1. Lucid: Treasure Hunting With Dwarves

While falling asleep, mantra: "I am aware"

Dream #1 - I am with my friend, R__. She's driving a car - one belonging to one of my relatives, according to my dream-memory, but in real life none of them own a gray minivan. We're driving around a mall parking lot. We can't seem to find a parking space. She accidentally hits another car while pulling into a parking space, and I cringe at the sound, but she's more angry about it than worried. She decides to try to use a note left on her windshield to explain why she parked in one of the restricted parking spots, by claiming she can't walk that far, but I don't think that will hold up under scrutiny. She finally gives up and parks pretty far away from the mall entrance. We can see it from where we are, but it's quite a walk.

I briefly wake up from the dream and try to carry my awareness with me into my next dream, using my mantra.

As soon as the dream reforms, I am instantly lucid. I'm inside of the mall from the previous dream, but R__ is gone now. The lucid dream has the crystal clarity characteristic of my lucid. Since I'm not outdoors (unusual), rather than the usual sweeping landscapes and storm-swept skies, instead the architecture inside of the mall is extremely grand. Super high vaulted ceilings, probably 80-100 feet high, with graceful arches carved out of solid pale pink marble and golden inlays. Intricate carvings and sculptures. White marble floors. The whole thing looks more like the inside of a cathedral than a mall.

I look around and think, "This is definitely a dream". I inspect my hand - it's perfectly formed. I do a reality check by trying to push one hand through the other, but I can't. I shrug it off - I know I'm dreaming. I try to fly, and hover in the air above the crowds milling around the mall. My lucidity tends to fade very quickly while I'm flying, though - there's something about not having my feet on the ground that does that. So I land, and then crawl on the floor and inspect the marble tiles. There's grime between them and they feel a little gritty - this place needs to be swept and mopped.

I decide to go treasure hunting. I reach into my back pocket - for some reason, I'm wearing a skirt with pockets - and feel around for a map. I feel crumpled paper and tug. I pull out a sheet of notebook paper, folded in half several times, and unfold it. There is a map on it, scribbled in blue pen, but I can't read what it says. It also has little pictures. I decide that I need to go find a dream character who CAN read it, and if I'm going to treasure hunt, I'm going to do it in style - which means having a whole group of treasure hunters with me. I run my hand along the wall as I walk.

I walk toward the food court - well, an archway I have decided is the food court. The floor slopes downward between it in a ramp, heading underground. I can see tables in the distance. I decide that's kind of boring and want it to be something more exciting. As I approach, it morphs into a Viking style beer hall. I'm pretty satisfied - this is definitely more fun.

I enter the beer hall, which is smokey and full of warriors eating and drinking. There is an empty space in the middle with a fire-pit that looks like it's used by entertainers - wrestlers, musicians, etc. The benches on either side are elevated on steps, sort of like bleachers, so everybody can see. Nobody is performing right now, though.

I see a group of 5 or 6 Tolkein-style Dwarves over to one side. They look like they're having a pretty good time. I approach them and introduce myself. Their leader is a pretty buff looking Dwarf. He has long, thick braided brown hair and is wearing a sort of heavy brown leather harness that has what looks like a lion's mane stitched around the neck and shoulders. He greets me respectfully:
"I am Lokmin, son of (I can't remember his dad's name)." He thumps his chest (which is more Roman, I guess, but whatever).
I hold out my treasure map. "I've found a map to potential treasure, but it might be dangerous."
The Dwarves deliberate over my wrinkled sheet of notebook paper, making sounds of interest and approval. Lokmin looks like he's about to make the decision to follow me...

But unfortunately, we never got to find the treasure. I live near an airport - one of the EXTREMELY LOUD jets that I LOATHE flies overhead, waking me up and ending my lucid dream. I was pretty upset. Even now there's another really loud jet flying overhead. I hate those things, and the airport by extension (it wasn't always noisy here - they moved the flight paths).

I go back to sleep, trying to re-enter the dream, but I'm too irritated to focus.

Dream #3 - I dream that I am taking naked photographs of myself using my laptop camera and didn't realize the curtain across the sliding glass door in the living room was sheer. I figure either nobody saw me, or they didn't care.

2. Legos and A Map To My Doctor

by , 03-09-2013 at 03:47 AM
First thing I can recall is being in my doctor's office. Of course, as n most dreams, nothing is right.

The interior of the building is appointed much like so many medical buildings...utilitarian furniture and carpet in shades of gray and brownish-orange. I'm on the ground floor of the building and behind me is a large waiting area, a large skylight illuminating the far wall and a patch of floor near the door that leads to the patient examination rooms.

Something drew me to a desk in front of me, slightly closer to the middle of the building. A man (possibly a doctor) and a woman need to find their way to my doctor's office and I know I can help. I tell them...

"I have an app on my phone for that. I can help!"

The doctor and I both pulled out our phones. I watched him press a small recessed button below the screen of his phone and the display lit up with the time and some other useless stuff. I pressed a similar button on my phone and a map of the building appeared on the screen. Drawn on a white background was a pattern of the building in black and red lines, and peering closely at the screen revealed the names of doctors corresponding to where they were located in the building.

At one end of the U-shaped building was the area behind me, Doctor Walker's offices, which was where the lost people needed to go. Following the map I saw the entire shape of the building, the map auto-rotating to reveal the other levels and the offices within. The 3-story building was quite intricate on the map though it was only three stories at one end of the building.

I felt I had done a good job drawing the map, especially since I had done it on my phone with my finger an a drawing app. An overwhelming urge to build the structure came over me and I leaned down to my Lego box to begin assembling the necessary pieces. I started with a green base which I attached two large supports from the farm-kit my daughter had in her Lego box. I was slightly bothered because they were tan but I wanted them to be red. I knew there was nothing for it so I continued building, adding pieces to link the supports together.

Unfortunately my building skills in the dream were less than stellar and my construction kept falling apart. My frustration is all I recall, though I believe the dream continued on.

Oddly, drawing a map and working with Legos are both dream goals of mine for future lucids. I hope I can work these elements into a lucid dream.
3. Google chromebook; Starring in a movie; Directing people to Coronado

3/1/13 Friday bed time 1:45am - 9am.

Was watching rerun of The Americans. Was suppose to be going till 3:30am. I was contemplating to finish watching it and then start on a work, that just arrived (I work over internet). Decided to go to sleep instead and start work in the morning.

3 long and detailed dreams at 9am.

DR 1
I'm in a larger room with lots of people. Older gentlman tells me he needs to go to Coronado and asks if it's thataway. I tell him no, it's by San Diego. I take him to a large map on the wall. I show him we are here at Fashion Island. He can take a 5 or PCH. It was 2pm and he had enough time to get there by 5pm, when he was suppose to be there. I ask someone to confirm that he will make it on time.

After we are done, I take the map down, fold it, but someone hands it to someone outside of the bus (I'm on a bus now). I tell them no, that's my map and show them my hadwritten notes with pencil on top of the map and I take it back.

DR 2
I'm with a group of friends. They walk away a few feet and start singing a limerick about how stupid google chromebook is, because it's made in China from parts made in CzechoSlovenia. I get pissed at them and complain to someone - you think they are friends but they are not. I thank them for being dicks and insulting my country. (I did research that laptop before bed IWL)

DR 3
This was a first dream, and I remember the least from it.

We are filming and I play a part. We are taking different shots and takes. It's a fun and easygoing athmosphere.

4. 28 Jan: Curse and ascending/descending in the dream plane

by , 01-28-2013 at 04:39 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

On a cruise ship that gets stranded near the shore of an island. The captain and crew tell people not to leave the ship until we're rescued, but I feel that a storm is coming and it's dangerous to stay in the ship, so I leave with some close friends. The others are hit by the storm and of course the ship sinks and many die. But some manage to reach the island and they bring some sort of curse with them. As they set foot on the island, it turns into a desert. As I and my friends struggle to cross this desert, we see the others maybe a mile away behind us, being engulfed by a grasshoper cloud. We run to escape the bugs and I fall over a huge slab partially cover by sand, which has the map of the earth carved on. As I focus on a particular spot on that map, I feel pulled into a vortex and I fall, fall, fall into the darkness. I find myself in a dark place inside my head, I feel my "real" body outside and I realize I'm sleeping. I almost wake up but I hang in there and very faint shapes start to form. I seem to wander through a landscape as seen through a scanning microscope. I see microscopic life forms, very small seeds germinating, microbes, the detail of the "ground" with nanometric resolution. Amazing.
Then I feel a force pulling me up and I rise, rise, rise. The darkness gives place to a white light that becomes brighter and brighter. I tumble through the light and then I am laid o a solid surface. I look around and I'm surrounded by ducks, a goose, water spouts, bits of grass, mud, sheep... I turn my head and behind me is a brown bear. I get scared and jump, but he seems to be more afraid and runs to the opposite direction. Then I realize there are animals of all species around me, herbivores and carnivores, all gathered, as waiting for something. I look beyond them and I see we're in the middle of some kind of square in a village, with an interesting mix of European style traditional buildings. I also spot some human beings in the distance, but before I contact them, I'm surrounded by three guys who don't seem to want to sing Kumbaya. They grab me and I use some kenpo moves in self-defense. Usually I use my dream kung fu skills, but this time I consciently applied the lessons from my real life training and it worked (I clearly notice that my left side is my weakness and that I must work it.) Also, the dudes didn't count on my ability to fly. I fly up, up, up, and the darkness descends upon me again.
Everything is black, except for a faint blueish light from a window to my left. Something touches my back. A black cat makes an appearance and guides me through what seems to be a house at night. He climbs up some furniture and invites me to follow him, until we reach a door near the ceiling, which could be a door to an attic, maybe. I hear voices and lights turn up. Some guys are entering the room and I feel urgency in leaving, so I go through the door and I wake up.

I get up from the couch, feeling so sleepy and my mom is standing at the door looking at me, commenting that I slept over today. "Yeah, I was so tired." But something doesn't add up and I do a RC. I am still dreaming. I think about using the opportunity but I feel the vortex sucking me again and I wake up.
I did overslept and my mom had indeed entered the house, but she left when she realized I was sleeping.

5. Kidnapped in a Sinister Plot

by , 11-17-2012 at 10:59 AM
over 6 years ago I think

I was kidnapped by a group of thugs and put in the back seat of some sedan. They had guns and I think hoods. My dad may have bin in the car. We pull up to a country home. It had a porch wrapped around two sides and was slightly run down. To get to the front door you had to walk up some stairs to the left of the driveway. At the top to the left was a yard and to the right was the house. Their was a tree in the yard, hard dirt, probably some chew toys, and bushy ivy covered banks that sloped down to the road and driveway below.

Inside the house in the living room was a table with a large map. My parents were there with the thugs and kind of making fun of me. They all went over some plan with me and explained what was going on. I still thought it was messed up. We went back outside and the tree had pages from a book in place of its leaves. I think I was supposed to use them to break some code. I had trouble getting all the pages. END

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was at someone's house. I think it was my friend's house. Actually, I was in her backyard.

I remember putting my stuff down on the ground. It was nighttime when I did. Suddenly, I saw the hugest cricket jump across my pillow that I was sitting on.

I fumbled for my phone, it had a flashlight on it. I quickly changed the default blue color to yellow. I then moved the flashlight around on the ground, looking for the cricket in hopes that it wouldn't come near me. I quickly gathered up all of my stuff and got up.

23.06.2012
Time Machine (Non-lucid)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I remember walking down some stairs. A boy named Shawn (he's in my class), was in front of me. Another, much smaller (in comparison to Shawn) boy walked next to him.

We eventually found the end of the stairs. There was what looked like a kitchen at the bottom. It was dark. Suddenly, Shawn grabs a plastic bag and hurls into it.

I recoiled back, still standing on the stairs.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," he replied.
We walked out the big door in front of us, it led to our school's playground. We walked around and found a picnic table to sit on.

I looked over and saw some of the guys playing football. One of them was Mike. He turned and looked at me. He smiled. I smiled back.

A woman walked up to me. She introduced herself, but I don't remember who she was. She told me that we had traveled back in time and that I was now in the 7th grade.
Confused, I asked her how. I don't remember her answer, but I followed her to this tube plane. It reminded me of the play place at McDonald's. It was certainly colored that way.

I sat in some sort of tubed seat. The woman sat beside me, and another person my age sat beside her. There was a large electronic map in front of us.

The woman pressed a button. "Sorry," she muttered. "it gets bumpy at the start." It did indeed. It sent a wave of nausea through me.

Then we were up in the air. "Where would you like to go?" she asked. I shrugged. I had no idea.

Apparently, this plane wasn't just capable of time traveling, you could also go to anywhere on the planet with just a tap of a button; or see anything, anywhere, with super "magnifiers", like a satellite.

The woman chose a place on an island. Apparently that location was her headquarters. She pointed on the map at the island. The map went closer, showing her different regions of the island. She pointed to the "HQ" symbol.

I felt the plane vibrate just alittle bit. I can't imagine how fast it was going.

The woman said, "Just to let you know, there will be a whole family that will come on the plane for a short ride a little while later. I hope they don't, though." I blinked at her comment.

Eventually we reached the HQ. The plane settled down on what I thoguth was a platform. The plane shook just as much as it did when the it took off.
Finally, the plane settled.

"Sit tight." The woman said. But before she could move, the family that she talked about earlier piled into the cabin. More and more people were coming in, and I wondered if there was enough room to fit us all.

A young child squeezed beside me on my left, making the woman have to scoot ove. "Hi." the little child said, staring up at me.
"Hello there," I replied back, my mouth full of food. (Where did I get that?)

I remember sometime later on that there was a battle between some sort of gods or spirits. The bad spirits were trying to destroy us for "wrecking the peace" with the time machine. The good spirits were trying to protect us from them.
10. south america map; eating medals; girls' race; food before hike; no sex in loft; girl's movements

by , 12-09-2011 at 03:27 PM
Good morning, everybody.

Dream #1

I was walking with a couple "friends" through a large area like a mix between a museum and an airport. The floors were grey. There was at least one balcony overhead. The light was a watery-white fluorescent.

One of my friends was a woman. She going to take a trip somewhere in South America. It was somehow like I had gotten her interested in this trip, or like I had gotten her involved with some organization that had put her on this trip.

The woman was kind of worried about how the trip was going to turn out. She didn't even know exactly where she was going in South America. But she didn't want to be so far away from the equator that she was always cold, and she didn't want to be in such a small town that there was never anything to do.

I told the woman that we would look at a map of South America. If she told me enough about the place she was going, I could probably figure out where it was on the map.

I now saw that the big area we were in had a gigantic map of South America. The map stood upright. It was maybe twenty meters tall. It was shaded to match the land forms and vegetation areas of South America. It may have been three-dimensional as well. On the floor, perpendicular to the map, was a long platform-like base with words on it.

I pointed through the moderate crowd up toward the map of South America. I could almost imagine myself driving along some of the roads in South America.

The woman must have been telling me about the place, because I was gettng a distinct impression that she was going to ----- (? - Chile, or Argentina?). I told the woman she didn't have to worry, that she would be going to a very warm place.

But now we were walking up toward a whole new map. I don't know what happened to the previous map. But we'd never gotten very close to it. But now we were getting up much closer to the second tall map.

The second map may have been larger than the first map as well. For some reason, I was afraid to be so close. The map was all blue. The ocean surrounding South America was a dark blue. South America was a pale blue or turquoise.

One city near the northeast end of South America began blinking. But the woman then told me the name of the city where she would be: "Las Ne-----." That city started blinking, just a little to the southwest of the very center of South America.

I knew that this city was in Brazil. The city was small, and the winters got very cold there. The woman would be miserable. But this is where she'd been assigned to go. And I'd gotten her into this whole thing in the first place! I felt terrible. But I still tried to convince myself that maybe she'd end up liking it.

I looked over to my friend. She was now TB, a male co-worker from a couple jobs back, who IWL comes from Brazil.

Dream #2

I was riding a bike through a suburban park, along a concrete path. It was a sunny day. I was all alone, but I may possibly have felt like I was a part of some race.

I rode across a lawn, which was flat at first, then rolled down a small slope. As I went down the slope there was a small building about fifty meters ahead of me and off to my left. I headed for another concrete path at the bottom of the slope.

Closer to the path was a small tree, kind of like a pine tree. But its limbs and branches were rather barren of needles. The branches were also dotted with a strange kind of fruit.

The meat of the fruit was yellow, but very small. It was dotted with seeds, like a strawberry is. But the seeds had either grown so big or ingested so much of the fruit's meat, that they were huge, taking up more space now than the meat of the fruit did. The seeds were shaped like coffee beans. There were also brownish pine-needles sticking out of the fruit.

As I got down toward the concrete path, a young woman came biking up the slope toward me. I figured she was gay (a shallow assumption) because she was overweight, wore a boyish t-shirt and khaki shorts, and had a boyish haircut of curly, brown hair.

I knew that this woman was in a race. I figured it was probably the race I was also in. I didn't seem too concerned about the race, though.

I was now eating as I was riding. Maybe I was eating something like beef jerky or fruit roll-ups. I remember I was chewing like crazy, almost like a wild, angry animal.

I pulled a small, narrow paper back out into my field of view. I pulled two small pins out of the bag. They were backed with brass and fronted with some kind of multi-colored, glass or porcelain design. They were medals for races I'd won.

I may have been stopped and standing or sitting on the lawn by this point. I may possibly have popped one or both of the medals in my mouth, as if I were going to eat them. But I suddenly realized that you don't eat medals. You save them. I was really hungry. But I put the medals back in the bag.

Dream #3

I was inside some kind of structure with a lot of people. The structure -- I'm guessing -- was a tent made out of tarp-like material, like you see for big picnics or for large booths during summertime festivals. The walls were all pulled down, though, so that the sunlight coming through them was a dim, dusty amber.

I was in the midst of the crowd, talking with two little Asian girls. They were maybe five years old. They were good friends. They both had short hair, cut about jaw-length.

The two girls were now being called away, maybe by one girl's dad, who may have been a tall, kind of skinny, white man. The girls had to go get ready for a running race.

I now stood in another area. I looked up to my right. There was a doorway in the wall of the tarp. From that doorway, a plastic-boarded running-track was laid out through the center of the structure. It was bordered on either side by some kind of barrier -- maybe a jumble of stretch-tape barriers, steel-gate barriers, and plastic net barriers.

Everybody milled around on either side of this race track, kind of half-anticipating the start of the race. I may have looked up through the doorway to see the girls. They were in their starting positions, which were actually a few meters outside the doorway.

I was now back a ways from the track. The race started. Two girls may have run into the structure. But I didn't know one of the girls. The other girl was one of the friends. But she now seemed much younger than the other friend I'd been talking to. And she didn't know how to stay in her own lane. She was veering far to the left.

The race may have been stopped, due to the lack of focus by its two participants. Or it may have continued, though nobody really cared about it anymore.

But I wondered what happened to the other girl I'd been talking to. I may have looked (maybe only in my mind's eye) up through the doorway again. I may have come to the conclusion that thing had been so confusing at the start of the race that the girl had tripped and fallen.

I was sad that the girl had fallen. Everybody knew she was the favorite to win the race. I thought they might even start the race all over again for her sake. But maybe they wouldn't. That might not be fair.

I then thought that maybe I had caused the girl to fall. Maybe, while I'd been talking to the two little girls, I'd caused the older little girl to become so sexually attracted to me that she was distracted, and so she'd messed up her footing at the beginning of the race.

Dream #4

I was sitting in a seating area of a small deli with my friend MG, a Swedish guy I'd worked with on an Americorps program in New York.

We were going on some hike somewhere. We'd stopped at this deli to pick up some stuff before we left. But then we'd decided to sit here for a while before we really headed off and drove to wherever we were going to start this hike.

The table we sat at was a small, two-person table. From about waist-height up, there was a mirror running along the wall to my left. Across the narrow dining area from me, some refrigerated food and beverage display cases lined the walls. The floors of the area were brown tile. Farther ahead, behind MG, I could see where this area opened up into the larger store area of the deli.

Two girls walked down toward, then past, our table. The girls were maybe eighteen or nineteen years old. They were incredibly hot, with blonde hair, tight shorts and soft t-shirts clinging closely to their breasts. It seemed like the girls may have been planning to go hiking, too.

The girls sat directly behind us. It seemed like they wanted us to talk to them. But I felt like I was too old to hit on eighteen-year-old girls. I'd look like a dirty, old man.

My backpack (? - don't wear one) was on the table in front of me. It was stuffed so full it almost looked like a green ball. I unzipped it and pulled out a clear, disposable container, like you might see in a deli, holding a single slice of cake.

The container held a meal or side dish made out of rice and a ton of black beans and black bean sauce. I ate the entire meal, scraping as much of the black bean sauce as I possibly could.

MG said, "Are you sure you have enough ----- for our hike?" I didn't know whether he meant food or water. So I told him I was fine. I said that after I'd eaten this thing, I wouldn't need anything else for the rest of the day.

MG said, "Well, I guess some people just have different bodily needs. It's kind of amazing to me. I would never go that long without -----."

I now wondered whether I hadn't misunderstood MG. I'd just eaten a ton of food, it seemed to me. Why would I need to eat anymore for the rest of the day? MG must have meant that I'd need water. And now that I thought of it, I didn't have any water in my backpack. I would need water.

I looked over to one of the refrigerated display cases. It was a narrow cabinet with a glass door, holding a bunch of sodas and waters. I saw a few waters, like Poland Spring waters, on the bottom shelf. I figured I'd buy one of those.

Dream #5

I was in an apartment with a pretty girl. It was night, and all the lights in the apartment were off. The only light in the apartment was from dim city lights and the light of the moon, which was apparently full and huge, so bright that the rest of the sky was inky black.

I was apparently house-sitting here. I'd invited the girl over for the night. The apartment was big and nice. But the living room held both the couch and the bed. My viewpoint kept changing between the couch and the bed.

The girl was over in the shadows of the room, maybe in a corner near the door. She had specifically come here to have sex with me. But now I seemed to be afraid to have sex with her. I may have expressed a fear that I didn't want to be having sex right at the moment when the people I was house-sitting for returned.

I was now sitting with my back to a window or to a sliding-glass door. But some part of the window must have been open, because a gauzy, billowy curtain kept wafting up around me. I may have been looking off to my right, to a TV set, which was turned off.

The girl was on the phone, either the apartment's phone or her own cell phone (which may have been an old, silvery, flip-open style phone). The girl was talking to her friend, complaining about all my excuses for not having sex with her. These excuses were mostly about the apartment itself.

"But," the girl said, "if this place were a loft apartment, where we were the only ones who could get into the entire floor, there'd be no worry about anybody seeing us coming into the apartment."

(This had, I guess, been one of my worries.)

The girl now said, "But, wait! Isn't this a loft? This is! This is a loft apartment! We have the whole floor to ourselves!"

I realized the girl was right. Maybe we could have sex, after all. But suddenly my mind began filling up with a million other reasons why the girl and I couldn't have sex.

I was now kneeling on the floor, near the corner of a coffee table that stood before the couch. The girl was back to complaining to her friend on the floor about all the excuses I kept giving for not having sex.

All the time I listened to the girl, and thought of ways to get past all my silly excuses, so that I could have sex, I was staring at a sculpture of a woman's torso.

The sculpture was nicely shaped. But it seemed to be brittle and plastery. And the skin was a little too orange to look human. The torso was made to look like it wore a black bra and a skinny pair of black panties. I may have been turned on by the panties.

Dream #6

I was out in some area, kind of like a parking lot that was being used for a summer festival or fair. There were a decent amount of people milling about.

A little girl was milling around with her mom and dad, maybe five meters away from me. The mom and dad were standing at a distance, maybe eating some food. The dad was tall and thin, bald, wearing a white polo shirt. The mom was shorter, maybe a little overweight, blonde, with a kind of saggy face.

The girl was maybe nine years old, blonde, with tan skiny. She wore a summer dress with thick straps and a plaid pattern with a dark pink background and lighter pink criss-crosses. The girl stood in front of some sort of belt-rope barrier.

The girl began doing dance moves or gymnastics moves, possibly while she was eating an ice cream cone. She lifted her right leg out to her side, then bent over to touch her right arm to her right leg. She then "bounced" off her leg and twirled her torso and arms over to the left. She moved into something like a somersault, then stood and began the move again.

As the girl did all of this, her limbs formed trails, like in a multiple exposure photograph or film, so that it looked like the girl, as she moved, was forming phantom arms and legs. It was really beautiful.
11. Threatening Map (Nov 11, 2011)

by , 11-13-2011 at 12:06 AM (Realm of Insanity)
I'm looking at a map with little landmarks. A female voice behind me tells me to sketch a river on the map with ny finger. I move my finger from the bottom of the map to the top.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because," she says, "it is going to be the river I throw you in if you continue to bother me."

12. heavy guitar and dancing; can't run at the zoo

by , 10-03-2011 at 12:46 PM
Good morning, everybody.

Dream #1

I was in some place that looked like a living room. But there were a lot of people there. The living room was lit with natural light, which came in through a big window off to my left. I sat along a wall with a lot of other people. In front of the window may have been some boxes or cases, like guitar cases.

A tall, white man with shoulder-length, brown hair walked up to one of the guitar cases and picked it up. (Or he may have brought a guitar case to the window and sat it down.) It looked like the man was struggling a bit with the guitar and case. So I got up to help the man.

I found that I was really of no help at all. I tried to grab one end of the case and just dropped it. The case was really heavy! Somehow the man managed to arrange the case or pick it up or something.

I knew the guitar was the man's guitar. I knew the man was in a band, so that he was out playing this guitar all the time. I asked the man, "No offense, don't take this the wrong way. But -- how can you play a guitar like that for a whole show?" By this time the man had the guitar out and was tuning it. I continued, "I can barely lift the thing. How can you carry it for a whole show?"

The man may have made some comment to me about how I shouldn't be so lazy, and how it wasn't so hard to carry the guitar.

I got a closer look at the guitar. It was made up of a lot of gagues and meters, like for some kind of electrical reading apparatus. The strings and tuning knobs themselves looked more like high-tech machine parts than guitar parts.

The man had started playing something. An old woman came up to me, as if to dance with me to the music. The old woman was just a bit shorter than I, with a big, round hairstyle of dyed-bright-red hair. She was slightly tan, with slightly wrinkled skin. She wore black sunglasses and some kind of white, soft, leather jacket.

I spun the old woman around a few times. But I started to wonder if everybody around me would think I was in love with this old woman, since I was dancing with her.

I sat in the room, in the dark. A light shone on the wall across from me. It was like a round spotlight. It shone on two or three spots of a map. The spots may have moved around. The map showed countries, possibly like in Europe. The colors of the countries were probably pink, purple, and orange.

I was standing up again, in the daylight again, and possibly dancing with another person, possibly my brother or sister.

Dream #2

I was in a place like a zoo or some kind of national park. It was daytime. The light was slightly pale, the sky may have been partly cloudy, and the air cool and a little breezy. I had just walked away from some group of people, possibly my family, or maybe a group of friends. I think I went away from them so I could go get my shoes.

I was walking on a wide, stone-tile path. There were big groups of people all over the place. Off to my left was an asphalt path that went back through a moderately wooded area, up a small hill, possibly to some mansion at the top of the hill. I kept going forward.

I walked past long stretches of benches that ran along the curves of the wide stone-tile path. There were crowds of people standing and lounging around, and crowds of people sitting on the benches.

Toward the end of one of the stretches of benches I saw an old friend from high school, Michelle, who I hadn't thought about in years. She looked a lot different. She had short hair, buzzed all around the sides, with just a flip of dyed-blue hair for a kind of bangs-effect. She wore a blue hoodie and blue jeans. She may have been sitting with a girl, who may have been her girlfriend.

I was happy to see Michelle again, and I called to her. I may actually have thought she was one of my cousins. I had to keep on going -- I had to find my shoes -- but I yelled out to Michelle, as I passed her, that I'd stop to talk to her when I got back.

This path had apparently run along the edge of a cliff or steep slope, which was off to my right. The path went down a gentle slope just past where I saw Michelle. I must have gotten down to the bottom of the slope.

In my mind's eye I saw my shoes: they were old, worn out, brown leather shoes, almost like something in a Van Gogh painting.

I don't know if I ever found my shoes. But I was now running back up the hill. I had to get back to the people I left, so we could leave the "zoo" for the day. And I had to get back to them on time. But before I went back to the people I'd left, I wanted to see if I could talk to my friend/cousin one last time.

But as I was running, I got jammed up. It was like some person in the park was trying to be a jerk and had gotten in my way. Somehow I'd gotten tangled up with this person, who I couldn't see -- I think they were behind me. I kept struggling and struggling until I was free. I then kicked the person.

When I turned around to the person -- I'd expected to see some tall, white guy who was being a jerk -- I saw a kind of short, really fat, black woman in a police officer's uniform. The woman started yelling at me, "You think it's cool to hit a police officer? You're gonna pay for that!"

I was trying to figure out what I needed to do to make up to the police officer. But she now started giving me a kind of mild lecture on how there was no running in the zoo, how it was too dangerous. She may have said, "Especially when you're not wearing shoes."

I suddenly realized I knew this woman. She "had been" a "ranger" at one of the New York City Parks I'd worked at in the past. (IWL she had been a different kind of worker than a ranger.) She was now a bit taller than me, in much better shape, with a bit lighter skin-tone, and wearing a ranger's uniform.

The woman started talking to me about what had been going on in the parks since I had left. I thought this woman was taking up all the time I'd wanted to spend talking to my cousin/friend. I thought she could even make me too late to re-join my group and go home. But I thought I should sit here and listen to her anyway. I was still trying to make up for having, technically, assaulted her.

The woman's main focus was some woman who had gotten kicked out of the Parks Service. The kicked-out woman had done some apparently scandalous things. But they didn't sound very scandalous: mostly just spending too much time talking to park-goers and not enough time doing her actual job.

As my old co-worker spoke, it became night. My old co-worker became a kind of tall, overweight man wearing glasses. The man was black, with a light skin-tone and freckles. We stood in the blue night, at the edge of an asphalt path, near a stand of some tall pine trees.

The man kept telling the story of the kicked-out woman. Apparently on the day the woman had been confronted, she'd been having a really bad day. She'd actually gotten violent with some people. But now that she'd been confronted, she'd gotten even more violent.

The man backed himself deep into the stand of trees, almost to the edge of some cliff or steep slope. I had to walk into the trees to see the man, who stood under a clear sky hung with a huge, clear, white moon.

The man began acting out all the violent motions the woman had made when she had been confronted. The man was tossing his limbs all over the place and shouting. He looked crazy. I was a little afraid, as if I thought the man would attack me.
13. 27th Shared Dreaming Attempt- BiscuitHappyz's Dream

by , 09-06-2011 at 12:42 AM (Lyrics to Lunacy)
Just fragments tonight, but I'll post them anyway.

1st fragment: I was playing a broken Minecraft adventure map, and after reading many complaints on the forums about how the map was poorly drawn and upside down and all that, I played it anyway. I glanced at a yellowed, ink-drawn map with some villages and towns marked as circles at several times throughout the dream. The dream fragment ends when I am sneaking around a dock and examining a boring ship, preparing for a voyage, from around a building.

2nd fragment: I was at an airport parking lot at dawn. I had been in this exact setting before, on vacation. I walked up to the typical reflection of a bored, unenthusiastic, minimum wage, college-aged teenager at a ticket booth. He wore a Lowe's Uniform. I was about to pay a ticket, but then
I was shocked into lucidity. It was so ungraceful I almost tipped over.
Sadly, my first thought was how lightly I was sleeping. I could start to feel the pillow under my shoulders. Focus... focus...
My eyes, in waking life, opened. After several attempts to DEILD, I decided I was too awake to fall asleep again.

15. Family Murders

by , 08-29-2011 at 09:49 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
Travel. A map. A boat. Storm. Battle.

A family. Three girls and two boys. When they grew up, one of the boys went crazy and killed the three girls, and then he also died (not sure if through suicide or something else). I can see the grieving remaining boy. Didn't find the parents.
