    1. "I do not exist in a place that does not exist"

      DILD

Notes: This was a fairly long dream but I only remember bits. The first dream is unrelated to the lucid one.

Ben, a few other people, and I were loaded onto a school bus and taken to a crazy obstacle course survival place. There were a few options of destinations and one of the most dangerous was chosen for us...the lava world. It had a giant mountain that needed to be scaled. The second the bus stopped we bolted off. I cant recall the first few obstacles but eventually we hit the side of the mountain that needed climbing. It was made of some viscous white foam and I had to struggle not to drown, let alone make upward progress. Eventually I made it to the top and I had to go down this giant ramp. I ended up being launched hundreds of feet and missing my target. After some gaps of memory we made it back to the buses.

The next dream I was sitting in a room with IG, SD, and a few other garage people. I was hanging on some bed and then eventually went on the computer to look something up. SD shared the seat with me and we started to hold each other a little bit. I kissed her on the cheek and she got more into it. Eventually she was sitting behind me and reached around to undo my fly. I put the breaks on because IG was there also and another garage person saw this and helped to separate us.

I left and went into the hallway. I saw two absolutely gorgeous girls and I became lucid. They were two blonde 10's. We had some fun for a little bit and the group came out of the room and started going somewhere. I decided to join them. We started to get attacked by some group of people. I used hand to hand combat to fight them off. After around 3 people I tried to get wolverine claws. I couldn't get them to appear and people kept coming. I would try in the brief moments between enemies. I could pretend I had them and swipe at enemies as if I did. However, I always had to resort to real punches after a bit. It sort of worked once and I had 3 thin black blades spreading outward from between my fingers, but it wasn't very satisfying. I tried to fly over them a few times also, but the roof was low and I could never maintain the correct height to fly over them.

I guided out group to hide in a giant closet. It was pitch black and I was about to ambush a few enemies from there. The group went on and I stopped for a bit. I tried to help my control and repeated the phrase, "I do not exist in a place that does not exist." I decided to try and meditate for a bit. But I was scared to close my eyes. I did it eyes open, but I was in a crowed hallway so it was difficult. I started to walk forward again and I lost the dream.

    2. 9th June 2013 Intense WILD entry, Changing wing colors

by , 06-09-2013 at 12:00 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Dream recall from today's nap, haven't had intense entry into WILD like that before, haha, fits that i recently had talk in chat about not experiencing much vibrations.

I am in my bed, after a while everything starts shaking and i have dream feeling, i just go with it and shaking becomes even more intense, like an earthquake, so intense that it throws me into air and almost off the bed, making me open eyes. I take control of the situation and stop them. I am in my room, looks pretty close to my room in waking life. I go to balcony, rub hands and jump off, i feel wings and start the flight, i look around and notice that i can actually see base of my wings this time, i easily change color of them a few times, stopping at black. Then i fly near some building and about to go with summoning, but dream fades out and i wake up.
    3. Poker Table in Elevator - No Problem, but Elevator Numbers Out of Order - LUCID!

      by , 06-09-2013 at 11:50 AM
To bed at 11pm, Woke up around 5:50am

In this dream I was in an elevator. The door opened and an attractive thin, tall, blond, young caucasian woman stepped in. I asked her "Going Up?" She: "Does not matter." And she stepped to the side of the elevator where there was a spacious card table and several chairs lined up, and she started shuffling a deck of cards, setting up for a poker game. This did not phase me - I was not questioning things yet. Apparently my mind has no problem with poker games in the elevator.

Then I looked at the elevator buttons to make sure my floor was pressed. The floor I wanted was 6, which is where my office is at in reall life. The woman had pressed 10 (though she had stated it did not matter, and clearly intended to just stay in the elevator to play poker).

Suddenly I noticed that the elevator button numbers were out of order. I decided to do a reality check, to look away and look back and see if the numbers change. Out of some reason the reality check was not working properly, but I thought to myself, "Skrew that, I don't need a reality check to confirm this is a dream. I know this is a dream." When I thought that, the numbers rearranged themselves (though I have a sense they were still out of order, but in a different way). The dream started fading. The vividness was low, and I did not have the presence of mind to fight it, to stabilize.

When I woke up, I tried falling right back to sleep in a DEILD, but was not successful, and I remembered several dreams from earlier that night, and had an urge to write them down - I had not written them down yet. I remembered to reality check only after I wrote them down, but yes, I am awake.

Earlier Dream 1: Learning Hebrew - under 21 need an escort In this dream I was at the Jewish Community Center, and I was supposed to learn the phrase in Hebrew that I am under 21 and thus need an escort into the building. Dream did not explain why I needed to learn this phrase though I am not under 21, 20 year olds don't need escorts, and the people at the JCC understand English of course. But I did not question any of that. In my dream the phrase was supposedly in Hebrew, but in hindsight it was more like Spanish, and I understood most of it. However, out of some reason I said "This is too hard for me. Luckily my learning this phrase is just optional." My older son was with me, while I was learning this phrase. We were in the lobby of the JCC. My older son was going to go back to his school, and someone at the JCC reminded him to bring back a bottled drink for his teacher from the cafeteria, which in my dream was something he regularly did.

Earlier Dream 2: Room Size Aquarium, Fish with Issues, Running out of Water In this dream I was looking at our aquarium which in the dream was room sized (in reality it is 29 gallons). I noticed that some fish were made out of paper but swimming, some had their tails bitten off, and some were mostly eaten, but all were still swimming. I was concerned about a guppy with tail bitten off because I knew that that guppy had been ok the previous day (I actually have this guppy and he is ok). I went around the corner to another ventage point on the room sized aquarium, and there the aquarium was almost out of water. I realized it was my responsibility to refill it somehow.

Earlier Dream 3: Failed to Attend Work Paid Training While Out of Town In this dream I was out of town for three one day long IT courses, a training that had been paid for by my work, and somehow I managed to fail to attend any of the courses. I was worried about that, because I did not want to waste my company's money and they had paid for the training. I wondered whether I could make up the courses at m\home, and pretend to my company that I had taken them while out of town.

      -Computer and phone...

      Modifiers Getting Up:
      -Alarm at 12:00

      Dreams:
      1) Semi-lucid. I am being recruited into an army in a non-our world. I am aware that this is a dream, but still don't question the story and follow along. I packed a bag but forgot clothes, so I go back to get some. In the meantime, I come across my DCs scrambling around backstage, out of character. (I remember the implication of them being out of the roles they were supposed to, as I apologized to them for messing up the routine).

      -Time Skip-

A girl from my high school is next to me in a movie theater, and I put my arm around her. She seems surprised, though not unhappy. Still semi-lucid.

      2) Driving down a highway I have never been down before, having a bit of trouble making all the lane changes and turns, realize it is a dream. Pull the wheel up and the car flies vertically.
    5. Lucid False Awakening

      by , 06-09-2013 at 03:45 AM
Whoa! I had another Lucid Dream! Wait.. better do a Reality Check.... counts fingers, tugs on pointer finger... Ok I'm really awake this time.

      Saturday, June 8th, 2013
Well, after sleeping for 5 hours, waking up and going back to sleep... nothing. Slept soundly for another couple of hours, woke up, went back to bed but I didn't go to sleep right away, I laid awake for a while then curled up with my back to the sunlight coming in the window. I didn't think I had fallen asleep so I must've had a false awakening because I got up and started fiddling with my knitting stuff. I found my crochet hook set but a few of the holes where the hooks should have gone, were filled with pencils, pens and other items, even some small crocheted bits of yarn. I pulled all of these out and started hunting for my loose crochet hooks to put them back. I found a small bunch of them, put a few in, hunted around some more and picked up the set again but it was full of the pencils and pens again. Every time I found a hook, the set was jammed with the other objects again instead. After putting the same hook back 3 times, I thought quietly, "This does not make any sense..." That was when I did a Reality Check. It almost didn't work though! I counted my fingers and I did indeed count 5 fingers... and one thumb, that made six. I tried to stretch out my pointer finger but it wouldn't stretch at first... I counted again, made sure that I was dreaming then I focused and tugged on my finger again. This time it stretched out perfectly. As I sat on my bed in my room I tried to imagine that I had a Snickers candy bar and took a bite but all I chomped on was air. I went back to pulling on my fingers, stretching each one out and letting them slowly morph back to normal. That helped, Then I sat in kind of a half lotus position trying to float upwards off my bed. But I couldn't seem to do that either. I know why I didn't just leave my room, because I could distinctly hear my parents voices talking right outside my door (even though my mom is currently in another state: Tenessee) and I was afraid of sleepwalking or finding out that I was actually awake... I was also not wearing anything which would have been quite embarassing. Plus, in taking the time to get dressed I might have lost the dream. So as I sat there on my bed trying to float, I noticed a golfball sized lamp on my bedroom wall, it looked straight out of a Sims game. It seemed to be getting larger, (from golfball sized to base-ball sized to bowling-ball sized) as I stared at it and it gave off a weirdly bright bluish white light. I was vaguely aware that either the bed was shaking or I was rocking back and forth. The luminescent globe had reached the alarming size of a beach-ball when I finally looked away. I looked down at my hands, counted and tugged my fingers to make sure I was still in a dream and still lucid. When I looked up again, the light was gone. I was glad since the light gave me the willies. I went back to my attempts to float off my bed, but in the process of trying to focus, I accidentally closed my eyes. This I knew was an immediate mistake as it caused me to lose the dream. It was a wacky feeling though, feeling my position shift from sitting upright in a lotus position, to lying down on my side curled up under a blanket.
    6. My first time having two Lucid Dreams in one night!

      by , 06-09-2013 at 03:39 AM
      Tuesday, June 4, 2013
After a loooong time of little to no dream recall, my life got really busy, I finally came back to DreamViews and back to my dreaming. I looked at a WBTB method of going back to sleep after about 4 hours. Here's how that turned out.

I dreamed that I was in an art studio getting some kind of animation lesson from a few people, one of which was Mel Brooks. As I was leaving, I thanked him and called him Mr. Brooks, but then I smiled and asked if I could call him Mel. He grinned at me, he was shorter than I was. I kissed him on the cheek, and he shouted Halleluljah! I kissed his other cheek and he shouted Halleluljah! again. Then I kissed him on the lips and I wasn't sure if he shouted that time or not... I left the area and it was filled with old props from 1920's era of movies. Then I looked around again and it was like I had gone through a time machine. The entire area looked like Hollywood circa 1920. Then the area changed to a mall and an arcade inside the mall, (I wonder if it was Whimsy in the Sherwood Mall?) I past an old coin opperated kiddie ride and I noticed I was walking with my Dad. Then I realized I must have still been back in time because I saw a younger version of my Dad and subsequently a young 6-year-old version of myself, walk past, towards the arcade. I caught up with my older dad and he turned and waved at my younger dad mumbling something about the guy looking familiar to him. The scene changed and I was alone at Delta College before it became a college and was merely a flea market. The sign on what was Danner Hall, read De Wanda. I notice another guy, he points out a young girl saying that it is his daughter, and that she get's married when she turns twenty. The scene changed again and this time I was walking through some kind of hardware store with Dad and Richard. Some weird guy followed me saying strange things and replied, "Oh go ship your... phone. At the checkout counter, I did a Realiy Check and realized I was having a now-lucid dream. Immediately I imagined holding a hot pocket and heating it in my hand. I couldn't really feel it getting hot but it did and in about 20 seconds it was done. I took a single bite and it was some kind of pizza hot pocket, I could taste it. While I was lucid, Richard in the dream, grabbed a rattlesnake and thrust it in my face several times over, he kept shouting at me, "It's only a dream! Only a dream! You can do whatever you want!" Scary flashes of the snake snapping at me and other horrors began to haunt me, turning the dream very nasty indeed. But I was still lucid so even as I was scared, I focused my mind and shouted, "This is going to stop in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" I opened my eyes and the nightmarish flashes stopped, although I had a rather creepy visual of Richard holding one of his sockets up to his temple as though it were the barrel of a gun and he said he was proud that I faced my fear. Then I woke up. I had my first Lucid Nightmare but the method worked! The entire dream took about 2 hours.

Since the method adovcated being able to have multiple Lucid's in a single night, I opted to try to get another one in. I tossed and turned until it was 11:00, I kept getting woken up... All worth it though, because I eventually did get to sleep.

The dream was kind of normal, something about cleaning my room, but there was some kind of show going on with an audience watching it. I could not see nor hear any show going on behind me, but the audience complained that I was being too loud for them to enjoy the show. So I opted to leave, taking a CD that I planned to blast at the rude people from the bathroom. A little old guy also wanted to use the bathroom, I let him go into an orange bathroom, while I went into the joined blue bathroom, closing the door between us. This bathroom looked like one from a previous residence I had lived in. I looked at the mirror at my reflection which looked ok except for one major difference. My hair looked ok from about my ears down, but the top looked like it had a bunch of grass in it. Green grass, fresh and lush. I reached up to brush the grass out, but the grass was in fact, growing out of my head! This thought was quite strange to me and rather horrifying. I pulled some of it out, looked down at the grass I had pulled out of my head, looked up, and now there was more than grass, there were weeds in my hair, in fact my head was looking like an unmowed lawn. I start frantically pulling everything green from my head, sickened by the thought of the weeds having roots under my scalp. As I pulled it seemed that I was finding worse things, I began snapping off small branches from my head, my hair had this lovely Gaia Mother Nature look to it but I was too concerned with removing the green from my head. When I was finally finished, my head was almost completely bald, and rough like a shaved dog or cat. I was mortified, but that was when I did my RC and realized I was dreaming. I was sooooo relieved that this was just a dream and I didn't really have things growing out of my head. Recalling that I wanted to make stuff appear in my Lucid Dreams, I looked at my hands and started trying to visualize making an object appear. A small, transparent, reddish, fuzzy ball appeared to float just above my hand, only becoming solid for a bare second. I tried to make it move around but it was choppy and fake like a bad Flash animation. After the ball disappeared, I looked up at my reflection one more time and my hair was completely back and looked beautiful. I smiled and fluffed it a bit. The scene changed to a brilliant night sky full of twinkling stars. I got a running start and flew up into the night. I loved the view of the stars, they looked like little chips of diamond in a sea of indigo, I was loving it. I tried hard not to look down because it felt as though it would pull me down lower. I did try to make that red ball appear again, but I felt that it was splitting my concentration and I was unable to stay aloft. Then the dream became fuzzy again and the scene changed. I think I was doing magic tricks in front of a store window, in fact it may have been the window of the magic shop. I was doing tricks for kids with some small thing, a coin or a mahjong tile or something, I think that the last trick was throwing it against the window, it did not break the window but instead stuck fast on the other side of the window. The kids and other audience members were amazed when they went up to the window and felt the glass over top of the item. I don't think I was lucid for this last part of the dream though I felt more in control than usual. Then I woke up.

So that method seems to work quite well! I had two lucid dreams in one night!
    7. Sumys's workbook

      by , 06-08-2013 at 11:09 PM
Sleep at 15:00 wake-up 18:30 Lucidology timer, first interval after 70 minues, but I am not sure if it rangs. No MILD technique. The day before l read Lucidology 101 i 103 "pry eye lids" and talked with LD expert about it.

I woke up and then felt asleep a couple of times. At last I am laying on my bed awaken. I got a desire to have an OBE. I am concentrating myself to the other body which is in the opposite side of my room.I am feeling vibrations and sense of spiral movement down and down. I stand up and try RC. Point finger goes through my palm. I see it with a littly hazy sight, but afterwards I dont see anything. Despite that fact I want to fly up. I am feeling the sensetion of flying and clearly the feel of the material of our roof that I must being flying throughout. But I am still blind. I am angry and screaming "CLARITY NOW". But nothing happens. I remember at Lucidology 103 that I can open my nonphysical eye lids with nonphysical hands. I do it and it works! All I see is the edge of my bed and wall as being seen from the sleeping position. It looks the same as in reality. Strange. After I drop my eyelids again I dont see anything. i wake up. In that moment it was very vivid, but not after the final awakening I remember it with some obstacles. I still dont know if it was a false awakening LD or OBE.

    8. (Un)forgettable meeting

      by , 06-08-2013 at 10:40 PM
      Date: 08 June

Total sleep time: 6 1/2 hrs

      Pre bed: 200mg valerian

WBTB: cold latte (103.4 mg caffeine), did not feel very strong despite the warnings on the label

Dream quality and recall: Hmm, recall was quite difficult today, I was extremely sleepy pre WBTB and after falling asleep post WBTB. Vividness was as far as I can remember normal. Not totally sure about the sequence of the dreams. I did wake up naturally after WBTB and tried to commit the dreams to memory without taking any notes, but then quickly fell asleep. After final wake I was like " What, I don't remember anything at all?" Then some fragments emerged.

Dream1: I am in my grandma's place and there is a hungry lion in there too. I barely notice it , just know that it is there. (It seems I wasn't looking forward to giving it a hug today!) So, I get a large bone to lure it, it looks like some big KFC leftover and I throw it in the corridor, while trying to sneak out. I am not very sure where this lion is, but I am contemplating on an escape plan...

Fragment2: In some place, which reminds me of a block that I only dream about. The place is a bit different, and the floor is made of Chinese tiles. I am crossing it, and in the meantime lots of Asians appear there. They have to be careful because there are fragile blue/white Chinese dishes on the floor. I go with a touch of irritation, pick some guy and tell him he should not do what he is doing. I get the feeling of another dream with some Japanese girls I had a long time ago.

Fragment3 DILD: No idea how this dream started, when I got lucid and what I else I did while lucid. It is quite dark, and it seems I ran into a DC that I assume is Xanous. I address him and start talking to him. I remember he may not be lucid, so I grab him by the shoulders, shake him a bit and repeat several times that this is a dream. Then I remember to do the gesture, and finally repeat the passcode a few times. It looks like he is trying to memorize it, I repeat it a few more times, hopefully he will remember. I hold his head with my hands, while the dream slowly fades away.

Comments: Well a bit unlikely that this was Xanous, did he say anything back? I am so good at terrorizing innocent DCs. Sorry guys!

    9. First WILD, 2nd Lucid dream

      by , 06-08-2013 at 08:14 PM
My dreams have been dry for the past few weeks and I was not expecting a WILD this morning. Last night I went to a reggae concert and came home around 3am, pretty drunk and high. I went to bed and woke up around 9 am. I was still really tired so after being up for about an hour I decided to go back to sleep and was surprised by a WILD.

I was falling asleep on my stomach but I usually try to WILD while lying on my back. First I become aware of some really good rock music Ive never heard playing somewhere to my left. Then I begin to hear a television playing in the back of the room and I hear people talking and walking in the hallways of my house. I focused on the rock music, it sounded like a mix of motley crue and poison, and my started to feel very tingly and I knew I was falling asleep. Now I didnt feel like i was in my bed anymore, I was in my girlfriend's room. My body begins to slide forward out of the bed and I'm lying half in the bed and half on the floor. The floor was hardwood and my girlfriend had carpet floor so now I'm absolutely sure that I'm dreaming. I check my hands and sure enough, their all blurry and swollen looking. This was very vivid and I became very excited.
But before I have time to do anything, I become aware that my mom has walked into my real-life bedroom looking for somehting and she's talking on the phone. I'm wondering "why the heck would my mom be in my room especially while im sleeping?" but I try to ignore her so I can resume my dream when she walks out. She stands near my bed and I'm aware that she's hovering over me while talking on the phone. When she finally does walk out, I can't fall asleep anymore and I realize my mom never even walked into my room and that I was still dreaming.
I feel like I learned alot about LDing here but next time I hope to accomplish more with a WILD and to remain asleep longer.
    10. El Camino Real

      by , 06-08-2013 at 04:13 PM
Looks like I need to go back to my "stop falling for false awakenings" and "stop missing dreamsigns" fundamentals. Still a fun dream, and got to try out a new teleport method (with mixed results.)

      Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

      Lucid #102: El Camino Real

I'm at a lucid dreaming camp with lots of people from my past. Throughout the day, we swim and boat in the lake, walk by the lakeside, and do various crafts. I tell everyone that "it's too late for me. I took galantamine and it didn't work. Let's get the rest of you lucid." I teach them about dreamsigns, awareness, and even supplements. I'm frustrated that I've failed to have a lucid dream but I figure maybe I'll feel better if some of the other camp participants can have a lucid.

This goes on for a really long time and eventually I run across Britney Spears eating a blueberry muffin in one of the hallways. She complains that her career is in a slump. I suggest that she would be a perfect spokesperson for blueberry muffin sales. She's thrilled with the idea. In celebration, she takes a staggeringly huge, very unladylike bite out of the muffin, paper and all. I feel incredibly savvy and very proud of myself.

From there, I have a false awakening: Wife and I are starting our day and she switches on the TV. (She never does this in the morning.)The music video for Madonna's "Like a Virgin" is playing on the TV. Her love interest is the guy who played the mummy in The Mummy movies. After the first verse, the TV switches to a 3d rendering of The Killers performing in front of the university Wife and I attended. "That's The Killers," she says. (She doesn't know what they look like.) We're sitting in a cafeteria now, watching people order food while I complain about how I failed to realize I was dreaming just a moment ago when it was so obvious. Some guy carrying a tray of food totally wipes out and gets spaghetti all over himself. Wife laughs when this happens, which seems cruel and out of character. (Big dreamsign. She thinks the part in Karate Kid where Daniel-San spills spaghetti on himself and everybody laughs is super mean.)

Now I'm staring out of a window in some kitchen, feeling sorry for myself that I didn't get lucid. I think that I could be dreaming right now, but everything is just too vivid. And yet... it finally dawns on me. I look over at Wife preparing food at the kitchen counter and it's so real that it almost costs me my lucidity. I decide that I'd better get moving.

The next room is a darkened dining room with an elegantly set table and an unlit candelabra. It's dark in the room and I decide that it would be best to leave the house, so I head for a wall and phase through it. There's no scene beyond the wall, and I wind up in the void.

I quickly rub my hands together and keep walking, thinking that I'll try a new teleport method out of the void, building on an idea that PennyRoyal had suggested. I place my fingers in front of my eyes and imagine them gently wiggling. Pretty soon my hands take shape in front of me and I begin to imagine a new scene behind them -- the Alamo, the arranged meeting spot with Art. Once I feel like the scene's ready, I move my hands aside and find myself in...

... Silicon Valley, walking along El Camino Real. There's even a roadsign marking out the intersection of "82" (El Camino Real) and "93" (unknown road.) It's a beautiful day, typical perfect weather for the South Bay. I jog up a residential street, and a lady power-walking with her dog gives me a friendly wave. I wave back. I know that I have tasks that I'm forgetting, but they refuse to come to mind.

Moving a bit further along the street, I pass my old friend Wang. I ask him how he's been and he says, "I can't talk right now. I've got to be careful not to catch a cold." When I accept this, he breaks into a laugh like he really pulled one over on me. "I'm just kidding!" he says. "I know that you're dreaming this!" He shouts across the street to a lady who's watering her lawn. "Do you know he's dreaming all of this?" I'm a little distracted by how hyper-realistic Wang looks. His lips move flawlessly with the words he's speaking. I wonder how it's possible for all of this to fit inside my head.

The woman is dark-haired, mid-40s, clad in sweat pants. "Oh, like that 'lucid dreaming'? I've always wanted to do that." I respond with a few encouraging words and jokingly say something along the lines of "better make sure that you're not dreaming right now, too." She and Wang laugh and I say, "You know what? Let me show you guys a couple of things." With that, I hope onto the trunk of a parked car and leap to to top of another parked car, intending from there to take off in flight. For some reason the flying doesn't happen, though, and I wind up hovering face-first a few inches off of the ground. Fortunately, this is still cool enough to impress.

"Guys," I tell them, "I'm going to try another teleport. It was good talking to you." They say goodbye, and I put my hands over my eyes again, trying once again to imagine the Alamo. I give it a little longer to incubate this time, waiting until I can "see" the structure fairly well in my mind. But when I remove my hands, I'm somewhere else near Palo Alto. I can see the Stanford Foothills. The vision out of my left eye looks odd, sort of like I have one messed up contact lens. I ignore it, take to the air, and fly just a bit before
      the dream ends.
    11. 8th June 2013 Weird game, Radio voice, MiniLD

      Dream recall from today's naps.

I was watching playthrough of some video game that was third person game and the main character was weird white robot thing with three antennas on the top of the head. There was one level that was in white city, there were a few buildings and it was full of secrets, but player decided to skip them. Then i was looking up those secrets and was playing the game, one of secrets was on the top of the highest building, and only way there was through some difficult platforming. . At the top there was an entrance into brown area with Doom-like textures and some items. While getting back down game transformed.... into a lego of all things and i broke antennas on character's head, i was confused. Weird radio like voice started playing somewhere and...
      I wake up
there's still this weird voice, so i must be dreaming, i am about to rub hands but i wake up.

      1) Some brief dream after 1st Awakening. Recall a reddish or greenish (or both) galaxy when I was woken up by my alarm.

      2) Working backstage at or watching a show at a school. Mix of my middle school and high school. Walked through the halls and outside, found a friend and a former classmate. Semi-lucid / lucid.
    13. Awkward Dinners, Misplacing Guitars, FILD Attempts, and Slackin' it

      by , 06-08-2013 at 06:06 AM (TangaNdoto's Dream Journal)
Oh boy oh boy, have I been slacking. Somehow I managed to have a lucid and almost successfully get back into the dream with the FILD technique, but I haven't actually been on the forums for a few days. Damnit. I need to work on my consistency with these types of things. Really.
Let's start with a dream I had a few days ago that I now only vaguely remember due to my laziness. My older brother had gotten a new girlfriend and now we were all going to go to dinner with her, and the dream was two dinners. The first one went fine, and then during the second one I got into a bit of a fight with my brother and elbowed him.
That's it. Look how vague that is. That's what happens when you wait instead of writing down the dream as soon as possible. By the way, I probably had a lot of dreams before this about Game of Thrones, because I went on some episode-watching sprees before going to bed. I can't remember any of those dreams, though. So, on to the second dream and the lucid.
The second dream I can remember in a bit more detail. There was some event going on at school, I can't remember exactly what, but I wanted to bring in my guitar to play I think during lunch. Anyway, I bring it in and we have the event and I don't even end up playing it, I think. Then, when I'm going out of the school with one of my friends who we shall call M ( stereotypically, I know ). M and I are on our way out of the school to go and get into our parents' cars, I think, where of course our parents are waiting for us. By the way, the event takes place somewhere that is not actually in my actual school, and is a sort of warmly lit amphitheater type place. Anyway, on the way of going out to get into the cars and see our parents I realize that I've left the guitar back in the amphitheater so I think " Well, I'll just leave it and get it the next day I come in to school." But then I realize that this is the last day of school and I won't be back until about 3 months, so I say crap, I guess I'll go get it. M goes with me, I think I ask him, and I'm not sure if we actually go back into the amphitheater and make it that far, but I do have memories of seeing the guitar there, along with what was the tuner, which I remembered I left there too. But let's just say on the way, because I'm not completely sure, we meet this Asian kid who does actually go to the school, although I can't remember his name because he's I think one class above me so I don't really know him that well or see him a lot. Anyway, my friend M stops and talks to him and he's wearing one of those graphic shirts that says something like " My ( strange helicopter thing ) is better than you're " or something like that. The weird thing about it was, it had this plastic sort of round plastic thing that had the strange helicopter thing, which I can't remember the name of exactly, something like X10 or like that, in the box and foam or something under it and you were supposed to spin the helicopter thing around with a handle that was on it to clear out some of the foam, which I did. After that I just remember being a bit worried that I wasn't going to have time to get the guitar and being a little annoyed at M.
I think it was at this point that I went lucid, and lifted my hands to my face and then rubbed them, but I think I'm just going to try to focus on my surroundings next time. I think always focusing so much on my hands may be one of the reasons that I keep waking up.
The good thing is that when I woke up this time I tried to FILD with the technique, and I think I came close several times to going back into the dream. My ears kept making loud wooshing noises and my vision kept clouding up with white at the same time that the woosh got louder. I think that I would have successfully gotten back into the dream if it weren't for my mom talking outside my door. Damnit. Oh well, the next time I exit out of a dream I'll try it again. But let's stop the damn slacking! Yeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhhh.
    14. 6/6/13 (4:30-6:30am)

      by , 06-08-2013 at 04:12 AM
Fair warning, this dream is a little graphic. If you are squeamish and have an active imagination, you probably shouldn't read it.

Anyway, this is my first LD since joining dream views, and I actually almost forgot it, but luckily I remembered it on my way to work once I woke up all the way. I started off in my workplace wondering if I was in a dream. I thought to myself "No, of course this is real. But I guess I'll do a RC anyway." I pinched my nose shut, closed my mouth, and breathed in deeply. To my surprise, though, I could breathe! I found myself ecstatic, but quickly subdued this feeling and tried to calm down. I looked down at my hands, but not for nearly long enough. When I looked up I was overcome with an urge to leave the building, thinking that staying in a familiar place would make me lose lucidity (I think "Inception" may have been coloring my opinion here). The problem is, I was so worried about getting out the door that I didn't stop to think what would be on the other side. As it turns out, it would end up being a doorway out of lucidity. Normally this would be disappointing, but my subconscious saved me and placed me into a scenario that I was planning on LDing about, a scenario that was actually improved by me not knowing that it wasn't real. It placed me into a full blown zombie apocalypse.

The doorway teleported me into a school gymnasium. People were huddled on the bleachers and crowding the hardwood court, they seemed scared and shaken. A voice came over the intercom. It said that several riots had broken out around town due to a sudden outbreak of what appeared to be rabies. The voice advised the crowd to stay calm, stay in the building, and wait for the police to sort out the situation. I turned to the DC I was with and we exchanged a look of skepticism. We knew better. We knew that someone in the gym was probably bitten, and it was only a matter of time before they turned. The packed gymnasium was just a bloodbath waiting to happen. We opened up the equipment closet and each grabbed a baseball bat, then headed out of the building towards the parking lot. If our suspicions were right, the bats would come in handy.

Once in the parking lot, we headed towards the DC's SUV. As we got closer I noticed his rear window hatch was open, but other than that everything seemed normal. I climbed in the passenger seat while he started the car, and soon enough we were on our way down the road. As we drove I got my first view of the creatures. Their skin was mottled and gray, hair falling out in patches, shambling aimlessly. As we passed by their heads turned to us and they started to head towards our car. Suddenly, we swerved out of the way of a small group feeding on a corpse in the middle of the road. The quick jerk startled me so much that I almost did not notice the cold dead hand that grabbed my shoulder.

A zombie had crawled in through the open hatch and was attempting to bite the driver. The only thing saving the DC from sure death was the head rest between his neck and the snapping jaws of the undead monstrosity. I tried swinging my baseball bat at the creature, but there was not enough room to muster a swing powerful enough to destroy its brain. The DC yanked his emergency brake and shouted out "Grab the shotgun in the back seat!" I shoved the zombie aside, reached back, and grabbed the shotgun laying across the floor. As I pumped a round into the chamber the zombie turned its attention towards me. I tried to aim, but there was not enough room to shoulder the gun. Quickly compensating, I pressed the butt of the gun firmly against the passenger door. I leveled the barrel at the zombie's head and went to pull the trigger, but at the last moment its undead arm crashed down on the gun and pushed it out of the way. The shot exploded forward, impacting its right shoulder, blowing off chunks of rotten flesh and bone. With its arm now dangling at its side, the creature fell backwards into the door. Before it could recover I pumped a fresh round into the chamber, ejecting a spent shell onto the dashboard. Once again, I took aim at its head as it started towards me and pulled the trigger. This time the shot found its mark. The zombies head exploded with violent force, spraying grey matter and blood all over the rear window.

It was a close call, but my first tango with the undead had resulted in success. At this point, the DC handed me a revolver and told me to close the rear window. I clambered back over the seats and found two zombies shambling towards us on the road. I leveled the revolver at the firsts head and squeezed the trigger, its neck jerked back as it fell to the ground. I cocked the hammer back, aimed at the second, and it fell like the first as we pulled away. I put my head out the window and reached to pull it closed when I noticed a third zombie (missing its legs with its entrails hanging out the back) clinging to the bumper. A swift jab with the baseball bat knocked it loose, screaming at us as we drove away.

A short way down the road our SUV started to sputter and slowed to a halt. We were out of gas. The dream jump cuts to a different scene here. Me and the DC had joined another small group of survivors, three I think, and we were driving in a van. Down the road, we passed by an elementary school bus pulled over on the side of the road. There were children inside, but none were left alive. Some were slumped against the bloodied windows, their pulses long since gone. Others were clawing to get out, there mouths bloodied and agape.

We soon turned off onto a dirt road surrounded by foliage. Further down this road, we approached a pile of leaves blocking our approach. When the van plowed through it, we suddenly lurched forward and slammed to a halt. The leaves were concealing a massive pot hole that the van was now half submerged in. I tucked the revolver into my waistband, shouldered the shotgun, and our group stepped out of the van. As we examined the damage done, I heard a rustling in the bushes behind us. A figure emerged from the foliage and I leveled my shotgun at it. I quickly took notice that it wasn't like the other creatures. Its body was devoid of hair, its face misshapen and lopsided (It very closely resembled Sloth from the Goonies), but most importantly it wasn't attacking us. Without warning, it shouted out "Now!", and many more popped out of the bushes to surround us. Two were armed with rifles, the rest with makeshift spears and melee weapons. I dropped my shotgun to the ground and our group surrendered to these hideous creatures.

We were marched in a single file line to the edge of a quarry. Inside I could see regular humans in shackles swinging pickaxes at block of white rock, with more creatures armed with spears keeping close watch. We soon found out that these creatures were actually infected humans, but discovered that drinking pepto bismol kept them from turning (oh, dream logic. you crack me up). The then told us that we were now their slaves, and we would be put to work mining bismuth (the active ingredient in pepto bismol) in order to keep them alive. This didn't sit well with me, however, so I pulled out the revolver still tucked into my waistband and put two rounds each into the rifle bearing guards. My group made a break for a nearby river, as I covered our retreat, brandishing my now empty revolver at the poorly armed creatures. They did not give chase.

I was the last to jump in the river and experienced another jump in time. We washed up on a boat ramp downriver in an industrial park. As we clambered onto the dock, we saw a warehouse with two zombies standing out front. One of the dream characters grabbed a rebar club (a loose piece of concrete with a rebar steel rod hanging out) and approached one of the zombies. He swung the club at its legs like a warhammer, sending the zombie to the ground, then lifted the club over his head and brought it crashing down, crushing the zombies skull with a satisfying crunch. I bum rushed the other zombie and shouldered into it, also knocking it to the ground. I proceeded to curb stomp its head over and over until there was nothing left but a flat mash of bone, blood, and brains.

We entered the warehouse to find a machine shop devoid of life, undead or otherwise. I began scavenging for weapons and the rest of the DC's followed suit. I managed to find two crowbars, and fastened some sharp pieces of metal to broom handles to make spears. A few minutes passed and our group was well armed, just in time to see a zombie horde approaching our warehouse. We readied our weapons and opened the bay door to meet our attackers, but as the dying light of sunset entered the building....

I unfortunately woke up. What a shame, it would've been an epic battle. Still though, this was a great first lucid experience and I'm glad I could share it.

    15. Too much indecisiveness

      by , 06-08-2013 at 12:35 AM
      Date: 7 June

      Total sleep time: 8+ hrs

      Pre bed: SJW, B6

Sleep quality and WBTB: I have been sleeping like a sloth all week long. One thing I have changed in my WBTB routine was to switch from using an alarm to using natural wakes. This has worked out partially fine. I do wake up naturally 2-3 times after sleeping 4-5 hrs. I think that in this way I am allowing my body to determine the best time for WBTB, instead of me forcefully using the alarm. The only problem is that, out of fear not to cause insomnia and possibly due to laziness, my WBTBs were not as serious as they should have been, thus not raising alertness to desired for LD levels. Will have to work on that.

Dream recall: While my recall has been somewhat reduced by my sleepiness, I have additionally been skimming my dreams. I have been putting only keywords instead of journaling, which has allowed me to...sleep more. The dreams weren't too interesting, so there wasn't much that I have missed apart from a brief lucid yesterday, that I couldn't access at all. I think that's fine so far.

      WBTB: peppermint oil capsules

Dream1 DILD: I missed the transition. I suddenly find myself in front of my parents' place but the way it was a few years ago. I spend some time looking around, feeling happy. Then the neighborhood begins to morph into other buildings from my home town, so I stop staring at them, because I feel that I am causing the change. I check out my hands and they are in a mudra. After yesterday's discussion, I now wonder if I should try meditating in the dream or try to recall a past memory. I spend too much time in idleness and the dream escapes. I find myself in the void.

I feel that if I wake up I can successfully DEILD back. I am in the void and not back in bed yet but get confused because I feel my body? Obviously this is my dream body and some dream is starting to form, but I think that I am in my bed feeling my real body. In real life I am sleeping in my bed, but the body I feel while in the void is sitting in a chair. I am too dumb to realize that this is my dream body, get irritated with the strange position I have assumed, try to change it and lie down? I struggle in the dark. Then I wake up in another dream.

Dream2: Short FA, where I am in bed, reviewing the event and now completely sure after the dream that whatever I couldn't remember yesterday was indeed a very short LD where I didn't get much done.

I wake up (left side) for real and take key notes

Dream3: An elegant Asian woman talks about investment opportunities. She recommends that Western countries allocate 50 percent of FDI to China and the other 50 to Malaysia. This interview happens during some event. While this is happening I hear a piano playing. It is part of the melody from Mika's Grace Kelly. The sound is astonishing.

Fragment4: A classmate follows me around kissing me. While it feels pleasant I try to avoid him because I have a bf.

Fragment5: Me and a friend enter in a luxurious store where they sell toothpaste. It slowly changes and is now some kind of bar full of hookers.

Fragment6: I look into the nearby building and Christian Slater is there with more hookers having some night party

Fragment7: Me and bf, no comments

      ----------------------------------------------------------
      Progress with this month's goals:

      - Do 100 RCs (added)
      - notice real life DS 100 times and RC (added)
      - 10 proper WBTB attempts -> days (3/10)
      - 10 morning RCs (1/10)
      - 2 proper WILD attempts (0/2)
      - task flexibility
      - journal flexibility
