1. The Facility

by , 11-19-2013 at 10:42 PM (HunterX's Dream Journal)
(Had a brief nap this afternoon to make up for lost sleep and had this dream. It was remarkably well-formed compared to my usual napping dreams.)

The dream begins with a short fragment involving a room similar to my current university accommodation, which is connected to some form of multi-level arena in a black environment. It is possible the whole thing is a video game of some sort. This quickly ends and shifts to the dream proper.

I am visiting some form of day-care/community centre that I have apparently been attending regularly ever since I was a young child as part of my extra-curricular activities. Unlike all of the previous times I have visited, I am promptly called aside and informed that there was a hidden agenda to the centre the whole time.

It turns out that all of the activities in the centre have in fact been a form of training, and the centre is a facility at which they train secret agents and arm them with technology that can produce almost paranormal effects and abilities. As we tour the underground areas of the facility I am told that all of the uninformed subjects are periodically given tests in which they are exposed to shocking or otherwise psychological scenarios to measure their reaction, after which they are given an amnesiac which wipes their memory of the incident. Taking all of this remarkably calmly, I state the logical conclusion that I have also undergone these tests and don't remember them. I am then shown a tape of who I assume to be a very young version of myself being shown a video of some sort (though I wasn't able to identify the content of the video). In the tape I appeared disturbed by what I was watching, but was able to make it through the whole thing. I inquire as to why the amnesiac is used, to which the researcher explains that the psychological evaluation is based on the assumption that the subject is experiencing the scenario for the first time, not knowing the content nor the existence of the test itself in advance, to allow for comparing changes as the subject ages. I then proceed to perform what I assume to be some form of agility test in which I carry a tray of items down the hallway we just walked through without dropping them.

The dream shifts and I am sitting with several people who I assume are other subjects who have been informed of the situation next to a large blast door similar to the ones in the corridor I was walking through in the last scene (it may be the same location, but I am not certain). The other subjects are laughing at a form they discovered - it appears to be some form of alias sheet in which an agent can design a new identity for upcoming missions, but it has been filled out with a rather childish description of some kind of monkey-themed superhero, possibly by one of the younger subjects. I point out to the other subjects that despite the author not being present he may be in another 'instance' of the same room (for this scene it is as if we are in an online game in which only some of the users are present in any particular instance - I think I also catch a glimpse of a list of online users partway through), and briefly contemplate to myself whether or not the author in the other instance would be able to observe the sheet of paper floating around as the other subjects hold it.

The dream shifts again and I encounter another subject who has been turned into a child as a prank by way of a body-altering edible substance the facility has developed. They are visibly put off by this, but to my knowledge the effect can be reversed. After a short scene shift I enter a gym in which another subject promptly explains to me that the child had been an arrogant jock and he wanted to get back at him somehow. He also explains that he used the substance on himself to give himself a more athletic body as some form of poetic justice. He makes a comment to me as he leaves (which I am no longer able to remember) and I respond in the affirmative, before promptly eating some of the substance myself that I had been carrying around (it taking the form of a pinch of sugar-tasting grains that I had been carrying on a spoon) for an unclear reason - it is possible I had been intending to use it on him but changed my mind, or that I ate it to hide it, but neither is certain. I change, but I wake up before I am able to accurately observe what I look like.

Partway through the dream I had a dream fragment in which I was walking through an airport or train station of some kind while on a family trip, though I am unable to place it chronologically within the dream.

2. Travel Buddy

by , 11-18-2013 at 09:37 PM
Successful teleportation with closed eyes... my first of these! Great new skill to have. (This was the third of three lucid dreams from this morning.)

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #165: Travel Buddy

The sister of a good friend has been kidnapped and I’ve gone on a mission to rescue her. (False memory: no waking life friend, no sister) She’s being held in a place that looks like a mental hospital. I’m hazy on how we get to this point, but she’s hurt or disabled, and I wind up carrying her slung over my shoulder, pursued by a handful of guys in suits. The hallway we’re in dead-ends at a locked door, but I crash through it.

Now I'm running along a metal walkway around the outside of the building which ends at a railing. I'm fifty feet up and trapped. There’s another walkway I could jump to but it feels hugely risky to do this while carrying another person. I’m wondering what to do when I realize that
the whole thing is a dream.

The whole scene goes quiet -- the pursuers are gone and my companion is now standing on the walkway beside me. I realize that she isn’t my friend’s sister or in fact anyone I know at all. My reaction to this is to think Awesome! and begin randomly making out with her for a moment. After just a bit of this she sort of loses interest and wanders away, quickly disappearing. I gaze down at the street below and as I try to look closely at what’s down there, I unintentionally teleport to street level.

I find myself standing in a vacant lot. From the sidewalk, a very attractive woman with a pixie haircut is calmly watching me. I’m still feeling a little amorous so I hurry quickly over to her. “Hi!” she says. “What did you want to say to me?”

I feel a little sheepish because it feels obvious that she already knows. “I was looking for sex.”

“Okay,” she says. “I could do that if you want. But before you decide what to ask for, you need to know that I can help you do anything you want me to.” She really emphasizes this last part.

Even though she doesn’t say it outright, I get the sense that I get only one chance to make a choice. “Can you help me get to the Great Barrier Reef?” I ask, referring to Task of the Year.

“Yes!” she says. “I can help you with anything! We have to take an airplane to get to Australia.” She hurries down the sidewalk and I follow her. Day quickly turns to night as we approach a squat, black building that looks a bit like a dingy train station.

She explains that, “There’s no direct flight to Australia from this airport so we’ll have to stop at <some name> airport.” The place doesn't really look like an airport, but I believe what she's saying.

“Can’t I just teleport to the other airport?” I ask. (For some reason, teleporting right to the Great Barrier Reef does not occur to me.)

“Go ahead! Try it now, it’ll work!” she says, rather excitedly. I feel incredibly encouraged by this. I close my eyes, imagine the other airport, open them again, and now I’m inside a huge room in a new airport! There’s a big flight departure board covered with lots of illegible information about the flights going through this airport.

She’s standing nearby grinning and she says something congratulatory and mentions that we need to catch our flight. I assume that I can just teleport to the next location, though, and I immediately close my eyes again. I get a sudden little jolt of fear that I’ll mess up somehow. In particular I fear that I'll open my real eyes, so I kind of lose my nerve. The room goes into this half-haze, she disappears, and I feel like I’m losing the dream.

I paw at the scenery nearby and after a bit the scene comes back. Unfortunately my travel buddy seems to be gone for good. I wander around a bit more, walking through a bathroom and mentally writing something on the wall. I find this interesting at first but start feeling a little frustrated when the letters and words won’t stay the same.

I roam the airport a bit longer, but eventually the dream fades.

3. 30 Sep: Seeing the patterns

by , 09-30-2013 at 08:28 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

I'm at some airport, but not a conventional one, either it's interplanetary or interdimensional. I was with some girl friends, but I loose them in the crowd. I end up in the restauration area and from there I walk out into an open area that I recognize from another dream I had some day. There's a stage and a girl is rehearsing for a concert later on. I keep walking up a dirt road because nature looks alien: there's a tree with raspberries the size of big apples and the soil looks like a creamy chocolate cake. As I watch the trees, their roots and branches and the river to my left, I notice patterns overlapping. The branches of a certain tree fit precisely against certain stars in the sky.
A guy appears behind me and says "Can you see the patterns, repeated and interconnected?".
"Yes, but if I move to a new position, I stop seeing this overlapping pattern, so it's just coincidental."
"Look again, you'll just see new patterns emerging. No matter what angle you look at things, you will always find repeating and overlapping patterns, just different ones, infinite numbers."

As we keep walking, I know I am dreaming, but it requires no reality check to confirm it or stabilize it. It holds very naturally and very clear. I actually feel that I can stay there forever. I realize how much I could learn if I decide to stay. I am decided to stay and unravel all the secrets of all the universes.
But then I wonder what will happen to the girl body I have left sleeping on a bed... Will "I" enter a coma? Sleep for the rest of "my life"? What about my family and loved ones? I don't worry that I'll miss them, I worry that they'll suffer not understanding what is happening to "me". I feel obliged to come back. (Damn!)
But for now I keep walking with this guy and he takes me to a really nice hostel in the mountain. My room faces a terrace over the river, that connects to other rooms. All is well on this peaceful place, I'm just contemplating nature, when a couple of men in black come out of another room, dragging my friend. When I approach to ask what they're doing, they tell me to go away or they'll take me to. One of them has some kind of weapon that points at me and I wake up.

4. Donkey Kong Junior

by , 07-29-2013 at 10:39 PM
Very well-meaning but flawed attempt at the North America Task of the Year. (The King Kong one!)

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #128: Donkey Kong Junior

I falsely believe that I have a young niece named Emily that's arriving by plane. I'm waiting with Dad in the airport for her and all of the passengers have gotten out with no sign of Emily at all. I'm becoming fretful. Dad isn't very worried and is loudly telling me stories about how thoroughly the new cereal he is eating "cleaned out his colon". I'm very embarrassed by how loudly he's talking and decide I'd rather go look for Emily.

It's like the old days when you could meet someone at the gate, and I'm allowed to stroll right through the jetway and onto the plane. I walk up and down the rows of seats, but there's no sign of her. But when I double back I find her waiting by a bend in the jetway. She's about 11 or 12, short, blonde, a little pale. I realize that I have never seen her before in my life and
become lucid.

There's one of those little doors that leads out to the runway, and I walk through it and start flying toward a city that I see on the horizon. Night either falls quickly or I suffer some kind of memory gap here, because I land at a parking lot in a cluster of buildings. There's some sort of party going on with loud music bleeding out into the parking lot. There are a lot of people milling around in the parking lot itself, and some of them start following me.

I spot my friend "RF" as part of the nearby group and I tell him to "check this out" as I approach one of the parked cars. I decide that the car is as light as an inflatable balloon, lift it, and turn it over on its side.

RF looks stunned and asks me how I did that. I tell him that you just pretend something is the way that you want and you usually find that it is. I become sort of boastful and start showing off. "Look at this car. If I decide that it tastes like cake, it will." I take a huge bite out of one of the tires and it's pretty good! Tastes like a fairly decent birthday cake. Several other people in the crowd join in, taking bites out of the car here and there. I spot my high school friend "Alf" in the crowd, and he makes some remark about how cool this is. Pretty soon, a huge crowd of DCs has surrounded the car and started to devour it. It's cool to watch them consume the car but also vaguely disturbing. Reminds me a bit of a Walking Dead zombie feed.

RF and I walk away from the car along the sidewalk, reaching a building with the mural of a skyscraper painted on it. I suddenly remember the North America "Empire State Building" Task of the Year. The mural doesn't look quite like the Empire State Building, but I decide that I'm going to start climbing it and then turn it into the Empire State Building as I go. I tell RF this is for "Task of the Year" and he says "Go for it." I latch myself to the mural like Spider-Man and start climbing up the wall. It feels really forced at first, but the more I get into it, the more it feels like I'm scaling the side of a tall building.

And now here I am, clinging to the side of the Empire State Building, the wind pulling at my clothes and body. I'm trying to remember what the Task of the Year even involves.
(I'm supposed to transform into King Kong, climb to the top, and fight with the military.) I feel a little frustrated with my memory, so I decide that I want to get inside and think about what I'm supposed to be doing. I either enter an open window or phase through a closed one, winding up in a small, quiet marble elevator lobby.

There's an elevator waiting here, and I step inside. It only goes up to "9", and I wince that this is not nearly high enough for the Empire State Building. I press "9", assuming that there will be a new bank of elevators I can take at that point which will bring me all the way up. The elevator begins its ascent and I pace nervously, worrying that I'm buying too much into the mechanics of the dream. I can't remember whether I'm supposed to be ascending normally, climbing the building, or what, so I just go with it.

The elevator doors open on "9" and I step out into a lobby that looks much like the previous one. There's a bulky, square-jawed maintenance man in overalls here. "Hey!" he shouts. "You're not supposed to be here!" With that, he winds up like a baseball pitcher and throws a large crescent wrench right at my head. It clonks straight into my forehead and drops into my right hand. My forehead tingles a bit, but there's no serious pain.

Somehow I now have a wrench in both hands. I feel angry with the guy for attacking me. "You're an asshole!" I inform him and throw both wrenches at his stomach. They bounce off of his torso and he doubles over, glaring at me but not seriously hurt. I feel a little bad and have no interest in going to war with this guy, so I dash into another elevator, stab at a button without looking, "knowing" that it leads to the viewing platform.

Again I wait, and soon the elevator opens up to an open-air room that looks a bit like a bell tower. There's a guy in a lab coat here explaining some scientific breakthrough about lycanthropy and animal transformations in general. I run past him along a plank to a balcony. Now I want to transform into King Kong. I look to my left and there's another skyscraper, even taller than the "Empire State Building" that I'm standing on. On top of this other building stands the cheesiest-looking Godzilla-style lizard monster I've ever seen, and I can't help but chuckle. Looks like all the movie monsters are out and about today.

I start hopping about like a gorilla and imagine myself transforming into King Kong. In my craziness, I manage to leap off of the building. Rather than a fall, there's an odd transition and now I'm just running along a tree-lined street below, roaring like a gorilla and pounding my chest. The chest-pounding feels a little phony but the gorilla roars are amazing. My hands and arms look big and gorilla-like, but I'm not nearly large or hairy enough to be King Kong. I feel more like a big, strong, long-armed dude with a gorilla roar.

Some DCs rush up to attack me, but they're all just regular men in casual street clothes. I shove them away, remembering that I need to get attacked somehow and win, but I'm very confused as to the details. I take a few swats at these DCs and amusingly, they go flying off whenever I hit them. I know that something's off with all of this, though, and that I need to be a lot bigger, I need to be up on top of the building, and I think I need to fight something tougher. The details are really hazy, though, so I just lumber around for a while longer amusing myself until
the dream ends.
5. Oneironaut Zero Saves Me, Kicking Ass and Taking Names [DILD]

Oneironaut Zero Saves Me (DILD)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Listened to a self-hypnosis recording I did with my voice and decided to continue not using WBTB, managed to get a decent lucid. Without even trying, SWEET!!!

Recall is okay, just the normal if I were to actually do a WBTB and have a decent sleeping schedule. It will only get better when I get more into making more audio hypnosis scripts and/or saying them to myself before sleeping at night. I managed to get my tonality and emotion-pouring down with the scripts, which makes the imagination that much easier. Might even make a longer hypnosis script for myself where I'll make a recording and save it for some other purposes.

Imagine being in an underground base where the dominant colors are mostly shades of blue and turquoise. The dream itself repeated some aspects for some odd reason, and it was mostly me checking if the person Oneironaut Zero killed stayed dead. But let's not worry about that right now.

All I can remember as I'm shifting back and forth with third person, first person, and just spectating what's going on over what seemed like watching a movie, I started harboring extreme sensations with adrenaline and fear.

My recall for this has a lot of patches, seeing how there were so many areas I must've traveled in a short span of time. Most of the double doors were electronic and open, and it seems every time I enter some area, I would see to my right side a wired fence shaped into a cube protecting random electronic objects. Like bases or power generators of some sort, and with how things were going, it seemed the building we're in has some kind of invasion of weird creatures, machines, and such occurring.

It seemed I was pretty lucky, not having to deal with all of that, yet. Throughout the dream, I felt sensations occurring within my head, neck, and back region. It was a sort of fuzzing and vibrating feeling, it didn't hurt, but it wasn't something I would want to tolerate for too long. It almost as if my senses were just elevated because of the rush and adrenaline surging through my dream body, that it was a matter of life and death, and all that mattered was getting out before I end up dead.

And as I'm running and dodging without looking back, as if all that was needed was for me to sustain the narrow tunnel vision I had in this dream, Krauser shows up yet again, and his countenance is completely different from the other dreams where he seemed to only show up to scare me, but never had any ambition to kill me.

He extends his left arm, and seems to be ready to facepalm my face straight into the wall behind me, and luckily, there just happened to be someone right behind me that he ends up hitting instead of me. Either he was still trying to scare me, or he just had crappy aim. I waste no time and immediately dashed to the open double doors to the left about 10 feet away from me.

Suddenly, I find myself accidentally tripping, and it's really, really hard to get up.

Great.

JUST GREAT!

While Krauser is trying to get his hand out from the person's head he slammed against the wall, I'm still struggling to get up. I felt like this dream was going to end up being miserable until someone in a blue-black jacket comes in rapidly, and the dream character looks a lot like Oneironaut Zero who's just waiting for a good fight with Krauser.

He indirectly signals me to leave, but I'm still trying to process how he came about. Eventually, I managed to finally get up from the floor, still looking at what Oneironaut has up his sleeve to deal with the Krauser dream character coming after me. And before I managed to get past the same left door that's now to the right of me (since I braced against the wall), Oneironaut Zero goes through some mutation while Krauser does the same.

There seems to be tentacles gradually coming out of the left side of O's face, then some grows behind his back, and after that, I was too afraid to really see the full transformation from both dream characters. I wanted to help, but it seemed O can hold his own, especially since I have no chance against a fully mutated Krauser that probably would end up twice the height of the original.

Now things shift back to me watching the events as if I'm looking at a movie or something. I noticed I started to pick up the pace with running away, but not only that, feeling more agile, flexible, and even ready to do super-human jumping as well. The scene that was previously saturated with a turquoise and blue atmosphere now changes into a mustard-yellow atmosphere.

And things are getting even more hectic as I'm trying to avoid the random machines and other-worldly creatures that are just too hard for me to process their visage and composition because of how I only cared about getting out of this place alive. I still worried about whether or not O would be fine dealing with the Krauser dream character, but I guess some kind of instinct kicked it telling me he'll be just fine.

There's a long metal chain that happens to be one of the few ways to get out of this place, and I immediately jump up to grab onto it. And as I'm slowly taking my time climbing up the metal chain, there seems to be random fighting below me. I noticed Wonder Woman (the Justice League version) seems to be taking pretty hard hits from whatever entities she's fighting. She's being thrown left and right and still while recovering each time to go back fighting full force.

All of this is still occurring while I'm looking at myself and the background scene in spectator mode. It seemed the dream character of me was so fixated on climbing upwards without looking down, and the more I focused wanting to get out, the more intense the fighting is below. I can hear the slashing, clashing, and all the punching sounds along with the grunts, moans, and screaming as well.

I wondered how the hell I got myself into this dream environment, and I'm presuming I finally made it to the top and I'm hopefully free and safe from all the chaos beneath me. My train of thought, or at least me being able to visualize myself starts getting patchy again.

I start seeing a few glimpses of areas I've been before, and I take advantage of this ability to check to see if O was okay. All I saw was Krauser's dead mutated body, so I'm presuming O managed to seal the deal and get out perfectly fine. But I didn't have time to speculate and try to again some assurance that he's alright, seeing how the monsters and machines most likely are tailing me by climbing the long metal chain as well.

From this point, I don't know where in the world I'm headed, all I remember was just jumping off somewhere very high. The dream environment and setting shifts completely now, and that's probably because I forgot what happened in the middle.

That's what I get for not doing a proper WBTB.

Anyway, I'm in a different scene, and my feelings are less anxious and intense, so I'm assuming things are safe now. Imagine me now being within a large and spacious area that resembles a base for small planes and helicopters to traverse. Surrounding me about 400 feet to 2 miles are large garage type buildings, as if I'm near some miltary base.

But it doesn't feel like that, it feels more like some type of training ground for people who want to pilot flying vehicles. And I find myself noticing that I'm waiting in a short line, and I quickly shift my head to the left to see who I'm waiting in line to meet.

I noticed there's a lady that looks like she's in he 30s, she has bowl cut hairstyle that's orange-red with a slight shade of black near the front regions before stopping to the side of her face. She's wearing a classic secretary black dress shirt and skirt that's a about knee-level.

She's filling in applications and signing forms I'm presuming, and while I'm waiting for my turn, I take the time to just look around and stare into random space. I noticed how it's early morning within this dream, and I can see the sun rise up slowly to my left side. And as I turn to my right, you know how you can see the heat waves or whatever from a distances where the light gives the illusion that the objects are bending?

It was like that for a a minute, and as I'm turning left and right occasionally, I turn to my left again to find an elderly man sitting about 5-10 feet away from the same female that's busy with the people in line. He has his back faced to her on her right side (my left side), and is sitting perpendicular from her.

It seems he's waiting for something, and I begin to notice how he's holding some kind of certificate in his left hand. I didn't want to pry into the information within this certificate, but because he's holding it in a way that makes it look like eye-candy, I can't help but zoom from far away to see that he's most likely trying to get his driver's permit or something.

The man is wearing thin-framed glasses, a few jagged features sustained in his visage, and is a bit obese, maybe 250-400lbs. He's wearing a green cap with a small streak of orange, if I remember correctly, and he's just casually reading this certificate to himself, probably to kill some time.

Then he finally gets his turn, and quickly gets up to meet the secretary like female I'm waiting for as well. She declares to him the type of license this man will be getting, and she stated some things that are hard to process, jargon most likely. I believe he had to have a restriction on his license or whatever it is he's trying to get because the female stated how he had some kind of disability.

She states this a bit loud, not too loud, but just enough to make the man feel ashamed for his disability. He quickly tries to cover the topic by questioning her randomly, but it's not really working out for him. I don't really pay too much attention to is situation with her, and I'm sure the dream characters I'm behind in line didn't really care, or at least pretended they didn't hear the conversation.

You know how you wait in line for something, and there's someone somewhere at the far corner of the area you're in that shows off or does something loud that makes every avert their eyes towards them? And then when things settle down, they quickly turn back so the person doesn't feel like people are staring at them like hawks? It was kind of like that, and as the man eventually has his situation covered, it's finally my turn to speak to the lady.

I honestly don't know why I'm standing here, but it seems the lady knows I'm here for something fortunately. She tells me that O gave me a letter, and I was puzzled for a bit. She tends down while still sitting on her black rolling chair to open a drawer and hands me a letter. I quickly tear the seal and read the glanced at the content for ab it.

Then I tried to re-read it to absorb whatever content the O dream character that saved me tried to give me in this letter. The letter is folded into thirds, hot-dog position, and as I'm trying to sustain my vision and make things a bit clearer, I find it difficult to read the content.

It starts getting blurry, and no matter how hard I tried to calm down, relax, and let the word trailing shift back to their original position, I can't really string together a cohesive train of thought from this letter. I believe I decided to put this letter in my pocket by folding it the opposite way after folding it back hotdog style and gave my thanks to the secretary like dream character female.

All I can remember from the letter was that O stated he was alright and didn't really have much injury from before, but he was more concerned that I hopefully got out alive without any injuries myself.

I can't recall what happened from this point, and I guess I tried to leave because I didn't want to stall the people waiting in line behind me.

Sucks I don't know what the O dream character was trying to tell me. It seems whenever there's a message being given to me, especially letters, I always end up having to save them for later only to forget them and never really getting the chance to see them before I try to have a dream where I can find the letter again without worrying if it was going to be a false copy.

If only I recalled this dream earlier, I'd probably be able to get out a few chunks within the letter, but that's my fault.

I felt even more guilty that despite of this O counterpart being a dream character, that this entity still cared enough to risk his own life to make sure I got out safely. It's happened before with a female that takes a laser cannon shot to her chest and stomach region, and a few others I can't recall off the top of my head. I'm personally glad O was just fine and things didn't end up where someone's life is taken away, compared to the dream I had months ago where the lady that pushes me off before possibly dying from the laser shot.

Those types of dreams where someone has to take their life are always hard for me to process honestly, even if it's all just a dream.

I wanted to do much more in this lucid dream, but I guess all I really cared about was seeing how the dream plot would unfold instead of sitting around doing nothing but wondering what to do.
6. LD: Flying through Sprinklers, Using Senses

4-10-10

Lucid Dream (maybe this is several dreams):

I had gone on this trip with a group of girls. We were staying in this awful motel room that was decorated in burgandy and pink. I took out my camera and tried to take pictures but the battery was wrong. I took it out, and it wasn't the right one. I was mad because I couldn't take any more pictures on this trip.

I didn't go lucid at that point.

Later we were in an airport watching these huge jets take off. Then I was on a plane. Seems like something happened, like we almost hit a building. But I don't really remember that.

Then I was back at home in my childhood house. I was in the backyard. I don't remember what triggered lucidity. But I suddenly knew I was dreaming and flew up in the air a bit. I felt a bit unstable in the dream, so I rubbed my hands together. I realized that it had been forever since I had done this in a dream. I noticed that it really did bring me back in to the dream. I felt more physically there.

I looked over the fence into the neighbor's yard. They had their sprinklers on. I knew I wanted to go through the sprinklers. I thought that it was either a Task of the Month from the past...or something that I had decided at one point I wanted to do. So I swooped down until the water was sprinkling on me. The water felt very real.

I flew back up. I then remembered reading on of my LDs from a long time ago where I had used my five senses...and how that had made the dream way more meaningful. So I flew over to my roof and rubbed, my hand all along the brown asphalt shingles. It was satisfying to feel the roughness under my fingertips.

I then remember one of the other Tasks that I had been wanted to try for a while now was to meet a fictional character. The one that popped into my head was a character from a story that I had started writing myself a while ago. I flew back up and looked into the neighbors yard again and saw a wheelchair. I thought it was empty at first. But as I got closer I saw a child sitting in it. I wondered if this was my character as a child. He started talking to me. What he said didn't make sense. But I thougth it was cool that he was interacting with me.
7. Woodrow the Giant

Finally broke that dry spell! This was a really fun one. Emotions got the best of me at the end, but it was great while it lasted.

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #113: Woodrow the Giant

I'm in a first-person shooter video game where I'm entering an airport. One of the people I'm with slips some kind of blaster into my pocket as we're walking through airport security. Won't that set off the metal detectors? I think of all this as just a game, though, so I give it a try.

An alarm sounds, surprisingly soft but unmistakable. I keep walking, just in case they think it was someone else behind me. As I head into a broad, bustling concourse, I see a few security guys heading toward me from different directions. They're dressed in plain clothes, which makes them seem less official and more menacing. I change directions and they change with me. I know I'm caught. One guy has his hand on his right hip like he's ready to pull a gun, so I decide to be first. I pull the banana-shaped blaster out of my jacket pocket and start shooting. My first shot catches the guy right in the chest and he crumples to the floor.

I immediately realize that this isn't a video game, but a dream. I remember goals: meet Art at the Alamo and Tasks of the Month. Since this is already a video game scenario, I think that it'll be easy to pull Art in. "[NewArtemis], I know you're right there behind me." No response. By now the other security guys have drawn their guns, although they oddly have not fired yet.

I shoot one more of them and he collapses to the ground. Still, nobody returns fire. "[NewArtemis], a little help!" A woman walking nearby turns around. She's wearing jeans and has dirty blonde hair, not at all the usual hair color for Art's DC, but it's definitely her!

"Hey there!" I say, thinking that it'll be fun to have her take care of the last of these security guys. But when I look for them, they're gone -- everyone is walking through the airport concourse like nothing has happened. I turn back to Art. "You dyed your hair...?" I half-comment, half-ask.
(I sincerely doubt this.)

"Hey," she says, with a wry half-smile, ignoring the whole hair thing.

We hug and I say, "Okay, that's Basic. You feel like punching Woodrow Wilson?" (Advanced Task of the Month.)

She nods. "I'd love to punch that guy."
(We have never discussed Woodrow Wilson, so I'm likely projecting here.)

I glance around for Wilson. "Let's do it," I say to Art, and then call out to the crowd: "Woodrow Wilson! I know you're here!" We walk along the concourse for perhaps twenty feet when I spot a huge man to our left. Somehow, even with everything around him brightly lit, he's hidden in shadow. The man is at least ten feet tall, probably closer to twelve, and he's flanked by two normal-sized men who don't look like they're doing anything in particular.

"Is that you, Woodrow Wilson?" As soon as I say this, the man's face is illuminated and it's definitely Wilson -- long, expressionless face, glasses, the whole bit. Weirdly, he's dressed in the style of a Catholic priest with a cassock and clerical collar. He strides toward us quickly and moves up very close to crowd me.

Wilson doesn't attack but just stands there towering over me, no expression on his face, his eyes unfocused. I've lost some emotional control and I'm starting to feel fearful. Art circles around on my right, grimacing a little, her hands balled into fists. She can help me, but I know that for Task I know that I need to hit the guy. I try to calm myself down while imagining myself leaping up and doing some kind of superman punch. I'm freaking out a little bit, though, and
the dream falls apart.

Legend: Dream , Semi-Lucid , Lucid , Side notes.

Left 4 Dead:
I'm on the back of my farm, and i'm with my sister and maybe my dad, hard to remember. Anyway, everything is covered in snow and my sister wants to explore so i lead them into the woods. As we go into a Radio tower like building , the concept of the dream changes to L4d2
( a video game ). Before i know it, i'm in an abandoned operating room and we accidentally summon a tank ( a really big zombie ). So we run back to the starting area and complete the mission just in time by turning in a ticket of some sort.

Football:
I'm inside the garage of my house. I apparently signed up for football
(american football, and no, i would never do this irl, i hate football xD ). But either way, the team is practicing in my garage, i'm #19. I tell the coach i don't know how to play and he looks angry. Next thing i know, The team is at a track. The track has a lot of buildings around it and inside the track ring. We are practicing running. I start running and see one of my friends. I have some weird conversation with him. As i'm running, i notice i don't even have to think about it, my body is automatically running, pretty cool!.

After i run a lap, i hear a warning for a coming storm, it then starts to rain. I walk by the buildings at the track center. I look inside a place that's about to take off, i see people and wonder what they're thinking. I also look into a medical building and see a man that's about to die of a heart attack, he smiles at me, his jaw has been crushed somehow but i admire him for his ability to smile at death. I then decide to leave in a plane to, so i go into the airport but find i can't get a ticket because i have been accused of hacking security or something. I'm kicked out of the airport. So i then go outside and talk to a witch (A special infected from left 4 dead , Hmm geez, lots of left 4 dead, kinda odd ) i'm apparently dating her, but i come back with a flashlight and the light kills her and then i loot her body. ( so much for that relationship xD ).

last night bed 11:30

DR1 - 4:18am
I'm waiting in the line at the airport. Thinking they should have checked my passports already, before they check some other document. Then I see that the officer in front of me checks both. It's my turn. Another officer out of the both asks for my passport. I give it to him. He asks about an orange/blue piece of string he can see on my shoulder. I tell him it's from repairing the zipper on the pocket of my orange/blue jacket. And I also had other pockets reinforced. I know that may sound suspicious to him, and it does. Then they talk about codes on my ticket. It used to mean Budapest or Bratislava, but now it means Brussels. I guess those are the via airports.

DR 7:55am
I'm poor. Living with a poor family. We are going to look for a new place to live. It's in the basement of a school. We walk through halls full of students until we come to small, dark room, with dry leaves in the corner and on the small window that's up high, like a basement window would be.

Then we have people bringing some food items and shampoo and stuff. Sux to be poor.

Pre bed: Green tea

Total sleep time: 9 hrs

Dream quality and recall: went to bed very late, deep sleep tonight, and recall was hard. I have been trying to recall the whole first dream all day long but with little success.

Fragment1 DILD: I am looking at a male person, concentrating on top of their head. I see a second more transparent double layer shining with color, I am so aware, lucid is an understatement. I get a great sense of understanding. There is a discussion and feelings of happiness from my side. I am also talking with PennyRoyal, he is one of my good buddies in the dream. It was very vivid, but I don't have much recall. My key impressions are positive feelings, knowledge and understanding. This was my first memorable REM or Non-REM? for the night.

Fragment2: Me and somebody else are about to catch a small plane. We are in front of a very small airport, but we need to get to the other part of the airport, we are looking at a map of the area.

brief natural wake, had the idea of writing down the previous dreams but was way too tired, thought I would remember it, so went back to sleep

Fragment3: FA, I wake up in my bed, grab the tablet and start writing down the dream with Penny. My bf is near me, watching what I have typed, I stop writing, I wake up.

WBTB: I wake up, this time jot down keywords, and spend 10 mins struggling to remember more of the dream. Reviewed tasks, but had the feeling this will be it for today.

Dream4: We are in some place with my bf with a blond guy, resembling a former classmate. While he is a total stranger, but my bf doesn't mind him spending the evening with us. We talk for a long time, he is slightly arrogant. The guy decides it's time to leave so he jumps from a bridge. I watch him vanish in the air instead of falling in the water.

Fragment5: Another attempt to remember the dream with Penny, but I am trying to recall during the dream itself. This time I see a water in front of me, it is a waterfall. I think the dream with Penny might have included Angel Falls, also get some feeling of happiness, yet cannot remember more even during the dream.

Fragment6: A new thread started by Xanos

Dream7: I am with my parents in a familiar place. I have the feeling this is the second dream in that place for today. We talk about something with my mom, and I decide to go to another room. I then go out. I feel much better now, by myself, on the street, there is a fence and obviously a zoo. A lot of people are there, I join them. I see a polar bear cub, and that people are actually going beyond the fence. I want to go to where the cub is so I also cross over and am inside the section with the animals.

I look to the other side and see now a brown bear cub, it is on its back, drinking a bottle of coke. I am with a friend of mine and I tell her that the zoo keepers will think that we gave the drink to the bear and be angry with us. I try to take the bottle of coke away from the bear, but I am taking its food, it is stressed now. I am afraid of its mother, which is a much larger polar bear. We are sitting on a couch with some DCs, when the mother bear comes. I try to think of a plan to escape, without attracting her attention. I think at that point she transforms into a DC, conveys the message that she wants us to leave her territory, so I ask the DCs that we go. They get up, we are leaving, and the mother bear DC is grateful.

Comments: It's been three days in a row that I have been dreaming animals, it is high time I begin to recognize this as a dream sign! Also, upon waking up don't forget to at least count fingers or do any RC, to take advantage of those FAs.

11. The Queen Visits Austin and I Have a Lucid Roll

by , 04-04-2013 at 10:01 PM
Something about airports has always fascinated me.

The beginning details of this dream are still lost in the haze but my first memory places me outside a long building that stretches into the distance on my left side and in front of me to my right. It's perhaps 3 stories tall with lots of windows and corrugated metal walls painted white. I think this is what made me think it was an airport.

In front of me on the ground is a long run, similar to the ball return at a bowling alley, but thinner and closer to the ground. The opening of this tube/run is small, about the width of a soda can, and can expand slightly like the elastic sleeve-cuff of a jacket. For some reason this seems like a good place to stick my sandwich, though I know it may get sucked through to the other side of the building.

And it does.

I walk into the building which I know must be an airport. The ceiling is low, like a cheap office, and the ground floor isn't spacious at all. Old tiles, old walls, and some cheap potted plants reminds me of an office-scene that was already old by 1983. Still, something tells me I belong here or fit in and therefore no one will mind if I go to the other side of the building and out onto the airport tarmac.

It's noisy out here, windy, and I can see the jetways that stretch out to planes when they arrive at the gate. To my sudden surprise a large plane lands in front of me after passing quickly overhead. It's white with red engines, about the size of a 737, but it's sleek like the Concorde that used to fly over the Atlantic. I can tell it's a very powerful plane and the sleek design suggests someone wealthy owns it.

(like this but with round engines on the wings)

Like a slap to the face I realize the plane belongs to the Queen (of England) and she has decided to make a surprise visit to Austin. I can't believe my luck that I should arrive at the perfect moment and decided to get past all airport security to be where I am when she arrived. The first thing I think to do is make sure my hair is in place, though the wind prevents from being anything close to tidy.

I turned around to look back towards the doors she will use to enter the airport and I feel sudden anger that my sandwich is still missing. Even worse, the end of the run I placed my sandwich in on this side of the building is buried by junk and bags of garbage. In a near panic I run over and begin moving the bags so they will be less of an eyesore. It takes several minutes but I manage to stack all the garbage in a rather neat manner off to the side, giving the impression that the refuse was placed there on purpose in a semi-neat fashion and should just be ignored. I hope the Queen will pardon the mess.

Where the garbage had been I now find the hole in the ground. The opening stretches easily allowing me to reach in though I don't remember feeling anything. I merely recall being happy to have my sandwich back. I'm so happy I decide to show the people standing nearby (who just appeared to watch me) how easily I can do a forwards flip, a maneuver I've never done before. Being inside a dream (suddenly lucid) I suspect the move will be really easy.

I move forward slightly and drop my head, allowing my body to come over my head and upper torso. Next thing I know I've done a forward roll and I'm marveling at how easy it was to achieve. I think about other things that are easy to do in dreams and I recall some past moments but I attempt no further moves. I think I'm just glad I could do it at all and I suspect I learned it from watching my son.

And that's all I remember.
12. Gladius and Darkness

by , 01-19-2013 at 04:40 PM
This lucid was long enough that I became legitimately concerned about remembering it. This worry wound up being a bit of a downfall, but it still took me in interesting directions.

Color legend: Non-dream Dream Lucid

Lucid #57: Gladius and Darkness

I'm experiencing deja vu as I walk through an airport terminal, sure that I've dreamed of this place before. I note all of these little details that I believe my mind left out of the dream version of this place -- the color of the carpeting, the man arguing at the ticket counter, the way that the ceiling curves into a dome in this room. Then I hear the sound of hurried little footsteps. Someone tells me "E is looking for you!" (E is my oldest son.) Now I'm lucid.

I hear E shout playfully from somewhere further down the terminal: "Looking for Daaaaddy!" I know that we're playing hide and seek. I eagerly set off, loving the idea of playing like this in an LD. I move through the terminal and wind up in a series of twisting, narrow office hallways. Other children run by me, possibly engaged in their own games of hide and seek.

As I'm moving through these hallways, a little hand swipes the back of my leg and E declares, "I got Daaaaddy!" I move toward E to scoop him up but he laughs and runs in the opposite direction. I follow but almost immediately I've lost him in the hallways.

I wind up back in the airport terminal and wander through there a while longer before coming to a craft table. Wife is standing at this table wearing a smock and molding some sort of clay. I walk up to the table but she doesn't acknowledge me. I grab a piece of clay and tell her, "I'm having a lucid dream." She responds in essence that I should "show her" what that means. (I don't remember her exact words.)

As I begin molding the clay, it starts foaming and fizzing until the entire surface is covered in a layer of foam. I wipe the foam away bit by bit and underneath is a carved image of a human face. Wife looks astonished. I tell her, "I'm telling you, being lucid is the way to go."

She hands me a round piece of glass. "Make me a picture of a Christmas tree." I nod, take the glass from her, and rub my hand across it once. Instead of a Christmas tree, I produce a little stained glass picture of an eye.

Wife looks at it. "Nice. But that's not a Christmas tree. I thought you said you were having a lucid dream."

A bit baffled, I shrug and say, "I don't know what to tell you." She goes back to her crafts and I walk further along in the airport terminal. I'm loving the experience of being lucid again and I suddenly fret that I'll forget everything that's happened. I try to recall everything that's happened up to this point, but this destabilizes the scene. Everything collapses into darkness.

I remember that Xanous had talked about handling "dark scenes" by acting out some action like riding a bike or running. I want to perform a Task of the Year, so I will myself to have a gladius in my hand. (The gladius is a sword of ancient Rome.) I swing the sword back and forth in the darkness, imagining that I'm locked in a dark tunnel underneath the Colosseum. I can hear the crowd now, and I know that the gates will open any moment to let me out for my match. I'm nervous with anticipation. I try to remember whether I have to kill for this task, and think that I do.

I see a blob of light forming in the corner of my vision. I'm filled with fear and nervous tension. But just as I'm bursting with anticipation, the crowd noise dies down and the blob of light forms into a high window in the hallway of a university. My vision is badly distorted around the edges, almost as if I'm wearing a shredded contact lens.

The window is about 15 feet above me, and I float up to it to start phasing through the glass. The phasing is difficult and awkward. It feels like I'm dragging my body through thick plastic wrap. I finally make it through and then I'm flying over a park in the mid-afternoon. The dream feels thin now, and I fly only a short distance before
waking up.
13. 16th Jan 2013 Ridiculous foods, weird alley and airport placement

by , 01-16-2013 at 08:34 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
Again, don't remember the start of the dream and some details

I was in some building and there is some political stuff going on, some political people apparently preparing some foods and i and some other person have to choose the ones which will be on some festival or something. The foods are ridiculous, there are huge cakes, many foods of sorts in form of various buildings, places and stuff. And ofcourse to choose stuff we'll have to try it! It was delicious and also i was consuming one of the 'building' foods a whole at some point and hearing somebody making kirby joke of sorts.
Then i decide to go on walk somewhere, exiting building apparently brings me to the exit of the house i live in IWL, so i go to the park from there. On the way i notice some weird alley, entering it i notice alot of mongrel dogs sleeping there. I somehow know that it's time to return to the building, on the way i meet dad and we both go back to the building.
The political people have heated discussion on where to place airport, and since they can't decide on anything i have to choose the place apparently. There's some sort of holo-table which is used for choosing where to place airport, i place it somewhere. After that i was apparently congratulated by some president-looking person, everyone goes to the table and we all eat cake that looks like Empire State Building or something similar. Dream ends there.
14. Airport / Party

by , 01-13-2013 at 01:16 PM (Fennecgirl's Collection of Dreams)
I had a dream that my boyfriend and I went to the airport so he could catch his flight back home (he lives in Mexico; I live in the US). After we said goodbye and he left, I went looking for someone who could tell me when the next flights to Mexico were to have an idea of when we could get together again. Not too long after we went our separate ways, I turned around and saw him behind me. I was surprised to see him there, as his flight had already begun boarding. Surprised, I asked him why he was still here, but I woke up before he had a chance to reply.

After going back to sleep (I don't know what time it was when I woke up, but it was still dark), I had a dream that I was at a party. I saw a girl there who looked familiar; I recognized her to be Ashley (my tulpa Link's girlfriend, who has a different host). I thought that I should tell Link that Ashley was there, since he'd be happy to see her, but then I remembered that tulpae can't see other people's tulpae (somehow, it didn't occur to me that I shouldn't be able to see her, either).
15. Finally flying!

by , 01-01-2013 at 03:04 PM
Camp:
I don't exactly remember this dream all that well all I know is that I was going camping with my scout troop and we had to fill out a small packet. There were also other campers there.

Flying:

(First day of the new year and a lucid dream! THings are looking up for me!)

I was driving my Dad's car (I'm 14 in real life) and I knew that I shouldn't be, but I was just trying to get back to my house. When my dad caught me at a hotel, he said that he was very disappointed in me. When I was standing outside of the hotel with him, everything just felt weird and so I did my hand reality check and sure enough, my hand had four fingers. However, instead of doing my real task which is to transform myself, I decided to fly. Alas, at least for now, my flying would not work, I could only jump slightly higher than usual.
It's funny actually because the hotel's printed slogan on the side of the building was "Providing rest for DC's"
Anyways we went in and my flying attempts still failed. I then thought "Hey, lets just ask for one" Sadly this didn't work for now. Me and my dad walked down through and airport were we met up with my mom. My grandma was also there and when she asked if I was happy to see her I said "Not right now, I'm lucid dreaming!" Walking inside of Walmart now, we also met up with my 8 year old sister, who when I asked for a jetpack, she made one out of thin air and gave it to me. If only I was that good. I used it to fly around and kill the piggies from Angry Birds that were now flying around as well. When I had finished this, I flew down opened a bucket, and a giant veggie monster made out of grapes and the like coming out of it hypnotized snake style. After a little bit of him coming out I shut the lid back on him.
Then I woke up.
