    1. Loooong dream

      by , 07-31-2013 at 06:02 PM
So, this one is very long, and very fuzzy in my memory. So bear with me.

There's some dude with a glow stick on my front porch. My mom and me were in the kitchen. For some reason there were cupboards outside on the porch. The guy was looking through them. Eventually the guy left and we stood up.
      *Memory blindness*

My dad came in from work, and said "They're after me, for tax evasion". It sounds kind of nonsensical, but in the dream it was clear as day. We started running upstairs. Since this was a dream I was running slowly and my talking came out as whispers. I don't get why I don't do a reality check then! Agh!

Anyways, we ran upstairs and locked ourselfs in our rooms. For whatever reason I had my little cousin Heidi with me.
      *Memory blindness*
      Something about burning telescopes
      *Memory blindness*
      Reading Heidi a kiddie book
      *Memory blindness*
The next morning after all that, we got on a plane and headed for where ever. Suddenly the rest of my family was back (was this a new dream?).

I apparently was flying the plane, and I said "This is your Casey speaking (Casey's my name) thank you for flying who-cares airlines". It actually looked like a flight simulator, as I was in 3rd person.

Would that be classified as an OBE?

      *Memory blindness*
We wound up in a bar or something, drinking beer out of straws. I wasn't drinking, and a good thing too, I'm under aged.

I guess I forgot the rest. I'm really sorry for not remembering much. If I had any sense at all I would delete this, and say I couldn't remember it, but, meh.

Note: I had a half a pill of melatonin that night, so maybe that effected this?

      Lucid #118: Water Slide

I'm walking down the central aisle of an airplane when I hear a voice to my right: "Hey [CanisLucidus]! Check out this view!" I look to my right and NewArtemis is waving me over and pointing at the window. "Have you ever seen Los Angeles from the air before?"

"[NewArtemis]!" I take the middle seat and say something about the last time I flew into LA. I talk about how it's been a long time since I was there and ask her what she's doing in LA.

"Same thing you are," she says. "The gymnastics conference." I feel like this is totally unexpected and don't know how to respond. Why don't I remember this? Since when do I care about gymnastics? Art points out the window again. "Look, that's the Staples Center!"

As I'm checking out LA through the window, a flight attendant makes an announcement that the plane will be landing shortly. Art stares at me pointedly, not saying anything. "Am I supposed to be doing something?" I ask, not following what's going on.

"Are you just going to leave your son all by himself while the plane lands?" Now I'm sure that my 2-year-old son "R" is all by himself several rows back. Panicked, I run toward the back of the plane without saying goodbye. When I get back to my row, I see some guy in the window seat and R crawling around freely on the middle seat. The guy turns to me and says something odd, and I wonder whether this is all a dream. As soon as I ask myself the question,
      I know the answer.

I look out the window again, and the plane is on the ground now. Passengers are starting to stand up at their seats and in the aisle. I stand up in the aisle myself and say, "[NewArtemis], come back this way. I'm going to Angel Falls." Almost immediately she slips past some guy standing in the aisle and appears near my row. I start narrating partly to her but mostly to the dream itself. "Okay, this plane took us right to Angel Falls." We walk through the doorway of the airplane and down a short set of stairs covered by a canopy.

"Can you fly?" I ask her. But I correct myself: "You can fly." And she floats past, bouncing along the canopy ceiling before reaching the end and floating up temporarily out of sight. Now I hear the roar of a waterfall and I'm feeling really excited. I start flying, too, and I wind up bouncing along just like she did before I break out into the open.

The waterfall is there, but it's really just a waterpark slide sitting on an open stretch of runway. The ride's about 30 feet tall, quite steep, and looks like fun. It's got a banner stretched over its exit with its name... something like, "_____ Raging River _____", with a couple of words I can't recall. Art and I fly over to the top of the slide, me just slightly in front. It's 4 "lanes" of slides right next to each other, and I take the 2nd from the left. I think that Art wound up further behind me in the same lane. I reach the bottom, zooming past a couple of portly kids in lanes #1 and #3.

As soon as I hit the bottom of the slide, I hop up again, expecting Angel Falls to be in front of me. And indeed, in front of me is the top of a huge waterfall. This one's got a banner stretched over the top of it, too: "Angel Falls". But it's still some kind of ride, not the real waterfall. It's close. A very impressive, realistic (almost scary) ride, but still a ride. I shout something back to Art about how this probably doesn't count. She says something I can't remember and indicates she's still here.

The dream still feels really stable and vivid, but I'm reluctant to waste any time, so I leap over the waterfall feet-first. Immediately I'm drenched and in freefall. After a few seconds of that, I land smoothly on some kind of big, steep plastic slide and travel along it for maybe another 20 seconds before things flatten out just a bit and the slide takes me underground. I'm still moving at a good pace but no longer at the crazy speeds of before.

The slide flattens out and broadens, and I slide past a few other riders that I'm sharing the slide with. When I feel myself slowing down, I find that I can sort of spin on my butt and gain a little speed. One DC that I pass asks me how I'm doing this and I tell him that I'm having a lucid dream.

After a while, the slide narrows and finally ends. There's a long line of DCs waiting to exit the "ride". I think about whether I should wait in line, then remember that I need to still find the real Angel Falls. I'm thinking about how to do this when
      the dream ends.

Lucid #100: The World Is Yours

I'm flying high in the sky around what looks to be a computer-generated globe that's populated with little dots. I feel like I'm on a plane with Wife but I don't see a plane. It's just me and my floating perspective as we circle slowly and gracefully around this globe.

I tell Wife, "This is a music video for a Phil Collins' song called 'Julia' from 1980."
(Not true.) The song immediately starts playing. In it, Collins sings of how this globe is "not CGI" and that the dots represent people around the world. He sings that the dot he remembers best ("the one I best recall") was one of him over the ocean, flying on a plane to be reunited with his beloved Julia.

As the song ends, I suddenly find myself falling downward out of the sky. I hope that this is a dream, I think, and
      of course it is.

I immediately halt my fall and find myself hovering over a huge, vivid cityscape -- highways, skyscrapers, cranes, bridges, traffic jams, all arrayed for me down below. I want to fly around and explore this city, but when I attempt to fly, I'm unable to move. For some reason, I feel totally confident that I'll come unstuck. Stop asking, I think.

I ignore what the dream is telling me and I imagine that I'm already flying Iron Man-style around the city. A second later, I'm flying effortlessly, cruising anywhere I like. I get briefly stuck a time or two, but I just ignore it, imagine that I'm succeeding, and immediately start flying again. Eventually, the little glitches stop.

I see a tower that I remember from waking life -- it's one that I pass during my commute. I fly up to the top and circle around it. I glide low over roadways and high above a cluster of skyscrapers, then descend back to one of the bridges that spans a piece of some unfamiliar bay.

My confidence is soaring, and I decide try some large-scale dream control. I put my hands out in front of me and then bring them apart like I'm performing the breaststroke. As I do, I rake cars off of the bridge in either direction and dozens of them go plummeting toward the water. I bring my hands back together and I watch as time rewinds and they return to the bridge, unharmed. I fly back toward the skyscrapers, select a pair of them, and then begin moving them up and down, one for my left hand and one for my right.

I look to my left and see an enormous fire ogre (a la "Orcs Must Die") stomping toward me down one of the city streets. He towers over most of the nearby buildings, at least 100 feet tall. I wonder whether maybe I'll be fighting him later. I feel no fear at all. I reflect for a moment about what it would be like to have this much control and confidence in every LD. Nothing could stop me. What sort of things would I do if I had years of this kind of power?

Leaving the fire ogre behind for now, I fly over my city for a while and just let my dreaming brain show me what it can do. I look out at the waters of the nearby bay and think about using all of this overflowing confidence for some Task of the Month parasailing, but
      the dream soon ends.
    4. Trying to Fly a Plane

I am helping a friend work on a small single-engine one-seat plane. We are both sitting in the seat, tightly wedged between the sides of the plane. There is a panel full of buttons and controls and there is the typical control stick in the middle of the floor. We try to move our legs over each other's for a bit so that the stick is free to use.

We're tracing an electrical issue of some sort which is preventing the engine from starting. I pull off a large metal panel on the dash and find a fuse panel underneath which has some really primitive looking fuses. The fuse is a bar of phenolic with a small wire wrapped around it several times. The ends of the bar have holes so that they can be fastened to a bolt to allow the current flow. Each fuse is labeled 10 Amps and there are 6 of them stacked together, so I assume that means that this is supposed to be a 60 amp fuse. They look very corroded and rusty.

I reach in and wiggle the fuses around a bit and the engine suddenly starts. My friend reaches up and pulls the canopy down and says, “Fuck yeah!!! Let's go!” I pull the throttle control and the engine sputters a bit, then revs up quite well. The prop on the front starts spinning, but it looks too small to actually make the plane work. Just as I am about to pull the throttle control more, some guy walks right in front of the plane while talking on his cell phone. I look around for a horn button but cannot find one. I push up the canopy and yell, “Hey, dumb fuck! Hang up and walk before you get your head whacked off!”

I pull the canopy down and pull back the throttle control all of the way. The engine spins faster and starts to move the plane forward, then the engine sputters out and stalls. I wiggle the fuses again but nothing happens. Reaching under the seat, I find a box of spare fuses and parts. The box has at least 100 of those fuses in it and a spool of the fuse wire to wrap around them. I say, “Why didn't the dumb fucks put a breaker in there instead of a fuse? How bad would it suck if the fuse took a shit while in mid-air?”

    5. Airplanes as a metaphor for dreams (fragment)

      by , 03-09-2013 at 12:30 PM
Oh this is so fustrating. I just had it! And it was cool, and kind of a combination of previous dream fragment, but different. I thought I had stabilized it, but then when I shifted and got IPad it was gone!

Definitely airplanes, this time military ones (after the fragment earlier tonight the mental image I got was of a large commercial airplane). Definitely also standing in for dreams.

Well since I can't remember what, I will improvise: dreams are like airplanes because ...

      Flights of fancy
      Flying is common in dreams

      Why military airplane this time?

Getting ready to fight? The enemy? Myself? My low self-esteem (which is not nearly as low as it was two weeks ago)

      I don't know, don't remember. Argh!

    6. The Night Warrior Needs The Morning Off

by , 02-20-2013 at 02:08 AM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
Some day residue from ordering a package during the day and also the ever-present media barrage about terrorism.

I'm walking through a dry, hilly region that makes me think of Afghanistan. But apparently I am in Kentucky. I am being led by a Persian-looking man with a thick accent. We are walking along a trail, dressed as guerrilla fighters with assault rifles and well-supplied backpacks. It's daytime and it's mostly clear with a few patches of clouds. My guide points up at the sky. There's a plane in the distance. He's speaking some kind of rhetoric that glorifies his cause. Something like:

"While the rich and wealthy look down on us from their planes, we, the night warriors, fight on the ground. They use their planes to transport goods and they think they are secure. They think they have sophisticated logistics. But we know all about their systems. We infiltrate their corporations and subvert their delivery systems. They think all the worldly goods belong to them, but really they belong to us."

Somehow I know that the plane is a UPS freight plane and we are near their main processing hub in Kentucky. We watch as the plane flies low over a clearing and starts dropping crates to the ground without landing, cargo-cult-style. As each crate lands, workers scramble to it and begin to break it down and process the packages. I think this system must be very well coordinated so that no one gets crushed from a falling crate. I also wonder if they can do this for fragile packages. Maybe they have a separate system for that.

We double back on the trail and move away from the UPS facility. My guide continues on with his rhetoric:

"They think that we will wither and starve out here in the badlands. But we have enough food for many days..."

False awakening. I'm still in the same dream. Apparently we made camp for the night and I'm just now waking up. My guide nudges me with his boot to wake me up. I am reluctant. He says:

"We call ourselves the night warriors but we never sleep. We fight day and night."

I joke: "If I'm going to be a night warrior, I'm going to need the mornings off."

    7. The Kangarant

      by , 01-13-2013 at 04:29 AM
I'm glad to be in a patch of more peaceful, relaxed lucids that are geared toward exploration. These are usually among my favorites and tend to provide more opportunity for completing tasks. (Not that I was successful completing anything in this dream, of course, but theoretically...)

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #56: The Kangarant

I'm in a small prop plane flying over a high, snowy mountain range. There are two other guys in the plane with me, both in their 20s. There are no seats -- everyone is standing. Nobody appears to be piloting the aircraft.

The plane barrels toward a mountain peak, and I shout, "Agggh, watch out!!" But the plane clears the peak (though just barely) and the two guys high five. They look at me like they don't get why I'm being such a baby.

"Where are we?" I ask. One of the guys ponders this for a moment and says, "California."
California? "No way," I think, and become lucid.

The plane goes into a hard, sickening turn to the right and starts losing altitude. My two companions think this is great, but I want off. I phase my left hand through one of the plane's windows. After a brief pause, the rest of my body follows and I'm flying outside in the clouds, the plane buzzing off into the distance.

I'm descending pretty rapidly but I feel like I'm in control. Unexpectedly, I pass by a gray-haired man who's dressed in an Army Service Uniform. He looks extremely high-ranking, almost certainly a general. He's staying still while I'm moving so I whoosh right by him. He's muttering something as I fly by, but I can't make it out.

My descent slows and I land in an airfield. Some planes are taxiing on runways while others are refueling. There's even a rocket set up nearby! It looks vaguely like a Saturn V but it's way too small.

Stranger still are the animals roaming everywhere across this airfield. Each has at least one human handler. I spot camels for sure, and several other types that I can't remember. But the animal that really grabs my attention is something that I can only describe as the cross between a kangaroo and an elephant. (Kangarant? Eleroo?)

This animal is about 30-feet tall, gray-skinned like an elephant, but with the powerful hind legs and dainty forelimbs of a kangaroo. It has a marsupial pouch but its head has tusks and a modest trunk. The head is elephant-like, but sleeker and longer than an elephant's. I watch this beast in fascination for a while. A handler on a raised platform is passing it some kind of hay to eat. The kangarant munches away, passive and content.

I start thinking about tasks and I fly past the airfield to see what's out there. I come to a beach where several vendors have stalls set up. I decide that this is Australia and that I should do the Australia Task of the Year. I remember something about Mel Gibson.
Actual task: ("Hitch a ride on a sea turtle, dolphin, or humpback whale and explore the Great Barrier Reef. Bite a great white shark and don't die. ") I decide that since I don't know what I'm doing I had better try something else. I decide to figure out some kind of way to travel to the Colosseum and have my gladiator battle.

I convince myself that a time machine will appear behind me. I turn around, shouting, "Time machine!" This fails to do anything but make me feel stupid.

A girl who looks like she's about nine walks up to me. I think she's perhaps Philippina. I ask, "Can you show me the way to the time machine?"

She nods, looking a little cross with me. "But I'm not a girl! I'm a boy!" She glares at me, waiting for me to make this right. I don't really know how to respond, since she can apparently read my mind (and I still think she's a girl.)

"Sorry...?" I offer, and this seems to satisfy her. She starts running inland across a nearby road and I follow. We've only gone a short distance when
      I wake up.
    8. My Killing Spree

by , 12-15-2012 at 12:35 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
      ~ 7 pm: sleep
      ~ 10 pm: wakeup

Buying on a boat. There were two options, but in one boat, I was already eating rice before I even knew what I was doing, so I decided to buy food there.

I am some sort of demon. I killed off some people. Some innocent, some are not. There was a housewife. I think I killed her husband. I killed more people in a room. Their weapons just go through me. There's one burly kid who's very persistent. No matter how much I shoot him, he comes back and holds me back, trying to protect others from him. I told him I'll remember his bravery, though it is pointless. He has some sort of sharp things on his body to hold me back. It traps me somehow.

I was in a plaza in our hometown. I was talking to a sea man. He needs to go out early because of some punishment. Lateness or absense, I think. Or no uniform? The number 50. He gave me an airplane toy. I was holding the bamboo-framed kite-like airplane. I used it to jump and attempt to fly, but the plastic is right in front of me, and there's only a small hole that I can see through. I would loved to use it to travel the world. I sense mom is coming from the direction of our house.

      ====

      Edit:

Upon going online, I saw news of a hideous massacre by ONE man that included "innocents." Even freakier is that the event happened around an hour after I woke up from my "killing spree" dream.

    9. Oct 8, 2012 - Sunken Ship and the Dragon's Cave

by , 10-17-2012 at 05:09 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
      NOTES: 100 countdown

Homophobia. Basket ball. Sunken ship. Plane. It was shot by some guy from the plane but who jumped to the submarine. The plane landed on the ocean. The other guy in the plane is alright. Turned it into a sunken ship show. Fake ghosts and all.

An entrance to the castle. Cave. An adventurer. I told him to be careful. If anything disturbs the water, the dragon will wake up. There's a stone that's attached to the chain that could fall at any moment. The idiot simply jumped into the water/lake. He fought the dragon using a sword. The dragon speaks. Then suddenly, someone took the adventurer's hand. It was a fair lady. She led him/me out while the dragon just looked. She's a "larva," a dragonchild. She said that we have to be in touch so that I'll survive in the dragon's lair. After we were out of the lair, she let go. I walked out to what looked like a house. Yellow and blue paint. Seems like a toddler's school. Met some kids. Walked downstairs. Met some more, and encountered a woman who looked Indian. Somehow, I thought she was Marco's mom. She smiled at me, as if we know each other. They thought I was a guest of sorts. I walked on. There were other people but they mostly ignored me. I met a teen Caucasian woman who was looking for her dictionary. told her I haven't seen it. Later, I encountered her mom, who admitted she used it as a gift wrap for gifts. She apologized and asked to return the remaining pages left to her daughter. Went around and looked for the daughter. I heard the others call out behind me and asked if I'll be early. I waved back, then saw that they were talking to someone else outside. An uncle. Finally found the daughter and explained to her. She just sighed and accepted the papers.

I was in some place. I don't have any wallet or anything. I took a tricycle home. I'm not sure how I paid for it.

I'm in "my" room in Manapla. I sang, and thought mom might wake up thinking I was screaming because of my weird voice. Moments later, I heard a knock. I stayed silent. Then she asked my sister in the other room. I "woke up" too.

    11. Fighting the Same Monsters Over and Over (Literally and Metaphorically)

      by , 10-05-2012 at 04:13 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was walking into my house through the kitchen. It was morning, and I had been gone somewhere all night, I think in a dungeon killing monsters. My parents were away for awhile, and they wanted my brother and I to take care of the house. Well, apparently, my brother and I, and Chris and his girlfriend. Chris walked out of the hallway and into the kitchen wearing a grey shirt, followed by his girlfriend, followed by some guys carrying cases of beer. They had partied all night, and stayed at the house! WHAT? How disrespectful, not only to my brother and I, but to my parents! Besides that, I was mad that him and his girlfriend even stayed overnight at my house! Apparently, Chris was leaving to take his girlfriend to the airport. I don't think I said anything to him about how mad I was. I just stood there dumbfounded and pissed as they walked through the back door to leave.

I then felt like I was at the airport, but it was open and outdoors. The sky was blue/grey with some white clouds. I was then in an airplane, and we passed through a huge cloud. It was as if I was enveloped by fluffy, warm clouds, which at first, didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, because I thought passing through the cloud would make the plane colder. But instead, it made me feel sleepy, comfy, and relaxed, so I closed my eyes.

Then, I was back at the house, and wanted to go down into the dungeon-type area (more video game/Minecraft elements here) that was actually down inside the house. Blake went with me. I think I had to get something from down there.

When we got down there, it was quite dark, and there were monsters everywhere, some that looked like the Pokemon Gurrdurr from a game I was watching Blake play yesterday IWL. I started to hack away at the monsters as they noticed and came at me, all while trying to light the room up with torches. As all this was going on, I was complaining to Blake about the Chris situation, about him staying there overnight with his girlfriend. I was still mad about the party thing, but more mad about him bringing his girlfriend into my house. He seemed perplexed, as if he didn't understand why I was so pissed about the whole thing. I then thought that they were staying in my bed, and probably having sex in it. Ugh. Gross and awkward. I imagined my empty bed messed up on both sides in my dark room.

I kept wanting/needing to return to that dungeon area for some reason, and each time I returned, all the monsters had respawned in the same places, and the lighting was gone again, so I'd have to re-kill the monsters and re-light the room.

This dream seems to be showing me how I keep on getting jealous and peeved that Chris has an awesome girlfriend (symbolized not only by them being together in my house in the dream, but the concept of "fighting the same monsters over and over" in the dungeon) whom he's been dating for over a year now, and it makes me jealous, because we had such a strong love for each other when we were together. Even still, though I thought I was over it and that I'd moved on (all this stuff with us fighting and him getting together with this girl happened almost 2 years ago now), when I see something about him and her on Facebook, it kind of upsets me, and I quickly scroll past it to avoid thinking too much about it.

Also, I know for a fact I had a long dream before this, but my recall isn't really great right now for a multitude of reasons. Hoping it gets back on track here again soon.
    12. [AI is Viral]

by , 09-24-2012 at 02:03 AM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
[Saturday, September 22nd, 2012] [AI is Viral]
(I feel like my soul has just returned from the most extensive adventure... I just got done living another life...)

I remember a futuristic city- Me and Alex witnessed the discovery of a new type of energy that unlocked the secrets of AI. Professors and
Cid-like people gathered around a small machine. They clapped and applauded the arrival of the plasma-like substance that gathered electric
currents out of nothing. The little cylinder music-box-sized machine danced with sparks and lightning. It spread to every thing in the room that had
certain false AI that humans had invented. AI's intelligences advanced so fast and replicated beyond our imagination... within minutes the city was
under attack by our own technology. People were being killed instantly. Alex ran as fast as she could. I was knocked down... I saw people being
impaled... melted... sliced... I crawled into a pod-machine with a red force field that cloaked my presense and protected me- and I waited and
watched. A giant red tenticle of energy whipped around the plaza and killed countless humans. I watched it kill every thing it could detect with
lightning precision. I was watching a masacre- and was the only one in this area to survive. I sat there and watched something evil looking whip
it's bladed arms across the forcefield and slash and slash- but I stared and watched. This was a bad idea- I was stuck in here and Alex was lost
somewhere. I closed my eyes and went back in time- to before the AI made the change. A few minutes before.

I didn't go far back enough. Alex had already run... and Nathan was with me now. But instead of crawling into the safety pod, I grabbed Nathan
and ran. We took turns through the city's hidden corridors and tried to imagine which way Alex would have gone. I felt that she took a left, a right,
another right... then we were at the edge of the city. We were on a giant island ship of metal. Water spread out as far as the eye could see. There
were teleporters on the edge of the ship- and we chose one and it sent us to Manhattan... I could feel that city was already destroyed... so I
reversed time and chose a smaller city. One that Alex was in. We were catapulted through space-time and arrived within moments

This city was dark and depressing, rainy and poor. It reminded me of a late 19th century England city with no modern technology existing, or
perhaps just out of sight and not so advanced. Shingles were falling off roofs from dilapidation, and wood was rotting away. Nathan was here
somewhere in the city, but now he wasn't with me. Dammit. Now I had two people to find. I turned down one alleyway and it led down to a
hidden replica neighborhood of our apartment complex. The parking lot was filled with potholes of rainwater and a few doors were off their
hinges. I went up to number 8 and knocked, SHE ANSWERED. <memory skips>

It's been a few days of us living in safety. But there were memories of her being uninterested in me anymore. I was to be replaced by figures such
as Pompous, Brandon, and more. I felt like she gave the attention she used to give to me to everyone else. A nightmare in itself. I was devastated
but she thought it was only fair. We got in a fight that was very unclear to me and just as we went inside, some kind of shit went down. During a
party, AI had arrived in THIS town. It must be trying to exterminate humans or something. I grabbed Alex by the hand and everything we might
need- and we ran with our backpacks. People were being slayed that came out of hiding- but our neighborhood had been compromised. I saw
Nathan too and I shouted at him to follow- and we headed to the teleports. We all got in one and tried to leave to the place with the least amount
of population. That must be the safest place!

The machine malfunctioned and sent us up into the atmosphere. We all flew up where we could land on an airplane. But we all did grab on until it
landed. Where we did land, it was a tropical island- big, but not as populated. The technology here hadn't been quite affected by the change yet,
so we were sort of safe. The first building we entered shut us in when we walked inside, and a trial began. A box wheeled itself into the room with
supplies for a battle. There was a battery recharge, a weapon capsule, and another thing I don't remember. I grabbed the weapon capsule- it was
kind of old and damaged, I tried to heal it with my mind and it worked. Just then, a robot/cyborg arrived in the room with the intent to destroy me.
I chucked the weapon capsule with all my strength at it and busted the attack machine. That was easy, I thought.

[Drat! I got the month wrong. Also, sorry about my absence, there. I've been trying to install Linux on my laptop. . . .]

      Crash Landing

I'm in an episode of Doctor Who! I'm in a flying craft when I hear some team members calling for help. I expect someone else to help them, but no one does, so after a minute I go over there myself. The two team members, a man and a woman, are sitting side by side, flying the craft from a sort of detachable pod on the side. There's also a giant, black grasshopper in the pod with them. It's not moving, but it looks dangerous, and I assume that's what's worrying them. I get in the pod to help them, but it looks like we're going to have to crash land. We're going too fast; there's no way anyone should be able to survive this. But somehow, with myself at the wheel, we just glide to a halt on the ground. No one's even bruised. I look over at the two other people and say, with a wry smile, "I have no idea how that just happened."

But there's no time to think about that. Everyone gets out of the craft. The man who was next to me takes out a small model of the grasshopper and disparagingly throws it on the ground. Wow, was that all he needed to do to deal with it? Suddenly I remember that the only reason we needed the grasshopper was because it powered the craft, somehow. I'm glad to be rid of it. But then, from the place the model grasshopper landed, bugs begin to rise from the ground--one by one, but quickly, so that soon there'll be an entire swarm of them. And they don't look benign. The Doctor runs in and meaningfully taps his watch. Yep, it's time to get out of here. I try to run on ledges around the side of the cavern, swatting bugs away from my face. Eventually I get away.

Later, it comes to light that the structure in which we now find ourselves is a remnant of an ancestral civilization, forced to escape from its homeland.

      Grammar Game

The point of the game is to take regular English sentences and "translate" them into an amusing American dialect. Something about switching from present tense to present progressive. One variant of the game involving the word "grandma" turns out to be pretty hilarious.

      Blue Angels

I was supposed to go to a Blue Angels show with some friends, but we got delayed. We decide to head over there anyway. When we arrive, we see a lot of other spectators still there--apparently the show's getting started late, also. Only, we wait there for another half hour, and it still doen't start. The Blue Angels were a no-show! Later, I'm playing a game that looks a lot like Galaga, but you play as jet airplanes. There are two teams facing each other, and the basic objective is to capture the enemy flag and bring it back to your side. The controls are similar to those from Snake.

      Frags:
      • Something math-related.

      Non-dream Dream

      Dream 1: Olympics

People are competing in various events related to dreaming. Competitors go into lucid dreams and perform various tasks in the dreams for points.

How did I not become lucid in this dream?!?!?!?

There was another event for baseball defensive skills. Each country is positioned at a certain part of the field. Balls are hit to each part of the field with people at various bases (in all combinations). The country that the ball is hit to has to field it cleanly and throw it to the appropriate base depending on the situation. Countries are judged based on fielding the ball, choosing the appropriate base to throw it to and throwing accuracy and strength.

      Dream 2:

I am standing outside of my house and I see a woman with large, spectacular breasts. I want to bang her really bad. I go to my computer to masturbate (not sure if I actually did it). I end up on an orgy vacation with my wife. I start having sex with her. I'm not sure if I had sex with anyone else.

I try going somewhere that I'm not supposed to go and I get caught. In an attempt to get away I find myself hanging onto the wing of an aircraft while it is flying. I am thinking the whole time that this is not possible and I am dreaming. However, it is very difficult to perform a reality check because I am hanging onto the wing. Without doing a reality check, I am not fully confident that I am dreaming so I am scared to let go.

Next time I am in this situation I will try to study my hands.
