False Awakening

1. A window over water

by , 04-08-2014 at 06:03 PM
I went semi-lucid during a nightmare - a scene involving IRL characters - and wanted to change the scene in order to get away from the nightmare. I had a false awakening - possibly two, memory's vague on this point - either way, I eventually wound up in my IRL bedroom, lucid (now unsure on whether or not I lost lucidity in between).

The room's dark, and I'm frustrated, feeling trapped. I've got the impression I'm stuck in some in-between state, not dreaming properly (whatever that means) and not able to wake myself up, and I'm trying to escape this state. I'm thinking about lack of control, and I look at an object in my hand and turn it into a sword, thinking of this as somewhat pointless, and thinking something about the way the dim light affects this. I find myself moving along the ceiling, as if I'm held up there against my will. There are two windows, and I manage to claw my way over to one while avoiding being pulled toward the other. I slide it open and tear out the screen (I was thinking something I can't recall in detail, something about the way the window responds to my actions by opening or not opening due to it being a part of a dream rather than a physical window), and with great effort manage to crawl through the window.

On the other side, I'm floating over water, surrounded by cliffs and hills covered in snow. It's night. There are wooden buildings and people outside, dressed in clothes from at least a few centuries ago. My perspective is moving, but I'm still partway in the window; when I look behind me, I can see the window hovering in midair. I'm moving toward the town center, and I can hear people talking - not a language I understand, but from some of the words I catch I believe it to be German, or some variant of it. There's some event about to take place, I believe it's something religious, some ritual.

I enter a building. Memory goes spotty here again, but eventually I wound up speaking with an old woman who gave an impression of beauty and power. To her left was a woman sitting asleep in a throne, dressed in a costume that could have been straight from the LotR movie elves - I specifically compared it to a costume while I was looking at her. I wondered if she was Julia. (It's unusual that it's something I wondered about, as opposed to just knowing.) The old woman was telling me about her plans, including something she was going to discard, and I requested that she give me that thing. She was surprised but amused and granted my request, but afterward I thought of this as a missed opportunity - I became distracted by the thing she gave me, I should have just listened and followed along with her.

Dream 1 Title: (Fragment) Bike Ride
Dream 1: I am riding my old BMX bike along the main street of my town. I am with a friend (but I don’t know him in real life). He is wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and dark blue Converse sneakers. He is riding in front of me on a red BMX style bike (the rims have regular spokes). It is a warm summer day. The trees are covered in green leaves. We swerve off the road onto a dirt path which leads behind a chain link fence on our left. I can see tall green grass on both sides of the path, and taller grass around the fence. The fence is old, the galvanized steel has grown gray with spots of rust. We peddle up a slight incline and I can see a sharper incline (about 10 feet high) in front of us. We stop at the bottom. I know the incline leads to rail road tracks. I know we are trying to get to the high school and the tracks won’t take us there. I say, “I think we should go back and stay on the street.” The dream fades and I wake up at 4:15 am.
Dream 2 Title: The Moon Makes Me Lucid (**Lucid**)
Dream 2: I am in my old house, the first house where I lived with my wife and daughter. I am lying on a mattress, under a white comforter. The mattress is on the living room floor near the large front window. The room looks very similar to reality. I can see the yellow painted walls, the white painted steam heater in front of the window, the light colored wood of the hardwood floor, and the large white framed window. I can see the reflection of the moon on the shine of the hardwood floor. Something doesn’t feel right to me. I roll over onto my back and see my wife next to me, on my left (which is the wrong side of the bed for her). She is snuggled under the blanket so I can only see her wavy blond hair and her face from the nose up. Behind her I can see my daughter laying on the floor under a white blanket. Beyond her I can see the fireplace. I turn back to the window. Outside I can see the large maple tree and beneath it the low stone wall. I can see the neighboring houses beyond the tree. I look upward and see a brilliant moon between the bare branches of the tree. I still feel that something isn’t right. I stare at the moon. It is very bright and much larger than I have ever seen it. I can clearly see the craters on the surface. As I stair I start to wonder if I’m dreaming. Then the craters begin to shift and swirl. The bottom section of the moon begins to disappear. Then I remember that I was back at my real home, in bed, just a little while ago. I am lucid without a reality check. I throw the blankets off of me and stand up. I am no longer in the living room. I am now out in the front yard, but the mattress, my daughter, and the fireplace are all there as well. My wife and daughter are sitting up and looking at me. I say, “I’m Dreaming!” Neither respond. I remember my goal to fly into space, but I don’t remember to stabilize the dream. I also remember that last time I tried to jump to fly it wake me up. I levitate off the ground and float up into the tree branches. I’m annoyed as the branches poke me and I worry I will get tangled. I float away from the tree and begin to fly upward. I am feeling such joy at being lucid again. My eyes are on the night sky, which is now overcast. I will myself to go faster, I want to hit supersonic speed and leave the atmosphere as quickly as possible. I can feel the wind on my face and the g-force increase as it pushed the skin on my face back. I can still only see the clouds and darkness above me. I worry that the dream is going to collapse so I decided to look down at the ground so I have something more upon which to focus. I awaken. I am back in the front yard of my old house laying on some blankets. I am no longer lucid. I can clearly see the yellow vinyl siding, the white framed windows, the stone steps leading up to the white side door, the large front window, and the bushes. My wife and daughter are there and are picking up blankets and clothing off the ground. I get up and begin searching for my notebook so I can write down my lucid dream. I am looking under cloths and blanket, but just can’t find it. I’m very annoyed because I don’t want to forget the dream. My in-laws walk out of the door of the house and into the yard. I say to my mother in lay, “I just had a lucid dream.” I start to explain the dream to her, but the dream fades and I awake. It is 4:47 am.
Awake: 4:47 am
Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) D1 = 5; D2 = 12
Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) D1 = 5; D2 = Lucid
Length: (how long it felt like! Because that matters) D1 = 2 min; D2 = 10 min
Emotions: Joy, Annoyance, Worry
Dream Signs: Riding old BMX bike, Being a kid again, Back at old house, laying on a mattress in the living room/font yard
Notes: I took magnesium before bed. I read my dream journal, meditated, visualized being lucid in a dream, stated my intent to wake up after each dream and remember my dreams, and repeated my mantra before I dozed off. I did wake up several times after 4 of my dreams, but couldn’t recall the first 2. I did not get frustrated by the lack of recall. I reminded myself that I am in the early stages of learning and I will continue to improve. I stated my mantra each time I awoke until I dozed back off. This LD happed exactly like my recent ones. I woke up after 4 am from a dream. I made some mental notes about the dream. I stated my mantras as I dozed off. Then, while I was dreaming, my awareness was much higher. I could “feel” that something wasn’t right. Then something trigged me to remember being back in my RL bed shortly before the dream. I do need to work on stabilizing the dream. This particular dream hasn’t left me with as much of a “high” as other recent LDs. I feel it is due to the false awakening. The lucid part of my dream doesn’t feel as vivid to me because I didn’t come straight from lucidity to being awake. I have to work on RCs after all awakenings.
I am going to change my goals for LDs. My #1 priority is to get lucid as often as possible. The experience of being lucid is the best way for me to have more LDs. When I am having them more often then I can start setting goals for what I want to do in the dreams. For now I just want to stabilize the dream, explore and do what I feel like at the time. I just want to gain more experience.

3. Cobraaaaaaaaaaaaa!

by , 04-07-2014 at 05:47 AM (Inside the Mind of Mattlantis)

In this dream, I was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee with a few of my friends, except it had some really weird characters in it. Among them were Cobra, the Power Rangers (yes, all of them), and Sandshrew. The two Ice Climbers also counted as separate characters, and Marth and Ike were in it, even though Roy wasn't. I thought this was odd (in the dream), and I couldn't remember any of these strange characters in the time I had spent playing SMB before, but I just kind of rolled with it (I'm getting more aware in my dreams it seems, but other than the vague lucidity the other night, still no lucidity). We played a few rounds and I got my ass kicked since it had been so long since I played it apparently, then after a while "something" happened and "someone" told me they loved me. I also had a false awakening where I woke up at 3:57 p.m., and I had to work at 4 today. I woke up for real shortly after at about 11 a.m..

4. Reading all the time!

by , 04-06-2014 at 04:05 PM
I'm in an English pub, having an energetic drink. I'm reading that caffeine is not good when you are trying to have lucid dreams ()...
I keep reading and reading news and news.
Every time I finish with a newspaper, I go and buy another one.
I'm tired to read, but I can't help to keep reading and read it all, even the ads!! I even complete a sudoku in the game page!!!
I think I read at least twelve newpapers, English, French, Spanish, Italian newspapers, everything I could!
Finally, I look around and I notice a man in a corner, writing with the left hand.
I recognise George Martin (the author of one of my favourite saga A Song of Ice and Fire).
I'm unsure if I have to go to him and ask if he needs any help to end up with the last two book of his series, as I have some good ideas.
[I]haha soo funny... ME helping HIM to write his book!!!!
I'm 'behind' the dream this night and I laugh at myself, and I think sarcastically ''come on, girl!! Instead of offering him your useless help, ask him when the hell he will publish his new book, as all the world is waiting for him to finish it! [I]

I suddenly leave my seat and I approach him and I ask ''when the hell are you going to publish the book''...
I woke up astonished as I could not believe I asked it for real!!!!!!!!! The ME in the dream NEVER does what I tell her to do!!!!
I tell my dream to my bf and we laugh a lot when I say that I cheekly asked George Martin when the HELL he will publish the new book.
I always complain about it as Martin is so slow to complete the books and I'm anxious to know how the saga will finish!! I say again something like that and I think how many times I said it! AND I WAKE UP!!

5. 5 LDs in a night, can't just let it go.

by , 04-06-2014 at 12:30 PM
I recently had 5 LDs and this is record-breaking so I might as well write them down. Don't wanna forget them.

1st lucid : I'm in the bedroom and I suddenly feel like I need to do a RC. I do the hands one and I have 6 fingers on each hand. I'm quite shocked because the dream is too vivid. I jump out the window and see some random people. This guy with black hair comes towards me and starts singing. I tell him to stop it then he gets angry and leaves.

2nd lucid : I have a FA. I wake up in my bed, do another RC and realize I'm dreaming again. I jump out the window (it's the easiest way to get out of my apartment) and I see anime looking people and humans talking to each other. I walk down the street and see this girl with pink kind of redish hair (ponytail). When she sees me, she runs to me and says hello. I say hello back. She tells me that she needs to drive me home. I tell her that I'm already home but she gets angry and her eyes turn red. She yells at me saying that this is not my home, not my real home. She forces me to go with her by grabbing my hand and pulling me. I yell no and I keep trying to run. She eventually leaves my hand but she says she will come back to me.

3rd lucid : I wake up in another dream and do another RC. Realize I'm dreaming and jump out the window again. It's night outside and I see the moon looking bigger than before. All kind of monsters are walking towards it. I ask a kid why they're walking towards the moon and he tells me that I should go too. I follow them and go through a forest and then I meet some humans.. I ask them why they're here and they say that they came to see the lord.

4th lucid : Bedroom, RC, window. I see people wearing different traditional clothes from countries like Korea, Mexico, Japan, Romania, etc. I see this store that appeared in all of my lucids before and I fly to it and I destroy it.

5th lucid : Same thing. This time I stabilize but for some reason my hands are wet. I see this guy with purple hair talking to other people. I pat him on the back. He looks back at me and he's really tan, has hazel eyes and he is overweight. He is really handsome and he follows me everywhere. There is this girl who runs to me all excited and hugs me. She looks at me and she says that she's really happy to see me and says that she was waiting for me for a long time. She says that someone hosts a party in my BRAIN and that I should go there. I get in a car and tell the driver to drive me to the party. I arrive at this cool big house. There are balloons, clowns and all kind of weird stuff. People were having a lot of fun. There is also a train and people are crazy about it. I enter in the house and it looks exactly like my apartment. I go in the bathroom and the guy with purple hair is taking a bath(except this time he has brown hair). I cover my eyes and say sorry but he keeps yelling at me. I get out of the bathroom and I see that in my grandmother's room is really dark. I get in there and I see a vampire. I run out of it and go in the living room. I look out the window and it's snowing.
6. Haribo!

by , 04-05-2014 at 09:20 AM (Welcome to my dreams!)
1. [Non-Lucid] [False Awakening]
Before I fell asleep I thought to myself I'm going to go look at my phone, I fall asleep before I get the chance, then in a dream I pick up my phone and use it...I wake up so confused then proceed to actually use my phone.

2. [Non-Lucid]
I'm laying in my bed and I open my eyes, theirs a guy in my room doing something, wasn't scared of him as he seemed friendly...for some reason I'm laying on bags of sweets like Haribo or something.

3. [Non-Lucid]
I was in like a sewer system or something with other people and we may be looking for a way out...there are overhead signs telling us what's where, we find a gate with stairs going up behind it, i go open it and some guy opens fire with a machine gun, I quickly get out of the way intact.

7. An explosion of strangeness

by , 04-04-2014 at 05:57 PM
I fell back asleep around 8:30 am. And I had a dream that I was seemingly no longer an alcoholic but able to have fun and party if I wanted too. Then the dream spun into a divergence of reality and obvious non reality- my hallway filled up with water and the bottom dropped out to make it a short pool. I stood looking at the water, feeling a negative presence. I looked up and saw a demon that had black eyes and tried to say something to me but in anger that I was being deceived I yelled at it to go away. "You are a deceiver!, You have no control over me! Get OUT GET OUT GET OUT!" "YOU are Simply a thing of my mind- NOW DISAPPEAR!" And I blew it into dust with my mouth. I then wanting to prove to my self the utter silliness of the situation belly flopped into the pool, and the water felt like condensed air but not wet like water and I levitated myself a few inches from it. I realized the significance of the dream- that I could speak out, when before my voice would become muted and I couldn't hear my self shout. I gained some sort of power this way, mental or spiritual in some way. Between this and the next dream sequence I tried to wake my self up but I couldn't pull myself through to consciences and saw my physical body trying to separate from my spiritual body. It was not going to happen so I let myself slip back into dreaming. Next I remember realizing that I had been on some sort of wild drug and alcohol binge that I could not remember. I had sewed the sides of my arms like I had been sutured for a wound. I realized that this was bad, that I had been completely gone mentally when this happened. I went to my husband and said I know something happened but I cannot remember using or what I did what did I do? He explained to me that at first I was happy and energetic, almost crazy- thinking I could fly and making sounds like a jet engine, then it turned dark. I closed my eyes and I could see flashes of memory almost like circus posters first of the fun and manic episode and then the darkness that took over. He shivered and said that it was something special I could do that. He then said he would remove the stitches from my arm- my father called and I woke up.

I was tossed head long back into the insanity of a nonsensical dream seemingly out of nowhere.
8. 4 Apr: leader of a gang in futuristic world

by , 04-04-2014 at 11:35 AM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

I fell asleep slowly, keeping my awareness, and the plunge was so subtle, that I wasn't sure when I was already asleep or not and both worlds overlapped for a while. I was clearly already visioning a dream world, but every time I moved my hands to do a RC, I was still moving my "real" hands and not the dream hands. It took me a while to finalize the transition. And when I did, I still wasn't sure in what level of reality I was, because I got up from my dream bed and went to a balcony and clearly the world outside was a very large city and not my hometown, but it was so realistic in all its details and sensations, that I chickened at the thought of flying away from the balcony. I decided to do one more RC just to be on the safe side and not kill myself.
When I was absolutely sure, then I flew away over a 10-lane highway and for fun, landed on top of a big truck and surfed it.

I had no clear goal with the dream, so I let the story unfold.
My stunts attract some attention and I gather a group of misfits and adventurers who follow me as their leader. We become a rebel group on this futuristic mad max style world.
Some day I meet a guy I don't fully trust, but he is a bad-ass with some skills and I spend some time with him, to see if he fits in our group. We hijack trucks with materials we can use, but we never hurt anybody. But he attacks a truck with a family and kills the parents of a kid and almost shoots the kid. Needless to say, I kick his ass and make sure he never hurts anyone again. Then I adopt the scared kid and take him to our base. We live in a semi-underground tunnel complex on the outskirts of the suburbs. I love this kid very much and make sure he grows up nicely and in a peaceful environment.
I guess he brings me into maternal mode, because I do much less adventures outside and have become more home-based. I even have a date with a guy and a friend helps me pick up a dress to go out that evening. I leave the kid with a lady who is not human. Her head is hairless and instead is covered in a thick brownish skin with round protuberances of different sizes. But she is the most trustworthy person around, very calm and serene.
This guy I'm going out with, he's like the Hulk, big and green. The babysitter suggest I should wear a green outfit to match, but I disagree, he might think I'm mocking him.
9. Wonderful Distractions

by , 04-02-2014 at 03:43 PM
Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #196: Wonderful Distractions

I’m lying on my side anticipating a lucid dream. I sense the transition into a dream, but my dream body is lying on its side in the same position as my waking life body. I approach this in an OBE style and will myself to roll out of bed onto the floor. I ooze off of the edge of the bed and drift gently to the floor.

My vision is dark at this point, so I spend a moment chilling out and digging my hands into the carpet to build up my physical sensations of the scene. After everything feels right, I stand up and look out over the bed. Wife has completely buried herself under the comforter. I throw the covers back and she sits up, blinking in the daylight which streams in through the window.

I’m struck by the clarity of the scene. There’s a slight haze at the edges of my vision, but even though there’s a dreaminess to everything I see, it all looks incredibly realistic. She gets out of bed and I follow her toward our walk-in closet while I try to remember my goals.

The structure of our closet looks the same as waking life except for the fact that it’s grown much larger. There are two attractive women standing there, an Asian woman and a shorter lady with brown hair, just sort of hanging around and talking to each other. Hanging around three cute DCs makes me forget all other goals and (somewhat complex) sexytime commences.

After a few moments Wife says, “We forgot to close the bedroom door!” as if she’s afraid that the kids will barge in. I reluctantly leave the closet to go check on this, but find that the door’s already shut tight.

“Everything’s fine,” I say, and when I turn back to the closet, the other two women have vanished. I’m also surprised to see that it’s night outside now. I look out through the window and see that there’s a tow truck out front hauling off a cute little car that’s shaped like a phone booth. “Hey check this out!” I tell Wife.

“That’s a shame,” she says. We watch as the tow truck drives off.

When I turn back toward the bed, I see a freckled woman in her early 20s laying on our bed. She’s wearing shorts and flopped on her stomach, reading some kind of pamphlet. I’m too far gone to think of goals at this point, so this leads to some additional sexytime with Wife and this newest DC.

Afterward, I get up from the bed and feel the scene darkening. I look at my hands and I can see the light fading from the dream fast. I dig my hands into the carpet, but before long
I have a false awakening where I hear my father-in-law shout, “3 AM faaaaail!” I'm confused for a moment and then “remember” that a bunch of us are staying at some vacation house and needed to wake up at 3 AM for some reason.

I walk out of the room, feeling sleepy, and see my cousin SU. “Hey, did you hear? JP Morgan is going under.” I’m astonished to hear this.

My brother-in-law Muppet says, “This pisses me off so much.”

“That we’ll wind up bailing out a huge bank?” I ask.

“No,” Muppet says, and launches into a long, disjointed speech about finance. After a while I realize that this person isn’t even Muppet anymore but some guy I don’t recognize. I wonder how I got so confused and eventually pull myself away from the conversation shortly before
the dream ends.
10. Bad Memory (Again)

by , 03-31-2014 at 06:59 PM (Inside the Mind of Mattlantis)
Writing this late in the day so nearly the entire dream is gone. There were actually three though, and the middle one was a false awakening (which seem to be becoming more common) wherein my roommate was walking around the room in the morning and playing loud music (which he would never do while I was asleep). I vaguely recall something to do with spy work but that's about it. I'll post more if I remember later but I doubt I will.

11. Jack and the Beanstalk FAIL

by , 03-29-2014 at 06:54 PM
3/29/14
5:30-7:15

Started out in some random neighborhood. Immediately I realized I was dreaming (SSILD FTW.) For some reason, I was wearing dishwashing gloves. Anyways, I jumped in the air, started flying around. I was looking at the wavy hills of Mexico City, almost slummy but still beautiful. There were no designated areas, all of the buildings were randomly organized together. For instance, a grocery store was right next to a house. I had decided the night before that I would attempt to complete the Jack and the Beanstalk TOTY. First step, need a bean. I found a gas station/marketplace; I landed and found two Hispanic people working there. There was a man standing over the stand and a lady reading a magazine sitting in the corner. I walked over and said,"pinto?" (I'm not racist, I know beans is frijole now.) The guy put his finger in a pot, pulled out a pinto bean and rubbed it onto my hand so that it was smeared. I look back up to him and say again,"pinto?" He rubs another bean into my hand. I starting staring him down. The lady sighs, stands up and present me a giant peanut. It's probably about the size of a basketball. It still has the skin on it, so it's dark purple. I take a deep whiff. Yup, that's a peanut. I smile and say "gracias!" I walk away and start flying. After about 20 seconds of flying I find a hole that had been refilled that is next to a house. I figure it's probably easier to use that than dig a brand new hole. I took off my gloves and dug in. I tried to summon a shovel or something, and then I realized: how was I suppose to dispose of the giant if I didn't have any weapons? I closed my eyes and tried to visualize a bazooka, beside me, and I immediately realized my mistake. DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES IN A LD. I struggled to open my eyes; I did open them, but it was too late. The dream went into a FA.
12. Guess who just had an LD for the first time in months?!

by , 03-29-2014 at 05:47 PM (Dreamer's Dream World ☾)
This girl right here

(Excuse any typos, I typed this down a bit quickly)

I was at some sort of law school for some odd reason. I remember the teachers disliked me I think because I didn't listen to them sometimes. The entire inside of the building was painted gray, had gray carpet, gray furniture, etc. It was a very dull place and made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I was walking down a hall with three or more other students who were dressed in suits. I don't think I was wearing one, just some jeans and a T-shirt like I wear normally. They had stopped to look at some posters at a wall and gave a look of disgust. I don't remember what exactly was on the posters, so I don't really know why they were disgusted by them. We walked into a small office or classroom or something with about four chairs and a desk in front of them. There was nothing on the gray walls and once again all the furniture was gray. A really tall, really buff, bald man had us sit down in the chairs and he didn't look very happy at all. He looked angry and I could tell that made the students next to me uncomfortable. He began speaking in a raised voice about something, however I don't quite remember what he was saying. While the students seemed a bit afraid about what he was saying, I simply sat there calmly. I suddenly knew it was a dream. It took me a little while to actually become lucid, but I eventually got out of the seat and interrupted the man and said "Let me just say something." He stopped and starred at me. I think I put my hands on his shoulders and then said in his face "I'm lucid." and grinned because I was so happy. He looked confused and stammered "W-what?" I told him I'd prove it to him and I started flying up to the ceiling. I flew up several feet, but lost my control and almost fell on my face. Typically flying is incredibly easy for me, but I guess I hadn't put enough concetration into it this time like I usually do. The DC continued to stare at me. I'm pretty sure I convinced him, but just in case I said to him that this was a dream. He said something like "Oh, my God." and then said he guessed I was "off the hook" then and gestured to the door leading out. I walked out and the students starred at me as I left. When I was back in the hallway, I started to feel the dream get blurry and faded and everything felt like it was spinning. I tried to focus on something and touch things around me which helped stabilise it some and keep it from collapsing for a just little bit longer. Eventually I somehow stumbled (I was having a hard time walking and standing because the dream was still spinning some) into a room that looked almost just like my bedroom from my old house in TX. The paint, the bed, lights and posters were pretty much the same. There were stuffed animals on the floor and my rug from my current bedroom was there for some reason. Unfortunately I couldn't stay in the dream any longer and I collapsed onto the rug and started having a bad nose bleed. I starred at the blood on my hand and then I "woke up" in my current bedroom. Except it was a false awakening. Lights were on but I could tell it was dark outside and for some reason my parents were up. I checked my nose for a sign of a nose bleed, but I seemed fine. I was trying to remember the lucid dream and then I woke up in RL.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to keep the dream from collapsing and do anything exciting, but I am very glad to have had another lucid dream! Man, feels so damn good to have a lucid dream again. It's been so long since my last one.

Hoping to have more soon!

Now I'm off to watch the new FiM episode~
13. MILD Talked to my DC Mom in Japanese

Earlier this morning, I had a non-lucid dream about a false awakening at my mom's. I recognized this and did a mantra when falling back to sleep that I am falling asleep in my room, so if I wake up anywhere else, I am dreaming.

Then, comes my MILD!

7:32 am MILD

False awakening lucid at my mom's. I hear the door bell ring and answer it. I know it's a dream because I remember I fell asleep at my apartment. It is one of the daycare moms at the door here to pick up her son, N. I see N, and another daycare kid, M, below me. I look down at M and try testing the gravity. I think he asks me what I am doing and I think I tell him I need to check the gravity because I'm dreaming.

Despite the fact that I know I'm dreaming, the dream feels so weird, it doesn't feel like a dream, except for the fact that I'm levitating. The way in which the dream characters are acting are how they would've in real life.

It takes a bit of effort but I manage to propel myself into the air and levitate after spinning. I see my mom and try to ask her 世界を変えることはできますか? but the words are so hard to get out of my mouth. As I'm struggling to say them she asks, "What?" and once I finally say it she says, "Yes" very briefly and casually in English while looking the other way. She seems distracted by her own reality instead of paying attention to my lucid dream efforts. I'm not sure if she actually understood me.

I wake up because I don't feel fully asleep and am afraid to fall asleep and can feel my paralysis. I'm also afraid I won't be aware of my surroundings in waking life if an intruder breaks in.

After waking up and writing down my dream, I went back to sleep. I had many false awakening dreams in my apartment. I try to focus my brain away from lucid dreaming because at this point I just want to sleep and finally I fall asleep and have four non-lucid dreams.

One of the non-lucid dreams had Japanese Sign Language in it.

9:30 am non-lucid

I have a dream that a boy who knows Japanese Sign Language and who is deaf came to our daycare. He signs the signs for "sign language" "can" "can not do" "question marker" to me. I reply with "can" and am excited. His father however doesn't seem to know how to sign and could hear. I text my friend from the farm dream about how there's a little boy who's native language is JSL at daycare.

Dream
Lucidity
False Awakening

I was having a firefight with some terrorists and I was killing them with a desert eagle that had a laser on it. I remember doing parkour and fighting some hobo calling me a fag before that. I was then with C. Alexander and some black girls watching something on world war 2. I remember saying Germany was not as bad as Japan. Alexander and I then laid together and her grandma got mad so I grabbed my stuff and left for the airport to catch my flight. I missed the exit so I took the next one. I was on a hill and there were a lot of buildings and roads that curved a lot. I got mad because the layout of the parking lot was stupid so I woke up. I had a false awakening. I couldn't move my head and when I tried, I could only move it a little bit. I told myself to wake up again and I did, but it was another false awakening. I did a reality check of my hand and part of it was transparent and would appear and reappear and I went lucid. I got excited and noticed my dream ending. I tried to dream spin but couldn't. I woke up again. This time I was pretty sure it was a real awakening and was started to get scared but upon counting my fingers, I realized I wasn't and I became lucid again.
With my right arm, I grabbed my head and pulled it up, making it possible for me to move it again. As I was getting up, I felt as if my mind was rising, maybe I was having an OBE. I looked at the bed to see if my body was still there but it wasn't. Everything felt so real. My objective for my next lucid dream was to explore the dream scene. I was in my room and went to the kitchen, where a purple desk with a fluffly white and beige cat was sitting on. In the living room was a blue sofa and a white cat sitting on top of it. I was going to ask what they represented but then remembered my other objective: Ask my dream to show my dream guide. I faced the door and said "I want to see my dream guide." I turned around and noticed a radio. That couldn't be it. I turned around again and said "When I turn around, I went her, my dream guide, or him to be right behind me!" As I was saying it, I heard a female voice behind me. I turned around and there was a speaker and a vacuum. I was confused why I would have objects instead of a person. I also had a headphone hanging on my left shoulder. Static was coming through it. I knelt down and asked: "So which one of you is my dream guide?" I heard static and murmurs coming from my headphone. I asked again. "Which one of you is my dream guide?" Suddenly, I hear 2 or more girls say "You are!" at the same time. I know they're saying that I am my dream guide. I rose and repeated "I am..." to not forget what happened, I decided to wake up. I told myself "I need to wake up", and I woke up to the waking world.
15. Indoor Gardening

This lucid is from the morning of 3/24/2014. Still going for Task of the Year!

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #195: Indoor Gardening

I’m working in a busy office setting with my friend “Leroy”. The very popular manager of the office has just been fired and everyone’s gathered to hear a speech from some stuffed shirt corporate guy explaining why this was done.

“Losing a beloved manager is like losing a friend,” says the generic corporate guy.

Leroy farts loudly. I laugh, then turn to him and say, “I’m not sure how many friends you’ll have if you keep doing that.” He doesn’t seem to realize I’m joking and looks hurt. Now I feel sort of bad. I assume he’s sensitive because we just lost our manager.

As the corporate guy drones on and on, I start feeling very stressed. I realize that I’m late for an orchestra concert I’m supposed to be performing in. I sneak out of the meeting, looking for the auditorium. I walk down a long, carpeted hallway and find the auditorium doors on my left. When I step inside, I see that it looks more like a movie theater. I get a sense of how odd this all is and
I’m enormously relieved when I realize that I’m dreaming.

The scene rapidly begins to fade, so I rub my hands together and run back and forth across the front of the theater. It takes a moment, but after maybe 3 or 4 trips from one end of the theater to the other, the visuals all come back.

The theater is large but there are only five seats right next to each other. I recognize one of the theatergoers as my friend “SKR”, but hers is the only familiar face. SKR seems to be looking for something under her seat so I decide not to just focus on tasks rather than trying to communicate.

I start going for Jack and the Beanstalk Task of the Year. I perform a behind-the-back summon of seeds, and my hand comes back with little nuggets attached to long wisps of cotton. I just go ahead like this is good enough and start digging into the floor. The concrete floor scoops easily aside, leaving a nice, shallow hole for the seeds. I stuff them into the dirt, cover it back over, and start looking for my beanstalk to grow.

The shoots start emerging, but when they get to be about 4-5 inches long, they flop over onto their side on the floor. I tug at them a bit but they just feel like limp, frayed green carpet. I give them a tug and try to imagine them shooting skyward, but I’m not able to get tons of energy behind this thought.

Now I see Wife walking in through the doors of the theater. There’s a sensation that’s sort of like waking up and
then I find myself in my in-laws’ house. I “realize” that all of what I just experienced took place inside Unreal Engine 4 and I’ve now returned to the real world.

Wife gives me a stern look. “Do you have anything you should be telling me?”

I sheepishly admit that I skipped out on playing in my orchestra concert so that I could have a lucid dream. She gives a serious nod and walks away. I’m glad she’s not too pissed off about this.
The dream ends...
