1. Physics Exam

by , 10-20-2014 at 12:10 AM
Non-Dream Dream

Dream 1: I am running to my final exam up a hill through huge doors into the physics department. Then I run down some hills jumping like crazing yelling info about the exam to people behind me (cheating). I'm not doing well but I don't seem to care. So much more buy I dont remember - I think my dad was there too.

Dream 2: I am in an airplane.

Dream 3: I am driving to work for the big layoff meeting.

Dream 4: My bowling alley has an incredible daycare facility.

Thursday night:
2 entire dreams recalled= 2 pts.
1 fragment recalled= .5 pt.
successful WBTB = 3 pts.
Lucid = 5 pts.
successfu RC = 1

Night points= 11.5
New total 39 + 11.5 = 50.5

Lucid dream follows:

I am climbing a very tall, tightly spiraled staircase with my wife and several other people. It is metal and painted an brown-beige color, as are the walls of the space it occupies. I ask one of the other people how far we have to climb and he replies "25 stories." we climb and reach the top. The staircase ends on a large outdoor stone platform. It is very sunny out. The platform is raised and there is a large set of stone stairs leading up to it. The area surrounding the platform is like a beautiful park. The grass is green and there are gentle hills. There are large mature trees scattered around. I get stuck exiting the staircase in some of the metal structure. I get myself free and go down the steps into the grassy area. I see my wife ahead, there is sun shining on her and she looks amazingly beautiful (just like in real life). Something about the scenery gives me pause. I jump and notice that gravity seems weak. I strongly suspect that I am dreaming. I jump again and this time I do an amazing straight legged backflip. landing, I am sure I am dreaming. I call out to my wife "I am dreaming, this is all a dream!' she does not reply. I look at the sky and it is the most amazing deep blue with fractal-like wispy clouds. I remember to stabilize and try to rub my hands together. too late, the dream ends.

3. 1/24/14 - tribal tyrant

by , 01-24-2014 at 09:35 PM (Leaving the matrix)
I'm and african man in this drream, i'm sitting next to some other tribes people. It looks like we are in africa. The tribes leader comes to the crow infuriated and says he wants me and my friend dead, so me and the man run. This pisses the tribe leader off and he gets on this canopy covered machine that sways when it walks, and he chases us with it. We hide in a group and he can't see us, he never really got a good look at us to begin with. Now he's using this huge flame thrower and burning everyone who won't move, everyone in his path. I see people trying to climb a fence but getting burned down and so we all run towards the swamp where the trees and rocks are. we all gather there because we can't cross it because there are alligators in there and the green crap on top you can't see where they are. Then the tribe leader comes and decides to make a game of it, he forces us one by one to run jump or swim across the swamp, so he pushes the first man, and he makes it even though and alligator jumped at him and almost got him. This infuriates the tribe leader. Then he sends this woman to go, she jumps but then falls in and swim's fast enough but gets bit on the back of her neck. The tribe l;leader laughs at her. Then he sends a rather skinny fellow, her tries to jump from rock to rock but and alligator trips him with its tail and he falls in head first and he never comes back up after we see a struggle and alligator tails flailing, we all hang our heads in sorrow while the tribe leader laughs even louder. Now he sends me, I try to run across as fast as possible but then I fall into a very deep part of the swamp and I struggle to swim I know the gators are every where but someone drags me out from the other side and I hear the tribe leader scream in anger, then I run some more to get away from the swamp I feel the gators will come out and get me.
4. Someone chasing me

by , 12-06-2013 at 02:27 PM
Dream 1 :I run from someone that chases me. I get into a train station and when I try to cross it I see a train(A grey one) that comes. I keep jumping around there and wait for the train to go away. The train comes and it is HUUUUGE. Then an earthquake happens and that's all I remember.
Dream 2 : Something about a girl saying that I don't know what couple took I don't know what pills and that they're working hard to make a baby now.
Dream 3 : Just me getting ready for school. I see new socks in the drawer so I wonder how they got there and then I was like : Probably I bought them yesterday and I forgot.
5. Monsters trying to get in my apartament/ Something like lucid dream

by , 08-31-2013 at 08:47 PM
Fragment I
First I dreamed about being on a competition with chopping wood and then carrying it to the finish point. I remember that a friend of mine was there, too. We are laughing while we are carrying the wood.

Fragment II
I think I'm running from some monsters and then being in an apartment. These monsters are trying to get in and I must consolidate the front door to win. It is like a game. I have a success and then I see a big green tick in front of me. It really is like a game! But then a girl with horns break through the door and I fail in defending myself.

Last fragment
I wake up and stay for couple of minutes and then fall asleep, again. I find myself in a dream while knowing that this is a dream, but still not changing the dream scenario. Running along a street, then turning around and jumping on the top of a house, that is on the right side of the road. I get off the house, then find myself on beach. I say to myself that when I go into the water I will obtain full control of the dream scenario, I jump in the water and then I remember being on the beach again, but with two naked girls and then... POOF! - The dream is gone
6. 11th April 2013 Video games, Deathtrap dungeon, Jumping

by , 04-11-2013 at 07:36 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream 1(fragment):

I recall some kind of outdoor area.

Dream 2:

I was at home playing some video game and making slow progress through it, then i went to sleep but was having trouble falling asleep because family was watching some movies in my room for whatever reason. Apparently alot of time passed and there was pile of used tires in the room, i went outside.
I was searching some information around the streets, and after a while i went back to home, as i got home everything turned into something looking like a level from Deathtrap Dungeon and had to do a bunch of long jumps.
Then i was back at home but it was weirdly designed and there was more jumping to do, but i couldn't jump anymore and had to find alternate way around. Soon the dream ended.
7. 19th Feb 2013 YouTube update, almost DILD, an Adventure game

by , 02-19-2013 at 09:29 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Was pretty close to DILD.

Dream 1:

I was watching something on YouTube and it suddenly stopped working. I refreshed the page and there was an update notice, looking through the only change was the removal of mechanism that saves position in video on closing the tab, and the change was made for some really stupid reason(but i can't recall what exactly). Also for some reason it mentions that YouTube account with the name of one of my alternative internet nicknames is getting pretty popular.
Suddenly i wake up in the bed, my body seems to be rather screwed up in weird way for some reason, so i start thinking that something's not right, but as soon as i try to do an RC, dream ends and i wake up.

Looking that it's a bit too early i memorize recall and go back to sleep.

Dream 2:

This dream was pretty long, consisting of playing some adventuring video game with top-down view and searching for some 'mysterious information' as i called it in dream, i don't recall much else about first half of it. I recall wandering player character around some forest area, it was more of a forest maze than normal forest, also it looked more autumn-like. I found some of 'mysterious information' and it was saying something about Game Maker files and something else i don't remember.
After that there was another area full of giant mantises and i had to move player character to avoid them. I was having hard time mostly because area had really bizarre collision detection problems up to possibility of moving character to the outside of area without actually leaving the area. Mantises were randomly spawning everywhere though, but after a few restarts i eventually found the right way.
Suddenly i was in the game by myself and the game itself is now 3D as well. I was in some canyon with some military bunkers. Seems like i am being instead of player character and an actual player is giving me hints through some radio device. He says to look for a cave. I go around the canyon and notice that bunkers have stationary rocket launchers in them. I decide to play around a bit and use rocket launcher to blow up another bunker. The explosion sound reminds me of half-life. Shortly i get annoying by 'player' on why i am not searching for cave, so i say 'fine' and i shortly find the cave.
It is very dark in there, but i have no problem navigating through. It gets very mazey from this point and there seems to be alot of 'walk through' walls, also it starts somewhat resembling a tomb of sorts. Soon i end up in an area where the only path through is to jump between masses of sand that float over the void. As i jump onto one of those masses, it starts slowly falling. I had no problems with jumping for a while, gone halfway through area, but there seems to be pretty long distance for the next jump. I almost fail it, but i notice another mass of sand that is a bit lower and i manage to change direction mid-jump right enough to grab onto that mass. I get onto it, and some jumps later i am on the other side of the area, dream ends shortly.

Either way, my recall seems to be back once again!
8. It's been a long time. Today I woke up and decided to start journaling again.

by , 01-28-2013 at 08:27 PM
I can only remember fragments from my dreams last night.

I remember running and leaping across a vast chasm. It was as easy as jumping over a puddle. I remember thinking that leaping across great distances in that way couldn't be humanly possible, yet I had done it anyway.

I often dream that I am in a reimagined version of the school grounds I spent time in as a child. I dreamt I was laying out under the stars near the edge of the rows of trees that lined the edge of the gravel field. Suddenly, clouds rolled in and the rain came down, wetting my skin and soaking into the soil around me.
9. Lucid Dream: Jumping Rooftops

by , 01-28-2013 at 04:15 PM
Lucid Dream:

I suddenly woke up. I was in my side yard. I was really surprised since I had no memory of falling asleep there. I felt really confused for a few seconds before it hit me that I was dreaming.

As soon as I realized that this was a dream I jumped up and started to fly. I looked down on the rooftop of the houses that were supposedly my neighborhood. Seeing the rooftops made me remember that I had wanted to jump from roof to roof. I remembered that being more fun in some ways than just flying. So I flew down to the first rooftop and ran across it and sprang up in the air twords the next house. At first I thought I over shot it, but I landed on the far side. I ran a step or two and jumped off toward the next house. I remember enjoying that feeling of up and down and speed. After about 5 or 6 houses I woke up.
10. 01/27/13 Sleep (2 + 1 LD) 2:00AM - 8:00AM

by , 01-27-2013 at 03:03 PM (Graham's DJ)
The first dream I remember having involved me driving down the road on a single-track road. I looked to my left and saw 2 cats, one on either side of a gateway, perched on columns, both staring at me oddly. I looked back to the road and saw a cat about 10 ft in front of my left tire. No time to steer avoid it, I just hoped that I wouldn't hit it. As it came closer, I clenched up as I felt a thud... I heard the cats on the columns (and others, I assume) meowing loudly, almost angrily, when I saw fourth cat about 300 ft ahead jump into the air and sort of divebomb toward my windshield. I was scared for what was about to happen and as the cat came closer, I realized: "Holy shit, cats don't fly.." I went lucid. Unfortunately I don't remember much of the dream from the time I went lucid. I just remember the cat disappearing out of the sky, and that really familiar feeling that comes with lucidity in a dream. Shortly after, I was no longer in my car, and I remember jumping over a building (I usually attempt to fly in my few lucid dreams, but usually end up jumping really high and landing). At some point I believe I lost lucidity, because I don't really remember much else.

In my next dream, I was meeting my father at one of his friend's houses, I believe. I don't remember why he came up (He lives about 3 and a half hours away from where I'm staying now), but he had in his possession a bag of cocaine, which he was debating on letting me have for the longest time. This is completely out of character for him, as it's an old habit that he has long since kicked, and something he doesn't want to happen to me. He ended up giving me the bag, which I figured was a little more than a quarter-ounce of coke (about 7 grams, which is a lot of $$$). I remember him getting mad at me for even accepting it, because he knew I was going to sell it, and disappointed that I even knew people that I could get it off to. I remember putting it in a secret pocket in one of my hoodies and eventually leaving (there was a lot more conversation I don't remember, but unimportant).

There was a time-lapse which I'm not sure if I should consider a separate dream, or whether it was even related to the last, but I ended up at my mom's apartment (where I currently reside). When I open the door and come in, she comes from her room to greet me, and I can almost immediately tell that something is wrong with her. She's drunk, and it's extremely unsettling because she's been almost 3 years sober now and I didn't think she was on the road to relapse. After exchanging some words with her, I see some middle-aged dude emerge from her room and I stop talking to her, since she's not saying anything important due to her intoxication. I immediately ask, "Who the fuck are you?" and he said he was her friend. After a short interrogation, I came to the conclusion that she recently met him and he pretty much brought wine over, not knowing she was a recovering alcoholic. I told him to get the fuck out my house or I'd be forced to call the cops, and he told me something like since it was her apartment, he wasn't going to leave unless she said so. The next thing I remember about the dream was the most unsettling. I'm not sure how it got there, or why, but there was a katana in place of where my guitar usually sat propped against the wall. I told hold of it, and threatened his life unless he left the place immediately. He taunted me, saying the sword was probably dull. For some reason, he picked up a pillow off the couch and I took a slash at it, cutting it cleanly into two. His face, I remember, was priceless. He was scared out of his fucking mind, and that's about all I remember before waking up.

The last two dreams I'll classify as nightmares. Both of my parents have a long history with drugs and alcohol, and it isn't coincidence that they both relapsed simultaneously. I think it's a deeper fear of mine, because I care a lot of both of them, and I know what would happen (especially with my mother) if they did. My dad I wasn't too worried about, because I'm pretty sure he can handle himself. Plus, the fact that he just gave me 7~9 grams of coke is pretty cool, because that can fetch a pretty penny nowadays. Looking at the dream involving my mom, I was really surprised that I was so protective of her, to the point of threatening another person's life. My mom told me after I woke up, that she heard me in the middle of the night. It's been awhile since I've had a nightmare this realistic, as most of the time it's something that doesn't really have a strong possibility of happening, and for that matter, doesn't seem so real. I was legitimately scared for my mother's life here, and I think that's what drove me to the point I was at when I was ready to take that guy's life in her defense.

I had trouble falling asleep that night before dreaming. I'm sick right now, which has a lot to do with it, but I used the mantra: "I will have lucid dreams tonight" repeated about 150 times before I quit counting, just trying to keep dreaming in my mind before falling asleep. I remember trying to picture something specific as well, which was originally a giant horse*** (big enough to step on buildings), which eventually morphed into a giant cat. This may have some relation to my first dream involving cats, but I can't be sure.

***I figured trying to picture something completely unrealistic and keeping it in my mind before going to sleep might trigger that thought manifesting itself in my dreams. I figured a horse the size of king-kong is something you don't see everyday, and should immediately tell me that I'm dreaming if I were to see one. The horse ended up becoming a cat as I lost focus while succumbing to sleep, and it's possible that it did have wings; like the cat that triggered my lucid. I can't recall at this point. I'm not sure if this is a common method for triggering a lucid dream, but it's something that seems to give me results and will continue to keep trying as I document my results in my DJ

11. LD: Dream Flips, Rescuing Animals, Jumping Rooftops

by , 10-15-2012 at 10:12 PM
8-25-08

When I woke up early this morning I didn't remember any dreams. I had a chance, though, to do a WBTB. As I laid back in bed I had 40 mintues to go to sleep and dream before I had to get back up. I thought about trying a WILD, but I knew that it would increase the chance of not getting back to sleep at all. I knew that I had pretty good luck at drifting off and becoming lucid not too far into the dream.

I had decided that if I got lucid I would try three things. First, do dream flips. Second, I would try to find a character from my story. Third, I would try to jump from rooftop to rooftop.

Lucid dream:

My first memory in the dream was free falling. I was with two cartoon characters (more realistic ones). One was a lady and the other a younger girl. We were in a city and falling down toward the ground. I must have been remembering how much fun it was in the last LD, because this was very similar. Though I wasn't lucid, it was a very familiar experience. It is a wonderfully good feeling rush.

I don't know what triggered lucidty, but when I realized I was dreaming I was in an apartment building. I was standing in the kitchen. I immediately remembered that I wanted to do the flips. So I started jumping in the air and flipping. I tried to really pay attention to what it was like. I remember seeing the room spin in my vision. I don't remember ever noticing what it looked like before--I had just noticed how good they felt. I started with back flips, then switched to front flips. For the last one I noticed I got too close to the wall. I was afraid that I would bump right into it. But then I decided that since this was just a dream that I didn't actually have to bump into anything if I didn't want to. I completed the flip and saw that the wall was further away that in had been.

When I felt I had done enough I decided to walk into the next room to see if I could find the story character that I was looking for. It was a bedroom. The bed was half unmade and had white covers. And it was empty. I looked around the room and saw no one. There was a window. I walked to it and looked out. I was high above the ground--at least twenty stories up. The window swung open sideways, and I leaned out. I decided to go out. As I was sliding myself through the opening, I suddenly wondered if I was actually dreaming because this felt too real. But part of me knew that if this was real life I never would have gotten this far since I get nervous being really high like this. I continued to let myself slip over the edge. I fell breifly before starting to fly. I flew out and above the city for a little while. Then I swooped down and landed in a plaza area.

A man with long (to the middle of his back) blond hair came up to me. He was excited to see some one who could fly. He told me that he also knew how to fly and asked if he could come with me. I said, "Sure."

At the edge of the plaza there was a large drop off, as if the city were build on two levels and we had been on the upper level. As we went over the edge, I looked over and saw that the guy could indeed fly too. I was glad.

We flew over what looked like a zoo. The man pointed down and pointed out that the animals had escaped. He thought that since we had these cool special abilities that we should help try to get them in. I wasn't sure that I wanted to take the time in my LD to do something like that. But I decided that it might be an adventure.

I landed and saw a young black jaguar. I picked it up and started carrying it to one of the buildings. Pretty soon the jaguar's claws were really poking into my neck. I decided that I didn't want to do this anymore. I set it down and another girl came and picked it up. I looked around for the other guy and couldn't find him. So I decided to go on to another challenge.

I remembered that I had wanted to jump from rooftop to rooftop. There were buildings around. None were very tall buildings (maybe two story), but I wanted to try anyway. I flew up and landed on the first roof. I ran along the top of the roof to the end. I could see the next building maybe 30 yards away. I got the the edge of the roof and pushed off. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I knew I could fly, but I was purposely trying not to fly, but just to jump. I easily landed on the next roof. I ran and pushed off again to the next building. The buildings were in a large semi circle (about 8 buildings). I ran and jumped until I came to the end, and then I jumped to the ground. I really enjoyed the experience. I especially liked the feeling of pushing off. I realized this was something I would have to do again and again.

I was about to think of something else to do when I woke up. I looked at the clock and it was 16 minutes past the last time I had looked at it before I had fallen asleep. I tried to go back to sleep since I had a little time left, but never managed to dream again.

12. Instant Lucid Dream when you whine

by , 09-19-2012 at 07:56 PM (Cinder's Dreams Gallery)
Okay.
I whined about dry spells yesterday, then I had another brief lucid.
The differences is that I didn't wake up right away and I already knew I was in a dream before I fully went lucid.
The same is that I forgot to stabilize, goddamnit.

I was on the Cave Story Tribute forum. I receive a message from one of the members saying that my signature is against the rule. For some reasons my signature have a Futurama picture. Have I mentioned that I am sitting in the room that I physically sleep while I had the dream? The only difference is that it is now on the middle of a city.

Then my computer acted up, but I managed to close it down. I noticed the light was on for the first time. Then I saw my reflections on the screen and realized that the clothes didn't match up (I wore a Hawaiian shirt), so I became partially lucid. My roommate woke up, which meant a DC added to the equation. He asked me something and I intentionally allowed myself to say something very idiotic, which satisfied him and he went back to sleep. I realized I can't actually speak, and I tried to utter something until I could. Then I did the nose plug and it seemed weird, but I don't really know. I walked out the dorm and counted my fingers, and found out my left hand has extra fingers.

There was another door in front of me, and when I opened it it lead to the outside. There are roads on the left and a power plant in front of me. I jumped down from the fire escape stairway I was standing on. I tried to jump over the fence but it was too tall. Then I tried to find a way around it but I woke up first. Then it dawned on me I forgot to stabilize. Argh.

13. LD: Flying fish, flying, jumping rooftops

by , 07-24-2012 at 03:14 PM
I had another LD a few days ago.

I was in a room with all these fish tanks. I noticed a tank sitting on what seemed like my bed, the water and fish were spilling out becasue it wasn't level. I scrambled to pick up all the fish I could find.

The dream went on like this for a while. I kept trying to pick up fish that had jumped or spilled out of their tanks. At one point I reached my hand in a smal tank with baby fish. They all started sticking to my hand like little leaches. i tried to get them off and back into the water, but some of them smeared. It was stressful.

I also remember picking up a dogfaced pufferfish off the floor. I remembered thining that it was odd that I had a pufferfish since they were salt water fish and I had only fresh water tanks.

And then I noticed all the fish "swimming" in the air.

This was the thing that finally made my question my state. It only took a second to realize that this was a dream. Of course at that point I wondered why it took so long to figure it out.

Suddenly I was with Carl so I took him flying. I noticed how vivid the wind and motion of flying felt. We were at my grandparents house. I also wanted to jump from rooftop to rooftop like I had in the past, but I didn't have very good luck. I remember flying towards my grandparent's neighbors roof, but I don't think I got to any other roofs. I'll have to keep trying that one. When I did it in the past it was so exhilerating...possibly better than flying.

Lucid dream #3
DILD

Blah, blah, blah.... doing whatever, talking to his one guy, noseplug...
Breathe?
"Hang on a second."
Shove fist into brick wall.
Look at dude with expression that says "Oh, I was talking to you? Too bad. See 'ya!"

Oh, yeah.

The rest of my lucid I used to test dream powers, including long- and high-jumping (no flying yet), punching through things, making people believe me/making them go with the situation, and...

something else I forgot about.

Oh, materialization! I made myself a ring that I'll wear only when I'm lucid. That way, It'll be harder for me to forget lucidity within my dreams!

Anyways, some of the dream took place at my old Church building, where I would jump through the ceiling to get to the next floor.
I woke up right after a segment that had me talking to some Stryper fans. T-shirts, and all, they obviously loved the band. One thing about them, though, was the logo on the shirts. Three of them were shirts for the "Reborn" album, a couple I don't remember, but two or three were for some album that doesn't really exist.
Which is a shame, 'cause it was cool album art.

The thing about this lucid dream that puzzles me is that my recall of it is just as hazy as ever. Go figure.

The thing about this lucid dream that I absolutely LOVE is that I actually had the time and took the opportunity to just go wild.
I PUNCHED A DENT INTO A FREAKING BRICK WALL.

Oh, and jumping twenty or thirty feet across a street was sweet, too.

Now, if you'll excuse me while I go and WILD...`

dream : comments : lucid
21st of June, 2012

My recall's been really bad lately, for some reason. This is a tiny almost lucid I had this morning.

I was with Nooks and some other people in a forested hill area. It was winter and the trees had mostly lost their leaves. I realised that there was a UFO following the people, who began to run away together. I said to Nooks that it would make much more sense if they split up; that way it couldn't follow them both... but it'd be gay as Hell to be the one that it DID follow.

Somehow it came to pass that Nooks and I were the ones that were being followed so we began running through the trees trying to avoid this thing and its spotlight. It was really quite horrifying. We ran for a while trying to lose it and find cover before coming across a river with huge frozen walls.

Like that, but without the glacier on top-just more hill.

Anyway, we tried to hide in the crevices and hoped that the cold water would lower our body temperatures so they couldn't detect us. Nooks started singing at that point though, so I put my hand over her mouth to shut her up. Too late.

Aliens began to abseil out of this thing (it was basically a helicopter, apparently) so we bolted while we had the chance, swimming as hard as we could to reach the bank. We ran like that for some time and eventually found ourselves near people in a large...complex of some sort. Kind of like a school/outdoor shopping mall. I looked back to see the 'alien' (read: random dude) chasing us at like 50km/h so we stepped up the pace and were running absurdly quickly. At that point we were on an indoor oval and began jumping really far to try and escape. I turned to Nooks and said "Don't worry Nooks, this is obviously just a dream now!" and kept jumping, wondering what to do next.

I'd been asleep for a while though so as soon as I realised I was dreaming I woke up.
Should've stabilised or something. Ah well, still appears my dream recognition is improving.
