False Awakening
Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid Lucid #219: The Conga Convention I’ve arrived for work at some kind of computer lab where we build or test hardware. Dreamer works here, too, and when I walk into the back room I find her interviewing a candidate, a young woman in her early to mid-20s. Dreamer’s in the middle of having the candidate assemble the scattered parts of a computer, so I decide not to bother them. I return to the front room to find the door blocked with tables and computer parts. I figure that Dreamer moved all this stuff to make room for the interview but I’m confused as to how it all got here. The idea of lucid dreaming crosses my mind, so I try the nose pinch and I’m lucid. My breathing is clumsy and difficult, though, and I lose stability, falling into the void. I rub my hands together and talk out loud to myself about lucid dreaming until a new scene forms where I’m walking through a large, nearly empty room with a few tables against the wall. I think this may be the office again and that Dreamer will be here, but there’s only one unfamiliar, dark-haired woman in her early 30s sitting at the table writing on a clipboard. I walk through a door into a large, brightly lit convention hall, filled with DCs seated at round tables, most of them sitting in front of plates of nondescript convention food. I remember that I need to summon Dreamer for the challenge so I say, “That’s Dreamer right over there,” and turn my gaze to the right while doing this sweeping gesture with my hand. When I turn I see a tiny child (about a foot tall!) with purple hair standing between two of the tables. This mini-Dreamer giggles, hops up in the air, and scampers away. When she’s run about 20 feet, she disappears in a purple flash. Several of the DCs look at me in confusion. This was not what I had in mind, so I circle the room for a while, rubbing my hands together and thinking about how I want to do this. Okay, new plan. I do a vague, sweeping gesture at several tables and say, “Ah, Dreamer, you’re sitting over here.” A very tall woman is hunched over at one of the nearby tables and I see that purple hair cascades all around her head, hiding her face. She’s covered in layers and layers of shawls, rags, and wraps to the point where she just looks like a big pile of rags and hair. The enormous woman begins to stir, slowly unfolding herself to full height. When she finally draws herself up to full height, it’s Dreamer, but a seven-foot-tall (2.1336 meters ) version of herself draped in colorful, purple-hued cloth. She smiles and then walks past me before I can say anything else, vanishing behind me. I’m getting agitated about these summons, so I decide to go for Task of the Month instead. All I can remember is the “get naked” task, so off comes the shirt. Next I whip my pants down, but they get stuck around my shins like I’ve gotten sweaty or something. I get a little annoyed by this and simply will myself to be de-pantsed. Should have thought of that first! The problem is that none of the DCs are taking notice that I’m in my birthday suit! I throw in a few booty-shaking dance moves, hoping for more of a reaction, and now the DCs start picking up on it. They start getting up from their tables, strip off their clothes (only down to underwear, interestingly) and start dancing as well. A big conga line starts forming to my left and after a moment the whole underwear-clad room is conga-ing around the entire place. While all of this is going on, I just watch for a while. As I'm doing this, I experiment with looking away from dream characters and looking back to see how they change. They seem to mostly stay the same except some of the DCs seem to undergo slight changes in make-up or facial appearance. As I’m toying with this persistence trick, an attractive blonde woman in her late 20s drapes her arms around my neck and kisses me. Spoiler for Awkwardness: She tells me that she wants sex, and what do you know? Apparently I do too. But when she removes her undies, her entire body is made of some kind of smooth, rubberized plastic like a life-sized Barbie doll. She positions herself seductively, but the doll effect is so unbelievably off-putting that I decide to just wander to some other part of the room and pretend all of this never happened. The conga line dies down and I seem to be dressed again. The DCs are all dressed and seem to be heading for the exit of the convention hall, and after a bit of wandering I decide to give the Dreamer summon another good shot. As I’m heading toward a double door, I pick one of the women at random and say, “Okay, there’s Dreamer…” One quick morph later and now I’ve finally got a proper, purple-haired, normal-heighted Dreamer walking toward me. I give Dreamer a hug and start walking with her toward the exit, explaining out loud my plans for the dream. She nods and “uh-huh”s along but before we get to any of this, the dream fades out into a false awakening in an outdoor courtyard with a garden. There’s a woman in her late 40s with curly hair standing nearby and I tell her about the dream that I just had. “I just had a lucid dream myself,” she responds. “I’m glad that one ended. It was getting strange. I think that REM cycle was all played out, so I’m up for the morning.” “I’m going for more,” I tell her. “If you just wait long enough, there’s always another REM cycle.” She nods, pondering this. I wander the garden for a bit until the dream fades for good.

7/5/14 Only slept four hours the night before since I couldn't sleep. Had to wake up the next morning early to watch my mom's dogs since she's on vacation. Took a nap on the couch, but didn't have much time since I had lunch planned with my grandpa. Laid in supine position, knowing that it'd increase my chances of a WILD (Also, was more comfortable this way). Took a while to fall asleep. 11:30 a.m. WILD I realized I was dreaming when I waved my hand in front of my face and couldn't see it (heard of this RC check in an article about False Awakenings, which used survey results from three different lucid dreaming websites, including DreamViews!). I heard a repetitive, slightly scary auditory hallucination, but couldn't change it, despite my attempt to change it to a pleasant song. I didn't mind the auditory hallucination, since I was too excited. I could feel my body lifting up (first time experiencing this sensation) like I was going to float and it felt really nice and pleasant. I also at one point felt myself losing the ability to swallow, and remembered that's a sign of a WILD. I think this was before I did the RC. Unfortunately, didn't last long and I woke up shortly after without getting the chance to explore my dream. Didn't leave the couch in my dream. This was the first time experiencing a WILD without feeling fear. I feel my control of my emotions and rationalization is getting stronger in my lucid dreams.
I am listening to one of my favorite bands through earphones, and take the earphones off to do something else, but the music remains at the same volume. I check, and I am still wearing the earphones. I take them off again, being extra sure that I removed them. Holding them in my hand, looking right at them, the music is still at the same volume. I also feel them in my ears at the same time. I drop the pair I'm holding and feel another pair in my ears again. My room mate comes up to me to tell me something, but I can't hear her over the music. I take the earphones out, but the music is still just as loud and I can't hear her over it. I focus really intently on reading her lips, but only get part of what she's saying this way. I take the earphones out several times as she is speaking, but the music never gets quieter. Maybe I'm dreaming? I pinch my nose and cannot breathe. I look at my frame of reference, notice my nose is slightly visible as usual, as well as my face around my eyes. I try to put my finger through my hand, it won't go through. I look at my hands, I have the normal number of fingers: 4 and a thumb on each hand. "I guess I'm just going crazy then" I conclude, still unable to stop the music. I wonder if I am just unable to remove the headphones and am hallucinating my attempts to get them off, or if I am just hearing the music in my head without headphones.... In either case, the music is awesome, so I don't really mind it at all. I sing along for a bit, realizing I don't know the words, I let the song continue. I figured I would know the words if it's in my head, but I don't. I keep taking the earphones out, only to hear the music just the same, and to immediately find the earphones are still in my ears. A large dog is sleeping nearby. Now it is a horse, the size of a huge dog. It has wedged itself comfortably behind some furniture and wants to get out. I move the furniture a little, and it squeezes through, now in dog aspect again. Turning around, it squeezes back into the furniture, between the frame of a table with no top. It is a large fluffy dog at this point, it lays down, completely comfortable and relaxed. I feel relaxed just looking at it curl up over there. I wake up and realize I fell asleep with my headphones on, playing the exact same music. Complete continuity from the dream music to the music I'm hearing now. Maybe I woke up briefly for the RCs, and due to the continuity of music, didn't know I was awake? A crucial element was missing from my RCs however: Truly believing this might in fact be a dream. Instead of this, I was merely wanting it to be a dream.
Non-lucid, semi lucid, lucid, false awakening .../It's night and I'm standing on the roof of a building, seeing the ruins of another one in front of me, it's around 10 floors higher than this, or perhaps it's on the top of a hill. I'm not sure about it. It looks very familiar to me, although I cannot define where have it seen it before. I turn on the bed while I'm still staring at this building, there's something I cannot remember about all of this, I feel it's getting late and I must fall asleep first, perhaps have I seen it in a dream? I lay on the bed while thinking about it. After a while and a couple of turns on the bed, I'm standing again on the roof of this building, I think perhaps I might be already dreaming, so I decide to test it trying to fly to the ruins in front of me. I have no problems in flying there, I turn and see the roof of the building where I was previously standing on. Now I remember! It's a recurrent place from previous dreams. Once again I have a flash of some other dreams that took place on the ruins. I see a door on the roof of the first building and I go flying there. When I'm standing in front of it, I remember some creepy scenes from previous dreams, including some sort of crypt where a funeral took place in the basement of this building. I don't mind about it because of my sex drive is starting to take over and all I want to do now is finding her having sex with somebody else. I get inside the building and go downstairs. I find a room where one of my kids sleeps. Nothing of my interest. I leave it being careful to not wake her up. Then I go to another room. I feel she's there, and I could catch her once more. The door is slightly open, and I can see part of her body. It looks like Yes! She's having fun with somebody else, I see some movements but cannot distinguish if there's another person besides her. I get pretty excited about it. I have to push the door and it takes some time until it's wide open, I feel I'm making to much noise with it. When I get into the room, I see she's just changing her clothes, apparently to wear her sleep clothing. She's alone, I'm little bit disappointed although I'm still on, so I take her and start having some fun/... * Wake up because of the excitement, I make some mental notes before going back to sleep, I don't want to forget about it .../A fly is disturbing the peace of the room. I catch it and remember there's a spider web under the bed. I go there and throw the bug into the web. It gets trapped although moves too fast and is about to fly again. I try to push it against the web when I see a medium spider coming out. Then a second one although bigger which walks on my hand to take the fly. It's disgusting but I don't want to get bitten so I don't move and wait until it takes the fly and runs back to its place. I see some fights take place with the little one/...
So yeah, remember I said that my record of most dreams in one night was 6? Well, from now on that number will be 8! And to make it all even better, we had another LD, an FA but I was smart enough to notice it. One thing I must say is that the evening before, I decided to make and drink 0,5l of orange juice and this morning I also tried SSILD which probably caused the LD. 1. The prison I'm in an armored buss being transported to a jail somewhere in the countryside, we stop and leave the buss however there isn't much security and suddenly I'm holding a bike next to me. It doesn't feel like I'm going to jail, more like going to school, a friend of me is further up ahead on his bike. I shout him to turn around cause that's the female-prison, in the distance I saw a camp with some women walking around in white clothing. Just next to that camp was the male-prison, I saw some men walking around in the same white clothing and walked to the back. I stopped next to a building to put my bike somewhere, infront of the door I planned first but then I thought it could close at night and I wouldn't be able to reach my bike. (The building had some weird overhanging with a fence that could be lowered or something.) Inside that building I knew would be the introduction to the prison and administration. 2. The escape plan I'm entering a garage/barn type of building, in it there are several cars parked in the middle of the room and one car in the upper right corner. It does feel like a prison still, I think we're doing some trip for the day. It's either early in the morning or evening cause it's quiet dark and I feel quiet tired. The plan was that some inmates (including me) that wanted to escape would get in the car in the upper right corner and at that moment the roof would somehow collaps on the other cars, killing the guards and giving us a chance to escape. However nothing happened and we drove away in a convoy. 3. Bio-beer I'm at some expo where they are presenting a fully self-sustaining machine that makes beer, starting from growing the plants and then distilling it... The room was very large, I think they used an old warehouse although the lamps were quiet modern. Between the large machine (Almost the size of the room itself) ran small hallways, visitors walked around looking at the contraption. Then there was a part where you could recieve a cup of beer and taste it, I took one but didn't seem to have a sense of taste, then I saw my sister walking to me. 4. The session I'm watching some film through the eyes of a prisoner, he's sitting in the cantine/session room or something and infront of him sits a guard in riot gear. There are more prisoners in the room with each a riot guard infront of them. The exercise is that the prisoners have to gently beat the riot guards but control themself to not keep punching when they're told to stop or something. The prisoner first tries to just talk with the guard but he responds with gestures that the prisoner must beat him on his chest. Then the prisoner starts beating him, way too hard and way too long. After some time blood starts coming from the guard and another guard has to stop the prisoner. In the end I think the guard survived it though. 5. Boat fail I'm with my sister somewhere near a lake, we both wear winter-jackets and it's really cold. There isn't any snow but it's a tundra climat with vast planes and mountains in the distance, the lake is about a kilometer wide I guess. We have a rubber boat and decide to try and cross the lake, she sits up front and I in the back. After 5 meters the boat sinks and we quickly swim back. We were quiet amused by our fail and were able to laugh about it. Now I wake up, note down the dreams I already had and do SSILD for the next 15 minutes after which I fall asleep in about 20 minutes I think. 6. I-don't-know-what-is-happening-dream I wake up in my bed and there's a small tail (the size of a hair) on my desk in a certain position, then someone I know from school walks in a we talk about the tail and some other stuff. Then I exit my room and suddenly fly around some weird city, then I see an old house in the city that suddenly gets split in half, a deep hole appears in the middle, I see two people in the right half of the house on the upper floor. Then I enter the toilet of my house which has some one-way window in the door, I can look outside but people from outside can't look inside. Then I see my cat somewhere and his tail is in the same position as the tail I saw on my desk. 7. The friendly werewolf* (SSILD) I wake up in my bed and hear my mother swearing cause the cat has peed next to the litter box or something, it's all really blurry and I'm disoriented. I say to myself "You know, this is all really weird, why not do an RC?", as I do the nose-plug I notice I can breath normally. I don't panic but instead relax and lay back in bed, I nearly decided to just go back to sleep cause I still felt tired but then something in my head told me "Dude! This is a dream, you've waited for this, DON'T WASTE IT NOW!". I sat up again and noticed that the dream was still unstable, I catched glimpses of me looking around in my IRL bed and knew that I could wake up any moment. I felt the texture of the bed and concentrated on the dream till it was stable enough to support itself. When I got out of the bed I didn't feel the need to go too extreme, instead I thought about what I could actually do now. I decided to try out a transformation cause I've never done that before, and being as original as I am I choose to become a werewolf! It was morning in the dream and the sun was shining through my bedroom windows but I didn't care! I focused on my right hand, I couldn't see it but I did feel it, I expected it to turn into a claw of a wolf. After some seconds I felt the bones in the hands rapidly growing as if it grew the nails, almost wolverine-style. After some time the transformation stopped and I was able to examine my hand/paw. It looked quiet good for a first try, it had white fur with a bit of yellow which I didn't expect, oh well. Although transforming my hand was cool it wasn't a full transformation, so I thought about my arms transforming now. I felt the fur Climbing up my arms and when it reached my chest I sort of levitated of the ground, shortly after the dream ends. 8. Sniper in training I talk with G-man or someone and I'm a sniper in training, I get a rifle with a scope on it that looks very box-shaped. My first task is to shoot green pacman-ghosts on a pacman game, I look straight down on the game like you do in a normal pacman game. I have no problems aiming the square scope on the green ghosts and I shoot all of them. Then my next task was to shoot decomposing whales that stranded on the beach, they were still alive and panicking and I saw their skin bubbling from all the gas in their body. I walk along a road next to the beach and look for them, some whales aren't decomposing and thus don't have to be shot. I quickly spot a target, a man which I think is a researcher or something stands next to it and I think he has difficulties with the smell of the rotting whale. I shoot the whale and I think my desire for it not to explode because a man stood next to it caused it to remain intact. I walked back and I saw that the road suddenly passed through a tunnel of some sort of green algae, I saw how the waves of the sea breaking on the shore left behind a large amount of green algea and as a wave ran over the road the whole path was covered in it and even elevated by the sheer amount. It looked very dry brittle in a hexagonal-shape and at first I didn't want to step on it cause it looked dirty. However it was strong enough to support my weight and I quickly passed through. Then after that task my next and last task was to find and kill G-man himself. I looked down on some board again like in pacman and saw a military-base/city like map, there were some tanks driving around on it and jeeps. First I had to locate him but I just started shooting all the tanks from above until most of them were destroyed, my bullets seemed to pass armor quiet easy. After most of the tanks and jeeps were down I still hadn't killed G-man, then I could look through the roof of a hangar, in it were 2 more tanks stationed and a large tin can in which I think would be sardines with oil. I destroyed the two tanks but one accidently collided with the tin can and suddenly in the bottom left of my vision I saw a video of G-man in a small can with oil and I saw a hole was pierced in his shell. Then I knew G-man was in the tin can! I kept shooting it and saw in the video how the shell got more and more damaged, G-man looked quiet annoyed/angry and I saw his face being covered in the oil until the got completly crushed by the force of my bullets and the video stopped. Well, it looks like I'll drink another 0,5l of orange juice this evening...

lucid Another lucid dream this morning. I was having a false awakening. I was in bed, sleeping on my back, and couldn't move. At some point I looked over at my phone to see if there are texts and was surprised there weren't any. Not sure if I did this while awake or while dreaming. But when I woke up for real, there were texts. Suddenly, something grabs my foot, and I think it's an intruder. I can't see the figure well, only out of the corner of my eye. He says something. I realize he's my husband, though I wasn't sure, and that he came back home from work early for some reason. Most of my dream is spent in bed, struggling to move, but sometimes I'm out of bed. At one point, I realize I'm dreaming. I wasn't sure, but I decided, why don't I try the thumb/palm RC. At first it didn't go through, but I really wanted to make sure, and then it went through! I realized for sure I was dreaming. However, I was back in bed, still struggling to wake up. I heard a repetitive voice saying something, I forget what. It was annoying and a little scary. I changed it to, "lover" "lover" 'lover", to make it less threatening. It sounded similar to lover before and I only had to change the first syllable. I tried to roll out of my body and control my dream, but I just couldn't move. Eventually, I woke up. non-lucid Before the false awakening dream, I was dreaming about a My Little Pony convention or a convention of some sort (maybe video games) that later turned into a MLP convention at some point. Not sure exactly. It was a place that was opened regularly. You had to be on time or you weren't given a ticket. On your way back, you had to exit through the proper door. The door for people without ticket gave people a punishment and they had to sit in a room for a while for being late. At one point while watching an MLP premier, I saw a young Asian couple with their young son. They were talking about how they think it's okay if he wants to play MLP, but his sister (who wasn't there) must be around if he does. I told them, you know, at first when my kid played MLP I made sure there was a girl around too, but overtime I just didn't care. I was referring to a daycare kid, not my son. But said that I don't know about when he reaches school age whether he'd be bullied or not, but it's fine for now. In a different dream after the MLP convention dream, I dreamed I had a bunch of books to translate, and some of them were MLP books. The books were in English, despite the fact that I translate from Japanese into English. Before all of these dreams, I also had another dream in which I saw a friend that I hadn't seen since Japanese camp back in high school.
12:30-2:30PM Non-lucid I'm in my bed, and I look over at my cat who's lying in my bed. I touch her, and she chirps (she never meows, she only ever makes a high-pitched "brrr!" sound) as she wakes. I go back to sleep (in the dream) and I vaguely remember a shephard, guarding his sheep, on a mountain. He was wearing blue. Then, I wake up.

Hi, I've been having this dream every few months, no patterns that I can see in my daily habits for interpretation (which sucks!) I keep having a dream in which I'm in my bedroom, and I suddenly can't control going to sleep, like something is making me go to sleep. It's an overwhelming feeling that I only resisted fully last night, which led to a very weird series of events. Here's two examples: Dream #1: I was in my bed, it was day time, and I pushed myself up out of bed. I felt an overwhelming need to sleep, and couldn't control it - like something was pushing my whole body down, only no-one was there. This was the first instance of this dream ever occurring, and I tried to resist it because I wanted to do something (I can't remember what). My back was to the door. All of a sudden, I feel hands on the back of my shoulders grabbing me, and I could see them from my peripheral vision - They were like shadows, but felt real. I turned around and I saw my friend, and then I woke up. And then I woke up again. (Dream within a dream). Dream #2: I was again in my bed last night, and I left the hallway light on before I went to sleep. My bedroom door was locked also. In my dream, I push myself up out of bed and I see the hallway light suddenly turn off. I assume my housemate turned it off and think nothing of it. I look at my door and it's ajar, but I'm not sure if it actually is or if I'm just imagining things, so I push myself up out of bed and again feel the overwhelming urge to sleep. This time I succeed in resisting it, but all of a sudden I'm pushed down (by the urge to sleep) and I start rapidly spinning around on my bed. I try to overcome the urge to sleep but it doesn't work, all the while I'm still spinning faster. I finally can move my hands and I start hitting them on my mattress, extremely weirded out and a little scared by this point, I call my housemate, but he doesn't hear me. And then I woke up. The hallway light was as I left it and my door was still locked, as I left it. Funnily enough, I don't notice anything different about my room (dream vs real life) until I wake up. For instance - My dresser was on the other side of the room in dream #1, I had recently moved it from that side to the other side of the room. In dream #2, my laptop was missing from my bedside table, but I could still hear the audio from it, and my bedside table was also missing (and my room was semi-clean for once, ha!). Is this anything that anyone can identify with? Has anyone had a similar dream?
Not my best dream control, but hopefully I can learn from this! Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid Lucid #218: Empty-Handed I hear my oldest son E calling for me. It feels like it’s very early morning and the sun’s still not up yet. I walk through the dark hallway into his room to find him sitting up in his bed. “Daddy! I’m up!” he announces and hops off of the bed. “I’m going to go tell Mommy.” I follow him back down the hall, feeling disappointed that the morning’s starting so early and that I missed my chance to have a lucid. As E starts climbing up into bed to shake Wife awake, I’m hit with a huge wave of regret to have missed out on having a lucid dream. I decide to make one last desperate move and try to phase through the wall, phasing right through and falling into the void. I’m floating through the darkness now so I just relax, rubbing my hands together and repeatedly muttering to myself that “I’m having a lucid dream...” It takes an uncomfortably long time, but after maybe 30 seconds of this, a bright new scene forms around me. It’s mid-morning and I’m outside, standing by the exterior of what looks like a movie theater. I look up at the bright sky and notice that the clouds are moving across each other in all kinds of odd, crisscrossing directions. “I like that!” I shout, pointing up to the clouds. “Very nice!” I experimentally drag my right foot along the pavement and it feels like I’m wearing running shoes. The dream is feeling really stable to me now so I decide that it’s time to summon Dreamer and earn some challenge points. I reach my right hand behind my back and say, “[Dreamer], grab onto my hand!” Nothing at first… then a slight prodding feeling on my hand! I turn around to find a brown-haired woman in her late 30s, hunched over and poking at my hand with her index finger. (I decide that this is definitely not Dreamer.) She’s up really close, staring at my hand like it’s the strangest thing she’s ever seen. I feel frustrated and annoyed that she’s messing with me while I try to summon. “Cut it out!” I say, and she hurries away. Something bad has happened to my confidence at this point, though, and I feel this combined surge of self-doubt, disappointment, and anger, and in a few seconds I wake up.

June 30, 2014 orange text = lucid Closed for Construction It was Monday morning, and I was going about my business in the classes; it was almost break time. We were learning more about running records in my Teaching Literacy class. The teacher called for a break, and I scurried on over to a shop in a neighboring building, where I've been getting my mountain dew and coke lately. I opened the door, which was strange, as the door was usually propped open, and instead of the shop, there were three desks; they were strewn all over the place, not lining up with the walls or with each other. It was then that I remembered the sign I'd seen on Friday, saying that the shop would be closed starting Monday for construction (this sign was actually there, and the shop actually was closed today). There was a construction worker sitting at one of the desks, and at the two other desks were the two women I've seen at the register. The one I've seen most often looked up at me and asked me if she could help me. "Oh, I'm sorry. The shop was going to be closed starting today, wasn't it...?!" I excused myself and left, embarrassed. Daleks and Cylons I was on a college campus that was basically a mixture of my campus, my little brother's campus, and my old high school's grounds (and holy cow, I've dreamed of this place before, too...! I remember now where the library was and even the same courtyard I was now in). I was going to meet my little brother there, because he was going to show me where he spent his days. I saw him, waved him over, and he took me to one of the buildings, though I can't really remember which one it was. We talked about something, but I forgot what. I woke up the next morning and started to get ready for school. I was in my old bedroom, but it's slightly larger feeling, and the bed I had years and years ago was still in there. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, ate a bowl of cereal, and was in the process of packing up my backpack when I realized I needed to get something from the car. I went out to the garage, and rummaged around in the car (it was my dad's olllllld red Honda, which we got rid of 2 years ago) until I found whatever it was (I can't remember what), and then my mom came out saying we needed to leave NOW NOW or she would be late for work. "But I'm not ready yet...! All my stuff is inside!" "Well go get it!" I didn't think much, and ran inside to get my bag, which I hadn't finished packing yet. I plopped down in the car, and asked mom if we could hold up for a sec, because I didn't have all my stuff. "No time to waste, we need to go now." "Why can't I just drive the van on my own?" "Erik needs it because he has to stay late today." "I honestly don't mind waiting up for him at school...!" But we had already pulled out of the driveway. I made one of those longing motions for the retreating house behind me and the things I had left there. We had turned onto the street my old high school was on, except that it was much, much longer and in general larger-scale than it is IRL. I suddenly realized one of the things I'd forgotten was my wallet. I checked my pocket, and found that my debit card was in it, but a load of good that would do me at school. "Come on, mom, I don't have my wallet. I need that." But she didn't say anything, and we came to a road block where Daleks and Cylons [[ Centurions and human models ]] were asking to see my mom's ID (Daleks and Cylons comprised the police force here. I remember feeling a slightly defiant acceptance toward them. The way you'd feel if you were secretly a rebel, but wanted to appear normal to get past the checkpoint) "Ma'am can we see your ID?" Mom handed it over. The Cylon looked through the car at me, in the passenger's seat. "Does she have one, too?" "I do, but I left it at home," I said, glaring at my mom. The Cylon eyed me, then my mom, and then a Dalek that was looking through the passenger window right at me (it was uber creepy). They waved us on, and as mom pulled back onto our course, I suddenly realize: Cylons and Daleks... those are from two different series...! I looked down at my hands: My left was completely normal, but when I looked at my right hand, there was an extra thumb. I blinked, wondering if it was just my eyes playing a trick on me, because it all seemed way too real to be a dream. But the extra thumb was still there, and I was dreaming! I still wasn't totally totally convinced, and so I didn't want to do anything that would cause my death or my mom's death just in case, so I tried to reason with her using my real world logic: "Look, mom, I don't have my ID or my school card. I won't even be able to get into the school!" But she wasn't budging, and so I though, Fuck this shit, I'm waking up. And so I woke up. I was back in my bedroom, and a large office printer in the corner was beeping and whirring, alerting me that the Cylons and Daleks were running a search on my name. I sniggered at my cunning in getting out of that dream, and proceeded to rush into the living room, telling my dad and brother, who were just getting up, "You guys wouldn't remember, since it was a dream, but I just woke up from it." And then my real alarm went off and woke me up. It scared the shit out of me and I jumped at least a foot off my bed. Double false awakening and Lucid FAIL lol.
Morning of June 28, 2014. Saturday. My wife Zsuzsanna’s younger brother George is visiting us at our present address and I am telling him of my unusual dream about a red sailboat. This event actually happens in a longer-lasting false awakening. Zsuzsanna and I are together on our bed and he is also on our bed a bit farther over, with his cellphone. I believe there is an image on his cellphone that has something to do with my other dream, or at least something about sailboats or the ocean. In real life however, I would not consider talking with him about dreams, as he has no interest in anything related to either dreams or spirituality (though that is moot I suppose, as most people have zero understanding of dreams and the nature of the dream state, though Zsuzsanna and I have an advanced understanding - validated of course by the fact she is my literal dream girl, and we share our dreams); so as such, even though this is a false awakening, it is one that represents a highly unlikely scenario, unlike those where you dream you have awakened and are recording your dream in a journal or notepad or are relating it to someone you might be inclined to in reality. The linked primary dream prior to this false awakening involves me floating over the scene where I am looking down at the ocean towards sunrise or sunset. A sailboat passes within my line of vision (seemingly moving “upwards” in my perspective and orientation). Everything in the environment is of a normal natural color except for (eventually) everything related to the sailboat, which appears to be covered in some sort of odd, fluid “paint” which I actually see cover everything relating to the sailboat fairly quickly. The sailboat and everything on it is soon red, including the sails and all the man’s body (skin and hair) and clothes. Everything is completely red all around, somehow more “solid” than just a lighting effect. Later, the sailboat seems to crash onto a beach (and it then seems a few hours earlier than just before rather than logically later - unless it is implied to be the next morning) with no one hurt. There are several people on the beach. The man soon gets out of the sailboat and the colors seem to go back to normal. Typically, red only dominates a dream when my breathing is accelerated (validated by witnesses during my virtually countless experiments with dreams in the 1980s) or when I have slept a little too long, which makes sense here, as a sailboat is both an autosymbolic extension of the physical body (subliminally perceived) and the sails are a breathing analogy as revealed in instances of hypnopompic disclosure (when the meaning of a dream’s autosymbolism surfaces upon waking).

I had recently woken from a short lucid dream, and I was thinking, am I awake in RL? And there my uncle who have left he’s earthly body some years ago, where sitting in a chair. This made me fully lucid again. The time in the morning was around 8 am, because I had waken from a dream and gone back to sleeping and dreaming again in the exact same position before all this. I was sleeping at work. I asked uncle, what are the meaning of you showing up in my dream. He answers. "Throwing up, and sickness.” (I think the last one was sickness. But I am not exactly sure of that.) I try to ask him some more about the meaning of him, but he gives the same answer. He then goes to the toilet and throws up in a strange way. He's body is all erected, but he somehow manage to put he's head in the bowl. I then ask him. "How it was to die of lung cancer (which was not the cause) or was it that?” I asked. He replied "that the pictures had left no doubt that it had been a lung cancer." He also explained something about how it had been, but I cannot remember. I asked him how it was to die and being dead. He said that it was sort of lonely. He also said that for people who prepare, it can be very good. I then ask him if he had some tips for me regarding dying. He answered that in a matter of fact he did had a note for me written down. I said that that probably would not help since this is a dream. He's hand writing was all mixed up, but the paper it was written on was not an ordinary blank sheet. It was a economic report from the Buddhist organization I am a member of. It was typed and I could read it. My teacher had slipped and hurt his leg and the organization was paying for that. The paper was full of similar stuff, and also a bill for filling out. Now the dream went in another direction. It was a family event. There was a living room, where my uncle where sitting. A hall where the toilets where, and a big kitchen. My sister was there in the Kitchen. She told me something about going to a cinema, while at the same time showing me a fantastic lego house somebody had built with here. It had all the windows going outwards. It was a very nice and worm, “big family” setting with lots of people. I said that I already had arranged to go (home?)(With our dad?), so no cinema for me. I am in a car with my dad. (I am often in cars in my dreams.) Now we are at the petrol station, and I am noticing that this car does not have a driving computer. There is quite a few details about the car. I am still sort of semi lucid, but when we drive of, my father has taken the wheel. The scenery looks very real, like the Norwegian farmers countryside. Suddenly somebody is knocking. (This could have been someone knocking on a door in RL.) I taught it came from the roof of the car. I asked my dad if I could open the roof, and he said sure. There my brother was laying and this was so strange that I became fully lucid again. I had just had a big lemon candy in my mouth, like the once my grandmother often gave me when I was a kid. I was tired from sucking it. I took it out and had it in my hand. My hand became sticky. Now I was asking my brother on the roof if he would like to have it. He would, so I gave it to him and licked my hand clean, very satisfied with the strangeness of the situation and the niceness of being together the tree of us. We came to our goal. A house laying on the left side. We were going to set it up and the rest of the family would come. We did not go out of the car, because some people who looked troubled, met up with us. They said that we were late! We had a conversation about this in the car. It came to my understanding that in this place, no one owned a house. It was now the evening and even thou my family had many things there, the time was now so that others could occupy the place legally. This information struck me as something important about the dream world. I was advocating that we should leave them in peace and go to find another place. We were leaving, but in the last moment, we saw somebody loading uncle Tom’s (I have no uncle in RL with that name) DVD’s player into something, and we decided there and then that this had gone far enough! Now this turned in to fight. Sort if lie a role playing computer game. I where a full-blown flying lucid spell caster. I do not remember the spells I used, but electricity was part of it. Even thou thy where more people than us, my powers made it easy for us to make them go away. Our side had also turned in to more people. Some of my best male friends had shown up. Now the demons where coming. (As usual, when I go into a fight in dreams, the first one can be won, but then all hell breaks loose!) A flock of human like bad intended creatures where coming for us over the field. Before I could even word anything my brother and my best friend, Kristian, where going for them like computer game A.I characters. Maybe they were thinking that this would not be a problem with my powers. But I was thinking the opposite. These creatures where immune to physical harm and where throwing petrol and breathing fire. I tried to attack them with fire, but they soon had killed my whole family and chased me away. I tried to fly, but I only managed to go a meter or so of the ground. I was running backwards and defending at the same time, which were not efficient. There was a woman going after me. I decided to turn and run as fast as I could into a forest. I went up a tree, but they were burning the forest. I jumped down from this very high tree and woke to RL. Notes: My uncle who is deceased was named Tore. I have a LD task, which is to heal Tor, a friend of mine, which are very ill. In the dream, I took the knowledge about not having any safe possessions as important information. Failing to help letting go of them, not being persistent enough about my decision to leave the situation.Letting other people influence me. In this dream, I was lucid, but I was following the dream much more than creating it.
Date: 25 Jun Pre bed: 40mg B6 Woke up a million times during the night, but not once attempted to deild/wild, etc. Wbtb: 1/2 latte but was somewhat less wakeful than necessary HI: with Sensei (only team colors this time, my name in green, his in silver ) Fell asleep in rather heavy sleep. LD: I'm using the tram without a ticket and am worried about that but don't realize it's a dream till later. At some point I'm on the street lucid and do some spontaneus flying again. I see this guy from school and decide to fly towards him, where I focus on my hands being on his shoulder and speed fly/zoom to move there. I recall to seek Sensei but decide the dream needs stabilizing and spend a few seconds feeling the texture of the guy's jacket. He says a few words and I probe whether he can talk but he mostly replies with gibberish. We continue down the street and there's another guy with him. It gradually gets darker till it's as dark as night. I gaze at a distant light that's so bright it leaves an after image. I think about asking about this on DV. This doesn't make things better for my vision as everything around fades into darkness. I address the guys and tell them to fix this, that we need some color but the they don't help much. The physical sensations are still here, so I decide to bring back the scene by engaging in action and begin to strip one of the guys. A scene appears in full color but for some reason this has the effect of an FA and I become very concerned about what I'm doing. A moment later wake up.

- I was at a grocery store with a girl I knew from middle school named #74-94. I left the store and started wandering the parking lot and came across #154-434 driving around. I was wondering why he didn't stop for me, as he was my ride, and he clearly saw me. He later came up to me without the truck, and explained he had to return it to someone else. I was a little concerned, explaining now we were stranded. - A friend of mine, #28-22, was on her couch back home and her mother walked in. Her mom, a very short, stout lady, was very open with her sexuality. My friends father was also there and picked up the mother, threw her on the couch, and then picked up a couch nearby. He later opened up a book entitled "Streets in Heaven." - I had a false awakening in which I met my sister, and was explaining to her she should keep a dream journal. She was telling me she joined my work, and was working with the friend from earlier (#28-22). At one point she was in a car with me and my father. We drove by a man named "Arms" who walked with one arm on the ground. At one point my sister left the car and was being dragged by "Arms." I felt uneasy about this, but didn't realize she was in danger. "Arms" collapsed for some reason and my sister was able to get back in our car, explaining how she was captured. My father looked really upset at this, and explained he didn't know or would've shot him. Instead, he started driving towards the collapsed man and attempted to run over him twice. I don't remember if he was successful. - I remember seeing my old roommate, #0192-210, in a bathroom stall. I walked past him and started washing my hands at the sink. Another guy, shorter than me and black, started making some comment about my sister I believe. I remember feeling angry about this, and ignoring the guy.
I went back to bed after an hour or two of being awake cause my training got canceled. 40 minute nap right here from hell: This dream is like...the reason why you do a reality check every time you wake up. I "woke up." There was a chandelier in the middle of my room. It was swaying back and forth. Ugh. That's creepy. I got my camera so I could show Kestrel later, cause that thing was moving on its own. As I recorded the video, I looked into the display. Through the camera, I could see something pushing the chandelier back and forth. It looked like a dementor. I decided now was a good time to leave this room. I "woke up." Ugh thank god, I thought. I sat up in bed. There was a chandelier in the middle of my room....swaying violently. WTF? I did a reality check...dreaming. Honestly, this is not how I wanted to spend a lucid dream. I sighed, and left the room immediately. The halls were really dark and it was hard to see. A cat ran past me. I heard a laugh. I "woke up." Was this over yet? I did a reality check....dreaming. I needed to go find a dream character to hang out with. Maybe that would take my mind off of the creepiness of this entire dream. I waded through the dark hallway until I found the bathroom. There were some housemates in there. Good. I started talking to them about wonderful nothingness and my mind was happily distracted. That was, until it came and found us in the bathroom. A bleeding cat walked in the bathroom. I "woke up." I could feel myself waking up in reality, but it was so hard to get up I felt glued. I felt myself being pushed back into the dream, or maybe I just never even left it. I did a reality check...dreaming. This was such bullshit. It's really easy to say, ohh but Zukin, just distract yourself, do something fun! No...lucid nighmares don't work like that. You can forget, but you haven't really forgotten. And when its an invisible fear like this, it's hard to fight. Anyways, I went downstairs to the living room. It was full of light. My crush was there, and that made me supper happy. I felt safe. I hugged him. I put my hand against the glass window, and willed the glass to slowly crack. Cracks originating from my hand slowly formed until the glass became too weak and I pushed my hand through. It was really beautiful and I did it a few more times. I was having fun with this, until I heard that desperate meowing. The cat, still covered in blood, jumped through the cracked holes in the window. The cat looked at me, and it menacingly smiled. The cat fucking smiled a bloody toothy smile. I "woke up." I did a reality check....dreaming. I left the room immediately, I wasn't even going to look to see if that creepy chandelier was still there. I walked through the halls until I found a fire extinguisher. Foam, foam everywhere. Fuck you creepy ass chandelier-bloody-cat demon. Foam > you. I played in the foam.
