      Game Analysis 101
      I am in school, it seems to be a game design class. Everyone is talking about some video games and comparing them. I am paying some attention, but I feel quite tired and I also feel like falling asleep. My eyelids are heavy and I close them just enough to rest them. I drift to sleep, and then I get poked by the person next to me. I look and I see that my ex-boyfriend is in the class with me, and he has poked me to wake me up. I stay awake long enough to hear everyone is now discussing Oblivion, and how it compares to Fallout 3. The subject of Skyrim comes up as the instructor asks if anyone has played that and how it compares. James says all of them blow ass. I comment he wouldn’t know a good game if it bit him. He gives me a strange look, maybe says something, but I am again drifting off to sleep. My eyes close and then I wake up.

      Cats!
      I am in a place I don’t recognize, it is a house, and it is a big one. I have no thought that I’m not supposed to be there, I am just wandering around and exploring. I enter a bedroom and see an adorable tabby cat on the bed. How cute! I turn to leave the bedroom and I almost trip over a tortie cat right behind me. Wow… where did you come from? I pat the kitty and head down the hall towards the bathroom. In the bathroom I find there is no human toilet, but there are four cat pans lined against the far wall. Am I supposed to use the cat pan? Even if I wanted to, they are all occupied. There is a cat doing business in each one and also three more cats patiently waiting in line. Wow… 7 more cats! I pat the last one in line and head out to find a human bathroom. I don’t find another bathroom, but I find my way back to the living room. I go to sit on the couch but I am warded off by a hiss. I almost sat on a cat! I look and see there are seven cats crowded onto the seat of the couch, all lying around each other. There are three more cats on the back of the couch and a cat on each arm. 12 more cats! I mentally count cats and realize I have found 21 cats so far. I turn from the couch and almost fall on my face as I realize I am about to step on a cat’s tail and I move awkwardly to avoid doing that. 22 cats… I wake up with a single cat purring beside me.
    2. Waterbeds and Giant Cheesecake

      ~Had one of those dreams that make you facepalm once you wake up. I was in a room with a waterbed, so I got on the bed and laid down, thinking maybe I could fall asleep and have a lucid dream. Didn't even RC. It felt amazing, though. I closed my eyes and imagined floating in the ocean, and it was the most relaxing, soothing feeling.

      ~I was in some kind of restaurant, looking at a display case full of all their desserts. One of the employees came up next to me and pointed at a chocolate bar in the case.

      "If you eat that, you get a special prize," he said. I told him okay, and he took the chocolate out and handed it to me. After I took a bite he informed me that it was filled with hot sauce, mashed peppers, and ranch, but it tasted fine so I kept eating it. After I finished, another employee walked in with a HUGE piece of cheesecake.

      "This is your prize," he told me, dropping it into a shopping cart that had suddenly showed up. Then he grabbed a doughnut from the display case. It was pink, with chocolate frosing. It looked yummy. He started to hand it to me, but then said, "Oh, wait. This has cotton in it--are you a Christian?" Apparently if you were a Christian you couldn't eat cotton. "Ah, nevermind. Just eat it." He gave me the doughnut but then the dream ended.

      ~Just a fragment, I was in a very dirty, flooded place with sad looking stuffed animals floating around.

      ~I was walking around in my yard when a very large, reddish-brown dog came up to me. He was probably about five foot three from the ground to his shoulder. "Hey, I want you to look in the newspaper for me," he said. I couldn't tell if he was nice but a bit creepy, or if he was about to eat my face off. I tried to walk away but he kept up with me, his nose touching my face.

      "Yeah, I can look," I told him.

      "Look in the newspaper for a dog." He licked my face and loped away. He was scary.

      ~In what looks like a castle courtyard. There are Pokeballs laying everywhere, and armored guards trying to chop my head off. I pick up every Pokeball I pass and open it. Pokemon pop out all over the place, attacking the guards, until finally all the guards are knocked out. Then I just pick up Pokeballs to see what's inside.

      "No, no!" A little boy runs up, looking terrified. "Don't take that one!"

      I look at the Pokeball I was about to pick up. "Why?"

      "It's my Jigglypuff. I hid it here so they wouldn't steal it."

      "Oh. Okay." I leave the Pokeball and continue walking.

      ~I'm running from a killer with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei. We're hiding out in a random house, talking about how we think we lost him. I see a white van pull in the driveway.

      "Oh no, I think that's him," I say, pointing at the van. Joe and Marisa drop to the floor like they're expecting gunfire, but I figure the killer is just going to walk in, so I run upstairs. Somehow I just end up downstairs again, though. The killer is in the house and "he" is actually Elizabeth Gilles. She raises a gun and points it at Joe.

      "It's time to stop running," she smiles.

      Joe rolls his eyes. "Ah, screw it," he says, raising his hands in defeat. Elizabeth shoots him four times and he drops to the floor. Marisa has completely lost it and is screaming her head off in the corner. Elizabeth shoots her, too. I run into a different room. The house is now flooded with several feet of water. I dive under and pretend to be dead so Elizabeth doesn't shoot me. Eventually she catches me coming up for air.

      "Hm..." she says, running a finger along the barrel of the gun. I wait for her to hold it up and kill me, but she doesn't. Instead, she puts it away and tells me to go get her some cookies. I hurriedly run to find a pantry or some other place where there would be cookies, and find my friend Gabi moving around containers in a fridge. I run up to her and we're both terrified, wondering when we're going to die.

      ~I'm exploring some sort of huge abandoned house that also resembles a shipwreck. A man in a tan trenchcoat walks in and offers to give me a tour, but I decline, saying I already know where everything is.
    3. Sleep-Paralysis and Glowing Aliens.

      Fragment 1:
      I can't exactly remember what the beginning of this dream was about, but I remember feeling guilty and happy at the same time throughout the start of it. A strange combination if you ask me. But anyway, the first thing I can clearly remember is being surrounded by glowing lights, that kind of in a way resembled stars. It was beautiful. They were all kinds of colors. It felt like I was floating in space, or suspended in mid-air. Then a figure faded in, a young male, attractive, yet alien. His skin was a shade of navy blue and his pupil-less eyes glowed like the lights surrounding me. He had long wispy hair, the same shade as his skin. And there were spots on him that were translucent, and showed the same glowing light as the stars beneath his skin. He took my hand and caressed my face. Then, this is when I realized I was dreaming. Because one, I thought, "Oh no, I shouldn't feel attracted to this thing, I feel like I'm cheating on the person I love." And two, I realized that it wasn't normal to have an alien thing touching my face with his hands. Then I guess, the dream became lucid and I pushed away. I woke up from the realization of it (which I wish I wouldn't have because I seldom have lucid dreams.) And then I drifted back to sleep.

      Fragment 2:
      I had the feeling that I was awake, but I couldn't quite wake up. I couldn't control myself, and it seemed like I was drifting away from my body. I felt afraid, scared. I saw floating open-mouthed faces close to mine, but I couldn't open my mouth to scream. I could tell I was in my bedroom, though. I think I may have been in a state of sleep-paralysis. It's not the first time it's happened. But it was still frightening. Once I finally woke up I didn't dare go back to sleep. I was too afraid, which was silly. I know that dreams can't hurt me. But regardless, it wasn't pleasant.

      I wish I could remember more details. My dreams were actually somewhat interesting this time.
    4. Fragments of Yesterdays

      I was at home, but the house isn't as similar. My sister was frying salted fish; it was smoky inside the kitchen, and the rest of the house. Blur. I slept. I woke up, seeing the same view I saw before I fell asleep. I was in bed. It was a weekday, early in the morning. We had school (me, my sis, and my bro). My sister said it was good she cooked enough last night to last 'til breakfast.

      I can't remember much about the events in my dreams lately, so I will just put out words and phrase clouds:
      Bloody hands. A long sword. Two swordsmen fighting. A murderer uncaught wanders about. Someone's arms were cut-off. Bleeding. A dead body covered in blood. Screaming. Fear. Dark. Snakes and apes. A theater-like stage with red curtains and yellow spotlights. A grey rabbit mascot. Shy. Sing. Choir. Red chairs in the auditorium.
    5. Staying Places

      I was at home, in my room. Somebody else was also sleeping there. A boarder? I went out.

      I was in mom's room. I was somebody else. A rich guy. I walked into the room, but it looked more like a small marsh, with water and furniture for logs. When I stepped in, the white alligators grew active and tried to bring me down. I jumped from log to log (or furniture to furniture), but I was obviously going down.

      I clung to the window, and then a monkey passed by and saved me. My roommate moved the bed into the room to "catch" me. No more animals, logs or water. I was grateful, but as he slept, I noticed that the pull-out bed under it was facing the wall, so I can't pull it out and sleep.

      School. We were chasing someone. Or being chased? A farm (Knott Berry?) of horrors. Morphing. Trying to escape.

      We went home to school (Lasalle). My companion stays there, but I don't. I checked the time, and it's 11 p.m. I told him I gotta go home. I saw the guard closing the gate, but I also saw a person about to go out.

      Next, I worried if my roommate is still awake so he can open up the gate and door for me. I worried if he'll get angry for waking him up.
    6. Riot !!!!! (Between 20 th August 2010 to 21 th August 2010)

      I dreamed I was in F. F. in the bedroom of my grandparents.
      He had come from a all-night stand (work or play, I do not know), and needed to sleep.
      There was a lot of people in the bedroom, my mother, my grandmother and my father.
      I sent everyone away so i could get some sleep.

      After sleeping a while, i got out of the house. It was night time again. I walked for a while and stopped near a water fountain. I lay down on the grass that surrounds the fountain.
      Herein comes G , T (peaceful-looking) and M and ask me what I was doing there. Suddenly there is more people around us, some of them are my acquaintances, others i don´t know.We are all having a party near a hot dog stand.
      I was talking with Omnio.

      I asked him if there was a way to speak between all network operators through messaging, and he replied:
      "Yes, there is...it´s called mobile Messenger... in America."
      As he was speaking, he was messing with a Nokia phone.

      After I talk to him, I laid my blackberry touchscreen over a hood of a jeep and started talking to someone, I do not remember who.

      A gang member approached me, and gave me a friendly punch in the right leg.

      M begins to speak with him in Creole, and after talking to him, M turns to me and and says:

      "Well, let's take a walk? This guy´s gang just want to get in trouble with us, and I don´t feel like it tonight. "

      As the gang member steps away from us, the turns to M and says:

      "You bounce, only when you´re with your friends!"

      Me, T and M go for a walk through what appears to be narrow and old big city streets.
      When we return to the hot dog stand, we saw a crowd in front of us...it was a riot! Two factions against each other. Our friends against the gang from the guy to whom M spoke.
      One of our friends saw M, and said to him:
      "Come, come, let us beat the hell out of them!"

      M began to run towards the enemy faction.

      The crowd grabbed him and I saw his arm disappearing into the crowd.
      T and I started to "smash heads" to see if we could rescue M.
      I grabbed a long black hair guy (looked like a typical heavy metal fan) that was grabbing the arm of M and started kicking and biting the arm of that guy. I pushed his hair until a little bit of the scalp of his head came out...he let M go.

      I started to feel an electrical vibration through my body, and i teared his skull apart with my bare hands, i felt pieces of flesh from his scalp between my hands...my hands were covered in blood.
      Before he died he said:

      "This must be the new way to enjoy this scene."

      The whole scene happened to the sound of Deftones - Back to School.

      Only I could hear the music.
    7. "You Have No Idea Who I Am, Do You?"

      Dream - Lucid

      There was some plot line to this dream, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was.

      I was in a dim room, sitting on a dark red couch with my best friend Mk and someone else, though I'm not sure who. I think it was a guy. Mk was sitting in between this other person and me. I started to feel really tired, so I cuddled up next to Mk and laid my head on her shoulder to fall asleep. I felt her lay her head on mine as my eyes closed to go to sleep.

      The next thing I know, I'm up and walking around outside in a parking lot. It was sometime in the evening; the sun was starting to set. Someone from a big, white van yells to me
      "Hey! Krista!"
      I turn to my right, and I see the outline of a person in this van. I could only see the outline due to a huge glare in my vision from the sun. At first I thought it was Ryan, but as I got closer, it was a guy in about his mid-20s with brown hair. He looked very youthful; you could see it in his eyes. I had no idea who he was, though.

      He kept talking to me, and I kept responding, when suddenly, he said
      "You have no idea who I am, do you?" When he said that, I looked at him, and he looked like this polysomnographic sleep technician (who is a woman) I worked with the other night in waking life. She has short brown hair in a pixie cut. I kept thinking maybe it was her, but something in the back of my head said I was wrong.
      I ignored the comment and kept talking to the person. They didn't seem to notice that I had avoided their question.

    8. Dreams change - Forest nymphs and computer games

      I can hear voices. They are very gentle voices whispering unknown names.
      I feel like I'm floating.
      Am I in SP? Am I dreaming? Am I dreaming within the dream?
      I try to open my eyes but I can't.
      I can't feel my eyes, in fact, I can't feel my body at all.
      But I remain calm, I'm not worried at all.
      I like the whispering voices, they are so calm.

      Once of the voices gradually becomes louder:

      "Wake up sleepy head!"

      Huh? what? My eyes finally open.
      Yuya is leaning over me.

      "You weren't kidding when you told me you were a deep sleeper."
      "How late is it? It feels way too early to get up."
      "Does it matter? You do realize that you're technically asleep anyways yes?"

      Huh?
      ... oh... OH!

      I get our of bed.

      "I forgot."
      "Of course... don't forget to breathe. "

      I don't get that she's making fun of me at first, and think about whether I have to breathe or not.
      As soon as I get out of bed I realize how cold it still is.
      I realize that I'm still in the same bedroom as before, but the thought is very vague and in the back of my head.

      I start rubbing my hands instinctively.

      "Cold?"
      "No... I'm... stabilizing?"
      "Does the dream seem unstable to you?"

      I can literally feel everything.

      "No."
      "Then stop rubbing your hands and let's do something productive, alright? "
      "Yes... how about we go somewhere... a bit less cold?"
      "It's an interesting experience for sure, but I think I've had enough of it."
      "Haha, alright, let's go to the other side of the planet, I think you're gonna prefer it over there."

      She does the bubble teleport trick again. I have no idea how it works, but it is very quick.

      We end up in a new location. It feels a bit dark at first, but my eyes quickly adapt.
      In fact I very quickly acquire the surreal version I've experienced quite a few times in my dreams.
      The landscape looks amazing!



      Everything is sort of dark, yet anything that emits light is so colorful and bright.
      The contrast between things is extreme.

      "There's a small village right over there."

      We're walking towards it slowly, I'm in no hurry.
      I really enjoy just being here. Everything is so beautiful,
      the temperature is just right, and there's a nice breeze of fresh air.

      I take a closer look at Yuya as we walk along this path, discussing random things.
      My vision is so good, I can see the pores on her skin.
      She's so beautiful...

      "Are you staring?"
      "Err... it's... for science!"
      "Haha... you monster. "

      The portal reference amuses me.

      We have to cross a bridge before entering.
      There's a few funny looking animals floating in the sky above the bridge.
      They all look like they belong in the sea rather than the sky, but they're interesting to look at nevertheless.



      Everything is so colorful. I really love it when I have this surreal vision.
      I should focus on it more often.

      We finally enter the village.
      It is inhabited by humanoids.
      I've met their kind before, they're very similar to humans, except they are in some kind of symbiosis with plants.
      You can see it very clearly if you look at their hair, because it's intermixed with plants growing out of their heads.
      It looks kinda cool. Some of them also have wings.



      We sit down at a bar out in the open. It's a really nice evening.
      I suddenly realize that even though I'm always intrigued and amazed by these alien creatures,
      I never actually talk to them.
      It's time to change that.
      There's a women sitting with us at the bar, why not talk to her?

      "Hey, I'm Hyu, nice to meet you!"

      Well, that might have been a bit formal.
      She looks at me curiously.

      "Hey! What species are you?"
      "I'm human."
      "Ooh, interesting! Spirit or dreamer?"
      "I'm dreaming."

      Oh wait, that's right. I AM dreaming.
      Well, I guess I haven't really forgotten, I just haven't thought about it for some time.

      "So, what do you do?"
      "What do you mean?"
      "In waking life, what do you do?"
      "I err..."

      Yuya looks at me funny.

      "He's programming computer games."
      "Oh, what's that?"

      I'm not sure how to explain, but I can feel Yuya's thoughts,
      which make it quite clear that all 3 of us could simply share our thoughts and
      my explanations would make perfect sense.

      So I proceed to explain what computer games are, and what programming them involves.
      I'm really surprised by how well she understands everything, she is super excited to hear
      about virtual games from another world.
      Yuya becomes rather interested as well and we end up discussing what I am currently working on.

      I talk about quadtree terrain, tesselation, atmospheric scattering, all sorts of things,
      and everything makes perfect sense to them.
      Even though I find some of the topics rather difficult, because they're rather new to me,
      I am able to explain everything perfectly.
      This is a lot more difficult in waking life.
      Explaining what a quadtree is, and why it's useful for terrain is usually enough to fuck with people's minds.

      Yuya and the other girl keep asking questions about computer games.
      I try to show both of them a few games by projecting memories of playing them into their minds.
      I end up showing them a few images from Portal, and they find the game concept amazing.
      Logic puzzles seem to be very popular in the dream world.

      After some time I feel the dream drifting away.
      That's really unfortunate, I'm enjoying myself a lot.
      I can't seem to prevent it by willpower though, and I'd feel stupid spinning around.

      "Aww... I'm waking up..."

      The words don't really leave my mouth, they just echo in my mind.
      I wake up...


      It's only after a few seconds that I realize how long this dream lasted.
      My mind must be playing tricks on me, because combined with the last dream,
      this felt like it lasted for at least half a day easily.
    9. Dreams change - A stay at an ice hotel on another world

      I neglected my online DJ quite a bit. :/
      I'll try to update it more regularly again.


      I'm walking around my room when I suddenly spot an owl sitting on the frame of a window leading outside.
      I get a déjà-vu feeling. This doesn't come as too much of a surprise though, this very thing happened today in waking life.

      (It did, I actually managed to film him for a minute or so. )


      I am dreaming.
      The owl flies away as I approach the window. That's kind of unfortunate, I wanted to pet it.
      Looking outside the window I notice that everything looks rather weird.
      For one, the colors are off, but the shapes of the trees don't seem to be correct either.
      Everything looks close to it's waking life counterpart, but at the same time, it couldn't be more different.

      This is kind of weird, and I decide to jump out of the window to investigate.
      I don't feel the impact of landing at all, the dream probably isn't very stable.
      I start rubbing my hands, to get some feeling into my dream body.
      As I do this I notice that the whole sky changes.
      Huh? this is odd.
      It suddenly starts to snow, even though there are no clouds in the sky, and it doesn't really feel that cold?

      Just as I think that, I can suddenly feel the icy breeze. What the heck?
      I decide to take my shirt off, to feel the cold even more strongly to hopefully further stabilize the dream.
      This has worked once in the past, it might work again.
      Unfortunately it doesn't really strengthen my senses though.
      I can still feel the coldness, but the feeling is quite dull.
      The colors aren't very vivid either, and rubbing my hands doesn't feel right.

      I turn around and notice that my house is gone.
      This dream isn't stable at all, this isn't working.
      I decide to try something I have thought of a few times.
      I will wake myself up, then try to DEILD and hopefully end up in a more stable dream.
      I close my eyes and wait for a bit, focusing on not opening my eyes.

      I wake up within seconds, and my eyes open just a tiny bit before I'm able to stop.
      After some light flashing, which I don't really think about, I seem to fall back asleep.


      I'm not entirely certain that I have begun dreaming yet, but I open my eyes anyways.
      Yep, definitely dreaming!
      I get up and rub my hands again, this time it feels much more realistic.
      Great! I summon my phoenix wings and teleport to Teraluna, hoping to meet up with Yuya.


      After meeting up we stroll over the local market, discussing random things.
      I end up telling her about the dream I had previous to this one.

      "Something has changed, my dreams feel different..."
      "How so?"
      "Colors for example. My dreams used to be dominated by cold colors, but they aren't anymore."
      "Then there's coldness, I have only recently started to experience dreams where I was cold."
      "Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it at all, but for some reason it feels so weird."
      "Haha, don't worry about it, your perception can change over time, it's perfectly natural."

      "Yeah... if only the cold would feel remotely as enjoyable in waking life."
      "You really seem to enjoy it in dreams, you've mentioned it before."
      "Hey, wanna go visit the temple of ice on Twi'jur?"

      "Uuh... sure, why not?"

      I'm a bit worried that I won't make the transition to a new place without waking up.
      This dream has been going on for some time now.
      I try to suppress that thought though, it won't do me any good.

      Yuya performs some sort of trick to create a teleportation bubble.
      It's the first time I'm seeing it, she usually draws portals.


      We end up inside a big room, which reminds me of an hotel reception.
      I shiver from the cold... this place is completely made out of ice!



      I wonder if ice hotels look anything like this in waking life... well, probably not.
      We start walking up a spiral staircase, which is made out of ice as well.
      The ice is very clear and you can see through the stairs.
      My feet start hurting really bad from walking on the ice barefoot.
      It really burns. I wanted to ignore it at first, but it just becomes too painful over time.

      I decide to channel a tiny bit of energy into my feet, to heat them up.
      I can feel a tiny layer of ice melting under my feet, and the pain immediately goes away.

      "Try not to melt the whole place down, yes?"
      "Haha, no worries."

      Thinking about it, Yuya doesn't seem cold at all.
      We reach a higher level of the building we're in, which is a lot more lively than it was downstairs.
      There are different kind of humanoid creatures walking and flying around.
      I spot many fairy type creatures with ice wings.
      I'm assuming that they're the natural inhabitants of this place.



      We stop at some kind of shop... they're selling ice creams, sweet!
      It seems like you can only get a single scoop of ice cream at a time.
      Yuya and I both get one.
      She's sort of staring at me, waiting for me to eat my ice cream which I find a bit weird.
      I decide to do something funny and put the whole thing in my mouth with a single bite.

      "What... what are you doing?"

      I realize I can't swallow, it's too big.
      But I know just what to do, I channel some energy into my mouth, melting the ice cream, and swallow everything at once.
      It was still quite a bit colder than I anticipated though.
      I get a massive brain freeze, it hurts so much that my vision blacks out for a second.

      "Haha, what are you doing? You don't learn, do you?"
      "Nope. This is the correct way of eating ice cream, I insist! "


      We did something after that, but I cannot recall what it was.

      It's getting late and we're both tired.
      Fortunately this seems to be an hotel and we get a room for the night.
      To my disappointment, the bed is made out of ice as well.
      Sure, there are some cloth covers over it, but this is going to be a cold night.
      It's probably going to be uncomfortably hard as well.

      "I can't promise that I'm not going to melt through this during the night."
      "Haha, please don't do that, I don't want to drop into the room below us midnight."
      "That would be quite awkward... but insanely hilarious."
      "No doubt, I still suggest you keep your firey spells to a minimum."
      "Alright alright. "

      Sharing a bed doesn't feel uncomfortable anymore.
      I remember that it felt really awkward the first few times after I started inducing lucid dreams,
      but for some reason it abruptly stopped.
      I'm much more confident around Yuya, I like it.

      The bed isn't as uncomfortable and as cold as I thought it would be.
      Still, I'd prefer it do be warmer.
      My vision quickly starts blacking out.
      No wonder, it feels like this dream has lasted for hours, there's no way I can keep it up for longer...

      I am with four people, my brother B, and two adult figures (One of them was my dad, I think). The two adults have a large metal tank with legs. They are filling it with helium to make it float, and I don't think that makes sense/will work, but it does. Me and B are supposed to compete to glue these light bulb contraptions on to the sides of the tank, but we get distracted. In the end, he wins, and I am very upset. We get in a fight. He points at himself and says "smart" and then at me and says "dumb". I storm off dropping f-bombs.

      Dream 2:
      I vaguely remember being in some sort of large inside play house.

      Dream 3:
      I am in a room that is my "knitting room". I am sleeping there, but I almost feel as though I shouldn't be. It is adjoined with more rooms in a building, but the other rooms aren't my. It is my office/some sort of workplace. A girl is here, even though it is really early in the morning, and I feel the urge to hide under my covers from her. She comes in later and tells me she wrote and expose on one of my coworkers dogs. I talk to my mom about this, and decide to prove the girl wrong by cooking some sort of dish with cheddar cheese on top of it. It works! Huzzah.

      Haven't had good recall lately... These three fragments are from the past two days.

      This was a false awakening. I was on my bed, and had just 'woken' from a previous dream. I wanted to get up and do something else, but I was stuck in sleep paralysis. I experienced some weird hallucinations; when I opened my eyes near the beginning of the episode, I saw tiny stars from the mario games that were floating near the ceiling. I remember squeezing my eyes shut and finding myself in a large garden with trimmed hedges, grey stone for walkways, and lots of pollen in the air. That must have been the 'dream' that was forming, but I soon lost it.

      I came to the unconscious conclusion that I was dreaming, and tried to snap out of it, on the verge of shouting because the SP hallucinations were becoming frightening (these ones were mostly tactile, not visual - my eyes were closed now). However, the level of lucidity was incredibly low, so it could have simply been part of the dream plot, not real awareness. The viewpoint changed from first- to third-person sometime during this part of the dream.

    12. Most Terrifying Dream - Visitor and Knife-Based Pain

      Two hours after waking up today, I took a nap, because I was hoping to enter SP and have a WILD. Instead, I fell asleep normally and then entered multiple false awakenings. What happened next was one of the longest and most effed-up dreams I've had. When I woke up, I did a record amount of reality checks. Where in the world did this come from, why is my subconscious so demented, and why did it have to happen when I was attempting a WILD?

      It was afternoon. I was outside, and the sky overhead looked normal for the time of day. I was walking along the right side of my house, sandwiched between the house and a long, straight wooden fence that extended down it. This fence was ashen in colour and seasoned-looking, with uneven, ragged boards that were slightly pointed on top. There was green grass everywhere, and the exterior of the house itself was made of ruddy red bricks with light-coloured cement in between. I was headed to the backyard, where I "knew" the house's garage would be. When I rounded the back corner of the house and reached the yard, it was an extremely strange setup.

      There was the same, tall wooden fence as the one along the side of the house, but this one was much taller, probably twenty feet tall. It fenced in the entire yard on three sides, then connected to the fence I'd just walked along. Because of the yard fence's height, it blocked out the view of everything outside the yard, although I could see tall, normal-looking trees going at least ten feet past the height of the fence. The presence of the ridiculously tall fence and trees caused it to become darker in the yard, since there wasn't as much room for light to get in.

      I looked to the left, at the yard. There was just straight brick on the house; there were no doorways or anything to get in and out. There was just more slightly-overgrown grass, and the garage. This garage was painted white and looked rustic; a few patches of paint here and there were flaking off. The garage door was open, but I didn't see any cars.

      Then, someone from my school's graduating class walked out. I recognized her immediately, and she looked normal - she had long dark brown hair, freckles, and blue eyes. I had invited her over, and now it was time for her to leave. I smiled and waved as she walked past me, leaving through where I'd just come from.

      Then, I saw my dad walk up beside me.

      "Hey [Puffin], can you help me for a sec?" His voice sounded a bit muffled. I didn't think this was odd.

      He led me down the right side of the house, where I had entered the yard from. Once we got past it, the area wasn't the front yard or driveway of a house like you'd expect; instead, it was another backyard. The setup for this part is very hard to explain because of how complex it was. The side of the house we'd just walked down opened up into a square-shaped lot (probably 60x60 feet), completely closed-in by the same tall fence, and on the other side of the fence you could see more trees. A few of these trees even arced over the fence and above the yard a little; their branches and trunks were thick and gnarled. However, they didn't cast any discernible shadows of their own; the whole yard was just in one solid pale shadow, darker than the back yard. The terrain of this yard slanted up five or six feet towards the back of the lot, especially on the left side.

      In the middle of this yard, leaving three or four feet on each side for walkspace, was a big hole. The edges of this hole were smoothed out, and covered in grass, but then it steeply dropped off into blackness; it was very, very deep. Sometime when I was walking along the house, my dad had gone past me and ended up on the other side of the hole, in the far left corner of the yard where the ground was the most raised. Apparently he wanted to return to my side, but now the yard was littered with big, wide boards of slightly-destroyed wood. Most of them were irregularly-shaped, like the random pieces of paper a kid cuts out with scissors. My dad couldn't just walk around this field of wood, because they were filling the yard all the way up to the fence. But in the hole, there was a possible way to cross it. There were two very, very tall grey rocks with flat tops floating in the hole. Connecting the two rocks was a large, flat piece of dry grey wood. There were two other wood planks, and this created a bridge across the whole.

      On the middle plank, there was also a big, triangular-shaped rock that must have been four feet tall. It looked like it weighed a ton. My dad slowly made his way onto the planks (which wobbled a lot, and he held out his arms for balance, but he didn't look concerned). Once he reached the middle plank, he pushed the rock down into the big hole without any effort, and it disappeared. There was no way he'd be able to push it in real life.

      I decided to check in for the day and sleep. I walked away a few steps and looked at the brick wall of the house. Unlike before, when I saw no doors, now there was a basic white door with a gold doorknob. I opened it and walked into blackness. As I walked forward a few steps, I felt slightly numb, losing feeling in my body as I sometimes do when I'm lucid and the dream ends. And I did become slightly lucid at this point! However, the dream scene changed.

      I woke up in bed. But not really; it was a false awakening. I couldn't see anything around me because my eyes were still closed, but I knew the room was spacious and had a high ceiling that was painted beige, as were the walls. I knew the bed was an antique, with polished wood with fine details and rich colouration. I knew the bed had white bedsheets and a thicker white quilt on top of that. I was on top of the covers, lying on my left side.

      Immediately, I "knew" I was awake and resolved to DEILD. I breathed normally and stayed still. Although the third breath was a bit quicker and deeper than the others, which usually stops my DEILD attempts, I managed to get small vibrations rolling up and down my body. In the center of my vision, I saw a light blue square that was blurring in an outwards direction (almost like a tunnel). It expanded, and a blurry, pale scene formed in front of me. There were very abstract, blurry, dark grey shapes of people's heads and some desks. The only colors in this scene were darker, pale blue and greys. The scene then started to fade slowly as I started to fail the DEILD.

      As the scene faded, taking about ten seconds, I saw a very clear image in my mind's eye - it was a shoulders-and-up shot of a beautiful woman holding a baby up against her shoulder, one hand resting on the back of its head. I heard a woman's voice narrating something along the lines of, "most mothers prefer to hold their baby with two hands if they are pregnant." It was nonsensical but I didn't realize it.

      Once that image faded, I was back in bed with my eyes closed. I thought, 'let's try this one more time'.

      I managed to get the blurry square again, but it was darker than before and disappeared quickly, leaving me lying in bed again. I laid there on my left side for a few moments and breathed out normally. But I didn't get any results.

      Then I opened my eyes, giving up. I blinked once and looked up at the ceiling. Then, I suddenly heard an incredibly high-pitched, desperate scream, like something straight of a nightmare. It said, "don't look up!", and the "up" drew itself out into a long scream of its own. In the next instant, I was still looking at the ceiling, the yellow colors and window briefly flashed white like a camera had gone off, and I heard one of those sounds like in a horror film - it's like the sound wind makes when a big truck drives past you on the highway, minus all the mechanical wheel and actual truck noises. When everything was white, I saw the bright green outline of a tall church steeple, leaning over towards the right. This was in the corner of my vision. The 'outline' was most like someone had taken a simple photo and inverted the colors, so the blacks were white and the other stuff was green.

      The flash only lasted a moment, and then as the whiteness and church faded, I felt a momentary 'shift' or acceleration downwards, although I didn't actually move from the bed at all. It was like an invisible force had come into effect and was spiritually trying to pull me down. Then, I felt a hand strongly press me down into the bed, and roll me over onto my stomach, with the left side of my face pressed right against the bed. I couldn't see anything. At some point my vision had stopped working and everything had gone a dark, dark brown. My back was suddenly exposed and uncovered as I laid there, and then I felt a sharp blade slowly going into my back, dragging slowly along my rib. It started about four inches below my right shoulder blade, tracing along that rib. The knife was excruciatingly painful as it slowly cut its way through my skin, which seemed to give too much resistance to be realistic, but that only made it worse. I had never felt this much pain in a dream before. The cut went down along the skin and stopped when it got to the very side of my body. All the while, I was paralyzed, and I screamed like crazy.

      For a second, I became almost semi-lucid, and I broke free of the paralysis, but when I moved it, was like my bones were stiff and gelled together or something. I turned around, a bit more onto my back and looked at what was doing this. It was a hooded figure, with a black robe like the grim reaper, and surrounded in something like grey smoke. There was a thin, lighter brown woven cord loosely coiled three or four times around his neck; this cord was made of long brown hair! I wasted no time and growled at this creature and attempted to kick him away, but I couldn't move my legs anymore. I tried to punch him, but I was totally paralyzed again.

      He turned me over and proceeded to cut another line into me, slightly further down my body along the next rib. It was really painful. This cut lasted about seven seconds, slightly less than the first, but then I felt another one, a bit further down still. The whole time, I screamed, and as the last cut ended, I saw a flash of another brief image: my vision turned a solid yellow, and I saw three abstract curves that were larger on one end and smaller on the other. The three lines gradated from red to dark brown, almost black, and only took up about a tenth of the total area of my vision; they appeared off near the left side.

      For a brief moment during the cuts, I was aware of my sister lying on the bed beside me, and she said something like, "I told you so", but I can't remember the exact words. The words she said were laced with pain as if she was getting cut, too.

      The dream finally ended, and when I woke up, I could feel residual stinging in my back. I didn't get up immediately, nervous that I'd entered another FA. It took a lot of RCs and a few minutes of lying stock-still in bed before I could get up and shake things out.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I was in a room and I decided to go to bed. I slept for a month and I had some dreams about homes and forests. I also had a different looking wife.

      I had a FA in my grandma house. All my family was there and we were about to party. I went to a grocery store and felt very rested. I wanted to repeat something. I also wanted to share something.

      what an amazing night. I swear I recalled each dream from seam to seam as they transitioned. In the middle if the night I had a dream where I was walking through my school. The school didn't look the same, and there was an unusual amount of light streaming in from all of the windows. This is the second time I've been in my school, which makes me want to start maping it out after reading dreamviews recent cartography thread. Anyways, I decided I might as well reality check, and found I was in a dream. I turned to go down a hallway and saw a friend at the end (Tabitha) I ran down to go see her and was deciding what to do first when my dream sort of melted away. I had dreams after this that I remember well, almost like when I have valerian root capsules before I go to bed. In one of these dreams I was jogging through a cool dark humid forest, watching red and yellow light stream in through the woods at a distance, I'm not sure if I technically gained awareness here because I felt a certain amount of awareness in all of my dreams tonight. It was at this point I decided to admit to myself I was dreaming, and weirdly enough, entered sleep paralysis from there which was awesome. I wanted to get into a deeper state before I tried to move or roll out of my body, but slowly over time I was being dumb and worked my way out of it *facepalm.

      On a side note, I won't grade my short lucid dreams on clarity lucidity ect.
