    1. Blessed in the sky; crippled on the ground

      by , 02-19-2014 at 12:40 PM
In my journey as an oneironaut, which has been going on for about 3 to 4 weeks now, this is the first lucid dream I've had that I've been able or thought to exert control over. It happened on the night between the 8th and 9th of this February.
This lucid dream was a DILD, as well as a MILD. In the dream, lucidity was triggered by a hand-based reality check. I had just finished up some classes in my school that confused me and was standing outside in a long queue of students whose purpose I didn't understand. The yard outside was similar to the one from my previous school, rather than my current one; but in this entry, I'm focusing on what happened afterwards.
Suddenly and out of nowhere, I decided to look at my hands. They were white, as is the colour of my real hands; but when I counted the fingers, I had trouble with counting five on one hand. At first, I wondered if I'd miscounted; and tried counting up the fingers on my left hand a couple more times. There was no mistake. I had six fingers.
I recalled what this meant. I wasn't near full dream consciousness, so I doubt I remembered the significance of the event and I didn't remembered what I'd intended to do if I achieved dream lucidity this night. But I did think to control my dream as a result of this realisation; and naturally, my first thought was to fly. I found it fairly easy. I ran a few steps down the ground, kicked off it and took off. I soared high and fast above the heads of my dream characters, who now looked to be in my school's P.E. class.
With a bit of a challenge, I lowered to the ground incompletely, without dropping, and then heightened again. I flew over something that was like a tall wall or hedge or mini-mountain. (Since I wasn't at full consciousness, there were still a lot of things I didn't think to question.) I flew to the top of a giant basketball hoop on the other side and sort of stood on it for a moment before taking off again. My schoolmates still see me perform all these feats at this point. Finally, I decided to give flying a rest and try something different.
I lowered to the ground and attempted running at super-fast speed. I wanted to run as fast as I had been able to fly. Alas, I was not so fortunate in this endeavour, as running in a dream seems to often be frustratingly problematic. Once I was grounded, I struggled through a few steps and fell over. There, I saw a dark-skinned man who was a competitive runner and I wanted to pick myself back up and challenge him to a race, at which I confidently planned to annihilate him with my dream control. (I later discovered that this dream character was supposedly the fastest runner in the world, which indicates that he may have been based on Usain Bolt.)
But this time, I failed as terribly as the last. The man, who now had a crowd of supporters with him, mocked me from above. I tried to pick myself back up and race him again. On the starting line, he blatantly stood ahead of me before it was time to start. I got upset but let him do it in the end because I thought that if I was going to win this race, I would do it regardless of the difference of a metre or two. As we began running, I was still behind; but steadily so. Though I still struggled to run, I felt like I was doing it better than before. And we were running at both the same speed – which wasn’t actually saying much. I found myself wondering then how this character could be the fastest runner in the world. But before any official finish line was crossed, he was gone and I’d crossed into a new territory – the actual yard of my current school. By this time, I had been too immersed in the race to remember that it was just a dream. My lucidity was lost and I went on to dream about classmates and a broken water fountain.
    2. Night 13, Competition #16, Christmas Morning Gift, Smashing Skyscrapers with Telekinesis!

      by , 12-30-2013 at 05:31 AM
I thought I posted this already in my DJ but I don't see it... From Christmas Morning!

12/25/13 quick excerpt: I was driving down the street and I saw my friend M from A outside his garage. I stop to say hi and he is telling me about something he invited me to recently. I look around I notice there are a lot of people there and it is a party. I don't think much of this at first but then I see my aunt L and D and at first I think he must've met them before but wait a minute what are they doing here they are hundreds of miles away I am dreaming! Almost immediately I think of my goal, the next task for the competition, mass telekinesis and I teleport out of there thinking about a cityscape. I am fairly sure I closed my eyes Boss style. Either way I went from a day time scene in a town a good ways away from the city over to a moonlight scene and some version of a city. There were only two large skyscrapers at first and a green patch of grass in between & in front of them. It all seems a little fuzzy or cloudy so I get down on my hands and knees and feel the grass to stabilize it feels so nice and cool that I almost was tempted to lay n roll around in it but no I got back up and proceeded with my task I used to telekinesis to pick up one skyscraper and throw it into the other. Awesome!!! I fly over to another group of buildings and I see quite a few more I threw a couple of them together with telekinesis. I stop and think about my next goal, Scionox would like it and it was starting to work but then I started fading back to bed. Felt I could definitely re-enter a dream but I feel my wife next to me and switch priorities which turned out nice. Also had to get going with Christmas activities.

    3. Fast track to Advanced Dream Control LD

      by , 10-22-2013 at 05:59 PM
I stepped into this dream already aware. I was in a large courtyard with grass and tall pine trees. I noticed that i was lucid and started to use stabilization techniques that I had learned, multiple times before i was anchored and stabilized. I tried to make a piece of candy corn appear, but could not. There was a cop car that seemed to be looking for me. I tried to escape it by flying above the trees using a very basic method of flight because I could not fly like super man, like i originally wanted. It followed me as I moved around. Eventually i was caught when I ended up landing and could not use many dream control powers to escape them. I was taken to the mansion, where it seemed that they knew who I was, and they wanted to take me somewhere and experiment on me. I was lucid, but I wanted to see where this was going.
I was taken into the mansion. The ceiling was high, and it all gave off a very sophisticated aura. I heard the group of people that captured me talking to one another. Though cliche, while looking through the crack in the door, they all turned to me and stared. I then faded and reentered outside of the mansion.
There were 8 very large bald people that seemed to be in on the experiment. Each of them could use dream powers very well and i had to muster up all of my knowledge and dream control to escape each one. Through battling each one I learnt the drive and effort it takes to control each skill in a dream. I could phase through walls as if they were drapes, I could fly like superman, I could conjure objects at will, and I could use telekinesis. I never beat the first few, but using my powers, I survived. After their time was up, they turned to stone, and I was forced to battle the next one. There were battles on rooftops, and to the center of the earth as I dug, as well as through the basement of the mansion which was full of man-made streams. One by one, each turned to stone as I counted them off. There was only one left. We ended up battling to the roof of the mansion where, as the night turned day, the bald man looked towards the sun. He turned to me and said words which i cannot remember, but what I do know is what I felt, and it was that each of these giant men were all trying to teach me new powers. Only through the drive of desperation and self preservation was I able to achieve each skill almost unconsciously. The man used his long arms and pulled himself to the roof, as I flew up to see where he was going, all I saw was a stone gargoyle, and the petrified statue of the last giant bald man. I was able to stretch the dreams many times, but eventually it ended, before I fought the last boss.
at this point I had to DEILD to get back into the dream. I woke up, did a reality check, then immediately closed my eyes, stayed still and reentered the dream. I was in the courtyard, and there I met the final boss. He had short spiked hair with a wave at the front. His hair was black and he was wearing a black leather jacket. using all the powers I had learned so far, i kept pace with him. he conjured a sword which i used telekenisis to throw away. we both flew in the air very naturally, like a superhero. I conjured my own sword. The battle wasn't finished as the dream started to fade while i was in mid combat and couldn't stabilize it. I woke up and tried to DEILD and MILD and WILD to reenter, but it didn't work.
    4. Can you control your lucid dreams?

      by , 10-08-2013 at 08:08 PM
      Hi everyone,

I am writing because recently I noticed the amount of people who have lucid dreams, but can't control what they do in them. I've had lucid dreaming my entire life, and have dreams nightly, except I've taught myself to consciously acknowledge that I'm dreaming, and control my thoughts, actions, and words in the dream.

Furthermore, I can alter situations, change who people are, and even have full on conversations if I want to, and it's all through techniques I was forced to develop in order to avoid the bone-chilling feeling of nightmares.

I've written an eBook on the techniques I've developed, which include several detailed dreams that may be similar to ones you've had. If you're interested in finding out about someone else who has the same lucid dreaming experience you do, or if you want to learn how to control your dreams, check it out!

It will be free to download until Sunday, "How to Control Lucid Dreaming" . Thank you!
    5. I MADE IT LUCID!!!! Okay...so semi-lucid :D :D :D

      by , 08-11-2013 at 11:09 PM (SilverWolf's Sleep Sessions)
I did it! I FINALLY made it Lucid the second time that I can remember--first time since giving up over half a year ago! It's a very long dream too, took me 4 pages of paper. Very vivid, and very memorable, with enough lucidity that I was able to exert some pretty cool control--but not enough lucidity to take control of the course of my dream.

      "Bear" Lucidity

Sunday, August 11 4:00 AM----went to bed at 12 Midnight

I'm in a deep forest. THe trees are incredibly vivid and bright green--much brighter than any in real life. They are tall as well, probably hundreds of feet. I walk for a bit across the soft mossy ground; my feet sink into the moss. It's pleasant, warm, and tranquil. It really does remind me of something from either Tolkien or possibly the Chronicles of Elantra. It isn't long, however, before I see something ahead--a very large, very mean looking bear.

The bear is mangy looking, with tufts of thick brown fur sticking up here and there. He's snuffling the ground, making grunting noises as he does so. I'm starting to feel really scared, considering running before it notices me--and then I have the realization that I don't need to be afraid of the bear. I'm Dreaming, and it can't hurt me! I didn't do a reality check, I was so sure I was dreaming (although I wish I had, nothing like a reality check failing!). The thought that I'm dreaming simply pops into my head--I'm not even sure what triggered it, except that I fell asleep repeating that I would realize I'm dreaming.

I decide to play with my newfound lucidity by dealing with the bear in a rather cinematic way--I'm in a fantasy setting, may as well throw a fire-ball at it like any mage from a fantasy novel would do. I'm just about to form the fireball in my hands when another thought occurs to me; a perhaps better way to deal with the bear might be to put it to sleep instead! So, I fling my hands forward, and a wave of energy rushes forward, striking the bear. At once, the creature lies down, and starts snoozing! Impressed with my work I head on my way, to wherever the forest path will lead me.

And then I lose lucidity completely. For some reason, after a bit of walking, I start to be very afraid of the bear again. I have the uncanny feeling that it will be majorly ticked off when it wakes up, because I put it to sleep, and that it will try to eat me. So now I'm running, trying to get out of the forest before the bear catches up to me.

I then come across what I can best describe as a very odd hunting lodge. It looks rather small from the outside, but inside it is amazingly large--almost like I'm outside again. There is a person I've never met--I can't remember what he looked like, but I *think* he had short blonde hair. Anyway, I tell him about the bear chasing me, and he takes me to the back room to help get away from it. The back room is very impressive. It is massive, the ground covered in moss, and logs are stacked about the walls. The walls themselves seem to go higher and higher--I can't see the ceiling, and a path of these strange logs lead up, up, and up. I start to run across the logs, every once in a while coming upon a gap that I have to jump--very reminiscent of a side-scrolling video-game like Super Mario World.

At some point, I regain lucidity again, as I'm running across the logs, and remember that I don't need to fear the bear, he cannot possibly hurt me. So, I walk down the log path, to the ground below. (Blame my not jumping down on being only partially lucid--I'd have LOVED to jump down instead of walk down. Darnit). After I get down, I leave the hunting lodge, only to find myself in my living room. However, the living room is entirely different from how it is IRL. For one, there is no wall between the dining room and living room. For two, there is moss like there was in the forest, covering the floor and thick jungle-like vines covering the walls. There's a single couch and the door leading to the bathroom in the back of the living room.

My mom and dad are sitting on the couch. I excitedly tell them how cool it is that I'm in a dream right now! Mom tells me how awesome that is, congratulates me on having a lucid dream. Dad, however, starts telling me how it doesn't matter, it's just dreams, not life--and it is stupid anyway. I'm standing behind the couch, and mom starts arguing with dad about what he said. I take little notice, however, because I feel the dream starting to fade--and I retain enough lucidity to know I want this to keep going.

"Uh oh!" I exclaim out loud.
"What?" Asks my mother, turning around to face me.
"The dream is fading." I say. And then, I look at my hands, remembering some of the things I've read here about how to keep from losing a dream. Oddly enough, my hands appear mostly normal for dream hands--the only real difference is they are fuzzy. I then vigorously rub them together, shouting "STABILIZE!" When that doesn't seem to be working enough, I start to spin. I spin three times, mumbling in a sing-song voice "spin, spin, spin" as I do so. When I stop, mom asks me what I'm doing.

"Stabilizing the dream" I tell her. My lucidity wavers slightly and I have the foggy idea that mom will be more convinced that I'm dreaming if I change my appearance. I decide to shape-shift into one of her favorite music singers, Michael Jackson (I too am a fan, I must admit). I go into the bathroom to the mirror hanging on the wall. I look into it, but I'm still the same, despite my desire to change shape. I frown, then have an idea. I turn around, and tell myself "I look like Michael Jackson."

When I turn back around, I am the spitting image of MJ, how he looked during his video for the song Dirty Dianna, complete with long dark hair, the thin white shirt and leather pants. I'm wearing the buckled boots he wore in his video for the song "Beat it" and in the background, the opening strands of Billie Jean begin to play. Dad comes into the bathroom, telling me how stupid I'm being and all of this lucid dreaming stuff is. In my new shape, voice sounding EXACTLY like Michael Jackson, I put a finger to my lips, shushing him. I then place my index finger on my Dad's chest, and in the same tone MJ uses when he states "Who's Bad" in the song, I tell dad "BEGONE!" Of course, he looks quite confused.

"Be gone?" he repeats in surprise.

"Be gone!" I repeat firmly. Then he just pops out of existence--poof, just like that, leaving me amazed. My excitement, however, is short lived. Before I ever even make it out of the Bathroom to show Mom that I really am dreaming, everything goes black, and I wake up!

      7:00 am

I only remember a fragment of this dream. I remember being in the kitchen telling my mother about my lucid dream from earlier. I heard dad get up, then mom got up starting the coffee. I came out, told her about the dream, and that's it--I remember nothing else. I would classify this as a false-awakening fragment.
    6. Put that tutorial in a cage!

      by , 06-05-2013 at 05:34 PM
The room is white, featureless, indirectly illuminated, and the only object in the room is a black-metal cage, approximately 42 inches on a side. The bars are about 3 inches apart and I can clearly see that nothing is inside the cage.

My intention is to put the Dream Control tutorial into this cage. It's what I'm supposed to do and it's also what my father wants. I did feel odd having him advise me in any way about dreaming material but he seemed to know what he was talking about, though he was never in the room.

I struggled for a while with the concept of placing the tutorial in the cage and how it wouldn't escape the particular style of cage, since the spacing between the bars was easily wide enough to slip through (for a tutorial) when I woke up.

I don't even know what to say about this dream.
    7. 04/11/2013 - How Lucid Dreams Work - 1st dream (lucid)

      by , 04-11-2013 at 07:06 PM
I'm chatting lucidly with a male DC that seems to be almost otherworldly. He appears human but there's something more to him that I perceive as futuristic and knowledgeable.
My surroundings are unimportant and appear to be contained within some misty cave, dark and foreboding, secretive, the kind of place where stuff like this happens.
The man is dressed in white clothing and is holding a box to his chest, about 12 inches on a side and perhaps 7 inches thick. It appears to be internally illuminated and glows a light green color, though it is not transparent.
The man explains to me that if I place my hand on the box then the patterns my hand makes will determine the kind of lucid dream I have. This isn't hand-reading technology but in fact responds to various patterns, and it's these patterns that control all kinds of dreaming.
I place my hand on the box and the scenery around me shifts to a brilliant blue view of the ocean from cliffs. I flex my hand and it changes again to scenes from past dreams, odd-looking skies and places that don't exist.
I want to step into one of these scenes but everything gets fuzzy and I wake up, needing to pee. :(
    8. Huge tornado; DILD, good dream control

      by , 03-26-2013 at 08:54 PM
During day: 5xRCs including DS review

Dream recall technique: none used, remembered 2 dreams

      Total sleep time: 7+hrs

After being too lazy or tired in the last few days, I decided it's time to try to WILD again. Set the alarm clock to wake me 5hrs after going to bed, woke up, stayed awake for a few mins (I avoid waking myself too much because I really cannot fall asleep afterwards), then went back to bed, repeating a mantra. I fell asleep.

Dream1: I am in someplace which is my dream home and I am going to bed trying to WILD, blankets all around me, mobile phones, watches showing the time. Then I wake up in the dream, I am in the car with my dad who is driving me somewhere. How strange I think, I really can't remember what I did or where I have been before that. I look at a watch and it's five hours later than when I went to bed in the dream. “It’s like I have lost five hours of my life”, I am thinking to myself.

My parents are cooking dinner in an unknown building in our old neighbourhood. I want to WILD and initially lay my blankets on the roof of a building, trying to relax there. Somehow I am teleported where my parents are and they make a lot of noise so I can't fall asleep. We watch a large part of something, the size of window, fly off and crash on our neighbors’ roof. It is my fault [of course!] because I have forgotten to close the windows so the wind blew that part away. I remember in the dream that I have closed the windows and start telling this to my dad. We go to my parents’ bedroom where the neighbors are also visible and have a look at the windows.

The wind is so strong that I am afraid that everything will start flying off in different directions. I close the windows, but as soon as I do they open again. The frame looks pretty broken. My dad says he will put something on the windows so the windows can't be used again. This saddens me because I won't be able to look at the sunset anymore, so I tell him. I look in the direction of the sunset and a see a larger than usual sun, more yellowish less bright with some details visible. I remember not to stare at it too long because it's bad for the eyes.

A few blocks away I see a huge tornado just starting to form. Oh, no! It's far but it is coming, so I tell my parents we should go somewhere else. Then I start wasting time, trying to grab my blanket, looking around for other stuff. The tornado is getting closer really fast. It has a scary destructive force, I see it passing over and through a row of houses, there are sound and sight of implosions and the houses are completely destroyed. There is very little chance to make it if we stay in the building. Better try to run outside. So I do.

I find myself in another building, facing a boy. I consider this to be a bit strange but go on my way as I see the scary gray mist swirling around. There is an expensive section in this building something like a cafe for special people. Next to it is the exit. I am running from the windows where the tornado is towards the cafe /exit. I rush through the cafe shouting “Get out, now!” to the woman who works there. There are three very strange looking kids that have been left there by their ultra rich parents. I try to take them with me but they don't react, just stare there with blank faces, so I leave them at the table. One of the employees of the cafe tells me that all is safe outside, so I urge her to look around the corner to confirm. She doesn't want to do that. I do it myself. No swirling or tornado coming yet, so I walk a bit, but as I cross the street I see it is getting nearby, a fast moving mist rather than a tornado, so I launch myself forward, jump some fences and continue running...[end]

I woke up after this, since I had no WILD success again I just decided to sleep some more. I forgot any other dreams. It was time to wake up but I pressed the alarm for one more snooze. 9 mins to go. (By the way I thought I could change the snooze settings but can't figure how to do so). I am not attempting to LD, I really don't care at this point.

Dream2 Snooze DILD: I am in a car parked near my parents' current place, my alarm clocks are all around me again. My teacher is trying to reach me on the phone in the dream. I know that I will soon wake up so I don't bother picking up. I am staring at the sky. Is it a spaceship? A strange object is flying around, it looks like a flying truck, how can that be? My awareness is trying to awake. I follow the flight of this truck until it lands in the yard nearby. At that point I know that I am dreaming! An older DC man is in the truck, he reminds me of some unknown famous actor, also looks angry and menacing. He comes to me looking somewhat aggressive. I am really tired of all the chasing around, so I just intend him to be a nice guy, and to my amazement he decides to take it easy. The car where I am begins sliding down the road, but the yard end/road entrance is too narrow for it to pass. I somehow try to size the car down, it becomes very long and thin and I am amazed at this transformation. I stop the car and go to my room in my parents place.

No idea why I decided to go there. Now, in front of me is a gray cloud forming, starting to look scary. I remember the tornado fear, so this is unpleasant. I am still lucid although getting distracted by the cloud, when I remember not to give in. I try to make the cloud go away. In this case, I am stronger so it cannot do anything and just vanishes.

I somehow start unintentionally creating clouds. Those look like real clouds from far away, different hues and shades on the cloud, partly lit by the sun, etc. I also hear the sound of distant thunder coming from the mini vivid cloud in front of me, I really like that. I am having a moment of great enjoyment creating these clouds making them appear from my hands as if they were a ball of cloud, there is also some dark blue light sparkling. I do this quite a few times until I get exhausted and cannot do it anymore. I am still lucid, but am beginning to lose concentration, so I decide to get out of there and go to the street.

I am on the street. A rather unpleasant looking DC decides he will accompany me to wherever I am going. The only task from my list that I remember to do is to summon a certain DC and ask him a pre-determined question. I start calling out for the DC to appear, nothing. I try again, no result. I ask the ugly DC next to me where is the DC I am trying to summon. Of course, he doesn't know. I don't like that, but I nevertheless decide to ask him the question I had in mind. He answers something nonsensical. I try to have a conversation with him, but I find it hard to hear or understand what he says. We probably exchanged no more than a few sentence and I notice in the dream that I start forgetting what he said.
[Very strange, I guess there is place for only one two questions at a time]

I wonder how I am still here on the street for what feels like so long and the dream is still here, I am happy about that. I notice two tall guys with black scarves around their heads walking towards us. I notice how out of order this looks and smile to myself, how easy it is to spot inconsistencies while I am lucid now. I try to stop them maybe talk to them, but they insist on continuing on their way, strong momentum so making them stop is really hard. Still no alarm clock interfering, I expect it to ring any moment. I get distracted thinking and then find myself in darkness, feeling my body. My eyes are still closed and I try to DEILD but no success.

I look at my alarm clock, two minutes to the alarm? I jump out of bed trying to hold on to the dream memory, which today feels very evasive as the dreams begin to erase themselves.

Final remarks: Dream control today was really good, tried out the tips to make the chaser a nice guy, which worked in this LD. I also think that reading posts and this tutorial on dream control http://www.dreamviews.com/wiki/Dream-Control-Tutorial helped!

      Swimming Pool (7:15) (LUCID)

The play I'm watching turns out to be rather experimental. First they pretend like the play was over, then they keep going. Then they even turn on the house lights and go offstage, but somehow I know that the play's not actually over yet. I wonder how they're going to catch everyone's attention again to continue the show.

Later, walking down a hallway, I realize that I'm dreaming. Time to go on an adventure! I'm carrying a backpack, which would be an annoyance to deal with, so I get in an elevator to take it back to my room first. But then I realize that that's stupid. I'll make it disappear instead. Setting it against the wall of the elevator, I focus on it. How to make it disappear? I imagine being able to see the corner of the elevator through the backpack--just a wireframe. Then fill it in with some colors . . . the dream doesn't feel stable . . . it was a bit dangerous to try to control things this directly . . . but just a bit more . . .

Suddenly, the backpack disappears! Immediately, the dream feels twice as vivid, twice as stable. Success! Now I go straight to the floor of interest, instead of going back to my room first. After getting out of the elevator, I start taking off my clothes. Then I pause to do a reality check: I wouldn't want to be doing this in real life. Although, now I think on it, why would I want to do it in a dream, either? It's kind of taking a lot of time to remove every blasted item of clothing. Well, whatever. As I continue, I think about what I want to do with this dream. I remember one of my dream goals: "swim beneath the ocean."

Later, I look through a window. Gravity and architecture aren't quite behaving properly; the exterior of the building slants diagonally away from the window, ending many stories below in a pool at ground level. I dive out the window and splash into the pool. Darkness and confusion reign for a few moments as a bodiless voice narrates something about symbolic significance of water, representing protection from the danger of the outside world. Moments later, I break the surface and see undulating hills of water all around, like small ocean swells. The narrator then says, "You know what else represents protection?" and suddenly a girl floats into view and up to my side. She's not wearing anything.

Obviously, the expectation is that I'll take this chance to have sex. "Squirt me," she says with an encouraging smile. I give her a wry look and reply, "No." I'm not interested in doing that right now, although I do "squirt" off to the side just to acknowledge the temptation, or something. We pick a direction and start swimming that way. On a whim, I decide to go in for some manual stimulation and reach between her legs. She doesn't react, though. "That doesn't do anything for you?" I ask after a few moments. She shakes her head and replies, "Like I said, I'm trying to quit." Soon, I wake up.

      Personal Tutoring (8:20) (LUCID)

Alone, I'm exploring a castle. After a while, I realize that walking is taking too long, so I take out my bike and start riding around instead. But even that gets boring, and I start wondering what else I could be doing. Just like that, I remember my dream goal about swimming in the ocean, and I realize that I'm dreaming.

Moments later, I find myself again underneath the water in a swimming pool. Dumbledore is tutoring me in dream control. Rather than trying to force myself to the surface, he says, I should trust the dream to buoy me. This strikes me as real wisdom. I hold myself in cannonball position and focus on the sensation of being lifted and turned by the water. Soon, I wake up.

      Christian String Quartet (9:00)

I'm sitting in a public area when suddenly I hear an acoustic guitar behind me. Cool, live music! When the string quartet starts playing a song, I'm not sure exactly what it's about at first, but I suspect (slightly uncomfortably) that it's Christian rock.

    10. Three is the charm, apparantly....

      by , 04-08-2012 at 11:48 PM
From my notepad posted this morning:

Today was my third lucid I think, but this one was the most intense I had so far. The longest one too. It's Easter Sunday today and I've been pretty sick with a head cold the last few days. However, at around 11:20 am it happened. I was quite sick last night and was on medication while sleeping, which had probably started wearing off already when I had the dream.

On waking up at about 11 I stated to myself that I wanted to have a lucid dream. Then I fell back to sleep almost instantly.

First I had a normal dream, was kind of in an office building with the hubby waiting for something; to book a vacation or room or something. Not sure what it was that we were actually doing there, but there were a lot of other people there too. We had to sit at a table and wait our turn. When it was finally that it SHOULD have been our turn, the people who ran the office stopped working to have lunch. I was not happy about this, seeing how the office was now empty and we were the only ones who had not been helped. So I walked around, and sat at a different table talking to one of the people eating lunch in the next cubical over; they said I had to wait; it would be about an hour. Looking at the table after the conversation again, there was suddenly a key, and a new phone, with head set in two different packs that was not there before. I thought someone had forgotten it there. I took it and thought to perhaps let the staff know that if anyone lost a phone, we'd be around town for a few more days, they could let us know and we'd meet them to return it. I didn't trust the office staff; since they were not very helpful to us. Before I could decide on the phone or even show the Hubby the phone, he wanted to leave, since neither of us wanted to wait another hour. Then suddenly the scene shifted, he was not there anymore and I was outside.

The next thing I know I'm stating to myself that I'm dreaming. This is odd, as my normal reality check while awake is "Am I dreaming" or "Is this a dream". Also oddly enough I had not done a reality check for a while in waking life because I had been sick; but I remembered it right then and there in the dream and perform my floating and levitation test. Normally I do it just by little gestures such as trying to float up somewhere and touch something that's just out of my reach, but since I was already thinking I was dreaming I did it a little more grand. I saw people in this outside clearing area and I decided I would run, jump and float over two people's heads and then land on the other side. The experiment was kind of shaky, but it did work. I took off, but didn't get very high, closed my eyes, said out loud that I wanted to float higher so I would not hit anyone and did manage that; but my landing was not quite where I wanted. Still it proved to me that indeed I was dreaming, as I can only do things like that when dreaming, never when awake. I then reminded myself to not get too exited, something I had read on this forum, as I had read that this can make the dreams shorter.

I was actually outside for a lucid dream, something I had hoped to achieve since I first started working on achieving lucidity. So I took it slow.

There was some kind of bridge or something in the dream scene. It was pretty big and made out of rock. Very pretty actually. What it covered I don't remember, but I know it was not water, so probably was the field/clearing outdoors where I was at. I do remember trying to get my floating/flying a bit up to speed. Was NOT too good at that though. Remember once bumping INTO the bridge - but not getting hurt. I was still saying things out loud to make them happen and this felt awkward and didn't really work all that well this time since I focusing on the float/fly at the same time. So I started just thinking what I wanted, and at times visualizing it while going along. This meant closing my eyes to make things change, which was also awkward and didn't help much either, as not all changes were those I wanted and my floating / flying left a lot left to be desired. It got really weird, as at one point there were FROGS on the bridge when I approached it, when I had expected nothing there, or perhaps flowers or plants there. So I closed my eyes, mid hover/float/fly and focused on green plants being there instead. The frogs went, but again I almost crashed just making that happen. So I figured, closing eyes not so good in lucid dreams if you are not firmly on the ground walking. Maybe it works for those who are actually good at flying yet, but for little bumbling me it didn't work well.

I messed around with the bridge and the floating for a tiny bit more and then tried to get better at manifesting things in dreams. Frogs just were not what I wanted to experience, so I wanted to practice stuff a bit better. Seemed to me
like the dream environment changes very easily on it's own, and things change there very quickly -- even randomly it seemed. Might have been the nyquil too though in retrospect.

Not sure how I got to the next part of the dream, but I was somewhere else with someone else, a girl. I worked on trying to make things happen in the dream scene. In this case it was having flowers be in different places and growing. This was
not as easy as it sounds since we were indoors this time. Again, I was using the whole closing eyes thing and it did not work at all, even with visualizing what I wanted to happen where. No flower. I know this time it was different than the food dream where I was walking around the corner to make something BE there when I got there. No I was just right there, not moving from place to place. I have a feeling the girl was trying to TEACH me and helping me figure it all out. No easy ways out this time, such as having doors or walking around to aid in my manifesting. There were only flower pots and dirt there; and a photo of the plant to be manifested as well as ones that the girl had manifested before me.

After experimentation, one of the things that did work very well was actually manipulating time in the dream realms to make things happen. I had seen enough time lapse videos online, so I used that to actually make the flowers grow and
prosper before my eyes. WITHOUT having to close my eyes or change positions this time. This was neat and I had no idea that that could be done. I did this a few times to get practice in it.

Then I wanted to try to get roses there, red roses. The other plants were already around or there were pictures of them around, so they were easier to manifest and bring into reality. All of them were yellow, and yellow/whitish and they looked nothing like roses. Roses were no where in sight; so it would be a lot harder. The pots that were there were too small, I needed something larger to make a rose bush that was blooming. Trying again first to close my eyes and visually create a pot for them to grow in was not working. So I tried to merely create a small bowl out of nothing, which did work. Then using my thoughts and the dream realm's laws of creating things to make it bigger just by wanting it to be bigger. This was very odd but interesting enough it did actually worked. No clue how though.

Sadly at this time the dream became odd and somewhat unstable. I may have gotten to exited at actually seeing all this cool stuff around me and actually making things appear out of thin air. Or maybe my logical mind made me analyze the impossibility of the situation too much. I started losing lucidity and control; but tried my best to hold on to it. The girl suddenly seemed much older, which I didn't notice when she changed over. She also turned the nice long flower pot I had managed to make into a canoe all of a sudden; saying we should use it to go somewhere. There were also two other people that she referred to which were nearby and around now too, that she named as those who should go with us. No clue how ANY of that happened; especially in less than 30 seconds while I was focusing on flower pots and roses and seeming like I had the hang of it.

Then the dream changed again. Not sure if I tried to change it or if it just did because of the weirdness and loss of control factor. I might have simply walked off. My dream recall also went offline at this time. I found myself walking going up stairs or something, probably trying to go outside again. I noticed something small being off where the dream tried to imitate reality but caught on it it and knew I was still dreaming. That awareness stuff does work. So I tried to ignore that and keep going; to continue being lucid. It would have worked, but instead I woke up. It turned out that all my medicine had worn off and I was coughing with a runny nose laying in bed awake.

      In retrospect:

For one I have a feeling that I caught on to the initial shift, the sudden change of dream between the office building and the outside grassy area with the people on it and the bridge in the background. Together with my statement to myself that I wanted to have a lucid dream before falling to sleep got me into a successful lucid dream; even being sick and on medicine.

Sadly the medicine might have had an effect on things though, which might have sabotaged me there in the end and maybe even have had something to do with the frogs, and other sudden shifts in the dream scene. Since I have not had too many lucid dreams I have no idea if these shifts and oddities are normal or not. Or perhaps it was the fact that I was sick to begin with that caused problems, as the only reason I woke up was the fact that my throat was scratchy and I awoke to coughing.

Floating is getting a little better, than in my first two lucid dreams I had but only when I go about it slow and methodical. All in all I'm still VERY clumsy with it as a mode of transportation. Flying is even worse. Not sure if this is because of lack of practice, not knowing what I need to be doing to make it work, or if it's because I have a fear of heights and falling and don't like going anywhere in fast speeds in real life. I'd love to eventually ask some other dreamers about this if it's normal or if that's because of my fears in waking life.

Manifesting is getting much better, as long as I don't close my eyes when hovering and flying around. Using the time lapse technique helped a lot. More than I would have thought. Also learning that things can be created and changed before your eyes helps too, in a way this forced me to suspending the thought of impossibility in that matter. All in all it was odd that I thought of them out of the blue, because I never heard anyone mention these two techniques in the dream forums. I do know, learning to pay attention to subtle things is VERY helpful in lucid dreaming, so the techniques that make you pay attention to little things will be practiced much more by me over the next few weeks. I had an incredible amount of knowledge from my waking life, including knowing to stay calm, and that frogs on a bridge should not be there and a number of other things. This was not the case in my other two lucid dreams I had before; so I do think there is a degree of awareness that can be different from dream to dream. Control was a little harder though than in my first dream, but about as tricky as in my second one; but then again I was trying to make more things happen at once and they were a little harder than merely manifesting some food and eating it.

I have also no idea how long I was lucid, but it felt like a nice long dream; not as short as the other two I had. This one may have lasted five to ten minutes, maybe even longer. Making it through a shift in dream scene was pretty impressive too, as in the other ones I never made it through a shift. I either woke up or I shifted and lost lucidity. This was also the one I felt I was the most lucid, remembering even little details from real life and ending up having the most control in the dream scene what I wanted to do. Still not perfect though, there is still more room for improvement.

All in all I cannot believe that I actually created flowers. From scratch. THAT WAS WAY COOL. Though frog covered bridges.... well .... uhmm, no thanks. I'll blame that one on the yquil, which I'm quite sensitive to even hours after the fact. Can't wait to try more.

      HayaH ---

PS: After reading more it seems I did a DEILD chaining method I did not even know existed. Way cool. Was also cool to find out that control is normally not easy for newbies and that I was not the only one walking around my dreams saying things I wanted to happen out loud before attempting them. I can tell I'm gonna have lots of fun with this once I get better at it.

      "With Friends Like These..."

      http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/onei...e-these-30065/
I was with a group of old friends, and a couple of people I don't recognize. I know JS and MA were there (old friends of mine - a failed couple), and it was weird to see them all buddy/buddy again. We were at someone's home, and one blonde girl in the group had been crying about something. Obviously something of a private issue, we'd gone into one of the rooms and she was telling me about what was going on, while I tried to console her. She leaned into me and I put an arm around her, just as some of our friends appeared in the doorway. Suddenly, one of the other girls in the group (though I can't remember who) seemed to get really jealous of the (completely innocent) attention I was giving this girl. She said something under her breath, like "oh, she's good..." turned around and walked off.

Later, we were all in some enormous mansion. Walking around, exploring the place, I had become slightly lucid. I specifically remember telling a couple of the girls to remember that this was a dream, in the off chance that they would remind me, should I forget. After some time, we found out that there were these huge guys in black coats walking around this mansion, who looked like Mr. X from the Resident Evil series. They were lumbering juggernauts, and were kind of creepy, in the way they just wandered about aimlessly. I ended up getting into a fight with one of them, in a hallway, where I did something of a 'fade-away' Hadouken blast, turning around while in motion and sliding backward, away from the monster, while shooting the beam of blue energy at him. While doing this, I happened to notice that I could see my reflection in the metal face of one of the double doors I'd just dashed through, surrounded by blue light as a fired away at him. I remember thinking about how it was such an amazing little detail that my mind threw in there.

After doing some more exploring, it was revealed that this mansion was owned by a coven of vampires, who were attacking us around every other corner. I remember a small vampire boy biting me on the hand, but I sort of 'fortified' my hand by will, causing him to be unable to penetrate my skin with his fangs. A few more skirmishes followed, which I was handling without too much trouble, but I began to notice that the people in my group were starting to come up missing, one by one. Soon, it was just me. Curious as to just what might have happened to everyone, I set out on a search for them, eventually losing my lucidity.

There was some kind of transition here, and I felt like I was just coming back to the mansion, after some extended period. The entire house was now covered in ice and snow. Some rooms and wings were completely shut off, as if it hadn't been lived in for decades. I was still searching for my friends, though, climbing through these icy corridors and removing blockades from places where it seemed no one had tread for ages.

Finally, I walked into a large courtyard of sorts, enclosed in glass - something between an 'inside' and an 'outside' type of room, if that makes any sense - kind of an upscale back patio. It was very elegant, as was everything else in the mansion, and looked like it might be some aristocrat's den - There was well over a dozen vampires in here, and they were all just milling about, doing their own thing. A few of the males were sparring, and I then looked over toward a set of tables and chairs, seeing some of the females lounging around in white bathrobes. This looked more like a resort than a coven of vampires. It was then that I noticed that I recognized some of the females. They were the missing girls from my group. They seemed to recognize me at the same time. Immediately, I was lucid again, and I walked over to them, getting a few less-then-welcome glares from some of the other vamps in the room. The girls sauntered sexily up to me, smiling invitingly. They began telling me about great their new vamp lifestyles were, trying to seduce me into becoming 'one of them.' Even though I was aware that I was dreaming, I couldn't help but feel betrayed by them, as I had been really enjoying their company, earlier in the dream, and they'd just left me to search for them by myself. They tried to put me on a guilt trip for declining their offer to stay there with them as a vampire, but I told them that they were the ones at fault, for choosing to stay behind, and that I was gonna just go my own way for the rest of the dream. (Funny that, even though I was aware that it was a dream, I felt so betrayed by their having been lounging around here with the vamps while I wasted half of my dream searching for them. Lol.)

Inevitably, as these girls began to make me out to be the bad guy in this, the other vamps began circling in around me. Finally, the head vampire gave the order to have me killed. An enormous, absolutely insane fight ensued, where I took on this entire courtyard of vampires at once. (The action felt a lot like in the game Arkham Asylum, which I had been playing lately.) Everyone was basically just coming in at once and I had to pull off sick combos to take them all out, moving from opponent to opponent fluidly, cutting through their numbers so quick that they barely had time to gain any sort of upper-hand. During the fight, while near the large fireplace at the head of the room, I caught sight of a small box sitting atop the mantle. Showing a little ingenuity, I stuck my hand in the box, willing it to contain a bunch of stakes and other weapons, which I immediately used in battle, taking out the gang of undead attackers and causing the head vampire to finally take his shot against me. This dude was huge (and reminded me of Kingpin from the Daredevil movie). He swooped in toward me and, in a defensive reflex, I manifested a pistol into my hand, barely having enough time to swing the barrel up and shoot him in the leg, before he was standing directly in front of me. The shot obviously did nothing to him, and I was actually somewhat emboldened by his resilience. I remember muttering something to him like "Oh...a tough guy, eh?" We then had a short hand-to-hand battle. I don't remember much of it, but I know that I completely out-classed him. The very last thing I remember from the fight is grabbing him by the back of the head and shoving his face into the glass enclosure around the room, spider-webbing the glass with a loud crack. I don't remember actually killing him, though.

The girls had stayed out of the fight, but were still obviously pissed at me. I was more than satisfied with the dream, though, and fearing I would forget many of the details, I told them that I was leaving them to go back to the real world, and that they could just stay 'down here' and be pissed, for all I care, traitorous bitches that they were. Lol.

The very last thing I recall was looking out into the night, through the glass wall, and seeing some underwater lights moving around in a pond or pool, just outside, as if there were two people scuba-diving, out there in the winter cold. I then woke myself up.

      "This is a Raid!"

I was hanging out with a bunch of people, in someone's living room. My daughter CJ was there, and we were all just kind of sitting around watching TV. All of a sudden, some girls came into the house/apartment and blurted out [At work. Censored for Now] My kid perks up and says "really??" as if she was so excited about what she was about to witness. Later, I was with CJ (who was now a bit older than she is now) and she was driving us around in a car. While she was driving, I was explaining to her - for some reason - what a police raid is. (It's been a topic around Extended Discussion, lately.) I was telling her how a raid was, put simply, when the police barge into your house without warning. I don't remember whether or not I actually elaborated on this, but I figure she only focused on that one concept.

So, having this fresh 'understanding' of what a raid was - and once we pulled back up to the friend's house, where we once were - CJ slammed on the gas and crashed the car directly through the outer wall and into the person's dining/living room area. Needless to say, I was mortified, though she, completely unfazed by the crash, suddenly yelled out to everyone in the house, "THIS IS A RAID! HAHAHAHAHA!" as if infinitely proud of herself at having so quickly applied her new knowledge of what a raid was.

      Lol. Kids...

      Dream Fragment One
I was ghost hunting with some chick. We'd begun the hunt during a non-lucid portion of the dream, but I ended up becoming slightly lucid after realizing we were searching for ghosts. I didn't really choose to interfere with the narrative at all, and we just continued looking around for any ghosts that might be in the area. On the street of some unknown neighborhood, I'd thought I'd caught a glimpse of some sort of bright apparition, reflected in the metal surface of the trunk of a nearby car, but I didn't really see anything else around us. I figured it to just be the reflection of the moon, but didn't spend too much time confirming it.

      Dream Fragment Two
I was discussing the previous dream on the forum, and Omnis Dei (whom had been participating in the raid conversation, in ED) had commented on it. I can't remember his comment, though.

      Dream Three
      "Deady's Little Girl"

I was on an upper floor of an old apartment building and happened to be looking out of a window, when I saw a woman in a compact car getting her vehicle flipped by an angry mob. Once the vehicle was turning over onto its roof, I could see that there were also kids in the car, and they were terrified. Immediately, I ran downstairs. I don't remember much of the actual confrontation with the crowd, but I was able to reason them into leaving the woman and her children alone, and they ended up dispersing. While they were clearing out, I began helping the woman and her 2 children out of the overturned car. She had a little boy and girl - the boy being the younger of the two, at the age of maybe 2 years old. He was just the sweetest kid. We'd gotten along really well, within the first few moments of my meeting him. Sometimes, he'd just come up to me and hug around my legs. The mother, who was maybe in her early 40's, was quite attractive, and very thankful for my help. She had short, black hair, and a bit of a 'punk' kind of look to her, and it was easy to see that there was at least some level of mutual attraction there. I asked her if she wanted to go and grab something to eat sometime, if for no other reason than that she seemed like someone I'd like to get to know.

Later, after we'd gone out for food, we ended up back at her apartment. It wasn't long before we started fooling around and [Censored for now]. Eventually, I was just not able to ignore it, and I told her that I had to stop, before we'd even really gotten down to business. I didn't really go into detail as to why, not wanting to hurt her feelings. She was noticeably upset, but ultimately seemed to understand. Her father, on the other hand - whom I met later in the dream - well...he wasn't quite so understanding...

Apparently, her father was some kind of immortal, invincible being. On the outside, he looked like your typical, southern-ish old man. (Kind of reminded me of Abraham Whistler, from the Blade movies.) He'd caught wind of the fact that I'd refused to sleep with his daughter, and was soon Hell-bent on causing me major bodily harm. This 'man' spent the rest of the dream hunting me down and trying to kill me, often brutally murdering anyone that I'd recently associated with, in order to pick up a trail that would lead him to me. Every now and then, he would track me down, and we'd square off. I actually ended up killing him at least 4 times, throughout the course of the dream, but the bastard just kept coming back. This was quickly turning into a slasher flick type of scenario, and no matter how I would get away from this guy, he would just keep on coming for me. There was one moment when I was being stalked through a school or something like that. I'd grabbed some sort of weapon and was about to kill the man again, when I realized that it was the police that were following me this time. I'd almost killed them, by accident, because I was so rattled. They told me they'd heard something about the situation and were coming to investigate. However, while I was talking to them, the chick's old man popped up suddenly, and completely mutilated them both, right in front of me - carving them up in gruesome fashion. I believe I bolted, after that. After a little more cat-and-mouse, I remember one more confrontation with him, where we in the back of his pick-up truck (which was somehow stretched into an RV-like structure, with four walls and a ceiling). We'd gotten into another fight, and I had begun slipping in and out of lucidity, by this time. Feeling much less threatened by him, I attempted a few 'Hadouken' fireballs on him, but was not able to manifest a single one. Then, still having the upper-hand, I pushed him into into some sort of industrial shredder that he had inside his vehicle, painting one wall with his crimson remains. There was literally nothing left of him that could be identified.

Having slipped out of lucidity again, and wondering if I'd actually managed to get rid of him, I made my way to the woman's apartment; where she and her kids had been, throughout the whole ordeal with her father. Despite our earlier 'problem', there was still a level of friendship between us. When I got there, though, instead of being happy to see me, like her kids had been, before this, there was an almost palpable hostility in the air. Somehow, they had gotten word that I had 'killed' the grandfather. Out of nowhere, the - once sweet and affectionate - little boy comes running up to me and bites me on the hand. Hard. I drew my had back and looked toward her other kids. She had three this time, instead of two, the third of which was an older, teenage daughter. All three were giving me a look that I could see was the spitting image of their grandfather's evil glare. But, where her younger children didn't seem to pose all that much of a threat, it was the teenage daughter in whom I could see an explicitly dangerous level of rage building, though she remained silent...just staring at me. It was then that I knew he was somehow 'influencing them', from beyond - possessing them, somewhat, in order to carry out his revenge. The mother was also visibly hostile, though not on the level of the children. As I pleaded with her to let me explain the craziness that I had just been dealing with, she insisted that it was best for me to leave and take my daughter (who was now with me, for some reason), because I was upsetting her children. On one hand, I could see that she didn't really want me to leave, but with the tension the way it was, she seemed to be demanding as if she had no other choice. Feeling more than a little dejected, I left the apartment.

After walking downstairs, I noticed her father's pick-up truck in the parking lot. Inside, was the man himself - fully whole - and he smiled evily while getting out of the truck and walking in my direction. By now, I felt completely defeated. I knew that he was just going to keep tracking me, no matter how many times I killed him. There was some stranger nearby, and I started raving about how I'd chopped the old man up, and how he kept coming back to life. The stranger just said "no, man...no...." and shook his head at me like I was losing my marbles. Again, I turned to face the woman's father. He had a bottle in his hand, with a cloth sticking out of the top of it - a molotov cocktail. For a moment, we just stared at each other, him with this smug look of victory on his face. About here, my lucidity began coming back, and really the first thing that I was thinking about was just waking myself up from this horrible dreams. In the middle of my train of thought, though, and without actually lighting it first, the old man suddenly chucked the bottle directly at my head. Almost instinctively, I focused on a bit of telekinesis and pretty much 'force-pushed' the unlit molotov directly back at him, accompanied by a wave of my hand. Before I got to see if it actually hit him or not, I woke up.

      A lesson in Dream Control

I am seeing my wife inside a dream, somehow I am communicating with her and teaching her how to control the dream. She needs to into the gates of heaven but the gates are locked. Standing next to the gates is a creepy looking character, not sure if he is an alien or monster - he has a ridiculously large grin and sort of floppy antennae instead of ears. He is wrinkled and a sort of grey color, not sure what he is doing there though! 14. A short lucid

It was a normal dream at first, it was winter and I was flying, then realized that flying = impossible and did a reality check -> turned lucid.

I spent it testing and practising my level of dream control. I telepathically lifted a wooden house into the air by pointing my hand at it and then smashed it down 50 metres further and it turned into splinters. Did it while floating in the air. Multitasking!

And then had a false awakening, forgot to do an RC and went off to tell my buddies on Steam that I had a lucid, then woke up for real.

Many peoples were chasing us .I don't know who are they.I come to a strange place, trees, grass all over the place, in the middle was a pond but it was very shallow and gravels were there at surface. Its like we all are looking for something in the shallow pond. Then i thought this must be real world(although it wasn't)That point i get semi lucid.I didn't even did a reality check. The place was dark.So i shouted clarity now two three times and it is getting brighter.I am trying a rise sun and i did but sun is not bright. As i was trying to make sun brighter sun fell down and it was a blue sphere of same size as it appear in the sky.I am making the sun to fly into the sun but it keep in falling down evetually i lose the lucidity and woke up.
