1. Dream - A Haunted Monster House & Leave Her Behind

by , 09-15-2017 at 01:31 PM
Date of Dream: WED 6 SEP - 2017

Dream No. 191 - Separated Sections

Dream 191 A - A Haunted Monster House
I don't remember what happened at the start of the dream. From where I do remember, I was at some strange place. Some happy looking place, claiming to contained all these “haunted monster” themed escape rooms. From what I heard from the staff the monsters were very violent and gory and some of them could potentially even kill you. The dream camera visualised one of the monsters to be a sandy coloured, boney and bloody mess. The lady told me I was doing hole number 14. I looked down there and my heart literally sank... I was not ready to go down there all by myself.

I then heard that participants would have a partner with them. I didn't know who my partner was going to be, the selections were random. I soon discovered that my partner was actually NN and I was ecstatic to hear this. I was relieved too because I know he would protect me and he wouldn't mind me holding onto him. I then came across NN who was in the foyer of the place, crouching down. I found out earlier that we were going into hole number 14 and so I told him. I then led him to the whole to show him.

I could tell that he and I were about to go down there as things started to get really scary. We came across this sweet bar but the lollies looked all weird. Some looked like different coloured lamingtons and had this blood smeared all over them. I had another look down the hole and came to the realisation that we were going to be going down there very soon. I turned to NN and told him I was absolutely scared. The dream ended before we decided to go down the hole.

Dream 191 B - Leave Her Behind
I don't remember most of this dream. From where I do remember, I was out somewhere with my dad and my brother. We were at this shopping strip and I wanted to go and look at all the shops there. My dad wasn't too keen on letting me go but I went anyway. There was one particular store I went into with my brother. I ended up falling asleep on the shop floor. When I woke up (still in dream), I discovered that dad had gone home... My brother was still with me and told me. There was now also a friend from my brother's university with us. For some unknown reason, I was trapped in the store and couldn't get out, it was nothing scary though.

The dream scene changed to the Mario characters who apparently heard about the rejection of me by my dad. There were three main characters in this scene: Princess Peach, Rosalina and Shy Guy. Rosalina was saying that they needed someone left-handed to pull the hoist and this would be the Shy Guy. An orange suited guy got onto a huge coil of rope and started pulling down on it. The dream went back to where I was and now me, my brother and his uni friend were outside. That's all I can remember about this dream.

Non-lucid
I'm in my house, and I have a really big pimple in my armpit. I squeeze it, and only a little bit of pus comes out. I keep squeezing it until something red pokes out. Thinking it's a drop of blood, I still squeeze it. A tiny fire ant squirms out. I crush it before it gets far. Now when I squeeze it, it hurts, and more ants are coming out. I'm trying to kill all of them. When they bite me, it hurts. A particularly big one gets stuck, and once I squeeze it out, that's the last straw.
I go to mom, and tell her about my pimple. She says there's nothing she can do. I feel very helpless.
Then, I wake up.

3. "Climbing the Tree" and "Battle of the Bulge(s)"

by , 11-15-2014 at 06:18 PM (Threecat's Dreamtime)
I wake around 4:30 and induce. I am with my father on his porch. Suddenly, a Winnebago pulls up to the porch, and some guys get out and begin stripping his tomato plants of fruit. Then then get into the camper and drive off. I run out into the driveway to record a tag number. The tag has been removed, but their "camper tag," which is as large as a billboard, has the tag number (can't remember it now). I run back and tell my dad I have the number. I recite it once incorrectly, then correct myself. We get into his truck and give chase.

While driving, he is not paying attention. A woman's car, pulling a trailer behind her, is sitting in the road. My father smashes into her, knocking her little car out of the way. I think this is hilarious in the dream and laugh. My dad looks at me.

"Do you remember who I am?" he ask.

"Of course," I say. "You're my dad."

He nods, as though he is satisfied. "Son, you're dreaming this dream."

I turn around to look behind us at the wreckage, and realize that this is a very odd scenario to be in. I nose pinch. Can't breath entirely, but can breathe somewhat. Am worried about leaping from the vehicle if it really isn't a dream.
Can't remember how I prove it to myself, but the next thing I know I am waving goodbye to my dad, telling him to be careful. I then leap from the vehicle. I try flying a bit, and can't, so I settle on climbing a tree near me. It is basically just a tall, bent over trunk, with no branches. I wrap my arms around it and lift myself into the air. It is hard work (harder than it should be!) but I am able to climb much better than in real life. I get a pretty good distance up befor dropping to the ground. The dream begins to fade, so I strip off my gloves (wtf) and begin rubbing my hands against the asphalt to stabilize. Oops, the dream is fading out anyway.

I "wake up," and am reading FryingMan's DJ. It is interactive, and the POV (1st, 2nd, 3rd) begins changing to indicate whether or not he was lucid. For some reason, this makes me think that perhaps I have not woken up at all, but am still dreaming. I nose pinch.Lucid. However, something catches my eyeand I lose lucidity before finallywaking up.

After a short WBTB with wife (it's about 7 when I get up), I induce and return to sleep. Long semi-lucid. A psychiatrist is talking to me about my dreams, and investigating my dream recall and lucidity. She slowly turns into a very cute psychiatrist wearing glasses. She is mostly naked, and is arching her back very provocatively. For some reason I don't jump on her, but the dream continues. Next thing I know, I am in a boat house and being assailed by faceless men with boners. Yep. I have a pole-axe type weapon, and am fending them off. However, during the dream I have the distinct impression that none of this is real at all. I jump around the building, avoiding the water in the center, and chopping people up as I go. Don't catch me, you dicks!

I manage to climb outside onto the roof of the boathouse. The roof is flimsy and made of plastic, and I feel that I might collapse it easily, or that it might topple over as I move towards the edge. I know if I can just jump into this water, I'll be OK. I leap in. The water feels amazingly real, and but it is totally dark beneath. I suddenly think, "It's a dream!" and open my WL eyes.
I can see the room barely, and can also see my sleep mask, so am satisfied. I close my eyes and lie still. Eventually, my dream hands and arms settle back beside me, and another dream begins: some stage curtain draws back to reveal a cartoon singing chicken. The chicken is singing to itself. I watch, waiting for the dream to fully settle. Unfortunately, something distracts me and I wake up.

4. "Dream Difficulties"

by , 11-08-2014 at 05:56 PM (Threecat's Dreamtime)
Wake from an NLD. I lie still and wait to DEILD. Body begins to roll to the side, which signals beginning of REM sleep. I roll off of the mat and fall through space. Eyes flicker open somewhat, and I can see stars in a black sky. I accidentally open my WL eyes, though, because I can suddenly see light streaming in from beneath my sleep mask. I close them and wait for my "dream eyes" to open on their own. They do, and I see I am flying swiftly over a dark, deep purple ocean. The stars are still out. I can feel the wind on my face. Ahead of me, on the horizon, a white number one appears.

Memory is fuzzy here. Certain I did not lose consciousness, but unsure of how narrative unfolded entirely. I land down in the water, and there is some sort of game being played by a bunch of DCs. I try to persuade one of them that she is strong enough to lift me up and throw me out of the water. She says she is not. "Oh come on," I say. "Look at those triceps!" She laughs and tries to throw me. She just sort of pushed me out of the water. She says she can't. "But really," I say, "You can." I'm trying to get the dream to bend to my will a bit! She tries again (and throws me a bit higher) and reiterates that she can't do it.

I mess around for a bit more (can't remember what I was doing--interacting with DCs, asking questions and what not, and I specifically remember rubbing my hands to stabilize--and then it occurs to me to complete the tasks of the month. I think about what the tasks are, and remember the leaf task. I am in a back yard. I begin thinking I will materialize the leaves by pretending they are on the other side of a wooden fence. I say, "You're around this fence!" and run around the fence. I briefly see the outline of what looks like a pile of leaves, but then that pops out of existence. I try two more times, and nothing happens at all.

I run around for a bit, thinking I might find a pile of leaves somewhere. Nope. I then think to call for help on my phone, and pull it out of my pocket. I figure it will take too long to punch in the numbers though and toss it away. Instead, I head inside to get help from a DC.

Near me is a blond girl. She attempted to assist me earlier in the dream, but I rebuffed her because DCs are too unreliable. I now ask her if she knows where any leaves are. We go inside the house, and she nods and points to some storage boxes. One of them is black and I open it up. Inside there are only Christmas lights. "These are just Christmas lights," I say, and then get annoyed. This always happens. DCs always trick me and waste my time. I run out of the house. The DC runs after me, trying to get me to come back. I ignore her. Looking around, I see a bunch of leaves lying around on the grass. I think I might be able to rake them up, but then pull an Ophelia and scoop some up in my arms. Some of them are crackly, but others are rotten and gross. I make a very small pile. I look at it and decide I'm not jumping in that.

I try to think of the other basic. Oh yeah, tell a kid they are dreaming. I am on a path in the woods, and a jogger is coming towards me. She is a kid, maybe like a high school student, but I check just to be sure:

"How old are you?" I ask.

She stops running and faces me. "16."

"You're dreaming!" I say.

"If you don't shut up, I'm going to hit you," she says.

I back off, and she continues jogging.

I continue on the path until I find a small cabin/mobile home (don't ask) in the woods. Inside are some DCs. More conversation that I can't remember. However, I hear voices up inside a treehouse-like loft. They are discussing someone messing up their abilities to dream. I ascend the wooden ladder up, and see two people I know semi-well from WL. However, I understand that they are DCs and not their real selves. They are crouched over a dream journal. When they see me enter the room, the girl (it's a girl and a guy) moves to cover up the DJ so I can't read it.

"It's just me," I say. "The dreamer." They are smiling now in a mocking way. I sort of lose it here, and demand to know "why you guys (meaning DCs in general) always tease me?"

"Because we can," the girl responds.

"But lots of dreamers get help from their DCs. They teach them fun things like how to fly. You guys always try to trick me."

The girl now laughs and says, "You can't even fly."

I get mad and grab the guy in my fist. He instantly turns into a small, faceless rag doll. The transition was seamless and sort of shocked me. The girl disappeared altogether. I fling the doll down on the ground and leave.

Back in the house, I remember the advanced task--cut off your hand and serve it up for Thanksgiving dinner. I look around and see a half-eaten plate of food: there is some cornbread there and some other stuff I don't remember. I realize that if I hadn't scared the DCs away I could have served them my hand. I leave and begin running back to the first house (where I tried to complete the leaf task.

Once inside the original kitchen, I approach the block of knives. They all appear to be light, serrated blades, and I am not keen on sawing through my wrist. I am hoping for a cleaver, and find a small one, but it is not heavy enough. I finally settle on a knife that probably does not exist in WL, but resembles a butcher knife. I RC to make sure I am dreaming. I then (to be honest, fearing the pain) test the knife by slicing into my index finger. I don't feel anything, and think maybe I missed (lol). However, a line appear on my finger, and I start bleeding. The dream quickly fades and
I wake up.

Lucid #36

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I attempt WILD (It might have been a FA because I think my curtains weren't there)
After the HI settles I find myself in my room. I do a RC and I am certain I am dreaming. I keep laying on my bed to stabilize the dream. I yell "Stability" and "Clarity" and my voice sounds like I am speaking in a slow motion video. Although the dream quality doesn't change. I look at a poster of a soccer-player I have in my dream-room and the dream calms and gets really vivid. I decide it is time for me to stand up so I start with sitting on my bed and slowly get up. The dream vividness fades a little when I move but I ignore that..
I remember the eyeball task and stare straight ahead. I take my right hand and move it to my right eye. I take all my five fingers and push it arround the eyeball and it comes out with slight discomfort but no pain. It makes a squishy sound and I have an eyeball in my palm. It looks pretty realistic and I get a little freaked out, although I keep looking at it. It is white with green-brown eyes
(I have really dark brown eyes in WL). I can make out some little blood-vessels and the optic nerve is still attached it and fans out in litlle sub nerve endings leaving it looking like a red fern . I also notice some liquid in my palm but then quickly decide to throw that thing away . It hits the wall and I decide to wake myself up to journal (Worst decicision ever)...

6. Tales from the Dream Realm: Part 2

by , 08-14-2014 at 06:03 AM
Chapter 1: Brain Grubs
The events that transpire I can’t well explain
I stuck some white grubs into my brain
Carnivorous grubs these creatures were
And when I did this nobody stirred
One after one I placed into my ear
They crawled through my eardrums but I could still hear
I did not scream nor did I care
You must understand I wasn’t all there
What happened next? Well they ate my brain!
Why I did this? I can’t well explain.

Chapter 2: Trashcan Girl
So my friends and I were strolling through a camp. I don’t know what friends I was with, nor do I know what kind of camp it was but it was not the kind of camp a person wants to be at. I am guessing it was something like a refugee camp but I cannot be sure. I do know that this camp was inhabited by Chinese prostitutes and their pimps. It was the hour of twilight and my friends were wandering through the streets of this camp and came down a dark ally. There was a trashcan in the middle of the ally. We didn’t think anything of it until a prostituste popped right out of it. She climbed out without saying a word and just stood there. Confused, we were about to say something when another prostitute came in with their pimp. She peeked in the trashcan for her fellow night girl and was shocked when she could not find her. Of course Trashcan Girl was standing right fucking there but, you know, whatever.
“Excuse me,” she said to us, “But have you seen our friend. She was just in here but now I can’t seem to find her.”
“Here I am!” Trashcan Girl suddenly exclaimed. Happy to have found their friend the three of them leave the ally and continue on with their business leaving us to try and make sense of what had just happened.

Chapter 3: Ponies in Dead Space
I was not in my own body but rather I was a passive observer as I observed through the eyes of another denizen. And who was this denizen? Non other than Applejack! Applejack was walking through a giant medical spaceship. It was like a moving hospital where injured travelers could go. A necromorph outbreak had taken place on the ship but the workers were doing all they could to make sure that this did not interfere with their work. After all, they had important work to do. People were counting on them. Applejack was on her way to see my grandfather who had come in contact with the infection some how. He had not come in direct contact with a necro so he could be saved but he had to go through some sort of industrial grade decontamination machine.

Applejack was following the way-point that was programmed into her rig armor to find my grandfather. She came across Pinkie Pie and Rarity who were playing cards at a table in front of a giant window that gave view to a big brown nebula in the background. They were having a personal conversation each one discussing some problem that was going on in their lives. Applejack attempted to chime in with her problems but they were still talking to each other.

“Darn it!” she said, “Why are y’all ignorin’ me? I got problems too.”

The princess Twilight Sparkle walked in and she said to Applejack, “You barged in to vent your problems but you completely disregarded theirs. I don’t excuse their ignoring you but what your doing is worse.” So Applejack left them to keep talking and her waypoint took her down a narrow corridor. I was able to feel what she felt as I saw what she saw. So when she became nervous about what may be waiting ahead, I could feel as though I were there myself. Before continuing Applejack made a point to check her Strife Specibus to see what kind of weapon she used. I don’t remember the weapon she had. She also checked the fetch modus in her sylladax and saw that she had some kind of modus that turned objects into apples. With all of this noted she continued on. She turned the corridor to find herself in between two steel shelves much like the shelves we have in the Walmart backrooms. There were three pallets of mulch that were blocking her way. She proceded to climb over them. She was half way over when the dream ended.
7. "10 Second Rule"

by , 08-09-2014 at 03:57 PM (Threecat's Dreamtime)
I am in high school again, and am walking to my bus after school. Already lucid, but not very much -- don't remember how I got there! I am walking with a short, chubby black kid. I have just done something not very nice (don't remember what) and think I need to make it up to this DC. I give the kid a big hug.

"What are you doing?" he asks in disgust.

C/R my response. I think of how I might win this DC over. I reach into my pocket, hoping for some candy. I find instead a toy from childhood:

BAD! CANADIANS BEING INSULTED!-roamin-buffalo.jpg

I give this to the DC and tell him it is a chocolate bar (?) DC takes a bite and complains that it is not a chocolate bar, and that it is indeed a plastic toy. I take the toy back and try to morph it into a chocolate bar. It's outward appearance changes somewhat, but not enough to be food.

The DC then asks, "Is this that kind of candy that once I chew it, it becomes candy in my mouth?"

"Yeah, sure," I say, still searching through my pockets.

He begins eating it again.

"Oh my god," he cries, "It's glorious! It's like I'm flying through space on an imperial starship!"

I look down and see a piece of the action figure/candy on the ground. Yep, I pick it up and eat it. It tastes sweet but nothing spectacular. Definitely not flying through space. I
wake up.
8. 2nd LUCID in one night, but gross!

by , 04-10-2014 at 10:22 AM
I cannot believe it: a second lucid in one night! However this one was embarrassing and gross. My awareness and control were low.

I was in a hotel room with coworkers, and one of my coworkers was lounging on a bed with me - yikes. My boss was saying how he now gets 2 weeks off because of Obama, and while it does not apply to us contractors yet, but the rule may change, and we may even get all of December off.

Suddenly I realized I had made number two in my pants earlier without realizing it. And then I farted vehemently. Then farted a second time. Thoroughly embarrassed, I appologized to my coworker without looking at him. I thought "This can't be happening!" And that's when I realized that thankfully this is a dream.

However my awareness was so low that I still thought I had to dispose of my number two in a bathroom somewhere before doing anything else in this dream. I had wrapped it in a napkin. Luckily it was small and dry.

I thought, since this is a dream, I just need to walk into any door and expect there to be a bathroom on the other side. I picked a swinging door that was like a closet door sort of. It swung inward to reveal another door. And then another. An endless set of doors. I was a few doors in when I realized it was just door after door, so I turned around but even in the other direction it was just door after door. Luckily, I remembered that it is a dream, so I went into fast forward speed and quickly went through all the doors to escape this place.

I was in a resort of sort, still looking for the bathroom to dispose of my awkward package. The next door was labeled Gasthoff in German for a hotel with restaurant. I did not want to go into the restaurant for some reason (low awareness). I overheard someone say that there used to be more people in this resort but they disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

I decided to get out of here, and finally decided to fly. I was flying over the pool, when I realized I still was holding my package, and since this was a dream and no consequences and I really should not be carrying this around in a lucid dream, I just let it go. I listened for it and heard the sploosh as it went into the pool. It was a much bigger sploosh than a small package like this should cause. I was embarrassed again. The pool made me want to swim, so I swam in the air above the pool, but then thought that even though I had thrown it into the pool this was the air above the pool and thus still contaminated by association.

I woke up soon after, and realized that this was barely a lucid given how low my awareness was that I could not even make it pleasant and stuck to the gross theme.

The main redeeming factor of this lucid was the fast forward speed to escape the endless doors płace.

9. Doggy Blood Fountain (fragment)

by , 08-25-2013 at 01:51 AM (SilverWolf's Sleep Sessions)
I do sooo well remembering my dreams for over a week--and then twice in a row my recall dips. Oh well, it's just a phase, right? Here is my very small fragment that I didn't remember until I'd been up several hours, while outside with the family pet.

Saturday, August 24th, time unknown

I'm at home, in the house. It looks exactly the same, as far as I can recall, as it does in real life. I'm petting one of our dogs, Angel. Like in real life, she has this little tumor thing on the back of her neck. As I pet her, my fingers brush the tumor, and it starts squirting blood all over the place, drenching my face and hands. She is okay, not like bleeding to death, I just caused it to start squirting. It stops a few seconds later, but my face and neck is covered, and I'm feeling a bit grossed out and shocked. I run to the bathroom to clean my hands and neck, and I notice I have some of the blood in my mouth, and I'm holding up my tongue, looking in the mirror, trying to scrape it off the bottom of my tongue.

That's all I can remember of that dream. A strange one!
10. Thurs Oct 11 (1:27-7:03)

by , 10-11-2012 at 02:41 PM (Glieuaeiel's DJ)
It's Your Destiny (6:58)

A red-haired anime girl repeatedly walks up to my character and hands him a note. Half the time, she folds it into a paper airplane and blows it at him like she's blowing a kiss. The other half is a similar animation that also involves her blowing something at him. It's obvious that only these two animations were made, and they alternate randomly for variety. In both, after she delivers the note, she uses a pink rod about the size of a penis, which turns into an umbrella, and she floats away.

Some girls I know who have played the game before tell me that no matter how you play it, your character ends up with that girl. It has something to do with your destiny. I'm resistant to this idea, but there's clearly a different girl following me around in the game to enforce my destiny. The next time I see her approach, I get ready to do battle. I'm not exactly excited at the concept. I have a premonition that this battle will involve throwing fireballs, though, so at the least it will give me inspiration for lucid dream control, when I ever have one again. [D'oh!]

Indeed, one or two golf-ball sized fireballs are thrown. We also try setting traps on various pieces of furniture, but I'm not sure exactly how to set them off. Anyway, this girl is herself not an expert at this kind of fighting, so I'm not completely flattened. Some people my age are standing in a nearby driveway (it's dusk), which complicates things, because I think we're supposed to keep our abilities a secret. As I'm looking around, I notice an uncanny coincidence: of the three groups of people standing nearby, all are holding or manipulating a car tailgate/rear bumper, and our spells start affecting all three bumpers at once. It's such a strange coincidence that I start to wonder whether maybe destiny has something to do with it.

There's a man walking around the bar, singing enthusiastically along with the background music (which is Copeland's Hoedown). Our battle ends at the same time as the music.

Gingerly (6:58)

My family is walking into a building through a room with a lot of dog poop in it. Fortunately, there's a clear path around the side. Unfortunately, my mom trips and falls into the dirty part, then rolls through the dirty part before coming to a stop. That last part was totally unnecessary. She could have stopped herself somehow. My sisters are making loud, disgusted noises.

On the way out, I consider going around the other way, but it turns out that there are a ton of cobwebs between the car and the wall of the garage. Not worth it. So I go ahead of the group back around the original way so that I can open the door. We're talking about how this was just a routine checkup for our dog, but last year's checkup was routine and it led to discovering an illness which she hasn't recovered from to this day. So we're hoping for good news, but we're worried. We're also trying to coordinate times and places, because there's something I need to go to on my own, and someone else will have to pick me up.

Burnt Sugar Cookies (6:58)

Last night, someone made SO MANY sugar cookies. Dad shows me the box. They're all a little burnt, so they're brown rather than beige. They're going to be used as rewards. Dad also shows me the container which is supposedly full of grease from all the cleaning that had to be done afterward.

We try talking to my middle sister about something stupid she's doing. Mom's been trying to convince her to stop, but she isn't listening. I decide to pipe up and try to calm things down. I admit to her that I don't know as many of the details of the situation as Mom does, but I still agree with Mom's assessment that she should stop. I try to give some reasons, but I'm not sure that she listens.

Later, we're sitting around the dinner table. Dad tells everyone about how I've solved some of my professor's "Challenge Problems." I hadn't been planning on bringing it up, because that would be bragging. But now everyone's looking at me expectantly, so I say yes, I solved two of them. "Both of which I've already seen from other sources," I add. My eldest sister says encouragingly that there's no problem with that; it's all about "unifying the notation." I nod. I'd never thought of it that way before.

Springtime Traditions (6:58)
Spoiler for Springtime Traditions:
Frags:
• Someone asks me my year in school, so I hold up three fingers. "Fourth?" they ask. I suppose the little short wall between us might have gotten in the way, so I raise my hand higher and say, "Ah, no, third," and they say, "Ah, of course." I wonder if my pinky wasn't folded over far enough the first time.
• There's a free bottle of alcohol lying around, so I grab it. Reading the label, I see that it's apparently bourbon. Excellent; I haven't tried that kind yet. [IRL I have this thing where I kind of want to try all the different kinds of alcohol, and then maybe never drink again after that. Who knows.] I put the bottle in my backpack. I still feel weird doing things like that; I feel like it should be illegal for me to possess alcohol. But it's not, anymore.
• I witness an awesome piece of scenery, and I try to impress it on my memory. It might have involved clouds.

11. Mean Basketball Team, Iron Man Suit

by
USA
, 07-19-2012 at 02:21 PM (My Nighttime Experiences)
I was playing a basketball game. I was on the worst team, so whenever I stole the ball and tried to shoot, everyone would discourage me, saying he's on team 5, he can't make it! This happened like 3 times and I missed each shot. Well after that game I followed my friend Evan to biology class, but I forgot my textbooks, so I had to go to my locker and get them real quick.

There was some circular roof of a building, which was surrounded mostly by hills so it wasn't dangerous, where me and a bunch of friends would hang out after school and play games. From this spot I could see my brother Adam flying around in an Iron Man suit.

I also saw these 2 pretty sisters with lots of makeup on, but I realized they used to be conjoined, so they would be kind of gross looking without makeup. I decided not to talk too much with them.
12. The Box Bomber And The Woman With The Nasty Crotch - 05272012 - 1st Dream

by , 05-27-2012 at 06:18 PM
This dream wasn't lucid but the imagery of the half-naked woman will haunt me for some time.

The earliest thing I recall is standing in the conferenceroom at my former job. Along with several others I am setting up food forpeople returning from a meeting where it will be announced that we haveachieved a big win, an announcement that we have been awarded a major projectwith lots of money involved. On this scale such awards happen only every fewmonths at best so this is a big deal.
One of the engineers I work with, J.W., is standing near meand talking about the project. I don’t really pay attention to the specifics, though I am glad for our success as a company. I’ll be attending the meeting, though my work on the project may not come for months.
A gathering of people has been set up on the top floor ofthe parking garage, a makeshift receiving line designed to welcome ourreturning staff with honor and fanfare. The problem is that other offices sharethe parking garage, and their clients happen to wander inadvertently throughthe receiving line. The first couple of people don’t really cause any stir, butthe third person, a large woman in a car with no roof, really causes some commotion.
The woman is older, perhaps somewhere between 55 and75,though it’s hard to determine exactly as she appears quite unhealthy and obese. She is wearing a muumuu and as the car rolls by she sticks her legs in the air, revealing her cottage cheese legs and bulbous calves. What’s really grotesqueis she has on no underwear, and her misshapen crotch is a sight that makesseveral people ill, including me.
I turn to my dad who is standing next to me in the line and ask,“Did you just see what I saw?” He confirms that he did and we both just faceaway, still looking for our expected staff. When some employees do arrive weshout and throw stuff in the air.
I make my way back inside the building and head downstairsvia the elevator. Some of the other staff members have arrived through thisfront door. I pass a group of older men dressed in suits, talking and laughingas they head in. I keep heading for the door.
As I walk out into the sun I encounter a young man in aservice uniform and cap, coming in with a load of boxes. He’s slightly blondwith a charming smile, fit though not heavily muscled. He does not seem out ofplace in any way.
“You sure have a lot of boxes there, “I say. “It’s like you’vegot a bomb or something. I recall that we had received a notice that someonehad given us a bomb threat, someone who had been causing trouble in other partsof the city, and we should be on the lookout for a person with a lot of boxes, but I do not suspect this guy. I’m joking with him when I mention bombs.
He turns slightly and his gaze settles on me. He still hashis bright smile but as he faces me the happy grin disappears, and is replacedby a look of determination. Something about the change in his demeanor alertsme that he is the bomber I’ve been told to keep an eye out for, and my fearlevel shoots up a little.
By this time I’m standing on the opposite side of my SUVfrom him. He has been unloading boxes from it and has one more box to carry inbut it is still inside the vehicle. I am standing by the open driver-side doorholding the keys, and as he reaches for the back passenger-side door to get hisbox I press the button to lock the doors.
THWUNK! All the locks go down at once.
He looks through the vehicle at me, starting to look alittle bit shocked that I’m keeping him from his bomb materials. He has his ownkey fob and presses the button to unlock the doors.
SHOONK! The locks all go up.
I know I can’t let him get in so I press the button againand hold it down so he can’t operate them from his fob. I’ve managed to keephim from getting in but there isn’t anything to stop him from coming around thevehicle and attacking me, and this realization spurns me to action. I jump intothe driver’s seat and start the vehicle, still holding down the lock button onthe key fob. I can’t risk him getting in before I get away, and without hislast box he can’t do any serious damage.
I manage to get the door shut and I start driving as fast asI can though I am going terribly slow and can’t seem to pick up speed. The viewahead is of a street on the U.T. campus and there are speed bumps along theroad. I stop worrying about my speed, not wanting to fly up if I hit a bump toofast, and instead turn my attention towards looking for a police officer. Theyseem to be abundant whenever I don’t want to find any but I can’t locate any ofthem now when I need them.
And then I wake up.

13. 02/07/12: Sickness Dreams

by , 02-08-2012 at 12:46 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
02/07/12

Note: I haven't posted dreams for quite a few days due to the fact I have been sick. I started out last Thursday by tossing my cookies and I haven't felt good since. So some of these dreams are fragments from when I was sick which means they might make even less sense than they often do… which is saying something! It seems that when I am sick to my stomach I start dreaming about food… which makes things worse! >.< I hope to get back to posting dreams regularly now.

02/02/12: Food Poison
I am in a game of Oblivion, looking around for stuff to steal, specifically I am looking for food and potion ingredients to steal since once I make a potion out of them they will no longer be flagged as stolen. So I steal a bunch of ingredients, make a bunch of potions, and sell them. In Cyrodiil, crime DOES pay! So I pick up some ingredients from a house I just broke into, I decide to eat a couple of them since that will also boost my alchemy experience level… I'm not sure of the reasoning behind that one… I eat some bread, cheese, and lettuce. I steal more food and leave. I eat a sweet cake for dessert and wash it down with an ale. I am heading for another place to get more ingredients when I start feeling yucky. Sick, like I might puke. This feeling wakes me up, but I am able to ignore it and I fall back asleep right away.

Back in Cyrodiil, I am still stealing food, and I am still feeling sick. I wonder if somehow the stolen food is tainted. I wonder if the fact the food is flagged as stolen makes it tainted somehow… eating stolen food will make me sick while eating the same food not stolen won't make me sick. That idea seems absurd, but to counter the sick feeling I go into a shop and buy some food and eat it. That only makes me feel worse… and I wake up again… this time I get up and toss my cookies.

02/03/12: My Ex-Boyfriend Wants to Eat WHAT???
I am playing Oblivion on my laptop computer, and I realize my ex boyfriend is in the room with me. He is watching me play Oblivion, and I am collecting ingredients for potions. I collect a piece of mudcrab meat from a dead mudcrab. James says that looks like it would taste good with chocolate syrup. Yuck… I collect some more ingredients and James now says he wants to eat venison with chocolate syrup. Yuck again. I tell him that sounds gross. He says not if you put it in a blender and mix it up with some eggplant and the crab meat and maybe a bit of split pea soup… he is starting to gross me out. Just listening to him makes me feel nauseous. He says if I throw up he wants to keep it… nothing mixes ingredients together better than a human stomach. Now I think I am definitely going to puke… I wake feeling ill, but fortunately I don't toss my cookies this time.

02/04/12: Keep Eating, Pig!
I am sitting at a dinner table that is piled high with everything yummy I can think of, so many sweets I can't count it all. All of it is stuff I really shouldn't eat on my diet. Chocolate cake, ice cream, pies, more cakes, candy… so much of it! I think I want to cheat on my diet a bit, so I eat a cupcake. There is a voice speaking to me that I can't locate the source of. The voice tells me to eat all I want, these sweets are calorie free! Yay! So I eat a piece of chocolate cake and a piece of lemon meringue pie. I am now quite pleasantly full. I get up to leave the table, but some force pushes me back in the chair and says I'm not done yet. Eat everything! Um… that is way too much for me to eat at one time. I tell the voice that. It keeps saying to eat. I finally eat a bit more, but that makes me feel sick. I say if I eat more I'll puke. The voice says good, go ahead and puke! I wake up feeling sick, but I don't toss my cookies.

02/05/12: No Dreams
Note: Today was one of the first days my stomach was feeling better, so I was able to sleep through the whole night… it must have been a deep sleep, as I didn't remember having a single dream.

02/06/12: Weave Spell
I am in a concert hall, and I am wandering through the place just exploring. I see there is a band I don't recognize playing there, but I do recognize the lead singer. It is Bret Michaels from the band Poison. I am surprised to see him there when I don't recognize the group. I discover, and this doesn't seem odd to me, that I can step sideways and move through dimensions, just slide from one to the next. I do that and the band changes. Bret Michaels seems to slide, too. He appears and keeps singing. Is he also a traveler? I side step through several more worlds, and he follows. I go outside of the concert hall and I find there are trees around, and it is night. I don't see Bret Michaels now. I hear someone approaching. Just a bit too late I get the feeling I don't want to be seen. An old man and an old woman emerge from the trees with a shotgun. The man points the shotgun at me. I grab it by the barrels… it's a double barrel… and I bend the gun like it's made of paper. I hear some strange chants coming from the trees, from all around. "Weave spell, inerevum sancotatum, weave spell," it says over and over. The gun is changing forms in my hand, responding to that chant. It is trying to reform around my hand and aim at me again. I block that effect, but I seem to be in a contest of wills with the unseen spell caster. I am still doing that when Bret Michaels comes out of the concert building and plays guitar for a bit… which causes the elderly couple to retreat into the trees.

02/07/12: Unconscious Theft
I am at school, though it isn't one of the classes I am taking in waking life. I am taking notes in a notebook, writing down as fast as I can to keep up with the instructor. When the class ends I get up to go get something to eat. I head down to the cafeteria and buy a burger, fries, and a drink. I am sitting at the table eating when someone from my class comes over and is pissed off. I wonder why. I then see that I have their backpack and purse sitting beside me. I don't even remember picking that stuff up… when did I do that? She wants to know why I have her stuff, which is a logical thing to wonder. I am thinking that if I tell her I have no clue, and I don't remember picking it up, that will sound like a lie… so I tell a lie. I say she left it behind, and I was holding on to it for her so no one else would steal it. I add that if I hadn't run into her again I would have taken it to lost and found. She doesn't seem to believe me. She says she left it in the classroom because we have another class there later today, I know that! Now give the stuff back! She takes the stuff and leaves in a huff. I realize I do have to go to the class again today, but I don't really want to go to class with that person who clearly thinks I stole her stuff intending to keep it. And the fact is I have no idea why I stole her stuff, I don't even remember doing it. So I am considering ditching today.
14. I.. Can't Explain This...

by , 11-02-2011 at 09:12 PM (The Absurd Adventures of CWHunt)
I'm not too sure what this dream was about. Thank god I am finally getting out of this sickness I've been having though. Its hard to recall dreams when all you want to do when you get up in the middle of the night to write down your dreams is continue sleeping. Well... not anymore!

I just remember being in an underground and depressing area. Well.. maybe it wasn't underground. It was very depressing and dark though. It was also raining.

I walked to an elevator and started to go up as the weight that helps to move the elevator up and down began to move back and forth. I don't think it fell, but I was worrying that it might. I then remember going somewhere with an uncle of some sort until I woke up.
It just.. wasn't a normal dream. Boring too.
15. Party/Weird Board Game

by , 08-29-2011 at 03:11 AM
Had this one a while ago but didn't bother to record it.

So my friends (Britt and Laura) and I were at Laura's house in her basement. Actually it wasn't her basement, because it looked completely different and had windows, but for whatever reason I felt like that's where we were. Anyways, we were partying it up and dancing around. There was music and a bunch of balloons and some food. After a while we all got bored. I suggested we go to my house so I could pick up this board game. My friends hate board games, but I convinced them this one was super fun, so we hopped in Laura's Tahoe and drove to my house. Instead of going where I actually lived at the time of the dream, we headed towards my old house on a dead end street. Laura was driving and Britt and I were in the back; she was on the right and I was on the left. A couple of times Laura teleported to the middle back, and the car drove itself. When we got near the intersection of 76th and Morgan, I pointed out to Laura there was construction ahead. She climbed back to the front of the car and slowed down, because the construction zone hadn't been taped off or anything, it was just a bunch of potholes and equipment and stuff lying around the road. There was one guy standing there directing traffic (we were the only ones though), and he had us drive on the other side until we got to the lights. (Side note: in my dream it's evening now, so it's sort of dark but the street lights aren't on yet.) When we got to the traffic lights (still on the wrong side of the road) Laura stopped and said she'd just drop me off here. I didn't understand why because I still had to go like 14 blocks West and a few more blocks North, but I didn't complain since it wasn't a big deal. I said I'd be right back with the game, got out of the car, and crossed the street. I saw Laura drive into the used car lot on the corner and park before I started running to my house. I ran a few blocks up Morgan when I looked down at my feet and noticed I suddenly had some funky chicken-looking boots on. They were neon-pink and went up to my knees, and the ends looked like chicken feet (which means in order for anyone to really fit in these, half of their feet would be chopped off). I wondered why I was wearing them, but then realized I was running faster than I normally would be able to without them, so I just kept them on. After a while longer I heard footsteps behind me. I looked back (still running) and saw a girl jogging behind me. She was blonde with a pony tail, and had a sports bra and shorts on. She was also wearing tennis shoes that were the same color as my chicken boot things. And she had a creepy ass smile on her face. I wasn't sure whether I should be scared or not, but it didn't seem like she was following me at all. Still, I decided to pick up the pace. When I got to 84th and Morgan I turned right, and when I looked back the jogging girl was gone. I continued on into the little suburb area where my old house was, and I started to get really nervous. For whatever reason I felt like I shouldn't be going back to my house, because my parents might still be there and I'd wake them up (but in real life they've been out of that house for like a year). (Another side note: it felt like I was 'hiding' from them or something.) When I got to my house it was night time. The whole thing was dark and empty looking (as it should be). I opened the door without any keys and went into my old bedroom in a hurry. Oddly enough, my bedroom was untouched. Everything was as it was before I moved out. On my bed was the board game I was supposed to get. I sat down on my bed and opened up the lid of the game, and got sucked into it.

When I 'woke up' in the board game, I was in this really big castle-ish room. (I say castle-ish because it had stone walls and floors, churchy windows, and candle lamps.) It was dark except for the light coming from the candles. Around me were ceiling high mounds of crap, like a hoarder lived in the room. I wandered around through the maze of junk until I ran into an old man. He was holding something, but I don't remember what. Also he said something to me that I don't remember. I followed the old man until we came to a clearing in the junk. There were like five random kids my age gathered around a campfire. They looked like they were from an 80's tv show. When we got there, the kids started gathering around us. The old guy pulled out some weird bracelet thingy and put it on me. He told me something was going to happen, and if I lived I would get my board game. (At this point I started to wonder why I would go through all this effort to get the game... and why I was getting the game from IN the game... but I didn't feel panicky or anything because I knew I had done this before.) This really loud windy-noise came from somewhere, and things around me started to get blue and blurry as the noise got louder. All the people around me sort of fell down; I think they died. I looked down at the bracelet on my arm, and saw that it was now IN my arm, under my skin. As the noise continued to get louder, and the background turned completely blue/purpley and whooshy, the bracelet started to grow. It really hurt, but the old man's voice came from somewhere and told me if I made it through without my arm exploding I would get the board game. Unfortunately I woke up before I found out if I made it.
