    1. Scary,Creepy, Weird, Island Escape ...ya

      by , 03-14-2012 at 08:30 PM
      Dream I had last night

So I'm on this island and apparently have been on it for some time. It's me and my family and some others. I don't really remember how we got there, i think it was because a shipwreck or something but that doesn't matter, what does is the fact we can't get off the island. There are about 30 people total ans we have mad a little village. So some creepy stuff starts happening. It was nighttime through most the first part of my dream so it's dark. I start hearing noises coming from the jungle on the island that surrounds own village. (By the way the "village" houses are RVs) So I'm looking around and start seeing Darkness moving around in the corner of my eyes. I Start freaking out and go inside the largest building which is a makeshift house(the only one it look like it would be on a island). Anyway stuff goes down and people start going crazy and i have know idea whats going on other than the fact the people on the island are becoming zombie like(Not dead, just insane trying to kill others) So me and my sister along with some of her friends, for some reason I'm like 12 and my sister is 17 and her friends are around her age so I'm being treated like a defenseless little kid. (In reality I'm 17 and my sister is 20)
We are running around trying to get away from all the crazy people. We come to the conclusion that the darkness thing is mind controlling them or something along those lines and we later figure out it can only do that if you are in a enclosed area or a small space (Small being the size of a small RV which most the people on the island are living in) So as long as you don't go inside you won't get your mind stolen. Only problem with that all the already crazy people are outside trying to kill you. We run down to the beach and for the first time there are Jet skis lined up there so we each take one and ride out on to the water.
I get left behind quite always and this giant boat looking thing comes between me and the others. I somehow manage to jump through this hole in the side of it to the other side. On the other side my jet ski lands on concrete and i find myself in the parking lot of Walmart. I get off my jet ski and look all around. I'm now in a completely different setting. Before I can really grasp that around my understanding my sister grabs my are and says we have to get out of there. I notice her friends are still there motioning for us too hurry. Then I notice something else. Everyone is dress in normal closes but for some reason I'm in a one piece bathing suit. So I'm like WTF why? I end up stealing some cloths.
We somehow end up in a hotel just hiding out. Apparently the darkness thing from the island is following us and we have to keep moving to stay ahead of it. I don't really know whats going on at this point but we make it to my house and it all starts to fuzzy from there. I do remember we climb into a boat that is on a trailer attached to my grandpa's truck. He says he is going to take us somewhere save. I remember talking to my sister
Me: So why we in this boat and not in the truck?
Sister:Because we have to stay in a open area so the darkness can't get us.
      Me: oh....
      Sister:......
      Me:.......huh
      Sister:What?
Me: Well if that's why we are back here then whats to keep the Darkness from getting grandpa...who is in the truck... driving...
      Sister:....
      Both:
About that time the truck, thus the trailer with us in the boat, start going all over the road. Everyone in the boat are all screaming and freaking all then suddenly I went completely weightless as the truck, trailer and boat all flipped.

      And then i woke up.

      The end

It's been quite some time since my last DJ post.
I'll try to be more active on DV again, and I'll probably post some of the dreams I had during my absence.

Random music for no good reason:

The day before this dream I had surgery on my foot.
Nothing serious, but I still needed a massive bandage and pain meds for the healing process.
This made it rather uncomfortable to sleep, and sure enough, after just ~6 hours of sleep I woke up.

The pain wasn't bad as long as I didn't move... however that's exactly what I wanted to do.
I must have slept in an awkward position because my left leg (where I've gotten surgery on) was very tired.
I didn't want to move though, because I knew it would hurt.
The pain meds were on my desk where I left them, out of reach without getting up.

I just wanted to go back to sleep, but it just didn't seem to work.
The strain on my left leg kept me awake, just barely... I kept drifting in and out of consciousness.
This was coupled with random thoughts that didn't make much sense.

I kept trying though, and after some time, in a brief moment of clarity, I noticed that I was feeling vibrations all over my body.
I knew this feeling all too well, because it happens quite often when I attempt to WILD.
I haven't done that in a while, but for some reason I thought that because of this I could now transition into a dream.
      (I wasn't really thinking clearly)

I try to levitate out of bed as a means to separate my dream body from my physical body.
At this point I can clearly feel the existence of both.
It seems like the stronger the vibrations, the less I feel my physical body.
Attempting to levitate seems safer to do, because I don't run the risk of moving my physical body.

I slowly start to drift upwards.
There is no more gravity and the blanket is gone.
I land on my bed and start rubbing my hands in fear of loosing the dream.
It is only then that I realize that I've just cheated my way into sleeping... sort of... well not really, but I'm asleep, that's all that counts.
I check my foot and it's all normal. No bandages, nothing.

It's rather dark. I was hoping rubbing my hands would fix this, but it didn't.
I flick the light switch in my room, but nothing happens.
Meh, would have been too easy.
Afraid to see myself in bed I leave by jumping out of the window.
(Seeing myself makes me uncomfortable and has woken me up in the past.)

I land softly and walk into the street in the hopes of the dream being lit up by the streetlights.
      But it doesn't help.
I don't want to wake up, I want to stay asleep as long as possible.
This is why I'm afraid to try spinning, or use other techniques to change the scene... if I fail I could wake up.

      I rub my hands again.
      "Oh come-on, work already!"
      It doesn't.

I try to make it rain with my mind, thinking it won't work because the dream is unstable. (dark)
But for some reason it does.
I feel the rain drops on my skin, and as the feeling becomes more intense, the dream finally becomes properly lit.

(Rain has been an amazing tool to keep my dreams stable in the past. The constant feeling of raindrops keeps my senses focused in the dream)

I decide to slowly walk through the street and see if I find something interesting.
I'm too afraid to attempt to teleport somewhere else. If I mess it up and wake up there's no way I'll be able to fall back asleep.

Suddenly, I realize that I have changed location.
I am now in Germany, in front of a friends house.
      How did that happen?

My friend C. comes out of the house.
      "Can't sleep either huh?"

It's weird hearing him speak perfect English. We talk German with each-other in waking life.

"What are you talking about? You're not making any sense, this is a dream."

He looks confused but shrugs it off.

"I have to show you something, follow me."

I follow him into his room where he points at his tv.
There's a newscast... something about another dimension merging with our's.
It's rather confusing. It quickly becomes apparent that it's about the dream plane though.
It is merging with the waking world.

This confuses the hell out of me, I'm fully aware I'm dreaming, but the whole situation is built around being awake.
Then I spot Faye on the couch. She makes me a sign to stay quiet, not to tell that I know about the dream plane.

"Can you believe this? This is so weird! Do you have any idea what this is?"
"Ehhh, haha, yeah... it is weird, isn't it?"

Probably the most unconvincing thing I've said in my entire life.
I wonder why Faye wants me to stay quiet about this...

... I am now at the location where the tv broadcast is occurring.
It's in some sort of park, I don't think I know this place.
There's some sort of spatial disturbance in the air, and I can see spirits from the dream plane trying to cross over.
It's a rather surreal experience. (at this point I actually believe that this is really happening.)
I try to spot Yuya on the other side in the hopes that she can cross over but I can't find her.

My friend is there again, rambling a bunch of nonsense... that we're all going to die among other things.

Spirits are now crossing over and materialize on our side. Some politicians have appeared and are greeting them,
and welcoming them into our world.
Other people are protesting the situation, waving signs with the word "Spirit" crossed out.

      "HEY!"
      "Faye!... What?"
      "Snap out of it!"

The scene freezes, except for Faye and myself.
She grabs my hand and drags me away.

I realize that I drifted out of lucidity.

"I thought you were trying to stay asleep, what the hell are you doing?"
"Err... yeah. I nearly lost it there."
      " "nearly" huh? "

We arrive at some sort of cafe and we stop at a table.
Faye looks like she's about to scold me.

"I know, I know... constant awareness."
      "That's right."
"But it's difficult right now, I have an injury in the other life."
      "Excuses!"
      "Maybe..."

A waiter brings us a coffee and Faye hands it to me.

      "Drink! This will help."

I drink the coffee and it feels like the caffeine rushes directly into my head.
I am now thinking clearly and my vision is perfectly fine even though it's still night.

I walk down the street with Faye and we talk about a few things.
She's trying to keep me asleep.
After some time I realize a minor oddity.

"So... technically I'm talking to myself right now eh?"
"I've told you before, it's quite a bit more complicated than that."
"That's quite an understatement. I know you've tried to explain it before, but I still don't really get it."
"You have a good idea, that's enough."
"But I want to know more."
"You don't understand every detail of the universe either, yet it doesn't prevent you from living in it just fine."
"It doesn't prevent me from trying to understand every last detail of it either."

      She smiles.

The street abruptly ends. There's nothing but darkness behind it.
I turn around. Darkness is catching up with us, there's maybe another 10 meters of street left.

      "End of the line Hyu."
"Aww, I don't want to wake up."
"It's alright, you've been asleep for a long time, it's nearly time to get up anyways."

That makes me feel a lot better.

      "Bye bye, Hyunkell-san"
I reply in a funny way:
      "Goodbye, dreamguide-o-saaan"

She sticks her tongue out in a cute way and laughs.

I wake up. It's been over 7 hours since I went to bed, so I decide to get up.
To my surprise, moving my foot doesn't hurt nearly as a bad as I thought it would.
    3. 2nd Lucid Dream Feb 13, 2012

      by , 02-14-2012 at 09:43 PM
I am in a classroom on a bed listening to a class discussion about historical figures, in English class. The people in the class are acting normal for the most part. The area I am in is a cubic room, very bright, and with a light design all around of a flowery decor. I go to the bed in the class and at first think of going to my dream journal, which isn't there. This is my first sign that I may be in a dream, so I plug my nose and instantly realize that I'm in a dream at this moment due to the breath I am still able to take through my nose. Suddenly my body is lifted up and I feel and hear the shock of electricity and thunder through and within my body. The dream is now very blurry and I feel sick (maybe because I have a cold in real life). I try to keep calm this time because I don't want the dream to end quickly like last time. I find this very difficult. I look around the room and it's the same room as before, but the people are now gone. I look and see instead the imprints of shadows sitting around me, I hear a faint static and thunder all around me, with these shadows only barely in my sight. I decide to do the spin around technique to try to add some clarity to the images around me. I felt indecisive over whether I wanted to change locations or just make the dream clearer. So the class becomes a bit clearer and brighter but only for a moment, then I am back in darkness. At this point the only light is a blue almost ethereal light as though the lightning is spinning around the room, engulfing it. I stumble towards the exit of the room. The door at the exit of this cubic room is a metallic dark green door with a bronze handle, it's size is rather normal. As I reach for the handle I hear a loud echo in the darkness reverberate through my body with a clear easily understood message. "Not everything is as it appears", the message brings another thunderous boom of static through my body. As I look out of the room, I see a corridor, almost as dark as the room I was previously in. I am now both very excited and incredibly scared at what I may see in this corridor, especially after the message that nearly shattered me. As I look around the desolate corridor, my focus is fading. I don't see anything frightening, but the message and feelings of electricity were definitely enough...I wake up, half paralyzed, with my heart pounding in a flurry. Still a very cool experience
    4. I Finally Remember: Dream Entry 1 - Slithering Snake

      by , 02-12-2012 at 05:12 PM
I remember being in my room, and it was dark. If course, it was night outside and the only light was coming from my tv, and my dad was watching tv in the living room. Out of nowhere a snake starting slithering toward me, and I screamed. I think it was a corn snake from the size and color. I ran out the room where my dog and dad were. He was asking me what happened and I was jumping away from the snake at every which way but it kept getting under me, dancing around at my feet. I'm not usually scared of snakes, but this one particularly terrified me. I have no Idea why. I yelled at my dad to kill it, but instead, he dug a pencil- or was it a small knife- through my dog. He died, and the snake disapeared. I fell to my knees in shock, and then began crying, sobbing, yelling at my dad. And then I woke up. My dogs still alive
    5. Basement

      by , 02-05-2012 at 09:24 PM
I totally forgot to write this down >< so I remember some parts, but not all.

I was with a woman in a dark room, I'm not sure why but I associate her somehow with Adiane from Gurren Lagann. She was evil and testing me somehow. She told me to sing a certain song, I think it was a hardcore song, and I was trying as hard as I could to remember how it went or how it started, but I couldn't quite grasp it. Finally, after thinking for a couple minutes, I told her I couldn't remember it. She told me that would 'make [me] lose one point', and that was really bad for some reason, so I started trying to remember it again.

Later, I was in what appeared to be a large, dimly lit basement, with many patches that were completely dark. The walls were unfinished concrete, there was lots of exposed wood and there wasn't much in it. I was hiding behind a furnace or something where it was quite dark, and there was an old man walking around to see if there was anyone down there. I think he was connected with the woman because he was also evil and the environment was similar. He was just about to go up the stairs when I got scared and came out. He said something along the lines of, "oh! Good thing you came out, anyone who doesn't would be in a lot of trouble." I was glad I'd come out, but still scared. That's all I can remember.

    6. A rather epic FA leads to a flash of lucidity

      DJ Log: February 2, 2012 – 11:15PM (USA Eastern)
      NON-DREAMNOTESDREAMLUCID

I am clicking around the 'net and almost fall asleep in my chair. I decide that I should hop in bed and take a quick nap. The time is ~9:45pm. I lay down and fall asleep very quickly.

I awaken from a minimalistic dream, standing in darkness. I realize that I had just awakened, but I must still have my eyes closed because I cannot see anything at all. Knowing this, I decide to make an attempt at DEILD. I concentrate on keeping my eyes closed and then I try to remember where I was just a moment ago. I remember that I was laying in my bed, trying to remember what the dream was about. I cannot recall even the smallest detail, other than I was just dreaming.

Suddenly, I make the realization that I am not laying in my bed, but I am standing. Before I can gather myself together and stabilize, I wake up.

I try hard to immediately settle down, but my eyes are wide open and I am too alert and excited to re-enter the dream state, much less return to sleep right away.
    7. This Is How I Wake Up Every Night: Screaming

by , 01-20-2012 at 10:52 PM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Last night's recall... Meh, at least I took notes. Still not much stuff. Let's go back to the past again - it's always funny to notice how your dreams haven't really changed that much and finding connecting themes between your current and three years ago dreamed dreams. Still, I'm so tired that I'm going to do a super short one.

      Voice in the Darkness
      Date: August 28th, 2009
      Lucid: No

I was going outside. It was a winter night and it was very dark outside. Weird that the seasons are so often not consistent in dreams - I mean that this was dreamed in August, yet it was the darkest time of the winter in the dream.

Only light-source outside was the light that came from the inside. As the door closed before me, darkness engulfed me. I was alone in the darkness. I felt distressed. Voice from the dark said: "Well well, Jakro came out." It had an evil tone and I got terrified.

Something grabbed me and started dragging me away. I started screaming as hard as I can, hoping that someone would hear me and come to help. The voice just told me to shut up. I still didn't see anything.

My own screams woke me up in the bed. I wrote to my dream journal that "I had planned to try a FILD if I wake up in the night, but I was too terrified to do it."

Simple, yet intense dream. I had some serious emotional problems back then. Well, I guess I still have.
    8. Killing My Mom - A Lucid Nightmare

by , 01-14-2012 at 12:52 AM (Jakro Goes Hardcore Into LDs)
Same old story with the recall, only fragments. I guess being biphasic at the moment is capping the limit of my recall. I'm staying asleep so short times that proper long dreams can't form. According to my Zeo Sleep Monitor my longest REM-periods happen a little bit after five hours, so it's no wonder that I'm not reaching my best with 3-4 hours at a time. I'll still keep this up, we'll see if it improves once I get more used to it.

In the meanwhile let's check back to one fucked up dream I had a while back. One that proves that being lucid and having a nightmare are not exclusive.

      Killing My Mom
      Date: July 27th, 2009
      Lucid: Yes
      Method: DILD

I don't remember what triggered the lucidity, but after confirming it with reality check I was semi-excited. I had read bunch of stuff back then about grounding the lucidity using touch, so I tried licking a screw that I found. I didn't notice any change in the quality of the dream.

Next I tried to put the living room's light's on as the dream seemed a bit dark. Obviously the lights wouldn't work. I called out my mom to put them on. I mean surely the dream character would manage to put them on? I don't remember what we exactly said to each other, but she didn't do it in the end. So I did the next best alternative. I started fucking smashing the lamps into pieces. I guess I am more random when lucid than normally in dreams. Surprisingly that was such a strong stimulation that it strengthened the dream. I think it also got brighter, ironically.

My mom got upset about the broken lamps though. This sent the dream into a downward spiral. Her negative emotions (that were actually mine, since this is my dream after all), made me angrier and I started venting it on the furniture, as I knew it was a dream. I don't usually smash the TV like I did then when I'm mad. No, really, I don't do that shit. So anyway mom started screaming at me for such behavior and I didn't want to hear that shit.

I went to my brother's room. There's a big window there. I jumped through the glass to get out. Yeah, I sure like destruction. Why take the door, when you can smash yourself through two layers of glass? I ran to the woods next to our house to get away. The atmosphere of the dream had turned into really dark and depressing. I was frightened and conscious of it. I knew that I had to get rid of the fear because I knew that it would affect the dream. Besides, what's there to fear, I knew it was a dream after all!

I tried joking around with my mom. I said to her that she is surprisingly agile for such considering how big she is (she is overweight). I guess that's not the best joke to say someone to calm him down in reality, but as it amused me and my mom was just a manifestation of my mind, that could have worked. But it didn't.

Confrontation was inevitable. The fight was short and I killed my mom with a simple hit on the head. I was relieved, but still thought how fucked up that whole thing was. Relief was only temporary though, as my sis came after me next and she wasn't happy. I was like "you gotta be kidding me?" Do I have to kill my family members one by one in a lucid? That's some fucked up shit right there. I tried to convince her to calm down, but I said the last words aloud in my bed, as I had woken up. Thank Lord.
    9. up from the depths

      by , 01-10-2012 at 01:46 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

A voice saying, "Up from the depths." A view of a woman in some kind of white robes and head covering, carrying something and walking up a dark stairwell, up toward a lit doorway.
    10. news of innocence; dress; helping michael collins; dark room

      by , 11-30-2011 at 02:12 PM
      Good morning, everybody.

      Dream #1

I sat in some huge room. I sat in a school desk, which was part of some U-shaped area of either desks or tables, maybe made out of wood. Other than this structure, the room was empty.

The room had orange-tan colored walls, which were as tall as the walls of a cathedral. Along the top of the wall ran some kind of LED display, like an electronic ticker tape display that scrolls out news.

The sign was saying that somebody, possibly Sir Isaac Newton, had confessed his guilt regarding something. This was something like a murder, or a rather contemporary, scandalous-sounding crime.

Previously I'd been accused of this crime. Now that Sir Isaac Newton had confessed, I would no longer be considered guilty.

A woman came up to the desk where I was sitting. She may have stood me up to lead me away. I may have been working at something on a computer. I may have been a little reluctant to leave the work.

      Dream #2

In an almost completely dark room, there was a girl, maybe eleven or twelve years old, standing in an orange-peach colored dress. The dress was in the eighteenth century style, with the outer layer in a sheer kind of material. The girl may have had her back left leg lifted behind her, as if she were performing a ballet step.

      Dream #3

I was in a dark space, almost like a small corridor on a large airplane or in a space station. I walked toward a dimly lit area near the "front" of this corridor.

The astronaut Michael Collins was in the lit space, working at a small box of machinery. Collins looked young, and he may have been wearing a NASA jumpsuit.

I may have worked with Collins. I figured I was going to help him with whatever he was doing right now.

      Dream #4

I was alone in a bedroom. The room was kind of big and it had high walls. But it felt like a college dorm room, not a bedroom. There may have been a regular bed and at least one bunk bed.

Suddenly the lights went out in the room. There was a tiny bit of light in the room, giving everything a very faint, very dim blue tint.

I felt my way around in the room, waving my arms in front of me -- although I may actually have been doing this before the lights went out. I was frantically trying to turn the lights back on, either with the power of my own mind or by finding the light switch. But I couldn't do it.

I told myself not to panic. I went to the door. Even though I was kind of disappointed with myself for being so afraid that I wanted to leave the room, I was going to leave. I couldn't think of how to get the light on, and I couldn't stand being in darkness.

But when I got to the front door, I was also afraid. I felt like there were people out in the hallway (like the hallway of a college dorm hall) waiting to attack me.

I looked through the peephole on my door. Outside I saw, leaning against the wall opposite the hall from my door, a young, blonde woman, pale skinned, very pretty, dressed in blue jeans and a black, turtleneck sweater. She leaned against the wall with her hands joined and placed behind her.

(Note: I've been using being alone in an empty room as a dream-sign, hopefully to induce lucids. I noticed that many of my lucids have occurred when I was alone in a room. So I've had quite a few "alone in a room" dreams -- and I've still failed. Ugh.)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Fog encases the night, as I float there, hovering just above the street. Lights, headlamps, stream in from either side, a slow procession of ghastly vehicles, barely visible in chill, dry air.

      I'm fading.

“Interesting, aren't they?” A voice speaks out in the dark, calling me back to the dream.

Tensing, I turn to see a mass of formless darkness, floating just beside me. An enemy, I conclude.

“Relax,” it says, “It's not like you can do anything to me, anyways.”

      Is that. . . a grin. . ? Definitely a grin.

      “Watch me.”

I cut away from myself, manipulating my most basic thought, the structure of the dream, calling, summoning. . . creating death. The manifestation of my intent appears, taking the form of a reaper, scythe and all.

“Ha, you can't kill me,” it says almost jovially as the reaper's scythe cuts down and I throw in the final touches, the final pattern, instantly wiping the mass of darkness, and whatever sentience it held, into non-existence. . .

He never knew what hit him.

    13. Drunk Dream

      by , 10-05-2011 at 12:39 PM
I was in a a party which was taking place in a large room which resembled the kitchen of my friend's house where we party in real life. The dream was fairly dark and dimly lit. In this dream I was also very drunk.

There was a small cupboard with two compartments in the corner of the room where I was sat. For some reason I sat in the cupboard for a while. There was a bottle of alcohol in there which I drank. There were also some snakes and some toad-like creatures. They looked like Toads but they had sharp little beaks - almost like a turtle. The snakes and Toads were hunting one another. My friend, Fred, who was there, found them extremely interesting.

When I was back in the main room I noticed that an old friend, Aiden, was sat just along from the cupboard. As I walked past, he threw something at me and I threatened him as a response. I sat down near him and noticed there were stacks of playing cards. I was shuffling through some. There were Legend of Zelda themed one's in there also. Aiden picked up some and threw them, one at a time, against the wall. They stuck in a sort of colarge way.

I got up and walked around a bit. At this point I could feel myself sobering up. Someone who I thought was my partner came into the room and I asked her if there was any more alcohol. But it turned out to be someone I didn't know. My partner came in for real after that.

Back in the main room, there was a guy asking where his alcohol, that he had hidden in the cupboard, had gone. I sat down and kept quiet. Then another friend, Eddie, asked the guy if he wanted some of his Toffee-Cider instead. I turned to Eddie and asked if I could have some.
    14. Animal Garden

      by , 09-12-2011 at 10:52 AM
This dream was set in what I think was supposed to be my grandparent's old garden of their old house. The lay-out was generally the same. I entered from the backdoor on the far right of the garden. In front of the door I saw the path leading left around a mounted flower bed. The path lead to stairs which, in turn, lead to the rest of the garden.

In the dream it was the middle of the night. The only other person there was my friend Fred. He was over by the stairs whereas I didn't move much from the backdoor. There were no other people. There were only animals. A lot of animals. The garden was literally packed with them. On the mounted flower bed before me were what could only be described as giant rabbits.

The rabbits were by far the biggest of the animals. There were also lots of flying creatures such as bats and a lot of insects. Nearer Fred, along with the giant rabbits, were a lot rat-sized creatures which I don't think exist in the real world. They reminded me of scorpions but without the stinger or pincers. They looked to be mammals by the looks of them.

Fred and I spoke about how it was weird that in the day, this garden is completely void of animals but at night it's literally packed! Fred reached out and stroked a giant rabbit, which to my surprise, started growling at him like a dog.
    15. The Dirt Road

      by , 09-12-2011 at 10:39 AM
It was the middle of the night. I was standing on a long dirt road with high bushes either side. It was very brightly lit on the dirt road but it was so dark that you could see nothing beyond the bushes. My grandparents were picking me up in their car and giving me a lift somewhere. When they arrived, they were not their jolly selves. Something was wrong but I can't remember what it was.
