    1. My first nightmare I can remember (repetitive).

      by , 04-10-2011 at 08:21 PM
(I promise you not all of my entries will be about nightmares, haha, just gotta get this one out of the way first.)

I was 8 and living in Wyoming at the time when I first had this nightmare, and it's the first nightmare I can remember (and like I said in my other posts I mostly have anxiety dreams, only have had 2 nightmares I can remember). I've had this come up when I was 8 twice (about 6 months after it first happened, right before I turned 9), again when I was 12 right after we moved to Nevada, and when I was 15 I had a dream that spotlighted a scene from this particular nightmare.

It's mostly in first person, which I rarely dream in. I'm my 8-year-old self, walking around my house in Wyoming like it's a regular old boring day. It's really sunny outside, so all the nights are turned off and all the fans are turned on. My sister's nowhere to be found, I assume she's at a friend's house or something. My parents are out in the backyard, so I find myself wandering the rooms looking around aimlessly. I go back in my room and find my doll, who turns out to be Cynthia, the same doll Angelica has in the Rugrats cartoon. I held her up, exaimined her, and then looked at my bed. Normally I had a few of my stuffed animals surrounding the pillows, but all of my stuffed animals had turned into dolls or stuffed humans. The moment I see these on my bed, the sky outside turns orange and thick, like there's a fire nearby. I glance at the window then glance at the door and run for the backyard. The sky is so thick it's almost red as I run out through the garage and patio onto the grass. There I'm horrified to see both of my parents are engulfed in flames. But what makes this less horrifying is that they are giant stuffed bears, almost like they're wearing mascot costumes. I know they are my parents, but I'm suddenly understanding that all humans are now stuffed bears and all stuffed animals are dolls or stuffed humans. My parents are running around in circles, screaming and on fire, making little footprint-shapes of fire on the grass which is starting more of the fire. I'm hearing dramatic music in the background that's telling me it's gonna get worse. I can't get my legs to move so I can get to them to help them. I'm screaming for them and going "No!" and all that dramaticness an 8-year-old can possess as she's seeing her parents go up in flames. As I'm screaming, I wake up, realizing my face is wet from crying and I'm mouthing the words "No, no no no..."

The waking up bit has happened each time I've had it until the dream I had at 15. The only thing I remember from it was that my parents were in it asking me "remember what happened 7 years ago?" and I have a little thought bubble pop over my head with the scene of my parents as giant stuffed bears screaming and running around on fire.

    2. (Hyper Real) Lucid: Lava, Tsunami, Smoke

      by , 04-09-2011 at 09:54 PM
The only other dream I've had in the past year with visuals this realistic and intense was Nightmare: Alternative Life. I can't stress this point enough, the visual quality of this dream was so acute and vibrant it makes my regular dreams seem low resolution. It was extremely stable and consistent, and I'm at a loss to understand why these dreams are so much superior to ordinary dreaming.

I was driving down a main road in the California Bay area called El Camino. It was late afternoon and there was traffic. The flow was moving slowly. The location I was in looked like mesh of two cities I regularly drive through. I looked over one of the rolling hills there which is covered with houses. Suddenly the ground started to violently shake and I heard a huge ripping rumbling noise that muted out all other sounds.

A volcanic stream of gas and lava shot out from behind the hill far into the air like an oil well or water fountain. It was glowing red and orange and raining lava all over the area. I could hear screams and utter panic. Car began to drive off the road and out of lanes. I made a U-turn onto the sidewalk and my tire hit the curb hard and instantly I got a flat. I noticed a Police SUV was also attempting to use the side walk to get closer to the blast...

Just then, another volcanic steam erupted further to the south behind the hill in the direction I was now facing. It became obvious the roads were too chaotic to to drive away on. I jumped out of my car and looked at my tire. It was destroyed. I looked around at the panic and chaos for a moment. I thought "There is no way I can rescue my GF or Mother." I heard a man screaming. I looked up at the hill and there in the distance a person was getting doused with lava.

While he was burning to cinders a Tsunami wave rose up above the height of the hill (which was at least 100ft) I could see through the aqua-green water against the bright sky. It came crashing down through the lava streams and put out the crisping man while still in the process of turning to cinders. I turned and started running full speed in the opposite direction of lave fissures and Tsunami. I started desperately looking for something nearby to climb on top of.

I saw a cement 2-story building just off of El Camino with a large climbable tree next to it. My plan was to use the tree to get on top of the building as quickly as possible. The tree and building were in a depression in the ground. I jumped from the sidewalk area directly into the tree. I turned back and the water was about 20-ft away and quickly came crashing into the building and tree. Instantly the corner of the building exploded into rumble. The roof started to collapse and the tree I was on lost several branches when the water struck.

I jumped out of the tree still heading further east, out of the ditch like area and onto another segment of sidewalk, part of another street running east. Water and junk was pushing me forward. I fell on my face, got up, and started running across the street to another large mostly dirt hill. The shape of the terrain was causing the Tsunami to fan outward before completely flooding the street I was on, but there was still a shallow sheet of water and debris ramming against my back.

I made it to the hill when I started to notice the intense heat coming from behind. The lava gas stream was now emitting hot black smoke and the earth was shaking. I was running up the dirt hill, and falling on my face every few feet. When I was nearly at the top, there was huge clouds of pitch black smoke drifting eastward and engulfing me and other people. My body felt exhausted. I fell again and could feel wind buffeting me from random directions.

I had the clear thought: "Maybe God expects me to die this way."

With my last once of energy I dragged myself to the top of the dirt hill. There were other terrified people staggering to the top of the hill. I looked out to the East towards the bay. The ocean was drawn back and there were rivers of lava merging with ocean water creating columns of steam.

There were no other places to run.

I thought, "I need to call my friends and family but I knew my phone had been soaked." I pulled it out of my pocket and sure enough it was completely dead. I looked at the front of it, and then the back of it, then the front of it again. My phone didn't look right. It was smaller and fatter than real life. On the front of the phone in big white letters was written: "3-Mega Pixels."

I thought: "This is a dream! Because my phone doesn't look like this!" I was relieved, but I really wanted to see what this dream was leading up to so I put my phone back away and "pretended" I wasn't lucid. The lava, flood, and darkness subsided. Not everything was destroyed. There was an apartment building near the hill that's upper floors had survived almost unscathed. A group of people made there way over there as there was no real way to reach any other place. (Things get hazy at this point.)

The survivors began to live in this apartment. Time elapsed in the dream. Days at least. I remember us living like rats. We were cut off, and no one came to help us giving us the impression that this disaster was on a global scale. People were so morbidly depressed I remember one bulky man ripping his shirt of and crying like a baby. I felt so awful for him that I assured him this was nothing more than a dream...

After that, I walked out onto the balcony (a common dream location from my past) and looked out over the bay. Which had swelled larger from the Tsunami. I looked up at the stars and they were crystal clear. I could see the little dipper in the sky. I said out loud "Since I'm only dreaming, how about some meteor strikes now too?" --Nothing happened at first.

But as I starred at the little dipper, a superimposed image appeared over it. A slow fade in of a traditional Santa Clause with a bag of presents and sleigh appeared. I was surprised and disappointed.

Clearly this dream was influenced by the recent tragedy in Japan which I watched live as I was awake late that night.

Supplement: Liquid Gel Multi-vitamin and 500mg B5 directly before bed.

    3. My first nightmare in 13 years.

      by , 04-08-2011 at 07:33 AM
So hi, this is my first Dream Journal entry. I have a few friends on here who got me into this whole dream journal thing, so I've been writing a few details I can remember of my dreams in a notebook next to my bed. And what a better way to start out the first DJ with a nightmare?

I literally don't have nightmares, I can only remember one nightmare and it's a repetitive one I've had a few times between the ages of 8 and 16 (I shall DJ that one later). I get more "anxiety" dreams than nightmares where I'm just unsettled and panicked but not literally frightened BUT this one's really intense. Let it be known that it took place in my old room back at my parents house who I only visit a few times a year.

(Disclaimer: I've told this to a friend, and she suggests it's deep enough that it could be a story or a book or something, so if I end up doing that, TOO BAD it is my story and if you claim it as yours I will be really... sad. I won't be 100% specific for this reason. That is all.)

      OK the nightmare. Sorry.

I had this dream the night of March 28th, 2011. Basically, I'm viewing myself in a third-person kid of way where I'm birds-eye-viewing the whole nightmare so I can't do anything about what's going on, but I am able to see my character (I'll explain later).

There's a "devil" - more like a white guy w/ black hair and a red suit and black collar - who is a completely real person with evil intentions. He sends out a massive call to the world that he's got a bounty list of people who are doing good things against the devil in some way. The public's reaction is "well this is scary but we can't do anything about it so just go with it I'm sorry." The list is sent out through the media but me as the dream-viewer can only make out a few names that I can't read. But then the last two people on the list are both my character and my partner's names. Then in comes my cheesy dramatic transitions I get in my dreams, where its like my birds-eye-viewed self is filming it, so my birds-eye camera zooms in to the character's dramatic facial expression, there's dramatic music, all that.

Then I - and my character - has a vision of sorts, seeing what the devil does to the "devil offenders." They're in a blood-red room that has no walls or ceiling (so big it's endless), and there's several people sitting in the center of the room in those old-school hair dryers that go over your head like a space man helmet. But instead of a space man helmet it's a stove bruner, the coils hovering over the person's head like an angel's halo. The devil says the word and the unforeseen henchmen pulls some level somewhere that lowers the burners down against the people's heads that burns their head and brains and BLEH, along w/ some electricity that eletricutes them dead. I see my partner in the corner handcuffed to a metal bar on the side, looking distressed.

Insert dramatic music transition here. From here on assume when I mean "I", I mean my character of myself I'm seeing.

I am kind of like Temperance from the "Bones" TV show, where I'm an investigator of some sort with a slightly goofy/gorgeous partner and we bring justice to bad people. I'm in the same haircut as her, the same kind of outfits and all that but I can't recall if I'm actually HER or not. My partner - whose name is unrecognizable to me, I literally hear gibberish when I'm saying/hearing/reading his name - is a more tan-colored-trench-coated-blond version of Booth from Bones, but he's definitely not supposed to be him.

ANYWHO, I've seen the coverage on the news on a TV, then had my vision and realized I'm on the list. Here's where I'm all omgomgomgomg in my head. What the media also says is that there's a helpline for the people who are on the devil's list. There's some announcer going "Are you on the list? Call ###-####" or whatever in a cheery "nothing's wrong everything's ok" kind of voice. I reach for a phone and dial anxiously. I get the same girl's voice as the operator. I then tell her I'm on the list and I'm trying to explain to her that I'm an investigator and that's probably why I'm on the list but I don't know what to do I don't want to die. As I'm explaining, I see on the TV set in front of me that there's one person who survived the list - an actress who played a private investigator role on a TV show - and her interview was coming up next. I focus back on the call, and the girl operator takes everything I say into consideration and says she can help me. In mid sentence of her transferring to somebody who can help, the line goes dead. again. I instantly think I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna die. Dramatic music like it's gonna go to another transition, and I FREAKIN' WAKE UP.

It's about 6am. I feel suddenly anxious, lots of adrenaline, and then I see the shadow on the ceiling. Part of it looks like a horn and a shoulder. I'm all and move the items on my desk haphazardly so the shadow goes away. Then I feel like and can't believe I just had a nightmare. I'm unable, thank goodness, to get back into the nightmare.

    4. Nightmare: Terror Garden

      by , 04-07-2011 at 08:14 AM
This dream occurred about 90-minutes after going to bed in the first REM stage. I took a liquid gel multivitamin and 500mg of B5 before bed.

My GF and I were playing a cooperative video game. I remember fighting a giant turtle like monster and she was getting overwhelmed and overly excited playing it. The visuals were very 3D, even holographic, and her character was able to paint cross-hairs on the beast. (There was no fear attached to this part of the dream.)

We decided to go out. It was nighttime outside and all the street lamps were off. My GF was suddenly afraid. The darkness was making me apprehensive too which is not normal. I went to close my car door and it wouldn't shut. I moved the seat belt a little thinking it was caught. Then slammed the door even harder, but it bounced even more.

I looked down at the frame and discovered my wallet and cell phone were lodged there. I figured my phone was broke, but for some reason I didn't want to stay in my drive for another moment. I slammed my car into reverse, in a maneuver to shut the door finally using a hard left spin.

We jammed down my darkened block and near the end on the right hand side standing in front of a car was a cowering German Shepard dog. It was crouched, and it was trembling with fear wetting the street in front of the curb with urine. This was a big healthy looking animal, scared out of its wits.

We drove further and came to near to the spot of my last posted dream Neighborhood: Magic Garden. Standing in the middle of the road was deranged looking huge Rottweiler dog. It was starring me down hard. I rolled down the window this time to attempt to lighten the atmosphere with puppy talk. It just rolled its head, looking at me dead in the eyes with barely contained hostility.

We drove past and reached the exact spot of my last posted dream Neighborhood: Magic Garden There, kitty-corner to where the magic garden had been was a decimated house with the entire front end smashed wide open. I could see a couple inside. Dead. Nude. Frozen in positions of absolute horror on their sofa.

Turning down that street and driving further, the entire block was covered with thick green moss, huge fallen trees, and ripped apart houses. I could hear a massive number of frogs in the distance.

--At this point I whimpered out loud and it woke me up. My heart was racing, I was terrified, and I could still hear the din of hoards of frogs in the distance... The sound faded and it merged with my air filter which was set on low.

I don't have time to post my next dream from last night, it was much more terrifying and extremely realistic.

    5. First decent lucid

      by , 04-05-2011 at 04:36 PM
      April 4/5

First decent lucid with questions. Dreaming Lucid

It starts out with me and a bunch of other kids in my HS in a dark house and were trapped. Everyone is scared. Then I'm with some of the girls of my grade. I have an urge to urinate. So I say "yeah guys I gotta go pee." I use it no problem. I leave the bathroom and one of the girls are missing. Then one girl says "So you were subject a and she was b but you went missing so she got killed!!" Then I again didn't care and noticed there were traps on every bed.
No one was laying down on them so I dont know why I was trying to deactivate them. There was some kind of rube Goldberg contraption and every thing that was setup that i tried to stop ended up activating until I saw a multi outlet on the ground and I unplugged everything but everything worked still. And I got pissed. So then all the traps activate and I again try not to care. But when I get up no one is there but me.
They ditched me! "Those Bitches!!!!" Then I hear foot steps coming up the stairs and I want to hide in the darkness to attack them. But it turns out I cant because the place was now somewhat more light. Then it turned out to be a kid I know and his twin. And they were laughing.
They pulled on me and I resisted but they laughed more like he does IRL.Which was really annoying. I noticed no malice in him so I just followed them. Then they lead me outside to a park of some sort with many people playing frisbee and other activities.

Then I run up a hill then suddenly become lucid.YAY. I immediately do a RC. I stabilize the dream by rubbing my hands together. And it make a sound like "beep beep". But I don't care and keep rubbing, I want this dream to last. I start to walk around this place and I meet some siblings. This is the first time family came into my dream like this. Then my older bro explains what happened in the house I was in and what's goin on outside. There's suppose to be an alien invasion and I was like 'cool beans'. He then talks about the Quran. And how I'm like fuck that shit. Then I argue when the he'll did I say that??
Then a small flash back comes to me. We were at the old house we used to live in and him, dad, and I were at the living room and my dad gave me some odd heart filled with black coffee. He wanted me to put it in my mango tropical drink. I thought it was horrible and at some point me and him almost fought.
Anyways. So then my little bro starts holding on to me because he is scared of the invasion. Then I told him get off of me angrily. Then my older bro says see I hate you kind of people that act that way. I knew I was dreaming so I didn't care about the invasion or how I treated my siblings. I also didn't even want to waste any time explaining that I'm dreaming. I run to a pathway that led to a forest. When I saw a bear I immediately turned around and didn't want to risk ending the dream with a fight, but that's exactly what happened.
When I turned around I somehow ended up I a basement type thing with some pyro technician. He looks a little hostile so I'd decide to fight him to reach the exit. He swings his flamethrower, I dodge and grab it, easily pointing the tip to his face. As I'm about to squeeze the trigger he puts his mouth on it and somehow stops the flame then smiles. I get angry and shove it down his throat then pulling it out forcefully stunning him in the process. Then I go for the shot again and burn his face to smithereens. Then when the flames clear he looks unharmed and he smiles again. I notice he's tough but I wanted to escape so I don't risk ending the dream. I turn and run though what seems like a labyrinth and see the exit. When I push the small exit open the guy is behind me but now looks like a little different and again is smiling the same way. And I nod my head like "we're done" and he gets the gesture. And stops and walks away.
I get through and see my sis and at the the field. I got into a house and the dream starts to destabilize and I feel my eyes opening but I don't resist and just rub my hands. And luckily the dream stabilizes. I talk with some friendly DCs about lucid dreaming. Apparently they saved me from destabilization. It was a young woman, a middle aged woman with a chipped tooth. and some young guy around 21. They were helping me with my lucidness. Giving me some food. I thought that this whole time the dream didn't feel very real like, like the stories everyone makes on dream views so I want to stabilze more by spinning. But the house was crowded and I wanted to go outside. I ask the DCs will they disappear if I don't have my attention to them? Then they take their sweet ass time talking about it. In the end they ignore it completly and give me some kind of sandwich. I put it in my mouth and didn't really taste anything and then woke up instantly
. That dream must have lasted max 30 mintues.

    6. Helping someone to face her nightmares

      by
      Hyu
      , 04-05-2011 at 12:21 AM (Hyu's Adventures)
non dream - lucid - non lucid

My dreams start getting more vivid again, even though I'm still quite stressed and I don't have enough time to sleep properly.
I didn't believe that my dream recall would improve before I have more free time, but I am very happy that it seems to do so.

I am walking through the city. I become lucid for no apparent reason, I just know that I am dreaming.
For some reason I feel the urge to use some form of dream control.
I look up into the sky, there isn't a single cloud. It is a very nice day.

I point my right hand at the sky and command it to rain with my mind.
It starts raining, even though there are no clouds.
The DC's around me realize what I have done and become pissed.
I don't really care about them and just start dancing in the rain whilst creating background music for the dream.

I am quite impressed how easily I can control the dream, it is so stable.
Some DC's approach me with an angry look on their faces.
      What do they want?

      "Go away."

All DC's around me cease to exist. This is an intriguingly good feeling.
I should probably do something more productive though, even though this is a lot of fun.

      "Excuse me."

      What the hell?
I turn around. There is a women standing in the rain. Didn't I just remove all DC's?

"Hello friend, what brings you into my dreams?"

(I have no idea why I feel the urge to talk like this, but it is not the first time this has happened.)

"I'm sorry, I do not mean to intrude."
      "It's quite alright."
      "I need your help."

I look at her closely. I'd guess that she's in her late 20's, maybe early 30's.
She has natural curly red hair and very dark eyes.
      I approach her with confidence.

"What is it you need help with?"
"There is darkness within me, darkness which I cannot face alone."
"I need help Hyu, I need help facing this darkness."

      "Do we know each other?"
"You do not know me, but I have read many things about you."

I feel the sudden urge for an adventure.

      "Lead the way, friend."

She opens a portal, using the hand flicking trick I have used before.
I find it somewhat impressive, then again, why would she not know?
I form an energy shield around myself and follow her through the portal.
Somehow I just understood that using a shield can prevent some of the portal trouble I have encountered before.

We are in a very big room. It looks absolutely amazing.
The architecture is absolutely blowing my mind, everything is so detailed.
It is a blend of old japenese, victorian but also futuristic design.
The neon-stripe lighting and the heavy usage of glass gives it a bit of a Tron-look but for some reason it blends very well with the older elements.
The windows are very colorful, like in Christian churches, except the drawings are clearly not religious.

I realize I'm getting distracted. I follow this women over a marble path.
There are doors to the left and right of the path, but they don't lead anywhere.
There are no walls or anything, just doors.
I get the impression that I am in the dreams of this women and that she created all of this.

      "This is highly impressive!"
      "Do you like it?"
"Absolutely. Have you created all of this?"
"I have indeed. I'm an architect, I have let my inspiration run wild for a few weeks, and this is what I ended up creating."
"Wow, this is really impressive, so you can create persistent scenes?"
"Yes. If I want to keep a scene I save it behind one of these doors."
      "Wow... I'm speechless."

She seems to be very experienced with dreaming.
      She laughs.

"Says the guy who can step through the fabric of space."
"I'm an architect, this is what I do, it's not really that hard for me."

      "I see..."

The marble path ends before another door, but this one is very different.
All other doors were white stone with beautiful carvings, this one is pitch black.
There are many Japanese seals attached to the door.
I've seen them in manga before.
Some of them look very recent, others slightly older. All the older ones are destroyed.

"This is where I have sealed my nightmares... the darkness."

She sealed them away? I didn't know anything like that was possible.

"I can no longer contain them, I need to face them and destroy them."
"I have no doubt that I will manage to destroy them, but I am too afraid to face them alone."

I was wondering how I could possibly be of help to someone who can do all of this.
But I suppose this makes sense.
I power up and draw a protective energy bubble around us using my phoenix wings.

      "Let's do it."

With a wave of her hand all the seals disappear and the door opens.
There is nothing visible inside, it's just darkness.
But even though I cannot see it, I can feel it, VERY clearly.
Fear emits from this room, just pure fear.
      The women starts shaking.
      I grab her hand.

      "You can do this."
      "Yes... SHOW YOURSELF!"

      The yelling was unexpected.
A ball of pure darkness comes out of the room and hovers in front of us.
She grabs my hand strongly and I reinforce the protective bubble even further.

"BEGONE DARKNESS. I HEREBY CAST YOU AWAY FOR ALL ETERNITY!"

Her voice is very powerful, I can feel it resonating in my body.
She then speaks some sort of incantation in Japanese which I cannot understand.
The darkness catches on purple fire and disintegrates before my eyes.
As the last bit of it disappears, the Door that was housing it turns into ashes.
      How impressive!

The women drops to her knees.

      "Are you alright?"
"Yes, now that the darkness is gone, I truly am."
"Thank you for you support young dreamer."
      "You're welcome."

She summons a small engraved stick of wood and hands it over to me.
It is immensely detailed and very beautiful.

      "A gift for your troubles."
      "Thank you!"
"I am very sorry, but you must leave now."
      "Oh?"
"I don't usually let others into my dreams, please understand."
      "Of course."

To be honest, I don't, but it would be disrespectful to say otherwise.
If these are truly her dreams than she deserves privacy whenever she so desires.
I draw my phoenix wings and prepare to teleport to Teraluna.
I feel that I am no longer welcome in this world, I will not be able to visit it again once I teleport away.

      "Goodbye friend."

I step through the fabric of space and the dream ends.
    7. Weird friendly (?) nightmare

Ah.... It's nice to have a vivid dream again after long period of the block. Where do I start....
I went to bed a little late last night, around 12:30. Assuring myself that I will have a dream, I went to bed and fell asleep. In the dream, I was in a car. Specifically my dad's car (which is not around anymore; should've notice that). He was dropping me off at my friend's house for a concert. So I went in, but my friend wasn't there, in fact, it seemed like a warp to another room like a dentist office. So I talked to the receptionist (oddly enough, I was talking to the chair ==") and took out my laptop while I wait (for nothing). My friend came out and led me in. Inside, there was my SAT teacher. He said this is not a dentist's office, but a secret society research centre. He gave me a tour around the building and at the end, he led me to a small room. Everything like the void room from "Matrix" was white in there except a green dentist's chair. He told me to sit down. As I sat, the research people showed up and pulled out a big green cylinder and inserted the content into a clear bag with a strange, clear liquid in it. My SAT teacher then pulled out a stubby, small (around half an inch long and one sixth inch thick) injecting needle and said: "Do you want to join the society?" I foolishly said yes. Then he said: "It is required to make you weak while we inject you with the serum." Then he took the stubby needle and pressed it on my wrist. The blood continuously squirted out of my wrist. He looked at the monitor and said: "60%" then pushed even harder. And again about the two inches up my right arm. I did not feel a thing nor feared a thing (weird). I soon saw the words in 8-bit style saying "Press to convince yourself." I didn't know what that meant but I pressed by moving my arms slightly forward. Then I woke up. I could not realize it was a dream until I got out of it. I checked my hands and there were five with fingerprints and all. I shook myself out of my bed looked at my wrist. It was fine.
    8. nightmare from 2010

      by , 03-31-2011 at 08:15 AM
so first with this being my first entry, im just gonna say that all my dreams (at least the ones i remember) are always nightmares or i wake up with a "dark" or uncomfortable feeling.

anyway, to start this nightmare off, EVERYTHING in my dream was the same way it is in real life. nothing was out of place or a different color so thats why this one stands out to me more than most of my dreams.

so i am downstairs in my living room standing with a detective. its night time and all the lights are off but the house has a creepy dim lighting coming from the full moon. i am just following the detective downstairs around my house and we walk to the bottom of my stairs, and from there i dont see him, but the point of view changes to the supposed killer in the house who is standing upstairs looking down on us even though the detective and i are aware. anyway we go into the living room where the detective opens the door that leads into my laundry room and there is blood everywhere, the washer/dryer, door, floor, walls etc. surprisingly i wasnt really concerned because i had the detective with me so we just closed the door and went back into the living room. the living room leads into the kitchen and i go into it and turn my back to the detective for a second, then when i turned back around he was gone. so i walk out and look around the wall that separates the living room from the kitchen and the detective was lying on the ground dead. thats when i start to feel a bit uneasy.
so i walk upstairs and turn to the right where there are 4 rooms: my dads office, my room, my 8yr old sisters room, and the bathroom. anyway my sisters room is pretty much right infront of you when you turn right from the stairs, and she has a window directly across the room from the her door. so im upstairs and i see a dark figure (because the window is lighting the room from behind the figure) and the person is suspended in the air in the doorway. i take a few steps closer and i realize its my little sister who is hanged from the doorway (but i never see details of the face) which is when i panick, turn around, and the killer (who is also a dark faceless figure) is right behind me and i wake up with the understanding that when i turned around i was killed.

    9. 2 Demons

      by , 03-21-2011 at 09:57 PM
So I woke up from my afternoon nap and... this is what I remember from my dream.
I was in a room with some people 2 of them I had my attention on (these 2 were evil) , everyone else I couldn't really see their faces..
I just knew there were lots of people around... One of the characters in my dream his face took shape of a demon ,
His face floated in fire and then got a bunch of holes in it, his eyes were hollow and black... his smile was really sinister..
For some reason I felt attraction to this "creature" and I got close to him trying to touch him...
This other Demon got angry at me , I got really scared by his presence... his energy alone was very powerful.
I looked at him a Demon dressed in black robes... He was very tall, veryyyyyyy huge... kind of like a juggernaut.
He was upset with me for paying attention to his minion who I was trying to show compassion to...
He thought I was trying to change him from evil to good, which made him want to punish me for that.
I remember him shoving me into a pool in the shape of a square that was filled with lard, I was isolated in the corner of this pool...
I started freaking out, but I don't remember ever crying....
All of a sudden I'm back with this minion , talking to him asking him, "Why?" But it's like we were having a conversation
with out moving our mouths... telepathically. I don't remember his response to the question, I think my dream ended or I just don't recall the rest...,
I then...woke up (in real life)
      That's all I remember.

    10. Nightmare: Old Best Friends & A Dark Cloud

      by , 03-17-2011 at 07:20 PM
This was early in the first sleep cycle. The dream didn't start instantly, that I'm aware of, but about 20-30 minutes later.

It was night time. I was living in my backyard neighbors house. In my mind, both of these houses were home. (They are very similar to each other in real life.) Everything was epic looking. Larger than life. The house was roughly double sized and decadent like no expense was spared making it. A bright moonlight night was outside my windows. I got a loving phone call from my girlfriend who needed a ride. I felt fantastic. I was wondering which house to take my GF too.

I went out the front door, but it exited onto my backyard patio. Standing there in near pitch blackness were my two lost best friends, in the old version of backyard (it was redesigned a few years ago). They were laughing and talking together, both harshly and intoxicated.

I don't recall exactly what was said (it may have been abstract) but it was very rude. I remember them physically surrounding me on both sides. Slapping me on the back. I felt offended and overwhelmed. They acted like crude, spiteful, burnout versions of themselves.

Just then, the backdoor opened. Out came an arm with a rather long thin, gray telephone receiver. I heard a voice say from inside the house: "Telephone for you!"

I thought, "Which of my old friends will be rude to me next?" I became very distressed and cornered feeling.
      --Then I woke up.

Waking Hallucination (?): When I opened my eyes. I was laying on my back. Above me, slightly off to the left and down a couple of feet was a large dark spot on my ceiling. I kept blinking hard. I'm sure I was awake. I looked around the room, all else looked normal.

The black spot was about a 2-foot radius. I started to focus on it carefully and could see that the edges of it were swirling. As if it was a flat-ish mist disc, or a rotating projection. It was slowly drifting away from over my bed, to the left corner near the foot.

I was watching it closely. The mist started to thin a little, and as it did: two faintly glowing eyes appeared in the middle, blankly looking back at me. They were about 10-inches apart, beady, and slightly smaller than dimes. After several seconds more, the "thing" gradually faded.

To my awareness, I've never experienced visual hallucinations upon waking up before. I was not paralyzed or having a false awakening. At no point was I afraid. I wasn't sure what I was looking at exactly. I felt more relieved to have left the dream, than afraid of the cloud. I got out of bed. I didn't go back to sleep for hours.

Fell asleep a little after 2AM and woke up at 2:38AM. Generally speaking, this is a weird time for vivid dreaming. I usually don't recall dreams in the first 3-REM stages. When I do, it typically ends a 90-minute cycle. However, I've noted a few nightmares in the first REM cycle after viewing shocking material.

Note: I have an unpublished dream journal of strong, bewildering nightmares that took place heavily in 2007, lingered into 2008. In June 2009, I had one terrible nightmare. Some of the recent trickster elements in my dreams reminded me of those days.

In my dream, I was hiding from something. I don't know what, but I had a lot of animals with me, and as the dream progressed, I realized they were pokemon. I know for certain I at least had a vaporeon with me. I was in a house with brownish walls, and cement floors. I remember feeling like I had left a lot behind, most likely at my house, as the place I was in seemed to be a shelter of some form. At some point, I got in my car and picked some body up. There were more pokemon outside when I returned, and I brought them in. I believe one was eevee, the un-evolved form of vaporeon.

The house I was in had large windows in the roof (really, what a bad shelter), and I remember making a snide remark about some form of apocalpyse that was supposed to happen, which I just didn't believe. Suddenly, the sky went dark, and bright purple lights zoomed across the sky, then there was an explosion. Everything shook, and I held my pokemon to me, looking up at the sky from where I was hunched in a corner. Some of my family was with me. It began to rain, flood really. I was very frigthened, and called my boyfriend who is attending school hours away from me. some one else answered, and I was very aggravated, they wouldn't let me speak with Justin. Finally, I had to hang up and run. I gathered all of my pokemon up and with my family ran to my car. We drove for a while then met up with my sister, who is pregnant in reality, and in the dream.

She mentions that her husband has been separated from her, and is holding my nephew. Electricity is lost, and apparently the continents have shifted, resulting in families being broken up. I remember feeling deep despair. Eventually, I think I lost all of the pokemon except for Vaporeon. It is still raining, and now I see my sister, holding her son, sitting by a very large grave. She says it is that of her child, though I remember thinking that was odd, since she was still pregnant, and was holding her only other child.

Details go blurry for a bit, but then I remember it being much later, and some one is talking to me in a lab of some sort. He is holding something that resembles a large canteen for water, except for it is glass, and there is a skull inside. He tells me that the skull came in through the windows in a mudslide, and it made sense to me that the skull was that of my dead niece/nephew, so I took it to my family, who are at the grave still, which is undisturbed, and no one is dead, and proclaim that I have found part of the body. Generally, everyone accepts this, and goes about what they were doing. I don't remember if my brother-in-law was ever heard from again...It was just a very odd dream. Opinions?
    12. First Try

      by , 03-16-2011 at 02:34 PM
I'm new to the site, so forgive me if this is in the wrong category.

Anyway, my sleep schedule is always a little odd, so I am usually not in bed until some time after 1am. This morning (16Mar11) I was up particularly late, reading a few articles on lucid dreaming, which I have always had a passing interest in. At around 5, I finally settled in to sleep, and wasn't really trying for any lucid dream. I was laying on my back, with my arm wrapped around my dog that shares my bed with me. In the back of my mind I was thinking "I will have a lucid dream tonight" over and over, but I was pretty positive the chances of me having such a dream were low.

Anyway, after a few minutes I apparently fell straight into a dream. I was talking to a man who resembled an ex-boyfriend of mine, a man who causes me great stress and anxiety. In the dream, I remember thinking he looked like my ex, but not being sure, so I spent a while trying to get a good look at his fingers, since my ex was missing a finger, and this is something I do in waking life to almost all men subconsciously now. After a minute I saw that he had all fingers, and was relieved, and able to take in my surroundings. I was in a large room, with cement floors, and some form of clutter on the walls, tho I can't remember what it was. The man was sitting on a four-wheeler, a green "Bear Tracker" to be precise, which is the same kind of four-wheeler I had a few years ago. Some how, we ended up fighting, and as he was begining to yell at me, I was suddenly back in my room.

I felt like I was looking through my eyelids, like my memory of what my room looked like was allowing me to be in my room, while still asleep. I remember feeling like one hand was holding my phone, which it was not, and I was holding my dog, just as when I fell asleep. Lights were flashing, and I felt pressure on my chest, and a tingling sensation in my neck and face, and had no ability to move any part of my body or cry out. I remembered reading about Sleep Paralysis, and that it was important to just calm down. I was fine, until my dog started shaking in my arms, and I was powerless to stop it, lying there feeling useless. I had the thought to press my forefinger and thumb together, and somehow that must have woke me up because a moment later I was in my bed, dog sleeping perfectly fine, scared out of my wits.

That was about an hour and a half ago now, and I'm contemplating trying to sleep again, with the lights on this time. I'm usually pretty brave, but that one scared me a good deal, and the whole ordeal lasted only 20 minutes, from 5:00am-5:20am.

Anyway, that's all I've got for right now.

    13. Blow my mind : These are the secrets

      by , 03-08-2011 at 08:39 PM
This dream I had some time ago But, It was so impacting that I remember the whole dream completely.

I was in my bedroom standing in the door way looking straight ahead to where the bathroom is. It was dim in the room and the light from the TV gave the room a surreal almost eerie look. I looked to my right to see My laptop closed next to the TV. The TV was on blue screen and I saw a weak light reflection in the center of the glass. It was weird because my 90's TV doesn't even have blue screen. I looked into the corner nearest to the bathroom and I am startled at what I see. My friend D had a folded white bandanna on, mime make up, and a weird stare on his face. My heart started beating as the room started to grow longer. He just stared there with his creepy look. All of a sudden, I turned to look at the blue screen TV set and it starts the rotate in my view. At the same time I started to hear a Scream and It kept saying " THESE ARE THE SECRETS THEY KILL THEY KILL!" and sooner or later I realized it was one of my screamo songs and I looked at the left wall closest to the doorway and started trying to scream the song myself but I couldn't scream. I heard a glass shatter as I tried to run and jump off of the wall and I woke up. (The only way I can explain it) It was like BOOM. My heart was beating like crazy and I could hear the screaming still echoing. It was one of those dreams that leave you with a pain in your chest.
    14. Nightmare: Extremely Realistic Alternate Life

      by , 03-04-2011 at 11:45 PM
The following dream I had on 5-hours sleep. This would have been my 3rd REM cycle which means this dream may have been over 45-minutes long. It was extremely, extremely, realistic. To the point that when I woke up I felt I had not been home in days or weeks. The visual quality, in complete honesty, was more vivid than real life. I say this because in real life our eyelashes block our view and veins in our eyes can make some lighting conditions slightly blurry. I have 10/20 vision so this was not a product of wearing or needing glasses or contacts.

I woke up. My long time friend Lynn was massaging my right hand as I did. She didn't look completely sober and she seemed very bleary and passionate about giving me this hand massage. I felt uneasy, because I have a jealous girlfriend and I was wondering how I let myself alone with Lynn in a room.

Sitting in the room on a chair a few feet from my bed was an earthy/hippy looking guy in his mid 20's with rusty blond hair and beard. Lynn was saying something to me about working my energies or something. She eventually got off my bed and headed out the door. The guy sitting there laughingly told me about how Lynn had pulled a similar stunt and acted really weird to someone else recently in attempt to practice her Chinese medicine.

I did not recognize the room I was in. It was beige, metallic, somewhat cramped and had no windows. I felt confused as to where I was or how I got there. The guy started making small talk (which I don't recall and) I wasn't paying much attention, as I had a sinking feeling I was some how terribly lost.

The guy suggested I go into the living room with him, so I got out of bed and followed him. The living room looked shabby and unimpressive. We sat down on a brownish colored sofa and continued to talk as I desperately tried to orient myself. Soon afterward, one by one, all my "roommates" came home. There must have been at least ten other people I appeared to be living with. I didn't know who any of them were, but they all seemed very familiar with me.

They all sat around talking to each other about various things. (This part of the dream could have easily lasted 10-minutes by itself.) I sort of made excuses for myself for not knowing what the hell was going on. I just woke up. I didn't feel too hot. But eventually admitted, "I have no idea who any of you are!" They laughed it off, and implied I had done too many drugs or something the night before. I started to become terrified of the possibility I had a massive case of amnesia. I hid it, but inside the fear was swelling up strongly.

Then, Sabrina, a girl I haven't seen in many, many years walked in with a big smile. She looked thinner and healthy and I stood up to greet her. I somewhat shouted for joy. "Sabrina! Now you I know!" Everyone laughed. At this point I said "Now I don't know if I'm dreaming or not." I was so relieved to see another person I knew, the fear level dropped and I could pretend to fit in a little. (This part of the dream could have lasted another 10-minutes.)

Eventually my girlfriend walked in and it looked like she had just got off work. She looked sweet and very calm like she had a good day. When I saw her I felt desperate to take her aside and confide in her how lost and uncertain I felt. She told me "Lets go up to our apartment." I felt relieved, because I thought we all lived in that small unit together and I couldn't understand why I would ever choose to live that way.

We walked into the halls which were also metallic and had dark worn-out atmosphere difficult to put into words. The place looked futuristic but extremely old like something from the movie Bladerunner. I followed my girlfriend up flights of stairs like a lost puppy. She remained calm and not alarmed. On the way up the stairs I asked her "Can we go back to my home? I just want to know that it's still real." She laughed it off and we walked to our apartment door.

At this point I turned around and saw a crazed looking man was following closely behind me. I opened our door, which sealed like the door of a submarine and had a bright red glowing light above the thick black metallic peep hole. I seemed to know how to open it perfectly well and I shoved her in the door, followed, then double locked ourselves in. Checking the locks from inside, they seemed loose.

Our door entered close to the kitchen. The place looked even darker, more cramped, and less inviting than the first apartment. I was starting to become very, very, uncomfortable again. Our apartment was divided into three floors. The basement level I never went to, but it was nearly pitch black save for a few red LED's on the walls. I followed her upstairs to our bedroom area. There laying on a chair was a very pale girl with shorts on sitting on a chair half dazed.

I was alarmed, but my GF explained that was only our roommate. I told her I couldn't take this place any more and asked if we could go for a walk outside. She agreed, and we left through a side door and went outside where there was only an empty parking lot, and gray looking forest. We walked into the forest and I started to feel dizzy. (The dream started to destabilize.) Horror struck again...

I put my arm around her for balance and asked "Am I mentally retarded now? Did I have some sort of accident?" She only just slightly smiled and looked at me. --Then I woke up.

I want to emphasize, when I woke up I felt I hadn't seen my bedroom in at least 2-3 days. I felt like a stranger to my own life, and I noticed that my real room was not as visually intense as my dream room.

This dream falls into a common category of my dreams: Bizarre Apartment
    15. Giant green pool Nightmare

      by , 02-23-2011 at 07:13 PM
Ugh, I had a nightmare again =( I was with some friends at a giant green pool. The water was green and muddy (green mud). At the bottom of the water I could see a few green monster fishes. If I fell into the water the fishes would kill and eat me. I was very afraid to slip the whole dream. Me and my friends were playing(?), hanging in ropes above the water. In the end, I failed holding myself up, so I fell into the water and swam for my life so the monster fishes wouldn't take me. I escaped, but the boss of the place, some person, tied my up and tried to stuff me into a shredder. My friends just stood there watching. I kicked the shredder away from myself.. and woke up.
