1. The first time in awhile that I've done this 'Right' (LD #95)

by , 07-03-2014 at 10:31 AM (Lucid Time!)
I am inside of some kind of cafe or coffee shop where I become lucid. The shop is closed down, empty and the lights are off. I am standing near the back of the room. I just become lucid, I think I preformed a nose-pinch RC. I do several seconds of mental affirmation and then do some stabilization. It occurs to me that I have no set goals in mind and no real direction that I am taking the dream. I then just think to myself "I'll go outside and see where that gets me."
I step outside to see the front door of the coffee shop has landed me on my front porch outside my house. It is nighttime and it there is snow on the ground.
Shouldn't I feel cold...?
A chill feeling overtakes my arms, and to a lesser extent the rest of me. I begin to swing my arms around and experiment with the cold feeling. It doesn't feel 'Authentic', but there is defiantly a cold feeling there. I then look up to the sky.
I don't like to lucid dream at night. Darkness=low clarity, low clarity=sour LD. I look to the east and see the beginnings of a sunrise. So yeah, I could just wait around clinging to lucidity for the sun could come up, but that's not how we do things here, is it.
"Sundial" command. I extend my arm out to where the sun should be, just below the horizon and grab hold of it. I swing up and out in an arc across the sky, moving the sun to about 45 degrees above the horizon. I might have tweaked the position some more. It was truly fascinating to tweak the position of the sun, watching the sky change colors as I moved it closer/farther from the horizon. It was mostly clear, but there were a couple of clouds.
I moved the sun back below the horizon momentarily and looked at the stars. I could see the bands of the milky way, something not normally visible from my home due to light pollution. In this dream, it looked as though my neighborhood was deserted.
I finally put the sun where I wanted. But then I realized that it was too small. The sun felt weak, small and far away.
"Sun, Ignite!" I said.
Suddenly, the sun became this huge flaming ball about twice the size of the moon. The heat energy coming off of it was intense and all of the snow began melting all around me.
I then turned my attention to the moon. I swung the moon around and put it in the sky as well. The moon was the same size as the new larger sun, and they were pretty close to one another.
Then that part of my brain kicks in that gives me awesome things to do in LDs.
What if I could make an eclipse happen?
I grab hold of both the moon and the sun and try to make them overlap. I begin to lose the dream. The moon turns orange and the sun begins to distort into various non-circular shapes.
I wake up.
2. The Snow (lucid)

by , 06-12-2014 at 01:35 AM
I wake up from my usual night's sleep in order to go to the restroom. Don't recall my dreams. When I get back, I settle in, noting in my mind that this would be a good time for a lucid attempt, and then I allow myself to drift off.

One of the ways I initiate lucid dreaming is visualization. My particular mode is exploring an environment in my head, in detail. I know I'm entering the dream when the environment becomes easier to explore and more unpredictable. Sometimes there is a sense of "breaking the tension" and moving into lucidity. Sometimes it's more gentle. Sometimes I feel like things are still fuzzy and don't get the clarity I want. Like all lucid techniques, it's a mixed bag.

I grab onto the first location that drifts into my mind - an old apartment I used to live in. I am outside on the front lawn. I walk down the lawn and across the street and head for a stream that is on the other side of the complex. It is lined on either side by thick trees that were simply never knocked down by the developer.

When I reach the stream, I begin my explorations. I decide to do something I did there a lot as a child - look for rocks that would look good once they had been through a rock tumbler. I pick up a few rocks and examine them, but don't see anything I like. I continue walking down the stream, splashing my feet in the water.

The stream becomes larger and deeper. I have reached a part of the stream that no longer looks familiar.
I note that my visualization has become more intense. I walk from the center of the stream to the bank on the side, which has become muddy. As I continue walking, the stream becomes deeper and more turbulent, and has cut deeper into the banks. The banks have gone from the soft dark brown of midwestern soil to a burnt sienna color, and are gaining more of a texture of clay. If anybody has been to Georgia, they may know the color of soil I'm talking about.

The stream has become closer to a river. I imagine that a "duck" style vehicle could probably float down it now. For some reason, a roller coaster is now running along the side of the bank, but it isn't full scale. I take note of it. I try to assess my dream state, but it still feels "thin". There's not really much clarity, and I feel like trying to exert direct influence right now may cause it to fall apart.

The roller coaster has disappeared. I now see a pristine snow drift and a snow-covered hill leading upward from the river bank. I decide to see where the snow leads.

I begin walking through the snowy area. The snow becomes deeper, and as I continue forward, I start having trouble walking through it. I am heading up a steep hill, struggling through the snow. I look up the hill, and realize it leads up a mountain. I look down and I can see the path I've made through the snow. The stream is nowhere in sight - I'm now on a mountain in a mountain range. This is the tallest mountain. It's daytime, and the sky is very blue against the sparkling white snow.

I decide to continue heading upward to see what is up there. The sky becomes darker. The snow is almost up to my chest, and the way up is still very steep. I have no climbing equipment, so I flounder and climb the best I can. At this point, I feel like I am "deep" enough in the dream to start changing things, but I'm genuinely curious as to where this all leads.

Upward, in the distance, wind is picking snow up off the drifts and driving it in swirls across the mountainside. Through the wind and snow, nestled under a massive overhang in the rock of the mountain, I see... a fortress? Castle? It's made of stone. There are no lights; even though it is aesthetically beautiful, in a cold way, all of the openings look defense-oriented - places for archers or people with spears. The only place I see a dim light is what I assume is the entrance.

I reach the door. There is a flat area of stone that forms sort of a "landing", a level area carved out of the rock and laid with decorative stonework. A large, wooden door leads to what I assume is the interior of the fortress. The aesthetic is quite Gothic (but think of something in the style of Rheinstein Castle, not something like Cologne Cathedral). There are lights on either sides of the door, but interestingly, they seem more like gaslights than torches. The wood is stained a warm brown color and the fittings look like they are made of bronze.

There is a lever to open the door in front of it. I ponder how that really isn't very, you know, secure, but I get the feeling that not everybody is actually able to pull it. Only certain people can. I pull it with no problem, though. The door opens.

I walk into a gallery with an extremely high ceiling. There are massive chandeliers lit with huge candles, I count about 8 of them, and each one looks like it is the size of a small room. They look a little... Victorian. The whole thing seems cathedral-esque, but when I examine the gallery, I see that there are actually walkways high up on either side where archers could perch. Anybody trying to march through here could be easily sniped.

I'm not sure what I'm expecting. There are 2 doors at the very end of the gallery. The one to the right is open, and in the room there is a small screen, and it seems to be a bedroom of some sort, which I think is kind of weird. Then I realize it's a place for guards to rest, where they could easily access the gallery, so this might be an area that also leads to barracks. I still think it's a really weird layout. I go through the door that is right in front of me, though.

It leads to a dark room with stone walls and outlets to a hallway on either side. I'm not sure what I expected, but it wasn't this. The scenery still feels blurry and not 100% real, which is also a bit frustrating.

I walk through the door directly across me. I am in another room with high ceilings and a large chandelier. Things are getting blurry and kind of falling apart. The architecture is getting weird and I feel like it's getting "wrong". I begin to feel frustrated. I'm still trying to look for a throne room, or something, but I keep encountering weird rooms like this that just don't seem to fit the layout right. I'm looking for a dream character of any sort of significance, at this point, since I haven't really seen anybody.

There's another screen with someone behind it... I look around for a person. I'm actually looking around for what my dreamscape would consider to be the "leader" of this place, but instead, a woman who looks like a nanny appears. I don't know what small children she'd be minding, I assumed the ones of the head of the castle. At the time, I assumed there would be some, but now that I think about it there don't seem to be any. I think they might be around, but I don't see any. I should have talked to her, and asked what was up, but I didn't. I have an irritating tendency to stay silent during these dreams.

I can't get the DC I want to appear. I wake up.

The castle is cool, though. Once I've been to a dream-location, it seems like it can be a little easier getting there again (cottage is still hard, though). I wish I had spent more time examining individual parts of the fortress, rather than just pressing onward. If I end up there again, I probably will.

3. She Can Help Me

by , 05-29-2014 at 05:09 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Driving around town to post flyers at different shops, I realize that it is a lot easier with a car than on a bicycle. I notice the front windshield is cracked all the way down, and should be fixed, but I am prioritizing fixing the engine if anything on this old clunker car. I look at the different shops around, a liquor store, a liquor accessory store, and a sandwich shop that's not quite opened yet. I go in the sandwich shop and get the owner's attention. Asking about leaving some there, he says I can leave just 1. So I do just that, and walk out the door. All the other shops are closed because it's too early in the morning.

Driving down the road with my friend, it's very snowy now. I tell her I want to go somewhere, but don't tell her where. I get stuck at the bottom of a hill in front of the house I grew up in. In 3rd gear, the tires just spin. I downshift to 2nd, drop the RPMs a bit, and do better, but still not enough traction. A couple cars drive past us easily.

We get out of the car and climb up the side of the road, but it is also too slippery to walk. We just fall and slide back down. I try again, and am more gentle with my motions, and stick my fingers into the snow for more of a hold, and climb up successfully. I point out some bushes under the snow she can grab onto. We get to the top and sit down to rest.

Sitting right on the ground, I realize how cold my fingers and toes are. Having had frost bite a few years back, they get colder easier, and it wasn't a good idea to stick them right into the snow like that. I tell my friend "This is why I don't do stuff like this anymore" as I shake my hands to indicate they're really cold. She tells me I need a girlfriend to help me warm up. I think she's right. I remember my good friend from school lives right about here. I point off to the right where a house stands a few hundred feet down a long driveway and say, "That's her house"

We're now in a car, with another friend from school, and he asks me if she's my girlfriend. I tell him, "No, but I like her. I'm not sure what will happen between us though." He asks me, "How long have you known her?"
"Since going to school"
He pauses to think... "So ,bout 3 years then?"
I don't answer, but think there were 3 years of college, plus 4 of high school, and a few more after college, so more than 8.

We drive past a cool fun looking part of the forest next to the road, and suddenly I'm outside, walking in it. Admiring the cool trees, and space between the forest growth, I walk alongside the road. It looks even cooler above a ridge. I climb up a steep hill to go there, but once I see it, it is just a regular forest, and the part I'm already on is prettier. I hold onto a few branches as I make my way down the steep part. A couple of them break when I grab them, making it a risky descent. I reach a point where there are only a few trees to hold onto, then it is too steep to walk. The trees are good sized, but I test them before committing to their support. Each one of them breaks loose from its base and falls down the hill. Happy that I didn't go for it before testing them, I notice my room mate who I hadn't seen before behind me.
"I don't know about this man, I'm turning back" he tells me, and walks away. I follow him, it is an easy route. Once I am low enough near the road, I turn around, and take a safer path alongside the road this time.

I stumble into my dad's house, with a girl I really like accompanying me. We go upstairs toward my room. She goes into my room right as I notice my younger brothers and sisters are home. They run up to greet me. I give them all hugs and we talk a bit. The youngest tells me, "I didn't think you were coming home so soon!"
"I didn't know I was either - It's good to see you!" I see my dad and step mom, and greet them too, getting a sort of cold response from my step mom, but I forget about it.

Remembering the girl I was with, I want to spend more time with her, so I invite her outside to help me mow the lawn. It seems like a strange request, but I don't really intend to mow the lawn, I just want to get her outside.

Suddenly, I'm outside, but with my other room mate. He asks me about mowing the lawn. I tell him, "just a little path" and point to a path that is already mowed. I grab a hand powered mechanical mower and start pushing it. He grabs the electric mower and asks me if it would be better. I tell him, "It would be, but I'm just doing this little area here, so I'm just gonna use the old school push mower." I push it along the path, and it churns up dried cut grass, cutting a bit of the new growth as I go.

Now, the girl is with me, but it's winter. I feel like once we get away from the house things will be better somehow. I have her follow me, but it is a long journey. We are outside already, but under the porch. At the edge of the porch, we climb down a fence, then go under a stairway with a low overhead, and reach another climbing part. I try to make sure I'm not out-climbing her, unsure of her skill. She is keeping up just fine.

...woken up by my room mate, the power went out, he wanted to make sure I wasn't late for work. I have the night off.
4. Regina's Cathedral and Apple's Car - AP?

by , 05-25-2014 at 04:47 PM
The dream began with something incredibly strange and ineffable, mainly because the memory is so faint it's hardly there. I have this vague recollection of a feeling of pleasure, beautiful moment of some kind, perhaps the feeling I was searching for earlier in the night of my soul leaving my body (I was attempting an OBE). Worth writing down for future memory's sake.

I was at the gym at the college by my house running around the track. A co-worker told me to slow down. I did, and it felt great. I raced a friend at one point, then stopped and talked to another guy. He lent me a couple video games, a strange version of Guitar Hero and another. When I tried to play them at my home, on my computer, they wouldn't work. Guitar Hero required a birth certificate. So I went on a drive and stopped for a long time at an intersection. I might have smoked a bowl, I dunno. I journeyed forth down the road. I live on top of a hill, so I came to the dead end and found a large cathedral, a cemetery and other stone-wrought creations.

This is when the dream took a turn. I got out of my car, and there was Regina Spektor! One of my favorite artists, her voice is angelic and her musicality unparalleled. I followed her into the cathedral and we adventured a bit, making small talk. I asked, how long have you lived here? She told me she had just moved to this side of town, but she had always lived in my city. I was surprisingly cool, calm and dispassionate, likely because I was ignoring the warning bells ringing that told me this was a dream. We got back into my car, she was driving now, and she drove back down the road to my house. She needed to borrow pants, I think hers were cold and wet, as it was snowy. It hadn't been snowy before.. I tell her to let me off at my house, it's where the snowmen are. There was a large, sad looking snowman right out front. I walked inside and told my parents, Regina is here. My mom goes outside to talk to her, there's an intense, watchful man inside, perhaps a hobo, who my parents had taken in.I considered making hot cocoa, but that would take too long.

I woke, slept, dreamed, forgot, woke, slept, dreamed, forgot. Next dream I remember, there was a car wreck near my house that people were running to. I was curious, so I decided to get on my bike. Then I decided, nah, I'll just buy a car. So I bought a car online, from Apple, for $2400. It was remote controlled, because I wasn't in it (dream logic, I was definitely with the car the whole time, but it was a third person view). I couldn't find the accident, so I drove to a theme park. I was not on the roads, my car was small, like a Smart Car, and it could hop up and down. I got past some people in my way and voyaged about. There were various levels and missions I was completing, though really I kept trying to use its GPS to get back to the wreck. At one point, I talked to a boy and said, don't be like me! I spontaneously bought this car, it was a bad idea, I'm too broke to buy a car! I picked someone up, escort mission status. A large lady, she kept us safe from attacking wolves later on whenever they jumped on the car. I used the car to climb up a small mountain that had steps. We went into a city. Cars kept wrecking into me, and my car was taking severe damage, at one point catching fire. Cops came, but didn't arrest me. What a waste of a couple grand!
5. Looking for my car with my girlfriend/boyfriend? And I have a husband?

by , 03-21-2014 at 12:29 PM
03/21/14

6:30 am non-lucid

I had a dream that I couldn't find where I parked my car. I was at a school of some sort, though I'm not sure if it was my high school, university or a mix of the two. This is because at one point my high school classmates were in the dream. But I was me, from present day, and they were older too. The dream landscape is similar to the one from my dream about the high school reunion. Different from my past dreams about high school and different from my dreams about my university.

I was looking for my car with my girlfriend (no girlfriend in waking life). Or, boyfriend? At some point she became a girl. And I think at one point, she became my close friend from the dream about the farm. Despite having a girlfriend in the dream, I also had a husband (my husband from waking life). Someone once questioned (or I questioned myself), "What about my husband," and I replied that I'm still dating my husband too, like I haven't chosen between them yet. I've had dreams like this before in the past too. In which I have to choose between my husband and boyfriend/girlfriend, but haven't yet.

The path we go down to get to the car is snowy, and there are various snow filled parking lots around it. Some too filled with snow to park in.

Dream
Nightmare
False Awakening
Notes

Last night was strange. I think I had a false awakening and was close to lucidity before that. I had plenty of dreams but the important one was early in the night.

I was standing on train tracks in a snowy area. There was a train stopped on the tracks to mi right. At first, I thought I was seeing myself in third person but I discovered it was a clone or something of me. He had camera equipment and was yelling "It's not gonna happen!" to a group of people. I knew they were getting ready to film me while I was lucid. I realized this but didn't think it was true because my clone kept saying "you're awake! Look!" My view changed and I was staying at the TV in my GF's room, laying in bed. The vision was cloudy and the TV was off. I then re-appeared in my 'dream'. I did a reality check: Looked at my hands. At first, it was difficult but I managed to do it. My hands looked stockier and bigger than usual and were a dark color, as if they were burned or scorched. I kept looking at my hands but my clone kept saying "You can't do it, you're already awake! You're thinking this!" I was still looking at my hands when the world around me started shaking uncontrollably until I woke up.

In my next dream, I was in my room looking down at my rat, Juanita. She was out of her cage, under my chair. I noticed something red in her left eye and when she turned her face, her eye had been torn off. She was oozing blood and I suspected one of the other rats did it. I yelled something and ended up waking up, agitated.

Dream 1: I was in a train station waiting for someone to go on a trip. I keep waiting and waiting but nobody comes so I try to call mom. I see mom and I ask her where the person is. She says that the person should be here already. I tell her it's not here and she grabs my hand and drags me into a little garden. I see there a man without his arms and mom tells me he's a relative. He does the split and mom laughs while saying to me : "That was his position when he beat up that nurse because she wanted to kill him" and then a train drives over him and he still laughs. I get on a tube(blue color) and I stay there. The man says that I need to walk away because that's a water tube. I said : I just stayed there because It's so hot outside and that tube is cold. Then my sister jumps on it and it breaks. The relative gets angry and yells at her. Mom runs fast and repairs it. Suddenly, a snow storm comes and everybody flies away except me and my sister. My sister runs somewhere and I stay there yelling for help. I see a guy with a red hat and he says he will help me but then he runs. I try to move and I find this kid who is like 3 years old. She is really scared and yells and I run to her and pick her up saying : Don't worry, we'll get through this. I lose her and I start looking for her but all I find is another girl who looks like 5 years old(She had blonde hair and green eyes). I grab her hand and we try to walk. I see a fireplace and I tell to this old man if he can let us stay there for a night because it's really cold and we can't see. He says yes so I jump the fence and we sit near the fireplace. It's really hot there and there's no snow. I talk to the girl and she says she got lost from her parents and I tell her that we'll find her parents no matter what. I look over the fence and there's no snow so I'm really happy and I tell the girl that we can go now. We jump over the fence and I see my sister. I run to her and hug her. There's my classmate that comes from the back yelling : ALINA!!! and he jumps on her and we fall. Kris comes and he says that we really need to go a building and he points at it. I say okay and we all go into the building. We play some game and then I get into this hall that has lots of doors and walls in the middle of it and all kind of things. I run but Kris grabs my shirt and he says that the game is over. I run to this other hall. I see some the snsd member and I say that they're really pretty but they're so small(height). I get to this room and there are some papers. I look at them and there are only math problems.
Dream 2 : Something about my grandmother. She wanted me to bring her all kind of stuff.
Dream 3 : I was in my classroom and I was playing on my phone.
Dream 4 : I'm with mom and dad on a street. Mom sees an ambulance and she tells us to run because they will kill us.

There's a man coming down from his room to breakfast at an inn, somewhere expensive and in the mountains, there's snow visible outside, the place looks like a ski lodge. The woman he checked in with is sitting at a table, and he's surprised to see that she's still here, he half expected her to have left during the night. He goes and sits down with her, starts talking with her, but he's distracted, noticing that the innkeeper and his husband are watching them, not being at all subtle about it. This woman is someone in the public eye, and she's married or engaged to someone else, and the innkeeper looked a little scandalized when they checked in together last night.

He says to the woman now, "That... Well, it wasn't an accident. And will you just leave?" By 'that', he's referring to something that happened between them at dinner last night that made it clear he wants her - but it's something small, like a touch on the cheek or the leg; they aren't having an affair, despite the impression they've been giving people. He stands up and as he leaves he gives her this sort of very slight bow, and says "Sleep tight, Sonja."

9. Mountain climbing, parasites and escape routes

by , 01-16-2014 at 10:11 PM
Started out based on the Mulan musical that played in Tokyo a few years back, but the storyline started following the general, who no longer looks anything like the actress who played him, and now the dream has lost any theatre aspect. Now the general is the emperor's son, and has a name which translates to "divine," and has been summoned before the emperor. The emperor is blind, and from his eye sockets there are two strange things - flat, rectangular, worm-like things, something parasitic or symbiotic. Each has a small, white circle with a mark in the shape of ᛣ, and the general is aware that those marks can open and extend something that latches onto eyeballs and rips them from their sockets, he's seen it done before. The dream had been in 3rd person ever since I lost track of the theatre framing, but as I examined the things I shift to 1st person, the pov of the general, who is disgusted and afraid of the things.

When his father dismisses him, he indicates that he should leave through a door beside the throne instead of the way he came. It's a small opening, extremely low to the ground, so that a man would have to crawl to get through it; it's designed to shame people, to stress rank and obedience. The general gets down on his knees before it, then hesitates and says "Father" - at which the emperor lurches forward, placing the parasite-things close to the general's face. It's not a threat, just an attempt to get a 'look' at him using the parasite's senses, which 'taste' the air, but it's an inhuman-looking motion, and the general drops whatever he was going to say in favor of getting away as quickly as possible. But he/I have a difficult time moving through the door as quickly as I'd like, and I realize it's because I'm becoming aware of my body lying motionless in bed.

(Woke up. Back to sleep.)

I'm leading some team climbing a mountain covered in snow, explorers, the first to climb this mountain in history. But the men keep seeing something, some shadow figure, and insist there's someone already here. I dismiss this as nonsense. But now that the peak itself is in sight, I can clearly see there's somebody up there.

(Woke up. Back to sleep.)

For the past few dream scenes, I've been in a car with my IRL sister S. and two women, a couple, witches; and we've been lost. We were lost on the road, we were lost driving through water, we were lost and mistakenly in the wrong house, we were lost and running from that house's owner, and now we're lost and we've stumbled across a street where every house seems to be having a party, spilling out into the street, blocking our way. They invite us to join the party, and while I want to just get back to the road, the others want to stay. I spot someone in the crowd, some minor celebrity, and I'm intrigued enough to agree, we check out the party. I talk to the minor celebrity briefly and find him disappointing.

Later, inside one of the houses where the party's going on, not much liking the company and wanting to get a move on, I've been cornered by some guy who's much taller and larger than I am and who seems to have mistaken me for a woman. He asks me if I believe in promises, and starts hinting very strongly that he believes we knew each other in a past life and are destined to be together. Yikes. I manage to shake him off and go find my sister in the kitchen, tell her that it's time we leave; the witch couple we were driving with join us and say "Um, we should go. Now." The lady of the house is in the kitchen with us and at this point she probably thinks we stole the silver, but we get out of there - through a window that opens onto the porch on the side of the house, rather than going back through that party to get to the door. As we're climbing out the window, one of the witches says something explaining to me and my sister why we've got to leave in such a hurry, something involving some guy who'd introduced himself as 'Psych', and I suspect it's that same creep.

Out on the porch, one of the witches looks behind us and gets a horrified look on her face. My sister asks what it is, and the other witch says oh, she just saw Ben - her ex, who's dead - don't look, just go, get off the porch, now. The porch is narrow enough that we have to go single file, I'm the last, and as each one gets off the porch and onto the street and looks back, they look increasingly horrified - Ben's a minor nuisance, their expressions indicate Ben was just a symptom of something more going on here. I feel something strange on my back, at the base of my spine, and my motions seem too slow; I become aware that it's because I'm waking up.

10. Bleached Blonde with Trivial Demands & I Have to Take the Alternative Way to Heaven

Bleached Blonde Female Demands That She's At Least 2 Year Older Than Her Partner (DILD)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I'm shirtless and I'm wearing long black pantaloons with some dark brown boots I believe. The environment is snowy and very cold to the point where I literally start shivering after being more aware about it.

I'm not really having full control of my body, I'm just speculating from a distance of my dream body walking with someone. The girl in front of me that's walking backwards in front of me while I'm walking forward looks familiar.

Her visage fluctuates between a realistic face and an anime face that's similar to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex's female character faces. It's smooth, fairly big dark blue eyes, and long bleached blonde hair. She's wearing a dark green jacket and I believe is wearing a skirt of some kind.

The first set of colors that come up as I'm recalling this is some kind of checkered red and black skirt that only goes all the way down to the mid-region of her thighs. But other occurrences with being with this female involved her wearing a light milky blue skirt that extends more to her knees.

Apparently she claims she prefers being in a relationship where she's two years older than the partner. For some reason I stopped a bit to do some kind of calculation despite not knowing when her birthday is. I visualized words of the months passing by and fading away in the environment up to the sky. A noticeable number was "15," and then I decided to stop it altogether since I didn't seem to be getting anywhere with this.

After standing around there passively for a while, the female is really close to my face and resorts to the anime style visage before turning her back at me and conforming to the realistic human face.

Spoiler for Contingency note so I can remember which blonde in waking life she resembled:

Except her hair is tied up into a ball, and she's even skinnier than before. It's almost as if I was interacting with her younger form, maybe 3-5 years younger as of the year of this dream journal entry. After that, it seemed she started to fade away like a regular dream character that seems to just exist to fill the cold and empty environment with some activity.

The buildings themselves had a dark violet overlay on them, which felt like a weird combination with the color of the snowy environment. Other than various cool colors, something about this dream felt really weird, I just can't put my finger on it.

I Have to Take the Other Route to Heaven (Non-lucid)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Oh, this dream....and the fact that I just happened to watch a 3d animation video on some skeleton trying to get to heaven after it...

Anyway, since I didn't really care much for the content of this dream (i.e. making it into a chronological pattern), I'll just give a brief list on things I recalled:

• The environment resembled Meltokio from the Tales series (specifically Tales of Symphonia)

• There were all sorts of religious, angelical, and other symbolism and archetypes within this dream.
• There was a large white cloud that served as a barrier from me getting to the other side of the city. If I were to get near it, a random cartoon entity that seemed to have resembled the image of God said I would have to take an alternative to get to Heaven.

I think I'll take the mode of belief with the casual atheist and impartial agnostic route for this dream like an older friend and I seem to garner a predisposition to, thank you very much.

• Dream characters seemed to have emulated the art style for Tales of Symphonia 1, and I recall seeing someone wear a Pope-related costume. The large semi-oval hat with a pointy tip at the top consisted of a dark blue color with some gold-colored markings.

His robes were mostly a milky butterscotch color with an overlay of pasty milky brown...as if I can really give actual color names...

• This area felt so real to me, but I wasn't lucid for very long seeing how I reveled more into this dream emulating me actually going out on an adventure similar to the Tales series.
• It's just one of those dreams that would make one contemplate if they were to switch their perception of reality and make the new one their quotidian lifestyle instead.

• The same God-related entity gave me a thumbs up and a wink with his left eye when he was telling me I would have to find an alternative way to heaven. And he wasn't even a three-dimensional entity, just your basic 2d entity that somehow made some fade transition that was slapped on the screen I was looking over in a bird's eye view.

Jeeze, could the higher self bird's eye view implications be a bit more prevalent here?

That's all I recall, at least in the spectrum of trying to cohesively make a chronological pattern here. The rest would've been environment descriptions, which would be another mini-novel by itself.

In the instant the dream started, I was thrown into a cold, Christmas-themed area. I had an objective - to steal a prized possesion within the walls of what seemed to be a store of sorts.

I walked across ice, feeling a small chill whip around the area. I make my way inside, where it is much warmer.

People flooded the space, which made this mission a bit more complicated. I made my way through the crowds, heading west of the entrance.

Swimming out of the ocean of people, I make my way over to a small section of the store - it connected the room I needed to get to, and the one leading to the entrance. There were many dressers, cabinets, and even a small section for books. Looking around, I saw only a couple of people within the room, and started to go to the objective when something caught my eye.

A young woman walked into the room, along with ehr daughter, just as I was about to leave. She seemed fime, but something didn't look right on her face. It seemed to be twisted and possessed, as if it belonged to a demon. She merely smiled at me, and I smiled back. Must be the watchdog, I thought. If she didn't know that I could see her real face, I'd be okay.

I helped her daughter pick out a book from a bookshelf, and made my way to the next room. This room bolged out forward, fitted with curved windows. I could see the snow and ice outside. The entire room shone an ocean blue, and was filled with artifacts.

I made my way to a small table placed at the center. It shone with a gold hue, bright and beautiful. It was a jar, coated with aged bronze. I lifted it up, surprised at how light it was, and pocketed the artifact.

Making my way out, I reached into my pocket, ready to call my affiliate that the mission was completed. However, when I reached in there, I felt nothing. The phone was gone.

I ran back inside, only to be assaulted with darkness, and woke into the world.

Dream 1(fragments):

I was searching for something in a forest.

Dream 2(fragments):

I was in some 'virtuality' place with green grid-like theme and glowy walls and stationary lasers, i had to do some mission and fight some drone-like things.

Dream 3(fragments):

I was playing some hack and slash game and was doing combos with a sword and then in chat i was discussing with someone some difficult aerial combos.

Dream 4:

I was playing some RTS and there was snowy map. I've had a base near allied base and had a selection of various units to build, which were very obviously team colored. Massive waves of enemies started appearing but we managed to overpower them with our units, then i've found long way towards their base which was diagonally along the map, close to it we got attacked by a number of enemies and after the battle we only had a few units left in attack force. Then we used some units that were super effective against enemies and attacked their base and won.
Then i switched to warcraft 3 and there was weird custom map. It was cinematic about some japanese village near lake, some villages walking and then panicing seeing enemies in the distance and then talking to samurai in the village, which says that he will defend the village.

Before going to bed, I practiced MILD -- I noticed that the color red is a recurring theme, especially when it is on a person, like clothing or hair color -- and practiced making that a cue. As you'll see, I dropped the ball.

Dream one had me in a Baldur's Gate-esque world, but the "graphics" are updated to at least 2010 standards, a la Dragon's Age -- which, by the way, I'd throw gobs of money at an updated Baldur's Gate. Anyways, my party and I are settling into a wooden house in the city, and we are turning in for the night. The house we are in had two rooms (which I never saw) to the left and right of the entrance in the "main" room, which sinks a foot lower and features a hearth in the middle middle (so it actually has a bit of a Warring States-era Japanese design). Straight across the entrance is a ladder that leads up to a loft area (which I'll get into detail later).

Our party seems to be pretty big, as Dream Knowledge tells me that others in our group have settled into other houses nearby, and that I'm sharing a house, hostel style. Of note, two of the people I'm teamed with are a married couple in their late 20's-early 30's, and they are both pleasant spellcasters wearing robes. The wife is in a red robe with green trims (missed MILD cue alert), while the husband is in a navy robe with yellow trim. I think the husband resembles a classmate as well from middle school, who I want to say is K, that I never really was friends with, but hey, whatever you say, Dream Logic. It also appears that the town/city we are in is a little bit hostile, because there was an exchange where we are strategically planning how we should assign rooms (i.e. if we are ambushed in the middle of the night, where should we sleep so we are best prepared), and I say something like "don't worry, I'll sleep anywhere and decide what class I'll be based on that."

I'm now suddenly climbing up the stairs to the loft -- I'm staying there, apparently. The loft area is surprisingly modern looking, including working electrical lights and a sliding-pane window. There is also a private bathroom in the corner. It's also a little messy, with a ton of clothes hanging on hangers all around the wall, and some piles of clothes strewn here and there. There's a giant bed in the middle (bigger than a King-sized bed) that takes up 75% of the available space, and there are some heavy-looking covers. In short, I would absolutely live in a place like this in real life.

I also notice an adorable kitten in the loft, so I reach down to pet it. It's an orange calico kitten, and is really affectionate and playful. After playing with it a little, it lays on its back for me to rub its tummy. It's a trap. The second I do, the kitten snaps like a bear trap to love-bite/claw my forearm. I find it even more adorable at how cat-like this cat is, and after freeing my arm, I call out to the others to come see. I demonstrate by placing my hand on the kitten's tummy again, who reacts exactly like I expected. It's visibly trying to gnaw my arm (and it's soooo cute while it does), but it's just so small and tiny that it barely managed to draw blood (Red blood on my arm. Missed MILD cue alert).

It still "hurt" though, so let that be a lesson: Cats are pure evil, no matter how cute they are.

ANYWAYS, the scene changes, and now I'm alone in another house in the same town. I'm in the kitchen area, because there's a modern looking stove and fridge to my left. There's a small wooden table and two chairs against the wall, and the entrance is in the wall to my right. Straight across, by the fridge, is another doorway to a darkened room, and I emerge from what appears to be the storage/stable. It's dawn, and I'm aware that I'm in red plate armor (missed MILD cue alert), and my weapon of choice is a grey-white claymore. I'm pretty happy with my gear. I'm also alert, and as expected, I'm ambushed by assassins posing as villagers. I dispose of the first attacker, who is dressed like a villager from Might and Magic VI. I think I cleaved her, but she "disappears" with no blood, like I'm in a PG-13 movie. Another attacker runs in from the side, and I turn around and backhand him. Bloodless murder is the most morally-cleanest murder.

At this point, I get agitated at all these assassins and yell out "I know what's going on. Just show yourselves." To which, maybe 8-9 people dressed as villagers meekly come out. I pan, "What am I, Abraham Lincoln?" (lol at my own brain). It's at this point that Dream Knowledge reveals that these villagers need my help. The dream fades at this point.

Dream two posits me at my high school during an assembly in the gym. The dance club(?) is putting on a swing dance routine. For whatever reason, I think something like, "I can do the Charleston," and just like that, I'm suddenly part of the dance routine. I wasn't sure what the Charleston is before I Googled it, by the way; but apparently I'm rocking whatever swing routine my dream calls the Charleston on the dance floor. The "dance" evolved into a 50's rockabilly concert, and I'm now dressed like the band during the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. I'm also playing a red Epiphone Riviera (which I theorize I was able to identify so vividly because it's an actual guitar I have. Also, missed MILD cue alert) on a pretty modern looking stage. Everyone is doing the Twist. The dream fades.

The dream picks up again with a snow theme. The following happens, but I lost track of the order of which came first:
-I'm outside in the snow (pretty sizable amounts -- the snow blankets the field), and Garfield (from the comics) is laying down in the snow next to a snowman (snowcat?) of himself. He's saying/thought bubbling/captioning something like "perfection is the origin of stress." I don't know if those are wise words or dream gibberish.

-I'm upstairs in a room (it resembles a room in my brother's house, actually), overlooking the driveway. I'm worried that the snow is going to make it hard for my mom to drive, even though she hasn't driven in years. But when I look out the window, I see that the roads are cleared up, and there's only about half-a-foot of snow (a snowplow is seen leaving my vision frame). The driveway isn't cleared yet, but I see tire tracks on it, which leads me to believe that the roads are accessible.

I wake up, and I was really expecting it to be snowing in real life.

14. Snow, Snow, Snow

by , 11-13-2013 at 06:18 PM
Lots of dreaming about snow.

In my first dream, there was a blonde woman driving a red convertible around. I think that there was also a movie being filmed... I don't recall, I think it was like one of those B horror flicks. The landscape was super snowy, and it was up in the mountains.
Anyway, she ran into a unicorn. It was gray, with a kind of bronze colored horn. There were some Bad Guys (pretty one-dimensional, they looked like mobster thugs) that wanted to kill the unicorn.
Somehow, the movie was concluded, and the blonde woman started driving around. She drove up onto an outcropping, like a huge ice cliff that jutted overhead, extremely high up... the view I had was from way below, all I could see was a plume of snow kicked up by the car wheels. Then she drove over the side of the cliff (somehow part of the Bad Guys' plan?), but instead of crashing, the car was suspended in the air by a spider-web-like strand of ice.

I then dreamed I was working on an art project. Somehow I hadn't been told about part of my homework. I needed to turn it in TODAY. I was inking my work and crying and arguing with the teacher that I'd joined the class later than everyone else, and it wasn't fair because I hadn't been told about the homework, and I ought to get more time.

Now it's Christmas. There is a Christmas tree full of hamsters that are dressed as unicorns. They have tiny stuffed unicorn horns on their heads that flop around a little bit.

Next, I am drawing Sonic the Hedgehog fanart for N, a friend of mine who loves Sonic the Hedgehog. It's hilarious because the fanart I drew a) Mocked terrible Sonic the Hedgehog fanart, and b) Is something I actually drew in real life. N thinks that my fanart is hilarious. I decide that if the teacher is going to be an asshole, I'm going to turn in terrible fanart as part of my homework, so she has to suffer through looking at it. I am now standing next to the ice cliff that the woman drove off of. I dig out handfuls of snow and eat them.
15. Nursing Home

by , 11-07-2013 at 08:37 PM
1. I dream I am working at a nursing home. I take care of an old lady, and take her to a doctor appointment, but forget to actually take her in to see the doctor. I send her off (to somewhere) and then remember that the doctor hasn't actually seen her, and start worrying that even though she is healthy she may have health problems that aren't so obvious... but there's no way to fix it without getting in a lot of trouble.

2. One of my less comfortable OBEs. I partially woke up, but my body was still 'paralyzed' and I was half asleep. I tried to settle down and catch onto a dreamlet or something. That isn't working and I'm not entirely lucid, so I try to sit up out of my body. My body "sticks" to me like it's glue, so I try to roll over out of it. I feel like I am tipping and sinking backwards into the bed. I am in the "wind tunnel". I start to panic, and after a lot of flailing around and struggling, I lapse back into unawareness.

3. I dream that there is a huge snowstorm and the whole city has shut down. The city I live in is one I've never seen before in my life. I go outside and start trying to shovel snow with everybody else.

4. I dream I am in a castle. I am moving through room after room. The floor has diamond floor tiles in various brown colors. I can get on top of the walls and run along them, and jump down into other rooms. As I am crossing a hallway, I see a mirror. Mirrors always make me lucid - I approach it, see my reflection, and 'push' into lucidity. Unfortunately, I'm sleeping too lightly, and it wakes me up (not a false awakening).

I grumble and roll over. A few minutes pass. Someone lightly knocks on my door, twice. I ignore it because if my brother is trying to wake me up on the morning I have a day off work, he's being a jerk.

Someone knocks on my door again, a little louder, twice.
I say "what?" but there's no answer. I get up and open my door, but nobody is there. I hear someone in the kitchen. I go into the kitchen and ask my roommate, "Did you knock on my door?"
She says, "No, I wouldn't do that."
My brother is asleep... my other roommate isn't home. My roommate verified that she was, in fact, making breakfast, and that I did ask her if she knocked on my door. Even though it was a hypnopompic hallucination, it still sounded very real, and was pretty creepy.

Review:
Last night was semi-productive, I guess. I'm having more lucids, but the quality has gone down. I don't think it's because I'm getting "worse" at lucid dreaming, so much as I am having a lot more lucid dreams lately and the quality will slowly improve again.

When I say OBE, I don't really mean that I believe it's an actual out of body experience. I mean that it's a specific kind of lucid dream I have where it feels like I am rising/rolling/whatever out of my body, and either end up in the void or end up in a facsimile of my bedroom, while my "body" remains in bed. I don't believe anything paranormal is going on, it's just a really specific kind of dream with a really specific feeling... and a specific set of challenges that I still haven't overcome.

Clues I was dreaming:
- I don't work in a nursing home
- We don't have blizzards where I live
- I don't generally wander around castles
