    1. Breaking The Masquerade [Night of June 18-19]

by , 07-09-2011 at 06:08 AM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up post. This dream is from the night of June 18-19, and it's one of the most fascinating lucids I've had yet.]

Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm shopping at the old Toys 'R Us that we used to go to when I was a kid. [In real life, it's been closed for several years.] I've driven up there all the way from my current town, by myself, and I told my parents where I was going before I left. I've come there just to get the purple hippo stuffed animal that I saw advertised. I find it, go to a checkout stand, swipe my credit card through the card reader sitting on the floor near one of the checkouts, and then walk to the other side of the line of checkouts and get in line to check out. There's quite a long line, but it's moving fairly quickly because there are a lot of checkouts open, and all the checkers are calling people over from that one line. The line is in a rectangular, dark, warehouse-like space in the front of the store, separated from the store proper by high, dark gray metal shelf racks that reach all the way to the high ceiling. When it comes my turn to check out, the checker waves me through when I show her my toy and the receipt that was printed out of the credit card reader.

I exit the store and get into my car
[our current, brown Honda]. I examine my purple hippo. It's smaller and narrower than the teddy bear I already have [in real life], and therefore not as good a shape for use as an arm pillow, but still, it's kinda cute. I can feel that it has a plastic cup built into its nose, so that its nose holds its conical shape. I set it down on the floor of the passenger seat, start the car up, and drive out of the parking lot via the ramp behind and to the right of the store.

This ramp forces me to turn right, putting me onto a one-way street. “This is why my parents never went out this way,” I say to myself. I end up driving through a neat, clean, inviting-looking urban downtown area, with lots of modern, glass buildings, concrete parking structures, and trees on the sidewalks.

[The dream shifts.] I'm walking the darkened halls of a big, old apartment building whose halls form a continuous square. Stuff involving Muppets, a bird named Gloria, and an alarm clock happens. [This was another elaborate and plotty dream, but I don't really remember the details anymore. I don't particularly care, though, because the next part is the really awesome part.]

[The dream shifts again.] I'm out on the town, in the same cool, modern downtown I was driving around earlier, only now I'm on foot. While walking across a plaza, I see several of my friends from [$SocialClub] [an organization I belong to in real life]. I recognize that I've been in this downtown before, and am very happy to be here. Somewhere around this point, I become lucid. [As usual, I don't remember precisely at what moment I did so. It may have been that recognition that I'd been there before that triggered lucidity, but I'm not sure.] I also pass by my friends from [$Class], who are on their way to class. I think of going with them, but choose to go off by myself and explore instead.

I end up on a particular street corner where there is a restaurant with a live band playing inside. I enter the restaurant to listen to the band. The restaurant is named “Café Debussy.”
[ :gape: Whoa. That is so awesome. That's the name of the cafe where Cobb gives Ariadne her first lesson in shared dreaming in Inception. That is just so cool that I have my own version of it. I may have realized the significance of this name at that moment, or it may not have been until after I woke up, I'm not sure.]

While I'm in the restaurant, I meet and get into a conversation with a female dream character, who asks me who I am. I say the same kinds of things I would say when meeting someone for the first time in real life: that I live and work nearby, what I do, that I'm a member of [$SocialClub]. When I finish, she looks at me with an expression that shows that she's disappointed in me, and that she can see right through the baloney I'm giving her. “Who are you, really?” she asks.

I sigh and start telling her the truth.

“I'm from another world, that's not like yours,” I say. “I only come to visit here when I'm dreaming.” I stop myself short of saying that I'm dreaming all this that's around us.

As I speak, we start rising up off the ground. I'm either flying us up or causing a tower to grow up from the ground under us.
[I'm not exactly sure, but I think it was more likely the latter, because] I'm making the buildings all around us grow taller or shorter, or change shape, just by thinking about it. I'm doing this because I want to show my companion the city from up high.

“Because I'm dreaming, I can control the situation, like this,” I say. “It's fun.”
[I say a bit more that I don't remember now, and then] I end by sighing again, then saying, “So, here I am, your dreamer.” I extend my hand to shake hands with her.

      She takes it.
[Surprisingly,] The female DC reacts to what I've just told her with happiness and excitement. She leads me purposefully off in a direction across the city, apparently intending to tell others about what she has learned and introduce them to me. As we go, I realize that in all the time we've been talking, I haven't told her my name, so I say to her, “My name is [$RealFirstName].” I deliberately use the nickname by which I'm known to family and friends in real life, rather than my official, legal name, because I don't want the Fae to know my true name, because that will give them power over me. [Seriously, that's what I thought during the dream. I would never set any store by such an idea in real life.] She doesn't reply, though.

[She didn't introduce me to anyone, though. The next thing I remember,] The female DC and I have walked out to a metal, industrial-looking bridge, from which we're watching the sunset over the cityscape. I ask her, “What's your name?”

      “Darla,” she says.

I shake my head and correct her: “No, that's the name of my friend who looks like you. What's your name?” Although she looks like one of my real-life friends, I'm interested in her identity as a separate individual.

From the way she hesitates for at least 15 seconds, going “Hmmmm...” several times while looking all around her at our surroundings, it's clear that she's never thought of herself as having an individual name separate from that of her real-life counterpart before. Finally, she looks over at the setting sun and says, “Umbra.”
[She pronounces it “OOM-brah;” it means “shadow” in Latin. Hmmm. Very interesting.]

[Fragment.] Something involving roller coasters that look like snakes.

[False awakening.] I'm comparing notes with my mom about whether or not we just had the same dream about snakes.

[Different dream.] I'm on a ride that has foam seats with over-the-shoulder restraints. The seats are suspended high up in the air from an overhead track in a large building. I've somehow managed to board the ride so that I'm perched in between two seats, rather than fully seated in one of them. While the train of seats I'm on is moving to its destination, I manage to maneuver myself into one of the seats and get the restraints into place.

My train of seats arrives at its destination: directly above a gigantic aquarium tank. That's when I realize what the purpose of this ride is: to allow visitors a chance to be submerged in the tank for several minutes on end. I realize that I was supposed to bring a snorkel or scuba gear with me on this ride, but I didn't, and there's no way to get out of the restraints before I get dunked in the tank. I'm only mildly concerned about this, though.

I hold my breath and the seats descend, submerging me and everyone else several feet underwater. As soon as the seats have stopped descending, I start swimming upward, taking my seat and my restraints with me
[I think; I'm not sure]. The moment I break the surface of the water, I found myself awake. I immediately kicked myself for not realizing that I was dreaming and subsequently recalling that I can breathe underwater in dreams.

    2. 07/08/2011 - "Portals: the Search for the Dream World Academy Begins" (Dream Chain)

by , 07-09-2011 at 01:08 AM (Oneironaut Zero: Dreamwalker Chronicles)
(An amazing adventure, this morning. So I had become really interested in the new Dream World Academy concept, and wanted to give locating it in a lucid dream a shot. I wasn't really sure that I would have a lucid dream, but I got up early and had enough time to try a WBTB. With about 3 hours left to sleep, I came to the computer and browsed DV for a while, reading through the Academy thread once again. Then i lay be down and set my intention to recognize when I was dreaming. [Eidt:] By the way, I still have some journal entries to post, from the days and weeks before this, but I figured I would just start again from here, and I will post those previous dreams later.)

      07/08/2011
      Dream One (a):
"Portals: the Search for the Dream World Academy Begins" (Dream Chain)

It was night out, and I was in a type of old, harbor town, near the water. There were two teams of tactical military forces battling each other, throughout the streets, and I had been sneaking around in the dark - scrambling over rooftops and slipping through shadowy hallways - trying not to get discovered by these gunmen. At one point, I was running along the edge of a rooftop with one of the soldiers trailing behind me, wearing very modern and high-tech gear. When I came to the edge, I knew I had no choice but to try to jump for it, but I was in the air before I realized just how high up I was. My stomach turned as the street-lit road came up at me. In that last moment of panic, though, I recognized how unreal this situation was. On hope and desperation, I braced my hands and feet for impact and landed in a surprisingly relaxed crouch on the cobblestone(like) walkway. I was definitely dreaming. Immediately I remembered the goal of trying to find the Dream World Academy. Even though this area had a lot of close-set houses, there seemed to be many more dark hallways then actual doors. So my chances of finding a portal to the Academy weren't looking all that good. I did find a statue of an elephant or some other large creature, in a courtyard and, remembering the importance of touching things, to keep grounded in the dream, I climbed atop the statue and sat on its head, feeling the stone surface beneath me with my palms.

After some time, I found myself on the far side of the small town, still set close to the water. This was the opposite team's quarters, and they accepted me in as if I was automatically on their side, anyway. The way they ushered me in - as opposed to the way the other team was actually trying to capture/kill me - made me feel like I was already a member of their faction. Once I got accustomed to them, and things had settled down, I went exploring again. This place was basically an old restaurant, on the water. There were plenty of doors - bathrooms; closets; etc. - and I quickly got to work, opening them all and trying to find anything behind them which I wouldn't expect to find, otherwise. But, even when putting some will power and intent behind it, a bathroom was still a bathroom. A closet was just a closet. While moving through the quarters, I kept touching things; dragging my fingers along the walls and counters, just taking in the sensation of how the surfaces felt. I also made sure to keep looking at my hands, periodically, not wanting to lose the dream before I could meet my objective. After searching to no avail, I found myself back in the bathroom. Everything was still vivid, but I was losing lucidity, probably due to just getting daunted by the fruitless search. Something caused me to remind myself of my mission, though. I had almost forgotten. I was still dreaming, and I had to find the Academy. I looked briefly in the foggy bathroom mirror, but I didn't want to focus too much on my reflection. (I've had some pretty crazy encounters with my reflection, before, and didn't want to get side-tracked.) I left the bathroom and kept searching.

There are some parts here in which my memory seems to jump around. At one point, I was in the kitchen, which looked just like mine. It seemed to be day time outside now, and there was this really shady-looking cook in there with me. He made some type of threat to me and pulled a knife. I told him that he didn't want to try anything, because this was my dream, and I could crush him, if I wanted. I proved this by raising my hand and levitating some Tupper-ware off of the counter with telekinesis. Shocked and amazed, this cook instantly developed some freakish, homosexual crush on me. He casually slipped around behind me, embraced me, and kissed me on my cheek. Completely weirded out by this, I almost reached back and elbowed him square in the nose. I decided against it, though, and just slid out of his grasp, turning to face him defensively and making my way away from him, also not wanting to get caught up in fighting in this dream. Another fragment came when I found myself sitting in a residential garage, at night. There were headlights of a car beaming in on me, and two guys got out and began walking toward me, threateningly. My lucidity had begun waning, but it was still there. I reached out my hands and tried to push the oncoming men away from me with TK, but it didn't work. Uncontrollably, I questioned whether I was back in the real world. There was a fleeting moment, there, where I felt entirely stupid for trying to use TK on these guys, like I was some kind of wizard or something. I jumped up to my feet and ran like Hell.

(I woke up here, and saw that I still had about an hour and a half to sleep, so I lay still and relaxed, trying to drop myself back into the same dream.)

      Dream One (b):
I was back in the harbor town. I don't believe I WILDed, but I was already lucid, from my earliest recollection of this new dream. Moving along the docks at night, I had to stick to the shadows again, slinking my way passed the opposing team's sentries, and making it back to the HQ of my apparent allies. Still checking my hands and touching things, to keep the dream stable, I started searching around the restaurant again. Stepping into the dining area once more, I noticed that I had just passed a stunning woman, whom had grabbed my attention from the corner of my eye. I actually turned around in place, and looked back over to the wall, where she was sitting. She was a classy-looking brunette in an old-fashioned black dress and hat, sitting by herself. Smiling, I walked back over to her, leaning in close. She stared up at me, becoming visibly excited at how close my face was getting to hers. Again, she looked like she knew me, much like everyone on 'this side of the battle.'. There was an anxious recognition in her face - kind of like she and I knew each other very well, and she knew that we weren't supposed to be getting this close. (Now that I think of it, she reminded me a lot of Mal, from Inception.)

I could see her breathing heavier, the closer I got, and she just stared up at me. Finally, I kissed her. Nothing too crazy. I really wasn't trying to get caught up in LD sex, and I could see how easily that could have come next. She decided to tag along with me, though, and we moved on through the dining area. Still feeling a little, uh, randy?, I used some telekinesis to tug at the shirts and blouses of a few of the girls that were seated at nearby tables. I was never able to pull one of them off, but could only kind of tease them into moving a little bit. Moving further down this hallway, and headed back toward the kitchen area, we passed an older man; a waiter or host. I decided to ask some more DCs if they new about this Academy/castle, stopping the waiter and inquiring about it. He seemed to have at least some idea of this place I was speaking of, but really no information that helped us in finding it. In the kitchen area, still unable to find a portal, we came across an old T.V. Then, it was actually the woman, who came up with an ingenious idea. Why just look for doors? She turned on the T.V., which was only static, and she jus kind of motioned to it. I knew immediately what she was implying. Stepping forward, I put my hands out to the glass, slowly phasing into it. I had been through mirrors before, but never into a T.V. The white and black fray of static filled my view and completely enveloped me. I simply relaxed and went with it, trying to set the intention for this makeshift portal to transport me to the Academy.

I wound up in a jungle area, in the day time, still lucid. There was a stone slab of wall in front of me, and lush green vegetation all around. A small pit full of water sat off to one side, about 7 feet in diameter and filled with knotted ropes of vines and plant life, stretching down into some of the most crystal clear water I could imagine. I met another woman here, who was a bit of an Amazon, and very 'Earthy.' We got to talking about the Castle I was looking for, and she seemed to be well aware of it. She said that it was hidden back in the mountainous area behind the old harbor town, where the two opposing forces were battling. She also went more into detail about how varied the portals can be, saying that portals are everywhere. Whether or not they will take you to the Academy isn't guaranteed, but that they were everywhere. She pointed to the little well/water pit next to us, that I had been looking at earlier, and told me that it was a portal that would take me back to the harbor, and that I could continue my quest for the castle from there. I jumped into the waterhole, and sank, everything going dark for a moment, and then doing some generic, kaleidoscope-like tunnel transition.

I was back in the harbor, at night, coming up from beneath the water, somewhere way out in the lake or bay or whatever it was. I could see the layers of stone buildings, just off the water. I knew that the warring parties were still battling, and was going to continue to do my best to stay out of sight. While I was treading water, I could see a figure moving around, just beside me. It was still the dead of night, but there seemed to be some sort of soft light coming up from beneath the water, just enough to see that the silhouette was of a dolphin. It poked its head up near me, and I could see that its skin was actually as black as its silhouette was. I then began to get a little anxious, because I was in this huge body of water at night. I knew it would only be a matter of time before the sea monsters came out to play. So, focusing my mind for flight, I sort of 'surfed' my way forward through the water, and then up and out of it, hovering up onto one of the docks and setting out to find more portals. My flight was feeling very awkward, and my body kept wanting to defy my intention; floating in opposite directions, having trouble staying elevated, etc. I was able to float up to one of the high rooftops, and I grabbed onto the ledge, just on the outside of a staircase. Some of the 'enemy' team were assembling on this rooftop, and they then began walking down the stairway that I was hanging on the outside of. I ducked away behind the railing, hanging precariously off the edge, overlooking the street. They passed practically within inches of me while I watched them, through the stone banister, and one of them looked back to talk to his squad. When he did, I could have sworn that he looked dead at me...but he never said anything to alert his men.

Within this area of the harbor, I still had a hard time finding a lot of doors, so I went to searching for other 'types' of portals. I found what looked like a sewer drain, in the street, and figured that this could serve as a great portal. Setting the intention to show up somewhere within the academy, I jumped into the hole in the earth. Another Avatar-esque transition through a colorful tunnel, and I again found myself in the jungle setting, where I had earlier spoken to the Amazon woman, but she was nowhere to be found. I took another tunnel from this scene, and ended up back at the harbor town. Still not having any luck with doors, I just kept crawling into holes and dark paths, trying to find a portal that would lead me to the Academy. Throughout all this 'jumping,' I vaguely remember one moment where I showed up in some place where there was a kid around, whom I considered a threat, for some reason. I think he was going to alert the opposing team of my position. I got him side-tracked by asking him if he wanted to see some 'magic' and used pyrokinesis to light my hand on fire. He was enthralled by it, and I somehow used that distractions to escape the area. After another portal jump, I ended up back at the harbor for like the 4th time, only it was day time, this time. I wasn't really expecting to find the Dream World Academy in the daytime (I'm gonna have to ask if it's supposed to appear in the daytime or not), so I actually tried to make it night out, myself. I went through a hallway and commanded that it would be night time, when I emerged from the other side. Didn't work. So, I spent the next few moments hopping in portals and trying to find one that would bring me back to this harbor area in the night, so I could just fly to the mountains and look for the castle the old fashioned way.

I woke up before I was able to find anything, though.
    3. College Roaming

      1. I'm playing Unknown Armies with the usual suspects in a bedroom at my old college. As the session draws to a close, people are getting ready for bed. I unfortunately have to share a bed with K.R., who is quite a large fellow, while everyone else has separate sleeping arrangements. He has a scar on his back, and when I touch it in curiosity he screams out from sleep. M.G. and V.W. walk in to say goodnight; V. looks particularly attractive in a one-piece nightie. I can't sleep, so I go out into the night. I end up in a dorm that seems to be having a Homecoming party.

However, everything is in 19tth century military style, almost Napoleonic. H.B. is dressed in epaulets, playing odd military boardgames with people I don't recognize. The bathrooms are also odd, and I really need to use them. I end up avoiding the matter entirely and pissing on an inconspicuous wall looking out into a courtyard. Of course, a group of other friends, (Q., N.H., M.T.) take this opportunity to walk by (dressed in regular clothing). They look and laugh at me, and I turn away in shame.

I start to almost float, bouncing off the walls as I move down a different hallway (everyone is back to normal). There's a bunch of rowdy old alums making too much noise, and I get past them to a proper bathroom at the end of the hall. There are posters hanging across from the sinks for odd metal bands, including the real-life band "Bigelf." The venue, however, is the fictional "Redneck Mountain." As I look in the mirror, I realize that I look like another student, a Jacob E. I do a double take, and recognize that it's a reality check to go lucid. I start washing my hands, expecting the activity to stabilize me, and I do feel the sensations of running water and friction. However, at this point I've been dreaming for over 10 minutes and I can't hold on any longer.

      2. Fragment of a dinner with my future grad school mentor and family. He stays quiet throughout the meal until we ask about his work. When he talks about genes that manage magnetic particles, I stand up in amazement.

    4. Fragments for July 5 2011

by , 07-06-2011 at 07:48 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
      1. I'm in a store that sells an odd combination of hardware tools and traditional games. I go to the basement, where there seem to be mostly tools. There's a door in the basement room, though, which leads to another room with wizard robes and hats lining the shelves. Yet another door opens into the store's main office, in which the employees have set up an Xbox. There's a DDR setup on the console and I indulge myself.

      2. I'm playing an MMORPG with a strange blend of fantasy and sailing set on the East Coast of the USA. There are five races, including a species of intelligent giraffe people called the E'loi who can only speak under specific conditions. They can talk either to members of the warrior class, or they can talk to anyone while their heads are submerged in a tank of water with fish in it. My brother and I spend some time messing around with the boating mechanics, and I manage to strand my E'loi character's boat on a street.
    5. One of my strangest dreams - The Eel

      by , 07-05-2011 at 09:56 PM
This dream is very old (and long)...

I once dreamt that I was in a fishing competition at a giant swimming pool that was so deep that you couldn't see the bottom of the pool, only blackness. While I was fishing I caught a decent sized fish but the person beside me was jealous and bumped me so the fish fell of my rod so I had to try again. The second time I cast out my line I noticed something coming from the depths of the pool, and it was very long and black. It appeared to had gotten my fishing line and as it got closer I saw that it was a giant eel. The announcer then announced on the speakers that I was the winner of the competition, but I wasn't thinking about that. As the eel got closer I noticed how large it was and began to get scared, I dropped my rod and started to run away. I ran through the tunnel that was behind me which had old wooden planks for the floor. The tunnel was dark and you could see water underneath the planks. As I was running I tripped and my foot broke through one of the boards, and then I blacked out.

When I awoke again I was sliding down the throat of the eel. The eel's throat and stomach were disgusting. There were bits of dead flesh and bone floating in the water and also something very strange. Near the back of the eels stomach was a pale, naked man crouched down in the water and debris. He seemed almost inhuman and for some reason reminded me of the pale man from pan's labyrinth, except that he didn't have a weird face like them or eyes in their hands. He looked and me and smiled, but it wasn't a friendly smile. I then decided that I was going to escape. I turned around and started to crawl up the throat of the eel.

When I reached the mouth of the eel I noticed another thing that was very strange. From the eel's mouth I could also see their nostrils and their eyes, which were clear like windows. I looked out of one of the eyes and saw that we were flying through a city. After looking out the eel’s eyes I prepared myself and leaped out of their right eye. I floated slowly to the ground, turned back to glance at the eel, and then started to run and sometimes levitate or jump. As I was trying to escape from the eel I saw the man who was in the eel’s stomach climb out of its mouth and onto the eel’s head. He appeared to be controlling the eel and he kept pointing his finger in my direction and yelling stuff to the eel.

While I was running from the eel I came across some train tracks and I noticed a train coming so I flew up over the train, hoping that the eel might not be able to get me since it appeared to only be able to fly close to the ground. The eel tried to follow me and sort of jumped over the train, but then it went down again and I was able to escape. I flew high into the sky and saw the city spread out below me. I then flew towards one tall building that had a swimming pool on it. I dived into the pool and went straight to the bottom. At the bottom of the pool was a little tunnel. I went through the tunnel and then came out of a pool of water in a different area.

The new area was a building for scientific research. For some reason my clothes were gone now and I appeared to have the ability to create life. I made a pool of water in the middle of the floor and made plants grow around it and salamanders in water. The scientists were very interested in me and appeared to be studying me. Soon after that I woke up.

    6. 3 Lucids in a row yeeehhhaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! 5th July 2011

      by , 07-05-2011 at 12:40 PM
As you may know my recall got really bad of late, could not remember any dreams atall..lucid dreaming comes naturally to me along with SP but....since taking 5HTP and vitamin B6 it all stopped, no dream recall, no SP ..nothing..I stopped taking them 4 days ago and now to my suprise its all coming back..just a warning to anyone with a natural ability...DONT TRY TO FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN

Ok 3 lucids in a row last night, In each one i kept picking things up like stones etc and feeling them aswell as looking closley at the detail to stabilise my dream. In one of my dreams there was water, like a pool, when i felt my lucidity wearing off I placed my hands into the water and splashed it onto my face and it felt so real it was amazing. There was also like a market place in this dream. I was asking if I could meet my dream guide and said "when i turn round my dream guide will be there" it didn't appear, i then realised that this was because i doubted it a little. I asked a Man "do you know who my dream guide is?" I thought it may have been him but he looked at me blankly i then said "you know , a dream guide, like a spirit guide" he said "yes i am" I doubted this and asked "are you my TRUE dream guide?" he laughed and said "no" I also said out loud "i want to see my nan and grandad" some man then said to me "we can't just turn into them you know" i remember thinking "i didn't expect you to" i looked around for them but they didn't appear.
Each time i woke slightly i said to myself "i want to meet my dream guide" this then took me back into a lucid dream. After the 3rd lucid i woke again slightly and then heard the "swooshing" noise in my head , i then felt myself spinning and falling then i must have gone into a normal dream.
These vere very heightened in intensity and very amazing.
I also remember like a dessert place and a curtain hanging up the door frame to a house or hut kind of place this is where the pool of water was. There was also a pony in my dream, i spoke to it , but with bad dream recall of late i find it hard to remember enough to write it down, but i remember it very clearly in my mind..if that makes any sense!!
The last lucid dream i had i decided to just go with the flow as my controll wasn't brilliant yet i had excellent ability to stabilise my dreams.
I did rub my hands together at one point when my dream was diminishing and it brought it all back again and stabilised it nicely.

I do remember at some point in my lucid i flew, think i just wanted to go for a quick fly about, but i was more interested in testing my controll and see how its getting, still got a long way to go yet but i'll get there as i have so much determination and i KNOW i will manage it eventually

Each lucid dream lasted about 10-15 minutes so having 3 I had a wail of a time

    7. Getting My Family out of Nazi Germany, a Recording Session, and Some Lucidity

      by , 07-04-2011 at 04:56 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was helping my extended family come to America from Germany so they would be safe from the Nazi army. They weren't Jewish, but they were in danger of being drafted into the Nazi army.

I remember being in an airplane with them. I don't remember seeing an specific family members, but I knew we were on the plane for a long time. We were flying over from Germany to America. I remember seeing a lot of my family sitting in the back of the plane, only the seats were set up more like they would be on a bus.

I then remember driving down a road in my town in the daytime. But then, I was out of the car but still on the road. My grandma was with me. I told her
"Don't worry, you're safe from Hitler now."
      She didn't respond.

      ~

I lived in this huge manchine. I remember I had made friends with this bigger black girl named Olivia who looked kind of like this girl I know named Bri in waking life. We were walking down the street. She was walking her dog. We talked for awhile, and she mentioned to me that I was invited to go to this recording session in Missouri. It was being done by this guy that I know in waking life who comes and records some of the bands that play at the coffee shop I work at. I wasn't actually going to be doing any singing or playing music, but I was going to be doing technical stuff. I remember reading a letter from the recording guy that was inviting me and giving me details of the trip. Olivia had been invited too.

Then, Olivia asked me to grab her this weird writing thing, it was like a caulking gun but it had ink or paint in it. I gave it to her. She then spray painted some of the pillars at my manchine. They were originally blue, but the spots she painted on them were yellow. She painted some other things. The whole time I was telling her to stop and asking her what she was doing, but she never listened.

I then remember being back in the manchine. I was in a room with lots of waterways that led to outside. I saw my cat, Belle, jump into the water and start swimming. There was another cat swimming in there too, a black one I think. I was afraid Belle would swim outside and I'd lose her. She tried to go outside when someone opened this door in the water, but they quickly shut it again so she couldn't escape.

My mom then got mad about Olivia vandalizing the pillars outside the manchine.

Then, I remember practicing what I was supposed to be doing at the recording studio. It was almost kind of Guitar Hero-esque; I had to press some button every time a note came up. The notes looked like little colored boxes. I wasn't doing very well; it was moving too fast and my timing wasn't right.

I then remember talking to some people in the manchine. I think I was in my room. One of the people in there was my friend and coworker, Tori. She had also been invited to the recording session. I asked her if she was going, and she said no. She then said she didn't think anyone from my town was gonna go. I then told her I probably wouldn't go then either. She said it was typical that no one from my town was gonna come to the session.

I was then driving around in my car, just thinking and driving like I do so often in waking life. I then started to think about dreams, and did a reality check by counting my fingers. The first time I counted five, but I did it again and counted six. I was dreaming! I counted my fingers again, and counted 7 or 8. I then made a ton of fingers appear out of my hand. My hand looked super crazy! I shook my hand and all the extra fingers disappeared.

I then floated up through the roof of my car. There were 2 guys with me, they were behind me. We were flying around above my car. It was like we were flying through a city, there were buildings on either side of us. They were an orange-red color. I looked into the sky. It was a beautiful blue and spotted with clouds. All the clouds were shaped like different things, but I can't remember any specifics.

I examined my hand to try to keep the dream, but I lost it. I don't think I woke up, I think I went into a non-lucid dream, but I can't remember exactly.

    8. Brief Lucidity and Lots of FAs

      by , 06-30-2011 at 03:58 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I remember being in some sort of class where we learned Chinese. I feel like there were more classes like this around the building we were in. I think we were in a school of some sort. We had to take the the Chinese class for some reason.

There was more to this part of the dream, but I can't remember any details right now. I remember there being water in there somewhere, it may have been a pool, I'm not quite sure.

Then, I remember writing stuff down, and re-reading it to myself. I couldn't read it, it kept changing! Well, that can only mean one thing. I counted my fingers, and there were 6 on both hands. My suspicious were confirmed. I'm dreaming! I walked around for a little bit, then decided to fly. "Gravity" tried to hold me down, but I wouldn't let it.

Then, I woke up. Or so I thought. I got up and felt kind of funny. I counted my fingers. 6 on the left, 8 on the right. Totally dreaming again.

This happened about 4 or 5 more times. In between the false awakenings, I felt the familiar buzz of sleep paralysis in my head and saw the familiar blackness and HI. One time, I tried to "roll out" of my body. I felt myself tumbling over and over myself slowly and smoothly, until I could see. I saw part of my room and got out of bed. I kept hearing my mom downstairs, so it kept making me think that I was going to wake up; that's what triggered all of these FA's.
    9. Bodies everywhere

by , 06-29-2011 at 10:06 PM (Visions in the Dark)
The dream starts off with me walking through a field. There is a thick and heavy fog and I cannot even see the ground under my feet but I can feel it - it is very bumpy and unstable, like I am walking on frozen pillows or something, if that makes any sense. I am walking up a slight incline and the fog recedes a bit when I reach the top.

The unstable ground I am walking on is covered with thousands of bodies as far as the eye can see. There are so many bodies and they are piled on top of each other so high that I cannot see any natural ground at all. Most of the bodies are men in green or grey uniforms but there are also women and children laying about. Despite all of the dead bodies, many of which are in various states of decay, I don't remember smelling the rot around me.

In front of me is a small pond. There are bodies in the water but not as many as on the ground and the water is a dark reddish brown because it is filled with blood and rotting flesh. I walk past the pond and to the other side of the hill, but it is slow going because stepping across the mounds of bodies is difficult. The fog has lessend, but there are still bodies as far as the eye can see and I cannot get away from them no matter how far I go.
    10. Money, and Crime

My memory picks up in a neighborhood very close to mine, at one of my friends homes. One of my friends come to the door as I am walking up the street with some sort of "Hover Pack" on my back. It consists of two fans on each of my shoulders, and it seems as if it is made out of some sort of black plastic material, similar to a fan. The friend that came out of the front door to greet me, isn't even the friend that currently lives in the home. I begin to fly around on my hover pack, and I go above the house, and soon find myself next to some power lines. I get a little bit frightened and I attempt to avoid the lines to the best of my ability. The next thing I know my friend is flying beside me, and we soon make our way into town, which is not far from the house that my friend came out of. Some how we end up meeting another one of the people I know, and we end up committing some sort of crime, and we are all inside of my car trying our best to flee the scene. While in the car, one of my friends simply disappear, and I do not know where he went. I notice that I am not the one driving my car for some reason. I realize that being in a car is most likely not one of the safest way of escape from a crime scene, so I open the door and tell me friend to stop to let me out of the car. I exit the car, and my friend drives off in a rather fast fashion.

Now I am walking down the street, and I am thinking about how fast he was going, and I am hoping that he does not end up wrecking my car. I eventually make it farther down the road, and I end up at some sort of tunnel. Inside the tunnel, it appears as if there has been some sort of shooting, and car crash. I notice that it is my car that has crashed. As I am searching for my friend, and simply looking about the crash scene, I notice that the ground is simply littered with money. The money on the ground consists of twenty dollar bills, five dollar bills, and ten dollar bills. I begin to pick up all of the money as fast as I can, and I begin to think about the police and the fact that I only have a little bit of time before they arrive to the crash scene. I end up looking down the street on the other side of the tunnel, and I see some paramedics, and police officers coming down the road very quickly. I grab a few more bills off the ground, exit the tunnel and I sit just to the right of the tunnel behind a small wall where the tunnel protrudes out a bit. I sit my money down, and I begin to count it. As I am counting, I notice a rubber glove sitting below my money and out of nowhere comes a police officer. The officer is a women, and she has her gun drawn. She appears to be observing the crime scene, looking for some sort of evidence so I casually tell her about the rubber glove. She picks it up, and asks me to follow her. I try my best to hide the wad of money in one of my pockets as we begin to go back into the tunnel where the crash occurred. I lose sight of the women, so I decide to simply walk around the crime scene. I notice that the ground of the tunnel is made out of some odd plastic material and below I can see water, and a dead body that looks like it has been decaying, or burned.

The police force has now gathered at the opposite end of the tunnel, and they are working as a group to pull up one end of the plastic cover, which appears to be the road. They pull up the cover, and the water inside somehow disappears leaving the body exposed. They pull out the body, and toss it through the air and it does not move, as if it is simply a mannequin of some sort. I begin to walk away, exiting the other side of the tunnel, and I wake up just after I exit.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Dream: Protection
      ★★★★☆
Tasked with protecting this girl around my age, I quickly discover she isn't human. No, she's one of them, sent to understand human society and culture during this time of war. Even so, I find myself caring for this girl, and when the invasion finally does hit, and boulders are crashing down around us, I refuse to allow her to go back to them only to have her body vaporized and her memories absorbed into their collective hive-mind. So, I nab a fighter jet and we flee. . . only to crash a short time afterwards on the border of a hick river-town.

The only people in town able to help us are asking too high a price, but she knows something about me, something I had forgotten. Our desperate situation and a reminder is all it takes for me to take the initiative, dredge our plane to the surface with my TK, and repair it instantly. . .

      Dream: Military School
      ★★☆☆☆
Enrolled in the academy, I find myself living a mix of military and student life, but things quickly get out of hand. Shenanigans ensue and I find myself taking a dip in full uniform in the lake the night before an important day. Apparently, it was the only thing I could do to avoid being caught out after curfew.

      Fragment: Bros.
      ★★☆☆☆
Super Nintendo graphics and a Mario Bros. Game make up my world, as I help guide my brother through a particular difficult level. Unfortunately, he's being resistant. Normally, I wouldn't care, but lives are at stake here, and one more spill into that lava would kill more than the sprite. . .

    12. The coloured bowl of water

by , 06-27-2011 at 10:54 PM (The journey of JussiKala)
This is a dream that happened a while ago, but I was away from the internet, so I didn't mark it up. Decided I could just post it here now.
      _____

I had joined a camp the purpose of which was to learn the art of using magic. Housing was a single big building with a living room type room in the center, with two hallways going in each direction, holding roughly 7 rooms each. Each room held 2 or 3 people.

Each night, the master would come to check the rooms we slept in and check if we could turn a mass of water in a bowl into a solid colour. The others succeeded, with some trying. I couldn't do it. So I tried to cheat for 3 nights straight. I took some color powder and put it in the bowl. The master detected this and always smashed the bowl in front of me.

Last night on the camp, I finally succeeded in using magic to change the colour of the mass of water in the bowl. I made it dark blue. I was happy that I succeeded, and somehow I think that my master was too.

      1. I'm called by the police after a concert to report on some crime; the process takes forever and I miss getting to my job.

      2. Setting of dream is the same as the webcomic "Erfworld." A "good" character has called a massive flood to save her sister, but in doing so wipes out countless other lives. There's a view of a prisoner in an open-air dungeon with a terrified look on his face as the water sweeps in to overwhelm him.

      3. I'm playing some sort of turn based strategy version of Super Smash Brothers; the opposing team is Mario and Luigi, and Luigi is kicking away my ranged attacks with his taunt move.
    14. Purifying

      by , 06-23-2011 at 07:55 PM (Zukin's Dream Journal! <3)
I was driving around at night. I wasn't really sure where I was going, I was following the directions from a GPS.

On doing a left hand turn, I accidentally hit the curb. A cop came out of nowhere and gave me a $500 ticket for "driving on the sidewalk".

I was pretty pissed so I kept on driving. Everything was really dark. I don't think my headlights were even working. I came to a small subdivision. There was a house with so many flowers. The road and pavement was covered by these blossoming flowers that were growing all over the place.

The owners of the house saw me in their yard and invited me inside. I had to fix my car, which had now turned into an automatic wagon.

I left a few hours later, thanking the owners for a place to rest.

I was now with someone else and still following my GPS. The directions given to me by the GPS weren't making any sense.

It was daytime and we were in a big city. The GPS told me to walk around the corner of the building where I would come to a pond built behind it.

My friend and I followed the directions of the GPS and found the small pond. There was a staircase leading over it that lead to a door going into the back of the building. The door was locked.

"Hey, this might help!" My partner called out. There was a blue key in the small pond. It was resting under a leaf. I picked it up and unlocked the door.

Inside the small room there were three women. One of the women was blue, and the other caucasian with long, red hair. They were tall. The third women was of average height. She wore glasses and seemed to be the apprentice of sorts to the women.

The two outstanding women told us that they were the goddesses of water and healing, and that we had came to their realm with a purpose.

The woman with the red hair began to heal my partner while I focused on the blue woman. She pointed to a spot near my carotid artery and one of my chakras and told me that this was the source of suffering for me. She informed me that she was going to begin a healing ritual. IT FELT SO WEIRD. And awesome. It felt as if I was a transparent ghost, and a waterfall was rushing through my being. It was purifying.

When the goddesses had finished they began to engage in a sword fight with each other. They fought great and magical.

We were left in the room with the apprentice. She was sorting vials.

I started to think and wonder where I was and how this just happened.

"You're in a dreamscape," The apprentice answered.

Wait...Did I just say that outloud?!... I thought

      "Nope," She announced.

      ...Telepathic? I wondered.

      "Yep." She admitted.

      1. I'm in a bar, relaxing somewhat awkwardly at a table with my frenemy H.B. and his girlfriend J.J. The interior reminds me of a bar in my old college town, but the view out the windows is that of a bustling supermarket in my hometown. H. asks for a pitcher of water as I start texting with my own girlfriend. I turn around and notice that the bar proper is taken up by a line of sorority girls, dressed in black Playboy bunny costumes for a frat party.

      2. I decide to go to my old grade school, touring it in a suit, but while doing so I run into people from all levels of schooling. John M. from high school I see in the bathroom, the high school art teacher I see in the hall (interviewing for a position here), and C.W. and S.A. from college I see on the stairs as I'm leaving.

      3. I stay up very late watching some football game... then go to sleep. I FA into my own bed at 9 o'clock at night, and my brother is sitting on the chair beside me playing Nintendo DS. My mom walks into the room and starts to berate me for my lateness and asks me how I expect to eat.
