    2. Oblivious Party

by , 01-27-2011 at 07:22 AM (Trial and Error)
(in the same week as Golden Gate Death, a previous dream)

It starts off as a school stress dream. Me and one of my friends from my class have our final (during finals week) and we can't find a place to print our papers. etc.

      The dream shifts

My friend is still there, I am pretty sure he is just a carry over from the previous dream.

We are taken hostage, by a man with a gun. He is wearing a white shirt and has black hair. He is having small talk with my friend about something. I tell him something like "you wont get away with this."

In the distance I can hear a fancy party going on. All I can see are shadows, and hear feint music and talking. I say something like "you can fire that gun because they'll hear you." He says something like "oh yeah..."
He shoots me in the stomach. I don't feel the pain but I feel wet, and I feel it extend as a bleed.
The party continues to go on with no one noticing. I am confused on how they could not hear something so loud.

I try to get their attention, and yell "Help!" I feel myself become weaker.
No response. I feel my body being drained, I am getting tired, but I know if I fall asleep I'll die.
"help.." I yell noticeably quieter. The gunman mocks me. "You can never reach them now"

I know I am going to die no matter what now, it is to late to save me. But I can at least not let that asshole get away with just shooting me and going on his merry way.

I take a deep breath and prepare myself "HELP!!" I scream until the fabric of the dream fades and I wake up saying "help"

      I felt empty all day...

    3. Party & Class

      by , 01-19-2011 at 07:46 PM
House Party - The dream opened up in the living room of a large house. I remember seeing two people I knew in high school. There were only a few people there and I was sitting at a table off to the side of the room. I didn't feel like making conversation with anyone so I waited for someone to come talk to me. Eventually a girl my age came up and started talking to me. I didn't know her but we were flirting. We kept talking and more people showed up at the house. She left to talk to other people. There room was now full of people partying and it was night. There we people around me and the girl came back to talk. This is all I remember.

Class - It started out in a huge class auditorium in college. It was the first day of class. I'm not sure what class it was but there were two professors teaching the same course at the same time. Kind of like a team. This girl was sitting next to me, I do not know her in real life. We were chatting and making jokes as the teachers talked. Some guy came and sat on my left, he acted like he was high laughing all the time. There were also a few girls with him but I don't remember much of them. As they were teaching the girls arm was resting on mine. Next the teachers asked us to form lines for something. There was crowds in the lines so I decided to wait until they were short because I was in no hurry. I eventually got up and tried to do whatever it was I was getting in line for. I had trouble and then I woke up.

    5. Weird partycrash

      by , 01-18-2011 at 05:21 PM
I arrive at a party and walks through the garden where people are sitting.
I walk into the kitchen to sit with one of my friends i recognize from real life (i don't know if i walked with him to the kitchen or if he have been there all the time.)

Suddenly the girl who are throwing the party's (i can somehow feel it's a girl throwing the party) father walks in to the kitchen and starts moving the table (and all the tables in the house) in to their shed because there isn't room in their shed.

      The dream ends.

    6. My Reflection Is Scared Of Me!

      by , 01-15-2011 at 04:10 AM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was sitting in my living room, already lucid, when i decided to walk upstairs. I walked into my parents room and sat on the bed. I noticed the bathroom door was open and i looked inside and remembered that there was a mirror right as you walk in. I look in the mirror and saw my reflection for a split second, looking just like me, but then it looked surprised/scared and quickly dashed away. I ducked down so that i couldn't see myself anymore, and then looked back. The same thing happened. I thought, "huh, this is wierd" so i walked up to the mirror. When i got close, my reflection jumped back up at me, and scared me!

I stood there looking in the mirror for a minute or so, and it started to act like my reflection again, doing everything i did. But then, it suddenly jumped out of the mirror! Then, it borke the window in the bathroom and jumped outside to what seemed to be a party with people swimming in our pool and standing around drinking and talking. It ran off into the woods and nobody even noticed. I was so confused and I tried to figure it out, but i had
woken up. Just in time, my alarm was about to go off in 5 minutes anyway

    7. 1/10: Party, Rabies, and Thieves

by , 01-11-2011 at 02:03 AM (Alone With my Mind)
I woke up seven times and I only remember one dream and two fragments.

      Pool Party (frag)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I was in one of my friends backyards, and we all have bathing suits on. There is music playing on in the background. I walked out through the side gate into their front yard.

      Draw Slasher, Rabies Edition (frag)
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I was playing around with my iPod in my bedroom. I was playing a modified version of Draw Slasher, a game where you are a ninja trying to kill zombie monkies. But instead of killing zombie monkies, they were rabid sheeps and goats.

      At Gunpoint
      NON-DREAM NON-LUCID LUCID
I walked into my garage to grab a cola, and a mailman was searching for something under the car. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Uh.. I lost something." "Well, it looked like you were trying to stea-" The man pulls out a gun. "Oh shit, uh sorry, you can go on." I knew my dad had a shotgun or old broken bottle in his cabinet. I opened it up and the man saw me opening the cabinet and knew I was looking for a weapon. So he walked over and pointed a gun to me again. I said, "Jeez, I'm just getting my dad a finger of scotch." He walked away. I found an old broken beer bottle and pulled it out, but when I turned around my dad grabbed me and started screaming at me. I broke free from the hold, punched my dad and ran into the house.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      1. I didn't know when did I end up here or whose backyard this was.
      2. I was playing a modded game that didn't exist.
      3. A mailman was searching the garage under a car.
The cars were actuall parked in the garage, which is usually used for storage.
      The mailman had a gun.
My dad hides his weapons, I wouldn't know where they were.
My dad would never try to hurt me and I'd never try to hurt him.

    8. Lock In party...Legos?

      by , 01-09-2011 at 06:32 PM
So right before I fell asleep I was texting my friend, and he said he was at a lock in party at a skating rink. (i really have No idea)

I began dreaming that I was at the skating rink at the lock-in. However, the place wasnt a skating rink at all. It was a huge gym-like room with a tower of enourmous legos at the end. I walked up to my friend KW (lets call him that) and told him HAH, I'm here >8D (i was mad that he wouldnt let his friends text me, i was bored) NOW I can talk to your friends! So I walked towards the big mountain, where most of the other kids were. They seemed to be climbing it, but I couldnt tell what else was going on up there, so I climbed up. The legos were eneourmous, so it seemed like we were all lego people. I found small treasure chests but ignored them. Others were climbing up around me, and people seemed to be coming down too, but they were lego people, and they were zombies or pirates. Others of my kind were fighting them to the death, with swords and fists and ninja stars. There was blood all over the lego people, and all over my people, but not on the ground. We all began working our way towards the center, which seemed like a fortress of some sort.

I stabbed a few zombies and worked my way up, and reached the fortress thingy. There was a lego king man there, and he was fighting too, but he was really powerful. Finally all of us fighters got to him and took him down. Everyone then started jumping down from the mountain, and it ...respawned, i guess. It was a different layout and the king was somwhere else, and we did it all over. I have no idea how long this went on, maybe all night.
    9. frags and dreams of the day

by , 12-30-2010 at 03:58 PM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
I had a frag about being at some party or something. I have th feeling I did something wrong, or I got in a disagreement with someone. Either way, it's btb time.

short dream about super dave osborne...he was at his compound racing kids.

dream about being at a BBQ with D and W, and all of a sudden all of these people from high school came out of the woodworks and we were all hugging each other and having warm fuzzy moments.

frag about seeing old friends.....I cant recall what it was about though.
    10. Important lucids

by , 12-13-2010 at 12:25 PM (Awesomeness's quest for lucidity)
Real life Dream Lucid Nightmare Dream sign
For me to remember, dreams are #067300, and lucid dreams are the color below blue, #4169e1. Nightmares are dark red, #8b0000, and dream signs are the light purple, which is up one and left one from blue, #483d8b.

I learned a lot from these two lucids. One thing is it really is easy to lose lucidity in a dream. The other is don't get startled in a dream...

      Center party
We had a party for our Center. (It's like a specialized part of a school, ours is high school) I was already inside, and I was waiting for others to come in. I was in a dark room and it was night time. People started entering.

      Suddenly I
became lucid. The girl I like came over to me and asked me to help her get someone else at the Center away from her. He kept trying to hug and kiss her and she was annoyed.

I tried to Falcon Punch him but it failed. Nothing happened. I suddenly had a funny thought. I created a glowing thing that looked like a fairy from the Legend of Zelda and made the fairy fountain music come from it.He followed it, mesmerized, (because he was an avid gamer) and I told her it would probably keep going for a few miles, so we had nothing to worry about.

At some point in this dream I
lost lucidity. We had about 30 people coming to the party. I looked around and saw a party room in the distance. We walked over there. On our way there we saw a large group of women doing stretches.

Then we finally got to the party area. There was a pool and then two concession stands with gorillas as staff. We played in the pool for a while, probably about 20 or 25 minutes.

Then the gorillas quit. They were getting too much business and were getting frustrated over how they only got $1.99 an hour. I said "Wait!". They looked and I said they could have the extra food too. They smiled and we all partied!

      Would-be nightmare
I was in a dark room, looking at a creepy person, on some slate bed. I became lucid seconds after the dream started. I was startled at how quickly I had become lucid. The creepy guy suddenly died and fell off the bed and I looked around. There were doors and three people.

The middle one, a girl, said some spell to immobilize me. I don't remember what she said, but I do remember it felt like cotton was pressing around all my limbs and I couldn't fight past it. I tried to break free using dream powers but failed. Maybe I lost my powers because I startled myself? I thought, Crap.
      I woke myself up.
    11. I'm Failing to Dream of a White Christmas

by , 12-12-2010 at 08:26 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

[Another really long entry, but it's a really good one this time. Sorry for taking up so much page space again.]

I'm on the playground of my elementary school. It's dusk, and there are lots and lots of kids and teenagers on the playground, some playing games, others just milling around. I see one group of kids playing something that they call tackle football; it involves one person on the team holding a bowl of green beans and others holding and occasionally eating spoonfuls of the green beans, while the entire team moves around the field. Curious about the game they're playing, I approach the group.

“Are those green beans?” I ask.

“Yes,” someone in the group says.

The group spreads out a little, and I see that two of the people in it are P. and Thomas
[, who first appeared in my dream dated December 7]. The instant I see him, I know for sure that I'm dreaming. “Thomas?” I say, looking at him. He acknowledges me. I'm pleasantly surprised to see him again, and amazed at how completely real all the people around me look. Throughout the rest of this dream, I make a special effort to pay attention to the environment around me, including paying attention to the physical sensations of touching things whenever I can. I'm aware that if I don't, they'll stop existing and fade away.

I start wandering through the playground, heading back toward the school buildings. P. and Thomas are following me. It's now fully dark, but the playground is still crowded. I end up on the sidewalk of the street that runs along the south side of the school and passes the kindergarten before the dreamscape shifts on me.

I don't notice the shift itself, but I find myself walking through the streets of a charming, slightly old-fashioned downtown with square, orderly blocks. There's no one else around. I stop and turn around, attempting to summon P. and/or Thomas by expecting them to be there. It doesn't work; I'm all alone. I shrug and continue exploring. As I had in the previous scene, I continue to notice and marvel at how vivid, detailed, and realistic the environment around me is. Everything looks and feels exactly like reality, yet I know perfectly well that I'm dreaming. I can even feel the asphalt and pavement under my feet.
[It didn't occur to me until I had woken up and was lying there, recalling my dream, that I must have looked pretty funny wandering around in public places with no shoes on. ] I remember one of my lucid goals and attempt to walk through a wall into one of the shops. I try it twice, but it doesn't work either time; I'm not surprised at all to discover that the wall is just as solid and “real” as everything else in this dream world. As I continue walking, I think, Wow, this dream is really stable and seems to be going on for a long time. What should I do here? Oh, yeah – the Task of the Month is to hit a DC with a snowball. I'll have to go find a snowball. But there is no snow in this setting, and the weather is clear and bright.

I pass a small shop front on a street corner, with a red brick facade and a walk-up window where you can buy things. I recognize the woman inside as Lisa D., a real-life friend. I stop and talk to her. I say, “Lisa, do you happen to know where I might find a snowball?” She invites me to come into the shop through the door on the side. I stand just outside the door.
[I don't know why; recall is a little vague here.] The small shop is actually a short truck, which is backed up to the brick facade with the window in it with its back cargo door open, forming the interior space. Lisa starts up the truck and starts driving it away from the facade and along the street. I walk quickly along with it for a little way, holding on to the frame of the open, narrow door on the side and keeping pace with it. Then I step up into the truck through the doorway and ride in it. I say aloud, “I could float along with the truck, but when the truck is moving, why make the effort?” I vaguely remember another person being in the doorway with me, but if so, I don't know who it was.

I ride inside the truck as it drives up into the mountains. While sitting in the truck, I hold onto the handle of a plastic bucket, feeling the sensation to ensure the dream remains stable. The truck takes me to a town on a mountaintop. I'm on or near a different, fenced-in school playground
[I think; again, my recall isn't very good here.] I can see buildings on the tops of nearby hills, and I think I catch a glimpse of a patch of snow on a distant hilltop, but I'm not sure.

[I think] The scene shifts again, and I'm walking around on the campus of a community college. [Day residue; I walked back and forth across my real community college campus several times yesterday.] There's no one else around. This community college campus has slightly more traditional-looking architecture than my real one does, has a different layout, and there are more plants around and they're more mature, making the campus greener than my real one. This is a pretty campus, I think. I'm still admiring how vivid and "real" my surroundings are as I explore them, and I'm still looking for snow, but not finding any.

[Dreamskip? Another scene shift? I'm not sure, but the next thing I remember is that] I'm walking through the interior of a large, recreational building. I'm in a spacious, high-ceilinged indoor space with two swimming pools in it, a large, deep one and a smaller, shallower one, at right angles to each other. There are people in this room, many of them kids, walking around, swimming, and getting into and out of the pools. In one corner of the room is the entrance to a child-care room, which is full of brightly pastel-colored play equipment with little kids playing on it. It's separated from the room with the pools by glass walls. One of the glass walls has sticky gel letters on the inside of it, so that they look backward from outside the room. I can still read them backward, though. When I first look at them, I read them as “Children Sno” and think, Yay, snow! Then I approach the room for a closer look and realize that I've misread them; they say “Children Glo.” I leave the room, walking on the path between the narrow end of the larger pool and the longer side of the smaller pool. As I walk, I complain aloud: “There's no snow here! I mean, I know I've lived in Southern California all my life, but come on! Can't I have some imagination?” [I was complaining about the fact that, even though I wanted to complete the Task of the Month, my mind wasn't creating any snow in my dream world. The explanation I came up with for this observation was that I've never spent a winter in an area where it snows, so my mind can't re-create snow very easily, because I've only experienced it in real life a couple of times, so I don't know what it's like very well.]

Outside the recreational building, there's a courtyard or patio where a large group of people are having a celebration or reception. I walk among them without speaking to anyone. No one takes any notice of me. There are folding tables with paper tablecloths and lots of food set out on them, including oatmeal cookies. [I wish I'd thought to try one! This was the first time I've had the chance to try dream food while lucid, and I missed it! Dang!] Still in search of a snowball to throw, I decide to try summoning one by reaching under a small table of food next to a wall, without looking, and expecting a snowball to be there. It doesn't work. When I look, the only thing under the table is a small, open-topped cardboard box with some kind of party supplies in it, like paper napkins. [I note that in my attempts to summon people or things in this dream, I did not have the same quiet assurance and confidence that it would work as I had at those times in the past when I successfully summoned an object. I wasn't truly focusing on it or believing in it this time, which, I think, is why it didn't work.]

I get up from looking under the table and look around at the people celebrating. I sense that the dream is about to end. I close my eyes, hoping to use that method of teleporting to get to another environment. I just end up looking at the inside of my real eyelids.

      -------------------------------
      Side notes:

This dream came at the end of a very bad, emotionally draining day and a late night. I was too tired to really try to induce a lucid dream. All I did was get up for a minute or two and go back to bed right before I had this dream, do a minimal amount of affirmations (maybe one or two), and wear my cardboard-square wristband on the inside of my right wrist, which I hadn't worn at all in a while. It may have been one of these things that caused such a long, vivid lucid dream, or maybe it was just the fact that I'd had a bad day and wanted to escape from it all (even though I consciously told myself before bed that that was stupid). I sure did feel a lot happier and better after waking up from my dream, though.

After waking up, I realized two things about this dream:
      A) Expecting to be able to summon a snowball was stupid because, unlike the seed pod that I successfully summoned before (see entry dated October 26, 2010), a snowball doesn't naturally exist as a discrete object. You have to make a snowball yourself.
      B) I was surrounded by DCs several times. I could have talked to my subconscious and asked for the answers to the questions from my exam that I missed because I had studied those subjects months ago, forgotten about them, and failed to review before the exam. (I'm not saying for sure that it would have worked, but it would have been fun to try. I'm curious to know if it can work.) I actually thought about doing that before I went to bed, but I didn't even think of it while I was dreaming. The only thing it occurred to me to do was to hit a DC with a snowball. Silly me! I will have to add “ask a DC about stuff I should know, but have forgotten” to my list of goals.

One final note: Wow. I now have a recurring, original, named dream character who is neither a pre-existing fictional character nor anyone I know in real life, and seeing him made me go lucid because I remembered meeting him in a previous dream, and here he was again, so I had to be dreaming. That's pretty neat. I can't say for sure that that officially makes him my dream guide, though, at least not just yet. It didn't occur to me to ask him if he was one. If I see him again, I'll try to remember to do that.
    12. If only I had these problems

by , 12-11-2010 at 03:07 PM (Way of the Lizard)
Last night's dreams were all about wish fulfillment: found a job, had a car (in which my MIA glasses turned up), it wasn't snowing, and some random chick offered me blow on the street (not that I'd take her up on it, but it was nice of her to ask). The last thing that happened was I was walking home from work--imagine, working walking distance away!--and this young woman I vaguely remember from a cafe/bar where I used to hang out was on her way to buy some blow and offered me a bump, which I declined. As I cut across a bar parking lot, my cousin forcibly ejected two douchey-looking fellows and suggested I take their shit, which I also declined. I arrived home to find that my two roommates (fictional) had thrown a party without telling me, which was annoying because I had a double the next day at work, but I saw a rather random friend of mine there, and started talking to him.

All in all, a lot of odd supporting characters these days: people I never spent much time with and don't think about to my knowledge, just popping up.
    13. 1/1 Sun: Hot Tub Revisited

by , 11-29-2010 at 10:28 PM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
Had other dreams but didn't write them down because I was focusing on the WILD.

Edit: I now recall more of dream before the incubated scene.

      Flying, Teleporting, Hot Tub Revisited
      Method WILD
      Lucidity C
      Vividness B
      Control B
Once again, I visualize the hot tub scene. I plan to return to this scene several times as I practice my first few WILDs. It's such a vivid memory for me. I visualize being in a friend's backyard a few steps from their hot tub. It's a party with a bunch of high school friends but mostly I am focused on the two girls in the hot tub who waiting for me. I concentrate on the blueness of the water and the silhouettes of the two people sitting in the hot tub.

I transition into dreaming but I am not in the incubated scene. I am outside and it is very dark. I think I am in an alley surrounded by tall buildings. I start flying to figure out where I am. I slowly float up above the buildings and see the cityscape around me. It's still almost pitch black. I see the outline of buildings as faint silver lines. I also see a few spots of color of neon signs. I practice flying a bit. I try to fly standing upright instead of laying out with my arms stretched, Superman-style. I don't see any people or movement so it feels kinda lonely. I practice throwing fireballs and sonic booms. They seem dim and silvery, like the outlines of the buildings.

Now I look upward, hoping to see stars or the moon. But there is just empty blackness. This disorients me and, when I look down again, the city is gone and I am surrounded by blackness. It's not scary though. I think to just fly to a new scene. I recall my visualization of the blueness of the hot tub. I think of that and start flying forward. Soon it seems I am going through a tunnel with the scene at the other end.

Then tada! I am there, in my incubated scene. It's still dark of night, but somewhat lit. It seems to be lit by some of those tiki torch things that people put in their yards. Once again, it's my own backyard instead of the girl's who is hosting the party. I look at my hands. The fingers on the right hand are long and distorted. Cool. I step down into the hot tub and sit between the two girls. I look to the one on my right, Sara. I put my arms around her and appreciate how real she feels. I look at her face. She gives me a big smile. She actually looks like someone else that I recognize, not Sara. I start to turn to look at the other girl but my body goes stiff. I try to look at my hands but the dream quickly fades.
Tried to DEILD but no luck this time.

    14. 1/1 Thu: First Official WILD

by , 11-29-2010 at 10:09 PM (One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy)
This was last Thursday while I was out of town. This was my first successful WILD using the common sleep paralysis technique. I've had DEILDs and I think an accidental WILD once. But this was the first using this technique. Some interesting notes:

      - I've been attempting WILD on and off for about 3 months. Probably about 20-25 attempts.
      - I was out of town in a hotel room instead of my normal bed. It's the first time I've slept in a different bed in quite some time.
      - This was the night of Thanksgiving holiday, so I had a very large meal for dinner, but no alcohol.
      - I went to bed early, compared to my normal schedule.
      - The WILD happened after about 7 hours of sleep.
      - I had other dreams before in the same night, but I didn't have my dream journal with me so I couldn't write them down or recall them.

Awoke naturally after a dream around 7am, decided to try to WILD. I lay still on my back for about 10 minutes and felt some sleep paralysis. Changed position to my side and let my mind wander. After a few minutes, I felt sleep paralysis again and then a strange feeling in my head. It's like when you are really really tired and you feel a swell of tiredness in your head that makes you close your eyes and droop your head suddenly. This was my cue to start visualizing. I had a scene in mind, one that I've been trying to incubate for a long time.

This is real memory from when I was about 15 years old. I'm at a party with a bunch of high school friends in a girl's backyard. They have a pool and a hot tub. I visualize standing a few feet from the hot tub, looking down into the blueness of the water. There are two girls in the pool wearing bikinis. Mostly, I am trying to focus on the blue blob of the water and the dark silhouettes of the two people sitting in it. I start to see the blueness in the hypnagogic hallucination.

I transition into the scene as if through a tunnel with a blue light at the end. I am in the scene and I know I am dreaming. The scene is a bit wrong. It's my own backyard instead of the girl's. And the girls are sitting in reversed positions as compared to how I visualized it. But it's pretty much what I was trying to incubate. I can't move though and I still feel my physical body. I wait patiently and the dream gets a bit clearer. I look at the two girls, now on either side of me. I am excited that I've gotten this far. But now the two girls start arguing with each other. Something about getting your own job instead of working for your father. I'm surprised. I don't know where this dialogue came from. The dream fades.

Now awake, but I can DEILD. I try to visualize the blue water again for a few moments. Then I am reminded that I am laying in bed, so my hallucinations change. I am in a bed with white sheets with the two girls instead of in the hot tub. It's pleasant but I try to concentrate back on the blueness of the water. I re-enter the hot tub scene and wait for it to solidify. I am calmer now. I am able to look around and appreciate the scene. It's bright daylight. I look at one girl and feel her skin. I look at the texture of her brown hair. I am aware that I am sitting in the water, but I don't quite "feel" the wetness. I try to focus on my body to feel the water. The dream fades again.

    15. Birthday party
