then. I try to determine how big of a memory gap I’m dealing with. Very shortly afterwards, I conclude that this is not something it’s possible to do without knowing what happened during that time. And at that point, I wake up.

It’s an hour or so after that—after recording the dream and after listening to people being typically noisy atypically early downstairs—that my cell phone rings. Or vibrates, rather, since that’s the setting I keep it on. I’m annoyed since I was almost asleep, and this is such a good opportunity for having a lucid dream. If I ignore it and don’t move, it’ll stop soon enough. But it doesn’t stop after the normal number of rings, and so I finally give up on the dream and get up to shut it off. And that’s when I realize—this is a dream.

This is the part where I figure out what to do, now that I have this opportunity. And right now, what I want to do is go back to the setting of the last dream and figure out what was going on there. I head over to the window and step onto the windowsill, disregarding the glass pane, which obligingly acts as though it didn’t exist.

It is dark out, but the setting I see before me has nothing else in common with what I’d ordinarily see out my window. For one thing, it’s a long way down—the ledge where I’m perched isn’t as high as an airplane would fly, perhaps, but it can’t be that much closer to the earth. The landscape spread out before me is also unfamiliar, and remarkably strange. The ground is uniformly flat, with nothing but houses and trees as far as the eye can see. But every so often, there are tall, thin spires, each set of them closely grouped, apparently made of rock— like giant needles stuck into the earth. Their tips are about level with where I am—in other words, incredibly high—and they’re so disproportionate to the rest of the landscape that they look unnatural.

Looks like I’ll be flying, then. But first—I will it to become daytime and wait for a little while. Nothing happens. Well, that was probably a little unrealistic, but it was worth a try. Anyway, I can see just fine, even with no discernible source of light: everything below me and in the distance is clear and crisply outlined. But seen with night-vision, it’s all dark blue, which will make it less interesting to fly over. (Later on, after waking up, I’ll recall that I intentionally enabled myself to see in the dark in a lucid dream a couple months ago—could it be that it was a lasting modification? That would be interesting.)

I ready myself and launch outwards, extending a set of muscles I only have in dreams, when I choose to: wings. It’s a smooth glide for the most part. There isn’t much in the way of wind up here—as empty and still and silent as it is on the ground far below. Trees, houses, more trees, more houses, and the nearest set of spires, coming ever closer. It’s an odd feeling, being up here in this lonely place, poised and sharply aware and secure somehow.

The next part is difficult to remember—I’m not exactly sure how I managed to find my way back to the building from the first dream, but it seemed to involve flying in a pattern around the spires—a little like dialing the combination of a lock, a little like grabbing the fabric of dream-space and twisting it in exactly the right way. But one way or another, I'm there. The building was full of people before, but now it is dark and empty. And a woman with brown skin and dark hair is standing beside me there—she will take me to the man I want to speak to.

And that’s the point where it would be best to end this account, I think….

I find myself in my childhood school yard with high awareness. The scene is quite dark, but I nevertheless take the time to inspect in detail all of the dream characters that surround me. While some of them look quite ugly or even menacing, I live out the realization that all these people are just a reflection of my mind, they are all me. I spend some time happily shouting this and engaging the DCs.

A bit later, I recall I was planning to do the task of the month (basic ii). A wave of urgency hits me as I remember the month is drawing to end, and also the dream may be over quite soon too. As I walk down the street, I follow the plan in case I found myself outdoors, to look for a mirror on a nearby car.

The dream scene is quite dark, but I am still able to locate a car and move closer to examine my reflection. The image looks a bit smaller than it would in real life, so I lean even closer. I don't look quite like myself initially. The effect seems more like a dream quality issue - the image is quite distorted, although, as the mirror is slightly curved, one would actually expect it to be.

After gazing into the reflection for a while, it starts to resemble me more. My hair is a bit wavy though. Overall, the dream reflection is quite happy. I finally get to the task of making my hair longer, although this proves more challenging than expected. I try to will my hair to become longer, but dream control's not quite working. I then decide to take things into my own hands, literally, and gently pull my hair down to stretch it. This seems to do the trick and it increases in length. I enjoy the completion of the task for a brief moment, waking up shortly afterwards.
