    1. The Principal is Visiting

      Notes:
      This week at school, I was using the school computers to make a powerpoint presentation for my Chemistry class. I finished a few of the slides on Monday and saved the file. Then I opened up the file on another computer and finished the rest of the presentation. When I went to present it yesterday for class, instead of giving me the finished version of the file, it gave me the version with only the first few slides. I didn't know how this happened and even now I don't know. This must have been the reason for the following dream.

      A very short dream. I was my room, sitting on a plush, red, cube-shaped chair at my desk. The desk was fairly deep, black-stained wood, with metal handles for the two drawers on the left-hand side. My silver macbook pro was sitting on the center of the desk, and my printer was on the back left corner. Unlike in real life, there were no posters on the beige walls where the desk was positioned. There was no lamp, or photos... It was empty. There was nothing on the floor, either. The lighting in the room was a bit dim and moody.

      I turned to the left, facing the door to my room. I expected the principal of my school to walk in at any moment. However, she was already in the room; she was sitting on a regular fold-out plastic and metal chair.

      "Finally, you're here," I told her, completely ignoring how I'd been waiting for her to arrive despite the fact she was already in my bedroom. "I've been having problems with my files at school. You have to call the I.T. guys to come over here and see what the problem is."

      That's all I remember.

    2. blood and skin test

      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

      I was in a hospital room with a young man and woman who appeared to be doctors. The woman was blonde and slightly tanned. The man's appearance may have changed, but at least for some time he had long, frizzy-curly hair and a short beard. Both doctors wore long, white lab coats. The woman sat at a desk with a computer. At first I lay on the bed. The whole place felt really cluttered somehow.

      I was going to have a blood test and a skin test. I was familiar enough with how people took blood, but I was kind of worried about the skin test. I didn't know how people took skin samples.

      The man told me, "It really hurts. And the pain stays with you. Because you have to keep the skin sampler on you for half an hour. And the whole time you have it on, it's just like, 'Aagh! Aagh!'" I thought that if what the man was saying was true, this would really suck. But I wasn't going to be afraid.

      The man took my right (?) hand. He took a lime-green, plastic device that looked like a thimble as long as an index finger. He put the base, the open end, against the back of my hand, right where the thumb joint comes into the base of the hand. I knew there was a little, guillotine-blade-shaped metal device inside the thimble.

      The man clicked something on the thimble. The blade snapped down and dug into my skin. It hurt a little, but not as much as I'd thought it would. I kept waiting for some kind of delayed effect, like a pain that would get worse and worse. But I just kept having the same kind of dull pain.

      Eventually I walked over to the woman, who still sat at the computer. She was going to take my blood. I figured I might as well hang out near her while I waited for her to draw my blood. For some reason, for this entire time, I kept my hand elevated right in front of my face.

      I was at home with some friends and some family. One of my friends was on the PC as well as my wife. I needed my PC to do some work and review e-mails.

      I got to my PC so did my wife. The desk was made out of brown wood and it was slightly bigger than real. My wife told me that we could both use two computers. One computer that does not work on waking (a netbook) was on the right side and I was invited to use that one.

      I told my wife I had a lot of work to do and all my stuff was on the big laptop, so we switched computers.

      I started to work until my cat woke me up.

    4. Two Anxiety Dreams

      I'm at work, viewing the contents of my work e-mail account. I discover, to my surprise and dismay, that earlier, when I logged in to Petpet Park from work using my existing password and my new work e-mail address, the site created a whole new account for me and began sending e-mail alerts related to that account to my work e-mail address. Each of these e-mail alerts is marked with one of Petpet Park's pawprint icons. I'm very worried that my boss will see these e-mails and find out that I've been goofing off and playing games at work.

      [Different dream.] I'm having a somewhat heated discussion with my parents about my living arrangements.

      Side notes:

      I was already consciously aware that I was anxious about the topic of the second dream, but not the first one. That first dream brought my guilt and fear that my less-than-stellar work habits will be discovered to my conscious attention for the first time. I love it when dreams give me useful insights like that.
    5. football catch fail

      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

      I was with my friend H on some kind of grassy field that seemed to be indoors. The field seemed to be some in some kind of square, maybe even surrounded by small poles and belt-barriers.

      H and I were playing catch with a football that also seemed a little weird. It seemed to be made out of smooth leather, kind of shiny and tan colored.

      I threw the football pretty well a couple of times. But then I kept throwing the ball so that it hit the ground a few feet away from H. H might have thrown to me the same way eventually. The throws became consistently like this. I would be short from her by a couple feet, and she would be short from me by a couple feet.

      H was laughing at her throws, as is she thought it was funny how bad she threw. But I remembered she had thrown well before. I told her, "Try not to mirror me when you throw. You're throwing like me, because that's the way you think you should do it. But you actually throw a lot better when you throw like yourself."

      Later, H and I were somehow remembering a moment from H's first day in high school. It made H feel nostalgic, even though something may actually have prevented her from having finished high school the first time around.

      The view was from way high up, like from the ceiling of a cathedral. I saw down to a huge crowd of kids and adults, massed all together in a stony cathedral. There was a huge, stone, octagonal-cylindrical "pulpit." A few kids sat in benches along the walls of that pulpit. H was among those kids. All the kids there seemed happy, although H had, at some point, intimated how miserable she had been in high school.

      At another point, H and I were at one edge of the indoor grassy field. There was a wall of computers, or something like a control panel. H sat at a swivel chair in front of a computer. She was pushed back from the computer, relaxed in the chair, and looking at me as I stood on or near the grass.

      At another point, I saw an image of two girls, one of whom may have been H. The girls were at least topless, if not naked, and they were cuddling with each other. I thought it was nice that the girls were lovers. But I also thought it meant something scientific.

      I had the idea in my head of two chemicals. One was phosphorus. Either both of the girls were like phosphorus, which in conjunction with each other caused the evaporation of the phosphorus and the release of a second chemical; or else one of the girls was the second chemical, and the conjunction of the two chemicals caused some other kind of reaction. The chemical had a name like "metargon," but it wasn't that.

      (Side note: I've been reading Occult Chemistry, by Annie Besant and CW Leadbeater. The book is on Project Gutenberg, www.gutenberg.org. It kind of details the views that the clairvoyants Besant and Leadbeater had when they examined chemical elements in a paranormal way.

      Besant and Leadbeater claimed to have found additional chemical elements, including the element "metargon," which I think my brain appropriated.

      The book also shows diagrams of chemical elements on what Besant and Leadbeater call the etheric planes. Some of these diagrams look like church windows. That, in conjunction with the whole royal wedding thing, I think, influenced the image of the cathedral.)

      I don't remember how I became lucid but I was at a dinner table and I knew I was dreaming all of a sudden. Then after some time I rubbed my hands together and my vision went all weird... Then I jumped across the table and punched or kicked my cousin, Zack. He pushed me back or something.

      Then I was at my computer and since DV is in my bookmarks bar on the first spot I clicked it. Then my bookmarks kept changing and I kept clicking on them. That's all I think I did.
      Verrryyy lame way to spend a lucid dream lol.

    8. LD 1: Exploring My House

      NON DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I am standing in my bedroom, and it's nighttime. I look at my bed, and notice something strange. I can't really explain it, but I see what looks like one of those colorful decorative window stickers kids make, but it was in the shape of a cartoonish old lady, and it was big. I realize I must be dreaming, because what I currently see is never usually there. I do a RC, and suddenly everything becomes vivid, because I can still breathe through my nose even though I'm pinching it shut. I'm not sure what to do, so I slowly walk out of my room and into my hallway.

      As I'm walking down the hall, I remember reading about how reflections look weird in the dream world. So I poke my head into my bathroom and look in the mirror. The only thing that's different is the fact that I have lots of bangs covering my face. I shrug it off and continue walking down the hallway, into my living room. I'm standing there and I decide I want to try and change my environment. I close my eyes and concentrate, telling myself that when I open my eyes, I'll be in a completely empty, solid white room. Err, I failed. I was still standing in my living room.

      Then, I wanted to try and change my appearance. I look in the mirror in the living room, and (probably because I had just watched Elf in real life) tried to change myself to look like Zooey Deschanel. Well, that didn't work either.

      I also remembered how technology usually doesn't work correctly in dreams. So I see my laptop on the table and try to turn it on. It does, but the internet isn't working and Google is wacky. That's when my brother walks out of his room, eating an apple, and keeps bothering me, trying to figure out what I'm doing on the computer. I want him to leave me alone but he keeps irritating me. Yep, he's pretty much being exactly how he is in real life, even the apple eating. Suddenly my mom walks out of her room, and yells at my brother to go back to bed because it's too early. But she doesn't seem to see me.


      I wake up, very happy.
    9. drawings and lectures; radioactive bullets; melissa etheridge video

      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

      I was at a table with an old friend. The table may have been wide. Possibly we were each actually sitting at two round tables. I was showing my friend some drawings. One of the drawings was of a tyrannosaurus being attacked from all around by a bunch of smaller dinosaurs, like velociraptors.

      For some reason, I felt like I had unconsciously taken elements from a story my friend had written and put them into my drawing. I tried to explain to myself how I hadn't done that, and how my drawings were original.

      My friend and I, still sitting at the table(s), were now at the back end of some audience watching a performance at some bandshell. It was night. My friend began telling me about a series of lectures. There were apparently ten lectures. They all had to do with the monolith (like from 2001). Each lecture took place in some different level of some location.

      I saw the program for the lectures. Each lecture had its own page-long description. Each page was made to look like a blue night sky full of stars.

      My friend tried to explain to me where the lectures were located. It was somewhere in New York City that I should have been pretty familiar with. I said the name of some place out loud. My friend looked at me, disappointed that my knowledge was so lacking regarding New York City that I would think that was the location he'd meant.

      Dream #2

      A narrator spoke about some secret test performed by the military. A view showed a group of people like zoo workers releasing a rhinoceros into a lake in some kind of dusty, deserty area in the wild.

      The rhinoceros walked out into the lake and began swimming. Once the rhinoceros was at a certain distance, one of the zoo workers shot something at it, right at the bridge of its nose. The narrator explained that this was a radioactive bullet that would penetrate the rhinoceros' brain.

      The rhinoceros now looked more like a hippopotamus. The place where the bullet had entered didn't even have a scar. It was like the bullet had been extra small. But the hippo was already beginning to feel the effects of the radiation. It was getting incredibly angry. It started roaring and snorting.

      As the hippo swam to shore, the narrator explained that the radiation was already beginning to eat away at the "rhinoceros'" brain tissue, making it uncomfortable and uncontrollably aggressive.

      The hippo was now ashore. But it was now a gorilla. It lay on its back, roaring in anger and writhing. The narrator explained that now the "rhinoceros" was completely paralyzed. But the decay process in its brain would now slow down a lot. The rhinoceros would lay there paralyzed and decaying for forty days before it would finally die.

      Dream #3

      I was watching some Melissa Etheridge video that was apparently from the 1980s. The song was a kind of post-war style song in a 1980s style. The video was very stagey, with a pinkish orange backdrop, before which different thin elements would shift back and forth, depicting scenes such as the home, the office, and driving.

      The song and video all related to different girls Melissa Etheridge had been in relationships with. One scene showed Ethedridge at a computer (which may have been on the hood of a 1950s car) while a really pretty office girl fawned over her. But then a really pretty black girl came up and started kissing Etheridge. Etheridge and the black girl walked away. The office girl looked heartbroken.

      In another scene, the office girl was leaning over the hood of a 1950s style car. A few other pretty girls were by this car and another car. Etheridge walked into the scene. All the girls were vying for Etheridge's love, but it was somehow implied that Etheridge wouldfall in love with the office girl.

      I am being chased by futurist cops for some reason and I have some sort of chip in
      the back of my head that they are using to track me and they are trying to somehow
      get information records from the chip which somehow takes video footage from my
      vision. I go down a staircase on the edge of a dark town. I go through a broken down
      looking wooden doorway across a board to a very run-down wooden building. I am in
      a dark room and there is furniture everywhere. Bed sheets are hanging from bedposts
      and the ceiling and I start crawling under all the furniture so as not to be seen. I am
      going somewhere but I'm not sure. I know that this is the "head quarters" for the cops.
      They are police but they also seem very much like a mafia group. I sneak out of the
      building again and go back out the rickety wooden boards and up the stairs. I talk to
      the head cop but he can't arrest me or anything and he shows me surveillance of me
      talking to some guy in a trench-coat outside of what appears to be a grocery store. I
      then go back to the hq building. I sneak through again but I am caught and have to
      fight the mafia cops. I fight them off and run into a room that is let up blue by very
      advanced looking computer equipment. I rip the chip out of the back of my head and
      download the information to the computer. I see a progress bar on the screen. "come
      on, come on... " I am very anxious. Finally the download finishes. I remove the chip and
      destroy it. I then load the information onto a flash drive and take it. I win.
      The dream ends.

    11. 0/1 Sun: A Long Weird One

      Chuck's Bad Day and Flirting with Bi-Sexual Winona Ryder
      I'm living in a house with a bunch of people. It feels like a frat house. I sleep in a downstairs room shared with two other people. I wake up early and talk to the three roommates. One is Chuck and he says he had a bad day yesterday. Another is Ken Marino and he pulls me aside to tell me he's going to bake a cake. We walk to the living room where there is a whiteboard with math equations on it. Chuck erases part of the board and starts writing more math equations while describing his bad day. I ask something like "Did you really have a bad day? Or did you have an average day that fell short of your expectations?" This suggestion upsets Chuck and he storms off back to the bedroom.

      It's still early morning. Other people are starting to wake up in the house. There is an open staircase visible in the living room, like the SAV house, and I sense that people are emerging from the bedrooms upstairs and moving to the kitchen or leaving the house. I walk back to my bedroom to find Chuck. Chuck is at the desk with a laptop and his cell phone. I lay on the bed. He starts talking again, but I don't recall about what. I am looking at the laptop. There's a computer program running that solves chess puzzles. There is an animated chessboard as the program tries different move sequences. When the program solves the puzzle, it sends a text message and starts a new one. Chuck gets up leaves the room. He leaves his phone. A moment later, the laptop finishes another puzzle and Chuck's phone buzzes, showing he got a text message.

      So I'm alone for a moment in the bedroom. Once again I remark that it's early morning by the hint of sunlight from the window. A new person walks in and tells me that one of our housemate's boyfriend stayed overnight. I recognize the housemate as Patrick's sister. Then a few more people enter the room including Patrick's sister, a guy (who I assume to be the boyfriend), and a girl with short black hair who looks like Winona Ryder.

      Winona flops on the bed next to me and starts talking to me in a very friendly way. It's a bit awkward for me because I don't know this person and all the other people in the room are watching. Winona says she's leaving soon with everyone to go to campus. She has a long day ahead of her. She's a college student and she studies at Disneyland. At one point, she changes position on the bed so that she's laying across my body. Then she asks if I want to hang out later that day. I say sure. She says not here in LA, but down at Disney. Again, I say sure. Then she smiles, happy that we made a date and then she leaves.

      So I'm feeling pretty proud of myself but there are still those few people left in the room who have just been watching all time. They seem horrified. I ask what's wrong. Patrick's sister leaves the room, upset. Then Hugh explains that Winona is Patrick's sister's girlfriend that they were talking about earlier. Girlfriend? I thought they said boyfriend. And I didn't know she was a lesbian. Then I ask Hugh who she is because she looks like a famous actress (at this point in the dream, I hadn't yet remembered Winona Ryder's name, just recognized the face). He says he doesn't know her name either. He says to name a movie that she was in. "Reality Bites." He's never seen it. "How could have never seen Reality Bites?" Sorry, name another. I can't think of another. I say, "Just pull out your phone, google Reality Bites, and read the first name that comes up." He suggests a few other names, but I know none of them are right.


      Wow, that was long. It felt like at least 30 minutes of real time. After a woke up, I remembered the name Winona Ryder. And I just now remembered that Patrick's sister's name is Jennifer.
    12. Fragments

      Horrible recall + staying at other people's houses for a few days = limited dream journal entries

      My friend Gabe comes over quite unannounced. He goes on my computer and we look at my computer history one page at a time together. I'm really uncomfortable. I had a false awakening that I wrote this down.


      Jamie is in a very surreal version of his apartment with a fuzzy tie dye shirt and matching tie dye sweater. The sleeves are rolled up and held in place with weird little velcro tabs on each arm.


      I keep having small Sims things pop up into my dreams since I re-downloaded The Sims 2 A burglar came into the area that I was having my dream. My POV shifted into the usual top-down view when playing, and I saw him creepin around the entire area stealing Sims objects. The view was pretty neat, because I could see myself and where I was dreaming, and then the whole area that I was in.


      My mom bleached my hair and then started to dye parts of it bright blue
    13. computer games, bar scene

      The first dream was probably because I've started playing a new MMO called Rift. Also, I had a dream earlier in the night, but the last few days I've been so tired that I don't write them down many times. Hopefully it's just a phase

      3/5-6. 3. Playing WoW on dad’s computer on the couch. He comes in and says, “Are you at a stopping point? I need to get on” “Yah, I just have to loot these guys.” Get off. Dad gets on and logs into HIS WoW account (he plays in the dream). His character is lv55. “Wow, you’re 55, huh?” (graphics look amazing). Then I want to show him my character when he’s done. Use his computer, but ends up taking too long and he doesn’t care anymore. I start to play a racing game. Cars are based off of Toy Story characters. A setting was set to “real” so if you crash, you blow up. I make a racer blow up in a pile of rocks

      1030. Theresa and I are in a hotel in Amsterdam. Take out the keycard and our room is 17. We walk by a door with 2 girls. Look on the wall and there’s a 17. They had just opened the door for someone and I peek inside. One of the girls at the door gives me an odd look like I shouldn’t be looking. “Oh, this is my room… 17.” We walk in and it’s huge and open(50-75’ ceiling at least). Girl shows us around the place. Starts with the front and there’s a heart shaped bed. Then an open space and the lady starts to dance. I think to myself “I hope I don’t have to dance with her.” Then the room is a bar and lots of people. We find Michelle Xxxxxx and hang out with her. See a Kelly Xxxxx guy around. We go to some table with a few guys and talk. Guys start to act like dbags, so we kindly leave and get our own table. Theresa is now StacEy, but named Brianne. Another girl is Brianne Xxxxxx. StacEy is now Theresa again. I’m sweating a lot for some reason and trying to use my shirt to wipe off the sweat. Shirt is long sleeved and light blue. We then start to leave. Kelly guy seems mad at us. We decided to head up some stairs and go to our room. I’m back on the 1st floor and some guy bumps me. Then Kelly again. I head to the room since a big fight seems to be brewing
    14. Two separate lucids this morning!

      Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

      I'm descending slowly through the levels of a house. When I realize what's happening to me and that this is a dream, I decide to stop in the third level down and explore it. I will myself to stop moving downward and to be standing on the floor, and achieve both of those desires. I begin walking through the rooms, concentrating both on the action of walking and on the scenery around me, knowing that my concentrated attention will keep the dream stable. There are some steps down into a large living room. I think, This reminds me of some of my friends' houses. Well, of course it does. That's where my mind must have picked up the images that this dream is made up of.

      I turn around to take in more of the room. While I'm doing so, I think, I need a mirror. When I look back at a particular section of wall a second time, a large, tall, rectangular, frameless, wall-mounted mirror has appeared there.
      [Cool! I guess I'm getting better at controlling the features of the dream environment.] I come up to the mirror and stick my hand into it. My hand goes right into the mirror and is obscured by silver mist, but I feel nothing at all. I still don't particularly want to try to go anywhere else that way, though, so I don't. However, on the floor to my left, I see a large, freestanding flatscreen TV [the same size and model we have in my real house], and decide to try to go through that. As I crouch down in front of it, I think briefly of a couple of specific places from my past that I would like to find on the other side of the screen. I then start going through it. I feel the screen snap when I start pushing through it, and feel the edges of its two halves dragging against my body as I climb into the TV. There's nothing inside but darkness. I ended up just waking up. [I failed to choose a single destination and truly believe that it would be there on the other side of the screen.]

      I went back to sleep and had another dream. I'm in a room with a bunch of computers, and someone is directing me to complete a series of questionnaires on one computer, which is on the aisle that goes down the center of the room, between the rows of tables. One of the questionnaires involves looking at frames from an animated TV show and identifying what show they're from. I recognize them as being from the Garfield and Friends TV show.

      From there, the dream shifts, putting me in that episode of that TV show. I'm standing right behind the protagonist, watching him/her
      [not sure] have a conversation with another character just outside the gate to a town. The setting appears to be a medieval fantasy story. I recognize that I'm dreaming. The conversation is finished, and the second character admits the protagonist and me through the gate. As I pass the gatekeeper character, I say to him, “It's good to see you again.” I start walking along through the open space in the center of the town, again concentrating on walking and on the scenery around me. As I walk, I cover my mouth with both hands and whisper into them, “I was actually talking to the town.” I can actually feel the warmth and moisture of my breath on my hands, which impress me with their realism.

      I pass by a shop building with off-white walls and a window, and go, “Oh, yeah.” I remember that I still want to try to walk through a wall. I turn to my right, walk right up to that wall and keep on walking. I can only get a little way into it. It feels like walking into a flexible, but thick, strong, and semi-solid piece of rubber.

    15. Dissolving Dormitory and Glimpse of a Rainforest

      I was reading something on my computer screen when I realized quite abruptly that I was dreaming. I moved my hands via thought alone. A moment later, everything became fuzzy. I reminded myself that it would come back if I focused and relaxed my thoughts. I got hazy visuals of the computer screen fading back in (I was no longer on the same website), then my dorm room. I was sitting at my computer desk again.

      “Increase lucidity!” I shouted inside my head. Surprisingly, this didn’t work. My dream control’s usually pretty good… I tried morphing my bedroom into a lush rainforest full of sights and sounds to engage my senses. It worked! I got about halfway through the transformation before I lost the dream.
