    1. 23rd Mar 2013 A couple of DILDs, Transformation attempts

by , 03-23-2013 at 08:23 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream recall from today's naps, got a couple of DILDs and a bit of progress with dream control.

      Nap #1:

I was on my PC, playing some kind of mod of video game called Doom. I got bored and decided to replay one of my own old mods for Doom. It was going on normally for a while, but soon it was smoothly transitioning from 'me playing game' to 'me being in game', then i ran into some technical problem with game not loading properly, but i fixed it, as i got to the next level it was suddenly overdetailed compared to everything else, there were yellow and red cave walls and also there was some kind of reactor behind the gate, and objectives stated that i had to destroy it. The detailing work on that map was ridiculous and i was never that good at map making so i realized that i am dreaming, i was walking around a bit and there were monsters from doom, which were frozen in place for some reason, but before i could do anything dream suddenly transitioned into my room.
It was daytime, i recalled my goals and went to the balcony, which was already open. On the balcony i was ready for another attempt on transforming into a dragon, i recalled that behaving like one would help transformation process, so i tried to do a roar, but failed, i started to fly and felt wings again. Dream destabilized in a second and i, what i call it, 'lagged out', basically no matter what i did i was shifted into previous position while moving again, and shifting to previous position again again in infinite loop, like what you would see when other player lags out in some multiplayer games. I tried shouting 'stabilize!' but shortly dream faded out.

      Nap #2:

There was scene where main character of the game Medievil, Sir Daniel Fortesque, was talking to some princess, but she later lured him into some kind of trap. He managed to get out and she attacked him with sword, but he, being undead skeleton, was mostly unfazed by attack. Then dream skipped.
I wake up back in my bed, i recall the dream that i had and then i take off headphones and can still hear binaural beats, which means
i am still dreaming. I get up and go to the balcony, on the way i engage senses and try feeling objects, for some reason it was hard to move fingers and for a second i felt the bed with it(being nowhere near the bed) as if i was still in the bed, i was thinking that it might feeling from my waking body but i quickly discarded that thought to prevent destabilization.
I take off and feel wings again, this time flying is even easier and i can even hear sound of wings! I fly to the left(if facing building) and then just fly around for a short while. I decide to try attempting transformation into a dragon right in the flight, i shout 'Dragon form!' while visualizing and expecting change to happen but nothing happens. I notice that i am flying above some kind of marketplace and there are lots of DCs. For fun i decide i try something different, i fly right at random DC, which apparently is female DC, and suddenly stop right in front of her face, there's expression of shock on her face haha, then i fly away. I decide to go for another attempt at transformation into a dragon, i shout 'Dragon form!' again while visualizing and expecting the change and suddenly i feel the change on my right hand and hear weird periodic sounds that i can describe as 'crackle', i look at my hand and it's clawed and there are black scales roughly halfway to the elbow, in a few seconds it becomes back normal though, but hey, it didn't instantly destabilized dream this time! I fly around for some more time and then dream fades out.

I wake up back at my bed and in a few seconds i wake up properly.
    2. 22nd Mar 2013 Ruined ship, Weird test, More false awakenings

by , 03-22-2013 at 11:39 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Dream recall from non-lucid nap.

I recall being in some sort of open area, then later i was underwater inside some ruined ship with some people, there was air bubble around it. I was relaxing on some piece of furniture while others were searching for something, then we have found some ghosts, but nothing that we were searching for so we went outside. There was some kind of huge bottle, one of people who were with me got inside it and fell asleep.
Later i was back at home, i was thinking that i returned from four dreams and that i saw similar dreams earlier, i was checking through this dream journal and found them, but before i could write new ones i was distracted by food, there were some spiral clams or something, after that i was super sleepy so i fell asleep.
I was somewhere else and i was talking to some person that i nicknamed 'mystery man' for some reason, we were talking about those four dreams that i was thinking about earlier and then he said that i should pass some kind of test.
I was teleported into different room, i was on some table and i could not move. Some kind of dark green partly living partly robotic thing was mounted on my head, it had an eye that was staring at me, also there was other dark green creature walking around that was preparing for something. I was as calm as ever and was trying to do staring contest with that eye thing. Then other creature came closer and looked through the other thing at me, there was loud noise and vision got super distorted.
I woke up back home, i was super dizzy and family was asking me about something. Then i woke up again, again super dizzy and then i
      woke up properly.
    3. A Taste of Death

      by , 03-19-2013 at 08:29 PM (dolphin's dreams)
After a routine awakening I tried to go back to sleep. After a few minutes, without warning, a bat flew across my head and screeched. I noticed that I was now completely paralyzed. As my vision faded to black, I thought that I was dying. Instead, I woke up with my head under my sheets.

    4. The DreamViews Drive

      by , 03-19-2013 at 03:43 PM
This was a fun little WILD and attempt at Advanced Task of the Month. It's been a while since I've had to navigate my house and I'd forgotten how challenging it can be. Darkness seems to lurk around every corner and I'm always trying to just get out. Couldn't do that for this Task of the Month -- had to head further in.

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #78: The DreamViews Drive

I'm getting consistent hypnagogic imagery of the den of our house, so I feel like I'm getting close. I focus on staying aware, and after a few more flashes of the den, a fully three-dimensional picture emerges. I will myself to roll off of the couch, and my dream body complies. I check my hands and feet and everything looks normal. No extra fingers or troll feet. The carpet feels very realistic as well and I mentally confirm that there's no reason I would have fallen asleep downstairs.

I give the coffee table a little shove with my foot and it glides over the carpet. Okay, now I'm really sure it's a dream. I walk through the den past my computer, stepping on a bunch of the kids' toys as I go. Strangely, there's a laundry basket in the middle of the floor. I give the laundry basket a hefty kick and it goes sailing into the air and flies straight out the window. I'm quite amused with myself.

Outside there's just a hint of light, like it's the early morning. I don't think it's possible that the sun's up yet, but it makes me feel more urgent and focused. Since I'm in the house, I want to find the note that I left for myself for Advanced Task of the Month. I have to get back up to our bedroom. I wonder whether I'll find myself there. The thought of my sleeping body makes me feel a little wobbly, so I imagine instead that Wife is lying in the bed by herself. I wonder whether Wife's DC will be interested in "victory celebrations" if I can complete Advanced Task of the Month.
      (Menthol, is that you?)

I walk through the kitchen, dining room, and den, past the pool table to the stairs. For a moment I think about trying a pool shot, but decide that I'd better stay focused. I'm pleased that the baby gate is missing from the bottom of the stairs. Halfway up, though, I see that this dream house has the baby gate installed in the middle of the stairs. "That's not real," I think, and phase through it.

The upstairs looks really, really dark. I notice a light switch on the wall next to me. I try both of the switches several times, but each of them just controls the air conditioner instead of the lights! Every time I flip one of them, the air conditioning rumbles to life and I feel a light stir of wind.

I'm not sure what to do, so I just charge ahead. The darkness starts to get really bad, and I realize that I'm about to lose the dream. I grab onto the banister as darkness sweeps over me. I produce a gladius in my right hand and start swinging it around in the void, still clutching the banister. I stay like this for quite some time, not losing the dream but also not going anywhere. It feels like at least 30 seconds. I fail to formulate a good transition to a new scene (or a way back into the existing scene), and I either fade to black or lose lucidity...

It's a clear morning. Wife and I are in a car, pulling up to a two-story brick house to pick up my best friend F. F greets us at the door and comes out to inspect the car we're driving, an amazing classic car that looks a bit like a '55 Chevy Belair. Wife goes inside the house and I tell F that he and I should go for a ride. I hand him the keys and he drives.

As we start down the street, I tell F, "Man, I just had a lucid dream before we came over here. I've got to enter it into DreamViews." He says cool. There's something like an old-style typewriter embedded in the car's console. I know that if I type the dream into this typewriter it'll automatically get posted to DreamViews. I marvel at how convenient this is. I congratulate myself for renting such a wonderful car.

While I peck randomly at the keys, I ask F whether he's had any lucid dreams lately when he's commuting on the train. He says no, and we talk dreaming for a bit. I say something about dream signs and I mention that one of mine is "really bad driving." He laughs and says, "You mean like this?" He hits a quick 3-point turn and floors the accelerator, sending us streaking back toward the house.

"It's a rental!" I whine. "Be careful, man!" It's a residential street and he's doing 60 mph, easy. We're almost back to the house now and he hasn't slowed down one bit. I'm distracted, too, because I'm still trying to type my DJ entry into the car's typewriter-thing. Now I realize that I don't have a seat belt. I alternate between blubbering "It's a rental!!" and "There's no seat belt!!" As we hit the driveway, I throw in, "I don't want to die!!"

F cuts the wheel hard to the left. There's a squeal of rubber and the car stops a few feet from the house. I'm relieved to be alive. I'm not angry because I assume that he just didn't hear my complaints. "I was trying to tell you, man. I don't think my side has a seat belt!"

He laughts. "Nothing's going to happen to you, man!" I get out of the car and see that it's turned into a convertible.
I get it now. "F! This is a dream, isn't it?" He's walking inside the house and I hurry after him, the dream growing dark. Fade to black...

    5. 19th Mar 2013 Temple fight, False awakening manages to convince me that i was sleepwalking

by , 03-19-2013 at 07:11 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream recall from today's nap, including very confusing false awakening and failed DEILD attempt(but i was close i think).

      Nap #1:
      Dream 1(fragment):

I was visiting some kind of sky lands.
Then i woke up with eyes closed and decided to try to DEILD.
There was hypnagogic imagery(i think) of my room as it was daytime, and some objects were missing, i tried to 'grab' into it but it disappeared, then different version of it appeared instead and disappeared shortly as well.

      Dream 2:
Then i suddenly lost awareness and fallen into non-lucid dream without noticing it, i was in some hill/forest area searching for something and then talking to some bald kid. Then there was cutscene in cave with asian dude in black clothes, he had two curved yellow energy blades and he was preparing for something. I was back at hill/forest area and i heard battle sounds coming from direction, i quickly went there and there was some kind of japanese temple with red roofs. The fight was going on between some dude who was in full metallic suit and group of people who were protecting temple. The metallic suit was black and somewhat resembled some kind of humanoid lizard, also he had two yellow energy wings. He quickly defeated opposing group and then started flying away. The bald kid that was with me quickly reacted and threw dagger into that dude. He managed to hit him exactly into base of the left wing, it transformed into yellow energy blade so it was obviously dude from cutscene earlier, but he was still able to fly after that, and he quickly flied out of my field of view. I ran to pick up the blade.
But then i woke up back at my room, items in the room were misplaced, there was weird anime doll on the ceiling and on monitor of my PC YouTube was playing last part of the let's play that i was watching before, i have absolutely no clue how, but that somehow convinced my dream self that i was sleepwalking(which i don't do IWL for sure) and thus i forgot to do reality check, i got up still looking around, i closed eyes and that automatically moved me into 'classic hands forward' sleepwalking position against my will, then i opened them and everything was fine. And then i was thinking 'Wait a second, why there's this weird doll on the ceiling', and then i
      woke up.
    6. 18.03.13 - What would Jack Sparrow do?

by , 03-18-2013 at 07:48 PM (MysticalDipshit's Archive of Epic Dreams)
      Total sleep: 5 hours
      Daytime Techniques: Some self-awareness
      Techniques to get Lucid: DILD
      Recall Techniques: DJ
      Fell Asleep:
      Don’t know

Dream Title: What would Jack Sparrow do?
      Dream:

Went to sleep wishing someone would just tell me when I was dreaming. Wasn’t expecting this XD

I am running through a white tunnel that has flashing lights on it, somewhat like an electric wire or like I’m in the internet? In front of me is a man, dressed in green but he also looks like a mixture between Robin Hood and a Viking.

      “YOU’RE DREAMING!”

      “I KNOW!”

“I’M GOING TO SAY IT AGAIN BECAUSE PEOPLE NEVER LISTEN!”

      “I KNOW I’M DREAMING………………………………………”

      “YOU’RE DREAMING!”

“Whatever. I’m going to do dream stuff. Bye.”

“Wait! They’re chasing us! We have to go!”

At this point I am still lucid but I lose control as I go along with him as I watch the dream play out. He leads me to a laptop which has a lot of wires going into the wall. I am supposed to be downloading data from Minecraft. Suddenly, he says “data” in an American accent, which I find hilarious and so I start laughing. I am cut off by the ringing of a telephone, and find that I have one in my hand. It’s an old fashioned type phone, and when I pick it up a girl answers.

      “Find the book!”

“Huh?” Looking down I see a slim book in my hands. It had a hard, dark green cover on the front, and the sides of the pages are painted blue. I describe it to her, and she confirms it is the right book.

“They’re back!” Screams the guy and he starts to run again. I get outside and he is nowhere to be seen. Now, I seem to be standing on a deck, looking out onto the ocean. Behind me is the wall of a building and from around the corner come pirates running. I know I have to do something and fast so I think – What would Jack Sparrow do? I turn around and Scooby Doo (The one from the mystery gang, you know) is stood on a pole. He begins to hum the pirates of the Caribbean theme tune (I swear this happens so much) and I quickly run over the tops of barrels in a Jack Sparrow drunken way. I jump into the air and land of Scooby’s back, pushing the pole down. The pirates fall down a hole in the ground and out of the sea a pirate ship launches out, does a flip in the air and then lands and continues to sail along.

Suddenly I am in the water with the whole mystery gang are with me. There is a storm, and we are trying to swim for the pirate ship from earlier, that has now turned into a cruise ship. Because I was the nest swimmer, I was in charge apparently. Also, one of them was talking about becoming a whore when she got on the cruise ship, and another one said “You’ll need a lot of make-up for that”. LOL

I wake up in the study that used to be my brother’s old room, and I wonder why I am laying on the floor. Sitting up, I see that the time is 9.42am. I’m late for school! Quickly, I get my things together that are on the floor. I am searching through my books when I see the green and blue book from before.

“I’m not even awake right now am I?” I groan to myself.

I race outside to Florida and I stop outside a villa that is apparently my Aunt’s. I run inside, intending to find the girl that called me.
There is a party going on, but I ignore everyone and run upstairs. Just as I do that, I wake up.

      Awake: 6.42am
Vividness: (scale of 1-15, 10 is waking life vividness) 9/1
      Awareness: (1-10; or lucid) 10/10
Length: (how long it felt like) 10 minutes
Emotions: I was like WTF! When I found the book on the floor
Dream Signs/TAGS: pirates, green and blue book, theme tune, internet, the mystery gang.

    7. Lucid Dream #32 -Heightened Clarity

by , 03-17-2013 at 01:51 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was walking down a paved path or sidewalk in some kind of rural or suburban area. I can remember the scene very vividly. (I just woke up, and am now writing about this.)
The path ran along a thin strip of grass and vegetation before turning left and heading up a hill that was lacking vegetation. Also the part of the path that was heading up the hill was not paved, it was just gravel.
There were houses all around and there seemed to be no way to get into the yards. All of the yards had high wooden fences.
I should also note the weather. There were a lot of dark clouds, as though there might have been a storm.
So, I was making my way down that path in said setting when
BAM, get lucid out of nowhere. Just when I do, I see someone running down the pathway behind me.
She was a girl, perhaps 14 or 15 years old with a black jacket and these big round glasses. She had black hair and pale, almost albino skin. My first thought was that she was my dream guide, so I asked her.
      "Are you Lia?"
      "No."
After I asked her this, she began preforming this unusual trick where she would spin and sink into the ground, then a few seconds later reemerge somewhere else.
I decided to do an intelligence test on her, (knowing that my dream characters can be hilariously stupid.)
      "What color are you wearing?"
"I am wearing some green and blue, and you are sporting some red." I looked at my own sleeve to see that it was red as she said that. I had noticed her coat had disappeared and she was now wearing a blue and green t-shirt.
The girl continued doing the spin and teleport trick, and one time, I could somehow sense that she would try to emerge behind me and try to scare me.
I gracefully took a few steps forward and turned around, in less than half a second. She tunneled up right behind where I had been standing, and stretched out her arms while saying "boo!"
I wasn't scared or surprised, because somehow I had sensed that before it had happened.
I lost intrest in the dream character and focused on the unusually vivid dream. There was a cold breeze coming from the top of the gravel hill. I just had all of these thoughts, all at once about how unusual this dream seemed. Now I've had a couple times where I've amped up the vividness of dreams to a point like this using unnecessarily amounts of stabilization, but this time, it was natural.
I noticed my legs felt cold. I was probably wearing shorts. It seemed like summertime. I looked once more at the storm cloud. I was just blown away by the detail, the realism, and the perfect shade of blue-gray that the cloud was.
Then, suddenly, the dream started losing clarity really fast. But whatever was making the dream lose clarity had a lot of stability to get through, so in that time, I grabbed some gravel from the path and held it in both hands.
I started to see my room through the parts of the dream that had faded, and I thought I was waking up, when really, I was having an FA. (Ok, and FA into your own bedroom when lucid dreaming, that is just unfair.) I completely False awoke into my bedroom, except I still had the gravel in my hand, and the gravel still felt very vivid and realistic. I think I was still lucid at this point, but had thought I had woken up.
I woke up for real only moments after false awakening into my room. Did a nose-plug RC just to be sure.

    8. 15th/16th Mar 2013 Short lucids

by , 03-16-2013 at 02:11 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream recall from today's naps, plus one from yesterday which i forgot to add into this DJ, 1 DILD from yesterday, 1 from today and 2 WILDs from today, 4 total.

      Yesterday's nap:
Can't recall most of the dream but at one point i was at home near my PC, with headphones on. I started hearing binaurals and was thinking why i listening to them at that point. I took off headphones and still could hear them, thus realizing that i am dreaming. I rubbed hands and looked at the bed, which was a mistake. Shortly dream started destabilizing that there was something scratching my head. Then i was in the bed and shortly scratching resumed, i seen hand, i pulled it and it was apparently dad. Dream faded out.

      Today's nap #1:
I wake up in my room and take off headphones, confirming that i am dreaming, i am about to do stabilization but dream fades out.

      Today's nap #2:
      Dream 1:
I am in the bed and i start hearing loud explosions, that start coming closer and closer, i open eyes, there's flashes outside and also i am lying in different position, i take off headphones and binaurals still playing, confirming that i am dreaming and i stabilize the dream by feeling the bed and rubbing hands. I stand up and start moving to balcony, field of view becomes all weird and changes as i move, becoming smaller and larger and smaller again. As i try to run for balcony door gravity becomes lower and i start moving too slow to open it. I am about to try again but dream starts fading out, i attempt to grab onto it and i am back in the bed, before i can do anything dream fades out again.
I wake up for a bit, memorize recall and go back to napping.
      Dream 2:
Can't recall much of start of the dream, i was in some sort of minecraft looking game and there was some sort of battle, then i went into weird bunker with a few people and it was made out of TNT. Then someone apparently ignited the TNT and there was explosion, not all TNT exploded so obviously most of it was fake. I grabbed one block of fake TNT and started smashing it around for some reason, then when group moved i carried it with me. We moved through a few more rooms that were made from differently colored fake TNT. Dream skips.
I was home and still had block of fake TNT with me, i put it down and there was weird machine in the middle of the room that automatically cleaned up stuff that was put onto it with water and also repaired clothes. I was playing around with it for a while then went to bed. Then when i got onto it
i spontaneously realized that i was dreaming, but dream instantly faded out. Then i seen some different kind of room but it was super blurry, also i heard binaurals. I was stuck like that for a few seconds then it faded out completely.
    9. Lucid Task of the Month Attempt: The Cook-Out

      by , 03-12-2013 at 01:04 PM
I dreamed several dreams, and woke between each.

      *side notes
      *gaining lucidity
      *lucid

#1 - I was having difficulty doing something. That's all I remember. Dream fragment.

Woke. Did Reality Check. Attempted WILD; failed, fell asleep.

#2 - I am in a house. I'm looking for a bathroom. There's no bathroom, because I didn't have enough in-game gold to buy an expansion. I discover that some of the red and white scented candles I've been buying were made by my cousin. He's been lying about having a regular desk job.

Woke, used bathroom. Reality Check. Attempted WILD; failed, fell asleep.

#3 - A wife and husband are fighting over their finances. The husband is unemployed or doesn't make much money, and the wife is burnt out and tired of working overtime to completely support them. The wife decides to make adult videos, and her best friend offers to help her. Her husband finds out and is extremely upset.

Woke. Rolled over and fell asleep.
      #4:
I dream that I am riding a bus through a sweeping countryside. It appears that I am somewhere in New Zealand. The landscape is mountainous and verdant. It has just rained, the sky is full of gorgeous, radiant clouds, and it's is very beautiful (note: sweeping landscapes after a storm are actually one of my dreamsigns)

It begins to storm violently, and I'm up in the mountains. I am both riding and driving the bus. It's storming like crazy, and the mountain road is winding and dangerous. I'm high up in the mountains now, going over a narrow bridge. The choppy water has risen to the very bottom of the bridge, and it churns dangerously. The bus hydroplanes, loses control, veers off the bridge. The bus is now an old cadillac. The bus now disappears from around me as I enter the water. Frigid water envelopes me as I sink, and places immense pressure on my body; I debate fighting it, or merely letting myself sink. I allow myself to be pulled under and away with the current.

I wake up on a bus. I don't wake up on a bus; I am driving a car. I'm going to pick up a friend's dad. My friend is a chubby blond teenager wearing a Hulk Hogan shirt. We pick up his dad at a fast food restaurant that looks like McDonald's. He jokes about us being a software development team. He is actually a developer, himself. He looks really tired, and I ask him if he's been pulling long hours. He says, "Yes, and driving is a challenge. I'm practically cross-eyed." He decides to check his voicemail and starts swearing; apparently, his boss/team lead is asking for a whole bunch of ridiculous stuff that he can't possibly do on such a short deadline.

I wake up on a bus. I have stretched out across the seats, and a little girl is commenting to her mother that I'm taking up too much space. I try to pull myself up into a fetal position to free up more seats. My friend and his dad are also on the bus. The landscape is the one as described before; the sweeping New Zealand landscape.

I wake up and feel a bit irritated that my prior attempts at WILD have failed. I see light seeping in through my bedroom window and am a bit upset that it appears to be so close to morning. I'm also irritated that I didn't pick up on my most obvious dream sign.

I fail to do a Reality Check. In retrospect, my bedroom window was INCORRECT. The curtain wasn't there. I shrug it off, telling myself that it's just another chance to try to WILD again. I settle down in bed (note: I am fairly certain this was a FA and I am actually trying to WILD from my FA, which is kind of hilarious because it actually works)

      #5 (?) -
I begin to see something forming in front of me, very blurry - it is a field of large, smooth pebbles. I decide that it looks somewhat like a beach, or is close enough to make into one. I try to make it solidify, but it fights me. I try to imagine it as part of a landscape, but it remains a flat plane - almost like a pattern. It is supposed to be the ground, I understand, but it takes up my entire field of vision.

I can feel it there - the dream is blurry, but it's forming. I don't want to lose it or lose consciousness, so I start actively trying to make it stabilize. I focus on the pebbles; they sharpen a bit, and then go all fuzzy again. I run my hands through the pebbles, then dive to the ground and shove my face into the pebbles. They're still fuzzy and immaterial, although I feel the ghosts of sensations from them. I enthusiastically rub my face back and forth in the pebbles. I feel like they're fading away and get upset, so in a moment of desperation, I lick the pebbles. They don't become any more material; they taste like grit and sawdust. I roll around on the ground like an idiot, grabbing handfuls of the ground and rubbing it into my face. I feel and smell dead leaves. Suddenly, there are dead leaves mixed into the pebbles.

I look up. There's more landscape forming! I see fuzzy green. I feel like this is like the edge of a lake or swimming hole. I stumble to my feet and pick leaves out of my hair.

The world suddenly solidifies, as my lucids often do - everything goes from a blurry mess to absolute perfect clarity. I am now on the edge of a small lake or swimming hole, on an artificial beach. I'm at a cook out!

There are tons of people milling around. The dad from my prior dream is grilling food, and there are a bunch of fat guys in tank tops drinking beer out of a cooler. There is a little girl in a purple swim suit playing with the sand. She has a toy shovel and those little plastic sand castle molds, and she's making a castle. She has white-blonde hair that curls in little ringlets around her ears, and blue eyes. She looks like she's maybe 3 or 4, and she's adorable. There is also a black and white Border Collie lying on a red and white checkered blanket next to a guy in a t-shirt and his kids. The dog is panting, because it's hot outside.

The swimming hole has a tall, metal slide where you can slide into the water. The sky above, unlike 99% of my lucids, is vivid blue and brilliantly clear - this is a hot summer day, probably July or even August.

I clap my hands together and yell out loud "YES! Finally!" I immediately run up to the dog and pet her. Her fur is thick and somewhat coarse. I scratch between her ears. She's very friendly, and enjoys the attention. As I scratch her behind the ears, I recall my lucid task.

"I need to destroy something right away!" I tell the dog. I had decided on Simple Task I, which was to destroy an object by any means.

I look around. One of the first things I see is the little girl's sand castle mold, but even thought she's a dream character I feel kind of bad about that. I see a plastic drinking cup with Vash the Stampede on the side of it (I haven't watched anime since the 90s, I don't know where that came from) but decide it's too solid/not interesting. There's an array of picnic stuff - plates, cookware, food, etc. I settle on the one thing that I feel is out of place: an empty carton of half & half.

I point at it and try to make it explode. Nothing happens. I get angry and pick it up and throw it, yelling, "This is MY dream!" It still does not explode. I chase after it, scoop it up, and tear it into several pieces. I begin to throw the pieces at the two fat guys who are sitting in plastic lawn chairs and drinking beer. They think this is hilarious.

I hear the little girl calling to me from behind me. She is running toward me, waving a huge syringe. One of those big, scary-looking ones they use to inject things into your rump. It's almost as big as she is (and for some reason, empty). I laugh and launch myself into the air, hovering above her. She runs around below me, waving the syringe. I rise higher into the air, using swimming motions, and taunt her. She begins to climb the ladder to the slide, which has now somehow gotten higher and scarier-looking and is turning into a bridge.

The dream fades, and I wake up. It is 3 a.m., which means that it couldn't have possibly been light outside last time I woke up.

    10. 14th Lucid Dream

      by , 03-12-2013 at 04:28 AM
      March 11, 2013 - 6 hours in - 2 minutes - WBTB, SSILD, MILD, FA, RC

Was practicing quick DEILD-style WILDs every 15 minutes via alarm starting 3.5 hours in, but just kept going back to sleep on each alarm, and at about 4.5 hours in I just turned those off and fell asleep normally. I then woke naturally about 5.5 hours in and stayed up for about 15-20 minutes, then did about 6 SSILD cycles of gradually increasing length. Afterward I did a mantra of "1, I know I'm dreaming, 2, I know I'm dreaming, 3..." while trying to visualize each digit up to 25, then laid down and went back to sleep.

I see something where it shouldn't be. I realize it as a hallucination and they fade away quickly. I figure that dream imagery has crossed over into waking life somehow.

After this sometime I am laying in bed when I try to plug my nose and breathe. It is successful and I know it is a dream, but my eyes are closed. I try the idea of opening my eyes with my dream hands, which I do, but I still am blind. Anyway, visuals somehow appear shortly afterward. The lighting throughout the house is not bright, like it is only via light from outside windows.

I rub my hands together for a short time on a regular basis throughout the dream. I move slowly and I put pants on, since I don't have any on in the dream for some reason. Then I evidently go into what is supposed to be the other bedroom. I think of my goal of summoning someone, but first I go into that bathroom, which has the same shape as reality, to see if there are any extra doors leading somewhere to explore. There aren't and back in the bedroom, a large sectional sofa with messy sheets occupies the corner of the room. There are two alarm clocks laying on the sheets, one says 29:03, the other says "Guero" (which is evidently a Spanish word, but I didn't know that at the time, so it is just a made up word). I try going in a room like the closet but I wake up before I do anything.

    11. 11th Mar 2013 Confusing false awakenings, pigeon mail

by , 03-11-2013 at 02:54 AM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Dream recall from non-lucid naps.

      Nap #1:

In the dream, i was still trying to WILD, but i failed again and was basically in the dream in the dream, and there i was still trying to WILD, family came and were annoying and distracting me about something, which ended up with me waking up in the dream where i forgot to reality check and decided to try DEILDing instead, then family was distracting me again and then i woke up truly, what the fuck.

      Nap #2(fragment):

I was at home and we were using pigeon mail top send some messages somewhere, there was one weird pigeon that didn't looked like pigeon at all.
    12. Another LD, finally...

by , 03-10-2013 at 02:27 PM (Fennecgirl's Collection of Dreams)
I haven't updated my dream journal in ages, whoops.

Anyway, I FINALLY had another lucid dream last night!

It started out as a false awakening; I don't remember what made me realize I might be dreaming, but I remember I was standing in the kitchen at the time. I counted my fingers, and I was PRETTY sure I'd counted six. I wasn't entirely sure I'd counted correctly, though, so I decided to check my other hand just to make sure. However, before I could count my fingers, I noticed something else that was a dead giveaway - my Hylian crest ring (which I wear on the index finger of my left hand) had a different symbol on it, and a larger version of that symbol also appeared across my index, middle, and ring fingers (think like a henna tattoo, but golden and slightly illuminated).

My mom was in the kitchen, so I started talking to her, since I knew I had to try to keep talking or actively focusing on something (I wake up within moments otherwise). After a moment of talking, I suddenly said, "Did you know this is a dream? This is how I know." I showed her the ring and the image across my fingers, which changed each time I looked at it. The last time I looked at it, I remember that the ring had a picture of a tree, and on my fingers were the mountains behind it. It was actually really cool.

I knew I needed to come up with ideas of things I could only do in a dream, and I knew it would be best to start with simple dream control techniques as practice. I announced that I was going to try to phase through the door (a skill that might come in handy in a later dream, right?), only to end up slamming into the door and not passing through. Oh well, I tried.

I asked my mom if she had any other suggestions of things I could try, but she asked me to leave her alone for a moment because she was busy cooking. Normally, this would have been fine, but, since this was a dream, I had to find a way to keep myself in the dream in the meantime.

I remember chattering away to myself for a moment before stopping and accidentally waking up.

    14. Half lucidity 12/02/13

      by , 03-09-2013 at 03:42 PM
So basicaly in my last period of REM,before the dream even start,i was day dreaming and while that i told to myself that i was dreaming.

After that i fell asleep without my awareness but every time i toldmyself in the dream that i was dreaming i got to my bed (FA).

I was not in full controll but every once in a while i thought to myself:"Why the heck am i worried about this? i'm freaking dreaming dude!".

I've got a feeling that the more i practice, the more i become close to taming my awareness during dreams and consequently becoming lucid. I'd call a good day at the DW. (dream world)

    15. Old Hag Syndrome

      by , 03-08-2013 at 02:47 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
      03.08.2013
      Old Hag Syndrome (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I "wake up," incredibly thirsty. "Definitely gotta get up and get some water," I think groggily. My mouth is so dry that my tongue is practically sticking to the back of my throat.

When I open my eyes, the first thing I see is a tall, dark figure. It is a tall old woman, wearing a black hat and a big black dress. I stare at the woman calmly, fully believing that I'm really just seeing a normal object, my refrigerator maybe, and that my brain is just still half asleep and making me hallucinate. I fully expect her to disappear within a few moments.

      She doesn't.

Instead, she glares directly into my eyes and lunges right at me! I let out a yelp of terror and shut my eyes. "OhmygodOhmygod I'm being attacked," I think frantically.

Then I realize that I can't move and that I've been stuck in sleep paralysis this whole time.

The realization actually makes me feel a bit better. At least now I know that the old woman isn't really real. Every time I open my eyes, I see her back in the doorway. Each time, she lunges toward me. I always close my eyes before she reaches me. Even though I know she's not real, it's still creepy as hell.

I really want to look at my clock: my one anchor to the physical world. But with the old hag constantly attacking me, I can't focus enough to do so. I have to get rid of her.

I open my eyes once more. The old woman comes toward me. I focus on speaking. "Don't. Touch. Me." It is an effort to get the words out, but I am pleased at how dangerously angry I sound. At the same time, I use an old trick of mine: I gather my fear and send it outward in an aggressive wave. The old woman halts in her tracks, stunned at my sudden retaliation.

After her initial shock, she says something along the lines of, "I will destroy you!"

"You can't hurt me," I growl in the same deadly tone.

She cackles. "Wanna bet?" She grabs ahold of my elbow. Pain radiates down my arm, but I've had worse and I only laugh.

"Even if you can hurt me, it doesn't make any difference," I taunt. "You're not real. You don't even exist."

Infuriated, she releases her hold on me and howls in rage.

"Now get away from me!" I yell. She stands in the doorway for the rest of the dream, not daring to attack again.

Now I can look at the clock. I struggle to make out the numbers: It's almost six in the morning. I've been stuck in SP for a while now, and I'm getting sick of it. SADLY, I fail to remember that I'm SUPPOSED to turn it into an LD or an OBE. Instead, I focus all my efforts into trying to wake myself up.

Nothing I do is helping. The only physical parts of me that I can control are my breathing, my eyes, and my tongue, but I can't do anything significant enough to wake myself up! Now that I'm not being attacked (and the vibrations aren't as intense as they have been), I'm getting incredibly bored and fed up with being forced to lie here not doing anything. How much longer could this possibly LAST!?

Screaming at my roommate to wake me up just results in more pointless hallucinations. So I remain stuck in SP for a while longer until I FINALLY snap out of it and wake up for real.
