2. first lucid dream in a very long time

by , 12-02-2013 at 06:32 AM
Slept at 6:30 - 6:45pm and woke up at 9:00pm

Lucid dream occurred around at 4:24 Am

Experience: i could hear country music playing in the background, saw a you-tube animation video protesting about the war on drugs.

Watching animation, then went down stairs at a person house who use to live with/ be my guardian (but didn't like at all) and realized it was empty, which i thought was unusual and experienced lucidity.

Daydreamed about a girl i fancied and we were in a hotel private pool nude and saw snake tattoo on swirled around and up her leg.

the next dream scene was in a Arabian desert with the sound type mud huts. I was suddenly feeling extremely scared and wanted to get out of lucid dream, even thought nothing scary or threatening actually happened.

But i ended up in a Arabian hut with tent door, and saw an Indian man in a suit who didn't say anything but smiled slightly. i asked my subconscious to appear and when i saw the guy (thinking and hoping he was my subconscious) i yelled either "i want bigger muscles" or "i will have bigger muscles". the logic behind this was auto suggestion to plant a thought that would then affect me in my waking life.

Then i saw blackness, which i assume was me exiting lucid dream due to surge in unnecessary and sudden fear, at which point i experienced higher fear and anxiety because i was scarred of experiencing old hag or some other horrible experience . I had my eyes closed trying to get out of sleep paralysis, planning to pull the cable (light switch) next to me. eventually SP broke and i finally got out of it.

While lying there i saw the ceiling through my eyelids, until i finally moved and got out of bed.

waking experience: upon waking up i did have an urge to lift weights/ potent desire and i can't seem to shake the thought of what it would be like to be big a muscular all of a sudden. I don't have an overwhelming urge to build muscle but it is more potent that before i attempted auto suggestion technique =) I'll have to see if it wears off during the week and hopefully i can learn to not get so terrified upon achieving lucidity

3. success returning to sleep, including dealing with slow-to-sleep waking

by , 11-28-2013 at 08:35 PM
I had some success returning to sleep last night that I'd like to share and comment on.

I had bedtime at around 00:00, and wakings at: 03:00 (recall), 04:25 (no recall),
At around 04:45 I realize I'm not making progress back to sleep. I don't feel drowsy at all. There's no "sleepiness" waiting for me at the exhale of relaxing breaths. I think that's an important signal that sleep is not near, or I'm mentally "holding on too tight" and need to do something to change up the situation and shake this hidden tension loose. Just lying in bed and continuing to relax is not going anywhere.

At about 30 minutes of not sleeping I decide to follow the advice given in several places: get out of bed. You do not want your mind/body to associate being in bed with being awake. I decide to do a "proper" WBTB. Sit in a rocking chair about 20 minutes with eyes closed, working on incubation and visualisation. Move to kitchen, warm some milk & drink it, sit there (all the time in the darkness as much as possible). Massage my jaw muscles (typically the major tension holder in the body). Do some relaxing breaths and find some drowsiness there on the exhale. Decide I'm feeling a bit more drowsy, if not super sleepy, so I go back to bed at 06:00. My alarm is set for 07:30, in the past this knowledge would keep me awake but I ignore it and do not sweat it. I don't "try to sleep", I just try to totally relax more and more deeply on each exhale. Try to maintain the relaxation on the inhale (it seems to receded a bit on the inhale for some reason). I'm sure I can make one more sleep cycle with dreams before the alarm sounds.

back to bed at 06:00 slept fairly quickly, waking at: 07:36 (alarm) (recall)

Back to bed (not main bed, alone, cooler room) at for nap at 09:00 (not too long falling sleep, surprisingly lots of drowsiness on exhale), wakings at: 10:12 (recall) (also not long getting back to sleep after 5 minutes of voice journaling in bed), 12:14 (recall + lucid dream!)

What do I mean by "relaxing breath?" Well, an inhale/exhale that is just a little bit longer than sleep breathing. Not really a big deep breath, just a little bit longer than a normal breath. Inhale as normal, but when exhaling try to imagine all tension melting out of everywhere in your body and mind. Try on each breath to go deeper and deeper, becoming more and more relaxed. I even tell myself these words sometimes (a form of sleep hypnosis induction). Sometimes I constrict my throat a bit to provide a little bit of resistance and sound to the exhale.

This is very encouraging: I'm having more and more success with this technique. With each success come more confidence in my ability to go back to sleep, reducing back-to-sleep stress. For those times where nothing works, get out of bed for a while to shake things up. Sometimes, your body / mind just may not be able to sleep, just know that this won't last forever. As a last resort try something like melatonin. Traditional techniques like warm milk can really help, too.

Eat a small snack if you've been up for a while, it's hard to sleep when hungry.

Make sure the temperature is comfortable for you, this is very important for me I've found. Keep a thermometer by the bed and record temperature at bedtime and waking time and record in your dream journal how well you sleep for that temperature.
4. Incredible Threesome Experienced, 3 People Become One For a Moment

by , 11-24-2013 at 11:12 PM
11/24/13 * ~1145 ~340 wbtb mild+ssild (not meant to be done in the same wbtb at least when learning ssild) sexy strip game turns into incredibly sensual and realistic feeling at times threesome with wife and a very supple skinned blonde woman// I am in a good sized rectangular shaped room with about a dozen or so people and there is some sexy strip game that I either don't know the rules to or have forgotten them since waking and there is one very beautiful but very very game "monkey in the middle" a beautiful blonde woman with delicate features, smallish but beautifully formed breasts who has slowly been losing one item of clothing after another. She has a small wrap around her waste covering the last little bit. Something happens and she loses that last piece covering her and she seems to be loving it. Someone informs me that I am next. I already have my shirt off and I look over to my wife and ask something like "what am I allowed to do with her?" she looks like she is not sure what to say. I tell my wife "all I want to do is feel my skin up against hers" and I go for it. I lay down with her and her skin is so incredibly soft. My wife says "let me get on top" and we somehow partly meld together and I realize I am dreaming (took this long??) and I am already completely naked and I begin to (I will put the rest in a spoiler as it could read X-rated with a little imagination of the specific details that I left out)
Spoiler for sexual content:
and it feels incredibly realistic, I can't get over how incredible it feels despite being "just a dream!"
and I slowly feel my awareness returning to my sleeping body and attempt to re-enter that dream and at some point I somehow re-emerge in a dark parking lot surrounded by a chain-link fence and apparently not lucid and don't seem to have any memory of the lucid previously as I am naked and I am concerned with pulling my pants on but they are incredibly tight. I am guessing this started as a false awakening. I barely get my pants on before a couple of kids pass by but they are lost in their own conversation thankfully. Slowly people of all ages start flowing into the parking lot and I get the feeling that it is a church parking lot and the sun is getting ready to come up and these people are on the way to church (a little dose of shame on me perhaps). One man is saying to I assume the wife that I think that is the same guy except he was wearing brown or green or something. I wake up and I quickly go back to the previous dream and I am just so exhilarated and the pep in my step is still going as I finally post this. I had another interesting dream before this, but probably only interesting to me. Up maybe an hour after not getting back to sleep after writing down the above in my paper journal and had a snack. I also briefly got lucid in a late morning nap but I don't think it deserves counting and was low awareness. It felt more like a late and 2nd wbtb than a nap so I don't even want to call it a lucid nap. I remembered some more dreams after this but this whole night solidified the idea that although my lucidity increases late in the morning if I start going too much beyond 8 hours my lucidity starts waning again.
5. Nicotine Patch Induced LD

by , 10-20-2013 at 02:30 PM
This was a multipart lucid dream. There were many stages of the dream, both that I remember and don’t. I am in a large medieval village and it is a sunny day. The medieval village has a market place at the upper part where there are many shops as well as an area to sit down and eat with many wooden benches and seats. It was quite a bit like Game of Thrones and very on in it I became lucid by using a method that I had just read about in the night. I held out my left hand and drove my right thumb into my palm to see if it would sink in it. As far as I can remember all of my fingers were there. My thumb did sink in to my hand, but not before it hit a bone in it that formed a bump at the base of my middle and ring finger. I must have brought my consciousness into the dream from using the WBTB method combined with the MILD method, repeating the line “I will have a lucid dream tonight” over and over.
As I made my way through the part of the village with a lot of people, as well as chairs and benches, I met the eunich from the Game of Thrones and asked him if it was a dream. He spoke gibberish, completely incomprehensible. From there it was confirmed that it was a dream even more. I started to walk around the village and inside of the castle, which was past the marketplace, further up on the mountain that the village was located on. I went inside of the castle to find many men and women. I didn’t talk to them, but it seemed that I was an important part of their town, probably a lord or king. Everyone paid attention to me, and it seemed they were aware of me like the people in Inception were aware of someone in the presence of a dream that doesn’t belong, but that thought drifted away quickly from my mind, and that is when they acted normal again. I make my way further into the castle and find a hallway with an elevator.
There was a metal grating for the floor, and if you looked down it, you could see many metal stairs that were also grating, going down further and further. I enter the elevator and find some people that seemed like they were from the Matrix movie. I did not know what they wanted me to do, but we saw each other and acknowledged each other. I then seem to fade out of the dream and back into the castle, except it is now night time.
There were less villagers now, probably in their homes. I’m not sure if the lights in the houses were on or not. I remember I wanted to fly up so I tried the technique of pushing off with my right foot to get height and putting my arms out like wings to fly all over the place. I got a very good view over the entire kingdom, being able to see all the village, the castle, and the trees dispersed throughout the mountain the kingdom was on. I knew I did not want it to be dark outside and was feeling somewhat paranoid, so I wanted to turn it to day time. I had doubt in my mind that I could do this because there was so much detail in the world around me, that my mind couldn’t possibly imagine light hitting each of the tiles on the top of the village, hitting each of the leaves on the trees, illuminating all the shaded parts of the marketplace, so it did not happen. I was then reminded of a dream earlier, where I was bicycling down a snowy mountain during the day time, and how beautiful a winter scene could be, then I blacked out and was transported to a flat piece of land in a snowy mountain area with large, mansion-like buildings all over the place. It didn’t seem out of place at the time, but I did my reality check again with my thumb to my palm, and again, it sank into it, hitting a bulged out bone from underneath my skin below my middle and index finger, as if I was bending my fingers slightly too far back. I then made my way around the mansions.
I heard some music from the movie It very faintly, as if my mind was almost trying to transition me into a nightmare, or so I thought. There were lightpoles like the one in the scene from that same movie, where Pennywise jumped on the lightpole after dancing in to frame and reached out at the kids. Those lights were on. Knowing that I was in a dream, I knew I wanted to get higher, possibly to the top of the mansions, but moreso just to get into the sky where nothing could happen to me. I stood near the back corner, outside one of the mansions and tried the same technique I used earlier to fly, getting a small distance into the air, but with substantially more effort than before. I never saw the clown, but after getting to a height near the top of the three floor mansion, I started to fly away. I remember feeling liberated as I flew over the same dream scene that I had before. There was a large snowy hill with all the beautiful cone-shaped trees and I was flying over, and down it. This time though, it was night time. I had had enough of the night and decided that it should be day. I then blacked out and ended up in the village.
I realized now that it was day time. I was in the village again, except now I went to another walkway in a different part of it. It had a low wall on the side, and it outlooked upon a vast sea further down the mountain where there was a small pier and people. I’m not sure if I knew this at the time or not. The long hall floor was made of stone, and there was no wall to my right, which was how I could see out of it. I met a few girls I knew and proceeded to talk with them, among other things. I also saw Miley Cyrus in the same outfit she had on in one of her music videos. Everyone seemed to be in a rush to get into the castle but they knew who I was, and that, ultimately, I was in control. After an exchange, I went inside one of the rooms connected through an archway and down another hall. I talked to a few of the people there and do not recall what they said, but I knew I wanted to appease them. One fellow seemed as if he wanted to see Miley Cyrus, so I obliged him, and through the doorway behind me she appeared in to view. I then remembered that I loved the sea, and wanted to know what sort of interesting things the port I saw earlier held, so I believe I flew down to it.
At the port there was a small wooden pier that went into the water about 10 feet. The water there seemed very deep, almost impossibly deep for being so close to land. On the sides of the pier I could see, or I knew I wanted to see large creatures, or rather, gigantic silhouettes, somewhat whale like. Knowing that it couldn’t be just whale like creatures, I saw a somewhat long neck emerge from the top of the silhouette. On it was a large size head for its body, and the sides of its top jaw formed incisor like formations, much the same as a bone fish would have. I couldn’t see any teeth. There were villagers at this area, feeding the giant creatures. I felt that these were large and imposing creatures, but I knew that they were not our enemies, and they probably protected our town. The villagers looked up to me, and I thought more about how I could use my powers in my dreams. I wanted to feed them, but had no fish, so I pointed to an area of water, near one of the creatures, and I flicked my pointer finger against my thumb at the spot, and there appeared a live fish swimming in the water where there was nothing before. I tried out this a few more times, and more fish appeared, one appeared in the air right above the water, and made a splash as it entered the water. Realizing the power that I discovered, I set out back up to the village using the power along the way, to mixed success. Having achieved a few of the wants that I had for my lucid dreaming state, I realized that I wanted to go to outer space. I flew into the sky with much more velocity than before, the village quickly disappearing into the distance, then the clouds, then the atmosphere until I started zooming through space.
I believe that my view of the cosmos was heavily reliant on the pictures I had seen taken through the hubble telescope, and as such it seemed as if the stars, while so far away, seemed clumped together in almost wallpaper-like fashion. It was 3d mixed with 2d, but I saw many amazing galaxies. I felt slightly underwhelmed and overwhelmed at the same time. After a while of traveling through the skies, I wanted something to happen, and I came upon a large smokey cloud seemingly underneath a spiral galaxy. It seemed somewhat malevolent in nature, in that it appeared underneath the center of the galaxy where the black hole of a galaxy is supposedly located. As I traveled closer to it, the veil of smoke had receded in my point of view, and I saw a gigantic creature with around 10 tentacles and a large oval body with one gigantic eye and a mouth. The tentacles seemed to be reaching up in to the galaxy grabbing and destroying things in its path. I floated closer to it and it spoke to me. I couldn't understand, or remember what it said when those large lips moved. I believe when I looked into his mouth I could see large, canine-like teeth. I was not afraid, but rather, wanted to defeat this monster. It reached one of its tentacles out at me and I said the word “Omega” which I had seen earlier online, and out popped a blue shield that was impervious to damage, and protected me from the attack. Knowing that I wanted to take the creature down, I thought on the flip side of the coin, if Omega was the shield, Alpha was the sword, so called upon that same word and no sword popped out. I called out Omega again, after my previous shield had disappeared and out came another shield. The battle raged on, and unsure of the victor, I then blacked out and transitioned again.
I now ended up in the same village during the day time. Nothing too important happened here. I was mostly content with just surveying and walking through it and that was the last of the dream that I could remember.
6. LD: Inviting people to fly with me.

by , 10-16-2013 at 05:54 AM
I had a very long lucid dream. It was one of those dreams when you wake up you're not sure you can remember everything you did. But I'll try.

First memory. I was in a basement family room. I remembered I wanted to do the lucid task where you were to walk on the walls and ceiling. I tired to walk up the wall. I was surprised that I was having trouble. I had pictured doing it and it seemed like such a simple task. Finally I just used the heels on my shoes and dug them into cracks and walked up the wall that way.

Later my dad was in the room. I wanted to show him that I could hover on the ceiling. I floated up and landed on the ceiling and called to him so I could show him.

Later I was on what looked like my back deck, only it was higher and the surrounding area looked like California. I knew I could fly, but I was reluctant since the ground seemed so far below. But I bravely jumped into the abyss and luckily started to hover...then fly. I flew down to a group of people where I saw Jeanene L. I said Hi as I flew by.

At one point I came to a trailer park. A guy was coming out of a trailer. His mom was yelling at him. The guy was in his 20s and looked like Prince Harry. I flew to him and asked if he wanted to get away and fly with me. He reached out his arm and I took his hand and he immediately arose and started to fly with me. I knew he was happy to be with me.

I seem to remember waking at this point. I forced myself back into the dream and I ended up on my deck again. I did the same thing. Again I found a guy to fly with. This guy was about 20 and had medium length brown hair. I don't remember much about this part.

If I remember correctly I had another FA that sent me back to my deck. I flew off once again. I remember reaching out and running my hand through the leaves of a mulberry tree as I flew.

I have a brief memory of my aunt.

I then saw a group of people. I decided I needed to find a guy to kiss. It took a while to finally find a guy that looked right. This guy was about 20 and had dark brown curls and a nice face with full-ish lips. I started to kiss him and he kissed me back. It was a nice slow kiss. I think I also flew with him.
7. LD 10.10.13 - Skipping chem was worth it

by , 10-10-2013 at 05:36 PM
So I woke up around 5:50 am this morning after going to bed around midnight. I worked out, ate breakfast and went to class. I decided to skip chem (it was only a review for homework I haven't started) and decided to nap. I hoped I would catch my REM cycle and I did.
I laid down for a nap at 9:35. I did some relaxation and breathing exercises and began to fall asleep. I lost focus and found myself being forced back to awareness in my relaxed state by hearing the sound of loud snoring/coughing coming from me. This was not me, however, I was experiencing some HH noises. They were very loud. After that, I rolled onto my side and fell asleep. I repeated to myself,"I'm dreaming", which didn't last long. I fell asleep and found myself in a dream. The details before lucidity are hazy.
I realized I was dreaming by noticing something off in my environment. Everything seemed so REAL, I was thoroughly convinced I was in reality even though I had noticed something was wrong with the reality I was experiencing. I decided to do an RC and found I was dreaming. I decided to try to solve my Rubik's cube and the dream faded after about another minute (dream time).

8. The robbers of the redneck family

by , 09-15-2013 at 12:00 PM (The Redeeming Dreamer)
9/15/2013, 10:05-5:50

I got off the computer at 8:25 last night. Didn't meditate, too busy talking with my family. Went to sleep at like 10:05, couldn't fall asleep till 11:00.

Dream 1:

I was in a town, and there was an arena in it. I went into the arena and forgot the rest of what happened. There was also the number 20 somewhere.

Wake-up (3:42):

Got up to go to the bathroom and drink some water. Thought about having an LD and stayed up for 3 minutes till 3:45 (numbers are in order ). Then, I fell asleep around 15 minutes later, and had a "lucid moment". Woke up a few seconds afterwards, probably too excited.

Dream 2:

This one was pretty long. I was in a barn at first. Well, a barn that was somehow turned into a bar. I saw these four suspicious people. They were all fat; really fat. One was an Indian guy, another was African-American guy. There was also a fat white woman, and a fat white guy with glasses. They were all staring at me and talking to each other.

So I left the bar and met my dad. We went to someone's house (a redneck-ish person) that looked EXACTLY like mine! Dad and I stayed there for a few hours, talking with the guy. There was also this cute curly blond daughter the guy had. I think I talked to her. All was well when, eventually, I saw the four fat people again! They were on the back deck of the house. My dad and the redneck guy were in the living room, talking, while I was with his daughter standing, staring at the 4 trespassers. They tried to quickly open the sliding screen door, but I quickly locked it with every lock there was (which, apparently, was that driving lock thing and three regular door locks on the side, more than it actually has). The 4 people then got angry, and entered the house through a secret door that I NEVER NOTICED before (sarcasm) that somehow went into the basement. I started screaming, "THEY'RE IN THE BASEMENT! THEY'RE IN THE BASEMENT!" Our parents and us quickly got up and went into the master bedroom. The redneck guy was trying to open the gun safe, when the four fat people came into the room, each carrying a pistol.

The Indian guy then started pointing his gun at everyone, along with the white guy. The Indian was talking about something, probably to do with this being a robbery. He pointed his pistol at me, saying, "I'll shoot him!" (or something to that effect) and I then crossed my arms and rolled to the side, thinking he doesn't know where my chest is, if he shot me (lol what the heck was I thinking?). I then realized my arms were crossed and put them behind my back, palm in palm against the wall. My dad then said, "Okay. Let's go sit in the living room and negotiate something." (or, again, something like that) and all the adults left, leaving me and the girl in the bedroom.

I tried to open the gun safe. It had a fairly sharp point at the top, and the top number was 2000! I then saw the girl go into the closet. I asked, "Why you going in there?" She said, "I don't want them finding me when I come back." I then decided to climb in with her. I then got this feeling we were gonna end up making out, and the dream ended.
9. Lucid, TARDIS flying, house vibrating, Sith base

by , 09-06-2013 at 11:56 AM (The Redeeming Dreamer)
9/6/2013, 10:10-6:25

Regular Dream Lucid Dream Awake

I went to sleep after meditating, repeating the mantras, "I remember that I'm dreaming when I'm dreaming," and, "I remember my dreams when I wake up." During meditation, I repeated those mantras, too. I took a drink of water, went to the bathroom, and went to bed with the air conditioner on.

Dream 1:

I remember a Sith base, and people running around it. I was watching from the ceiling, but it was really a camera dream, without me being in an actual body. I watched as the base was apparently under attack.

I woke at 3:21 (with a reality check of course). My dog seemed to need to go outside, so I went out with him. It was cold out there. As he took a piss, I looked up at the stars, and tried to sort out any constellations I could find. None. I then got back inside, drank some more water, took another piss, and went back to bed at 3:26. I couldn't really sleep because I was thinking of too much about my dream from last night AND my dog was barking a lot. I eventually got frustrated and put him in my neighboring room, where my grandma was sleeping. I eventually got back to sleep.

Dream 2:

I remember playing Empire: Total War. That is all.

Dream 3:

This one was a false awakening. I went out of my room and started reading a book on the living room couch. Then I started noticing that the house was vibrating! I went downstairs into the basement and noticed that the house wasn't completely on the ground. It was lifted up slightly by a piece of wood. "That must explained the vibrations," I thought to myself. I probably thought the boiler was making the house vibrate, combined with the house lifted up slightly.
(In real life, it probably was the train passing.)

I eventually noticed the illogical sense behind this, and turned lucid. A sudden rush of energy and vibrations came over me. I heard a sound similar to a helicopter starting up as I turned lucid, too. I suddenly imagined the TARDIS (probably as a reality check). I suddenly saw the TARDIS levitating off the ground, and me, as a camera, rotating around it as I lifted off the ground. I then tried to do something else, but I "pressed the wrong button", and accidentally opened my real eyes. I woke up to the sound of my dog barking again.
10. Failed SSILD goes party

by , 09-06-2013 at 11:52 AM
Really? Again? I find myself at a club and there are masses of people, dancing and enjoying the evening. After a few conversations wich I can't remember the party quiets down.

I decide to leave and ask a friend for a ride home. Out of nothing I see my friend B. and he asks me if he can join our ride. We squeeze inside the car (It was small, unreal small) and we drive off. On the ride he starts doing lines of coke and we get thrown out of the car.

Fragment: He trashes a big skip of gravel - We get busted - We hang out in a coffee shop with the cops.

The dda-ld ("didn't-do-anything lucid dream") is a stupid dream where you suddenly have the realization that you're dreaming, but your brain is a d-bag and says, "You know what? Let's not have a lucid dream." and you end up waking yourself up, effectively screwing yourself out of having a lucid dream that you actually do something in, hence the dda-ld.

I have actually had many of these stupid dreams in the past. This is just the first one I've decided to post. So here it is, the dda-ld:

Key:
Lucid Dream
Non-lucid dream
Woken Up
Sleep Paralysis

Dream 1:

I remember a jellyfish. That is all.

The DDA-LD:

I then woke up at probably around 3:00 in the morning, having to go to the bathroom. I got up, took a piss, stood around for a few seconds for the WBTB effect, then went back into bed. It was a bit cold, so I couldn't go to sleep right away. I was then laying there when suddenly I started feeling the rushing, vibrating, and the hypnagogic hallucinations of sleep paralysis. I remember some HH of me looking at porn on the computer () and then an icon suddenly appeared in the bottom right corner that I couldn't get rid of. I became scared I was gonna get found out. Then I suddenly woke up in my bed. I kind of knew I was dreaming, but I wasn't sure, so I tried to create something; a sound, an object, a smell, anything. Whenever I tried to create anything, all that would happen was the rushing sound and vibrations, which I was thinking were like me trying to concentrate on creating something. I then gave up on that and instead, my brain said "screw it" and tried to wake me up the same way I woke up in a prievious LD: by doing the nose plug reality check, and got too involved with the breathing of my physical body, that I wake myself up. That didn't work this time, so I just closed my eyes to connect with the physical body, and I woke myself up.

So that is my DDA-LD. Technically, I'd call it a DDA-WILD because of the sleep paralysis, but it still is a DDA-LD. Though, this isn't a total failure, since this actually is the first time I've had a WILD.
12. This time my lack of recall is my own fault

by , 08-15-2013 at 12:26 AM (SilverWolf's Sleep Sessions)

So I'm doing the wake up every 90 minutes thing to catch myself dreaming, so I can write down dreams in this dream journal, and therefore I can improve recall. Except THIS time, when I woke up, my tired mind tricked me into believing it could remember what it was dreaming WITHOUT writing the dang dream down. So, when the alarm went off, what did I do? I moronically believed my tired brain in my hazy state, and rolled right over, going to sleep.

So, here's what little I remember, thanks to my rebellious little brain telling me I could rely on it for it's superb (riiiight) memory.

August 14, 2013 3:00 am

All I remember is that I was in a deeply wooded forest. It was pretty dark in there too. Was it a scary forest? A happy forest? A forest with little polar bears sipping root beers while balancing on rubber balls? I wouldn't know because I stupidly did not write down my dream! when I woke up. So anyone reading this, don't repeat my mistake

8:00 am

Got in an argument with dad about something. It felt really important to me inthe dream, but I cannot remember just why we were arguing. I do remember he'd said something realllllly offensive to me, but I just don't remember what it wass; only that it made me very, very upset. Hmmmmmmmmm.
13. "Amazing Mirror" (LUCID)

Tuesday, August 13th 2013: "Amazing Mirror" (LUCID)
Type: WBTB/WILD

After a brief WBTB period (around 10 minutes), I begin to slowly enter sleep paralysis. After the vibrations begin I relax as usual and focus on seeing through my eyelids. A few moments later the picture becomes clearer and clearer. After about 5 seconds, my bedroom becomes extremely vivid, and I just move my dream body and sit up. Excited that I entered a dream, I take a deep breath and get up from my bed. I look down at it, thinking maybe I'll see my body lying there, but no... I just see the bed, the pillow, and the sheets. I analyze the objects in my room and laugh because it's just so vivid. I am also lucid enough to know that I'll soon have to get up for work, and worry that maybe my alarm clock will wake me up soon and ruin my lucid dream. Now I enter my living room. It is day time, actually morning, just as in reality. I see one of my friends lying on the couch, but he doesn't live here at all. I tell him this is not reality, and ask him if he already knew that. He says no, and seems a bit disappointed. I tell him I have some things to do/experiment with, and that I won't disturb him, so he can remain lying on the couch. He laughs and says ok.

In my living room there is a big mirror in the same position just like in real life. Now it dawns on me that I wanted to experiment with mirrors next time I become lucid. Very excitedly I step closer to the mirror and closer. Now I see my reflection... which is... extremely odd, just as always. But this time I am analyzing every detail of it, and it simply amazes me. My reflection is "angry", and "scary". My eyes look very focused, as if I'm ready to attack someone. One eyebrow is raised, which looks funny. In any case, the atmosphere is somewhat eerie, but it's a good feeling nonetheless. Now I move to the left, and the reflection seems to move just a bit differently, perhaps with a 1 second delay, and some minor differences in movement. Then I move to the right, and again, there is a delay and minor differences. Then I get very close to the mirror and analyze my face. One eyebrow is still raised, eyes are still scary, and the face is in "attack-mode." I actually laugh at this point, but my reflection doesn't laugh.

At this point I decide to try what I read somewhere on the internet, and that's pulling the reflection out of the mirror. First, I stick my hand inside the mirror for a second, then pull it out. It looks cool, kind of like pushing your hand into liquid. I move my hand really close, then push it inside the mirror very fast and grab my reflection's hand. I pull it out, and pull, and pull... first up to the wrist, then up to the elbow. He's pulling back very hard, and I'm pulling in my direction. My friend watches the whole thing in amusement. I tell him to help me pull him out of the mirror. Gets up and helps me. However, at this point the arm begins stretching kind of like rubber, and I see that I can't pull him out, instead it's just like a very long arm that is now almost pulled to the end of the room. My friend and I decide to let go of the arm, and it just pulls itself back very fast into the mirror, snapping back kind of like a rubber band.

A false awakening occurs. I am in my bed, but I already know it's a false awakening without doing a reality test. Everything is amazingly vivid again. I laugh and get up, but before I get to do anything... my alarm clock "really" wakes me up.
14. Older dreams (Part 3)

Another entry from my WORD (.doc) dream journal:

Monday, 18. April 2011: "Sunlight" (LUCID)
Type: WILD/WBTB

After about 4 hours of sleep, I get up, and go back to bed a couple of minutes later. I get sleep paralysis, then get a little uncomfortable and will myself out of it by trying to move my head as hard as possible. That always works for me. After that, I get it again, then I get the illusion that my head starts shaking and banging against the pillow. I also feel slight pressure in my entire body. I keep saying to myself that I will have a lucid dream. The next thing I know, I am in a dream, laying in my bed in the same position I fell asleep in. Everything looks the same. I get up, and start walking a bit around the room, reminding myself outloud that it is a dream. I start paying attention to the details, particularly the light switch on the wall. A few seconds later the environment begins to fade. I try to relax and rub my hands against one another, and the dream stabilizes a bit. I walk into the living room, and the door is open, I see the sunlight outside, and it is also shining onto the floor.

However, looking at the sunlight destabilizes the dream and it begins to fade even more. I go back into the bedroom, which is darker, and the clarity improves. I focus, remind myself once more that I am in a dream, and then walk again into the living room. The sun once again causes the dream to begin breaking up so to speak, and losing clarity very much. Now I decide I will start spinning in order to stabilize it. So, in the living room, I spread my hands out, and start to spin and spin, expecting and hoping that the environment will stabilize. However, it continues to fade, and eventually... I don't know what happened after that. I did not wake up. It seems there was some kind of pause after that, if that's possible. Some kind of non-dream period? After that I only vaguely remember a non-Lucid dream.
15. Brief lucidity with WBTB

by , 07-30-2013 at 10:18 PM
Brief Lucid Dream:

I was doing a WBTB so lucidity was on my mind. I was waiting in what I think was a room or hallway. I had this thought that I might be dreaming because I thought I could do that thing I always do in LDs where I fall backwards and right before I hit the floor I bounce right back up (I need to come up with a name for that so I don't have to describe it every time.) But then I doubted it thinking that I had already tried but couldn't. Finally I gave it a try and found that indeed I was dreaming. Then I think I tried to do something with my lucid powers, but all I remember is feeling somewhat disappointed.

And then it was all over.

How lame.
