    1. Drowning Mom's Dog

by , 02-26-2011 at 02:25 AM (My Sleepy Mind 2010/2011)
Original Date: 2/25/2011 (afternoon nap - first recall in 2 days)
      Type: Ordinary/Anxiety - Non Lucid

      Dream:
I was suddenly in a living room my mom and step dad. I remember my step dad saying something about my mom's dog, Buddy, and then pausing for a bit. A few moments later he stood up and walked over towards my mom and opened a box next to her, and I heard rustling around and a jingle of metal/aluminum. Then Buddy popped up out the top of the box, I was calling out his name and was very excited to see him (because I absolutely love dogs and had to leave my 2 back home). So I was sitting in a chair and Buddy was then up next to me in the chair curled up along my left side sleeping, and somehow was covered in like a cloth or blanket. I remember watching tv, but somehow interacting with whatever was on (it was vivid in my dream, but I cannot recall), I think at some point my step dad was changing channels and I may have been changing them back.

Then the setting changed, I was in some kitchen with a very dim light. I don't remember how, but I filled some container up with water that was on the counter. I turned away and I think I was looking for Buddy. All of a sudden I couldn't find him and thought "oh shit!", I had accidentally dumped him in the water pitcher! I could see him still wrapped in the little thin cloth lying on the bottom of the filled water pitcher! I instantly pulled the top off of it, shoved my had in and pulled him out. I unwrapped the cloth, at this point he was palm sized, so abnormally small, not because of the water, but in the dream it was natural. (I felt like his size was possibly a sign of delicacy.) So I started trying to get the water out of his lungs by patting his back sternly, and some was coming up/out. Then there was this strange like 2 or 3 piece machine in the kitchen that he would fit on that would somehow xray him to show water spots in the lungs, but I couldn't find a piece to it, I was searching frantically. At the same time Buddy (still micro size) was up, alive, walking around on the floor, soaked, but alive. I remember seeing him walk around but still feeling worried about him. So I took hold of him and for some reason stuck my pinkie in his mouth to trigger gag reflex to force up excess water. (But this makes no sense because there is no danger if water is in the stomach, only the lungs.)

      Objective Context:
Today is my birthday and my step dad (who creeps me out and I have not had contact with for over a year, by choice) texted me and called. My mom sent me a text. I am an EMT basic, so life skills and sustaining life are ingrained into me, but a dumb attempt like that makes no sense to me.

      Feelings:
Excitement, contentment, neutral, fear, panic, sadness, worry and guilt

I'm Alex and she's Nikita and – shit! I throw myself behind a set of crates as a blaze of gunfire lights up my trail.

"We have to take the south exit!" she shouts over the noise.

"They've anticipated your escape route," I shout back, "It's an ambush!"

      "We don't have a choice!"

Splintering wood and conveniently placed explosives under piles of precariously stacked crates – we make a dash for the exit. Don't stop when you're in the open, I tell myself, sprinting across the lawn, It's when you're most vulnerable, and we dive into the river and Alex closes her eyes.

Caught in the slipstream, I nudge at Alex/Nikita. Don't hold your breath, I say. Breathe. It won't hurt you.

    3. I'm just trying to shower, dammit!!/other fragments

by , 02-22-2011 at 07:48 PM (Trial and Error)
The dream (I think) started out with me taking a shower in a large empty room. It is a stand up shower without a tub, that has a door with a texture on the glass. The room was all the same tan color with two doors leading out, one on the right of my view point, one on the left. The door on the right was opaque with the long section in the middle you push to open, and the one on the left was see through with a metal handle on the left side.

The shower was warm, and I was enjoying myself when someone opened the right door and started to come in. As soon as she saw me she left embarrassed, not realizing I was in there. I giggled, not to worried about another girl seeing me.

After a bit I noticed that the door was open on the left and there was a guy watching me and laughing. I looked at him and motioned for him to leave since I was showering, but he stayed and more guys showing up. I wasn't embarrassed, I was pissed. So I get out of the shower, still completely naked and wet, showing them I don't care, close the door and give them the back off face. I slam the door and they start to leave. It was only then that I realized that some of the wall around the door was see through also. (which I don't understand after waking up since it was clear anyway)

For awhile I was left alone, but then suddenly people, mostly guys, began to run into the room. The room became almost filled with guys and I yelled for security who began to drag people out. But all I could think of was how pissed I was since I wanted to take my shower in peace, but no one would leave me alone.

The dream went on but I don't remember much other that a girl that had a colorful pokemon jacket and a screening room of some kind the was red and orange with bean bag chairs.
    4. Boat On Water

by , 02-21-2011 at 01:10 AM (My Sleepy Mind 2010/2011)
Original date: 12/6/2010 (when I started my journal in my phone)
      Type: Fragment - Non Lucid
      Dream:

I was suddenly on a boat/ship in water/ocean. The water was somewhat choppy and it was night, a lot of grey, dark blue, some green and slight moonlight. Then far in the distance, an island appeared almost as if it was coming up out of the water and it was dark. Once it appeared, there was an unexpected almost anxious or panicky feeling. I also felt that I was seeing this from a man's body on the boat.

      Objective Context:

It was a Sunday night, I was preparing for work the next day, felt a bit anxious. Started second day of my low cal diet.

I'm on a bus on my way to meet someone, a girl I’m hot for, to go to a concert. The bus is empty but for a small group of young women, excitedly chatting and tipsy from pre-drinks, and a nice, cute blonde girl takes an interest in me, and while I seem to succeed, from my point of view, in impressing her, as if the concert that I’m going to reflects well on me, while feigning indifference, looking towards the front of the bus to see where we are, narrow, modern CBD of a small European city, when a voice comes softly from towards the driver, last stop.

I step out as soon as the back doors open almost without saying goodbye properly, a brief wave.

I can’t find my friend where I’m supposed to wait, or perhaps realise that I should’ve invited the fun, pretty girl on the bus to come with us. I hurry into the train station to try and catch up to her, having mentioned that she and her friends were going to another music festival. I manage to get far into the station, white tiles like the Parisian station in the DVD I watch directly before sleep “Round Midnight”, without encountering a ticket turnstile, searching for faces, a normal weekend train station scene. I come to a railing looking down onto two platforms below, an inbound train pushing through at a resisted speed, all but submerged in sea water, the roof sliding under just before passing into the tunnel mouth under me, a train arriving on the parallel track from the opposite direction, the water churning confusedly, the commuters coming up the stairs normally to the side of me.

    6. 02/09/2011 - "A Flood Runs Through It"

      02/09/2011
      "A Flood Runs Through It"

I was in the woods with MR and other friends. He and I were playing our electric guitars (in the woods?), and mine - for some unknown reason - began breaking apart in my hands. Even before that, I had tried keeping up with him, but just couldn't get the right tones. The weather turned ugly, really quickly, and the rain soon came pouring down. We all had to run for cover, which was a roofed pavilion or something, right down an embankment from us. Not able to carry everything at once, I ran down to the pavilion and put my guitar away, and then had to run back up to get my amplifier and gig bag (leaving me to wonder why I didn't just put my guitar in the bag, in the first place).

On the way back, I realized that I was now wearing roller blades. I was surprised by this, and didn't know why the hell I was wearing roller blades in the middle of the woods. The rain was coming down in buckets, though, and I didn't have time to stop and take the skates off. I knew I had to get my amp before it got completely ruined, so I trudged along through the mud with the skates on, ready to ascend the embankment.

Suddenly, a flash flood swept down the embankment toward me, muddy water crashing down around everything, and practically burying me where I stood. I dug my feet in to brace myself, the water now about waist high as it ran down the hill around me. Just up ahead, I saw my amp and gig bag floating down this torrential stream, toward me. They were already completely soaked, but I thought there might still be hope of saving them. Then, off to one side, I could hear one of my friends' dogs, yelping. It was stuck on some perch that was just barely sticking up over the surface of the rushing water, obviously terrified, and I knew it wouldn't be long before it was completely overcome by the surge. Forced with a decision, I decided to save the dog, digging my skates into the soft grass submerged beneath the flood. I stomped over toward the dog, picking him up and holding him to my chest with one hand, trying to keep my balance with the other. The flood proved to be too strong, though, and I was swept down the hill, swimming as hard as I could, while keeping the dog above water. Ever try swimming in a flash flood with roller blades on? It's fucking hard.

I was carried down the embankment, and toward the pavilion. The structure was elevated from the ground, on wooden beams, and the water was rushing down beneath it, just a few inches of space between the surface of the water and the actual floor of the pavilion itself. Trying not to get swept beneath the building - and possibly drown - I grabbed one of the wooden beams, hanging on for dear life while the current tried it's damnedest to force me under the building. It was Hell. I feared the worst, feeling like I wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer, staring into the blackness beneath the building, horrified that I would soon be swept into it.

I woke up before knowing the outcome, though.

I dreamt that I was cycling behind someone of my class wo isn't Very handy. He wanted to move to the left to pass me by. Wen He went back to right, He fell into a stream. I said I couldn't help him because my clothes where new. The last thing I saw was that he was trappling under the bicycle and He couldn't get out of the stream.

    9. If it isn't love, it's not worth leaving.

by , 02-06-2011 at 11:59 PM (Insights from Id)
I am moving into a new apartment with my family. There are other people living there, a man and his adult son. The son ,whose name is David, is a few years younger than me and attending college. After moving in, I go out onto a walkway that faces a courtyard in the middle of the building. The courtyard is completely filled with water, and it is very deep. The walkway has no guardrails. As I walk, I see my daughter heading for the edge, before I have time to react, David pulls her from the edge. After securing her inside, David and I continue to walk. Suddenly, he pins me to the wall. He leans in to kiss me. I shrug out from under him. "Don't be silly," I say. "I'm married."
"So what if you are?" he answers.
"I love my husband." I look at him with sad eyes. I hate hurting people.
He stops and looks at me. "If I were more fit, had abs and stuff, would you want me?"
I sigh. "If I were single, I'd give you a chance, but anything that might be between us is not worth losing him over. I really do love him."
I continue to walk. As I walk past an open closet. David backs me into it and closes the door. He pins me again and starts to kiss my neck. I push him off of me. "You just don't get it, do you?" I look at him angrily, my eyes demanding an answer.
He looks defeated. "I'm sorry. I'll stop."
I try to open the door, but it is locked. I bang on the door and scream, but nobody seems to hear. I decide that nobody is coming, so I sit on the floor next to the door. I see a figure drawn on the door (I don't remember what it was) and markers in a case affixed below it. I begin to color in the figure. I am almost done when the door opens. It is my husband. I throw my arms around him, glad to see him and glad to be saved. He pulls me aside. "Did he do anything to you?"
I glance at David, naked defeat in his eyes. "No, it was an accident," I answer.
After we all leave the room, I pull David aside. "I'm sorry I had to hurt you," I tell him. "If I had met you first, maybe there could have been something between us, but I love him. I can't lose him."
    10. Swimming in the Jungle Cruise Pools at Night

by , 02-03-2011 at 07:11 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm on a strange version of the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland. Instead of one continuous waterway that meanders across solid ground like a real river, it consists of a series of interconnected, rectangular pools that are separated from each other by waterfalls. They're all still surrounded by jungle foliage, though, and they all have some kind of animatronic animal in or around them. One of them has an animatronic person swimming in the middle. It's nighttime.

I'm navigating these waterways all alone, in a single-person canoe. As I paddle my canoe along, I think, I hate going through this ride by myself. There's no one to do the spiel for me. I try to do it myself, but I'm not as good at it as the regular skippers are. I go over at least one waterfall in my canoe. There's no impact when my canoe hits the water; it just calmly transitions from one pool to the next.

I reach a particularly tall waterfall, with a bunch of gray rocks between the pool I'm in and the one below it. I'm tired of putting in the effort it takes to paddle, so I give up trying to canoe my way through the ride and just climb down the rocks. When I reach the lower pool, I decide to go swimming in it.

When I get into the pool, I start treading water. I move very quickly across the large, rectangular pool by this means, keeping my head completely out of the water the entire time, and feeling very proud of the fact that I've mastered the skill of treading water.
[Which I haven't done in real life, by the way; I can sort of do it, but I'm not any good at it at all.] Being in the water feels really, really nice.

[Recall is a little hazy here. I think I remember the following two things:] Two or more people pour more water into the pool I'm in, making it colder. I get into and out of the water at least once. [I definitely remember everything from here on out:] I'm now in a smaller, but still rectangular pool, right next to the bigger one I initially got into. The shorter ends of the two rectangles are right next to each other. I look around in this smaller pool for a way to climb out. At first, I'm disappointed because I don't see one, but then I see it. There are some metal steps leading out of the pool, attached to the interior wall near the far corner. There are two girls I don't know in the water near the steps. I also see the B. brothers crouched down near the other short end of the pool, looking at me. [They're acquaintances from real life; I've mentioned them in my dream journal before in this entry. They're the two brothers who sang with the Parrish girls.] I'm naked, so when I see them, I imagine a bikini, and it appears on my body. [Despite this, at no point did I ever become lucid.] Then I climb out of the pool.

[Different dream.] I'm at home [or possibly in a hotel room; it didn't look like any of our houses], lounging around on a bed, doing something on my laptop. My parents want to go out somewhere, but I'm not ready. My dad jokes, "This battery-powered computer is called a 'wait-for-me device!'" I laugh a little, then stop what I'm doing, get up, and go to finish getting dressed so that we can go. Then my alarm went off and I got up.

I felt like I have had an introduction to this dream before. I recognized the bridge in it.

A family, which are depicted as members of my family are preparing to stay in a cabin / house on a tiny little island in something resembling to a fjord. The island only had room for a house with a floor. The house was white with dark brown lists. It was a great and wide wooden bridge to get to the island. At the bridge there is an old man with a blanket over him and a cap on his head sitting in a wheelchair. He has two holes where the left eye should have been. As if the eye had become skin tissue and was punctured. But they have said previously in a dream that he was not dead. The atmosphere is hazy, and over the bridge, I see only a mountain sticking up from the earth that goes sky high. The rest is just swamp, not a road even. Further than just across the bridge I do not see because of fog. Around the hut was only heather, all the way to the water.

There was a baby there, portrayed as Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. He played in the heather on the west side of the cabin when I heard some voices from nowhere and he argued with them. He died of some reason and the man in the wheelchair drove him west from the cabin with a pickup truck. On a road that did not exist. Later, the father and daughter (my sister and dad) are discussing something I don't remember, while she looked down into the water on her reflection. They stood on the north east side of the cabin. It felt like she were suicidal. I felt that everyone in the family would die.

Dream skip until night. The whole family sat and watched the reflection of a very similar cabin on the other side. The father explained that the same happens to the cabin as it happens with this. If it burned, this one burned also. I saw that the hut was burning and that this one also did, then the image disappeared. I now have a sort of guided tour of everything in place before I wake up again. Just like as the dream wanted me to remember it. I woke up.

You may call it a nightmare, but it didn't frighten me even though it was some pretty freaky images there. Like the old man with holes in his eye.

      "Reptiloid"

I remember that there was a lot that went on, early in this dream, but the first thing I actually recall is being at a park with some friends. There was a small pond nearby, and a friend and I were playing some kind of ball game near it. We had some awareness that there were gators in the water but, before then, we hadn't really paid any heed to it. Then, we noticed some small animal - a duck or something - making is way toward the shore. Before it could make it, though, a couple of gators splashed into view and violently attacked the animal, tearing it to shreds. Then, they turned toward us...exposed snouts slowly floating in our direction. Not quite sure what to do, we waited for a moment, seeing the gators crawl up onto the embankment, stalking our way. We then took off, running back toward our group. Knowing full well that alligators aren't the fastest creatures on land, we never could have been prepared for what happened next. The gators actually extended their - once short and stubby - legs, sprinting after us like greyhounds, on thick, muscular, canine-esque legs.

There was no way we were going to out-run them, and things looked even worse, when another two gators shot out from behind a jungle gym, far off to one side of us. They were closing in just as fast, and we were running out of places to go. We'd made it to the picnic table where the rest of our friends were sitting. Seeing us approach, with these mutated reptiles on our heels, the group immediately stood up. I took running leap and jumped up on top of the table, everyone else doing the same. We were now surrounded, these beasts trying ferociously to climb up onto the table, snapping their razor-sharp jaws at us, only to be kicked or beaten back with anything we could use as weapons. What's even more strange about these creatures were that they were coated with what, at first, looked like slime. But, after the gators were out of the water for a certain length of time, they actually began to melt, sizzling down to steaming piles of this sort of seaweed green goo. The creature were coated in some sort of organic corrosive liquid, like acid. I screamed out to everyone not to touch them, and that all we had to do with hold them off until they all either retreated or melted under their own secretions.

I don't remember whether or not we all got away, though.

      Fragment
(I completely forgot a lucid, last night. I hate when that happens. )
The only thing I remember is something about having to run through a deadly network of traps, like in the new Predators movie. Later, I had become lucid. I remember showing off a couple of lucid tricks, such as walking across a pool of water, and sinking my arm into a wall. When I walked across the water, I found it kind of hard to keep myself levitating, and one of my feet actually dunked completely under, leaving my shoe feeling soggy and wet.

    13. President Obama and Skinny Dipping on the Job

by , 01-29-2011 at 01:03 AM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Just another day at work?

I am at my former job as a Park Ranger. My coworker and I are on patrol, and we come to a launch ramp at one of our lakes. President Obama is there, fiddling with the lock on a gate that leads to the water. We get out, and get after him because no one is allowed through the gate. I forget what his excuse is, but the other ranger and I believe that he has come back to clean up some evidence. Apparently, there has been a murder committed here, and we think Obama did it.

Walking back from our encounter with the President, we notice how hot the sun is, and how much work this has all been. We decide to go swimming. There is no beach here, just a launch ramp and parking lot. We go into the water anyway, at the edge of the concrete. Not wanting to get our clothes wet, we go skinny dipping. I can see fish swimming around us, and the moss covered rocks at the bottom. The water is very refreshing, but we realize that we are supposed to be working so we decide to get back to our vehicle. Walking naked through the busy parking lot, I see a white SUV approaching us. It appears to have government plates, and I'm afraid it is another ranger, or even worse our boss.

We dash across the lot and jump into the vehicle. It turns out the SUV was not a government vehicle at all.

"Can you imagine if one of our coworkers really did come along, and wanted to talk to us now?" asks my coworker, laughing.
"Yeah, or what if that was our boss?" I say. The one I am referring to was a woman, and a no-nonsense type of person. We both crack up thinking about her reaction upon looking in the window of the Jeep. We pull away, and I put my clothes back on (my fellow ranger apparently sees no reason to get dressed again).

      Skydiving with Annabelle (what, again?)

I am "skydiving" with Annabelle once again. We are down by the local hardware store this time, not in Uru. We get up to the top of a high platform, and she jumps off. There are a couple of other people with us, and they jump off too. Annabelle is now laying on a bed at the base of the platform, and wants me to jump on her (yeah, I know there's an innuendo here). I am a little afraid to do so, as it is pretty far down. I inch down a ladder at the edge of the platform, until I am not too far off the ground. I'm about ready to jump, but now I'm afraid of hurting her if I do so.

From here on out the dream makes less coherent sense.

      Rand's Computer

I am in a big fancy house somewhere. It is Rand's house apparently, and he tells me to check his email. I am a little bewildered at first, because I can't find the email program on his computer screen. Eventually I do find it right on the desktop after some hunting, and open it up. The inbox is full of female models, sending him riskee pictures. Somebody explains to me that Rand is also a professional in some kind of business involving these pictures. I am not so sure.

Upon closing the mailbox, I look at the computer desktop. He has succeeded in getting a Desktop KI to work, and I decide that I need to get one too. The KI is in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

    14. January 28 - Extreme Racing

      by , 01-28-2011 at 06:01 PM
The dreams starts off with a bunch of people there. I don't recognize most of them, but there's one guy who is one of my friends who is on my racing team, and then a girl. The only other people besides these two that I know are the members of the Scooby Doo gang who are, of course, racing in their Mystery Machine. I was very excited because somehow my friends and I had managed to befriend a dragon to be our racing machine. Somebody starts the race and we begin racing across various parts of the world, including a long, low wooden bridge built over very murky water, and a large area of forest.

Most of the dream consists of just as racing. My group was in first place until we got back to the bridge area, which was the last stretch. Somehow our dragon had hurt its wing and we ended up crashing into the water. I saw my dragon race away back to where it came from under the water and I waved goodbye to it before I sunk to the bottom of the liquid. It was strange what I saw. Lined up along the edge right before the area ended were what looked like seriously freaky garden gnomes all the way across. As soon as I touched the bottom, one came at me and grabbed me, saying something about how because I had come to some Otherworld, my soul would have to be taken from my body. I grabbed a Skeleton that was at the bottom of the water and managed to trick the Gnome into thinking that the soul of this already deceased person was much better than mine, and I swam away back to the surface. I woke up just as I began to climb back onto the dock and I saw that our team had still won first place.
    15. Weather Balloon

      by , 01-27-2011 at 01:30 AM
      ---

This dream may or may not have occurred after the previous dream, but it was definitely a dream from last night. I find myself in a neighborhood I'm not completely familiar with. Possible the neighborhood of one of the two people I was with. We had heard there were weather warnings in the area and decided to go out to see what there was to see. I was with my girlfriend and a close friend of mine. I don't remember faces, but I remember the feelings.

We decide the best way to get a look at what was happening would be to take up a makeshift hot air balloon which was in the yard of the house we were standing in front of. The hot air balloon takes off with all three of us securely on board. This hot air balloon was not ordinary. It seemed to be fashioned together as a parachute like section attached to a large block of wood. My two companions stood on the wood while I held on tightly to the rope that was holding the two pieces together.

The wind was so strong, it took us above the clouds to a point that no longer felt safe or fun. I motioned to my girlfriend that I was scared and wanted to board the platform with her, but I knew there wasn't enough room. I held on tightly. We could see what the weather reports were saying. There were several tornadoes in the distance which, at the time, seemed more awe-inspiring than frightening. We floated above the clouds for a good twenty minutes until we hit a pocket of air which allowed us to slowly sink towards the ground.

When we burst through the cloud covering we saw that were were falling towards a large body of water, something of a channel for large boats to pass through. There was actually a boat there which appeared to be covering the surface of the water with crude oil. It was to our understanding that it was to prevent the storms from developing even further. We landed close enough to the edge of the channel that we were able grab onto the ledge and climb onto dry land, without even getting wet. This is the last significant thing I remember.
