    1. Dual Experiences - Two Perspectives Simultaneously (briefly)

by , 10-16-2014 at 03:23 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
At work, I'm in just my underwear. I'm trying to avoid people, especially one creepy guy. I think they wouldn't like seeing me in just my underwear at work. So I look for the bathroom that is more in the back part of the store to stay clear of customers and employees.

I go into the back room where it is, but hear someone at the back door working with their keys to open it. I take off at a sprint - much faster than normal being in just underwear and bare feet. I don't know if they saw me, but I think two of the girls did.

I reach some stairs at the end of the hallway, but as I go to sprint down them, my legs stop moving quickly, and I feel like I'm up to my waist in molasses. It is really hard to move my legs, but they do move slowly with a lot of effort. I think, "This is just like when it happens in my dreams" and consider that I may in fact be dreaming. (It only happens in my dreams)

I decide to think about that once I get a bit further down the stairs just in case I'm not dreaming. Since I might be dreaming, I also try to levitate through the air while also walking. I somehow manage to split my reality into two separate experiences, doing both simultaneously - floating above the stairs slowly, and also walking down them with great effort. Both simultaneous experiences feel like they're totally in my mind. Like when I think of two or more people at once in my mind's eye, imagining what their perspective is, their experience - only more real.
    2. Ball in the Air Game

by , 10-16-2014 at 03:12 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Playing a game of "keep the balloon ball in the air" with a couple girls, we volley it around the living room for a bit, trying to hit it as few times as possible as we pass it between us, and keep it off the ground.

I fall down as I dive for it, managing to keep it off the ground. They are amused by this. One of them is really shy and goes to the top of the stairs. The ball is slowly settling toward the floor. I use telekinesis to bring the ball directly to my hand, hold it there for a few moments, then send it against gravity up to the shy girl.

They are both really surprised by this, and ask how I did it. I try to hide the fact that it was telekinesis and tell them it was just static electricity. The non-shy girl tells me to do it again. I tell her I probably shouldn't show off in public.

    3. Wiley Ice Raft

by , 10-16-2014 at 03:05 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Riding my bicycle on a narrow path through the snow. I stop to let another bicyclist enter the path. As he does, someone else approaches and they block the entire path as they talk. I wait a bit to see if they start moving. They don't. I go to sneak past them, but they shift their stances and block my way. I'm just happy they are having a good conversation. The second guy notices me and lets me through.

As soon as I pass by, I notice a side path that goes to a floating wooden island in an ice river. I ride out to it. The two guys follow me to it because it is a really cool raft that is connected to the path. The two of them ask me where the forest is. They have heard there is an impressive forest around here. There was. I look around at all the tree stumps from where it was all around us, and inform them that it is gone now. Also, it wasn't that impressive in terms of size compared to other forests.

Suddenly, the platform jerks loose from the path, and begins moving through the water. We all hang on, nearly knocked into the river. Stabilizing ourselves, the two of them jump off as we near the shore. As they do so, the raft jerks again as it accelerates rapidly, nearly knocking me off. I hold onto the front edge of it, letting my bike fall into the river as I lay down to stay on it.

It speeds up again, too much for me to hang on, and I fall into the water. Before being left behind completely, I grab onto a small metal ring with one finger and hold onto it with all my might. It is really cold, and I am completely soaked.

Holding on against all odds, I stay with the raft, and manage to pull myself back onto it. It is just coasting now. I lay down on the raft and catch my breath for a bit.

    4. Having to Share a Bed With an Ex (and His Girl), Yard Sale and "Boules", and Old Rooms/Injured Cat

      by , 10-16-2014 at 02:31 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was having to share a bed with Katie S. and one of my exes, Ryan. I was really pissed about it. It was dark in the room and I felt the bed shaking. They were doing it! Are you kidding me?? I was also really pissed because they were together. They had just started dating. For some reason, it made me really mad. Plus, I thought Ryan was married? I thought about that and how his relationship must have ended. I didn't think about the details of what could have happened though.

I remember coming up to the bed at one point and seeing them in it together. I was really pissed at them.

There was more to this dream, but I can't recall it all.

      ~

There was this big yard/garage sale going on throughout the neighborhood. Dallas and I hadn't known about it, and even though we have a ton of stuff we need to get rid of (true IWL), we had no time to get it out, as it was already the afternoon. There were still people walking around and shopping however. I remember seeing this guy walking around in this indoor area with lots of empty shelves. I asked someone, my brother I believe, about how long the garage sale had been going on. He was telling me that some people were still holding theirs this late in the day.

I then was picking out these wads of paper and used coffee filters that were starting to get brown spots on them. They were on a table. They were called boules (pronounced boo-lays). They all had stuff in the middle of them, for example, the used coffee filters had coffee grounds in the middle. I picked them up one by one. I think I was going to sell them.

Someone, Dallas I think, then either threw or shot one of the boules off by this lady. The lady appeared to disappear! I then looked up for the moon in this small cloud break, even though it was daytime, and the moon was gone too! I then saw it starting to reappear. It was some property of the boules that made that happen. Nothing actually went away, it just appeared invisible. It was being explained to me, but I don't remember the details. I then had some loaded in this small double-sided cannon thing. I wanted to try the disappearing act! I shot the cannon, and two fired out, one from each side. One shot close to a lady. When it exploded, red dust came out of it. I don't think anything disappeared though.

We were then looking at a garage sale at furniture that was being sold. It was like walking through a furniture store. We saw all these ugly chairs, many were red, but I can't remember the colors of the rest. This part had something to do with Dallas's mom; I think the chairs had been hers. We then moved on to some couches and chair sets. There was one that was green, and every piece of furniture looked as if it had trees and plants broken out of the soil and growing in the middle of them. A cool art piece, but not practical. In fact, it was kind of ugly. We moved on past that set and onto another green set, though this set looked cheaper and not as artsy; there were no trees in this one. A young black man then stopped us and started trying to give away the furniture for free. I thought he was talking about the tree furniture, and I was afraid Dallas might take it when I DID NOT want it in our home, but he was also talking about the other green, cheap-looking furniture. I examined the green coffee table and saw that it converted into a small pool table. I told Dallas we could use that for a game room. He then asked me what the point of a game room was.

      ~

I was in the playroom of the house I grew up in. I was play fighting a friend. We were using fake lightsabers. It was a game that we had played with each other before. It had something to do with these rings we were wearing; we had to get the ring off the other person. We could also put on an extra ring, but hadn't done so before this game. I went over to this box and started looking through it for a ring that fit. All the rings looked like silver colored bolts. I tried many on, and they were too big. I couldn't find one that fit. Then, something happened that was part of the game that had something to do with me rolling up this, big, round, flat chicken patty thing in wax paper. I did it, which meant I won, but it didn't seem fair for some reason, maybe because my opponent wasn't ready yet or something. Either way, I didn't feel like it was fair.

I then was walking through what appeared to be a mixture of all my childhood homes. It was as big as this wooden house we lived in when I was 4-5 and had rooms similar the first house I remember living in. I was showing this guy around. He seemed to be a bit mentally challenged. I was approaching the room I had when I was very little. It was located on the same side of the house as the one in the first house I remember living in. Before I walked in, I realized I hadn't been in there since I was a little girl. I walked in and stopped dead. I just stared at everything, taking it all in. I felt so strange being in that room. My bed was in the right corner of the room. It seemed much bigger than the bed I used to have. It had a bedspread on it that was split into two different patterns right down the middle. The left side was hot pink and white, and the right was black with maybe some other colors in it, but I only remember black. I looked at all the furniture and stuff; most of the actual objects, like toys and stuff, had been moved out when we moved.

I then moved on to another room, by brother's old room. I announced that it was my brother's old room to the guy I was showing around. I then moved on to the room I had grown up in. It seemed much more comfortable and familiar than my first room, I suppose since I had spent more time in this one. It didn't look anything like any of my old rooms that I can remember. The same thing applied to the objects and stuff though; they had all been moved.

I then went back into my old room and the guy was there printing off labels. It was then like the room was the bakery/store where I work. He had printed a ton of labels. I hoped we needed them all and wouldn't have to go into the system and alter the inventory.

I then went and saw my cat. She was very hurt, but was running around like nothing was wrong. It looked as if she had been cut so deeply with something on her leg/side, that you could see her muscle, which looked like intestines. There was also a spot on her back where she was bleeding. She was very hurt! I figured maybe she got hurt when we were playing with the fake lightsabers. I thought about taking her to the vet, but it was Saturday. I then knew I needed to take her to the animal hospital instead. For some reason, I needed to go to the Dr. as well? Not sure about that part, it is vague in my memory.

I then let my mom know that I was going to take Belle (my cat) to the animal hospital. I don't remember if I talked to her on the phone or if I actually told her in person. We were then at the entrance to the animal hospital, we meaning my mom, my brother and I. I went to get Belle out, but her cage wasn't anywhere to be found. Shit, had I forgotten her? We opened the trunk and she wasn't in there either. I then thought about my mom being able to handle my cat (she is the only one who can besides me without getting growled at, hissed at, and bitten/scratched IWL), so she went back to get her. I stayed and walked into the animal hospital. Instead of an animal hospital, though, it was...a food court. What. The. Fuck. They turned the animal hospital into a damn food court! I then "remembered" the last time I was there, they had been remodeling the place. I "remembered" that they were going to make it into a food court. I walked out. I was so fucking angry! I tried to yell about it being a food court, but all that came out were whispers, no matter how much force I put behind my voice. I eventually got a yell or two out. I then started to punch the wall, but again, no matter how much force I put behind it, it was like I was only lightly tapping the wall. Over and over this happened. It was frustrating. I said to my mom, out loud,
"They turned an animal hospital into a FOOD COURT?! Why would they do that????"

      ~

I find the part where I entered my oldest room to be very intriguing because of the feeling that I had. I can't really explain it, it was a nostalgic/shock/feeling of awe. I'd definitely say there's something to that...

    5. Last night is a bit of a blur... (LD #123)

by , 10-16-2014 at 01:35 PM (Lucid Time!)
My recall went out on vacation last night. I barely hung on to these dreams. But after yesterday, I'm not complaining.

I do recall becoming lucid at one point when I was going to my old high school. It took a little while for lucidity to fight its way into my mind, but I definitely did get it, at least partially.
What followed was some pretty sour flying where I flew a couple of miles and ended up crashing in a woodland area somewhere north of my high school, and found that I was unable to fly any further. I don't know if the area is actually there IWL.

At some point, I lost lucidity and found myself on this pumpkin farm ran buy this crazy old lady.

I can recall something to do with my college, and using DNA samples of dinosaurs to bring them back to life. I think it was a project some biology grad students were doing.

Closer to waking up, I recall a dream that I was a young child. I was playing with my dad and he picked me up and started tickling me. I ended up kicking a glass table and breaking it. My mom and dad started having this big fight about it.
For some reason my family decided rather than just having an argument we would make a courtroom setup in our living room and get my friends' mom to be the judge.
    6. Rocket ship/Time Travel/Frozen Witch

      by , 10-16-2014 at 10:51 AM (The Oneironaut's Odyssey)
      Black: Non-dream
      Blue: Non-lucid
      Red: Lucid

      Dream 1 - Rocket ship
So I'm walking to a door that leads outside of a house, I open it and see outside. There's a giant rocket ship, and this is my 'project' in the dream, to build and launch a giant rocket into space. I get the feeling it's nearly launch time, and there's a barrel in front of me that I need to light, once I do it will launch, but... I realize that I need to clear the area, I shout out to my flatmates that it's going to launch soon and that I need some help. They run off somewhere and start 'clearing the area', I don't seem to really know what I'm doing, I can see another person driving a tanker truck around too. I start moving the aforementioned barrel up to the door, but as I reach the door I realize that no one will be able to get back inside which would be bad, since then they'd we'd all be caught in the blast radius of the rocket. I move it back and call my flatmates to come back inside, then I block the exit off with the barrel again (I suppose my plan was to be able to light it and then dart back inside the house). A major flaw of this, once again, was that I had blocked the entrance to myself >_< so I think to myself that maybe I could run around to the back entrance, but I woke up/forgot the rest.

      Dream 2 - Time Travel
I found this dream peculiar since I don't know if this happened after or as a part of the above dream (like some weird transition occurred). But I think it may as well be called another dream since it was radically different. Me and a kid (maybe 10ish?) seem to have traveled to another world via a closet in his house (I think he was sheltering me in his house or something). I don't recall anything that really happened, but he had brought his friends and I came along to protect them or something (I sort of imagine that he had been slightly troubled prior to entering this world, and that it was like he was escaping). Fast forwarding to the end of the dream, we're in a rush to get back to the portal, like there is about to be some explosive catastrophe (I thought it might have been the rocket from the previous dream). All the kids friends make it to the portal and go through, me and the kid are last, he goes next, diving through, I follow and just in the nick of time (I felt like there was some kind of extreme explosion at that moment, and recall the portal having a thin, twirling vortex of purple energy around the entrance). I jump onto the portal (which is a bed with a blanket) and dive under the sheets. I'm back in the kids room. But something isn't quite right... I'm on the floor, the room is dark, behind me is the kid and the portal. I turn and face them, and something stirs to my left in a bed... It's another kid, the same kid that is looking at me from by the portal. I realize that beside me on my right is another bed, and I'm in it sleeping. The kid who just woke up looks around sleepily, a bit dazed and confused. We had gone back in time. I know though, that everything is going to be okay, because he NEEDED a brother... It felt strange, but I knew his dad would accept him and that they'd just be known as twins, and that the kid would never again feel the need to go into the portal, it would change the events of the future without creating a paradox. It was just... Supposed to be this way?

      Dream 3 - Frozen Witch
Me, a guy and a girl are all best friends. We play near the coast that has a short drop into an expansive ocean. The rocks on the side of this coast are smooth sandstone, and there are fields of green behind them. The sky is stunning, warm and blue with a light breeze. I remember seeing wave cute arches of sandstone and some caves here and there. One day we come across a frozen woman, and somehow knowing she'd be alive (as if she were the Avatar or something) we unfreeze her, somehow... I seem to remember the brightness of the world dimming, things take on a tragic tone, she goes crazy and gets into a showdown with my friend (the guy), they're both very powerful. The only weakness the witch has is water, when it touches her she becomes immobile, so my friend tackles her off the coastal side and into the water. A month passes by without seeing either of them, until my friend washes up on the shore, we rush to help him and I think he ends up being okay.

The dream restarts - an alternate story unfolds.
This time, it isn't us that finds her, but another person, a Sea Goddess. She takes mercy on the soul of the frozen witch, and in her cavern begins to unfreeze her slowly. I discover this by walking into a cave one day, a pool of water lies in the middle of the room that looks clear and tropical. On the other side of the room is the witch, mostly frozen except her head which has a vortex of light blue twirling around her head calmly and slowly. Magic water drips onto her ice-encased body, gradually the water that melts floats up and joins the twirling vortex. The witch is different this time, she has a beautiful and friendly smile. It seemed inevitable though, because somehow later on she and my friend fight again. He rips of his clothes and tackles her into the water. This time she doesn't seem to be defeated by water, and as they thrash in the water they end up stopping. He climbs back onto land, and starts walking off into the distance. Things change now, my friend is a girl and is naked, it doesn't seem sexual though. Also, I've become the witch, I'm in the water, pressed up against the edge of the coast watching her walk away and I have a feeling of wanting her to teach me how to fight.
    7. Lots of Dreams that Keep Continuing a Story

      by , 10-16-2014 at 04:55 AM (Sharpshoey's Lucid Journey)
      Dream 1
My dad and I are going to one of my friend's house to do something. I have a ton of homework to do so I have to be quick. When we get inside, I see my uncle is in handcuffs and has been arrested. Me and my dad break him free of the cuffs. Then me and my dad get back in the car and go to a water park type thing. We have our own swimming room and I am doing my homework in there. My dad is helping me. I see my friends doing tricks down a slide and I join them. I have to slide down the side and land in a small pocket on a thing in the water. I went head first and completed the challenge. There were a few other challenges I had to do and in between I would go back to the room and work on my assignment. Afterwards, I drove us home and I couldn't seem to stop the car before a red light so I had to go through it and I also couldn't turn very well. To turn a little bit it took me a long time.

      Dream 2
I am at my house and K, S, and someone else are there as well playing a game. They are working on a school project together. S keeps hinting that K likes me. (I used to have a little crush on K) Someone who is older then comes over and K lets him in. They then start studying with him. I go to bed.

      Dream 3
Its the next day and I am in my sports marketing class. We have to hand in our assignments that day and I get scared because I didn't have it done. I had regret that I didn't work on it more the last few days. The teacher says we have five minutes to complete it so I rush really fast to get it all done. I cut some things out and then go on you tube because I need to watch a video to get some pictures. (We needed five or six pictures of someone) I had all the pictures but they all changed to pictures of something else so I had to get new pictures. The video switches to a criminal talking. I think he is threatening me. Then T, who is older, grabs a TV and mounts it on the wall so everyone can watch something. It was previously on the floor and I wonder how he can lift it by himself and with only one arm. I also thought the teacher would get mad, but she didn't seem to care.

      Dream 4
I was viewing a commercial where you can get an RH (Retirement home) or a PRH (Personal Retirement Home). (This may have been a commercial from the TV in the previous dream, but I'm not sure. It explained that in the retirement home, you could do whatever you wanted to. Except you have a 20 minute window where you can wash you clothes once a day and a 20 minute window for each meal. It interviewed a lady and she said that if you miss the window for meals you have to eat food that's basically frozen. She said she was always on time to meals but her husband had to eat a frozen meal once and he said it was horrible. (I have in my notes that Andy told her that information. That may have been a name or it was auto correct on my ipod. I'm not sure)

      Dream 5
I am peeing and telling myself that it was helping me or something and I would pee, then stop, then pee again and I kept doing that. I then woke up and had to go to the bathroom really bad.
    8. Running Away/Chinese Restaurant

      by , 10-15-2014 at 11:13 PM
I don't recall much of last night's dream but what I do remember is that me, my brothers and my cousins were supposed to take the train. We were trying to escape a evil organization that was trying to torture people in the city. But when we arrived in front of a building the dragon/monster was released. People started running around like crazy but I ran with my brothers and my cousins somewhere else. I think to the station. There we met groups of kids and people who were hiding out. I think after that I was talking to my mom about something. Than she told me to shade clouds on a piece of paper if I wanted to be forgiven. I shaded them like she told me to than left somewhere. I met up with a couple of dream characters who were supposedly my friends in the dream. We wanted to eat out and a guy suggested we eat at a Chinese restaurant. We went into one and it was big and packed. I couldn't find a table but took a plate so I could get food out the pots filled with food.I tried to pour a spoonful of beans but noticed I didn't get enough on my plate when I walked to the side. Than a guy from our group said "Here, let me help you." But I shouted no and pulled my plate back. I noticed how rude I was being than said"Okay, thanks." And gave him the spoon. He took it and was pouring it on my plate but his hands were shaking.I thought I scared him or hurt his feelings but I didn't ask him anything. We walked to the group but the table was full. The guy with me found a table for us though and we sat down. But something happened that made me walk up than go through a door. I thought about how much trouble I would be in if the restaurant owners saw me in their house through the cameras. Than I woke up.

Chased by a Piranha Plant (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in a busy city and it was night as well as rainy. I was going to pick up my wife to go to the dealership to buy a new car. We had an old car, that looked something like this:

As I got into the car to trade it at the dealership, I noticed that it was a manual car and I had no idea how to drive it, plus the fact that it was an old car I did not trust it. As I started the engine, the car started moving so I was holding it on first. The car was slowly moving but it did not turn off, making me able to park it somehow.

As I got out of the car, I was in a small neighborhood (hence just moving a couple blocks from a busy city.) My car needed to be safe to sell it well, but there was a huge piranha plant trying to eat the car and I was worried he would catch me:

I attempted to drive, but the car did not start...
      alarm clock woke me up.

Annoying neighbor won't allow me to connect with Spirit (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was living in a huge house, massively big in fact, because the den where I was was about the size of a football field. It was made out of wood and it felt like it was somewhat abandoned because the ceiling was falling appart. It looked like stables in a very bad shape, but for some reason we were living there and despite the condition of this house, we had high end furniture at it:

There were several kids living with us, I believe they were neighbors but they were living at the house with us. I was trying to get ready to do readings, as I had a lot of orders waiting, but the kids were making a lot of noise and I could not work.

I was pretty upset, as the first reading was a medium reading. I could see the Spirit who was my client's mom, and he was trying to communicate with me throught clairaudience but I was not able to hear him because all the noise that child was making.

I complained to my wife that I needed to work, but she said he was a neighbor and that I needed to wait.

    11. Building a Pool and Indoor Baseball

      by , 10-15-2014 at 09:59 PM
      Non-Dream Dream

      Dream 1:

I am jogging through what looks like a bunch of freeways. One section in particular looks like the 405-101 interchange. There are a bunch of homeless people sleeping / living up against the fences on the side of the freeways. I encounter a young woman speaking to the homeless people and one of the guys offers to buy her car for $2000. I quickly intervene because I get the sense that these homeless people are trying to screw her over and I say something like "shame on you."

Dream 2: I am with my Dad (maybe whole family) in a one-street town. Can't remember much else about this one.

      Dream 3:

I have a gigantic backyard and I am attempting to build a very large swimming pool. It seems to be about 20-30 feet deep and as large as an olympic sized pool. I believe there is also a gas station in my back yard. Several friends (I think - can't recognize them) and co-workers show up to help. One of my friends, a young woman, steps into the back yard and is not paying attention. She falls into the pool and I am terrified that she would fall all the way to the bottom. Luckily there is a large cypress tree growing in the pool and she grabs onto it and climbs out.

We all move inside to play an indoor baseball game. There are several coworkers there - especially from TA's group. Other people that are participating include SC and BW from work, my one year old son and Kevin Cosner. The game somehow involves us splitting up into pairs and my son was the pitcher for a brief moment until I realized it might be too dangerous for him. I don't recall who my partner is but we are very vocal and having a great time. Towards the end of the game TA confronts me and says something like "I was hoping this game would allow you to come out of your shell." This really pisses me off because my partner and I seem to be having the most fun. SC and BW were partners and weren't talking to anybody yet TA still decided to call me out. I start yelling at her and say she is a weird and awkward bitch and several other things I can't remember.

      by , 10-15-2014 at 08:18 PM
At 10PM I had a glass of milk and went to bed, setting my alarm for 5AM. I have nature noises (river water + crickets) playing through my pillow speakers. Noises wake me at 11:15PM, but I promptly fall back asleep. A bad dream wakes me at 1AM.

      Snakes in the leaves
I'm writing a fiery letter regarding a pastor and church building. In it, I say that I'd love to welcome him back as a friend, but that I'll fight him tooth and nail if I have to. I'm embarrassed about using such strong language, but I feel it's what I need to do. I'll be sending the letter off to Frank to get his opinion.

Now I'm on some church property trying to clean up a huge accumulation of leaves. I'm by myself, and I take a moment to savor my picturesque surroundings, with woods all around me and the old building off in the distance. Now the thick carpet of leaves has been turned into a bunch of big piles, some of which are now in bags. As I'm working, I consider myself fortunate that I haven't seen any snakes in this mess. Immediately after thinking about it, I see a brownish snake in the bag I just stepped over. It doesn't strike, but it does seem to be waking up and shaking off a stupor. It really blends in with all the dead leaves, and I thank God that I didn't step on it. As I back away from the bag, I become aware that there are a lot of these snakes around, all waking up, all starting to head towards me. I turn and run, then trip and fall. As I'm picking myself up, I see that one is coming straight at me. I manage to grab a bag and swing and throw it as hard as I can at the snake. It doesn't impede the snake at all, and I feel panic rising in me.

I wake up, heart pounding. I jump at every little noise I hear, and it takes about an hour to fall back asleep. My alarm wakes me up at 5.

      Swim goggles
I'm standing on a platform in the middle of a pool getting ready to jump in. I've got my swim goggles on, but they don't feel right. I press them to my eyes and find that they don't suck on. I wonder if they're broken, but then I realize they probably just got dried out. I take them off and dunk them in the water, then put them back on, and they stick properly.

      Problems at church
I'm at Frank's church before the service starts, waiting in the bathroom for the computer to become available. A well-dressed man (black, but with relatively light skin) is using it, and the longer I wait the more I suspect he's not going to give it up any time soon. Now I'm in the service, in the middle of singing a hymn. Mom is to my right, and my son is to her right. When the hymn is done, we all sit back down. My son is talking to a girl his age sitting to his right, so Mom shushes them. He tells Mom to be quiet, then turns back to his friend and keeps talking. I get back up, tell him to follow me, and leave the service with him.

Fragment: I'm walking around outside a building under a covered walkway preparing for some kind of party.

    13. Waltz in black and silver

      by , 10-15-2014 at 04:58 PM
A young woman stands downstage center, facing the audience; she never turns around. She's performing a simple, faltering version of the whirling, intricate dance going on behind her - contemporary ballet, the entire troupe on stage behind her. Everyone is in black and silver and painfully beautiful. This is her dream we're seeing play out behind her, her ideal. But the music is melancholy, nostalgic even - it's a waltz in a minor key, reminds me of Dvorak. Starts with just a music-box-like piano, but the music swells as the dancers behind her become the focus, all strings. I get swept up in the overwhelming sound of it and the movement of the dancers, until in the end it gradually fades away again to those music-box-like piano notes. A woman's voice from offstage calls to her to come to bed, the sun has risen. I focus on her profile as she turns to look offstage, towards that voice; when I look behind her again, the dancers have vanished. She leaves the stage.

    14. 10/15/2014 - "Mercenaries, Wolves and Savages"

      "Mercenaries, Wolves and Savages"

      Spoiler for Short Version!:

There was a vast military facility, set in a rocky, mountain terrain. An acquaintance and I were seemingly prisoners or captives on this base, and were sneaking around the yard in an attempt to make our escape. Our captors were more ruthless mercenaries than your standard soldier, and we knew that being caught again would mean certain death.

It didn't take long for the base to go on alert, upon realizing we were no longer where we should have been. Everywhere, squads of these men were mobilizing and searching frantically for us. One the closest end of the base was a wall with a framework of openings, but on the other side was a wide-open clearing, for miles. We could already hear the helicopters beginning to circle. We would be sitting ducks out there. The only way to safety would be to make it across the compound and to the opposite side, where the geographic conditions were much more conducive to escape.

Unable to keep ourselves hidden for much longer, we soon found ourselves sprinting and scrambling through the yard, dodging machine gun fire so close that I could actually feel the bullets tearing through my clothing and brushing my skin at times. Turning a corner - after having lost my companion, somewhere in the fray - I saw a large, metallic object wheeling itself around a nearby building. It was a tank, and the turret was already beginning to rotate in my direction. I broke into a lateral sprint, running as fast as I could, toward the closest structure. It was one of those moments where time stands still, and you're in just such utter terror that you are absolutely, positively sure you are going to die.

I heard the tank fire the shot, just before I was able to reach the corner. Luckily, the shell flew just a few feet behind me. I could sense it as it passed me before exploding, harmlessly, about a dozen yards away.

Still on the run, I happened upon an enormous crevice that led down into the ground, just outside of the military compound. It was a great gash in the earth, about the length of a large yacht, and it was apparently the entrance to a network of caverns which stretched deep below the surface. I climbed down to lower passageways and attempted to wait out my pursuers, thinking that I might have enough concealment down here to successfully get away. Then, I saw a silhouette on the wall. It was a wolf. A very large wolf. It was sniffing its way around toward me, but I was out of its line of sight and it hadn't yet noticed me.

Quietly, I began climbing back up toward the surface, out of the path of this beast, and started to weigh my dwindling options. Poking my head just above the surface, I was met not with the automatic weapons of the mercs that I believed were still searching for me, but with the sight of about five more wolves, sprinting down out of the nearby mountains and directly toward me at breakneck speed.

Frantically, I slid back down into the crevice and to the lower level. The wolf was there waiting, and I ended up having to fend him off with my hands, grabbing his snout as he lunged and grappling with him just long enough to slip away before the others could descend into the cavern behind me. (I think I killed it, but I'm not sure.)

Continuing further and further down, and just as I was beginning to feel that I had rid myself of the ferocious wolves, I found myself dropping into a wide open 'room' within the cavern. It was about the size of the underwater cavern in my dream from yesterday. This time, though...it was full of people. Primitive, indigenous people, who seemed as though they had been living here for eons. A lost civilization. And they all immediately stopped what they were doing and stared directly at me.

I was standing on some kind of pedestal or shrine, and surrounded by precious artifacts. The centerpiece immediately caught my eye: a large, gem-encrusted plate, in the shape of a skull, which looked like it had come straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. Suddenly, the air turned hostile, and this entire tribe began converging angrily upon me. I was off, again, instinctively grabbing up the skull-shaped relic and dashing off of the pedestal, running through the caves while they gave chase. Some of the natives also dealt in magic, because the last thing I remember is hoping from ledge to ledge while a handful of them threw glowing, blue spells at me, which exploded into bright splashes of hot liquid.

I don't think they ever caught me, though!

    15. Manei tries to summon the Angelic Dwarven Guardian (LD #121), Destroying the Lucid Barrier (LD #122)

by , 10-15-2014 at 01:21 PM (Lucid Time!)
Well... good night last night. Took me an hour to type this up.

I was driving along in a mountainous region supposedly on some family vacation with my parents. The sky looks to be a very deep shade of blue and I think there were some planets in the sky. The mountains we are on don't look very earth-like either.
The mountains are made out of a light brown/tawny rock and covered in moss that seems to flow over them like water. Exotic fern-trees grow in some of the more level areas but the mountains are fairly jagged.
The road we are driving on is narrow (two lane) and built up on this really high end, futuristic looking bridge. Eventually I saw that we were coming up on a settlement in a valley.
It was a very small settlement. Two houses, one of the houses is very modern with a big glass wall on the front and a solar array on the roof. The other one looks older, being made of bricks with a circular drive out front. There is also an old fashioned well and a park with swings and a play structure.
My parents said that we had been driving for awhile and that we should pull over and eat lunch as a family in this park.
      ...

This somehow led me to becoming lucid. I ran into Manei, who had taken on a youthful form, she was about 8. She then turned and ran and I came after her. I chased her across the playground structure and she went down the slide.
"Come on! Go down the slide!"
      "mmm... Ok."
I go down the slide, trying to rack up a little bit of dream stabilization along the way. I recall the slide being a reddish color, and having scuff marks on it. Before I reach the bottom, she says something else.
"When you get to the bottom, don't stop!"
I slide down and when I come off the end of the slide I go forward a little bit because of my momentum and land on my butt in the wood chips. For some reason I seem to sink into the wood chips.
"Good, I had to make sure you were still (able to act like a child). The Dwarven Guardians who run this place really like that."
      "...?"
"I'm going to summon the Angelic Dwarven Guardian now. Now you won't be able to see him because (He exists across the fourth dimension), but (He will be standing right in front of you) you will be able to communicate with him through thoughts."
Manei changes into her base form (goes through puberty in a couple of seconds) and begin concentrating on summoning him. The dream begins to shift, I have a false awakening, or a scenery change, can't remember. Anyways, I'm in my bedroom. The wood chips I was laying in have become my bed. I lose some lucidity.

The dream scene changes again. I am now in the basement of my house, standing. Manei continues concentrating for a minute or two and then all four of our family's cats (including the dead one) show up. Our youngest cat is particularly interested in whatever she is trying to do. He meows and rubs against her leg.
"Rrrrgh! No! (Facepalms) That's not what I meant to do!"
The dream carried on for a minute as Manei became frustrated in her attempts to summon this being, and I just sort of stood there patiently waiting to see what exactly was going to happen. I began to feel like the cat, the young one was somehow a representation of the being we were trying to summon. I tried to lock onto the cats energy and he and I engaged in a staring contest. I could feel something else in there. I could see it in his eyes. I was about to tell Manei that she should change her approach when I woke up.

      5:10. Let's go back.

I had a dream where I had gotten a job at a superstore, like Target or Wal-Mart. I was the Janitor and my job was to clean the interior windows on the office walls in the back. My boss (a grouchy, short, fat, black haired man) gave me a toilet brush that had been dipped in soapy water.
      "Get your ass moving now!"
I walk into the back of the store and begin scrubbing the windows. I haven't been told that I have to dry them or anything, and wasn't given a towel, so I just scrub them clean. The first office is really easy, but the second office, for some reason, someone has splattered a muddy brown substance on the window. I couldn't tell if it was mud, chocolate, caramel, or *shudders* something worse.
Regardless, I'm the Janitor, and I guess they have to put up with stuff like this, so I just push past it. I start scrubbing but my brush gets contaminated with the muddy substance. I'm not really cleaning anymore, I'm just moving the dirt around. I decide I will go back to my boss and tell him that I'm going to need a bucket of soapy water.
I start walking back across the store floor to the front where my boss is; in the front. I don't get very far until I come across my mom who is shopping. She tells me that I really should put on some pants if I want to impress my boss, and I realize that I am wearing a shirt and briefs.

Lucidity hits me like a brick wall.
There was this weird part though where the scenario repeated itself semi lucid. I was in a library this time, and my boss was a female, but no less grumpy. I went through scrubbing the windows, but there was this extra part where I was trying to clean the brush off in a drinking fountain in the back of the library.
      ...
Regardless, I had a false awakening. As my eyes started to open, I could tell I was in my bedroom.
My lucidity was clear enough to remember that I had gone to sleep in my college dorm room. I did a nose pinch.
"Yeah! Just what I thought! A false awakening!"
Something felt odd about my bedroom, like everything was reflected to the opposite side.
I started to get out of bed and I took note of how dark everything was. I decided to turn on the lights. The dream glitched here and I was instantly over at the door, facing as If I were walking into my bedroom. I flicked on the light-switch and nothing happened. I flicked it up and down two times, and nothing happened.
"Wait... don't light switches not work in dreams...?"
The light flashed on blindingly bright for a fraction of a second. I heard a loud scream, then everything was black. I could feel myself falling for a few seconds.
      ...
I false awaken. After one false awakening, I was ready to catch the second one, especially if it was to be in the same place as the first. I was in my bedroom. It was dark. I looked at the floor to see that it had been extruded down about 20 feet and filled with water back to the level of the original floor. The weird part was, all the furniture was sitting in place on the surface of the water.
I recall the water being dark and murky, and seeing a large shark or predatory fish of some sort in the water.
I must not have been fully lucid because I felt trapped by it. Eventually a blurry-faced dream character in a tiny yellow inflatable dingy came in, rowing with a wooden paddle. When they came up to my bed, I pushed them into the water and stole their little boat.
I rowed into the guest bedroom for some odd reason and the clarity and mood of the dream picked up significantly. I thought that I was in a surreal painting or something. The water here was very shallow, six inches at the most, and clear. There were brightly colored fish in it, and the carpet flooring had been replaced with wood.
There was a waterfall flowing from a bottomless pitcher suspended in midair, down a wooden desk, then onto a wooden chair into the floor below. For some reason, there was also a coat rack with a couple of bird cages hanging from it, with brightly colored birds in them. Some of the cages were open and a couple of exotic dream-birds were circling around the room.
There were vases of flowers everywhere and lily pads in the water.
I saw a turtle in the water. The turtle had mosses and grasses growing on his shell. I asked the turtle if he would protect me from the shark that was in the other room. He then created this little explosion of bubbles and a tiny fish appeared. It was black and brown with yellow spots. He told me that the fish would protect me.

I turned back and looked around the room. My lucidity was slipping and I had to remind myself that this was just a dream. I decided to go outside. I began walking out of my house, and the water floors were fading away now.
      ...
I open the door and take one look. I couldn't help myself.
      Holy S**t!
The dream world was so bright and realistic. I could make out every leaf on every tree, blowing in the wind. I could see a full, white moon rising in the daytime sky. The sky still had that look that it had in the first dream though, it was a darker blue than it should have been. All of the colors seemed to pop, though.
The trees in our yard were not quite right though. They seemed to be of different species. The one that is right out the front door was replaced with this one with millions of tiny bright green leaves. And where our pine tree was was a palm tree that started with a single base and split into multiple tops. Another tree was replaced with a giant red and white mushroom.
As I looked more closely at the sky, I could see a structure in it. I couldn't really describe quite what it looked like in words, but it was made up of these circular nodes. Each one had a rune symbol on it. The rune symbols were connected by large beams with small white lights along the edges. Between those larger beams were smaller intricate spiral and radial patterns, sometimes centering around the nodes. The structure arched across the whole sky.
Although I couldn't quite tell what it was, I could tell that it was solid, probably made of stone or metal, and that it was at least a few miles up. It had a sort of technological look to it, like the surface of the death star would. But also a very mystical, design. There were a couple of clouds in places obscuring parts of the structure.
I was a bit taken aback by all this scenery. I almost lost the dream.
"Keep it together (Jade)! It's just a dream... A very very good lucid dream."
Then, just when I couldn't taken any more, we got planets. Two of them. Somehow visible past the barrier. Both of them looked earth-like, with atmospheres and oceans. One was larger and looked pretty flat, mostly land. The other was much more topographically interesting with craters and oceans.
I had to contain myself a second time. I tried to think of something I could do. I then thought of the "Lucid Barrier" and thought that perhaps that huge structure in the sky is my lucid barrier. I should fly up and destroy it!
Okay, usually in very stable, vivid dreams, flying can be a bit of a hassle. I try not to think about the fact that there is a massive structure hindering my lucid dreaming ability right above me. I start running from my front porch, toward the road. I try projecting my energy out of my hands to generate lift. I can't feel any energy flowing. I look upwards, at the house across the street and try to imagine myself being pulled toward the second floor.
I jump, and notice that I don't seem to be heading back toward the ground. I feel the energy start flowing from my hands, and my little hand rockets ignite. Classic.
      "Haha! Yeah!"
All of the sudden I hear a horn. I am now in the middle of the road, and only a couple of feet off the ground. A large white van careens toward me. I get struck on the left and side of the van and spun around by the impact. But it doesn't really hurt, despite the fact that I was hit at a fairly high speed. I try not to let the spin destabilize or change the dream environment.
The van fares a little worse though, it careens off the road and hits one of the neighbor's trees. The dream character; a black man with dreads gets out.
"Hey! Watch it! I... You're flying... He's flying!" The dream character yells.
Something made me realize that the huge structure in the sky was not my lucid barrier. I decide to manifest a physical representation of it and destroy it. I turned around, and in the middle of the street was my lucid barrier.
It was made out of rings of a pink polished stone, like a target, with a white four pointed star, also made out of polished stone. There was a ring of grey polished stone that connected into a pedestal and a crescent of more white polished stone along the inside of the outer ring. It was actually a beautiful sculpture and I felt a little bit bad for having to destroy it.
I started to fly at it. For some reason, my flying was a little bit awkward and I was flying feet-first. I wanted to turn myself around, until I realized this was actually perfect. I kicked into it, knocking out the white crescent and breaking the outer ring ring of grey stone. I looked back to see my work, and a little less than half of the wall was gone.
I felt my lucidity get clearer. Then I realized the reason my lucidity was so clear, and that my mind was so awake was that I was actually waking up.

Hopefully now that I started tearing down that lucid barrier my LDs will increase.
