      I am walking through a city with my dad. It's sunny out. The buildings are in the style of some clock tower. I don't see my dad, but I know he's there. I see Roger Zare walking through the city on a sidewalk. I run up to him, because in real life, I've met him before. I say Hi and he just stares at me weird, like he's never met me before. He says Hi back, but just keeps on walking...

      Notes...

      I might have actually been on some college campus.

      The grass was very green and it was a "perfect" day.

      I did a reality check and realized I was dreaming.......

      I saw a city in the distance. It had a tanish tone to it, and as I got closer I realized EVERYTHING was made of people. The buildings, the signs, and even the trees. They were all completely still, like a statue.

      I walked into a building, and the floor felt squishy. It was really weird. Someone came up to me and asked if I wanted to see my vault.

      I said yes and followed her through a door. There were brightly colored feathers everywhere, and she told me to touch one. When I did I woke up.

    4. DON'T follow the red brick road

      I’m driving down the street of a European-style city in my mom’s Chevy Aveo. The street is made of red bricks, the side walk is made of red bricks, the 3-and-a-half-story houses are made of red bricks, even the lamp-posts look like they’re made of red brick. The roofs aren’t. They’re Chinese-style.
      At some point, I switch to driving on the (very) wide sidewalk, and continue to do so until I come to a barrier in the middle of it. The road keeps going and curves off to the right, but the sidewalk beyond the barrier slopes down for a couple hundred feet before dropping off into a mist.
      I exit the car, which now also looks a little like it’s made of brick, and look to the left of the car. There is a gap in the houses 15 to 20 feet wide with a pipe railing going along it. Past the rail, the whole city is lower by 20 or 30 feet, so that the (two-story) houses’ roofs are a little lower than the sidewalk I’m on.
      I vault over the rail onto the rooftop of the first house. It’s a long roof, so I run along it, passing two small gables jutting out along the way. The Roof turns right, and I stop, facing a one-window gable. Opening the window (how the heck did I do that?), I enter the building.
      It’s a sort of antique shop, or pawn shop. More likely a pawn shop, but lots of the things are old, and it’s pretty neat for a pawn shop. I look around for a minute (I don’t remember what’s there), and then wander downstairs.
      When I get downstairs, I run into (not literally) the owner of the shop and a 13-ish-looking girl. They’re both dressed in 1800’s-style clothing, and the owner, and old man, looks like the old guy in “Pinocchio”. He says something to the effect of “I guess I must have not seen you when I locked up the place.” but, as usually happens in my dreams, he says so in considerably fewer words. The creepy thing about him is that, after I agreed with him, he looked at me like he knew I had broken in. Go figure.
      In the end, I leave and am just closing the door (I’m on ground level), when the dream ended. Or at least my memory of the dream ends.
    5. Chicago, but not

      I was with a school group, like an excursion (field trip). We had been travelling a long way by foot, but I only remember when we reached the top of this sand hill, and there was a whole city below us.

      There was sand and water everywhere, the buildings weren't as high as skyscrapers. Someone said "We finally reached Chicago!"

      I took out my camera and captured the city. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

      I wake up.



      lol the only time I've seen Chicago was in the movie "Source Code". It's a good movie,

    6. Malia Jet Trial Run and the Slanted Store

      I was inside the house at dusk one clear night, when the military sent out a notice to everyone in the area to stay indoors while they performed trial runs with their new fleet of fighter jets called the Malia, after Obama's daughter. I and a few others were eager to get pictures of them, but didn't want to get caught because we weren't sure how severe the consequences would be. We couldn't figure out why they wanted us to stay inside. If the planes crash landed, being inside the house wouldn't offer much protection.

      I grabbed my boots to go find the best photography vantage point somewhere in the yard, put them away as I decided it was best not to leave the deck, and finally grabbed them again so I'd have the option in case I saw a really awesome shot. I snuck outside with the other few photographers, cameras ready. The stars were glittering faintly as the last of the pink sunset faded. The jets seemed to be putting on an air show, swooping around in various formations, relatively quiet for fighter jets. Each of them glowed with a pinkish red light. I don't remember many of the details beyond that point—we just watched the jets fly back and forth over the neighbourhood in the wide open sky, a few times thinking that the glow and formation made them look a bit like UFOs.

      In the next part of the dream, I was at a Zellers or some other department store, located on the hillside of the Halifax waterfront—though I don't remember actually seeing any water (I think it might have been blocked from view by another much larger, solid row of buildings). The store was surrounded by other large buildings, and a few trees here and there, especially farther up the hill. A large part of the store was built on a slant, so you could just barely avoid sliding into another department as you shopped. Part of the store was illuminated only by the sunlight streaming in through the windows, and many of the surfaces were made of smooth black stone.

      I was shopping for clothes with Mom for a short while, and left the department store briefly to go look for Dad, who had left a little earlier than us since he didn't have the patience to wait around. I think he had gone back to the car, but it was parked a ways away down a different street. I then decided to buy a couple of colorful floor-length summer dresses I had seen that were $50 on sale for $7, so I ran back to the store without bothering to find him first, and then I woke up.

      Lately I've been shopping for pretty clothes a lot in my dreams :/

      I'm running from something. Someone. I don't know. It's a field at first. A couple buildings on the edge. Suddenly the area quickly transitions to something along the lines of ancient Rome. Everything has a slight sepia tint to it as if it's not perfectly 'clean.' I run up a building and I find myself facing away from me, looking out a balcony over the ancient city. He turns around and its not me. I know his name is Rangle. I don't know why. I remember a spear being thrown. I don't remember who threw it or who it hit, but I woke up.

      I was in a harbor town. The sky was this impossibly beautiful shade of blue, it was just barely past realistic. It wasn't a cloudless day, so the few that were there were beautiful. I'm by the sea. The water is this stunning shade of light blue. Like you see in pictures in resort brochures. It's the type of blue you expect an indoor pool complex at a five-star hotel to have. The sea is never this clean. On this concrete pier. There's a shop behind me with this bright red canopy. I can hear people laughing, the temperature is perfect.

      Then there are tremors. Small at first but the I begin to see cracks in the concrete. The laughing becomes screaming. The world seems to be swaying, tipping from side to side. So I jump.

      I dive into the water headfirst. I dive impossibly fast. Everything around me is a blur. The sounds of screaming and falling buildings is overwhelmed by the rushing water. As I get my bearings and slow down, I see hit the ocean floor. It isn't earth the though. It's ceramic. Like the bottom of a pool. I take a quick look around. That same shade of light blue is everywhere. There are no fish, no plants. Only endless ceramic.

      I can feel the cold glaze on the balls of my feet. The water is warm and there's a stark contrast. I don't remember taking off my shoes. I bend my legs and push off the floor. I shoot up. Insanely quickly. I launch out of the water but gravity never takes hold of me again. I'm flying. The wind has whipped off any dampness and now it's only me. I don't see a city, a sea, people...nothing. Only more sky. The feeling is beautiful. Flying.

      After a bit I can feel myself losing the dream. I start to feel gravity pulling again. Even worse, I begin to feel the warmth of my blankets. I close my eyes and fight for stability. I open my eyes again and I'm in control again. But I begin to fall. Not straight down, like a rock, but I glide down, like a bird.

      I break the cloud layer and I see this rocky terrain. It's hard dirt littered with rocks and the occasional weed. I ready my legs and I hit the ground running. The only thing in my mind is the urge to be in the air again. I want to fly. I'm running so fast. I'm barefoot still and the I can feel every pebble and grain of dirt against my skin. I'm hitting some larger rocks, and my feet begin to stumble. There is a dense fog all around me. I can't see further than meters in any direction. I'm determined to fly again though, and I don't lose much speed. I keep jumping as I run. But I can't get any lift. At one point I jump almost ten meters in the air and I panic as I fall to the ground. I'm not in control of my legs, they're running on their own. The ground begins to slope up in front of me. It's a hill at first but it starts getting steep. Not long after I'm almost vertical. I give myself one more mental push and I'm launched in the air once more. I break the cloud layer again and I'm greeted with the beautiful blue sky once again. Time slows as I watch the sun and beautiful cloudscape before me.

      I can feel my self falling again. But this time, I feel no anxiety or apprehension. I feel the clouds rush past me once more as I hurtle to the floor. I can see the wasteland again. The rocks I stumbled over, screaming towards my face.

      I wake up.
    9. Breaking The Masquerade [Night of June 18-19]

      [This is a catch-up post. This dream is from the night of June 18-19, and it's one of the most fascinating lucids I've had yet.]

      Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

      I'm shopping at the old Toys 'R Us that we used to go to when I was a kid. [In real life, it's been closed for several years.] I've driven up there all the way from my current town, by myself, and I told my parents where I was going before I left. I've come there just to get the purple hippo stuffed animal that I saw advertised. I find it, go to a checkout stand, swipe my credit card through the card reader sitting on the floor near one of the checkouts, and then walk to the other side of the line of checkouts and get in line to check out. There's quite a long line, but it's moving fairly quickly because there are a lot of checkouts open, and all the checkers are calling people over from that one line. The line is in a rectangular, dark, warehouse-like space in the front of the store, separated from the store proper by high, dark gray metal shelf racks that reach all the way to the high ceiling. When it comes my turn to check out, the checker waves me through when I show her my toy and the receipt that was printed out of the credit card reader.

      I exit the store and get into my car
      [our current, brown Honda]. I examine my purple hippo. It's smaller and narrower than the teddy bear I already have [in real life], and therefore not as good a shape for use as an arm pillow, but still, it's kinda cute. I can feel that it has a plastic cup built into its nose, so that its nose holds its conical shape. I set it down on the floor of the passenger seat, start the car up, and drive out of the parking lot via the ramp behind and to the right of the store.

      This ramp forces me to turn right, putting me onto a one-way street. “This is why my parents never went out this way,” I say to myself. I end up driving through a neat, clean, inviting-looking urban downtown area, with lots of modern, glass buildings, concrete parking structures, and trees on the sidewalks.


      [The dream shifts.] I'm walking the darkened halls of a big, old apartment building whose halls form a continuous square. Stuff involving Muppets, a bird named Gloria, and an alarm clock happens. [This was another elaborate and plotty dream, but I don't really remember the details anymore. I don't particularly care, though, because the next part is the really awesome part.]

      [The dream shifts again.] I'm out on the town, in the same cool, modern downtown I was driving around earlier, only now I'm on foot. While walking across a plaza, I see several of my friends from [$SocialClub] [an organization I belong to in real life]. I recognize that I've been in this downtown before, and am very happy to be here. Somewhere around this point, I become lucid. [As usual, I don't remember precisely at what moment I did so. It may have been that recognition that I'd been there before that triggered lucidity, but I'm not sure.] I also pass by my friends from [$Class], who are on their way to class. I think of going with them, but choose to go off by myself and explore instead.

      I end up on a particular street corner where there is a restaurant with a live band playing inside. I enter the restaurant to listen to the band. The restaurant is named “Café Debussy.”
      [ :gape: Whoa. That is so awesome. That's the name of the cafe where Cobb gives Ariadne her first lesson in shared dreaming in Inception. That is just so cool that I have my own version of it. I may have realized the significance of this name at that moment, or it may not have been until after I woke up, I'm not sure.]

      While I'm in the restaurant, I meet and get into a conversation with a female dream character, who asks me who I am. I say the same kinds of things I would say when meeting someone for the first time in real life: that I live and work nearby, what I do, that I'm a member of [$SocialClub]. When I finish, she looks at me with an expression that shows that she's disappointed in me, and that she can see right through the baloney I'm giving her. “Who are you, really?” she asks.

      I sigh and start telling her the truth.

      “I'm from another world, that's not like yours,” I say. “I only come to visit here when I'm dreaming.” I stop myself short of saying that I'm dreaming all this that's around us.

      As I speak, we start rising up off the ground. I'm either flying us up or causing a tower to grow up from the ground under us.
      [I'm not exactly sure, but I think it was more likely the latter, because] I'm making the buildings all around us grow taller or shorter, or change shape, just by thinking about it. I'm doing this because I want to show my companion the city from up high.

      “Because I'm dreaming, I can control the situation, like this,” I say. “It's fun.”
      [I say a bit more that I don't remember now, and then] I end by sighing again, then saying, “So, here I am, your dreamer.” I extend my hand to shake hands with her.

      She takes it.
      [Surprisingly,] The female DC reacts to what I've just told her with happiness and excitement. She leads me purposefully off in a direction across the city, apparently intending to tell others about what she has learned and introduce them to me. As we go, I realize that in all the time we've been talking, I haven't told her my name, so I say to her, “My name is [$RealFirstName].” I deliberately use the nickname by which I'm known to family and friends in real life, rather than my official, legal name, because I don't want the Fae to know my true name, because that will give them power over me. [Seriously, that's what I thought during the dream. I would never set any store by such an idea in real life.] She doesn't reply, though.

      [She didn't introduce me to anyone, though. The next thing I remember,] The female DC and I have walked out to a metal, industrial-looking bridge, from which we're watching the sunset over the cityscape. I ask her, “What's your name?”

      “Darla,” she says.

      I shake my head and correct her: “No, that's the name of my friend who looks like you. What's your name?” Although she looks like one of my real-life friends, I'm interested in her identity as a separate individual.

      From the way she hesitates for at least 15 seconds, going “Hmmmm...” several times while looking all around her at our surroundings, it's clear that she's never thought of herself as having an individual name separate from that of her real-life counterpart before. Finally, she looks over at the setting sun and says, “Umbra.”
      [She pronounces it “OOM-brah;” it means “shadow” in Latin. Hmmm. Very interesting.]

      [Fragment.] Something involving roller coasters that look like snakes.

      [False awakening.] I'm comparing notes with my mom about whether or not we just had the same dream about snakes.

      [Different dream.] I'm on a ride that has foam seats with over-the-shoulder restraints. The seats are suspended high up in the air from an overhead track in a large building. I've somehow managed to board the ride so that I'm perched in between two seats, rather than fully seated in one of them. While the train of seats I'm on is moving to its destination, I manage to maneuver myself into one of the seats and get the restraints into place.

      My train of seats arrives at its destination: directly above a gigantic aquarium tank. That's when I realize what the purpose of this ride is: to allow visitors a chance to be submerged in the tank for several minutes on end. I realize that I was supposed to bring a snorkel or scuba gear with me on this ride, but I didn't, and there's no way to get out of the restraints before I get dunked in the tank. I'm only mildly concerned about this, though.

      I hold my breath and the seats descend, submerging me and everyone else several feet underwater. As soon as the seats have stopped descending, I start swimming upward, taking my seat and my restraints with me
      [I think; I'm not sure]. The moment I break the surface of the water, I found myself awake. I immediately kicked myself for not realizing that I was dreaming and subsequently recalling that I can breathe underwater in dreams.

    10. Task Of the Month July 2011-Completed! 7/8/11

      I've been taking a lot of breaks from Dreamviews lately and I decided to finally start my journal on here and get back into it! Since I have left I have suddenly had A LOT of luck in lucid dreaming and love it! I read the TOTM Earlier today and I decided to nap and give it a try!
      Anyway here is my TOTM DJ:



      It was nightime and the stars were illuminating the sky. Millions of little magical sparkles. I could hear cars in the distance. I look down and found I was standing on top of a skyscraper in a HUGE city. I was memorized by the beauty of the city. I always had loved cities. I looked down at a taxi driving across the busy road. Every time the Taxi hit a tiny bump the taxi grew in size. Suddenly I asked myself How I got to this roof and I realized I was dreaming! Everything sort of flickered. The lights all went off for a second and everything came back clearer then it was before. I was lucid! I was going to float down from the rooftop into the street but then I remembered the TOTM that I had just read earlier today! I remembered the play an instrument one but I couldnt remember the advanced task. I decided to stay on the city rooftop and play it while looking down at the beautiful city. I assumed a box would be on the roof with an instrument in it and when I looked around I saw one! I went over to examine it and wanted the instrument to be a flute. I opened the box and was surprised to find a trombone! I took it out and held it in my hand. It seemed really big. I put my mouth to the mouthpiece and thought about synesthesia which is the mixing of senses. I have a form of it where when I see objects move I hear a small sound, but there are many different forms of it. There's one form where when you hear sound you can see color. I decided I would try that in my dream. I blew the first note and a beautiful sound that I cant explain escaped. The city froze and a ripple of purple appeared in front of me. All of a sudden I was floating and moving slowly. I kept playing random beautiful notes and more and more colors rippled around me. I was close enough to the ground now I could see people staring up at me with a shocked expression on their faces. They stared at me in amazement. I smiled and waved at them. For a moment I even forgot I was dreaming. I was just focused on all the colors. I decided to land on the street and give the trombone to someone random. They smiled at me like they needed that trombone to survive. I sat down on a city bench and tried to remember what the advanced task was...I remembered it has something to do with a movie and....OH MY GOSH! Where the Wild things are! I was so excited I remembered the dream started fading away. But I managed to grasp onto it. Everything was little blurrier but I didn't mind as long I was still in the dream. How long had I been napping? Surely 20 minutes had passed maybe longer. The dream would end soon!



      I hurried through the first door I saw and I came out in a forest. It was a lively forest with animals everywhere. I turned around and saw an owl staring down at me. I smiled at it. I had never seen the movie or even remembered the book so I had no idea what the story was about except a kid with a crown with buffalo-like friends. Suddenly I heard stomping in the forest and all the animals scattered. A HUGE wild thing came out of the bushes. It was bigger then I thought it would be! I looked up at it and touched it's finger. "I am in control of your species now." I said. It nodded and stared at me with wide green eyes. I told it to go get its friends when all of a sudden I woke up.


      I was amazed that I actually completed the tasks the day that I read about them! The dream felt really unreal and I would love to go back to that city again. Thanks Ninja for such a great TOTM! I am off to a GREAT start in coming back to DreamViews.

    11. 10th Lucid - Making It To The Lake

      10th Lucid - Making It To The Lake (MILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I was in some sort of large brick city - it reminded me of a game. I don't quite remember the back story of this dream - I believe my friends and I were being chased by something - trying to get away from the center of town?

      I don't know what set me off - but I RC'd with my nose - I'm dreaming! I instantly stabilised, looking around me and trying to calm down - with great success! The dream was very solid and stable, I didn't feel top-heavy at all and I was thinking very clearly. I walked around lucid for a while - it was night and I was in a town made of red bricks.

      I remember walking out of a large square doorway and looking outside. There was a tall tower as though there was a castle in front of a couple of walls. Daniel ran past me with a group of people - but I stopped him.
      "Hey, can I have that?" I was referring to his MP3 player. He handed it over without trouble - and kept running. It reminded me of my old mp3 player, but longer. Music started playing from it - Good Charlotte - Last Night. I was surprised at how good the music sounded, Jeremy was right!

      I decided to focus on my next goal - time dilation. I yelled at the dream 'Two weeks to a day! No wait, Two weeks to an hour!" I looked down at the screen on the MP3 player, there were two digital clocks. They were both counting time to seconds and read
      08:35:-- and the seconds at the end were in sync. Ohwell, I don't need it anyway this dream is stable as! I tried to make my DG appear behind me, but I didn't believe it would work properly, and it didn't happen. I ran down the street, it was paved and there were walls either side of me, I jumped and tried to take off in a superman flight stance, and fell smack bang on my face. I believe this is where I managed to teleport to the lake.

      Next thing I remember, it was day, and I was at a lake. This was different to the lake I had been picturing. There was a shoreline filled with trees - a forest, and then a basin in the middle. There was some sort of tower on the hill on one side of the basin - a light house perhaps? I wanted to fly again, and tried superman style again and landed on my face. Bah.

      I tried instead, to simply levitate up. I lifted off the ground slightly and got my balance in the air. I then pushed myself backwards as though I was swimming through the air - almost rowing. I kicked and swam faster, and started going really fast. I flew around the lake, looking at all the scenery and weaving in between the trees, feeling the air rush over me. I remember thinking a lot about the way I was rowing my arms - and I was slightly confused as to how it was working. I remembered the last lucid I had where I summoned an apple and figured it'd be pretty cool. I hovered in mid air, and flicked my left hand expecting an apple to be there. Nothing appeared, so I visualised the slice of green apple and went to take a bite - nothing. Oh well!

      I know I was talking to someone in this dream, and I believe it was a kid from my school named Michael. He convinced me to try flying superman style again, now that I'd nailed flying backwards. I picked up lots of speed and did a flip. I manouvered through the air turning around and ending up in the superman position - it felt really awesome. Uh oh. I started falling out of the air - I needed to try and swim in that position. I hit the ground with a smack, it didn't hurt at all and I actually laughed a little. I instantly felt the transition into my waking body. Damn that was fun.

    12. Downey, Your Lines Are...

      Notes:
      Last night, I wrote out my intentions to become lucid and end up on top of an airport building during the day, but instead I wound up on top of a city building at night. The lucid part didn't really turn out well either. But the "lines" in question were actually lines that I was planning on using in an upcoming MDP dream, further down the road. The words weren't exact, but they were pretty close to what I wanted to use. I guess that's proof that constantly thinking about something will have it end up in your dreams. This dream was cool because I told a DC some lines they would be saying as part of a story, as well as my own lines. Shortly after they said their first line, I forgot my own, but they reminded me what it was. And they were correct.

      It was night, and I was kneeling up on top of a taller building with Robert Downey Jr..

      The building was square-shaped on top, only about 10x10 feet, which probably wouldn't have been able to exist in real life. There was a taller building, the same shape, coming up against two adjacent sides of the building we were on, rising up past us by about least 10 feet. Past the building we were on, and the two beside us, were many other city structures that went off into the distance, creating a vast layout of buildings that looked incredibly realistic. I looked down.

      On the ground was a long road going right past the front of our building, which branched off into a few smaller roads. Sidewalks lined both sides of this road, and right next to the sidewalks were more buildings, one of which had a half-circle shaped "deli" sign made from polished brown wood and basic yellow-painted text.

      Since it was dark - the night sky was the deepest, darkest possible shade of blue in which you could still tell that it was actually blue - the whole city had a dark tone to it in terms of hues and shades. The street was lit by a few lights that didn't appear to be visible, and had a very warm, orange and pale red vibe, as if you were driving on that certain highway, one that's lit by street lights, at night. Our building had a paler, more bluish tone. The top of the building we were standing on was made of that tan or greyish asphalt stuff that was pressed down into a flat surface, which was fairly realistic.

      So we were essentially sitting there. I was down on one knee with my arm resting on the other one, just surveying the area. Robert was sitting against one of the buildings right up against the one we were on.

      "Come here," I told him, migrating to the edge of the building but still keeping a good few inches away from the edge. He quickly walked over and sat down next to me, the same distance as I was from the edge.

      "Downey, I'll give you your lines now. First you're going to say, rather dejectedly, they're still not going to stop. Nothing's changed. Then I'll say, keep trying. They're tired and uncertain now."

      He nodded. "Okay."

      "Then, I can see that. I'll try again. My last line will be, I'll be waiting for you downstairs. Got it?

      Again, he nodded his head and then got up, looking over onto the street. I too leaned over, still half-seated, and saw a few police cars parked half a block down the street, the red and yellow lights on the top of their cars flashing around and around.

      Robert Downey Jr. shrugged and started to say the lines, slightly different but still very similar to what I'd told him to say. "They won't stop." A brief pause and, "nothing is different."

      I turned to him to reply, opened my mouth, and totally blanked. I could remember my mind racing, trying to remember, but I couldn't. He then caught my eye and held his hand out in a gesturing motion. "Keep..." and looked at me expectantly.

      "Keep trying, they're tired and uncertain now."

      "Good. I can see that. I'll try again."

      Then he started to turn around and walk away. My gaze followed him for an instant and then I looked back to the police cars.

      I woke up.

    13. Mini City in a Warehouse, Killer Marshmallow Men,and a Nazi Scientist's Experimental Dream Facility

      This dream was insane, I’ve never dreamt anything like it. It started out with my friends and I inside of a city, that was inside of a warehouse. None of the buildings inside were real, nor were they the size of actual buildings, but they were still semi-large. The tallest building was probably about 10-15 feet tall. The warehouse was huge and divided into rooms, but I didn’t discover this until later. The room I was currently in… It’s hard to say how big it was, if I were to talk around it’s perimeter it would probably take about 10 minutes or so.

      I was walking around with my friend Kyle, and my cousin Trey maybe? I’m unsure of who I was with, but I’m pretty certain Kyle was one of them, and that most of my friends were there at some point. We were just walking around the city until we came to a guy, in front of whom was a cylindrical ash tray sort of thing, similar to the ones at my school. Inside of it were bunches of electronic cigarettes that contained THC-liquid instead of nicotine. We walked up and tried them, and the guy said it was ok to take as much as we want. I took a hit and then felt really weird, not high, but very different. The guy told me I could take another and I did.

      That’s when people ran by, and then I saw a huge shadow on the ground. The guy selling the e-cigs told us to run and we did. There was a giant walking around that looked like the marshmallow giant from ghost busters, except he wasn’t super huge, his size was proportionate to the smaller scale of the city height. I wasn’t necessarily afraid, but I didn’t want to find out what happened if the giant caught me. Eventually he passed by and then I leaped onto a building. It wasn’t very big, it was about 10 feet tall and has a 5x5 perimeter. I looked around and I could see the giants shadows, there were three now, and one looked like the pilsbury doughboy. I think this is when I realized I was dreaming, because of the height I jumped and the odd scale of the city.

      I decided to ignore and forget about the giants and I leaped down. I was walking and I saw a group of people, I don’t remember who all of them were, but I remember one was this girl I knew from high school and hadn’t seen in a long time. I approached her and started undressing her, her naked body was kind of weird looking and not very sexually stimulating. At this point my dream collapsed. I was sitting in the darkness. It felt like my eyes were closed inside of my dream, so I attempted to open my dream eyes, but then it felt like I was opening my real eyes so I stopped and sat in darkness. I started thinking about the person I was just looking at and then poof. Dream reinstated!

      I reentered the same dream, but I entered it at an earlier point in the dream that had already passed. I had just gotten down from the building and was already halfway to the girl I knew. I walked up to her again and she was pissed about what I had done earlier. I just ignored her and decided to explore, Brandon was coming with me.

      We started walking around and we found a door. We entered it and it took us into a house almost. To my left was a hallway shaped like a T with a door in the center, and possibly doors at the ends of the horizontal hallway. To might right was a wall with a door on it. The doors were all wooden. In front of me was a living room, and to my back left was a little kitchen. I decided to try the door on my right first. I walked through it and found myself in this weird warehouse-type room. It wasn’t as large as the warehouse in which the city was in. I could have walked around this one in a minute, easily a minute if I ran.

      There was a metal ramp that led up then switched back and went up higher to a control room looking sort of thing. There was also some type of machine in the room. I walked up the ramps and approached the controls to find that there were four or five key inputs. Prior to this I had thought I was in some type of Korean facility, but upon reading some papers I found at the control center I realized I was in a German facility. That’s when it hit me somehow. I gained this belief, I’m not sure where it came from, but I was in some type of experimental dream facility. It had been created and abandoned long ago, I hypothesized it had been created by nazi scientists who were conducting dream-related experiments. This place was a product of their experiments and existed in the dream realm maybe? - is what I thought (remember the part of your brain responsible for logic is largely inactive while you are dreaming)

      Unfortunately I couldn’t read German so I began examining the machine. I concluded that I need a key for each key insert to activate the machine. I decided I wanted to activate the machine because it must have been the reason I was there. I went back into the room with the living room and kitchen and tried the door in the middle of the T next. It took me into an office. Inside was a nice leather chair and nice office furniture. There were book shelves and other decorations about. I began opening the desk drawers and searching for a key.

      Up until this point my dream had collapsed at least three additional times. Every time I just waited in the darkness for it to come back, refusing to try to open my eyes. I sat there, or rather existed there, thinking about the dream I was having until I’d reenter it. I began to suspect I was approaching the end of my REM-cycle and concluded it was the reason my dream kept cutting out; my body was trying to wake up, but I wasn’t letting it. While searching for the key however, I unfortunately woke up. I tried going back to sleep, but I did not reenter that same dream. Instead I began having these extremely short nonsensical dreams that always began in a random place and didn’t go anywhere. I woke up from these short dreams repeatedly.

      Bought myself a nice new leather-bound journal a while back to write my dreams in. Here are the first few entries:

      1. (5/9/11) I remember taking a test and thinking that it didn't apply to me.

      2. (5/10/11) Had a New York City dream. On the bus somewhere, I was hearing this announcement over a PA system about tennis rackets. We stopped at a Walmart for food. I feel like it was morning so the stop was for breakfast. I remember Julie telling this story to the people who decided to stay on the bus when we stopped. She said that she and her family were all coming back from a trip when they were in Dundee. They all got sick outside of this gas station and as an apology, her dad bought the biggest mushroom the store had. It was slightly larger than a basketball. They took it home, cut it into people shapes and put the little mushroom people on their Christmas tree. Julie's story was the end of the dream.

      3. (5/11/11) I remember Eric getting on the microphone at DJ trivia and announcing something.

      4. (5/12/11) Two fragments:
      • Took place at a house in the country and I feel like it had something to do with senior ball, or what went afterwards.
      • Me in the car with my dream-mother talking about something hilarious. I know that this dream was video-game-based and it took place immediately before I woke up.


      5. (5/14/11) Dreamed I was in TWO three-day comas. both from car accidents. Wrecked the truck, then the Honda.
